For the smaller, and possibly family run hotels, I used a small, portable travel and relatively lite weight safety box with a cable that could be wrapped / secured around a bed frame. You can buy them on the internet for around $20 US. However, for day carry, I used a lite weight fabric money belt large enough for my passport and monies. At no time in Saigon did I feel unsafe in District 1, the tourist area. Even when I went to massage parlors for Foot / Dick massages and had to disrobe and putting my nasty drawers in a basket, I always found any monies left in my pockets still there. This is not to say that there are not pickpockets and motorbike thieves. So, always carry your passport in a moneybelt along with your big money. Not that big money in Vietnam, the Dong, is worth much more than quality ass wipe.

And is it safe to travel from these districts to the tourist area after say ten or eleven pm by taxi?Both D7 and D10 are relatively safe if you stay with reputable Taxi company such as VinaSun or Mai-Linh, also safe with Grab or Uber (cars at night, moto is OK during day time). If you must go by motobike at night beware of purse snatchers and pickpockets. Violent crimes are rare but petty crimes are very common, especially at night.

Back in Saigon and did quite a bit of research before this trip and tried to uncover some new places. This time, with the help of google translate and some Vietnamese forums, I noticed a new place called Zeus on Pham Ngu Lau.
It seems there is a chain of these under the "MassageZ" branding, mostly in areas where tourists wouldn't normally venture, but this new one has just opened right in heart of backpacker hell (number 359 Pham Ngu Lau. At the Western end).
The target is for Viet locals but they had no problems welcoming me in and the chubby manager guy is super friendly but with little English.
Ok, so here's the deal. There are 3 ticket prices, 500 K (90 minutes), 750 K and 900 K. I only ever tried the 500 K one, so I can't say what the differences are apart from the timing. They then add the girl tip of $500 K, so you just pay the straight up $1 M at reception without having to worry about extra tips for the girls.
Now after you go upstairs to the waiting room they will serve your fruit and water and sit in the lounge area and watch HBO on the big screen while waiting for the girls.
Then they call you over to an ipad to show you the girls that are available along with their vital stats like weight and height (no age listed). I only ever got a selection of 5 girls and each time it is really hard to choose for a fussy bugger like me as I prefer to see the girls in person.
Anyhow, the 3 I tried there were 20,23 and and around 29 yo.
Ok, so what happens in the room.

For information, in Saigon:

I had gone to the Fortune Hotel last week to check things out and did a quick trip in for a standard foot massage. The girl was friendly despite some limited English. Yes yes, I've had a plethora of 300 k to 500 k full service girls. Some were a great surprise, some were as expected, and very few have been a little disappointing (but not really given the price). The prices you pay in VN had tip already because it includes a foreigner tax. You can only avoid if you speak Vietnamese and can pass as a local.
For example, a ticket for a regular massage (nice place like Minh tam or dai nam) is about 300 k. Locals get a HJ with it, and typically tip another 300 k. Foreigners have to negotiate at least 500 k.

Phuoc Loc Tho Hotel 1 & 2.
These two hotels are across the street from the 5 star Windsor Plaza hotel in district 5. PLT1 and PLT2 are about 50 meters apart.
PLT 1 only offers a two hour massage for 400 K dong. The girl was homely, thirtyish but was chesty. The session began by being bathed by the masseuse with the occasional tug on my willie. Soon after the beginning of the massage she apparently removed her top and was rubbing them against my back. The flip occurred less than 15 minutes into the massage. In HCMC this weekend. And checked out Zeus (first times) and Vien Dong (been many times).
Zeus. While this place gets great reviews from others, I was not a big fan. Too mechanical.
Quite easy to find on the main street. Lots of neon. 1st floor to the waiting area. Its a much smaller room than I imagined and lots of neon and tacky decor. Foreigners are offered a few different packages. The cheapest one is 1 Million, which is 90 minutes. All action takes place in VIP room, which includes the sauna, steam, shower, massage, massage with tits, poor BBBJ. I was told to wait 10 minutes for girls. After 20 minutes, I was given a selection of three girls from the Ipads. I picked what I thought was the best looking girl. I then had to wait another 5 minutes. Which took 20 minutes. I was very upsets.

This place got a lot of attention when it opened. A flurry of posts from new accounts especially on another forum. The publicity from the early police raid probably didn't do any harm either.
However, it really is a low value tourist trap and not IMO a hotspot.

I'm surprised to hear Diva had only 2 girls available: usually there are 5 or 6 sitting around waiting for business. I live in VN since 20 years, I have some experience with the local scenes in saigon and I'm always surprised regarding the prices accepted by my fellow expats or tourists.
For information, in Saigon:
1/ a blowjob bar real price is 250 K (ticket) + 100 K for the girl (tip). For this price you have BJ + often CIM. The girl is often naked too.
It's the famous false haircut places, called HTGD. There are all around the city.
2/ In some massage places like Zeus (and others) you can have nuru + BJ + sometimes CIM. 500 K for the girl is a normal price if the place is high end.
3/ In massage places, a simple HJ (the famous happy ending) should never be paid higher than 250 K tip (exception for high end spa). Some locals & expats prefer to apply the 50% rule. Means you give to the girl the equivalent of 50% of the ticket. If the spa massage ticket is 500 K, you give 250 K to the girl for the happy ending. For 1 M, you give 500 K, etc.
4/ If you want FS, the normal price for the girl is 500 K / 1 H. Max of the max: 1 million. (hostel / place not included).

Saying yes for a FS at a massage place for 1.5 or 2 millions is just disrupting the market in a wrong way.

So Diva has a change of shift around 1 pm. That's the best time to go since you can see both day and nights girls.

That's what I like about Thao dien. Not every girl has the same routine or even provide extra service. So you never know what's going to happen next. I am an explorer so I love surprises. Been in HCM for the second time. The first time I found some nice parlors some meters from Ho Sen hotel in D1 , but now I am stranded in Binh Thanh Thu Duc and d9 for reasons. I've noticed a several massage parlors open late in Dinh Bo Linh street in Binh Thanh some with "guards" outside, is it safe to assume I can go inside for a full service without being scammed? Help a brother and his soldier out.Have you tried the new yoni spa? Mind body spa, I think it's on lang bao chi or a small street near. Only 2 girls work there and same owner as Yoni. Girls are enthusiastic and overall not a rushed experience. Trang in orchid spa off Quoc huong is also very good. I've had a few from Orchid and no complaints. All the usual 500 k which is just too expensive compared to htgd on Tran Nao.

I tried a legitimate massage spa in D2 on Thursday. I've been going there for a while and always get good quality massage from all of the girls there. Not known, or at least by me, for offering extras.
