I haven't seen any reports on Kunshan so I thought that I will post one. I stayed at the Winsor Park Hotel. Did a fair amount of hunting, but I didn't find much thta looked promising. I was ready to throw in the towel when I ran accross a BBS like shop with a few girls waiting inside. Had trouble communicating what the asking price was, so finally a girl spoke up and said 100. During the past mth staying here in shanghai (Many many more mths to come) I realize the girls with the age of about 26 and below are very easy going and open (not the impression I had when I was in xian working). Man I, the Shanghai Hotel is right behind the Hilton, so if you can find that, you are walking distance to the S.H. And again, sorry for the misleading info. Looks like you'll be staying in my part of town (I usually stay at the Equatorial, corner of Yan An Lu and Hua Shan Lu, and also on the same block as the Shanghai Hotel [lucky me! :-) ]).

Now that I've looked at my map, I know where your hotel is. You are a long but doable walk to the Shanghai Hotel. Follow Huashan Lu toward Yan An Lu, for about 3 big blocks or so. Turn left on Wulumuqi Lu, and there you'll find it on your right. Might want to take a cab back, you'll be too relaxed to walk.

You are also not too far from Tong Ren Lu, where you'll find a strip of bars, one of which has been designated the ISG "Bat Cave". PM me if you want to meet there sometime.

You are also a short cab ride from Malones American Grill, which hops for some of us older folks (>35 anyway) after 9pm. And in about the same distance you can reach Zapatas (go there on Wednesday night) on Hengshan lu, or the bars on Maoming Lu (the original bars which produced the identical ones on Tong Ren Lu).

If you can't find street walkers in front of your hotel, cab it to the Hilton and search there, or cab it to Tong Ren Lu and you'll find plenty.

Just to add some thoughts in this..

Having my condom break gives me the scariest days after...

Had the Shanghai Hotel 2nd floor experience a couple of days back. Just as advertised, a very nice & clean place and a fun experience. The girl was from Harbin and a bit on the mechanical side, but saw some real stunners waiting when coming out again. Almost went for a second round!

Yes, I tried the search function, but because the Regent is so new it is not located on the map. The address of the hotel is 1116 Yan An West Road. Yan An West Road does appear on the map, but it spans several kilometres and it's unclear where 1116 would be on the map. The hotel website is also not too helpful, as the link to the map is broken.

I skip the first step since you already have the address.
So do a google search on "Yan An Lu 1116 Hotel Map" (google-step1.jpg)
The result will be seen in the picture google-step2.jpg
Click the link of cometoshanghai.com and you will get google-step3.jpg
Then just click the link Hotel Map and you will get the RegentShanghaiMap.jpg
Now I must admit that this map is not very clear. It just gives you a rough idea of the location.
Even after enlarging it I could only work out the street names, because I know them.

So here we go, another google search:

The result can be seen in second-google-search.jpg
It finds a "That's Shanghai" site,
where you get the answer already without further clicking: "1116 Yan'an Xi Lu, by Panyu Lu"

This of course only applies to openly available information like Hotel locations.

The legit defoliating massage in the sauna area is not free. You'll get a small charge added to your bill. For the amount of work the guy does, perhaps it is worth it. You've got to like defoliating massage though, which isn't everyone's cup of cha.

Your time with the girl I *think* is 45 minutes. Whatever the time, in my experience the girls are scrupulous about delivering all the time to you. They won't leave early or they get in trouble.

If you know any rude words in madarin why not try them out if you see him!

I just converted my overseas driving licence today into the Prc driving licence. Took me quite a while to figure out where i was able to do this so i decided to share this info to anyone who is intrested in here.

The address is Qin Chun Lu no:179 3rd door. 沁春路179号3号门.
Documents needed are your passport, overseas driving licence, work permit if any and Visa if any. Did not get the number so anyone who has it please contribute too k haha.

the whole process will take only a day. U are also required to take a theory test which you have to score 90 points and above out of a hundred. Very easy test, i scored 94 points with 6 un-answered questions so i guess i scored full marks. Anyway, its really damn easy k.

The body check up for the driving licence is also done there. Take note, do bring a mandrain speaker along with you so that it would be much easier for you in the process.

Road Intersection = 路口

Hang Xing Lu = 航新路

Get a Map, Follow Tripper's directions to decide where you want to go and pick the Road name above, print it out and show it to the taxi driver.

No, the Hang is 航 as indicated on the my map, not 杭; as what I know because 航空 means Aerospace and those roads are at the other side of the Airport. I do believe the last time I was there; I saw it written as 航东路. Not 杭东路, but by the way: They both sound the same, the Taxi drivers will be able to understand.

She told me to go to HENGSHAN ROAD – she write it down to the taxi driver and it only cost about 20 RMB (or something).

HENGSHAN ROAD have a lot of bars , night clubs, KTV and street girls. You can also have a good time, have some food and drinks.

I pay about 300 RMB and pay + 100 for good service.

Some hotels are writing the name down – it’s ok because the are some security in that. Don’t be afraid to ask to roles about a girlfriend on the room – the reception are use to that.

I've found that the Hengshan lu bars in general can be hit or miss, especially later. Go earlier in the evening and it will be less crowded, but the pros may already be there. Like anywhere, the cute ones will get picked out more quickly. For the Hengshan Lu bars a lot of times the day of the week matters too. Go to Zapatas on a Wednesday night. I'm sure someone knows the best night for Bourbon Street. Go on lady's night, whenever that is.

On Tong Ren Lu, I like Manhattan when I want to check out the filipinas (there are Chinese girls there too of course), and I recommend checking out all three floors of Blue Angel (remember you can say *no* when a girl asks you to buy her a drink)

After I post bath houses inf in shanghai, I got lot PM ask about the location for them in different area. I am soory, I can not remenber the exact address for those. But I tried 48 houses in Shanghai, in which 46 bath houses offer that service. So you just need try them in anywhere you see it. It just cost about 15~27yuan (=$2~3) each time for bath fee. You never lost.

When I post that message just want tell those Sauna fan: why don not try those 200yuan instead of 500~700Yuan, in which you almost get the same service.

I was well warned of the scams on the main shopping street but was almost the victim of another. The only things that prevented god-knows-what was the warnings about the Shanghai street scene and the fact that my brain was in my correct head as I had just laid the hotel beautician an hour earlier.

Coming out of my restaurant on the square opposite the railway station, I was approached by two girls offering sex and massage and waving a full-colour pamphlet of a massage salon. I walked away from them. Five minutes later, a group of four, young, attractive student-type girls did the same thing with the same pamphlet. They offered sex in my hotel room for 300Y. This seemed a good deal and I really liked the looks of one of them so I played along. They said the girl would come to me and I should wait. I wondered why bring a girl from a massage parlour to my hotel? After much telephoning, a young man, a couple of years older appeared. I was told to go to the girl. I followed three of the girls, the fourth stayed behind. We were getting into a really sleazy part of town and I was now convinced that this was a scam. I felt safe because there were so many people around though I’m not sure how many of them would come to my help were it needed. After about 10 mins. I was told to wait on a street corner and they would fetch the girl. Two of them left and I noticed that they were joined by a second young man with a pony tail and the three of them moved off together. I wondered what the scam would be. I presumed I would be asked to pay the 300Y over and the girl would then melt away. However, this was a pretty big operation for just 300Y. After another few minutes, the girl who had stayed behind appeared and said something to the girl who had stayed with me. They moved me to the other side of the road. The second girl left. At this point, I decided to walk. Not briskly but forthrightly. I heard the girl shout and then running footsteps behind me. She implored me to stay but I just kept walking and she just kept following, constantly shouting into her telephone. When I got to the block with my hotel, I could go either left or right. She wanted me to go right, so I went left. I reached the hotel doors just as the others in the gang got there.

Right you are Santa - one semi-pro (700) - the other free, the only "problem" with the freebe was that she did not have condoms, neither did I but after getting to the hotel room I persuaded her to go out (at 4 a.m.!!) and buy some....I tought she was going to leave but 15 min later - there she was with the condoms! Jean You. Try the bars on Tongren Lu. Angels Bar is good. Try Windows at Jingan Temple metro station, cheap and maybe some freebies there.

The bars are not the best places for finding "freebe girlfriends" in China. Girls in western style bars are usually looking for cash. Pubs and bars are not part of the chinese culture.

Non pros often go to discos. Also try coffeeshops, or just try to meet girls while shopping, etc. The key to success is not to be shy, if you like her, say hello.

While the street in Shanghai is basically safe, you did the right thing eventually. Santa's and others advice is do not follow folks to where *they* want to go, instead take the street urchin to your hotel directly. If they don't want to go directly to your hotel, you should smell a rat of one form or another - either they are really a tout (in female disguise) wanting to take you to a KTV, or coffee shop, or massage place, or bar where you will pay too much, or they want to take you somewhere to get mugged, or who knows? In any case, you are unlikely to get in trouble ever taking a single street urchin straight to your hotel. And if she misbehaves once in your room, kick her out, and if necessary, call the hotel manager for assistance. They are generally on your side, they don't want trouble.

Finally, as always, don't pay up front. Agree up front on prices, and pay when the services are satisfactorily delivered.

1) In Shanghai, I stayed at the 3* Zhong Ya (near the railway station). A resident beautician (Xiao Pu, 23 y.o.) and the same story as in Souzhou but now I knew a bit about bargaining, although I’m not very good at it. Sorry for not contributing much in the past week as i was busy moving hm.

Anyway, i have been checking out the area at Pudong Yohan (Ba Bai Ban) do not know if my Han Yu Pin Yin is correct. Do correct me if i am wrong k. Around this area, i found a few places that may intrest you guys here. Other then the massage place i have previously talked about in my previous report, i found 2 KTVS here. one of which is too high class and the other is well suited for most of us here in the forum. The high class KTV is in a hotel near yohan (2min walk), did not get the name of it but there is only one hotel near by so u cant miss it.

The other lower budget KTV is right opposite the yohan building behind the restraunt STEAK PLACE (NOTE: go to yohan and exit through the door where they always have an exibition of BMW cars there.) On the entrance of the KTV (not sure of the name as i am able to read those words) there is a sign saying no people under the lawful age should enter. Hmm....so whats that age limt? does not concern us much does it anyway, from how i see it, with that sign, there must be something intresting going on in there I HOPE.

There is a sign stating the price of the ktv which i found it aceptable.

Should have paid full or less? Here's my opinion, for what it's worth:

It was a takeout, you took her to your room. While it would have been great if she had condoms, you really should keep some available in your room. She offered to do it bare, which while you made the right decision, it isn't like she was refusing you full service.

You could have done a couple of things: 1) gone out for condoms, and finished the deed to your liking, 2) gone bare to get your FS (not what I'd recommend).

So it was *your* decision to change the terms of the agreement, not hers. Thus, you should pay her the agreed price.

I tend to agree - but i have to admit the high class birds can be really a turn on. The whole experience is a kind of formula - looks x skills x attitude = pleasure. Things are still cruising in Changde Lu for the budget concious, or 'bargain-seeking' amongst us. Don't ask me exact locations, although it's usually around the Xikang lu intersection and blocks to the north.

I noticed a pathetic attempt lately to increase the standard HJ price from 50RMB to 60 which was quickly dropped upon the old 'walk-out' bargaining tactic after absconding to the upstairs room.

yes, i agree about the drinks - but in beijing the drinks are rm80-100 each - however i normally only buy 2 drinks max in bejing, while in shanghai i end up buying twice as many. as for the bar girls - the ones i saw on sunday were the old timers, one real cutie has been working at the speedwell chain for over 2 years - but she is very nice. i suspect if they like you the chance of them going back with you may be higher than i originally suspected - must try that next time i am in town.

as for comparisons, well shanghai is more western than beijing & more of a tourist spot than bejing - which means you have to be more careful of being ripped off. on the other hand if you know your way around there its a lot cheaper - however i do worry that some of the low cost options may not be as educated and as such, disease free, as may be the case in beijing - but i have no evidence of this, only a suspicion. there also is far more options, the monger route in beijing is well defined, but limited - in shanghai there are far more options.

but i must admit i have some pet peeves about shanghai bar scene;
1. too many choices - so you end up going to 4-5 bars before you find one which has a reasonable selection - lots of leg work required.
2. supply varies by day of the week too much, friday and saturday evening there are lot of choices - but lots of clients also. on the other hand on sunday and monday its really dead. maoming was a goast town last sunday.
3. lack of russians - while i personally feel if you go to china you should try the local supply - sometimes its nice to get a 180cm russian blond with a full size "extra" in a sack for variety.

on the other hand the good aspects of the bar/ktv scene.
1. good supply of koreans - as long as you don't mind the teeth and speak a few words of korean, they are excellent value.
2. good selection of high-class ktv's, which are a lot cheaper than beijing. jj's is an example, the birds are model quality and as long as you only take-out, the price - while high - is less than equivalent ktv's in beijing, such as diamond age.
3. cheap - getting a screw for rm300 is very rare in beijing - assumming some basic minimum standards.

You are correct,I just called their office and they have stopped regular flights between Shanghai and Manila due to Political pressure from Philippine Airlines,there are only Charter flights between Shanghai and Manila on MU.PAL is the only one with direct flights.If you want I will look further into this charter flights.Regarding the Highway,Its now up to International standards,A investor group fixed it up and raised tolls 400%,Air Asia and Tiger Airways operate out of Clark along with about 3 other carriers.But not MU.Only PAL flies directly from Shanghai to Manila.I will edit previous posts accordingly

I've spoken to a couple of the laobans about why they have higher prices/restrict foreigners (non-asian looking) is usually not because they hate them, but rather the fact that quite a few Chinese mongers (overseas or local), if observing foreigners patronizing their favorite sin-pit will refuse to go again, believing that 'their girls' have been tainted. I know it's messed up and racist, but hey, we're here in China, one of the most bigoted places on earth. And since most BBS's cater to Asians more than foreigners (non-asian looking), they can't afford to alienate their majority clientele.

If you don't look Asian and really want to visit a particular BBS that has this exclusionary policy, I'd suggest going along with a local or at least an asian with decent mandarin skills. If you bring along someone that can speak the dialect (shanghainese, wenzhounese etc...) of the laoban or manager, that'd be even better. If he still gives you flack, have your friend tell the manager that he's entertaining a couple of foreign clients and doesn't want to lose face. negotiate! i've seen it work.

I still don't agree that foreigners are looked up to at all by Chinese. I think they're jealous about the unequal pay rates here in China (fortunately changes are happening to balance this problem), and I also think in general many Chinese are just friendly, easy going people who like to meet people from other places.

So I'm walking around the neighborhood and stumble upon a "male" massage center. Ahh...yes..the place with the bridge in the front. I use to go there a lot but shit, that place costs at least 288rmb (188 + 100 tip) and the room is not as nice as this place near Kangding lu.

Well, i didn't get the prostate massage so I don't know exactly what is done. But she did do some button pushing near that spot between your hole and ur ballz.

After having been using ISG for Thailand, Japan, and Korea, I recently moved to Shanghai, China.

I’ll try to get along with the scene, and report as it comes.

I don’t speak any Chinese yet (not a single word).

Following good advices on this board, and staying near Jing’an temple, I decided to make my first stop at Shanghai hotel sauna and massage.

The location : situated within Shanghai hotel (on 2nd floor).

The hotel is on the same block as the Hilton, with the entrance on Urumqi road (or Wulumuqi, depends on the maps), between central Yanan road (the elevated one) and Huashan road.

I entered this evening at 8.00 PM, turned left in the lobby after the reception, and took the lift to 2nd floor.

An attendant greeted me, led me to the locker room, and gave me a towel. The locker has a magnetic key that you put around your wrist.

Then, directed towards the sauna/shower place. After a shower, I enjoyed a whirlpool hot bath, while looking at the plasma TV over the huge Jacuzzi (around 8 to 10 meter diameter).
