I have noticed that some of the Chinese people seem to resent westerners dating younger Chinese women.
In June when I went to Beijing with my freebie and my buddy and his Chinese fiancee we caught some crap from local guys mainly....in the resturantes we were always treated very well and had good times...but once on the street some guys yelled out (after we passed and were 100 yards away) "hey American, I like your girlfriend how much" I was hot and started to go back but my buddy convinced me it wasn't the time or place.....then he returned to them in Chinese "Go home and F your mother" and they didn't say anything else.
Not sure if it just the cultural thing that they don't like us dating the Chinese women, or fif they are jealous, or what it is. But I know that it was one of my ex-freebies that was taken away.
Always trying to learn more so as not to get myself in trouble. When I stayed at the Portman, they never gave me a problem at all. The bellman even asked me one time when I was alone at night "Mr. where is your girlfriend?" I said she had to go home tonight...he said "I'm sorry to hear that". So they were cool about it...but for what I pay when I'm at the Portman they should treat me well.

Because of the problems at the Hilton not being Girl friendly, I cancel my reservation. I am looking to make my new reservations at the Ritz Portman, because of it location, being close to the Hilton. Has anybody had any problems at the Portman with being a friend back for the night? Is there any action around the Portman? Any input would be great!

Of course those local guys are jealous. Wouldn't you be? They are guys with low level jobs, no education, total losers that those girls wouldn't date even if they were inclined to date a Chinese guy. You can add on top of it racist just for good measure. This is China where a good portion of the population are either peasants or former peasants with no future and little chance of even getting a decent Chinese female. They are not even worth kicking their ass.
No problems with bringing girls to the Portman,,,EXCEPT that if the girl is coming in or leaving by herself she may be forced to pay a tip to the security guards, to avoid this just walk her in and out of the hotel.

Sorry to say so, but I have a very different picture about Chinese. I do live and work in Shanghai, and I am surrounded by many highly educated, sophisticated Chinese, men and women.
You should be a little careful with your attitude and your wording here, if not, it might happen that you shall face some surprising reality check one day.

IMHO, the resentment is not necessarily related to education level. I also work with some highly educated Chinese. However, I must say the sophistication level is below that of more developed nations. This is only natural since exposure to the outside has been relatively short and many Chinese tend to stay at home longer than in the West. Having said that, there are exceptions, and the masses are getting there very, very fast.
I am married to a Chinese woman and we still get looks and hear comments made from time to time. I also hear comments from local guys when I am mongering. There are also those that make the assumption that every girl with a foreigner must be a pro. I think this has to do with conservatism, rather than education or financial wherewithall.

You easily find the same intolerance also in Western countries. Just to give you a short example: I took a colleague from Europe out the other night, a pretty young fellow. We went to 'Luna' in Xintiandi. Many hot chicks there, and one particularly nice one was dancing with an elder western guy. My colleague was already a little bit drunk and turned aggressive. I hardly could stop him to approach the guy in order to make clear to him that he is much too old for that girl.

I don't want to offense anyone. But you need to be careful, don't underestimate chinese as low level or peasant.
There is a social issue with Asian women and society, not only in China but Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, ...
Women are smart, ambitious. Dating a foreigner is one way to access prosperity, liberty and better life.
Many of my friends, end-up with divorcing their wife to marry a local girl friend.
Local guys are jealous, of course, because they don't have the money power as we have to attract girls.
Do you think that all these girls are after you because you are nice guy ? Probably, few of them are. But many of them are after your fat wallet.

On the other hand, I could easily give you 5 - 10 examples from my circle of friends here in China when the Chinese woman did build up a fortune for the both once they had the (mainly financial) support by their 'fat wallets'. So, a Chinese woman also can be a good investment! My 2 cents ....

i have to admit, i am mildly affended by the attitudes expressed by some of the people here. to refer to chinese men as peasants with no education and no income prospects is just mean and ignorant. what's wrong with being a peasant? i have an ivy league education in the classics. i can speak 4 languages, but chinese is not one of them. i have an iq in the 160's and i'm mathematically inclined. i also have what may be termed a decent income. i own a house worth over $1 million and a couple of other properties. you know what? sometimes, i wish my life were simpler and i didn't have any of that crap.
we say we have more money than them. so what? does money really mean that much? is money the true measure of happiness? i dare say not. i bet a lot of peasants working on their farms are a lot happier with their simple lives than many of us with our ever complex lives. maybe it's us who are clueless and maybe it's us who should learn from them, instead of vice versa.
we say they're ignorant. are they really? maybe we know a bit more about manufacturing than the peasants, but i bet they know a hell of a lot more about agriculture than us. they know the lay of their land like the back of their hand. they have intimate knowledge of their ecosystems and the flora and fauna that surrounds them. what do we know? we know the models of the cars that pass us by and the watch brands of our peers. big stinkin' deal.
why are these guys losers? we have to pay their women to be with us and pay them stupid amounts, a month's wages for a night sometimes. don't you think they look at us and see the big "l" on our foreheads? none of them would ever think to be that stupid.
chinese people are people. we're no better than them. they're no better than us. if we lose sight of that fact, we lose a little bit of our humanity.
I agree with moody. There are a lot of very good poor chinese people. Some with beautiful daughters so let not bust them to much their life is hard enough and if it wasn't that they need that hospital trip the daughter might not turn to a life of pleasing strange men for the cost of a big mac value meal at the grand canyon.

I passed some places the other day on a bus that might be good mongering grounds. I didn't have time to check them out, but if you do please post. They are on pudong ave between dong chang and dong fang rds. On both sides of the street. They are not piled up like they are in some places and the street is very busy and wide so going from one side to another will take a little extra time, but from the looks it was the proper type of establishment. They had the xmas lights and red light. Several had four or more good looking girls standing at the door waving.
Also on a taxi ride home from Super Brand mall I noticed a huge well lit sauna that looked like it might have services. My experience is that Saunas are always fairly expensive similar to KTVs in price.

This has scarred me a little since you can get it even if you use protection, and that even a puritanical country like america one in five people have it. Just think what the population of asian prostitute is.
It seems washing yourself very well with soap and water after the act helps prevent it. So play safe use a condom and make certain you get tested often and keep yourself clean both before and after the act.

Ok, who likes Saunas with FS? For all those that raise their hands, go here: Go tell a taxi "Yan Ping Lu, Xing Zha lu" in Jingan District. You will see a big ass sauna called AoJin Sauna. Don't go in there because that is a big piece of shit. Instead, go North on Yan Ping road, on the right hand side. Keep walking and before you hit the next stoplight, there is an alleyway on your right hand side. You will see a massage house (nothing special here) and a sauna that has no English signs. Talking about the Chinese guys as being poor is kinda silly. The reason being that when you go out to KTV and other entertainment places I don't see the non chinese dishing out thousands of rmb for a night of fun. For the record, half the time they don't even care if the get FS out of it. Try partying with them and I bet you'll have a blast.

You are right about one thing....I think in general some men don't like older guys with younger women.
Since my hair actually started turning white when I was 15, by the time I was in my 30's I was totally white. Many times I walked with my wife (who is only 3 years younger but looked younger) and had someone drive by and yell something like "hey buddy your daughters hot"....and I got used to it, only had to drop a few guys over the years for being rude. But why is it that so many men like younger women except when they aren't with one, then it's wrong?
And by the way I have never said anything about the local Chinese men being peasents or anything of the sort and never meant to imply that if it was taken that way. But some how I have been attached to someone elses comments and just want everyone to know I never thought that or said it. Jealous maybe, but nothing else.

I would think that folks from Europe or North America (generally speaking) who are currently living in major cities in east coastal area in China would have reasonable substance for their career build-up or financial security. They may have respective business knowledge, drive for success and survival skills in corporate life and therefore they are at where they are now.
However some of us do not necessarily have understanding and perspectives for similar and respective attributes in diverse culture, ethnicity, frame of mind and the likes. And these folks have not learn the process of how to run logical side of the brain than emotional side of the brain, or running the mouth before articulation in mind.
I’m often saddened by encountering such folks in various circumstances like social settings (like WSG), business/professional environment, personal engagement like parties where you meet acquaintances of your acquaintance. I am not saddened by such folks but am saddened by the fact that all those people who will eternally suffer through involvement and engagement with such folks.

I think Moody hit it right on the nail. Money does not equal to happiness. I went to a nice school, working for a global company, make a decent living, own investments in the US and China, and I sometimes envy those who live a simple life, not surrounded by the complicated environment. There is a old saying, "Great power comes with great responsibility". (From Spiderman) I think it is equally true that the more money you have the more trouble you have and the more options you have the more prone that you are to mistakes. Once a while I imagine myself living a simpler life (vacation), but my cellphone would always pour ice water down head to wake me to my complicated world. Maybe one day, I might abandon my career in the financial field, and start planting some seeds in the field. Then, I won't have to worry about my computer is down, or my client is not happy, , or new investments that might interest the clients, or strict regulatons that I need to follow, or working until late night to finish a proposal, or spending less time with loved ones. Maybe that is called PEACE AT MIND. Someday.
My comments are being interpreted in a very interesting way. So let me clarify. I did not say that Chinese are only peasants. But the fact is a large portion of the population still are just that. I do not think being a peasant is bad. I have met some very kind ones in China actually. I also know there are many very smart Chinese men and women. I am often very impressed by the students there. I also agree that education does not mean that you will be more accepting of foreign/Chinese couples. I perhaps assumed wrong that the locals that were being referred to were those guys who tend to hang on the streets with nothing to do. These are generally just the type of guys I was referring to. A Chinese person with any class would not call out on the street know matter how much they despise you or the fact you have a Chinese girlfriend. So these are the kind of guys who might feel just as I said. They might feel jealous or resentful do to their lot in life.
I also want to add that often many peasants or former peasants in China do have very little prospects for advancement. Many do want what they see foreigners as having. Again, that does not mean I think I that we are better than them. It just makes sense that they might be jealous. There is a true shortage of Chinese women. If you look at the birth rates you can see exactly that. I would also say that anyone who disagrees with what I said that a large part of the Chinese population are peasants should check the figures. You will find it is true. As for off2golf, I really don't care about your IQ or anything else. Despite your "160" IQ your reading comprehension needs some work.

Wow, regarding the comments of locals, there are some REALLY ignorant people on the board. It seems theres really some chinese/asian vs. western beef. Here's a piece of info: the really "HOT/HIGH END" girls are in KTVs, etc servicing high end asian men (local businessmen, HK, TW, Japanese, etc). They are NOT in bars looking for any type of western guy old or young. Just take park97 for example, the hottest girls are at tables with rich chinese/asian men. They have bottles of chivas, champagne, etc. Upstairs are western wankers with mediocre asian girls complaining about 50 rmb drinks. Luckily there are some good looking ABC girls.
Very rarely is a western guy with a girl that a local peasant, local business man, or even a local student would deem "good looking". Maybe its just a matter of taste...

Hilton vicinity action report:
This comes somewhat to the rescue of the Hilton, which came heavily under fire recently because of its girl-unfriendliness.
There are some bbs and a sauna in walking distance of the Hilton (about 10 -15 minutes walk).
Walk to to the triangle Wulumuqi-Yanan West- and Nanjing West Road. The 3 roads do form a triangle, as Nanjing Road is floating into Yanan Road, and both are crossed by Wulumuqi Road shortly before the conjunction.
Shortly before Wulumuqi Road is crossing Nanjing Road, on Wulumuqi Road, there is a small alley, next to a Chinese Fastfood Restaurant. There is a spinner outside of the alley, indicating hairdressing. There is a gamble room advertizing, and advertizing for foot massage.
The first shop in this alley is a bbs. The amount of girls is varying, but ... everything is possible there.
Then, on Nanjing West Road, cross the street, walk in the direction Yanan Road. You will find a small bbs. Everything possible here, but you have to be an acrobat to climb the ladder to reach the 'pleasuredome'. If you go there, you will know what I mean.
Then, same street side, same direction (towards Yanan), there is a sauna. I went there once, apparently everything possible, I just was too drunk that day to have a clear memory of what happened.
Then, again same street (Nanjing West Road), same street side, just at the corner Yanan and Nanjing Road, another small bbs, and again, everything possible there. The place sucks, though.

Once again Levitian has it wrong. My comment was not about "Chinese Men". Like I said that all Chinese guys have some problem or something. My comment for the last time referred to the kind of guys who say those kind of things in the streets. I have many friends who are "Chinese Men". Now, I have had that same situation where those loser type guys say things when I am with a Chinese girl. I have had my Chinese male friends with me and they are the first ones to let those kind of guys have it. They often would get more irritated than I would. Now, as for Peasant being some kind of bad word. It is not. My wife who happens to be Chinese has relatives who are peasants. There is nothing wrong with being a peasant. If people want to take my other comments any way they like that is their business.

I don't buy the older/younger theory. All men, Chinese, especially Chinese, like younger women.
I don't buy the jealous of money theory. There are plenty of very, very wealthy, Chinese guys out there.
I don't buy the lack of education theory.
I am not a psychologist but I believe it is a lack of self esteem issue on their part. They look at the girl with resentment and think, "What's the matter, Chinese men are not good enough?"
I believe we might equate the same theory with the feeling of some white guys in the states regarding white women with black men.

Regarding Chinese men, peasants, etc,
This heated debate seems to be getting a little convoluted, and hope I don't make it worse. But, here is my 2 fen worth.
First, wouldn't you be personally jealous of all those foreigners who are percieved to be wealthy people with a nice living all swarming around in your country shagging all the local hotties? It is really difficult for the vast majority of local Chinese to make an equally nice living and shag eqally nice hotties.
Material wealth is something that is of high desire in a developing country (think hierarchy of needs). So jealousy on this basic material/money level is pretty common.
We have to remember that those people living in the big cities equal a very miniscule percentage of the overall population in China. Why do you think there are so many Wai di ren trying to get to the cities? For jobs and hopes of a better living, thats why. The same thing happened in the United States. A very small percentage of the current population works the farm anymore in the States. It used to be the reverse.
There are 100's of millions of people in China just trying to make ends meet. Their hierarchy of needs are way different than that of people from developed countries. I want to emphasize, not lower, just different.
When a society changes from a primarily agrarian society to an industrialized one, nobody wants to be a farmer anymore because everyone is looking for a better paying city job and the hope of a better living. Would you want to be a farmer? I sure wouldn't, its really hard work, and you get squat for your efforts.
Plus don't forget the plight of the peasant in China. Cadre members are notorious for levying illegal taxes and basically screwing the poor peasant until he has nothing left. Off the backs of the peasant, China rests. The disparity between those that have and have not is massive and getting worse.
By the way, "Peasant" is just a term which basically means farmer. There are rich peasants and poor peasants. In Guangdong Province there tend to be rich peasants because of the fertile land and good channels for distribution, and they lead a pretty decent life for a farmer. Out west, you have drought, poor soil and inefficient transportation systems.
The Chinese guys who are pissed that all the white guys are "taking their women" are probably very interracially conservative. All societies have people like that, perhaps China has more of them who are willing to voice their opinion. As OldAsiaHand stated, racial bias is still a problem in the US.
You have to remember that Chinese people are very proud and conservative people. For millennia, China has never like foreigners, except that by force, foreigners were allowed access to trade. So you foreigners want to make a pile of money in our country AND you want the women too?
And, lastly, women have what men dont' have - they have vaginas! Sorry:)

Ok, how do you get out of your miserable situation? Marry well. Women can do this much more readily than men can (see "what women have that men don't" and "bad joke"). I know of one Chinese male marred to a Foreign female, and I know of another marriage that ended in divorce. Basically women want to marry their equal or higher when it comes to social, political or economic standing and foreigners open up the pool of prospects, and in the minds of many Chinese women, foreigners are some pretty good prospects, often deemed better than local Chinese men.
The ability to offer a new, relatively comfortable life in a developed country is something most Chinese men can not offer. As well, you offer your children the prosepects of a better life. Why do you think there was so much mass immigration from Europe to the US at the time of the US industrial revolution?

Well, it certainly is YMMV with BBS. After a bit of a dry spell, I finally had a good experience last night.
Went to my usual BBS stomping grounds not too far from where I live in Pudong. On Shangcheng Lu, just west of the intersection with Yuanshen Lu, there is a string of 3 BBS on the north side of the road.

I am staying at Hilton Hotel (Jing-An Hilton Hotel, Shanghai) at 250 Hua Shan Road. You will find a quite substantial SW activity in the hotel area, i. e. on the walkway in front of the hotel and at opposite side, and in the surrounding streets. It usually starts at darkness and continues until around 2:00 in the night.
Personally I was not impressed by the quality of (sw) talent available and would rate it at best up to average. They do approach every man, so there is no way to miss them. Going out of the Hilton and facing right hand side approx. 300 m down the street you will find a small street on the left hand side with approx 20 pubs and girls. Even I did not check them out personally it seemed not to recommendable to me.

For those of you staying in the Jin Mao (Hyatt) looking for your local BBS here you go. Hop into a taxi and ask the driver to take you to 'Qi Lu Wan Yi Da Jiu Dian" (Courtyard Hotel by Marriott). It is on the corner of Dong Fang Lu and Wei Fang Lu, a 23RMB, 7 minute taxi trip from Jin Mao.
Straight across the road from the Hotel taxi drop off point, on Wei Fang Lu, is the first BBS (Black and white BBS sign), which is open day and night. Ah I give up! I don't usually attend these places but it's been a few months so what the heck.
Went to 751 Huangpi Road tonight (Sunday night). Not a mongerer in site as I think the weekend is more quiet. It's 2 blocks south of Fuxing Road before you hit Jianguo Road on the east side of Huangpi. Walked around town tonight... I walked into a place that is west of Chendu Road (it's the small road that is beside the park as most of Chendu Road is the big road). So the place is about 10 stores away west of Chendu on Changle Road. If you keep walking and you pass a cafe or a Korean restaurant, you've gone too far. To clarify the area, Changle Road is one block north of Huaihai Road or one block south of YanAn Road (it's one block south of YanAn only at the Chendu Road part... if you are anywhere else on Changle Road, there are a few blocks in between YanAn and Changle).
I walked in inquiring about services and the papasan told me it was 20 RMB for the taifei. I asked about take out to Xujiahui and he said "no, can't do that". I then decided not to go for this place.

I think I do know the place. It was mentioned long time ago by the former 'star' of this threat, the unforgetable BNC. It is located rather at the begin of Changle Road, 2nd or 3rd block.
The place did shrink over the last months. Before, it was larger and on 2 floors, now they cut it down on one floor only. BJ is available there, but no FS anymore (might be a matter of negotiation). If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel or apartment, check out the Jing an Hotel. It is around the corner from the Hilton, 3-4 star level, clean and 2 min from the Hilton. Last I booked for someone it was ~RMB500 per nite. Further up to west/north is a Sommerset Service Apartment (same operation as one by xintindi but older) on yang an road. I recall pretty good rates.
As for girl friendly, I think the Hilton is the exception - I can't think of any hotel in sh not friendly, don't know what the management in Hilton is thinking about.

I have just come back from Shanghai and was going to post pretty much the same as yourself. If you go up a little further past the Marriot Courtyard, cross an intersection and about 20-30 metres on the LHS is a series of massage opportunities. I was in Shanghai for 3 days and four nights.
I was taken to "The Ritz Union". This is legitimate massage salon, spa and restaurant. You are greeted by uniformed parking lot/bellman. Escorted to the reception desk by an eloquently dress hostess.
You check in and then are shown the way to the mens locker room. This is a coed facility.
You are then given a locker where you undress and given a towel. You are then escorted to the showers and spa area. You take a shower and then a steam bath or sauna. After another shower you are given a soft cotton pair of shorts, matching v-neck short sleeved and a new pair of slippers.
You then go upstairs to the restaurant and enjoy their lite Chinese fare.
After the lite meal you are escorted into a room where you can have many choices of treatment. We all opted for the one hour upper body massage.
There were three of us and we all were in the same room which contained four massage beds. Your individual girl came in and introduced herself and prepared you for your treatment. They all were about 5' tall and under 100 lbs.
They are all trained and the treatments actually were painful at times. However, the most complete and relaxing therapy I have experienced.
All of us fell asleep during our treatments but the next day we felt fresh and no effects of the 14 hour plane trip.

We were staying in the Pudong area at the Intercontinental Hotel. This hotel is rated five stars and is on the other side of the river from most of the action.
However, they do not seem to have a problem with bringing someone to your room. Getting in late the first night and hitting the Ritz Union (previous post) I unpacked and went down to the hotel bar.
They have local live entertainment until 1: 00PM and have always had an ample amount of local talent.

SHANGHAI — Two Japanese were indicted in Shanghai this week in relation to a case in which about 20 Japanese visiting the city in late May were found to have hired prostitutes, officials of the Japanese consulate in Shanghai said Friday.
The two are employees of Japanese companies in Shanghai and are suspected of arranging the sexual activities, according to the officials.
According to sources close to the case, the group of Japanese invited bar hostesses to a hotel they were staying in to buy sex.
Non-Chinese who are caught hiring prostitutes are usually released after being fined, but the two were believed to have been indicted since they allegedly made the arrangements. A similar case last year in Zhuhai, a coastal city in Guangdong Province, involving about 380 Japanese tourists sparked an uproar in China following reports by local media.
But Chinese media have not reported the case in question.
According to the sources, the case was exposed after conductors of the tour, who were angered by the tourists who visited a bar different from the one they had chosen, reported it to police.

Head Southwest along Pudong Nan Lu and you soon come to Eshan Lu on the left. There is now an impressive selection of about 20 BBS along this quite short street in three groups.
The first group of BBS is about halfway along the first block from Pudong Nan Lu on the right. There are four or so BBS with good-looking and sexily dressed women. This is no GFE experience. The women bargain quite hard, and the deal seems to be a BJ for 150-200 RMB. No great deal but good quality.

Here are some observations, in no particular order:

Visited the factory located by Blankie, following the excellent directions of the captain. Reasonably convenient and close to civilization with Starbucks just around the corner. Everything pretty much as described. Place has reasonable cleanliness, and quality of girls is as good as can be expected. A bit soulless, but for 150 RMB, but what do you expect?

Yes, I agree 600 was high and higher than rest of SinaG's; I did it mostly to check out the SinaG which I had not know about till Jman showed the way. All and all I found SH market is relatively efficient. In the end price, product, service and environment do balance out and it is good to have variety, right?
For simple $/hit U can't beat BBS. As Cap graciously shares with us the BBS outside of the downtown cirle is 150; downtown BBS 200-400; then U have sauna at 600-800; and the high end KTY at 1000-2000. SinaG seem to fill the gap between 400-600. Place is bigger, either apartment of hotel; it is by appointment so one don't have to wait in line, but so far my sample is still small.

Nice massage parlor on Tianping Road, at the top of Hengshan Road, heading away from Huaihai. There's this big yellow sign with flashing neon for a massage place downstairs, there's a Hello Kitty store upstairs and it's part of some bigger health complex.

We're talking about 30 or 40 US dollars, what's the big deal? A round of drinks will cost you more than that in a decent bar back home.
It's pretty clear most posters are living in Shanghai and I'd say there isn't much to spend your money on here so it's not a big problem to go mongering. Just one example - back home I would have to pay for my car, gas, parking, insurance which comes to say, 1000 USD per month. Here I just pay about 1000 RMB per month for taxis. So lots of spare cash!
Then a meal out at home would be lucky to get change from 100 USD for two. Here again, 100 RMB you'd be very full.
If you find it hard then it just means you probably focus your spending elsewhere I guess.

Comparing the costs of goods and services between the US and China is an apples to oranges comparison. A comparison between China and India would be more appropriate.
China is a developing country still, prices SHOULD be lower. Services and products in China are often subpar compared to developed economies.
Supply and demand - there are so many pros because there are no jobs for them. The prices should really be lower except for the fact that there are guys out there that think the women are "so cheap".

Update on Yuen San (Cloud Mountain; 4th floor; 3911 Hong Mei Rd near Yang An Rd, Gubei) - they now added full size mattress on the floor (used to be just the regular massage bed; good fopr massage, bad for other activity), and with mirror right next to the mattress. Good size room enough for that plus a couch, clean, good decor/room color, making it the best sauna/massage room setup IMO. Regulars get discount at RMB550 for the VIP room. The building at Tongren and Yanan road is presently under construction as a new bar destination, according to an old GF who will own one of the bars. She says that many bars and girls plan to move here from Maoming road. So, keep an eye out for further developments.
Hilda is an old, big, fat bar owner. Her bar started on Yanan road, maybe, 12 to 14 years ago and was known as Hilda's Long Bar. It moved to Julu when the new highway went in. It used to be a good place for guys to meet and have a few beers without the constant "buy me drink" hassle.

Yes. Julu Lu bars went downhill a few years ago. The business picked up a little when Maoming road got shut down earlier this years and deparate folks look anywhere for some action. I'm no expert on this but since it is all girly bar format staffed with pro/semi-pro I don't think they'll ever get anywhere this day and age. 6 months past the Maoming road crack down SH has responded with quite a few new places lately worth checking out, if only it is not so damn cold lately.

Guilao, If you are heading from Yanan road toward Changle road, pass the City hotel and take a right onto Julu. The first BBS is at Xiangyang road on the right side. This one is not always open. If you continue quit a way up Julu, closer to the girly bars, there is one that is quite obviously not in the hair cutting business on the left side of the street. Had this one on my list of places to check out since a while. As I moved into the area just a couple of days ago I thought I might give it a try.
As mentioned before in this thread, the place is located on the 4th floor. Very friendly staff, the manager speaks excellent English and greeted my right at the doorstep.
To summarize in short: very positive is that they have a mattress on the floor next to the massage table. having previously recommended the BBS on Eshan Lu (off Pudong Nan Lu), I should report that I just had a disappointing experience there. Went to a BBS with three or four attractive women. Same set up as usual. Back room is warm, clean, and with a bed rather than a filthy couch as in some other BBS.
But the attitude was just terrible. No sense of fun or play at all. Somehow talked me into 200 RMB for a tit fuck and hj. I couldn't be bothered to argue.

The Skyline Sauna has been recommended by a few recent posters, so I decided to check it out. It wasn't too hard to find, near the Holiday Inn Downtown and the train station.

Alice doesn't have the line up, but it still remains my favorite.
Skyline is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are in the Holiday Inn/train station area. But in the future I will probably opt to go elsewhere for my occasional sauna indulgences.
