Enjoyed reading the posts in this group for the last few months. Spent a week in Shanghai (1st week of Oct). Scared the hell out of myself seeing so many people during the festive celebration.

My turn to share, during my short trip, I visited 2 places. (1)Wuyi road, just past the italian embassy and the other (2)near the rail track on Wuyi road in the direction of the Huxi Stadium. Location 1 damage 100RMB, crap, average girls. At location (2) great R&T GF experience with 3 young ladies, damage 150RMB. The second time I visited location (2) it was almost closing time with the young ladies in PJ's ready to hit the sack. They jumped with excitement and dragged me into the little room when the saw me which nearly put me in a coma.

Realise I am not much help with the location as there are many massage places along Wuyi road, even near the railway track. Location 2 is in the corner, it has a stairs that leads up with a black and white revolving spindle like most hair dressers have.

Apology in advance, still finding my way around, will return to Shanghai early next year and share a better post.

On some days a place where ladies from other hotel bars come over after 1 am, if they are in the mood or need for ongoing action. Full of swing sometimes till 3 am, while the rest of Xintiandi is already in a deep and dark sleep.

Oh man.... That is a world of difference! If you say Xing Tiandi in Shanghai, nobody do not know that place! Thought it is a new place.

I agree with you. KTV is fun... as long as you go as a group! I would never go to KTV alone as there are many standard service charges that are mandatory. People don't usually get ripped off at KTV... the problem is they don't know what goes on there.

Usually there is a minimum room fee which depends on the quality of the KTV to the size of the room. Bigger rooms have private restrooms also! The minimum cost of a room is anywhere from 500RMB to 8000RMB. You are expected to spend the minimum on drinks and food. If you don't spend enough, they will charge you the minimum charge! That's normal for any bar in America or Canada if you want a private table. Before you walk into a room, make sure you ask the attendants what the minimum charge is for that room. Always ask for a smaller room if you have less people!!!

When the mamma chick comes to talk to you before she brings the girls, tell her if you want take home service or not (dai zhou = take out). You don't want to play with the girl and find out she doesn't "go out" at the end of the night. Big KTV places would have several hundred girls waiting to please you, so don't choose from the first line up you see. Don't feel embarassed when they come into the room. Look at them carefully and ask them questions like in an interview if you want (if you can speak Chinese). Some things we ask the girls are: "Which area are you from?", "How old r you?", etc. The reason why we do this is so we can guage if the girl is responsive to you or not. If she talks to you like a biyatch, she'll prob treat you like a biyatch. End of the night charge for sitting with you is 200-400RMB and the usual price is 300RMB. Don't pay her the sitting fee if you take her home cause it is included in the price of f**king her. We usually state it in 3 levels as in 3-6-8 (300 for sitting fee, 600 for short term, and 800 for all night). You don't pay the 300 if you are going to do the short term: so you only pay 600 when she leaves your hotel after that one shot.

Each attendant should get 100-200RMB at the end of the night. The mamma chick usually gets around 100-200RMB per girl she has brought to you, but this isn't set in stone as you could prob get away with giving her a couple hundred for the whole group. This also depends if you know her or not.

I hate the attendants in the public restrooms as they always want to give you a massage while you [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). The best thing to do is to go with more people and get the bigger room with the private restroom.

At the end of the night, we usually split the tab and the price of all the attendands and mamma(s). We pay separately for the girls.

Hope this information helps so others don't get "ripped" off when they go to KTV.

A lot of people here have been complaining about ktv rip off and the point of actually spending your money there.

I personally like KTV. But I will only go there with a bunch of friends as experience tells me the more, the better. Usually a party of 4 to 6 is good.

This way you share the cost of the room, drinks and anything else (except girls of cost). You can really have a lot fun with your friends, some booze and some girls. Without take out, the evening will cost you average 500RMB, for 4 or 5 hours of fun, not that bad. Plus a lot of places in Shanghai offer top quality girls and GFE is very good.

Of course some people might say they prefer to spend 200 rmb in a bbs and get a sure laid but I like both experience as it is different.

I think there is or are spy among us, everytime we see a new place or popular place for us mongers posted here, the place will get raided in no time!

I was passing by Dongzhuan bang lu tonight and saw the SW I pick up the other night. The one that wanted to be my GF. Tonight she had her "sister" with her. Hey not bad, although she is a bit older but those parts that suppose to be nice are all there. So I stop my car and she spotted immediately, came over and start scolding me for "locking" her out balh blah blah.

Me and AZN Man meet up and he try to hit the factory at lian hua metro. Reach there about 9:45pm and we walk towards right once out of the station. Thought that the location of the factory is somewhere around there, but then after snooping around for 1 hours with a few drop by on some BBS, we dont seems to find da factory.

In the end, both me n AZ who is quite tired, decided just to return to the carefour branch, to our bad luck, the branch was closed. Again we are so disspointed, so with determination, we walk down the street hoping to hit some other bbs with FS available but to no avail.

By the end of the road, we arrive at Gubei Xi Road, along the walk towards west of Gubei xi road, there is a small road on the right handside, we saw a BBS pole, Alas,its a BBS shop with service provided same as the carefour branch. Gosh the place is clean and they have rooms upstairs.

Althought it was a lot of walking, and I was disappointed that we could not find the factory, I really like this place we stumbled upon. I enjoyed the service very much. This is actually really close to the office I work at. I've stayed at that hotel, it's pretty nice. You are not far by taxi to eshan lu BBS's (20rmb by taxi). There are also a bunch of YMMV BBS's within walking distance. I don't know the streets, but if you come out of the Ramada and are facing away from the hotel, go to your right until you get to a stop light. At the light turn right. Keep walking until you cross a major intersection (2+ lanes for each side of traffic). After you pass this light, at the intersection turn right. This street is full of BBS's. There are also some Saunas around. I've posted one in pudong not too long ago. Good luck.

Its no coincidence they raid the same places you guys post on the msgboard cos 'central china' reads these boards and other chinese sex boards as well. Its a public board, anyone can get access to it...and the chinese arent stupid. Also reporters will read up on these threads and report on it and once that goes out to the public there willl be hell of alot of raids!

What other boards does they dont mention the exact address and names of places unless they have to and will use PMs to the member to get the address instead of posting it up.

Things we have to becareful of..

1. Big Brother watching us
2. Reporters getting information from members posing as memebers
3. Dont post exact address or names
4. Dont trust new member who have 0/little reports and want information
5. Use PM for addresses&names

Hopefully can cut down on the raids.

After a thorough review of the MP's in Shanghai, and though this one had mixed ratings, I finally decided to treat myself to the supposedly best quality one.
First of all the prices have gone up: 988 for full service as opposed to the 900 recently reported here. Then I suppose , as the french would say: there are days with, and there are days without", well, you've guessed right: this was one without.

I think none of us will ever know the process that goes on behind the raids, in regards to when they do it and which ones they target, unless of course you know someone on the inside. Even without this forum, all the BBS and MP are clearly out in the open. With pink/purple lights all over the city, it is pretty difficult not to notice them. However, one thing that they might monitor this board for and end up raiding is because they may want to limit places that have a lot of foreigners frequenting.

I don't know how true is this but I was speaking to a local Shanghai guy who work in some goverment department. He said that the police actually know where are all the activities are. They just do not take any actions until once they either:

1) There had been a few cases of reported ripped off complains from the embassies.
2) Once the populations of the girls in a certain area get too "over flow".

This is because, it take a lot of money to conduct a Raid operations. So it must be a good clean up effort before they can justify for a Raid.

After telling me that, he went one to says in a joking manner that , "Of course there are other money matters like money from the operators....hahaha..." - I did not get the actual meaning of that but made a guess that may be the police are getting money from the operators?

Regardless, IMHO: For the reason of No.1, I think it is a good thing for us because mongers will not get ripped off, But No. 2 if Population is down, that means there are lesser choice and lower competition thus higher price which is BAD!

So boards like ISF may be only indirectly affecting the Raids areas. But definately a passive source for the police.

Guys, Just want to add my perspective to this issue.

There are millions of "ming gong" (peasant migrant worker) working in the inner cities at constuctions and/or hard manual labor jobs. The majority if these workers are away from their families with the exception of occational family member visits and Chinese New Year holiday. Just imagine, how will these frustrated, hard working and lonely men get their sexual relief? The answer is BBSs. The government is well aware of this social problem. If government shuts down these BBSs outlets, sexual crimes will rise in the city. Therefore, unless there has a major crime (like the ones happend couple months ago, when some BBSs girls were murdered) there will be no significant crackdowns on the BBSs. Of course we still get annual May 1st, June 4th, October 1st and Chinese New Year propaganda cracksdowns.

Guys, pay attention to the location of the BBSs. Haven't you noticed that the BBSs are always located near contstruction sites?

Anyways, are you saying that whenever there are new construction sites, BBS will poped up very soon? I did see a lot of BBS that are standlone and no way near any construction sites example like Wu Zhong Lu near ZHong Shan Xi lu. May be they are there for a different purpose?

Just a matter of discussion, because I am curious. Well if I am not curious I would go exploring will I?

It took me awhile to figure out that Yu Ping Sauna that everyone posts about is actually the 3125 Hong Mei Road Sauna. Actually I don't remember seeing any sign that says "Yu Ping", at least in english. There's a huge Chinese neon sign out front though. You can see a golf club nearby. Also when I went, the hotel must not have been operational because I just noticed a building under renovation. Most of the posts are dead on about it being a great place, though. I highly recommend it although my service was maybe not the same as others have posted (e.g. no DFK, no DATY, no choice of girls).

The posts about only paying 650RMB explains what happened to me. The girl said the service was 700RMB and even wrote it down for me, but when I went to pay right before leaving, the guy said it was 650RMB.

The staff at Yu Ping is very nice and professional, but
unless a lot of you mongers speak Chinese, I don't see how you communicate in english at Yu Ping or any other massage establishment in China. I had a difficult time in english and had to speak some Japanese and Chinese to get by. It took me awhile to understand what "cheen-cheen massage" was, hehe, because it's baby talk in Japanese I think. I've been to China a lot and I still have trouble communicating and getting around town.

If you stay at the previously mentioned hotels, then this place is the best but it takes a short taxi ride to get there.

1281 Zhong Shan Xi Road Sauna (sorry can't remember the name - have the brochure somewhere though) -
OK this place is not as good as Yu Ping BUT it's within easy walking distance of the previously mentioned hotels! Just look at a map and it's W-SW of these hotels. There is also a sign on the road advertising the place. You can search previous posts for "Zhong Shan" for better directions.

There's no red belt or gymnastics play, but you do get a private room to rest in. Yu Ping has a big open room unless you get one of the private rooms.

One thing about the price. It was about 680 or something like that but they added another 50-100 for the exfoliation rub down. My first visit, I didn't realize that this was an extra charge since they didn't make it seem optional.
If you don't want to take a taxi, then this is the place for you, but remember the service is less than Yu Ping. Similarly to Yu Ping, there was no choice of girls and no english available. Maybe I need to ask for a lineup in Chinese.

Nanjing dong lu is not far from Bund Center. RTFF and you will find some tips.

But Westin is not too Girl Friendly, you have to register your guest. That is for your own safety.

I took the bus 87 from the Stadium and in 3 minutes, I found myself on Wuzhong Lu with lots of BBS right on the main street. It is not difficult to find. I could see the girls sitting at the front. The environment is much better than most BBS in China. FS cost me 250 RMB. I didn't negotiate, and if I did, it probably would go down to 200.

Mine is a 19 year old from Sichuan, very hot and very tight. This is probably the cheapest in Shanghai.

Yes, there are lot of lazy people ( newbies mostly ) not reading some of the older post. For some, just one previous page their information can be found. For the search engine, I think it's NOT working properly, although I could be wrong.

Well, I think there is a problem with the search engine compared to before the upgrade last year. It's also harder to use. The major problem is it's returning only a FEW results but I know there should be more. Then you have to click on "post" unstead of "thread". This wasn't required before. I found this out after about 3 months playing with it. Next, it's not returning ALL search results for ALL previous years. I even tried using "Find Posts from A Year Ago". Last, there is this "60 second wait" to limit the cpu usage. I understood why at the time because it was running so slow but the problem has been fixed. A few other member have also noticed a recent influx of new members recently. This is surely to cause more newbie questions.

Overall, good thing there is enough repeat post for the new search engine to get something. I don't know if anyone else noticed or Jackson is aware of the problem. If there is a problem, fixing it should help with the PM's and duplicate questions.

I would not go so far as to say BBS do not offer takeout since I do this quite frequently when I have my own accomodations, albeit most of the BBS I patronize are in S. China and E. China, but not Shanghai that often. Having said that, I am a regular of those establishments. Even a ST hotel nearby by with clean sheets and towels is usually better than what the BBS has to offer. I remember one senior member whom I will not mention by name caught a skin disease from a BBS in Shanghai.

1) How do you tell if takeout is available?: Just ask.
2) How much more should you pay?: I usually only pay the taxi fare back to the shop (unless it is walking distance) on top of the standard ST rate, but sometimes the boss will ask for double "tai fei". LT depends on your negotiation skills and time of the day/night. The later, the cheaper.
3) How to change their position?: Tell the boss where you are staying if you trust it. I have even had the mama deliver the girl to my hotel personally just to make sure all is OK. Go to the shop with another regular customer to vouch for you.

Hi,

Checked out Wave Sauna (Hai Lang) at 1281 Zhongshan West Rd yesterday afternoon, which I have just realised is the same place reported on by Zarkoff back in June. Going there all I new was the number, and that it was at the corner of Zhongshan and Wuzhong Lu, so got the taxi driver to drop me off at that corner. First impression was quality not quite at Yu Ping level but picked a talented looking girl from Sichuan.

1) They do have westerner customer that are non-Mandarin speaking. In fact they handle quite a lot of Japanese as well.

Yes you are right, your question are inappropriate.

Particularly that about local agency freeiva.
If you had RTFF, just 8 posts before yours, in same page, you would have read an interesting warning from another member.

I suggest you book a flight to Beijing while in Shanghai. Tickets are easy to get and the typical discount is 20-30% these days. You won't get the discounts unless you go through a local agent in China.

Freevia is as far as I know a dubious way to go for a tour guide. Every so often you will see a new guy with maybe only 1 posting on the forum touting Freevia or some other service who is just that - a tout. I don't suggest going with touts (as others will concur), they are almost 100% bad news. It is next to impossible to distinguish anyone who is truly helpful unless they come from a trusted recommendation such as from seniors on the board with 100's of postings under their belt.

Touting services on this forum as a sales channel is not kosher. First of all it is not allowed as per the rules of the forum, and it is only done by people who want to attract unknowing newbies who make easy targets - also known as suckers!

I last stayed at the Hilton about 6 months ago and it was girl friendly back then. More recently I have stayed at the Equatorial, which is right around the corner from the Hilton, and this place is friendly. Another place which I have stayed in recently is the Rendezvous Merry hotel, which is about 1 km West of the Hilton and Equatorial on Yanan Road. It is a rather nice hotel, often has suites available at regular room prices and is definitely girl friendly. The Concierge in this place got a bit cute with me last time I stayed there. During a 3 day visit I had about 5 girls visit my room and he smiled and winked at me every time I left or arrived (usually with a friend, on the way to/from lunch or dinner). It was a little unnerving but probably a fair sign that they don't care who comes and goes. By the way, when you book your hotel room, always make it for 2 people.

Some time ago I reported on a girl delivered by one of the babasangs that hang around in front of the Sheraton/Renaissance. Sorry about my previous report about Yu Ping sauna. I got confused since the one on Hongmei sounds so similar in terms of service. I found Yu Ping sauna this time I think. I just followed Zunyi Road to the intersection with Yu Ping road and there it was. It's very close to the Sheraton Hongqiao and easily within walking distance. It is next to a hotel.

Compared to the Hongmei sauna and Bilihu sauna which are also near the Sheraton Hongqiao, it is run down inside the massage room. The rest of the sauna is not as fancy too but it's not dirty. The price when you enter is posted on the wall on the right. Basicly 700RMB for everything but I guess others may negotiate this down. After the shower, I was in a large room with all the relaxing chairs watching tv, but only for a short period of time. I think you can stay in the sauna for a long time relaxing and eating but I think they knew I was a hurry for some action.

Even though the massage room is run down, I like it because the lights were very bright and there on large mirrors on the wall to watch the girls technique as she give me the massage. :o)

I was shown 3 girls to choose from, which is nice, although 2 of the 3 were only 5-6 so naturally I picked the 8-9 one. The decision wasn't difficult. The service seemed to last a long time. I have stayed several times at Shanghai Hilton and not had no problem with the hotel staff about brining a girl up to my room. While this hotel is consider five star (or whatever that is), overnight guests, attendees of various functions, guests for restaurants and bars fill the lobby all the time, and it made me feel like staying at a tourist class hotel.

For five star hotels in Puxi area, there are two I would recommend - Ritz Carlton and Westin. I enjoyed stayings with both hotels.

This is interesting, because the general concensus on the board in the past has been that the Hilton is not girl friendly. I haven't tried to bring a girl up there, so I can't confirm one way or another. I stay next door at the Equatorial and never have a problem with bringing in a girl, and the Equatorial is just fine as a hotel.

Here are two things I've noticed about the Hilton. 1) There is very close scrutiny of the front door. I suspect they will keep out the local street walkers, but I can't confirm that. 2) When I visited the Hilton's bar, I did not observe the typical mamasan and ladies that are always present at the bar at the Equatorial. It makes me wonder if the Hilton does work to keep the professionals at bay.

I would be interested in hearing the experiences of others at the Hilton, though for my purposes the Equatorial is perfect.

However in years past, and I'm going back to mid/late '90's when it was first opened, Hilton was considered place to go where you would be 'safe'...in part due to fact that it was owned by Gong An Chu - which means Adm for Public Safety -- in western terms: the law.

Stayed there about a year and a half ago. There is a lobby coffee/bar meeting place. At night you will find quite a few women sitting there eyeing the traffic in the lobby. As I was walking back into the lobby a few women tried to eye me, I finally sat down with two gals in their late twenties.

Their source said that 5-stars Hotels are safe as they had been give warnings and had stepped up their security. Thanks for Dog Day and other brothers' advice. I've finally made my first visit to the Hang Hua Village BBS tonight.

I think this thing about bombing I think is creating a bit of stir up. Let's try not to be too paranoid about this....

Of course if you look for it on GoogleNews, you will find the links to be "empty". Hmm, i wonder why. You are right about the links, because most of them had retracted the news, I think it is mainly due to the fact that they are trying to patch the relationship between China and the the rest of the world. Like what happened in Tong Ren Lu bar last night (read my other posting), makes it no longer fun anymore.... guess the looks on everyone's face when that customer shows up for his shopping bag!

Lots of info on saunas and BBS's, but how about massage places that provide extra services?

I know of two -- big place on Shan Xi Nan lu very near Zhao Jia Bang lu, and a place next to the hot pot restaurant on Chang Shu lu near Chang Le lu (not far from Ju Lu lu). At the first place a good oil massage includes some gentle fondling of the balls and rubbing of the ass (including hole), followed by a 100RMB HJ. Total damage about 300RMB, if I recall correctly. Well, I think the timing of the warning is right for Bush's visit to China. However, I think Beijing is leveraging the situation in Jordan to position themselves in the Sino-US talk. Xinjiang is one of the problem at hand for Hu/Wen administration and this is the Muslim region in China. Such warnings before the US president visit could help build up US support for China's forced crack down in the area as well as paint the other regions trying to go independent such as Tibet as terrorist.

Regal East Asia is within the XuJiaHui Sport Stadium compund, cater mostly to locals. Like most China hotels, you won't find mamasan in the hotel, but you are very likely to get a call in your room asking if you want massage service, with or without extras. Since it is within the stadium complex, you won't find action around the hotel. But it is right at the metro station and walking distance to XuJiaHui.
I have little experience with mamasa, can't help there - there seems to be a lot of ads for "massage" on Shanghai daily, 90% are outcall service, so you can check that out. You can get a copy at most major hotels.
Shanghai has much variety to offer - KTV, bars to bbs. More fun to sample those out in my opinion.

Just a request for information from the experienced Shanghai crew.

2. SW - only a few places: Mouming S Road and now Tong Ren road (near Nanking W Rd) bar have SW outside, sometime outside Julu Rd bars and opposite to Hilton on Hua Shan Rd. Though in my opinion the quality inside is much better.
3. BBS - all ver the city. check this site for recommandations. If you are new to SH and easy to get around, area east of Hilton bewteen Julu Rd, Chong Le Rd, Fu Ming Rd maybe good choice.

I've been to a couple of KTVs with nude dancers. To be honest, I never found it very exciting. I don't know how it works up north, but in the south, they basically have dancing girl(s) who come into your room and dance in front of everybody. The girls I saw were always professional caliber dancers, not like strippers in the US. Maybe if the girls were more playful it would be better, but usually, the whole thing is very sterile. Maybe I wasn't drunk enough.

OK once again following a PM from a fellow member I will have to remind you: no more than 50 for a HJ. Always discuss in advance (better with the laoban than the girl) and if they do not agree to your price, go to the next BBS, there is always 2 or 3 at least in the same street.

I went last friday to a bbs on Maotai rd, close to gubei rd. First time for me there, it was early afternoon, plenty of girls from 4 to 8. laoban was not there, pick up the 8 girl (of course) and went to the back room. First thing I ask if the laoban is there, she answers no. I say its a pity I haven't seen him for long time. She says "you know him" I say yeah of course but I haven't been here for 2 or 3 months.

Either I have not found the action yet or Putuo district is a bit of a relatively dead zone, there are BBS dotted around everywhere though (as per everywhere else in Shanghai).

Tried one with 7-8s on Zhongshan Bei Lu near Lan Gao Lu (opposite a VW dealership), was told at 11.30pm that they were closing at 12pm. Found that slightly odd, suspect not foreigner friendly. There are a couple of others on the main street as well but talent did not look terribly inviting.

Turned on to Lan Gao Lu (which is halfway between Caoyang Lu and Zhenping Lu line 3 stations, on the other side of Zhongshan). Found an interesting looking place less than 50m from the corner next to a legit barbershop. No pink lighting, however did have the black and white rotating light. Brown wooden look. HJ only though.

Keep going another few metres and there is an alleyway with two pink BBS just off the street. Around midnight only a couple of girls there and they looked half asleep. Another two paces along LanGao however and there is another foot massage place, you literally take one step in and one step right. Three girls were watching TV on lounge chairs. Private area not immediately visible so asked what kind of joint it was and was lead into the back area. Everything up to FS available but partitions are only curtains. Went in and the girl at the desk called the manager who came forward and in great English helped me get what I wanted and understand the prices etc. I went for the VIP foot massage at 442 rmb which includes a foot and leg massage and HJ and lasts over 90 mins. Would be no problem for a non Chinese speaker to get this even if English speaking manager was not there. If you look at the price list on the wall behind the reception desk, it is the last item and shows price of 442 rmb. I would think you could just point at it and they would understand.

I took the normal shower, put on pajamas and was led to a small private massage room.

Xiao Jiang (I think), number 706 performed the services. She was not beautiful but what whe lacked in looks she made up for in technique. She massaged my feet and one leg very well for about 45 minutes, then off came the pants and the fun began. I cannot really describe the HJ completely but she stroked with generous amount of oil, played with my balls, fingered my ass and took me right to the edge of release at least a half dozen times before concluding. One of the places is in Chao Yang, not too far away from the Soho buildings, if I remember right it’s called massage king or something like that.

I’ll see if I can get some more specific directions after my next visit.

Greetiings! Reports since returning to Shanghai after about a year:

1) Skyline - I was the first to review and 'discover' this quite some time ago. It has gotten alot of play since then. I'm both happy and sad to report -
a) Still offers basically the same service. Shower, rubdown, sauna, then massage followed by special service.
b) First time I went the service was leisurely and very attentive. The girls also spent alot of time and there was never a skip of beat from moving from room to room.
c) This time I had replay by a provider who I met more than 2yrs ago - so it seems some of the girls stay here a long time. She was still great, but added just too many 'tricks' to her reportoire - thus, not enough time spent on any one of them to really make it effective. I much prefer 5-10min AR followed by 15min FS than 1min catbath, 1 min AR, 2min BJ, 3 min messing with the ribbon and trying to suck, fuck and swing in 5 directions at once, followed by another 2min fucking. Had another stay in Shanghai this week.

First night;

After a drink at my regular stop took a taxi to the Hotel. On Hengshan road there were a lot of SW even before I went for a drink. A real pretty think asked me if I was interested in massage, had to say no at that point.

I just move into a new place on Monday in Chang Shou Lu. I noticed there is a KTV Shui Jing Gong 水晶宫 on the frontage of the apartments. So I decided to check it out at about 11:30pm Tuesday night.

Last week I was in Shangai for only one night.

I tried the Hengshan road, where there are many bars.

Unfortunately, 5 hours is not a lot. If I guess it right, this is probably your first trip to Shanghai.

Pudong Airport is basically in the middle of nowhere. You will need 45-75 mins to get to downtown Shanghai, and about 30-45 mins to downtown Pudong, depends on traffic. The area surrounding the airport is basically farmland. There is a Ramada Hotel near the airport. But I'm never stayed there, so I don't know whether anything is offered and how's the quality. May be other brothers have, and they can comment.

Not sure where you will be coming from and where you are heading. But you might know that domestic flights in China are infamous for their delays. That might actually take away part of your 5 hours. And when you are leaving, you may want to make sure that you will have sufficient time to go through Exit Control (if you are going outside China) or security (if you are flying domestic). In either case, you will likely find long lineup. I was leaving from Shanghai last week, and was stuck in the security line for a good 15-20 mins.

So my personal advice, if you are not really that desparate, you may want to save that for your next trip.

So I'm walking around the neighborhood and I found this kind of half shady/half legit massage shop on Changde Road (near Changpin Road in Jing An). If you're going north on Changde Road, go past Changpin road and it's on your right hand side. Walk in and they have a menu in chinese/japanese. Selected the 240rmb oily massage.

Saw the old post and thought I add a quick update on QQ girls.
The QQ girls had exploded (at least for Shanghai, I haven't checked other cities). By mid-afternoon to late night you'll find lots of them in most of the populates QQ room. Price are pretty consistent: short time from 300-500, typically 400; a few offer greek at 600. Overnight from 700-1000. Masseuse Number 758 (as recommended by brother Hitman2) did not come in on the night I visited the place. You will find Yuping & Skyline managers can handle some English, and defintely plenty of Japanese. I visited a sauna called "di zhong hai" on tianmuxi road and i think it was chang an road. it's near another sauna mentioned on this board quite a bit (skyline?). Overall poor experience. the facilities are nice, but the girl quality was poor. Some posters have said they have been unable to get the English version of QQ working.

Since Chinese is not my native language, I installed the English version of QQ and it seems to work just fine.

There seems to be several places from which you can download the English version. The one I used is at the following link:

Oh, yes, I think I recall now that I did have to do the QQ registration thing in Chinese. Once you are registered, however, the software platform (menus, etc.) are all in English.

I could be wrong, but I think trying to use QQ without knowing a least some Chinese would be really difficult. Seems to me the English version is most appropriate for folks like me whose native language is not Chinese but who can nonetheless read Chinese, albeit at a snail's pace.

If you don't read any Chinese, maybe best to get a friend to help you through the registration process and show you how to get into the chatrooms. After that, perhaps you can find some "candidates" in the chatroom who know a little English.

Went to one of those Chinese chat rooms, and found a massage service, talked to a few of them, they mostly do outcalls. Once you made an appointment the masseuse will come to your place, with all the equipments and all you need to do is pay for the round trip taxi.

However, there was a company that offers in call service, I personally prefer in call, it’s just more convenient for me. When I showed up, I was really surprised how nice the place was. Well furnished, kept nice and clean. Apparently, they rented a couple different rooms in a very nice serviced apartment, and offer the services there. They recommend you take a shower first, which I had no problem with. In the bathroom, nice fresh full size bath towels were given to me.

After the shower, walked out naked, the girl will lead you to a bedroom; in the bedroom, nothing fancy, just a mattress on the floor with disposable bed sheet was already laid out, ready for play.

Laid face down, the lady gave a really nice real massage for about 45 minutes, and then they start to work on your rear end for 10-15 minutes, nice and soft, she pays special attention to the rim area, damn that felt nice. Turn around; repeats the same on your chest. The last 10 – 15 minutes she does what they called a kidney massage, basically is a massage that concentrates on your lower belly and groin area, with a final release by hand. The draw back was the girl does not take their clothes off.

Afterwards, took another hot shower, and headed home.

From what I understand, they have 5 or 6 girls in each location, 3 different locations, one in Jing An, one on Nanjing road by the pedestrian street, and one by the train station (outcall only). The girl I had was from the north, tall long hair and a very nice figure. Total cost 260 RMB, 90 minutes of massage and fun. The girls don’t speak any English, but she told me that the company does have an English speaking phone operator.

I am having same experiences.
In theory visitors are not allowed in rooms after 11 PM, and you find such information in all hotels/serviced apartments, but in practice nobody cares.

I remember that 10-15 years ago, it was advisable to get to the room earlier than 11 PM to spend the night, but now sometimes I get in later and nodody cares either.

However, by reading reports, it seems there are still some places which are not completely girl friendly.

My humble suggestion (from actual experience) is very simple: locate the executive floor where the check-in desk is (usually this is where the executive lounge is), then...ask for a room on any floor but that one based on the fact that that one is too noisy due to the lounge...et voilà. This way you're in the clear as soon as you hit the lifts.
They will be glad to comply.

Although official your hotel contract (the one you sign when you checked in) stated that single occupancy rooms is only for your personal single person usage; They will close an eye if you bring in guest or guests after 10pm. Just as long as you do not make too much noise which causes disturbance to other hotel guest. If your room is a double occupancy room, and if your GF will stay with you for more than a day, they will ask you to register her name with the front desk. If you don;t they will not even bother anyways.

For Five Stars Hotels; it is required for you to register your guest names before you can bring them in after 11pm. This is done more so for security purpose because should any happens to you in your room, it is their responsibilities as your are the Hotel Guest.

I had never came across security asking for the girls name in any hotels (4 stars and below) that I stayed in Shanghai.

Last night I went on Changshou Lu in Jingan district.

At the corner of Wuning Lu, about 100m south, there is a joint called "Paradise Nightclub". At 12:30am some stunning, model like girls have been staying outside, obviously saying "good bye" to some older man with big and dark cars.

Anybody familar with this location?

I was told that Paradise is a high end KTV. The girls working there are dead beautiful! But the price are high. May be I will try it out one day when I can gather a group of 3 or 4s to go. In my experience most Chinese girls are interested (to various levels) in western men, but often they worry about language problems and won't approach, or be nervous that they can't speak English if you approach.

Having an Asian looking guy with you can give the girls the confidence that he can at least help to smooth the conversation. As a westerner if you speak Chinese then you need to make sure the girls that you see know this.

Just my opinion,,,

I've also thought that way before about "communications problems" turns the girls off. But I was quickly corrected after speaking to couples of this pick girls why they do not like westerner. All of them told me that Westerners comes and go. Another reason is that Westerners have too many girlfriends, they don;t feel secure or some even thinks that risk of dieases are higher.

Paradise Club, and the one across called Di Hao opened up in 2004 are both high end (but not the highest) large KTVs. Paradise has 4 floors and up to 800 girls working there at one time when it first open and popular. Typical KTV setup - room charge depend on the size of the room from RMB1000 to 10000, drink girl tip 200, mamasan tip 300+; if u don't take the girl out, the minimum tip for the girl is 300 if u stay for just 1-2 hours and 500 if u start at 8 and stayed till 2am. these tips are going rate protocall, they won't force u but probably snicker if u go much below that.
The typical line up in front of u for u to choose routine. If u plan to take the girl out, best to tell the mamasan u want a girl that will go out, or u may find the one u choose don't. Typical going rate for take out is 1500, but range from 800 to 3000, depend on the girl. The mamasan will discretely inquire u later in the nite if u are satisfied with the girl next to u and if u want to take her out that night. (even if u said u want a take out at the beginning, there is no harm to decline later, be nice, say u r tired, not this girl is boring...). If u reply yes, she'll check the girl for price and tell u. negotiation is acceptable. the girl may stay short time and go home or stay all night, it is YMMV thing.
U can almost always get their phone no, take out or not. some will go out with u later on a date, again, she may or may not go home with u. Paradise is not very strict with the girls and many work there part time, i.e. whenenver they feel like. For the same reason they don't insist u visit them at the KTV in order to see them.

I often check-in to hotels after midnight. I usually walked in with my girl and ask for a room, sometime Motel 168 or JJ Inn. They always ask me how many people and of course I answered one to get the cheaper rate. I have not had once that the clerk ask anything about the girl standing beside me. They just pretend that she does not exist and just hand me the key and we walk into the elevator together. So my fellow monger: don't worry to much.

I've got the KTV bug and on this trip would like to try one that is within reasonable distance to my hotel (I'm staying at the Equatorial). Being a relative newbie to KTVs (I was taken to a high end one last trip and really enjoyed it) I'd like to try it again.

This time I would like to try one that is much nastier than the last - the girls there were beautiful, but fairly tame - other than some petting and flirting, nothing happened.

Any recommendations for places that will get much more down and dirty, won't completely burn a hole in my pocket (though I know a KTV is not a cheap experience) and will have at least a tiny bit of tolerance for a westerner?

I promised to explore the KTV that gave Taiwanese Service in Shanghai and give a report.

Only this time I explore the KTV with a organized visit together with fellow mongers (The United Nations) Mock-A-Bee, Tripper, Ramsey and Santa (who just got in! It was quite a bunch!)

Ok, the KTV was impressive when you enter. As it is Friday night we decided to start early. The line of of waitress at the lobby Entance was great! but unfortunately these girls are not the Hostress.

After entering the room, the manager will bring in lines up of hostress. The choice of English speaking hostress are limited but overall the line ups of Hostress was about 6/10. There a number of cutes one but they do not provide take out service. If you wants take out service and English speaking that narrow down your choice very much.

Most of the service provided by this The difference with this KTV and others is that they will provide a special dance session where the girls will dance topless and do all sorts of actions like "Face wash" you with their bust. etc. Of course normal dance time you can put your hand under their Clothes (They don't wear Bras.) Under theirs panties etc etc. This dance session will last about 15 mins and can be repeated for as many times as you want.

All of us picked our choices. I am sure everyone of us will write about their experience with the Hostress.

My first hostress [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) me off so I kicked her out after 20 mins and picked another from Wun Nan. Small cute girl named Li Na. She said she is 18 but I don't think she is even 18. The night went on for 5 hours. Here is one Rule, if your choice of Hostress does not meet your service expectation, make sure you requrest for a change within the first 10 to 20 minutes. Otherwise, you may have to pay her a Tip and later pay the new Hostress a tip too!

However; I would say it was not a good night at the KTV. Because in the end none of us take out any girls. What annoyed me was that we pick the girls from the lines up and some of this girls said they go out with client. But rejected the offers when we foot the bill. What Pissed me off further is that the Hostress serving Santa, said that She don;t like white person. It is the attitude problem. Another issue that pissed me off is when negotiating for take out. The Girl starts to bring up the price, some said 2000 and some 1500 for LT and refuse to take up any other offers if your price is not what they wanted, they start giving all sort of excuse not to go out with you.

The Damage: The Mid size room that accom. about max 20 persons (including Hostress) is 1680 for the whole night.
Tips for the girls is 400, Waitress 300 for experience and 200 for new hire. That works a total bill of 2,480 For 5 hour with 7 hostress, a bottle of Chivas, 8 cans of Beers, 4 cans of Cola, One fruit plate.

In the end I declared that all of us will not take out. However my girl told me that she is off on Sat (Today) and will call me to meet me later. I not sure about the rest of the guys but I can sense a Freebie coming up.

Overall I think the dance part was good but the evening did not when on too well because of the negotiations for Take outs. In my experience on KTV in Shanghai, I think the rest for the KTV does not provide the Topless dance service. The dance is a standard for Taiwanese KTV. I don't think there is anything wrong with the KTV except that they could had trained their hostress on attitude just like the waitresses attitude was good.

The name of the KTV is "Golden Globe Star Business Club", No. 1265 Song Shan Lu, 3rd floor.

First it was great to hang out with Darkman2, Tripper, Ramsey and Santa. Good group of guys.

About GGSBC KTV, as Darkman2 reported, the place was very nice, plenty of very attractive girls, very impressive KTV. The room was set up in the typical KTV style, comfortable. Though this place has limited English language songs in case you actually want to sing and don't read Chinese.

I agree if you don't like your pick, make sure you ask to switch her as fast as possible. You really only have 10-15 minutes to figure this out. If you fingure out that you don't like her, you should definitely get a new girl or you will be stuck with her for the night.

This is important to remember!

I picked a girl named Yang Wen, who was from Hunan. I decided to pick a girl with English language skills. This turned out to be a big mistake. As it turns out she really only wanted to make money to pay for her visa and trip to Singapore so she can study more english.

I don't recommend her at all. I complained to the manager and he said I could not return her unless it was within the first ten minutes. She was definitely not GFE, she wouldn't let me feel her up, and she didn't want to sing Chinese songs, only english.

WTF? She definitely had an attitude problem. And she was in the line up of girls willing to go home with you.

The manager said if I complained to him again he would fire her. She definitely did not belong in a KTV. I definitely should have complained again and save whoever picks her next the trouble of wasting their time and money.

After the manager had a talk with her she was begging me not to be mad at her - groveling does nothing but [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) me off more, this went on for at least ten minutes. Then during the little topless dance the girls do, she was trying way too hard, grinding her legs into my crotch. She was more like grinding my balls - very poor dance skills. She was definitely not any fun, and I was pretty much pissed at her from that point on.

Btw, one point worth checking before you decide to keep your girl. The girl I had was wearing circles of gauze tape over her nipples. WTF? later in the evening I ripped off of the one on her right nipple and told her to take the left one off. Wearing tape over her nipples should have been grounds for firing her right there on the spot.

Overall, nice decor, lots of girls, decent service from the wait staff, though this place was definitely NOT Taiwanese style. None of us got any of that, and for 400 RMB, you should expect to get something. I dont' think any of us got anything close to that. I don't plan on returning again. I thought it was a waste of time and money.

Anyway, word of advice, choose wisely as best you can.

The KTV was nice and many of the girls were hot. The one I had was sweet and lovely, very much enjoying my gentle attentions. I know how to be affectionate and she was really into it. Now she is sending me text messages and wants to see me again. Lucky Santa.

We had a good party but most of the guys were not so happy with their girls, and when they considered taking the girls home they were not happy with the prices. One girl asking 2000 and another wanted 1500. In the end nobody took a girl home from that ktv.

Eight of us shared the 2400rmb cost of the room and drinks, plus 400 tip for each girl.

That adds up to 700rmb each, times eight guys, thats about $700 US. Damn, that's a lot of money for China!

I think I'll stick to the barbershops and finding my own girls from now on. Of course, there are lot of cheaper ktvs in China where you can get take aways for a reasonable price.

But at least I got a phone number out of it for a gal I like.

The best part though was meeting some very cool guys from this forum. Doing some barbershop hunting tonight.

I arrived in Shanghai last night. I was hoping to hook up with Tripper or Santa or Darkman2, but my hotel link was so bad I couldn't get any pages loaded.

So after unpacking I took a cab to the Manhattan bar on Mao Ming Lu.

It was only about 10:30, but the music was on and the place was loaded with Filipina ladies. This was my first time at this particular bar, but I presume this is normal. They were taking turns dancing on the bar and looking mighty sexy.
