So, first the good experience…
Having enjoyed an occasional frolic in various Shanghai FS saunas, I figured I’d see if Beijing saunas have the same to offer.
The place I tried is on north 3rd Ring Road. It’s on the southeast corner of Madian Qiao (on the south side of 3rd Ring Road, across from IKEA). There’s no English sign for the sauna, but it is next to the Zhengyuan Business and Travel Hotel. If you can read Chinese, the sauna's name is “Jin Yu Quan”. PM me for the phone number, etc. if you want it.
FS is available there, but for a whopping RMB 1,288 (cf. 600-700 in my usual Shanghai saunas). I selected the alternative of RMB 888 for fire & ice, etc. but without the FS.
The first girl they sent in could be a contender at Wrestlemania IV, so I sent her back and requested a slim one. The second girl came in and, instead of the usual massage preamble, she got right to work on Mr. Happy.
The fire & ice was covered, but with saran wrap instead of a condom. Since the whole session was to be 90 minutes, I asked the girl if I could have 2 shots. She said ok. …and now the bad experience.
Although my sauna experience was ok but pricey, my in-hotel experience sucked. I am a complete newbie when it comes to in-house service at a hotel, so maybe I went about it all wrong or have wrong expectations.
I stayed at a 3-star place near Madian, about RMB 300 per night for a single room. I didn’t get any phone call offering massage service, so I went down to the hotel BBS. I asked if they have in-room massage service. The lady there said yes and agreed to send a girl up in a short while.
About a half-hour later the doorbell rang and a somewhat chubby girl in a uniform asked to come in. Turns out she doesn’t work for the hotel BBS. She is a waitress in a restaurant in some other hotel and just does freelance “massage” for extra cash. She said she had taken a taxi over from Xizhimen.
About 5 minutes into a lackadaisical massage, she asked if I wanted extra services. I said maybe. Then she up and quotes me RMB 1,000 tip for “tui xiong”. That basically means she gives me an oily massage with her bare breasts. I told her she must be joking. I countered with ST FS for 300. Then she launched into a litany about how the pricing level in Beijing is much higher than in Shanghai because Beijing is the “capital”. Whatever.
Anyway, after about 20 minutes of crap massage and horseshit discussion about money, I gave up on it. Although she came down to RMB 600, I gave her 2 red maos just to get her the hell out and then went to sleep unsatisfied.
Did I just get unlucky with this one? Or did I handle it wrong? Or are my pricing expectations for in-hotel service in Beijing all wrong?

If you're looking for students, then you need to be in Haidian, and specifically wudaokou. There are tons of universitites there. The first place I would go would be to the BLCU (Beijing Language and Culture University) campus. You can either take the subway to wudaokou (leave the station, cross over the surface rail tracks, and go about 300 meters - the gate is on your left) or tell a taxi to take you to "Beijing Yuyan Daxue" - if you can read/printout characters, this is the school:

I decided to try one of the saunas places. Walked in and led by a door man to a small locker room where I striped myself. Then walked in a opened shower room naked. Frank, all you have to do to find any girls near the Kempinski Hotel is to simply walk outside of your hotel onto the street and they will be pretty obvious.
Go south on the 3rd ring road a few blocks and you will run into the Hard Rock Cafe, a few more blocks and you will find Passions by the Great wall Sheraton. Be forewarned that Passions is wicked expensive.
If you can't find any girls you there must be a crackdown or it is raining.

You have to keep walking away and ignore them all the while they are following you trying to coerce you to visit their girlie bar.
In general, I am very dubious of any tout in Beijing.
As a general warning to all who bother to listen to the touts at San Li Tun - You will be taken to the cleaners! This is pretty much guaranteed unless you can take on several thugs at once. Even if you can, why bother with the mafan?

I must admit not visiting this establishment for the last 18 months, but if you have a lazy 500RM and only want to talk to some pretty young thing – its not bad. I wonder where all the women will be going now – i know when the owner use to put the hard word on a specific unwilling girl, she would frequent Hanks Place until he forgot her – however that is also closed. Here are three saunas in in Chaoyang area of Beijing. All are close by to each other. Start from Zhaolong Hotel, which is on corner of 3rd Ring Rd. East and Gongti Bei Rd, the same road that the Sanlitun Bar Street is on. Continue east from Zhaolong Hotel (the direction of 4th Ring Rd). When you cross 3rd Ring Rd. the road name changes from Gonti Bei Rd to somethng else. Not sure what it is, but continue east and pass over 4th Ring Rd. Past 4th Ring, turn RIGHT at the second traffic light. Then, on the left side of the road, about 100 meters down the road, is a big sauna place. At this place they offer a massage/blow job/breast massage combo for around RMB300-350. Nice clean upscale place. The girls vary month to month. Always best to decline and see the next one if you don't like the one they bring.
The second sauna: from the one just described, continue about 30 meters or so and make the first right turn. Then the sauna is on the right about 50 meters down the road. This place isn't as upscale, but they have FS for 400 and generally a good selection.For RMB600 you also get blow job and extra fake moaning; for 800 add on breast massage and sweet whispers in your ear.
Also, there is a third sauna in this area: from the first sauna described, continue straight ahead (south) on the road, past the intersection, and it's on the right around 100 meters down the road. Santa's assessment is pretty close to my experience. I've had a massage with HJ as cheap as 30RMB inclusive in Shenzhen. 150 RMB is the standard price for FS pretty much China wide; 100 for the girl, 50 for the lao ban. The 50 usually includes the use of a room in an apartment nearby. Some places offer as low as 130 RMB if you do it in the shop. Sometimes you can even get takeout for the same price + taxi fare only. I am not sure if locals can get that much cheaper, but I am certain foreigners are often charged more. 200 RMB and up is not unusual for foreigners. At some places you can negotiate the local price, others stick to their guns on principle. I just walk if I feel they are trying to rip me off. I've been hard pressed to get more than one hour for these prices. LT usually depends on the time of day/night you take them out. The earlier the more expensive, but should not be more than 500-600 RMB, no matter what time. Later can go down to 300-400 RMB.
Beijing is an exception to the above rule. All P4P is more expensive, including BBS. Must have something to do with the lack of competition. The only thing I like to do in Beijing is Mongolian for 500-600 ST since they are harder to find in other Chinese cities. Oh, and I want to try a Russian pro the next time I am in Beijing.

Another report on the replacement for the old Maggies Club, Bar One. Lets start with the positive aspect, this place looks flash and has lots of little nooks and cranny's. It also have 3 private rooms with music, no TV's. There not KTV rooms, but i suspect has a similar objective. A few pool tables, a coffee shop and several bars. It even has a romantic attic room where you can stare at the sky with your favorite bar girl. Like maggies it has a good number of bar girls, several are the same girls who use to work at The Maggies Club. I sometimes wonder what the link is between Maggies and Maggies Club, as back in the old days the girls would swap around. I don't think that is occurring any more. As for the bar girls on the first night I was there i spoke to this quiet young think, who seemed shy and introverted, so my first impression is the bar girls are no-touch only talk variety. On the second night the girl went berzerk and was all over me. So I think its the same set-up as Maggies, if not a bit more aggressive. The quality seems about similar. Now for the take-away's. There were none, no Mongolians, no Russians or even Chinese, but this could be because I left early. The other bad side seems to be a lack of people. However I left both times about 11pm so it may hot up later. Its great for a comfy drink after work, but does not seem to be a good pick-up joint. This could be due to a lack of customers, this needs further investigation.
Side Note: When I arrived on a Saturday night about 9:30pm there were no girls, they quickly appeared by 10pm. I ask my companion what was up and apparently they have a de-brief early each Saturday evening, girls getting complements for good work and comparing notes on the clients. A belated report on a couple of recent trips to The Den, and some miscellaneous ramblings:
Oddly enough both trips to The Den involved meeting up with "semi-pro" couples: two chicks that appear to have normal jobs, both pairs having their own car and riding together. So, I had the opportunity to go to the massage parlor that Me10 recommended. It's located in Wudaokou, down the street about 150 meters south from the McDonald's that is itself about 150 meters west of the Wudaokou light rail train station. There may be some substance to the story but probably over exaggerated.
I was in the Den last March and saw the security roughhandling a couple of chinese guys who were trying to slip in with some foreigners. A shouting match developed and the two Chinese guys were shown the door. Another time a westerner, a German or Austrian I think, was pissed out of his mind and started grabbing some of the waitresses and wanted to table dance. He was pulled down rather roughly and again shown the door. I did not see him come back in again.
I found the Den to be rather cliquish- if an unknown girl comes in and starts trolling a couple of girls will speak to her and they usually leave but if they refused I could see problems happening.

If so i have heard of various places around Beijing Railway Station (BBS, massage, etc), close by, but you will need to go through the posts for more details. For regular supply i would go to Maggies (Mongolians) Hollywood (Russians - caucasians & asians) or you could try street walkers (Chinese) at China World (Starbucks entrance), Wangfujing Mall (North of Wangfujing Station), or The Great Wall Sheraton. However i have noticed a strong police presence around lately, scaring off the lady's, so pickings may be sparse. If i find a take-away service phone number i will send it to you.
Started off at The Pig, and then went to Maggie's last night. Everything seems to be back to normal - Chinese girls getting there early, and then the Russian (a few) and Mongolian (a bunch!) getting there after 9.

Lost count of the number of times I've been to the Den over the years. Peng the owner and manager is relaxed but attentive to what goes on in his establishment. He certainly does not like it when people get out of hand and especially when they start harrassing his waitresses which is only normal and, I hope, expected from a manager.
He is also in a position where many locals are jealous and have been trying to get him out of his premises for years so he has to keep things cool, no need to give anyone more leverage than they already have.
As for the girls on some evenings and especially in the mornings there are more Mongolians there than in Maggies.

They are normally young and good looking. They will approach laowai's and for 300RM will be their companion at the disco. Typically, when girls want a fixed tip, rather than a stream of high cost drinks, they are free lancer's who are available for take-home service - however they can be choosy and may refuse any suggestion if they don't feel like it, or don't like the look of you. I would suggest asking before you buy them a drink and then you can make your decision. While efficient and trustworthy, it can take a while to get your drinks. Also I think the staff are paid a bonus for the number of drinks they sell - resulting in a horde of staff hovering behind you waiting for you to finish your drink - if its not too busy.
* Its noisy and can get very crowded. My suggestion is to head for level 3, good views and not as noisy - however the girls hover around level 2 and close to the entrance - so if that's your bag start on level 1 and move up after you have found a lovely girl to start a deep and meaningful relationship with.
Question – Every time i go to this place i notice a stream of people disappearing down a corridor on the level 2 balcony furthest from the entrance. I never see many people come back – does anyone know what may lay there. I originally thought toilets, but now i am not so certain – could it be private rooms?

However when I visited Passions, the girls I saw are model types, tall. slim, and attractive. A lot of them are not deadfish in bed, but anxious to please. That's why they charge such a price. Of course there's no exception that some just overcharge.

The worm made another visit to Oriental Palace yesterday. This is the sauna located across the third ring road from China World, on the left up the first alley from the big Penis shaped building. I was surprised when I entered to find the Sauna was closed - apparently under renovation.

ThanksThe topic of how much you should pay for a specific service could fill several pages, so I will not discuss the philosophy of the topic and will just focus on the empirical evidence I have.
As Passions has been closed for the last 3+ months, any pricing discussion needs to take that into consideration. The so-called standard rate use to be US$500 for all night and all the girls will try to start at this price range. For very attractive women they may ask for US$600, I have never seen anyone ask for US$700.
Based on my intensive study the pricing will vary based on the supply and demand principal.
1.If you walk into that establishment at midnight and you are immediately mobbed by a number of women, all demanding you must select someone quickly, you know the supply has exceeded the demand – in these situation the prices i have obtained for a 1-2 hour session has ranged from RM800 to RM1200, based on the quality of the girl. The charges for a all-night session is typically about RM2500 – all this requires a great deal of negotiation.
2. If you walk in that establishment and no-one even looks your way, then the demand has exceeded the supply – i normally walk out and look elsewhere. When i have stuck around i have managed to get a 1-2 hour session for RM2500 with someone who is average by Passions Standards. I have never negotiated less than US$500 for all night – which is basically not very good value. You can do it once, but typically you never do it twice. As i have earlier said, you can get a drop dead gorgeous Russian bird at Hollywood's for RM800 for 1-2 hours and RM2000 all night, with NO NEGOCIATION, so why bother with a Chinese bird with above average looks and English skills.
Another factors is what you look like, if you walk in wearing a suit, its assumed you have money and the price will go up. If you look like a bum, then prices will be less – but then any attention will be less also. Its also possible to negotiate really hard and get lower prices, this only works with the ugly (by passions standards) birds, as the good looking ones simply walk away.
As for Diamond Age, i got the impression business was really bad. (Actually last week's business was bad everywhere i went, especially last weekend – could be due to the US holidays? This was good for me.) In this environment i got the impression the women at Diamond Age were desperate – far more desperate that i have ever witnessed at Passions. So go on a quiet evening, not too early, and try you luck at the “How cheap will they go” game.
Just note, this discussions is only about Passion and Diamond Age women – all these prices are outrageous outside these two establishments.

They probably cost some 200 yuan an hour for up to four hours (i.e. no extra cost if you stay for more than four hours). It was very quiet when I got there at about 5pm.
I asked for a young girl and was given a 22 year old from Shandong named Dong Lingling. She’s very pretty and sweet, with a slim body and a pair of small tits. She was very pleasant to talk to, but unfortunately she would not offer full service, just hand relief. She said that the establishment would not allow full service, and that there had been police crackdowns recently (although she admitted that police had never searched that place). Actually, story about the Den absolutely true - I saw it with my own eyes. Obviously it is not the owner beating up anyone, but the doorman and his goons. And since there is an ownership connection between the Den and Vics, it stands to reason that Vics story is also true. Also stands to reason that any bar owner in Beijing has good guangxi with local cops that can work to limit actions against him.

To get FS at Times nightclub, you just ask for one of the girls from the Nigthclub/KTV side and they will send them over to the sauna private rooms. Personally I think it is better to first go over to the nightclub side, ask for a/your mamasan and then proceed directly to the room with the glass window where all of the grils wait to be called into a KTV room and then make your choice. You can then proceed to a private ktv room, back to the huge main room with all the nightclub acts or to the sauna, massage and private room. You can arrange for your girl to join you in the private maasge room after your massage, or just skip the massage. The mamasn told us if we wanted to stay overnight, (but we never did) it was an extra charge of about RMB400. The rooms really are 5 star hotel quality with attached private bathrooms.
Been a while since we did the drill at Times so don't remember the prices (but I should since we spent 4 nights in a row there!), but as you said, the price is not cheap. Overall an excellent quality mongering experience for those willing to drop the cash! This place is 5 star quality all the way with 5 star prices - but still less than the old Passion girls.

The Sheraton parking area seemed the worst hit, but China world is quiet, and I have heard that at various times the Pig at Lido has been quiet. However I think its a wave thing, so some nights quiet, quickly recovering when the heat is off. I don't know the reason, but back in the bad old days (only 2-3 years ago) you would get these type of crack down's due to some political conference, or internation event, or something where the presence of street walkers would be considered an embarressment, in which case your only course of action was to go mongolian or russian. I hope those days are not coming back, it would be a bummer.
Actually over 3 years ago it was rare to be propositioned on the street, only in the dead of winter with almost no-one on the street would you get an occassional proposition by some desperate woman, especially around the China World Hotel and Sheraton.
The owner of Passion, Qin Hui, was put under house arrest for a short time after the Spring Festival Holidays - related to the CCB scandals, but now he's out and OK. Passion will re-open - it's such a cash machine.
There has been some talk about the security guards in the DEN, I have no idea about these incidents, but would like to remind everybody that several years ago a Russian man was injured so severly in Minders that he died (and Minders bizness did the same), so I guess the idea of rough security guards in that idea is not a new one.
I have found that Den is one of the places where you can often see fights (Chinese idiots showing off or drunk foreign idiots) and it doesn't suprise me that the guards there need to deal with it. A Ukrainian guy (17 years old) was put in hospital when he was stabbed by waiters from the Bus Bar a few years ago, so anything can happen, in that case the Police were thinking about charging the stabbed guy with messing up the bar because the bar owner was well connected.

What I can't understand is why people are so freakin amazed that bouncers would beat up somebody - it happens at a lot of places in beijing, it happens in every big city. I just use common sense: if someone is all liquored up, and for whatever reason gets in the bouncer/security team's face - he/she is asking to get their butt whupped. If my friends are getting out of hand, I get them out of the bar/nightclub.

Many small hotels have half day or short stay rates which are not advertized. Check some 1 or 2 star places. Another option are motels, which are also very cheap.
Another option is just check in, do your deed, then check out. You wouldn't be the first person to do it.

In fact, about 3 months ago, I had to check into the JingGuang hotel as i had someone staying in my second bedroom at the apt. I checked in at 7pm, checked out at 9pm and told the front desk that a friend called and said that I could stay at their apartment for the night so i didn't need the room.
The staff at the JingGuang didn't charge me at all. So, two hours, one great fuck, and free short time room at the JingGuang. Priceless.

Beware of a new scam at the international airport, which seems to have coincided with the introduction of the new customs declaration forms (itself a real pain in the ass). Seems lao wai are being targeted.
Went inside the very 1st doorway for international departures last Saturday. Was met by a young lady who told me there was a new tax, plus the customs form. Took me up the elevator to the 3rd level, and handed me the customs form and immigration departure card. I can live with that as well.

She also said she was mistaken because it was her first day. Maybe it was - and maybe I DID fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Was this a scam to increase my bill that I stupidly fell for, or was it because I ended up bonking both girls?
3. Was there any way to negotiate the final damage at the counter as I checked out or had the fat lady sung at that point?
4. Could I have just asked to have the massage in the same room? Upstairs there were about 40 massage chairs, with only a couple of customers in them, so it screamed "slow nite" to me, but maybe noone takes the free massages and all the rooms WERE full.
Any help for a relative newbie is appreciated.
P.S. How much do you normally tip the locker boys? I tipped 50 and I am not sure I got much of a return, other than having my butt dried for me by one of them, which I honestly could have lived without.

I suspect Worm is a better person to answer your question as I haven't visited the Oriental Palace for about half a year now. He recently mentioned that the two VIP rooms downstairs were no longer available as a result of tighter police inspection generally in Beijing recently.
To answer you first question, it looks to me the room that you got should have cost no more than 1,250 yuan -- the price that Worm paid for. My understanding is that for 1,560 yuan you get to use a VIP suite (which comes with sofa, TV set, shower, toilet and sauna facilities) for two hours, inclusive of full service by a girl. I have always used the VIP suites so I don't know whether there are several price levels for the lesser equipped rooms.
2). Difficult to say if she genuinely got mixed up or what. But if you have done both girls, of course you pay for two. Full service by a girl is supposed to cost 700 yuan. On two occassions I had enjoyed the service of two girls in the VIP suite and both times it cost me 2,260 yuan, being 1,560+700. Theoretically you can come twice, once with each girl, though I've only managed to come once after screwing both. It was natural that the second girl was eager to get you to bonk her, cos otherwise she would only get 300-400 yuan rather than 700.
3). I'm sure you could have negotiated for the right price but given the language barrier you might not have succeeded. Should you ever return (or set foot in any similar establishments), get them to clarify the different charges for different types of rooms and identify the girl's charge. That should avoid any subsequent confusion.
4). I believe you could have got the massage in the same room.
I sympathise with your experience because I have had a great time at Oriental Palace twice. I do look forward to Worm's contribution.

Well guys, I have put off the new Maggie's review long enough. I have only been once, this last Monday night. I decided to pass on the first weekend as I am sure it was a madhouse. I plan to go again tonight to get a feel for the new Maggie's on the weekend. Will start out at the Pig, then probably head over to Maggie's around 11. I know, it is early, but I want to watch things develop. If anyone would like to join me send me a PM.
Now for the review:
The bar is located on the right had side of the south gate to Ritan Park. If you were to go past the old Maggie's heading south you would then turn left (west) on the 2nd major intersection, which is GuangHuaLu. When I went I told the taxi driver "Maggie's" and he already knew that it had moved.
You enter a courtyard area heading east, and the building is on your left hand side, so you enter the main door near the middle of the building facing north. They are still selling hot dogs out side, and there is a couple of sitting areas out side as well. Should be nice once the weather turns cool.
Upon entering you will see that is is much nicer than the old place, and about 3 times the size. It is long and narrow, running from east to west. From the front door if you look left (west) you will see a sitting area, and if you look right you will see the bar area. Lets go all the way to the west and start from there.
At the far west end of the building is the coat check and a bathroom. Heading east you then encounter a nice sitting area. Small tables with chairs. Might be a good place to sit and check out the action. I know Intransit will like it because it provides a good view of the front door and coat check, which every girl heads to first to check their purse. It makes it easy to check the girls in as they arrive, and check them out as they leave.
After the west sitting area is the front door again, and then the bar area. It take up about 1/2 of the building space, in the center of the building. The bar occupies the middle of the south wall, and I would say that it is almost too big. Lots of places to sit at the bar, but the bar back area is huge. I guess the old staff got tried of running into each other and asked for a bigger space, and they got it! I can see that the passage way from east to west in front of the bar will probably get congested when there are a lot of people there.
Past the bar is the DJ booth, and the entrance to the dance floor. The DJ area is much nicer, and has all of the bells and whistles a DJ would want. You still can go up to them and request songs without a problem.
The dance floor is on the south side of the building, and right across from it is an elevated pool table area. Same routine - a white board where you write your name if you want the next game. Not as many girls playing pool this time, but it was a Monday. I am sure all of the pool players will be back soon.
Moving past the dance floor and pool table is another sitting area. A couple of tables right on the dance floor, and then some booths that look like they could be very intimate. Might have to give that a try. At the far east end of the building is another bathroom.
So, from east to west it goes: Bathroom and Coat Check, Sitting area, front door, bar area, pool table and dance floor, sitting area, and bathroom again. At the old place the bar was in the middle of the building, so you could kind of "do a loop" around the bar to check out the action. Not in this place. The only route is from east to west and back again. The night I was there a "Hottie Corner" had not yet been established. The girls all just kind of wandered around trying to find the right place to stand.
All of the same players were present - same security guards, bar tenders, DJ's, bathroom attendants, and Chinese girls who work for the bar. I did notice that the Chinese girls seemed to be out in the crowed a lot more - I remember in the past on slow nights they would just sit behind the bar and talk to each other. Perhaps someone pointed out there was more money to be made if they did not sit behind the bar.

With the transformation of Henry J Beam into a HSBC branch, which i can assure you does not offer the same supply of willing young things as the older establishment, what is the randy, but lazy laowai inhabitant of the China World or Traders Hotel to do. (For US citizens randy = horny) While there are a host of establishments a short distance away, if for some reason you are unwilling to leave the confines of the China World complex there are still places to go to resolve any issues in the stiffy department. This can be something of an issue in winter.
1. Perhaps the first place is the notorious StarBucks in the China World Complex. This has long been place where you can obtain women to go to your room and since the closure of Henry J Beams this is even more the case. The only issue is the hotel staff take a dim view of this type of activity, so often you may turn up and find nothing is available – so beware. However, typically there is at least one moma-san hovering just outside starbucks, the most common one is called Anne – who has been doing this type of work for at least 3 years. While i have never actually given her any business, i have been approached by her so many times she knows me by sight and i think she has taken on a personal challenge of getting me to take one of her home-delivery girls, much to my annoyance. However enough of my personal issues, she can offer a range of about 3-5 girls. During winter they sit in a car somewhere very close, in summer they may be wandering around, or may be even having a coffee. They typically don't speak English, although there are a few exceptions. The only issue with this is if you require some elaborate service, like the Cossack and peasant girl or the lost school girl in Harlem service, you may have serious difficulty communicating this. But for standard activity there will be no issue. The price seems to be about 800RM, but i am sure this can be negotiated, although be warned, its normally the girl who bears the bulk of any discount. You can sometimes be shown the girls so you can chose one, this typically occurs when business is slow, otherwise you may only be offered what is available close by. You can accompany the girl to your room in China World, Traders and the Kerry Centre – or you can arrange for them to come to your room at a pre-arranged time. Anne will give you her contact details, so if you don't even want to go down to starbucks you can ring home-delivery. I am unsure if she provides service to any hotels further away, but as business in winter is normally slow i think this can be arranged during these slow times. You will normally find anne, or some girls, around starbucks after 9:30pm and by 10:00pm their business is in full swing. I have seen her their at late as 2am, so the time-availability is good – although when the police crack down on this business she will not be around. This occurred about 2 weeks ago. Location : Ground level, the north exit of the China World Complex, across the road from the old Henry J Beams, but now a HSBC branch.
2. The next place to consider is Aria. This is the fancy bar in the China World hotel. Very late in the evening you may find some very well dressed friendly women who may be willing to provide a wide range of services. The only issue is the lady's are typically only available rather late, normally close to closing time. The other issue is that supply will vary, some evening you will find no-one, others you will find 2-4 women, so its not a good regular supply point. I feel this is because the bar staff take a dim view of this activity and give the girls a hard time, so only when the women feel there is a high probability of business will they even go to Aria's. They all speak English, are normally a bit older but more glamorous and the price varies a great deal based on supply and demand and the lateness. Location : Lobby of the China World Hotel.
3. A more regular supply point is the benches outside “Baskin 31 Robbins” ice cream parlor in the China World Shopping Complex – a veritable black hole of Calcutta. You will often find several girls sitting on the benches staring at every laowai they spot. If you make eye contact you will be left in no doubt that these lady's can provide you with want you wish. They will be found in this location from 7:30pm up to about 10:00pm, which is when the shopping complex closes. They will speak some English, are normally not that attractive and typically ask for 800RM-1000RM. Location : China World shopping complex, close to the rear entrance of the Traders Hotel.
4. The China World Lobby Coffee Shop. I have often been told you may find women in the lobby of the china world, however after looking for the last few months i have never spotted any likely targets – however this does not mean they don't exist, just that i have not worked out how to spot them. I suspect they are similar to the lady's who frequent Aria's, but i am only guessing.
5. Outside on the pavement – The pavement between starbucks and the north entrance of the china world shopping complex will often have several girl's plying their business. They are typically free-lancers, are not that attractive but do speak English. Their availability varies a great deal, i have been approached at 5pm in summer some times and other times will see no-one there at a more reasonable 10pm. I suspect these are the overflow's from the other monger spots around the China World.
So if you are staying at the china world hotel, Traders or even the Kerry Centre, there is a good supply of lady's available if you don't feel like getting into a taxi or crossing the main roads around the hotel.

No experience of this set up as yet but I'm in Beijing next weekend so will give them a call. Likely they are just another set up arranging things for mongers who are just as capable of doing it for themselves - and for less cost! They seem to be profilerating at the moment. Another one appeared last week - "Charlie" and when I asked for something specific ran a mile and said I should walk around in front of Beijing HRC. A sif I needed tuition in that!
Went to the new location last night. Here's my report :
From a technical standpopint, the bar is very, very nice. A superb and well balanced sound system throughout the whole room. Several very posh and comfortable couch/lounge areas by the entrance, back by the pool table, and on the far side of the sunken dance floor. The bar itself is long and concaved, with a suspended ribbon bar of light above that can go from a pinkish sort of hue to a reddish-orange. There is a very strong feeling of openess about the place - very much a loft/ski lodge/apre ski feel: large beamed ceilings and a very well done ventilation system. For those of you who do not care for smoke, you will be happy; it's got the cleanest and freshest air of any bar or club I have been to in Beijing, and is probably as good as any I have been to in any bar anywhere. Overall, the decorations are very classy, but unfortunately, that is about all I can say good about the place. It feels a lot more like a typical club in Beijing now tho, and that's not a good thing. It's got elements that you would see in any one of the trendy joints in town now. Some people will really like it, some people will really hate it.
Now here is where my review goes downhill. It's a lot more brightly lit, and in my opinion, that also is not a good thing. I think a lot of punters will feel a tad awkward at this brighter and more open feel - some guys want to pick up their girls anonymously or discreetly, and now it's harder to do that. You still can, but not as easily. One of the great things about the old place was it's sort of decadent/sinful/naughty vibe. Now the vibe could have come from the folks at Disney. It's a lot more wholesome feeling now, and well, I hate to use this word, but it's more "upscale". It's a ton bigger now, and there were a LOT of non-mongers there last night. I am a bit afraid that Maggies will now become the "in" place for many of the club scene in Beijing. The room has that kind of feel. Take out the pay for play girls, and this bar could be in Houhai or Chaoyang Park as just another new bar. Every time I was talking to some hot thing that I wanted to stuff with my package, I would look around and see a few folks just staring at me : "hey look, there's an expat picking up one of those mongolian prostitutes !".
Again, some will love it, some will hate it. Part of what I love about Beijing is it's rough edges and dirt and grime - like a frontier town in the gold rush days. That funkiness also worked in the old Maggies. Now, it's a nice club in a nice location, and it's the kind of place you could take your friends and colleagues and actually consider putting on a nicer shirt and pair of pants before you came for. From a business standpoint, I can understand this transformation - it holds a lot more people, and in order to fill the place they had to make it more palatable to a wider group of visitors. The concept will work I am 100% sure ( there were loads of hotties there), but it will take a few months before the awkward/uncomfortable vibe that I sensed strongly the moment I walked in goes away. Everyone was just a little too uptight. I don't plan on returning very often, if at all. I suppose I'll try it again after a few months of settling in, but to me, the appeal of Maggies is gone.

I went there yesterday evening and the place was quite full with a lot of girls. However, the number of hotties was limited. Still, I love the new place because it is much brighter than the old one and you can actually see what you get into before starting negotiations. Well done by Maggie's owner.

Drive south along GongtiDong Lu and just past Ritanbe Lu, turn right into GuangHua Lu - it will be on your right about 1km from the turn and where Jianhua Lu joins GuangHua Lu. If you want to go to Hollywood Disco you turn right into Ritanbe Lu.

I finally got a chance to go to babyface to see what type of establishment this was and here is my report.
1. The first area to cover is location. Its on Gongti Xi Lu, No6. Some maps have this street named as Gongrentiyuchangxi Lu, but for those who know the old maggies, its the road parallel to Gongti Dong Lu (or Gongrentiyuchangdong Lu) on the other side of the workers stadium. (East Side). Its about half way between Gongti Bei Lu (or Gongrentiyuchangbei Lu) (North) and Gongti Nan Lu (or Gongrentiyuchangnan Lu) (South). This originally confused me as different maps had different names for the same streets, i am not sure why this is the case, perhaps they simplified the names on some of the maps and not on others. Its in the same block as the worker stadium (left if you are traveling south and right if you are traveling north) and as long as you keep your eye out, you can't miss the sign. There are lots of lights and lots of good looking women hovering outside the disco.
2. The second topic is entry cost. I went on a Saturday evening about 10pm and paid 100RMB to enter – i did not get the impression you got any form of drink for this, although there were girls handing out free whiskey as you entered. If i am correct then this makes it rather expensive. I would hope the cost was less on weekdays. This originally threw me as BabyFace in shanghai had no entry fee for laowai's, while all paid an entry fee in the Beijing version. Later i think i understood why.
3. The next topic is layout and décor, for those who know babyface in shanghai you will feel like its the same establishment – it was actually rather strange, as i really had to ask myself exactly which city i was in. The layout was almost identical. A large square bar at the entry end of the disco, surrounded by chairs. Next came a dance floor, DJ and some tables with bar stools. At the back you had a mass of high tables and bar stools. Most of the tables had waiters hovering around. Surrounding this area were private room, separated by translucent dividers and with the front open to the dance floor. This extended to the 2nd floor. It was all rather flash. As for the music, it was definitely contemporary disco – not an issue for me, but like babyface in shanghai it was very loud. The way you purchased drinks was typical for Beijing disco's, give you order and money to a waiter and wait.
4. The final topic is girls, while in shanghai you will typically get approached by English speaking girls, i got the impression that was not the case in Beijing. It was very Chinese and i was the only laowai in the establishment – i only stayed for an hour, so perhaps close to midnight the situation changed, but i kind of doubt it. On the other hand there were lots of good looking girls around, so if you speak mandarin and are Chinese i think you could find some accommodating young thing.
So my summary, good legit disco which could offer some interesting non-legit services to mandarin speaking Chinese, however with a rather expensive entry fee. If on the other hand you are in Beijing with laowai girls or moral guys, this would be a good place to show them how modern and decent Beijing was.

I have completed my intensive study of Hollywood disco and here is my brief report. As the topic of location, girl type and costs have all be previously covered, my primary focus was the supply and demand situation over a 12 month period. This will allow me to determine the best times to go to Hollywood to get the best result.
1. The first observation i made rather surprised me. I assumed that during the normal slow season (middle of winter – January / February) it would be the best time to go to Hollywood to get a quality girl for a reasonable time frame. I was totally wrong. Based on my observations the number of punters always seemed constant, whether it was a Sunday or Monday or whether it was winter or summer. Thus the Demand never varied much between day or season. I am sure there must be exceptions, such as a much higher demand during Communist Party Conventions and a lower demand during Chinese new year – but these are all very short duration fluctuations. On the other hand the Supply did vary a great deal, based on season. During winter the number of girls were definitely less, while during summer there were many more Russian girls available. There seemed minimal variance based on the day, which was expected, but a lot of variance based on season. Thus, based on this observation the best time was actually during the tourist peak time, basically summer and parts of autumn and spring. A proof point which confirms this is the number of Russians who frequent maggies – I rarely see any in winter but there are always some during summer, indicating an excess of supply at Hollywood's.
2. The next observation was the bulk of the punters were Chinese. I could not tell if they were HK, Taiwan, Singapore Chinese or PRC Chinese, but i got the impression there were a lot of Chinese from HK, Singapore and Taiwan hanging around based on the high quality of clothing. If they were local, they were definitely from the upper class in this classless society. You would always find 1-2 laowai's in this establishment, but rarely more than that.
3. Quality of girls were definitely better in summer. While during winter i saw a lot of really hot babes, i only ever saw 1-2 model quality girls, and these were in constant demand. During summer i saw a lot of drop deal gorgeous model type Russians, which if you use any rating system would be Max+1. Slim, tall, well proportioned breasts and an excellent rear chassis with a model like face and long beautiful light brown or blond hair. The really strange thing was the Chinese guys did not seem to go for them, either they were too tall, body was too Chinese-like (slim) or the breasts were not large enough, or the ideal western model face was not attractive to them – I have no idea, but when i was Hollywood recently for about 2 hours, 3 model-types I observed never got any business – yet a number of rather plum, big breasted blond Russians got 3 jobs in the same time frame. The model types seemed to hang around me for most of the night, which was strange for Hollywood's, as the Russian girls normally avoided laowai's, preferring to focus on the Chinese men. (I asked one Russian girl why this was so and she gave many reasons, the most important was the Chinese guys were quicker so they could get more repeat business, the second was there was a high probability of getting a regular Chinese john for a week, while western guys never asked them out again – i have no idea if this is correct, but something to ponder.)
4. Frequency. One thing i don't like about laowai girls is the whole mentality is different, its all about RM/hr, so while they charge a reasonable amount, they expect to take the shortest time possible to finish. The only way to avoid the “wham-bang-thank you mame” situation was to take a long stay, which was about RM2000. During winter i saw the best looking women take from 20-30min from the time they left with a customer to the time they came back. I assume they went next door to do the deed, but even so, a bit too short for me. The times i took them to my hotel, the topic of how far away my hotel was came up a lot, however they stuck around until you came which i made sure took as long as possible. Some times they got annoyed, sometimes they did not care – but as soon as you were in the room they got ready quickly – did what they could to finish their customer off quickly – and then cleaned up and left quickly. On the other hand during summer while some good looking women had the same frequency of business (3 x 30min jobs per 2 hours), these were the girls with the biggest tits – which is not my thing, the model-types did not seem to get a lot of business. I tried to wait until one of my 3 gorgeous model-types got a john so i could time how long it took, but in 2 hours they never got any business. God I was tempted, but i was meeting a Chinese honey at midnight so did not have the time. (The other reason is my wife has the same model qualities, and for my sanity I tend to avoid women who remind me of my wife.)
So in summary, Hollywood is must better in summer than winter. Better looking women who get business at a reduced frequency allowing you the chance of getting more than a 30min quickie. I was surprised at my findings, but will adjust my activities accordingly. Chinese when its cold, Russian when its Hot – and Mongolian when its just right.

I kind of understand your comments - i would suggest that you may need to give it a bit of time to settle down. I also found the music a bit too loud and it was hard to get a good feel of the available talent by sitting in any single location. I also heard the girls will be charged RM30, which include a drink. This may reduce the number of mongolians, but as the normal russian hang-out changes RM30 with no drinks it should not affect the russians. I am sure the owners will modify the facilities to suit their long time customers. In the meantime try Hollywoods - if you want dark, decadent, sinful, naughty vibes - Hollywood has it in spades. Its so grotty, dirty and dark it actually annoys me. I was actually quiet shocked to see a picture of the crew of the starship enterprise on one wall - the only thing which seemed to be vagually related to hollywood. I wonder why they even call it Hollywood - they should call it the "Kazistan Pussy", or pehaps the "Vladivostok Jockey Club", or perhaps "McMosow Take-away".
I am a bit amused by the complaints about people bringing their wives into maggies. No expat who has a real job, or a reputation should order mongolian takeout. The reason is obvious. Maggies is a great place to entertain. I often take out of town visitors their, often with my wife and theirs. They like to see the seedy side of beijing and that is the place. So, pick up and enjoy the evening, while you liven up dinner conversations all over Beijing. This place is so small that everyone knows everything, trust me, I have been there.
My wife loves to tell the story about how some drunken expat came up to her in maggies and asked how much for anal?
If you have been here a month and have not found better quality that may be purchased more discretely, you have not been reading the postings or need to talk to more people.
My biggest fear about the new Maggies is it is too much "in the face" of the embassy crowds. Obviously, Maggies has great guang xi, but will it be enough
to fend off an angry Ambassador's Wive's Club?
So, my advice is, if you are a tourist, please come and enjoy Maggies, and enjoy the takeout. If you live here, show some class.

SammyI just wish to congratulate you on an excellent review - i was able to immediatly locate the bathroom the first time i went into the new maggies (after drinking many beers at Hard Rock Cafe, BabyFace and HollyWood disco) It actualy got me into trouble with my regular chinese bar girl companion - who refused to believe this was the first time i have gone to the new maggies - and thus who was i talking to the time i went in without letting her know i was in town. Keep up the good exchange of information work.

WormWhile not exactly agreeing with Worm on this statement, his last posting is right on. Maggies is actually rather public - but then no reason why you can't tastefully take mongolian take-away. As for me I have convinced all the chinese bar girls I never do this type of stuff - so they always complement me on my moral upstanding nature. (you never know, I may one day strike lucky with them) I normally use maggies as a method to avoid the mind-numbing bordom of travel. There are lots of meat-market facilities which I use to satisfy my less than moral side.

While not an extensive review of the Charming Baby Club, I felt some of the chaps would be interested in an initial impression in case they wish to try this establishment. I have no idea why this place ended up on my list of places to investigate, I suspect i saw an ad somewhere and got interested in the sexy dancing, but I do know the name put me off a bit. Charming Baby Club is not my ideal of a good name for a monger pick-up joint, which made me suspect this was mainly designed for local Chinese.
1. Anyway first topic is location, its on the small street just behind Chaoyangmenbei Dajie and north of the Poly Plaza. I think its Xizhong Jie, but if you are traveling north on Chaoyangmenbei Dajie take the first small street to your right once you pass the Poly Plaza (old) / Poly Theater and then about 25m later, turn left. You will quickly get to the 1st entrance to the East Gate Plaza, the club is right next to it and on Xizhong Jie. There is good large sign, but its covered by tree's so it may be hard to find in summer. There are a lot of people begging out front. Enter the 1st building and to left you will find the entrance. The address is 1F, East Gate Plaza, Dongzhimen, Beijing (beside poly plaza), phone 6418-5167. The url is http://www.charmingclub.com
2. I did not give this place my normal intensive inspection, so this experience may not be typical. I did my dumb laowai act (perhaps its not so much an act come to think of it, but I made sure I only spoke English). I was quickly ushered to a cubical, which was open to the front, and provided with a reasonable Chinese girl to accompany me. After buying her a hot milk shake (good lord!) we quickly settled down and i started asking her what the set up was, but did not get very far before my friendly manager re-appeared. He asked me to say i was his friend so I would get good service (I feel a con coming on) He left and quickly reappeared with a less than attractive girl. He told her to treat me well and she proceeded to fondle me, but I was more interested in the 1st girl who was nicer by a long shot. I was then offered a private room, which I declined. So I don't think there was any con going on, but the process seemed to be “Good looking girl up front, followed by ugly one who is suppose to stimulate the customer” I assume that you are expected to take the ugly girl to a private room, pay the price and then perhaps take her back to your room, but I am only guessing.
3. As it turned out I left before the sexy dance started at 11pm. I was told the dancer was very good and pretty. However I have seen lots of so-called sexy dancing in KTV's in Beijing and I suspect is was the normal good athletic dancing by a good looking bird, let down by the 60's style PLA underwear. This normally sends the local guys into a sexual frenzy, but just seemed embarrassing to a laowai used to the type of stuff you see in a underwear show in a normal suburban shopping mall. I often think that the mass of sexually provocative advertising a typical western guy sees each day back in the UK, or god forbid somewhere like Australia where the bounds are even more extended, de-sensitizes us to a good old fashion strip show.
If I go back again i will provided a more detailed description, unless there is someone out there who has been here and can add anything to my minimal report.
Stayed at the landmark hotel. At night, starting 8:00 a couple of mamasans are offering xiaojies. If you say yes, a horde of girls will immediately come from nowhere. You can make the picking from the street. I chose one. I know i overpaid at 400 RMB but i was horny. A slim cute 20 year old beijing ren. Normal FS, nothing special. She left and she gave me her number. I called her and it was busy. Later I got a call back and it was her mamasan offering a russian girl for 1500 RM. She said the girl is 20 year old and very pretty. She said i can look and if i do not like i can let her go, just give the girl 50 RMB. I did not bite as I was tired and just had my session.
I also visited a few weeks ago after getting handed a discount coupon in the afternoon. (It wasn't honored by the way!). I would say that this place is not worth a visit. Nothing really on offer except a free Chinese lesson with a pretty but pushy young student and aforementioned "sexy dancing." Food mediocre.

There are plenty of places to go, you're right. And I go to them all. Usually, it's a freebie college student (of which there are 4 on roation now) who's horny. If not there, then it's a multitude of places. KTV's, sauna's, The Den (one of my fav's just because I like the GM and wait staff for many years), and on about a once a month basis, MAGGIE's. But, since I now find out that once in awhile I go to Maggie's cuz I like the music, the bar, the setup and the late night fun and that makes me classless? Last night after having a meeting with a colleague at Kempinski hotel, I did the walk from there to the Hard Rock area. Just south of the HRC, right at the entrance street to the Sheraton and Landmark, there were 2 squad cars with their lights on that both had several girls inside, obviously geting busted. they didn't look happy at all - LaoGai's are not fun places. Also saw more than a few police on foot and hassling the girls who walk that stroll.
Maybe this happens all the time; I don't get to that part of town very much. At any rate, I saw more than a few real cuties. If you take out from Maggies or the Den or Hard Rock, or the PIG, there is a very good chance someone who knows you will see you, and a very good chance they tell someone, who tells someone, who tells everyone else in Beijing. And even if they don't see you, the security guards at your apartment will. And they all talk.
I just heard a story from my maid about a married friend of mine observed by my wife's tailor escorting a xiao jie out of his apartment at 7 am. Everybody except for this poor fellow, and probably his wife know he had a girl overnight. And she will find out pretty soon, even if she doesnt speak chinese. And you think your boss isn't going to hear? I can tell you about a few guys who thought that was none of the companies business until they were on the plane home - fired because somebody made a stink about it (probably to get him for something else) and the company decided he was making a bad impression for them in China.
So my point is, Maggie's takeout is for tourists, and those who don't care about their reputation. Others should be discrete. Saunas, BBS are much safer. Never take a hooker home, even if you are single. Rent a room.

i can confirm, hardrock, kempinski, sheraton, kunlun area has tons of SWs this days. My first time in BJ and its really insane. You dont even have to enter hardrock or stay in expensive hotel. There are some 3 star hotels nearby for around 290 a night. No problems bring girls so far, nobody cares.
Not all are SWs are beautiful, but 300-400 is ok I think.

Intransit paid his first visit to the new Maggie's tonight and was able to give it an almost immediate thumbs up. Within moments of taking a brief walk around the place, he identified and occupied the new Intransit Corner, which sports fine seating and two nice little tables for drinks and food, along with a heater to warm him on those cold Beijing evenings, whiling away the hours watching the pool players.
I dig the place. It's certainly much nicer and much larger than the old location. The size may be a problem. Even during the 1 am Golden Hour, the place did not look very full.
As for those who said the bar area is too big, I suggest a reason. Perhaps the area behind the bar was made intentionally large, so that those who like to hang out behind it have room. That said, those who stated they felt the place is "too bright" need to turn down their night vision goggles.
The new Maggie's will definitely be more acceptable to mainstream visitors, but frankly this doesn't really affect most of us. It's more of a Hong Kong model--an after-hours/all night type place where most, but not all, of those in attendance are on the game or playing it.
Sammy T continues to be a fine and gracious host. As one of his colleagues got annihilated on champagne charged to his tab (and none of which was offered to Sammy or myself), he used his considerable charms to bring over and introduce Ari, who is a grade-A hottie. I've seen this girl many times not only at Maggie's, but other venues including Hidden Tree. Fantastic bod, pretty face, but seems to be in real need of a dentist. Intransit is considering cleaning up the residence and making more of her acquaintance Thursday night.

Decided to give Maggies another go last night. Whereas the first time there I thought the ventilation was top notch, last night it was a sucky as any other bar in Beijing. Lucky me - I decided to go on "Lets All Smoke At The Same Time Night"....ggrrrr.

I checked out Baskin Robin Icecream today around 8 pm, but noboday was there or sitting on the benches.
So I went outside to China World Hotel entrance. A mami approached me, 3 girl came to choose direct infront of the hotel entrance.

Yesterday I checked Bananas Disco, I couldnt find any pros there, this is not a mongering place. However a nice disco, crowded and full with chinese people.
I also checked out for 2 days Oriental Mall, the Apartments and Hyatt Area. I didnt find anything there. Looks like complete clean. I wonder if the previous reports about people found hookers in the oriental shopping mall were fake.

Don't know how many of you folks get up to the Huilongguan area (north of Beijing in Changping District).
I recently tried a sauna just off the Huilongguan exit of the northbound expressway.
Damage for an hour of FS was RMB 788 + 40 or so for the showers, etc. Seems to me quite a bit cheaper than the FS places in town. (Although still more expensive than my favorite saunas in Shanghai.)

I've been able to negotiate 500-600 RMB ST occasionally, but they usually hit me for 800 too. Generally speaking, I have found Mongolian service better than their Chinese counterparts in Beijing anyway.
