My basic itinerary is to start at the Pig and Thistle in the Holiday Inn Lido. The Pig opens at 5 pm and is a great place to meet your friends for a beer after work. From 5 until 8 is "happy hour" which is 2 for 1 drinks. Chinese girls start to show up early, Mongolian and Russian girls later. At about 11 pm you can move from The Pig to Hard Rock. This will cost you a 100 RMB cover charge, but they will have a live band. You can avoid the cover by showing up early for dinner, but the girls will not start to show up until after 11. After 1 am head to Maggie's. It is that simple.
Below are some detailed descriptions of the venues available in Beijing
Pig and Thistle in the Holiday Inn Lido Hotel

Located outside off the 4th ring road, north east of the city along the way to the airport. Tell the taxi driver "Li Du Fan Dian" and he will know where to take you. For those historians on the board the Pig and Thistle was once called the Pig and Whistle, but they were forced to change their name a few years ago because there is some other bar in China with the name Pig and Thistle that has registered it as a trademark in China. It is easiest to simply refer to it as "The Pig". The Pig has a decent 2 for 1 "happy hour" from 5 to 8. You pay hotel bar prices for your drinks, but when they are 2 for 1 it is not so bad. Some Chinese working girls will start to show up as early as 6, and the Mongolian and Russian girls are usually in force by 10. If the Chinese girls are not in the Pig they can often be found sitting at either the Starbuck's or Baskin Robins in the Lido complex around the corner. All of the Chinese girls at the Pig are "regulars", there night after night. They are all very friendly and will be more than happy to act as a tour guide for you during the day. I have arraigned this for friends on several occasions and they have always been pleased. The Pig closes at 2 am, and last call is 1 am. Typically the girls will gauge the crowd and start to leave for either the Hard Rock or Maggie's around midnight. If you don't know what you are doing, just sit down at the bar and strike up a conversation with another guy. Make an innocent comment like "sure are a lot of girls here!" If you are lucky you may get me and I'll buy you a beer and fill you in on all of the local action. There is an ATM in the Lido complex that accepts international debit and credit cards. Since The Pig is located in a major international hotel chain it will accept credit cards for payment.
As InTransit has pointed out, The Pig is an oasis in the middle of hostile territory. The Lido is still a haven for much of the expat population in Beijing, so there is always a chance you will run into the wife of one of your expat partners. If it is early simply tell the girl to follow you at a safe distance, and to keep walking should you stop to chat with someone. There are currently a couple hundred American construction workers in town building the new American Embassy. They work 6 days a week, and are off on Sunday. It is best to avoid the Pig on Saturday night as the male to female ratio shifts the supply and demand curve to demand.
Hard Rock Cafe

Located right next to the Great Wall Sheraton Hotel. People start showing up around 11:00 pm. You have to pay a 100RMB cover charge to get in every night except Wednesday. The cover includes your first drink. They usually have a Pilipino band playing that is not too bad. Hang around the bar. I would venture to say that 99% of the single girls there are working, and they can all speak some English. The Hard Rock is a tourist trap, so there are some non-working girls, but it is easy to distinguish the pros from the straight girls. You will find Chinese, Mongolian, and some Russian girls at the Hard Rock. Talk, flirt, enjoy the view and the music. If you find a girl you like she will be happy to go with you. The girls have to pay a cover to get in every night, plus they must pay security monthly or they will be turned away at the door, so expect to pay a slight premium ( 800RMB) for them to go with you. If you want to make a friend, offer to take one of the girls from the Pig and Thistle to the Hard Rock with you. If they go with a foreigner then they do not have to pay the bouncers extra to get in. Once at the Hard Rock you can ditch her if you like, she will just be happy to be in the prime hunting grounds. Around midnight everyone will head out to Maggie's.
In the past I have suggested Wednesday night be deemed "beginners" night at the Hard Rock. There is not cover charge on Wednesday, and they play retro music. If you are new in town and looking for advice hang out on the staircase behind the bar. If you are an old hand and see some guy hanging out on the stairs by himself say hello and offer to show him the ropes.
Hollywood
Located in the Russian district right next to the Ritan Hotel (Re Tan Fan Dian). There is a 60 RMB cover charge to enter, and this gets you your first drink. Hollywood has the highest population of Russian girls in Beijing. Unlike The Pig, Hard Rock, and Maggie's, the girls are all sitting at tables waiting for the guys to approach them.
Passion's / Diamond Age
There has been much talk of "Passion's" which was once a bar/KTV in the Great Wall Sheraton. Alas, Passion's is now closed. It has been posted on the board by Alex Rock that most of the girls have relocated to a new bar downtown called "Diamond Age" or "Zuanshi Niandai" It is located in the basement of the Jianhua Garden Hotel. I have not been to Diamond Age yet. Based upon my experience at Passion's all of the girls will be Chinese of higher quality, but also higher price. They will expect you to tip them 500 RMB just for them to sit and talk/drink with you. It is a nice way to kill time, and will cost you about the same prices as 2 lap dances would cost in the USA. I plan to visit the Diamond Age soon, and will post my findings.
The Den

The Den is a restaurant and bar downstairs with a bar and dance floor upstairs. The food is good, and it is a nice pickup spot. There is a good mix of Chinese, Russian and Mongolian girls on any given night. There has been some talk about the bouncers at The Den getting a little carried away with people who get drunk and stupid, so if you fall into that catigory I would suggest you avoid The Den.
Bar One (formally Maggie's Club)

Located down the street from the Hilton hotel. Nice bar with lots of girls, but almost all of them work for the bar and are there to drink and talk with you, but not go home. If you sit and chat with them for a while they will expect you to buy them dirnks, and tip them at the end of the evening.
Maggie's

Probably the best know bar for our hobby in Beijing. The new location is at the South gate entrance to Ritan Park. Go to their website for a map, but most late night taxi drivers should know "maggies". There is no cover charge, but they sometimes give non-Anglos a hard time at the door saying membership is required. You may have better luck on a non-weekend night, and then once you establish yourself as a regular I don't think they will stop you. At Maggie's you will find Chinese, Russian, and Mongolian girls. Almost all of the Chinese girls in Maggie's work for the bar - their job is to sell you drinks, and get you to buy them drinks. They will also sometime ask you for a tip at the end of the evening. While it is possible to hook up with a girl who works for Maggie's, I have found it is rare. Maggie's stays open until everyone goes home. There have been times when I have walked in, found a girl, and left quickly, and other times I have not left until the sun came up. The main attraction of Maggie's is the Mongolian girls, and they will all end up at Maggie's around 1 am if they are not already taken.
KTV
There are 2 major costs associated with KTV'ing - The room, and the girls. When you first arrive you will be quoted a price for "the room". This price is based upon the size of the room, but think of it as a minimum purchase - if they say it will cost 1000RMB, that means you will need to purchase at least 1000RMB worth of food/snacks and drinks. This does not include the tips for "the girls". Once you get settled the Mamasan will bring in a lineup of girls for you to choose from. If you do not find anyone you like she will probably have another group for you to choose from. I always ask the group if any of the girls speak English. Finding an English speaking girl at a KTV is rare even in Beijing (and non-existent out side of Beijing). A KTV Tip: Once you find a girl who speaks English it is wise to get her mobile number, that way, if you plan to go to the KTV in the future you can give her a call and she will wait for you instead of joining the line-up for other guys. I have noticed that most of my Chinese friends all have "regular" girls they call before we arrive at the KTV bar so their girl will be waiting for them. Once you have picked your girl she will wait on you, pour your drink, toast you, offer you food, ect. If you get stuck with a non-English speaker that ask to play the dice game. You can usually do this without knowing any English, and it allows you and her to drink and flirt together. I have been told that these girls expect you to do just about anything but penetrate them, so feel free to let your hands roam. The girl will typically respond to your cue - if you are bold, she will be bold, if you are shy, she will be shy.
The last few times I have been in a KTV we have played "sex games". These are actually more innocent then they sound, the kind of games you would play at parties when you were in High School, but they are still kind of fun. For example, one of the guys would be blind folded and get to feel up each of the girls and try to guess which tits belong to which girl. Or the opposite, a girl is blind folded and grabs the crotch of each guy. Most of these little games involve the girl getting naked in one capacity or another, so it can be kind of fun. Recently I have also been exposed to "sex shows" where the normal KTV girls leave the room, and another girl comes in and does a Bangkok style sex show. To be honest, I can do without that, but if that is your thing it is now available in Beijing. My last visit when we played the dice game each time I would loose I had to drink, but each time the girl lost she took off an article of clothing. As I have played dice a few times in the past we soon had the cloths off all of the girls.
When it is time to go you will be brought your room bill. Have your Chinese buddy review it and make sure you are not getting cheated. If the place takes credit cards you can typically add the tip onto the room fee, and they will write you a receipt that says "meal" or "food" in Chinese. I have been to several KTV places in Beijing, and never tipped anyone but the Girl who sat with me (and the girls of my customers if I am entertaining them), and then a max of only 300RMB. I have been told by my Chinese friends that 100RMB minimum, 200RMB average, and 300RMB if you had a good experience. Maybe I am being too cheep, but the girls never seem to get angry or complain. I will typically buy the Mamasan a drink, but I do not give anything to the waitress. Remember that this tip does not include any take out fee - if you want the girl to go to your room you will need to negotiate this deal separately. I have never been in a KTV were there was not at least some girls that were willing to go with you. You just need to specify that this is what you want with the Mamasan before you pick your girl, and she will steer you in the right direction.
Just like everything else, I think the key to good service it to become a regular customer at some bar/KTV. The first few times you go have your Chinese buddy look over the bill and make sure you were not cheated, but once the Mamasan recognizes that you will come back, and bring other potential customers, then she will never try to cheat you.
Saunas
Sometimes when you are stuck in the middle of nowhere the only bright spot might be your hotel's "sauna". Most of the Chinese hotels will have some type of massage or sauna place down in the basement, and almost all of these places will perform extra services. These services will range from a hand job to full sex, depending on the place and the girl. Your biggest hurdle will be to convince them to service a westerner, so this is the time when you will need the help of your Chinese business partner. Ask him to arraign your first visit, and you can then go down whenever you want after that and negotiate on your own. There are several saunas in Beijing, but it seems to be a requirement that you speak Chinese to get any extras, so I have never been to any.
The Girls
Every week there are new girls coming to Beijing. At the same time, I have known many girls that have worked in Beijing for years. China will grant the Mongolians a 90 "tourist" visa, so most of the girls have apartments and spend 3 months in Beijing, then go home for a week or 2 to get a new visa. Since they have apartments it is possible to go back to thier place if you do not want to bring them back to your hotel, but you should confirm this first because they all have several room mates. Often when you go back with a girl to her apartment (Chinese or Mongolian) they will offer for their room mate to "join in". This of course will cost you more money. In my experience the 3-some in China is typically you have sex with one girl, then the other, rather than the orgy the movies make it out to be.
The girls all talk to each other, so if you screw one over the rest of them will quickly find out and either avoid you, or ask for a premium, up front payment before going with you. It is often difficult to discuss specific girls because many of them go by the same name, but once you become a regular you will start to realize which girls are regulars too.
Mongolian Vs. Chinese Vs. Russian
The old joke is "what do you call a Chinese girl with tits and ass? Mongolian!" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are some girls in the bar that I would not look twice at, but they still manage to find business. In my opinion the Chinese have a more classic beauty, but the Mongolian's have nicer bodies. I have found the Mongolian's to be more passionate. They are more likely to drink with you and have a good time in the bar before going home with you. Once you get them home they truly seem to enjoy their work. The Chinese girls in Beijing tend to be true "professionals" or inexperienced girls straight from the countryside. The Russian's attitude seems to be a cross between the two - they will drink with you in the bar to a certain extent, but they will quickly ask if you want to go with them. If you say no they will move on to the next guy. There are always exceptions, so your mileage may vary.
You can find Chinese girls on the street that are working for "mamasans", but most of the girls I encounter in the bars are all independent providers. I have not encountered a Mongolian girl yet that is working with/for a pimp, but it seems all of the russian girls are. I suspect this has something to do with their travel expenses - the pimp up-fronts the travel money and expects to make a profit.
Taking Girls back to your room
It is against the law to have a visitor in your hotel room after 11 pm. Many hotels will stop you if you try to take a guest to your room starting around 10:30. The girls will know the situation better then we do - If you pickup a girl in the hotel's bar then she probably will have a way to get upstairs. If you are taking her back to your hotel simply ask her if it will be a problem. If you are bringing back a Russian or Mongolian girl to your hotel then you can officially register her as a "guest" at the hotel front desk. All this means is that the hotel will make a copy of her passport. The girl must have a valid visa in order for this to work, so you may want to ask her if she has her passport before you head back to the hotel.
Cost
Many factors impact the price - short time vs. all night, age and experience of the girl, time in the evening (early/late), venue (Pig, Hard Rock, Maggie's), and so on. I am a firm believer in the idea that you get what you pay for. I want a good experience, so I am willing to pay a little more. I believe the price schedule I use is fair to both parties.
Chinese Farm Girl from off the street who speaks no English. One shot - 300 RMB
Chinese Girl from a bar who speaks English - 600 RMB (all night is rare because they have a home to go to)
Young Mongolian Girl early evening, one shot: 800 RMB. Early evening all night: 1,200 RMB. Late night one shot: 600 RMB, late night all night: 1,000 RMB
Older Mongolian girl 600 RMB
Russian girl: anyware from 600 RMB - 1,000 RMB depending on how busy they are

Any ideas?Go to the basement of WFJ hotel and enter the sauna. Ask for a shower and long massage(90 minutes). If you can speak chinese, tell your girl you want a hand job (da3 fei1 ji1). Should run 700-800 RMB. Full service (zuo4 ai4) will run 1400-1600. And they take credit cards!

Flew into Beijing on Thursday evening, checked into the Traders Hotel and promptly took a taxi to the HRC (special thanks to Sammy T's report.). I'm not sure if the taxi driver was confused on the location or if he wanted me to meet the Mamasans, but he dropped me off by the Great Wall Sheraton SBUX (and from this point, the HRC was nowhere to be seen). As soon as I got out of the Taxi, I was approached by 2 girls who I quickly determined where the Mommies.
It was tough to understand their rates, as they kept saying 100, 100, 100 and handed me their business cards. I asked 'where are the girls?' and they yelled out. 20 girls (no lie) came scurrying over to me, pitter pattering on their high heels. I was overwhelmed, but delighted to see so many to choose from. Several older Chinese men were standing up against the building taking in all the action and laughing. As I had just arrived and could not determine the price, I kept waking towards the HRC, all the way being followed by them. (My guess is that 100 is for the Mommy and I would need to negotiate w/ the girl.) Most of them were attractive, but I was determined to see what HRC had to offer.
As I entered HRC, I paid the 70 RMB fee and received a free drink coupon. It was about 11 pm as I entered. There was a good band playing and most people were either seated at the tables or the bar. I chose to walk to the end of the bar (near the restrooms) and sat at the corner, near a Brit who I befriended.
No sooner did I sit down and order a Tiger beer, minimally 5 girls (one after another) squeezed right in besides me to chat. As I had just arrived, I really wanted to nurse the beer and take in the scenery before entering hunt mode. I waved a few of them away and when I turned around to survey the action, I saw 10+ ladies standing behind me swaying to the music. Needless, to say, I swigged the beer and ordered another one.
One thing that several girls did to me was to squeeze in and say 'I buy you a beer!'. After saying NO a few times, I consented and said OK and ordered a beer from the bartender. When the brew arrived, the young lass tossed her 'free drink coupon' on the bar and then asked me to pay her 100 RMB for the coupon. I said no and drank the beer. (Interestingly, this girl named Van Shen was the one I ended up taking back.)
As the night proceeded and the beer flowed, I did notice a thinning out of the available talent so I decided to get into 'close mode'. BTW, I had been there about 2 hrs (awake now for 30 hrs) and I found some of the girls to be rather annoying. To get rid of the ones I did not care for, I asked them to pick a friend for a lesbian show back at my hotel and they all got pissed at this suggeston and bolted.
Also, most girls started at $200 USD and once they realized that I was somewhat savvy on the market rate (thanks to this board), they quickly settled in at 800 RMB.
By 1 am, I chose Van Shen and we proceeded out the bar. She agreed to 800 for LT. I needed to locate an ATM (Traders did not have one that I could find), so V/S led me to the GW Sheraton where I found one. Then, as we walked hand-in-hand to locate a taxi, she told me that she had her own car! Sweet! We walked about 5 mins and got into her new Toyota Camry, complete w/ a GPS system and rocking stereo. I was starting to dig this and wished I didn't drink so much.
(I popped a Cialis at the HRC before departing, just in case...)
As we sped back to the Traders, she parked the car on the sidewalk and we waltzed in. Not one person was in the lobby. I didn't even see employees there.) Got into the room, took a shower together, I shaved per her request and then we got down to business.
I got lucky as she was a real nice girl. Had the warmest body I've ever encountered. Felt like a down comforter. I had to turn the AC on to cool off.
We bopped for about 30 mins and fell asleep. At about 5 am, I awoke for round #2 (I think the C kicked in) and this time, we went about 1 hr w/ her on top the entire time.) Whew, I was spent.
At 8 am, she left and gave me her tel #. We're meeting tonight at the HRC, although there's so much talent there to select from.
Bottom Line - HRC is a great spot where there's plenty of talent to select from, they aproach you and the music/drinks are rocking.
The outside talent, which I believe is priced < 800 RMB looks tempting.
I'll be here thru Sunday if anyone wants to meet up.

Did you passed the street where they are a lot of stalls selling food? If you are come from WFJ hotel it should be on your right. And immediately after that traffice light is the Buxing Jie. (Street that is not passable to traffic). That will be the start of the street where all teh SWs and touts are. Keep walking and you will notice SWs and likely to be pulled by Touts. If you see KFC you are near end of the street and at the end of the street is MacDonalds.

My experience is that 800RMB LT from HRC is reasonable, not great, not bad. Do you have experience with the HRC scene, and if so, what do you suggest the rate should be?

First off, Faulk : when it comes to Beijing, you are mistaken. I looked at your posts, they are primarily from southern China, where anybody playing with a full deck knows that prices are a lot cheaper. I think most everyone would agree that Beijing is the highest price of the big cities. Beijing versus Guangzhou is apples and oranges. I agree with Boss - 800 LT from HRC is actually a decent score - many want 800 rmb, and get it; and many of the russians there these days are asking 1000 ST, and getting it. Ease up, Odessa.
Anyway, HRC Friday night : mainly "B" gamers, in my opinion. There was a group of 3 russians that looked do-able; one of them was a tiny little spinner that reminded me of Gauge. That could have been the beer goggles tho. I don't know about anyone else, but to me, most of the russians in town, no matter how hot they look - have this desperate, cold, and sad vibe about them that ultimately keeps me from picking them up. They all look like tough broads whose mood could go from horny to angry in a New York minute. As some have posted, the current band is simply horrible, and it took a lot of fortitude to stay and finish my 80 rmb beer before I left.
12:30 went to Maggies. It seemed like an off-night there, if there are any visiting members in town, please be assured that the quality was less than normal last night. It seemed like a significant percentage of the customers were just regular folks with their work mates and friends. But maybe it was just me. One other thing I did notice was that the Security guys were much more evident inside the bar - very heavy presense. Maybe there was a fight inside recently or something. But definately noticeable. Always walking around, checking out the customers and girls.

Can you third a motion? If so, I do. You are a legend. You have definitely taken over as the "King of Beijing" after the departure of the infamous Tapioca to Shanghai ayear or so back.
I've been trying to get an excuse to get up to Beijing and hook-up with you. I almost made it last week, but had to go to Seoul instead. I'll make it one of these days.
I hope to take inspiration from you and put together something similar for Shenzhen and Guangzhou, where I am known to monger the most.

LM is right as mentioned it is Wang Fujing Road but that part of the road is closed to traffice from 7am to 11pm that is why is it called Buxing jie 不行街
"Road of No Entry." If you ask the local there or Taxi drivers, all of them know the Bu Xing Jie.
I would totally save my money in Beijing for either Shanghai or anywhere down in the south. But hey....when u gotta nut....u gotta nut.

Pricing, as everywhere in PRC, depends on looks, experience and english skills - thus will range a bit. 800RM is a bit high for HRC, bit not excesive. It should be noted that every mid-October beijing fills up with tourists - pretty much all the hotels are full - esp next week - so i would imagine its not a buyer's market this month - so don't expect any good deals.
Try a less touristy place, perhaps a KTV or even Hollywood or Maggies.

I agree that it can be a little difficult with the Russians - you are never really certain of what you are getting into.
I was last in Beijing in mid August - had to leave early next morning so went to HRC to see what I could grab quickly, get the job done and still get some sleep rather than head to Maggies which is the normal place.
There were 3 or 4 Russians girls in a group. Lana an average height brunette, another Lana a taller blonde and another blonde whose name escapes me. They worked HRC til it gets on a bit then transfer to The Den after HRC.
I got talking to Lana the brunette even though I did really fancy the taller blonde. Any way I told Lana I really only wanted a girl for 2 hours and that then she could leave. The ads with all the flashy or so called tempting words are more likely from the pros, or at least semi-pros. "Ants climbing a tree" means that she would lick all over your body, named after that itchy feeling. The other two that you've mentioned, I've never heard of them before.

It was tough to understand their rates, as they kept saying 100, 100, 100 and handed me their business cards. Worked on the phone liked mad til 10pm. Took a walk outside to get some fresh air. Pretty dead where I was at the western part of town. Debated between heading out to HRC/Maggies or just call in for service. Made the lazy choice. Mama said she'll call back. 10 min later still no reply so I hit the sack. I am not a regular China monger, but I happened to be in Beijing for 2 days last week en route to North Korea (separate report there). I stayed at the Prime Hotel, probably a four star--very nice hotel, not too far from Tiananmen Square. I was in the mood for getting laid, so I went down to the hotel's spa. There was a price list of several different types of massages; I picked one and was led to a back room by a guy. I specified that I wanted a lady for the massage, feeling fairly secure that special services would be offered. A little while later two more guys came in with the young masseuse. For sure, this is a trap. You will have to spend couple of more thousand dollars and then she will disappeared. You could try it out by taking her to a place you know and order things you know the price. I bet she will say bye to you. Hope this helps.

SnifferThe one great piece of advice my father gave me back in the early 1970's, when I first landed in Taiwan (I am like you, HK born Chinese but grew up in the states, had just finished grad school and decided to return to Asia for look see), nothing is free and the cheapest lay you'll ever get is by paying with $$$.
I've been paying $$$ ever since for girls in Asia, although back home still got my share of 'freebies, one night stands', etc. Now with two college boys and a great wife (married for 26 years), still enjoying a taste of honey when on the road in Asia, and still paying $$$. If this is your first time to China and am looking for fun, I would suggested southern China more. The Beijing guys here might disagree. Southern China has a big selection with top notch service... ie Zhuhai and Dongguan.
If you want heaven and don't mind paying about $50 more per shot, then go to Macau. Macau has anything you want for around $100-150USD. These places in southern China usually have a catalog or multiple lineups of girls you can choose from. In Macau, you can choose any type of girl you want... big, small, tall, short, round, Russian, Eastern European, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. It's candyland in Macau!
My friends and I were in Zhuhai recently and was in this super awesome sauna (it was like a theme park with each room being different). Take Sammy_T's now classic posting as a primer on where to find women in Beijing. If you read through even a few weeks of postings you have to have read his posting.
The point is, it is most helpful to the forum and you will get them most help from the forum if you SHOW that you have done even a small amount of homework, AND ask thoughtful questions.
Do not ask "where do I find hot girls in Beijing?" The answer is - everywhere!
If you have not started with the "Beijing Beginners Guide" by Sammy_T, you should do so now. This is a very useful and accurate guide. Since this is going to your "first special trip in ten years" all the more you should do your homework.

Mmm, something is funny. She asked me a few questions. I tried not to talk too much. I was busy anyway, so I said I had to go. She asked me how she could contact me. I didn't say anything. That's the best part, and experienced mongers may have already guessed. This is my lover/friend who has supposedly gone to the clinic!!!
Well, I know that there is no free lunch, but now I'm totally convinced. There could be some casual freebies out there (I had a couple in the past too). But when someone tried so hard, came so fast, it is likely too good to be true.

Barber Shop (BBS)
There are many barber shop/hair salons all over Beijing. Some of these shops are legitimate places to get your hair cut, while others offer massage and "extras". The best way to tell the difference is to look inside. If you see several young girls dressed in tight outfits then they may offer extras. At some of the places the girls are standing in the doorway of the shop trying to get customers to come in. They all have some type of back room where the massage will be performed. Conditions vary widely from shop to shop - some have a nice back room with a small table or bed and a locking door, others just have an area partitioned off with a Curtin.
I have investigated the BBSs near the Lido hotel. They all are very aggressive and promised a massage, but they wanted to be paid 300 RMB up front. I suspect that this fee is just for a massage and they will try to up-sell you once they get you nice and comfortable (when it is more difficult to say no!). I know a (naive) western friend who fell for it - he went looking for a hair cut, and was talked into a massage for 300 RMB. After the girl had got him "excited" she told him she would give him a hand job for $100 US. This is way out of line price wise. Service will vary from shop to shop, or even from girl to girl. It has always been my impression that to take full advantage of the BBS scene you need to be able to speak good mandarin.
An alternative to the BBS is the Cigar Bar down the street from the Lido. In the basement they have several small rooms where they offer massage. Again, I have never partook, but I have looked at the rooms and they look nice. Friends have told me that for 600 RMB you can get full sex. I have also been told that the massage girls are available for take out. On the first floor are some girls that will sit in drink with you (similar to the Chinese girls at Maggie's), but only a few of them will offer massage. There are also different girls that are completely dedicated to massage, so before you spend a lot of time/money chatting up a girl find out if she will go the extra mile with you.

The one thing that made me most suspicious is that she took me to the tea room. When we are done with the chatting and tea, I took the bill. For the tea we have, which the tea house said to be the King of Tei Guan Yin (Iron Guan Yin), some dumplings, a fruit plate, and some dried fruit, the bill came up to RMB 1168!!!!! Just the tea alone was RMB 780! But she apologized profusely many times for not checking the price before the order was placed (she placed the order). And indeed, we never told the waitress what kind of Tie Guan Yin we wanted.
Maybe you already know this, but for the others who doesn't know. This kind of "date in a tea house" thing is definitely a scam, and a popular one. The lady is probably working for the tea house and getting commision for what you paid.

However, there are some exceptions: Some Chinese girls are out to get you in order for them to get a passport out of the country. They will give you anything in exchange for a chance to get them a passage out!

If this is your first time to China and am looking for fun, I would suggested southern China more. The Beijing guys here might disagree. Southern China has a big selection with top notch service... ie Zhuhai and Dongguan.
If you want heaven and don't mind paying about $50 more per shot, then go to Macau. Macau has anything you want for around $100-150USD. These places in southern China usually have a catalog or multiple lineups of girls you can choose from. In Macau, you can choose any type of girl you want... big, small, tall, short, round, Russian, Eastern European, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. It's candyland in Macau!
My friends and I were in Zhuhai recently and was in this super awesome sauna (it was like a theme park with each room being different). Each room had its own shower & bathtub, living room, and massage bed. It's the best I've had so far in China and it was only $100USD. You sit in your room and wait for the parade of girls to come to your room. Each lineup would be about 5-10 girls. If you didn't like the lineup, you would tell the attendant to send another line. I found some message parlors around Wudaokou area near Waima (sp?) supermarket. No, not Walmart, definately not Walmart. Anyway, anyone tried these places in Wudaokou are before?Good timing - I've been lurking on the Beijing forum for a while (I hope I don't get locked up by the LE for posting this) and found a really old report about a 'Massage Parlour' in Wudaokou (use the search function). This place is a brothel - they make almost no pretense about being otherwise. Just chat up the mamasan and tell her you're not there for a massage and you'll be offered a range of services prices going from 400 for a massage + a tugjob all the way to 800-1000 for FS with extras. Quick run down on action out east - which is a typical dead zone for laowai's.
The Mariott Bejing West (98 Xisanhuan Beilu, Hang Tian Bridge) has a reasonably good KTV in the basement which may is suitable for laowai's (although is focused on chinese customers). Large, good selection of girls for company and most will provide take-away service, if required. You can select a girl from the public entertainment area (although most of the entertainers will not sleep with you) or get the typical line up in the KTV room - check they will provide sex when you select the girl. Room costs are typical for beijing - includes wine or beer and some food. The typical tips are about 300RM if there is no take-out - and the take-out cost is in the 600-800RM range (I was with a number of locals, so it may be more if there are no chinese negociators present). Minimal english - but there is more english than a normal "local" KTV.
While not a good option if you are by yourself. But if you are in a group and don't feel like going into town - this is a good option.

I have completed my extensive research of this establishment and my conclusions are as following - this is more a typical high-class KTV than a bar you can pick up nice women. (Which does not suit the typical laowai "modus operandi".)
Location : You can check out previous posts, but briefly its in the basement of the JianGuo Garden Hotel, close to DongDan station.
When you enter you will have two options, sit at bar or take a room.
1. If you sit at the bar the girls, who will be behind you, will then come up to you and start talking with you. The problem with this is you may not get the type of selection you were after. It must be remembered that this is a "high-class" place with high-class prices - so unless the girl is very attractive - you are better off going elsewhere where its cheaper. Thus the first major issue is ensuring you get the quality that is comenserant to the pricing structure. My only thought is as you enter, walk slowly past the girls and check them out carefully - however this is difficult as you will be typically escorted into the bar. However you do it, make sure you are doing the selecting - because the UGLY girls will do the initial approaching. The reason why this is important is the companionship cost is 500RM, which is way above the normal price range in typical KTV's - so you need to make sure you get good quality. The drinks are 50RM for local beer and 60RM for high-class beers - bottle of whisky is about 1860RM. The drinks for the girls are the same as your drinks - and most of the girls in the bar will drink what you are drinking.
2. If you take a KTV room there are two options, small room or large room. If you select a large room the minimal cost is 3000RM - or put another way, you do not pay for the room, you pay for the drinks and food you order, in a large room if you order less than 3000RM, you will pay 3000RM. The small rooms do not have a minimal charge. The room are very nice, but the doors are transparent so you can't do anything too outragious. The typical drink bill for 2 guys and 2 girls ranges between 2000-3000RM. Beer and wine is cheaper than whisky - but all drink prices are higher than the bar. On top of this there is a 15% service charge. You would typical give the girls 500RM each and the drink girl and mamasan 100RM - possibly a bit more for the mamasan. There is one advantage - you get to select girls from a line up - so you can make sure you get a nice looking girl. At an average gross ASP of 5900RM for a maximun of 4 guys & 4 girls its an expensive way to get the desired level of quality - unless you really like KTV's.
The final issue, the take-away price. If you take-away you do not need to provide the 500RM companionship charge - but the girls will ask for 3000-4000RM - which as has been discussed endlessly in this forum - a bit pricy. As earlier indicated i have managed to get a good looking girls down to 2500RM and i am sure its possible to go lower - but its just too high to make any sort of sense in my opinion.
So if you like KTV's and want to spend several hours feeling up a beautiful girl - its a good place. For take-away not so good.

One of my local work mates told me he thinks most of the Passion Club girls have ended up in the KTV across the car park in the landmark hotel, somewhere in the basement. I am not familiar with this establishment, but will begin to investiage immediatly. Does anyone have any information on this place. (Quiet frankly - i can't ever remember there being a KTV in the basement of the Landmark Hotel - but as i know from experience they can be very carefully hidden from random eyes - thus i would not be surprised if i have missed it for the 8 years i have been hanging around this city).

Diamond Age is owned by the same people as Passion and many of the girls are ex Passion girls. The Passion close out party was held at Diamond Age and everything was free except for the take-outs.
I sometimes go there at around 12.30 - 1.00, get a beer at the bar and then let the girls come up one by one. As most of you know, when you get to know some of these girls, they will bring their prices down and occasionally do freebies or stay on Saturday night and go home Sunday night.
Some really super girls only work there one or two nights a week. They try to get phone numbers rather than hussle there.

Some girls, when they don't sell paintings, work for Tea Houses or some restaurants who will overcharge you, and the girl will get a percentage of it from the Tea House. That's how they make money. Most girls who approach you in tourist aeras like Wangfujing, pretending "they only want to practice their english", do this. Never go to a Tea House with them or let them take you to a small restaurant they know.

Last month while on a business trip in BJ I encounter a similar experience.
A nice young girl with big rack tried to sell me a painting but I wasn't interested. She then told me that she wanted to learn English and suggest that we go to a teahouse to some small chat. It has been over six months since my last time in BJ and i was surprised to see so many changes. I had a similar wallet-damaging experience a few months ago while wandering around the mall near the Grand Hyatt. Most people who "tout" you in Beijing really just want to rip you off, often by physical force. Just don't do it.
I know a couple of guys who were tricked into this ruse in Shanghai after food and drink was ordered and brought to the table. They didn't have that much money on them and the girls didn't speak much english. They sized up the situation, made an exit strategy and basically ran out the door leaving the girls behind to deal with the bill. If you find yourself in such a situation, I suggest the same tactic if you can get away without physical harm.

Stayed at Crowne plaza on Huan road, Chayang District and it is reasonably priced and very girl friendly. A few girls were hanging out around lobby but only 6-7's. I went with a buddy to Hollywoods last night to check it out. There is a 40RMB cover charge. Anyone know if you are supposed to get a drink with the cover charge? Not had a good night out in Beijing for a few months, what with work commitments and all. Headed out to the Pig (I'm Beijing resident for several years, the Pig is the closest to what you might call my "local") on Saturday night around 8.30pm until 11.30pm. I recently stayed at the Sheraton Great Wall - a stone's throw from HRC. After losing my work colleagues I ventured across to HRC. The short stroll takes you past numberous SW and their agents. Many bu yao le's later I arrive at the HRC and find I am intimidated by the place. Its not Wan Chai Hong Kong friendly and does not draw you in if you are on your own. After a couple of abortive trips up to the counter I retreated to the street outside. I took refuge in a massage place clearly advertised a short walk to the left.

Pass that, keep going east and you'll going to hit another intesection of Chengfu Lu and Huayuan Lu. Drive slowly (I mean slow) as soon as you pass the lights at Chengfu Lu and Huayuan Lu because those joints are now at your left hand side; but, do not keep going east because you are going to hit another intersection of Chengfu Lu and Huayuan Dong Lu. Once you pass the intersection of Chengfu Lu and Huayuan Dong Lu, there's nothing there.
Wait. We might be talking a different place here. The place that I went into is at Wudaokou (still at Chengfu Lu), before McD but after those many cellphone shops. And honestly, I didn't see any Intellifitness building anywhere. What I know is that if I keep going west at the area I will see Zhongguancun.

I think there's already been talk of the BlueFox bar at Van Palace (behind the Kerry Center). A couple questions have come my way after my post about the Huakang Hotel (thanks for the google effort HL) and suggestion that you let the girl do the registration.
I always tell the girl to register so that it is easy. The hotel expects to see a Chinese ID card, not a foreign passport, so why give yourself grief? The girl knows what to do, so let her get on with it! The faster she is done, the faster you can get upstairs...
BTW, I don't stand over her as she does the registration thing either - no need to give the hotel any reason to ask more questions!

The Jianguo Hotel is on Jianguomenwai (near 3rd Ring Road) and is an OK hotel. Certainly girl friendly. I place some clients there at times. Other hotels in that are are JingGuang Hotel and Zhaolong Hotel. Both good hotels.
Jianguo is within a 10 minute taxi ride to many of the favorite haunts from this board.

Went to HRC two nights and saw only many many guys and few girls. I wish I could come and report a few things, but.... I don't know if it is a good thing or not... I have a freebie that now lives in Beijing. Formerly a KTV girl that demanded big money from her clients just to sit. I wrote in several previous post that the serach function is NOT working correctly but you still can use it. The problem is the serach engine is NOT return ALL the results. I remember it returned page after page of info. Now it's only about 3 pages on the same subject. It's also harder to use than before the upgrade.
For your problem, check "Reports" option instead of "Threads" for a serach. You were returning the entire "Thread". It took me over 3 months playing with it to figure this out.

If you think it's bad now, I predict when it gets closer and closer to the 2008 Olympics, prices will really go UP. I can see the China threads being hit by lots of newbie questions. I bet finding a cheap hotel during this time will be nill. I would guess, like all pass holidays there will be a big crack down by the police. Reason, it wouldn't look good to the world if too much prostutition was going on. For Olympic security, like checking for bombs, will be very tight.
But overall in Beijing now, the price increase mainly caused by China's growing ecomony and maybe a little from the building of the new US Embassy I recall reading. The gov't doesn't want the ecomony to slow down, therefore more investors ( newbies or foreigners ) will be coming to China for cheap labor. I forgot to add the occasional tourist to the loop as newbies.

If you think it's bad now, I predict when it gets closer and closer to the 2008 Olimpics, prices will really go UP. I can see the China threads being hit by lots of newbie questions. I bet finding a cheap hotel during this time will be nill. I would guess, like all pass holidays there will be a big crack down by the police. Reason, it wouldn't look good to the world if too much prostutition was going on. For Olympic security, like checking for bombs, will be very tight.
But overall, It's mainly caused by China's growing ecomony. The gov't don't want it to slow down and maybe a little from the building of the new US Embassy in Beijing.

I think the big driver there is the US Embassy construction workers that rule the roost on weekends. They make some nice bucks and they are all like sailors on a cinderella liberty pass - they don't give a rat's ass what the prices they pay do to the local market.
It's also got a higher percentage of western visitors to Beijing. These guys travel 3 or 4 times a year and are used to paying 200 bucks for a good handjob.

The WangJing Massage place is a tricky one to find. It is in the basement of an apartment block which also has a small KFC around the other corner. Not the big KFC on the main drag of Wang Jing though. The business card I have is in Chinese but even by using that with a taxi driver, it is still not easy to find. I will dig out the card and obtain the number and a quick call once in the taxi should be all you need to do. Can I post the number or must you PM me?? It is a legitimate place and is open 24hrs which is why it rates highly in my book. Not a one of these places with touts on the streets and a totally different price to the one you agreed on entry. Here are three saunas in in Chaoyang area of Beijing. All are close by to each other. Start from Zhaolong Hotel, which is on corner of 3rd Ring Rd. East and Gongti Bei Rd, the same road that the Sanlitun Bar Street is on. Continue east from Zhaolong Hotel (the direction of 4th Ring Rd). When you cross 3rd Ring Rd. the road name changes from Gonti Bei Rd to somethng else. Not sure what it is, but continue east and pass over 4th Ring Rd. Past 4th Ring, turn RIGHT at the second traffic light. Then, on the left side of the road, about 100 meters down the road, is a big sauna place. At this place they offer a massage/blow job/breast massage combo for around RMB300-350. Nice clean upscale place. The girls vary month to month. Always best to decline and see the next one if you don't like the one they bring.
The second sauna: from the one just described, continue about 30 meters or so and make the first right turn. Then the sauna is on the right about 50 meters down the road. This place isn't as upscale, but they have FS for 400 and generally a good selection.For RMB600 you also get blow job and extra fake moaning; for 800 add on breast massage and sweet whispers in your ear.
Also, there is a third sauna in this area: from the first sauna described, continue straight ahead (south) on the road, past the intersection, and it's on the right around 100 meters down the road. Services are similar to the first sauna described. And a bit cheaper. RMB250? Haven't been there in a while though so don't quote me on that.

Services are run of the mill. Extra will only be HJ, at most with the top off.
Entrance is 128 from 1700 to 2200. Other times the entrance would be 78. Normal massage is 198, HJ massage is 238. But it seems that she will only tug you to completion if you order a double session. Effectively, the HJ massage is 576.
Foot massage can be had at the rest lounge, at 68. IMHO, they are quite good.
There are also private rooms availble. The captains would try to convince you to get a private room, especially if you go in a group. Prices start from 70/hour, 280/day.
Has anyone ever tried to bring SW there? I know it's not very economical, but I would think it's safer and easier than checking into a budget hotel. Not to mention better facilities. Let's say you go off peak. Entrance would be 156, and 140 for 2 hours rent. That would add up to 296, add another 140 if you want to overnight there.
Would like to know if anyone had tried this here(or any other upscale SPA) in Bei Jing. Or just your opinion on this.

How did you manage to get a HJ there? Welcome to Beijing. There's all kinds of girls here, so I am sure that there are some that will be up for what you are looking for. My suggestion is get 2 rooms - this is your first trip here, and if you get your own room you could try for 2 girls. 1. There is 1 company who provides tour guide, translation services, and social escort (not the type of escort that we usually have in US or Europe). The girls are mainly students. They will go with you for dinner, sight seeing.

Last night I went to the Hai Zhi Lin Sauna at Zhi Xin Cun area of Haidian, again, after some 7 months since my last visit (pls refer to my early report as #2635 in Beijing thread, with detailed address info).

I would have to agree that staying at the lido is only good for one thing. That is the easy access to the pig downstairs. Other than that, you really dont want to be staying that far away from town, as navigating beijing for first timers with no mandarin can be a total nightmare in taxis. I would reccomend any hotel within walking distance of a subway station. This allows for easy access to the CBD during daytime tourist hours, but also gives you an easy landmark to learn so you can tell taxi drivers at night where you want to go. However, some other good bets, are the KunLun Hotel, the Kempinski, or the City Hotel. Obviously theres plenty more down and around the city centre but these are three hotels i would say have ideal locations for a few nights of mongering.
And just to change the subject a little, has anyone been to cafe del mar? apparently its up near the lido somewhere and is quite a seedy place but with lots of, very, cheap action on offer.

Prices at the Pig have been going up with Sha Sha, Linda and the gang fo Chinese girls. When they were newbies (ie last year!), you could have them for 300-400rmb ST.
They have since learned that crazy and ignorant newbie foreigners who are here only on travel don't know the going rates and overpay. Some pay up to 1,200rmb ST, which is way too much especially since most of this gang of girls won't do BJ's - covered or not. Xu Sha Sha et al now hold out for more RMB.
Note to newbies to the Pig, don't overpay! They are not worth overpaying for.

My two cents on the Cafe del Mar: First, they renovated the place several months ago, so it's not quite the dive that it used to be. They do have a few nice girls there. I went to check the place out one afternoon last week. I was quoted RMB 1598 for the VIP room, which has private jacuzzi, shower and sauna, or RMB 894 for a regular private room. I managed to negotiated the price of the regular room to RMB 800, all inclusive.
The place is indeed very upscale. I went in the early afternoon. So the choice of girls was more limited. I didn't like the first two they sent, who were a bit older, probably in their late 20's. Whe I make it to senior member, I'll post the scan of their tarif in English: you'll not understand much, but you'll have a good laugh.
Total damage including tip= 800. The showers, resting area, and jacuzzi are really high class and spotless. Kind of Philippe stark design for those who know the architect.

Here are three saunas in in Chaoyang area of Beijing. All are close by to each other. Start from Zhaolong Hotel, which is on corner of 3rd Ring Rd. East and Gongti Bei Rd, the same road that the Sanlitun Bar Street is on. Continue east from Zhaolong Hotel (the direction of 4th Ring Rd). When you cross 3rd Ring Rd. the road name changes from Gonti Bei Rd to somethng else. Not sure what it is, but continue east and pass over 4th Ring Rd. Past 4th Ring, turn RIGHT at the second traffic light. Then, on the left side of the road, about 100 meters down the road, is a big sauna place. At this place they offer a massage/blow job/breast massage combo for around RMB300-350. Nice clean upscale place. The girls vary month to month. Always best to decline and see the next one if you don't like the one they bring.
The second sauna: from the one just described, continue about 30 meters or so and make the first right turn. Then the sauna is on the right about 50 meters down the road. This place isn't as upscale, but they have FS for 400 and generally a good selection.For RMB600 you also get blow job and extra fake moaning; for 800 add on breast massage and sweet whispers in your ear.

I have been pretty lucky with some of my experiences considering the states i have been in after getting back to my room. However, Im afraid to say that, that was a bit of a school boy error my son. Always lock up your valuables either before you go out or when you get back. Especially in your case when you think you have scored for a cheap session of fun. it's a hotel - there is no scene there. There is no "disco", either.
This town is full of great places, and you want to just hang out in your hotel ? Geez. Get out and enjoy the many places that have been written up on these pages
There are lots of ladies going up and down the elevators, but most are brought home from other venues. There are a few who stake out terrain in the lobby from dinner onward and there are SWs in the rear of the hotel (at least when its warm). But i would strongly recommend a trip to Maggies, the Den or HRC. The quality and depth of selecton in the Hyatt is sub par at best.

Even if some time past by since my last report I haven't stopped to sometimes try some russian pussy, therefore want to add some more experience about Hollywood and the russian girls.
Some months ago I went to there and direclty found a real beaty, 21 year, about 165cm, blond hair and slim body. if I remember correctly her name was Natascha.
