When I was there in Jan/Feb, closing times everywhere in the Suk area were around 2am. That may have changed since then. If you get in at 11pm, you could be sitting in a gogo or bar, sipping a beer and making your pick by about 1am, sooner if you rush it.

Maybe someone could give a rundown of current closing times at some of the more user-friendly venues:

1. Nana
2. Soi Cowboy
3. Thermae
4. Biergarten
5. Nana Car Park (is this still good? it was pretty damn good when i was there in Jan/Feb, around 2-3am) This was a good spot right when everything else closed, that's when it got most active -- much cheaper than NEP and SC too

If you don't see a girl you want to screw within five or ten minutes or LESS, then you are blind. Just remember to pace yourself. You sound new to visiting Thailand, so just get a beautiful girl who speaks english, and do a short time with her. Don't get two girls right out of the gate. I strongly don't recommend that. Sometimes two girls work together in getting more out of you than just some wood. Get one girl, and get your feet wet that way. DO NOT tell all the girls you meet it is your first time in Bangkok. They aren't going to jump for joy for you being there. Just play it cool, and you'll be fine.

I heard a story out of Phuket years ago that a naval pilot gave them a bunch of crap for being the way they are. He was drunk and boisterous. A group of katoeys came to visit him at his hotel at 4am. By 4:10am he was dead, having been thrown off the balcony of his 4th floor hotel room. I also understand that no charges were ever filed by the local police.

If you have unlimited funds and the right Thai connections you can have anything you want. However, if you are just an average Joe here for a two week vacation, you are pretty much relegated to the tourist venues in BKK or Pattaya. If you are going to compare the girls who work in the "tourist areas" to Thai models you are going to be sorely disappointed.

Soi Cowboy has been defying official closing times at some bars. A few weeks ago there was a change of police boss and earlier closng was occurring just for a short period the mamasan claimed. Would be back to extra late closing soon (e.g. later than 2AM I think if got customers).

Any way I can't see a problem. I will arrive at a similar time later this month and I expect to still find plenty of action at Soi Cowboy when I get there. Not sure about other areas.

Lily Koh doesn't sound like a Thai name. Nor does Thainee. Thats because they are fake names for Pornstars rather than models.

Koh means "Island" but has a very strange abrupt pronunciation that inexperienced westerners cannot usually say. Doesn't make a nice sounding name.

You will find girls that can compete with your two. Just not a huge percentage of them. Won't be hard to find a better body than Lily but she does have a very pretty face which will be hard to match.

Actually many Thai real models are not really exceptionally pretty, its just that they have the right hight and style.

I have the added advantage of being married to a Thai so I am exposed to a different side of Thailand that most short-term visitors are not privy to; but, I've learned to love Thailand despite its many flaws.

On one hand you claim "most Farang I know" prefer Thai style and then say most Farang like ugly girls that mystifies the Thais. So the only thing "saving" you is that you don't know any of tthe Farangs who like darker skinned "ugly". But if this saves you from being self-contradictory, it seems to imply a predudice there.
Or is it really nothing to do with the looks of the girls, but their personality and the way they act.

You're probably right that my friends and I are in the minority, particularly if one takes into account all the Farang who come to Thailand and live here. You're also correct that a lot of guys take what they can get. I'm sure if they had access to a wider choice, they might opt for something different, if for no other reason than a desire for variety. This is evidenced by the positive remarks I always get when I post pics, which are of a different type of TG than most Farang normally have access to, and also by the envious stares and comments I get from Farang when I'm with my GF - I actually had some American come up to me on the beach in Hua Hin and ask, "where [he] could get such a beautiful girl in Thailand".

Anyway, I didn't really want to start this war again. I hold the minority view, so will always lose the argument. Sorry, if I came off smug.

Actually thats not really mystifying either. Some Thai girls like my GF have been badly burned by a terrible experience with a Thai man. Other's just despise the Thai man's self-centred-ness and lack of responsibility and often sponging money off their family female members who can't afford it, etc. Isn't it Thai girls who have to give support to the families?

Maybe your GF wants an intellegent, reliable and responsible man.

I second that statement. There is nothing like the attention that a man gets from his Thai significant other. It is not systematic, mind you, and the man needs to be delivering too in a few things that the Thai lady deems important, but nothing beats being taken care of in a way that Western men have long forgotten.

Recently went to PPII to check out a few places that I have never been to before. One of them a friend of mine had mentioned. The place was called "The Strip". It is located on the right hand side of Patpong II as you enter from Silom Rd. Its between the Barbar Club (BDSM) and Club Electric Blue.

This is a go-go type place but with a different approach/twist. As you walk in the first thing you notice are these very tall floor to ceiling silver cylinders to the left and right. Looks a bit space age. In the middle is a small dance platform with 4-5 ladies dancing and trying their hardest to attract you.

The cylinders are essentially private (circular) rooms for lap-dancing or whatever goes. At the end of the bar is where the actual bar to sit is located. The deal here is that you select a lady or two and go private. The fee system is as follows:

Private room 30 mins: 500 baht - includes nude dancing / touching
Additional Lady fee: 500 baht more for hj/bj (if you want it - not required)
Full sex: up to you and her. I was quoted 2000 bht by one girl.
Beer: 120 baht

Once you enter the room the lady will go and get a "sex kit" that is a basket of paper towels, oil etc. She will quickly strip and the show is on. I have taken two girls and both were very energetic and quite a pleasure to play with. Both provided hj and one provided hj/bj for the 500 baht extra. This place is an oldie but I had never been. My point of reference is the Star of Light on PP II.

Kangaroo Club is on the left hand side of the Soi if you enter from Silom Rd.
It is also on the upstairs level. **Attention newbies** In general AVOID upstairs bars on Patpong I - They are ripoff bars. Kangaroo is an exception.

Once upstairs the first thing I notice was how dark it was! Perhaps for good reason! After a few minutes my eyes adjusted and I could see about a dozen ladies or various ages / sizes / looks. While I couldn't agree more with this, I think we have somehow got into the wrong thread. Buts its no big deal.

I have not considered having a western GF or wife for the last 15 years. I'm allergic to them. But I have to admit that some European women are more appealing than US, British, Austrailian etc. I may well be blissfully unaware of their personalities.

Maybe its easier to find a good partner in Thailand due to "deficiencies" in the local culture.

Here are some things I found about it googling:

A fire broke out and caused quite a happening as Nana Plaza area revelers spilled out of bars that had had their electric cut out. The ladders of the brave firefighters went up to the second floor of the plaza at what looked to be the location of Mandarin Bar. Local residents, thinking their electric would be out for quite some time, tried to buy candles but alas both the 7 11 and Family Mart were without power for their cash registers. A good fire is one that is put out quickly and only causes some broken doors and glasses. This fire looked to be that kind of fire. The electric went back on at 10:30 p.m. and the Chat Moon Kohn Holiday crowd dispersed from the scene.

For a small fire like this, I was amused by the whole army of civil defense fire engines and rescue workers. From my humble abode in Soi 3, I could at least count 10 fire engines whisking along the soi.

Curious as I was, I took a short stroll to check out what happened. You'll be amazed at what speculation comes out from those who aren't sure of the real story. Some hilarious things I heard on the way include:

- Bomb threat at J.W. Marriot
- Shell petrol kiosk exploded (as the electricity was disrupted, some could have assumed that)
- Explosion on Soi 4 wiping out several pubs and discos

Anyway, I have to give great kudos to the Thai fire department in dispatching their fighters so quickly. But sending 10 fire engines? Don't you think it's way too much of an overkill? Just like breaking a butterfly on the wheel.

Spent five days in Bangkok over the course of a few weeks, on my most recent trip.

Stayed in my usual digs, at Majestic Suites for the first stint, and at Grand President on the way back, Both totally acceptable. Majestic is the basic, GP offers a little more luxury.

After checking this board and others about where to go (it’s been four years since my last BKK visit), I checked out NEP and Cowboy as a near-newbie visitor.

In NEP, I’d heard good things about Rainbow 3, but I only saw one do-able girl in several visits. Rainbow 4 was exactly as described…”What your name. Where you from. 3000 bhat short time”, very business like. Mandarin had some lovlies, and I took one out LT. Very nice for the night but turned into a starfish in the morning.

There is a simple guide to Oily massages and its easy to remember.

I have been taken and gone to real high end places in Bangkok and thought, what a waste of money, I am paying for the arty chair I am sitting on and the four plates widely placed on the wall. I am not saying that I do not like the more expensive end either as I am regular at places like Phillip's and Rossini's but I know the premium I am paying there is not just going on the interesting plastic fish in the toilet.

In Tawandeng even though it is not the cheapest you are not paying for location or the arty design, you are paying for good home brewed beer and great food. The show is not the best in town either and do not expect 100's of sexy women on stage more a set of older musicians and a old westerner dude playing the piano. The music performance level is better than what you would get in a hotel lobby but not as good as what you would get in a real upscale live venue. The main band itself is large and is made up of local instruments and western internments including a small brass section. Guest singers come in later in the night and they have had magic acts and even circus acts.

I would say it has to be a must for anyone that wants a none P4P night out.
I have taken many of my customers and visiting friends there and out of all them,I am guessing more than 50, only 1 said they did not like it. The reason he gave was something like, it was beneath him and it was not up market enough.

You will not be the only westerner in there. When I first started going there it was really only me and who ever I took but over time it has got more popular with none Thai's. The Reason I like it so much if I am honest is I think it is one of, or the only place in Bangkok now that you can get a nice beer.

You paid more than 50 baht for the Tuk-Tuk tour. That Soapy Massage, "hidden joint" that he took you to, probably gave the driver a nice kick back. They don't make any money driving you around for 50 baht. The gas alone will eat most if not all of that up. They make the money on the kickbacks. He probably made 300 to 500 baht off you, on that one stop. I can imagine the type of Soapy that he took you to and what other stops you made. Is this 3 hours from landing time to take off time if so by the time you get off one plane and back on to the other the odds are you won't have enough time. When I land on my next trip in June the landing time will be 1505 hrs at Bkk and then departing flight to HKT is 1820hrs. A rate of 50B for three hours would yield the tuk tuk driver 133B for an eight-hour day, from which he'd have to pay for fuel, maintenance on his vehiclle, etc. Again, explain to us all how he could make a living as an independent entrepeneur on a gross income that is considerable less than an unskilled laborer would make?

I arrived back at work via Dubai yesterday. But through Dubai for two days. What a shock to walk in to Jockeys for a beer and get the super aggressive, in your face, Chinese in UAE treatment after coming from LOS. Had to leave after first beer and phone a regular.

I don't know it there is a record for the lowest price paid, but going up to departures as I have done since new airport opened: 175 to LL Soi 33. Gave him 250 for being honest. He was chuffed as obviously he had not counted on a return.

Some of these guys pay 800 to rent their car for the day, might not seem much, but like all taxi work, most is fuck around money, not real jobs.

Advice received from this forum and friend from my country: go up the esclators to departures, and ged the guys from there. Much happier experience overall.

doubt you'll find anything too enticing in the vicinity of grace hotel. the disco cm2 in siam square (novotel hotel?) is the one place i know that will have some russians (a dozen or so when i've been there) and possibly a rep001tering of africans -- once there i saw one who i'd guess was from ethiopia or somwhere in that region. there might be girls from other places there too, not sure. the overwhelming majority will be thai of course.

My current reporting, I visited Sherbet Night Club located the main Ekkamai Road. The charges are not too bad amongst night clubs across Asia. The cost will be THB20k for 9 bottles of Chivas and each girl will cost circa THB300 per hour. There are at least 50-70 young girls with age ranging from 19 to 25 with some displaying well stack racks. Most dont speak English but will be ok for very very sparse basic English words. The is a large number of girsl sitting around the pool table, at the lounge sofa and around the bar area for your choosing. They will accompany you for drinking games and chit chat with hugging and light kisses. The girls do not follow you home, and if you are able to "court" on a long term basis, i feel there is a lot of potential. Getting their mobile numbers are not at all hard for any punter.

Took a taxi from airport to Eastin hotel (near to chilom BTS). Toll + meter + airport charge set me back about 275 bht.

I had booked eastin via the internet and got it at a very good rate of only about 10000 bht nett for 6 nights. Its newly renovated and definitely girl friendly. Only thing is the hotel is not near any BTS. Usually have to take taxi out of hotel.

Places I visited include the Bed. Many girls there. Some FL. Nice club with many foreign models.

Santika. This disco is located at Ekkamai. Many normal thai girl go there and you could get lucky there.

Scratch dog. Located at windors suite hotel. Open till 4am. Basically it get real crowded after 2am. The action was hot with lots of babes.

Banyan Tree Maxx. Behind esplanade (near to BTS Thailand cultural centre) many young puyings here and some look absolutely gorgeous.

Also tried Spicy and boss. After hours club but a bit too sleazy for my liking.

Massage. Tried this one called thonglor massage at sukhumvit soi 24. Great ambience and the gal do know a thing or two about massage. Not your strictly pay and fark joint. Would highly recommend this place.

Bars. Visited patpong. Kings corner.. Some gorgeous ladies but they are confirm lady boys. Bought some imitiation stuff at patpong night market. A good shopping haven.

Follow up with my last two nights.

It depends a bit on how you define Girl Friend Experience. If you're using the term in its narrow sense to mean a provider who allows Deep French Kissing and foreplay, then GFE is certainly available from every lady in Eden, incall or outcall. It's also widely available with just about every other provider in LOS.

And since you get to pick them in Eden, there should be no complaint. No one forces you to stay. No choice is certainly a valid choice. If the quality is not up to your standard, the door is right there.

I always managed to find someone decent if I went early. The problem is often with the second girl. And that is where the question becomes do you let her pick the 2nd or do you. After the conclusion of my third trip to this amazing city Bangkok since 2007, I still feel the city just having so much to offer and definitely earn the next comeback holiday/vacation.

The Nana entertainment plaza with the rainbow 4 is filled with some hot girls. The BF is still at 600baht and the girls want 2000ST or 4000 LT. But it is a Hit or Miss when all said and done. Hollywood bar I found couple gem in the rough and with a more relax atmosphere than Rainbow 4.

Had stayed in BKK for 6 nights. Was there to settle some work and there after wanted a short break.

Took a taxi from airport to Eastin hotel (near to chilom BTS). Toll + meter + airport charge set me back about 275 bht.

I had booked eastin via the internet and got it at a very good rate of only about 10000 bht nett for 6 nights. Its newly renovated and definitely girl friendly. Only thing is the hotel is not near any BTS. Usually have to take taxi out of hotel.

Places I visited include the Bed. Many girls there. Some FL. Nice club with many foreign models.

Santika. This disco is located at Ekkamai. Many normal thai girl go there and you could get lucky there.

Scratch dog. Located at windors suite hotel. Open till 4am. Basically it get real crowded after 2am. The action was hot with lots of babes.

Banyan Tree Maxx. Behind esplanade (near to BTS Thailand cultural centre) many young puyings here and some look absolutely gorgeous.

Also tried Spicy and boss. After hours club but a bit too sleazy for my liking.

In some of the soapies the fishtank is very brightly lit and outside is dimly lit. This means the girls can only see the customers that stand close to the glass. I prefer to stand back so that the girls cannot see me as I don't want them to put on an act to try to win me over. I want to see the normal personality should it come out just a little.

Many other places either don't have any glass or don't have such a lighting contrast. Poseidon has no glass, nor does Tarawadee. Most places have no glass for sideline girls.

At Cupidy I don't like the way all the girls can see me and will all start waving wildly at me and continuously nodding as if to say "yes definitely me". I am no Thai regular, but have transited overnight in Bangkok and will likley do so again. My last visit, I checked out Pat Pong and Nana and was suprized to see that there was no smoking in the bars.

Can anyone offer advice (besides to quit) about any smoker-friendly venues?

I admit that I am kind of big baby when I cannot smoke especially if I am drinking.

Thank you.My experience is that about 50% of the bars will let you smoke. Some you have to be a regular, others will bring you an empty soft drink can to use as an ashtray (if you ask), others just pretend the law doesn't exist.

Most of the bars that have an upstairs will allow you to smoke there.

No one really knows how strictly this new law will be enforced hence the difference between locations. If they decide to enforce it not only does the bar get fined but the smoker as well.

It doesn't really bother me but if it is a big issue for you there are plenty of places.

Never underestimate the power of the Internet. On another board, I got a message from a guy who said he thought he knew who Da was (that isn't the name she goes by in real life) and where she was then working (a straight job, she wasn't doing P4P anymore). Eden Club is more than just anal. You can get regular two girl sex, but if anal is you thing then it's also available at the Eden Club. it's also available from other places also, but Eden is famous for it.

The prices in BKK have doubled over the last 5 years, with the introduction of new and better paying jobs in general and other P4P venues and therefore more options for the girls. Of course general inflation also had it's hand in it. That said, it's still only 15% to 25% of what it would cost you compared to the U.S., Europe, Japan or other similarly developed country. Even less, when you consider the time you get for the amount you pay (2 hours or more ST and the LT rates are extremely low). I think it's still "cheap", especially when you consider B2,000 can get you LT in BKK and won't even get you a decent quicky in the U.S.

I think with the development and new down time diversions in Bangkok, it's actually an even better city to visit now than in it's "heyday" 20+ years ago. I'm not one of those who yearns for the "good old days", since I think those days are right now. The best of all worlds. It may eventually get to a point that it's no longer good value, but that may be a decade or two away.

33 is an enjoyable place for me but Napolean is not one of my favorites. There are some very nice bars there and not crowded and not pushy like NEP or Cowboy etc... The ladies tend to speak better english or more then bar girl english, the pool tables are usually not too crowded (many of the bars have pool tables), the ladies are not doing 5 guys a night, you can get meals there, many places if they do not have kitchens have menus from near by that you can order in from. Back in the days they let you smoke the bars were never over flowing with smoke (as a non smoker this was a good selling point for me) etc...

Paying 3 or 5 K baht does not get you a better screw. Granted you can spend a longer time in a quieter place talking to ladies and getting a vibe for how they will be and if they might be more GFE then other places. Can you end up with a total star fish.. of course you could. Just like going for a model at a soapy... the higher the price does not mean the better the service. However rarely was I disappointed with the level of service these girls provided to me, from an assortment of bars.

Drink prices on 33 I find are very reasonable; however watch some bars as they will try to pad the bill. Wall Street, the office, Monet, Powley's, green parrot, and of course Livingstone I trust and have never had an issue with the bills and I have never had a problem leaving items on tables or laying around, the girls and staff have always been above board and honest at these places. Some other places are known to be a little shady on the bar bills. Some bars you can buy your own bottle and keep it there for just you. While I find the little glasses of drinks and the prices at cowboy and other places to be almost the same price or higher. So cost wise to have a few drinks, with the nice atmosphere, I do not think 33 is expensive.

The truth is: I have lived in Sub-Saharan Africa, am very familiar with the sexual practices in that part of the world and I know that AIDS is out of control. Call me paranoid, but I aint' taking any chances. I know that the Thai government cracked down on the "visitors" from West Africa in recent years, so it's likely you haven't see any in Eden for a while. Last time I went to Eden, there were two West African "clients" who were going to do two girls on the left side of the line together (a foursome). It ain't racism, it;s a matter of statistics and common sense.
