Took her to the Argentine Steak house just next door.That's got to be El Gaucho. Fantastic food. If you are a true meat lover there is not better place. On a separate note, the reason I replied to this thread was I have a very interesting memory associated with El Gaucho.
On one of my numerous visits, after letting go of the LT gem from the previous night at Climax I went to this restaurant for my lunch. As I sat there sipping my Capirinha, an ultra cute chick comes up and asks if she can join my table. Yes. Totally out of the blue. I was curious so I said yes but also wary. Street vendor food is generally very safe, if freshly cooked. Use a busy vendor that sells fast, so it becomes unlikely to be old stale produce. I have been very sick for days after bad food from a restaurant in Soi 19, and often have problems after restaurant / cafe river prawns, but never get sick from street vendors. No need for Microbe phobias.
2. Motorcycle taxis are not completely safe. Avoid use in high speed areas. Back Sois during traffic jams, is more okay I have used to get to a Soapy in a hurry, but its a risk. At least the drivers are very experienced. Better to use MRT where possible.
4. No clue what you are getting at. I am also not Thai. Indians live in many countries in the world. Indian culture? I don't experience that. Never eaten Indian food in Thailand.

Lots more FLs hanging around and they seem to come in all shapes and sizes. There were young African girls too. I even heard some Tagalog being spoken. Over the years, this area has become more Indian and Arab. Indians now have money and they spend just like everyone else. Joking aside, that is a most strange question on this forum.
I have all respect for the "working girls" in Thailand and elsewhere, but I'd never think of making one of them my wife. Most of the forum members here will warn you not to fall in the trap of taking a bargirl as your long term girlfriend. The odds of having a long and happy marriage are really against you.
For many working girls, their family comes first. In many cases that is even the main reason they do what they do. So if you take them out of that life, you have taken away their main source of income and your wallet is now the replacement source.
Given that the majority of the bar girls did not finish their PhD, it seems that the notion of "saving" and "compound interest" is not part of their skill set. In other words, they will live happily from your money until the money is gone and they look at other sources of income.
Of course if you are looking outside of the world of bar girls c.s. for a wife, then it will be more or less the same in Thailand to find one than it is to find one elsewhere and matters such as "love", "mutual understanding and respect", "overlapping spheres of interest" and such will enter the equation. Presuming you are not angling for one of the bar girls, you can get on to one of the dating websites and invest a whole lot of time and energy in finding your match. Surely you know how to do this part. It is easier in neighboring Vietnam where you have match making agencies catering to needs such as yours. Though in the past few years there has been a crackdown on such activities, it is still quite rampant.
Of course this route largely caters to those middle aged or elderly gents from Singapore, Hong Kong or China who prefer to 'buy' a wife rather than woo one.

Okay Garuda appears on Bangkok Bank and some other buildings. Its seems common to Hindu and Buddhist religion. So what? Some may not see this as greatly relevant. Everyone knows the Buddha was born in India, and that Sankrit is the parent language for many Thai words.
However some people maybe be looking for more modern parallels.
Personally, I haven't been to India, so I fail to be able to see great parallels in relevant parts of the culture to a tourist. I just would not know or really care too much. I have been to Indian restaurants. LOL They don't strike me as particularly like Thai, other than rice, curries and roti. LOL.

Okay Garuda appears on Bangkok Bank and some other buildings. Its seems common to Hindu and Buddhist religion. So what? Some may not see this as greatly relevant. Everyone knows the Buddha was born in India, and that Sankrit is the parent language for many Thai words.
However some people maybe be looking for more modern parallels.

Bangkok is the bigger city, so there are probably more options, but they might be more spread out. Probably this means there's a bigger price range. I would guess there are more options with non-Thais in Bangkok. Probably more women from China, Vietnam, Phillipines, etc.
Pattaya is the beach resort city and is primarily a mongering destination. Maybe this means there is a more concentrated selection and the active areas are closer together.
I would suggest, that if you like to dress up, hit nice clubs, eat at fancy restaurants then Bangkok might be the better choice. If you prefer to go casual, maybe a little more laid back slower pace, them Pattaya might be preferred.
Once again, this is guesswork on my part, I've never been to either place.

Spend first 24 hours or so In Bangkok and sample a few things. Then go to Pattaya and stay there till you are bored with it. Then return to Bangkok. If you never get bored with Pattaya, then don't come back except to the airport.
Read the forum as far back as possible to get ideas where to try.
Keep flexible. Plans should never be locked in. You might find something you can't stand to go away from.
The way customers are treated varies. I am a Crazy House regular. I never pay for ST or LT in advance. I rarely deal with mamasans at all. I speak good Thai so don't need them. The fat manasan was fired and now works at Mercury bar in Nana. The newest mamasan mid sized is considered to be better character.
Every drink price is written in the paper. Easy to keep track of how many you had. As each drink is same price math is easy. Example 2 drinks 160 Baht and 2 drinks 170 Baht. There are only two different prices I encounter. Count how many of each. Multiply and add together. 660 Baht. I know my bill price. I don't get cheated.
One day I left in hurry. Forget to get my change of 300 Baht. Next time I attended, my special waitress had the 300 Baht change waiting for me. I knew nothing about it. She looks after me and I look after her.
I understand ithers have problems at this bar. I don't. My worst problem is volume of the music too high at times. I don't let girls come to me unless I call them.
If I call a girl to me I have to buy her a drink. The entertainment has to be paid for in some way. It's not free. Drinks are therefore not real cheap naturally. My Coke Light can can last quite a while though, ir a soda.

I decided to try a Nara massage at Dr. BJ. So I wandered down Soi 7 and checked out the action. A couple of small LB bars on the right and a couple of regulars on the left. Pattaya has the more options, as far as mongering is considered. There is simply no comparison, except in the segment of the Hi-so G-clubs ("Gentlemen's Clubs") but those do not really cater for a farang clientele anyhow.
Personally, I favour Bangkok over Pattaya because it offers me a better mix of mongering and non-mongering things, but that is beyond the scope of this forum.

Mid afternoon today Can Cam massage had only 3 girls available. Steady flow of customers so I assume a few girls were busy. On a quiet day they have had 10 girls available.

There are very few 'other options' with non-Thais if your planning on taking them back to your hotel room. Most hotels want to see the ladies ID and the girls from other countries can't get past reception since they usually don't have a Thai ID card. Not sure what might happen if you picked up a Russian girl and took her to your hotel. Basically you travel to Thailand to see Thai ladies, you travel to China to see Chinese ladies, you travel to PI to see Pinya's and you travel to Macau for a variety of talent. 1. Someone who also has never been there, but understands a little about demographics, giving some basic thoughts about the 2 cities.
Or.
2. Several people who have experience in both places telling number 1 to shut up and stop talking.
Do you see anyone else on this forum even attempting to be helpful? Other than Syzygies telling him to try both places and then decide, no one has tried to give some insight. No one has even bothered to ask some basic questions, such as: Age, Previous mongering experience, knowledge of the language, budget, but everyone has the time to jump on me for making an attemp to help.
Is it any wonder most of the threads are the same small group of guys giving the same reports? Why would anyone, after reading a bit of the forum, even attempt to ask a question? The best they can hope for is a minor insult and a "RTFF".
I would not say it is in the heart of Chinatown but near enough. Couple of Sundays back I took a rather lengthy walk from soi 4, Nana to Matri chit where all the street walkers are gathered for your business. It was rather early in the morning and I wanted to sweat out all the beer from the previous day. By the time I reached Matri chit I had worked up a good sweat and cooled off with a bottle of water. I intended to suss out the area, believing there would be no ladies around early Sunday morning but I was wrong, and delightfully so. There are very few 'other options' with non-Thais if your planning on taking them back to your hotel room. Most hotels want to see the ladies ID and the girls from other countries can't get past reception since they usually don't have a Thai ID card. Not sure what might happen if you picked up a Russian girl and took her to your hotel. Basically you travel to Thailand to see Thai ladies, you travel to China to see Chinese ladies, you travel to PI to see Pinya's and you travel to Macau for a variety of talent. If there's a pattern, it's that they were checking in the Sukhumvit area, but not in the business districts. An exception - I don't think they checked the girls at the J W Marriott and President Park, but then there was a way to get to my rooms in those without walking by the front desk.
Anyway, I'm curious, where are you staying and do they almost always ask for the girls' ID's?
I don't see hotel staff having a problem with a passport in place of a Thai identity card, so wouldn't see a problem taking back a foreigner to your room if your hotel is checking ID. There are quite a few in Mixx and Spasso's, and I don't think they're getting their customers to go to short time hotels.

There is a Soi 7 a couple of minutes' walk along Sukhumvit Road from Soi 7/1 but you won't find Dr. BJ's Salon, Dr. BJ's Nuru Massage, Eden Club, Magic Table or any other such bars there. Soi 7/1 is the soi with a Subway sandwich shop / Sunrise Taco Mexican Grill outlet on the corner where it meets Sukhumvit Road and that is the one you want for those places. Just didn't want to leave that hanging out there to confuse anyone or have them waste a lot of time and energy walking down Soi 7 looking for all the BJ bars and Nuru massage shops on it when there aren't any. Haha.
Regarding Magic Table, I know they have VIP rooms with couches, ottomans and the like more suitable for blowjobs and which I know could be used for FS as well. About Chinatown, this is where taxi and tuk tuk drivers go for a quickie. It's not really value for money because you're paying 500-700 baht for the girl and then another 50-300 baht for the room (depending on how scuzzy you can tolerate) but the whole sorry experience lasts for as long as it takes you to shoot your load into the condom. So let's be generous and say 20 minutes for 600 baht total, compared to 90 minutes for 2100 baht you can get at a teen oil massage shop. As for the 'girls', they're all mums but age and looks vary a lot. Some look 20 ish, others look 60 ish. Some are pretty but be prepared to be grossed out by their stretch marks. You have to pay upfront and the service you get is extremely poor.

When I first came to BKK in 1999 one of the first things I noticed was that decent bread was virtually unobtainable unless you went to a decent Western restaurant, preferably German. I knew that the ingredients and technology were there, but the end product wasn't available. Fast forward a few years, add a bunch more foreigners and more Thai disposable income. Now every mall of any size has at least one doughnut shop and at least one high-end bakery. Visit any one and you won't see farangs streaming out the door with bags of goodies.
So I think that the confluence of the West, more money, and more food have resulted in all the Thais having a bit more avoirdupois than in years past.

You should address your rant to them.I understand, and I tend to address my rants where they are deserved. If the poster had been rude or had asked a specific question that's been answered recently, I understand the RTFF. But that wasn't the case. He asked a very general question, one not easily answered, or found in the forums. What I feel should have happened was a discussion of the pros and cons of each place.
Does it matter if the person never contributes? Every day new people come here, looking for information. Some will never make the trip, some will come once and never return, and a few will become regular visitors, on a first name basis with every FL. But, if they come here and just get "RTFF", why would they bother coming back to share their experiences? Someone will just point out they made a rookie mistake.

I merely indicated a scepticism about girl quality but it has long been known to be an area for very cheap girls along with Sanam Luang as well. Each to there own. For some the price is all important. For me, the quality is all important and I found no quality to my specs in my visits to Chinatown years ago.

Also that bakeries had just total crap that did not resemble a western bakery in any way. I guess they baked with rice flour rather than wheat flour. They obviously did not have any western customers.
Later american style junk food places opened like the donut shops utilising excessively high sugar content. Donuts in my country were quite different.
You can buy cakes that are quite nice in Thailand today. 20 years ago I never found any. Thai style Pizzas are really discusting with lots of tomato sauce and Mayo. So its clear western food has had a very bad influence, although Thai food has always come with a large spoonful of sugar and heavy salt.
Bar girls have recently been getting fatter as crack down on drugs has caused them to eat more food instead. Essentially drugs like Yaa Baa and Ice were weight loss meassures of a very questionable type. Now girls drink Yaa Dong, Tequilas and Coke which don't help the waistline.
Not sure why most of the Oily girls are so fat. I was not doing Oilies until maybe 8 years ago.
In general, a high portion of Thai girls married and with babies are letting themselves go and not looking after their bodies. Husbands leave though and these girls have to become hookers.

Comparing 500-700 with 1000-2000 is not comparing like with like because of the time differences you state. Chinatown girls hang out directly outside ST rooms and could earn more in a night with several customers than a Sukhumvit girl could with a smaller number.

I would not say it is in the heart of Chinatown but near enough. Couple of Sundays back I took a rather lengthy walk from soi 4, Nana to Matri chit where all the street walkers are gathered for your business. It's very well known in Bangkok (among Thais), as is Lumpini Park and Sanam Luang which have similar street walkers for a similar price. But maybe you have some information about that that I would not.

I enter thru Honolulu and there is never a line, maybe 2 ahead so it goes pretty fast. I will say that I don't think that policy was a particular product of the Bush administration. For the past couple of decades, I've noticed that the government (including the military) has started bending over backwards to vocal radical groups, specifically the feminists. It is correct they do not have machines for going through customs (at least I have never seen any), but they have separate Global entry lines, which are shorter (sometimes very substantially) and in sharp contrast to my experiences before I had Global Entry, they (at least in my case) never have asked any questions other than things like "how are you doing" when going through the dedicated Global Entry Customs lines (well once early in the program they asked me where I was returning from, without anything further but they haven't even asked me that the last few years). While they do retain the right to ask substantive questions and/or open your luggage at Customs, it seems they do this much much less with Global Entry members than others.
On the other hand, in Australia, USA Global Entry members get expedited treatment through immigration but not customs, at least based on my experience a few years ago. I have no idea about Germany or the Netherlands.

The Hillary 3 bar on Soi 11 has no color word anywhere on its outside sign as far as I could tell. I have no idea what the word "red" on the Hillary 4 and 2 bars' sign and the word "black" on the Hillary 1 bar's sign is in reference to. Seems like it would have something to do with red and black on a roulette table and wheel? Or perhaps that Stendhal novel? Don't know. Maybe I'll ask one of the managers next time I stop in.

This report is overdue by a week but such is life.
Landed in BKK on Sat afternoon 2:00 pm and took a cab to the city. Being a business trip I was staying at the Shangri-La, a far cry from the more frequented hotels along Sukhumvit. In any major city, and almost any place with lots of tourists, there will be people who take advantage of the tourists. It's only fair. We travel to places like BKK to take advantage of the locals.
Your problems at the Dollhouse should have tipped you off that you may be out of your element. Chances are there's an explanation about the disagreement over the bill. It might not be an explanation you like, or agree with, but it's probably there. Maybe you misunderstood the happy hour special, maybe you were charged wrongly for a drink or a lady drink. In the end it's not a large amount of money.
If you travel alone, especially if you spend your time in the red light districts, you run the risk of being drugged and robbed, or just robbed. Be aware of your surroundings, be in control of your situation and yourself. It only takes a second for someone to drop something in your drink or to pick your pockets. Don't drink to much and don't drink anything that has been out of your sight.
There's also an obvious advantage to staying at a hotel that checks and keeps the girls identification.

I remember a similar thing happening to me once in Maracaibo, it was a Friday night and I had been to the bank that day for my weekend spending money. Tuesday Night:

I have 2 more nights in BKK. A Farewell dinner with M is on for Wednesday (it already occurred) and I am kind of leaving my last night open. Then I head back to Makati for a final fling before heading home. It has been a great trip. I will post more about it later. I want to specifically go into a price comparison between my two favorite bars: CH in BKK and Bottoms Bar in Makati. Both places have great girls and offer up a rowdy atmosphere. It is a tale of two cities. More later.
I have been visiting Thailand almost annually for longer than most and I find this story incredible if not unbelievable.
I frequent the BG on every trip for (I) a morning coffee (not great) and often late in the evening for a beer, (ii) some banter with the ?MILFs? and younger FLs and (iii) a start to a fish dinner opposite (sometimes, for company with an FL before negotiating a night's pleasure if we prove compatible).
The BG is relatively well lit, the customers (FLs) don't change so much that the staff probably know most, it is not pushy crowded, I have never, even late at night, seen a fall down drunk there, tipsy, yes but not incapable.
It would be unfair to say that the situation described is just perpetuating an urban myth but for hustlers to play this trick at the BG when there are plenty of poorly lit less salubrious bars, stretches credulity.
Back in less than a month - and I will look around the BG just to see how it might happen.In my decade and a half tenure I have personally known three guys that were drugged, all by FLs and all at different places. Could it happen at the BG? Certainly, but I would bet not by a gal who is a regular.
I have been to the BG a few times. Sat in there and had their hamburger a number of times. Gone to my hotel with a girl a few times after my hamburger. Never even a slightly aggressive girl there. Seems like most girls are regulars there and know each other and would not jeopardize their "office" nor let some scam happen there.
Something may have happened to him but I certainly don't believe it was at BG.

This report is overdue by a week but such is life.
Landed in BKK on Sat afternoon 2:00 pm and took a cab to the city. Being a business trip I was staying at the Shangri-La, a far cry from the more frequented hotels along Sukhumvit.
After half a day of work on Tuesday, I got my flight out of BKK and that ends my brief visit. Thanks for reading. IMHO social media is the game changer, specially if you go after the non-pro / semi-pro girls. They are way more fun. My first night (2 October) on Soi cowboy went good.
After the happy hours (so about 9 pm) I walked to Soi 7 so I surely was not drunk.
At the Beergarden there was life music.
I sat on the first row of sits at the bar.
I ordered one beer. All fine.
One girl was sitting on my left and another girl game riding with her back to my trousers.
I ordered my second beer.
Next moment it was 9 am and I was in my hotel. With no memories but with empty pockets.
So I was drugged in the middle of a crowded Beergarden.
My advice is if you travel alone; go only to places where the girls belong to the bar (that's gogo bars) or drink only beer what is opened before you're face..As I reported here recently, I spent 3 evenings at BG, picked up as many girls, excellent service every time, including "self-proposed" BBBJ and CIM as it was "evident". The whole for 1200 Baht! Went also to soapies and later on to Macau's famous and irrealistically expensive saunas; as a whole, in all honesty, the very cheapest, BG, was by far (and even very far) the best! Of course depends what you are looking for. I prefer GFE to PSE and BG provides this unique opportunity to meet them, discuss, go / no go for hours if you want, without the least hassle. Great place!
Have a question about taking the train from the airport. Has anyone tried taking the train from the airport and exiting at the Makassan station, then catching a cab down Sukhumvit 3 to your hotel? The usual route is to take the train to Phaya Thai station, transfer at Siam and then exit at one of the bts stops on Suk. Just curious if anyone's ever tried getting off at the Makassan station? Can you catch a cab there?

As a rule I never drink anything that has not been opened in front of me. I never accept drinks from strangers, no matter how hot.Practically impossible to live by this rule at any bar where the waitress brings you a drink that's been opened at the bar. And asking the waitress not to open the beer will be hard to convey.
Im betting the girl sitting next to the guy slipped something into his beer while the other girl came up to him from behind.

I have not personally used a taxi from there, but have gotten off there and taken the MRT to Suk when staying at Asoke.

Can you catch a cab there?Cabs, yes, although there'll be a lot of backtracking if you pick up a cab on the wrong side of Makassan station -- the side where incoming passengers are dropped off. Exiting the station, you'll have to hike a bit -- follow the crowd -- and pick up a cab to Sukhumvit on the side of the street going the direction you need to go.

There is a taxi drop off and pickup point. I think it's second floor as I recall. Done this a few times and had no problems. Is on the north side of the station.

Once it takes effect it's easy to lead the victim back to their hotel or to 3 or 4 ATMs. You won't remember that you already hit another machine for a withdrawal. Depending on hotel policies and security, they either walk you back to your hotel and let you find your own way to your room, or take you to the room and take anything else of value.
I believe what he was trying to describe was one girl sitting beside him and the other in front of him, rubbing her ass on his crotch, an excellent position to drop something in the drink.

Of course, I had my social media fired up and before my food could arrive I had a couple of hits. A cute 23 yo named Dao was apparently just 100 m away and offered to come over in 10 minutes. No commitments. So while I was wrestling with the crab Dao showed up in a white linen top and blue jeans with beige boots. Something like out of a bad western. So while Dao had a lemon ice tea and devoured the food we got to know each other better. Dao worked at the Pullman and had just off her shift. She is in housekeeping. A bit more time spent on talking and I invited her to join me for a drink in my hotel. She readily agreed. Back in the room after a couple of large pegs of Dalmore 15 yo we both got busy. An absolute firecracker, easily 8/10. Taut, lithe body, almost athletic. Be-cups, clean shaven below. Fucked like rabbits for the next 2 hours and I got off twice. By 8 pm Dao wanted to leave. I asked her to stay but she had to get to her shift by 2:00 am. I gave her THB 2000 as goodwill money and added her on Line. A good start to the day.
