HK frowns upon guys take videos or pics of their strippers or lesbian shows. Cameras on the ceiling will catch the pervs and send a security goon over to politely request you delete the pics.

There is a small safe in Cascada's room. You have to leave a $10 deposit at the reception desk for a key. Laptops won't fit in it. More like for wallets, passport, jewelries and cash. I left laptops, cameras and other valuables in the room a few times. Never lost anything.
For your peace of mind you may want to put the laptop and other valuables in a small back pack or briefcase and leave it at the reception counter, or with HK's Customer Service desk.

Thanks.The don't bring anything you don't mind losing seems like a good policy. The staff do seem to have easy access to the rooms.
And I have heard of cases where they will accidently give out keys for a room that is occupied.
I have never had a problem using the in room safe, just not sure if a lap top will fit. I did once leave a pager on the night stand. And it vanished. Who would steal an obsolete pager? Pretty sure they didn't even know what it was. I have never had a problem leaving a backpack with dirty clothes.
When you check in make sure you are getting a room with a safe and they will require av $10 dep0 sit for the safe key.

They have never had any issues. From what I have witnessed, you will most likely be taken aside for a bit while they verify the visa. When the PEDeast was still fully functioning, people who re-entered the US were taken to the seating area while they verify the visa. If you have a multiple entry visa, I do not see a problem with you visiting Tijuana and coming back into the US.

Everybody has to learn the ropes and I encourage newbies to make their trip reports to BOTH help them with our comments, and to make all of us aware of the newest scamming moves, like cabbies asking for an extra $15 to $18 for questionable "added" or "premium" services.
Hopefully PR will do more reading on the forum and learn the great advantage of using pesos nearly everywhere in Mexico, Tijuana and La Zona. He seemed to indicate that he actively negotiated with the attractive chica. The Tall Man.So this is a follow up to my report from yesterday afternoon, yes the afternoon before I spent New Years Eve in HK from 7 PM until 1:30 AM NEW YEARS DAY!
Captain Solo, I left LA at about 1 PM on Friday and took me about 3 hours (including stop for gas and ATM). Driving in Tijuana as you all may know they have the road construction so that alone took 45 minutes. Yes the detours were real muddy and goes with the Mexican Public Works mentality of the worst poor planning that you can conjure up with to make a mess and in the worst paths of travel as possible. But heck were here to get pussy and not moan about the Mexican detours.
In my post from yesterday I did say that on Friday night there was enough girls in HK to have some fun and I did expect the same for New Years Eve in HK, but I was wrong. The CVS and other similar pill cutters are pretty easy to use to cut the pills into halves, and then to halve the halves, thus giving you 4 roughly 25 MG pieces. Which is what I do with my 100 MG tabs. I find it hard to believe that you are able to precisely cut a pill into eighths using a razor blade, but if that works for you, go for it. I use the CVS cutter and cut the 100 MG tabs into quarters.There are different types of pill cutters, but I find a razor blade more precise than any of them. With a pill cutter I have problems aligning the blade precisely where I want it. Cutting a pill approximately in half is not a problem with anything, but when subdividing the halves I'm more likely to turn it into dust with the cutter than I am a razor blade.
I find the most difficult type of cutter to be the kind where you can't see the blade at all with the unit open.

There is a pharmacy within a block or two which I believe may be 24 7. I purchased medication at the yellow pharmacy a few years back. It was just down the ramp before the taxis and they had loud music to get your attention. I wrote down the medical term and not the brand name and they were able to match that with generic. They offered to break down a pack and put in a bottle but I opted to buy more in a sealed pack. I can't say whether they substitute ingredients in MX for cheaper less effective ones but pills do have a lifespan. You would want a sealed and dated pack. I get Indian-made Generic V under the brand name Suhagra. I bought about 60 of the 100 MG tabs via mail order from All Day Chemist for, I believe about $79, so about $1. 30 per 100 MG pill a couple of years ago. They showed up in a bit under 3 weeks, to my house in the US in a plain bubble-pack envelope. They work like a champ, exactly the same as the Pfizer branded genuine V, at 1/10th the price. I use 1/4 of the 100 MG pills cut in a pill cutter and get reliable repeatable wood for about 6-8 hours with one of those 1/4 of a 100 MG tab, so at the price I paid, that's 33 cents a dose, which has me good to go multiple times in a 6-8 hour period of time. They come in multiples of 4 pills to a blister pack, with a groove down the center for easy splitting using a pill cutter.

The problem is that there are squirrely, counterfeit sources of both Pfizer-branded and various generic V. One of the reasons I bought from overseas by mail-order is that those generics were legal in the countries that they were bought from. Which makes it more likely that they are real. If you were to find a source of generic V within the USA, it's illegal if it's real, and thus, it's much more likely to be counterfeit.
But nowadays, with the Peso as cheap as it is, you can probably get a better price on generic V via a good Mexican pharmacy in Tijuana than you can by mail order overseas. That 12-14 peso price per pill mentioned previously would be an example of this, so I'd probably get my next batch from a Pharmacy in Tijuana. But I have about 40 pills left of the Suhagra, so, that's 160 doses, which should last me at least another year and a half. LOL!

Most time I just drive back late at night.
I hate to get up in the morning seeing very few chicas, not even decent-looking, with noting to do in scruffy Tijuana, and feel I wasted my morning. But if I have visitors along, we would go to La Perla for breakfast then go back to HK to waste the day. Hehe.
Some of these guys have to start the morning with their Tecate breakfast in HK, no kidding. I would like to stay, but leave my car in the US. Is there a hotel close by the border I can stay, leave my car and have no worries? I just don't want to drive into Mexico. Frankly, the couple of miles I walk in each direction from my car parked in the USA To the zona is one way I get some exercise. In each direction, I am walking alone, and I pass the aforementioned Wax Museum and pharmacy. I've made this walk probably 40-50 times in each direction over the past 8 months. I have NEVER been threatened, accosted, stalked, whatever. And I'm not a big, intimidating looking guy. I'm 5'8" with a bit of a gut, and I'm in my late 50's with grey / balding hair. The only folks that ever approach me are folks who want me to come into their restaurant to buy food or a beer, or want to sell me something, ranging from a breath mint to a cheap souvenir. I've walked past groups of Hatians hoping for asylum. They're not threats either. They just want to live and let live and get into the USA For a better life. I've walked past innumerable scruffy looking Mexican beggars. They don't threaten me either, even if they ask me for small change and I blow them off. Frankly, the biggest danger is probably the corrupt policia. But I guess that during the daytime, I don't look like a lucrative mark for them, so I've never been stopped by them either. I grew up around New York, and I also lived in Chicago for a couple of years. During the daytime, I would honestly say that the walk to the zona to and from the border is not any more dangerous than walking around either of those two major American cities during the daytime. To provide accurate assessment of security risks in Tijuana, the fact is I have been going to Tijuana for over 15 years, driving and walking from and to the border to La Zona, mostly late at night. I have never been robbed, threatened, stolen, assaulted by anyone. I were stopped and searched a few times by policias but never lost anything, except recently my friend let policia rifle through his wallet and lost $120.
I used to enjoy hanging out on the Liberty Path on sunny weekends, sitting under the straw palapas on sidewalk, gawking pretty, long-legged young tourists, drinking cold $1 beers, eating 3 for $1 tacos, flirting with the young meseras. This walk used to be lively on weekends with hundreds tourists, trinket carts and cheap tacos shops: Liberty Plaza and walking path behind the border McDonalds, the bridge over the Tijuana river to the Mercado de Artesannias, the Wax Museum, El Arco, Ave Revolution, Hotel Nelson, the trinkets plaza, Calle 1, Ave. Constitucion, Bar Malquerida, Callejon Coahuila, the bar block with Hong Kong Club and hotel Cascada.
But after 2008 there were hardly any tourists. Vendors went away, stores, bars, restaurants, arts shops closed off. It's a very sad scene that lots of good, honest people lost their livelihood.
While I encourage the bros to branch out of La Zona to enjoy the cultural life of Tijuana near El Arco and Ave Revolution during the day time on weekends when there are lots of people around, encouraging newbies to walk all the way to the Wax museum just to buy Fiagras to save a few buck is a very dumb idea. The risks of being robbed and injured just far outweigh any savings. There are plenty of reputable Pharmacias at the corner of Constitucion and Calle 1 whose prices are not much higher.
While on the road anywhere in the world, have no fear, but make sure you are always on the winning side every time!

The supposed danger of this path is wildly overstated.I agree with #2041 that your greater financial risk is in dealing with the Tijuana policia. Just remember to initially hold all your cash in your hands immediately when being stopped by Tijuana Policia.
I personally know dozens of mongers. I walk in the areas we are talking about 40 to 50 times a year, as do most of them.
We pass around stories and information that we gather by speaking to others and reading these monger boards and travel sites. I personally know only two mongers that were victimized by chock-hold like assaults in daylight hours, inside LZ, and in both cases their monetary losses were in the $40 to $50 ranges. They both continue to walk the same areas today.
In November my son was robbed on Revo while walking alone at 5:30 AM at the Hotel Alaska mural after drinking in bars on Revo. He, and you should take taxis at night.
I don't intend to make light of the risks. They certainly exist. But neither I, nor #2041, have been mugged despite hundreds of times where we walked around outside of La Zona. If it ever happens to me, it will simply be the cost of doing business.

This is my first visit to HK in the New Year. January 8th, Sunday Mid day. Ghost town. Anyway, decided to sit and have a cold one alone. Then I saw one of my past favorites from a distance. The music from "Jaws" started to come to mind. She sat down and said, "you remember me"? She then said, "I want your warm vitamins on my body" WTF! I got attacked with a choke hold on a weekend walk up Constitucion in front of Hotel Riviera on the sidewalk last month. One ratero surprise attacks you and chokes off your air from behind while the other trips you then goes after your wallet. You don't see their faces. Luckily I lost only a coin purse with a few dollars because my wallet was hidden, but the area was well lit with plenty of people around and I felt safe. The attack takes less than a minute or two. I bought some "Strike Spikes. Attaches to the Back of Your Cap" on Amazon so if I get another choke hold I can jam the spikes into the Ratero's face while he has me by the neck to get free. Also recommend not walking on the sidewalk. Stay in the street where the rateros cannot jump out of an alley or door and get you by the neck.

One cholo grabs you from behind, his arm choking your neck, choking off your air pipe and aortas until you pass out very quickly, like within 10 seconds. Local people will look on but won't interfere within the 15 to 20 seconds while the cholos rob you on the sidewalk. And they won't help you or policias to investigate.
They then rob you of everything, stealing your shoes and your pants so you cannot chase them and have to walk back to La Lineas butt naked waiting for hours among thousands tourists to go home. The thieves may have already used the victim's IDs to cross the border ahead of him.
About 3 years back, 2 separate times near the tacos stands full of people on Ninos about 9 PM, I saw 2 older well-dressed men got knocked on their heads bloody, robbed and left to bleed on the sidewalk. People continued to eat unfazed. The tacos guys called policias. 4 fat and lazy local pigs arrived in about 15 minutes to file reports. I have not seen any crimes near La Zona recently besides a few reported cartels' shootings. There are now more policias patrols on foot and on trucks around La Zona, and security has gotten better in my observations.
Chokeholds happened not too frequently but has been reported a few times in the last 4 years by the bros in ISG, the latest one in the alley across Coahuila from Adelita, next to the OXXO store and Mermaids Massage. Tijuana has a lot of hungry, broke and desperate people, deported criminals, drugs traffickers and human coyotes, migrants and vagabonds, all converging in the small slums surrounding La Zona, waiting to cross into the US. I suspected it happened a lot more frequently to Mexicans but went unreported.
Every time I walk in La Zona, even around the high-security bar block, filthy, hungry, scruffy guys would have their eyes on me, waiting for the opportunity to strike. I always stay alert, looking around as I walk, holding a sharp "tool" in my pocket, ready to strike back real hard. If I think some guys are following me, I would stop with my back against the wall ready for counter attacks. I guess I am one of those tough guys who just hates to be taken advantaged of by stupid, greedy criminals.
The probability of choke hold for normal and alert tourists with street smart in Tijuana will be much higher than that for poor, penniless local people, perhaps 1 in 30,000 every day based on about 1,000 mongers and 2 million local residents, or about 1 assault every 30 days. But if a gringo walks into dark alleys near La Zona by himself late at night, well, his assault probability will be very near 100%.
It only has to happen to a monger once to ruin his life completely or even death if he gets knifed or bashed over the head. Try every smart ways to even further reduce the probability of assaults and robberies in Tijuana. Use lots of caution and prevention. The Tall Mans brief trip report goes like this. Parked in the lot behind the Jack in the Box Friday about 3 PM. Took a $5 cab ride to Rizo de Oro and got a room (not to busy). After getting settled in my room had a few street tacos and about 7 PM made my way into HK and had a beer, just checking out the scene. For the hell of it walked the alley and noticed half or less of street girls than normal.
Made my way over to Aditias Bar and I must say the gorditas are taking over this club. Had a beer and after seeing NOTHING that I would stick your dick into so left after 20 minutes.
Next checked out Tropical Bar, it's now about 9 PM and nothing worth even dropping a beer on, matter-of-fact My 2 hours spent last night (Saturday January 7th) in TB with my buddy and I must say the selection and quality of girls was dismal at best, nothing, nothing, nothing so headed over to HK.
On Friday HK had a decent albeit one half of normal selection of girls but last night (Saturday January 7th) was the worst I have seen in years in terms of selection and quality. We all know that HK can be finicky but chalk it up to holidays and the gas problems in Baja Mexico but again the worst I have seen HK, AB and BT in many many years.
Fortunately I have 2 favorites that kept me busy both Friday and Saturday but if not for these two I would have returned home early Saturday morning.
Hope the selection, quantity and quality improves over the next month and get back to normal.

Thanks again for your feedback brother!It is best to try to dress like a local of modest means: Jeans (not dress slacks or shorts) T-shirts rather than dress shirts, no jewelry or expensive watches or cell phones in outer cases attached to your belt. You don't need to dress nicely or richly to seek out and score with prostitutes in Tijuana's LZ.
The biggest target you can have to turn you into a mugging victim or policia shake-down victim is to appear loud, drunk or loopy on the street. There are some mongers who's MO is to get plowed in the bars as soon as they get to La Zona. When they write their reports it is generally mostly about how smashed they and their friends got in LZ, with very little written about the things they did with bar girls, other than buying them ficha drinks. When these drunk guys leave the bars, they don't just imagine that all these folks on the street are staring at them. The locals are staring at them, and sizing them up for the next violent score before the tipsy mongers get into their cars to drive home drunk.

I have not seen any crimes near La Zona recently besides a few reported cartels' shootings. There are now more policias patrols on foot and on trucks around La Zona, and security has gotten better in my observations.
Chokeholds happened not too frequently but has been reported a few times in the last 4 years by the bros in ISG, the latest one in the alley across Coahuila from Adelita, next to the OXXO store and Mermaids Massage. Tijuana has a lot of hungry, broke and desperate people, deported criminals, drugs traffickers and human coyotes, migrants and vagabonds, all converging in the small slums surrounding La Zona, waiting to cross into the US. I suspected it happened a lot more frequently to Mexicans but went unreported.
Every time I walk in La Zona, even around the high-security bar block, filthy, hungry, scruffy guys would have their eyes on me, waiting for the opportunity to strike. I always stay alert, looking around as I walk, holding a sharp "tool" in my pocket, ready to strike back real hard. If I think some guys are following me, I would stop with my back against the wall ready for counter attacks. I guess I am one of those tough guys who just hates to be taken advantaged of by stupid, greedy criminals.
The probability of choke hold for normal and alert tourists with street smart in Tijuana will be much higher than that for poor, penniless local people, perhaps 1 in 30,000 every day based on about 1,000 mongers and 2 million local residents, or about 1 assault every 30 days. But if a gringo walks into dark alleys near La Zona by himself late at night, well, his assault probability will be very near 100%.
It only has to happen to a monger once to ruin his life completely or even death if he gets knifed or bashed over the head. Try every smart ways to even further reduce the probability of assaults and robberies in Tijuana. Use lots of caution and prevention. With large number of armed cop patrols on foot, motos and trucks day and night, La Zona is definitely safer than most cities in North, Central and South America. Downtown and South Central LOS Angeles have far more armed and violent criminals with much fewer real cops than Tijuana. If you know how to survive and get what you want those urban areas, then you should have no big problems in Tijuana.

I took SMD Jr. Down to Tijuana on Thanksgiving weekend and the following weekend for some dental work.

Hi. I've mongered in other countries, but never in Mexico. I'm planning my first trip to Tijuana / HK. Thanks to this thread, I've learned about how to take the trolley to the border the border and get a cab to the Hong Kong. (A big thank you to everyone who's posted on those subjects!) Because of my previous mongering trips were in South America and the Caribbean, I also feel fairly comfortable walking into an unfamiliar bar like the Hong Kong and meeting the working ladies. So my next questions are about the next step: how to get the hotel room for the session. I've checked the Reports of Distinction thread and I haven't found a post that covers all the options, so I'm still trying to decide what the best approach to getting a room is. By scanning this thread, I've found the following options. Please reply if I got any of the following info wrong.
Option 1: Get a short-term room at the HK / Hotel Cascadas. 30 minute time limit, $18 or less.
Option 2: Get a Hong Kong VIP pass which gives you more time in the short-term rooms. - Does that mean 45 minutes?
Option 3: Get a room at Hotel Cascadas for the whole night.
Did I get all that correct? Are there any other options I missed?
30 minutes seems rushed to me. I've never had a session that was less than 45 min in the past; I like to take my time, take a shower, etc. So Option 1 doesn't sound good for me, but I could probably make it work for my first night at HK while I'm still familiarizing myself with how things work there.
Lastly, here a couple of general questions. Please don't feel like you have to try to answer them all. (I'm sure I can piece it all together one way or another.).
- Is Hotel Cascadas really the only option? Are the ladies at the Hong Kong required to do all their sessions at Cascadas? On 10/30/2016, UltraHappy posted that they have another hotel across the street. Does that mean that Hong Kong will only let their ladies go to these 2 hotels?

Some of the prices quoted below seem a bit astronomical to me. When I visited last Fall, I was paying 1500 pesos per hour (not per half hour) for the cutest little spinner street girls (including BBBJ) on a Saturday night. In past years, I stuck to HK girls, but this last trip, they were all asking far too much.
On the pay before or after, I never pay before. I always pay after. I insist on that. If she says she can't do a room with me unless she is paid before, then I say ok, no problem, how you like, we can go. They always change their tune when you start to walk them out.

Most CBP guys are illiterate, high-school dropouts. They know shit and don't give shit about the laws they are supposed to enforced.
A few years back Late one dark night, I walked ahead of a long waiting line and showed my GLOBAL ENTRY card to the black guy who was bullshitting with his friend near the metal gate at PED EAST. Most auto insurance policies sold in the US to auto owners & drivers contain specific language stating that the insurance coverage does not extend to operating the car in Mexico.
If you were at fault for an accident that occurred in Mexico, without auto insurance coverage, you can be taken to jail and held there until you can show ability to pay for all damages to all relevant parties.
Does HK have dedicated parking lots? Or is it unsafe to park in the neighborhood? TIA.There are parking lots about 1/2 block from HK in any direction you wish to walk. Street parking in or near LZ (and many other parts of Tijuana) is very risky regarding break-ins and theft. The reimbursement for parking to holders of their HK VIP Platinum Cards require parking in specific lots, not all the lots near HK.

Others may differ but my routine is that I 99% of the time park at the border, the parking lot behind the Jack in the Box, you can't miss it, then make my way through Mexican customs area, a short 7 minute walk from the parking lot, now be sure to bring your US passport, once you get through proceed along the walkway until you see the yellow taxi cabs, confirm with the taxi driver that for $5 dollars he will take you to HK club, and bamm your there, it is a short 10 minute ride from the border to the door steps of HK.
Have fun and please report back your experiences. Don't forget your passport as its needed for both walk over entry and mandatory when you return either by foot or car.

P.S. , yes many do drive across and HK has a parking lot called Pepes or something like that that charges and once you park hop onto their buggy and they will drive you around the corner to the doors of HK.

This may or may not be accurate (I happen to think it is). Second, make sure your insurance covers you in Mexico. If not, you must buy a policy at any of the places off the 5 freeway. Take the Via San Ysidro exit. Or buy online. Third, and most important for most, is the time involved in returning to the USA. Depending on what day of the week, and what time you choose to cross, be prepared to spend any amount of time, up to and including 3 hours in line. If you have a SENTRI card and an approved vehicle than you'll be fine and none of this applies, but they we wouldn't be having this conversation.
So, if you must drive in, factor in the above and let us know how it goes for you. BTW, most of the guys who post here who also drive have SENTRI on their car. Very few, if any, who do not have SENTRI on their car drive in.

It is possible that the HK mesro's change amount in pesos (offered to you from his tray) was far less than 343 pesos since a common trick in HK (& other Revo & LZ bars) is to short your change, expecting you to be too stupid or too drunk to notice. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of change offered to you looked more like the amount of an appropriate tip instead of over $15 worth of pesos.

I drove in on Monday the 23rd through San Ysidro. Bought insurance over the phone from Geico. Cheeper and faster than last year at the border. Crossing took an hour and a half.
