.I just booked a trip to Cebu in late August with Expedia from NYC. Cost was $1425.22 hours going. 25 hours coming back. JFK direct to Seoul. Then Seoul to Cebu.

Very cheap. But the best was the 4 nights I booked at the Quest hotel for $45 a night average.

I gave up on Philippine Air and such. Their prices are ridiculous.

What airlines are your guys using from the US? Can't go wrong using Google Flights. If you put in ORD to MNL and then click on the date a calendar will pop up showing the least expensive fares by departure date. Cheapest current August fare for a two-week stay (8/31-9/13) is $1,114. That's Delta via Detroit and Seoul on the way out, and Korean Air via Seoul on the way back, roughly 25 hours of travel time each way (not great, but not terrible).

Next available sub-$1000 fares from ORD are not until last week of September, but those are for a Turkish Air route through Istanbul which requires 32 hours of travel time.

Singapore Air and Saudia have both been sub-$1000 out of JFK in September, but are suboptimal routes (to wit: JFK-Frankfurt-Singapore-MNL, 36 hours) and (JFK-Jetta-MNL, 34 hours). I would never want to give the Saudi government so much as a dime of my money, but if you're looking for OFW mongering opportunities, you could do worse than the Jeddah-MNL flight.
