Fiddler mate,

In answer to your question regarding the daily rate: Bamburi Beach resort. I payed 4500kes, it was explained to myself by management that it is now high season. I pointed out to them, the boarding on the beach stated a rate of 3500kes per day. They responded by telling me, this is only a promotional rate.

However, depending on the time of year, you can negotiate a lower rate as you no doubt did in paying 3000kes daily.

I did not have any argument about the rate as there were two of us, we had a wonderful stay, and to repeat myself: i believe this is "the spot to stay" in Bamburi Beach.

So went to indiana.

Did you have problem in taking in girls for the night? They asked tip or always id?

I'll be there in novembre again, I hope that is low season:.)

Since the change in the board I propose again my question from the general thread:

Someone has recent news how's the mongering situation there now? Read about new discos and pubs and better nightlife.

I'll be in mombasa area in November and would like to have a change from Nyali-bamburi and check there and maybe even more south (Shimoni)

What about Watamu (I see the pictures and thebeach seems very beutiful, but the mongering? )

Thanks for any advice.

I am in the habit of going for a vigorous walk (good excersize for the ankles walking on the waterline where the feet sink in a bit with every step) every afternoon once the sun is getting a little less intense, anywhere between Nyali and Shanzu.

Whenever I am by myself, I get accosted "Hey, Mister, want a massage? " by girls (actually, more often than not women in their 30's) who walk down to you from their "studios" up by the treeline somewhere. It usually doesn’t take much to refuse the offer because I find most of them utterly unattractive.

Yesterday was different: I was lazy and chose the short beach between The Reef and Mombasa Beach hotels. I had just started my brisk walk when a young maiden came up, pleasant face, slim and shapely body, nice demeanor; resistance was useless!

Off to her shack we went (she was a real pleasure to walk behind, with her prominent ass nicely filling out her tight fitting jeans) which is located behind a row of beach "stores". Not much privacy I thought, but it was clean, with a full length paper towel on the bed. She half-closed a curtain separating my massage table from the rest of the room. She asked me to strip down to my underpants, which I did and I expected her to do the same, however she did not. When I asked she explained that they are regulated by some licencing authority and are forbidden to give nude or topless massages and that every now and then spot checks are being made.

Anyhow, she started by washing the sand off my legs and feet, before she made me lie down on my tummy. She then spent a long time massaging between my toes and dealing with some of the different nerves which are supposed to end in your soles (now I know for sure that they do), just like a real RMT. After thus getting me thoroughly relaxed, she slowly worked her way up my legs and thighs, all the way until her fingers ended up underneath my boxers. Rather than having to answer questions at home why my CK’s are full of babyoil, I slipped them off. She took full advantage of that and massaged my buttocks thoroughly while every now and then, as if by error, lightly touching my soft parts, which soon didn’t deserve that name anymore. Finally, I heard the flip command, I could hardly wait any longer. She now stood next to my face, leaning forward and displaying her ample breasts which were bulging out of her bra (2 numbers too small – I don’t know why many Africans do that) begging to be set free. I unsnapped the clasps of her bra (with 2 fingers only, btw – that’s a skill which always upset my wife: "where did you learn to do that? "), stroked her nipples and then took one breast in my mouth, and then alternated. My hand was searching for her pussy and she eagerly pressed herself against my fingers while quickly unzipping herself and revealing a clean shaved snatch with a small landing strip above. She guided my finger in and was deliciously wet and oh so tight!

However when I motioned her to jump onboard, she declined and said "not here, I will get fired if I am found out" and pulled away from me, but came back for more fingering every now and then (seems it’s not only hard for guys to resist temptation).

She didn’t even dare give me a BJ and finished me off by hand, which was kind of anti-climactic.

I paid her the standard charge of 600/- (plus a tip). She walked me back to the beach and once out of earshot of other people we arranged for me to pick her up at the matatu stop outside the Reef at 5. 15. After a drink at the hotel bar I quickly visited the pharmacy at Nakumatt to replenish my supply of generic Viagra before I swung by and she jumped into the car, looking sexier than before. Thanks God the ugly bra was gone and she snuggled up close and her hand was in my crotch all the way to Mtwapa. She directed me to a Guest House (one I hadn’t been to before) and we quickly did the deed (DFK, BBBJ, mish and doggie. Her energy was boundless and so was her enthusiasm for wild rough sex. No anal allowed, but I am quite confident I’ll get her there in good time.)

She’s certainly a keeper but I think I’ll skip the massage part in future.

The Big Tree Bar & Resto has 2 cottages on the property with maybe 12 or so rooms between them, I've been told.

The current ( i.e.High Season rate ) is said to be 3,500/- for a double or 2,500/- for a single . Haven't been inside of any of them but have been told that they are clean and reasonable well furnished.

The location surely can't be beat.

LustyHombre

The high season rates are

- 2,500 /night for a king size bed w. kitchen and shower

- 2,000/night for same w/o kitchen but at least a small fridge.

They don't charge extra for a 2nd "guest" .

The rooms are "hard furnished" i.e. very basic but clean.

The manager's name is Francis Njuguna . His office # is +254.41.548.6359 or email [Email address deleted by Admin]

Thanks for any advice.Since nobody else came forward as yet : Have staid at a Diani Beach hotel a few times but always with my SO , i.e. couldn't partake in nightlife. There are lots of young tourists, several large nightclubs (Shaqattack stands out) and a few beach restaurants , and I've seen quite a few girls patrolling the beach at Sundowner Time . Seems all the ingredients are there for a successful experience.

Haven't been to Watamu in 20 yrs ; sorry

Real briefly. You should try all those places you mention. But I don't think you'll find much brewing in Shimoni. But who knows. It's way down there. You could even try Wasini Island while you're down there. I think there are one or two little guest houses in Shimoni/Watamu. Best for the snorkeling and fishing.

Watamu you will find plenty of action. However, I'm always blown away by the prices there. Beer at a place comparable to a Big Tree will cost you around 180 shillings. Criminal. You'll also find lots of Germans and especially Italians at high season. You also get younger, more local girls, rather than the girls from upcountry who make their way to Mombasa and Mtwapa.

Malindi and the Stardust/Stars and Garters circuit is always a good bet as well. Give that a try if you head up toward Watamu.

I have been in August in Fontana at Bamburi Beach

I liked the hotel very much for its totally girlfriend attitude, but I fear it will be too hot without Air conditioned in December when I'll go back there. Expecially since I like to have action in the hot afternoon in my room. :.)

Can you indicate me some totally girlfriendly and indipendent apartment or cottage in bamburi area, with A/C at about 2000-2500 KSH as I was charged in fontana?

Or do you think December is still bearable without A/C?

Thanks

There are clubs, etc, in Watamu, I just don't know the area as well as Malindi. One strategy for a daring soul would be to take a matatu to Malindi up from Mombasa. Jump off at the turn-off for Watamu. It's another matatu ride down to the end, but try jumping into one of those bars at the junction. It's a stone's throw from Gede ruins and a friendly area. There's also lots of palm wine there, mnazi. You could also find a bodaboda guy with a bicycle to take you down to Watamu nice and slow. He'll help you find anything you want. Or ask someone to get some palm wine, then work your way down toward Watamu. Watamu will be almost all Giriama, and they think everyone is Italian. Don't expect "jambos, " you'll get "Ciao! " You'll find plenty of women and learn a lot about what's up in Watamu.

In short ....NO! during December you will have temperatures in the region of 30 degree celsius, and this is at midnight. Think you can sleep in a non A/C room with this heat, i doubt so?

Stayed at Fontana back in March, as you say, nice place, but for the life of me i cannot figure why management do not install A/C. I suppose for that they could boot the price upwards 3500 - 4500kes per night.

You will be hard pressed to find any cheaper accommodation in Bamburi, read my recent trip report, stayed at Bamburi beach resort, 4500kes negotiable, well worth it in my opinion. This will place right in the heart of the beach action.

From the veranda you will be able to observe all the comings and goings on the beach regarding the chickies. See photo thread.

- the guards at the entrance caused always problems taking girls in at night, they asked for some money every time to let her in (though the manager claimed resort is Girlfriendly but only with id)

- the rooms had no double beds but only two single beds together and I don't like it.

Is it still this way or you didnt have such problems?

4500 is realy expensive. But it depends how long you stay. I will come
next year for 5 weeks so i get a long term rate.
Search for yellow pages; i prefer private apartments. I can do what i want
and i need no pool; because for the daily "shot" i spend my time at
bamburi beach. Gents; avoid the expensive beach resorts.

Have fun

Have funReally expensive is 8, 000/- which you pay at the (reportedly quite posh) Mweza Resort located on the beach right North of Big Tree.

Knock at the gate of the (rundown) property immediately North of Mweza (no name board on the gate and I don't have a phone #) and you will be in a complex of 3 or 4 cottages, a bit set back from the beach but with direct access to it. I was in one of them yesterday morning (with a girl I picked up at Big Tree; she knows the caretaker of that place. We drove in, she had the askari call her rafiki. I slipped him 500/- and he opened one of the cottages for us and let us use it for the next several hours): 3 bedrooms, 1 shared bathroom, kitchen with eat-on counter, sitting room with sliding door leading to a patio facing the beach. Very simply furnished but clean. Believe they charge something like 2, 000 during the offseason and 3, 000/- during high season. Hard to beat for the value, especially if you know 2 guys to share it with.

I have heard the most efficient way of securing accomodation here is to just hire a cab for a few hours (set a flat rate of 200/hr) and drive into all the side roads leading to the beach off the Malindi Rd and just have your driver ask an askari at any gate whether he knows of any cottages or appartments for rent (they call it "to let" in Kenya-English). The closer you are to the beach, the more tolerable will it be w/o A/C, even during the hot months of the year (Nov-Mar).

quick thing. i was slightly confused by lusty hombre's "mweza resort. " then i realized, it's the new hotel where mombasa [CodeWord118] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord118) used to be located. it's actually called "pa pweza, " not mweza (little typo). pa pweza means place of the octopus. anyway, it's expensive but wonderful. great location, just next to big tree and cheers. they have one and two bedroom apartments. but you're looking upwards of 8, 000/- per night. but very posh. almost worth getting the tour to just go see the rooms (that's what i did).

i agree with lusty hombre, you can find cheaper right next door. even sai rock, which is just up a bit, is cheaper and very nice. my favorite is honesty indiana, which is under construction but still has its apartments open. they are a short walk from the beach and if you show up and say you live in the area and are looking to just chill out at a place that will give you a good rate, they should give you 2, 000 or a little more per day. the manager is a nice indian lady. if you say someone recommended it to you she should give you a great rate. can't beat the value for an apartment with kitchen. then again, they did say something about only being able to bring one guest to your room during the time i stayed there. that can probably be overcome.

the main problem is that bamburi beach is such a pain to walk on because there are too many beach boys and people selling stuff.

I've returned from my first ever visit to Kenya, where I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I only stayed at Bamburi, and first I'm going to report on the costs and other practical matters that I found.
Hotels: The Kenya Bay Hotel charged 3706 ksh per night, including breakfast and High Tea. However, they would charge around 2000 extra if you had a guest stay over!
Next to it is the Kahama Hotel. Only 3150 for a single room including breakfast. If you have an overnight guest, they will charge you 250 only, or you can take her for breakfast, which also costs 250. A more civilised option, I think.
Bamburi Beach Resort charges 3500 per night including breakfast, 3000 if you stay for a while. They've no extra charge if you have a guest sleep over.
The other hotels in that part of the beach were priced a lot higher.
Taxis: I got my hotel to get me a taxi the first night, & I used the same guy every time. He would drive me to wherever, wait a few hours for me to finish then drive me back. He charges 200 from the above hotels to Cheers/Pirates/Big Tree, 600 to Tembo/Bobs/Causarina, 700 to Casablanca & Florida. These are return prices, and he was happy to wait for me. He also charged 1200 to the airport!
The local vans (Matutus?) drive along the main road, and cost 30 from 1 end of Bamburi to the other. They're very frequent, even late at night.
Money: The closeby Barclays bank has a minimum commision of 300, so I found it better to use the exchange places by the Nakumat supermarket. There is a post office close by Barclays.
Malaria: I didn't see, never mind get bit by, a single mozzie. I'm still taking the tablets my doctor gave me though. He chose Doxycycline, rather than a quinine based drug. I was required to get a Yellow Fever certificate as I was flying onwards to Thailand.
Girl costs: My driver said pay between 1000 to no more than 1500 for all night with a girl. I paid 1000 to 2000 for the 7 girls I had. Only 1 girl complained, but she was just trying it on. She still tried to get me to take her every time I saw her afterwards. Fat chance. This is good money for them. My hotel's pool attendent told me his monthly salary is 6000, and he has an unemployed wife and 4 kids to support. The hotel engineer is on 10000 per month.
Food: I found the food quite expensive, not being able to consider the local places. I liked Yul's very much, with excellent grub and an great view of the beach (just like Noddy's view from the Bamburi Beach resort). I was surprised at what a good selection of groceries and essentials was available at the Nakumat supermarket. You can buy most anything there.
Heat: It was hotter than anything Ive experienced in Asia or the Med. Much hotter.
More reports to follow.
I've attached a map for reference.

I belive that Max (my hero) was right when he said in this forum that most of the girls are available. That's the impression I got. Other than the happily married ladies, I felt nobody was impossible for me to bed if I put in some groundwork.
The girls were all very friendly, and spoke English well. I was also pleasently surprised as to what good conversationalists many were, as compared to the girls in Thailand or China who can't string 2 sentences together.
They are taller and more muscular than I'm used to, and I enjoyed the novelty. I was disapointed that there weren't too many girls with huge baps (I guess West Africa's the place for melons) but was delighted at the huge booties. It seemed even skinny girls were blessed with gorgeous, round backsides. Wonderful to see.
Most of the girls said they didn't want an African man. I don't know if this was bullshit or not, but the reasons they gave were that African men beat them, leave after getting them pregnant, and are lazy. 2 gals said that local men offer no romance. I found out that by "Romance" they meen foreplay. In other words, the local guys are into wham bam thank you ma'm.
The places to pick up girls I liked best in Bamburi were the Tembo disco, Cheers bar, and the beach. I never made it to Causarina or Pirates. I went to Bob's once, but it was mainly couples there, berift of my prey. Walking around anywhere you're going to get a lot of eye contact and inviting smiles.
I also tried the Casablanca and Florida clubs on Mombasa Island, which were heaving with hookers.
I found that in the discos, it didn't require any work to pull the girl of my choice. All that I did was to look at the girl. When she sees you looking, she'll come over. No need for fancy chatup lines or putting in the hours on the dancefloor.
The girls are lovely, sexy as hell and great in the sack. I had the full GFE with every one I took.
I've attached a pic of the Tembo disco which has a 150 entrance charge for the disco area. It is choca full of girls at night, and has a Ladies Night on Fridays. Also a pic of Cheers, a German run pub that always has naughty wenches hanging around.

I was told that the Florida disco has shows on Wednesday nights (actualy Thursday mornings) so I chose that evening to venture out to Mombasa Island.
Upon arriving at Florida around midnight, I had to pay 200 KSH for entrance. I walked downstairs to the bar and bought a Tusker for 140 ksh. Then I had a wander around the place. It's huge, with pool tables, TVs and a big dance floor. I got a lot of glances and approaches from the girls, but to be honest I was disapointed by the quality. I went back to the bar and sat down. Then, a tall exotic-looking chick came close. Smokin' hot, she was. She chatted a bit, and said she was Ethiopian. She told me to walk with her, so we went to a deserted part of the disco. Then she began kissing and groping me, which did the trick. I asked her if she wanted to come back to mine, but she said she couldn't, as she was obliged to stay at Florida until closing. She was some sort of employee then if she was telling the truth. She countered that there were rooms above, and that we could go there for a quickie. How much I asked. 100 USD said she, plus 500ksh for the room.
I nearly choked on my beer. When she asked how much I'd pay, I said maximum 1500 for short time, meening 1000 for her if I had to pay 500 for the room. She dismissed this as ridiculous, and began lowering her price, all the while stroking my engorged crank. 5000 she said, then 4000, then 2000. At last she said 1500, plus 500 for the room. I held firm, and sadly declined. She walked away, so I went back to the bar. Moments later she returned agreeing (what a surprise) to my price, but the way she said it was angrily, so I refused her again. No point in going with her if she was unhappy, as it would inevitably be a poor shag.
At 12:30, some quite gorgeous young things climbed atop the bar and began the show. This was basicly just erotic dancing. The gals were dressed in sexy underwear, and gyrated & stretched just inches from my widely stareing eyes. Horny as hell. However, as I didn't know the score there, and had been shocked at the Etheopians price demands, I didn't try to get one of the dancers. If anyone can clarify the situation with these girls at Florida, I'd be grateful.
I left at around 1am, and my driver took me to Casablanca. No entrance fee there, and about 5 times as many women. I was having to fight them off. After a while a tall statuesque horndog walked in, with half her magnifincent arse hanging out. I decided she was to be that night's catch, so I stood by the dancefloor and looked her in the face. She soon came over and before I knew it, we were heading back to mine for a bit of how's your father. Photos in the Photo section.

Yeah, there are a few foreign exchange places beside the Nakumat supermarket. They change cash or travelers cheques. Also, there's a Barclays Bank close to Bamburi Beach resort, but as I mentioned, it charges a minimum commision of 300 KSH each time.

It is such a great report.

I'm looking for a hotel in this area for Dec. Did Kahama have AC? I have heard mixed views on how girl friendly Bamburi Beach Resort is. Did you bring them back late night and still paid no bribe or nothing to the guard? Did you experience many beach people hassling you at Bamburi or could you relax without unwanted disturbance?

At the side of Cheers there is a food shop that changes money at favourable rates. Normally the rate is one Shilling less than the average rate stated in the Daily Nation newspaper. Anyway you get more than at other places. It is also good to haggle and requesting one Shilling more than the buying rate of the shopkeeper. There are also forex bureaus in Mombasa town with good rates. To change at the banks is not good. Also the forex exchange at Nakumatt give poor rates. The best rate is plastic money. Myself I use often a Cash Card (Cirrus) with good rates and protection against theft or loss. Only inconvenience is that in Mombasa I can cash only at Stanbic Bank. Otherwise no problems in all Kenya.

But i`n mot sure that this is the right way.

Just to expand on what Taurus said.

Next to Cheers there are 2 shops that change money.

One directly next to Cheers and the food shop directly next to that.

You can play them off each other for the best rate but do it discreetly as it causes bad vibes between the two businesses.

Try and give your business to the food shop one as he is the more genuine trader. ie he will give you his best rate upon 1st quote. Also he will take you to a back room out of view where you can undo your trousers to put your wedge in your money belt etc.

The other shop is more hassley and you'll be in full view when hiding your wedge.

Did Kahama have AC?
Yes, Kahama has AC
I took girls back in the afternoon, around midnight & also as late as 3am. I never had any bother, and always just walked boldly past the security guards and receptionists. I was never stopped or hit on for cash. At each hotel, I made sure I knew beforehand exactly the score on taking guests back to my room, just so I couldn't be blackmailed later by a guard. Get the conditions in writing if you are still worried.
I found that you'll inevitably be approached on the beach and main road by men striking up a conversation which inevitably leads to them trying to sell you something or asking for a handout. This can get tiresome quite quickly. Lots of ladies will disturb you too, but this isn't so irritating.

Barclays do charge a minimum 300 ksh charge for cash exchanges at the Bamburi branch. I did later make a cash withdrawal from their ATM machine, and having since recieved my statement I can tell you that the exchange rate was fine, and I was only charged about 4 usd. On my next visit I'll be relying on the ATMs rather than taking cash or TTs to change.

I heard similar, if not identical comments when I was in Nairobi. Seems the African guys just rolll em over, put it in and finish up pretty quickly. Ditto on the beating front. Apparently, the law does not consider it much of a big deal throughout sub-Saharan Africa to beat up your wife and/or girlfriend and whats just as bad, the women seem to expect it as a fact of life when dealing with African men.

Wow, they're crazy prices. Have you tried the Kahama or Kenya Bay hotels yet?
I remember there's a board inside the Nakumat where people put up notices for things they want to sell, services offered etc. When I looked at it I saw a fair selection of ads for apartements, rooms, villas and hotels. I know this is not much help to you before arrival, but may help if you find yourself in need while in Bamburi.

I will be in bamburi/nyali next month and would like to try kahama, id be grateful if you can give some more informations:

- you wrote that you payed 3150 for one single, what do you mean, single bed or double bed but just 1 person? For a double I have been told 4500KSH (yesterday by email), so I think I'll just show up and see

- you payed 250KSH for each guest like you wrote in a previous message or nothing?

- no ID check for guests, just walk in and go to the room?

- how are the rooms and the beds? I just need big bed with good mosquito net, no other luxury.

- if I remember correctly kahama is not on the beach, right? Is it near and easy to go to the beach, there is a road? And is it safe at night?

Thanx

Hi Fidler
Of the hotels I stayed in, I'd say the Kahama is the best if you are travelling alone, but if you are with a mate, the Bamburi Beach Resort may be better, as they have 2 rooms connected that share a large balcony with kitchen.

I had a single room at the Kahama, but it had a double bed. I've attached pics, so you can see. It was nice, with Mozzie net, cable tv, aircon etc. Only criticism is that the rooms are without fridges. You are left a complimentary bottle of water each day. No need to book a double, a single is fine for you and your nocturnal guests.
The price includes breakfast, which was a fruit salad, cereal with milk, then eggs, toast, sausages and bacon, with juice and coffee of course. Better than that in the Bamburi Beach Resort's IMO.
If you have a guest stay after midnight, you will be charged 250 KSH, but not if you take her for breakfast that morning, you just pay for the food in the restaurant (also 250ksh) Six and two threes.
The security guards and receptionists never stopped me or asked for a guests id.
Kahama is not on the beach. To get to the beach, you can walk behind the hotel and through the grounds of the Kenya Bay Hotel, or turn right up a little path and go through where Yul's restaurant is, or turn right and go down one of the little paths. It takes 2 minutes to reach the beach. Of course, Bamburi Beach Resort and Kenya Bay have the advantage of being right on the beach, if that's your preference.
To get to the main road from the Kahama, you need to walk up a dirt road, about 50 meters. At night, the security guard will escort you if you wish, and wait with you until you're inside a taxi or Matatu.
It is most definetly not safe to walk around at night. Despite there being lots of hotels and clubs along the main road, there are unlit stretches between them all. The other side of the road has a wall, and behind that is jungle, where desperate gangs lie in ambush. 2 locals were jumped on and chopped with machetes along the highway while I was there.
This is the main drawback with Bamburi. You are forced to go by Taxi at night, even for the shortest journey. At the Kahama, I was unable to go to Yul's for dinner, as I dared not take the 3 minute walk in the dark. I'm not going to take a taxi for 100 meters! The Bamburi Beach resort is more accesable to the places around it at night. However, if you plan to go to the likes of Tembo, Black Havana and Causarina at night, it makes no difference.

As I already mentioned, I was blown away by how friendly, approachable, articulate and athletic the girls I met in Mombasa were.
I noticed that almost every girl I saw was wearing a thong. I seems thongs are the underwear of choice among Kenyan ladies. They look fantastic on full black backsides. This was such a pleasent surprise for me as a resident of Asia where even the most trendy young Chinese girls can usually be found wearing huge knickers that would put my granny to shame!
Most of the Kenyan girls were trimmed downstairs too. And they smelled nice, and seemed very hygenic. No bad smells, no bad breath.

I was told to pay 1000 to 1500 KSH to a girl for all night.
However, the engineer in my hotel said that local guys sometimes go to the discos and will pay no more than 500 ksh for a girl. Only in low season do they have much success, he complained, because the girls just ignore the black guys when there are tourists around.
I also saw lots of Masai warriors around. They, however, are after white female tourists to be their benefactors. Gigalos! I saw lots on the beach, and even in the Tembo disco, dancing in full tribal dress. When I asked a girl about this, she said they have a reputation among visting women as being "good at sex." I'd heard the opposite, having read the story of that English woman who married a Masai.
Anyway, I never actually saw a Masai coupled with a tourist. However, I saw a few quite old white women with tall, Rasta looking guys.
The whole time there, I never felt intimidated, nor in competition with, any local guys when in the clubs, pubs and discos.

I found this to be a great place to have lunch or an afternoon drink. The food was top notch, though a little expensive. It offers a great view of the beach where you can watch the massage ladies, camels, tourists and beach babes go by. With a Tusker in your hand and a nice breaze from the Indian Ocean keeping you cool, it's heaven.
There may be local lasses there sometimes, sipping a drink in the hope they'll meet a rich tourist. I got chatting with 2 young gals one lunchtime, and within an hour they were offering to come back to my hotel room, on the pretext of seeing which paperback books I had with me, belive it or not!
Yul's is next to Bamburi Beach Hotel, a few minutes from Bamburi Beach Resort.
I know Noddy recomended the view from the Bamburi Beach Resort. I tried that too, and it's nice. A very relaxing, well situated spot. The food there is quite a bit cheeper, too.
I enjoyed my visit to Kenya so much, that I'm hoping to go again in February or March. I hope my reports have been useful to some, and hope you all have good times if you visit Mombasa.

I try now many weeks to find an apartment; sometime i gave up. The prices
without pool or aircon are ridicolous; i would never pay 44 euro/day if i stay
more than one month. Try www.mombasainfo.com. They will give you
adresses or try the yellowpages of kenya. And forget the internet access in
your room; if you get a radio or sat-tv you will be happy.

i think a lot of people on this forum misunderstand what some of the more experienced contributers have to say/warn.

someone left a message in another area that we are trying to warn people girls aren't friendly and things are looking bad or some nonsense.

i don't know how else to make the point but this: if you come to my hometown, there are a lot of easy women if you know how to talk to them, find them, and make them trust you. if you go to coastal kenya, things aren't any different.

know where you're going, have a clean heart, look for a good time, don't be stupid, and trust your wits, and you'll be fine. in other words, learn about kenya, learn some swahili, be able to blend in and get into the fabric of the place, and you'll never leave.

try to find heaven with high speed internet and a/c and you're not being realistic.

and i'm sorry to say that.

if you don't know what you're dealing with, it can suck, i'm sure. realism is not pessimism.

Leave your money in the hotel safe at the front desk. Its a safe as houses. Left thousands of euros there, in cash, no problem.

yesterday morning , on my way back from zanzibar ( see separate report ) i picked up a daily nation at the airport and was shocked to read that a german ( didn't say whether he's a tourist or a resident ) was in a msa court sometimes last week , standing accused of having had sex with an **** girl plus being in posession of pornographic material . his case was held over till mid jan and it seems the court allowed him to post bail plus deposit his passport with them.

seems the kenya tourist police's job goes beyond protecting tourists from local hoodlums ; i expect i will get some background info from some of my local "girlfriends" over the next few days .

in any case , prudence dictates that you should always ask to see her id before you commit to anything . be smart and safe !

Before I go back home for a few months (Thanksgiving with the kids in TX, then back to Canada to catch a flight to Cuba, then Christmas and New Year at Mont Tremblant with toute la famille, hopefully shovelling lots of snow, before heading back to Kenya sometimes in Feb) I thought you might be interested in my observations and experiences over the last 5 months:

I’ve made a pretty large number of conquests during this time, mostly by sitting under the makuti roof at Big Tree around noon and watching the "parade". Sometimes I changed location to either the beach bar at Il Covo or at the Mombasa Beach Hotel, but I prefer the overall ambience at Big Tree.

-Most girls on the beach beat don’t seem to last long (you see new faces all the time). I understand that, after getting the hang of it on the beach, they "graduate" to become Tembo Girls (I. E. Night time only – where the real money is I suppose). They are all recent arrivals from upcountry (mainly Kikuyu, Luo, some Turkana, Taita, Kamba, Somali); I have not met a single local girl, I. E Giriama or Digo

-They are mostly in their (very) early 20’s and quite "green" but eager to learn

-Many are single moms and have a kid back home to provide for

-Most graduated from High School but didn’t have the money to continue to Varsity or a Vocational College. Inspite of all the odds against them, they are determined to ultimately better themselves. (Bravo! ) Their short-term game plan is to make as much mullah as they can by prostituting themselves for a little while. And maybe meet Mr Right in the process and be taken to Europe or the US (You can dream, can’t you? )

-Physically they are mostly slim and trim with a prominent behind but (sadly) mostly sagging tits. However, I much prefer the natural state over all the saline and silicone back home.

-In the sack most of them show their inexperience: they like to DFK, and some get quite aggressive over time (I had a few repeats), but only a minority know how to administer a proper BJ. Most need some serious coaching in that dept. And some even refuse it outright as being "yacky"! They all seem to really like mish and doggie, and many give as good as they take. Greek is a definite "no, no, never" for all but a tiny minority.

-On the plus side: almost all insist in always using a condom, many even for BJ! (I have had many more offers of BBFS in North America and Europe than in Kenya)

That's all I can think of right now + hope that my random observations are of some help in sensitizing newcomers to the local scene.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread. Please Click Here (http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/announcement-reportsofdistinction.php?) for more information.

Is it not possible to rent a private girlfriendly condominium in the northern area; like near the nakumatt ?There are apartments to rent on or near the beach. Going rent for one a friend of mine has is KSH 30,000 per month, although this is a long term price, includes water and electricity; a bunch of hookers hang out near the beach at the bottom of his garden. Apparently they occasionally ask for a drink of water, this translates as "Do you want to fuck me?" ha ha ha. In terms of finding apartments, there are very few advertised on the internet, although a walk down the road near Nakumatt will get a pile of numbers and details you could explore. If you can't get there yourself maybe you could find a helper to help? Could get you some numbers from some girls out there who'd do it for a small fee. PM for more.

Alternative is to book into a hotel like Indiana which rents studio flats (bedroom, kitchen, shower) and will allow ladies in. You can go by the front desk and they'll be asked to provide their ID card, and you may be asked to pay an additional KSH 1000 for the privilige. Alternatively, ask the Askari on the side gate ( for "mlangu nyuma") and a few bob he will let you pass. Always tell them you are going for a cup of tea! Anyway a couple of days there exploring you should be able to find a place to rent. Indiania is $70 US per night for the studio.

Gotta be honest, with all this info here, I've lost the plot a bit.

Can anyone recommend, somewhere cheap to stay, I'm on a tight budget, how much will a girl friendly place near the beach, with hotwater and safety deposit boxes cost me. I feel A/C is not important, is this wise, thanks in advance for any help. Gav.

If you are on a tight budget then forget the beach.

Try Hotel Georgias in Mtwapa. 1000/night. gf. Little Chef, which is a cheap and good african restaurant, is nearby.

If you want hot water and safety deposit boxes then that means you arn't so low budget. Places like that in low season would be around 3k/night minimum i guess.

... I asked a hotel in Mombasa if they allowed overnight guests via email and the answer in writing was a straight "No". When I arrived it was explained to me by the madam that I was allowed girlfriends in my room, they just have to be registered at the desk when you bring them, no extra charge. When I protested "I can't beieve you are saying this (in front of a rather sexy receptionist), got a broad smile and told "This is Mombasa". They are just being discreet until they see you face to face....Hi Kampala, which hotel in Mombasa would that be? What did you pay? I'm going there for New Year and haven't booked anything yet.

I take all (last) time the fontana hotel. No probs with the girls. You pay 30 Euro for the the room per night (allone or together with the lady) its with a breakfest for 2. And you can share the girls with your neighbor.

The place is an ideal hideout for lovers , but utterly unsuitable if you are single and looking for "action" . It's about a 1/2 km walk on a bush track to the Mombasa-Diani road , i.e. not advisable for a foreigner at night ( safe during daytime though ) . You're better off staying at one of the Diani beach hotels, if its got to be the South Coast .

That particular stretch of the Malindi Hwy seems to be always busy with pedestrians and people waiting for matatus, I. E. I doubt any half-smart street robber would choose such a busy location to ply his trade.

Sounds like you're saying that my being there and witnessing the aftermath of an attack in the hotel (hearing the people screaming/ leaving my hotel room for the front entrance to investigate / seeing the woman crying, trembling in fact / her cut man bleeding right in the hotel parking lot / my taxi driver actually taking the poor guy to the hospital) and speaking directly with the female victim and other bystanders of the whole attack is not sufficient to bear witness for this forum. Perhaps I needed to have had an arm hacked off personally with a photo of that stub and stamped passport as well posted to be considered credible?

All sarcasm aside, what's simple Lusty is that no one needs you to tell them what hearsay is, what is good info and what is bad info. No one needs you to tell them how to read or think. You should give up that posture of authority, and when it comes back just be quiet instead.

You should give up that posture of authority, and when it comes back just be quiet instead. With all due respect, Jobair, your original post sounded like hearsay whereas the above details obviously are of a different quality.

I apologize if I come across like I am trying to nanny anybody. No intention whatsoever.

My concern simply is that this should be a place with actionable info for ho'mongers and not a forum for rumor mongerers and scare mongerers.

Very brief report on Mombasa. Visited Xmas 07.

Casablanca is a little bit more upmarket from when I was there before. Less dodgy / hassly birds, more classier birds. Music is way more with it also.

But there is definitely more YOUNGER birds, so be careful who you pick. There were a few 15 year olds in there and a lot of 17y olds. Even in broad daylight; during the day.

I was asking a lot of the girls their age and some even admitted they were 17.

They were all dolled up and had sexy dresses on etc but do yourselves a favour and have a good look at the chicks you will be taking back.

Apparently there is no age of consent in Kenya but I think a very sensible golden rule is to only fuck 18y+ if you are a muzungo in Africa.

Prices: I was amazed at how cheap I was getting some of these chicks. I got fairly hot looking chicks for 600-800KSh short time. This is only in Casablanca. In Tembo a long time is more like 1500. (Im 37, average looks, slightly overweight)

Tembo was a big disappointment over the festive season as they charged chicks for admission fee on all the usual ladies nights where its usually free so there was nowhere near as many chicks on those nights.

In summary, I would avoid Kenya over the festive season. A lot of prices go up by up to 50%. I had more fun and my money went much further in low season.

Still had a great time though.

Totally agreed, Jim01! However, the age it is not alway easy to verify and all of us know that not every cuty tells us the truth about it! Many girls don't have proper documents and sometimes even these papers are faked! So, in case of any doubt it might be wise 'better to say no'!

IMHO and according to my experience in Africa and Asia.

I can only stress what Jobair says about
At Fontana beware of standing out front at night
This was at 7 pm, not even dark yet and I had seen my daytime girl friend off at the matatu stop just 10 m. to the right of the Fontana entrance. As I turned to go back to the hotel there suddenly was two men in front of me, both of them with pangas. One grabbed my left wrist and they shouted "Stop, we cut you" and then both of them hit me on my shoulders with the flat side of the pangas. I remember I started to reach for my wallet, but then some other part of my brain reacted: I jerked my hand free and run like a rabbit in the opposite direction, turned right towards the beach and found my way back to the hotel. Ordered a double whisky while I caught my breath.

The masai "security" at the gate later confirmed that it happens quite often that people are jumped at just after a matatu has left.

Now for some hearsay (sorry LustyHombre): When I told this story to a girl at Cheers she said she and her muzungu catch of the night had been mugged walking from the road down to Kahama hotel. The guy wanted to save money by taking a matatu, but that cost him dearly: The muggers took his waist bag with everything, and when he asked them to give back his passport and credit cards they started cutting him. He got deep wounds in the back and spent several days in the hospital. (The girl lost her money and her mobile, and she she said was still visting the guy occasionaly in the hospital).

Lesson learned: Don't ever walk or stand on the road in dark. Always take a taxi.

I stayed the X-mas week in Bamburi beach and I learned more lessons, but more on that later.

Sorry Barri; i used 100 times the matatu at the road; in mtwapa and at the
bank near cheers; never ever something happened.

Sorry Barri; i used 100 times the matatu at the road; in mtwapa and at the
bank near cheers; never ever something happened. Thanks Steve, I've also used the matatus a lot and even walked along the road in early evening and "never ever something happened". Then it happened. I was lucky to escape without any cuts or losses. So now I figure there is only one way for me to eliminate the risk: Take a taxi at night.

There are thousands stories about robbery on the road. The thieves can easily escape into the bush, the police will never find them. "It never happens to me" does not mean "it never happens".

All the people I've met (Girls, Taxi Drivers, Hotel workers, Security etc...) told me, that I never ever should walk at night. I don't know, if it's dangerous or not. I haven't seen anything, nor did happen anything to me, but I'm pretty sure, that these things happen sometimes.

You decide if you want to believe these bad stories or not. But I know, that I won't risk my life just to save some small money. From Kahama/Fontana to a Disco or Pub nearby coast you just a few bucks (200 to 400 KES).

Up to you.

It has been said in this forum before that during the X-mas – New Year holidays the hotels hike their rates. The worst case I encountered was Sai Rocks Hotel: When I stayed there just before Easter last year I paid around 5,500. Now they wanted 19,600!!! Nearly the quadruple price!! I passed, of course, and tried a few others:

Bamburi Beach Resort. Left it after one night, couldn’t stand it. Peak price is 10,000 but value is less than 2,000.
Fontana Hotel. Stayed one week. Moved to Kahama when the post election troubles started to get better security.
Kahama Hotel. Stayed five nights. Night security was three guys behind double locked gate: one with baton, one with panga and one with bow and arrow. Felt safe :)

All these three were totally GF: No question of ID, neither at day time or at night time, and no extra money involved.

I obtained information for some other places too, and compiled the attached document, Bamburi beach hotels.doc. Hope someone has use of it.

Of the three hotel above I liked Kahama best (spacy room), but next time (and that won’t be X-mas!) I’d like to try Indiana or why not Big Tree. The Kibaki apartments might be good if you travel with a buddy.

I've tweaked the PERAK map a bit and added GF hotels, ATMs and other places of interest. All of them have been mentioned before, except maybe Safari Inn. Sometimes (Wednesdays?) girls move early from Cheers to there in a hope to pick up muzungus with thicker wallets from Hotel Continental.

The map is not to scale: it only shows the relative locations of the places.

While one should always be concerned about one's personal safety, especially after nightfall walking on a road without street lights, one should be equally careful about believing all sorts of hearsay horror stories; the more people pass them on, the wilder they get.

That particular stretch of the Malindi Hwy seems to be always busy with pedestrians and people waiting for matatus, I. E. I doubt any half-smart street robber would choose such a busy location to ply his trade.Sorry to disappoint you with "horror stories" but I have to confirm the danger. I was assaulted and robbed last month while going back to hotel (kahama, nearly next door to fontana) at night: it was late at night, as soon as I stepped off the matatu and crossed the road to go to the hotel, two guys came out from the jungle and approached me with machete, of course I gave them immediately all my money (luckily only 2000KSH, I never go out with much money in kenya.) and they run away.

There was no other people around and the hotel ascari were too far, they confirmed me it happened many times in the last months and advised always to take taxi in the night.

Inspired by The Lucky One’s excellent pictures I brought some toys (vibrators) on my recent trip, but I found out the hard way that they are illegal in Kenya. I had to bribe myself out of a threatening 15 years – lifetime imprisonment.

It all started at Cheers. First I waited for one girl to call me and confirm a date. When she didn’t call in time I waited for another girl (same who told the story about the mugging outside Kahama), and when she too took too long I moved and sat down next to a pretty girl who had been smiling at me all the evening, Faith is her name. She seemed a bit drowsy, and she talked in a backward twisted way that I could not fully understand, but she had a very pretty face and seemed to have a body matching my specs and she agreed to come with me to Kahama.

Before she undressed I took a picture of her face, but it didn’t come out too well. In the sack she proved she indeed had a very nice body and a sweet pussy, but she was the first star fish experience I have had in Africa. She showed however a little bit of interest in the toys, and she tried one clitoris vibrator, without seemingly enjoying it, and then she tried the G-spot vibrator, but she soon took it out saying somthing like ”Shaking inside”.

We slept and had another uninspiring round in the morning, and when she had dressed I asked if she hadn’t liked any of the toys. Then she grabbed the lilac G-spot vibrator. I said ”If you want this I want to take pictures of your pussy”. She undressed again and we had a short photo session.

In the evening the next day I met her at Cheers and she asked me ”Why you take this pictures?”, and I said I would look at them to remember her. She also said other things I did not understand. Her friend (the Kahama mugging story girl) said to me that she also had great difficulties in understanding what Faith was saying. Anyway; I moved on to Casablanca and gave the girls a lift there.

Next afternoon I again met Faith, this time at Big Tree, and again she asked about the pictures, and I still had problems understanding what she was saying. But as I left she suddenly said: ”I will give you trouble with the police, you understand?”. Like out of the blue!

Anyway, I went straight to the hotel, deleted all nude pictures from the camera and watched the post election riot news on TV.

There was a knock on the door and three policmen came in, one in uniform and two plain in clothes. We started with a friendly chat and then the uniformed (good cop) said that there had been a complaint and they needed to investigate it: A girl had complained that I had taken pornographic pictures of her while she was asleep and against her will. He asked to see my camera, which I gave him.

I explained to the police that in my opinion the girl indeed had given her consent since she had opted for the vibrator and undressed herself after she already had dressed in the morning. When I understood that she was unhappy with the pictures I had deleted them.

Then I made the mistake of showing the other vibrators.

They asked me to come with them to the Tourist Police station (opposite Cheers) and I had no choice.

In the captain’s office the plain clothes policeman (bad cop) took charge. He brought in the girl, whom I of course said I recognized. Again she said something I did not understand but the policeman translated ”Why you open her pussy and take picture”. And at this moment I understood what it was all about: I had taken one picture where I opened her pussy to get some pink, and it was obviously this that had upset the girl so much.

They kept asking about the deleted pictures, if I had more memory cards, if I had a laptop or a flash disk, which I of course hadn’t. I said that if I still had had the pictures I would have proved the girl was awake and co-operating.

Anyway, to cut a long story (two hours in the police station) short, the police showed me excerpts from an appendix to the law, Sexual Assault Act– 2006. One chapter (17?) was about leading someone into prostitution, which could lead to 5 years in jail, and another chapter (22?) was about using objects in the genital areas which could lead to from 15 years to life time imprisonment (or 500,000 KES fine). (The captain seriously said that there was scientific proof that these objects destroyed thousands of nerves in the sensitive areas!) The plain clothes said they were going to press charges. I said I had understood that I, not knowingly, had broken the Kenyan law. He said he was going to start the necessary procedures, taking fingerprints and all that, and then he told me was going to fetch the equipment, and while he was doing that I should find a solution. This was of course a clear hint that a bribe would do the trick.

I pretended for a while I didn’t understand this, but after some time I gave a suggestion of a compensation to the girl and a contribution to the important work of the police, say 30,000 KES. That didn’t seem to be enough.

He came back with the tools and asked if I had talked to the captain yet, but he had been busy, and I said I really wasn’t sure what to say. Then he wrote the figure 50,000 on a paper.

Finally the captain had time to talk to me: I said I had understood I had broken the law, but to save us all some trouble I suggested a compensation of 50,000 KES. The captain was silent for a few seconds, as to think it over, then he said OK.

I fetched my credit card, pulled 50,000 KES from an ATM, went into the police station back room and handed over the money. I asked the captain: ”My name does not appear in any papers?”, and he said ”No papers.”

It was an unpleasant experience, but in a way I’m glad I’ve been through it. But it’s not one I can tell anyone but you guys. What buggers me I didn't see it coming earlier.

If any of you local guys can obtain a copy of this Sexual Assault Act from 2006 and give a summary of what more is illegal it would maybe be enlightning for the forum. (I didn’t have the nerve to return to the police station and ask for a copy ;) ).

The VIP room in Casablanca is really good fun! There are three ”cubicles” with plastic covered sofas (anything might happen) on three sides and a high table with a pole in the middle. The girls dance in about 30 minutes sessions (same girls appear twice), and though they start with a bikini on, they soon get totally naked. If you look interested the dancer approaches you and you can touch her wherever you like, even give her pussy a quick lick (or finger). She will say ”Money”, and you put 100 KES in her stocking. If she likes you she might ask for a beer or a drink.

I had loaded my pockets with 100 KES notes, and I soon got two favourites: Rehema from Tanzania and Cristine. In addition to the notes, I also slipped a small paper with my phone number on it (you have to be prepared!) in their stockings. Rehema was the best dancer (sliding down on the pole upside-down, she unlatched her bra and landed bare-breasted!) with a terrific body, and Cristine had the firmest breast I have held and kissed in Africa.

After the show I went up to the disco and soon Rehema’s friend spotted me and brought me to Rehema. Unfortunately she couldn’t speak English, but she gladly joined me to the hotel. You can’t go wrong with a dancer! One session with amazing sex at night (came to the hotel 4AM) and more than one hour of totally exhausting sex in the morning. She had such a stamina: rode me backwards and forwards when I had to rest. This was in Fontana with just a fan and we were swimming in sweat! Best sex I had for 2000 KES! I told her friend: One night with Rehema makes you happy for two days!

Cristine called me in the afternoon, she said she had fucked another guy last night, next she wanted to fuck me! Good , but when I bought her a drink after the show next evening all hell broke loose: The other girls attacked her for stealing Rehema’s boyfriend! I left the mayhem and found Rehema at the disco. She was a bit sulky first but came with me for a second night. Whew!

So dating VIP dancers is a great experience, but be careful if you plan to double!

The VIP show is on on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, starting at midnight at weekends, but seemingly at 1AM on Wednesdays. Entrance fee is 300 KES, well worth the fun!

Every day of the two weeks I spent in Bamburi the beach was different. Some times crowded, especially on Christmas Day when there were thousands of Kenyans there, sometimes it was deserted like the days when there was post election riots going on nearby.

I like walking the beach, and it was so easy to pick up another beach walker those days the beach was not deserted: Just a greeting, a small chat and off you were. E.g. my first day: I had checked in at Bamburi Beach resort at 11 AM, stayed in the room just a short while to supervise the installation of the AC, then off to the beach. I turned north and and within a minute I noticed a girl walking slowly in the same direction. As I passed her I had a good look at her, saw she had a nice face and promising figure. We said ”Hi” and strolled together along the beach. She had a story, of course: 18 y.o., no house, sleeping on the beach, she wanted to go the her baby in a village outside Nairobi to give her the Xmas gifts but she had no money for the bus fare. Nothing to eat. So I invited her for lunch (first time she had spaghetti) and then up to my room. One good round, some sleep and then another good round. I gave her 1200 and she was happy with that. Of course she didn’t go to her baby the next day: I saw her several times the following days and chatted with her.

Another day a girl in orange bikini waved at me from distance. As I returned I stopped to talk to her: slim, wellshaped body, real beautiful face, but when she said she was from Eritrea I nearly lost interest remembering my ”condom allergy” encounter in Abu Dhabi ( http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=692589&postcount=1134). However, when the tide had come in and we were swimming, she let me finger her pussy and she gave me a handjob, so I thought this Eritrean was different. And she was; she became my daytime girlfriend; she could never stay the night because she had a shop together with her brother in Mombasa, and had to attend to that and also be a ”nice girl” for her brother. After a few days she seemed to become emotionally involved so I asked for a pause and gave her money for a mobile so she could call me. After a two days break she had let her emotions cool off but she was as hot as ever in the bed; she had shaved her pussy specially for me! One day she even brought a friend for a three-some! Some days she apperad in a black abaya with a blouse under but no panties! Pictures of the lovely girl in the Photo section.

The New Year Celebration seemed to become a disaster: Due to the post election riots the disco was closed at Tembo and very few people were there. Due to the riots previous on the day I didn't dare to go to Casablanca (where my VIP girlfriend celebrated her birthday). Just before midnight I went to the beach, but IlCovo wanted 500 KES in entrance fee so I opted out and watched the firework from the two beaches. As I started to walk southwards I met three girls, said ”Hi” to the one in white, and when I looked back she had stopped and was looking at me. A 22 y.o. meru girl working as a model. We had a drink in the moonlight, she said she had no ID but with Fontana that’s no problem. She had some funny comments in bed: ”Oh, you really know how to fuck”, ”Oh, you fuck like a professional”! We had two rounds, then she wanted to go back to her friends so I gave her money for taxi (3000 because it was New Year) and a small perfume bottle. Picture of sweet New Years Carol in the Photo section.

Assuming a girl likes it, is this a common used term in Kenya? Or is this only used if a prostitute wants to make the customer happy ("tell the customer what they like to hear. ")?

I'm asking, because I've met a girl in Kenya, she acted as a non pro, she did not charge me, in fact she did not want any money. She told me I should keep my money so I can come earlier to Kenya again to visit her.

To be honest I'm confused, as I could not figure out her interest in me. My rule, that a girl (especially in the 3rd world) always has got some interest (either money, or marriage, or at least clothes, mobile phone whatever) broke this time.

She made always fun with me and said: "you're a professional! ". So anybody knows, if this is a common saying? Or something which only says the pro at Cheers?

As I've met her at Cheers, I'm almost 100% sure, that she's looking for customers now. But again, why did she want no money? Should I worry? What's wrong?

The map has been corrected regarding location of Pirates (thanks Randy Candy) and the hotel table updated with some information, such as at Fontana you can have a portable AC in your room for 500 KES extra (thanks Jobair).

Two places have not been mentioned before: In Mtwapa there is a new place called Lambada. You can have a decent lunch there while watching cute mothers play with their kids in the pool. There is also a quite small disco floor there, but I was never there in the evening.

At the very north end of Bamburi Beach a new place is just opening up. It’s called Ya’mas and is run be a Greek. As of Jan 2008 only the bar is open, but they have sun chairs right on the beach, so it’s a place to take your daytime girlfriend for a relaxing drink. The hotel part will open later this spring.

Just to the left of the bar there is a massage place. Both Salama and Happy are quite happy to come to your hotel for a massage with a happy ending.

At the top end of the small beach just after Bamburi Beach there is ’cave’ for those who like outdoor activites, see pictures in the Photo section.

Hey, it's great to hear Yamas is back! The Greek owner is great, especially when he gets up and dances on the bar. Yamas opened back in early 2006 just below Reef Hotel over in Nyali. At first you could walk right through the hotel to get to Yamas, but then there was trouble with the owner. Next thing you know, fall of 2006, Yamas gets mysteriously destroyed. But it was one of the best spots on the coast for a few months. Watched Zidane blow the world cup in Yamas.

So it's good to hear that guy's got a better spot. If it's anything like the initial attempt, Yamas will be a quality place.

I passed by Tembo on Friday night and this time it really rocked.

There were plenty of gals.

What really crowned the night were gals who were dancing on the main counter.

One of the gals who was dark and slim removed her white top and danced topless. She had firm small boobs!

Quite a number of men, excluding me, were busy taking videos of her with their phones while teh rest of the club turbed their eyes to her boobs.

And she danced for almost 30 mins while two of her colleagues joined in with their raunchy moves.

Normally that is a good sign when they look at a long term investment, ie pretend for mzungo on night 1 that you dont want money, mzungo gets a bit surprised and think thats a nice girl! later mzungo will normally pay a 100 times that when they start "borrowing" or if they are really lucky mzungo walks right into the trap and falls in love with this " non pro girl".

What's wrong?hey Doronto, i also had a girl like that, do u remember her name?

i think its the same girl who barri is writing at. did u see the pic who barri made?
i am relly curious, because i think she is the same, as u said she is acting like a non pro.

You were definitely taken for a ride, mate! Some of the girls work with dirty cops to scam visitors. I am a Kenyan, so I know the game. Good thing is, only a few play this game, the majority prefer to play fair, knowing they will earn more if the client likes them. Better luck next time!

Thats true.

Remember, I was in cheers last year. Two of us had the same experience:

One "massage" they didn't fixed the price before.

In the end: afterlong diskussions with the police opposide of cheers, they had to pay 6000,. Each.

Even at night on the gate of big tree, several times the police where waiting for "customor". "what are you doing with this girl? ", now you have a big problem, etc. 4000,. KS.

Shit hapen everywhere. So look at the ID before, less truble and "only" 2000. 4000,. By the worst case.

I will give big tree a miss next time.

Thanks for the info, Mukio. Of course 20,000 KES for three weeks accomodation, full board, could seem very tempting, but I guess Ernest Gunter Strecker wished he had reconsidered the "ride". I paid more but left on schedule and remain 'Barri' to the world.

Gentlemen,

I am afraid we must face up to the reality.

The Tourist Police in Bamburi have discovered a Gold Mine.

For many years they were happy taking 100 kes from Taxi Drivers travelling to Mtwapa. Now they know how to make big money and they are determined to succeed.

If you frequent Cheers or Big Tree you are under constant surveillance by plainclothes Tourist Police. Most Girls work in tandem with them.

Make one small mistake - You will pay !

Sad to say - It may be wise to move on.

The cops are out for a quick buck.

I can tell you cos most of the clubs where i visit, I am treated well cos they assume am a cop - something which i can neither confirm nor deny!

Indeed some of the gals have told me that cops are known to extract money from mongers who make errors whether by ommission or commission.

Or is this just another case of fear-mongering, designed to keep people away? "Cui Bono" they taught us to ask in Jesuit School.

Having said that: I have yet to meet a policeman (and let's face it: their pitiful compensation actually forces them to generate substantial additional income) whom I ended up paying "chai" to. Of course, you have to be able to out-argue him, or as a last resort, out-charm him.

Furthermore, I would presume the girls are all smart enough to know that they would never get a cut from the income they channel the policeman's way, I. E. It's in their best interest to help their prospective prey to avoid dealing with the police.

Hi,

I will be in Mombasa from 23 March for about 10 days. Does anybody know about the Travellers Hotel. Especially the room rates? We are 3 guys so a gf-hotel would be perfect. Does it make sense to make the hotel reservation in advance or better directly over there? We would like to spend a maximum of 40 euros (60 US$) per room/night, any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

CharlieThe hotel industry is only slowly coming back from disastreously low occupancy rates , i.e. this seems to be the ideal time to find real value.

I would just take a cab upon arrival (book it for half a day at a lumpsum) and just drive from place to place .

Good Luck!

hi fellow pleasure seekers.

please do not ignore the undermentioned reports. take care.

donnachaa

hehehe!

i was once arrested by plainclothed police while walking home at 9.pm. they charged me with loitering and [CodeWord112] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord112) in public and i had to pay a fine of 1000/=. it did not matter that i had my id card. bribery did not work.

i later learned that:

1) either the courts were idle and the magistrate needed work or they were broke and needed money.

2) the planting season has arrived and the shimo la tewa prison needed more inmates to tend to the farms there so these plainclothed police (and there were about 10 of them) went about arresting anybody who crossed their path. some of them nabbed for simply going to the kiosk to buy bread.

then on i learned that plainclothed police who operate in large numbers are the worst. they dont take bribes and you will end up in court even if you have all documents and id's and did nothing wrong.

uniformed police who normally operate in twos can be bribed.

however this was during the moi era. now in the kibaki era where corruption has increased its price it seems sex tourists are their new target?

i think as musomba says, its wise to operate like the mouse. let not the girls know where you live etc etc (unless you are dealing with girls you know and can trust).

btw kenya prisons are deliberatley filthy shitholes. many criminals are from poor destitute backgrounds so making prisons more comfortable may actually increase crime. just like the nigerians who trafficked heroine to sweden to deliberatley get caught and jailed because a swedish jail in nice and confortable (complete with tv in each room), and you can make good money (by nigerian standards) while serving your time. afterwards you go back to nigeria better off than when you left.

ndugu our favorite kenyan police station is located on mombasa's north coast opposite cheers bar in bamburi. what makes this police station so special is their ingeniousity in tourist scamming. of course, not all the officers are corrupt, untrained and unprofessional but the few good cops are not enough to give that particular station a good reputation. you might become a victim of these scavengers once you show your face outside the hotel. having some alcoholic beverages, hooking up with a prostitute or dealing with a beach boy will most likely increase your chances to make the acquaintance of an "officer" all you have to do is tell the ”right” person about your hotel, date of departure and of how much money you possess. it is very common that you will be visited in your hotel either on a friday afternoon or 2 days before your departure. reasons are obvious: booked on a friday will give the highly trained bamburi copper a chance to put you in jail for the entire weekend because courts are closed. even though you’ll not be fined but released the following monday, you had to spend a weekend in a stinking cell beyond human dignity. how much would you pay for “assistance” to avoid such dilemma??? booking you 2 days before your departure is the true virtue of the corrupt bamburi cop. having studied your every move over the past 7 days, the copper will use any means to arrest you for maximum extortion. he’s aware that you cannot miss your flight and that you would do everything not to. he is also aware that you may have spent all your money already but fortunately for him you are white. white people always have means of getting more money. just call your sister or a friend to help you out, it’s that simple. this advice is for free and even comes from the generous law abiding bamburi cop himself. your embassy will be too slow to assist you within 48 hours – forget about that! pay or stay thanks to the friendly and corrupt bamburi coproach! unfortunately the outdated colonial laws make it easy for any corrupt cop to extort huge amounts from their victims.

most common charges are:

possession of drugs or narcotics*-*even if you are not a drug user, the friendly bamburi cop or his assistant will gladly provide the evidence

sexual relationship with minors - our favorite; a 20 year old hooker with a fake or no id and a bamburi cop on standby. even better, a17 year old prostitute with 2 children and 1 deeply concerned bamburi officer as her boyfriend or even pimp. funny enough, you'll find these "minors" in all common bars between 12 and 5 am!!!

sexual harassment - same as above but less expensive

racism - can be anything as we all know...

not carrying an id - bamburi copper knows that your passport is with the hotel and will try to cash in by "not arresting you"

hooker without id - according to the average bamburi cop, it is you who is at fault if your female company does not carry her id. he will get his cut by threatening to arrest both of you until a proper id is produced.

sexual assault - the smart ones at bamburi police finally found out that dildo's are not only woman friendly but also "cop wallet enriching" the wrong hooker will call her right bamburi pimp shortly after having enjoyed the device together with you. usually 3 coppers will come to the poor lady's aid, steal your dildos and charge you.

possession of pornographic material - having fun with your gal, some nude shots with your digicam, possession of drawings of even nude breasts? you are in for a bamburi treat! the kenyan third world law defines almost any form of nudity as pornography.

in kenya, a corrupt cop can arrest you for nothing and without any evidence!!!

remember, once you arrive in kenya, you have also travelled a 100 years back in time. you arrive with enough money that could feed a corrupt bamburi coppers family and his hookers for at least a year – why should he spare you?

part 1

first off i have to mention that i frequently visit kenya since 1990 and made lot's of friends. i even volunteered in severl projects especially in lodwar to help local turkana's drilling boreholes, building sanitary facilities in schools and providing a computer lab donated by my fellow country men. usually i spend about half a year in kenya because of my local girlfriend. i often heard stories about bamburi police and considered most of them tales of unhappy offenders. in all the years in kenya i never had any conflict with police or the law until april this year.

my girlfriend took a flight to mombasa to purchase a new car. she called me the following day and told me that she got the car but would like me to come and drive back to nairobi together. i took the evening flight and arrived at 11pm in mombasa. she came with a friend to the airport from where we left to kahama hotel in bamburi. after some drinks at their restaurant we decided to visit florida nightclub. we met some nice people and had lot's of fun till about 5am when we decided to go home. on the way home we had to pass tembo disco and decided to have "one for the road". not many people there, just a bling bling kenyan with some asian friends and a girl sitting alone at one of the tables. we invited her over and bought her some drinks and food and again had a good time. we drunk ourselves high like kites till about 8am. only one incident turned out to be a bit ugly when the bling bling tried to hit on my girlfriend. he even had the audacity to come right to our place and we told him to go and fuck himself. the reason why i mention this, is because he might have been a cop or cop friend that had something to do with what followed that day.

we left together with the girl at 8am. i run out of money and even had to sign my bill and therefore couldn't give the girl some cash for a taxi. i also was to drunk to drive her all the way home and decided to take her to kahama. my girlfriend booked another room for her and we all went upstairs to finally find some sleep. all of us went first to our room and had a "nightcup" which actually rendered us unconcious. we all fell asleep in our bed and the girl didn't even make to her room. my girlfriend woke me at around 11am and told me that there were 3 people outside the door claiming to be bamburi cops demanding to enter the room. needless to say that we were still drunk and couldn't probably deal the right way with the situation. anyway, the "cops" kept on knocking and our guest woke also up and asked what was going on. we told her that the police is outside and want to search the room. we also told her to ignore them because i wanted to make some phone calls first to find out whether this was a hoax. now, whether the girl got really scared or she was another part of the scam is unclear to me. despite the fact that we told her to wait, she run to the door and invited these people in. they were 2 beach boy like looking males and 1 utterly cheap dressed female (one might think that even a kenyan cop has minimum wages to dress decent). we asked for the purpose of their visit and something like an search or arrest warrant. they could produce nothing but an police id that was expired 2007! once they were in the room they claimed to be tipped off that we are drug traffickers and want to perform a search. me and my girlfriend were still naked at that time and i told them that without id or warrant they can go to hell. i wanted to get my cell from the cupboard and one of the "officers" grabbed my hand and tried to push me back. still under influence of alcohol i took that little guy by his throat and pressed him against the wall. he then handed me my cell phone and i let go of him. some minutes later 5 more officers arrived but this time a bit more official with valid id's and some even in uniform.

now picture this:

the cops went straight for my trousers and my girlfriends handbag, to our surprise they claimed having found some baby powder and a sacchet with a white substance. satisfied with their findings they just had a look into our suitcases and the wardrobe before asking us to come to the bamburi police station to file a report. imagine, i could have had 2 kg of any drug under the bed or behind the curtains - they never even checked under the matress!!! also, if we would have been aware of any drugs in our possession we would have had ample time to dispose of it either by flushing it down the toilet or shoving it up of one of our asses (2 gramms of cocaine according to their statement). we had many containers containing perfumes, soaps and playing cards but these amateurs in corruption and framing didn't care open any of it! i ordered some breakfast earlier on and the room service came up with the order. the waitress took a full tray with cups, plates, ashtray and empty cigarette boxes with her on the way out - no copper checked for any drugs in there either... anyway, i was allowed to take a shower and finally my girlfriend got permission to dress up after some of the coppers finished drooling at her body. they then confirep001ed my trousers (and only my trousers!) and asked us to come to bamburi police station. i enquired whether we are arrested and they said no, we are to make a statement only. the coppers drove in their pickup and me and the girls used our car to go to the station.

once at the station we immediately had to surrender our cell phones to ensure that nobody can be informed to assist us. i was so pissed off and told them to not to forget to search the car as well. they looked a bit dumbfolded at first but then decided to follow my advice - hillarious!!! even then, just having a look in the glove compartment and under the seats satisfied these "experts in investigations". again, if i were a drug trafficker i would have used a spare tyre, first aid kit or even the ashtray to hide my valuable merchandise. these cops wouldn't find jack shitt unless you tell them exactly where to look for. we asked several times of what are the charges against us but never received an answer. i was not even allowed to use my cell to call a lawyer or even my embassy. we have been held without any accusations for about 12 hours at this stinking place called a police station when finally at 11 pm some officers from central police arrived and told us about the charges against us. these (good and professional) officers took our statements, fingerprints and even assisted with some mineral water and cigarettes. we hoped that all would be over soon but to our surprise we had to go back to cell. in the morning we were taken to court in the back of a pickup. also imagine of how one stinks, sleeping a night on the same concrete floor where others [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). they don't even allow you to respect their own court house by permitting you a change of clothes or shower - imagine people, there is no water for inmates!!!

once in court you will be flocked with hundreds of other arrested people in the cells beneath the building. after some hours they take you to the chambers awaiting hearing. we were accused of two counts of offenses: possession of 2 grams of cocaine grade bla bla bla with a street value of 4000 kes and behold, resisting arrest!!!! what arrest? remeber, we volunteered and even gave a lift to one of the officers! after pleading not guilty "his honor" gave each a bond of 20000 kes with a surety of the same amount. this is now another dilemma: my passport was in nairobi and my girlfriends passport confirep001ed by the police. they all know that without id you'll never be able to go to a bank and withdraw funds for bail. i even had to surrender my passport to the court after it had been flown in from nairobi. no way in hell to get cash or surety without having friends. we had been taken back to the court jail awaiting bail or imprisonment.

end part 1

in part 2 i will give you all the details of how the bribing procedure took place and also some insight on shimo la tewa prison. mzungu being robbed of his personal effects by wardens in court is just another highlight of this anekdote...

Hi Fellow Pleasure Seekers.

Please do not ignore the undermentioned reports. Take Care.

Whilst I have travelled the world over, I am shocked after having read your interesting report. I was in Mombasa two years ago, had a great time and met a lady who is definitely a non-pro. Together we visited her family who lives very nice compared to African standards.
She stayed overnight with me at the Severin (after having paid extra to switch from single to double occupancy) throughout.
When I read this reports, I imagine this shit can happen to anyone with natural good intentions.
I will think twice before returning to such a place.

Greetings Totaltigergmxde,

It appears that you inadvertently forgot to correctly place the quote tags in this report. Usually I can fix this sort of thing before it's displayed, but I don't have a clue as to how you intended this report to appear.

The quote tags are simple to use, all you have to do is look for them in the text. Anything that you want to appear in quotes must start with "[quote]" and end with "[/quote ]". Please note the "/" forward slash in the last tag. It's that simple.

In addition, you can preview your report before it's posted, so it's easy to check if you got it right before it's displayed in The Forum.

Guys,

I plan to be in Mombasa/ beach in June for a week and want to have a week of fun and lots of f**king. But since it will be my first trip to Mombasa I would appreciate your help:

1. Where should I go and stay for that week (lots of girls and action)?

South of Momabasa? North of Mombasa? Malindi area?

2. Any gf hotels on the beach or close to it you could recommend? Best would be close to any action (disco).

3. The last day (s) I would then stay in Mombasa. Any gf hotel to recommend? Any place/ disco (or any other pick-up place) with lots of girls?

Thanks so much!

Cheers!

First thought, Whites go with virtually any kind of African girl, even those who blacks would never yearn for. I think its the novelty of it. Back in Europe its rare to get girls like that. So its not suprising that, in the absence of Whites, these Girls go with Africans just to get food. They are probably not worth much else to the Africans (many of whom already have wives and are just looking for cheap thrills). Which brings me to my next thought. Why are the Whites they crave for not sending them any money for food? Could it be because they too dont think the girls are good enough to warrant such attention?

Gentlemen, it seems you are off topic with what I was trying to say. Let me clarify.

Firstly in response to Mutua2000, I feel your comment is not in line with my post.

You said, "stirrup animosities between Foreigners and African men". I won't even get into that politically charged subject as it was never my intention. This area is well known for foreign men to holiday in and find P4P pussy. Some times, when there are many tourists around the prices rise. What I am saying is at this moment, it appears that things have turned and it is a buys market and we are the buyers. Let's remember for a minute why we are on this site in the first place, to exchange current information about mongering and travelling and that is what I have done. How can talking about the price of P4P stirrup animosities between Foreigners and African men? That is what this entire site does. In regards to stealing from foreigners etc as you mentioned, everyone is different. I have been travelling for 30 years and have never been ripped off in a 3rd world country to date. One needs to know the lay of the land in each country and city and work with it if they want the best outcome. The few times where girls have tried to take advantage of me they have come off second best For e.g. I employed the services of some locals. I wanted them to find the girl bring her to me. They did so and the girl offered free sex and even money if I promised not to involve the police. In fact in Nairobi last year I had my mobile phone taken by a girl, I contacted the local thugs through a friend and within 24 hours the girl and the phone was delivered to my hotel room for just a few Shillings, so you see, not only African men have their ways to deal with these situations. ;)

In answer to “August 1970”, White men sending the girls money has nothing to do with what I posted. I am saying that things are financially tighter now than ever for working girls and if one is considering a trip there and has money constraints, now would be a good time to consider it with the weaker than usual Kenyan Shilling and the girls accepting lower than usual prices for their services.

I hope I have clarified any misconceptions.

Best regards.

Okay, here's my two bits worth.

First, I dont think that Blastoff meant any offence, and certainly not to provoke any animosites, etc. What he stated was a simple fact. Every year, during the low tourism season between March and July, the girls usually have a hard time, since their usual customers, (white tourists), are absent. This forces them to look elsewhere. In the last couple of weeks, I have had girls offering themselves to me for only Ksh. 500. Some are girls who would probably not say hi to me during the peak tourism season.

Blastoff did not create that situation. It is a natural cycle of the seasons. This year, it is worse because the tourism season was cut abruptly at the beginning of the year by the post election violence.

As a local mongerer, I dont have to philosophise about the state of the market. I simply enjoy the rich pickings.

Come on blastoff, you post part of an e-mail from a black girl to a white man where the black girl moans that her fellow black girls are stooping so low as to go with black guys because they are hungry and all because there are no white guys around and wishing you could come and see for your self.

How does it relate to price? How does it make mongering cheaper for whites, most of whom (going by posts in this forum) seldom pay more than 1500/= (which is the same rate they get from well off black men). Will they now pay 500/=? Will the poor and hungry girls be happy with 500/= from a white guy when they can get it from a black guy?

I think you posted it to boost the ego of fellow white mongerers. Its reads like a 'black girls prefer whites' tune we have read before and which we all know does not mean whites actually get a better deal. It probably just means whites have 'more meat on their bones'. Now, be a good sport. Write something else that makes whites look better than blacks (in your opinion) and I will write something else that boosts the ego of blacks.

BTW I don't believe (if it ever happened) the african thugs returned your valuable phone for 'a few shillings'. In fact I don't believe it was ever returned if indeed it was stolen. They would have sold it and kept the money instead. Its quite common for phones to get stolen and a white mans phone would attract special attention since it could be the latest model not yet seen in Kenya.

At no point do I mention the words white or black in my post or reply to you. I say foreigners meaning any foreigners of all races. Secondly there are many girls who specialize in foreign P4P services, it is NOT that they don't like African men.

With regards to my phone, you have lot to learn about me. I DON"T travel with the latest phone in fact I travel with a 5 year old one (Motorola V620) not to attract that kind of attention and I travel with a plastic water proof $30 digital watch etc. I never wear any jewellery or expensive brand shoes or clothing to 3rd world countries. This is probably why I have not been ripped off. If you are from Kenya, I have the phone numbers of the men that retuned the girl and my old phone to me as mentioned in my previous post. You can give them a call if you feel the need to go that far. If you are just looking for an aimless provocation and argument, you have come to the wrong place.

None the less, each to there own and happy mongering.

Thanks Willyboy,

You are right on the money to my knowledge too. Thanks for your input.

What I am saying earlier is that in Mombassa right now girls will sleep with you all night for 500 Shillings or even less if you feed them as business is bad. Of coarse when the tourists start to come back in any great numbers the price will rise again and go back to what it was before but for now the price is low.

P4P is like any business, supply and demand determines the price for e.g. in Moscow Russia the demand is so high you can’t get an all nighter for less than USD$200 to $1,000 these days but if business slowed down, you would see an immediate drop in price.

Hi Steve German,

I agree with your idea and yes 1,000 Shillings is a fair price.

I was surprised to hear from you that the prices went UP after the political trouble for girls. My understanding was that as there were no tourists so the prices went down to what ever the girls were offered. Can you explain further how the prices went up as we are all interested as you are there in Mombasa and you have the latest information.

Many thanks.

All the prices for food aso raised up; so the girls charge more; maybe they
see the exchange rates.
I made the same expirience in the low season in Thailand; they had only a few
customers an tried to get more

I was there in march/april; a bit shocked about the quality of the girls and
customers in the tourist bars. I stayed away, gone at the evening in town
like Fontanella Steak House or to Mtwapa and got what i want; daytime at
the beach. 1000 everytime accepted

You could hear a pin drop around here. What happened?

Couple of notes, one question first: any good suggestions for cheap places to stay? Couple weeks at a time? Thanks.

Notes: people are mentioning good eatings in the downtown and nobody's saying anything about Island Dishes. For ages this was the heart of good eating on the Coast. The Carnivore of Mombasa even. There are now two of them, neither in the old original spot. But worth a quick, cheap lunch. The main one is on Nkrumah Rd. Just before you get to the DHL office, just up but across the road. Across from the road that goes down to Lotus Hotel. The other Island Dishes is down on the left side of the street that cuts into Old Town off Makadara across from Central Police Station. That's the main Island Dishes. Fight the crowds at lunch.

Speaking of food, of course, despite the election, food is super expensive. So is gas. And that means so are taxi rides. You are probably not just being ripped off. For those who haven't been following the news, the stupidity that was the drive to turn the world's food aid into ethanol fuel has been a disaster since it takes more energy to make it than you get in the end. And now the world is out of corn. Rice prices are through the roof. While Kenya is real lucky and only just starting to feel it, some predictions have food riots breaking out in urban Kenya by August. By December I know several researchers who already want to be on the ground to cover the chaos that will be unavoidable.

So you may want to see that coming.

In the meantime, eat local! Learn to love muhogo, or cassava. Ten bop for a big, long, fat, juicy, cooked up piece of cassava will last you for several hours, half the day if you put some masala on it. The most filling ten bop in the world. Great way to save money. But stop buying your food at the grocery store, it's all imported and messing up the food markets. Again, try to buy and eat local. And don't blame it on me, blame it on George Bush. It's fun.

Kichuna,

Glad to see that you are on your way back to Kenya. You are right, it has been way too quiet in this forum. Not that I really cared a lot until now bcs I had no shortage of entertainment myself while having been away from Kenya since Dec, but am thinking of returning to MBA for a few months sometimes late Jun. While visiting my old hunting grounds in CN, US and MX over the last 5mos it became obvious that the public pre-occupation with the cost of gas (petrol), at least so far, has obscured the much more rapid escalation in the price of staples. Over here, most people don't hurt too much paying $4. 99 for a gal of milk versus 2. 99 half a year ago or 3. 36 for a loaf of bread which used to be 1. 99 a few months ago, but the realization of the cumulative effect hasn't set in as yet. It will be interesting to see how Obama is gonna deal with that next year (if he wins the presidency, and that's a pretty big IF, I sense).

But once these price increases work their way thru to economies like Kenya, all hell is gonna break loose bcs all those who just broke out of the poverty bracket (is it $2/day/person? ) will be sucked back into the vortex.

The only way out I see is for the Kenya Govt to massively promote substistence farming plus large scale export oriented commercial enterprises wherever this makes sense, in light of the terribly market distorting CAP policy of the EU (and the US agro subsidies are almost as bad, I believe)

As far as Island food is concerned: Have you tried "Tarboosh" in Makadara (near the Baluch mosque)? Very tasty and inexpensive. And I am sure you get all the ingredients for just a few Ksh at the McKinnon market, if you have your own kitchen facilities.

Kichuna2
05-26-08, 02:48
Tarboosh is awesome, I absolutely agree. Others should take note, just before you get to Central Police on Makadara, great place. I don't know if you will meet many women there, but great place for lunch. Shwarma on a pita.

Okay, sorry, I was distracted. But that makes me think of some other questions. MSA has changed so much. I used to like to take a girl to Splendid or Baron for the after work date. It was also a great place to take a girl for her first ever ride in "the lift" if she'd never done that before. Splendid closed down ages ago (a real shame) and the last time I was in Kenya even Baron had been closed and the space was being renovated. Is it still that way? (shows I've been away for a while) What did they put in that spot where Baron used to be? Used to be the best balcony in MSA for a beer. And I sure could meet girls there. Oh well.

Last Q. What about where Toyz used to be? Last time I was in MSA it looked like that whole block was under construction. Has anything opened there? Is Samba still there? That's another great hangout near the downtown that nobody seems to know about. Upstairs at Samba has great cushioned seats.

Oh well. I guess if nobody knows, not a big deal. I'll past answers to all these questions when in Kenya this summer.

Member #4364

Toyz is now the Club Rio; haven´t checked. Splendid closed; right; a shame.
Try Fontanella Steak House/Beergarden; between the circle and Hotel Castle

It really sucks. Reach there, brought to a room. The gal came in. I pengsan dy. A bit fat, about 30 yrs. No mood. Just quickly finish my 1 hr wasted massage and run away. Not recommended.

I'll be able to tell you in about a month. But Mombasa has never had very good strip shows. Leave that to Nai. I know back a few years, Bora Bora was renowned for its "strip shows", but they never even really stripped. Even Tembo will call showtime a "strip tease", but again, nothing complete. I always thought it was kind of funny. They don't have to get naked before somebody has them in private. That's the stori ya coast, at least as I have known it. But things may be changing. And I'd love to hear a more updated report.

The likes of Liddos and applebees are pioneers in Nai. But from what I heard, CasaB offers VIP strip shows where you see the girls in their full glory. If you thought strip clubs in ATL were crazy, you have to see CasaB. I hear even patrons get to dance with the girls and at times the girls even make out with the patrons. After thought, its quite common for them to hook up with the patron and head to his hotel room.

At the moment there are very few tourists in & around Mombasa so most of the hotels are empty except for some locals attending seminars.

In fact many places are closed for renovation, maintenance etc. such as YULS at Bamburi Beach until August.

In Mombasa the new Club RIO is in full swing & right next to it is the Dancourt Hotel so you don't have to walk far with the lady of your choice, although the rooms in the hotel are not very nice, but you pay only 2000 for a double.

The food in Club Rio is good & plenty.

At Bamburi Beach the rates for accomodation are low now, one can get an apartment for 1500 or 2000 and even the Bamburi Beach Resort, which has some nicer rooms with hot water charges 2500 a night now.

Many girls are eagerly waiting now every day at Big Tree, Cheers & on the North side of Bamburi Beach where there is a Beach Bar run by a Greek guy.

Or they are just walking around on the beach offering "massage" or more.....
especially on Sundays, when the public beach is very crowded.

In Mtwapa one can just reach Kenda's in between the showers & small lakes on the roads, with reasonable food, but always carefully watch the addition on the bill.
Casuarinas is operating as usual, they have by far the best sound system.
There is also a new club on the Malindi end of the town, CLUB LAMBADA in Brazilian style, it looks very nice & new inside, with a swimming pool and the food is good & cheap, less Muzungus than in Casuarina. They have some "Go-Go Girls dancing" on Friday not nude, but Jamaican style & "Girls Splash Party" on Wednesdays, I don't know what that that involves.

On Fridays TEMBO is the place to go, fully packed & they play a good variety of music.
I had good intentions of not sticking to one particular girl, but could not avoid after some days to get hooked to one who was very active, a real Moto Moto, sex on the beach, in the shower etc. etc.

Yuk, for me that would turn a sexy dance show into a meat market!! Can any man respect a girl who bares all in public and then goes off with one of the patrons? That to me would be the opposite of a good date and holds none of the allure and mystery that one gets when chatting up a cute chick in a bar and agreeing with her to go off for some passionate lovemaking. In my mind there is no call for strip shows here in Kenya where girls are plentiful and even wazee wa miaka 70 can get a date (check out the scene at Casaurina Bar in Mtwapa if you dont believe me.. white pensioners with 20's chicks on their arms!!). I think there is more potential here for male striptease whereby the horny ladies get titillated and then the hawkeyed men also present go hunt those horny ladies and give them a piece of what they were yearning to see under the stripper's thong! Now that would be fun! I once witnessed that at K2 club in Nairobi and it was dead easy to chat up the horny ladies after the male stripper had drenched their panties with a hot show standing up on the bar.

In my mind there is no call for strip shows here in Kenya .The average male wants to respect only the girl he is married to and is perfectly happy to assume that all others are sluts.

You don't go to a bar or a strip club to meet the love of your life , but pure and simply to do some groping and to get titillated and (hopefully) laid.

I expect female visitors to LeBare or other male SC's have pretty much the same expectations , at least that's what my wife tells me.

Just returned from a mongering trip to Kenya. Here are a few infos you might consider:

- Kahama Hotel

I stayed at the Kahama Hotel. It was 3750 KES a night (incl. Breakfast: cereal, fruit salad, coffee, juice, eggs your style with bacon and sausages, toast): queen size bed, hot water, AC, 1 liter of water every day, clean room, totally GF and no extra charge for visitors (I brought in girls in the afternoon and at night (same day) and had no problems at all)

And the most important: I felt safe!

- Generally:

At the moment not so many tourists are around and everybody tries to make some business with the few tourist hanging out there. so a good time for making some good deals (taxis, shops, massages, girls, etc.)

- Beach walkers

From Monday to Friday/ Saturday I took everday a stroll at the beach but could hardly find any working girls there. And those who approached me (maybe 1 per day) were not my taste and didn't look so clean so that I refused.

Only on the weekend the ratio went up and I saw some more, specially at the public beach.

- Big Tree

Around noon the first girls are arriving and waiting to get picked up. The later the afternoon, the more girls are there (I would say at 3 pm there were maybe 5-6 girls available)

- Tembo Disco/ Tembo Entertainment Complex

Tembo Disco is open only from Wednesday to Saturday/ Sunday?. but is only advisable to go there on Friday or Saturday nights. The other nights it is almost empty. Also Tembo Entertainment complex is only good fun on these days!

- Cheers and Casaurina

I went there almost every night and there were some cuties hanging around. I would recommend these places and took some hotties home.))

- prices:

Short time goes from 500 to 800 KES
Long Time (TDL) goes from 1000 to 2000 KES
although the girls try to get more, but please do not over pay

Cheers!

Hey Dars
I stayed at the Kahama last year, and agree with you, it was excellent.
One thing though, I asked the staff about taking girls back, and they said there'd be no charge unless she stayed overnight. In that case, I'd have to pay a surcharge (250ksh) or pay for her breakfast (same price). I always took the gals for breakfast. I guess this policy has been relaxed now.
BTW, did you try any girls from Cassablanca or any other place in Mombassa town?

I just got back from Kenya. Sadly I didn't wasn't able to get any brown sugar this time. I was about to catch a matatu for a weekend in Malindi when I got word that the body of someone I knew who went for a never ending swim was found.

I dropped my plans to head up there. Later that day I heard it was not his body, but by then it was too late to get up to Malindi before dark. I just have to relive my fond memories from last time and look forward to next time.

My mate, who is in the know, is really being put off Mombasa lately.

He has been hit 3 times with the stitch you up hooky tourist police tossers who come banging on your hotel door and then try to extract a bribe out of you on anything they possibly can. Pornography on your camera and fucking girl with no ID being the 2 most common.

He knows all the tricks and never stays in a hotel more than 2 nights but still is getting this grief.

He says this activity is most common in the Bamburi / Mtwapa areas.

He's spoken with hotel propietors about it who say it is effecting business.

Top tips: Keep your door locked and don't open it no matter what when someone knocks. The genuine police would either bust it down or get the hotel to open it.

Don't fuck chicks without IDs even if clearly over 18.

Don't take porno pics.

Anyone else having to deal with this shit?

Took the wife for a late dinner, about 9pm, and was given a table in the back , well protected from the strong wind which accompanied the incoming tide. A bit later the adjacent table was occupied by a maybe 40 yrs old white guy and a young and pretty and very shapely African girl who knew how to eat with fork and knife and how to hold a wine glass.

They ate rather quickly and left ( surely they had better things to do.

That's exactly how I would like to do my mongering : build up your libido for the main event over a nice meal and a bottle of wine and engage in some pleasant conversation , before you let the monster out of your pants.

Alas, I am restricted to daytime activities.

All mongering techniques has similar results, temporary sex or longer term of weird relationship with extremely unreliable ladies.

First timers use Ethiopian manners but very soon they adopt since they realize the romantic do not exist in Africa between black and white. (although the local talents can win an academy award for their acting performance. In fact I always mention "robert de Niro" and Mtwapa ladies at the same context.)

In fact, beside extremely low intelligence they do not know how to appreciate quality even in food. One of my best meal red Tuna burned by high temp pan for short period with olive oil got a very positive feedback by the mzungo residence but the local can't simply eat and appreciate high quality sophisticated food.

With the right persuasion skills every lady can be fucked at the same day without romantic courting it just a matter of money. In mombasa cash is the absolute solution just talk to any girl and say " I like you and I have many gifts 4 u" then the low volume brain become very sharp and in its optimum focus. Then you can continue that to say that "you are very generous to classy lady like you". All this bullshit sounds stupid but they work in kenya.

In Nairobi the best way to fuck a long term porn stars is to rent them an apartment. Then a few times a week you can have fun. Even if that porn star has a boyfriend she will accept the offer. I know many foreigners and rich local that keep a stunning mistress by doing this.

In Mombasa cash is more common. And any girl from any place can be taken, its just a matter of price.

For thus who hunt at daytime may bring different segment of the population such as teachers from kikambala or "nice girls" from Bamburi or even nurse or just villagers girls. From my experience around 30% of thus can refuse to have sex in the first date and argue that it may take a month until they will feel comfortable. If you have money just offer it as a gift and you will see how a "month" in africa can become 5 minutes.

<<In fact, beside extremely low intelligence they do not know how to appreciate quality even in food.>>

I know it's a board about quim and not about world views.

But this is too stupid and offensive to pass without it being called.

Socio-economic straits rip us down to our most basic needs and approaches to life.

Had the random forces of the universe conspired to make Africans in charge of the world by virtue of a continent rich in minerals and metals and food, then fat African women would be flying to desperately poor white Europe to pick up, feed and fuck hot white male studs. And fat rich African men would be coming to Europe to plunder your young, "stupid," prospectless white women.

Stick to the subject, pussy, and try to leave your ignorance passing for a world-view for the racism boards you may wish to belong to.

My disgusted two cents.

Remember, most here think with the lil head, (I try to very often). It's ez to be an asshole in a room with a keyboard- your identity hidden. Just pick out the valuable info from the racist shit and let it go. Does wonders for the blood pressure.

Long time action with lady how much = 2000 KSH...can go up 10,000 or even more. dependings on how drunk you get

Short time, how much = 3-2000 KSh. ...had a kamba ask me 5000KSH (claims most foreigners pay upto 6000KSH).

Beer in a bar how much = 80-260 Ksh

Meal in a bar how much = depends on the food and bar (about 5-1000 Ksh)

Taxies or other local transport how much = depend on the distance, within the city it is 2-300 ksh

Soft drink in a bar how much about 50-100 KSH.

Club price and bar prices please= depends from 0 to 2000 KSH.Have never done LT (overnight) but believe your figures are way too high. I pay my fave daytime girls between 1, 200 and 2, 500 for ST, depending upon how good she looks and how uninhibited I get with her during the act.

Bar food. Typically 3-500 for a Hamburger

Fine Dining Restaurant. Fillet steak about 1, 400; lobster about 2, 600

Beer. 120 to 150

Long drinks. 160 to 300

The encl pics are from my fave 2, 500 Ksh girl. If I would only know how to attach a jpeg.

Turn off means junction leading to a hotel called african safari club.

You will need matatu/bodaboda/taxi by day or taxi by night to get around.car hire also possible for 2000 or so per day.

I have posted this elsewhere, hope it is ok to paste it in here as well, as I do not want to type it out all again. Just looking for opinions. Okay guys, I have only been to Gambia and that was over 5 years ago now. I planning a week away after the new year and many people recommend Kenya over Gambia.

Is this mainly because now gambia Dalasi is very strong and girls are more expensive?

This is my take on things, if going for longer than a week it would appear Kenya would win out. But for one week in Gambia the airfare is at least about 100 pound cheaper and flying time 3 hours less. Girls appear to be more expensive but 500d is the most I will pay, and from my experience of Asia you will always get girls that ask for more, but many will settle for that if not you will easily find one that will. Okay girls in Kenya about half that price, but over seven days would not make much difference I guess.

Advantage Kenya has more girl friendly hotels, but the Liverpool arms in Gambia would meet my requirement for my stay and price is okay.

The rest is all the same beer a little over one pound amybe alitle more expensive but not much. A beach is a beach so does not matter to me can chill out with book and a beer and sun bath.

I like to smoke on holiday and gambia easy to get some green, but be discrete anyway, same would apply to Kenya but I have smoked before in Gambia without any problems. Both police are corrupt but more of a problem in kneya.

Hotel I have looked at same price and adequate.

Just want opinions. I reckon for one weeks holiday Gambia is the easier option but for longer I would say Kenya, as they have more variety and cheaper girls, but for a week gambia has more than enough to keep you occupied.

What are the thoughts from you guys that have done both.

I will certainly be doing both, it just be dependent on how long I go away for which I would choose.

Haven't seen this posted. Someone who is obviously pissed off enough by "Bamburi's Finest" to detail all their exploits on a website.

Hopefully this info will be useful to us all to avoid the traps, deal with the f*ckers if they do try to get KK from us, and if anyone truly knows how to report the corrupt bastards to higher officials, all the better.

Sadly due to what's going on as described in the site below North Coast is a write off.

I would avoid Mtwapa / Bamburi areas like the plague.

South Coast for me next time I visit, probably won't bother though. Who needs that shit.

Just make sure that the girl you are with has an ID card, avoid the beach outside the Pub(l)ic Beach area after sunset.

The link below is not functioning, but it's hard to tell from boards just how bad harassment by police has gotten of tourists in North Coast. I am thinking of returning to Mombasa soon but am a little concerned. If anyone on the ground could, please clarify.I monger only during the daytime, never at night, typically chosing my temp GF either from Nyali Nakumatt or any of the Bamburi beaches and bars, unless I have a repeat scheduled with one of my regulars, of whom there are currently 3 in the rotation. I usually take her to one of the many hotels between Bamburi and Mwatapa which are happy to generate 500-1, 000 for the shortterm use of one of their rooms.

While driving by the police shop across the street from Cheers, I get flagged down regularly whenever they see that I have a passenger and never when I am by myself. They first check the insurance sticker on the windshield, and then ask for my DL and passport and her ID card. They get $signs in their eyes when I tell them that I don't carry my DL or any other ID. After they tell me what a serious offense that is, I reach into my glove box and show them color photocopies of my DL and my passport with my Kenya visa and ask them to examine those. "But we need originals, not copies". "OK, I understand. I don't carry originals with me bcs I am afraid I might lose them or they might get stolen. I will go home now and get my originals and bring them to the station for verification " So far, they always let me go without insisting that I return with my originals.

Yesterday, one of the officers remembered me from a few days earlier and waved me on without even stopping me.

I believe they know how to pick their most promising targets and only prey on the weak and meak. Be self assured and friendly, and you should have no trouble with them.

Our favorite Kenyan Police station is located on Mombasa's North coast opposite Cheers bar in Bamburi.

Possession of drugs or narcotics - Even if you are not a drug user, the friendly Bamburi cop or his assistant will gladly provide the evidence

In Kenya, a corrupt cop can arrest you for nothing and without any evidence!

Try Kendas up by Caltex. The manager's name is Reuben, little short Kamba guy. Very well known. You can try to say you know him and see if you can get a deal. If not, you'll be paying 1, 500-2, 000 a night. But it's safe. Much safer than the other Kendas, in town. That's my advice. The advantage to the Kendas with the makuti roof, the one up by the Caltex, is that it is all-night safe walking distance from Club Lambada. Check it out.

After being a member for two years or so, what really makes me laugh about this forum is that Musomba can be blamed for destroying it. That’s a joke. What is lacking is an insider’s perspective. And y’all scared him away. And there seems to not be many people who know much. Okay – ridicule me and call me ego-maniacal, but I’ve been away from the site for a few months, and let me sort out a thing or two. Ridicule me if you like.

First off, I’m hooked on Nairobi these days. This is a total 360 for me. For the last ten years I have not been able to stand Nairobi. Cold, dirty, dangerous, and the stereotypes go on-and-on. Not only has Nairobi actually become cleaner and safer (only really downtown, but it makes a difference), but the Coast has really become obnoxious in my opinion. I am always reminded of that ukoo flani song where they sing "wongoso wanapenda Afrika tu, na waafrika wanaenda majuu. " in other words, Africans and Westerners are going in opposite directions, literally, and it makes me laugh, when I’m not trying to enjoy myself. When I’m trying to just sit back and enjoy, the reality bites and it makes me want to just hang out with the Kenyan crowd in Massachusetts or New Jersey, since it’s becoming more Kenyan than Kenya’s own Coast. But there is still hope.

I agree with some others – the worst thing about Kenya and the Coast is that I just can’t stand the way the real-estate market has changed. The prices of housing, not food, not beer, (girls are free anyway), but housing. That sucks. Ruins Kenya. The quality is crap for what you get. You really need to find a friend to just live with, build a house, or rent long-term. But they’ve made it a low-quality, high-expense, high-hassle tourist destination. Hand it to the Kenyan government, er, sorry, the Kenyan police and the free market and the fact the government has no interest in doing their job in controlling either.

The other problem is evident when you go to Nakumatt Nyali these days and "uko uzunguni ndani", you’re in the white man’s world for lack of a better translation. The Coast is honestly just uncomfortable. I can’t believe I see overweight, diabetic 15 year old white kids on line at Nakumatt buying ice cream and energy drinks and they don’t have a clue about what is happening or where they are. Where do they even come from?

And it’s not just the clueless white tourists that make it a hunting ground for every thief and con-artist in the region, but there are also the rich Kenyans out to spoil everyone’s fun, including (and primarily from what I can tell) that of other Kenyans. You can go out, but know the mababi – the children of the rich. If you run into total jerk young Kenyans dressed like they want to be 50 cent but they cannot even say a couple phrases in American English, yeah, uko kwa mababi, you’re in their midst. Even if this is more a problem in Nairobi, especially if you are up in Westi around Ryzorous, Red Tape, Black Diamond, etc. Or downtown at Tropez et al. , man, are they a pain in the ass. Luckily most girls don’t want anything to do with them, unless they are standing on Koinange St. At midnight – then they really want them. But it still makes the country and the night-life uncomfortable for everyone. It’s about an un-due sense of entitlement, but whatever.

Here are my tips: get some Obama t-shirts and wear those around. Use them to bribe security at your hotel. I’m serious, I did this, and it was real funny – and give them to girls. Say you want to make little Obamas and you can’t miss finding a girl to sleep with.

But here are the main points, since I’m on the Mombasa forum and I’ve already probably pissed everybody off by rambling and ranting, let’s just say I can’t understand why this site is not up to date. Okay, yes, Tembo, Cheers, Big Tree, Black Havana, etc. Etc. Are still there. Blah. But in my opinion, I would avoid that typical tourist circuit. That’s where the cops profile, where the girls profile, where the taxi drivers and other con-artists profile, and where they will try to tap you up for money at every turn, etc. Etc. Just not worth my time. I don’t even bother with these places.

In all reality, if you spend any time with normal Kenyans, they avoid those places like the plague. Try some of the new sites. The classier sites. Try to find a real woman. I’m blown away nobody has mentioned these spots.

Let’s break it down – to be brief, there’s a big competition playing out in Mombasa. You’ve got the city councilor Okoth Waudi, who owns Casablanca, pouring money into his new club, Club Rio. Check it out. It’s down where Toyz used to be in town, right around the back corner from the Post Office. It’s also right next to club Samba, which also was a fun place. But they took the nice couches out from upstairs, so that’s a disappointment. But shoot, if you’re staying in town, please, please, please don’t buy into the filth that is Casablanca. It’s a big, square, sexually transmitted disease with fluorescent lights and thieves at every corner. Even its own owner is having pity on you by opening his new place with at least some class. His nephew, for example, who is helping manage club Rio just laughed and told me to just avoid Casablanca. Club Rio is the place. Check it out. It will soon be raided by some of the youth from the TSS Mosque across the street, and it was a stupid, stupid tena place to build a club, so before that happens, go to Rio. Especially if you want to stay at a cheap hotel downtown, Hermes Hotel, or the new one on Digo, Rio is a good place. Hot girls. Too easy. Just too easy. Again, I’m actually really surprised nobody has even mentioned this place on this forum.

Now Okoth Waudi is up against Bwana Kamau, this big Kikuyu guy, real nice guy in person, and who is taking him on with a passion. He’s trying to beat Casablanca and Rio with Class. Again, go this direction. Kamau’s also the owner of Little Chef. So walk up Moi Avenue just past Casablanca toward the tusks and on the left side you get the Little Chef downstairs and a decent Nairobi-style bar upstairs with a balcony. Yup, that’s Kamau’s. Good place to take a girl to show her you’re not a scum-bag but still know how to have a good time. Go up Digo toward Bondeni just past the Posta on the right – that’s the original Little Chef, again Kamau’s.

But here’s the funny thing. They both hired the same Dutch contractor, name omitted since I’m not a fan, but you’ll see him around, to build both Club Rio and Kamau’s new Club Lambada up in Mtwapa.

Now regarding the latter, the first thing I want to say is that the two hot places up on the north coast are Klub Bonhoff (spelling? ), yeah yeah, named by the German owner after the train station, and Club Lambada. Casuarina is dead, don’t bother. Bonhoff (right across the street from Casuarina) made itself famous with the recent renovation and the fact they allow miraa/gomba/handas/mbachu/veve/khat (depending on what you call it) chewing. But it is still crap compared to Lambada, with its two swimming pools, ten-odd bars, two floors, out-door view balconies, couches, two video screens, etc. Etc.

The thing about Lambada is not only that it was built by the same contractor who built Rio (and you can tell with the stupid pastels and designs) but it is also not a place you can get to at night with a matatu. This means you automatically get a slightly classier clientele. This includes the girls. And honestly, advice to the new and the old, there are so many trashy girls, and so many super-classy girls, just avoid the former, seek out the latter, for all our sake.

During the day you can get to Lambada with a Kikambala maat but its still much easier to just get off at Kenol and walk. It’s the place on the left just past the Caltex. Or stay at the Kendas up there near Lambada and just walk back and forth. At Lambada there are a ton of chicks and only a few wazungu enjoying themselves. Please avoid the slime-bag, typical tourist sex-work joints and go to Lambada or Rio. They are even in competition, but they are good places, and they pull in a large number of average Kenyans. And in my opinion, if you are looking for beautiful, young Kenyan girls, go to where normal Kenyan girls are and you will find a beautiful, young, well-educated, very smart girl who would never take your money. She wants a boyfriend or to get married or to learn something about having sex from somebody who has been around the world. Sell yourself as classy and you will have no problem. Buy drinks, buy food, then take her out a few times to some nice places, like Lambada, like the bar above little chef on Moi, even Rio for that matter, and you will show not only that you’re classy but that you are not worth charging for any services she may provide you.

The thing is that the problems and trash on the Coast follow the long-term stuff. This site should be about what is new. So please, ridicule me for writing like a jerk, and sorry, I’m in a bad mood, but listen still – check out the newer places, not the old, typical joints. Poa?

As a resident and intelligent man you know that's not possible especially at the cost.

But what is the definition of a real woman anyway? Several answers exist since every man has it own requirements.

If some will prefer a sex machine that can cook and stay at home.

Then, you are in the mombasa is perfect place just bring cash flow and you will have a wife or a girl. Try to find them at villages or neighborhoods such as kikambala, majengo or bamburi. (bamburi has stunning ladies but you need to make an effort to get their and walk at the main road shopping etc.)

If you want a healthy balance between sex and intelligent, I mean a girl that has many areas of interest as much as European girl.

Then sorry but not in mombasa. In fact most of my resident friends in mtwapa are admitting that while they can talk 24/7 with their kenyan friends they completely silence with a white boyfriend. In Nairobi the situation is better, I was lucky to meet a brilliant lady but she was the only one with this talent that I have found in my 15 years visiting and living in kenya.

If you look for a partner for business and also some fun. Then you will have fun but you can trust anyone for business both man and ladies. Stories are to many.

Knowing the limitation is as much as important as knowing the advantages and its true for any country. One more thing who is living in a hotel anyway? Short time visitors?

The experts are always rent an apartment which can be rented per month or even a week basis. Most folks just don't know where to find thus apartments but the monthly price for a nice two bedroom fully furnished is around 11, 000. Just buy the high density "heavy duty" mattress (from bob mill) its only 7000ksh much better for wild action then the soft-one you get.

, I’m actually really surprised nobody has even mentioned this place on this forum.Actually both Clubs Rio & LAMBADA have been mentioned & recommended in this forum before, E. G. Post # 144: " Places to go, stay & eat in Mombasa & North Coast"

Casuarina is still packed on weekends as well as the former BAHNHOF café opposite the road, since it is under management. But the only attractive thing about it is that the beers are very cheap (90 Ksh). Probably after a while they will raise the prices as they make a small profit now & they already have problems with their cooling capacities. (however that won't be a big problem for Kenians, as most of them prefer to drink the beer MOTO.

I regret the changes in Bahnhof as it used to be a place where they played Reggae music only. & now it's the same Disco stuff as anywhere else.

Asante Kichuna!

I added your report to ROD-section.

That's really information I was looking for. Right on time as I'll be at north coast in 5 weeks and this time there will also be more time to write a report or two. Last year I was really bored after a week visiting the standard sites Casuarina, Tembo, Casablanca as the music was always the same and the crowd also. I was really appreciating my girlfriend gave me to some variation like Florida, Safari Inn, Mamba or karaoke at Noons (well, I'm not a karaoke fan).

By the way, does somebody know a good cybercafe at north coast with a good internet connection. The faster the better! 3KB is like being stucked in a swamp when you are used to 5000 times higher at home.

if you like to show your proposed sites on a map, you're welcome to mark them on http://wikimapia.org. i added some sites at north coast if i knew their position exactly.

this link leads you to mtwapa:

http://wikimapia.org/#lat=-3.9498644&lon=39.7432351&z=16&l=5&m=a&v=2

this one to tembo:

you can zoom in twice from that position. to move you just point your mouse and pull the map. if you mark a position, try to be as exact as you can. you can add edges by just klicking on a border. please add tags also and - at the best - some text.

please forbear from this childish behaviour marking your resident/points where i fucked my girlfriend/shopped a rice bag etc. etc.

i don't know how fast this map will show up on slow speed internet, however.

If you like to see something different and like to be on a classier side, you maybe like to take your girlfriend to a live concert of the Limpopo music and dance group. They sing in Luo language. t's often about love and relationships (I was told ;). They played at the Mamba Club on my visit last year and I've also seen them in Nairobi in the New Deepwest Resort. And mostly you would be the only westerner there. Visitors are of all ages and relations - couples, friends, male and female singles.

The music is great even if you don't understand. There are always some tribal dancers on stage and I loved the impressing show of the dwarf. He's the secret star of the show. It's also funny to see Kenyan's behaviour on concerts as the dancefloor empties completely when there is no music, even if it's for only 30 secondes till the next song [no affront!].

If you see an ad out there make a visit! I only had my mobile with me, so the pictures are not of great quality.

This is exactly what I want to do when I spend a month in Nairobi/the coast in the near future. If any of the local experts or frequent visitors could post websites or names of trusty landlords for renting on weekly basis it would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to hear something else than the same music, played in all bars & clubs there are some opportunities to hear live bands playing ( & dancing of course..).

On sunday afternoons you can go to either the far South- & North -ends of Bamburi Beach.

On the North end, near the (in)famous caves there is Ya'mas Beach Club, run by a Greek guy. On sunday they have a live band playing starting from 16.00h.

They serve good food as well.

At the same time on sunday afternoons the BANGU starts at the Campers Haven / Jamboree Club at he far South side of Bamburi Beach, next to the Pub(l)ic Beach. They exclusively play Rumba style Swahili music & sometimes Giriama music. This place is actually Miraa chewers Paradise, so the atmosphere is quite laid back. You will find hardly any Muzungus here. They serve nice Mishikakis.

The Bangu goes on much longer than the band at Ya'mas ( until 22.00h).

On Thursday night a live band plays at Bob's Bar, Next to Nyali Nakumatt along the highway. Good , not-expensive food also available ( mixed grill !).

On Fridays a live band plays at the Kahama Hotel. It's a pity that there is not much space inside there & the dance floor is very small.

All these live bands consist of very talented & experienced musicians who can play a wide variety of styles, from Jazz & Rock classics to very danceable African music.
The musicians of the different bands also like to visit each other's concerts & give guest performances.

If you don't have company yet & you want to pick up a girl the best places would be the beach around Ya'mas & the Public beach.

Thanks for this most useful info mate!

This is the kind of stuff I wish recent travellers and locals would post more of. Granted the site focus is on mongering but, try as I may, I cannot be engaged sex or drunk 24/7. And I like not just mongering but travelling and exploring other cultures...part of the reason why international mongering is so key.

Very very nice info, keep it coming please.

First of all, Zimzam is right, Report 144 listed Rio and Lambada. I am in and out of this forum, so I must have missed those reports. My hat is off to you. But I think we agree. I'm also a fan of Yamas, having been a big patron of the original in Nyali before it was demolished. I'm also a big fan of the Greek owner, especially when he gets up and dances on his own bar.

Regarding internet, I am actually real curious about what others have to say. Regarding North Coast internet, I have always found BooksFirst at Nakumatt and the cafe under Nyali Cinemax as the best, though I haven't been to the latter in a while. It's all pretty bad when compared with Nairobi. Telkom Wireless is opening some offices with internet cafes built in. In Nairobi those are becoming nice options. Will be interesting to see if they hit the coast.

I'd be interested, though, to hear others' opinions. Honestly, I would say get internet on your mobile and run with it. If you have Safaricom or Zain, go to an office and tell them to connect you to the internet. Everything is moving to wireless, and there is a sad lack of investment in cafes. Makes it tough. My 2 cents.

There us only one option for fast internet in mombasa. "fast" is also referring to the ability to plug your laptop and run Skype. Using skype out you can by a credit an call anywhere on the globe at the price of local call. Sure fast browsing and password enable bank acoount logging are another another indication. With slow connection you can't log into your bank account.

Opposite kenya airways at town, into the passage there is two cafes. The second one are connected to nairobi using "radio PDH" transmission system. Is very fast even by western standards. Just at the corner at moi av and digo rd.

This places is a haven for ladies as well from the "working class" not prostitutes. There are a lot of students at the same place near the "kenya electrical company" since there is a school there.

Some additional info about Club Rio.

They also offer accomodation inside the same building, prices starting from 900 Ksh per night.

The rooms are self contained, so they have a toilet & shower as well as a fan.

However they are very basic, very small and have not much fresh air.

Actually they don't have windows to the outside, only to an inside corridor, a but like a prison setup.

One could imagine the noise in the night there, when all the rooms are in use.

All in all it would be OK to do your thing there with a girl you just picked up in the club, but it wouldn't be a nice place to wake up in the morning, let alone a place to spend the day.

It was announced in Kenda's in the centre of Mtwapa that they now charge 1000 Ksh per room / night. These rooms are small, but larger than at Rio's, they have a more pleasant setup, with a window and a TV. A lot of noise though in the night, as they are just above the club.

I heard that these days (16 August) there are frequent fuel shortages in Mombasa, that combined with increasing fuel prices makes the Matatus sometimes double their prices.

"And in my opinion, if you are looking for beautiful, young Kenyan girls, go to where normal Kenyan girls are and you will find a beautiful, young, well-educated, very smart girl who would never take your money. She wants a boyfriend or to get married or to learn something about having sex from somebody who has been around the world. Sell yourself as classy and you will have no problem. Buy drinks, buy food, then take her out a few times to some nice places" (Kichuna2).

Much appreciation to Kichuna2 for his thoughtful ramblings, I wish more of us would write in this way! Dont worry about the length of the text guys, we all have differing interests and can easily skim-read to get to the juicest bits, either about where to find the gorgeous girls, or the best decor, or mongering advice in general.

However i would just point out that the gals themselves act differently according to whether a man is a Kenyan or a white.

For example, Kichuna2 says that one can wine and dine a classy Kenyan lady and in the end she will sleep with you and not ask for any money, but this wouldnt happen for a white, the ladies still ask for huge amounts of money and if you offer them a token 1k or even 2k for "taxi home" they will ridicule you no end and start to say you are treating them like a prostitute. They were expecting big money, gifts of expensive mobile phones, and even to be rented nice apartments etc etc, in fact such ladies are to be very much avoided!! Men want "no-strings-attached" fun and thats why they end up picking up a less-classy girl, instead of spending hours and hours with a classy girl, wining and dining her, and then, from experience what often happens, is that after eating and getting drunk, the girl will pretend to be called by her gal-pals to a location she knows you wont want to go to, either these poxy discos where they play only music young ladies love, or .... any way of getting away from you after she has eaten your money and time for some hours!!

For a white who is a visitor or who lives in Kenya most of the time, my advice is to look for a lady who is neither a pro nor a gold-digger. When chatting with her initially, find out what kind of day-job she does, and why she is there where you are. Its hard sometimes coz even the pros will give you bullshit answers, but, try to read between the lines, and you may strike gold! Many working Nairobi ladies go to Mombasa for their holidays, and are open to having fun at nights as well as daytime fun. Also, of the local gals in Mombasa, not all are out for big-money. I would ask the girl quite early on, when she asks if you would like her company, ask her what she would expect from you. Dont mention MONEY, let her do that herself. Others would just say to have fun and some drinks at your expense. But being ladies, they will always want to keep you guessing as to whether or not you will get some action..it's pot luck! If its two gals together, it may be worth the extra drinks and encourage them to stick together.. you may end up sleeping with both of them as a threesome. Being friends they trust each other more, so, maybe they would be happy to give you oral sex together (ie not afraid of licking the other's saliva on the dick) or even let you keep on the same condom for both... its a pain to have to keep changing condoms every time one wants to penetrate the other... it ruins the flow of the threesome action. Once I did that and in the morning I picked up 10 condoms from the floor.. i had fcked each gal 5 times but they hadnt partaken fully together...each took her turn. (Not a proper threesome!). But at least neither of them asked for cash.

Lets keep these fora (forums) alive and full of personal insights and experience. Regarding mobile internet access, I use Zain unlimited, its 3k a month, using a phone as modem. You can buy a USB modem from them but they say its slower than using a decent phone like my Nokia N70. But beware when roaming to Tz or Ug, they will clobber you with roaming charges. Just spent a week in Tz using the same Zain connection with my laptop and they whacked 4k onto my bill! If I had known that in advance I would have just used cyber cafes in Tz, which are very cheap. The Zain connection while roaming was much slower than when in Kenya.

Does anybody know a good and reliable pharmacy (regarding the drug ingredients) selling pharmaceuticals like

a) Cialis
b) Provigil (Modafinil/Modalert)
which are normally produced in India.

I'm interested in Modafinil especially.
Have problems to order them from international pharmacies cause they won't ship to germany as there are many seizures of India products. Above all there are not many I would hand out my data. I ordered cialis once and they bombed me with ads and was spammed by others since I ordered.

Ask to see Dr. Hassan, the pharmacist. He carries genuine Cialis 20mg at 1, 500 per blister of 2, genuine Viagra as well as several Made in India generics. I regularly use Vega 100 at 1, 000 per 4pak; every bit as effective as the Pfizer product, but without the headflush associated with the real Viagra.

After being in Mombasa 4 time I was quiet shocked to see all the reports on Bamburi Police:

http://cops.hyperphp.com

How is the situation wirght now?

I mean I was staying 2001, 2003 an 2004 at Bamburi Resort, Travelers and Indiana and field quiet happy and saved everywhere I went; Downtown, Shanzu, Bamburi, Mtwapa.

But if the police act like a few members described. I think I'd better stay away. Because some similar shit happened to me 2 years ago in Ghana, where I had to pay $ 500.- for nothing, just not to get arrested, after spending a ST with a police conected hooker.

Please report about the current situation. Thanks.

Only the old retired german cheap charlies had problems; the used girls and
called them their girl-friends; given no money; one of them got catched

between the girl and the police. It cost him round 100000 ksh

Don't blame the old German expats! Of course some of them are brutes and drunkards but a lot of them are a precious source of information. And they keep the prices low. A fair standard price for a girl is KSh. 1000, 00 plus taxi money 200. 500 KSh. When good service. Of course there are cheap charlies that want to pay only 500 KSh. Anyway for the expats there are a lot of girls around. As for the Bamburi girls especially Cheers girls take care. Mostly are hardcore *****s and they may work with the Bamburi police. I heard no good things of the Bamburiv scene and Mtwapa and Tembo is a more secure hunting ground. Bamburi is not a good palce for greenhorns. The standard price for the locals is 300 KSh. But they make normally only short term.

As per the expats they take the girl home and offer them a good meal and drinks. There are a lot of girls that live in a shack and are happy to live a short time in an comfortable & Scaappartment.

Mostly 40 years old and up

Two types as follows:

1. Ladies with their families mainly at the beach hotels

2. Sex tourist mainly at Mtwapa but also at other place

All of the available girls just fuck black guys more frequent then I eat lunch. They addicted to black and they need more sex then us. My black escort male friends, (just normal nice persons that need money) told me all about the sex industry aimed for white ladies.

No "normal" tourist ladies here, as you can find in other places such as zanzibar or Madagascar.

I'm hearing mixed reports on how girl-friendly this place is. I stayed in Fontana last time but the old lady who runs the place is unfriendly and it's far from the Big Tree / Cheers action. Bam Beach Resort quoted me 3500/day for a 1 bdrm apt, but if I can't bring back ladies freely, what's the point.

But you are sharing a veranda & a kitchen with the next apartment, this doesn't have to be a problem when you have a quiet neighbour, but if there is an Indian family staying next to you with a countless number of persons camping in what is basically a two person room.

I mean I do like to eat a good curry every now & then, but I don't want to smell it the whole day.

They recently had a fire raging there and a few cottages were burned, I don't know how is the situation there now.

Why don't you just rent an apartment at the Big Tree itself?

Bamburi Beach quoted a price on rooms aside from the "1 bedroom self catering cottage" which I figured is what you are referring to. They quote a similar price on a "1 double room" which the website says has AC. It was this double room I figured might be OK if I had no problem with the guards.

I would rent an apt at Big Tree if it had AC. Last time I was there I noted no ACs at Big Tree. Mombassa is a tough place to be without some AC. Are there ACs in those Big Tree apartments? Do you have there #.

for speed i would recommend safaricom. for 2500/- you get 1gb in prepaid which if you are just brwsing websites and sending e-mails, can last for more than one month ( i.e equivalent to zains 'unlimited'), plus you browse at the fastest speed i have experienced so far. its much faster than the access kenya 30,000/= a month, 24 hour broadband we use in the office. when i am broke, i top up with 50/= and browse at 8/= per mb, which is enough for sending e-mails and looking up information. i dont visit cybercafes anymore.

however that being said, i wonder if zain will introduce 3g and if yes, what will be the rates. it would be nice for the prices to go down.

Hello ebonylovers,

Mid November I expect to arrive in Mombasa and intend to stay there for 3-4 months. Maybe I will take some breaks to travel around a bit. I would like to rent a fully furnished apartment in Mombasa or its surroundings. Not much luxury is needed and 1 bedroom will do. Although security is important. Anyone can provide me with addresses of renting agencies etc. : postal address, telephone, email and website. Also other suggestions are wellcome. How much expect to pay for the rent? Anyhow, thanks already for your help and advice.

Good hunting,

Go to Mtwapa and walk around.

If you are blind then one hour is reasonable time to get one.

Prices?

12, 000ksh for a month for tourist style. (full furnishing)

Don't have a negotiations skills?

Pay Double or learn to negotiate.

Don't find a girl in mtwapa?

Try to open your eyes because every single guy here have ladies more the the desert contain sands.

Why I am so sure about all this?

Because I lived there as a resident.

I know the peak season sucks, but my fucking job makes in necessary.

Mtwapa is not exactly a holiday destination.

Its an African village dirty and dusty so only long time residents rent there.

Far from center of the action? In Mombasa district there is no such term as "far" or "action". Its simply part of they daily life take so just go to the market, take DVD from the store or any other "non-mongering" activity and you will find many ladies.

Forget google. Use use feet around kendas hotel area and visit every house with a sign or without it. And don't be afraid to get help from the locals they nice.

Anyhow, thanks already for your help and advice.Hi Freddy,

At Nakumatt Nyali there is a wall with advertisements next to the Bookstore Café.

Try to find an Appartement in a compound in Nyali or Shanzu (Beach Side only!). Best is an upper floor as you have the breeze from the sea. Then you don't need an A/C.

Mtwapa is really dirty and cheap.

Hi guys!

I was in Mombasa last week for some leisure and some mongering. I had this experience that I would like to share with you hoping that someone will comment on it. While in Mombasa I decided to check out Mtwapa for two days. One of the things you notice is the innumerable number of relatively beautiful women moving up and down in that township. This intensifies as the sun sets. As usual I wanted to check some out so I went to some pubs there. There is this pub which I checked first, the One palm resort. Around 9pm there were lots of women but the place itself is not decent. I guess that all the girls there are pros. After a few minutes I left without taking any drink. I then went to Kendas Arcade, just a street behind the one palm resort pub. Around 10pm (was on a Saturday) there weren't many women there thought the place is much more decent than the One palm resort. On my way there I met this girl (of Luo tribe) who was leisurely strolling there. She had a booty that I liked and decided to say Hi to her. She sounded friendly and so I decided to spend the rest of the evening with her at Kendas. I bought her a beer (together with myself) and started chatting. After the first beer she asked me if I wanted to chew some miraa (some common local herbs that many people here chew). I wanted to try them so I agreed. She went out and bought a good handful of that with some chewing gums. I must say, they don't have a special taste but you just find yourself chewing one stick after the other as you sip your beer and chat. This went on for about two and half hours and after sometime you kind of feel its effect. You feel "high"!

Now as we chatted with my girl, I came to discover that she was a very conservative girl. When we talked loosely she would make statements like " I wouldn't ever suck a man's dick". And things like doggie style were out for her leave alone anal sex. Clearly I knew I wasn't spending the night with this girl and so I started to flirt around with other girls at Kendas. She noticed at the end that I wasn't much into her though I bought her drinks. A short, slim Kikuyu girl appeared from nowhere. She had quite appealing short smooth legs in a miniskirt (schoolgirl style). I didn't waste much time: I bid by to the other girl and took this one. I told her that was going to bed if she wanted to come with me. She asked me for KSh 1500 for the night after I asked her if she does BJ and doggie style.

We went to the room and first took a shower. After undressing I liked her body even more. Then guys, the strangest thing in my life happened:

My dick couldn't get erect! She tried to wake it up. Nothing!

This has never happened to me before. Guys when I fuck, I go not less than 5 time in an night and my dick is always up. This was so cruel on me with this little angel in my bed. She asked me whether I have chewed miraa. She told me that was precisely the reason. I said to myself. Never will I chew miraa again.

To be continued.

After my "manhood" failed me with alot of embarassment I asked my little Kikuyu girl (janet)to stay on for a while. She tried to suck it but still "he" couldn't stand. I gave the girl 500 Ksh and let her off but arranged that we meet at Kendas the following day afternoon.

Alone in the room I took a shower and hit the bed. I noticed that sleep never came that easily because of this miraa stuff. Well, at a certain point I slept and woke up the following day at 10. 30am. Thinking of the Kikuyu girl (Janet) I tried to awake my manhood, this time manually, to see whether he was there or not. He woke up! I wanted to masturbate abit but thought. Let all be for janet. I said hurra! After breakfast I was now waiting to meet Janet to show that I can fuck. Around 2pm I went to Kendas and Janet was already there. I took a drink with her and then proceed to the hotel. She was hot. Still dressed up, I could pack up her two little but firm booty parts. She would moan. This time round she noticed my dick almost poking out my pants. She undressed and unzipped my pants letting out my dick. She sucked it so well after covering it with a condom that I found myself sighing loud. A minute later we were both on bed. The missionary style. Guys, this girl seemed to enjoy what we were doing. I could drive my dick in and out as she raised her leg up in the air. Tightly holding my back and butt, sighing and almost screeming. I am sure that people in the nearby rooms were aware that we were fucking. And fucking seriously. I couldn't hold for long this first round. I unloaded myself mightly in the condom inside her nice looking pussy. As usual my dick never droops after the first round, and this was the case here. Which meant I was no longer under miraa influence.

After removing the rubber and putting on a new one, I was ready for my favourate style. The doggie. I stood and she positioned herself at the edge of the bed. A perfect sight of her tight butt. Thrusting her tight pussy up in the air (the doggie way) I shoved my "d***" right inside and begun pumping with slow motion. Imagine the sight of it all. I caressed her entire body in this style as she unpretendingly enjoyed it all. That was a fuck of the year. During this round we fucked in about 6 styles lasting for about 30 minutes. I came on her back. We were sweating and tired so we took a shower and rested for a while. When I was about to fall asleep I realized that she was holding my dick. Like she wanted more. My dick was up again. We enjoyed a 20 minute foreplay then fucked her again. She was nice. I gave her 1500 Ksh. And took her phone number.

I will definetly meet her again. She told me that she also goes to One Palm and Casaurina. Some of you guys might have met her. She told me that she is Janet Ciru. She has an unpigmented patch near one of her boobs (looks whitish). Incase you saw her nude. Of course she is shy about it and you see her trying to hide it when she is nute. But a nice girl. Thumbs up

Of course it is not, if you want some silence and decency of a certain nevoue. Many times this township is dusty and not very clean but I am struck by how many women live there. Even during daytime you see many nice looking women walking up and down. The setting of the sun brings them out in tons! You just need to spot any, the one you like, and there you go for a booty. They seem to know how to dress their pretty bodies. In the recent years, two more decent clubs came up: the Lambada and the Legend. Especially in the late evening, you can get yourself pleasant booties at Lambada (after the Kikambala stage). Club Legend is more recent (near the Kendas Arcade) and has not (in my opinion) picked up well yet. But it is a nice place for some cold beers as you do the hunting. What am saying is: if you want to sample a wide range of Mombasa booty with cheaper menu, this could also be a place to check out. ST will range from Ksh 200 to 400. I remember being offered LT for as little as 700 by a not-so-bad-looking girl! I think the reason is that there is a lot of competition. Be informed, local guyz poke these booties even with Ksh 150 or simply with a motorbike ride (for those guys who do motorbike taxis)! Definately it is not the classic holiday destination, but for a monger, not too bad. But guys always play it safe, these booties are not your GFs, they are Pros. Use rubber!

For all those who'd rather rent an appartment, I enclose pics of a few billboards, all in the vicinity of Nakumatt Nyali.

To dial a MBA landline, press +254 41, drop the first 0, then press the last 7 or 6 digits.

To dial a # beginning with 020, press +254. 20 and so on.

To dial a Kenya cell # beginning with 0713 upto 0736, you press +254, drop the first 0 and input the remaining 9 numbers.

Hope the other random pics get you into the mood to visit as well.

Whats the story in Mombasa, are all hotells girlfriendly? In general.

In Ghana, I would say all hotels are, never had any problem at any hotel, no matter the class, price etc.

Dont want to have any problems.

I could book at either.

They seem similar just wondering the pros and cons of each.

I presume you mean Bamburi Beach Resort, neighbour to Indiana. I would recommend BBR. You may have a problem here. Family owned. You would have to book a double.

Judging from Tercar 66 report, Indiana being GF, he does not state, single or double room rate? Well...the call is yours.

Personally, i would prefer BBR.

I'm contemplating staying in Mombassa over Christmas and would like a budget hotel near the action (anything up to 4,000ks a day). Having looked through the reports some of the hotel recommendations are way out of my budget, such as the Bamburi Beach Resort, which will set me back 10,000ks a day! Ok, I know it's the most expensive time of the year but surely there are some options not geared towards the package tour industry.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a reasonably priced girl friendly guest house around Bamburi beach. I'm not fussed on the view or facilities but it would be nice to have a fridge and tv. I'm also considering Mombasa town and wonder whether it's a good base of operation for mongering?
