In one week, I will go to Mombasa. It will be my first visit in Kenya.
Does anybody have some recommendation where I can go to in the evening or night?
I want to know, on witch day I should go to witch pub, bar or disco.
I want to avoid to travel from one empty club to the other.

Poppeye23.You do something wrong mate. I wrote check Dodochens post. There is a map attached. Casuarina is very good on Wednesdays too. And Fridays. There is a lot of semipros looking for rent money end of month. After 1100 pm there is plenty women. At least 50. If you want 1000 hookers fly to Thailand. Looking for recommendations for spas or MP (with extras) in Shanzu, Mombasa. I'll be there only for the weekdays so would really appreciate some help.
What sort of extras are on the table and what are the average prices? Should I make prior reservations? If you guys have any personal masseuse recommendations, even better.
I am staying at a nice resort but am sharing the room with someone, why is why I can't take the girl home.

After extensive research on this forum I booked my flights to Mombasa and booked in at the Jambo Travellers in Mtwapa.
Arrived on Wednesday late on the 00:45 flight from Nairobi and took the prebooked taxi arranged by the hotel, expensive at 3000 shillings but better safe than sorry.
I had signed up to Afro Introduction dating site and had been messaging a few girls before my arrival.

Most restaurants are way too expensive for the quality they offer. But if you're able to throw a steak on a grill and cook yourself you're all set.
I do like Uganda for the climate and chicas. There is two caveats though. Pollution and congestion in Kampala. And surprisingly crime. Murders are up big time in Kampala. And when I was checking on housing it was way more expensive too. Kenya has its issues politically. But by and large its stable. Uganda the big question mark will be when Museveni departs. Nobody knows if it remains stable. But I can always jump on a regional flight. But IMHO as a base Kenya is hard to beat.
I know some consider Mtwapa as a dump. but. you need to have some kind of social life and there is some great widely travelled expat mongers hanging out there. Great fun.

You're right I don't "need" a leatherman but I'm a Amercan. I feel naked without a gun and I never used mine in America. It's part of American cowboy culture Yee hah! LOL.

At high tide this beach is excellent for swimming as it is just a few meters to reach the deep water. Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti said the prime suspect, Mary Mwimali Kavua, is being held over the brutal killing that happened at a Malindi hotel.
She was arrested at a bar in Diani, Ukunda in Kwale County where she is said to have escaped after allegedly killing the German tourist.
By last evening, detectives were interrogating her in connection with the crime.
A woman who police say is the key suspect in the murder of German national Detering Herman was Thursday evening arrested in Diani.
The suspect who has been identified as 32-year-old Mary Mwikali Kavuu was arrested by Detectives based in Ukunda according to the coast region DCI head Washington Njiru.
" She is expected to be driven to Malindi where the crime took place so as to assist in investigations," Njiru told Baraka FM.
Njiru added that the suspect has been living in Diani.
78-year-old Herman's lifeless body was discovered by staff at the Moreima cottages on Tuesday evening after they got suspicious following his failure to show up breakfast and lunch at the cottages.
According to the Moreima cottages receptionist Kelly Kazungu, Herman's body was lying in a pool of blood while his body had stab wounds on the head and stomach.
According to Njiru, detectives will be looking to unravel the motive behind the killing and to see if they will recover the murder weapon.
According to the Malindi sub-county police boss Vitalis Otieno, the deceased had left Diani on the 4th of December 2019 and traveled to Malindi where he checked into the Moreima cottages.
It is not clear if the suspect who police say was a girlfriend to the deceased was living with him in Diani.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.

What a week! Let me summarize my week in sex paradise!

My one hesitation however, is that based on what I've read, the close vicinity can be pretty sketchy at night.

They won't even tell you their rate until you go inside their shops with them.
But the differences between them are just small.
Recently I saw a shop in the Mtwapa Mall (where the big Tusky's supermarket is) announcing their rates on a board outside, but they are not always open.

Many years ago I was in Cheers one night and a French naval vessel docked in Mombasa. The sailors ended up in Floridas and a girl called her friend from there in Cheers to tell her. I have in addition a cheap Asus netbook and that doesn't leave the room either. Rule of thumb. Whatever you don't like to be liberated (with Iphones on top of everybody's shopping list) ,leave at home. Nowadays you can buy very good TECNO smartphones everywhere in Africa. I prefer big battery like 5000 mAh and Dual Sim and 5" screen is a must.

Truvada or the generic should be available in your country after a medical examination and consultation.
Doxy can be taken as a malaria prophylaxis and is of course also very effective for STDs like gonorrhea or chlamydia.

I use condoms, they work. I cover up in the early when the sun is not shining to try to lessen my chances of mosquito bites, use a spray / cream and sleep under a net, they all work.

I don't use traditional hotels in Nairobi anymore. Too much drama at the counter in almost all the time. Kenyans love to get passive income through ABB, and my fav spot is Woodmere serviced apartments. Its very quiet, and lots of scenic greenery on the grounds. They have a small store on the premises where you can get wine, beer and small snacks. YaYa mall is in walking distance for groceries and booze because Woodmere has a small kitchenette. They have lots of channels for TV during the day or night off from mongering.
My buddy happened to come into Kenya at the same time as me and got two very nice two BR ABB spots in Kilimani, so I have to reevaluate my desire to always stay at Woodmere. I was actually very jealous of his choices. Woodmere can be cheap but small.
Back in the day most mongers stayed in town due to Simmers and Madhouse. Those are gone now, so I see no need to stay in CBD at all anymore. Noisy and full of A holes. Do you actually recommend to go with ABB over hotels, cheaper, no joiner fees etc. ?

Kommmissar.Nobody stays in Mombasa town (on the island) near Casablanca. Castle hotel is close by and would be a good option for that area though. Most people head to the North or South coast areas. South is very quiet but a lot cleaner and nicer. North is where you will find most action. Mtwapa, Bamburi, Nyali areas. Airbnbs in Mombasa you never really know until you get there what they are like, they are certainly the way to go in Nairobi. What is your budget per night? I can then give you a few ideas.
I have lived on and off in Mombasa but the last year or so got the Thai bug for holidays.

I have never experienced joiner fees anywhere in the world, so I don't really know about them. I don't use traditional hotels in Nairobi anymore. Too much drama at the counter in almost all the time. Kenyans love to get passive income through ABB, and my fav spot is Woodmere serviced apartments. Its very quiet, and lots of scenic greenery on the grounds. They have a small store on the premises where you can get wine, beer and small snacks. YaYa mall is in walking distance for groceries and booze because Woodmere has a small kitchenette. They have lots of channels for TV during the day or night off from mongering.
My buddy happened to come into Kenya at the same time as me and got two very nice two BR ABB spots in Kilimani, so I have to reevaluate my desire to always stay at Woodmere. I was actually very jealous of his choices. Woodmere can be cheap but small.
Back in the day most mongers stayed in town due to Simmers and Madhouse. Those are gone now, so I see no need to stay in CBD at all anymore. Noisy and full of A holes. The big mosque is buying all the bars around it and closing them to make a booze free buffer around it. I like Kilimani. Uber can take you anywhere in the city and into Westlands, so I see no need to stay in the area either.Thank you very much for this informative reply. I do appreciate it when mongers with actual experience share valuable information. Airbnb seems the route to go, at least in Nairobi. But for Mombasa, I must say, prices seem a little bit out of whack. High price for low value, from what I have seen on the website though.

I actually came to the same conclusion that the price-value proposition in Nairobi is significantly better than in Mombasa, which I have said in the post below, too. Prices in Mombasa appear to be somewhat inflated, at least for more decent looking places. I had a look around the Airbnb website and have yet to find something reasonable in terms of price and value. I am from Thailand so usually $25 gets me something fairly nice, and I realize I am spoiled in this regard.
As for my preference, I would of course prefer something safe and reasonably priced, say $30-night in a decent looking apartment with good access to Mombasa and up north. If you have an Airbnb recommendation for a host that can accommodate me and my steady flow of WG, that would be great and highly appreciated!
I should have added that I have no interested staying in an Airbnb where the host is living next door or where the security tries to bully me each night into making a 500 KSH donation.

You can get some local hotels in Mtwapa for that price if you want to be there in the hustle and bustle women aplenty. Thailand offers much much better accommodation than Kenya. When you going? I guess beforehand if you want me to s an airbnb to see what is available then can narrow you down to a few.
