Thanks Hillbilly, it is apt. 302 in centauro and apt. 705 in Mirador.

I read somewhere that Mirador is not as chica friendly, is that true?

I really don't want to hassle each time I bring a girl, the concierges should be fine with it, if the owners have any problems with bringing girls than I don't wwant to stay there.I can't vouch for either of those apartments because I haven't stayed, I might have been inside 705 briefly, but yes Mirador has a varied chica policy and the most strict in my opinion.

I can't vouch for either of those apartments because I haven't stayed, I might have been inside 705 briefly, but yes Mirador has a varied chica policy and the most strict in my opinion.I am currently staying at the Mirador and have not had any problems bringing girls up to my apartment. Before my wife arrived, I had three different girls from the beach and from LDV at different times of the day. One girl came unannounced and the front desk called asked if was OK for her to come up and after replying Yes, she was allowed up without any issues.

Once my wife came, we brought a girl from LDV to spend the night and again no issue. Also, had no issues bringing up other friends to drink and eat. One issue the last two days, the pool was closed due to an accidental breaking of glass from one of the apartments above and must have showered the pool area.

When I get home, I will include a report.

One time, my friend's chica had a friend tag along. Next thing you know, they wouldn't let my chica up. Another time, I had to convince the guard that the other guy and his chica wasn't staying and that they were only coming up for a visit.

MartinHow are the Conquistador buildings? In past there were reports of it being a shithole and not chica friendly.

Also does Torre Centuro 7 condo rent for less than a week?

Also does Torre Centuro 7 condo rent for less than a week?I find the Conquistador to be depressing. Just a big hulk of a building which can be noisy and very busy during certain times of the year. I have stayed at the Torre Centuro about three times and do not like the swimming pool on the roof or some of the local occupants. One woman complained the whole time I was there about doors being closed too loudly while her damned dog bark the whole day while she was gone.

I like Playa Mar and Marinare. Very economical and chica friendly. Although some fear Mirador's guest policy, I had no trouble bring up companions. Of course, I did not bring up two at a time outsie of my wife and a girl we picked up at LDV one night.

I have read all of the reports and I still cannot determine as to whether there are any upscale, really nice, hotels that are chica friendly. I am looking for a hotel in a nice part of Cartagena that allows visitors. I do not want an apartment, only a hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hotel Caribe, Hotel Dann Cartagena, if you insist on a hotel. Upscale, close to action and safe. All Colombian rules of common sense apply.I have a friend who booked a suite at the Santa Clara Sofitel in the old city. He booked the room via time share arrangement so it does not cost him anything. I have been to CTG a few times but stayed at apartments. My friend is a newbie and does not speak Spanish so already at a disadvantage. As I live in SA, I hope to mitigate that situation by joining him and helping my friend navigate CTG and the P4P scene.

My big question is whether this hotel is GF?

Does anyone know?

Does anyone know? This is a top notch hotel. Like everywhere, you may be asked to register your guest. I see rooms from 724, 500 COP plus VAT At this level ask for rose petals!

From my understanding, all major hotels in Colombia are GF, meaning 'guest friendly' and not 'girl friendly'. You can register a visitor of any gender and the process won't be denied. However a parade of nasty junkies won't be tolerated. If experienced a case where a decent guest was denied entry, please post hotel name.

Questner says you can register a girl no problem. But you state that is not possible. Do you have some direct experience with this hotel (Santa Clara)?

Here is a short term love hotel in Bocagrande (you may see SW near or near a casino) :

Hotel El Pueblito, Piso 3, CC El Pueblito, on Avenida San Martin (Carrera 2) , between Calle 4a and Calle 5a, near the Hotel Playa, Bocagrande, about 4 blocks from LDV and 5 minutes 6, 000 peso taxi ride from Old City.

Has anyone stayed in Torres Del Lago, El Laguito? It looks like a decent place. The realtor said that we could bring up guests, just no smoking (we don't smoke anyway). Is it pretty close to Boca Grande, the Beach, and Clubs?

ThanksI have an idea I'd like to suggest; have you considered combining a hotel with the use of a motel? What do I mean? You say above "one night", well why not get yourself a nice hotel and not worry whether it's chica friendly (most aren't) , and then bang the heck out of the chica at one of the great love motels that are available? I can personally recommend Las Dunas for a love motel, and then there's another not too far from it called La Jaiba or something similar. You can find their information in the Cartagena List thread in a post from WorldTravel69.

Cartagena, actually Colombia in general, really isn't geared for a guy to bring back a working girl to his hotel room. I could write a long paragraph or two delving into certain cultural aspects and explaining why that's so, but I'll spare you the time. I'll leave at this: save yourself the potential hassles that may arise and all the upfront legwork; just get a room at a wonderful hotel in the old city (you said price no object) , find your girl and tell the taxi driver to take you to Las Dunas. You'll thank me later.

My friend and I are thinking of buying an apartment as an investment. I see this building busy all the time and looks like mostly local Colombians that stay here. Do gringos stay here too Is it girl friendly? I've read in the past that it as a bit of a hassle but to what extent and has it changed? As long as you sign them in, is it ok?

I also prefer the Marinaire and Playa Mar, but they are a little high for our price. Feel free to PM if you have any tips about investing in an apartment down here.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Wild ThingIf Juan didn't answer your email, there's only one likely reason: he didn't receive it. Did you use his hotmail or excite email account? I do know that a few years back he was having a hiccup with the excite account and suggested I send only to his hotmail account, but I'm fairly sure that issue was resolved. Double-check that you are using the correct emailing address for Juan, and then use the hotmail account. The guy responds to emails like clockwork, regardless of whether he is in town or traveling out of the country on vacation. Now, he's not like some people I know here in the States that feel you're supposed to respond back within 10 minutes, lol, but he has always replied back within 24 hours, which is certainly acceptable for me.

As for Martin, last time I talked to him his beach place was under a long-term lease as well as up for sale; other places up for sale as well. That being said, things could've changed.

Are you sure it isn't Martin you are referring to as not responding to your emails of late?

Thanks!I have visited people there; I have never stayed there, nor even considered it. I guess it if it was the only place available I'd do it, while continuing to look for some place else.

Do gringos stay there? Not often, and not those who are well-acquainted with the situation. Not only does it look like mostly Colombians staying there, it is predominantly Colombians staying there, including those coming in on tour buses. 8 people to a 2 bedroom apartment, etc.

Chica friendly? Has a reputation of not being very receptive to the Gringos bringing in chicas who are working. I had one experience, where a couple of gringos had rented a penthouse apartment, rooftop deck and all. It took every bit of negotiation by myself and one of the chicas (there were 4 guys and 4 girls coming back from LDV for a little party action prior to going to our respective private quarters) , along with 20 mil propina. It was a combination of it being the "penthouse" and that we were just going to look around on the observation deck for a bit before coming back down to leave that finally convinced them that we would be inconspicuous enough given all the Colombian families there. All the being said, my chica friendly information is somewhat dated, but if I had to guess, I'd guess that it's still not very friendly toward gringos bringing back working girls.

There's a justifiably good reason that apartments in Marinare and Playa Mar cost more; you get what you pay for! If you'd like to speak to someone about any tips in buying real estate there in Cartagena, stop in the Marinare building and ask the porter to ring up a gringo named Dubois. He and his wife can provide you with a good deal of information, including info specific to a gringo buying as well as local market information there in Laguito. His wife assists both locals and foreigners with the purchase and sale of apartments in Laguito, and he himself knows the ropes firsthand as it applies to someone from the States.

I'm staying at the Marinare when I return from Medellin, so I'll ask with the porter there. Thanks for the great info Hilltopper.

Update on the El Conquistador as I met an agent on Tuesday. They don't allow guests after 10 pm and all guests must wear a wrist band. Lots of security at the door and elevators. So it might be a nice place to rent if you are a family, but for single guys, take a pass!

But, I thought I read that they have changed their policies about letting in Chicas.

Because it is mainly families living there.

The first quote is from January and was on the first page until yesterday. The second quote is from yesterday. They both provide astute advice to mongers inquiring about hotel chica policies in Cartagena.

1)"Cartagena, actually Colombia in general, really isn't geared for a guy to bring back a working girl to his hotel room."

2)"Colombia is not really a place for staying in hotels."

A guy can have his reason for wanting to stay in a hotel even though he's advised by dozens of guys who have been there dozens of times each that it is much better to rent an apartment or house: he's using company credit card; he's using points; he wants verifiable name of hotel on credit card statement for a wifey at home to see in order to back-up his business trip story, etc, etc.

For those guys, the best advice I can share with you from countless trips to Cartagena and a countless number of conversations there on the ground with fellow mongers and locals alike: if you insist on staying in a hotel, save yourself the trouble and don't worry about chica policy when searching for a hotel and just bang your working girl at one of the very well-appointed, clean and safe Love Motels that are rented by the hour. Where are those? Just consult the information put together in a guide-type post by the poster World Travel 69. The two I can recommend are Las Dunas and La Jaiba, both near the Crespo neighborhood and both the type that are safe, secure, geared toward privacy, affordable, clean, not seedy, etc, etc.

Yes banging working girls is legal in Colombia, but that doesn't mean that the type of hotel you want to stay at in Cartagena desires its guests to bring back working girls to its establishment. They don't and you shouldn't. Do yourself a favor, don't mix a regular, respectable hotel that will meet your 1st-world standards and working girls in Cartagena. Stay in your nice hotel, but take your working girls to the Love Motel. No self-respecting Colombiano with any sense would bring a working girl to a regular, respectable hotel, now why on earth would some foreigner? Cause they don't know any better; now you do.

I stayed in an apartment that is on Parque Bolivar, which is a cool Park. This place is so central it is a shame that I used to stay in Bocagrande in the past. Walking distance to Cafe Del mar, Barbar, Isis, Tu Candela, clock tower, plaza domingo and other centro hot spots.

I paid 125 USD a day for 1 bedroom and one living room with 2 sofas. The owner is super friendly and accommodating. Her sister and daughter speak good english. In case anyone is interested in renting from her, lili.rojas.aristeguieta@gmail.com. The guards are totally cool with the parade of girls. True to description the rooftop terrace has a killer view of all the city's highlights. Smoking weed there and slow dancing there with my girl there was a memorable experience. This is what she sent me.

AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE.

Of course, this apartment located in the best of the Old City of Cartagena, has everything for a comfortable stay.

In addition to its complete basic equipment, wi-fi, cable tv, water heater, well equipped kitchen for those who like to prepare their own meals.

The same can be said of the building: the security of a 24 hour concerge entry, excellent and relaxing pool, the best vantage point of the city and a wonderful setting with park, fountains and historic buildings that surround it.

But it is more difficult to describe the feelings, outside and inside.

Walking down the streets of colonial charm, enjoy their unique magic, feel the Caribbean being of its people.

And then come. Enter the apartment is to enter another world:

Freshness, calm, tranquility and ambience. 'moods'. That invite

Pleasure and relaxation: a bubble of welfare, which seems located in the city center.

No doubt, it will be an unforgettable experience in the Caribbean.

Nice discussion on hotel vs. Apartment options in CTG. However, I have an inquiry. I am arriving in CTG in late June for a week and staying with a friend at a time share apartment at the Bovedas Santa Clara. Apparently, this time share has a connection with the Hotel Santa Clara / Sofitel located in El Centro. For example, one can use the pool at the Santa Clara though it appears that the time share building is in a separate stand alone building but somehow part of the hotel complex.

Does anyone have any experience with this location regarding GF policies? My friend exchanged a timeshare he has in the US for a week here.

This will be my third visit to CTG. One time I stayed in Plaza Madrid at an apartment that has since converted to a boutique hotel with new strict policies regarding visitors. The other time I stayed at the Cartagena India's just around the corner from Pimiento. It was GF and cheap (about $40 USD four years ago) but not very nice or special accommodations.

I have an apartmentin Torremarina 503. It is a 3 bedroom. 2 bath, with queen size beds in 2 bedrooms. Washer / dryer, tvs in all rooms, wi-fi, no chica problems with ID. It is $100 for 1 person. 125 for 2 bedrooms. Contact Mario at 310-3555422 or send me a message. I have it until June so until then it is available.Hi Locogringo.

Me and two of my buddies will be in Cartagena 7/8-7/11 and were looking for a 3 bedroom to rent. You won't by chance still have this place in July and if so is it available these dates?

Thanks bro.

Will be in Cartagena at the end of the month staying at the Dann. Have registered for a 2nd guest to try and avoid a hassle when I bring a companion in. Has anyone stayed their recently and had any problems bringing a visitor in for a tryst.

Thanks.

ThanksHaven't been to high end hotels in Cartagena, but in Medellin some hotels require the second guest to check in the same time as you. Hotels are just a pain in the ass in Colombia. Best to avoid and stick with apartments or if you must, consider a ST motel as a backup plan.

The place he has a 1 bdrm in Laguito is perfect for the solo traveler. All the staff is really cool. Ac and clean and modern. Excelent wifi and in room safe. The place is literally on the beach. 5 min walk to LDV and 10 min walk to Playa Hollywood. It says hot water also but there is no hot water. Which is totally fine since its quite hot there. You will not need it. Believe me I am a chicken shit when it comes to cold showers. I was glad to take showers with cold water due to the weather.

Can anyone share some good or a good budget chica friendly hotel in Cartagena near all the action? I plan my first, a one week trip to Cartagena in the third week of October? What do the experience mongers recommend to stay. I usually don't like to pay more than $50 USA dollars per night and like to be centrally located to bars, restaurant, and close to beach, massage places, casas, etc. Or is it better to stay in one hotel to sleep and use the love motels for the chicas activities? I hope to get some responses and which are the best areas to stay. Is it better to stay in a Hotel in Ell centro, Bocagrande?

I guess you have not been reading the threads.

Nothing is cheap in Cartagena.

Nothing is close to anything.

It sounds like what you want is in the Dominican Republic.

Unfortunately, you would be lucky to find a short term hotel for $50 per night though the Sol why Mar near the Reloj plaza used to offer rooms at this price several years ago. I think I paid some ridiculous price for two hours last July at the same place. As World pointed out, this type of budget price does not exist in CTG. I paid $125 per night for an apartment that was, at least, GF and in El Centro. However, most of the hotels are not GF and cater to families and couples on romantic getaways.

Worldtravel 69,

Thanks for the discouraging and honest advise. I have read as you suggested the other threads to get a better idea of what is out there and found the threads quite useful but most posters don't share a lot of places and bargains and more all about the colombian people don't like you to bring chicas to their Hotels and blah blah blah. However, I am a bargain hunter even in expensive cities like Cartagena and don't give up that easily. I have also been checking on booking.com and surprisingly I saw some pretty good price deals with all tax included near the beach in Bocagrande such as: Hotel Bocagrande $50, Hotel Pueblito playa $48, Hotel Veleros $50, hotel la casa del turista $51, Hotel balcones the bocagrande $49, etc etc. Perhaps those hotels are not chica friendly but still they are pretty good prices. Also, I notice some good deals over $50 in el Centro also at booking.com: Hotel sol del Mar. $61 (someone mentioned this hotel in a post), El claustro Hotel $64, hotel puerta de Cartagenas $71. I don't know any of the noted Hotels, but if anyone been to any of the hotels and can share their good or bad experience, please share it?

From reading the post, I won't break my head in trying to find a cheap chica friendly place in a great location. However, I should be find with finding a place in great location, decent price, clean, and safe place to rest after an active day, and If necessary I can do the love motels or casa visits, massage places, for the other great fun.

As for the Dominican Republic, I was there in July in Sosua and Cabarete towns and found a great Chica friendly aparta hotel in Cabarete for just $30 per night (San Souci apartments) and it was close to all the action and the hotel was a beach front. Lots of Chicas out there in both Sosua and Cabarete, but more in Sosua. I am not looking for the DR now as I want to experience the Colombian beautiful women.

Cerebro just wanted to let you know the Pueblito Playa is girl friendly so much so that one night I asked the man at the front desk if I needed to pay a charge for bringing a girl he just could not stop laughing!

Plus Brian the owner will make you a personnalized breakfast if you're an early bird. He's a British expat who will tell you everything you need to know about Cartagena.

I was going to add that the only downside might be the hotel's location and the fact that its too discrete but that might be a good thing after all.

If this is your first time you might want to not care about a chica-friendly hotel and stay at a normal hotel, and then when wanting to go with a chica just get a short-time hotel for an hour or two. That's what I did the very first time I visited ( 3 weeks ago), and it worked out just fine. I stayed in Centro and could walk down to the Reloj (Clock Tower) at night where there were plenty of women at night. You can find streetwalkers in Centro later in the evening.

But for a lot of other places, such as LDV. You will need to cab it. And it's true that Cartagena is more expensive than other cities like Bogota. To give you an example, you can find the same thing in Bogota. Quality wise for sure (and in many cases even better) for sometimes as less as half the cost in Cartagena.

I have been to DR several times (especially Sosua) and it's very different compared to Cartagena. Both have beaches, but Sosua is walkable. Cartagena is not, certain parts are walkable but much of the action is a bit spread out. And in order to have a good time, you should have a plan and know how to get to a certain place and how you want to do it. You can have a better time that way in my opinion, especially as a first-timer. There are challenges such as being able to speak Spanish. I always wanted to come to Colombia for mongering, but if I had done it early on when I knew very few words in Spanish, I would have struggled badly. It's true when people say that you should at least know basic spanish and conversational spanish in order to have a decent time. Colombian women are beautiful, but you'll have a better time if you have a proper game plan and know some conversational spanish. So my recommendation as a recent first-timer in Cartagena would be to stick to a normal hotel that you can afford, don't worry about chica-friendly for the first time if you plan on just doing short-time for most of your encounters and then take the girl to a short-time hotel. There are quite a few around Cartagena and the chica will likely know of one, if she does not she'll ask a cab driver to take you and her to one, and it will work out. A short-time hotel is very cheap there, and it's safe. You won't worry about anything getting stolen. And do consider the advice of others as far as wanting a bargain for anything. Cartagena is not that type of place. DR is perfect for bargains (on hotel and on action) and having a good time. Bogota is also good for this. Cartagena though, is different and even if you feel you are getting a good deal it will still add up in other areas. Best of luck, and enjoy your experiences!

Like I made clear. I didn't say Aunsa was bad I just felt more comfortable with other company. Just do a search on Aunsa in top right corner. I don't know the guy so I am just saying I didn't feel comfortable.

I wrote a small report based on what I did. I didn't go to Casas or strip clubs. Found plenty of girls in parke poblado and parke lleras (sp) there was really no more to say. You can read these boards for as much as you want. They have helped me immensely.

It's pretty simple. Its a huge city. There's plenty to do. Get on a plane and go see it! I can't hold your hand. .

It must be a new policy. Last year I stayed there and I would go to LDV and the former Paprika every night. I came back with a new chica every night at 4-5 AM and they didn't say a word. This building is practically right in front of LDV correct?

Have a 1 Bedroom apartment available NOW for $45 US Dollars per night.

In Bocogrande, and comes complete with WIFI, cable TV and free local calls.

AVAILABLE NOW. - PM IF INTERESTED.Aunsa is a big scammer and a thieve just as Imissmilleniun previously reported. Aunsa is currently advertising apartments in the Cartagena, Medellin, and Brazil boards. These apartments don't exist. Aunsa is a fraud and is only looking for opportunities to scam and steal your money. I read some post from Imissmilenium, Hilltopper, Tiny12, and Oldparr warning others and me about doing any business with the scammer. For me it was already too late to act on their advise because I made a $70 reservation prior to the warning posts. At least seeing their posts helped me prepared for what was coming. I decided to go through this scam just to find out more about how his scam works and later share the scam experience in this board. This is how Aunsa's scam works. Once you express interest for one of his imaginary apartments, Aunsa PM instructions to pay him a required deposit via Western union. In my case, it was the minimun 3 day stay $70 dollars. I sent him the deposit as requested. It only took him just a few minutes to go to a Western union office to pick up the money because I got an email confirmation from WU that the money was picked up in less than 1/2 hour after I sent it. That was the fastest money pick up I have ever seen. Aunsa is dammed fast to pick up your money, faster than a bullet, faster than a locomotora, is it superman?, faster than speedy Gonzales or faster than the beep beep correcaminos / roadrunner. He will take weeks to reply to an email but boy he knows how to run to the western union office. After he picked up the money, Aunsa then provided me the supposed address of the apartment located in Bocagrande. Then when the day of my arrival came, I took a taxi to help me find the address, but there was no such address. When I tried to contact Aunsa to find out what happened, as expected he disappeared and did not answer the phone, text or email. A few days later, Aunsa email me some lame excuse and apologized. He also said he was going to refund me the money, and this joke is even better, he said he was going to give me $100 dollars extra just for all the trouble, oh yeah of course. He email me a western union number saying that he sent me the money already. Wow now I am no longer a victim and will be making money. What a fucking lier! Like speedy Gonzalez, I decided to go to the western union with the number. There I found that there was no such number. Then again I tried to contact Aunsa and the guy is nowhere to be found.

Hope this post helps others not to fall into any business with Aunsa.

Hey guys,

I read this forum front to back and I still can't figure out accommodations in Cartagena. The first leg of my trip will be in Medellin, then I'll be visiting Cartagena for the first time for a couple days (Saturday, Jan 26th to Monday Jan 28th) before returning back to Medellin. Can you give me any tips on where to stay? I contacted Juan, and he only has the penthouse for those dates, and I am riding solo. On booking.com I have found Apartamentos Torres del Lago and am wondering if that is girl friendly and a good place to stay? I have read mixed things about it on here. One person said it was too lax in security, another said they had issues with bringing girls back. Just trying to get a consensus. I also read that I might want to go the normal hotel then do love motel route. Do you agree? If so, which hotels should I be looking at. I am trying to spend a moderate amount of money a night (meaning I don't want to spend $300+ a night on some room, but I wouldn't be against spending $130-$160 at the right place).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are only going to be there 3 days you will have to stay at a hotel.

It is almost impossible to get an apartment for 3 days. These prices are old, but hopefully close to the price.

I recommend staying at Hotel Playa, Avenida San Martin # 4-87, Bocagrande. Rates: 136 k - 200 k, Pool, across the street from the beach, WiFi downstairs only. Tel: (57) (5) 665 0552,665 0579,665 0593, Fax: (57) 95) 665 0036. E-Mail: reservas@cartagenahotelplaya.com http://www.hotelplayaclubcartagena.com/index.php.

It is three blocks from LDV. You should be able to bring in a chica, if not there is a short time a couple of doors down the block.
Like most Latin countries they may not answer your email. It is best to call if they don't reply.

In fact, all you have to do is tell your taxi driver to take you to Laguito which is where you want to stay, and just stop by all the condominium buildings and ask for a rental. I would start at the building called Torre Centauro or Playa Mar. You will have zero problem in securing a affordable rental for the time you will be in Cartagena. This is coming from someone who knows.

Why would anyone want to come into town and not know where you will be staying?

Carrying your bags from Condo to Condo.

Carrying your bags from Condo to Condo.Have done it many a times in El Rodadero and have done it in Laguito as well. It is not a big deal and there are people standing on the street hustling apartment rentals, and they will carry your bags for you. I am probably more familiar with Cartagena and Laguito than 90 percent of the board so I definitely know what I am speaking about when I say the poster will have no problem finding a rental for 2 or 3 days. Money is money and Colombians are hungry for it. If an apartment is available they will rent it.

Here is another agency the poster can try if Juan or LocoGringo does not have anything available.

I am also not sure if Dave Jones still has his apartments which are directly across the street from LDV as well as in Torre Centauro but it is worth a try.

Hi guys,

So I booked a room at Hampton by Hilton for about $125 a night. Obviously, I cannot take a girl there so was planning to do a love motel. How much does an average love motel cost per hour? I am allowed to cancel my hotel reservation w / no charge as long as it's done 24 hours prior. I found this apt on VRBO http://www.vrbo.com/624483 . The inside looks really nice, but I can tell it is in a older building. The price would basically come out to $323 for those days, so I'd be paying about $75 more to stay there. The owner said guests are allowed and just be discrete. Should I cancel my Hampton reservation and jump on this apartment? Do any of you know anything about this apt or building?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

I've talked to Juan 2 times, and he has nothing, nor does he seem willing to help. Either this is extremely busy season, or because I am only spending 2 nights, I guess it doesn't make him or anyone enough money for them to care. Another guy messaged me back asking for $200 a night for a single room, so the other one isn't even that bad compared to that.

I am still on the fence on what I should do.

WorldTravelor69 - Thanks for your help. I seen that list on short terms, but many don't quote prices. Is it fair to assume that $49 or so is the norm for short term in Boca? If so, I think it will make sense for me to spend the extra $70 bucks and get the apt.

Just wish we here at the board could help you better. So in this case if Juan doesn't have anything avail. I would consider a reg hotel room in laguito or boca grande I guess and if you have a chica during the day or night time there is a place called Mar. Why sol. Its a love motel. Maybe you can do that during the first day. But also if you go to el laguito there is an apt building that is all white. With a lot of stairs in the front almost directly in front of the police station there. If you can find the little police booth look around and the building is really close. Go to the front deskask if any units are avail. If not or if they are unsure as they are all privately owened they will pass you their registration book. It has a list of about 50 apt owners. Take a pic of it with your iphone or smartphone clear enough for you to read it. Go sit somewhere for cofee or beer and start calling one by one. One of them might be able to help you out. Hope all goes well. I will reach out to some of my contacts as well and post anything if I hear something.

I usually rent a 2 bedroom (1002) for $100 a night. She asks for more, but I usually stay for at least 10 days, so she gives me a break. Mirador del Laquito is a building about 8 years old. Building is quiet and a 5 minute walk to LDV. There is a small convenience store and pharmacy close by. The pool is usually quiet and overlooks the small lake looking towards Bocagrande.

A fun thing to do is sit outside around dusk and go fishing. Wait for a nice young lady to walk by, smile and then reel her in.

Enjoy your stay.

Sorry I wasn't able to post this sooner. I just got back from Colombia.

This is a warning about Aunsa aka "Ricky Shah" who claims to have apartments in Medellin and Cartagena. My friend and I needed an apartment in Cartagena for the Summerland festival early this year. Juan was asking double normal rates due to high season. This guy Aunsa claimed to have apartments for slightly below Juan's normal rates. He asked for $80 for a 2 bedroom apartment and wanted a 1 night deposit and a $100 refundable security deposit via Western Union. My friend was skeptical about sending WU to someone he didn't know. They agreed on $120 deposit. Fast forward to the day of rental. We got the apartment building but no apartment number. We had a long layover in Bogota and had a midnight flight. We called Ricky to let him know. He happened to be in Bogota and asked if we would like to meet for drinks. We were in the Santa Fe area and met up at the Calle 22 bus station. Ricky is about 5'11", pudgy, middle aged Arab looking guy with a British accent. He came with this young Colombian kid maybe 20 years old. Ricky tells us that is family is starting an apartment rental business in South America. Anyways, we go to the Santa Fe stripclubs for drinks. Even though, he supposedly made so much money, he never offered to pay a cent. He tells us that he has been a member of ISG for 8 years and that he personally knew Jackson and another mod. We are drinking and then he makes us another pitch. He has another 3 bedroom penthouse in the same building for $120. We talk it down to $100. He asked for another $140 for first night and additional deposit. He said to drop his name and my friend's name and the guard would let us into the apartment. If there was any problems we should call him. So we get to the building around 1 am. Lo and behind. The guard does not know of a Ricky nor are there any rentals in the building! We call Ricky but of course he does not pick up. My friend sends him an angry email. It is the middle of the night and all the hotels are booked due to high season. Some tout on the street pitched us apartments for rent. He gets on his phone and makes some calls. He gets us a 2 bedroom apartment for 400 k. It looked like someone's home who just left it so they could make some money. Seeing as there was no choice we stayed there the night. The tout said he would take us around in the morning to find another apartment. So the next day, Ricky replies to the email and says he doesn't know what happen and to give him 2 hours to sort this out. We ended booking a 1 bedroom (they rolled in another bed into the living room) for 300 k. About 5 hours later, he responds with no explanation. We call him a con and he said he would make it up to us. He offered us a refund of what my friend paid plus $100 for that one night rental so $360 in total. He gives us a WU confirmation code. Of course it was a fake code. More promises to check it out. Eventually he stopped responding to emails. I have a email trail to prove all this. Jackson, I hope you ban this user Aunsa and delete all his posts so other unsuspecting ISG users get sucked as well. If we get a refund, I will report back. I don't have high hopes.

Greetings Everyone,

I have read several forum posts and received additional emails complaining about Aunsa's business practices, including allegations that he has been "renting" apartments that do not exist or that he does not own, and his repeated failures to return rental reservation deposits for said apartments.

Accordingly, I have revoked Aunsa's right to advertise or otherwise promote any apartment rentals or to post any other offers of commerce on the forum.

Please govern yourself accordingly.

Thanks,

Jackson

What's up guys, I'm new here. I'm going to CTG in September for 4 days with a group of friends (5-6 guys total). Flights already booked. Staying Thursday-Sunday.

So I've done some research on this thread. I've read about the last 50 pages or so, and I can't seem to find the answer to my question:

Does anyone have any advice / guidance / connection on a 5-6 bedroom house / apartment that can be rented out?

I have Juan's website and email, and I am going to email him after I'm done here, but his website shows mostly 1-2 bedroom apartments.

I also checked AirBNB and VRBO, but most of these places say they come with a cook and staff, which we don't really need.

Also, I don't know how that works with having chicas coming back to the place and there's staff there.

Any advice you guys can give me would be super helpful.

Thanks

I am making a reservation for two and using my paisa friend name on the reservation.

I should not have any issues?

My paisa lovely will leave the day before I leave and of course, if she leaves any leche, I will likely go to find a lovely chica at LDV. How can I minimize problems at the hotel Dann?

I am importing my chica from Medellin and the Hotel Dann has some great specials so I will be there.

Exchanging money? Safe, ease and good rate? At airport is there any special place? Near hotel, is there any specific place? My visa after fees is exchanging at just under $2900=us $1.

Citibank or other recommended ATM near Hotel Dann?

Sim card purchase at airport or near hotel. Looking for easy more than to save us $2.

Hotel for airport pick-up wants cop $29,000. + tax. Which cab or airport car services are reliable, safe and reasonably priced?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob

I am looking for the same information for this coming July.

I would need a good internet connection.I stayed at the Hotel San Felipe last month. It was $12.00 to take a girl up. The hotel was okay maybe 2.5 or 3 out of 5 stars. Only 3 minute walk from the Clock tower. I also had one session at a hotel with in the Clock tower plaza also. The cost was only $4.00 and it was clean and good enough to take care of business. I will say the San Felipe pictures look a lot better than the actual building and the area can be noisy in the morning but it didn't bother me as my main objective was fulfilled hot chicas!

He also has some other apartment / condos listed on AirBnB and said if you contact his directly the prices could be cheaper than what is listed on AirBnB.

I have a 24 hour layover in cartagena on my way home. I'm looking for a chica friendly hotel for about $100 or less near the airport and the action.

How much is a taxi to the airport?

And while I'm at it, my flight to san andres has a 4 hour layover in CTG. Is there a place near or in the airport to buy a SIM for my unlocked phone? I hear movistar works best in san andres.

Many thanks.

Actually Poseidon is not chica friendly, however with some basic common sense and discretion, you can make it work. Just don't try to come back from LDV at 2 AM with an obvious hooker on each arm.Can anyone confirm if this is Poseiden Caribe or Poseiden Lake Apartments?

Edgar at Playa Hollywood gave me the name of a real estate agent for the Poseiden building "which touches the water" and is evidently by Playa Hollywood. Edgar at least claims it's chica friendly and visitors are allowed after 10 pm.

Thanks. For safety any place in Bocagrande or the old city (centro) which is just north of it. Since you're only staying one night I would just use a love hotel when you get a girl in the old city for an hour or two. They're pretty cheap and clean.

I just looked on AirBnB and found at least 6, well under $1000/ night, in less than 1 minute.Plenty of stuff under $1 k / night, but not many 4 bedroom upgraded homes (condo / apt not an option) that have a pool / hot tub and ALSO allow guests. The several properties that look promising explicitly state no locals, working girls, etc under House Rules.

Hi,

I'm thinking about coming to Cartagena in July after just experiencing Brazil, and think that Colombia could just be a more fun version.

Basically I just want to come to party and also sample the local girls. Are the 5 star hotels such as Sofitel Santa Clara, Tcherassi and maybe The Hilton open to bringing girls back or having visitors? I'm not looking to do anything on the cheap, so would be looking for the higher end type girls in Cartagena.

Any help wold be appreciated, don't want to get to Cartagena after paying for an expensive hotel and find they're not responsive to what I need. The high end hotels I stayed at in Brazil were more than fin, with bringing escorts to the room, escorting them up. They knew what was going on. Just wanted to check, my thinking is that at a hotel like The Sofitel if you're discreet and paying good money for the room then they don't care what you do as long as it's not interrupting the other guests.

You're more likely to have fun in love motels for an hour at a time. Otherwise a lot of condo buildings allow visitors during the day but require registration for overnight stays which they will make a hassle for you.

They basically don't want a loud foreigner playing music all night and partying with working girls.

Have you guys had problems with IVA on your hotel bills? According the Colombian law the tourists are exempt from VAT for their hotel stay, but I have read some reports that some hotels don't know the law or explaining that one gets a refund at the airport etc. In Sofitel Cartagena you have to pay the IVA when making the reservation (prepaid price) and you get your money back when you show the stamp in your passport.

I started asking around on Airbnb and to a couple of apartment renting companies I know down in Bocagrande. Evidently many buildings have changed curfews. Already one of the Palmetto allows guests up to 4 am but documents are still required so a Venezeulana may not be able to enter if her passport stamp is old.

I am triple confirming by contacting the buildings directly to speak to their management. I really wish these businesses would just selectively do this by clamping down on loud music and other shit rather than blanket policies.

Airbnb responses tend to fall on two sides. Either they say it's not an issue and never bother checking with the building (so ask them again!) Or they tell you bringing dates back is forbidden. One guy seemed a little pissed but fuck him.

For this reason I think it's not reliable to ask for recommendations. Things change in the ground quickly.

I ran into this website while looking to book a villa for my upcoming trip. Looks like they have almost the same properties as airbnb but somewhat cheaper. Has anyone used them in the past? Are these places guest friendly? My airbnb search and querying has yielded a few villas / apartments that are guest friendly with some of them mentioning a 10 PM curfew for bringing in chicas.

Thanks in advance.

Looking to book an Airbnb there, down the street from The Hilton. The Monger map says it's guest friendly but not sure how dated that info is. Any advice would be appreciated.

J.Send a message to the host. But be clear to ask not just about the host's policy but the building's policy too. Someone has reported having the host's ok but got stopped by security in the lobby.

I was concerned about having them turned away at the front desk / lobby. Maybe a few $$ would help there?

I'm not worried about the host policy. It would be discreet and quiet around midday.

Not at all looking to host 4 am parties and swinging from the chandeliers.

Do you think booking online escorts is a good option? Or Tinder? I really don't plan to walk around and randomly meet "working girls".

For daytime hookups and I'm not really into the club / disco scene any longer. Thank you so much for the advice so far. Much appreciated. J.

I contacted a host there who said there should be now problem with quiet discrete mid day play. He wrote that during the day the visitor policy is "more relaxed". I'm not sure whether I believe him or not. Of course he wants me to book. Preferably, I order online escort but don't want her to get turned away. Or that would be a disaster.

Sup fellas,

I'm heading to Colombia in June with a friend, 2 nights in Cartagena and 4 nights in Medellin. Info on Chica friendly hotels in Cartagena is sketchy at best, so after considerable research I booked Hotel Torre del Reloj. Here was my logic.

1. The clock tower is said to be ground zero for Chicas, so we wanted to stay close by. This hotel is literally right in front of the clock, with balconies facing it. You could literally stand on your balcony and scout the talent.

2. The roof of the hotel is a bar / club, and I read that many of the best looking hookers hang there. Now I'm not sure if the hotel has an official guest policy or Chica fees, but if you have chicas going in and out of the hotel all night long from the roof bar, how could they keep track of who is going where. We can just grab girls from the bar and walk downstairs to our room.

3. Club Isis and LDV are 2 blocks away.

The hotel is not the cheapest, we paid around US $120 for balcony suites a night, but I figure this is better than staying somewhere cheaper that has high guest fees, or having to get a motel for 1-2 hours at a time.

Anyhow, just thought I would share the info since I didn't see anything posted about this hotel, and if anyone has any previous experience with this place, please comment.

Stay safe.

It's going to be LOUD until 4 am unless you're going Sunday / Monday and there won't be many people out late that night. You can get chica friendly apartments in Bocagrande where its quiet at night and only 5-10 minute ride with a taxi to centro historico.

No idea on whether this hotel is chica friendly. My guess is it won't be but let us know. The regular businesses in the old city do not like hookers anywhere near them which is why most are closed after 10 pm unless its a drinking establishment. After the regular "tourists" go home for the night the chicas come out.

In my opinion you should have done 4 nights Cartagena and only 2 nights in Medellin. Much more to do in Cartagena.

Have fun!

A visit to their website clearly states, "Only registered guests are allowed in the guest rooms."

Any experience with Juan's apartment located in Marinaire Building? He is offering units 1204 and 1004.

I liked 1004 pictures.

Well I should have put it other way, has anyone tried this apartment! Apologies. No worries, we all here to help each other.

It's a tough situation. Sometimes the building has rules and the renter says they don't.

Sometimes the building has rules and the renter has more rules.

Dealing with Juan, you know there won't be any problems. He has properties in El Laquito.

Most properties in this district are very relaxed about guests.

BocaGrande is hit or miss, mostly have rules like up to till 10 pm or no over nights.

The centro area only has a few guest friendly places besides the short time hotels.

Some of these Airbnb apartments look really stunning.

Hi folks,

Looking to rent an apartment for when I go to Cartagena but Juan doesn't have anything suitable available for the dates I am going. I contacted Mery Salence but didn't even get as much as a reply (hopefully I had the right email address) so I am a bit stuck now for finding somewhere that is chica friendly.

I have seen plenty airbnb places but I don't want to book something on the chance that I can't bring girls back. I have looked through here but not 100% sure where is girl friendly, does anyone have any recommendations or either apartments / hotel that allows guests?

Even if someone wants to get in touch via PM if you don't want to say on the forum I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions anyone can provide.

Going to be in CTG for a few days the first week of December. My SO wants me to stay in a hotel as it is my first time in Colombia so an apt is not an option. Are there any in the walled city that are an option for mongering? I have emailed several and gotten no response.

Thanks.

If you are going from CTG to MDE this is a good option.

With jacuzzi, a balcony with a view that's also chica friendly.

Greetings everyone,

I have received comments that this report is possibly inappropriate and/or in violation of the Forum's Policies.

Please be advised that an established forum member posting a link to the website of an apartment that he has rented is certainly acceptable, especially in a thread titled "Cartagena Apartments".

Hi,

I'm planning to be in Cartegena and would like to find a girl-friendly apartment in the centro area near the clock tower, but it seems that such a place is rare. Can anyone share their experiences with the short time hotels that the girls would take you to. My main concern is safety.

Thanks.

Had my first trip about 3 weeks ago and it didn't go so well. My Airbnb was a straight asshole and while it was a very nice upscale Hi-rise, he kinda left out the part about it only being a 1 bedroom that you shared inside his condo apt. So please question the hell out of the Airbnb's there. In hindsight I would direct my efforts at a girl-friendly apt or hotel anywhere just as long as I can get my women in.

OK, given its hard to see the true situation from the web, with building rules, renter rules, and what is actually happening on the ground it seems to be a better plan to get a hotel for one night or so, and scout out the buildings and see if there is a somewhere for rent that meets the criteria: girl friendly, safe, amenable security, close to good areas, laguito, bocagrande, old town, clean and air conditioned.

On the net the big names have plenty of availability, but the rules and regulations could be tricky. Years ago (2006) when I last visited the security were very open to visitors, small gifts, and helpful for me. But I think its changed a bit over the years.

The big names on the net are edificio's nuevo conquistador, Palmetto, even Torres del Lago and Marinare.

There's a lack of certainty, ie the renter of the Marinare apartment may have different rules to other renters in that building thats pushing me to get a hotel for a night or two just so i know what i'm renting for the rest of the week.

Any thoughts on a guest friendly 1 or 2 day hotel in the tourist areas to kick off the vacation? Something that will let me have a guest for a short period???

"Entire Condominium".

"Entire Apartment".

"Entire Loft".

Or.

"Private Room".

If you rented something from Airbnb that stated "Entire. " and it was only a room in reality, you have a great case for a refund and / or action against the host.

This apartment has been spoken about on the forum already but I wanted to put it on a more recent report. I'm here now and the apartment was just right. The building is name mirador del laguito, I found this apartment on Airbnb, chica friendly they just ask for her ID and put her name in a book of some kind, view of Tierra bomba island, money exchange across the street, cabs always available, easy walk to playa Hollywood. As for the apartment, super modern, 2 bed rooms, big screen TVs in every room.

Full kitchen, pots, pans, plates everything you need. Washer and dryer. I won't name the host why'all got to work like I did to find it also I don't want too many of why'all fools coming ruining it LOL.

Can anyone recommend short time hotel / motel or budget spots that can be used just for smashing? I'm thinking about staying in a place that isn't chica friendly, but having back up smash spots if I go that route.

BTW, I stayed at one of Juan's spots many years ago and it was very nice.

Hello,

I will be in Cartagena December 20-27. I booked a double room at Hotel Torre del Reloj Carrera 7 and. 32-77, right across from clock tower. Does anyone have any experience in this hotel? Is there a chica fee? Someone here wrote that the hotel has a rooftop bar with pretty nice looking WGs who you can take to your room directly. So I am hopeful.

If anyone wants to hang out while I am there shoot me a PM. This is my second time in Colombia.

Cheers.

Cheers.Well, I went back and searched for this hotel. Sounds like nightmare. Bad looking hookers in the rooftop bar, noisy, the street outside full of touts and beggars, etc. I also understand the bar at this hotel is a big pick up joint. So lot of traffic, I imagine,. Is this true? Is it as bad as it sounds. The reservation is non refundable. So I may be screwed. But since this is my vacation, I will do my best to enjoy! Take it all in stride.

Question from your experience: 1 night at higher end hotel on double occupancy when the companion shows up later and may be asked to register. Will she be refused entry? Will some extra fee will be charged? Will the hotel charge me full 19% IVA if she is a Colombian? If she is not Colombian but has been longer time in the country?

I've stayed at this chain before in other cities, never had any issues. Guests always register / flash ID at lobby, then head-up. Anyone have experience with the one by the clock tower in Cartagena?

Having spent about 2 days scouring hotels, links on this forum, airbnb, vrbo, and many more options, I am finding that your best option to find guest friendly and value oriented accommodations in Cartagena and by far is Airbnb. You simply have to be bold and ask them, yes be direct, " I or We are possibly interested in renting your unit. Is your unit guest friendly"? Then I say " we are responsible professionals and will take good care of your unit. " Some managers responded " no this unit does not allow guests" or they said no escorts are allowed. But, they were not offended or rude. After all, this is Cartagena and Colombia where prostitution is legal and a way of life for many women.

I found out that about 25-33% of the units were guest friendly. Your best bet is to look in the Walled City area / Centro. Bocagrande is not guest friendly and Laguito is too far.

SB.They are out their stud you just have to do a little footwork, and then have private message and be a member of the board, not going to put in all the work and a one poster comes on and first question is where do I stay, and oh I have no pm, it's takes a bit of time but well worth it when you find o couple nice places to stay with no jam ups, it makes the whole experience way better! Stay safe guys!

So this hotel is guest friendly in Cartagena.Yes. You may be asked to sign upon a waiver not to register the visitor as a guest. Separately from this topic, a reminder that with a registered regular local you may be charged an IVA.

Dublin12 posted this in Cartagena Reports.

I had a couple of options available on Airbnb for an upcoming trip which I've since postponed. Both are in Getsemenai.

You will need to write to the hosts for confirmation, but make sure that they are aware that you will not be having wild parties, accept full responsibility for your guests, and that you will be bringing different girls with you.

I am headed to Cartagena in September. A lady from Barranquilla that I met earlier this year in Miami is meeting me there and staying with me the entire stay. Will I get issues from any hotels if we check in together?

Thanks in advance!

FLBill. You need to check in together as a couple unless it is an visitor friendly hotel. Make sure the girl does wear respectable clothes and not too much make up looking like a prostitute. If you both go out and come back together nobody will stop you. If the girl goes shopping alone and comes back she maybe stopped at which time she needs to say she is registered with you. They will check I am sure.

Dress like a prostitute? The fuck does that mean?

All the girls in Colombia dress sexy. You she doesn't look like a street walker from Santa Fe, half naked with high heels 😆?

I found a airbnb in Bocagrande that charges over 200 a night. All of the other places said no guests without registration. They claim to allow guests as long as they have an ID.

Is having ID going to be a problem for the girls?
