One great benefit of Jakarta compared to it's neighbouring cities is every hotel I've stayed in has provided a Dutch Wife. Indeed most hotel staff don't bat an eyelid if I request a second one in the bed for the night.

Although when I suggest that the Dutch Wife should be more than 3 feet I do sometimes get funny looks. The Pullman in Central Park even gives you a choice of shapes and size of Wife!

Djakarta Rocks.I wonder how many people understand your inside joke.

Regards,

Ko.

Hello?

I am thinking of staying at Grand Mecure Harmoni or Ibis Harmoni because these hotels are at the best location to visit Malioboro and close by to many other clubs, but based on my search on this thread people suggest stay at Ibis Jakarta rather than Harmoni.

Since this will be my first visit, can you please tell me which location / hotel would be better? And why?

Since this will be my first visit, can you please tell me which location / hotel would be better? And why? They are both fine, it just depends on your budget. Mercure is twice the price, twice as big a room and a nicer overall hotel. Ibis is half the price and half the room size, but still fine. I can't stand those tiny rooms at Ibis, but many people are used to them and prefer them due to price.

Since this will be my first visit, can you please tell me which location / hotel would be better? And why?I stayed at Grand Mercure Harmoni early this October, and I would recommend it. The hotel is only four years old, and everything in there is relatively new. Plus it is located right across Malioboro, and if that is where you want to go, it is a walking distance. In fact, the pedestrian bridge is located directly in front of the hotel entrance, where you can just walk across, without having to go through the ordeal of crossing the Jakarta busy street.

Now here's the downside. Next to the hotel building is an exercise club, and from what I had been told, this club holds outdoor exercise event every Thursday morning from 7 to 8 AM. They would blast their music through their loudspeakers, and I mean they were really loud. Good luck trying to sleep through that hour, and it looked like there is nothing the hotel management can do, unless they are willing to get into a legal fight with that business next door. That was the only complaint that I have for that hotel.

Stayed recently at Hotel Santika Premiere Hayam Wuruk for 4 nights at $66 per night breakfast included. It looks like a new hotel. It is nearly opposite Novotel Gajah Mada.

The hotel has a good choice of breakfast.

No problem bringing in guest at night or during the day. I even saw guest of the hotel with two or more 'girlfriends' in the morning during breakfast. Only problem is that the lobby is most of the time crowded with guests moving in and out. And of course the WoS. As you have to walked though the reception to the lift. You also need card to access the lift which will open only to the floor of your room.

The reception does not face Jalan Hayam Wuruk but you have to walk a little as it is located a little further on the side. The staff is very helpful.

More positive is Maliaboro and Lokasari are nor very far away.

I have normally stayed in LE Meridien when I've been in Jakarta but discovered the rates in Alila is pretty good and location is good with regards to the action. I know almost all hotels in Jakarta are girl friendly but is it anyone who can confirm for Alila? Anyone that have stayed both here and LE Meridien and can compare facilities?

I know almost all hotels in Jakarta are girl friendly but is it anyone who can confirm for Alila? I can also confirm to my own question after checking with the hotel:

Kindly be informed that you are allow to bring your guest to our Hotel. Maximum occupancy in our room are 3 person using Extra Bed.

Not sure if I will go for the option with extra bed though.

Still looking for company in two weeks time, let me know if anyone want to have some fun.

Stayed last week at the Grand Hyatt, adjoining Plaza Indonesia. Not only is it GF, but when I ordered an in room massage from the spa after my jet-lagged arrival, the therapist enthusiastically offered full release with her top off. Service with a smile.

After that, I had no worry calling down to reception and asking them to let guests come straight up to my room. It is a 5 star place so not for punters on a budget, but if your company can foot the bill for you, I recommend it.

P.S. The therapist had the most amazing set of DD breasts, no kidding. I had not seen bug naturals on an Asian girl before. She refused all requests for anything other than a HJ, but it was a nice treat.

Chacal60, that's a very interesting story about the Hyatt. I stayed at the Hyatt Jakarta gratis on hotel points for part of my last Jakarta visit and I really liked the hotel. The rooms are large and extremely comfortable. The location is smack dab in the middle of everything so lots of high quality restaurants are close and a trip down to Malioboro or up to CJ's is pretty easily done. Last but not least, the pool / garden area has about the nicest, most expansive swimming pool of any city hotel I have ever seen. Fortunately for me, I have accumulated enough points since my last visit for a free 7 night stay at the Hyatt on my upcoming trip. Here is a tip: check out the Chase Hyatt credit card. It comes with an annual free night voucher at any Hyatt worldwide so the card pays for itself and the points do add up. I will remember your tip about the in-room massage. LOL. Thanks for the heads up.

I am also booked gratis on hotel points (a different Chase credit card) for the next 7 nights of my upcoming Jakarta visit at the Intercontinental Hotel. Its another sweet deal and I like the Intercontinental Hotel as well. The rooms are smaller than those of the Hyatt, yet they are more elegantly appointed and classy. Upon check in, the hotel will automatically bump my reservation up to an executive floor room due to my Priority Club membership which means free afternoon & evening drinks and hors the'oeuvres in their executive lounge. The Intercontinental Hotel's location is a slightly less desirable than the Hyatt being that it is in it's own little enclave encircled by immense Jakarta boulevards. A taxi is needed to go just about anywhere. But the complimentary buffet breakfasts at the Intercontinental are outstanding, even better than those over at the Hyatt, IMO, and I really like their swimming pool which is very nice and almost as expansive as the Hyatt's pool. Needless to say I have had good times in both hotels in 2016 and I am looking forward to more, even better good times on my next trip.

One last thing, talking about girl friendly hotels; I enjoy inviting my favorite girls over in the afternoon for a pool party, lunch and shag. The girls seem to really enjoy it too.

Unfortunately, the pool at the JW Marriott is basically worthless.I totally agree. The Jakarta JW Marriott pool is shockingly not up to the Marriott standard elsewhere. It is a 2* hotel pool at best. For that reason I do not recommend the Jakarta JW Marriott. I stayed there twice. My first and last time. 555.

In the course of my travels I have found that there are much better accommodations in Jakarta at this price point. For example the Intercontinental and at the top of the pyramid the Hyatt: The Intercontinental pool is very nice and as I reported earlier the Hyatt's pool is amazing in the amount of space and relative privacy it affords to its guests. I am aware that there are some other really fine hotels in Jakarta like the Mulia Senayan (CJ's), the Shangri-La (Bats), and the Fairmont for example which I have not had pleasure of trying out. But as long as I can keep accumulating hotel points on my various Chase hotel credit cards which allow me to stay for free at the Intercontinental and the Hyatt, there is no incentive for me to stay elsewhere.

I also have the Chase Marriott card, but I prefer not to use its annual free night voucher at the Jakarta JW. Instead, I prefer to use my Marriott Hotel voucher and points at the BKK Renaissance Hotel for two free nights during my visit to BKK. On those nights I plan to make my annual pilgrimage to the nearby Spasso bar at the JW Hyatt BKK and Mixx bar at the Intercontinental BKK. The rest of my 5 week stay in BKK will be for $$$ at various Suite/Apartment type hotels on or near Sukhumvit like the Fraser BKK and the Marriott Thonglor Exec Apartment Hotel.

However, although I think the Hyatt is great, I don't think the Hyatt is the very top of the pyramid in Jakarta. I like the Kempsinski better. I also prefer the Ritz Carlton. However, the Hyatt and Kempinski are more convenient than the Ritz. Some people say the Dharmawansa is the best, but I don't agree with that at all. I do think the Hyatt was the best 20 years ago though. The Westin is opening soon in Kuningan. I would expect that to possibly be the best hotel in town when it opens, but it is not connected to a mall and it's in a location that will have horrible traffic, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I never tried the Renaissance in BKK. I have always stayed at the JW Marriott there on soi 2. I'll check it out next time. Unfortunately, all of my points are at the Marriott so I can't stay at Hyatt or Intercon in Jakarta.

Which Ritz Carlton are you talking about? The Pacific Place or the Mega Kuningan across from the JW? Or both.

I have never stayed at a Kempsinski property. The one in BKK across from Siam Paragon is very impressive, but the location is not convenient for our sport. Looking from the outside, the Kempinski Jakarta does look that outstanding. I will take your word on its quality, however.

The new Westin Jakarta is good news. With the merger between Marriott and Starwood now complete, points earned within either hotel group can be used or exchanged between accounts. I transferred some of my random superfluous Starwood points into my Marriott account for example. There are a lot of quality hotel choices in Jakarta. BKK is relatively cheaper, but good hotel deals are available in Jakarta if you look for them.

I never tried the Renaissance in BKK. I have always stayed at the JW Marriott there on soi 2. I'll check it out next time. Location, Location, Location. You really can't beat the JW Marriott on soi 2 overlooking Nana. But I actually prefer the Marriott Thonglor Exec Apartment Hotel over on Thonglor (soi 57) or the Marriott Park Executive Apartment Hotel on Soi 24. I like the 1 bedroom apartment concept better and location wise the Thonglor area has an interesting collection of upscale dining and nightclubbing (G-club) opportunities, plus its only 2 stops on the BTS from Cowboy so I do not feel isolated. The Soi 24 Marriott property is a about a 5 minute walk to Sukumvit and the Phrom Phong BTS station and you pass by a string of naughty massage shops along the way. Both properties are approximately 30% less the price of the JW. It's an interesting alternative is all I am saying.

Unfortunately, all of my points are at the Marriott so I can't stay at Hyatt or Intercon in Jakarta.

I suggest that you check out either the Intercontinental or Hyatt Chase credit card. They pay for themselves with their annual free night voucher. The Intercontinental card has a $49 annual fee. The Hyatt card has a $75 annual fee. Both annual card fees are waived for the first year as they hand out incentive free nights to new members. You can then cancel your card before the 2nd years fees are due, although it costs virtually nothing to remain a member or rather $49 for a night at the Jakarta Intercontinental and $79 for a night at the Jakarta Hyatt.

The Kempinski doesn't look like much from the outside since it used to be Hotel Indonesia, but the rooms are great.

Fast Eddie 48.The hand job is included as standard service at Delta if you get the hot stone massage. No extra charge for the HJ, and no tip required. When I go to Delta, I always get that hot stone massage since it's awesome. I agree with you that it's great, and in my opinion it's the best massage I've ever had anywhere. I have had over 100 hot stone massages at Delta, but even though the hand job is free with the massage, I rarely let the girls jerk my cock off. I am only good for one shot a day normally and the last thing I want is to waste it on a hand job. I want to be balls deep in pussy every night so I take a pass on those hand jobs. The girls are always surprised when I don't let them give me the hand job. That being said, I do go ahead with the HJ when the girls are stunning, but that's rare.

The hand job is included as standard service at Delta if you get the hot stone massage.I've been visiting various Delta locations for over 15 years, only once requested the stone massage and once the mud massage. In Bali recently I took a cold / hot water shower massage (never again!) and all the other times just the standard massage. Each and every time I had a massage there I received the complimentary HJ. I always thought it was included no matter what.

Incidentally the way they perform the HJ is quite sensual and always worth it. It's always been a happy ending for me there.

On at least 3 occasions I've managed to convince the therapist to open her top and let me fondle her breasts. They all insisted at first " tidak boleh" but in the end gave me permission.

Just so no one gets mislead by false information earlier posted here, the one Sheraton in Jakarta is the Sheraton Gandaria, which is in South Jakarta. It has been open for close to two years.

There is no Sheraton near the airport although there once was.

Currently there are 6 Starwood Hotels operating in Jakarta: The Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City, LE Meridien, Four Points by Sheraton, Keraton At the Plaza, The Hermitage, and The Westin. The Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim is scheduled to open September 15 and two more hotels are slated to open in 2019: the Aloft Jakarta Simatupang, and The St. Regis Jakarta.

Hi Natty,

Have you stayed at any of those? I've stayed at Le Meridien in the past, but wouldn't recommend it.

I've stayed at Sheraton Gandaria City a couple of months ago and found it very convenient. Thanks to the mall. Heck, I even did some mall hunting there. But I wasn't very successful, unlike Mighty Spearsman some time ago.No Smoothy, I have never stayed at a Starwood Hotel in Jakarta. My favorite hotels in Jakarta are the Grand Hyatt and the Ayana (former Intercontinental).

But I have stayed at the Sheraton Sukhumvit & BKK Weston and thought they were good, although I also thought the Sheraton Sukh seemed a little pricey. Additionally, I have stayed at the Macau Sheraton in Cotai and that was a nice and very reasonably priced and on my next trip I am booked for 4 nights at the Sheraton Singapore, again at a very reasonable price.

On my last visit to Jakarta I spent 8 nights at the Hyatt and 6 nights at the Ayana. I was originally booked into the then Intercontinental Jakarta for 6 nights free using points and voucher nights. Then two nights before check-in, while I was staying at the Hyatt, Intercontinental notified me that my free points and vouchers were no longer acceptable at the Ayana due to the change in ownership. Obviously, I was pretty pissed off with Intercontinental and the way they were treating me so I called them long distance collect via Skype. The supervisor expressed how sorry she was concerning my Intercontinental reservation, but said she couldn't do anything about it.

It was 2am, but the 1st thing I did after hanging up with Priority Club Intercontinental was make sure I could extend my stay at the Hyatt at a good rate if I wanted to. Then bright and early the next morning, I went over to the newly minted Ayana and talked to the manager there. She was very nice and also said she was sorry, but my Priority points and Intercontinental vouchers were no longer acceptable. She did, however, offer to upgrade my reservation to the exec suite at no additional cost and after she showed me the room I decided to accept her offer.

Nothing much had changed since the change in ownership. The bountiful and tasty buffet breakfast was the same and the wait staff were just as friendly and helpful. There had been a fire or something at the apartment building next door to the Ayana swimming pool and some building material had fallen into the pool breaking some tile, so the Ayana pool was out of commission while repairs were being made. The manager arranged for a pool voucher at the nearby Shangri La pool as well as providing me with a hotel limousine ride to and back from the Shangri la any time I wanted so I spent every afternoon over at the Shangri la.

I liked the Shangri La. The pool and garden grounds are just as nice and as large as the Hyatt Pool. I had lunch over at the Shangri La several times and the food was great. But on weekends the Shangri La pool is over run by Asian family guests and these Asian guests let their children run wild. So, I will never stay at the Shangri La Jakarta on a Saturday or Sunday. For some reason, the Hyatt attracts a different type of guest and its swimming pool is never crowded or overrun by Asian families. It is so much better, at least on weekends.

Anyway, I have already booked 5 nights on my next trip at the Ayana at $100/ night which is a really good rate. As I noted above, nothing has changed since the buyout, but when Intercontinental ran the show the rate was $140. At check in I plan to remind the receptionist that I have stayed here before and would appreciate an upgrade to the suite if it is available. It does not matter, but if you don't ask you won't get, or something like that. I also plan to book 9 nights at the Hyatt as soon as they begin to offer the good rates. And because I have expiring points, a free night voucher, a free suite upgrade, not to forget $100 food and drink certificate, I will book 4 nights at the Fairmont Jakarta. I know the Fairmont is a great hotel chain. I like to stay at the Fairmont Manila, but this next trip I will not be visiting the PI and all these vouchers and certificates will expire worthless unless I stay at the Fairmont Jakarta. The location is a little out of the way, but I can live with that for 4 nights and it will give me an excuse to delve more into the attractions available in the south of Jakarta.

And although I was really angry about the way Intercontinental treated me, leaving me high and dry with my reservation at their former Jakarta hotel, we have since made up. All my Priority points were restored to my account and I was able to use my 2017 free voucher night on a night in 2018 at their flagship Hong Kong Bay Intercontinental, a very swanky and upscale hotel. And in September or October Intercontinental will be sending me another free night voucher that I will apply to a 2nd night at the Hong Kong Intercontinental. Thus, I will be spending my last weekend of my 2018 trip in Kowloon at a $300 plus / night hotel gratis. So, things have worked out pretty good in the long run.

One last note: on this next trip, I have booked a different type of flight. Instead of my usual roundtrip from south Florida USA to pick one (MNL, BKK, or CGK) I have booked what they call a multi city flight and I will fly MIA to BKK with a plane change in Zurich going to Asia and I will fly HKG to Newark (nonstop) change planes and then on to PBI and home. The multi city flight costs one hundred dollars more than the round-trip flight, but it cuts 4 hours and 2nd change of planes out each way and in addition the flight times are much better too. I will arrive in BKK in the morning, not late at night and I will leave HKG in mid-morning so I can have one last night to party. This flight was not available on the United web site. I found it on Google Flights and then clicked on the link which took me back to United. Very tricky, but it worked! I can't wait for my next trip.

That has to be one of the worst airlines I've ever flown. Then the flight to Newark out of Hong Kong was delayed 5 hours because they didn't have any pilots so I missed my connection in the US and had to spend the night in Newark. When I fly out of Miami to Asia, I like to fly Qatar airways. It's the quickest route and also reasonably priced.

Hey guys,

Last time I stayed at Kempiniski. Went to the sky bar there with girl I had picked up from BATS. However my question is does this bar have girls like CJ's or Bats.

Secondly my thought is I shouldn't have a problem getting a girl into the hotel. Any expertise please advise.

Thanks.

On your first question. The clientele at the sky bars is mainly overseas businessmen and rich locals, from what I saw when I went there. It's a pretty expensive place to drink and not many hobbyists are likely to go there due to this and that not many girls are there. Since mongers won't go there, neither will the girls. Bit of a chicken and egg situation. I also think that if lots of WG's went there then the locals would get them kicked out. It's just not that type of place.

While RTFF-ing, I came across this post below.

Other than Jl. Jaksa, is there any fun to be had in walking distance from Jl. Wahid Haysim? A spa would be nice. I don't want to fight traffic and not in the mood for Jaksa.

Hi.

G7, It's a well known short-time hotel, near a workshop I used in the past, nobody ever stays more than 2 hours in it. Trust me, most online girls wouldn't be willing to stay or visit there.

As a first timer you would probably enjoy staying in or near one of the budget hotels along Jl Wahid Hasyim, Thamrin which gives you easier access and transport to the tourist stuff, and certainly nearer the pickup malls.

I would go for 8/9 night nears Sarinah Thamrin and 4 nights South in Blok M / Melawai.

Booking.Com is more reliable than Agoda though they're owned by the same outfit.

Oops, did not realize I was in the hotel forum, came in through the search function. If anybody would care to post in the main forum that would be great.

I figure Smoothy would have a few ideas.

For my 3 nights stay, after some research and an e-mail to make sure it was girlfriendly, I opted for hotel Aryaduta Jakarta, just South-East of Monumen Nasional, which I felt was quite strategically placed relative to the brothels, bars and restaurants I meant to visit.
I was proven right, since despite the horrific city traffic it took me a relatively short time to get everywhere.
Also, the wi-fi was reliable and the staff polite and helpful.
To top it off, for those who like me want to get a local sim card, a Telkomsel center is right behind the corner.
I would repeat.

http://www.aryaduta.com/jakarta/default-en.htmlI loved that hotel bar back in the day when free lancers were rife in Jakarta. When I first arrived in Jakarta in the late 90's, the Aryaduta had one of the best bars in Jakarta downstairs in The Tavern. Although they also had pop bands, they had a rock band there that played stuff like Deep Purple that was awesome. We used to go there special just to see them (And to bring home a nice lady for the night). The guys in that rock band were older guys even back then, so I seriously doubt they are still playing around town, but that's the best true rock cover band I've seen in Jakarta. The bar was always packed with female talent similar to what you find these days at BATS. I have many good memories with the girls from Tavern. Although I will say that Tavern was part of the "rotation". You would see the same girls from BATS, Le Meridien, CJs, etc at The Tavern back then. We definitely had some fun nights there. During Oktoberfest, they used to have a special week for that and the place was packed with Germans and a had a German band wearing Lederhosen and playing instruments like the Tuba. It was good fun. The hot stone steak there was a unique dish that never failed to be quite tasty.

Although I believe that bar is still open, I don't think girls go there anymore, so it's basically dead (similar to the disco at LE Meridien which used to be the number one free lance spot in Jakarta but is now dead). Back then, the Aryaduta Tavern, Hard Rock Cafe at Sarinah (now replaced in Sarinah by a worthless restaurant, and the Hard Rock moved to Pacific Place now and became a family restaurant rather than a wild pick up spot), Green Pub (Amigos restaurant) at Sarinah (now a Pizza Hut), Tanamur disco (now closed) and JJ's disco (now closed) were some of the absolute hot spots in town. They all had lots of available free lancers and they were all quite near each other so you didn't need to travel too far to hit a good number of great free lance night spots in one night. Now, not one of those places is still a hot spot. And they were NOT replaced around town by other places with free lancers, so the free lance scene is basically crap these days. Places like BATS and CJs were around back then as well, and they were popular, but there were so many other places back then.

Back in those days, Blok M free lance bars were also thriving with lots of sexy girls and was far superior to now. You could go from Top Gun starting at 6 pm, to Oscars by 11, then to Lintas Melawai late at night and it was never disappointing at any of those places. I can't recall ever going home alone without a hot little chica as company. Now, if I go to the blok, the chances of finding a hotty are quite low and I am more than likely to leave there without a girl in tow. I still think it's because of the exit of a good majority of in town working western expats and the shift toward local and Chinese tastes as well as sex tourists interested in brothels. Places such as the nicer brothels like Hotel Classic and the various sex massage spots are popular now rather than free lance spots. We had the down market brothels like Bintang Mawar, Today's Country, Kartika, Kota Indah, Medika, etc back then (places I rarely visited because the free lance scene rocked), but the free lance scene did seem to die out when Hotel Classic and the various upscale massage places opened.

However, I don't think it's any coincidence that the fact that the number of expats working in Jakarta also drastically decreased around the time that the free lance scene died out. When I first came to Jakarta, there was a huge number of expats working in the oil and gas industry. That's not the case anymore. Back in those days, you rarely met someone visiting Jakarta for a sex vacation. It was pretty much all guys there for work. Back then, we always used to say that Jakarta was the world's best kept secret. But the internet changed that and it's not true anymore. Then again, although it's not a secret anymore, it's nowhere close to as good as it was back in those days for free lance fun.

Enough reminiscing about the good old days. Although there are no good free lance places anywhere near there anymore, yes, the Aryaduta is a decent location to stay if you are hitting the brothels up north. The Aryaduta is somewhat worn down these days and not as nice as it used to be, however, it used to be much more expensive to stay there as well. So it's much more economically feasible as a moderately priced hotel option these days.

A good recounting of days gone by Smoothy. I wish I had visited Jakarta and Phnom Penh back in the early to mid 90's, but I was having my fun back then in Rio, Sao Paulo, Medelln, Bogota & BKK. I don't know of any place that is better now than it used to be 20 years ago. The internet has fucked things up. But things are still pretty good in BKK and Jakarta if you ask me. I hate to think where the trend lines are pointing 15 to 20 years from now, but by then I will probably need a cane to get around and the aid of one or two sexy 30 something Asian girls to look after me and pour me drinks, so I won't care. 555.

In April I returned late one night to the Grand Hyatt. I was hungry, but all the hotel restaurants were closed, so I wandered up to the top level of the lobby where the Hyatt Bar is located. I forget the name. No food there either and the bar was in the process of closing, but I met 3 FL's sitting on a leather couch directly opposite the bar. They looked to be somewhere in their 30's, but one of them was very thin and tall with a sexy, exotic smile, so I stopped and chatted with the girls. They were very friendly. They were older than what I usually go for, but nicely coiffed and well dressed. Good atititudes. The tall thin one was more than ready and willing to go upstairs with me and little Natty was tempted, but reason prevailed and I said good night to the girls after taking the taller one's cell number. Ha Ha. But I never called her. I only mention this little interlude because 1) this is the hotel thread and 2) by way of a comparison to your description of the Tavern Bar in the old Hyatt. The times have changed.

OS.You obviously didn't spend 5 minutes reading the forum because it's stated over and over and over again here that all hotels in Jakarta are girl friendly. So a RTFF comment is in order. You may still want to do that. However, since the honorable Mr. Menteng was nice enough to reply with a very fine suggestion, I will offer up another alternative. Indian guys normally prefer bigger women with whiter skin and bigger noses, so you may want to check out the girls at DeLeila in FX Sudirman 8th floor. The women there are exactly the type of girls Indian and Arabic men go for. Especially if you like Moroccan women. If you stay at Harris Suites FX Sudirman, you can walk there in 2 minutes. It's closer to South Jakarta than North Jakarta, but you will likely fall in love the first night at DeLeila and not need to travel elsewhere.

The Fx and lots of malls within walking distance have great eating options. They also offer staff that may be keen to give you some after work fun. All are reasonably high end malls so dress well and act properly if you want to proposition other shoppers.

Fx also is well known by taxis for easy pickup or return trips.

The only negative I can think of is it's in the area with possibly the worst traffic in Jakarta. To go any where at start or end of the business day will take literally a couple of hours. Depending in your Game this may open up other opportunities as many girls from the nearbye office building hit the food courts with their friends to burn off a couple of hours until traffic clears.

Grand Hyatt $135 (hotel site),
Fairmont $127 (Agoda),
Shangri-la $155 with bfst (Agoda),

It is a strange hotel, with the reception desk tucked away and easy to miss when you enter the mall. It is completely girl friendly, like most hotels in Jakarta. The rooms are a bit small, but the view from the rooms is magnificent, since the hotel occupies the top part of the tower. What turned me off, was that the hotel has no restaurant so breakfast has to be 'enjoyed' in the downstairs mall, which is then still mainly closed and dark. During my next visits I stayed in the Century Park, next door.

Orchardz Industri is very clean, very new hotel, with big modern style rooms of a standard comparable to most hotel chains in the states. Like all Orchardz Hotels, Orchardz Industri has a Karaoke and a spa. See attached photos, the spa is "men only", and if you hit "3" on your phone you can get a "therapist to room".

I didn't try the Karaoke. I didn't go to the spa. But I used the 3 button quite a bit. A lady answers, fluent in english and says "you want massage or massage with full service, which means everything?

"full service please" "ok cost 750 ok?" "yes" "girl on her way" that was easy. Don't even need to give the room number. 4 minutes latter.

Girl is always fairly young (oldest was 26) fairly slim, and well groomed. No grannies or fatties. They put a towel down on your bed, take off their clothes and proceed to give you a one hour naked indonesian massage. After that shower and sex.

Orchardz industri is located close to malls, ancol water park and lokasari / mangga besar.

Stayed here a few weeks ago and the hotel doesn't give off a monger vibe at all. People in the eating area are families etc.

Have fun!

Orchardz Industri is very clean, very new hotel, with big modern style rooms of a standard comparable to most hotel chains in the states. Like all Orchardz Hotels, Orchardz Industri has a Karaoke and a spa. I'm interested in this area because it's near Kota Indah. Rooms look decent and it's definitely cheap. I just google mapped the hotel and there doesn't seem like any decent food options to walk to which is important to me. Did you manage to find any good food locations nearby?

Or are you looking for western restaurants, or international fast food chains etc. There are decent local street foods and stalls everywhere in this area, but if you want the earlier, you are probably in the wrong area. You need to choose which is your priority.

If you are considering Orchards Industri, there is a Brand new 4 star Grand Orchards just a block away across the train tracks, only slightly more in price. Not sure if they offer the same services as the other Orchards hotels. Looks well worth it for a brand new hotel.

Thanks for highlighting this option in Orchardz.

If in-room massage is offered in a Hotel, I wish every one would mention it in their report. At least for me, this is an attraction in selecting a Hotel.

Questions:

(1) I assume you used sign language with these girls? Or do they understand verbal English?

(2) Do these girls expect OR demand a tip?

Thanks,

Crowne Plaza is walking distance to a mall. Le Meridien is walking distance to one of the best massage places in town. Fortune massage, and not far from malls but not as close as Crown plaza. However, the malls near Le Meridian are way better than the one near Crowne Plaza. I'd stay at Le Meridien.

As far as nightlife, there are too many factors that could influence any recommendations, so it's best if you read the Jakarta forum for answers to that. Tons of info there.

This might be a bit outside the scope of this thread, but I'm looking at Raffles, Kempinski, MO, Shangri-La, and Ritz-Carlton amongst other places, and curious if any of those hotels have had an especially recent refresh. I love the service in SEA five-stars, but sometimes the parent companies get a bit negligent in updating the furnishings.

Shangri-La has the advantage of having BATS bar downstairs. I haven't stayed at Shangri-La in years, so not sure how newly renovated the rooms are there, but I have very picky business associates who still stay there and love it, so the rooms must still be in great shape. MO renovated a little over 10 years ago and I'm sure it's still quite nice, but I don't like to stay there. I always like Kempinski, and it's hard to beat Ritz-Carlton, but the newest are Raffles and Fairmont (which I realize you didn't mention, but it's new and close to CJs). If I had my choice, I may go for Raffles simply because it's only a few years old and I've heard good reviews on it. My second choice would probably be Kempinski. It also depends on where you want to go outside the hotels because they are in different areas of Jakarta.

I've been to the venue just the once about 12 months ago and had a "so-so" experience with a two lady deal. I feel I may do better on a return visit.

My plan is to visit Jakarta for the weekend early November (I have arranged a transit stop for a business trip) and this time stay at the Hotel Classic for 3 nights so I spend more time at the venues inside and less time travelling around in traffic.

Any thoughts on the accommodation and meals at the Classic and any nice restaurants nearby to be recommended?

I am a non smoker and the whole place stinks of cigarette smoke. Even though I supposedly given a non smoking room there was smoke all around me. I was coughing so much I checked out early and moved to another hotel near Gajah Mada. Being in the vicinity of the terminals and bunker was an advantage that I could walk there but in retrospect it was a very bad decision to stay in that hotel.

A member asked me via PM to post a review of this hotel, so here goes. First of all, this is not a hotel which I would normally go for. It was seen as just a convenient place to stop over for a couple of nights. The in-house spa was probably the main attraction. Accordingly to the usual websites, this hotel rates 3. 5 stars, but normally, at least in a place like Jakarta, I'd go for four stars or better. The low cost helped, especially since I was arriving very late and therefore had limited opportunity to enjoy the hotel facilities. And the location seemed convenient too, although this turned out not to be the case.

My room was the deluxe king bed. Total cost for the two nights was 1.1 Juta, or 55 ($71) at the exchange rate at the time. That included WiFi and breakfast for two. Size quoted as 35 sq. Mt, so it was spacious enough for my purposes. A/C seemed fine, usual safe etc. Bathroom was good, with a walk in shower plenty big enough for two. Water pressure and temperature were excellent at the times I used the shower.

Bed was comfortable. Minimal external traffic noise, since the hotel is set back from the road, and little if any corridor noise that I noticed. However light sleepers may have a problem with the noise from the karaoke rooms on the 5th floor. My room was on the 7th or 8th floor and I could hear the muffled noise, but it did not disturb me. Everything in the hotel seemed to be very clean. Did not use room service.

Buffet style breakfast was available on the ground floor. It did seem rather basic, but I had only one breakfast, and a light one at that, so I may not be the best judge. Lifts were fine. ATM in the lobby. Check-in and checkout were quick and efficient. Overall, the hotel seemed to have quite low occupancy, and the residents that I saw appeared to be on business not on vacation. Spa was fine. For more details, see my report in the main Jakarta thread.

For me, one major disadvantage would be the absence, outside of the spa, of a good lounge or pleasant area with a nice view to relax and have a beer or a coffee. The other main disadvantage was the location, with nothing of interest in walking distance. So I would definitely not stay there again, but it would be OK for someone needing a clean, modern, budget-friendly, business hotel for a limited stay, and who had a need to be located in that area. Photos on sites such as Hotels dotcom are accurate.

After reading MaxAircon's review on Orchardz Hotel Industri I felt guilty that I didn't do the same.

I chose to stay there because I felt I could avoid travelling in the heavy and unpredictable Jakarta traffic during a long weekend in Jakarta and monger "on site".

The hotel was booked trough Angoda for about RP130,000,000 for three nights which worked out to be another mistake I made. I'll get to that later.

Although I booked a non smoking room I was told at the time of booking they will do their best to meet my request. I then contacted the hotel directly via WhatsApp (I speak fluent Indonesian) and said if you can't guarantee me a non smoking room I'll book somewhere else. They then told me they will prepare a non smoking room for me so I made the booking firm.

Upon arrival everything seemed fine. The staff were very friendly and a basic breakfast buffet was included as well as free WiFi which worked well. The hotel has 3 floors and a ground floor and I had a room on the second floor. My room had a window but it faced out onto a private balcony towards the inside sort of like a roofed atrium from the first level to the top. I noticed other guests on their balconies were smoking.

My room was simple. Everything worked. The AC was noisy and the room smelled slightly of cigarette smoke. As soon as I went outside the door of the room the smell of stale cigarette smoke became stronger. The breakfast buffet area also was a smoking area even though there were no smoking signs on some tables. I had had enough.

I stayed there for two nights and on the morning of the second day I told the reception I had to move out a day earlier and asked for one night refund. I didn't think I would get a refund and they told me that because I booked with Angoda there is no refund. I wasn't going to argue so I checked out late the afternoon of the second day. On the way out the bell boy asked me why was I checking out early and I told him of the smoking. He said they should have put me on the third floor because that is a non smoking floor! WTF! All good, lesson learnt.

The accommodation part of the hotel is under different management to the the terminals, bunker and spa. However because they were all in close walking distance to my room it made things just a little bit more easier for me. I had some interesting experiences in the terminals and spa and will report on that separately. I won't be staying in that hotel again but I reckon I'll return to the terminals in the future.

I am trying to keep my status with Marriott. 1. The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan. A great hotel with super large, well appointed rooms, a great pool / garden area, excellent restaurant, and an OK location, although further south than the rest on your Marriott list. I found this hotel to be very high value for the money therefor I highly recommend this hotel, although, due to its location you can expect to add 15 minutes travel time to Malioboro at 9pm compared to staying at the Four Points.

2. J. W. Marriott (across the street from the Ritz) - well appointed rooms although much smaller than those at the Ritz and a terrible pool. Good restaurant, but due to the lousy pool and room size, I can't recommend this hotel and personally will never stay here again.

3. The Mayflower. I never stayed at this hotel, but based on my experiences at 2 Bangkok Marriott Executive Apartment Hotels (Thonglor (Soi 55) & Park (Soi 24)) I would expect that it is probably pretty good, but unless it were substantially less money than the Ritz-Carlton, Mega Kuningan, I would much prefer the Ritz.

4. Four Points by Sheraton. I never stayed at this hotel either, but have passed it many times on my way North to the brothels. It looks like a modern, no frills 4 star corporate hotel. Nothing fancy, but new, clean, standardized rooms very similar to other Four Points elsewhere.

As far as girls are concerned, here is my #1 tip to you: don't miss Malioboro Lounge / Malio Club or the Emporium Spa Hotel. Both are very different from each other, but both have great girls, and both are vastly superior to Hotel Classic IMHO. I had 6 or 7 girls in Malio / Malioboro & 4 girls in Emporium this October trip and had only 1 girl I would not bother repeating with. Can anyone say the same thing about Hotel Classic?

The Mayflower (Marriott Executive Apartments). If you have gold status or higher with Marriott, the JW Marriott will likely bump you to a suite (not always, but many times). The suite rooms there are quite good, but the normal rooms are just ok for the price. If you were guaranteed a suite for the normal room price, I'd go with that one. The Ritz Carlton standard rooms are nicer and only about 20 usd more per night.

The Mayflower has the biggest standard rooms of the hotels you listed (it's basically an apartment), but it's not as convenient as far as being near any malls or restaurants within walking distance.

I have not stayed at Aloft or Four Points. However, the rooms at Aloft are newer than Four Points. Although it's near a mosque and not in as good a location, it seems the Aloft may be a good choice since it's about 1/3 the price of the JW or Mayflower and relatively new.

As far as going to Hotel Classic and convenience of location to get there, Four Points seems the best, but it's likely the worst room of any of the choices.

I just read Natty Bumpo's reply. He is spot on. I also prefer Malio over Hotel Classic, however Malio costs about 3 times the price of Classic.

Yes, you have to begin shopping for hotels well in advance of your trip. Here are the lowest rates that I have booked in the last 12 months:

Grand Hyatt $135 (hotel site),
Fairmont $127 (Agoda),
Shangri-la $155 with bfst (Agoda),
Ayana MidPlaza (former InterContinental) $101 (Expedia), and
the Mulia Senayan $276 (Agoda).

I never pay the rack rate which can be up to 3 times the rates I have posted above.I recently booked an executive room at Century Park (next to Fairmont) for USD 85 per night, including breakfast for two.

Even cheaper older hotels like that one that are still nice are Borobudur and Aryaduta. The Grove Suites in Kuningan is the same price as Century and I much prefer that one since it's fairly new and the rooms are huge. But I have friends who do prefer Century simply due to it being near Senayan. It's a shame the Fairmont isn't 85 a night, that would be awesome.

It's a shame the Fairmont isn't 85 a night, that would be awesome. My 2018 Jakarta Hotel Review (kind of)

I stayed at 4 very different 5-star hotels during my 18-day visit to Jakarta this last October. Specifially, I stayed at the Fairmont Jakarta for 4 nights. It is an amazing hotel, but more on it later in this post. First a little history: recently Fairmont and Raffles Hotels have become a part of the Accor Hotel Empire. Personally, I think this merger acquisition is fraught with potential problems and I fear that the high quality of these 2 Lines may be eroded over time.

In any case I had been a Fairmont Club member for many years and had the Fairmont Chase Visa card so I had accumulated a lot of points, dining vouchers, free room upgrades, and free voucher nights that were all set to expire in 6 months if not used. So, I made a reservation at the Fairmont Jakarta for 3 nights at $185/ night. Then I applied a free voucher night for the 4th night. Then I requested a free club upgrade to their 1-bedroom suite and upon my arrival at the hotel they gave me an upgrade on the upgrade ie a corner 1-bedroom suite on the top floor. Next, I converted my soon to be expiring hotel club points into a $100 Fairmont gift card which I applied to my final bill upon checkout. I also used up my account dining certificates at their glossy Spectrum restaurant for free breakfasts during my stay. The net result was I paid 113.75 / night for 4 nights in the 1-bedroom corner suite and buffet breakfasts were on the house. Sweet! I will miss my Fairmont Club access.

Now to my Fairmont review: Wow! This IS a true 5-star hotel. It is also very large, about 5 times as large as the Fairmont Makati. The 1-bedroom suite was the size of two deluxe rooms with a living room / dining room, the bedroom and 1. 5 bathrooms. Everything was modern, new and top quality. One night I brought back a CJ's 22-year-old (a young one ha ha) FL and we had a good time making out and stripping in the living room on the sofa. At one point she knelt down in front of the couch and gave me a BJ. Then we adjourned to the bedroom for sexual congress.

I think the hotel has 5 restaurants; Spectrum which is almost identical to the one in Fairmont Makati, an Indonesian restaurant where I had an excellent gourmet Indonesian late lunch one day, an informal Italian deli / coffee shop, a Chinese Restaurant and a Japanese one too. The pool was really nice, nicer and larger than Fairmont Makati although of very similar design. Personally, I like the garden / pools at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Hyatt, and Shangri La better, but this one was nice too.

The hotel is connected by way of an underground walkway to Senayan Plaza mall which was very convenient. There is a roof top bar, no FL's, but a nice place to have a nightcap if you happen to return to the hotel before 1 am. The bar has fantastic city views. I went up there on a very rainy night near clsing time and enjoyed sitting out under protective shelter, smoking a Cuban cigar, as nature let loose. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The manager came by and gave me a free Grey Goose on ice. Then they left me alone after the bar closed to just sit back, enjoy the view, and my smoke.

So, all told I really like the Fairmont Jakarta and would definitely stay here again if the price were right. $185 seems a little bit pricey to me for a 5-star Jakarta hotel even for this high level of quality. BTW its location is not as bad as I thought it might be. It is located very close to the Mulia (CJ's) and due to easy access to JL Jend. Sudirman, it does not take much longer to taxi down to the brothels (Malio etc.) than staying at the Shangri La.

So, of the 5-star Jakarta hotels that I stayed at this last trip I rate the Fairmont right at the top. The Ritz Carlton is really good too and a real bargain at $122 /night with very large 63 sq meter 1st class deluxe rooms, a great garden / pool and equally good hotel restaurant, but its location is actually not as good as the Fairmont IMHO. The Grand Hyatt is still very hard to beat all things considered. I paid $135/ night. The Grand Hyatt rooms are not as large or quite as nice as the Ritz Carlton or the Fairmont, but the garden / pool is one of the best in town (and hardly any guests hang out there) and the Hyatt has the best location of all the 5-star Jakarta hotels I know being attached to the Plaza Indonesia, surrounded by host of great local cuisine & any cuisine restaurants, and a sraight shot north to all my favorite bordellos.

The Shangri La is good too and it does house Bats which is very convenient. Ha Ha. On my last night in town after having my farewell session with an 18-year-old Malioboro dancer, I returned to the Shangri La and ran into an attractive, dark skinned Indo FL with a killer body and sexy smile just as we were both descending the stairwell down to the bar. We chatted a bit and then I took her up to my room for my last fling in Jakarta 2018. What a last night and a 2 fer too boot. And in addition to all that the Shang garden pool area is tied with the Hyatt as the best in Jakarta as far as I am concerned. But the Shangri La is an older hotel and it's rooms while still very nice and 1st class are a bit on the small side especially when compared to the other 5 stars in this review. Lastly the Shangri La location is not great. Access to a shopping mall or a supermarket is either a long walk or a taxi away. So, although I still like this hotel and am open to staying here again, I feel that the Shang is a little too pricey for what you get. Thus I would not stay at this hotel again unless it were priced accordingly at the same level as the Grand Hyatt or the Ritz Carlton, but I would pay a little more than Grand Hyatt prices to stay at the Fairmont again.

My experience with the Hotels in Jakarta has always been good.

Kempinski. Its very much central and must be equal distance to Malio, CJ's, Bats and be square. Emporivum. Reason being I stayed at Mulias and had to pass Kmpinski on my way to these places. Has a very big mall and skybar but need to venture out of the hotel for wg's.

Marriott- Friendly but I found it aloof from the pubs and I believe Basque is the closest one.

Shangri La and Mulias. If you have very less time and need to spend the night with a WG try these two out with Bats and Cj's attached. No entry fee and you'll have ample time to check the girls out.

I only quoted a small part of your report, but the report was excellent. When I first arrived in Jakarta in the late 90's, the Grand Hyatt used to have one of the best pickup bars in town. I think it died out around 2002 or 2003. Shame.I just checked the price out of curiosity. For a stay in early Feb the Hyatt member rate is only $108. It's $102 for advanced purchase, but I never book those because they are not refundable within 14 days of the booking. Pretty good value. It's still my hotel of choice even though the bar isn't as busy as it used to be.

This, as others have noted, is a 'business hotel', so the facilities reflect this.

Its a new modern design and build, so everything works (including good Internet). The rooms are OK, just above that 'pre vandalised' design you get with some modern lower cost hotels (Ibis.).

No wardrobe to speak off, so unpack your cloths using the floor. For a business hotel, no proper desk area to work at, which rates this place down in my view.

Otherwise, modern decor & bathroom (shower) and comfortable bed & pillows.

The pool (22 m) is good. I choose hotels for their pool as I like to exercise daily. (Pool temp surprisingly cool for a tropical city.).

For those that want to stock up with supplies (juice, fruit etc), there is a Carrefour across the road and a mall a short ways up past the Malio opposite the Mercure. It's a "B" mall, though.

Also, there is supermarket just next door, just beyond the Starbucks. The hotel building as a small mall, with some Chinese and sushi places as well as a local coffer shop chain.

All walkable.

I cannot say if it's Girl Friendly, as this was off my agenda on this trip.

Maybe not good for a 'vacation', if you know what I mean, but really good for a brief business visit that is close to clubs and brothels.

I know a guy who likes that hotel who tries to get bumped up to a suite when he stays there. He will tell them it's his birthday or that there is something wrong with his standard room to see if they will bump him up. He's been pretty lucky getting moved to a suite pretty often.

On my recent trip I stayed at the Novotel Gajah Mada for a few days. Have not seen a report for this hotel for a while, so here goes.

I got a sweet deal at $30 a night for a standard smoking room which is kinda hard to beat. I opted for "no breakfast included" as in the past I have never made up in time for breakfast. When I got there, I was given a room on the 16th floor. The lobby is pretty decent, with adequate place for visitors and guests to sit and chat. 4 elevators service the rooms, so you are never waiting for a very long time. The room itself was as expected. Clean, spacious, with a comfortable queen bed, 4 pillows and a nice duvet, a small sofa, a chair and working table for furniture. A tiny fridge, kettle, TV, alarm and safe. Basic toiletries in place. Air conditioning could be better. Ventilation in a smoking room is vital and this one was not bad.

The housekeeping and room service is pretty decent, however at times they might turn up long after you have given up on your request. Sabar my friend, sabar. I had a bit of trouble with the basin draining out on day 1. Took them nearly an hour to fix. Ice cubes are on the house, they do not charge for it. Great little touch for those who like a bit of party in the room. The plug points are all local, but they have just one point which is multi-country type. There is a pool and gym, which is pretty decent too. Standard operating hours I guess. I visited both usually after 10 am. I never ate inside the hotel, so I can't comment about the food quality, but given its a Accor Group hotel, it must be decent.

In the cewek department, the place is completely friendly. No one even bats an eyelid. They are all smiling and courteous all the time. The room is pretty soundproof I think, I could not hear anything happening next door, not even the occasional flush in operation.

Location-wise this place is hard to beat. There is a Starbucks for those who fancy it right outside the hotel. A couple of fancy Japanese restaurants in the complex too. A supermarket right next door with an ATM inside. Holland Bakery is practically next door. There is always a Bluebird or two waiting in the driveway and a bunch of Ojeks drivers hanging our on the road, so transportation is not a challenge. Everyone knows the place.

All in all, absolutely fantastic value for money.

A couple of fancy Japanese restaurants in the complex too. Did you try any of these places? I was meaning to last trip but never got around to it. The Japanese garden in this hotel is very nice. Of note the Jonisteak a block away from Novotel smells like a sewer. If you need to go to Jonisteak for late night eats go to the good one beside Hotel Classic.

This was my first stay at the Grand Mercure in Harmoni.

This Hotel lives up to its 4 Star ranking. The Lobby is spacious with a triple height ceiling. Looks very airy and spacious when you enter.

The Harmoni Square restaurant is HUGE and located on the lobby level. They serve buffet breakfast and lunch. Dinner is a la carte.
The Hostess who welcomes you and walks you to the table is a cutie. She wears a long skirt (like a sarong) with a deep side-cut to the upper thigh.
Very sexy uniform. The hair is stylishly folded back and tied. (similar to Singapore Airlines Air Hostess).
While eating dinner, I chose a table so I could see her. I loved watching her walk back and forth with a side view of her upper thigh.
I started fantasizing, but since I was staying in the Hotel, I knew my advances would go no where. Next time, I plan to stay at another Hotel and visit this Restaurant as an "outsider".
I feel for these girls. It is not easy to deal with the locals in Jakarta - some men even blow cigarette smoke in their face, while speaking with them.

I stayed in a standard Non-Smoking room with Queen bed. The room is adequate for two adults.
The TV placement on the wall is perfect for watching while lying in bed. The size of the TV was good (40 or 42 inches).

PLUS
(1) Hotel is 100% girl friendly. You can bring any one. No ID required.
(2) House Keeping did a good job of cleaning the room. (I left a 14,000 IDR tip on the bed every day when I left the room).
(3) One evening, my request for extra towels and facial tissue box was delivered within ten minutes.
(4) Bathroom is very spacious with a Rain shower + hand-held shower. Water pressure is just adequate.
If the curtain is not drawn, you can watch your girl taking a shower from the room. A touch of Hollywood.
(5) The Hotel provides 4 bottles of 'Mineral Water' free every day.
(6) Blue Bird Taxis are always parked in the Hotel parking zone. When I checked out at 5.30 am in the morning, the Taxi was waiting for me.

MINUS
(1) The closet to hang your clothes is very small. I also had to request extra hangers. Cheap plastic hangers were delivered quickly.
(2) The desk is a little small. I prefer a larger desk but this is strictly personal preference.
(3) Like other Hotels, access to the ISG website is blocked. This was annoying since I was unable to circumvent this block.
(4) I paid approximately USD 65 per night. A little expensive, but I made my reservation only one week before arrival.
If you book couple of months in advance, your rate should be around USD 50 per night.

{Snip}Did you have drinks on the top floor (10th?) looking out over North Jakarta? A great view with expensive cocktails but worth having a look. If it is a slow night some of the female bar staff will sit with you if you are alone and hassle a drink or two out of you. I've only experienced this when the place was not so busy. Good fun though.

In regards to ISG, I experienced the same issue. My fix was to use Opera browser in VPN mode and I didn't have a problem after that other than the connection was slow.

This is a good hotel for one or two nights IMHO.

I did not get a chance to to visit the Roof top bar. I did visit the "Mens Spa". When I walked in, there were three girls (hostess) - all in blue uniform.
Two girls were sitting with other customers. I requested a tour and was shown the massage room. This room is huge (compared to the room in Classic).
The girl who gave me the tour was very friendly. She grabbed my hand while walking with me in the hallway. I was surprised.

Later, when I was back at the front desk, she kissed the hand of another Customer who was leaving the Spa. I guess they do this with all Customers. :)

I am curious if the Massage Therapists provide any "extra" services at this Spa. I was hoping to see the Therapists in person. I was only shown pictures on a smartphone.

I usually stick to local fare, so I am happy with the Bakmi and Bakso and Nasi Goreng and Nasi Padang and the likes. Only on one day I ventured out to Senopati for a good burger at Three Buns. Awful craft beer but stupendous burger. The fries were good, but a bit too salty for my liking.

I have eaten at Joni Steak in the past. I think Gandy is a tad better. Thoughts? Of course if you want a really good steak there are the more expensive place in Central Jakarta.

If anyone wants to know about the noise issue, skip ahead to the 4th paragraph. Made my first visit to Jakarta in February, and chose Four Points by Sheraton. The reservation was made by using the Marriott app. Price was substantially less than other properties I would have considered. Have been staying at Marriott properties (Four Points by Sheraton is within the Marriott "Bonvoy" group), so as to maintain my status.

Check in was friendly and efficient. I was provided the WiFi password which was good for my entire stay. Very reliable WiFi, and reasonable speed, with no issues. Very convenient location in Central Jakarta, and right on the TransJakarta bus line, and across the street is a KFC, Burger King, and Starbucks. Never went into these international name restaurants. Actually I had a very nice coffee for 15000 rupiah across the street in the 5 level mall. It is definitely not one of the fancy mega malls, but more for locals, for example you could buy any Muslim attire on the top level. On the bottom level is a great food court and also a very nice supermarket. Very good prices! At the hotel they prepare an excellent food buffet for breakfast starting at 6 am. Also had dinner in their restaurant, and chose the special which was spicy chicken and rice dish, with ice tea for 100,000 rupiah. I am now a big fan of Indonesian food.

This hotel has in room massage. I ordered the 90 minute oil massage for 365,000 rupiah. You call the front desk and they arrange the masseuse. The info card in the room does not mention anything about a hotel spa. It specifically states in room massage - 10 am to 12 pm, last order at 11 pm. Wondered about the Couples Massage "for 2 persons in the same room", which is 690,000 rupiah for 90 minutes. How does that work? 2 masseuse and the couple all on the queen size bed? Anyways, on my day of arrival (ANA flight from Tokyo that arrives at 4:30 am) I had a young, and quite attractive girl from Java. What a great body! Not a hard body, or a petite "spinner", but just really shapely and healthy. Got her Whatsapp number. On the second day (Javanese girl had her day off), I had a different massage, and had her do only a massage.

One feature of this hotel that some may appreciate. Outside and behind the hotel there are 3 or 4 loudspeakers mounted on a tall pole, so it was just below the level of my room, and about 100 meters away. Am alarm clock is completely unnecessary, because the first call begins at 4:40 am, and lasts for over 30 minutes. I will confirm that any Jakarta hotel booking I make in the future will be better or completely insulated from the daily calls. My last day, I was at the hotel for most of the day. I was a little tired in the afternoon (been up since 4:40 am), so laid down on the bed, but this did not work out well, as the calls happen during the afternoon as well. Then again at 6:45 pm, the evening call starts and lasts for 1 hour.

The Four Points by Sheraton is a very decent property. It has adequate furnishings in the room, nice mattress and pillows, good space for work, and excellent food.

On the bottom level is a great food court and also a very nice supermarket. Very good prices! That 5 level mall is called Sarinah mall. It may not be too impressive these days, but that was the first modern mall ever built in Indonesia and was all the rave back in the day. That is also the first place in Jakarta to have a McDonalds. When that McDonald's first opened, it was a big deal and people used to travel from outside Jakarta just to go to that McDonalds. LOL. It's still a good mall for tourists to visit because it still has an entire floor dedicated to only Indonesian souvenirs and carvings, which I find to be pretty cool. Those souvenirs used to be very cheap, but unfortunately, now they are expensive. When I first came to Jakarta 20 years ago, that was still a viable mall, but since big new nice malls like Grand Indonesia have been built, Sarinah is no longer considered a top mall in the city. Believe it or not, the Hard Rock Cafe was located in Sarinah until the mid 2000's and it was one of the best pickup spots in all of Jakarta at the time. It was a large Hard Rock with 2 floors. Good bands, plenty of ladies of the evening as well as plenty of non pro girls looking for fun, and people would be dancing on the tables drunk by 1 am. I have traveled all over the world and always go to the Hard Rock Cafe when I go to a new city, I've never been to any other Hard Rock anywhere in the world that was even close to as wild and fun as that Hard Rock in Sarinah. I used to go there almost every night. When they moved the Hard Rock out of Sarinah, it was a real shame because it went from my favorite place in the city to a place I won't even visit anymore. (Hard Rock Cafe is now in Pacific Place mall. A much nicer mall, but it's no fun anymore.) I still go to Sarinah to go to Chilis because that's the best hamburger in Jakarta and the rest of the food at Chilis is pretty good as well. There is a very good place to play pool there in Sarinah just next to Chilis. The Air Asia office is located in Sarinah now, so if you do need to buy or change an Air Asia ticket, that's a good place to go.

Not far down the road from your hotel, Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia malls are very modern and are within walking distance.

I will confirm that any Jakarta hotel booking I make in the future will be better or completely insulated from the daily calls. That's very good information. I find it a bit shocking they would put a hotel within close proximity of a mosque. I've never stayed at that hotel, but if there was a mosque waking me up, I would immediately demand to move to the other side of the hotel or I would change hotels. I just looked at their website and I notice one of the things they promote is they are not far from the biggest mosque in Indonesia. They must have an abundance of Muslims staying there. I would think they should tell you there is a mosque near the hotel when you check in and not put non-Muslims on the side of the hotel that has the mosque.

I was actually upgraded into the larger room. Could well be that they guessed my religion. It is a good place to stay, but will try a different property in April.

Looks like JWMarriott will work for me, but I think I get 1 free night at the Ritz Carlton. It is just slightly more than the JW.

Great history on the Sarinah mall and the Hard Rock.

I loved the location, so that's what I went with. The staff was also very accommodating. .*Moved this thread from Jakarta forum*.

Thanks for posting a trip report.
The Disclaimer in your report is appreciated. It provides an important reason for choosing this Hotel "....the regular travelers that likes to SAVE a buck".

I was curious to learn more about this Hotel. I learned:

-Hotel 55 is listed as a "Bed and Bath". Google gives it a 2 star rating.
-Lots of reviews complain about "weak AC" or "AC being in the wrong place".
-Room has no windows. "Built like a prison".
-Hotel Staff is "helpful" and "accommodating".

If you ONLY plan to visit Kota Indah. Then Hotel 55 does offer a strategic location.
However, I am sure there are other choices within walking distance OR a 5 minute Taxi ride to Kota Indah.

Folks who have stayed in this area please provide some name(s). Thanks!

If I'm going to be be picky, then it's true the room was windowless, the hot water was a lukewarm dribble and the A/C asthmatic, but hey. GBP 14!

I have a couple of simple questions regarding AirBnB in Jakarta. Anyone here that can enlighten me?

1. Is AirBnB allowed to operate legally in Jakarta? It isn't in several places, hence the question.

2. How is the attitude of security staff in the condos where the AirBnB apartments are most likely located towards our hobby. I don't care much for a smirk or a frown. My concern is really about being barred entry, or a complaint to the property owner, or worse yet a quick call to the cops.

Does anyone has any experience with this? If so, would you have recommendations on which apartment complexes to choose. Preferably in Central / South Jakarta.

I went to Hotel Classic last night as I'd never been.

Straight up to the 5th floor, as I walked into the main room a mamasan scooped me up, steered me to a table and took my order.

The trouble is, she wouldn't bloody leave me alone!

She went on and on about the girls "new one, very fresh", "no children, nice and tight" etc. Etc. When my large Bintang arrived I politely explained that I was going to drink it while looking at the girls then make my choice.

She still wouldn't bloody leave me alone!

I was a bit firmer and told her to go away. She came back with the manager, who wanted to know what the problem was. I explained calmly and politely that I had had a busy day, just wanted to sit there and have my beer, then rent a girl, then go home. He was all smiles (friendly bloke as it goes) "that's why we're here" he said, and the two of them walked away.

A minute later, I kid you not, she's only back with a girl in tow - "this one new, very nice"!

So I go up and walked to the other end of the room, was politely accosted by another mamasan but this one clearly had no hearing loss (and sat and drank the rest of the bottle in peace.

By now though, I was pissed off so I paid (102 k for the beer. Not actually that terrible a price) and went to leave. Original mamasan was hovering by the door and made a couple of comments in Bahasa which from the tone I could tell weren't complimentary. In any case, I was out of there so didn't care.

Walked round the corner to Sawah Besa station, jumped on a train to Jayakarta and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours in Starmoon.

Won't be bothering with Classic again.

Almost all hotels in Jakarta are GF friendly and all Kemang hotels would be without doubt, however steer clear of anything with Sofyan in the name, the first (and only in Jakarta?) hotel chain with Sharia certification.

I can personally vouch for Grand Kemang.
And POP is next door to Eastern Promise, which has a good amount of hookers since the Blok went to crap, many whom go next door with the married expats who don't want to bring someone home.

There aren't many of them, so you will really have to search to find one. But if you can find one and stay there, a good challenge would be to try to sneak girls in there to fuck. As an additional challenge, make as much noise as possible in the room while fucking so the people in the surrounding rooms can clearly hear.

Personally, I think this merger acquisition is fraught with potential problems and I fear that the high quality of these 2 Lines may be eroded over time.
............
Thus I would not stay at this hotel again unless it were priced accordingly at the same level as the Grand Hyatt or the Ritz Carlton, but I would pay a little more than Grand Hyatt prices to stay at the Fairmont again.Very useful input for me. Thanks a lot for that!!

Very useful input for me. Thanks a lot for that!!Update: while planning my next Jakarta visit I noticed the rates at the Shangri La have discounted a fair amount from $111 to $125 / night for advanced bookings. This is very competitive with other 5 star hotels. Maybe they read my review. LOL.

I already booked the Hyatt for a combination of $135/ night and Hyatt Points (12,000 pts / night) for my 1st 8 nights back and I booked the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place for 35,000 Marriott Points for a few nights. I never stayed at the RC Pacific Place before, but it looks top notch. So that leaves my last 6 nights open and I may very well book the Shangri La again. I enjoyed my 2 fer last night in Jakarta there with that BATS girl that much. Now if the Mulia ever gets real I would like to stay there with in house punting at CJ's. The lowest rate I have seen for the Mulia is on Agoda for $173/ night including breakfast for 1 person. I don't think a 1 person booking would be a problem at the Mulia especially if I was bringing a CJ's girl up to my room. No one would care. I think the reduced 1 party rate is simply to account for the lessor breakfast charge.

Make sure you dine at Ebeya, the finest Teppanyaki experience in Jakarta. Prices are steep, but its only money.

I would book that all day long and not even consider the Mulia at 173.

Stayed in two different hotels for this trip: first the HI on Gajah Mada and the Sari Pacific on Sarinah.

The HI is new so the rooms are clean and very spacious, but there is a very bad smell in the bathrooms. It's near the busway and very easy to get a taxi if needed on the street. Adjacent to the hotel is the CitiWalk which is a 4 story building with mostly restaurants different options but very pricey.

The pacific most know about it but it was my first time staying here, room is badly, mostly and very outdated. Anything you can imagine or think about that description is true. The location is great to move about and for 24 HR food. The gym is a pleasant surprise very well equipped.

Would appreciate if someone could confirm that both these places are girl friendly. Have a seven day visit to Jakarta coming up and planning to stay at the four points for 5 days and then Mandarin oriental for a couple of days as a treat to myself.

I have read and it seems like both are Girl friendly. But would like feedback from people who have stayed here preferably.

Thanks in advance.

My review of 4 Pts is back just 1 page.

Did not bring anyone back to hotel, so not especially helpful as the only woman I had in my room were from the massage service. It checked the box for me in more than one category.

What is special about Tuesdays? According to google, MO used to have a ladies night on both a Tuesday and Thursday. However according to jakarta100 bars the ladies nights ended by 2015.

I like that place as a place to take a girl I already know and listen to some live music.

I've been staying at Alila Jakarta since it opened in 2004, providing a strategic position to many a mongering hot spots. So it.

Caught my attention when the property was recently acquired and rebranded as Sparks Luxe Jakarta.

Does anyone know if the Sparks group is offering some of their more infamous lifestyle options to this property?

I'm due to visit Jakarta again soon and would be keen to revisit the property if such discerning services are being.

Offered to guests.

I stayed at the CO the other night as a mattress run for the current IHG Accelerate campaign.

It is a nice hotel, but there is a big sign by the lifts about no unregistered guests being allowed, plus the lift lobhynis a long walk past the front desk staff.

Didn't try to bring a girl in, but feel she would probably be challenged if I did.

Looking on airbnb for some nice 2 bedrooms apartment full furnished in condo with swimming pool and gym, many offers and cheap prices.

This will be our first trip in Indonesia and try to study and figure out google maps and locate all the brothels we would like to visit.

Many airbnb apartment are located in the area you can see in the map, is this a good area to stay? Grocery store, shopping malls and restaurant near?

Checking google maps it's seems this area is just around 5-6 km to Classic hotel, 7-8 km to King Cross and Kelapa Gading, 6-7 km to brothels in JL Pangeran Jayakarta, 10 km to train tracks near Tugu Pekojan, etc.

So it's seems not far from many places.

Info and advice? We prefer airbnb over hotels, also we don't have interest in nightlife disco or clubs and prefer brothels for multiple STs.

Thanks in advance.

First post here.

I was in Jakarta in June 2018, I really enjoyed my 24 days in Java. I preferred to go to the non tourist areas, and quite often spent my time walking streets of North Jakarta, (Glodok), Bandung, Jogja and Surabaya alone and often at night, always felt safe. Would go to shopping malls with 2000 people, one white person (me) and never any hassle. First night in Indo was at Fave Hotel Glodok, stayed there, very nice room, price reasonable, 330,000 IDR, suits my budget. Downstairs in sun city though I did not know it was there at that time. They have in room massage, ordered a massage, girl very pretty, massage OK, for extra she wanted 1 million or something like that (full service), not knowing the prices I thought it was too much. After a couple days in Glodok I went to the Fave hotel Gaga Madah, which was a bit more south and a bit west and closer to the center of town. Again very nice room and only 350,000 IDR.

Note that you can pay less if you join the Fave hotel program (You get discounts, I can't recall if you have to spend a few nights, but it did seem pretty good deal), from memory a saving or ten to fifteen percent at least.

In room massage at Fave Hotel Gaga Medah, was OK but no extras there (massage is just massage and overpriced). I can also recommend Fave Hotel in Yogjakarta. I think Fave is a lot better than POP hotel, I stayed in POP once and although clean and OK, I thought it nowhere near as nice as Fave. In general I found Fave hotels to be very good and also good value. There may be some hotels that are a bit better, maybe better value for money, and of course five star hotels that cost a lot more are no doubt better, just saying for around the 300 K to 350 K for the night (even less if you join there membership program) found Fave to be very nice places to stay for good value.

Yo give you an idea how naive I was in Jakarta on my first day, I got the plane into the airport, then the train to some railway station, but because it was Ramadan everything was closed. I did not know how to buy a ticket because I did not know how to speak Bahasa, did not know that Grab existed, and did not know those little trucks that go up and down the street were simple hop on hop off taxis that you pay 2000 rupiah for (20 cents Australian), so I walked 3 hours to get to the hotel in the heat.

Did not know about twitter, did not have phone set up for Tinder (afterwards I found I had 99 plus likes, and went out with a few girls), so to get a girl for first night used Locanto, girl was very pretty but expensive. After that I wiseded up and did not use Locanto any more. The best one was Milly, I met her outside Kings Cross place in Kelapa Gadang. Place was closed due to Ramadan, she was just hanging out there. Had a very nice night for 700 K, went once, very nice, she then fell asleep and started snoring. I did not sleep fully because was concerned about my wallet etc. In the morning went again and enjoyed.

Got a massage to my room in Surabaya, was 300 K at 2 am in the morning. I got the details from tinder or twitter, can't recall. Used wattsap to contact. Girl was ok looking but very nice. I thought 300 K was just for massage but was also for extra (full service), I think I paid a tip as well, maybe 440 K all up.

Some street girls in Yogjakarta, you only see them as they are near the train station when you get off. But even at 300 K for short time, hmm, girl was not pretty and room was dingy, dirty with no shower, yeah no thanks. All in all think twitter / tinder quite OK way to go, maybe tinder better as girls on twitter seem to have an organiser and start off at 1 j for short time, will quickly come down after a little negotiation. I know this is about hotels, just saying would recommend Fave as a pretty OK hotel brand, you may well be able to get a bit better value for money elsewhere, but generally pretty good. I found breakfast very good in all Fave hotels (the prices I quoted did not include breakfast), I think it was 70.000 IDR or less, but very good. All staff spoke English.

On the second day (Javanese girl had her day off), I had a different massage, and had her do only a massage..Does the inroom massage include extras.

Thanks.

Curious how guys feel about using Airbnbs for mongering. Last week I rented an Airbnb in Central Jakarta. Nice place 3 bedrooms, nice tower. I brought several sets of ladies up the lifts and into the apartment. On leaving after 4 nights, I noticed what looked like a ceiling mounted camera near the entrance. Well Fuck. That's not good! I casually mentioned something to the host about whether that was a camera for safety purposes. He said, yeah, but they never look at the tape unless someone has stolen something. Needless to say, I am not trusting that. Has anyone heard or seen this before? Given the transparency required to rent an airbnb, credit cards, etc. This seems like a great chance for some extortion or otherwise.

Anyone heard of other Airbnb's doing the same. Damn cameras are so fucking small a perve could fill his house with them and you might never notice.

Noticed (by accident) that some of the apartments listed had security cameras mentioned in the "things to know section" of the listing. Had never seen that before so was a bit shocked. If you read the airbnb fine print, they are only allowed to be in the public areas of the apartment. Not allowed to be anywhere were people sleep etc. My thought was that if the lounge area doesn't have a sofa bed then theoretically they could have a camera there. Now I have a very horny non P4 P friend who likes to be shagged everywhere and anywhere: lounge, balcony, you name it she wants it, so any apartment that mentions security camera is on the blacklist.

How can you pay good money and have a fucking spy camera in the unit. I don't care where it is. Airbnb should make notice of this a highlighted item. The unit I rented didn't disclose the camera, I just happened to spot it. I get that people are worried about security, but privacy trumps security when we are talking about inside an apartment or a hotel room. The owner could easily use such footage for blackmail or other purposes, either soon after the visit, or months in the future.

It's all pretty poor up there, so not many nice hotels. I often will stay at the Pullman in Central Park Mall which is a bit closer to the airport than the other more central places. Staying near a mall provides better food choices, a grocery store if you want buy some beer or snack food.

Another option is to stay up on the water at the resort that's close to the airport, that can be a short drive to the Kota Indah northern spots. There's a Swiss Hotel that's not bad: Swisstel Jakarta PIK Avenue.

Basically the name of the game is travel time and that's mostly driven by traffic which is worse in Central JK.

Hello, newbie question here. If you paid and you're getting a decent veggie massage, is it ok to ask for a happy ending? Or should you wait for the provider to offer it?

I keep hearing that many will do it, but I don't know if it's improper to ask for it in the wrong kind of place.

I have an upcoming stay at the new Park Hyatt. Does anyone know if this new 5/6 star hotel is guest friendly? I might be bringing back a FL for LT.I think all the hotels in Jakarta are guest friendly except the ones with religious affiliations. I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt (great location & grand patio pool), the Shangri -la (great pool & a FL pick up bar in the basement), The JW Mariott (lousy pool), the Fairmont (really nice), and the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place (I liked this one too), but I never had the opportunity to stay at the Park Hyatt. The Park H. Looks pretty good. I think you will enjoy Jakarta there.

And it looks like things are fairly back to normal in Jakarta with Malio Club / Malioboro, Classic Hotel & Kings Cross up and running. But I haven't heard about 1001 Hotel, Colosseum Club, or CJ's at the Mulia. Jakarta was one of my favorite destinations pre-covid. I have been meaning to go back, but I can't seem to tear myself away from SP girls. I am sure you know what I mean. Ha Ha.

But would I do the same in 2 or 3 years time, probably not in Jakarta if the law actually comes into affect, but have no worries about Bali. One arrest of Bali will shut the tourism industry down.

Last time in 2020 stayed two nights in BHeaven west Jakarta and the hotel is having a well set Spa in the 9th or 10th floor with direct access via lift. "Dutch wife" concept.

I enjoyed the stay too.Coming on next month and looking for a 3/4 star hotel with Spa and the bar can be considered as a pick up place. Prefered in South and Central Jakarta. Expecting pointers from experienced friends.

Some day admin is going to post at the top of this forum.

"With the exception of a tiny number of family-run shariah-compliant hotels that you are never going to check into, every hotel in Jakarta is girl friendly. If you don't have one, the staff will be happy to find someone for you. ".

It would save a lot of time if they did.

ETA: I just realised I posted this exact same message a half a dozen posts below this. Does no one read the forum?I have done the RTFF more than most, both here and the Jakarta forum. I did see what you quoted above in a previous post, but I didn't see any specific posts regarding the Park Hyatt Jakarta.

I was hoping someone might have stayed at this specific hotel and had personal experiences with taking a FL back, rather than a general rule of thumb about the city, no matter how accurate it might be.

This is especially true, when the Park Hyatt Jakarta bills itself as the first 6 star hotel in Jakarta, even though there is no such thing, and it's all marketing hogwash. It has also been my personal experience from staying at other Park Hyatts around the world that their staff is super service oriented and knows just about everything that goes on in the hotel. They watch you like a hawk, but are usually very discreet, especially if you are as well.

The hotel layout also has more layers of security and staff you have to go through before you even get to the room elevators, so it's not easy to just mosey on by without been seen.

I am pretty sure that if my girl and I don't make a scene, we'll be fine. However, I was hoping maybe someone had first hand experience to share. As it's a new hotel and pretty high end so not the type of hotel most BM use for hobbying or business. I might end up being the first in this forum to report on it, which I will, after my upcoming stay.

Have no fear about "making a scene" just walk into the lobby with your friend, stroll to the lift, or have a drink at the bar, or ask reception about tours around town, or sit and read the paper with her, or do whatever you like, the staff won't give a flying fcuk what you and her do.

You may well be the first poster here to make a report from the hotel, we look forward to learning how the other half live, but you will most certainly not be the first guest to bring a little friend (or two, or six) back with him to his room.

Not by a very long chalk indeed.

Especially if you like Moroccan women. If you stay at Harris Suites FX Sudirman, you can walk there in 2 minutes. It's closer to South Jakarta than North Jakarta, but you will likely fall in love the first night at DeLeila and not need to travel elsewhere.Any chances of meeting Moroccan girls in Jakarta? DeLeila permanently closed. Where the next luck is?

Just finished a brief 2 night / 3 days stay at the Park Hyatt Jakarta and it is a beautiful new property that is worthy of the Park Hyatt name. I found the location ideal for me, as it's in a quiet area of town with lots of embassies and high end residential properties, as well as a fantastic view of Monas. From a hobbying perspective, I also liked its location a lots as it's sorta between the big brothels to the north (Malio, Classic, etc.) and the FL bars to the south (BATS and CJs).

The service was very personal and bespoke. Almost all the staff knew my name by day 2. Including those I haven't met before. They had a greeter for everyone arriving at the sky lobby until the late evening.

Breakfast buffet was very extensive and high end, with a good selection of a la carte dishes. Afternoon tea was a bit mediocre for a 5 star property and dinner was only above average. The bar had a great selection of high end whiskeys which I enjoyed greatly.

The pool and sun deck gave a breath taking view of the city and the spa facilities and gym was top notch, with a sauna, steam room, ice cold, hot soaking pools, as well as a large Jacuzzi.

Their loyalty recognition was phenomenal for Globalists, as I was upgraded to their top bookable suite, which was very spacious with high tech gadgets, original local art pieces and top quality finishes throughout the suite.

As expected, the place was girl friendly, as they are very discreet, even if they are attentive. Their room rates are competitive with the other 5 star hotels in Jakarta, and really cheap for the quality and service, due to it being in Jakarta rather than NY, Paris or Tokyo. And I liked this Park Hyatt better than 2 of those 3 Park Hyatts.

Still confused to select a hotel in Central Jakarta near happening places and food streets. Red Top, Aryaduta and Vertu Harmoni in the final round. Reaching there on Feb mid so time to finalise.Have stayed at Redtop and Harris Vertu Harmoni. Not much around Redtop and not a nice area at all. Pecenongan can get crowded at night for all the street vendors. Great staff. Decent rooms but there are better options nearby for a far better price. Major advantage Hotel Classic is a 5 minute walk but if you want to be near Classic just stay at Classic. Travel, Kimochi Mabes, and Kota Indah are nearby. They exclusively use Bluebird taxis and this is a must for hotels I stay at.

Harris Vertu Harmoni. There is a mall downstairs with lots of good restaurants. A much more convenient location on Hayam Waruk. Great staff. They use Bluebird as well. Taxis know where this hotel is but unless you say Redtop with an Indo accent they won't have a clue where Redtop is. It's the hotel our old friend Smoothy used to always recommend. This would be my pick. A bit further to Classic Travel etc but Malio is across the street.

Aryaduta. Never stayed in this area but by looking on the map likely the nicest area down by Grand Indonesia mall and closer to BATS and CJs. If the nightclub thing is your MO this is your better choice. Will take much longer to get to KI, Travel, and Classic. Anytime you have to pass the traffic around National Monument add 15-30 minutes to your ride.

Grand Mercure Harmoni is also another option, its a pretty decent hotel chain. Its 15 minutes walk from Classic, 5 minutes walk from Malio.

Thanks BB. Aryaduta seemed to be my ideal place for operation.Aryaduta used to have a tiny bar called the Tavern. I don't know what's it like these days. It was run by an Austrian or German bloke. On weekend nights a handful of FL's would be available there. I picked up an Eurasian girl there a couple of times, she was a regular and came there quite often. A hot hairdresser.

It's good value for money. Older style hotel. Partly renovated about 11/12 years ago. Prior to Covid they they made a distinction between renovated and non-renovated rooms. The non-renovated rooms the cheaper option, old furniture and a bit worn out, I used to stay in the renovated ones. The business lounge is ok-ish.

Hello everybody.

Do someones know an hotel with swimming pool near Classic Hotel?

I would stay near Classic for girls, but I would prefer to stay in a normal hotel to live.

I am looking one with swimming pool, outside, cheaper but nice clean.

Some suggestion?

Six nights trip was just over. Stayed first two nights in Holiday inn Mangga Bassar. Good hotel big rooms and good breakfast at a moderate price of $55 per night through Agoda.

Location was shitty but as a second time visitor in Jakarta didn't felt it so. BB warned me early about the location. Action places are little away. Next time won't stay. I always prefer walkable distance or fast to reach in Grab or Blue bird to the targeted spots.

Third and fourth day stayed in Harris Vertu. Room small but clean, breakfast good. But location is good. Walkable distance to Malio Club, Emporvium and even Classic. $50 per night. I think Grand Mercure will be a better option in that area, suggestions expected. Interesting part is that, met a tall service girl in the restaurant talked and collected her number and now in touch with her. It was a good experience that in Jakarta it is easy to approach a smiling girl with positive face can lead to a fortune. Will that be in mind. He he.

Last two nights stayed in BFashion in West. Not much far. Stayed last time there for a night and enjoyed the spa. After staying in Holiday inn and Vertu, felt BFashion as substandard. Spa is good even though not much girls. But not much crowded. Totally spa is good as the sauna, jacuzzi, steam room are budget friendly with a massage and full service for just 735 K.

Met one service girl in the restaurant last day, talked with her. She is ready to join me in my next visit.

BFashion still cheap $40 per night. Breakfast not upto the standard. Good Malls nearby.

Traveled to South Jakarta this time. Felt it as a great clean place to stay. Next time will check in a good hotel in South.

Thanks to all friends who supported me and Expecting help in upcoming trips.

Long live Mongering.

I think Grand Mercure will be a better option in that area, suggestions expected. On the left of Grand mercure harmoni, there's Ibis Harmoni. Although its a budget hotel, its actually pretty decent (clean bed, clean room) for around 500 k IDR per night iirc. And there's also a McDonald's right next to Ibis Harmoni hotel. Breakfast at Ibis is very bare minimal though.

Hello gents,

I am going to be in Jakarta and staying at the Grove Suites for a week. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel regarding what bars to go to pick up working girls? Much appreciated. It's more like a service apartment at Grove Suites. There's a supermarket at the basement of the compound and restaurants on the ground floor. Otherwise, it's just ok, no WOW factor for me.

Picking up working girls, nearest probably would be Shangri La (BATZ Bar), Mulia Hotel (CJ's) IMHO. Otherwise maybe you want to try your luck around Mega Kuningan / SCBD with office girls.

Hi all,

Just a quick question in case anybody has looked at this before / recently.

One of the things I definitely want to include in my next trip to Jakarta in Sep / Oct is to spend at least 2-3 nights a bit more upscale than usual (possibly Mandarin Oriental / Oakwood etc.) and get a room with a view. Partially since it is a view that I would like to share with a lady while enjoying some quality time. It seems that a corner room in the Mandarin with Monument View could be nice (on a first glance from a view perspective may beat e. G. The Mulia).

Budget can be relatively flexible, but based on a quick look at what is out there would target approx. USD 150-200 per night for this (I. E. The penthouse suites aren't really in my budget in most cases).

Does anyone have experience with the "with a view" aspect?

Best regards.

Thommy.

I usually use booking dot com with the option of same day cancellation, specially if I want certain type of room with certain view. Also, make sure to include that in Booking msg and call up the hotel or visit (if you are in Jakarta) to confirm that you would only accept certain desired room. They will probably tell you "it depends on the availability" but be firm on your preference and make it very clear the fact of cancellation if you don't get the room. 90% of the time you will get it. Don't hesitate to BS saying you are their regular returning client and you always prefer certain room.

Thommy.Thommy, there are a number of very excellent 5 star hotels in Jakarta. There is a lot to choose from. So, I rate the Mandarin as a pretty good 5 star hotel and I am sure you will have a pleasant stay there if you decide to book it, but the Hyatt across the street is IMHO the better hotel for a number of reasons.

1) I really like the Hyatt pool / garden. It is really great.

2) the Hyatt's king bedrooms are nicely appointed and larger than Mandarin's king rooms and the view from a room on a high floor of the Hyatt is just as good (if your Hyatt room faces west).

3) On location: it may not seem like a big deal, but the Hyatt's location on the east side of Jl. M. H. Thamrin above the Plaza Indonesia is a big plus thanks to the mall's many restaurants, a pharmacy, and its gourmet grocery store. It is very convenient.

4) The Hyatt is usually priced below the Mandarin, so it is no brainer. Check out the Hyatt before you make any decisions.

And note there are some newer 5 stars like the Fairmont and the Hyatt Park that might qualify as 6 star hotels. You might want to consider these two, if money is not an issue. The views are very good at these hotels too although not the iconic view you are looking for at the Mandarin or the Grand Hyatt. Lastly, I have never stayed at the Mulia. Too pricey for me, and it; s location is kind of isolated. You will need a taxi to go anywhere, but it is huge bonus to have a room above CJ's. I stayed at the Shangri La one time. I liked staying in thae hotel in a room above Bats. The Shangri La pool and a garden area rivals the same at the Grand Hyatt.

Stayed here over 2 weeks. Yes girl friendly. But once you go to Jakarta you'll realize why most here find that question stupid to begin with.

Hotel right now is in the shit side of construction. Loud and polluted heavy equipment across the street. (Traffic is psychotic and horrible). Taxi's will get confused since there are MANY IBIS hotels. Bring your hotel key or business card with the hotels' address of Jl Hayam Wuruk No 35, Jakarta Trust me. I just saved you countless minuities of talking to the taxi drivers. Especially the blue 3 wheel Tuk Tuk's. Jumping out to ask another driver where this Bule's hotel is. Not many will know but say they know and still need to ask to make sure it is the right IBIS hotel. But fortunately this is the biggest negatives of the hotel.

This is a budget hotel directly next to Grand Mercure on the left and a 24 hours McDonalds to the right. Walking distance to the right is the Malio Club, and some restaurants like Dunkin Doughnuts, A&W and Indo Mart. Across the street there is a grocery store that has beer and soft drinks and chips and vegetable's and orange juice, etc.

The Hotel has a Good Bed. Not too soft and not like a rock. Very decent at this price point. They have 4 pillows. Soft! The shower is very powerful with hot water. Plenty of toilet paper and the usual signs to not flush it (like so many Asian hotels sorry not sorry). You get 2 mineral waters a day. Room is somewhat small and I did not have a slidable window much less a balcony. This is an Alcor brand hotel. Like Motel 6 but better quality. Especially the bed. No desk but there is a small couch type place to sit and make it a make-shift desk. For those who are picky. The rooms are dirty. I was surprised that the carpet had so many stains. The coffee pot was dirty, the water glasses were dirty, the hallway has dirty carpet. Sheets were fine and I am not picky at this price point. As I drink soda and beer in their own cans anyway. Staff was perfect. Elevator very smooth. One possible problem (and I hesitate here. Because I am NOT sure) but I think the air filters are probably dirty too. As I got a 48 HR flu and always kept the AC on. When I arrived the safe had a dead battery and I think my room wasn't rented in a long time. I am thinking the stale dirty polluted air and their dirty hvac got me sick, but this is just a guess. Maybe it was a girl? Anyway, safe worked fine. Small fridge (no freezer). No issues with security. WIFI worked. would be slower during 8pm - 10pm but still usable. WIFI password needs to be re-loaded every day but I auto - saved password to make it seamless. Closet space was a joke. Maybe 3 or 4 shirts - but honestly I am not picky about these things as I just kept most my stuff in luggage anyway. There seems to be lots of locals who meet here for business and have conferences, etc. I never ate at the restaurant. Always ordered my food by Gojek delivery. Oh and the driver will leave at the lobby for you. No stolen food - the parking attendants will store it for you at their booths. 2 ATMS, both useless to me since they only spit out 50K IDR notes and max of just 1.25 mil?! Overall Ibis Harmoni has decent accommodations in a shitty part of central Jakarta. It is NOT a "nice" hotel like Grand Mulia is. But it is decent enough. It was safe, staff friendly bed and shower good.

I will say that someone mentioned they could walk from here to Classic in 15 mins. This is the main reason I chose Central Jakarta and this hotel. To be closer to Classic and Kota Inda. I would highly suggest to get get a blue bird taxi instead... "walking" around here SUCKS, especially now with all the construction.

You touched on all the major issues - from the Shower to WiFi. I wish all Hotel reviews were this detailed.

+ IBIS is part of the Accor Group (correcting the typo in your post).

+ The Holiday Inn & Suites, Gajah Madah is a better choice. This Hotel is nearby. The price is higher than the IBIS, of course, but lower than the Grand Mercure Harmoni. I will only stay in this Hotel *after* the Construction ends in early 2026.

+ Luminor Hotel Kota (Jl. Raya Mangga Besar) is another option which comes close to the IBIS price. The bonus is you are right next door to the Lokasari Plaza. Look for streetwalkers after 11 pm.

+ Walking to Classic is very difficult. I only tried it ONE time when I stayed at the Grand Mercure. The better option is to take the mini-bus running in front of the Grand Mercure. This is a private business and not Government operated. If you are in a hurry, take the Blue Bird Taxi.

Thanks,

Hi!

I am looking for an old colonial house in north Jakarta with reasonable price, and a colonial palace (what ever the price) for staying 1 or 2 days, maybe the Mercure?

Like, respectively, in Surabaya, Hotel Paviljoen and the Majapahit, but unfortunately Surabaya is dead since the closure of Dolly in 2014, never come back to Indonesia since then.

It seems action in Jakarta is almost unchanged, and hotels where I used to stay are closed.

Do you also know a hotel, colonial or not, near the sea? Even if its in a creepy area but close to our entertainment places.

After days of grueling research, I finally whittled it down to 3 hotels for my upcoming stay in Jakarta. Which one should I choose for the best location, girl-friendliness and quality?

1) Golden Boutique Hotel Kamayoran.

I'd be booking the "suite", which goes for less than $100/ night: https://www.booking.com/hotel/id/golden-boutique-angkasa-jakarta.html.

2) Novotel Jakarta Cikini Hotel.

I'd be booking the "Executive Suite, 1 king bed, also for less than $100/ night: https://all.accor.com/hotel/9799/index.en.shtml.

3) Merlynn Park Hotel.

I'd go for the "Prada Suite", should I stay here (less than $100/ night): https://www.booking.com/hotel/id/merlynn-park.html#.

About location, if you want to be near the action, Merlynn Park is relatively the closest one, though not very near. The other two are not.

I read on another blog that you should book your hotel right in between the southern and northern part of the city, ideally in the area around the Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall. This way, you'll minimize your travel time to both areas (the north containing the sex hotels and the Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta red light district, the south containing the other 2 red light districts in Jakarta: Jalan Falatehan I and Melawai).

I narrowed it down to the 3 hotels I listed because they are sort of a compromise between quality, price and location.

Which area of Jakarta should I focus on more for P4 P sex, the north or south?

Like most blogs that a cursory search outside of this forum turns up. It's like they're frozen in time. Melawai doesn't even exist as a 'spa' anymore. Blok M only worth visiting now if you want to reminisce. You'll see the same girls from more than 10 years back (and a lot fewer of them) and they're there to catch up with old friends after going to Eastern Promise anyway. If you were never part of that time / group. Don't bother.

I'd recommend the area around Grand Mercure in the north, or the cluster of hotels around Hayum Waruk / Mangga Besar intersection. The latter has easy enough access to all the popular joints mentioned here. Before it was just the Mercure Jakarta Kota there, now there's a bunch. A novatel, hotel santika etc. Also KFC, pizza hut, starbucks down the road and a mall on the other side easily accessible via the busway overpass. Mercure is cheap. Rooms still have the same carpet and furnishings from 20 years ago with no change (beds are fine), but clean and cheap. MRT construction outside, but the single lane in each direction has actually improved the traffic, as no-one drives through there unless they absolutely need to.

Mercure also offers views from top floors of Stadium. That is triggering (in a sad longing way). If you don't know what that means, you definitely don't want to be relying on anything written outside of here. Or on here not from the last three years. Case in point. Go visit Jakarta 100 bars dot ******** dot com. The first page doesn't even mention anything to do with Jakarta bars clubs etc. It's all outside Indonesia articles. That is a good indication of how far things have slipped.

Clean, between Kota indah and Mangga Besar, not expensive (20 € a night with Agoda), and with a swimming pool?

In fact, they're listed first, though, in all fairness, it rates the quality and quantity of the girls in Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta (north JK) as best:

https://girlsheavens.com/red-light-districts-in-jakarta/#3.

Based on your assessment, and the consensus on this forum, my vote goes to north JK, as it seems to have more variety (a red light district + several sex hotels). And, since I only have 3 nights in Jakarta, it would be wasteful to spend potentially hours in traffic to traverse the city to check out a has-been mongering district in the south.

Quick read shows it's written by someone who hasn't ever been to Jakarta, or has no idea at all. Or both.

Melawai refers to the karaoke bar area, next to the infamous and long closed hotel Melawai 6th floor which is what I was thinking of. Both currently offer the same action on site. None.

The's place hasn't been called that in a few years at least, and only partially resembles it's old past. In facade only.

Calling all three the red light district centres of Jakarta really shows the lack of knowledge of the city. I'll stand by my assessment of the locales and venues.

In three days about the only reason you'll need to venture south is to CJs and BATs to look for an overnighter. Will probably be cheaper with much younger and better looks getting one out of the 'hotels' these days anyway!

If not, the price is often 3 times the price of other hotels in the area. Why I don't know, and why you would stay there at that price I really don't know. Come in sucker?

BTW used to be a club 36? In that hotel. Once a wild reputation for nude dancers. Long gone when I visited. That was in 2010.

Thanks! And google says: "no close Mr". Maybe I used the Indo version.

Closest is Shangrila, but the traffic flow is the wrong way. Only a small mall with cinema nearby. In my Jakarta travels, I may have passed by that area two or three times. That tell you all you need to know?

Hello mongers, planning to be in Jakarta for 3 days. Please advise hotel accordingly so traffic can be avoided. Are all GF friendly hotels, any in particular to be avoided. I did RTFF and shortlisted the below:

Novotel Jakarta Gajah Mada, Mercure Jakarta Batavia, Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada, Mercure Jakarta Kota, Hotel Santika Premiere Hayam Wuruk Jakarta, Jayakarta Hotel Jakarta.

Plan is to be close to Classic / Travel and similar places in the area for day action and then perhaps hit BAT / CJs in the evening to bring an overnighter. So is staying in North a doable / advisable option. Throw some light.

Hello,

I suggest you choose between Novotel Gaja Mada, Holiday Inn Gaja Mada and Santika Premiere.
These 3 Hotels are LESS than one Kilometer from each other.

The Holiday Inn Gaja Mada gets good reviews and is considered good value.

The Santika Premiere is in the same price range as the Holiday Inn. However, it has a Sky Lounge on the top floor. You may find a companion here and invite her to your room (Pre-Covid experience).

The Santika is also very close to the famous Mangga Besar. Visit in the evening after 9 pm. Its a 10 minute walk from the Santika. Lots of hustle & bustles with plethora of local eateries.

Good Luck!

There is a BM who just posted in Jakarta Upcoming Trip thread that he is staying for a week. AT Classic Hotel. I encourage him to post a review or even a few sentences after he returns. I would consider staying there too. To avoid the traffic. And since I am an alcoholic - It would be so convenient to just "stay put. " and not have to stagger back in a damn Taxi or GoJek and wait wait wait... I do know there are much nicer hotels available - but....to me it seems like a great idea to park my ass near the well on my next trip. Peace!

I stayed at this hotel for a week.

Girl Friendly. Yes. 101%. I had multiple girls visiting me on the same day, few girls were together at the same time. One at 2 AM etc. No issues whatsoever. Life need access control but staff is ready to help when you call them up and request for the girl to be allowed.

Location. Around 20 Km from airport. Its a good location near to Classic (8 Min) Travel (4 Mins) , Emporium (12 Mins) and lots of food joints across the street. Costs max 30 K on grab car oneway. However, all girls who visited me complained that this is quite far. Not sure if that is a trick for more taxi money though.

Staff. Super cooperative. They were very very helpful. They helped me with taxi booking too.

Breakfast. Very large spread including a separate Indo counter for those who may want to try the local cuisine.

Room. Clean. Big enough with a good and spacious bath. Hot and Cold water. There is a no jacuzzi here. TV, Mini Freezer were available.

Restaurant. Available at the lobby level where you can sit and relax in the evening or grab a snack and one at 22nd Floor which had around 4 tables. Sky longue was not great.

FreeLancers. I did not find any at the sky lounge. I did see one or two seated at the lobby but I did not dare to proceed as I was not sure.

Travel Desk. Not available.

Great breakfast and hotel restaurant was good. But nothing much in the walking vicinity in terms of good eats.

Yes I've stayed there and no problem bringing a girl back. ATM is directly across the road at the bank opposite the hotel. Room is OK. Breakfast I thought wasn't that great mostly cornflakes that were tasteless I didn't eat them again after the First time. There is no option. To eat at the hotel unless its breakfast which was annoying. I didn't see anywhere around to eat either. High end shopping mall is nearby still need a grab taxi to take you there. Not much else to say really.

It's in North Central area, about 1 mile North of the green, leafy, upscale central government district with the National Monument, Main Mosque, huge Greek Orthodox church with twin tall metal towers across the street.

Travel club and Lockasari Plaza are about 1. 5 miles North, $1 Grab Bike or $2 Grab Car. Jalan Ceylon 1 block SW has some good, clean restaurants. Many AYCE grills and shabus are $1 ride away.

Classic is nice, clean, quiet, all shiny marble and tile floor with red teak wood furniture.

Service is very good and professional. Towels and sheets are fresh, clean, sparkling white, far better than other hotels. Smoking rooms have strong ventilation to suck out smoke in the room when turned on. They also have open windows to outside air.

It has a good breakfast buffet 88 are or $6 with strong coffee, eggs cooked to order and other tasty Indonesian dishes. It's closer to a 5 star hotel in LOS Angeles.

Of course the 2 clubs in the same building is very convenient. Classic Clubs and the girls do better and more honest business than Travel.

Yosephine is the manager. She will do better deals than Agoda, $25 without and $28 with breakfast, very good deal considering a small bowl of noodle soup will cost $4 in a filthy shop nearby. Contact her by email or phone on the web site to reserve.

In my two visits in 2019 and 2023,I stayed in Classic, Holiday inn, Mercure in Central Jakarta and Bfashion in West Jakarta. IMHO Mercure is the topnotch. Access to all popular places like Classic, Travel and walkable distance to Emporvium, Malio. Great 5 star property with moderatly priced. Of course girlfriendly. Have a bar and lucky you can get joiners from there itself.

Vertu Harmony is near Mercure. Great location good breakfast but rooms bit smaller. 4 star property and around40 $. I am still in contact with a beautiful girl in the restaurant and will meet her outside this time. Holiday inn is an awesome spacious hotel with great breakfast and is accessable to North Jakarta. 1001 colossium. It took 40 minutes to travel to Kelapa Gading from there. Metro work was going on in 2023 Feb so traffic congestion, don't know about present situation.

Bfashion was an old hotel in West Jakarta. I enjoyed Dutch wife concept of Jakarta hotels there in my first visit. Spa was good and I still have contact with a beautiful girl from the spa in Bfashion. In my second visit it felt the room was cramped. Hotel is close to Airport so last night I prefer to stay here.

In my upcoming trip to Jakarta in February, my plan is to stay in South Jakarta and focus on the Spas, bars, clubs and freelancers from there. Harris Suits or any 4 star hotel is my target close to Eastern Province or Mblock, Dragon fly or H Club. Expecting some pointers from Veterans in Jakarta.

Regards.

If you are expecting the same setup as Bangkok or Pattaya then you will be disappointed. The girls in Thailand are much more independent than those in Jakarta. The prostitution scene is closely controlled in all ways. Girls do not operate independently at places like Classic, they are under strict control of management and mama sans. So they will keep them under their premises and make you use the short term rooms. However the ST rooms are perfectly fine and clean. Sheets are changed after every customer. Showers are nice and have hot water. And then why mess up your clean sheets in your room that you sleep on?

It's nice, clean, quiet. Floors are all shiny marbles and tiles. Rooms are larger than competition. Sheets and towels are bright white, nice and fresh. Everything works properly including the large tv with streaming.

Breakfast is much better than competition. I like good coffee in the morning without having to walk out. The 2 clubs with lots of hot girls right next to it is precious.
