...What kind of equipment or software did you use to get such natural skin tone?...The secret is to use an indirect flash (not possible with the built in). The camera I used is a Nikon D200, but similar results should be possible with any of the newer reflex cameras.
I use one of the best lenses Nikon has, 18-200. Makes it very easy to get closeups without getting too close. I attach one shot from a Bangkok Party a couple of months back. There again you see what a difference heavy makeup makes.
More interresting lighting could be achieved by an external flash away from the camera. But who would want to carry all that stuff.

That iso1600 was set accidentally from nightshots before, forgot to reset. Totally unnecessary for the flash pics. But with this camera (Nikon D200), eventhough I have experience with many cameras before, without manual you are completely lost.
As you see the noise in pic 03, at that time I regrettet the setting.
I add some pics that I have shot from my appartment being bored not being able to go out. They show the full capabilities of the camera.
But you will need to see the 18mm shot in comparison to understand.

These last couple of days were spent at the Guangdong International Hotel, not to be confused with the Guangzhou Asia International Hotel across the street. I was surprised to find staff stationed on each floor, just like in the old days. The Chairman would be pleased. One of the staff on my floor even challenged me at 8:00 p.m. in the evening when I brought in a female friend. I emphatically told that person I was not going to register a visitor at 8:00 p.m.! Later I brought the girl pictured below into the hotel well after 11:00 p.m., but no one said a thing. Go figure.
