This post may go down as one of the top most boring posts in recent memory but here goes!
I'll be visiting BKK soon and wanted to know if there are any non-pro bars that are decent to go and meet Thai women? {Snip}
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as it would be nice to have some alternative places to go.

May I ask regarding the body type of these African providers please?
I'm into the odd black beauty however I have only spotted big bad mamma jammers in BKK.As my name suggests I am into Thai women. I have noticed that some of the black women are very sexy. Chocolate, a bad character girl, has returned after a baby, now has big silicones, and a Caesar scar. Definitely to be avoided. At least 6 regular better looking girls that I know were simply not there (at that time). Sharks line up was better.
The bar opposite Cowboy 2 is not likely to be Doll House. Doll House is opposite Suzie Wong roughly. I would say Lighthouse should be directly opposite Cowboy 2 in the middle of the Soi. It used be my favourite bar when it was called Sheba.

She would already know I hold her in contempt. She even does not care if seen with her Thai boy that she probably supports. I don't give a rats arse what she thinks of me.
Look, Crazy House has some worthwhile girls, but she is not one of them.
For the record, Chocolate loves to flit from customer to customer, moving on as soon as she manages to get a drink out of them. That is part of the bad behaviour. This makes some guys very angry. I am relatively cool about it. It would be just one drink. Some guys get tricked into buying two drinks for girls though. Haven't been here for about ten years so I did my research. (I've got two more nights than I'm heading to the US).
Arrived 9 PM on Thursday night. Cleaned up and went to Wood Bar near Nana. Picked a cute young girl. She wore black and was $1000 baht. RL.Agree. Money talks, bullshit walks. Unfortunately for blacks and Indians, you have to get over their prejudice. In every corner of this world there are always women who are turned on by men of different races. You will know right away if you have one of those. But for the most part, you are going to have to be patient, but some drinks and have the girl get to know you a bit better. Bottom line, you will have to spend a bit more time and money. The girls also tend to quote a higher price for Indians and blacks.

By the way, Tripadvisor long ago ceased to be a reliable source of information. It is riddled with self promotion reviews and toxic reviews for commercial reasons. I am a big traveller and I don't even have Tripadvisor bookmarked anymore, it's too conflicted.

I am also a "big traveller" (for mostly work), and I always check out a range of reviews in TA on any one place I intend to visit and I can usually sort out the genuine reviews from the toxic or self-promoting ones.
IMHO, if there are a preponderance of negative reviews then that is a red flag, but a good mix of positive and some negative is also a good guide. I have a group of friends and we regularly post bonafide reviews of all places that we visit.

Its part of the charm of the place and you can easily get kicked out of there for what can seemingly be nothing at all. The place most commonly attracts some rough people. It is, after all, a late, late night establishment and its common to witness some belligerent a-holes doing something disrespectful to a patron or a bar hand. I think years and years of dealing with this has made the owner a bit testy.

Always go ST unless repeating (and no guarantees here either) I always demand min 2 hrs min 2 pops. I always offer base price plus tip if good performance and I do honour my agreed incentives tips. I also offer them to stay if they wish (some do, some don't) but no more money will be exchanged, I make that quite clear. And I say we will be sleeping. My usual is to kick them out. I prefer to sleep alone. This MO allows you to control the situation, as the point was made not overpay for poor performance, gives you the option to extend or pay more if you wish and every so often they stay and you get a pleasant surprise next morning which I may reward but not at "usual" FT rate. This is my MO everywhere I monger. I get very few knock backs. I must say I am eager to go black too but the standard in Thailand is well below what will get me hard.

I do not remember reading any in this forum. That should tell you something.

I have heard rumors while in Bkk that the AWG's will rip you off in a New York minute. They are from a very difficult life and are controlled by some group that keep tight lines on each lady and that have demands that the ladies must answer too.
I witnessed 2 AWG's fighting in the morning around Soi7/1 below Nana bts. A Black man was the boss and he let them fight. The Thai police just watched and did nothing.

Understand that it will differ from area to area and bars. Any help and ranges would be appreciated. Will be staying around Nana Plaza and will also visit soi Cowboy. Regards.
Last night, around 10.30 pm, I was passing by Lumpini park on Wireless road. Saw at least 10 to 15 streetwalkers along the park's fence trying to drum up business. Today, as my taxi was driving me to the airport, we passed by a number of small massage saloons very close to Shangri La hotel. The girls were smiling and looked nice. Not top models, but simple nice girls. I will go to explore this area next time. The experience will be probably cheaper and nicer! Hit Nana Plaza last night.
First stop of course was Rainbow 4. It was quite disappointing talent wise compared to Pattaya but I still picked 3 girls in one of the groups worth of a drink. I haven't been to Thailand for long time, but as American with Indian heritage (dark skin), people was very nice to me maby because I'm American or cute kid LOL taking me away from my mom to play with me, LOL good childhood.
But from my travels what I found out is that when it's more than one Indian (group of Indians) it becomes intimidating and not understanding personal space or respect. Not saying all Indians are like that, but usually the case, either stereotype and trying to be very cheap or pushy.
My 2 cents to fellow Indians, dont complain about pricing (tip well), be well reserved and respect the girl regardless of her job (treat her like a princess) , don't be a perv and pushy / demanding. Thursday day 1.
Arrived at out hotel about 2 pm and my wingman is still sick. We are staying at Omni Towers Soi 4 Sukhumvit. We have a short walk to Nana Mall and have lunch and change money. From my perspective Indians seem despised because they are seen as generally argumentative, which is true, they are generally stingy, which is true, they have cultural norms that are different to Westerners and east and south east asians, which is true and they Have dark skin. There are many cultures that have exactly the same first three features. I could argue southern Europeans from Greece and eastern European are the same. However they are fair skinned so it is tolerated. I could argue that Chinese also have some of those features. Perhaps they are less stingy.
Come to Australia, the Chinese from mainland China are generally detested for being, wait for it, cheap, argumentative, different and buy all our property. Their only advantage is their fair skin and sexually loose women who dominate the sex industry and are seen as more desirable than fat white women.
The Indian taxi drivers here are seen as, wait for it, stingy, argumentative, different and have dark skin. They do not have desirable daughters, at least in the eyes of the locals.
I could go on. My point is, it's prejudice no matter what we think. It's inherent in Asia as the rest of the world. Most Indians are decent hard working people, but then remember the wasps of America and the west, many of whom dominate this board, a few generations ago were beating up Irish folk. Being decent isn't going to stop prejudice. Indians of dark skin probably face it more than light skinned Indians.
My final humorous point. I believe we are all racist in one way or another as we all greedy and selfish in some shape or form. Some of us fight against these base instincts while others happily marginalize people based on skin tones and other ethnic differences.
That said it has to be accepted as a reality that particular nationals do not always fit well into new environments and locals vis a vis their own culture find them difficult to deal with.
It is not up to the locals to change their values to accommodate these differences. It is up to the visitors to acquaint themselves with and respect local customs and norms by changing their behavior. Those that don't should be shamed and ignored.
Not everybody from these countries behaves badly but unfortunately a lot do which sadly tarnishes all of them. I try to treat all individuals irrespective of color or creed with respect until I find he or she doesn't deserve that respect and believe me I have met just as many white dickheads as brown dickheads.

From my perspective Indians seem despised because they are seen as generally argumentative, which is true, they are generally stingy, which is true, they have cultural norms that are different to Westerners and east and south east asians, which is true and they Have dark skin. There are many cultures that have exactly the same first three features. I could argue southern Europeans from Greece and eastern European are the same. However they are fair skinned so it is tolerated. I could argue that Chinese also have some of those features. Perhaps they are less stingy..What a wonderfully written piece. This should be a sticky. Lets blame the cheap airline fares and the super cheap rooms that allow 4 guys to a room. But the dominant business model is very much what Appcer999 described; the soi is lined with scammer girls standing outside the bars that hired an agency to send them there to do nothing but make tourists think if they allow themselves to be dragged inside the bar and buy them Lady Drinks they might be able to take them away from the bar and have sex with them. Nope. That isn't what they were hired to do by the agency that employs them. Sure, everything and everyone has a price. Someone could come up with a number that all concerned would bow down and accept. But even then the girl does not fancy herself to be a hooker and the sex, if that's what it could be called, is likely to be dreadful.
Meanwhile, as you say, there are genuine go-go dancer P4 P girls in some of the bars. But the newbie can waste a lot of time and money on the more tempting scams before he gets to the real thing.
I just don't see that there is a Nana Plaza counterpart to that level of scam business model.
And I think that in large part is because of the location of each area. Soi Cowboy is easily visible from the most heavily trafficked intersection in Bangkok, Sukhumvit and Asok, also where the Skytrain and the Subway intersect. It can be spotted from the bts Skytrain platform. Naturally, it will lure newbies, tourists and the curious like no other go-go bar location in the City. The dominant business model is to hustle and scam as many transient tourists as possible as quickly as possible with little chance of having to engage with a disgruntled return customer tomorrow.
By contrast, you need to already know where Nana Plaza is in order to find it. You wouldn't stumble upon it on your way from one shopping mall to another. Yes, if you are sitting on a particular side of a bts train car as it passes Soi 4 at night, you might catch a glimpse of a few neon lit bars over there and walk back from the next station to check it out. But it is not a collection of bars that can count on catering to the one-time-only tourist who is practically asking to be fleeced as he passes through once. Nana Plaza relies much more on repeat customers in the know about Bkk's P4 P industry and expat customers. They can't get away with the scams Soi Coyboy does and stay in business long.
Late Edit: btw, the fact that there are many more freelancers strolling around the Nana Plaza area is more evidence that it is an area that caters more to the expat or experienced returning customer. Newbie tourists are far less likely to walk off with a freelancer they've met in the streets of Bkk to check into a short time room or back to their hotel room. But more experienced customers of Bkk's P4P scene are far more comfortable with the idea.
