Has anyone used spirit airlines and what do you think as I am in LA area and am thinking of using them.

TOMI have used them on approximately 10 trips to RD, Peru and CTG. Take food with you for the trip. Had a couple of late flights. All in all a good experience. I check their site just about daily for flights out of MCO to the promised lands. I use them and will use them again. I usually only take carry on luggage.

Has anyone figured out good pricing and easy flight connections from mid-atlantic east coast to either Bogota or Medellin?

Any help from travelers more savvy than me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

First trip to Colombia. Will probably stay in Laurelas area, but other lodging opinions / advice is welcome.

Any other ISG folks who'll be there at same time, please PM and we'll meet for a beer.

ISG folks who live in MDE, let me know if you need something from the States.

Thank You!The best rates I have found have always been through spirit, but it takes you only to Cartagena I believe. I'm not sure of Bogota. Try their website and you might find a good deal. Sometimes the trip is not direct from your city, but is very inexpensive to fly to one that does through them many times.

As soon as I get it I'll email you. I am planning to go to Peru during xmas since I'm going to Colombia again. They say is the best time out there for fun, but is a bad time for mongering since many girls go to their hometowns to enjoy the holidays. Anyways, I will be taking a short side trip to machu pichu and Lima and see what happens. For non-pro scene, I have a "girlfriend" in Medellin that would be happy to take us to all the dance places.

Thank You!I fly American so I go out of MIA (Miami) but I think ATL (Atlanta) has flights to Colombia. Dulles or Reagan out of Wash. D.C. may also serve your needs. A buddy of mine goes to Rio from there.

However, I won't vouch for their service. If you fly out from orlando, I would recommend whole heartedly Continental.

This entry would be a bit better in a general travel forum, so if anyone has one to recommend, let me know (I guess you can PM me if this would be against forum rules to post another site).

In travelling through Columbia, I'm mulling over whether to go from Bogota to the coast by air or overland (or go by air and return overland or viceversa).

I think I'm favoring going one way by air and one way overland at this point. I'd rather break the journey up into some smaller 5 to 10 hour trips. I'm thinking of stopping in Mompos and Medellin.

Any feedback is appreciated:

How are the buses and the scenery travelling overland? Maybe they're good enough to warrant doing both ways by bus.

Any particular routes recommended between Cartagena and Bogota? I'll definitely be taking day buses as the primary purpose will be to see the country and saving money is secondary.

Also does anyone have recommendations for flights? I think looking on Avianca and another airline they were both around 650K round trip (Bogota-Cartagena). Is that about the best I should expect?

Thanks much!

Avianca has a special right now, usually lasts for 2-3 days, for Cart-Bog and back, will cost about 440,000 pesos rount trip.

Bus service between cities? Specifically, I will be flying in to Cartegena (cheap on Spirit Air from Ft. Lauderdale), then visit Medellin and some other towns in central Colombia, an area I lived in 25 years ago. I have no clue what things are like now, so any recommendations on ground transport between cities in Colombia?

Has the FARC/ELN situation really cooled off? Those ELN b******s drove me out of the country in the first place, so my instinct is to fly from place to place, but I would rather go by bus and see it again.

KDFly, boys. If you have to ask, you do not belong in any of the buses with the possible exception of CTG-BAQ-Santa Marta.

The bus routes inland take along time because of the mountains. MDE-CTG is 12 hours if there are no landslides.

One time I rode the bus from Medellín to Manizales to Pereira to Armenia to Cali. The scenery was spectacular.

Them freeking bus drivers drive like maniacs though, especially scary on them narrow mountain roads.

Hi Jackson --

I responded to this giving two (non-mongering) sites which are good for travel advice but see it didn't get approved.

Could you clarify your rules about this please? Do non-mongering sites conflict with your interests here?

Thanks

EDITOR'S NOTE: The Forum's policy regarding the posting of links to other websites is clearly stated in the Forum FAQ, but I'll re-state it here for additional clarity:

1. You MAY post links to other websites that are purely informational, meaning websites that provide information in the way of text reports, maps, photos, etc.

2. You MAY post links to other websites that are essentially commercial in nature so long as they do not include pornographic material and do not charge a fee of any sort to view the website. Essentially, this means personal escort websites.

3. You MAY NOT post links to other websites that include a forum or blog of any sort, either as a part of the website or with a link to another website with a forum.

4. You MAY NOT post links to commercial websites that charge a fee of any sort.

If you want to start your own forum, then you can build your traffic the way I did, with hard work, big server bills, and a lot of time.

Repeated violations will result in the perpetrator being banned from the Forum.

Thanks much!I've done the Bog-CTG bus route 2 times already and it's breathtaking in terms of scenery and seeing a part of Colombia that you would otherwise not see if you only fly.

The thing is that is about a 20 hour busride. You go around mountains and rivers. It's not a direct route a la I-95 here in US, where you can drive from Miami to NY in a straight line. So if that's too long for you then I would fly.

But if you want to enjoy scenery and just do something different then do it. It's safe and very interesting.

I would recomend you book with one of the more luxury buses though, one with AC and comfortable reclining chairs. I think I paid anywhere between 80.000 to 100.00 COP for a one-way.

After almost 3 years of practice with Colombianas in St Maarten and learning Spanish and posting a ton of reports, I am finally following the lead of my friends Routard and Mel365 and taking the plunge to Colombia. Arrive in Bogota 22 July and leave 14 August. Switch to Medellin July 27 to August 1. Rest of my time is unplanned so far.

I plan to visit a few girls that I met in St Maarten, and visit some casas and massage places.

But my main goal for the trip is to meet non-pros and try to bed them. Sort of a final exam in recovering from my teenage insecuriy around girls.

if anyone else from ISG is around, it would be great to meet and exchange war stories. PM me.

Mongers,

I will be in Medellin beginning on Tuesday, July 22 until Sunday, July 27 and will be renting an apartment in Poblado. I am a young mid 20's guy and I will be traveling with my cousin of similar age, so we will be doing both pro and non-pro mongering. I speak fluent Spanish (I own El Alamo in Buenos Aires) and I was in Medellin back in November/December 2007 so I know the territory. Any full time Medellin Spanish fluent guys who want to meet up to hit some non-pro spots, PM me, I promise my cousin and I are top wingmen. In addition, we will be heading to Leticia on the Amazon River so any recommendations of any kind on that town would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

I've been lurking for a couple of months, and just reserved a room at the Mansion for 16 to 23 September. I thought about staying elsewhere, particularly a penthouse with a nice view, but given my rudimentary Spanish and the fact this is my first mongering trip I thought the Mansion a better choice.

I look forward to seeing you all there -- though I notice the owner of El Alamo in Buenos Aires (a great place!) has already gone to Colombia and left. Too bad, it would have been great to see a familiar face!

ANOTHER thing I am thinking about - I am thinking of renting a 2BR apartment, very nice and posh near Parque 93 and Zona Rosa. If anyone is thinking about coming to stay in Bogota for a longer period of time (e.g., 2-3 wks) and is interested in staying with me (would be much cheaper and nicer than a hotel and in the best areas and I wouldn't mind the company) please feel free to PM me as well.

Myself and a buddy will be in Cali for Feria de Cali this year. Arriving on Xmas day and departing on Jan 3rd. I have only visited Cali once before for a short period but I was with a novia and had no chance to pursue extracurricular activities.

Would love to share a cerveza or three with any of the Cali regs who may be visiting at this time as well. Also if anyone has any useful info regarding the Cali scene would love to hear it. I have spent too much time in Medellin the last 16 months and need a new city.

Hey guys!

I will be in MDE early October and late November with some of my friends. If any of you guys want to meet up for a beer or cold water (I don't drink while out) and compare notes on casas and maybe discover some new ones since there seems to always be some new ones to find let me know.

I will have a report on Frank's place and another advertised place both of which have no reports here that I can find. I am also working on securing an apartment for my November trip unless the Castillo is still having their special which would be a clincher for me! I will have a spot in Centro for a few days as a casa pit stop since they are so cheap. Between the two trips, I hope to have some new information to offer you guys reading the Medellin threads.

Fell free to PM me with any comments or suggestions guys.

THTuggin, you are in a great spot(FL) for traveling to Central & South America.

You would want to sign up for the newsletters at all the major airlines to get the best deals.

Some of my favorites are:

sidestep.com
farecompare.com (they receive the fares before almost all the other sites)
travelzoo.com
skyauction.com (my secret weapon)

There are several others however the above should get what you want.

Hello,

QUESTION: I was thinking about flying into Quito, traveling by bus to Medellin and/or Cartagena, and then flying home from there. Is this advisable or should I spend the entire trip in Colombia? With the recently rising value of the dollar, where do I get more "bang for my buck"? Should I consider visiting Cali too?

ABOUT ME: I've mongered in Brazil, Europe, China and Philippines but not in other parts of South America. (I once visited Argentina and Uruguay on a non-mongering trip with a European GF.) I speak some Portuguese but not Spanish. Having enjoyed the company of Paisa's in Spain and Canada, I've often dreamed of mongering in Colombia and other South American countries. With luck, I'll be able to do so for 2-3 weeks in late November. I'm young-looking and reasonably attractive for my age (mid-50's, 5'6", white) and I prefer petite women (5'2" or less is great) of any race with a slim-to-medium build and sparkling eyes/attitude/smile.

Thanks!

Hello,

QUESTION: I was thinking about flying into Quito, traveling by bus to Medellin and/or Cartagena, and then flying home from there. Is this advisable or should I spend the entire trip in Colombia? Are you insane? There's a war going on and you're proposing to take a bus through the middle of it?

Apologies for the language but you're not the first person to suggest this and whilst others might disagree I think its madness brought on by lack of even the most basic research. Or maybe the lack of decent education in our schools.

Stay in Ecuador. Or fly between islands of comparative safety in Colombia. But do your research or you'll become another statistic.

I'll be shooting down to Cartagena for a couple of weeks on the 23rd of Oct. This will be my 6th visit to the city and I'd be happy to share a beer or a bourbon along with a few stories/info with a fellow monger or two. I always stay at Mirador del Laguito and would enjoy havin' a couple cold ones at what Tom33 and Jim call their office in front of Playa Mar.

I expect that my PM feature will start working in the next week or so---I sent the subscription fee (plus handling charge) by mail instead of paying with credit card.

Just let me know, and I'll send a PM when activated.

Thanks for the awesome posts on this forum. I will be in bogota from 18 Oct and I will be staying at the la fontana hotel. Would any of you be able to advise whether this hotel is in a good location and whether it is chica friendly.

The location's good though apart from this aspect.

CF? dunno. I would guess that discretion would be called for.

Are you insane? There's a war going on and you're proposing to take a bus through the middle of it?

[snip]

Stay in Ecuador. Or fly between islands of comparative safety in Colombia. But do your research or you'll become another statistic.Dear AddictedToWomen and LuckyEddie,

Thanks for your concerns. I am inspired in part by Tungurahua's travels along this same route (only this past summer) as reported here; see "Reports of Distinction". In one of his fine posts, he comments on the issue of safety in Colombia and points out that it has 6x the murder rate of the US. Specifically, Colombia had 35 murders per 100,000 in 2007 (down from about 66 murders per 100,000 in 2002) while the US had 5.7 murders per 100,000 in 2007.

By comparison, Brazil currently has 24 murders per 100,000 and Ecuador currently has about 18 murders per 100,000...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_murder_rate

I've felt safe enough during my solo travels along Brazil's coast (excluding Sao Paulo but including Rio, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, and Recife among other cities) and would not hesitate to return. Further, I spoke no Portuguese on my initial solo trip which started in Recife (and Recife now has one of the highest murder rates in all Brazil). Maybe I was just lucky.

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1072.html

That said, I appreciate your cautions and will do more research on safety issues before committing to a schedule... if I do end up traveling overland by bus (and not flying, as you recommend) I will exercise caution and try not to be a target.

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1090.html

So, supposing I fly between cities, any other suggestions?

I didn't expect to come back to medellin so soon but recent internet prospects and a cheap centro scene got me thinking. I am willing to give it another shot.

If I can land at least one or two of these internet girls it could turn my trip into a whole other experience.

If anyone is around please let me know. If I can help anyone please let me know. I was just there in june with the mighty "tung" for 18 days. He trained me well.

I look forward to it.

1. Dolce Vita (casino in Bocagrande). Is a bar but the pro are there. You can choise and then go your hotel. Price U$80. $140. No more.

2. Candela (tower) is a place same like Dolce. But the girls less atractive.

3. Playboy I did nt like.

The girls are expecting if yiu wants to stay a long time.

Looking for leads as far as hotels and the best places to hit. We are young americans working in Manta, Ecudador. Currently, plane tickets are cheap from Quito, so we decided to see what in Columbia. We wanted to go to Cali, but the plane tickets were almost triple. Anyone willing to show the ropes to 2 early 30's males? We are also willing to show folks around Manta, Guyaquil, or Quito when you come into Ecuador. PM me.

Hey friends,

Action is pretty good here----picked up a couple of 8-9 at the three main clubs on the Island. Prices reasonable at $30 for half h and $50 for hour or $120 for whole night. Very satisfied. Will post excellent pics when I return home.

Cheers all.

I'm a new member to the board, will be in Medellin for the first time next week (Nov 9th - 12th), likely staying in a hotel in Laureles. I've been to Bogota before, and though I'm a white 40s American speak Spanish almost like a native. I've done a lot of Latin America, but am looking forward to the paradise that MDE supposedly is.

There's a ton of information on this board, but I'm still trying to figure out a few things in order to maximize the two days/three nights I have to play. Prices seem cheap enough in Medellin so that I can aim at the higher end (but not what the online prepagos are asking for!)---in other words, I want to be spending my time inside 8s and 9s.

1. What's the best place to find a total hottie GFE for TLN action?

2. Late night Sunday, what's the best place to find a chica to take back to my hotel in Laureles?

3. Among the casas, strip joints, massage places, whatever, what are the places I should focus on for just two days?

Again, I'm trying to strike a balance between the overprices tourist scene and the hardcore street scene (though, hey, a little street action can always be fun).

Finally, if there are any fellow mongers who are going to be around in MDE those dates, let me know.

Are you going to Cartagena and want to know if its best to fly or the best way to fly?

If you are going to Cartagena I would say the best way is to fly. By land it will take about 14 hours no to mention that it would be through very curvy roads over the mountains.

As to best flights, take a look at aero-republica, avianca, and aires websites and see what are the best rates for the days you are planning on going. However, they might be quite expensive for the next few days.

Wondering specifically about Medellin and Cali.Colombian Catholics look at Easter week as a huge party. Thursday through Monday are holidays. Many people head for the coast or warmer climes(e.g. Santa Fe de Antioquia or San Jerónimo for Medellín) for the whole week.

Since Lent is not officially over until Easter Sunday, my guess is that the earlier part of Lent isn't taken very seriously either.

Thanks a lot :)You probably won't need it all but to cover delays, immigration, baggage collection, customs and transfer to the other terminal I wouldn't like to try it in under 3 hours.

If you fly via the US (maybe just on Avianca?) there's a new fast-path connection service, but check the websites to see if that applies ex-Madrid.

Thanks a lot :)An hour and a half is just enough time if you are connecting with the same airline but if you are connecting with a different airline thats pretty tight and if your flight is late you're fat#ked. I go through Bogota every month and won't book a flight that doesn't have at least two hours between flights.

Thanks a lot :)Upon leaving CTG and even more so in Cali expect your bags to be checked many times. In Cali They use drug dogs and if they do not like your looks they will make you submit to a stomach x-ray. IMHO a person would have to be nuts to try and smuggle anything out of Colombia.

Thanks a lot :)The only time I have been strip searched was arriving in CTG on a late delayed flight and the airport was empty. I was literally the last person off the plane and had gone through what I thought was the last of their bag checks when one of the policia's noticed my then 20 yr. Old "novia" standing all alone waiting for me all hot looking and dressed to kill. He must of been jealous because next thing I know it he's dragging me off to the private search area and I was stripped down to my birthday suit. Last laugh was on him though because when they got through with me I still got to go to my hotel with a girl 25 years younger than me for some awesome sex!

I no longer have a chica meet me at the airport no matter what city I fly into, I don't want the added attention and/or scrutiny.

If anyone wants any information on either of these areas, or wants to get together for a drink, send me a p.m. As of this time, I am not sure how long I will be in Cartagena, as I am considering spending some time in Santa Marta/Rodadero.

Don't waste time looking for any particular girl. Love the one you find!!

I am in Laguito right now, and the place is crawling with pussy.Absolutely GREAT advice.

Seems that numerous times I've gone looking for a particular chica (PFP), I've ended up with another, at least as nice as the last.

I'm a local living in Bogota who enjoys mongering. Attented grad school in the US so I'm familiar with the language. Would be nice to exchange ideas/knowledge about the local scene and hang out, so if interested PM me. I'm not into touring newbies but hope to share my recommendations with all of you.

Mongers-

I will be in Medellin arriving April 29 and leaving on May 5th. I have been to Medellin several times over the past year or so and I know the scene pretty well, and as I live in Buenos Aires, I speak fluent Spanish. I'd be down to meet up with several of the well known (spanish speaking) Colombia regulars for some non-pro and pro adventures.

PM me if interested.

Let me introduce myself first.

I am Korean living in korea right now.

Few weeks ago I met this ecuadorian kid (he is in military). We became pretty close I guess. And chatted for quite long.

Among all the things we talked about. There was this prostitution industries we discussed. He told me lot of things about south america (mainly ecuador), especially guayaquil where he is from.

I have been enjoying korean prostitution system (massage and karaokes etc) however ecuador really sounded like a paradise to me. Really wanting to go. Haha.

So I am planning a trip with my friend (also korean) to south america. So here I am. Posting questions on this forum

1. Is columbia considered to be dangerous for asians? (two asian men walking on a street on daytime would be fine iguess? What about at night time? )

2. Would chicas (haha I learned this) be afraid? Skeptical? Unwilling? To deal with pure asians like us?

3. How much do we need for each person if we wanted to enjoy our trip (of course sexually) for two weeks. (1~2 event everyday. Variety of events from cheap to luxury)

4. I really want to try orgy (not really available in korea). Ecuadorian kid told me about inviting like 4 7 chicas from some kind of club to our hotel suite and have orgy-like party overnight. How much would this kind of event will cost?

5. Assuming flight costs are the same among south american countries from korea, any better places? (Argentina looks like great place too) you know like quality of girls. Bang for the buck.

Looking forward to get quality answers. THANKS!

PS anyone planning to visit korea. I will be able to answer most of the questions.

PS anyone planning to visit korea. I will be able to answer most of the questions.LOL I am Korean myself. I've traveled most of major mongering destination in South America except for Colombia and Venezuela.

I plan to visit Medellin for 1 week during 1st two weeks of June.

1. From what I read, the city doesn't seem to be more dangerous than other Latin American cities I've traveled. Basically you will stand out as much as or even more than black and white people. I would say stay away from shady area (dark, night) and stay in group to avoid trouble in any Latin American cities.

2. No. Money is money and that is what drives them unless you look really attractive or repulsive. Good looks+ good negotiation skill = less cost or more service.

3. depends on the place you stay and what you eat and who/where you get girl.

People tend to go over budget very frequently. My maximum budget I set for myself is $100/day which include hotel, food, girl. I am sure you can get a day taken care with $50 including food, hotel, sex. Only reason I set mine at $100 is because I tend to do 3-5 girls a day and I plan on 2-3 girls minimum per day basis.

4. no idea. I am sure you can arrange it if you speak enough spanish. From my experience 2 girls cost less per girl than 1 girl alone. For example 1 girl who would normally cost 80-100 in SJO,CR can cost 150 or less for two.

5. This answer will depend strictly on your sex style. If you want more GFE, Rio, Paraguay, Buenos Aires, Sosua would be on top part of my list while more quantity and less gfe quick bang and leave- Ecuador, Peru, would be on top part of my list.
Bottom line, Best bang for the buck with GFE- Asuncion, Paraguay($25 can get u pretty, young and willing girl for 1hr) and best bang for the buck with out GFE- Ecuador(good quality pussy can be had for $6-$8 mostly 10-15 min)

Kick123,

Miami is no better. I took a lot of crap myself for coming from Colombia. The guy who questioned me and looked through my suitcases asked me all sorts of ridiculous questions like who did you go there with? What are their names? What are their ages? Who did you see there? I have nothing to hide and hate that kind of treatment by authority figures anyway so I told the guy to f**k off. He then left with my passport for a good 20 minutes, don't know what he did with it. My cellphone rang in the meantime and the supervisor said no cellphones allowed in here. I told him to f**k off too. My interagator eventually came back and gave me my passport and I left. The whole process took a good 45 minutes at least. The only thing I regret is not spitting in the guy's face. Serious assholes they were.

Miami and Atlanta seem a bit better, but maybe somewhere less traveled like Houston would be better still?

The best plan of all of course is to avoid flying through the US with its antiquated systems wherever possible.

Returning from Spain into Philadelphia, I got the questionable single male traveler treatment with a look through my camera and laptop. Returning from Thailand into New York a few month later, I got the "welcome back Professor please keep moving" from a cutie.

I treat them all with a polite indifference that borders on contempt. Last, I smile like my Thailand gf taught me.

I suspect it's not really worth the hassle, I should just jump in a taxi, right?

I could care less how many stamps or extra pages you have on your passport too. I'm not impressed and that is obviously your intention by even mentioning such. I have been around the world too and the only time I have EVER had any problem was coming back from Colombia.

If some guy asked you all kinds of highly intrusive questions and demanded that you answer them, made you open all of your unopened packages and gifts completely ruining them in the process and looked through EVERY single picture on your digital camera and laptop, I think you may feel different. I too always got the "welcome home" from the guy at customs desk no matter what country I was coming from.coming from Colombia though and being alone (and male) I was unfairly scrutinized and targeted. Like I said I have nothing to hide from these people but you have NO right to DEMAND that I answer who I was with, what are their names, what are their ages, where do they live, etc. Next time it happens, if it happens, you will read about who gets their ass beat to a pulp and it won't be me.

I have been on many trips all around the world and sometimes expected to be searched coming back from places like Amsterdam and Costa Rica. However I didn't get searched, and of all places I come back from Canada, and I get searched. These people are just doing their jobs, and their jobs sometimes is to be pricks. I'm making my first foray into coffee country. Pereira, Manizales and Armenia from May 22 to 31. I'm fluent spanish and well travelled in the region with 8 years of living in Latin America. I've got probably 15 Colombia trips under my belt. I would not mind meeting up with someone cool during my time there. I really am only looking for someone who has some game, presents well, and prefers chasing non pros. My philosophy is that the pros a a plan B and the regular girls are plan A. PM me if you're in the same mindset and interested in an adventure.

Upload your photos to the internet in Colombia and then empty your cameras.

Then you have nothing to worry about. Not questions etc.Bringing back EMPTY CAMERAS is worse! You should leave some touristy photos on there along with some candids. They find just one questionable or provocative photo on there .. It gives them probable cause to bust your balls as hard and as long as they wish too.

...you have NO right to DEMAND that I answer who I was with, what are their names, what are their ages, where do they live, etc. Next time it happens, if it happens, you will read about who gets their ass beat to a pulp and it won't be me.A sad experience indeed, but, I hope you realize that, them being Customs and Immigration officials, they have the ABSOLUTE right to ask whatever questions, no matter how intrusive they may seem to try to determine whether you are up to no good. You never know if you fit a profile of someone specific they were looking for (not to be confused with blanket profiling of a race or ethnic group). If you attempt to get violent or even non-compliant, there is no question...YOU will get your ass beat, shot, and/or put in jail. In my opinion, not even worth it; especially when you can make up answers. Its not like they're asking if you have a 2 inch dick and how long can you hang in bed! Customs can be frustrating for all of us (I for one, hate walking damn near a mile from the gate where I deplane to the Immigration desks at MIA). Would hate to lose a fellow mongerer to some misplaced and INEFFECTIVE machismo...hobby safe!

Gents,

Just booked a Spirit Airlines flight from MIA to Medellin for $159. This will be my first time on Spirit and I was just wondering if there were any issues, nuances, problems that I should expect. I was surprised to see that they wanted me to pay for my seat selection, which I thought was a little much. Wondering if they have a tendency toward losing baggage or not.

Mini,

When are you going?

I have flown Spirit to many locations (never Colombia) and their scheduling/delays sometimes suck. But as long as you get their roughly the recommended 2 hrs ahead you will have no problems.

Just bring carry-on. It's free. They will assign you a free seat when you check-in, no worries.

Still trying to resist what would be my first trip down there.I was thinking about maybe early August, as these $400 round trip tickets can't be resisted much longer. I was also mulling over either staying at the Mansion or some place similar.being your 5th time, would you still say that's the best bet?

Also in my upper 20s, horrible Spanish (that's why I'm planning out; to give myself plenty of time to brush up with Rosetta stone), but am ready to start making some of these travel dreams happen.

Anyhoo, might hit you back up to see if you're still looking for a wingman.

RodeoSpirit Airlines Rules as far as Cheap tickets, everything else is ghetto. You will have to pay for Luggage, however I carry on luggage all the time. No snacks or refreshments, but I always buy combos and soda, to give them some extra profit dollars. Make sure you get to the gate early, and paying for your seats is OPTIONAL and I would only do it for Domestic flights since they will allow you to print your boarding pass, and skip the front desk and go straight to boarding. If you live in the South Florida area, you should be a Spirit Junkee like myself. I have heard many horror stories of lost luggage with people With connecting flights, but personally I have never had any MAJOR problems with spirit.

Flown on Spirit 4 times Ctg. Don't pay for seat. I am surprised they never lost my baggage with 45.30 minute connections. They do tend to hold planes if plane comes in a little late which if its you connecting and running late. Airport in Fll so small only takes couple minutes. Don't forget to hit duty free shop on way south for Rum or Vodka dirt cheap for entertaining a little.

Hi folks,

Will be in town for a few weeks in July. It's not my first trip. Could some kind sole (a regular on the Colombia thread probably) suggest some good strip/lap clubs. I did read some reports a year or so back, but can't find them.

Thanks in advance.

Also does anyone know a farmacia where you can buy generic viagra over the counter, such as Biofort-M (from Argentina and can recommend FWIW).

Finally I don't suppose there is a 24 hour internet or wifi place in town.

Will be there around 9 July if anyone wants to meet.

A week from now, I will leave for two months in the Cleavage Capital. In other words, I will spend the months of July and August in Colombia. I will begin in Medellin and then move on to Pereira, Manizales and Cali.

I am interested in meeting any pussy-focused Gringos who want a wingman. I am as fluent in Spanish as any non-Hispanic I have met in Latin America. I have spent somewhere between two years and three years of travel in Latin America. I have spent those years of travel in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba and Peru. I also have lived for many years in Miami and Orlando. This does not make me an expert on anything, but it does mean I can separate shit from Shinola.

That's what I bring to the table as a wingman. What three requirements do you need to bring to the table as a wingman? First, you need to be pussy-focused. "Pussy-focused" means you are willing to meet and interact with non-prostitutes. The social contexts for meeting and interacting with non-prostitutes can vary based on your personal preferences.

Second, you need to be pussy-focused. Note that "pussy-focused" does not mean holding your hand as we visit brothels together. I have nothing against brothels. There is a time and place for brothels. However, brothels are not my priority and I don't need a wingman to visit brothels. I can shoot caged lions on my own.

Third, you need to be pussy-focused. That's it. That's all.

My question to all of you is:

*Can you find a good city map of Cali when you get there? There are several online but you can't print them out. I could buy a travel book but I only need the map!

I hear mixed reviews about Cali but at least I am not spending 22 days on the ecuador coast.

My buddy and I were there and the tides were so high that there was flooding everywhere. Just after we left it rained. You would need a boat to get into El Centro.

I'm going to be visiting Cartagena with 4 of my buddies in the beginning of Sept. I'm guessing it rains a bit during that time. Does that keep the chicas away or does it not really matter?

I am in Bogota until August 23 if anyone needs a wingman. Been to this city many times so I know my way around.

I will be in Santa Marta Sept. 16-20, then Bogota Sept. 20-25 before heading off to Lima. Let me know if anyone is going to be around and I'll buy you a drink.

Unfortunately my low back went out on me and I had to cancel my trip. I was supposed to be in ecuador as I write this.

Thank you for the help regardless. I am researching a mexican border town trip starting in Tijuana for October.

Nothing is more painful than knowing a plane has taken off and YOU aren't on it.

So it goes.

Two questions.

Making my maiden voyage to Bogota. I'll be in the area sept 8-16. Anyone else around that'd like to grab a beer or something?

Also I was just about my money cheat sheet. Anyone know which currency converter is the most up to date/accurate? Oanda shows 1:2022. xe has it at 2029. yet Yahoo has it 2044.
