Sorry, fellow mongers to be possibly putting this in the wrong forum, but couldn't find anything for Jilin. I will be spending the first week of January in Beijing for a short vacation and then going on to Jilin City for work. I am desperate to find info. on mongering in Jilin City. It is cold as a witch's tit out there this time of the year, so would appreciate any advice, hints on mongering in Jilin.
About Bejing, past threads mention a few hotels near the World trade center, any updates on what is available now? Or anything near subways that are near mongering areas? Winter prices? Does anyone have any recommendation for lodging that costs les than $50 US? I have been to southern china many times, but this is my first foray into the north. Finally, any experiences with San Pei (eat, drink, sex) in Beijing? In southern China these are Apartments where you can hang out be fed decent food/drink and ST with decent-looking ladies. Any such places in Beijing? Any websites or recommended services? Also will be willing to meet up with any fellow mongers to do some mongering.
The Lido beds are doubles and kings. When they mention twin, they are just saying there are two double beds in the room. It is best to get a king though. Donno about the Sheraton Great Wall but I would suspect it is the same as Lido.Great wall has rooms with two single beds.

This is only my opinion and other may disagree, but i find mongering in Beijing is an acquired taste – initial impressions and experiences can be disappointing. I personally prefer Beijing over shanghai any day, but then i have spend 8 years in Beijing so my view may be bias.
As a general rule of thumb Beijing is more expensive than shanghai, but its easier to get ripped off in shanghai. Beijing has a better supply of Russians and Mongolians, while shanghai has a better supply of Philippines, Koreans and Colombians. Beijing has a larger supply of freelancer's, while in shanghai a lot of the girls work for someone. Shanghai has a wider range of bizarre sexual services, the ceiling rope trick, the electrodes on your genitals and a range of similar wholesome activities. All this can be found in Beijing, but its harder to locate. There is more English in shanghai, although the girls you find who speak English in Beijing do so much better - and charge a lot of extra money. Shanghai is far more professional and commercial, Beijing is more amateur and rustic.
These are my initial comments, but a lot depends what type of services you want. As you are from Korea, which has the best KTV in the world, i would probably avoid KTV in Beijing, but shanghai has a good range of Korean KTV. It also depends on whether your are Korean or European – if you are Korean i would suggest shanghai should be your target.
So in summary, try both locations and give us your comments.

Agree - but i must admit those guys in shanghai are at lease inventive. They use a medical device designed to put a low level electric current through parts of your body suffering arthritis, this is suppose to relive the pain. They are manufactured in shanghai and exported to Europe and the US.
The locals get them cheap and somehow increase the current and place the electrodes on each testicle sending a current through that part of your body. At the same time the girl gives you a blow job. I totally agree. I mongered in Shanghai and Beijing. And Beijing was almost 90% better for me then Shanghai.
Shanghai feels like every modern city in the world, but Beijing is a very special city with a great atmosphere.
Also Shanghai is a very ugly city compared to Beijing.

Since that guy is not that senior, it seems, he does not warrant the service of the marketing director or sales director (or may be they are a bit old for that purpose?) Hence it becomes my girlfriend’s job to keep him happy, including in bed. Guess this kind of thing is quite common in China, though unfortunately I’ve never been on the receiving end.

I agree, the period running up to christmas is normally very good times for any-one who stays in beijing - lots of supply, not so much demand. I do find a lot of the girls stop working for while between christmas and new year - some take this opportunity to spend there hard earned money on a cheap holiday to thailand or HK, or anywhere else they can get to.

I knew this, and that's why I asked the girls how they counted their age, which allowed me to determine their real age. Unfortunately, I only found out after having sex with Dong.

I don't know the age of consent in China, but in many East Asian countries, it is only 16 years old.
In some parts of Japan (not Tokyo), the age of consent is only 14!

The date of birth on the ID card is your actual date of birth, but it seems quite usual for young people to add a year or two to their age when getting their ID card if they want to work while under 18, they may then change it back when they are really 18.
The LE would use the western standard to count a persons age. So I would also agree that if a girl looks young, then best to stay away.
According to law Chinese and foreigners in China must carry ID or Passports(for Laowai) around with them at all times. If you are unlucky enough to be questioned by the police or are involved in some problem with the Police then they will normally not let you go until you can prove your ID. WooVictor is correct. ALL Chinese in mainland will add a year to their actual age, because they count the "year" a person spent in the mother's womb. So when a child is born, she is considered to be one year old.
When I ask a girl of her age, I will always ask whether that is her real age or calendar age ("Shi Sui" or "Zhou Sui"), is that the "virtual age" ("Xu Sui"). The more educated girls in bigger cities like Beijing and Shanghai would tell you their real age immediately when you ask how old they are, simply because they have more encounters with the western culture. But as expected, most of the girls in the service industry are not very well educated and the traditional concept is very much rooted in their mind.
For law enforcement and any other purposes related to the government, they will of course go by the date of birth on the ID cards, which will be the real age.
It's true that fake ID cards are widely available in China. So some girls will obtain one simply for the sake of living in another city or finding work.
In any case, if the girl looks too young, it is of course a good idea to stay away. I have in the past actually asked for the girl's ID Card. Most Chinese will carry the card with them as it is required by law. It is of course difficult to tell whether the card is real or fake. But it is still a good safe guard in some cases.

The date of birth on the ID card is your actual date of birth, but it seems quite usual for young people to add a year or two to their age when getting their ID card if they want to work while under 18, they may then change it back when they are really 18.
The LE would use the western standard to count a persons age. So I would also agree that if a girl looks young, then best to stay away.
According to law Chinese and foreigners in China must carry ID or Passports(for Laowai) around with them at all times. If you are unlucky enough to be questioned by the police or are involved in some problem with the Police then they will normally not let you go until you can prove your ID. I'm in Hong Kong now, and on Thursday night I went to my hotel bar in the Holiday Inn Golden Mile. There were 4 or 5 chunky mongolians who usually work at Maggies hogging one side of the bar; I tried to explain to them that I need a little variety once in a while, using my typical irish diplomacy.

I finally decided to try and find the KTV across from the old Passion Bar which i have been told was one of the places the old Passion Girls went and have found it. From the car park enter the main lobby of the landmark hotel - on either side you will find escalators - one going down and the other going up. There is no signage, so i went down the escalators and found all the trappings of a KTV. It was early and i was by myself so i did not try and partake - but i got the impression this was not a laowai type of place. Has anyone tried this place and do you have any comments - i did not notice any bars, but it was dark and designed like a maze, so i could of easily missed it. There was no name or signage of any description.
I also noticed the sign out the front of the old passion bar is gone, the one which said they were re-opening last July. I tend to notice a lot of places close and get re-modelled over winter, to open next spring - it would good if some other good places opened - if for no other reason but for variety.
The natural order is continuing to change in Beijing - first the unfriendly chinese at the pig and yesterday at Hollywood disco one of the russians actually approached me. The Chinese are getting more unfriendly and the russians more friendly - what next!

Quick run down of Cafe Del Mar. Address is Jing Tai Road (Same road as Lido). Just turn right when you exit the front of Lido Hotel, cross a small street and 100m down the road you will find it, past some restaurants, on your right. For those not aware, this is a sort of cross between a BBS, The Den and Maggies. I will not cover the BBS aspect as this has been discussed before and i cannot add anything.
At the ground level you will find a restaurant with a good western menu, similar to the Den. I found the pizza's rather good. You will also find a number of the 18 companions who work their - there job is to get you to buy them drinks (normal price) and perhaps get a small tip. The quality is not great, there may be 1 or 2 average looking very young girls, but a lot of below average lady's. I suspect if you want more than companionship the bait & switch routine will occur - as is typical in the BBS in this area. Up stairs is a big TV, bar and pool table and the atmosphere is rather good (seedy). Finally, compared with places like maggies or bar one this place is very cheap. So, in summary, if you want a quick dinner, drink and cuddle followed by a tug, all at a reasonable price - its not bad. But don't expect any Paris Hilton's.

In my search for variety i tried the Xenia Club - here is my quick report. The location is 35 Xiaoyun Road. This is the road you normally travel down on your way to Lido from down-town. Its on the left side and about 100m from the intersection of Xiaoyun Road and the 3rd Ring Road - not to far from NuRen Jie (Lady Street). There is good signage. This is another massive techno pop disco, similar to BabyFace and Bananas - i found the atmosphere to be good. Great decor, two dance floors and once it ramps up i am sure it will become an excellent disco. Unlike Banana's i did not locate any "companions", so like babyface this looks like a legit disco. I also did not locate any free-lancers, but when i went it was too quiet for this - and i was the only laowai - so i did not expect any. I would suggest on a Friday or Saturday evening, late in the evening, there may be a chance of picking up a semi-freebie.
This club is associated with Xenia in Korea - i assume Seoul - so i assume some Korean influence may be evident - however i did not find any in my visit. Incidentally, there are KTV rooms - but i think this was for totally legit KTV.

There are a number of asian countries with this requirement - i typically take photo id with me, but rarely take my curent passport with me while wandering the streets in the evening - as the last thing i want to lose is my passport. I use to carry around my old passport - as it sometimes had critical visa's in it. I use to carry this around when i wandered around in thailand - another country which requires everyone to carry ID. After being held in a police station in indonesia for 4 hours because i had no ID, i learn't this lesson. (I was so green i didn't realise all they wanted was a bribe - but having ID would of ensured i did not get into trouble in the first place.)

It's the Hard Rock. By the way, on a side note, the Sheraton Great Wall does not appear to be girl friendly these days. I now have a regular semi-freebie (willing to be free, but helping her out anyway) who I invited up to my room. She was chased away by the guards. I came down and took her to the lounge/bar for a few drinks. Then we got up and went directly to the elevators. The guard approached, but I shot him a look, and he backed off.

Hollywood was raided about 2 1/2 hours ago (21:30) - always keep your passport on you - or at least photo id - although that does not work sometimes. Everyone had to show ID.
I now know why the russian girls never approach anyone - the place occassionaly gets undercover police coming in - one of the girls approached one of them yesterday evening - thus the raid this evening. I also suspect the fact a new updated Hollywood disco open about a week ago close by may have something to do with it - i think its called ascent or something like that.

I am reliably informed that the only place your gonna find japanese or korean freebies will be around the woudakou bar scene. Ive never been up there. One thing to note however, this is the primary student hang out and whilst very popular and many a beautiful girl to be had, it aint exactly the place for outright blatant mongering. Plenty of freebies to get into as long as you are comfortable with socialising amongst the younger generation. There is also the task of coming between your target and the entourage of japanese/korean guys who surround these girls as though they are their property. Ive heard some quite nasty stories about westerners who have assumed the girls up there are on the same level as the average maggies girl.

During my first post in beijing in the late 90's our legal team advised us to NOT carry our passports, ONLY carry photocopies. The reason, and this may only apply to US citizens, is that a US passport legally belongs to the US government, not to the holder. If a cop asks for your passport, show him/her the copy- if they insist on the real passport , tell them to go to the Embassy and make an official request, as you cannot be forced to give Chinese authorities property of the USA. In some situations, that would potentially scare the cops enough to let you go without hassles.
I think your logic about US passports is the same for all countries passports.

I do have a few friends who work in the diplomatic circle in Shanghai and Beijing, and here's what I've learnt from them.
(a) Yes, the passport is the property of the government, and that's the case in any country. But it is also an identification document that the government issued to the holder for the purpose of travelling. So if the passport holder is entering or has entered another country, under proper legal authority, the host country does have the rights to require the person to carry and show the passport. The passport issuing country (in this case, USA), has no jurisdiction over this.
(b) Being in China, the law requires everyone to carry either a Chinese ID card or a foreign passport from time to time. If you try telling the police officer to go to the embassy or consulate to get your passport, it simply wouldn't work. Try to imagine this, if an American cop stops some Chinese in NYC and ask for proper identification, and the Chinese tells the cop to go to the Chinese Consulate General in NYC, I can imagine where the cop would tell the little Chinese to go to...
(c) If any Chinese police approach a foreign embassy or consulate and request for someone's identification proof, the embassy and consulate does NOT have to comply at all. Under the Vienna Convention, the embassy or consulate is considered as the territory of that particular foreign country. Under normal circumstances, the Chinese police is not even supposed to enter. Chinese police is in fact very conscious of that. They would usually only communicate with the embassy via the Foreign Affairs Office. If there is any kind of emergency or serious cases that they must visit an embassy, they will need to make an appointment through the FAO.
The office of a friend of mine has recently received a sudden inspection by the local Exit & Entry Administration Bureau, which is a division of the Public Security Bureau. My friend did not have his passport with him. He was required to bring the passport in to the PSB Office that same day. While he was there, he was told by the officer that he IS supposed to carry the original passport with him at all time. Even a photocopy or the employment permit is not sufficient.
That being said, I'm with most people in that I worry more about losing my passport than not having that with me during an inspection. Particularly, if I'm visiting place that I'm not supposed to (BBS, Sauna, etc.), I do worry about the passport being "borrowed" by one of the nice service providers.
I've heard of a case where a girl held the passport from a guy and asked for ransom. She of course didn't get anything. The guy simply reported the passport lost and got a replacement. But it's all the hassle one has to go through that scared me off.
I think for most of you who are not from a Chinese ethnic background, or those who are but could not speak any Chinese, you will more than likely be OK during a regular ID inspection, even if you are not having the passport with you. Majority of the regular Chinese police still doesn't speak much English and would therefore avoid the trouble of finding someone to interpret, etc.
But for those of us who has Chinese background and can speak the language, we will get more hassle when the same happens.

I do believe photo copies will be enough in most cases. After all, if really necessary, you can have the police officer to go back with you to your hotel for the original documents, why do you risk to lose it? The other reason is I don't trust the lockers in Saunas or KTVs and I don't want any of the service providers to know my real name, address, company, etc.

The nice policeman made it very clear to me i had to carry a passport - all i had was an APEC ID card with my chinese visa in it - this was not enought - although he let me go with only a warning. The french guy next to me had a French diplomatic pass - i did not see him leave the disco when i left - and i hung round a while out the front. The guys with valid passports were all let off quickly - even the local guys who had only standard chinese ID papers (and i can tell you they look relieved). After about 2 hours they started letting the girls go, but i did see some being taken away. The disco was closed down shortly afterwards.

So I guess I'll just continue to roll the dice. Not really into saunas or KTV's anyway. Should I ever get in a situation where they want to see the original, I will suddenly forget that I speak chinese, and play the stupid-ass american business guy. I'm good at that role.

APEC ID or diplomatic pass are less popular in China - most poiceman has never seen one so they think only 'passport' is valid, only the ones from FAO will accept that.

unfortunatly the nice policeman spoke perfect english and russian - as for the notice at the airport - there are actually very few countries which do not require you to always carry valid id - so this may not work (hk is the same). i think the best strategy carry a photocopy of the 1st page (with picture) and photocopy of valid visa and some form of official looking photo id is the way to go. i do not wish to lose my passport by carrying it around.
however talking to my hk buddies, they feel the police in beijing are very straight - or perhaps just cautious - so the risk of being thrown in the locker or asked for a bribe is probabaly low if you do not have a passport. after 8 years i have only been asked for id twice in beijing. unless you are actually caught in the act of stimulating closer laowai/chinese contact, which is probabaly a boo-how situation, i feel you will be ok. but saying that - its still an unpleasant experience while you are waiting to be interviewed.

A late Christmas present for those interested in a relatively cheap AMP (full service) experience in Beijing near Dong Zhi Men i.e you're extremely lazy like I am.
At the intersection where Dong Zhi Men Nei road (Da Jie) and Jiao Dao Kou road meet, if you walk 50m east on the southern side of the road there is a sauna in the basement of a pretty new grey high rise residential building. It's a 24 hour joint, I went there at about 11:30pm.

I can relate to this, after considering myself proof from any form of addition through the process of conscious abstinent, for no other reason but to prove i was not addicted (alcohol, smokes, chocolates, certain foods, anything you can think of) i found i was not able to control my mongering in certain situations. As a result i actively avoid certain places, Bangkok and Manila, for example, because i know i have no will power in those places.
You need to control your habit, not the other way around – so best of luck and hope you find the relationship you are looking for.
From personal experience i think the best way to prove you can control yourself is to make a conscience decision to abstain for an extended period of time – no matter what – i normally find 6 months a reasonable time frame.

Coincindently, I was discussing just this subject with another monger today. I believe one can separate mongering from "normal" life. I reckon it just takes striking the right balance between the two. I feel that I can be emotionally satisfied by one woman, but will never be satisfied sexually by just one. I would call it a "learned behavior". Like B F Skinner's rats pressing the levers for food, or for an electrical stimulation to the brains pleasure centers, so too we keep prowling for sex.

Sex is a very powerful reinforcer, and because we are on partial schedules of reinforcement we keep going back for more. So, in a way, yes we are hooked or addicted. The correct scientific terminology is "conditioned".
If we repeatedly have good experiences then the prowling behavior increases and we become very addicted, or "positively conditioned".
If we repeatedly have bad experiences then the prowling behavior slows down, and then perhaps extinction sets in. In other words, the prowling behavior will stop. Negative conditioning.
But then you meet some hot girls, you are once again aroused, and if the sex is good this time, then you hooked again.
Those of you who have studied "behaviorism", "schedules of reinforcement", or "operant conditioning", will understand what I'm talking about.

For reasons beyond my ability to explain i noticed that there was a real difference in the tenor between the bullent boards of different cities on this site. This was initially brought to my attention when i did some research for my trip to Melbourne last November. Used to the material you typically find on the Beijing bulletin board i, foolishly, expected similar information. Clear and rational information to assist with a wide range of different mongering requirements – instead i was subjected to pages and page of information-less diatribes of various mongering experiencing, which if written well may at least of been entertaining, but which typically spanned one or two paragraphs of self aggrandisement and was not written well. When a minimal amount of information did come down, such as “Club XYZ” in “ABC street” has a good supply of freebies – it turned out to be incorrect or so vague as to be impossible to find.
Thinking about this i realized the Bangkok bulletin board was also filled with this type of vague information, however you can still find some gems of real information their. I also noticed on the Bangkok board a great deal of insulting behavior and general useless opinion (So much that one of the worst offenders was sentenced to his own area where his activity would not fill the real bulletin board with garbage.)
It made me think about the different demographics between these locations. Beijing is not really a mongering tourist spot, in the same way that Bangkok is, although that is changing slowly. Thus most of the contributors are folks who work in Beijing, ipso-facto, are reasonably well educated and more mature. On the other hand you will getless mature or less well educated folks going to Bangkok and it seems Melbourne as well, who come and go, provide minimal useful information and at best provide an entertaining story about their experiences.
Of course i should point out that you can find information about mongering establishments in Bangkok and Melbourne by simply looking it up on the web. This type of stuff is legal in Melbourne and is effectively legal in Bangkok. On the other hand this type of activity is definitely illegal in Beijing – so my story comes full circle. Actually prostitution is more than just accepted in China. Officially it can't be fully legalized for political reasons, but the government at high levels is debating how making it legal to protect the girls. In Shenyang the first "Tezhong Fuwuzheng" (Special Service Licenses) were issued a few years ago because of high unemployment. This then spread to Jilin and Heilongjiang. I talk with several police and court officials on my travels and the policy is prostitution is tolerated since it doesn't harm third parties. What is illegal is pimpiing or providing a place for prostitution, but there is nothing that can be done if it's a relationship just between a guy and a girl. I lived in a city 14 years ago and because I speak Chinese, I often needed to bail out the mongerers who had been arrested - so I got to know the local police very well. Damnit. I just wrote a very lengthy report that didn't get uploaded and now it is lost. Well I don't feel like writing it all over again so here is the summary. I am new into town, just got in yesterday. I went to look for BBS's and found quite a few but they all seemed like legit ones since there they all had at least 1 person inside getting either a cut or a perm. I was looking around the Buy Now computer center because I had originally planned to go there to buy some computer accesories but I got there late (9pm) and it was already closed. I walked in some random directions for about 20 - 30 mins before I decided to take a cab to Lido.

After a while, she finally left but then another girl came knocking a few momemts later. I finally caved and got another girl for 50 rmb extra. I was in Beijing last summer. The experience was almost identical to yours when I visited a BBS near Chaoyang Park. I post a detail report about my visit. If you had done some homework by reading through the posts in Beijing thread, you wouldn't have spent 400+ on a HJ. For 600, you may get a take-home from DEN, Maggies or Hard Rock Cafe. In Beijing, it is hard to get a good FS in those BBS.
Unlike other northen cities in China, in Beijing it is hard to get a FS in those sauna places either unless you want to try those high-end ones. It will cost you anywhere from 800 to 1200 chinese dollars. For that kind of money, I rather go to Maggies.
If you don't want to spend more than 400, you may need to find your luck among those SWs.

You have to master the art of negotiation in China. It is very good training actually. This acquired skill has helped my job back home. You always have to nail down ALL the variables, the deed, the time, the money, the quality, etc. If you don't, you will be reminded later, as in your case. But I'm sure you can afford to buy this and the next few lessons.
Be nice to the girls, but don't be too nice (in another word, be firm). Some of them need to be told to get out. Frequently you need to pretend to walk before they'll come to your terms.
Here are some price ranges to keep in mind:
Washing hair about 10-20 rmb
Body massage in Falang about 50 rmb

HRC is a 15-20 minute taxi ride. Also consider going to the China World Shopping center. If you go to the Starbucks you can always find a FL.

Clubs> Dont worry about your coat. Back in my prime, I found that the clubs like banana which involve the serious clubbers, dont seem to be as good for one night stands. I've stayed there for five days, once in 2003 and again in December 2005. On my 2003 trip (first trip to China, quite a newbie) I was offered a young girl by the Sauna Manager for 1000 RMB, when I saw her I immediately okayed it. Went back 2 more times during the stay, each time a dif girl for $1000, well worth it to me at the time. Each was very young, very slender, and frankly makes me stiff just thinking about them. On my last trip, with my girlfriend from Beijing with me, did not take advantage of the services but I am quite sure they still exist. There is a KTV in the building, I believe the girls I had in 2003 were KTV employees. There is a warren of little comfortable fucking rooms connected to the sauna facilities.

Alrighty guys here is my first report. First off in the reports of distinction Forum Sammy_T's Beijing report is very handy. 1st night went to HRC fairly sparse selection and the guy girl ratio was not so good. At the taxi stand near starbucks are usually some laidies walking around as aggressive individuals. they will come right up to you. Also, during the warmer weather they will sit outdoors at starbucks. I am not sure if they will hang out inside starbucks. I have heard they do but have not seen it. Also I have heard of a baskin robbins nearby that is usually heavy with ladies.

Next time you can try at 8-10pm, some of them will be sitting in and others just hanging outside (maybe not these days - freezing cold).

I've stayed here two times, 2004 and 2005. The sauna does have legit plus extras available. In 2004 I met a sauna girl who I hit it off with and she came to my room for overnight at quitting time for 1000Y. She had to sneak up the stairs at 2 am since visitors after 11 pm are forbidden. That was about 14 or 15 stories walk! It was a real GFE. She stayed two nights and even took me out to lunch the second day. In 2005 I hooked up with the same girl, same price, same deal, she only had to walk up 6 stories this time. I've also used the service rooms connected to the sauna for 800Y. Negotiate with the manager. I wouldn't call this anything near a GFE, slam bang, more like a BBS. I wouldn't do it there again for that kind of money. The overnight was great though. Well, I set off to Gongti Bei Men tonight in search of freebies. I first went to Vics.. but didnt' stay long. Perhaps about 20 - 30 mins max. BBS that offer special service normally have the 4 Chinese Characters 休闲洗头
on their glass doors and also may have the other windows block out with Curtains. Some even offer hair cut services.
Whilst those that are truely legit Barbar shops are those which have bright open windows or glass doors and sometimes even lots of lady service attendants that are not dress to kill or make up to kill types. But they will still invite you in.
I found this is true for most cities in China.
Actually I was in Guangzhou just over a year ago and I got my haircut. The place was legit in terms as that they had sinks, clippers, mirrors and a hairdresser. They also had three girls sitting on a sofa looking bored.
I went in, got my hair cut and as she was finishing the owner asked if I wanted a massage. I agreed and went into the back room with one of the couch riders.
A lame excuse for a massage ensued, promptly followed by an offer for a handjob. I agreed. The experience and effort was pretty souless. If I remember correctly, fs was not in the cards.
Anyway these hybrid joints are seemingly pretty scarce and when you do find them I would just not bother with extracurricular services. Their strategy to diversify their core business is not an effective one and should be rethought. Perhaps they should consult the services of McKinsey and Co.

VICS is just inside the north gate of the workers stadium - close to the Outback Restaurant.
MIX, my memory failed me in my previous post, the correct location is its across from VICS (the old korean whiskey bar). I have not been in it since it changed names so can't comment on what its like. The old place was very local.
The disco/bars i provided directions for was the ROCK & ROLL, MOON SHANGHAI & LOFT - directions are - If you walk out of the north gate of the workers stadium turn right. You will cross 2 sets of lights when you come to a bunch of large buildings with a driveway on your right (before Centry Plaza Hotel) - this will lead to R&R. Note - these establishments are reasonably local, although it has been a while since i went their so it may have changed.

The MO can be different by city, by district, by shop. As a general rule of thumb, if you can get a haircut, you cannot get FS, but this is not universal. Another general rule is, that if they only have massage rooms on premise, you can only get a HJ, maybe BJ, but this is also not universal since many BBS in Shanghai offer FS onsite, whereas, BBS in S. China, normally provide rooms off-premise. And finally, if they have rooms available off-site or allow take-away, you can usually expect the full nine yards. If they do not even offer you a massage, chances are slim of any special service whatsoever.
I just ask upfront to avoid disappointment. I am pretty direct about it, but you can do it in a subtle way with the same result, as well.

Had a couple of days in Beijing and spent 2 nights at Maggies. Got there around mid-night and was surprised how packed it was. Has this changed recently? I had already been to the new Maggies before, but never seen it so crowded. Luckily, the number of girls still seemed to outweigh the men, and I noted quite a few stunners amongst them.
My main reason for going to Maggies are the Mongolians. I can't exactly tell what really attracts me about them, but I somehow find them more honest and true. Hope you don’t get me wrong on this. I had great moments with Chinese girls, too, but I often have great difficulties to judge their reactions and what they really up to. With Mongolians, I find this much easier, and I usually can build up something like a relationship, even if it is only for a few hours. Never had the same feeling with Chinese or Russians … but again, this is only my personal perception, and certainly not intended as a general statement about Mongolians vs. Chinese or Russians.
The 2 Mongolian girls that I took home on 2 nights were great fun. The first, a mid-sized Russian-Mongolian girl with a compact, but awesome body would usually not have been my type, but she approached me in very nice way with a good balance of being aggressive and tactful at the same time. The heavy kissing started already at Maggies and continued in the room. In the beginning, she was a bit too pushy to get the deed done, but slowed down immediately after I asked her, and seemed comfortable with this during the next hour (in my experience there is nothing worse than a girl, that wants to finish immediately, but has been asked or even forced to slow down). To my surprised, she made no attempts to leave after the action and simply went to sleep with the arms around me. She kept that physical contact throughout the whole night, and we finished the morning exactly how we had started the evening. We had agreed on 800 RMB, but I tipped her 200 RMB for staying over to the next morning without the slightest attempt to renegotiate the fee.

Also she decided to stay over, and I was already looking forward to waking up next to her in the morning. The morning, however, turned out to be disappointment. A few questions to the experienced mongers amongst you: what is your experience with girls staying over to the next morning? Are you usually having another round in the morning, or are they simply leaving them without much interaction? Do you negotiate up-front about having 2 rounds? I usually do not, since I feel that staying over can be very difficult for the girl, if she doesn’t like the guy. So I usually wait how things develop and let them happen.
Also, I noticed that both girls stayed away this time from giving blow-jobs, which was a bit strange, since this was always part of my last encounters? I finally located this new Russian Night Club, its very clsoe to the John Bull Pub. If you walk out of the John Bull and cross Guanghau Lu, turn left and take the first lane to your right (about 10-20m) which i think is Chaowaitou Tiao. About 50m to your left you will come across a new high rise, the night club entrance is at Ground Level. I have not been to this establishment yet and can only repeat what my russian friends have told me. It opened back last november and seemed to become the club the russian girls from hollywood go to if business was slow - normally late. Its first real crowd was christmas where it was packed (this was immediatly after Hollywood was raided and closed for a night or two). It closed down for the quiet period between Xmas and the end of Chinese New Year and will re-open some time in Feb. Attached are some pictures of this place.
If anyone visited this place late last year please give us your opinion - otherwise once it opens again i will post a full report.

Once again Maggie's was having quite good selection of girls. After some time of looking what Maggie's has to offer made my mind. Desided to take away one small blonde russian girl. Location : Wangfujing Grand Hotel. Level 3. As you enter the lobby you will find a lift to your right and to your front. There is often a well dressed lady in front of the lift. Do not go to the normal residents lift, the rear entrance is blocked off. You will also often be propositioned by girls who hang around the lifts and enter them when you get in. Talk about fast takeaway. Once you get to level 3 turn right and follow the curved path until you get into the club.
Layout : If you get in early there will be a RM60 entrance fee, if you get in late the entrance is free. The club is large, with a large stage and cat walk in the centre, surrounded by high tables and stools.
Entertainment : There will be a mix of fashion show and singing by various Philippine singers. The girls dance well and are rather sexy – its worth while just to give the show a go once at least. You can have a girl accompany you, the cost of RM400. I think all will go back to the hotel room with you – you need to do your own negotiation.
Summary : Easy to find, clean safe and the entertainment is OK. The girls seemed nice, however as was previously noted in the forum the cost is not low, although no-where as expensive as a typical high-class KTV like diamond age. I would recommend it to newbies who are not too keen on wandering the streets at night.

Was at Hollywood yesterday, just to find out that everything was extremely slow now before the Chinese New Year. For those curious to why Russians tend to be less friendly and inflexible to negotiation, while Mongolians are more flexible and prepared to spend more time with you in the bar talking or fondling, the answer is in the system.
Russian girls working in Hollywood, or Absentia, or the restaurant next door, pay their "tour official" $US2000 per month for the privilege of working. In addition they need to buy a $US200 pass per month for unlimited access to the above establishments. If you do the maths, the girls need to get about 2000RM a night in order to make a reasonable profit - this takes into account days taken off for obvious reasons and the cost of accommodation and airfares. This is why a LT is 2000RM.
The reason why ST is 1000RM is that typically its difficult to average more than 2 shots an evening. Hollywood normally starts at 10pm and ends at 12midnight, thus the girls have 60minutes to be "requested", go to the hotel, provide the service and get back again. On quiet nights this is impossible. The back-up locations are the restaurant next door or absentia - but these places are far less busy and its hard to get even another shot during quiet periods - but they need to try. Its also easier to get a long stay at RM1000 if you pick the girls up from these locations.
The Mongolians seem to be another kettle of fish, to the best of my understanding they do not pay any-one for the privilege of working, thus they can get a good return on 1 shot a night, and they are very flexible. (As my friend found out at 4am two nights ago with this gorgeous tall thin Mongolian with light brown hair).
So what is the conclusion here - during busy times where there is a high probability of getting lots of shots in a night, be prepared for quick service and minimal negotiations (for the Mongolians). During quiet times late in the evening you have a better chance of getting a nice long stay at the ST price, or less with the Mongolians. So perhaps its better to select a LT during busy times and accept the additional charge. During quiet times take the girl out late in the evening and you can get a good long stay at ST prices.

First I must say that the information on this forum has helped me enormously and I like to thank you all for your info. Now's the time that I'll share some of my experiences. I'm chinese but i've been living mostly in western countries which means i can speak chinese and english when mongering, hehe and I'm in my early 20s.
1) The street walkers around the great wall sheraton which is basically right outside the hard rock cafe are not so good in my opinion. I've tried 3 from there and I can say that they definitely do not offer a GFE. Its just undress, bang and leave, thats what those street walkers are like, there are exceptions, but how can you tell? The price is 200rmb for 1 shot, I can say that 99% of the street walkers there will do it for that price. Also most of the girls there are about a 5 or 6 in looks. 1 other thing, they speak almost no english so you gotta somehow express yourself.
2) The place in wu dao ko (there is a train station there) which has been previously reported. Its in tower C level 3, it is about 200metres south of wu dao ko mcdonalds. The place offers massages, hj, fire ice and FS. You can get FS there for 500rmb (which is what I negotiated to, you might do better). All you gotta do is make it clear to the girl (mamasan) at the reception that you want FS.
The place has a few rooms, if you want FS you'll likely get the best room which has a big bed, a shower and tv, the environment is quite ok and the place seems clean. During chinese new year there are only a few girls and the girls there are about a 7, you might find a 8 or 9 if your lucky. The girl I had offered a GFE and gave bbbj with fire and ice. Theres really no set time, last time I spent nearly 2 hours with the girl so who knows whats the limit.
Final thing, this place is located in an office building, make sure you go to tower C as there are towers A and B. Once you reach level 3, look down the hallway and you'll see some red lights and decorations, thats the place, the rest of the level is all office people, quite strange.

Last time when I was driving by Hard Rock Cafe I did see a goup of 7 - 9 young girls standing outside of Hard Rock Cafe, they were all in the age of college student, but they were certainly not dressing like college students. At first I didn't think they were SWs because they did not walk. After I was circlling around a couple of times, I realized they were there for being picked up. But there were so many cars that had parked along the sidewalk, and they were standing on the other side of the sidewalk, it was so hard to pull over to even have an eye contact with those girls. I've been reading for a long time, but haven't really contributed. Hopefully you can forgive me and accept these few tidbits.
1. I visited one of the massage places across the street from the Holiday Inn Lido last week and ended up with a pretty good deal. I'm sure the girls were desperate for customers, so they offered 50RMB for a massage. I almost passed, but decided to go for it. The girl was short, face about 7 with a 5 body. The quick massage started and then we got into what the other options on the menu were. From what I learned, HJ was all, but I suspect more may be offered. If not there, then maybe after work. Price quoted was 150RMB, which I accepted. Soon after another girl walked in, similar to another poster's experience, but after much conversation, I asked the second girl to leave. Anyway, the HJ was not rushed and the girl was friendly. Total damage = 150RMB.
2. Past reporters have asked about the Charming Baby Club. I happened to be in that area last week, so I took a look around. Whatever used to be there is not there anymore, so don't even bother.

If you walk by, just walk slowly like as if your sight seeing, those SWs will definitely approach you. A clear sign that they are street walkers is that they'll actually be ON the 3rd ring road and not the footpath but sometimes they are on the footpath, im sure you can tell who they are, its obvious.
Remember 200rmb 1 shot, you might even get a lower price if lucky but remember the quality is shit in my opinion. 1 other thing, the girls may sometimes ask for up front payment on the street, dont give it to them, just give it to them at your place or at their place. I'm not saying they'll run away, its just that you may get a better service if you pay later.
These SWs only get half of what you pay, so if you pay them 200rmb, they get 100rmb and their pimp gets 100rmb. They told me they need the pimps otherwise the pimps will bully and hassle them. So if you want really cheap girls, you could get their numbers and contact them in the daytime without their pimps knowing and you'd get a better deal. These girls usually live alone or with another girl in a 5metre x 5metre place
But in the end i dont recommend these SWs, there shit in looks and shit in service, only cheap but still not worth it, pay a couple of hundred more for better look, better service.
The chinese name for hollywood is pronounced "chee shin dao" say that to the driver. If don't know, its on ritan road pronounced "li tan lu", tell the driver to go towards north on that road, its about 100 metres north of "ya bao lu" on your left. "ya bao lu" is perpendicular to "li tan lu"

Well, after a failed attempt at chasing a really cute office lady (office girl?) civilian, I'm back on the scene after about a five month layoff.
The places have been dead because of Chinese New Year. I went to The Diamond Age two days ago and The Pig yesterday. The Diamond Age was totally empty. I was literally only the person at the place. I think timing is very important because I went there around December 30th, and it was empty then as well because everyone had gone back for New Year's. (Man, these xiaojie really take their vacation and leisure seriously!) Literally nobody in the place. On the other hand, the place is really nice, the atmosphere and decoration is quite excellent, and it's a pretty sophisticated place to drink an expensive beer, even in the absence of xiaojie.
The Pig had some people, but they mostly appear to be 35+ years old. Sorry, but that feels weird for me unless you've got an ayi fetish. Also quite flooded with punters. So, competition is high for low quality. Nah, not this time.
I really hope things start picking up soon. Things seem pretty dead these days. I'm looking for quality and am not averse to paying a high price if the quality is commensurate. It seems like the consensus seems to be that The Diamond Age is (after the shutdown of Passions) the place with the hottest girls in Beijing, but both times I've been there there has been a quite apparent lack of any girls whatsoever. So I really hope it gets better soon. Any other "premium" places people have discovered these days?

I have tried this great sauna near Wudaoko a couple times. The massages there have been the best in my short career. It's north of the Xueyuan Lu/Chengfu Lu Intersection, on the eastern side. Bright mirrored place. Definitely classy, but with classy prices.

Decided to check some of the other bars and try a for few freebies. Came across a new place in South Sanlitun, Browns, which i had heard rumours of pole dancers/good looking girls dancing on stage. I don't know exactly where the Loong Plaza is, however there is a sauna place just off the Huilongguan exit of the expressway. If you're going northbound on the expressway, get off at the Huilongguan exit and keep going north on the little side road. Go past the bridge and then after a few hundred meters there will be a small road that goes off to the right. If it's night time, keep a close eye out, because the road is not well lit. Turn right and then look off to the left (north). You should see a big red sign with the Chinese character for shower "浴". That's the place.
Of course, all this might be tough to manage if you don't speak Chinese. In that case, print this post out and show the following to the taxi driver: "请去回龙观出口附近的洗浴中心. 出了回龙观出口以后接着往北走几百米, 然后往右转." ("Please go to the sauna near the Huilongguan exit. Get off at the exit and keep going north for a few hundred meters then turn right."
Sauna/shower routine + massage, catbath, FS, etc. for a little over 800 RMB if I remember correctly. I don't know to what extent any of the staff there speak English.

Friendship Hotel is very upscale and the surrounding neighborhood is quite upscale and proper. It does have a massage service in the hotel and they will come to your room, but I have no idea about price or level of service. I was not able to partake in-room. The massage in the studio is strictly on the up and up.

I was in Beijing a few days ago. I totally agree that this type of aggressive painful negociation totally takes away any pleasure from the service - but i must admit i tend to have more problems in shanghai while have minimal issues in beijing. My caveat is i know beijing well, so know how to avoid the bad places - while in shanghai i do not have as much experience. I think this is the key - as soon as the girls think you may not know the system well - they try and rip you off - especially around the lido. My strong advise is as soon as it gets annoying, leave - or for these BBS's just say you only want massage and no extra.

I know how you feel - i had a scare last year (turned out to be nothing) but during this period i did a lot of study of these type of nasties and it did turn me off the whole mongering thing for a while. Had drinks paid for by a friend so not so sure about the prices but i got the impression they were pretty good.
Overall, a good night which would have been superb if seated closer to the show but definatley will be returning.

sidFollowed this recommendation last night with a mate just out of interest. Place really seems to be nice, but yesterday the place was empty. Food is not bad, bottle of TT is 15RMB, so quite cheap. Show starts at 1am (!), so I assume we were just far too early (around 9pm).
Definitely a good place to have dinner before going ahead for Maggies or wait for the show.
Btw. the place was empty, but all the seats near the stage were quoted as reserved, so I assume the place just starts going late.

Yes, forgot about Herpes - also watch out for blow jobs without condoms, sometimes the cold sores can be Simplex II and not just garden variety Simplex I. I agree with intransit - if the girl does not insist on using condoms - then its likley she rarely uses them and may not be very well educated - so sometimes it is a good idea to pay a bit more for a bit of safety.

Treasure Island is located 2 doors north of Hollywood. If you are facing Hollywood that would mean it is to your right. Ritan Fandian will get you to the Ritan Hotel, which is North of Hollywood. The street it is located on is called Ritan Lu, and it is basically at the intersection of Ritan Lu and Ritan BeiLiu, the North West corner of Ritan Park. The new Maggies is located at the South, Center gate to Ritan Park. If you were to walk from Maggies to Hollywood/Treasure Island you would exit Maggies and walk West. Turn Right (North) when you get to the next major intersection. You will see Hollywood on the left (West) side of the road.
I have not been there yet, but Intransit and I plan to do some detailed recon work next week, and we will post our results!

I read an article yesterday that stated that it was 10 days every year.
Recently I was in Beijing for a few days and did some explorations. I notice that home-style “health centres” that are targeting non-Chinese speakers are popping up all over the Chaoyang district. They normally advertise in such free publications as “Time Out”, “Where” and even a Japanese magazine. In Soho City (south of China World Hotel) alone I counted three outlets, and in Sunshine 100 Apartments on Guanghua Road (east of China World) there must be at least two.
So one night I decided to check them out, after calling up a few places on the phone first. My first stop was Tower 14 of Soho City. It seemed to me that the area (probably from Tower 10-Tower 16) was quite deserted – there was no one around except for a few security guards. I had to go through the underground parking lot to access the entrance into Tower 14. I pressed the intercom, and the guy in the apartment opened the door for me to get in. I took the elevator up, and had a feeling that the building was only recently completed.
The guy who answered the door was the same one who talked to me on the phone. He was a very soft-spoken guy, very gentle and polite, and could speak decent English. It’s hard to image that he’s actually a pimp managing a four-bedroom apartment with probably five to six girls. There was a small reception area with a couple of sofas and a bar. Down the corridor, behind a curtain, were four bedrooms (the biggest one being a suite) and a bathroom. There was no customer around. I went into the suite, and saw a mattress placed on the floor in the middle of the room. On one side of the mattress was a large closet, and on the other a night stand. The bathroom was nicely decorated and had a bathtub and other standard facilities. The towels looked new and clean. There were also dried flowers around, supposed for taking a flower bath.
This place (I forgot its name now) advertised a certain 468 yuan royal massage treatment which is really a “double-fly” (i.e. massage by two girls). I asked him if full service was available, and he explained that he would give me discounted price of 400 yuan for the massage service, but that full service would be provided by one of the two girls at an extra 600 yuan, making a total of 1,000 yuan.
Given that the whole place seemed quite clean and comfortable (though not luxurious), I thought the price was acceptable. So I asked him to show me the girls. A couple of minutes later the two girls walked in. They were totally unacceptable. First, they were not that young – probably 22 to 27 years old. The taller girl (who would provide full service) was plain ugly and I really could not image myself fucking her. The shorter one was quite fat though her face looked okay.
I asked the guy to show me other girls but he said they were all out doing house calls. He said he’s got a 19-year-old free-lance girl who’s very pretty and could be available in about half an hour. I didn’t want to wait around, for it could easily take an hour, given the state of Beijing’s traffic, even if it was after 9pm.
So I left and walked over to Tower 3, where the Spring Health Centre was located. This area (Tower 1 to Tower 9) had more pedestrian and car activities. When I got upstairs a girl was just leaving the centre, presumably on a house call. She ushered me in, and the receptionist brought me a cup of tea. The masseuse confirmed that I was the guy who had just called, and explained that all masseuses were out except for one who’s in a room with a client. She then left, leaving me alone with the receptionist. I was shown around the apartment, which seemed to have four bedrooms and was also quite nicely but not luxuriously decorated. No photos of the girls were available. Given the quality of the masseuse who just went on a house call, I was not keen to stick around or even anticipate a visit.

The following night I went to a large sauna establishment that advertised itself on some Chinese websites. Named Haishang Yinhe (galaxy on the sea), it’s located off the xxxx road near the West Station, right behind Zhong Tu Building (belonging to the China Civil Engineering Group) and a few blocks away from Beijing Xinyuan Hotel. This place occupied the whole of a four-storey building (plus basement) and had a nightclub thrown in. Apparently there was also a swimming pool though I didn’t get to see it. Given the routines here (as will be evident later) it seems that you have to watch the nightclub show in your pajamas. The specialty here is an underwater ballet show performed by some bikini-clad girls in the huge fish tank on the first floor. Unfortunately I came too late for the underwater show, which would be staged at 6:30 every night. The nightclub shows apparently finished at about 10pm.
I was first shown downstairs where the locker room and shower/sauna facilities were located. I was told that I must change my clothes in the locker room, but could have a shower in my massage room as all rooms had their own shower facilities. So I disrobed, put on the pajamas, and went upstairs. On the second floor was a small clinic where “dick maintenance” is available. This was actually offered by the same chain that I found in Xian. As I said in my Xian report some months ago, the “maintenance” program apparently involves dipping your dick in a Chinese medicinal solution, assisted by passing through some low-voltage electricity. This is supposed to enhance your sexual prowess. A tall and pretty girl dressed like a nurse stood outside the clinic. I asked the waiter to get me some younger and nice looking girls, and he said that he would be fined 100 yuan if he were to make any recommendations. So I tipped him 100 yuan, and he got me a line up of three girls to choose from. Still, the three were not acceptable. Then there was another line up of three. Among them was a cute little girl that was actually quite sweet and attractive. I also figured that since I had already seen 10 girls, obviously the problem was that there were very, very few nice girls around.
So I decided to go for her. I then asked her to join me in the shower, but she said she was just a masseuse and would not provide full service. Dismayed, I asked the waiter to get me a few full service girls to choose from. Another line up of three was again formed, at least one of whom I had already seen. But still all three were unacceptable. Clearly, it was a bad night for me. I gave up, and asked for the sweetie again, settling for a handjob instead.
The sweetie came back. I asked her to rub my back, but she would not take off her clothes, saying that masseuses were not allowed to take off their clothes.
