Anyone else have a mental hangup where if they see a bargirl they like being taken out by a guy, or even just being groped up by a guy, especially if the guy is kind of gross, then they can't really be attracted to the girl anymore?

Believe it or not, but in all the brothels that I know (most of them are located in I-San) in this country, girls are far than being slaves and can also refuse to go with some customers (for instance, some of them are afraid by Westerners and won't go with them and nobody will force them to do that).

ThanksMy friend suggested Royal Asia Lodge on Soi 8. Very good location, a bit far from the main street but there is free tuktuk ride. I think it is 1000 a night. I visited him there, the room was small but nice. Good big fridge and in room safety box.

It takes less than 5 minutes by walk to go to this hotel from Asoke BTS station.
I usually go to Soi Cowboy (less than 10 minutes, walking slowly) and even to NEP by walk (probably around 20-25 minutes, walking at my usual pace) from this hotel, but I reckon that I enjoy walking more than the average Joe.

If the guy before me is in the bar when I pick up a ST girl then he will have that same feeling. It takes less than 5 minutes by walk to go to this hotel from Asoke BTS station.
I usually go to Soi Cowboy (less than 10 minutes, walking slowly) and even to NEP by walk (probably around 20-25 minutes, walking at my usual pace) from this hotel, but I reckon that I enjoy walking more than the average Joe.

Honey Hotel is basically right across the street from the SilQ hotel, perhaps 20 meters further down the street. Maybe 100 meters further from Sukhumvit than the Key and the Grottino.

I don't think so, but never asked nor had the need so far... Don't forget that it's just a correct, but basic hotel. Good value for me in this area, but I just use my hotel room for having sex (a lot) and sleeping (a bit) when I'm in Bangkok, not for working... :D

I also stay at the Honey Hotel. The 800 baht rooms you mentioned, when you say "ground floor" I think those must be the rooms that are outside with doors opening onto the parking garage, correct? I've stayed in one of those before. I have to say the rooms upstairs are much nicer. Have they renovated all the rooms yet? Last time I was there, the rooms in the main hotel (upstairs) on one side (can't remember if it was the inside rooms or outside) had been renovated and were great, while others were looking like they hadn't had anything changed since 1983 -- pretty worn out. The rooms you mention for 1000baht, where are those exactly? Ground floor again or inside the main building. One thing I'll say: soi 19 much more convenient than soi 22. And that's a real nice diner type restaurant to have your free breakfast in and read the newspaper. It really fills up at lunchtime too, popular with the office worker locals.

The cheap rooms used to be very small indeed. Bigger than a dog kennel but I would suggest take the higher class room is a good idea. Things could have changed as I didn't stay there a long time now.
I think Silq is a better idea (although has no pool) if can afford it.

In my first post about Honey Hotel, I was answering to a guy who was looking for a room in the 700 to 900 baht price range. That's why I mentioned the 800 baht rooms available at the Honey Hotel, but as far as I am concerned, I usually stay on the second floor (or the third floor, if you consider that the ground level is the "first" floor) of the main building in a "Single Deluxe" room, and the price for these rooms with refrigerator is 1000 baht per night. Never tried nor visited the cheaper rooms myself there so far (but a few friends of mine did in the past and I think that you are right about the location and size of these rooms if I remember correctly what my friends said about them).
Rooms on the second floor (or third, again, depending on what is the "first" floor for you) were renovated three years ago, if I am not mistaken.
And yes, the restaurant is good value too (especially if you like Thai cuisine: the meals are tasty and not expensive here).

The only thing that worries me are several reports on Tripadvisor site that something had been stolen there from their rooms, probably by the staff. Some of those reports were old so I guess the staff might have changed and the problem solved, who knows.
I was last month staying in Citadines soi 11 but I think their 2000 baht a night was a little too much for the small room.

First of all, this report is from a very subjective kind of view. I'm sure that one can have a lot of fun in Bangkok. But not me.
It must be one of the ugliest city in the world. Though I haven't been to Mogadishu, Addis Abeba or Ulan Bathor yet, I'm sure Bangkok can compete with any of those.
I stayed at the Grand Millenium which is highly recommend. It's an upscale place to a reasonable price. The rooms are awesome and just a few hundred meters away from Soi Cowboy and Sukhumvit / Asoke station. If you want a quiet room, ask for one with the endings. 06.. 12. The others are heading to busy Asoke Road and are very noisy all night even on the higher floors
I went to the usual spots (Nana, Soi Cowboy, Patpong) crowded with drunk tourists and mostly ugly girls (or ladyboys) and of course all were "my friends" because I'm such a "handsome man". This combined with the awful music clanging out of every joint made it a torture to stroll around.
After realizing this is not my cup of tea I thought I'd give one of the world famous massage parlours a try.
I decided my first MP experience should be at Poseidon.
Arriving on a Saturday at 8pm 20 fishes were swimming in the aquarium but nothing worth putting out the angling rod. Went up to the 2nd floor, the so-called "model area". Lots of girls here, but unfortunately no models at all.
Mamasan introduced 6-7 girls but only one was an appealing 7 (I'm actually a little picky).
When I followed my newfound mid20s girlfriend Ben to the elevator, a real stunner came along. Damn, I should have waited just a little longer.

I did stay in a garage room once -- it was ok but pretty cramped and for the 200 baht more per night, the rooms upstairs are a much better deal. There's something not right about entering your room through a garage, and inside it has a makeshift feel to it mainly due to the size.
I have to say, I've always told myself "this time I'm gonna try the pool" but "this time" has never come and I've stayed at Honey probably 10 times by now. It's a pretty small pool.

Hi, sorry to bother you guys again but I am getting different information from all my searches.
Some of the posts said that you can open an account in Bangkok, you just need to bring your passport, your hotel address and pay 300bt for the ATM.
Others are saying that you would need a 1 year visa in order to open an account.
Then more members are saying that it depends on the bank
Can someone here confirm whether you can or can not open an account?
If possible, I would like to find a big bank that have more ATM machines spread out in Thailand.
2nd question, How much would the total be in BJ bars? I know that you would pay the girls usually 700B, but there are different opinion on the 300B to the bar. Some are saying that you would need to pay that if you go to a private room, others are saying that you would pay the 300 even if you sit on the couch. Would like to clear this up if possible.
If someone can tell me if this is the same for My friend U bar in Pattaya, I would really appreciate it since it would save me a post in the Pattaya section.
I have opened a savings account at Kasikorn (2) and at Krung Thai (2) with just a tourist visa, passport and address. Two of them in NE Thailand and the other two in branches within the Exchange Tower at Asoke. And yes it can depend on the bank and its manager or the mood of the day. Just walk to another branch and give it a go.

Do not stay at the honey hotel. i had an expensive ring stolen from my room when I stayed there for a few nights.
I never ever have had anything stolen at the Honey Hotel (in fact, not at any hotel in Thailand actually), but it's true that I also don't leave any valuable item clearly visible in the room (it's either locked in one of my bags, or in the safe).

You can open a Kasikorn account with nothing more then cash... They never asked for anything more then my Passport and how much I was going to deposit.
Well in truth they did ask for my address and I gave them one but they never checked it, they never checked for a visa or work permit or anything. They asked for my mobile number and that was it.....
TMB is more difficult to open an account at.
What's with my reports never showing up in the thread? I've had several, including one where I reviewed all the freelancer spots, not show up after going through.

But some of the people had no problem opening up an account with just passport and cash while others were turned away. I am going to try my luck in Mar.
If I am able to open up an account at Kasikorn Bank, do you know if their ATM will work with other banks or do I have to find a Kasikorn ATM. If so, can someone tell me if their ATM are easily found in Thailand? Thanks

Let me repeat... I never showed Kasikorn any documentation other then some foreign currency and my passport.
Location of their ATM's... you are going where? Their ATM's are about every 50 feet it seems like in Bangkok and Pattaya and other locations... they are in Isaan all over as well. K bank you can do internet banking and other things pretty easy as well.
Where are you going? PM me I know of a few locations that are easy to open up account with, when are you there as I will be around in Mar also... let me know and I'll see if I can assist if I am in town but really you walk in passport and cash and they open up for you. TMB as I said is much more difficult so don't attempt to open there.. not sure about the rest. I only have the two.

You definitely should go for Kasikorn, they're the most Farang-friendly bank in my opinion. I have an account at Siam Commercial too and it's a whole different story, higher commissions, bad service, stupid requirements, they wanted to see my work permit to open it but later when I wanted to get a new card suddenly the work permit was not considered official enough :) With Kasikorn I once got a new ATM card in a different city than where I live just by showing my European ID card (and being very nice of course).
You'll be able to use almost all ATMs across Thailand with a Kasikorn card and Kasikorn ATMs are everywhere anyway.

I was turned down by 5-6 banks in Bangkok when I tried to open an account. All of them asked for a work permit.
I then changed my strategy. The very next bank I tired (Bank of Bangkok. Who previously turned me down) welcomed me with open arms when I told them I was on an Education Visa. Didn't ask for squat other than $$$ and my passport.
I even got the phone number and a date with the hot teller who helped me open the account.
So. My advice is twofold: (1) say you're in Thailand on an Education Visa and (2) flirt with the bank chickie.
And I will hopefully be banging the shit out of that teller this weekend.

Myself and a friend didn't have any problems at Bangkok Bank in Rachatewi either, with a tourist visa and some baht. They needed a mailing address for the occasional bit of snail-mailed info (in Thai so not really needed) and a mobile phone number.
Not that I'm necessarily recommending that bank.

Arrived back in BKK on November 10 and checked into a suite at the Grand President on Soi 11. Nice suite with one bedroom, large livingroom, bar, small kitchen which included a washer and dryer.

In summary, the horror story is that a waitress at Climax took a fancy to me, and the feeling is not mutual. So this makes for a weird situation - can I or can I not return to Climax? Details below.
Sunday (last Sunday, not yesterday) at Climax was popping - lots of people, plenty of good looking girls, a genuine vibe going on. I went back for seconds on Monday night. Got in around 12:45am, and the place was noticeably slower. I mean, you could walk straight through to the back without having to nudge anyone out of your way, there were empty tables in the back, and the waiters/waitresses were standing around in bunches shooting the shit (for lack of customers). Monday is not a particularly good night to go to Climax, although I have to say there was still plenty of talent available.
My routine is usually to walk in through the doors, stop for 10 seconds and let the room acknowledge me, then slowly walk through the crowd, walking through the channel between the DJs booth and the stage. As I walk, I make sure to look at every thing that is below eye-level (anything above eye level is probably one of your hairy faces). I look and evaluate: is she really worth circling back for? Or is she in the 'perhaps' category? I rarely get a hit on this first pass, since the ones that stand in this walking corridor are usually those that need the most exposure. The real gems are hidden away in the pockets of the club, huddling with their friends, like gazelles on the Savannah (my second Africa reference?). I look nonetheless, since one may have strayed from its group and you could catch it while it is alone - a most unusual circumstance, but it never hurts to plan for it.
Once I get to the right-hand-bend that takes you around the other side of the DJs booth to the back of the club, I pause there, in this most-highly visible spot. This is Grand Central Station (or for you Los Angelenos, where the 10 meets the 5) for Climax - it's where you can get the most exposure as the most eyes are on you at that point. I have been picked up by girls several times right in that spot. It is such a powerful spot that I am careful in how I use it. If you go and plant yourself there, you may be viewed just as I view the urchins that plant themselves near the door - they need the exposure. So as to not seem desperate, I stand there for (at most) five minutes, often playing with my phone or doing something else to seem nonchalant (this is exactly where I played Ben Hur the other night).
Once I have gotten my dose of being seen (and hopefully admired by one or two), I turn and caste my gaze upon the thousands of eyeballs in the dark. This is a very stressful moment for me - you can see the outline of perhaps 50-60 people all facing you (and you assume scrutinizing you), and you can see the glare of the light on their eyeballs, but that's all you can see. So you don't know who they are, what their expressions are, or even if they are looking right at you. It's quite disconcerting. So I usually walk briskly through this part of the club right to the back and take a right turn behind the DJs booth. I often stop here for a moment, just to catch my breath after having run the gauntlet, and look around a little. The lighting is much better here and you can actually see faces. Also, you are behind everyone, and so you can see them all quite well. You have a view of the stage, as well as the entrance, and a good many other places. The crowd back here is often older and more worn, so it usually ain't a great place to hunt. But it's a great place to rest and feel secure.
Monday I was feeling a little vulnerable, not sure why, so I lingered back there, falsely believing that the security of this place would be my protector for the night. There was an empty table right there at the corner, so I sat down, and up popped a little waitress to take my ticket. 60 seconds later my drink arrived, and I set about nursing my vulnerability with some refreshing soda (no alcohol for me on this night). I got a text from a friend, so I pulled out my phone and started to fumble.
I looked up for just a moment, and in that very moment, I caught the eyes of someone walking past me at an angle. Her eyes were magnetic, very, very charming, and she stopped dead in her tracks - I mean, it was like she hit a brick wall the very second our eyes met. She had sexy eyes, a very sexy hair cut (straight, well cut, streaks down across her face). When she smiled, to my surprise, I saw braces...hmm, not a terribly common occurrence in these parts. And I, stupidly but instinctively, smiled back. She giggled and walked on. Only then, with utter horror and disbelief, did I realize just how frikkin stupid I had been. It turns out, she is a waitress at Climax - I just didn't recognize her outfit until after she had left.
So 3 minutes later, I see her spying at me from around someone else. I tried to ignore her. A few minutes after that, she walks past me and gives me the 'You're Mine' look. Ugh. And a few minutes later, a hostess (dressed in those hot pink dresses) walks up to me and says to me:
'She laaayg you'.
'Umm, sorry?'
'She laaaaayg yoooouu.'
'Oh, she likes me. That's nice.'
'You laayg her?'
'Umm, I don't actually know her, so it's hard for me to-'
'Good, she laayg you wery much. She good girl.'
She turns around and motions the girl over to us. And along she comes, smiling like a cat that has just found a mouse to play with. She holds out her hand and says 'You wery handsummmm man.'
'Oh, well, thank you but-'
'I see you look to me, you laayg me?'
'Umm, I... but-'
'Good, my name xxxx.'
Thereupon we started the regular small talk (where you from, you here for business or holiday, you like Thailand, when you go back, etc.). This lasted an agonizing 10 minutes, at the end of which she grabbed my phone and entered her phone number, called it, and said 'there, now you have my number.'
So I made up a story about how my friend is on the other side of the club, let me go look for him. I scamper outta there to the other corner of the club and hide in a mass of people. 10 minutes pass and I begin to feel more comfortable. I look around and see loads and loads of good looking girls. Not all of them are my type (most are skinny little things - I prefer just a little bit of meat with my veggies, thanks very much). But nonetheless, things are looking reasonable at this point.
Then I get a yank on my sleeve - it's HER! She found me! 'Where you fend?'
'Umm, he, umm, I think, umm, well, see, it's like this-'
'Ok, you come back, we talk, ok?'
'Umm, no, not ok, I will wait here for my friend, I will come back there soon, ok?'
She agrees and walks away. I suddenly had a vision, a flash of the future. My mind's eye was floating over the dance floor at Climax looking down at a sea of black-haired little heads, all bobbing in an uncoordinated arhythmic mass. But there was a gap in the crowd, and as my mind's eye closed in, I saw that it was a body. I closed in further, and in a somewhat unsurprising twist, I saw the body was my own. I was lying there in the classic 'fell from high building pose': lying on my back, hands to the side, head turned to the left, and right leg crooked backwards at the knee. As I watched my rotting carcass, I realized I needed to do something to avoid this fate of mine.
So I booked it outta there. I pushed my way through the crowd, stepping on some feet on the way, breathing desperately, looking over my shoulder at every turn, wondering if she would leap out at me and scream 'You LAAAAAAYYYYYGGGGG MEEEEEEE!' I got to the door, and as I opened it, that same hostess who had so kindly hooked me up with this waitress girl was standing there. 'Where you go? xxxx is looking for you.'
'Oh really? I looked for her and could not see her. Say goodbye for me, wouldja?'
And off I ran.
So what does this mean? Is Climax off limits to me now? Well, I don't think so. The next day, as I am getting it on with a really cute girl I met here in August, this waitress calls me. I ignore it, of course. She then texts me, which I also ignore.
Then later in the evening, when my load had been blown and I could think more clearly, I texted her back and told her that it is not going to work. It's now been more than 24 hours since that text, no response, which I assume means she got the message.
UPDATE: Since writing this report, it has been more than a week, and as you will see in subsequent reports, the horror story has managed to resolve itself. Basically, I ignored her and she got the message. Now she comes by and squeezes my arm and blows air kisses to me sometimes, but nothing more than that. Still pretty annoying, but at least it is not a full-on stalking case. And it does not get in the way of my hunting activities, which is most important.

Almost ANY pharmacy will sell the Kamagra 100mg 4 pack for 400 baht (some might be less). The real generic Kamagra is cheap enough that real pharmacies don't have any reason to sell bogus stuff. Personally, I found a place in Pattaya on 2nd road on soi 1 across the street from Big C that sold the 4 pack for 300 baht and I bought 3 of 'em. Since a half tab lasts me a day, that was a 24 day supply and I still have one of the 4-packs left. I wish I'd bought more because Kamagra's not available in the US except from sketchy illegal mail order operations out of Mexico.

One was playing a lot of hip-hop :( (Rainbow 4)
Another had a lot of techno/house. (Baccara)
Another had ancient rock and latin :) for oldies like me. (Long Gun)
Another even have some Issan mor-ram (folk dance) late in the evening. (Suzi Wong, Angel Witch)

Some bars I will admit repeat their songs. There was one bar I went to that I could guarantee that I'd hear 10 songs played in the evening. Just drove me nuts. They had a music library of multiple thousands but the mamasan would repeatedly play the same music.

Shut Up is old. Actually "My Humps" is too, and it's the girl singer Fergie's solo single, not the group's. They had a new album out this past year which went straight to top of charts (as theirs usually do). But it's always been like that, when something's hot it gets played to death. I remember days when I thought if I heard "Thriller" one more time I'd puke.
I barely notice what they're playing. Weirdest was once in that one biggish Phuket gogo (includes "rock" in the name) they were playing some old Paul McCartney like Admiral Halsey or something like that. Bizarre.

One of my friends told me to check at Bar Su (1st floor, street level) at the Sheraton.
Went on Wednesday, which is ladies night, so there was a good size crowd there. Ladies are eligible to buy inexpensive wine and champagne by the glass.
The circular bar was filled with women, all going out of their way to smile at you. They won't approach you but the smiles are their invitation to come talk to them.
All the women were very well dressed in sexy dresses and every one I talked to spoke excellent English. I wasn't impressed though. Most of the women were in their 30's and I'd say most of them were 6's and 7's. If not for the nice outfits, I wouldn't even give any of them a second look.
To add insult to injury, all these mediocre, borderline fuck candidates were asking for the moon. One told me 5,000 for ST and the other quoted me 3,000. Fuck that.
I doubt I will ever go again. Tuna fish at caviar prices is not my idea of a good deal.

You could taxi around Sri Nakarin and Thepparak road and look for neon .. there are fancy places and hole in the wall KTVs and at least one fishbowl massage place, on Thepparak. No idea what's still open after 1am. Likely to be much more confusing and unpredictable. Better know some Thai.
Outside Robinson you find all kinds of street walkers, I cannot say for sure if a particular girl from Sheraton bar would indulge, but yes the point you are referring is a pick up point.

I usually select the younger and most attractive girls among the freelancers, and you might also find them in several other "regular" places as they often go dance and party in the clubs too. No premium then as they are exactly the same girls in an other place, but for the occasional freelancers that you may meet in clubs and almost only there, prices are probably a bit higher (I would say between 25 to 50% higher than a "pro" of comparable age and beauty if you have a good chemistry with them, but you would probably have to pay twice the price - or even more - of a "pro" if the occasional P4P girl doesn't really fancy you).
Got a few cute Eastern European girls in the (not too ancient) past for 2000 baht (LT) in Pattaya, but as mentioned earlier, it's not really what I am hunting when I'm in Thailand...

Both songs appear on the same album - Super 3 Cha - great album, great group. They play around Suk every now and then - Climax last year and Hillary Bar a coupe years ago - lot of fun watching the girls really enjoying themselves.
back in thailand after a gap of several years. things that hit me:
getting off the plane at the suvarnabhumi airport, wondered why the a/c wasn't working. when i stepped outside, realized it was - hit with a blast of hot and humid air, and this at midnight. much more than i remember at this time of year. sweating just from pushing a baggage cart. the open, industrial look of the airport might be "style", but certainly leaves a lot of space to cool. preferred don mueang, even with its age.

the benefits of hot and humid everywhere you look: mini's or shorts. nothing like a sea of female legs to make you feel alive. and the thai's certainly know how to dress.
the walk down sukhumvit still almost impossible with all the street stalls. number of middle eastern families in typical "sortie" mode: just about every bmo (black moving object) pushing a baby carriage, followed by an empty handed husband eyeing the street candy, followed by the indonesian maid carrying multiple bags of purchases...
number of fl's a block each side of sukhumvit robinson's - damn, i must be getting older, because they certainly looked younger...
traffic back to the horror it was in the mid-nineties. can't imagine what it would be like without the skytrain.

Some people complain that go-go girls are too expensive.
Some complain that Bar Su are too expensive.
Some complain that Internet girls (escorts) are too expensive.
However, they all target their specified customers.
Bar Su girls target the lazy business man, who does not want to go outside to find a girl, who wants to buy a few drinks in the hotel bar, sign it on his expense account and then take the girl up to his room, minimal hassle. Therefore they can charge anything from 3K to 5K for short time.
Internet Escorts mostly target Muslim business travellers, the ones who cannot be seen to go outside and pick up a girl, so they are limited to phone call booking of escorts, which is why these Escort girls ask for high prices, and get it.
There are many scenes and many reasons why.
I have been going to nana hotel for about the last five years.
Tonight I had some guests over for tea in my room. Actually we were having some fun. It was eight guests and yes one was a bar girl. Not all of the girls were bar girls. Including my wife from the Philippines.
Nana security does take I'd cards from guests to the rooms. So my female guests left their I'd cards with the security desk before going to my room

Does anyone know of any university’s/education centers that are close enough to monger locations yet isolated enough to where the students or school officials would not notice. I have been given the opportunity to set up a summer study abroad program in economics. My employer will pay for me to take two weeks for exploratory set up and then it would be a summer program every year after that. This seems like a great opportunity to combine both work and pleasure while my trip cost and stay would be paid for by my employer. Any information on education centers in Bangkok would be greatly appreciated.

A HIGH-FLYING Sydney banker who stole $7 million from his employer allegedly spent much of the cash on prostitutes, showering them with lavish gifts.
Sung Kyu Chung, 41, gave evidence in Sydney District Court last week where he has pleaded guilty to fraud charges.
The senior manager, who worked in the Korea Exchange Bank's Sydney office, was charged in December, 2008 by City Central Fraud Unit detectives.
Chung faced a preliminary sentence hearing last week. He is due to be sentenced later this month.
The court heard he regularly splashed out on business-class flights to Thailand, where he would visit high-priced prostitutes and stay in five-star hotel rooms.
Prosecutors questioned Chung over alleged "gifts" he bought for the escorts. These included a Mercedes-Benz sedan given to a Thai prostitute and money transferred to another Bangkok call-girl to buy a house.

Chung pleaded guilty to siphoning a total of $7.2 million from the bank by staging at least 77 false transactions.
The court heard he used $1 million of the plundered funds on education and medical fees.
A further $1.1 million was used to buy a house in Marsfield, which has been seized, while $500,000 was lost on a bad investment with Lehman Brothers, the US investment bank which collapsed in the global financial crisis.
A significant amount of the missing money has yet to be recovered.
The seven-year fraud was uncovered in 2005 when Chung was subjected to a blackmailing attempt by a former colleague, the court heard.
In 2008, auditors from KPMG discovered massive discrepancies in the bank's finances.
The court heard that between 2001 and 2008, Chung routinely used the log-in names and passwords of bank clients to send money to his own account.
When the transfers were complete, he fudged computer and accounting records to mask the transactions as having been carried out from overseas, confusing his bank superiors.
He has been allowed conditional bail while he awaits sentencing.

I have been going to nana hotel for about the last five years.
Tonight I had some guests over for tea in my room. Actually we were having some fun. It was eight guests and yes one was a bar girl. Not all of the girls were bar girls. Including my wife from the Philippines.
Nana security does take I'd cards from guests to the rooms. So my female guests left their I'd cards with the security desk before going to my room ...

You should know that Nana Hotel is a place where prostitutes hang out and that nearly all girls there are assumed to be hookers. There are regular police raids in this area. Imagine if some innocent female friend of yours got taken away by the police just for being in the vicinity? Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but there is the assumption of non-registered guests being hookers.
Think you can now see a reason not to stay there if you entertain innocent type guests.

I arrived in Bangkok on January 25th around noon. By now I had already been to France and Inida and been on the road since the 10th.
I had a pre-arranged ride to JW Marriott and so no hassle getting out of the airport and into the heart of the biggest playhouse in the world.
I exchanged $200 at the airport.

She gave me a great massage for about an hour on my back. Turned me over and another good massage for about 20 minutes until the Mr. woke up. She asked if I wanted boom boom. I asked how much. We settled on 500 bhat after about 30 seconds of haggling. Great covered BJ and I was ready for bed. Total cost 1700 bhat for no hassle room service.
Next day I went out for a walk and was accosted by a tuk tuk guy. He wanted to give me a ride for 30 bhat for one hour. Took him up and he drove around, aimlessly for me, by design for him, as he tried to get me buy a custom suit at one place and then some jewellery at another overpriced place.
I did not buy a thing but did get a pretty fair picture of the area surrounding the Marriott, which by the way is right accross from Nana Entertainment.
I also noted that there are massge places, some with very young faces sitting outside all over the City. The Tuk Tuk guy tried to persuade me to go to one. Thanks to this forum, I declined.
Next I walked to Nan Plaza and was accosted by a Taut. He showed me into a nearby ***** house full of chunky, overpainted, mostly overaged girls in a fishbowl. I am forgetting the name of the place. They all waved and smiled and I smiled and waved back. The guy asked "you like" I said "don;t like" and walked out. He was pissed and walked past me and later I saw him standing exactly under the yellow building near Nana where I saw him before looking for his next victim.
As for me, I walked in and out of many bars and got a foot massage near Soi 8 and a beer across from Nana in a very westernized Irish bar.

Selected a place that had published rates and called. They said they would send a girl within 30 minutes for 800 bhat for 2 hours. I said I needed a pretty girl. They tried to upsell. You want every thing for 3000. I said no, just massage.
Knock on the door in 30 mnts and I see a stunning 24-25 year old slim and perky girl at the door. I would give her a 7 on looks. Good Enlish and great personality.
I offered her drinks. She took water. I was doing email and asked her to wait a few. She just sat and watched and waited until I was finished.

Renegotiated her stay to 2000 bhat for every thing. She was great in bed and I had an excellent time. When she left it was around 1 AM. Must have been around 4-5 hours and did not show that she wanted to leave.
I left Bangkok for the States the next morning - January 27th with money to spare out of my $200 that I had cashed.

I know some may not agree with what I paid and the limited choices I had but I was tired and did not have much time. Considering everything, I think I had a great experience in Bangkok, two ladies and some touring, great food, all for under $200 and within 48 hours.

Most of us? Have you conducted a survey? Why not just speak for yourself and say "I"? I have no problem walking through the Nana parking lot, and judging by the number of guys who show up there at around 2am, I'd be more likely to think that for 'most of us' the LBs there are a non-issue. The disco was the best spot for FL in BKK a few years back, but turned crappy after mgmt kept raising the door fee to absurd levels. It's been closed since last July.
I agree with you though that the OP on this one made a pretty dumb mistake staying at Nana Hotel with his wife and having non-working female guests come over and hand over their IDs. That request should have been an obvious red flag. But ... it's being the Nana hotel is about as big a red flag as you can hope for. Who takes their wife to stay at a hooker hotel? It does seem outrageous the hotel would then report them to police as prostitutes though. Nice "customer service." I've never stayed there, don't think I ever will, especially after that report.

Surprised you'd still be asking this question. Hotel staff just officially accused your wife to the police of being a prostitute. I guess if you're cool with that, no reason not to stay there.

He's a noob and some stupid guy on some forum thought it'd be a good idea for him and his friend to stay there so he booked for a week on the internet. He thought the pool would be a nice feature for his female friend while he is on the hunt outside.
Yeah, the pool at Nana Hotel is definitely a great place for a Farang female mainstream tourist to hang out. Great piece of advice!

I have seen horrified young families with children in Pattaya and one can read their minds like "How do I get out of here " ( Mom ) or " How can I ditch the family and get some " ( Pop )
7PM, figured I'd have a drink on Big Mango's balcony, watch the staff trickle into Nana Plaza, and see if that cute waitress was still there. She wasn't; but then again, Big Mango wasn't either. What was the pool table room was now a hotel lobby. Still has 1 balcony, wider now, parallel to the Nana's entrance, but the flavor gone, so didn't stop.
Over to Morning Night bar, finding a seat overlooking the street. Any ghosts of chickens past, from Tom Quik's, long gone, but plenty of chicks around. One sashayed over, taking the seat next to mine. Cute enough that in other times, wouldn't have bothered with a ST, but would have inquired about a LT assignation. Her one negative quality, FOR ME, was our sharing of a common up-country home town. Now, big enough that the chance of us bumping into each other up there minimal, but I want to minimize any "small world" happenstances.

Sunday, hit Nana Plaza, 10pm. Tasked with taking a local in-law around, as he could not get into the bars on his own. Now, I'm sure a RICH Thai would have no problem getting in, but I also know that the rich have other places to go, not having to associate with the foreign hoi polloi. And he wasn't one of those, rich that is, but fit right into the hoi polloi category, local division. So off we went, avoiding any of my normal places, not interested in any shared secrets back home.
First stop, Voodoo, the scene of many a pleasant evening, and then night with a Voodoo-ette. WTF?!? Some Thai festival I don't know about - everyone gone home? Plague hit? Lights were on, but nobody home. Had to check my watch to make sure it wasn't 5pm or 2:30am. I remember when it was PACKED, girls dancing in packed shifts. Now it was a wasteland. I was dumbstuck, but not enough to keep me from doing an IMMEDIATE aboutface and heading outside. On the patio, I paused to catch my breath. The Voodoo used to leave me breathless, but NOT this way.
OK, the old standby, G-Spot. Hmmm, seemed the plague was contagious. 4 girls dancing, well shuffling their feet, on 1 stage, 4 on the other; maybe and equal number of customers. Hollywood Rock at least had 4 girls sitting in the entrance alcove, enough of a gravitational pull to draw this large body in. OK, a bit more like it. But where were the customers? Place sparse, but at least there were 10-12 girls dancing, and several shifts of those. Girls actually doing more than the 1-2 shuffle. Enough eye candy to make up for the rap crap on the sound system. One cutie drew my eye; real spinner, and knew how to keep your eyes glued to her. When not dancing, she was chatting up 1 specific customer.
Later on, the music shifted to rock. However, the DJ, rather than letting a song finish, then skillfully cutting into the next, just arbitrarily cut the playiny 1 off, starting the next before the one playing had finished. This wasn't skill, but butchery. Irksome enough that it was time to pay the bill and move on. As I was waiting, saw Miss Spinner's seatmate move to leave. Bit of a conversation before departure, I figured a done deal for sure. However, both lost points: no offense, sir, maybe you did have an early morning, maybe you did biblically know her already, but she was the best one there. And, Spinner, points off for you for not being able to close the deal. Price too high, too sparse a menu, other plans, whatever... but when you can't land them, your stock goes down.
OK, time to hit the big time. Rainbow 1. If I was going to be ignored, might as well be by some Quality. OK, this was more like it. Stage full of dancing cuties, some wearing what nature provided, and plenty of customers. Enough customers that I was shown a stage side stool. Sorry, even in my younger days, my neck didn't bend that way. Headed for the door, until a senior waitress shooed 2 dances from a table so we could sit.
This was the Nana of old, well, looks anyway. The usual Rainbow effect in evidence - my round eyes generating minimal return gazes. The Japanese, literally thowing money around, obviously distracting. One girl, while certainly not the best looker there, but with her animated antics, trumped the others' looks. She could dance, bit of pole, and definitely enough of an attraction dancing, both on stage and off, to keep your attention focused.
She had caught my stare, and came over to test the water. By then, all the asians must have been on a Cinderella liberty, as, past midnight, place fairly empty. But any decline in the quantity of dancers NOT evident. This night, due to security, had to decline any come-ons. I certainly wasn't going to share any of THAT kind of secret with a local in-law. Not interested in any nudge, nudge, wink, wink back home. But certainly enough of a draw to ensure a trip back.
Nana plaza bit of a surprise on that Sunday night. Perhaps a Super Bowl effect, customers staying home to be up early to watch the game, though I doubt that had any real, discernable effect. But certainly what put me off were the prices - 145 for a Singha, the same bottle I could drink in Soi Cowboy for 110. 35 baht, 1 USD, not a wallet breaker, more the idea then the actual wallet effect. Still, it can add up, and if you throw in lady drinks... Can it be that Soi Cowboy has usurped Nana? Certainly the idea of lowering prices to lure customers, in these economic times, seems a concept foreign to Nana bars' management. And the DRASTIC decline of some of my favorite haunts truly surprising. If someone had told me that the Voodoo and G-spot were now barely functional, I would never have believed if I hadn't seen for myself.

A couple of Thursdays ago – Rainbow 4, Mandarin and Mandarin
Below is a review of my experience with Rainbow 4 and the two Mandarins in NEP (at the top of the escalator on the right). I know NEP is being trashed right now, but I kinda like it - seedy, dirty, crowded. It's like a huge anthill with constant activity.
Be forewarned before you read this whole thing: I ended up with no girls tonight, so this is just a review of a scouting mission. My next report (which I will post very soon) is about a girl I discuss in this post for whom I went back the next night. I'm posting this because it includes info on both Mandarins and sets up my next report.
I was tired, and my regular had plans with her girl friends tonight. I dunno, she's probably got a string of guys lined up behind my back for all I know. Which is actually just fine with me. So I decided to hit the titty bars. Didn't feel like the trek over to Asok, so went local at the NEP.
Now I know many people here frown on the NEP, but I have to tell you, I now prefer this place over Soi Cowboy, which, for whatever reason, seems like a genuine rip-off. NEP is too, but I guess the seedier nature of it makes it more appealing to me. It's hard to put my finger on why I prefer NEP.
So I walk into the NEP and turn right immediately up the escalator. As I reach the top there is a crowd of female touts waiting to usher me into their respective establishments. I robustly reject all the grabbing hands (one pair actually grabbed me by my right nipple as I tried to pass!), and turned the corner towards Rainbow 4.
I walk in, and my very first impression is 'what a dump.' The girls are up high on a stage, the lighting is awful, and the music is disjointed and tepid. They tried to stick me on a stool right up front, I shook my head and refused. They tried some other crapo spot, then another, until I finally got a crapo spot in the back.
I ordered my Coke and took a breath, perusing the offerings. My impression is that there is an awful lot of worn-out meat at Rainbow 4 - weathered faces, overly stretched thighs, lumpy buttocks, and let's not talk about the breasts. Having said that, within this wall of sexed-up road kill are several very, very cute girls. I sat there for 30 minutes and counted three very doable girls. One had a very pretty face, thick thighs (which I like, by the way), reasonable breasts, and seemed to be in her early-mid twenties. The other had a spectacular face, I mean absolutely model-like, but with fake titties. And the last was similar to the second one.
My drink arrived and as I sipped it I sensed danger. As I swallowed the drink, I realized it was not Coke, or any other kind of made-for-human-consumption beverage. It tasted like foul sink water. I literally spat the shit out, held the glass up to the light, and deduced that it was Coke that had been watered down, roughly 1 part Coke 1 part water, 1 part ice. I'm not the kind to complain, usually, so I sat there and fumed for a minute or two, until the waitress came over to me with a big grin on her face. I said 'Not now, Twinkles', but she ignored me and motioned to herself, and then to an old 60 year old woman who looked to be a cleaning lady, and then to me, and indicated she wanted me to engage in the world's most grotesque threesome. She seemed confused, concluded that the three-way was probably not going to happen, and then just walked away.
I paid (yes, I did) and walked out. Me thinks me shall never return.
Next was Mandarin. There are two Mandarins: one on the left with a neon sign, and the one on the right with just a regular sign. I first went to the one on the left where you have to walk up some very intimidating and threatening stairs. But once inside, the place is actually quite nice.
They have two teams of girls. The first is the school girl set. They wear little dresses, white shirts, sneakers, etc. and the girls themselves are small, petite, skinny. You know, the usual thing. The last time I was here, I was approached by two dancers from this team and offered a threesome. I was tired and refused. Today I saw one of those girls (the cuter of the two), I think her name is Ice. She seems to really get around - she is always being boozed by some old guy or the other. She has a very cute face and a real school girl look. If I weren't so into bigger ladies, she would definitely be worth a spin around the block.

I do not take horny goat weed. I was on a various multi vitamin system and used ogoplex and semenex before but I have switched since then.
Basic high strength mens multi vitamin (max for men from country life or one of the mens from GNC, anything high strength two pill a day). Then add some vit c (not cialis regular Vitamin C), vit E, cranberry fruit, B 12, green tea, l-llysine, L-arginine, cinnamon, folic acid, garlic, cider vinegar tablets, oil of oregano, calcium, zinc, and selenium. I think that is about it but I could miss one or two.
Qty of each vitamin depends on the person your weight your goals and such so I won't say the mg I take daily but let's just say it can be a decent amount. But ability to shoot on goal to completion is high(er) qty then most people so I hear, with excellent strength in each shot and extended or longer lasting climaxes. Meaning excellent number of contractions and spurts per shot on goal. Volume, now here is the kicker, volume is large (so I hear form the girls) when not getting much action, but when in full rabbit mode even if I am not drinking a ton of liquids then the volume per shot on goal is only about 5 ml. I've also gone back to Kava Drinks / powder as the recent studies show it can kill cancer cells in lab test.
I should do more stretches, plilates, yoga or such and lose 10 more lbs but just not enough time but there are always excuses not to do things. I am more into stamina from the biking then strength work out but muscle tone overall needs or should be average. But I travel a lot so throw out everything except the vitamins when I travel I eat whatever is put in front of me mostly but I honestly try to stay with fruits and eat better as I'm getting older.
The pills are a lot of work but I have someone prepackage my daily pills for like three months in advance so I have nice little zip lock bags I can put in my pocket with my gel and condoms. I don't suggest everyone doing the above but it works for me and I keep adapting and trial of different mixtures. I however do have a complete physical and blood work monitored / tested monthly for a gambit of items due to work.
If you look many of the over the counter products for increased sperm output or such most or many are a mixture of herbs and the vitamins / minerals I listed above. Be warned, taking an overdose of vitamins can be just as dangers as taking too much other med's and have counter effects on you.
PS: soy lecithin is more for brain activity (alzheimer's and dementia etc). It is a boost to cell membranes and many food additives contain it but not in large qty so now it is taken as a suppliment. It has been around for a long time and is considered quasi holistic also even if there is some science behind it. However if you take large doses of it you better double up on your intake of Vitamin C as it is needed to counteract some negative side effects of large qty of soy lecithin.

I always stock up on Snake Brand Prickly Heat Anti Bacterial... but remember that is to help against bacteria... Works good, great price, good product.
But the vinegar works against items like yeast and fungals that antibiotics / antibacterial's won't touch. I had a fungal infection that was misdiagnosed as a bacterial and by taking antibiotics they shut down part of the system so the fungal grows deeper and worse instead of getting better.
But you want apple cider vinegar not white vinegar and you should try to go for organic if possible. An ounce of prevention...

Coke incident and potential hideous 3-way aside, I can honestly say their line up, at least on the one night I was there in January, was pathetic (I was in there a year ago and it was far, far better then). It may be that on this one night I was unlucky in which girls happened to be on stage, but the girls were indeed weathered and looked very beaten down. That's all I can report on - if you have had different experiences with Rainbow 4, then you should report them and let readers decide for themselves whether they will visit the place.
Bottom line for me: I was not impressed. As I wrote in my report, of the approx. 30 girls on the stage, there were only three potentials - the others were not worth a second glance. You could try a place in Soi 11, on your left hand, i guess you know where Cheap Charlies is, so between CC and 7/11 there is a restaurant, i think it is on the second floor. I think its an austrian or swiss place and they at least did laundry there, by the kg.

I've always bemoaned the lack of laundry options in the area and the price.
There are a couple of places down Soi 4 (opp Rajah) who from memory charge between 5 -25 baht a piece. Still not cheap, but an improvement.
There is another place down Soi 5 but not sure of the prices.
Had to learn the hard way. Well, I'm no newbie when it comes to things like this. I know things like this happen everywhere but out of possibly hundreds of ST encounters in ST rooms in SEA this is the first time it happens. After all, I am Egyptian and come from Egypt which is the land of all kinds of thievery and scams so I had always assumed Thailand is at least better in these circumstances.
Anyway, I bring a new girl from Nana Parking Lot to the short-time room "Penthouse" and she acts friendly and everything is alright. When she showered first she left her handbag next to the bed. Anyhow I finish the session and give her the agreed amount and then head for the shower alone with my phone inside the pocket of my jeans left next to the bed. Thankfully I had left my wallet in my hotel. Not 3 minutes later I walk out of the shower and her (presumably) Thai boyfriend is inside the room with her in bed with my phone in his hand. They both ask for 5000 baht so I can get my phone back, to which I refuse and in any case did not have with me. Now believe it or not I am so thin even slimmer than the average Thai and there was no way I would dare physically start a fight in a foreign land, so as I make an arguement and raise my voice the Penthouse staff and random people gather and they pretend not to understand what is going on (even though it is obvious that a stranger had gotten into the room and I am still in my bathrobe). Next, the girl and her Thai friend run into a taxi and escape with nobody stopping them or attempting to question them. With the license plate number of the taxi memorized I went to the police station and explained the whole story but they are not too keen on doing anything as apparently prostitution is illegal in the first place or maybe they thought my nationality was not worth their attention?? Kind of like how we treat non-Caucasian people like African people here in Egypt.
What really strikes me is how the Penthouse staff just let any random stranger into the ST rooms when a room is occupied??

Picked up a hot FL in Nana one night. Went to my hotel, only to discover they wouldn't let her in because she had no ID. The hotel was The Dawin and ofcourse, this is generally a good thing. Alarm bells rang and it should have ended there.

The thought of her bolting was constantly on my mind while showering, but it never occured to me at the time that accomplice may enter.
As an aside, a mate of mine got ripped of in his hotel room by a girl who bolted, but in her haste to get away, she dropped her ID card. My mate went to the police and there was a lot of paper shuffling and concerned frowns but not much else. Later that night, we slipped the local shoe-shine boys and flower girls some baht and showed them the girls details. Off they went and a few hours later they had located her. We went tearing to the location but just missed her. Damn!

There have been no studies to show it is effective, and Pfizer (who wouldn't miss a trick on this one) said in 2004:
"... results from clinical studies investigating the use of Viagra as a treatment for female sexual arousal disorder do not support a regulatory filing. To date the company has conducted several large-scale placebo-controlled studies involving approximately 3,000 women. While Viagra was found to be safe in all studies, efficacy data were inconclusive. Pfizer said the program would draw to a close this month".
Of course, a lot of the effect is psychological.

At least one place way down Soi 4 will do it by the kg. I think they wanted 50 baht per kg, but I am not recalling for sure. It's a haircut shop with sign in the window that says they accept laundry.

I really like the plentiful mirrors and big tubs in some of the nicer soapy masasage places. Are there are nice (or at least not too skeezy) love hotels suitable for taking a farang gf. Plenty of mirrors a must. Big bath a bonus.

It sounds to me like a full set up, in which the Penthouse staff are getting a kickback, and I assume this may have happened more than once? Tell as many people as possible, boycott the Penthouse, they will soon lose enough business if word gets out. You should have called the tourist police as opposed to the police. Not that it necessarily would have made a world of difference, although at least in theory it is supposed to. Is your phone actually worth 5000 baht (or should I say 10, 000, as they will be selling it used)?

I agree optical and "other attributes" assist my psycoholgical abilities to keep going. For me usually two shots on a girl and I am ready to switch girls to keep going. I've heard BKK had good dental hospitals that may rival the ones at home at a much lower price even with the cost of RT airfare and hotel cost. So thinking of traveling to BKK to have the work done and having a monger vacation while I'm there.
1) what is the best dental hospital in BKK or best dentist (office) for implants in BKK
2) any idea what an implant will cost
3) if I decide to do it in BKK, how would I get information about booking an appointment and finding out the final cost.
4) how many days would I need to stay in BKK for the procedure.
Anyone with prior experience or knowledge about implants or surgical dental procedures or recommendations can PM me or post info so I could get started. Hate not being able to chew my food well.

There is a great German dentist in Pattaya. He is much cheaper than the dental Hospital in Bangkok Sukh Soi 49.
The problem is that implants are not cheap since they are imported from Switzerland. Furthermore that dentist will only accept you for an implant if you don't smoke, because of the high risk of complications.
If you need the contact, PM me. You could call him for a second opinion on if you need an implant at all.

Should have a thread for tailors and dentists only... Will agree with Tiger888 that it is cheaper in Pattaya however but I've used the above firm with good results.
Saying this nicely, if you would have done a simple search you will find hundreds of reports / comments / replies about dentists go guide you on details on contacting them directly with your questions... Many other members posted other dental clinics for various items.
Depending on your airfare, how long to stay, you might break even depending on the type of room you stay at, how many girls you shag, etc... I assume it would not be a short procedure. But you'd have a hell of lot more fun in recovery in Thai then in other countries. Personally I saved a shit load on my dental work but I was already going to thai for other reasons.

OK... for me probably would be Tulip due to overall consistency in getting good sex. Can hit up a few MP's but Tulip has usually shown the most consistent level of talent.
Second would be a toss up depending on the guy....

Nobody takes laptops, cameras or phones away in Myanmar. Have been there 3 times, same with friends. As a tourist, they stamp you in and that is that. I was even there right after the Saffron Revolution with a professional camera, lenses, and a laptop and was whisked right in.Thanks for that, maybe I won't bother.

The website seems to offer only yearly rental, which is too long for me. A month would be OK.
Just returned from a tour of bangkok and a few other cities. Soi cowboy was a disappointment compared to a few years ago. Suzy wong and Long Gun start the shows at 10 if I remember right. Suzy and Long Gun were both a disappointment. Not much nudity and such as before it seems. I got bored at Long gun waiting foe something to happen and left about 30 minutes into the show.
Baccara had some good loking talent but the waitresses drive me crazy. Sit , but a drink otherwise leave. Christ you can't even get hardly into the door.
Talac was no pressure and had some cuties. No topless or anything when I was in there. A couple of the nights it was pretty dead on the whole street. You can pretty much have the time to move around and check the places out. Start with Baccara and move down the street.

You should take note of the places mentioned by Tansak and Tiger888, also in Bangkok the Bumrungrad Hospital Soi 3, across from Grace Hotel is the most well known.
In Pattaya, there are many and I have tried Tiger888 recommendation last year and it is tops and recently I tried another place not so far up from Foodland that I was very impressed with and slightly cheaper but German Dental might have a advantage for you due to time since they have their own lab on site and cater to Farangs on the go..
As for Implants, I went to a short discussion on implant last year given by a Doctor from Siracha Hospital near Pattaya and they indicated a implant takes at least 2 plus weeks since they need the stem? to set in your gum prior to finishing the job. Members on this board that might have had the procedure might what to confirm that...
Depending when you come right now I'm in the States and don't have the exact address or website for the mentioned places in Pattaya.

I just had dental inplant completed in Bangkok. This was at Asavant Dental off of sukumvit.
Very easy to get to and very professional. Seemed expensive but did not really keep track of the difference compared to USA dental work.
Maybe I saved some money but it was also time consuming.
The first part is the post that is drilled into your bone. This takes about six months healing and then you return for the second part.
With that there was some work that took seperate appointments with some time in between. Maybe one week.
I did lose track of all the details.
However now I have found a very good dentist in Philippines. Which is much cheaper and very reliable. So my future dental work will be done in the Philippines.
By the way I still feel numb where my inplant was completed.
The bone and tooth area do not feel the same as before but not a major problem.
I can add more information later if needed. The asavant dental has a web site and you can email and get estimates.
Compare to USA dentist or elsewhere. And shop around.
The dentist there are very very good. This may be a more expensive place in Bangkok so you can do it for less.
