I was just here a month ago it really is great and its hard for me to monger in chicago after going out there haha. Just wondering how you got the GFE out there? I went to adelitas and Hong kong club, and at adelitas if I wanted to make out with them they would ask for 20 more but I didn't bother asking for a BBBJ, is that even possible? You work for tips and American style tipping is the norm. You make a lot more than a waiter in another restaurant or other low end job. I'm down there a lot and the waiters know me and don't try anything like the chips thing or hassling me for drinks. They know I'll tip them well for good service and won't give them a peso if they try that crap with me. I've even sometimes not noticed given them a 20 when I thought I gave them a 10 and they gave me the correct change. I've had a mesero follow me outside because I had dropped my phone in the booth and hadn't noticed. They're not all sharks out to squeeze gringos dry.
The guys are hyper-agressive because if they don't deliver revenue to the bar, they're gone. The good waiters can provide good service and still make lots of money. Others see the gringo tourist as easy pickings. Most of the gringos will never come back so you have to get them while you can. I've given hundreds in tips to my favorite waiters over the years.
And yes, the bar will throw your ass out if you're not buying drinks. It is a bar, not a charity. If you're not buying, you're wasting space. If you're on a budget, drink slower and / or carry the empty bottle in your hand. If you have nothing in your hand, you'll be asked to buy more. This is pretty much standard operating procedure at most bars and clubs in the world.
I hardly deal with HK waiters. I walk straight up to the bar buy a beer with a $5 bill (keep the change) and walk around the club. Sometimes I sit down here or there but not for long.
I think the problems happen when you pick a booth as a home base. That booth is technically the waiter's real estate. You will need to pay rent if you stay. If not they want it available for another customer that will.
Bring exact change and buy your own drinks at the bar. Most bartenders at HK will be glad to take the tip away from the waiters.

Went very recently to a multitude of places in Tijuana, I have to say overall disappointing the way almost every halfway intriguing (and even some of the unintriguing ones I asked just for fun / research) INSIST on CBJ. Fuck off with that!
Saw our girl alaska aka barbara. Ok I already hate the weekends as it is because of it being too crowded and the ratio being horrible. But HK did something that is going to make that 10 times worst this weekend, some might enjoy it though. They put a HUGE ASS POOL right in the middle of the place. Yeah it makes me re-think my tea party views of less government rules. They have some really wack people roaming the streets here. I don't think I spent $70 for VIP and if I remember correctly it was for 12 beers for the lady and lasted until she finished them. I was in the skybox and I didn't reserve it, I liked it too for the first 2 hours atleast then it got old. I didn't mind spending a few bucks then but after awhile I realized money and experience don't always meet up so now I try to stick to the cheap route. Honestly though VIP is a much better deal than buying a couple of ficha's. Hit up HK Wednesday night. Arrived 8ish and left at 12. It was a typical Wednesday night.
Saw one of my favorites Roxana, sitting alone in a booth. I don't speak spanish so it's hard to connect with some of the girls, but Roxana speaks english and is very playful. As I get outside I see the police frisking somebody at the club right across the street from HK, handcuff him and throw him in the back of the police pick-up. I don't know why they arrested him. He didn't seem drunk, maybe he was too rowdy in the club. Also, saw a lady in the back of the pick-up and she looked wasted. I was smoking my cigarette watching when one of the cops calls me over. He says something to me in spanish and my only reply was,"No intiende." He doesn't search me or anything just ushers me to get going. That had me nervous for a minute. Lesson learned, do not stop and watch. I got to keep doing what's kept me safe all these visits to Tijuana; MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Will return in 2 weeks and by then my favorite SG will be back from her vacation.

Normus JohnsonThere is a security check point as you enter Tijuana and they check backpacks and luggage. Unless you are carrying a gun, knife, drugs, etc. It shouldn't be a problem.
I have stayed in hotel Cascadas a few times. I thought it was pretty clean but just loud from the traffic and the club music. The only reason I've stayed is because I was too drunk to get a cab, wait in line, and drive to my motel.
They do not give you a key card for entry into your room, you just state your name at the front desk and someone will escort you into your room. Also, they do not provide an in room safe so keeping expensive stuff in your room would make me rather nervous.
I think the only cool thing about staying in hotel Cascadas is when you get drunk at HK your room is just a few feet away. It also has porn so when you feel like you need to unload, SG are just outside waiting for you.
If you plan on staying a few nights, I would recommend Ticuan.

They do have peddle cabs for $ 2. 50 that will take you from the light at JIB, around to the border entry. You will then have to walk about 1/4 mile, through two circular turn styles (that can be a real pain in the a* with luggage) to get to the cabs. I would bring a small bag, and leave the rest in your trunk, if it cannot be seen from outside. I have parked in the lot behind JIB for a few years now, and have never had problems with break-ins.
I'm not sure what CG is, but if you are a Marriott man you might want to stay at Ticuan. It is about $60 per night, and very nice. It is on Calle 8@Ave. Revo, a $3-5 cab ride to the Zona. Most other hotels in the $35 range per night are clean, most have A / C, and TV's with cable, but very basic.
Others can tell you more about Cascadas, I have never stayed there. I have heard that after the first girl, they charge you the room fee anyway. Is that true guys?
Enjoy Tijuana, but do not venture too far out of the Zona on foot.

In your situation I would try to find a nice place close to the border and just walk back and forth unless you can find a locker for the stuff you don't need to drag it along and then find a place in Tijuana.
When you cross over the boarder there are guys there with dollies that will carry your luggage for you to the taxi. I guess you can do that and go straight to hotel via the taxi. Might not be as bad as I am thinking? but seems like a big hassle to me

If your main concern is dragging all your luggage back & forth across the border, then another option you may want to consider is staying in San Ysidro. I've often stayed at the Motel 6 in San Ysidron (#98 on the Motel6 website). It's certainly not the Marriott, but it's basic and clean, and an easy walk to the border, or you can pick up on of the pedi-cabs along the street for a ride to the border.
Just another option to consider.

traveling alot to la this past year and sure enough i may have a day to two to spend in tijuana. planning on driving down to the jib and parking. walk across and then a cab to hk. staying at the hotel in hk club.if you're not going to be driving each day, you may wish to park at the duty free lot on the other side of the freeway. it is $8 / day. the jib lot is $5/8hr=$15 / day. the problem with the duty free lot is they seem to have recently rented off large sections to the contractor re-doing the port of entry, so there's fewer spots and you'll have to walk farther. but still, it is the closest place to mexico you can park without being in mexico. it also means when you're coming back to leave, you have to make the walk over the pedestrian bridge.

- normally i travel on the heavy side (luggage ). is this going to be a major pain in the ass as i walking over the bridge? going thru security?i like to travel light so the biggest bag i've crossed with was a jansport backpack with some clean clothes and some toiletries. taking a large bag will be a pain, but i've been in airports with larger walks than from the us side to the mexican taxi stand. before moving here, i'd keep my car at the duty free lot and just bring over a day's worth of clothes / etc. but i'd also go to san diego each day so i was going to cross anyway. if you're staying on the mexican side your whole trip, that could be inconvenient to cross just for fresh clothes.
when you have luggage, the mexican customs dudes will want to inspect it to make sure you're not smuggling guns or large amounts of cash in. it isn't a big deal for the search, but it will slow you down a bit (far faster than a tsa checkpoint though). if you look like a gun / money launderer you may get searched by the mexican marines that also have a table set up. i've never seen anyone get searched there, but they marinas have really scary guns.
when returning to the us, you'll need to put your bag through an x-ray machine that is faster than the airport, but still if you hit the line during a rush period there's a backup adding time to your trip (maybe 5-10 minutes max). and having a smaller bag won't save any time.

(for the 30 minute sessions, they give out a sheet used to cover the bedspread, no one actually peels back the covers for that). there's hot water for showers and the ac will run if it is hot outside. you'll want to bring your own shampoo / soap. and you can buy bottled water across the street at the oxxo. and it is relatively secure. it will be an adventure!

I've done some very basic research and think I have a handle on most things. I'm going to park at the border, walk across, get a cab there and then eventually back, and then drive home. Then read the Brockton's Guide. It's a sticky near the bottom of the Tijuana page. It has a lot of useful information.
Virtally all of the chicas speak enough English to understand "how much","how long". Don't forget to counter offer. This is Mexico.
Most of the waiters speak reasonable English. They will be happy to find a girl for you, and assist with any translation difficulties. For a small tip, of course.

Have you ever stayed in, say, a BKK short time hotel over a bar? If you have, and are comfortable with the nose, foot traffic, relative lack of security, lack of amenities and tons of street noise, then you will be fine. Otherwise, you may seriously want to reconsider your choice of lodging. Just IMHO.
If your ultimate goal is to have a steady stream of girls coming to your room all night, then you really have little choice. But factor in the additional charge for each girl after the first. Oh, BTW, all the girls will have to be from HK. Good luck getting a girl from another club to come to your room in Cascadas.

Also, the rooms do have porn on their TV. Not great porn, but it is funny when their satellite bill is late and the porn has a message to pay the bill covering most of it.
The restaurant Sonora Grill which is across the street from HK / Cascadas has wireless but it requires a password. I don't know if they'll give it out for customers. I had a not-too-bad carne asada torta there once. It does cost significantly more than street tacos but then again, the street tacos stands don't have wifi. But you might give it a try before going down to Revo. Note that free wifi isn't as prevalent in Tijuana as it is in the US. Many places will over paid wifi (Starbucks, VIPs, California Buffet, KFC, Sanborns). You can set up an account with boingo. Com and then use the Americas Day Pass option to use any Infinitum or other paid wifi in Mexico for $10 / day. They also have monthly plans, etc. It is easier than trying to find a place to sell you a wifi access card. Worst case scenario is you can walk back into the US and use the McDonald's wifi next to the CBP port of entry for free.
Also, if you have a US smartphone, it will most likely lock on your US carrier's signal from your room at Cascadas (especially rooms with windows facing the street) so you can check mail that way. My ATT iPhone gets the ATT signal in the street or in the rooms of the hotels. I don't like to whip out my phone on the street, but merely having it in my pocket will have it connect to the internet, grab the messages and that I can read in the club (where it will pick up Telcel or movistar for roaming).

No street girls will go up also?Alley girls have their own preferred ST hotels they will go to. Some use Cascadas. Usually the closer the girl is to Cascadas, the more likely she'll go. Las Chavelas is owned by the same guys that own Hong Kong and those girls also use Cascadas. The good news is the other door girl featured hotels are cheaper for the half hour so that shouldn't be deal killer and you'll see the relative luxury of your Cascadas room compared to some of those shitholes.

Normus JohnsonI second that the zona is not the place to stay. I personally don't even know how anybody can stay down there but I guess some guys do. There's some nicer hotels on revoltion for only a couple bucks more and my favorite hotel is Ticuan which runs 55 / night and is a hotel I could live at. The first time I went to Tijuana I knew I would never be able to stay in the zona, it's got a filthyness that I prefer to wash off at the end of the day, not sleep in it. Good luck with your journey, I wouldn't be too worried about holding your own it's not bad in Tijuana at all, I feel way more comfortable in Tijuana than in Milwaukee WI.

The Hotel Santiago just down the street is a good clean decent place to stay. Check it out for yourself never take anyones word for anthing.
Alright hit up Tijuana on Tuesday. During labor day weekend I hit up Vegas with my cousins. We had a crazy time at the club and with some strippers. There are two decent ones on Ave Revolucion next to the swap meet. Roughly calle 10-12 that offer a decent rate. Generally I wouldn't exchange in the centro but that's just me. Make sure to look for NO FEE cambios. One place gave me a great rate but then charged me a fee. I wasn't paying attention.

The last time I was down I noticed a significant spread between the atm rate and that offered at the casas de cambio. Cheapest way would be to use the trolley $5. Taxi would be about $50 and renting a car plus parking fees and fuel would be crazy.
You can take a taxi or bus or walk to the trolley depot. Make sure you get a copy of the times it runs for your return trip.

Cross the border, then take a cab. Offer the driver $3 for a ride to the zona. Many drivers will ask $5 but they will all come down $3. Just tell the driver "Hong Kong" or "Adelita's". They are right next to each other. Those are the two best places. Hong Kong is a little younger and livier with more of a hustle. They constantly have sex shows going on. Adelita's has some older broads and not as wild. No sex shows or anything like that. There's other places too like Las Chavelas and Tropical that are okay sometimes. And the alley behind the main block is full of street girls. I would recommend staying in Tijuana if you can. Hotel Ticuan is very nice for about $50 night. It's a $3 cab ride away from the action. Upon entering Mexico you can take a yellow cab for $5. 00 (USD) to the Zona, if you continue past them to the street, you can get a white cab for $3-5. Tell them you want to go to Hong Kong. Do not let them tell you about other places.
Once in the Zona there are five main haunts, with three Hong Kong, Adelitas, Chicago Club (after about ten at night) that cater to Gringos. The other two Tropical and Las Chavelas are in between locals, and gringo's bars. There are many other bars around the Zona which are mainly local type bars. Behind the entries of the bars is what is known as "the alley". This is where Street Girls hang. Negotiate everything up front. The reason I am saying that is that, some years back, I entered the Us with a visa on my old passpoprt, while travelling with the new one. Allowed, no problem. I then went to tijuana with the valid passport, but forgot the old one which had the visa. On my return, I was held up at the immigration office for the few hours that it took people in my hotel in San Diego to find the old passport and bring it to the office. Check my reports back, I told the whole story.
Otherwise, I never miss a chance to go doawn to Tijuana whenever I happen to be in SD. Hong Kong club is unique in the world. Make sure you have tons of 1£ bills.

Something I should have said better, you do not have to pick up the blue line trolley at America Plaza (Amtrak Station). The Blue line runs all the way from Old Town to San Ysidro.
The trolley stations between Old Town & City college will be closed the weekends of Oct. 21-23 & Oct. 28-30. They will have shuttle buses that take you to City college Station where you can get on the Blue Line for San Ysidro. They have a map of the bus stops. If you take the trolley for your return and have a flight to catch, please add some time to your travel. The bus will make stops and probably add some time to the journey.
Anyone that takes the Amtrak and gets on at America Plaza, it will be temporarily moved to C St. Between Columbia & State Streets until some time in December. It appears that you could still get on the trolley at the Amtrak Depot, with the exception of the weekends above.

Decided to make a trip down south a couple of days earlier than usual.
Monday:
I decided to stay at the Travel Lodge at San Ysidro, $30 / night.
Parked at the $5 prepay parking and headed down to HK.

First, I live 20 minutes from Tijuana, vice the 14-16 hours to Rio. I was there for carnival in 2004 and 2006 and had a blast, but it was expensive, unlike Tijuana. IMO:
Tijuana beats the sh*t of anything in the states, especially since I am a fat, old (63) f*rt. There are some very beautiful women in Tijuana, but the services do a majority of the times (95-99%) lack what is given in other mongering destination. While I have never been to Brazil, IMO the Colombiana's on a whole are way hotter, and generally give GFE. Often, if you buy a bucket all at once, there is more commission than if you buy them singly. Policies differ. But I can't imagine a commission greater then $50.
YMMV, but sexo in the privado is not always assured. Depends on the bar, the girl, other factors. Technically, it is illegal for the bars to also provide rooms for sex. Also, the privado may not be very comfortable, and there will be no shower or other facilities.
Often an additional tip will be requested. Again, YMMV.

This sort of reminds me of the Strip bar in Patpong 2 in Bangkok where you can do the girls in these crowded booths with tables with only thick curtains providing privacy. Most will cheat you if you show any uncertainty about anything (ie how much you gave them, how much change you get, what's the cost of a certain set of drinks, are you paying for just you and your girl or everyone in the group, etc).
So that double ficha price could be complete BS by one of the many bad meseros. I only trust 3 meseros in HK and had never had a problem with any of them. If it's not busy, usually they'll give me the VIP for 5 fichas if I want and the girl is ok with it, etc. But the VIP rooms are always YMMV, depending on the girl and how slow / busy the club is. Sometimes, the new girls don't want to be seen going upstairs (or a girl with a novio in the club) , so the VIP may be your only option. With the right girl, the VIP can also be a cheaper option than the room.
You can try asking the person that handles VIP cards at the glass counter for the real scoop on the Miami pricing. I'll find out when I get down to HK later in the month.

I hadn't been in AB in a long time so I checked it out several times and didn't even know it was a VIP Room. I walked in probably 5-6 times on FRI and SAT nights and was never challenged by anyone. This was all during prime time between 9PM and 1AM. Even though the main bar was crowded, the back room was almost empty, maybe 5 or 6 customers at most. Between other commitments and being in the DR, I have not had the chance to make the harsh twenty minute trip to Tijuana within the last 3 weeks. But I started getting the shakes yesterday and knew there was only one cure; HK. Some of my favorites were missing in action; maybe because of the upcoming holidays. I have seen all manner of homemade contraptions these guys walk around with, to get tourists to challenge themselves to see how long they can hold the handles as the electicial charge is increased. They start low and then increase the charge, most times people will do it once, a few may try it again, the real slow learners keep trying. LOL.
Just one of those senseless things you got to say you did, kind of like eating the bacon-wrapped hot dogs from the cart.
Post a trip report about the chicas, that's the real attraction.

Ok. So I found my way to San Diego for the holidays and knew I had to get down to Tijuana after reading through these forums. I had time on Fri the 23rd. I contacted a buddy who lives in the area. And we headed toward the border. He had been to Tijuana but not for this purpose. He also had NO passport but indicated he had been able to get back before with just his drivers license. He was nervous and apprehensive about going, but I tried to reassure him they wouldn't NOT let him back (at least I hoped!). I had a passport.
Around 10PM we get off the last US exit and park at the first lot on the right, $7. I was in a brand new car (not mine or a rental) and was very apprehensive about leaving it in this lot, even with an attendant at the gate. But, the concerns were alleviated as I saw families and couples coming in and out of the lot. Some with suitcases as if there car had been there for an extended period. Walked out of the lot and really wasn't sure which way to go. So we followed all the Mexicans carrying bags of their what appeared to be Christmas presents. This led us to the gates.
As we approach the first set of turnstiles there were two uniformed offers. Not really sure what agency they were with. Assuming BP. We just walked right by them. They paid us no attention. As we were walking through this area we didn't notice any other gringos walking through at this time. We did see a couple chicas in mini skirts and a tight dress heading into Tijuana. We assumed they were working girls. Got to the Tijuana side. And immediately a couple little kids were on us asking us to buy gum. I said No Gracias but my friend hesitated. So the little kids stayed on him all the way to the cab area. LOL.
I knew from reading on here that it would / should cost $5 to get to the Zona Norte. Picked a yellow cab driver. Said 5 bucks to Hong Kong and he agreed. I jumped in the front and my buddy in the back. As we drove to the zone I paid attention to the surroundings. And I would not want to make that walk. Especially at night. Cab pulled up right in front of HK.
There were about 5 guys in front of us going into the club as well as what looked like a police officer at the door (could have been house security). Really no wait. Bought our entrance Tecate and walked in. Wow. It immediately reminded me of a high end strip club in my home town. But with about 5x the women! The club was fairly crowded but with enough room to still walk around. The music was loud so having conversation weren't easy. As we made our initial walk through, the shaving cream show must have just ended as girls covered in it were being helped off the back stage. I tried explaining to my friend that pretty much all the girls walking around were "available". He couldn't believe it. As we made our way around we were groped in the crotch by a couple of girls. I got to say I had a hard time sleeping that night. Just knowing a place like this existed and SOOOO close to the US. Wow, just wow. I blew up my friends the next telling them that we had to plan a trip just for Tijuana. And the next time I will do more. Like get a room. Maybe try an escort. A street girl. Eat a taco, LOL. And I didn't even get to another bar.

While the wife and I were staying in Tijuana in August, we decided to go out and enjoy some mongering together (not our first time). We had enjoyed ourselves in Hong Kong the night before, so went ahead and headed there again. We were there for maybe 20 minutes and received a mixture of odd glances and averted eyes. 1) It's the same room you access with a bucket of beers. With VIP, supposedly you get in free, but you still have to buy 7 or 8 ficha drinks for whatever girl goes with you. In theory, it's less than if you had to pay for your own beer plus hers.
2) Only the first dance is half off. I think you could get the same deal with the coupon from the website. Not sure.
3) It should double the time you get for a room. I think it doubles it from 20 to 40 minutes. Not certain on that, but I think I'm right. Also, if you stay there overnight, the percent off of the normal room price for an overnight stay is quite good. That easily pays for itself in a couple of visits.
4) 6 months.
Don't forget the free cab fare to the border. That's $5 each visit. The card does pay for itself if you're there more than 2 or 3 times.
It's a hassle to use it though. When you get there, if you want to buy your lapdance ticket or get discounted drinks or whatever, you give the card to your waiter, who (9 times out of 10) has no idea what it is or what to do with it. He gives it to his manager who takes it upstairs to photocopy it to make sure you haven't tried to use any of the benefits more than once per day. 10 minutes later he comes back with your card. And if you need cab fare at some odd hour, like 3am, and they don't have the normal hostess at the front door, they tell you they'll take care of you next time. Yeah. Right.
But all in all, I like the VIP card. The discounts do end up paying for themselves, and the extra room time is a great plus.

But I am burnt out on Mexican food, so that is the primary reason I shun Mexican restaurants (besides, TEX-MEX is fattening food and I am in the process of losing weight).

What you witnessed was a random health card check. This happened every weekend at the club that I used to own in Mexicali. They round up all of the girls and check to see if they have health cards. You never know when they will show up.

OK for those fearing Tijuana, or MX in general, I have to drop my dos pesos.
I've been an off and on visitor of the Zona for over 30 years. I've also lived along the Pacific Coast between Mazatlan and Acapulco for a total of five years. Never have had a bad experience. I eat the food on the streets, drink whatever the locals are drinking, smile a lot, and treat my hosts with respect. Got a traffic ticket in Cabo once for turning into a one way that was clearly marked, but I just didn't see the sign. This was back when most of the streets were dirt surfaced. Went to the station with the cop, paid the fine in cash, and was blown away when it showed up on my Cali DMV printout. And remember, NEVER EVER get anywhere near visibly drunk in public, but then what country would that be a great idea in after all?
I just drove across the border, as I always do. Parked across from Chicago (remember when it was the hottest place in town?) , in the $5 all night lot. Get there early enough (3-4) and you get a spot where you can keep your keys. Even if you have to leave them so they can move your car around it is a safe place to park. I seem to think there is a lull in the Northbound traffic around 7-8 in the evening so I am back in the US well before any of the late night scammers may be out looking for a target.
Tiffany at Hong Kong has been a favorite for the past couple years and tonight she decided to remind me that she is not only the sexiest lady in the Zona, but that she can be one of the most sensual as well. Recall this is a nation with a long history of revolution, and the current wars between the narco's and the cops would have me feeling way better wearing the flack jackets and automatic weapons they are carrying, if I were in the lousy position to be a cop in MX. My hat is off to these kids who choose to not join the gangs, and are willing to stand up in the face of the crazies out gunning them down. I've had the Federal Police search through my car full of camping gear very carefully in the past. I was able to overhear that they were looking for one thing only. Guns. A huge percentage of the guns the cops down South face come across the border, and I sure feel like they have a strong legal basis to check for them.
Don't be intimidated, or put off by the uniform of the day. It's the way it is, and always has been. The locals consider it a normal part of their society.
I'm not making excuses for the bad actors in uniform. I know they exist. I've just been lucky enough to never have to deal with them.
