I am planning my first trip to Panama around the 23rd of May. I am 61 years young, and am of course into mongering, and like to check out new faces and places.
I should be in Panama about 1 week, then on to Costa Rica for my 5th trip there.

I would like to meet up with any other forum member who perhaps has been there before and knows the lay of the land around Panama City. Please PM me if you are going to be in Panama around that time. Last of May 2006.

Not sure whether the Private Message feature works for me or not, it did a few months ago but recently it's had issues. Shoot me a PM anyways.

Hey Guys,

I will be making another trip to Panama in a couple of days. I am thinking of leaving Thur. 7/20/06 for Panama City.

Anyone going to be there at the same time around July 20 - 24/25 give me a holler, and we can hook up.

I am not an expert on Panama ......yet, but do know some good spots to hang out and have fun.

PM me if you will be going about the same time.

I will also probably go to David, Panama too, as well as Jaco Beach and San Jose in CR.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Update 7/19/06 ..........

I was contacted by Jim B. from Texas about meeting in Panama City.
Jim and I will meet at Veneto's Casino - in the lobby - between 6 and 6:30 PM Saturday evening - 7/22/06.
We don't have any plans except to perhaps go acrosss the street to Manolo's Restaurant for a bite to eat, and then hang out later, checking out several of the casinos, night spots, and of course - the 'chicas'.

If you are around, please stop by and join us...........Steve

I am going to David again this week end for a couple of weeks if anyone wants to meet up and learn the area. Steve I tried to pm you but you need to read your messages and clean out your mail box. David is starting to hop. I hear there are some really great things in the making - A new upscale club. Just a rumor but from a reliable source. Hope to meet up with some of you in Chiriqui

Does anyone know a good local guide/boat on the Azuero Peninsula? It is the bump between Panama City and David; think Santiago area. I will be down next week visiting my in-laws so mongering will be impossible. If I can't chase women, I might as well fish. The shelf is only a few miles out from the beach along the peninsula so the billfishing is great. They are often caught by the locals on handlines.

If anyone knows a local guide, it would be appreciated. There are a couple new tourist operations but I think it is more fun to fish a local panga.

Have read many of your posts and I thank you all for participating. I am going to be in Costa Rica for Aug 31 Sept 1 and 2 then off to Panama for my first time. I will be there a week! Plan to do a lot of traveling the country. Any help or ideas would be great. If anyone else is in town I would love to hang out and see what we can find. I love non pros and like to see what I can find in that area but of course go with the pros when that does not work out. PM me and lets get together.

I hope to go see the Kula, David, River rafting, The Canal, Bocas Islands and maybe more. Of course Panama city also.

Are disco clubs open on weekdays and is there any action?

thanks for the offer fantasy, sorry i didn't get it in time.

we went fishing out of pedaci. there is a decent guide who lives across from the gas station. his panga was $50 a day plus gas. it all worked out to $90 per trip.

the motel across from the bank is nice and the ac works.

we brought our own fishing poles but there is a nearby scuba shop that rents them for $50 per day (too much).

billfish are out of season but we had fun. i may try to get back around christmas when fishing is better. don't bring lures, buy the rapellas that are active locally at the scuba shop.

watch out for a speed trap coming into las tablas! the guy must be trying to make his car payment, etc. he stopped me but let me go for free after a bit of chatting.

good luck,

Experienced in Costa Rica, Thailand and the US, but never been to Panama. I arrive on Dec 28 and depart New Years Day. I am staying at the Venento and hear there is plenty to keep me busy in the general area. Nice to know there is some talent parked-out in the bar downstairs. LOL

I am wondering if there are any experienced Panama experienced mongers that will be in-town during that timeframe and available to share your experiences? I will gladly buy lunch/dinner and drinks if someone is interested.

Elusive,

There are a few hotels literally RIGHT across the street from The Veneto. Also many that are walking distance (one block or so), BUT I would not call them "upscale". The closest "upscale" hotel that is walking distance from The Veneto is The Marriot. A relaxed walk will take you about 10 mins maybe. Actually The Crowne Plaza hotel is about a small walk closer to The Veneto BUT not as "upscale" as the Marriot. Not to mention The Marriot is connected to The Royal Casino, close to Habanos (See the Panama City Forum), and Champs (pretty good food) which is inside the hotel. If I were you, I would go with The Marriot.

Directly kitty corner from the Veneto (around 40 meters walk door to door) is the Las Vegas Suites - a perfectly decent, guest friendly place, which had a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, hot plate, sink) in the room. Their base rate is $50/night, but if you book 7 days, it's down to $35/night, and you can get a corporate rate down to $30/night. Quite a decent bargain. A bit nicer is the Torres de Alba Suites, on one of the other corners of the same intersection, but that's more like $75/night. I've heard that Torres de Alba Suites is very nice. It certainly appears to be very nice, but I expect that the service level is more like an upscale serviced apartment suite than a full service 4* hotel. Again, this is around 40 meters from the Veneto entrance. The Crown Hotel & Casino (NOT Crown Plaza) is around 2 blocks from the Veneto, and has it's own Casino, but it's a notch below that of the Veneto. The Crown Plaza is also in the same neighborhood.

None of these are quite as nice or anywhere near as expensive as the Veneto or Marriott. There are another 3 or 4 places within a block of the Veneto down the same street as the Las Vegas Suites, ranging from $35/night to $70/night. Among these were the Hotel Milan and the Sevillas Suites, still a short (1 block or so) walk to the Veneto Casino. I can't speak to the girl-friendliness or quality of any of these other than the Vegas Suites, but I certainly felt that the Vegas Suites was excellent value and quite conveniently located. I would suggest that, if you wish to use the Veneto Casino as your base of operations, the best choices are either Torres de Alba Suites or Sevillas Suites, or, for the more frugal budget, the Vegas Suites.

Keep in mind that Carnaval in Panama runs from 17 February until the 21st, for a week before and after those dates, finding a Hotel without a reservation is going to be extremely difficult.

Anyone have any opinions on Hotel Milan located at Calle Eusebio A. Morales? There rates appear to be very reasonable and they get pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor. I'm also wondering if they are chica friendly(Trip Advisor makes no mention of that! lol). I'll be visiting Panama City the first week of August and also hope they have reasonable air conditioning.

Free here,

All I can say is MAKE SURE you book in ADVANCE. The hotel itself is centrally located and always seems to be booked!! So get your room way in advance. The rates should be listed on the site. I did have a slight problem with them once. My friend, a MALE, was staying at the hotel. I went to pick him up one afternoon and they WOULD NOT let me go upstairs to get him. BUT during the evening I had no problem going up to his room, somewhat weird. I say that to say just MAKE SURE you explain to them you will be having guest, and discuss the fee, if there is one.

I have stayed at the Hotel Las Vegas and Veto Casino for about 2 years, 10 trips in all, frankly the Las Vegas Suites were a bit run down, yeah the suites are large but overall not very nice. So i switched the the Veneto my last 6 stays, but the price kept increasing from 79 a night to 119 my last stay in February. Then the Veneto closed for a week and reopened with rates starting at $149, so I started looked for alternatives. I will try to Hotel Milan. My reservation is at $38.50 a night, I will arrive on saturday April 14, and I'll post a review when I return late April.

Also, with a 10 year property tax empemption, I'm glad I'm buying a apartment (estimated completion October 08) my last Veneto bill was $2, 000 for a two week stay. (taxes and extra person fee). My carrying (dues plus uitliities) cost on the apartment with be $200 a month. Since I go down so often, the apartment is justified. And its 3 blocks from the Veneto.

Its due to the pensionado, jubilado program mate! You say you bought property in PTY, will you be a "pensioando" soon? All the cool people are doing it! That's why they are considering changing the law to require Colombianans to have Visas before they enter the country - its to protect the sacred American retirees!

If you can claim only $500 a month of irrevocable fixed income from a govt agency or private co (may be going up to $800 soon) you qualify! When you become a "Resident Jubilado" here are the

advantages...http://www.panamalaw.org/panama_pensionado_visa.html

Price of the Veneto Hotel in PTY ....$149 a night. Wow that's alot! :(

Minus a %50 discount for "Jubilados", minus $25 a night because I know the manager of that property and he gives me a reduced rate. By January 1st, 2008 my price at the Veneto will be $50 a night incl. guest!

I'll be in Panama City for the first time from June 14-20th. Send me a message if you're in town and I'd be happy to buy you a drink. I have some great stories of Costa Rica to tell.

Also, does anyone have some advice for choosing a hotel? Veneto seems to be too expensive; are you still allowed to hang out in the casino if you're staying somewhere else? I was thinking of either staying at el Panama or Royal Decameron.

Also, anyone have any advice on getting a female companion to go to the beach for a day or two with me?

Greetings Skynet 21,

I am here to help you.

The choice of hotels is vast and we all have our different choices and favorites. I advise to stay as close to the Veneto as possible due to the fine choices of independents that hang out at the Veneto. Veneto is a great place to hang out even if you are just there to watch. However, after about 10 minutes, the watching will turn into negotiating!

Try these, in no particular order and all guest friendly:

Hotel Milan (need a Spanish speaker to make the reservations by phone).
Sevilla Suites (nice basic place with pool)
El Parador (motel 6 quality)
Las Vegas (right across the street fron Veneto-spartan and a bit noisey)
Coral Suites (nice basic with pool)
Marbella Suites (nice basic-not sure if they have a pool)
Ambasador Suites (nice basic place-I think they have a pool)

The Decameron is an hour and a half away. Find a girl at the Veneto or at the Havana Cafe/Cigar Bar accross the street from the Marriott. Invite her to go with you to the Decameron. As it is all inclusive, she will be able to drink all she wants and hang out at the pool and have a good time. Then after that it will be time for you to have a good time with her!

Don't pay them over $100 a day for the Decameron trip, less if your negotiating skills are good. Stay two nights at Decameron. One night is just not enough time to recoup your investment.

Be safe and treat the girls with respect,

Viva Chicas

Thanks for the help. After doing some more research, I've heard that Sevilla Suites and Hotel Milan aren't chica friendly.

So far it sounds like Veneto, el Panama and Las Vegas are the top choices. Las Vegas may be a good choice and it is cheap but I've read some people say it is too noisy and not very clean. Maybe someone else can explain this... Not sure about the other hotels... Is it fair to say el Panama is chica friendly given that sometimes working girls go there? Do you recommend staying at the Cabanas?

I will be returning to Panama on June 4th for the first time since 2005. Not really a mongering trip, but always have to do a little of that while I am there. If anyone wants to meet for a beer, let me know. I will have access to a couple of my wife's nieces while there. Haven't seen them in a while, I hear one is kind of chubby now. Current plans are to arrive Oct 22nd and depart 28th. Probably staying at the "Courtyard" hotel (part of the Marriott chain) - but might stay at the (no pun intended) full-service Marriott. I'm worried that the "big" Marriott might charge extra for guests brought up to the room, or that they might prevent "special" visitors altogether. That happened to me at the Renaissance Hotel in Sao Paulo one time, and I was so mad (I'm a Platinum status member so I'm not used to being told No at the front desk).

If anyone plans to be down there 10/22 - 10/28, send me a PM and I'll correspond with you.

No problem at either of the Marriott's.

Always smile to the bellhops and security everytime you see them.

Talk with them a little about the happenings of the day.

Get to be their buddy everytime you go by.

Then, when you bring your friend back with you, you will just sail right past them with no problem.

Just be low key about it and walk directly to the elevator and up to your room.

Only one time did they ask the girl for ID at the front counter. After they took her info, we headed to the elevator and went to the room.

No problems.

The big Marriott is close to the action. The Courtyard is not and will require
a taxi everytime.

Hope that helps.

there's a bag of mixed feelings here for the courtyard. Some say they've had no problems with guests, others that they had to register maybe pay for the guest.
My advice is going for the best best and book an hotel referred here in the board as guest/girl friendly

Gentlemen,
I was in Panama last year for a few days on a business trip.
I stayed at the Marriot downtown. It was a nice location. I was a short distance from the Casino and the Cigar Bar across the street(I cannot remember the full name of either of them).
I had a chance to have a drink at the cigar bar. The ladies were very nice, but as sometimes with business trips, you cannot do everything you wanted to do.
I wanted to know if it is still open? I know that they were closed on Sundays, but I wanted to make sure they were still open be for I saty there again. Does anyine know.
Also, is there any other places like the cigar bar in the city? I know that the casino was like it, since a lot of the girls I talked to were on their way to the casino. If anyone know of any other bar/club like this one, please let me know. I am not a fan of strip clubs, not try to rip you off.

Thanks for the help and I cannot wait to come back.

Hola Amigos,

I am looking to find some information about a nice beach or beach community in Panama.

I've been to Panama a few times, but just can not seem to locate a nice place to go for the beach experience.....like in Costa Rica....Jaco Beach for mongering is OK......Manual Antonio - much better beach, but kind of lacking in the "good place for mongers"...if you know what I mean.
I recently spent 30 days in Quepos/Manual Antonio....and it was just great to go to those georgeous beaches, but the local night life was somewhat lacking........

I did find a few ladies around Quepos...but brother you really had to "hunt them up"......it wasn't exactly like the Beatle Bar in Jaco, or the Del Rey in San Jose.

I've been all over Panama City, and know all about it, whats there, when, etc......but I want to get out of the city and get over to a nice beach area....in Panama.....is there such a place?

What I would like to find is a place in Panama that would be akin to Jaco Beach in CR. A place with a thriving beach community, plenty of Chica's, and somewhere where I guy could hang his hat.....and it not ending up costing a bloddy fortune.

Any good tips ?
I am thinking of retiring and living down there....but from what I can see from being in both CR and Panama (perhaps 7-8 times each place) ....I have found out that perhaps Panama is better for retiring Gringos like myself, than CR ......for a number of good reasons.

I think Panama is nicer, perhaps cleaner, certainly cheaper, and probably has much better benefits for retirees..........that's my opinion....and you may have a different opinion....and please let's not get into a 'pissing contest' here about which place is better......Costa Rica or Panama.

Both places have their attributes...... and certainly both places also have certain things about them, that aren't so great too.

Again....can anyone tell me of a fun, not-to-expensive beach place to look into in Panama.

I have not been to Bocas del Toro yet....but plan to on my next trip. Maybe that will work for me. I am not a drinker, smoker, or have to go to the bars everynight to be happy....but I do occasionally like the company of a nice Chica.
What can you tell me?

Please PM me.....or if you have good info to share with everyone, please post it here on this thread.

Pura Vida Steve

the nightlife in the provinces is pretty much nonexistent, unless you go to one of the mayor provinces like chiriqui, veraguas. Then the mongering exp is even less that nonexistent, since the people is very conservative.

For the beaches, you can check out the areas around Punta Chame, San Carlos, Costa Esmeralda; these are the nearest to Panama City. There are some other beaches but reaching those might imply a 3 or hour ride in an 4x4 vehicle

I've been to Costa Rica and Panama many times....so I know the drill there, but it will be my first trip to El Salvador or Nicargua.... and I've not yet decided which destination will be best yet. Nicargua is easier to get into and get out of.....but San Salvador looks like the women may be slightly better, and prices better. ?????

I also have PM's Gauntman, and made some tenitive arrangements to hang out with him some in Panama City. He knows almost everything anyone would need to know about the best mongering action in PTY.

Please PM me if interested.......Steve

Hi guys, Hope everyone is well. I will be visiting Panama in March/early April 08 and was wondering if anyone knew of a nice apt/condo in Panama City for a 2 week rental. I have traveled to various countries and find that this is the most comfortable option for me. Something nice and centrally located. I don't mind maybe renting a car or walking a bit. I'm from new York and usually travel with a total group of 3 guys. We rent a place, hit up the duty free at the airport and stock up on liquor. Get to the place, find the local supermarket, stock up on chicken, steaks, beer and what not, then go out and discover the local nightlife, sight seeing, etc. I don't mind cooking but I have in the past hired a nice sweet local woman to handle those things for me at a nominal fee. So if someone can steer me to a nice place, I would greatly appreciate it and would certainly buy you a beer or two while in town.

Thanks,

Sea

I spent three hours on Sunday night trying to score some. I called over a dozen hotels and all of them were full. I didn't try the 5-stars, but I everything from 1-star to the 4-star Crystal Palace. (The last place couldn't get me a room for the whole week, only five days, and even then, the most expensive family-style suite.)

I went to Expedia and got into the Eurohotel for $308 vs. Travelocity for $450. YMMMV.

Anyone heading that way, feel free to PM or post a similar report so I can respond in kind.
Have always enjoyed meeting and hanging out with fellow forum members in various parts of the world, and there's always 'strength in numbers' - plus one guy can play 'good cop/bad cop' - I'm too nice of a guy and sometimes (esp. when a little intoxicated) have trouble rejecting girls that I'd really rather not go with. Having a buddy there helps defuse the situation. :-)
Not sure if I'm staying at the Marriott or at the Las Vegas ... I think I'll make reservations at both and then decide a little closer to the time of travel, once I figure out which will suit my purposes more.

I had visited Panama City about 2 years ago.
I stayed at the Marriot. It was a nice hotel and GF for the two times I brought someone back to my room. But the hotel is expensive.
I am looking for another hotel, in the same area, but a little less expensive, but also GF.
Is there anything else in the area that fills this bill?
What about the Veneto or the Radison Deapolis?
I like the Marriot for the cigar bar across the street and a little club that was a short cab ride from the Marriot(i do not remember the name).

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hotel Milan is down Eusabio morales((down past Las Vegas Suites) the Milan is $57.50 including tax, I've brough girls in. I've brough girls in the Las Vegas when I stayed there in the past.

resrevations are tough in the cangrejo, most inexpensive places book up fast, I couldn't get the Milan on my last trip, and had to settle for hotel California... over in Bella vista nad then you need a taxi for everything.

Hey Guys,

I am a long time contributor to this forum.....having been to both Costa Rica and Panama many, many times.

My last trip was last Feb. ....about 5 months ago when I was in San Jose for over 90 days - housesitting a large home.

Don't have another one of those FREE deals now....but I do have a line on airfare from the US (Atlanta ) to Panama City, PTY......Round trip on a major airline carrier....Jet all the way .....for a reported fare of less than $ 100.00 Round Trip. Limited seating, and limited days of the week. And I am looking for a wingman or two to go along.

I was not thinking of going back South for a while...until the gas situation settles down...but with fares this low....who can resist.

I would fly from Southwest Missouri to Atlanta.....would like to hook up with a wingman or two....then to Ft Lauderdale, FL...then non-stop to Panama City, PTY for perhaps a week to 10 days.

I know all the best economical hotels, places to go, and even the right trustworthy cab drivers to haul us around in PTY.

I am betting .....there are lots of gals just going to waste in Panama City, or thereabouts....because many guys are now just staying home, because of the high price of gas now.

Would then perhaps go from PTY to David, Panama....where I've been several times....for a couple of days, then back to PTY.

This trip I want to do some sportfishing, or cruising around on the Pacific perhaps out to one of the small islands just off Panama City.

Schedule is open....just would like anothe guy or two to go along.....

I've done this with other guys before.....but they are all either busy or don't want to go this time of year.....

If interested then PM me for more information.......and I will tell you what I know of the cheap seats to PTY from the US.

Also same airline has a good deal to Carthena, Colombia too.....

Heading to PTY for a few days. The biggest obstacle so far is finding a decent, inexpensive place to stay. The choice places close to the action, Marbella, Las Vegas, etc., were all full. And of course other places you can't book online or you have to email the hotel and you get no response from the email. Some places will take your info, then email you the next day saying there are no rooms available. I finally just booked through Orbitz.com. The only problem is you have to pay for all your nights up front. Travelocity or Expedia may also be worth checking out.

Verify directly with the hotel that you do have a reservation before you arrive. I got the impression some of these hotels will act like they never heard of you. Not a good position to be in if you arrive at 2AM.

If you will be in the city during those days and need a wing man IM me.

Happy tales and tails guys...play safe.

Hotels in Panama City PTY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yo....just read your message on the Panama page....it's right on top of mine...

I will give you the name of a couple of hotels in PTY that may work for you.

First is the one and only hotel I stay the first night inn town at.....
and it's the Hotel Marpariso...which runs about $ 25-30.00 a night....and it's not in the Las Vegas Suites class of 3 stars...but I would call it a good 1 star or possibley a 2 star. It is about 3-4 miles by taxi from the big casinos...and the LV Suites area.

The reason I stay there is that they seem to be about the only hotel in town that will pick you up at the airport and then shuttle you to their hotel.

And it's FREE.....Last time there was Feb. of '08 for me....and they picked me up for Free at the front door of the airport...nice van with courtious driver and AC too.....went into town to the hotel, had a pretty nice private room with bath, phone, color TV and AC all for about $ 27.00 if memory serves me. And that price is cheaper than just taking a cab from airport to town...which runs almost $30.00 !

And the shuttle from the airport is included. I believe they have a website and will take reservations over the internet. Seems like I had to only pay the first night + a reservation fee of a couple of dollars for my reservation.....then the next day I moved over to my regular hotel....Hotel Latino.

They are a good 2 star hotel with a swimming pool on the top floor (5th) restaurant, elevator, color TV AC, free internet, and the pretty much the whole smear. Again not right down in the heart of things...but the neighborhood is not too bad.....seems like there is a small university right arcoss the street....all within about a $ 2-3.00 taxi ride to the main casinos, and in the heart of all the action where you will end up going.

The Latino is very chica friendly too.....sometimes you will even see some gals hanging out - outside talking to the taxi drivers that park there hoping for a fare. They will go right upstairs with you.

And I found out that there is a kind of a dormatory type of a small hotel where some of these gals stay....for only about $ 5.00 per night....it is out the front door up the street North about a half bolck and then another half block up to the left towards the main drag.

I really would not want to stay where the girls are staying....looks kind of funky....but at least there should be several of them close in if you walk about a little and look around. There are a couple of very small cantina's right by this small hotel too.......not the Latino....but up the street (where they gals stay.....lots of gals from Colombia stay there....and if you can get them close in...they don't have to go very far to do some business...thus the price usually is cheaper too........

Hotel Latino charges about $ 22.-23.00 a night (((( and it may have gone up in the last 6 months )))) when you stay there for one night...if you go in and pay in advance for 2-3 nights...then you get about a $ 3-5.00 discount....so the rooms get down to $ 17-18.00 a night.

I have stayed at the Hotel Latino many times, and never had even the hint of any problems with any gals, the management, or anyone else there......

Wish I could say that about some of the places that I stayed at in Costa Rica........sometimes I've had some problems there....nothing big....but you know maybe an employee who wanted to hit you up for a tip when it was not deserved, or a gal who would not leave when you wanted her to go...and all the while management did nothing to help you out with this.....
hat sort of thing seems common in San Jose, CR.
But I have not had any problems like that in PTY..........

Now again these two hotels above........ are about 1/2 of the comfort level of the Las Vegas Suites....I've stayed there also...last time it was $ 45.00 night.

I think Hotel Latino has a website too.

And the Hotel Marpariso is the best deal because the price for a taxi from the airport to town was running $ 27-28.00 my last trip....and no doubt up by now with the rising price of gas.

Hope this helps you out.

I will be back in PTY...but probably not for a couple of months yet.

Stayed at the Marparaiso twice, its $30 + 10 for the taxi from the airport if you stay one night, or its $30 per night with free airport pick up if you stasy at least 2 nights. It's a short taxi ride to everything.

The Hotel Montreal is $38. 50 including tax, but I did not like it even though it's much closer to the casinos, because there were ants all over the 4th floor for my entire stay of 5 nights. Also it's impossible to sleep because this hotel is right on via Espana with the buses going by late at night and first thing in the morning. Every morning by 6 AM a loud bus would wake me up.

Lessons learned: try at book the hotel Marbella or Hotel Milan, both around $57. 50 including tax, but both one block walk from Vento casino + via espana, but on a quieter street where sleeping is not an issue. But these hotel have been booking up within 2 to 3 week prior to going, need to book a month in advance.

We got R/T from Tampa for $327 on American. Historically, flights from Tampa to Panama are over $600, so we jumped on it. Over Thanksgiving no less.

Visiting first time for a week. I've been checking out some hotels in the $70 range, Roma Plaza and Tower House. We want to stay in the city center as close to action as possible. Anyone have any likes or dislikes about either, or know if they're girl friendly? Or any suggestions for decent hotels in that range or less that allow guests?
Thanks.

.......last February. It wasn't bad, and a check of Expedia last night quoted prices of $55. If you are reserving a month ahead of time, make sure you get a room a room away from the Via Espana, preferably on the top three floors.
Clean, comfortable, and only five blocks from the Veneto. (It is two blocks from the Montreal.) Good internet in the lobby and in the neighborhood, across the street from a chinese laundry that can give you same day service, and lots of small grocery stores. Chica friendly, not too far from la Bodeguita, and cabs run past there at all times of the day.

Anyone interested in hitting a few of the clubs, like Sahara in calle Uraguay or Bedequita let me know. It's always more fun with a wingman. I know the city pretty well. Plan is party hard Saturday night. Sunday multi-centro o albrook mall. Maybe a day trip to El Valle. On Wednesday. I understand Monday is a holiday.

How about we meet at Veneto Casino at 8pm on 22nd? I think I'll be functional by that time. I am not sure what the good landmarks are there, but how about the nearest bar to the main entrance? I got a good deal to Panama from Atlanta without any early booking penalties. I'm thinking about leaving tomorrow, and staying until Saturday. After reading the forum I've decided my basic plan of attack should include the following.

-Flight in Tuesday.

-Get a hotel in the Calidonia neighborhood (either Latino or Pensione Monaco) for around 30 bucks the first night.

-Attack the low end bars on Avenida K / Capitan. Try to get a couple $20 shots off, and at least one sub $100 Toda la Noche.

-Transfer over to the more expensive, but centrally located Las Vegas Suites for Thursday/Friday nights

-Get at least 2 runs at Golden Times.

-Thanksgiving rewinding at the sportsbar with some football (Either Bolas or in the Mariott)

Questions:

Should I bring my laptop, and will I be able to get wi-fi in Las Vegas?

Is there anything I missed?

will I be able to get a hotel room, just showing up out of the blue?

Thanks

ThanksSounds like a very good plan. I've stayed at Pension Monaco on Ave Cuba twice and it always works out perfectly. $25 per night and girl friendly. You will never have a problem getting a room there as it's a place where a lot of people rent per hour. Only in the wee hours does it sometimes get full when couples are spending the night.

Not sure about wifi in Las Vegas but I brought mi Laptop in case I wanted to watch movies, do some work. That's just me. Also you'll find some restaurants/cafes with wifi.

If you're the adventurous type I would say hit La Mayor and Boca Toren ( )a in the Casco Viejo area.

Also, I just posted a report in the Panama City thread.

Gents,

I'm headed to Panama for the first time at the end of February (dates not set in stone) and will only be there for about 5 days. Wanted to hit the ground running. Could someone direct me to a good trip report for newbies in Panama? Have mongered in Costa Rica and DR and Asia, and I speak a little Spanish.

Specifically, was wondering about:
1. Ground transportation from the airport.
2. Where to stay.
3. Prices for chicas in various areas.
5. The best place for a balance of value and quality of girls.
4. Any other helpful info.

Thanks,
Ham Hock

Gents,

Specifically, was wondering about:
1. Ground transportation from the airport.
see http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?p=840008#post840008

2. Where to stay.
Some like to pay more to be in the safe, but expensive Veneto/Marriot/El Panama. Been there, done that - when the union I work for pays for it. When I am on my own dime, I have stayed at the "Los Arcos" love hotel for just $33, or the Hotel Euro for just $44. They are within walking distance of the big casinos. Los Arcos is made for mongering, except you cannot bring two chicas to the room at the same time. I've tried, I really did. There are other "pensiones" (love hotels)...often Colombian chicas use them as a base of operations while they wait to get into an apartment full of other chicas.

3. Prices for chicas in various areas.
$84.50 for Golden Times: Most of them are beautiful, some are very passionate, and a few are beautiful and passionate. About the same for Miami Club.

The Colombianas at Habano's will ask for "Cien", but you are paying for the convenience of being rich and staying at the Marriot across the street.

Depending upon whether the casino is having a crackdown or not, the Veneto Casino, and sometimes the others, will have working girls lazily playing the slots in certain areas. They will try for cien, too, but they can be negotiated with.

"Oasis" is within staggering distance of El Panama and Veneto. Convenient if your mother does not let you cross the street. It is to GT what K-mart is to Target. The lunch special is just $50, if you want to see the evening shift chicas, it will cost you $65-$75. But you can print off internet coupons! A picture of the typical line up was posted in the foto section last February or March.

Relax Oriental and River Club: About $60. Go, find the diamond in the rough and do take out. The rooms are less inspiring than Oasis. I've gone to both dozens of times and not pulled the trigger. But when I did find a chica worth taking out.....wow!

5. The best place for a balance of value and quality of girls.
Golden Times. "Cien" quality for $84.50, IF you do NOT let the cabbie drop you off there. (he gets a $10 finder's fee.)Have the driver take you to the Fantastic Casino/Casino Fantastic, go inside and wait for the cabbie to get another fare, and then walk the block and a half up the hill. Follow the McDonalds smell to the Popeye's Chicken smell until you see the Golden Times sign in U shaped strip mall.

4. Any other helpful info.
To have more money for mongering, I'd rather pay less on the hotel, so I I get on Expedia and try to get a decent 3-star hotel reservation. The "pensiones" are inexpensive, squeeky clean, and try to maintain an environment where middle class locals can have a nice tryst. They don't make reservations, but it is not hard to go to their discrete waiting room and wait until a room opens up, especially between 9am and noon. I would also recommend using the cafeterias and little diners the locals use. Get a feel for the regular patterns of life of the locals away from the 5 big hotels off of Via Venetto. Drop off your clothes at the laundrymat behind Manolo's restaurant (or any laundrymat catering to locals) and be amazed at paying less than $2 for same day service.

Thanks,
Ham Hock

Hello all -

Just planning my trip to Panama and wondering if there is a website or email address to contact the Los Arcos hotel. Seems like the best price/location.

Any other recommendations? Rather save money on hotel costs so I have more for mongering activities. But location is important also. (Is Hotel Montreal as bad as everybody makes it sound?)

Thanks.

Many have stayed at the Hotel Montreal and have found it acceptible. The price/location are a suitable alternative to Veneto/Marriot/Intercontinental. The Euro Hotel or Hotel Euro is just down the block and is also clean/comfortable/chica friendly/convenient/inexpensive. The Euro Hotel can be found on Travelocity/Expedia/etc.

Los Arcos does not accept reservations. It is "love hotel" that makes its money by renting rooms by the hour/2-4 hours. Nothing sleazy about it. In a poor country, many 20 somethings and 30 somethings are living with their families and need a nice hotel that is conducive to an afternoon tryst. Even married couples need a place to spend the night away from grandma and the kids. And of course, goombas need a discrete place to meet their goomars. That said, they do NOT take reservations, every cabbie knows the location, and calling them is useless.

If your plane arrives early and you can get their on a weekday morning (when they empty out of overnight stayovers), they will have a vacancy. Weekend night, and sometimes weekend evenings, fugedabouddit. Lunch hours, they get busy, but not full. They will try to steer you into the larger, nicer, $44 rooms, vs the box-with-a-bed-in-it $33 rooms. The $33 rooms are more popular with the express guests, and after a day or two, you will appreciate the sofa.

I have reserved a room elsewhere for the first night, then gone by Los Arcos the next morning. Even if you have to wait an hour or so, go around the corner and have brunch in the cafeteria, shop in the supermarket, or hit the internet cafes or laundramats in the neighborhood. They also have a nice airconditioned waiting room with a big window looking into the lobbby. Check out the hotties coming in and out of the place. It has never failed me.

Going to PC July 9th till the 15th. Staying at Riande Continental right down the block from Veneto's. Rate was $90 per night which was off it's normal $140 rate. Just a few questions for some the board...

Is there a resort type place within driving distance of PC with access to the beach, food, etc. that someone can recommend?

If we invite some chicas to come along for the day what do you guys propose the rate offer should be? we were hoping they can tag along and give us some play time but no outdoor full service, if you get my meaning.

I've been reading here of some spots in neighborhoods were 5s or 6s work in smaller clubs for like $20-30 bucks. Any confirmation of that? what is a recommedation for those spots?

Has Veneto's and Golden Time still been a hot spot?

Thnx!

I can personally recommend Playa Blanca Resort, about 2 hours driving from PC. Food is top notch, buffet style, all inclusive.
For the chicas, you might want to let them show their hands first and then make your counter offer, explaining that you will be covering all expenses. Id say $100 and no more for a single day and try to get it down to around $70 or low for more days and always reminding them that you will covering expenses at the resort

I usually stay at Radisson Decapolis when I travel to PTY. On my last stay, the Radisson charged me $30USD girl fee for my female company. For my next trip to PTY, I would like to stay at a similar quality of hotel in PTY with no girl fee. The Veneto is option but it is too noisy at night with all the street level traffic and actvity.

Any recommendations on nice girl-friendly hotels: Riande Continental, Courtyard, El Panama, Executive hotel.

We can stop anywhere along the route for any amount of time to entertain the locals or even bring them along with us, if we find something really nice.

Those PTY prices remind me of New York City prices, US$300 for 3 – 4 hours. I’ll become a monk at those prices. Also, I like the slim all natural ones, no silicone for me.

El Panama is hit or miss. Sometimes I have gotten a friend in, other time staff have run into the elevator with us and turned my friend away.

Change your reservations. If you can afford the El Panama, you can afford the Veneto. A kilometer away is the Los Arcos "pension", which is an ultra clean, ultra cool, love hotel. It is where middle class locals go for a nice tryst. Just $44 for the larger rooms for an entire night, a lot less for a few hours, and just a $2-3 cab ride from El Panama. It has been the "plan B" for many who have found out their hotel is not chica friendly.

El Panama will be full of gringo GI's while you are there. Maybe you will want to avoid it.

I was in PTY for Carnaval last Feb. Carnaval in the capitol city sucks ass, I don't recommend it at all.

Anyway, I stayed at this awesome place with my 2 wingmen. Check out www.panamavacationquarters.com Its located on Quarry Heights and is a totally renovated former U. S. Military Officers Quarters. That tall hill with the Huge Panama flag that you can see from all points in the city is Quarry Heights. PVQ is American owned and the owner "gets" it. Located on the road (gated community)to the summit yet still open to the public offers excellent views of the city. You can call him in the states and pay via PayPal if you want.

The area is uber quiet and free of smog and the usual filth that Latin American cities are known for. Hard to get lost, just point to the flag from wherever you're at and tell the driver to take you, "alla" prounounced 'aya' (over there). Decent value if you split the costs for one of his larger units with a friend though he has smaller units in the building. On site property manager most of the time and she can offer plenty of help with calling taxis or whatever. Once you find a good day and night driver just take their numbers and call them would be my advice.

Highly recommended and extremely safe. Downside: you can't walk to any place of interest such as bars, clubs, etc. Taxis are cheap anyway.

I've been there. Great place, low key, mostly just little locally owned hotels and restaurants. You can get a cheap boat ride to beaches and sights.

I stayed at a great little hotel, over the water, walked out 2 steps across the deck to the bay. I can't remember the name, unfortunately.

There isn't much nightlife, and the clientele seemed to be mostly US college backpackers. I saw a couple likely working gals, but you better like 'em dark, as the locals are mostly afro-antillean. Taking in a colombiana is a great idea.

I heard a lot of Jamaica-style english.

Was there last September. In five years, I have never had problems bringing chicas upstairs, either taking them up from the casino level, or having them come to meet me in the lower (street) lobby. Last spring, they forced working girls to wait out in the street and only allowed them to come in accompanied by a gentleman for a couple of nights.

Greetings everyone!

I live here in Panama and visit the Veneto often. What I have found is that there is no consistancy in regards to letting the Colombiana's in the door. Some days, they turn them all away even if they are with a guy. Other days they let them in. The normally fat, and oftentimes homely Panamanian women are let in with no problem. I guess if the women is pretty it is assumed they are an import and not let in. Also, on Friday and Saturday nights, the place is full of Panamanian's playing big shot with their homely girlfriends/wives. The Panamanian women HATE Colombiana's with a passion. Thus on weekend's the Colombiana's are not usually welcome. I have also noticed that they will let in the Colombiana's later at night, when most of the Panamanian families have left. This occurs around midnight or a bit later. For about the last year or so, the Veneto has been going downhill in regards to the number of girls in the place. I feel they really don't want them there. I know that is stupid as it reduces business from the Gringo's, but as a whole, most Panamanian's are not that bright and really do not know how to run a successfull business.

Going to Panama City next weekend (March 27-29). Will be staying at the Radisson Decapolis - anyone know if it is girl friendly?

This is my first time in Panama - I would also appreciate some advice:

- good night club/bar area for some Saturday night fun

- place to go if I come out emptyhanded from the bar

Many thanks

My amigo and I will be in PTY from April 21. 26. We usually monger in GIG (Hio de Janerio), so we are looking forward to something different. We are currently looking for a nice hotel that is chica friendly and comfortable. We're also looking for spots to p4p and also spots to meet non-pros that are friendly (night-clubs, bars).

Any information is greatly appreciated. Also, if you will be in town during our trip, we can definitely meet up for a beer, etc.

Thanks!

Hello gents,

I will be arriving in PTY on 26 June and staying a few days there before heading out to Chiriqui for the month of July. I'm flying out of PTY on 08 August so I will be there for a couple days at that time as well. I'll have a vehicle for the duration of my stay so I will be mobile and willing to check out other places as well. Anybody that wants to get together for some beers and seco (and mongering) during this time, PM me.

Stay horny my friends, FL Leo

Went to GAUCHOS steak house last night hotel taxi says $7 went to street corner paid $2.

All taxi drivers want to take you to Le Palace, Elite or Golden times. Habanos must not pay a commission because they sure bad mouth the place.

Hello, Fellas. I am a Costa Rica Monger and I traveling to Panama City for a week June 13 thru 20th for business and some action. While I am in CR, I do not to do any strip clubs, was of money for me. I like the pickup Bars and Casinos Action. I was told about the Venetto Hotel and Habanos are ok places. Are there any more Places like these two. Also, what are the fair prices for sessions out there.

I believe that would be apartotel vegasAs you're facing Veneto (for example, from Manolos across the street) , no hotels on the left, but El Panama is behind the Veneto up the hill, To your right at the intersection is the Torres de Alba on one corner (faces the Fiesta casino) , and Hotel Las Vegas on the other.

Very nice almost perfect body, very tight, GFE. There is only one Jenny there I believe. Enough said. I used to have a photo of her but could not find it on my hard drive. Second choice is Las Vegas Hotel. Nice breakfast included if you like.

Me and a buddy are heading to PTY this weekend for a quick get away. We are normally Colombia and DR regulars. I now we should probably going to the source, but we wanted to try PTY for a change. We're going to check out the usual spots Veneto, Habanos, A Che, GT, etc. I am determined to get GFE or PSE for $100 or less. I'm a near fluent Spanish speaker. So hopefully that helps.

So I booked my first trip to PTY-- not specifically to indulge in its carnal delights (in fact, I didn't really know anything about Panama City-- I just got a good fare, and thought I'd head down and check out the canal as a part of my mileage strategy for '16). I'm staying at the Hyatt, but only because I almost always stay at Hyatt's. I'm coming during what seem to be a not prime time-- I'll be in town from 24 March - 27 March, which is the end of Semana Santa, I believe (I'm not really into Easter, so I'm not sure). This site has been incredibly helpful, and I'll likely try out something while there. I'll post a report of whatever I do, if only to give others an insight into how quiet Easter weekend is.
