I dropped into the lodge on my latest trip having made the decision not to stay there. I can't put my finger on exactly whi I chose to stay elsewhere - probably because the rooms look fairly basic.

Anyway, aftr not being 100% happy with my hotel, I regretted not staying at Livingstones. I cecked out the rooms and they were fine.

I also had a couple of drinks in the Sports Bar and there looked to be a small group who I suspected were ISG members. I didn't introduce myself. Curiously there was a guy playing pool with his earphones in. A board member?

Guys who are used to 5 star should not stay at Livingstones in my opinion as its not trying to be oppulent nor pompous.
But it is very nice for me at this price and I usually consider 3 star is adequate for me.

As I don't actually understand the star system I imagine that LL is a little more than 3 star but not quite 4 star based on overall impression.

Free internet for the whole day is a really big plus for me.
I cannot find a better Hotel for the same price except for maybe occasional low season special.

All the girls I take back to the rooms seem to like them. I recall good comments on the bathrooms and on the artistic lamps that give a romantic effect. Girls often want the air-con switched off temporarily when they come out of bathroom after a shower and still wet/damp as they are not used to cool air. This is easy enough with the remote control.

Star system has nothing to do with how good a room looks but more about services/amenities/hardware available or provided. Health and safety + Fire compliance also plays a big part.

In any case, the star rating system in asia is completely erroneous as most properties are "Self rated".

I spent three weeks in Land of smiles this time and reached Bangkok on 23rd of May and was received at airport by my very beautiful Thai girl friend and was helped in going through all immigration procedures very swiftly and my baggage was collected even before I reached at baggage belt because of her some connections.

This time again as she refused last time even to see me I was quite curios to see and meet her and I convinced her to once see me at least and meet me and if she does not like me even then I will give her 1000 baht and she may go back in ten minutes and may be this thing appealed to her and she decided to come to see me in Livingstone and asked for a about two hours to reach there as she live quite far from my place. So just to kill time I went to Emporium just for window shopping and got her call quite early than I was expecting her and she was waiting outside my room.

I invited her in and reverse happened as I found her quite overweight and fat girl though may be in past she had been a model if she was as slim as she claims but now I did not want her as she was not up to my standard so I gave her 1000 baht as I promised her and asked her to leave and this was shocking for her as now she wanted to stay contrary to what she asked for upfront money and things like that and now she was insisting me to not to send her back and she was ready to stay for free and was trying to convince me to be with her at least for some hours and dinner etc and she will not take a single penny for that and was ready to have sex for free. I accepted her request and allowed her to spend a few hours in my room but no sex and this was something painful for her as I was he first customer who was refusing sex with her even free She removed all her clothes and got in bed with me and came over me and tried her best to seduce me and in the end had her orgasm while rubbing herself over me. According to her she has been charging 20,000 baht too from her customers in the past and may be she is right but now I doubt any one can give her that much money in her current shape. I must confess that pics she has posted in ads are really attractive and beautiful and she might have been beautiful when she was slim and tall as shown in pictures.

Fon, Pinky and Suniya are not independent but their pictures are fake and they are being advertised by one guy with name of Jim and may be he has some girls and he is their pimp and he advertises her girls in this way with fake pictures so I did not try him as I saw same name of girl with different pictures even with taxi drivers.
Kai escort now is available only for short time and she does not like to go for long time or on longer days with one person and work for short time mostly and she has raised her rates too much and up to 18,000 baht per day and for two hours she says she will take 7000 baht.

Same is the case with Appie she asks for 34000 baht for full day but for two hours she can come for 6000 to 8000 baht and this girl is working some where during day time but she is beautiful as she insists that she has genuine pictures in her add but I did not try her as I was looking for a long time girl.

I will write about agencies now next time.

Well some of us are sitting in the sports bar right now eating a good meal and having some fun.

Arrived on Sunday and this is the first chance to get to the site as I have been a little occupied. Being well taken care of as usual and there is a host of some new talent the bar which seems to be very attractive and attentive. And of course there is some old favorites still around.

The whole staff in general just makes me feel like this is a second home. As far as a star system goes, that's a bunch of junk. You go where you are comfortable and you enjoy.

Great to read your experiences and I certainly got a good laugh. I would have liked to see that scene in the bar with a girl trying to get un-barfined.
I have experienced a sports girl bar refuse to be available for a customer , just hoping that I might turn up later but with no guarantee. But I have not yet managed to steal an already bar-fined girl. So this is a special achievement.
However I wouldn't make a habit of it if I was you.

During communication on cell phone and sms I came to know that May herself is acting as call center lady and she does not live in Bangkok but as she knows a little bit of English so she provides this service by acting as a bridge between customers and the so called agency. I was very frequently in contact with this lady and finally when I called her while in Bangkok she came with a reply that she has one girl for me Honey but she has recently undergone some eye surgery so she does look good at the moment and if I need her she can come and stay with me. I replied her that I need a good looking girl to be with me not any monster with eyes bulging out she got offended and later refused to send any other girl also.

The girls arrived one by one in my room and almost one hour late than the scheduled time and told me that they had to come from far and were stucked in traffic jam so I got chance to talk to one of the girl at least fifteen minutes earlier. She was not the one shown in picture and her name was Ann and was sent to me Andear and she was a school teacher some where and was in need of money so working with agency as escort and was requesting me to take her as she is need of money. Miss Ray was apologetic by saying that she conveyed to agency regarding my request but do not know why they did this and seemed that she again is acting as a call center for the agency.

They quote rates for so called film actresses or beauty pageants from Thailand starting from 34000 baht upwards per night and can go to 100000 Baht per day for any super model. I never tried them after getting these rates I don’t know how far they are correct as they claim that if the girl they are sending does not turn out to be same they will charge nothing and give the surety that they all are celebrities. Annie is the lady who replies e mails and at times talk on msn also.

I contacted Dream massage, Ohyes massage, Aancha Massage they all excused to provide by saying they have just normal girls when they came to know that I am really serious to have a classy girl otherwise I will simply refuse them.

Another enjoyable visit to the Lodge even if it was only a week... did not run into any ISG members this time and think I missed Trav1234 by a day or so...

But the wait staff and general staff overall is getting to know me too well as they know my meal preferences and drink preferences so well I hardly have to ask to anything. The ladies in the sports bar are as attentive and accommodating as ever. Even had one of the girls I barely talked with before go out and buy some local thai items for me that are not well known or stocked in stores and she was happy to do so.

G is still busy with his other work so didn't bug him too much, will save that for next trip, next week ;) Since I don't seem to get into enough trouble myself this past trip I might need his guidance on how to do that.

For those of you who are truly stupid people and would travel to LOS and actually want to get up early and exercise (even after exercising at night ;) )... True Fitness in the Exchange Tower (corner of Asoke and Sukhumvit) let you join for a day, week, month, etc... and it is now connected to the BTS directly. Opens at 6 am every day except Sunday which opens at 8 am, usually about 200 folks there at 6 to 7 am, two levels so not crowded at all, excellent cycling room with free spinners not the crappy exercise bikes (but they have those too down below), etc... Overall the facilities were pretty good. Well worth the 3,000 baht one month membership fee.

And after a steam and such you can be back in your room just in time for more fitness right when she . ;)

Do you have a discounted rate for a stay of one or two weeks (starting sometime in July)? Work is going to be for 6+ months in Bangkok, so I am planning to stay in a serviced apartment or a hotel the first 1-2 weeks or so, and look for an apartment to rent.

Sitting in the lodge after 10 days away... It's a rough life but someone has to do this hard work. What is surprisingly is that Giotto is in the bar playing pool and not locked up with a computer.

Had my Birthday the other day... the night before my B day some of the girls at the lodge bought a bunch of flowers and a cake for me (as we were going to be tied up on the actual B Day). did get all my non-mongering goals accomplished. picked up generic cialis, got my phone unlocked and grabbed a local sim card and minutes. picked up some extra water.

came back and crashed for 6 hours. got up at 8 pm to head out for a little mongering.

now, what is the best way and time to ask for you at the lodge. i asked the bar tender for the boss yesterday and he said you were asleep and wouldn't be up until around 10. send me a pm to let me know.

can be recommended to everybody - it is STAFF PARTY DAY!!!

The fun starts already early in the morning (9 monks, the staff decided that we did not have the monks in here for a long time, so the proposed some monking start-up). I am in general open to everything, and due to the fact that it is very early in the morning I will physically be there, sleeping with open eyes.

The catastrophe then will start at night, when the customers are going to leave the bar - then then staff will take over. It will end at about - nobody knows, somewhen early next morning, and the staff will be dead - as usual.

Guests in the morning will be send to the 7/11 for breakfast (ok, may be not). Drunken bodies will be around everywhere. The bar will not be cleaned up till late night next day. Half of the staff will not show up for work - because they are sick. Alcohol sick.

But - besides all criticism of an employer - it is definitely fun. So - twice a year we are going for this event, that should be enough, and it should be ok, for the staff and for our guests.

Everybody who is here in Bangkok should come over and join the party. All the previous staff parties were really good.

Well there is a fantastic Temple (most beautiful in Thailand) near Chiang Rai called Wat Rong Khun that is a must for tourists but I'm sure you will never get to see it. It would cost nearly a whole day out of your sex schedule.

I have just completed a three day stay at Livingstones, this time I visited with my son who is in his mid-20s. Of course we are in Thailand for a general holiday but I want to show him a small taste of the delights. At the same time I am a little wary because he could be vulnerable on the emotional side.

So first night we hooked up with two girls, one of whom knows me from previous trips, and played a lot of pool. We had a great time and no complications when we left becuase as it happened we had to share a room that time due to shortage of rooms. A funny note. Guido had suggested some sweet peas and bacon, so "peas and bacon instead of creamy cauliflower please" to the waitress, I heard her repeating "peas and bacon", "yes, peas and bacon". When it came out, I got two strips of bacon and no peas. She thought I wanted "piece of bacon". Must work on my accent, or learn some Thai.

The Sports Bar girls and mamasan Tina were no pressure, low-key but very friendly, just a nice friendly place for a few drinks on a Saturday night. The staff party just added more laughs at the sights of the "beauties" in their skimpy costumes. It's definitely going to be my regular spot in Bangkok.

Earlier in the day I had made my way by BTS to Phrom Phong station, and looked around for Soi 33.

Made a mental note to self, will try to remember to ask for the BTS exit number always. Walking down from the skytrain station to the wrong side of the road means having to walk up again to go down the other side. You don't really want to try to cross the road below, with hundreds of cars, buses, and motorcycles zipping pass below.

Walked pass Soi 33/1 and turn into Soi 33 at a sign for the Novotel which I knew was at the corner. Almost walked pass Livingstone as the entrance was set back a few feet from the street.

It was a pleasure for me to meet you [again], thanks for being with us here last Saturday.

And correct - I was nearly sleeping during the monks procedure, but I made it somehow to the end. Then i had my usual 20 cups of coffee, and woke up.

The night was very very long. Staff dancing was ongoing until 4:30 am in the morning, then everybody was completely drunk. Pool was played - but due to the fact that all players saw all balls twice the fun was limited there either.

Later we went out then for some food (Rama 9 area) - and I had my last beer at 8 am when the early guests had their morning coffee.

It was fun, a good night - and all the staff showed up next day for work - some of them really did not feel well, but they were fighting against the odds.

The Hotel room TV has a good selection of channels for Farangs (English & Deutsch) but not really for Thais or Japanese.

The girl staying with me is actually not Thai and not Japanese but she understands these 2 languages. But there are no TV stations in these languages any more and she can't read Thai subtitles fast enough HBO's or other movie channels.

I wonder if Giotto is worried that a Thai girl might pay more attention to the Thai TV channel than to the spunky exciting Farang she is with? LOL ;)

Fortunately I can play DVDs with Thai speaking on my computer.

When I arrived at the lodge the pool water was a slightly strange colour.

After weeks of effort to clean the pool tiles months ago, Giotto would have just about had a heart attack when seeing the colour was not pristine sparkling blue but rather greenish. I would have liked to be there to see his face :D

The pool man had applied some sort of Iodine treatment to protect against algae and germs etc. Fortunately it was not a deposit on the tiles and only affected the water colour for a day or two. Its coming back to normal now.

So Giotto can be relieved. :D

I am sorry I had to run off so quickly and desert the party. The story is quite funny actually and deserves its own report. In a nutshell, my gig (a girl I met, saw 3 times but never slept with) called me to tell me she was at a party on Thonglor (where I met her initially) and that her friend (lady) was drunk and getting sick, she remembered I lived not too far and asked me if I could give them both a shelter for the night as her friend could not go home in such a poor state, fearing her family's reaction.
I give her my address and tell her I will wait for her at the entrance of my building. Long story short, they both slept at my place and needless to say that my Gig spent the whole sunday rewarding me for my good heart.

For 2 days at the lodge, Sury is staying with me. I have known her for about 6 years. She gave up P4P a long time ago.

She comes from the far northern mountains of Burma close to the China border. The Thaiyai people have no country as they are not Burmese and persecuted by the Burmese military/police etc. Many are refugees in Thailand but with no Thai citizen card.

Sury got a passport in Burma after waiting many months and then went to Japan for 4 years with a friend who was marrying a Japanese man. She had to work in a 7eleven and life was not fun.
She decided that Japanese men were too sefish and didn't take to them.

She is a very nice character in my experience. When she speaks Thaiyai with her relatives on the phone I can partly understand as their language is close to Laos or Issaan languages, but strange accent. Baan (house) becomes Waan in Thaiyai.

Despite having Sury to stay for 2 days, I still managed to sneak out and play up a little.

When I went for a swim, Sury was too shy to swim too. Cannot swim and scared of the water. So she just watched.
Miss K from the sports bar was in a very revealing bikini showing beautiful bottom. I suddenly started to get interested.

Now Sury has returned to Chiangmai to open her own little business selling stuff that people normally get in 7eleven but in a district where have no 7eleven.

Yesterday Giotto and I were chatting about fuel prices and transport. This turned to shipping on the rivers of Europe, and finally turned to classical music inspired by the great rivers,
"The Moldau" by Smetana for example. One of my favourites.

The sports bar music is great for my age-group, with nice mix of rock, reggae, hip-hop, Thai, etc. but will make a nice change when the classics are played on certain days.

I have eaten here several nights and trying to keep weight under control by ordering fish and BBQed prawns (which are huge). Cutting down meals now and getting in quite a bit of walking and sex-ercise to help lose weight.

The weather has been so mild, I should progress to a few runs in Sirikit park.

The best thing about LL is the incredibly friendly general staff. And its when you get to know them that you realise just how hard they can try to please.
The breakfast waitress is exceptional as a start. Miss T serving me tonight is so lovely, pretty (long hair to the waist) and thoughtful that if we were both available, I would seriously consider going after her. :)

Couldn't agree more. Things will go wrong from time to time with communication problems. All the different accents of English. Just like when Flyhere got a "piece of bacon" instead of "peas and bacon". But the staff really are disappointed when a mistake occurs and will willing fix if at all possible.
One time I got the wrong thing. I realised it was completely my fault as I had ordered wrongly in Thai, by a slip.
But Miss T*m stead-fastly refused to allow me to take the blame and pay for my mistake. She was happy to take responsibility when she was completely faultless.
She is obviously trained that the customer is always right (if not totally unreasonable) even when he is wrong.
Of course totally unreasonable customers do exist.

Meanwhile certain Sports Bar girls are so popular that they are with customers virtually constantly. Miss T*k is a very well known good example. My short trip comes to an end.

I am way late posting this review of LL. I was there twice (7 nights) over a two week period during May/June. First of all, it was a pleasure to meet Giotto. He is very friendly and helpful, especially since it was my first trip to Thailand. I had a problem connecting to wireless internet and Giotto spent a good 30-40 minutes helping me resolve it. All the people who work at LL (restaurant, bar, front desk) are super helpful. It also a great place for a first timer I think, right smack in the middle of Soi 33 Artist clubs, 2 min walk to Akane massage (had wonderful sessions with Hiro), and less than 15 min walk to Soi Cowboy. The rooms are comfortable, reasonably priced and I really appreciate the free internet.

I never felt awkward bringing girls back from Cowboy. Almost every night. I think even in Thailand, I would feel self-conscious walking into a big hotel lobby with a girl half my age in my arms. At LL, that is not an issue b/c its smaller, more intimate, and nearly everyone else at LL is there for the same exact reason.

As for my first trip to LOS, I must say I prefer the go-go bars over the Soi 33 Artist bars and the Beergarden on Soi 7? I never got around to Nana or Patpong, mainly b/c I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Cowbow go go clubs. I picked up multiple girls from Bacara and Tilac (sorry no pictures and unfortunately after 2 months, I have forgotten all of the girls' names). I did not really like the selection at the Beergarden (picked up one late afternoon and session was good but really did not find any girl who looked as good as the ones I picked up at the go-gos). Of course Beergarden girls are cheaper but I really did not mind spending the extra. As for the Artist bars on Soi 33, while many of the women are very attractive, I didn't really get into the gowns and dresses they wear. I definitely prefer the bikini or skirt w/ nothing underneath on display at the go-gos. I like women who are fully shaved or with a small landing strip. I can "check out the goods" before I choose at the gogos, but not at the Soi 33 bars. In general, I was paying about 1500-2000 thb for ST and 2000-3000 for LT at the gogos (does not include drinks are bf).

Looking forward to my next trip. Trying to schedule one for December.

Coming back and back again. Always a pleasure. I spend 300 nights per year in hotels, but I am always back to the Lodge. Why?

Not because it is the full luxury or large marble lobby.

1) The pool. Large and clean, warm now, best place to have a floating beer. I am surprised nobody else uses it.

4) The bed is strong, firm, comfortable, and can support threesomes even with elephants.

We have moved the pool table from the pub the the restaurant entry area ... hopefully more customers will notice it and then want to play. ... you never expect the unexpected. Some people were somehow main actors in parts of your life, in the past, long time ago. But somehow they are very important. May be not today any more, but they were at least important for a very specific period in the past.

Anyway, I was playing pool - and suddenly a very good customer from ours came in, and three women with him. I just took a short notice, a formal "hello" and I returned to playing pool - but Mrs. Giotto immediately turned to one of this 3 ladies - I took a closer look - and I tool another look...they were holding each other - how can that be, I knew this other woman - oh my god ... it struck me like a bullet in the head!

There is this one story I have never written about up to now. It changed my life, definitely, but Mrs. Giotto does not know much about it. She was not involved in all that, all that happened before I met her. And today - suddenly I find out - some important actors of two time periods of my life know each other ...

Today's incident is a good introduction to this opera: Jeaulousy occured immediately. Mrs. Giotto felt, that there was something between that woman and me - and if there is something between a man and a woman it can only be - sex! Well, thought I'd mention that I made my virgin foray into the lodge last night.

It was pretty late, but I was guided to the bar next to the pool area where I could still order a burger. "How would you like it done, sir? " Best one I've had in Bangkok so far. Very congenial atmosphere, in spite of my dour mood. One mamasan, who used to be a seamstress until recently, was very sweet but a little prone to begging. One little girl was absolutely enticing, the more so for her tense skittishness. One mamasan said that a room for the night would be 1800, another said 2200. One said the barfine is 1000, a little later the other one said 700. One said that LT would be 3000+, the other quoted 3000 for ST, but quickly agreed that 2000 was also reasonable. However ST was firmly pegged at one hour, and with that I retired. It's pricier than braving the sidewalks and neon boxes, but much more congenial.

On a night I feel like treating myself I may well be back.

BTW does the promotion for ISG memebers still run, anything that frees up baht for extra-curricular activities is welcome, its hard enough explaining this trip to the wife as it is!

Not too funny, I actually had some fake 100 USD bills on my last trip over there (found them at money change, damn good fakes too). Was faced with a moral issue as to try to pass to girls or others in BKk... Ended up taking them home with me and verified they were fakes by my govt. and they sent off to the US officials, still have one as a memento.

As a new guest of the lodge, albeit having visited a couple of times before making my first booking, i have to be honest and say that there are in reality few better places to stay in Bangkok where value for money is one of the main criteria.

Is it the cheapest in town, then the answer is no, although it is not that expensive, but the atmosphere and convivial hospitality as well as pleasant but personal surroundings is a welcome retreat after a hard days work.

Staying at LL means that if required there is no need to wander out of the hotel for anything, the food is good, and a very pleasant evening can be had in the Sports Lounge even without the pressure or need to remove one of the excellent choice of ladies to make the night pass by in even better style.

Giotto and his good lady as well as Guido provide some of the best personal service and attention that this traveller of many a year has experienced anywhere in the world. Whilst personality and ability to get on has something to do with this, they exude an attitude that is in al reality hard to find anywhere else.

The choice and breadth of food available would shame a good number of the more well known hotels around the world, with all of them being done to a high standard, having Guido as a qualified chef to help oversee does have it benefits.

The girls in the Sports Lounge can i expect be more than a handful to look after, but that also adds to the fun of staying here. There has also been a recent influx of new girls coming to work in the Sports Lounge which has added an element of not only youthfulness but also laughter, frivolity and good times when visiting the Sports Lounge.

This is one visitor that will be returning to Bangkok and to Livingstone's for several visits due to current work requirements, and will be taking further visits to one of the new ladies recently joining the Sports Lounge.

I can heartily recommend this establishment to any visitor to Bangkok. It is conveniently located for most things, at worst being a short taxi ride away, whilst also having a certain element of quietness if required.

Well, BKK is rainy and for some reason Auntie blames me every time it rains... doesn't he know it is rainy season??? Had a strange trip this time and was going to post some items in the BKK reports thread but see it's clogged with OTH vs. the rest of the world drama (and i don't need more drama in my life) so decided to stay away from that thread for a while.

Got stranded in BKK due to the airpot closures... was apologized to a million times and asked how I felt about the current state of affairs one million times and it seems like the majority of thai's do not want to the country as a whole to lose face (or they just don't want me to take my orders and baht away from them :) ) ... I being the typical dumb assed foreigner yelled and screamed at a Thai Airways customer service rep due to frustration and realize what a stupid jack ass I am. So nothing new in this area.

Had only a short night at LL but I did see some new ladies and ran into a very nice looking lady there (unfortunately she looks young enough to be a daughter to me... Giotto are they getting younger or am I getting that much friggin older??), unfortunately I am considered "off limits" by the entire staff and Giotto made me stay away from Miss T@@ to save her for Mick.... :) Really need to stay over to avoid the long commutes...

Hope to make it and stay over for some time for some relaxation but time to move on while the planes are flying :)

You are right - we have a lot of new girls in the bar. To fill up stock was necessary after customers (incl. MANY ISG BASTARDS :) ) have taken out 11 girls in the first 8 months of 2008 - to make them their TGF! Many new girls now, they don't know how to walk, how to dress, how to make-up, how to behave with customers - they in general have no idea about how to work. Training, training, training ... and if we have given then enough training then - one of YOU BASTARDS OUT THERE come and take them out as TGF :) ... But such is life.

LOL, I don't know what kind of training you expect us to do, but it will be quite different from the training at a massage parlour. And it is definitely neccessary, all the girls have worked in other places before, and the standards and politics are definitely different there.

Couple of things:

1. Giotto has a rule, which is often broken by the girls: after you buy them the first drink, if they for any reason would not agree to be BF, they are suppose to tell you.

2. You don't have to stay at LL to BF anyone, and you certainly aren't limited to taking them 'upstairs'. Many guys come in, BF and take them out...just like if you were at any bar on soi 33 or anywhere else.

Don't worry about that - many customers just come in, buy some drinks for the girls and leave without taking them out, that's normal business. Just do as you like ... there is no such thing as an obligation to barfine a girl after buying a drink.

Here is an idea (not sure if it makes business sense though), offer a bottle price with free ice and mixers, that should bring a few regulars. I think some bars around soi 33 do.

Piper, you are unintentionally agreeing with me. Everybody in the know knows that Giotto's hotel was dead on it's feet, and he was one of the least successful hoteliers in Bangkok until he devised his marketing strategy of targeting ISG.
I'll respectfully disagree with you, as I think I have more insight into LL than you do (have you ever been to LL?) But I'll leave it to Giotto to explain the details if he wants to, as he probably has more insight into LL than me. ;) Bottom line is, it's a successful boutique hotel of about 20 rooms (I think), plus restaurants and bars open to the public. ISG members make up only a tiny percentage of the clientele, so it's not dependent on ISG members. Easy logic, yes?
