I am not sure how familiar you are with Cebu but you have several options open to you; I would suggest you work out where you want to stay in the City near Ayala Mall or near Fuente near the capital building or on Mactan. The last time I looked I believe that many of the long-term places near Osmania Blvd were mainly filled up with Middle Eastern exchange students. The thing about apartments is they tend to be clicky, with many of one type of people, you tend to find some of the good ones fill up quickly, but if you can stay long term its cheaper overall.
You can approach this in two ways one go and stay in a hotel and then look at places to rent in an area that takes your fancy. I recommend you also arrange a domestic helper, which if there are other apartments around you can share because you should only require one for 6-8 hours a week.
DSL or Broadband is very easy to arrange and costs from 999 Pesos a month, depending on the level of service you require and if you pay by (12pm) midday they can guarantee to have it installed by 5pm same day. Its worth looking at PLDT (mydsl.net.global-nameservers.com/packageres.asp)

Autrailian owned (and regsitered) boat is berthed in Carmen Marinia near Cebu, Aussie husband died and the Filipina widow is liquidating the property.
It has been maintained well but the engine needs some work, it was out of the water in April and the keel serviced, Id repaint her too
but the vessel is in good condition, widow says it was bought new in early 1990's for P7 mil. some of the electronics (GPS/LORAN) etc upgraded late 90's Sailed from Aussie land and around the Phils a lot.

Okay Dan, the sail boat is a 40ft LOA, it is up in Carmen right now, you probably know the marina. Belonged to an Aussie who built it and sailed her

Do I always have to wait for the 2 weeks out of a year I can get to PI to get a hooker? The vast majority of ordinary American workers have only 2 weeks of vacation per year.

1. The Bureau disco is extremely loud at weekends and if your suite faces is above the disco the bassbeat penetrates above the 25th floor thats for sure. Had a long sleepless night there. But did have a 22 year odl with me so all wasnt lost.
2. Elevators. The cheapos who built it stinted on the elevators. TWo elevators for all the parking floors, for hotel floors and serviced aprtments floors made it sooooo slow.
3. Car park. If you are staying in hotel they try and direct you to some Basement 3 car park. I never followed their rules and parked in GFloor spot promising to move my car later, and never did.
4. Breakfast is very very average. No free wifi either. Bathrooms too small, and tub is made for midgets.
Still, its a good location and I'd probably book it again.

I find all of this defensiveness about different styles somewhat funny. I know RK pretty well, and he has a great lifestyle that obviously pleases him. I've not been here as long as he, but I've been here quite a while and have found a lifestyle and a rhythm-not much different from RK's-that satisfies me. It is right on EDSA (noisy and dirty with diesel fumes) and you will need a taxi to get anywhere. It's a bit of a stretch to say that it is near the Shaw MRT station. It is quite a way to walk along EDSA (hot and dirty and unhealthy) to get to an MRT station to catch a train that is always crowded anyway except between 11am and 2 pm.
By the way, the construction has just started with only one of the major pillars about 2 meters high so you are buying off the plan and hoping that it will be built. I guess that is an OK risk being it is Ayalaland and they have plenty of capital to back them up.

Robinsons built condos in Fort Bonifacio. 40 square metres (size of a hotel room in a decent hotel) , that went for over 5 mill. 250 units sold out within a day.
These particular units are really cheap, and theres a reason why. Location is messy, and the units are tiny. Without the Ayala name the units would sell for approx 200, 000 less.
And just for comparison, Ayala recently launched (even tho 95% of the units were sold in preselling) the most expensive condo block in Philippines. Next to Stock Exchange and Shangri La in Fort Bonifacio. A 1 bedroom. 80 square metre condo there was P18 mill. 2 bedroom at 125 sq metres 30 mill pesos. 3 bedroom 45 mill pesos. All sold out, they gave a 5 % discount for full cash payment in advance. Will open in 2017. The markets on the move.
