I left the Sheraton Hotel for another hotel yesterday afternoon(abruptly).

I moved to the Plaza Rosa Hotel, and I wish I had done it sooner.
I asked to have one of the back rooms on the top floor. It's quiet and has a great view across the valley and elsewhere. The room is pretty big. The cost for two nights at the Plaza Rosa (Thursday and Friday) will be about US$52 per night. This is an average for the cheaper Friday, Saturday and Sunday night rate. This place has been mentioned for cheaper by other posters. If I had taken a longer-term (for about 11 nights-even) stay, the price would have been a little less. It's a five minute walk to Parque Lleras. It's not a big, international-feel hotel, but it is nice enough that a lot of the quests are businesspeople.

The information is:

Plaza Rosa Hotel
Carrera 32D
No. 9-17
Zona Rosa
El Poblado
Medellin
Colombia
Phone: (574) 312 00 05
FAX: (574) 266 52 52
info@plazarosa.com
www.plazarosa.com

I'll be staying at another hotel next to Oviedo Mall in about a week, after I return from Cartagena. It's at the top of the hill from the Sheraton. I don't have the information with me, but I have looked at the rooms and I think itīs a very nice place. I'll give my comments after I stay there.

I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend the Sheraton. I know some people that I really don't like, and if they said they were travelling to Medellin, I would give them a strong recommendation for the Sheraton.

Service is great, bed is SO comfortable and location cannot be beat. Curious why you moved abruptly Jak.

Hi Surfer,

It's a long story, but I probably shouldnīt make a negative comment without backing it up with something - itīs only fair.

The staff and facilities are pretty good, and it was a rather nice two weeks. The problem has to do with a long process of a misunderstanding with the rates. I made my initial reservation in the States many weeks before I left. I made it for three nights - see what I thought and decide from there. I used the sherwood.com? site (the reservation site for all of their hotels and affiliates in the world). I was quoted a $71 weekday rate, and a $65 weekend rate. It was clearly stated on the reservation - no taxes or anything else. Just this price, and I could pay it in U.S. currency. The lady at reservations confirmed this on a second call before I left the U.S., saying, "Itīs a U.S. company, there wonīt be problem."

So, I have about twenty U.S. $100 bills with me when I leave for Colombia. Iīve used credit cards to pay for some hotels in the past, but as you are probably aware, they like to hit you with a 3% charge and the exchange rate isnīt favorable in my experience. For example, I stayed at a hotel in Buenos Aires a year ago, and what I thought was going to be a $900 bill, actually ended up being about $1,000. After I was at the hotel, I decided it was okay for the price and the purpose of my visit. I was told that if I stayed on for several weeks, I could have the same prices as my reservation. On the third day or so (I guess my future stay wasnīt in the computer yet), there was a bill under my door one morning. It was in pesos with taxes added and some security fee and some charge for their overpriced food or drink thatīs in the room. I went down and talked at the front desk to Eliana (very nice, by the way - as is Carolina -- if I had left under positive conditions, I intended to personally tip them and put in a good word for them on my e-mail response to how did my stay go from the company). She said she would talk to the manager and let me know later that day. She later said all of those things would be taken off the bill and that everything would be okay. I confirmed with her now for about the third time or so that all I had to pay was the dollar amount on my reservation and all would be fine. At the end of my first week, I get another bill under my door - the taxes and other stuff are still on the bill. I go down again (the manager is never there, or on lunch, or in Bogota - and again Iīm told, "Donīt worry Mr. ........, everything will be taken care of at check-out." Yes, I just pay the dollar amount that is on my initial reservation. But, the "manager" (whoever that is) says I need to pay half now. Well, they have a copy of my credit card, and I feel like Iīm being treated as some sort of a potential deadbeat with this kind of treatment, but I bring down $600 and figure "everything will be okay, Mr. ....., it will be okay at check-out." Even one of the bell-guys I had befriended (when he found out I had inquired at another hotel where his brother had worked) said the hotel will want to make me happy - there will be no problems at check-out.

So, without making this story any longer, I asked to pay my balance a few days before my planned check-out. There were problems. All of a sudden, yes- you can pay with dollars, but we only give 2,000 pesos per dollar credit.
This was my only question from the beginning. Naturally, a conversation ensued, and the manager was not available. Some might say, sure, this is always or often the case. But, I usually use apartments, or the hotels I have used have made this issue very clear. I believe I was clearly led to believe from the beginning that the price was the price in dollars I was quoted. I had this "clearly" confirmed at least a dozen times. Yes, call it a big misunderstanding or something, but the bottom line is, I felt screwed. I felt cheated out of two more nights, and I wasnīt going to stay there and give them any more of my money. The money I thought was agreed upon, actually paid through to that afternoon I checked out.

Iīm sure there will be a lot of varied reactions to this situation, but the money issue was at the bottom of the list. I felt "the hotel" or their system should have made me aware of their perspective somewhere along the way - because I was routinely seeking clarity. I admit to having a problem with people trying to run games on me or screw with me, and even though I believe in my heart that this wasnīt an intentional screwover, I believe this shouldnīt have happened and would maybe best be categorized as gross negligence on their part.

So, itīs a long story, as I said (and could be longer), but I feel I owe some explanation if Iīm going to put out a negative comment on them.

And the management - I never saw a manager in two weeks. Is there really one at the hotel?

Paola was the first chica I had on my first day in Medellin. I initially said she was hot, but a dud. Well, sheīs still hot, and sheīs still not a porno star, but the missing ingredient I didnīt have - sheīs shy! Actually, she had only been working at Energy for one week when I first met her. She hadnīt worked in the business before this, so she is/was green. She is so hot - IMHO, that I had to try her again. As a matter of fact (and itīs embarrassing to admit to any serious mongerers), I actually visited her four times in my last four days. Every day she warmed up more and more - just a sweet little thing. DFK on the last two days.

The thought of any of you mongers putting your grubby little hands on my little angel makes me want to vomit - but hey, the brotherhood always comes first. So, stop in for a visit at Energy, and if you think she is as hot as I do, screw her brains out - but please, do it gently.

They call it Seguro or insurance. When you check out, ask them what the insurance is for. No one knows. Once I was told it was for damage to my room. I told them that was what the deposit was for. They all want to nickle and dime you with hope that you will not protest.

Have had Dann Carlton, Intercontinental and a 5 star hotel in San Andres remove the junk charges.

Dann Carlton offered a coupon for the first night and when we tried to use it they gave alot of grief. Avoid this place.

I recommend staying at an apartment building in El Poblado called La Provincia for 80,000 pesos a night. no add ons. Cra. 30a No. 9-45 is address. Phone is 312-2773 or 314-1435. Girl friendly, no charge for telephone calls from your room and no seguro.

Considering a trip to MDE. Thanks for many helpful posts.

Is it possible to rent a cell phone or purchase a prepaid sim cards? Are there any phone cards you can buy like here in the US?

Balashi

you can buy a cell phone in Colombia for less than $40 now ... use pre-paid cards you can buy at pharmacies, stores, etc.

in-coming calls are free ...

Tom 33

Actually the cell phone may be free. I got a deal from ComCel in April where I got a phone for 80K pesos(~US$34) that included 100K pesos worth of minutes.

As always, everything except getting laid is difficult in Colombia. You need two passport-size photos and you may or may not need a Colombian cedula. Bell South(now Movistar) needed a copy of my cedula AND of the cedula of the chica who came to the store with me to buy the phone. I went with a couple of buddies to get a cell for them at ComCel and their US passport was good enough. Of course the two photos that I printed out on my printer were not good enough. We had to go to a photo store.

Ricker

Yep ... I went to Comcel ... needed 2 fotos ... passport type ... and a copy of my passport ...

Easy really ... cost about 80,000 pesos.

Thanks for the replies.

How do you call US from Colombia? Average cost per minute?

Thanks again,

If there is someone that you will spend some time talking with back in the US, buy them a prepaid phone card. Most of the cheapies I have tried had problems. I now use one that costs around US$.08 per minute. I call the US on my cell. Then they call me back with the phone card.

If you are looking for ways to call colombia for the cheapest rate, check out www.uniontelecard.com, I use the Mega Clean and Stable card, there are others that have great rates, many without fees etc. If you are looking for a callback service, check out www.gphone.com, its reliable whenever I used it and the best thing is they bill in 6second increments, but either way you put it short of havng a VOIP box while in Colombia it will be cheaper to call from the US to Colombia and not Colombia to the US. Hope this helps.

Jak:

All credit cards have started adding a "foreign transaction surcharge". This surcharge varies but most cards including AMEX add 3%. This charge is in addition to what Visa and MasterCard add.

To clarify, Visa/MasterCard add a foreign surcharge which is typically 1%. If you have a Citibank credit card, Citi adds a 3% surcharge. So if you bought something worth $100, you end up paying $104.

I have stopped using credit cards when I travel outside the US. This "foreign transaction charge" is another way these Banks have started gouging consumers. I urge all of you to either use ATM cards or carry cash to cover the major expenses. Think twice before you whip out your credit card, the 3% adds up pretty quick.

I visited Energy. There were a total of 7 girls including Paola. They also had a black girl from the coastal area.

I did not like Paola or any of the other girls. Paola is very simple looking - a perfect plain Jane if you will. Thanks for the recommendation. As you know, its different strokes for different folks.

BKK,

You are right, in a big way, how one man's beauty is another's dog. I used to love going to the nightclubs with friends and ranking the chicks and picking the hottest ones in the place. We were always miles apart, and it seemed more like a coincidence when we shared an opinion. This is why I try not to make statements about beauty, but just try to focus on what the girl was willing to do for me - and hopefully, if you like her, she will give you the same experience - but, YMMV, of course. There is, I believe, some objective standards for beauty in the Western world, but it's a tough go there, too. Whenever I've watched a beauty pageant, there are always a lot of ladies that I say to myself, "what the hell is she doing in there".

I remember a lengthy discussion a while back on one of these threads about the 1-10 ranking system. It was generally agreed that it was largely a waste, except to try to explain your attraction for a chick to someone else. Your reaction to Paola is a good reminder to keep the focus of reports on descriptions of the places and the performances, along with the prices - just the facts, man. Mentioning a chica you liked should be just a passing remark.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience at Energy, but I'm returning to Medellin tonight and will spend one day tomorrow before flying out. I plan to spend several hours with my plain Jane/ beauty Paola.

Iīm in the middle of a two night stay at the Hotel Porton Medellin. I checked it out a few weeks ago, and I thought the location, quality and price seemed very good. Itīs about a three minute walk to the front of the Oviedo Mall. I got the weekend rate for both nights of 230,000 pesos (Divide by 2 = 115,000 pesos, or about US$50 per night). This is with a decent buffet breakfast. The halls are carpeted and the rooms have wood floors. It has a more polished and higher-end feel than the Plaza Rosa. It also has a pretty sturdy in-room safe - the Plaza Rosa didnīt have an in-room safe. I would recommend it at this price. The only problem with the price is that itīs a special "vacation time " price. Good in the end of June and for ? - Iīm not sure. She said it was also available in December during vacation time.

She gave me the normal rates:

185,000 pesos on weekdays (Monday - Thursday) + 2,000 pesos for breakfast ( I swear some of these hotels make this shit up as they go along)
135,000 pesos on weekends ( pretty sure this includes Sunday night)

She assured me these prices included everything - taxes, walking fees, breathing charges, etc.

Medellin - Colombia

Some other comments on my previous Hotel Plaza Rosa post - the one that is a five minute walk to Parque Lleras. There is currently some renovation work going on in the lobby area. It didnīt bother in room #816 (Iīm pretty sure this was the number). Being in the back on the 8th floor is pretty far away from any of the noise. But two comments on the noise in this hotel. The hallways and rooms have tile floorings, so there can/is an amplification of noise sometimes - but nothing really that bad. On weekend nights, there is a place next door that has live music. Itīs pretty loud until 2:00 in the morning? Itīs not a problem if youīre out playing on the weekend nights, but I had to get up early for a flight the next morning. Fortunately, I always carry earplugs in my travel essentials bag, so I didnīt have a problem.
Thought these were some experiences worth mentioning.

This place sounds pretty nice but is there an additional visitor's fee? I plan on staying here if the Medellin Mansion thing doesn't work out.

Ngp477 mentioned this place in his 7/3 post. I took a taxi Saturday afternoon to investigate. It's about a half mile, probably less, further up the hill from Plaza Rosa on the road that goes to the left of the big mall. It's kind of a more quiet neighborhood feel with many apartment buildings around.

The taxi pulled a right turn into a small area that had a common area for about four apartment buildings. It generally had a nice feel to it. The guard at the front window (inside the apartment building) opened the gated door by remote control (it's about 20 meters in front of the builing). He was staring at me curiously as I walked up, like - who the hell is this guy. I asked if there were apartments for rent on a short-term basis, and if there was a manager on the premises. He made a call, and then he walked me to the back of the hallway and to the left. Here was an office with three ladies at their desks. The first lady I talked to was Nury Giraldo A. She told me I was correct, and the whole nine story apartment building is for short-term lease. I showed her the paper I had with the price that Ngp477 had mentioned with some of the notes. She spoke in English at one point as I stumbled with some Spanish. I'm sure she saw the "girl-friendly" on my list. She gave me several more cards when I asked for a few more, smiling and saying "for your friends". She seemed like a really nice lady, as did the lady that showed me three of their apartments. The one on the bottom floor has a huge balcony. The other rooms have balconies, but they are small (no table and chairs - just enough room for a couple people to stand). The place is not plush, but it is very nice. It has cable TV. You buy a phone card for the phone (can call international, too.). There is a small mall across the street with a medium size supermarket - it's quite nice, and it even has a little wine section. There's a pizzeria and a decent sized travel agency in the mall area. I grabbed a taxi that was sitting in front of the mall when I was ready to go, but taxis shouldn't be a problem in this area. The downhill walk to the Parque Lleras area would be about ten to fifteen minutes. It's a steep hill, so I would imagine it's a bit more time and excercise for many going back up.

Here's the contact information:

She underlined her cellular number, and I think her English is pretty good (not sure, since I kept speaking with her in Spanish - but I'd bet if you spoke slow, there wouldn't be a problem). Her name is Nury Giraldo A. on her business card.

The important rate information:

1 day - 90,000 pesos (US$39)
15 days - 1,150,000 pesos (US$33 per night)
30 days - 1,850,000 pesos (US$27 per night)

I think I'll give it a try on my next visit.

Hi Rob Hay,

I didn't ask about that since I didn't have or intend to have any vivitors in my short stay. But I didn't have any problems with the check-out early this morning when I left - they even gave me a 400 pesos (17 cents) refund for some reason. :)

Dear Jack,

Your contribution for the appartments looks very interesting.

I am planning to visis Medellin (not sure when). My question to anybody knowing this place is :

Can you get an appartement with 2 - 3 bedrooms. As I intend to visit with some friends. And I believe it is quiet convenient to share an appartement for the whole stay (but not the bedroom) :)

Ngp477
07-17-05, 20:19
Jak visited and posted about the apartments.

I have stayed there 3 times. It is girlfriend friendly and has a Carullas across the street and shopping mall Viscaya with movie theatres down the hill. El Poblado is the nicest part of the city and it is close to the expensive sex hall, famous, but gorgous Loutron.

I do not know if they have 2 or 3 bedroom apartments. When I stayed there with another mongerer we used separate apartments because they were cheap but very nice with balcony views and breakfast included except on Sundays. The bathrooms are small and the toilets hard to maneuver around. It was built for Colombians.

No harm intended, but it is cheaper than staying at the Medellin Mansion or other hotels. No pool or exercise room other than your bed.

I bought my cell on the net for $20 and took it to Cali - ComCell and bought a simm card which came with something like 200 mins. the simm card and mins. cost somewhere around 30-40,000 pesos I can't remember exactly.

I recharge my minutes everytime I need or when I return to Colombia.

Important: the cell phone must be a two or three band GSM type phone. My buddy actually bought the phone for me on e bay. it is a nokia 3595. The thing I like best about it is the display has large letters and numbers and the volume is higher than most other phones I've experienced.

When I buy a card almost anywhere in colombia, I get a 20 or 50,000 peso card and depending on how long I stay and how many calls I make it lasts me a week to 10 days.

I don't know the cost per minute, but it's worth it for the convience of having a cell phone there. It can also be used it the US with Cingular or anyother service that provides GSM service.

You can pay by credit card in EXITO pre-paid phone cards for all networks.
You can get miles with your AMEX :-)
From 10 to 50K. minutes cost less with 50 than with 10.
Also it s cheaper to call the same network that you use.

I had a nice long weekend in Medellin after a long work week in Bogota. Medellin is a nice little city but a little bit overrated compared to my current spot Caracas. No shortage of cute young girls but lack the superstars of Caracas. But the girls are alot friendlier and easier to hook up with for sure!!! The top talent in both cities are pretty comparable but the problem lies in that the models, actresses, and tv personality in Medellin ALL tend to be kept women of the mafioso. But those that know me know that i am not one to be detered and alway strive for the best.......looking for the diamond in the rough just isnt my thing.

I did hook up with the hottest chica i've ever had in Colombia. She too short to be a runway girl but does print work in the city. She not a well know but is a published model. Shes sent me email of some of her pics before she had a nose job, boob and ass implants done 2 months ago paid for by her mafiso boyfriend.....and i am comtemplating posting them because she is so stunning its amazing. Medellin is a great city that i would love to visit again without a contract on my head, so it is with that in mind that has me hesitating.

I did save them to Aussie Gregs computer,i think, at the Mansion so you prob. will be able to view them there if nothing else. I did not stay at the Mansion nor the Penthouse but Aussie Greg went out of his way to help me and some brit i met at the hotel on my stay there and he refuse to take my money. He just really enjoys taking guys out and showing them a good time, which he definately showed me at Mangos. THE HOTTEST girl there(6 foot model type, dead ringer for GOOGLE: RAICA OLIVERA,) I wanted to talk to but she was with 2 guys, 1 of which i swore was her boyfriend. But that did not stop this Loco Aussie from getting another girl to slip her his number. I made him promise to pass to me his sloppy seconds.

But i would encourage everybody who get a chance to stay at the Mansion which looks great but is even going to be better onces its finished construction. You'll have a great time there

i was in medellin in mid june 2005. here's my report. pictures from this report are in the photo gallery.

day 1: june 15

flew in from quito, ecuador, where i was visiting galapagos. a short flight on avianca ($280 bought on travelocity) with a connecting flight in bogota. customs and immigration in bogota were a breeze. in fact, they were so uneventful, i barely remember going through them. made the connection no problem. arrived in medellin around 2:30 pm.

i had previously arranged for an airport pick up through aussie greg of the penthouse/mansion fame. he said he will send a woman to pick me up. my spanish is limited and this was my first time in colombia.. so i played it safe and arranged for a pickup. the airport is way out of the city - about 45 kms. you will see why this is once you get to medellin. it is a city surrounded by high mountains and the city is in a large valley.. but too small for large planes to take off and land safely. picked up my suitcase and was about to exit when a customs agent wanted to check my suitcase (weird.. they'd do this for a domestic flight. but i guess there is a drug problem here). anyway... when she asked me a question, i told her i did not speak spanish at which point she waved me off. came out and nathalie was waiting for me with a sign. nathalie works for robert and greg and is like a secretary. she is in her early twenties and goes to college as well in medellin. the charge for the airport pick up was 60,000 pesos (when i was in medellin, the peso was about 2200 to the dollar). i think a regular taxi is about 30,000 pesos or so.. but then i did not know the address of where i was going.

anyway.. we drove toward medellin in the taxi and arrived at the penthouse about 45 mins later. i had originally booked a room at the mansion through greg. however, because of some mix up, i was taken to the penthouse. nathalie said i could either stay at the penthouse or i can move to the mansion later that day if i wanted. i looked around the penthouse and i decided to stay (see pics in the gallery). greg e-mailed me last week that the penthouse is not longer in existence which is a real shame (robert used to rent this place).

the penthouse is a huge, two-story apartment on the 10th floor of a building. it has about 7 bedrooms which robert used to rent out to people. my rate was $65 per night but some of the smaller bedrooms cost $55. the rate includes breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wish, beer, high-speed internet, phone calls to usa and canada, and maid service. in addition, robert will usually take you to the various night spots. i believe the mansion also includes all of the above but better check with greg. the manison is a 15 min walk from the penthouse and both places are just a short distance from a main road. if you are going to colombia for the first time, i highly recommend using their services - they may be bit higher than hotels, but hotels don't give free food and beer, and free phone calls.

when i arrived, there were 3 other americans living in the penthouse. after settling in, i waited for robert to show up from work (he runs the colombian love connection website). he came home around five pm. we sat and talked for a while. robert suggested we go to the famous loutron first (it is literally a 5 min walk from the penthouse). this place just upped its price to 120k for 1 hr. the girls were nice but the selection was slim. robert suggested we go to this bordello called miel y canela (honey and cinnamon, car 65, 32a-43; phone 235 34 36; open 10 am to 10 pm m-sa). one of his friends owns it and robert might have a stake in it too.. not sure. in any case, i, robert, and another american guy went to this place by taxi (20 min ride from the penthouse). robert speaks fluent spanish as he is from puerto rico. the place has a room with couches and a bar. there are several bedrooms upstairs. there is no sign up front.. must know the address. we sat down and ordered some beers. there were about 7-8 girls ranging from 5-7 on a subjective scale. my buddy picked alexandra - an 18 yo (she is in one of the pics with valeria). i picked carolina - a 20 yo spinner with one baby. she has a nice body and a sweet face. had a decent session and came back down. robert was waiting. by this time, greg also showed up. we all sat and talked for a while after which robert called his gf who just turned 18. she came over and sat with us at the brothel. this place is one of the few places i went to where almost all the girls do bbbj. in places like loutron and energy (see below) everything is covered. after a few more beers, went to an italian place for dinner. really great food.

robert understandably wanted to go home with his gf. greg then took me to club san diego. this is a strip joint which has rooms at the back. it is close to san diego mall (across the street actually). there are usually 20+ girls in here ranging in age from 18 to 20++. most but not all girls dance completely naked - gives you a chance to check them out before taking them. the price in house is 70,000 pesos. you can take out the girls also.. i think the bar fine is 40,000 and then the girls expect 70-100k for short time of few hours. the staff knows greg and robert very well and they and their guests get treated very well. i and greg ordered some drinks and just hung out. i was not looking for a pick up since i just had a session. a really thin chick latched on to greg. he negotiated 40k for a few hours with her and we left around 1 am.

day 2: june 16

got up late and had a nice breakfast. this is made to order by the maid. took a shower and relaxed for a while. one of the best places in town is a massage place called energy. great selection of girls (all 18 to early 20s) and 65,000 pesos per hour. robert took me and the 2 other american guys to energy. we all chose a girl (mine was named sasha - really hot 18 year old with the sweetest little p*ssy and a killer body; very nice personality). had a really great session (mostly enjoying the beautiful body; she was ok in bed.. but not great. inexperience i suppose. plus bj was covered and i am big fan of bbbjs). everyone finished and we left back to the penthouse to have a few (free) beers and relax. we went to back to san diego at night but i did not partake.

day 3: june 17

another lazy day. there is a lady named olga (about 42, blonde with fake tits and super toned body) who regularly gives massages to guys at the penthouse. robert knows her very well. for a little extra, she gives bbbj (and or fs, as i found out later) as well. her skills in bbbj are supposed to be legendary. so, in the afternoon, i opted for a massage and bj from olga. she arrived on time and we retreated to the bedroom. she took a shower as she just came from an aerobics workout. she gave a very nice oil massage (will meet thai standards!) for about 40 minutes. the she started the bj. man, that was just fantastic! she was very skilled and the feeling was just amazing. she did the bj tc and spit it out. she disrobes while massaging and one could play with that great body. this was the first time i have been with a girl with silicone tits. i can't say i was impressed - they look really nice but they were kinda hard for my taste.

today was robert's gf's 18th birthday. so he arranged a little surprise party for her by the penthouse pool. lot of high school friends and her (cute) sisters and parents showed up as well. everyone had a good time. robert couldn't wait for them to leave so we could go out to san diego. i vaguely remember going out.. but my list does not say i took a girl that night.

day 4: june 18

in afternoon, i and one of the american guys decided to try out another casa whose name i can't remember. the girls available were not to our taste so we decided to go to miel y canela again. i chose a girl named sara who was really cute. she was really great in bed and i had a very nice session. my friend took l (see pics). after we were done, i got l's phone number so i could call her for a session on sunday (when nothing in medellin seems to be open except for a casa called new life calle 56, no. 43-39 tel: 216 27 04). in the evening we went to san diego. hung around for a while and i saw this beautiful black girl called emelia, i think. she was 19, tall, big tits, beautiful face and nice legs. i decided to take to the back room for 70,000 pesos. had a great session.. she gave nice cbj and followed by different positions including rc. while we were in the bar, my buddy as checking out the street action (lot of it near san diego). some nice looking ones too. street action in medellin is different in that in most places, street girls are on the low end. but here, it's possible to find some real gems real cheap (20k pesos or so). a few other people from the penthouse joined us and we hung out until closing time. the 2 guys from the penthouse brought back a couple of girls from san diego and believe they paid the girls 100k each; seems a little excessive to me for short time). anyway, i wanted to get a good night's sleep.

day 5: june 19

this was a sunday. nothing open. my buddy from the us was leaving this afternoon. he wanted one for the road - so he ended up going to new life. he siad he had an ok session (not sure what the price is here; around 60k i think). around 11 am, i had robert call l from miel y canela (see pics). she wanted 70k to which i agreed. she siad she'd be there in an hour. but she still was not there at 3 pm. i was getting frustrated because if i knew she was not coming, i would have gone to new life. i tried calling her cell several times, but it was off. finally... at 3:20 pm she answers the phone and says she'll be at the penthouse in 10 mins. whatever. she does in fact show up at 10 mins later. what a stunner! great big boobs.. nice body.. no kids, and tongue stud. and oh yeah.. when the pants came off.. a nice juicy p*ssy with big lips and big clit. yummy!!

i started to give her a tour of the penthouse (this always impresses the girls.. and robert claims that it gets them wet!). she kept saying how amazing the place and the views were. then i took her upstairs to the roof top swimming pool. she loved it and to my shock.. said it'd be a great place for sex!! i started fondling her tits (no bra) and pretty soon we were f*cking like rabbits next to the pool. after that we went downstairs to the room and had another session (this time with porno videos playing on the tv!). a real pse coupled with just the right amount of gfe.

sunday night robert took us to a couple of strip joints that are open (san diego is not). went into one place and it was pretty sleazy. girls were not that great. we had a couple of beers and then left for the other place. rather than go in, we just did a quick look and did not like anything. so, we went back home to get some sleep.

day 6: june 20

only a couple of days left for me. so i went shopping at a couple of malls. checked out the paisas and bought a few souvenirs and some shoes. at 10 pm or so, we went to san diego again. i chose a nice spinner called tamara (she had just danced and came to sit with us; with robert actually.. all the girls seem to gravitate to him). really nice body - tight and well maintained. had a very nice session.. would not do bbbj - kept teasing me! did a really nice spit job with hand however.. as i was tired after all the action and had a hard time coming. she managed to finish me off eventually.

day 7: june 21

went to miel y canela in the afternoon with robert. ended up choosing valeria (who is a cousin of sara from above; they have features in common). see pictures. had a very nice pse session. she just loved the camera and kept posing for more and more pictures. robert took a different girl (alexandra, i think). went back home and relaxed for a bit and had a few beers.

robert was supposed to meet with his gf and her mom for dinner and he invited me along. we went to a restaurant in a mall. while we were in the mall, robert gets a phone girls from one of his female friend. she says there is this 19 yo girl (julieth) who is looking to break into the business. goes to university north of medellin. she asks robert if he has any clients that might be interested. since we were going out for dinner that night he invited this girl along. we had a nice dinner and headed back to the penthouse (his gf came with us). robert asks me if i was interested in taking this girl on a test ride. after some hesitation (i just had a girl few hours before), i agreed. robert did all the negotiation (including bbbj and 2 hours for 100,000 pesos). i had a great session with her. i was expecting shyness and inexperience.. but she was fine in bed. slight language problem with her english and my spanish. the only time she was shy was when i was taking pictures. :-( sweet girl ended up paying her 120k pesos. see pictures.

day 8: june 22

lasy day.. really depressing! packed, ate breakfast and called olga for massage and a bj. i was to leave around noon. olga showed up at 11 am and gave another great massage. she started the bbbj and after a while asked if i had a condom. unfortunately, i had used them all up or packed them. in any case, i wish i had sex with her. i bet her p*ssy is real tight with all the aerobics she does. anyway.. she continued with her amazing bj and i finished in her mouth after a short time. great way to finish off my stay in medellin.

the taxi arrived on time (this time it was 40k pesos since nathalie was not going with me). had a nice long drive to the airport and flew to quito via bogota. no problems anywhere.

overall, i am very impressed with medellin. there are several reasons why.

1. the women: i must say after being in 30+ countries, that medellin has the highest concentration of beautiful women. every third one looks like a model. and the way they dress!! tight jeans, revealing blouses, high heels, etc. there is no differences in the way regular girls and working girls dress.

2. robert and greg: these guys are great! they made my stay really enjoyable (greg left for oz a couple of days after i got there.. he assured me it was previously planned!). robert knows a lot of girls and places and he is very eager to show the guys a good time. he never complained about having to make phone calls to girls on behalf of us.. who could not speak spanish. the penthouse and the mansion are great value too. with all the stuff included, the price is as good or better than many hotels in medellin.

3. beauty of the city. medellin is surrounded by mountains which i love. the penthouse had great views of the city.

4. lack of tourists: many americans are afraid to travel to colombia. this is a good thing because medellin is not overrun by tourists and the prices for girls are still reasonable.

i would definitely go back if i have a chance. and, i would stay in the mansion because, well, my spanish is no better now than it was in june. pm me if you want additional information.

cheers

Latest news,

There is no more Playboy-Penthouse and Medellin Apartments in Medellin, only Medellin Mansion and now in the next month Medellin Mansion 2.

Medellin Mansion 2 will cater for the $10.00 to $50.00 priced room market where Medellin Mansion 1 is for the $50.00 to $100.00 market.

Thank you Crypton for your detailed and accurate report. I was most fortunate to follow your lead Wednesday to "Honey and Cinnamon" Miel and ... on 65. I had a nice session with Manuella, a 19 year old blond, who gave me a great BBBJ and CIM. She has great shape, though is a little mechanical. I preferred the BBBJ so much I decided not to mount her doggie, when she offered me her sweet light skinned derriere. I did not see other girls that I wanted to do at that place, but with about 10 girls there in the afternoon there was a good selection. Cost was only 45,000 pesos, about $20 US.

I also had the opportunity to visit the Mansion, and I was quite impressed that it really appears like a Mansion! The house is quite extravagantly decorated and for first timers especially with limited Spanish skills, it is the way to go!

I also note, from reading the posts of guys who stay at this place, that the places you visit are all the same. If one wanted to stay elsewhere, all they would need to do is look in the Yellow Pages under masajistas and they would find the addresses and phone numbers of all the places... Loutron, Abydos, Energy, etc.

By the way, the normal taxi fare from Rio Negro Airport is about 40,000 pesos. On occasion I have paid 38,000 and my Colombian friends pay 60,000 round trip when they come to get me from the airport. 60,000 pesos sounds high for the taxi trip, but then did you get any action from Nathalie the escort? If so it may have been worth the extra cost.

I take the bus for 4K pesos. It stops in front of Hotel Botero Plaza in Centro in the heart of SW heaven. Hot glue-sniffers for 20K.

hi rooo

yes, internet, international calls, laundry and just a simple breakfast. both medellin bob and myself would like to catter for most of the tourists price range with mm 1, and now mm 2.

the $20.00 rooms, we have not worked that out yet of what they will be but they will be good value, nobody will be able to beat us for price, value and services and with the addded barbies on sunday afternoon with also meeting all our nice young, beautifull friends who just come around and use the pool and jacuzzi at our place.

the picīs will be up in about another week, we are using the medellin apartments old web site so look up that in a week or so.

thats all for now rooo, its the latest update, regards.

the aussie.

I'll be heading to Medellin this weekend. I was wondering if anybody know of any contacts as far as getting a hold of those "pre-paid cell girls" or those "model-type" girls. Not just girl-next-door-type pretty, but those Univision-dancer-sexy type girls. I'll be trying out the whole spectrum of girls when I get there -- from street (would be my first, but I got convinced after seeing some pics here and another forum), to casas, to these high-end girls.

Also, does anybody know of good taxi drivers for both day and night excursions. I'd be willing to pay them by the hour.

Muchas gracias.

Oralskillz,

I asked the same questions months back on the forum, and one friendly monger posted a phone number for a high-end pimp daddy a few days later. I never ended up trying the guy out, but if you scroll back you should be able to find the number.

Let us know how it goes. I for one am very curious.

I have read some of you guys complain about the cost of the Rio Negro airport taxi to Medellin. Some of you are paying 60,000 pesos while most pay the usual 38,000 to 40,000.

There is also a concern about safety, because you do not want to hop into a taxi with a strange Colombian driver.

I recently bought 2 new taxis in Medellin and will talk with my drivers to see if we can get a "Gringo rate" for us gringos. I will discuss with them a 10% discount and see if they will do this. Also you would know that they are not going to harm or kidnap you, since an american owns their taxi and livelihood.

I think they could use the extra business, especially on trips to the airport, because these type of trips are where they make their best money.

Please note that I would not make a dime off this, because they pay me a flat rate per day, regardless of how much they take in from fares.

If any of you think this is a good idea, please send me a PM or post here.

Just cleared it with the driver Cesar in Medellin. He will accept a 10% discount from normal fares for anyone who cares to mention a discount from the internet. He is just getting started driving and would like some airport runs.

In Spanish, say "Discuenta del internet" or something like that.

Sorry, but Cesar does not speak much English. If you want him to meet you at the airport, call in advance and he will hold up a sign with your name on it, or call from the airport when you get off the plane. It takes about 20-30 minutes to clear customs and get your baggage inspected before you get outside to the taxi waiting area. He has lived all his life in Medellin and can find any address or hotel for you.

Cesar's cell number from US is 011-57-315-514-3390. From Medellin you just call the last 10 numbers: 315-514-3390

He knows all the strip clubs and all the casas and can take you there safely. He drives from 6 am to late at night.

Sorry Peter, I do not know people well enough in Barranquila to trust them with a taxi. My friend Dave has some friends, I know her dad drives a van from Barr to Cart. but I don't think he would give a Gringo discount.

Yes, I am familiar with this type of transaction, very common here, but what I am curious about is how they pay you?

Because if they have to wire you money using Western Union or a similar service, their commision could be higher than the money they would have to wire you, and at least here this is done on a daily basis.

Next time you are in Barranqulla, or in Colombia, give me a call and we talk.TEL: 011 575 3784656, CELL: 011 57 310 624 4078 as dialed from the FROM USA.

We get a lot of Americans come down to Barranquilla, and what happen with Katrina, we expect to see a lot more Americans come down for Carnival next year.

It would be great if we could offer them something like that to the members of this board.

When I was living in Barranquilla, I had a good taxi in my Hotel n the Barranquilla Plazza. The portier from the hotel had given me one day his number and he sad that this taxi is the cheapest. (the cheapest taxi from this hotel) his name is Jorge Solom B. and his number is 310-600 59 42.

but I speak with Jorge in spanish and not in english.

You are living in this country, so you have to learn Spainish, and not the Columbians have to learn english.

All Colombian taxi drivers are happy when they have same tourists in his car who can speak Spainish. They likes to have conversation with us, and they like it very much when you are comming from Europa.

Sorry my english. I speak german.

Shall we ALL post the cell numbers of our favorite taxistas? Especially ones who drive taxis OWNED by the member posting. THAT would make a fascinating read. Perhaps a separate folder called "reliable Taxistas" or something would be warranted, but what ads for Medellin taxi drivers have to do with mongering in Barranquilla is frankly beyond me.

Crazy as it may sound, but New Orleans will be open within weeks of now.

And honestly, there is no real correlation between the celebration of Mardi Gras andrnaval, except maybe the dates. The people who go to either events (be it Carnaval in Rio, Barranquilla or Trinidad) are separate groups, by and large, and with different intentions although some may overlap. There are many reasons why folks go to Mardi Gras now (location, word of mouth advertising, no passport, no knowledge of Colombia except media, no knowledge of foreign language, boobs for beads is the best they could hope for, etc.).

I have no idea what e-mails you are receiving, however this is a mongering site. I suspect the dudes who are PMing you have mongered somewhere before, and just have an interest in mongering in Colombia. Either way, I suspect they don't number more than 5-10. Esp. since Barranquilla's Carnaval is much more of a family event, than say Rio's Carnaval, where mongering is everywhere. I'm sure you explained that in your replies to the "tons of e-mails," right?

But to say or infer that "we expect lots of Americans come down for Carnaval next year" as a result of a possible Mardi Gras cancellation, is a blatant mispresentation. I would go so far as guess that 90% of the Mardi Gras crowd don't even know that there is a Carnaval in Colombia, nor the city (Barranquilla), nor that it exists during the same time as Mardi Gras.

And actually, this is the Medellin thread, not Barranquilla. AND you're a vendor at that. I just couldn't let the misinformation slide.

Well, you have made your point, and I have made mine. And I don`t know if you have been here before, but I would not call the Carnival a family event,AND some private emails NOT PMs from any board did mention the possibility of Mardi Grass being cancelled, AND AS I said I am not there , I don`t know.

Also, ALL I said was WE EXPECT MORE AMERICANS TO COME DOWN NEXT YEAR,And every year we get a lot of foreigners both from the States and Europe as well as from some parts of South America and our share of Colombians from other parts of the Country also, which lead us to believe the Carnival here, is INCREASING in popularity.

when I said as a result of Katrina, I said it because people from this board on the PMs I got, and also people from outside this or other boards would mention that as well. And we are not as UNKOWN as you might want to make it sound, and frankly, I am not interested in having an argument or a [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) FIGHT with you. So let`s leave it at that.

And belive me I get more than 10 PMs and emails asking about it , and if it is very hard to find a room here as early as January, Carnival is in February, I expect this to happen a lot sooner, and YES this is the Medellin thread so let`s leave it so. Peter.

Been there (BAQ Carnaval), done that, will be there next year and with the right mindset. Got outstanding offers to be in a couple of cumbias there. Only way to actively participate in the event, no?

As far as a family event, I hope you're not counting the water fights and white powder tosses as anything major. LOL!!! Of course, there are many hot chicas there, but most are with their families and circle of friends. Just as they will be at nights as well, celebrating with their relatives from other Colombian cities and countries who come back to celebrate with family. Easy pickins, right? Not. Rio or Trinidad, it's not.

I agree that we don't need to get into a [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) fight, esp. in the Medellin forum, over Katrina, Mardi Gras or BAQ's Carnaval. However, I will say that as an Advertiser, you should observe the same rules as other Advertisers/Vendors, and solicit clients in that forum where you can preach whatever gospel you'd like and to your heart's content.

We can take this over the Barranquilla thread if you want , so that we leave these guys here alone with thier Medellin thread.

the only reason why I mentioned Barranquilla here was because I thought NGP`s idea about a trusted cab was very interesting and since he has been here I thought we could offer the board members a service they could trust at a reduced price.

Also, I COULD BE be a SENIOR MEMBER just like you,but since I am not a monger I asked Mr. jackson to give me that title, I believe I am the only one that has it here,so since I also use my REAL NAME, as my bussines is to be known,I thought it would be honest to use my real condition,ADVERTISER instead of monger which I am not.

I would love to see mardi Grass someday, I have only seen it in pictures over the internet.

And if you are coming back next year, book your room early, and if you care give me a call 378 4656, or my cel. 03 310 624 4078, both as you would dial locally. Cheers, Peter.

I receive a mail from another "insider" living in Baq there is no need for rushing to book a hotelroom. It is plain buisiness to stress up tourists. To book early so they are sure to ge a full 100 % occupation during carnevale. When you take your time you still will be able to find rooms. Do not let you rush into it.... and for Gods sake watch the prices, they sure know how to double it when they see a gringo face (especially at carnevale). Stay cool, dont be afraid to rent out of the city center, despites the fact you will have to drive a longer way to get into the scene. It worths the effort.

I have been to Medellin twice in 2 years each time staying for 2 months. My last trip there I met and partied with a cool guy from that city, Gustavo.
I have advised Gustavo many times that he should share his knowledge of Medellin and its beautiful women. We have hung out in centro-commercials, discos, bars etc… I can tell you from my own experiences that Gustavo will have your best interests at heart, being on the search for that perfect girl or your safety. Gustavo can also accompany you to discos off the beaten track (not parque llerars or Mangos) to areas where the gringo is still a novelty and looked at as an interesting man. A place where you can find a real Colombiana not a gringa wannabe.

Also Gustavo has lived in the USA, speaks very good English, understands and can relate to your needs.

You can contact Gustavo directly, cellular in Medellin 311-388-3861

PM me with any questions or for email address & telephone numbers… Rufus

Disclaimer: I am not associated financially with Gustavo’s guide service in anyway. I recommend his services as a discrete and very informed guide of Medellin. Please do not ask me what he charges as that is personal between Gustavo & his clients needs.

That area is really nice. One of the towns is called Le Fe and they have an awesome park/restaurant to hang out - replete with a big natural waterfall running off the mountain. The food isn't great, which is a shame because it's so picturesque.

And there are so many roadside restaurants serving great cheap food/drinks - I've never been disappointed by any, except for the one at the waterfall.

The lake is part of an ecological reserve and you can rent a boat for the hour or day very cheap (like at Guatape). I've passed the lake numerous times but haven't stopped there.

Also the nice thing about EOH airport is security - you pass through it just as you enter, so everyone is screened, passengers and non-passengers. It's really fast. You should look into Satena (they have a website, though not very good) if going to Cali from Medellin - makes no sense to go to MDE. Also a good choice if you need to go to Bogota. They don't go to CTG, but maybe West or Aires does and they both fly out of EOH.

Yes I like to monger. I'd like to hook up the web cam to my laptop. If I can get on the internet at the mansion (with wireless card) then have a couple gorgeous Colombianas in bed with me and broadcast my escapades to a few close friends back in the States. THat would be cool. I'd also like to log-on to the Adult Friend Finders site (AFF) and set up several web cams, make it an event on the AFF site. Then I can feel like a true porn star!

Some of my beautiful slutty friends here in the states and I get together from time to time and have a small (4-8 people) orgy . . . we can typically get over 1000 viewers on AFF. I love having slutty friends with gorgeous bodies! Maybe I should get an internet sound card for my laptop. One of my hot looking nympho playmates here in the USA wants me to call her so she can listen while I am getting my wheels greassed, and perhaps while she at the same time is getting herself lubed by a couple of her boyfriends.

There are very few pros in Poblado, the richest barrio in MDE. Parque Lleras is in Poblado and has the best eye candy on Fri. and Sat. nights. The problem is that the chicas ricas don't need your money.

I know of nothing special in Estadio. But it is a fairly safe area.

The best place ot meet non-pros is riding the metro. The second best place is any large mall outside of Poblado. Third best-either of the two large bus terminals.

I agree, Satena's website is worthless. I usually call them up for scheduling info and buy my ticket at the airport. I'm using them again on Monday, taking their 7:15am flight from EOH to Bogota, perfect for my 10am flight to the States. If I were to take Avianca, it would leave at 6:30am from Rio Negro, not a pretty picture, especially that I can see the planes landing at EOH from my living room balcony - 10 minutes away.

If you can wait until Monday, I'll be happy to get you their schedule from Cali to EOH and back, along with fare info. If you can't wait, let me know and I'll give them a call for you. Happy to help.

I got burned big time by Aerorepublica and Avianca trying to connect to international flight out of BOG. Schedules on domestic flights are more estimates than commitments and don't expect US airlines to necessarily waive change fees because your domestic connection arrived late. Ditto for possible security delays.

Thanks for offer SL but I think I need to sort it out before Monday. I will have antifreeze call from Cali to enquire.

Guess I should ask here, though i am skeptical of getting a response, but has anybvody here been to the coast of Choco?

Yeah, BOG is not the best-run airport, especially in terms of clearing immigration on the way out. MDE used to be good, but with 3 morning flights leaving the same time, they've become as bad as BOG.

On the other hand, I've had good luck with the various Colombian airlines not falling out of the sky and getting me to my destination on-time. I pretty much buy a seat at the front of the bus, so they are changeable/refundable with no fees - but of course it is a hassle to scramble for another flight at the last minute.

One thing Avianca has been good about - when I fly in from the States to BOG, I'm scheduled to arrive at 8pm (but it frequently gets in 15-30 minutes early), right when an Avianca flight leaves for MDE. I always book the next (and last) flight to MDE which leaves @ 10:30pm, but if I can get to the Avianca gate at 7:45pm (and I do half the time), they've always found a seat for me on the earlier flight.

Avianca's execution isn't always smooth, but they have tried to do right, at least by me.

According to the Footprints Colombia guide a tourist train runs on weekends from Bogota to Medellin. Has anyone been on it?? Since bus travel not recommended thought riding a train would be cool.

Is it generally OK to make reservations, say a day in advance? Though obviously several airports in each city guess I should stick with the ones mentioned here for domestic flying:

(Bogota) Santafe De Bogota Eldorado Intl SKBO BOG
(Medellin): Medellin Olaya Herrera SKMD EOH
(Cartegena): Cartagena Rafael Nunez SKCG CTG
(Cali): Cali Alfonso Bonilla Aragon Intl SKCL CLO

Does this look right for the airports I should be using for domestic flights???

A couple things: As far as the airports, EOH is the inner-city Medellin airport and as such is only has domestic flights. However, MDE, which serves Medellin but is actually in Rio Negro has a lot more domestic flights than EOH. All the Avianca flights go to MDE, not EOH. So check both.

As it happens I'm flying from Bogota to MDE tomorrow on Avianca's last flight out @ 10:30pm. I'd like to take Satena from BOG to EOH, but their last flight leaves at 4:30pm. But I am taking Satena Monday morning @ 7:15am from EOH to BOG. So you can mix and match a bit according to your schedule.

As far as a tourist train, I've never heard anything about it. Travel on the new highway between Bogota and Medellin is safe by bus - my girl does it all the time. It's cheap, but it takes 10 hours each way - not my cup of tea. I start bitching if I'm not in the FC cabin on the 45 minute flight from BOG-MDE, no way I'm doing double-digits in a bus.

Surfer

the worst pisser about Avianca is their surly customer service. Even when you are delayed by their errors, you have to fight tooth and nail just to get hotel and meal vouchers. Then there is their handling of Privilegios millas. I better stop thinking about it or I will need an anger managemnet class. ):

Never heard, nor read, about this so called tourist train but if it existed it would sure make am appealing and soft target for FARC. Rural Eastern Antioquia is considered tieera peligrosa, and while Colombian chicas can pass on roads through rebel areas roadblocks with security, any foreigner is presumed rich and therefore an appealing prize for sequesteros. My Gf from Popayan used to always take the bus to Cali but no bloody way I would have ever done it. You ever been to Jamundi? You can see/feel that you are on the edge of civilization. When I went from Cali to Popayan i had to fly via BOG (no direct flights).

But I just want to know what the girls part of the money budget is in Colombia. I have seen what rooms and those expenses are. Myself I prefer the semi pros, but then who doesn't? One thing is clear. negociate beforehand. Otherwise you could endup in a very bad position, which would cost you more as a pro or wich could cost you some ribs or even more.

As a thumb of rule. Pay 50 %- 75 % of what you would pay a pro.

Yesterday in the Night I decided to visit the famous Loutron, here's my report:

I went out of my hotel, it was raining and it as a littel bit dificult to get a taxi, finally I got one, I was said that near "Templo Antonia" there is a "reservado" (ie massage parlor) which is very good, I asked that to the driver and he told me "yeah, there is one there, it is called 'Lejano Oriente'" however, he told me Loutron is much better, so I told myself "ther we go, let's get out of doubts and see if it is as good as people says". Once one arrives, it is a house with no ads (actually there's an ad but not related with services provided inside), a security guy opens the door so your taxi can get in, once inside this same security guy checks if you have any weapon, or security treat and takes you to the house and a hostess receives you, kindly offers you a drink and takes you to a living room (there are three or four in the house), and proceeds to call the girls for presentation. Unfortunately this day there aren't many girls to select, only four come to presentation and of these, only one was a 8, the rest, were 6 or 7, actually I saw a better girl but she was going out for a "domicilio", so i had to take the 8 girl whose name was Daniela, onc in the room it is a little extrange 'cause all the walls are painted with weird roses, flowers and stuff, lighted with candles so, the environment is a mix of romance and terror house, what I really liked was that the girl took a shower previous to action, which is something I really appreciate, finally she starts to give a good massage (one wouldn't expect to get a really good massage on these places), we started to chat, and broke the ice, then I asked her to lie down and started to kiss her and eat those delicious lips and clit, however, after just some minutes she asked me to not continue , it seemed she didn't want to get too exited, after that she prceeds to CBJ which was good, however I would have appreciated a BBJ, finally she starts to ride me and started to get excited (at the begining I tough she was faking), then I asked her to change position and cotinued with a misisonero one, on this positition I started to get really exited and so her, after some minutes I was ready to finish, but saw she was starting to get really exited, so, I resisted and continued, after some more minutes we both finished and she got really exhausted and relaxed, at the end we both took a shower and got dressed, I really liked the attitude of the girl, she really wanned to please me. We got out to the living room where the hostess collected the money and kindly offered me to ask for a cab.

The overallexperience was good, however the quality of the girl on that moment wasn't great for the price (130,000 COP/ 60 USD), for a little bit more of that price I can go to abydos and get to girls at the same time, and get the same quality, I suppose in that day the good girls were not available.

Finally I went out to my hotel with a good experience but not with what I expected for the price.

I will try another day, and also will try Lejano Oriente.

try abydos on 33d. Look in the yellow pages for massage. Same owner, same quality of girls, but only 73,000 pesos. Basically you do not pay for the mansion and acres of land.

Lejano Oriente is more expensive, many more girls not any prettier, and they try to rip you off. The guy who shows you where the room is will ask you for a tip, and they will try to sell you the condom. Rip off.

It was 110 earlier this year, like 85 last year, and qualityb is not getting better. Abydos & Energia, to name just too, offer better value IMHO. You pay a premium for the great facilities at Loutron, that is for sure.

11-11-05, 19:23
You're absolutely corecto Surfer ... Loutron prices are ridiculous ... prices going up I'm sure because more gringos are heading to Medellin ... ie ... right around the corner ... Medellin Mansion.

I'd rather hit el Centro and look for the real "sweethearts" ... at one third the price ... and double the enthusiasm.

Go around the centro, the girls are dirt cheap, and many hotties, but it is dangerous for gringos, be careful. Around san diego, many hotties, but many gays and guys, be careful at night.

I'm interested to have a visit to Energy, however, nowhere in the forum is the address, searching the yellow pages found two posible addresses: one that says "Energy la 33" in Calle 33, #66B-96 (Near Abydos and Miel y Canela), and another that says "CENTRO DE RELAJACIÓN CORPORAL ENERGY" in Carrera 74 49-101, so which one is the correct?? anyone can tell me?

The address I have from the yellow pages from my June visit -

I wrote it on a slip of paper and gave it to the taxi driver.

My Gf from Popayan used to always take the bus to Cali but no bloody way I would have ever done it. You ever been to Jamundi?

I just happened to read on another site that this year marks a 5th year anniversary of that no foreigner was kidnapped off of a bus in Colombia. I entirely agree with Surfer though: let's stay off buses and keep this number low. Where is Jamundi??

Funny little story about Energy. I knew gerenarlly where it was but I couldn't reconize the entrance so I asked a home-less guy a half a block away. "tu sabes Energy?" he looked a little confused and I rephrased "donde esta casa de putas?" A big smile was on his face and he replied "si senor" and walked me the rest of the way there. We had a good chat and I gave him the change in my pockets, about $2,000 COP he was happier than a pig in shit.

There was no way no hell this guy would have the funds for a place like that. No wonder I love Colombia so much everybody is happy to help out the horny gringo... JAJAJA.

I've been experimenting with meeting non working girls on the internet using daitng services like http://match.latam.msn.com and developing a written relationship with a girl(s) then meet them when I visit.

This worked well for me in Medellin. I met several and one spent the night on our second date and came back a day later for a romp in the afternoon! I'm late 50's and she's early 20's.

I paid for her taxi of course and the date was not much money. Much more satisfying for me, than a working girl. We all pay in the end, right......

I do go to the casas too just to take the edge off before a date ;-)
This place is paridise for a guy...........
Enjoy!

First time posting on this board so not sure if it is the right place. I am visiting Medellin for the very first time and don't know much about Spanish. I have been to Colombia several times, Cali, Bogota, and Cartagena and have friends in these cities so never needed a guide. Don't have a friend in Medellin so getting kind of nervous.

Also would appreciate hotels/apartments recommendations which are guests friendly and also respect my privacy; meaning don't want to stay at a place full of horny and drunk men.

Anyone knows a good english speaking driver and Spanish tutor?

This site latinamericancupid.com is really good and to me it is a lot better than match .com or amigos.com I have used it a lot in mexico and now i am using it for my time in Colombia soon. It is a little pricey but I think the return is a lot better. Even in My home town of Tijuana i used it and was very good.

There is aslo a translator that you should learn to use plugin.imtranslator.com/ it will aslo help a lot but the funny thing is you can use on the sites and the chat boxes but in msn mail it wont paste

Thanks you guys,

I am flying to Medellin for a few days to celebrate NewYears Eve. Just curious on how the party scene there is for the eve. I was considering staying in Lima, but i'm dying to get to Colombia for the first time.

Also, I want to hire a driver/tour guide for my 3 days there, anyone know of any good guys? My spanish level is intermediate, so English is not required, but would be nice.

I was in Medellin for New Year's Eve last year and -- big surprise for me -- things were dead. Turns out new years is a holiday that people tend to spend with family and friends at home or at the villa, rather than going out to some big disco or club as you might imagine.

So if you are a solo traveler looking for action, New Year's Eve could be a lonely night. If you have some local friends who can invite you out to their finca, that's a different story.

As I recall, Mangos had a big new year's party the night BEFORE New Years which was a blast. I think they have one of these every month actually.

CBS news "he came from Medellin. who knows what kind of security screening they have down there."

Just like the americans to blame Medellin. I came from Mde the day before and was scanned 3 times before boarding. 2 girls on my flight had their stomaches x-rayed. Last time I came from Cali they x-rayed my stomach.

Seems the guy worked at Home Depot. They should blame Home Depot for his problem.

Not all Colombian airports use the military for security. They use private security at the x-ray machines in Bogota.

Question: The airplane was on the ground, parked at the airport before leaving the gate. Wasn't the Patriot Act designed to prevent airborn airplanes in flight from being AIRBORNE missiles into World Trade Centers???

Question: None of the passengers heard this man say he had a bomb in his backpack. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-planefolo0905dec09,0,3421926.story?coll=orl-home-headlines Seven passengers interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel -- seated in both the front and rear of the main passenger cabin -- said Alpizar was silent as he ran past them on his way to the exit. One thought he had taken the wrong flight. Another thought he was going to throw up.

Now after he is dead it is only the government who alleges he "said" he had a bomb. Isn't this a convenient alibi to justify their murder? How can a dead person testify to refute this allegation?

Question: They shot him in the back for running off a plane, up the ramp, not for hijacking a plane. What is to protect me the next time I get diarhea and have to run out ? Will I get shot in the back?

Question: The guy had already been screened twice before getting on the plane. Were the government agents justified in thinking he had a bomb?

Question: What the fuck was the man's wife doing chasing him up the aisle of the coach section, shouting at him? Having a wife like that would make any normal man be bipolar.

P.S. The guy worked in an Orlando Home Depot in the paint department. He lived in Costa Rica 20 years ago, but owned a quarter of a million dollar home in suburban Orlando (Maitland) since 1998.

Having gotten all my knowledge of the incident from CNN ... like most of you ... we still don't know the "whole" exact correct story yet.

It's sad, really sad to think an unarmed guy was killed.

but ...

With the victim claiming to have a bomb, and with the world full of bombers, suicide bombers ... it would be tough to ignore claims of a bomb.

More and more devices are being invented to make it thru security ... terrorosts are tricky MFs.
Also ... have you seen some of the security screeners ... not brain surgeons.

I had friends killed on airplanes by crazy dudes on 9/11.

I've met many air marshalls ... they're anything but murderers ... of course there's the occasional dip-shit, most are pretty cool ... doing a necesary job.

Hard for me to condem the shooters til I hear the "real" story.

I'm very sad that an un-armed, disturbed guy was killed.

Also ... I'm not a Bush supporter either ... proudly voted Democrat.

NGP; To answer some of your questions you should remember that there are some things that you DO NOT say on an airplane these days, and one of them is talking about a bomb.

I agree with Ricker, it is sad that this guy died, but I can't blame the Air Marshals for shooting him. What if he really did have a bomb in his bag and was reaching for a detonator? What do you think that the response would have been then?

Here is a quote from a local news source "They say Alpizar claimed to have a bomb in carry-on luggage and ran towad the cockpit. His wife ran after him.

"She was crying, 'my husband my husband' when he ran up there. I know there was a scuttlebutt, some kind of intensity happening in the front and those poor people in first class saw everything. There were children there and I know that was horrifying for them," said witness Mary Gardner"

I don't see where those two air marshals had any choice but to put this guy down.

Seven passengers interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel -- seated in both the front and rear of the main passenger cabin -- said Alpizar was silent as he ran past them on his way to the exit. One thought he had taken the wrong flight. Another thought he was going to throw up.

"I can tell you, he never said a thing in that airplane. He never called out he had a bomb," said Orlando architect Jorge A. Borrelli, who helped comfort Alpizar's wife after the gunfire. "He never said a word from the point he passed me at Row 9. . . . He did not say a word to anybody."

Two teens seated in Row 26 agreed. So did Jorge Figueroa, a power-plant operator from Lakeland seated a few rows behind first class.

"He wasn't saying anything; he was just running," Figueroa said. "I said to myself, 'It is probably a person who took the wrong plane.' "

Wife tried to explain

What Alpizar's fellow passengers did hear were the desperate explanations from Buechner, Alpizar's wife, who at first seemed embarrassed by her husband's hasty exit. She started to follow him off the plane, saying, "He's sick. He needs to get off the plane," witnesses said. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-planefolo0905dec09,0,3421926.story?coll=orl-home-headlines

Well, I do not wish to go into politics but you have to blame first the US foreign policies, second that those guys went through the security checks of US airports with no guns on them and finally that they managed to take hold of 4 airplanes at the same time.

I am not on their side of course but I will not be suprised if somewhen it is proven that this was a provocative act.

Tighten security yes, airmarshalls yes, guns into the airplanes no.

USA editorial suggests air marshalls should be equiped with stun guns. That way if they are in the air they will not blow a hole in the pressurized plane.

There was no direct threat of harm to the air marshalls. What would the guy do, throw his back pack at them? They should have stun guns and they should have stunned the guy.

Next time it will be you or I, especially if we get off a plane from Colombia.

BTW, Avianca has US air marshalls on every flight. Every airline that flies into the US is governed by the FAA. The marshalls always fly first class, for free, and you can spot them because they are gringo, about 35-40 years old. I noticed 2 of them on my last trip last week. One of them gave me a ride from the Cartagena airport in his "level 5" bullet proof car. All he would tell me was he worked for the US government and did whatever he was told to do. Interesting why these types are allowed in Colombia in the first place.

I have over 10 years of armed military service, but I would not like to die the result of a mistake or error by an air marshall.

All suggestions would be appreciated . I get to Bog. on the 19th and Med. on the 22nd, if any fellow wsg members want to get together for a chat, the first beer is on me.

Laters!

Mangera,

If this is your first time (regardless of Spanish fluency), I suggest staying at the Mansion. And yes, Paisas are all that. Robert and Greg are great hosts and will show you a good time. Also, I found that the SW scene in MDE is quite different. There are some gems there (although I did not partake). Robert and Greg will show you all the places you need to see. My only regret is I am not there!

I made Loutron my first stop this trip. I heard they had about twelve girls on duty, which was a surprise, since this past summer there were only three at most on any of my visits. I was told to go early - about 1:00, for the best selection.
There were about nine or ten on duty the day I went. I liked Lina and Sophia. Lina was my first choice on looks, and Sophia my first choice on attitude. I always take the good attitude if itīs even close. The only downside with Sophia was her poor teeth, but everything else was great. She has an excellent modelīs body with a pretty face. The service was great - sheīs a pleaser.
Itīs good to see that the prices for Loutron havenīt gone up since this summer. They seemed to have had a lot of run-up in the last few years. Since they are double or more than most places around town, I don't see how they can try to go higher and not be priced out (even though they are closer to Poblado than the other places). The facilities are a little nicer than a lot of places, but not really by much. For example, they still have mattresses on the floor instead of beds. The showers are still pretty crappy. Maybe their compound is nice, but Iīm there to have fun in a nice room with a good shower before and after.

Loutron,

Just my two cents worth on Loutron.

There not there for gringoīs, its high society/business/mafia/military/policia/paramilitary/sportsman/FARC type Colombians that is there bread and butter.

Gringosīare only a problem for them because they fall in love with their girls and want to take them home.

The reason why at most times there are only a few girls is that there either working in the rooms or are on call out which happens neally every day for call outs. Sometimes people will call up for 5-6 girls.

Thats my two cents worth.

Aussie, That was probably one of the truest things I have read on these boards. Although most gringo's(americans, I am one) think high end places are there for us gringos, it only holds true for the Costa Rica fans. Thru out SA these places have catered sucessfully for years to the local "Money" of which there is Mucho and could not give a rats ass about the gringo's business. Once you understand and hopefully are humbled by the experience you will realize most of us aren't even pimples on a elephants ass. While I am at the microphone, I might as well add that Peruvian women have your sorry assed women beat by a country mile. Ja Ja Thanks again for telling it like it is!

LB: American women oh hell yes! Befroe I proceed LB lets agree on this, it is OK for us to disagree! Now with that disclaimer out of the way!

LB: Oh hell no, Peruvian women are A #1 in South America? For me it goes like this! Best looking hands down Rio baby. Fuck you ALL night long, hell you treat them right, even the Pro's 7am breakfast is served, 8am their ass is off to the gym or running! You got to love that shit! But hell you can't trust them for a New York minute! Easy cums easy goes it is what it is!

Peru jajajajajajaj, OK they do have some lookers but they rank about #6 in South America IMHO! Peru, pussy is as cheap as Thailand, thanks David33! A country mile, how bout a city block!

Now the women of Colombia looks World class baby, body hell I love me some Colombianas but can't touch Brazil with a 3000 mile pole! But overall SATISFACTION oh my god, and those are the words that come out of my mouth when I'm down there Oh My God! Can you guys say JEANS! Tell me where else in the world where you can step off the plane and get an instant Woody Wood Pecker, from a girl wearing a pair of jeans, and LB I aint talking about Just Pro's but I mean the non-pro's as well! LB my girl is 29 I'm 43 and her 40 year old auntie's give me a woody just with their jeans I look at them and again I'm like, Oh My God!

Hell i could go on and on, but you'll chulk it up to a common Rockie mistake!

LB, in your own words your retired, come again!

Ricker: Dude I aint forgot about Caracas, that was another Oh My God experience! You know the mall that is housed where the Best Western is, I've never seen woman in their 40's that took my breath away! The sad thing was all those damn fast food places there!

LB: No harm no foul, just fuckin around nothing more nothing less!

Take Care,

LP

Whats this about Peruvian women ? Got who beat ? Peruvian women are the uglist of South American women. Colombia, Venezuela, and Brasil hold the title for the best looking women, PERIOD ! Even Stevie Wonder can see that. Look at the photo galleries, Peru is mediocre at best.

Sly,
You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I was throwing a barb at Aussie Greg (who took it in the spirit I intended). I respect LP's post's and opinions as well (just not his taste in women).

For purposes of edification, I have never claimed Peruvians are the best looking in the world or SA for that matter. IMHO Venezuela holds that title!

But as we are all partial to different types and I do not wish to start a flame war with anyone, I think we should end this discussion "Once and for all" by putting it in the hands of the "Miss World" judges. While this is not the most scientific method, I think it should suffice for the purposes of this board.

If we go back over the results for the past 10 years we find that Miss Colombia has in fact been a runnerup 2 times, but never won!

Further research tells us that "Oh my lord" Not only has Miss Peru been a runnerup 2 times, but last year she won the title.

Now I admit there is a "fly in the soup" as we are talking about women in general as opposed to "puta's". I have dated women from both countries but have never P4P with a Colombiana. Also as LP correctly points out "I am recently retired" from the game. This was as a result of moving to Peru from NYC and learning the best (read: beautiful gfe)women are not "in the game", But rather are readly available.

Every city or country has its fair share of beautiful and ugly women. While most here are of the opinion that the best reside in Med or Cali, which correct me if I am wrong, have a combined population of about 4 million.

In Lima, where I reside there are approx 8.5 million. More than 1/2 are women and more than 1/2 again are women under 25. There are also by some reports 3 women to every man here(It is also said about Caracas). If you do the simple math, it should be apparent that there are many more beautiful and ugly young women in Lima then any of the other 19 largest cities in the world.

For the most part Colombiana's come from the Peruvian "gene pool" mixed with the same "Spanish" blood. What sets Peru women apart are the Chinese/Japonese/German/Italian influences that have entered the gene pool in the past 100 years.

All of the above factors taken together can only point to one conclusion.

"PERUVIANS ERES LO MEJOR"

But please lets keep this to ourselves!

I'm making my first trip down to Medellin in February and was wondering whats the music like at some of the clubs such as Mango's. Coming from New York I am ahuge fan of hip hop so was hoping there would be some places to listen to hip hop down there. I've been to Thailand, Angeles City, and Brazil and have found hiphop to be the norm in all of these places. So can someone please confirm if this is true for Medellin. Also whats the general attitude of the girls towards African Americans? In all of the other places I've been havent really found it to be an issue so I hope Medellin is the same.

Thanks,

Hoya
