Considering the massive amount of investments Japan and now Korea are pouring into China, the corollary is services of all kinds have been set to serve these burgeoning communities in cities like Beijing, Qingdao, Dalian, and others.
Of course, these services also include our favorite kind. I've know that there are Korean sauna/massage places/health centres that are set up exactly like their Chinese counterparts, similar pricing and services as well. A lot just hire local Chinese girls but some do bring in Korean girls from Korea, Chinese-Korean, and even NK is possible. I'm just having a hell of a time figuring out where the action is.If I had the funds, the time, and the language ability, I'd spent my waking hours figuring this out!
In the meanwhile, I'd appreciate any brothers who could point me in the directions of places where I could go fishing for Korean/Japanese pros/non-pros in BJ. Any experiences or suggestions?

Japanese - i must admit never coming across a japanese provider in beijing - actually its hard enough finding one in japan - most of them are korean. As for Korean, there is a nice half Korean/Russian girl in hollywood and i have come across one North Korean who has spend about 15 years in China, who is available as an escort. Русский Трактир is the common way of saying Russian Restuarant, with Русско meaning russian, and Трактир meaning restaurant. However i have since discovered that ресторан means "The Resturant", with Русский Ресторан also meaning Russian Restuarant. I am not sure of the difference between these two statements, except perhaps Ресторан is a more snotty way of saying the same thing as Трактир - perhaps a common/proper noun thing.

Those Beijing United doctors are at it again! They've created a message board for lost Maggie's girls. You can find it near the notice board where they have all of the baby pictures. Was in Hollywood last night for 20 minutes. Paid Rmb40 for entrance (!?!?!? monday night, did i get ripped?) which I thought was quite a cheek as the place was quiet. I'm staying at the Crowne Plaza and it is very girl friendly - no looks, no following, very pleasant. I stayed at the Kempinski about six months ago - they noted down the room number and charged an extra 15% room rate for the night for company.

i found one with 380rmb for room including unlimited beer plus 200rmb tip for each girl plus 100rmb for waiter. for the simple ktvs rep001tered all over the city, 380rmb fo r the room including drinks seems to be the normal price, anything above should include some "extras" (could also be english speaking girls, above average beauty, etc.).
my friends however told me that it is a good idea to check the pricing before settling down.

Strange, I went to this KTV twice before few months ago. I didn't had this problem... I remembered asking for the prices before agreed on sitting down. The first time the Manager nicely explained to me the prices and showed me that the rooms, drinks, ladies drinks prices on the menu displayed on a Stand-up board sitting on top of the TV. The rooms are 1000RMB consumable . Which means whatever drinks you buy or Fruits plates, etc... comes up to be 1000 in total, you don't have to pay a cent more, besides the tips to the girls and Waitress.
The only incident which I had was on my second time there, the Manager tried to ripped me off by saying the rooms are 1500. However when I told him that the first time I was there its 1000, he than try to say that 1000 is for the smaller room. I started walking towards the door saying that I am going back to my room to sleep, he than ask if I am a hotel guest, I said yes, and immediately the price became 500!
So, may be your problems was, you did not asked or negotiated the price before you started and you are not staying in the hotel. I bet you, if you tell them you are the hotel guest and you are calling the Hotel Manager, they will cut the prices down.
Have any our fellow member had similar experiences there?
BTW: In both times, my KTV girl came up to my room after closing hours (2am) for LT just with extra of 400.

The only other place to add is Pig and Whistle/Thistle at the Holiday Inn Lido. Usually, it's the same gals from Maggies. They hit the Pig first till around midnight when they pack it up and head over to Maggies (at least the non-Chinese... but see note below). First off, many have the kind of bodies that look and feel just right. Overall, between natives and Mongolians, I will usually go with the latter in Beijing.

I recently visited Beijing and followed the description povided here by Mojo888 (see post #3468)
I went to the first place described there.

I was back in over the weekend. Turned up at about 3am so I was worried about falling asleep on the job as I was very well served.

1) Search the forum on what you like to have in Beijing
2) Get a map from the hotel counter. If you don't read Chinese, ask for English ones.
3) Beijing city has main rings roads are rings around the Palace. Look for the North/East Third Ring road.
4) Look for Landmark towers/Hollywood/ etc....
5) Get a card of the hotel you are staying in.
5) Get on a Taxi with the map and point to where you want to go on the map to the taxi.
6) Arrive there and have fun.

The easiest tour for a newby in beijing, if you are by yourself, is to try the grand monger tour. About 8:00pm get a taxi at your hotel and ask for the Lido Hotel. At the hotel (you will normally be dropped off at the back) walk through the corridor until you get to the Pig & Thisle Bar. Drink until about 9pm and enjoy the ambience. Then get into a taxi and go to the Hard Rock Cafe for a meal - or you can try the Hollywood disco (next door to the Ritan Hotel). Kill a few hours and head out to maggies about 11pm. You will be entertained for the whole night.
Sebastian My is spot on. His tour should will work even if you do not speak a word of Chinese, and be both entertaining and keep you out of trouble. I would like to add the following information:
The Pig opens it's doors at 5 pm, and they have a 2 for 1 "happy hour" until 8 pm. There are always a few girls there early, but they really do not start to show up in force until around 9:30 pm. It is a good place to meet up with your workmates and share a beer, and then decide what you will do for the rest of the evening.
After happy hour is over I would suggest simply walking down the hall to the Texan restaurant. The Texan is located in the Lido, right down the hall from the Pig. They cook a decent steak, and take international credit cards for those of you on an expense account (all be it with international prices). If you want Chinese food head out the main lobby door and keep going straight until you cross the street. There is a Sichuan restaurant that provides good food and good service for a reasonable price. No credit cards, but you can get an official receipt (fa piao).
After a relaxing dinner you can check back in at the Pig. By this time some girls should have shown up and you can decide to stick around for a while, or move on. If you want to hit the Hard Rock, The Den, or Hollywood I would suggest you wait until after 11 pm. Again, you will find some girls in these places earlier, but a majority do not show up until after 11 pm. You will have to pay a cover charge at all 3 locations, but there is no cover at the Hard Rock on Wednesday nights. After an hour or so you can head to Maggie's.
Maggie's is a late night spot where most of the girls end-up. I would never go there before 11 pm, unless you just want to sit and buy drinks for the Chinese girls who work for the bar. Maggie's will typically stay open until everyone leaves, and I have stumbled out of there as the sun was rising on several occasions.
By the way, I have now been to Treasure Island twice - once very early, around 7 pm, and a different night at 11 pm. Both times it was totally empty. The night I stopped at 11 pm I walked over to Hollywood and it was packed with Russian girls.

If your mean a lot of hair around the pubic regions, most of the northern local girls are reasonably hairy as they never shave or trim. I finally pulled my finger out and checked this night club out, and i must admit being quiet amazed. It was like i was transported to some eastern European country, even the staff tried to speak to me in Russian.
I posted directions to this club a while ago, but the address is #10 Yabalolu, Chaoyang, in the basement of the Huasheng Building and very close to the post office. Its within walking distance of Hollywood or Maggies.
There is no cover charge and you will be escorted to a seat. Its modern and new, typical of a high class eastern European disco - which unlike Chinese disco's has little chrome - the main focus being on large psychedelic visual displays. The dance area is surrounded by typical eastern European tables and chairs, almost as if you were in a restaurant. (This is typical in Russians clubs and bars, no stools and little standing room, everyone is expected to sit at tables as if they were in a restaurant – the same thing can be seen at Hollywood disco as well.)
I went on a Sunday, so it was not very crowded, but if this club is typical of Russian disco's, the action will start after midnight. The girls at Hollywood tell me they go to this club after midnight, when business at Hollywood has dropped off, so this backs this theory out. This also looks like a basically legit club, with the Russian providers being an extra. The staff spoke to me in Russian, so i assume most of the laowai clients are Russian. About 11:30 on the Sunday there was a number of Chinese looking girls and a few tables of Chinese looking men, so there is clearly a mix as well. I also suspect some of the Russian girls are not providers (only a guess) as i saw some girls actually dance – something unheard of in Hollywood disco.
As i know the girls from Hollywood come to Absent after midnight, i know its possible to obtain the services of a willing Russian girl, so if you want late night Russian this could be the place to come. When i have more time i will check it out on the Friday or Saturday evening.
Also, as an added bonus, if you are feeling homesick for the motherland, you can view Russian TV programs, which look like they are live, and which seem to feature lots of programs about the rich and famous in the US.
Quick Hollywood Disco update, its been very busy theses days, so i think the normal winter slow down is coming to an end. The place was totally full of Chinese guys on Saturday and Sunday evening and i saw for the first time one of the model types has come back. I also noticed that the mama-sans are back in force around the great wall Sheraton. I checked out the sunshine club (Wangfujing Grand Hotel) last evening and i have to the report the floor show is no longer very sexy. Compared with last January its a real bummer - so my advise is to use this place as a selection agency (pick you girl and get the hell out, no point hanging around). Its looks like the pig is still a hit and miss affair - damn. I have found the best girls are part timers - but they only come to the pig when they need some extra cash, or when they think some high rollers are in town. I think the pig needs a web cam, so you can check out the action before you get in the taxi for that long ride out (and i normally stay in GuaMao - which is on the correct side of town, but still a pain in bad traffic).
As for the HRC - i know a lot of you guys love it, but i have never really enjoyed it. The girls you can get from the momma san's in the parking lot can be a lot better, and far cheaper. Decorations are quite nice about a 4 star rating. 1st floor is sauna, showers, hot pools, changing room. 2nd floor was restaurant. 3rd floor was rest area room where they show movies and where you can get a real massage in a dimly lit adjacent large room with many beds that are separated by curtains - I know it sounds bad, but it actually was quite nice on this floor and had we had more time, I would have tried a massage when we were done on the 4th floor.
The 4th floor is where there are private rooms and where you get the 1-hour full service for Rmb504. When you get to the top of the stairs you will find a counter where the wait staff sit. Turn around and look in the window of the door behind you and you will see the "massage" girls with numbers on them just like in Thailand. Choose the one you like and away you go to your room. If they try to stop you form looking in that room to choose your own, then just ignore them which is what I did. Quality of looks of the girls was pretty good - about a 6 to 8 range and the service level was around a 7 for my massage girl. Her # 829. Nice rack, sweet personality and good service. That's really weird. I'm Asian, and I've never had a problem getting in, back when I was actively seeking. (Semi-retired now because I'm in a steady relationship.) They would never pull any lip with me and just ignored me and let me walk in. The first time I came, they asked me about the membership card, but when I told them (in perfect English) that I was American and I was told that I didn't need a membership card, they let me in without further ado. Didn't look at my passport, because I didn't bring it. After that, they've basically ignored me. Maybe they remember me. I certainly think they would never deny entry to someone who's clearly a non-native Asian, so you just have to make it clear. The worst thing an Asian-looking person could do to get in though is talk to them in fluent Chinese. That probably sets off their "native Chinese guy" alarm. So no showing them how awesome your Chinese skills are unless you want to get hassled. Telling them in English, "But you guys let me in last time (even if there was no last time) without any issues, what's the deal this time? " is probably the best thing you can say if hassled or confronted.
In fact, maybe they're relaxing their policies a bit because the last time I was here, I saw a clearly native middle-aged Chinese dude (I. E. Not Americanized or Canadianized Chinese guy) in there playing with the bargirls. He was throwing down mad money at the bar, so maybe they like him for that, but clearly, you don't have to be white to get in.

99% of the time, it's not a problem. Frankly, I think this guy is just being an a$$hole about it. He knows me. There's no doubt about it. When I was stopped the three times:

On the left side of the entrance lobby is the cashier counter.

About a 100 meters or so before you get to Dongzhimenwai Dajie, to your right, will be the Sauna & Spa. It has a big fancy entrance with lots of lights and also a big entrance lobby. On the left side of the entrance lobby is the cashier counter.
If you go too far north you will see the sign for another sauna spa and then after that the intersection of Chunxiu Lu and Donzhimenwai Dajie with Pizza Hut located on the north east corner.

have you ever wondered what the economic imperatives of becoming a prostitute is, the following may provide some interesting thoughts. edlund and korn wrote a paper on the economics of prostitution, where they made some interesting findings.
prostitutes are generally young, uneducated and female. it is a low-skill job that has few upfront costs. but prostitutes make more money--in some cases much more--than working girls who, well, work for a living. this holds true even in places where prostitution is legal and relatively safe, so it can't just be that hookers are being paid more because they run an increased risk of going to jail or the hospital. so why do hookers make so much money?
1. prostitution more common in poor countries? one obvious explanation is that prostitution falls as women’s income and opportunity costs rise. what’s less obvious is that prostitution falls as men’s income rises, too. ... because to some extent—here come the nasty emails—wives and prostitutes are substitutes, with prostitutes being what economists call an “inferior good”. as income rises men prefer stable marriages over occasional hookers. and this has policy implications: the best way to reduce prostitution may be making both women and men richer, rather than legal penalties and informational campaigns.
2. edlund and korn admit that spouses and streetwalkers aren't exactly alike. wives, in truth, are superior to *****s in the economist's sense of being a good whose consumption increases as income rises--like fine wine. this may explain why prostitution is less common in wealthier countries. but the implication remains that wives and *****s are--if not exactly like coke and pepsi--something akin to champagne and beer. the same sort of thing.
3. in 2002, a pair of economists concluded that *****s make so much more than their working-class peers because they forego the economic benefits of getting married. but how much more do they make?
a) medieval france - in 15th-century france, prostitution was legal--and lucrative. an ordinary agriculture worker earned two blancs (the currency at the time) for a full day's work. a hooker could make that much in an hour.
b) imperial japan - in 1934, a geisha earned more than four times what a factory girl could make. prostitutes did even better, pulling in nearly seven times more than a working stiff. plus, geishas and prostitutes were provided with room and board and weren't breaking any laws.
c) nevada brothel, early 1970s - prostitution was--and still is--legal in much of nevada, provided it is confined to brothels. in 1973, a prostitute made $350 per week, rent-free, while a typical service worker made $3.36 per hour, or $135 per week.
d) west germany, early 1980s - in 1981, prostitutes in munich made between 50,000 and 110,000 deutsche marks per year. the average annual wage in west germany at the time was 25,175 deutsche marks, so working girls were making a very nice living indeed. prostitution remains legal in germany.
e) los angeles, early 1990s - street prostitutes make less money than the higher-priced call girls, but they still make more money than young women with similar qualifications and skills who work in many service-sector jobs. a sample of 1,024 street prostitutes conducted between 1990 and 1991 found that streetwalkers made $23,845 per year, while female service workers made $17,192 per year.
f) quebec, 1993 - male prostitutes are much less common than female prostitutes, and they typically earn much less as well. according to a study conducted in montreal comparing prostitutes with hospital orderlies, 75% of female prostitutes--but just 35% of male prostitutes--earned more than c$50,000 per year. still, it pays better than some medical work; no hospital orderlies in the study earned more than c$50,000 annually.
g) spain, 1995 - different types of prostitutes earn different incomes. in barcelona in the mid-1990s, a high-end call girl, who typically serviced just one client per night, made the equivalent of $1,000. in a low-end brothel, prostitutes made as little as $300 per day--and worked much harder. still, even the lowest-paid ***** was making decent money, when compared with many spaniards. average annual income in spain in 1994 was just $18,799.
4. notwithstanding jerry hall's quip when she was married to mick jagger, about being "a maid in the living room and a w***e in the bedroom," one normally cannot be both a wife and a w***e. "combine this with the fact that marriage can be an important source of income for women, and it follows that prostitution must pay better than other jobs to compensate for the opportunity cost of forgone-marriage market earnings," edlund and korn conclude.
5. still, the economic analysis of marriage explains one age-old phenomenon: gold digging. "in particular, does our analysis justify the popular belief that more beautiful, charming and talented women tend to marry wealthier and more successful men?" wrote becker. his answer: "a positive sorting of non-market traits with non-human wealth always, and with earnings power, usually, maximizes commodity output over all marriages." in other words, yes, supermodels do prefer ageing billionaires. and gary becker proved it mathematically decades before the donald married melania.
6. another question is, why is prostitution more common in areas with high migration? the authors’ note that one cost of being a prostitute is reduced value in the marriage market. most guys won’t marry ex-hookers. prostitutes can avoid this cost by hiding the fact that they’re prostitutes. frequent migration helps do that, by avoiding a social reputation. and that’s exactly what we see.
7. "sexual gratification, cleaning, feeding and other services can be purchased, but not children: both the man and the woman are required to produce their own children and perhaps to raise them," he wrote. as with becker, a key differentiator in edlund and korn's model is reproductive sex. wives can offer it, *****s can not.
while these comments are of interest, they fail to explain a wide range of factors, such as, why is the mongering experience different in places like china and the us. lets start by looking at income per capita, as listed in

the next factor is how much more do working girls earn. based on the examples above this ranges from 8 times to 1.5 times a normal income. however some of the comparisons are per day and some per year. its unlikely a working girl will ply her trade for the entire year, so lets look at the daily values of 4 to 8 times normal income - with the ratio being 4 times in western countries and 8 time in non-western countries. assume a 5 day week and we get the following estimates.

japan $572.00
korea $215.08
thailand $39.08
prc $19.85
philippines $18.00
lets now compare this again standard behaviour, the girls of las vegas typically want $100 for 30min (the girls who wander the casino floors do anyway). assuming 6-8 jobs a day we end up with $600-$800 per day - assuming las vegas is not a big city and this seems to match up with the expected daily income of $636. as for china, the average cost tends to be rm800 for a long stay, so basically $100 a day, not a match with the above. the numbers for thailand almost makes sense, with an average girl from issam would typically only get $70 for a all-night in bangkok and probably a lot less outside bangkok.
the one conclusion i can make from this is that there are a lot of local conditions which need to be considered. in china the english-speaking girls versus the non-english speaking girls, in thailand the almost 2nd class non-thai citizen verses real thai, and so on. so unfortunately using the conclusions from the various economic white papers do not provide accurate guidance on pricing, but do provide some food for thought.

Recently visisted this place, its on Maizidian Lu in Chaoyang.Turn right after the Hard Rock Cafe, before you get to the Lufthansa Centre car park (which is currently under construction), go straight for about 200 m and when the road makes a kink to the left, it's right there on your left. You walk down the stairs and someone will take care of you. The Mama I met spoke good English.
Not sure about all the pricing, but I basically took the private room option with two girls for RMB 2,100 all in (one would have been 1,500 in the private room and 1,100 when using the common showers and then taking her to a room). Not cheap, but worth it. Two cute and eager 22-year olds first shower you, then give you a nice massage, including ice-cube on your back etc and then mount you one after the other. When the deed is done, you get another nice massage, all in a well-appointed, although no longer that fresh room. It's generally clean, but the carpet could do with some proper hovering, for those of you put off by a couple of stains here and there.
I found a sauna during my last trip to Beijing. I was taking a walk and noticed some lights behind a building and a few parking attendants. I walked in a realized it was a sauna.
Full service was 600rmb. Everything was in Chinese, so I could not understand was was offered. It is a rather large place with a pool and lots locals doing what looked like the usual health club activities.

on the southern part of Dongsanhuan Nan lu (3rd ring road) is the King Wing Hotel, and the Best Western Hotel. This is on the west side of the freeway.
From the hotel walk north until you get to the first road.
There is an overpass going over it(part of Dongsanhuan Nan lu). Cross the road turn right. Walk past one or maybe two buildings and then turn left between the buildings and you will see a small parking area and the openning for the sauna.

On Dazhalan, Qianmen, right to the left of hotel Jing Yu Yuan, there is a massage/sauna place. First time I was there I only wanted the 'Health massage' (38 RMB) for my sore shoulders, but in the end of the 40 min. session a second girl entered and offered herself for 200 RMB in another room.
Next time I took the sauna and scrub first (24 RMB) and then directly asked for a girl. It thought the first girl they brought looked OK. She asked for 500 but settled for 300. Friendly but limited service: no french kissing or DATY.
It seems that foreigners nowadays can stay at the hotel; maybe I try next time to ask for a girl up to the room.

To me, DEN seems just a regular western style restaurant. A small bar is next to entrance and there are few tables inside. The night when I was there, a group of men and women were there having a small party. They seem a group of co-workers. The charge on the den is for newbies and people they dont recognise. I have personally never paid to get in there and know the guys pretty well. I suppose seen as a pint of draught is only 25rmb, you aren't getting ripped too badly although during happy hour (5-10pm) its half price drinks and pizza. If you can get your hands on a BDRC Gold Card (300rmb, one off payment, no expiry,) your looking at one of the best deals in town with 50% off pizza and drinks 24/7 (also free entry to Vics nightclub).
As far as the "deal" in the Den goes, If you say it was quiet then you probably were there through the week and yes, on a bad day. The weekends are generally very busy with a selection of both P4P & freebies on offer upstairs, dancing (although majority P4P). Ive never taken out of the den since well before the old maggies closed down from over the road and the mongolian traffic became less congested in there. Personally, I dont go to the den specifically to monger. I use it as a very convenient place to get very cheap drinks (BDRC Gold Card), cheap pizza, watch sport and then have the opportunity to check out whatever might be lurking in the corners. Also a very good breakfast if I was too pissed/skint to pull in maggies :D:D
Yes, the chances of a single girl in the den, being on the game, are pretty high. All it takes is a bit of eye contact and you should be able to work it out.

If your a regular, and have been for some time, you will probably have came across a gold card for free or even just enjoy the reduced rates without one. However, the club often do sign up days which allow anybody to become a "sociable" member of the team and for 300rmb they get the card.
You mention 10% off? is that a typo, cos everyone I know with a card gets 50% off and it even says it on the new cards.

IMHO, The best places to go on sundays are exactly the same places as any other day of the week. Obviously they will be slightly less busy, but there are no places in particular which are "sunday only" mongering venues.
I was in the den again on sunday, and there were quite a few mongolians coming and going at least until I left at nearly midnight.
I would say that the most popular night off for the girls, should they choose to take one, is sunday or monday.

I forgot to add, that in the note that she left for me, she said that she was able to find her wallet in the hotel lobby bathroom that afternoon, but that she lost her cell phone in the taxi on the way back to her home. Just to add to this, even though your passport (mine is US, but I'm not sure about others) isn't a "get out of jail free" card, you'd be surprised how much trouble you can get out of because of it. I've seen fights in the streets, bar brawls, and a lot of white collar crimes (extortion, fraud, embezzlement) that ended up with no prosecution against the foreigner aggressor because Chinese police considered it too much paperwork and time-consuming to prosecute a foreigner. Now remember that you definately CAN get prosecuted, but if in some unclear situation with the police, don't cooperate and pretend you understand zero Chinese and have faith no police will torture or beat you. This has helped me out of certain situations that potentially could have become troublesome in the past.
So Chop Stick is right when he states the best thing to do is walk away from these girls, but be careful you don't get a beat down from a group of Chinese guys. In that situation, your passport will make prosecuting these Chinese agressors just as difficult as it is vice versa for them to you....ha ha...

Just to add to this, even though your passport (mine is US, but I'm not sure about others) isn't a "get out of jail free" card, you'd be surprised how much trouble you can get out of because of it. I've seen fights in the streets, bar brawls, and a lot of white collar crimes (extortion, fraud, embezzlement) that ended up with no prosecution against the foreigner aggressor because Chinese police considered it too much paperwork and time-consuming to prosecute a foreigner. Now remember that you definately CAN get prosecuted, but if in some unclear situation with the police, don't cooperate and pretend you understand zero Chinese and have faith no police will torture or beat you. This has helped me out of certain situations that potentially could have become troublesome in the past.
So Chop Stick is right when he states the best thing to do is walk away from these girls, but be careful you don't get a beat down from a group of Chinese guys. In that situation, your passport will make prosecuting these Chinese agressors just as difficult as it is vice versa for them to you....ha ha...

Yes J, but we are not talking about a KTV ripoff in Guandong province. The student Tea-House ripoff is a different thing. This girls work for a local Laoban who gets 50% of the money they make. The students come from rural area and have poor backgrounds. I even know the BingGuan where they stay (Laoban pays). I dont think its good publicity for Beijing if a Laowai gets beaten down after visit a teahouse in Zhushikou or Wangfujing.
And by the way i went 2 times to the teahouse and paid 200 RMB each time. 1 girl i screwed and the other one became my "facial-partner" for 2 weeks. Live and let live ;)

For those who want an sauna experience near the Lido Hotel, I've discovered one on Jiuxianqiao Rd. in Dashanzi (FFI, the Lido Hotel is in Dashanzi part of BJ). They offer FS for 500, a very special massage (licking, breast massage, blow job with candy jelly in girl's mouth) for 600. Not the fanciest place, but clean and decent. Good staff. Nice ladies. Has showering, sauna, etc.
Also has a KTV that looks cheap and some nice girls. Never tried that.
The thing I like about this place: generally very nice girl selection. A fixed program of services (as described above in the RMB600 program) that is the same for each girl. Girls change frequently. Only one time did I find girl selection lacking, and even then, they had one very nice one.
Directions: From the LIDO Hotel front gate, make a RIGHT. Go to second light (Jiuxianqiao Rd.) and make a RIGHT. [Jiuqianqiao Rd is the road that Nestle/ABB offices are on; it's the road that you automatically get onto if you exit on the Dashanzi exit off the airport highway road.] Go down for around 5 blocks (?); just a few doors down from the Post Office--which is on RIGHT--you'll find a small sauna, also on the RIGHT side of road. [note that about 100 meters before this sauna, there is another sauna on the LEFT side of road. That is also decent, but last time I went only offered HJ for about RMB350.]
SUGGESTION: negotiate for RMB600 for "total package". Don't let them add for sauna/shower/room fee. Otherwise, the bill will come to RMB700+ They will gladly give a lower "pengyou" price. Talk to manager about this.
Again, thanks to the recommendation of Sid. Managed to get #18, a cute girl from Sichuan I think. Their HJ service are with tops on, as describe in earlier post. Nevertheless, the selection seems not bad, and the damage is only RMB 160.

I found a sauna during my last trip to Beijing. I was taking a walk and noticed some lights behind a building and a few parking attendants. I walked in a realized it was a sauna.
Full service was 600rmb. Everything was in Chinese, so I could not understand was was offered. It is a rather large place with a pool and lots locals doing what looked like the usual health club activities.
I rejected the first lady, as she was not a looker. The second one was lovely and very gfe.
The directions are the following:
on the southern part of Dongsanhuan Nan lu (3rd ring road) is the King Wing Hotel, and the Best Western Hotel. This is on the west side of the freeway.
From the hotel walk north until you get to the first road.
There is an overpass going over it(part of Dongsanhuan Nan lu). Cross the road turn right. Walk past one or maybe two buildings and then turn left between the buildings and you will see a small parking area and the openning for the sauna.
Please let me know if anyone finds it.

Ok, new to this forum, and I spent the last week RTFF. Sounds like a lot of good hobbying in general, but I was wondering what Sunday was like specifically. I found a couple of reports on Sunday, but I could not find a general summary of the best times and places for Sunday. The reason I ask is that Sunday is the only day that I will have some free time.
Can anybody help out and give a definitive recommendation for Sundays in Beijing?
Bejing, unlike Shanghai, has no real off days. Most of the laowai mongering spots have reasonable service all week. In fact its sometimes better to go out on sunday because there is a better supply/demand situation. Most girls typically take monday or tuesday off. So the Pig, HRC, maggies, hollywood are all good on sundays, as are the street services at china world or sheraton. If disco's are your bag the story is different, most are very quiet on sundays.
Visited Beijing recently and checked out Maggie's on a Tuesday night around 1-3am. I usually monger in BBSes, saunas, and occasionally, a KTV in other major Chinese cities and in other places in Beijing.
So this was my first (and probably last) experience trying to "pick up" working girls in a bar. Maggie's was especially strange b/c the hottest girls there actually seem to expect us to work to attract them! Almost all the girls in the bar were working girls, either SPs or Chinese "waitresses. " One of the main reasons I will go for an SP rather than picking-up babes in a "legit" bar or club is that the SP is hassle-free. There really should be no work required. In a BBS, sauna, or KTV, I can just pick the one I want, and she's mine. No need to work on the pick-up. But in Maggies, the only workers who approached me were the uglier or older ones (though this may just be because I'm an ugly Chinese guy! ). So I actually had to work up the courage to approach the few hot ones. And when I did, they gave me attitude! WTF! I had to work to attract them. If I'm going to put in that kind of effort, I'd prefer and would be better off doing it at Vics or Suzie Wongs or some legit pick-up club where the girls are younger, hotter, and not "used" (I. E. , not having sex with a different guy 6 nights of the week). There were even guys in there acting like they were "all that" just because they had a couple of Mongolian pros with them. Geez, I could get those girls just by waving Y1000 in their faces. Get a life, guys. We're giving these girls way too much power over us. If the guys in that club (some of whom were good-looking and well-dressed) were to put that much effort into a pick-up at an expat club, they could get hotter, younger, and less slutty pussy for free! Granted it's a lot easier doing pick-up in Maggies than in legit bars, but you shouldn't have to put any effort at all into any pick-up when you're shopping for an SP. The fact that I had to work to get these girls and then to actually have to pay Y600-1000 to take them home was shocking. Stop supplicating and pandering to the attitude of these Maggies SPs. We shouldn't have to work that hard to "pick-up" SPs, especially in China where the options are plenty.
So after I left Maggies, I headed to Vics, put in about an hour in a pick-up with a group of 3 young hotties, and was able to convince one to go for a late-night snack, and from there, to my hotel room. She hadn't been with a guy in over a month and was crazy enthusiastic in bed.
The Beijing mongering scene is unique in this way: Most of the posts (until recently) have centered on SPs (primarily Mongolian) in bars like the Pig, HRC, and Maggies. For some guys, picking up girls in a bar may be second nature, so there's no need to "work up the nerve" to approach a hot girl, keep her interested in the conversation, etc. For these guys, having to "pick up" the SPs in Maggies may be no big deal. But if these guys are such "naturals, " they could save themselves Y600-1000 and get a fresher girl for free at a legit club.
For regular, or introverted, nerdy guys like myself, the Maggies environment can be intimidating and confusing. It shouldn't be this hard to get hooked up with a prostitute, especially in China, where if you've got tight game, freebies are readily in reach.
If you don't want to invest the time and effort into the "pick-up" at Maggies, go to a sauna (xiyu). There have been some good reports on saunas recently on this thread. And this is a good trend. I was only in Beijing for a little while, but I visited 3 saunas in the North 4th ring road area. They were all quite safe, and they charged Y600 for FS, including fire and ice BJ. In my taxi going between Maggies and beisihuan, I spotted no fewer than a dozen 24 hour saunas that I'm certain had FS for around Y600. Let me know if you want the info on the north 4th ring road saunas (don't know how many of you out that far north). You don't need to know Chinese to get serviced here. You just need to know that you should be able to "zuo ai" for no more than Y600. Just tell the towel boys you want a xiaojie, and ask them the price. If it's too expensive, just walk out, and try some place else. You might have to pay the nominal sauna fee (Y29 or so) if you used any of their regular facilities. But it's relatively risk free (don't ask a taxi driver for recommendations on saunas, though--see my earlier posts in the Qingdao section).
If you're really strapped for cash, you can get FS in a BBS for Y400 or less. The Wangjing housing complex (Wangjing Xincheng) has tons of 24-hour basement BBSes that offer FS for Y400. I had a great 1. 5 hour GFE at one a few months back. You can also do take out from these places.
If you want a freebie, you can meet English speaking Chinese girls in the expat clubs. I probably shouldn't be telling you this since that will just make the competition as these clubs stiffer, but I think the brothers here should be apprised of the other options.
Some guys prefer Mongolian girls because they are supposedly more buxom (bigger t&a), but from what I saw in Maggies, these guys just haven't seen enough Chinese girls.
I think it's about time that the Beijing ISG forum got a lot more diversified and stopped focusing on the Pig-HRC-Maggies Mongolians. There are far easier and more efficient ways of getting better poontang in Beijing. Kudos to those who have been posting on saunas recently.

However, according to the reports from ISG, Maggie’s is the place, where, for sure, you won’t go home with empty hands. But other places, it is kind of hit-and-miss. For the people with only a few nights to spend in the city, Maggie’s may be the best place to have a taste of “Chinese food”.
You are so right! Beijing needs to be further explored for its mongering scene. The big city like Beijing, there got to be talents working somewhere. We need people like OAH in GZ, AG in Shanghai. We do have someone like SB in Beijing. But it seems he is almost a Beijing local and has his own suppliers that are waiting in line at his door steps. What I was wondering is where SB’s talents are when they are off of work for SB. Let’s go through those “Hutong” to find them! I tend to agree and have been scouring all the places i can to find other sources of hot chinese bird bars and i must admit i have had minimal luck. (Best source of chinese are off the street, KTV's and disco's - and i suppose massage places, but thats not my thing so i have no first hand experience)
I think most of the monger's in beijing live here or spend a lot of time working here, so they quickly find a number of regular girls they just privatly call when they need to. They go to bars for a bit of variety (i.e., mongolians). This is only a guess. (That is certainly what i did when i spent most of my time in this wonderful city)
But as for maggies and mongolians, the alure seems to be their skin which is very pleasant to touch, there larger breasts (some guys like that), their low cost (while they try to get a lot of cash, they often are cheaper) and the fact they are often wild in bed (spirit of mongolians warriors i think).
Also remember the girls in maggies typically go for laowai guys - so if you are chinese that could be the issue (again only a guess). (The russian girls in hollywood goes for chinese guys and ignore us poor laowai's - so you can always try that as a sure thing).
The issue with the disco's and bars such as vic's is it really can be hit and miss and it can take a long time to get a girl. Its also noisy etc. But i must admit i hang around those places a bit looking for talent also.
So, in summary don't worry, find what is comfortable and stick with it. As for increasing the variety on this board - i am all for it - post your reports of new hot places (So i can try them).

I'm puzzled as to why you say the "best sources of chinese" are off the street, KTVs, and discos. Are you talking about freebies? If so, why are you including KTVs? Are you talking about SPs? Then why are you talking about streetwalkers and discos?
You also say you have no experience with massage parlors. But what about saunas or BBSes? These three types of venues (plus a fourth-the KTV) are the standard sources of SPs in China. See the various detailed "guides" to Shanghai and Beijing and the south in the "reports of distinction" section, although the ones on Beijing are dominated by the Pig-HRC-Maggies route and need to be updated with sauna, massage, and BBS info.
The massage places in the back of "That's Beijing" are generally located around Guomao, and can be visited as in-calls (and of course out-calls). Some of them are quite luxurious places with whirlpool baths, etc. They generally offer 60-90 min. FS for Y600-800. Just call them. A bunch of them have English speaking managers (or friends of managers). Personally, I think you can get a better deal at the saunas, where for the same price, you also get a free legit foot massage, use of the standard facilities (sauna, baths), and possibly a back scrub.
There are so many saunas, massage parlors, and BBSes in town, that to begin a rundown on them would take several pages. We've really just scratched the surface.

I want to check out the suburbs of Beijing this Summer. Right now i dont have enough time coz too much work. I want to start with south Beijing with the road to the Marco Polo Bridge where i saw a lot BBS last time i went there with the bus. Anyone living in Beijing and speaks decent chinese can pm me, then we could go together and explore.
I fully agree with Xiangjiao's report, Maggie's is odd and so are the other venues mentioned. However, they do have one advantage over "legit" bars: It is relatively certain that you find what you are looking for, while at places like Vics/Mix/Suzie Wong/All weekly new openings/all clubs at worker stadium like Babyface, etc., Bar Blue, Pouchers, and in general all places where westerners like to go, this is not certain at all, and if you have limited time, you just have to take the trade off.
Some experiences:
- AFF, I never believed that it really works, but it does. However, consumes time in building the relationship. Bought 1 month gold membership and got 6 freebees out of it.
- KTV, I found some girls there which visited me for fun, but again, its a hit and miss, and SOME basic chinese is really recommended. In fact, I had a really nice and exciting party at my home when I invited 2 of these girls and they brought a couple of friends ... :-)
- Streetwalkers around Wangfujing, Kempinski, etc... cheap, usually no LT
- Legit bars/clubs are easy for me for picking up a girl (34, not too fat, not too ugly), but depends on your social skills not on your wallet, and when I look at some guys in Maggies (some!), I doubt that it would be easy for them as well, not even always because of theirs looks but more due to their behaviour. But again, with this option you can not expect to drop in there and after 20 minutes you go home with just the girl you picked. Hit and miss AND: if it is a normal girl, there might be all kinds of additional problems, like not getting rid of them any more, they asking for serious relationship, guys feeling guilty in case lied, etc...
However, at the bottom line I fully agree with this report because the BJ prices are too high and there are not so many alternatives discussed here:-)

Based on my previous posts I guess you can say I am a Pig-HRC-Maggie’s kinda guy. Like everyone, I am always on the look out for new places, and I truly enjoy the sauna scene. The problem is, I experience the same feeling XiangJiao had at Maggie’s when I approach a sauna or bbs. Even if there is someone at these places that can speak English, as a white guy who does not speak the language I am automatically given the highest price on the menu, and a many of the cute girls will not consider going with a foreigner.
The same thing is true at the “legit” bars like Suzie Wong’s or Vic’s. Trouble getting in, ordering a drink, paying your bill, getting change, ect. You have to negotiate all of this before you even have a chance to talk up a girl who may, or may not, speak English. Even if she does speak English you will probably only be able to carry on a very simple conversation. Not much of an opportunity of sweet talking them into bed. If you do get them into bed after a simply conversation and a couple of drinks I would say that they are probably just as “used” as some of the girls working for a living.
I truly sympathize with the Asian-American guys that cannot get into Maggie’s, or get the cold shoulder from the girls at the Pig. You guys have a bad wrap because most of the Asian men in China cannot afford to go with the girls at these places. In addition, I have heard several stories (too many to count) from girls that say Chinese men like to beat them up. I am not pointing the finger, just repeating what I have heard from girls that I have known for several years. From the girls perspective it is simply safer, and more profitable, to invest your time with a foreigner. These stereotypes can be over come, and when I am out and about I always do my best to introduce new guys around to the girls I know to help them out. Unfortunately you are fighting an uphill battle.
I still stand by my origional recommendation for the Pig-HRC-Maggie’s connection for the non-Asian hobbyist visiting Beijing.

Opps, need to clarify. The easiest supply of chinese girls to go back with you to your room, for someone who has minimal language skills in mandarin, is the above. Yes they all require money for there services, i am not talking about freebie, which are best sourced from various contact web sites. The language barrier is an issue.

I have visted many massage places around guomao in the past, which is where i normally live, but as i have a room where i can take girls back - i tend to prefer take-out - which i have checked out before i get them into my room. I still go to massage places in cities like bangkok, which are different - but typically don't try them in china these days. As for BBS, how could i forget them. Again they normally don't provide take-out and i do worry about the lack of hygene in some of them, especially around the Lido.
But for bars where you can find willing young women, there is not that much choice - worst luck. But i will keep on searching.

I have got very little experience with chinese saunas and spas etc, and until some very clever guy decides to open one which resembles a BKK massage parlour (ie, fishbowl, bar, drinks, food, one simple reason for going, english speaking papa's & mama's and girls which have some degree of english,) then Im afraid I wont be going in a hurry.
I have a particular place in Wangjing which I enjoy for the occassional HJ and I do speak very highly of it. However, given the location, which adds another 60rmb in taxis fares, and the fact I only get HJ, I still usually prefer FS with a WG for maybe 1-200rmb more.
I must add that as far as Vics is concerned, I think this place is crap!!! Full of foreign girls who are stuck up their own arseholes as well as chinese "dudes" who think they come from the Westside. Unless your willing to act totally out of character and tag along with the whole false pretense, this is not a place to monger.
This thread does need some diversification but I hope it will not be overrun with reports of chinese saunas which are useless unless you speak chinese.

Try the Travelodge (Lido) - its about 20min from the airport and has a pickup bar on the ground floor, more BBS's than you could poke a stick at within 5-10min walk and i am sure some sauna places. You can also look at the adverts in the Thats Beijing magazine for a number of place which do home delivery.
But Bangkok, Beijing is not, some investment of time and energy is required for a truly good time in this city.
Observation about the Girls from Hollywood.
Its peak season again at Hollywood, with more Chinese guys looking for laowai flesh than i remember for a long time. Unfortunately i missed the new batch that came in about 2 months ago, so they all have lots of pubic hair, that weary i don't give a crap feeling, and the i need to maximise my revenue because i go home soon attitude. However even with all that they all provide what i have to admit is the most professional service in any city i am aware of in Asia (with the exception of some high-class local Thai-massage/sauna clubs).
These girls are experts in what it takes to get a guy to come in the minimal time frame (so as long as you aware of this, and you keep on thinking about taking the rubbish out, you can get a truly exciting long term experience).
The other thing i like about these girls is the way they will keep on trying until you are satisfied - there is no - your 30minutes are expired, give me the money and good buy attitude.
However you will not get the girlfriend experience unless you spend a lot of effort getting to know one of them. (I have done this and its worth it in the short term, but they all go home after 2-3 months, so that its not a good long term strategy). Also, until you start talking to them they all look like there are angry, unhappy or just bored – which makes judging attitude real hard.
There are two model types which have been coming to beijing for about 2 years, i have never seen any of them ever smile or look happy – so i always avoid them. But last night i saw the cute blond model from vladivostok actually smile and laugh last night – and it made her look 100 times more gorgeous. If i see her smile a second time i will give it a go and hope she has good attitude.
It's probably just me, but am I the only brother who finds the Beijing forum kind of "unique"? Why is it that in almost all the other major cities in China (I haven't checked all the threads) ISG members have little trouble negotiating their way around saunas? It seems that only on the Beijing thread are certain senior members unable to use enough Chinese (or sign language) to get an awesome experience at a sauna. (btw, can someone explain in plain language how to use the quote function?) I think I can help you here. It's actually quite simple at an expat-oriented bar like Suzie Wongs.
(a) To get it in after 8 or 9 pm, you need to pay cover. Here's what you should ask: "Menpiao yao duo shao qian?"
(b) Then you need to learn how to recognize the sound of numbers from 1 to 10, 100, and 1000. All the other numbers up to 9999 are made up of combinations of these numbers ; )
(c) When you order a drink, just use the drink menu, which they should bring to you. Choose and point. No talking required. Or you can always say, "Gin and tonic." They all understand that one.
(d) When you pay your bill, they will tell you a number or show you the bill. Just pay the amount.
(e) They should give you the change without you having to ask. If for some reason, you must ask, say, "Wo yao wo de lingqian."
There, you only have to learn the numbers and two simple Chinese phrases, and you're set!
As for how to pick up a girl in a bar, well, that's a whole other bag. There's plenty of advice online. Try googling Manic High's Pick-up Guide. That should lead you down the rabbit hole ; )
So the conclusion for me based on the very helpful input from fellow mongerers is that the Pig-HRC-Maggies route is not a good deal for you if you
(1) Speak Chinese beyond the most rudimentary level
(2) Are of East Asian descent
(3) Are looking for a hassle-free, anonymous mongering environment.
(4) Would like to avoid the stress of having to approach girls in the bar/club scene
(5) and do not have a particular fetish for Mongolians.
I wish some brother had pointed this out to me earlier.

(please tell me you know how to ask how much something costs). There are some reports of guys in Shanghai having wonderful sauna experiences who relied on sign language and used almost no Chinese. You can have those same experiences in Beijing (minus the red rope, as far as I know, but then again, I'm not even based in Beijing) at roughly the same prices.
I for one certainly hope this thread will no longer be overrun with reports of the Pig-HRC-Maggies route and other mongering bar environments where the girls are entitled to give guys all kinds of attitude b/c they know the guys are desperate and the guys think they have few other options.

I appreciate your advice and I agree a little Mandarin goes a long way in these places and also creates a little bit of a novelty if you're a Western guy like me speaking some Putonghua. In my experience, the street saunas in Beijing don't seem to be quite as "in your face" as they are in Shanghai, and certainly Hong Kong, where's there's one, or a few, on every block seems like. How about giving us some of your favorite spots in BJ? Much appreciated.

One thing that I find about saunas is that if you are going by yourself then it can be intimidating, boring and not as fun as a bar situation (like Maggies or the Pig.)
Chinese guys normally go to saunas in groups of at least 2-3, this is much more fun than being alone, and you have more bargaining power if you think you are getting overcharged or under serviced.
Plus if you are going to a sauna that you haven't been before then until you know the manager you can't always except to get real info about the skills etc of girls involved.
Also I agree with Sid that the sarcastic response was odd.

As with all challenges in life, sometimes the only way to overcome is to get out and try. Most places have set prices, so go to a place that has been subject to a FR here, so that prices are known, and enjoy.
In my experience, a visit or two can stimulate both the need, desire and ability to learn Mandarin.

But I'm coming to town next week, and I thought I'd check in to see what's going on in the scene. I guess my only question is this : if you are such a stud and can pick up chicks at Vic's with no problems, you are obviously a player, who really knows how to charm the ladies. I agree with those who dislike the sauna scene. Reclining and relaxing in a room full of naked pudgy chinese guys who are smoking up a storm is not what I consider foreplay, even if I am getting a foot massage. The lounge chairs are almost always nasty, the towels in the shower and steam rooms are nasty, and I don't like locker room boys staring at my dick. The only time I really ever enjoyed these places was when I just wanted to bust a nut, and then I just went in and went right into the rooms. I do know of one great place a 5 minute walk from Oriental Plaza that is waiguoren friendly, and you can even be one of those idiots who can't order a drink at an expat bar - they'll still take care of you. I'll turn on my PM later today if anyone wants more details. I posted details a long time ago about the place.
I also have to disagree with those who seem to dis maggies - maybe I need a new pair of glasses, but I'd say the majority of the mongolians in there are fine looking. There's usually a handful of girls from the "stans" too - and some russians too. Maria, for example. It's also got decent prices for beers, and good music.
Anyway, to each their own. I do plan on going to maggies when I am in town, if just to hang out. I'm still out of the scene, but I could very well fall off the wagon when I am there. I'm also keen to go to HRC and track down CiCi - the sexiest dancer on the planet. If you've ever gone there and have seen the chick who is always dancing, usually by herself, and has hip action that is should be illegal, that's CiCi. Saw some of the threads re Sauna & KTV vs Maggie & Pig etc.
Must say that despite not speaking much Chinese at all, I always found the former much more interesting. In particular in a KTV, you sing and drink with the girl and can check out the chemistry before you commit to anything. And the quality is typically much better, too, in my view. Truth be told, I always go with local friends, but I am sure most folks who live and work here have some local friends or colleagues that would be happy to take you along. At least try it for the cultural experience, which of course is the only reason I do it.
Anyway, recently went to the above KTV, located in the Hotel Parador (?), a Howard Johnson, near the Beijing Main Station (ok , I know there are several, so just check the hotel name). It's just an escalator up from the hotel lobby, nice and new set up and a great selection of girls. Prices are as usual, i.e. abiut 1,000 - 1,500 RMB for a room plus 300 for each girl in tips. Take out is 1,500 and then includes the girl's tip. They can arrange a room in the hotel for you, no record, just pay 650. Not cheap, but easier than sneaking a 20-year old Dalian hottie past your wife ... Tried to raid the mini-bar afterwards, being the cheapo that I am, thinking since there's no record, I might as well (I had also considered taking the flat screen TV, but lacked the proper tools), but was stopped by the otherwise very compliant and shapely girl.
On Maggies and Asians, the Chinese bar girls actually loved one of my Korean friends so much, it was embarassing ... now they don't usually go out and just want you to buy them drinks, but some of them are highly amusing. Met an English Literature grad there once ...
Also heard about a hostess bar where they have girls from the various acting and drama colleges ... this of course is the stuff of legends, but it does exist, but i can't remember where. Apparently no take-out though, unless it's after-hours and she likes you, so you have to crank up the social skills, which are easy to forget given all the easy options available.

Also noticed about 2-3 guys who appeared to be Indian?(not a prejudice just a guess) having a really good time down on the dance floor. It was extremely clear that the girls were paying little attention to them but they still seemed to be having a laugh. Would be interested to hear an FR if they are members.

I'm just telling you how easy it really is.Even if you can speak the language you are never treated as a local. I have found there to be 3 price levels for ALL items in China - one for the local Chinese (and those that can pass as local Chinese), one for a foreigner who can speak the language (50% to 100% higher), and one for the tourist (200% or more higher than what the locals pay). I have been living in Beijing for several years, and I do speak enough Chinese to get by (I can also get by in Mongolian). While I enjoy living in China and working with the Chinese people, for the most part they view a foreigner as a pay day, someone of whom they can take advantage. Read any books on doing business / negotiating in China and it will tell you the same thing - in China there is no "Win-Win" situation, in order for the Chinese to maintain face with their management it must always be perceived as "Win-Loose," and the Chinese must always be on the winning side. Asians will not see this as often as a Westerner does - the things the Chinese say about a forigner when they think we do not understand the language is truly insulting.
I personally visit saunas outside of Beijing (see my post on the Chengdu thread), but I have yet to find one that is reasonably priced in Beijing. Why pay $100US+ at a sauna for 1 pop when I can pay $100 to take my favorite Mongolian girl all night? If you have a wife at home then it is a different story. At a sauna you can have the girl right there.
In my mind the goal of this forum is to share information. This entire board is in English, and for every one person posting a message there are 10 (or 100) lurking. Beijing can be very intimidating due to the language barrier. It is for this reason Beijing is still considered a "hardship" post by the US Embassy, and many international corporations. I assume that anyone who can read Chinese will be looking for information on a Chinese language site, thus I cater my advice to those that are new or on a one-time visit to Beijing, and cannot speak the language.
That being said, I visited The Pig, Hard Rock, and Maggie's on Monday, and had a fantastic time. A friend of mine once told me that the best part about being at Maggie's is that it reminds him of his high school days - only this time around he is the captain of the football team with all of the girls hanging around him, instead of the geek in the corner being ignored. In a bar I can chat up several different girls and find one who has a personality I like, in addition to a nice body. In a sauna I may pick someone who is beautiful, but a dead fish. Actually, I never pick the best looking girl from a sauna or KTV line up simply because I have found that these girls never perform as well. It may simply be a cultural thing - the bar scene appeals more to Westerners while the sauna scene appeals more to Asians.
I am always up for a gathering of the Beijing brotherhood. I by no means think I have all of the answers, and would love to get together and share information. Just pick a date!

I guess this wasn't clear in my original FR about Maggies, but I go mongering to save me the 2+ hours it takes to seduce a girl, plus all the related drama associated with freebies. I'm also getting along in age now, so staying up until 3 am or later in a bar/club to get laid isn't my favorite situation. So I prefer options that are hassle-free in terms of just picking the girl I want instead of having to approach the girl and convince her to go home with me, available before midnight (afternoon mongering has its charms), and reasonably priced. This is partly why I like saunas and BBSes so much. I see the whole mongering habit as a pleasant add-on to my current romantic/sexual life. I make no apologies about my over-active libido.
As a professed "player," I'm almost always in some long-term romantic relationship or another (or several), so as Sammy T remarked, guys like me prefer the relative "safety" of the incalls at saunas and BBSes, so this may explain why I don't like having to go hunting at Maggies to bring girls home. Btw, do you guys actually take these girls back to your apartments? If so, isn't that kind of risky? I only do this with freebies. Or do you book a hotel room for this purpose? I agree with Sammy T that this sauna/BBS/KTV vs. pro-bar preference may actually be a cultural thing (though this gets complicated since I grew up in America). Once I get more time, I'll start posting some sauna reviews with the knowledge that this would only appeal to East Asians in my situation, etc.
Btw, to those guys who are more like me: my base is in Qingdao where the sauna experiences that would cost Y500+ in Beijing go for Y238+, and where the BBSes cost only Y100. Even the very best KTV in town, which supposedly has 100+ girls a night (I saw over 70 in one night), only costs Y680 for the room (shared by up to 4 guys) and Y800 for LT. On top of that, Qingdao is <<much>> cleaner than Beijing (tho admitedly that's not saying much). Geez, the Qingdao Tourism Board (or whatever they call it) should really be paying me for this.

I have nothing against your "all-inclusive" mongering run, though I've found that I'm not really into the mongolian SPs at Maggies. I certainly hope that the Maggies crowd will be gracious enough to allow those of us who are more the Sauna/BBS/KTV crowd to exchange our field reports rather than relegating us to another thread. I have nothing against Maggies itself. It is just that if I'm going to put in the work to attract a girl enough to go home with me, she had better be free.

hey xiangjiao, your deductive powers need some work. Where exactly in my post did I say I didn't appreciate chinese girls ? I happen to agree with you, they are the best. But in the years I lived in BJ, I often was looking for a change of pace. If you want to pity me or feel sorry for me that's fine; just a little strange, that's all.
I will say tho that in the pay-for-play arena, 75% of the time, at least, mongolians are better in bed, and much better at sucking dick.
About being at maggies at 2 or 3 in the morning - I wouldn't know. When I went there, which really wasn't that often, I'd get there at around 12 or so, make a move, and get out. I'm pretty long in the tooth as well. Never really had an issue taking girls of any ethnicity to my apartment - I'm single, rarely drank more than one or two beers, and can smell a scam a mile away.
About the music at Maggies - they have a hard drive with 10,000 songs, and I always was able to request virtually any song I wanted to hear. I'd rather take a barium enema than listen to chinese pop, or chinese hip-hop, or chinese and korean boy bands, which is what I usually heard at clubs around town.
About beer, maybe you have a point; I'm comparing the price of a bottle of Heneken at Maggies to my other usual haunts like the tree, where some of those belgian beers can knock you back heavy.

A bottle of Tsingtao in Maggies was only 20rmb until about 3-4 weeks ago. They have put it up to 30rmb although one girl told me the other night, that its still 20rmb before 11pm. Who the hell goes to Maggies before 11pm???? Ladydrinks and mixers etc, are quite expensive tho. I find the music strange. The sound system is good, but switching from Rolling Stones to the latest ministry of sound DJ mixes, doesnt really add up to me. The problem is that the guys like the golden oldies, but the girls wont dance to it. Vice Versa, although watching a lot of you older guys trying to bust out moves to some of the recent mixes, does provide a laugh:D . What's the problem anyway? I have found there to be 3 price levels for ALL items in China - one for the local Chinese (and those that can pass as local Chinese), one for a foreigner who can speak the language (50% to 100% higher), and one for the tourist (200% or more higher than what the locals pay). Sammy
Totally agree - the only caveat is if you have an accent which is even faintly taiwanese - you will get placed into category B. HK and singapore guys can never fake being local chinese - but the guys from taiwan i know try. They rarely succeed. Laowai's that speak good mandarin gets lumped into category B also. I remember the girls i knew from passions - when they were honest with me, which was not often - admited as soon as a laowai spoke mandarine they had to drop the price they would initially ask, which was the same as for the guys from taiwan, hk, etc. They almost never went out with local guys, unless they had heaps of money.
The one place where there is no category's is hollywood - one price for all. Also for those who like a quick early selection it can't be beat. If you like asian women its good also. So you can drop in a 9pm, pick up a cute asian girl from one of the stans - and there are about 6 good looking ones working this week, which are gorgious - (two of them look very young but i did verify they are 21 each - because i spend a lot of time in thailand i am paranoid about making sure the girls are over age). There are also a number of mixed chinese/western girls who have a very nice face. Of course almost no mandarin skills, but who cares.

I agree 100%with the above statement I have been to Beijing, Xian , Shanghai, Suzhou and got full service in all. I guess I probably paid more than a local but on an average of $120Us a time i don't complain.
Saunas in Beijing to offer a wider mix of services, some are purely massage, some do BJ, some do FS. This is probably due to different locations have different level of sensitivities and the frequent clean up effort by the police. Some times, it is the xiao jie who is not willing to do it. So as a result one can't automatically assume what he can get in a sauna, and ability to communicate is necessary.
The farther you go outside the city, though, the more likely a sauna will have FS. And the cheaper it will be.
I see most of the reported activities on this board seem to surround Lido, Maggies, Hard Rock, etc, places that cater mainly to foreigners. These places are pretty expensive. I now exclusively go to KTVs where Chinese locals go. Some on north side, some on south side, some on west side. I pay 100 rmb for a room for 3 hours including a few beers, tip for girl is another 100 rmb. Free to fondle the girl. Out of pocket expense 200 rmb. Not bad for 3 hours of fun.
For FS the locals' going rate is 300 per shot and 500-800 per night (depending on how good one can negotiate). There are some real gems in the locals pool. I'll post a few pictures in the photos section.
My biggest upcoming advanture is I'll be taking a trip to Changchun purely for fun. Supposedly the saunas there are so standardized, that even if you are mute you'll get full service. This is my 4th visit to Beijing in 3 years. I speak maybe 5 words of Mandarin. I've been meaning to explore Beijing's many other options - like the pig/hr/mag tour for beginners, or a sauna or mp - but I have never gotten past the readily available street girls, or once a lady in the elevator of Traders.

I was told this story yesterday by a friend of mine.
Last week, after quite a late one in Maggies, my friend was driving round Ritan Park area, more specifically, on Ya Bao Lu. He was forced to pull his car over by what appeared to be a one of those top end government Audi A6. I just got into Beijing this evening for a short trip. Thanks to a fellow monger help with phone numbers, called up mamasan Li and she was eager to arrange delivery service to my hotel.

Went to Pig and Thistle (see Sammy_T's excellent beginner's guide to Beijing for address; http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=397852&postcount=3283). The taxi ride from Hilton took longer on the way out than I expected - guess 8pm is tail end of rush hour - but it was a quick ride back.
So 8pm on a Wednesday night, about 15 girls, half as many guys. Started a conversation with a lady at the bar as I waited for a beer, and while I wasn't interested at first, I decided I liked her attitude. The best English of any WG I've talked to in China.

Running an errand around 8:15pm down the strip on 3rd ring, there were a number of ladies out, including the happy hooker from my earlier report. She greeted me happily.
Later, heading down the 3rd ring strip looking for grub (well, not literally; while you probably can get actual grubs to eat here somewhere, I was looking for less of a delicacy), around 10:30pm Thursday. The ladies on offer were fewer than the other night, but they were out.
I discovered the hard way that local food restaurants generally close around 10pm, and the hotel suggested western food - yech. But a place with a lot of neon, near the river, with English words "Hot Taste" was still serving, and it was good and reasonable, with just enough English on the menu. Not everything is spicy there, but some sure is.
After, at 11:30pm I decided to take a gander at Hard Rock. A band was playing American classic rock, loud but reasonably well, and there was a cover of 70RMB, so I merely looked from the entrance way. It wasn't very crowded. There were ladies in there, but I could not get a sense for how many, how good, and which were rentals - probably most were. I expect that if I was in the mood for a monger I would not have walked out empty-handed.
On the walk back up north, there were about 8 ladies out, 2 of which were young and reasonably cute (one who I have seen a few times) and 3 of which were surprisingly old and haggard - fat, rough looking, well into their 40s if not beyond. I guess they must get some business somehow, or they wouldn't be there. Or maybe they were just goofing on me - they were laughing.
My reports are not news to this group, but serve as a recent point of information on prices and times, and that the market is alive and well.
I think the strip between 8pm and midnight, while variable, is a fine place to get a friendly and cute companion for a reasonable price like 400 RMB up. Or take a card from the mamasans just south of Hard Rock and they will do phone deliveries, which according to an earlier report went well.
The Pig and Thistle (Lido, 4th ring road) is good for better-dressed women at a higher starting price and similar service during the earlier hours (reportedly as early as 6pm, and until 11pm or so). They might be just a bit older (25 up).
Glitzy "Bar One", just a bit down the road the Hilton is on, had some beautiful well-dressed women and no men; they may be there just to get you to buy drinks, according to some reports.
Hard Rock gets going as the Pig winds down, but has a band and cover, and goes until 2AM, when Maggies, where I still have not been, is just reaching its peak.
You could easily tour all of these options in the same night, but chances are if your purpose is to pop rather than party, you'll find someone early on. In my experience the service is brief but not overly rushed, friendly enough, and all the sound effects you could want, and more, during the act.

is it me or did it also happend to you recently? My last recent visits at Maggies showed me that the "old" Maggies flair has been gone, replaced by some internal business habits among the mongolian girls. It seems that more and more mongolian ladies have their female-pimps.

I just had a day in Beijing, arriving early in the morning and leaving the next, and didn't want to hassle with sifting through the girls at the Pig, Maggies, etc. I made a happy email contact with an escort named Monica who was just what I was looking for. Saturday morning,
Out for a bike ride. Headed over towards Euro Village. On the way noticed a few restaurants and on the opposite side quite a few massage places.
First one was a huge foot massage place, didn't go in.
Second was a massage only place, 2 naughty looking ladies but not my type.

1st shop says Massage, only had 2 girls not very nice.

Well, nothing much to report yet as I had decided to import a GF from Thailand for two weeks. Prices are outrageous in Beijing and a returm ticket from Bangkok with Dragon Air costs less than 3 LT in Beijing. An additional benefit is also the thailand friendliness. She's gone home now, so I will have more to report soon. She can't bear Chinese people now, so maybe next time I have to find another solution.
It's been a long time I went to Beijing, so I found out that my favourite places in Sanlitun have been destroyed. We went to Mix disco, as I like what they now call RnB. i had a similar situation. but no way in hell was i letting anyone separate me from my bottle.
i had a representative from the airline come to the inspection area and escort me and my bottle to the boarding area, then get my suitcase from the plane so i could put the bottle in the suitcase, then he returned the suitcase back in the plane.
i did not know if i should feel like i was royalty or like i was a wino.
if you forget something in your luggage, for example, immigration documents you need to get through customs at your destination, they will also get your suitcase for you, let you get out the documents, then return it to the plane.
i think this holds true not only in beijing but in any airport.

Ive been quiet recently but a few weeks ago I turned up in the wangjing MP. Got in my room, chose a girl and stripped off. She came in and it was one of the regulars who has done me a few times. i find it very frustrating that they take the bottle from you when you can turn around and buy another bottle at the duty free shop (typically for triple the price). i have checked bottles of alcohol before, and trust me, a broken bottle of maotai in your suitcase is not something you will enjoy after a 24 hour flight to the usa.
i have read that the reasons for this requirement is because in the past chinese passengers have gotten drunk and unruly on the flight. the policy was first imposed on domestic flights, and then applied to international flights. this still does not explain why they allow liquor to be sold in the duty free shops.
one reason might be due to the alcohol content. much of the chinese liquor is very strong, and thus flammable, so it could be considered a security risk. if the alcohol content of the liquor sold in duty free is lower than the flammable point then it might explain the exception. i have never checked the alcohol content of what is sold in duty free, but i bet it is the exact same stuff you can buy on the street.
when you pass through security in japan there is a sign saying you cannot bring alcohol through. they even have a machine that can look through the bottle and tell the contents. i have never seen them use this machine, nor had any problems bringing stuff through.

the confirep001ion was definitly not legal. next time just walk back to the check in desk and check the bottle in. there is a place at the airport where you can buy paper boxes and let it wrap to check in this kind of things.
i would never give a chinese rip of artist anything for free, rather i would put it to the garbage.

Quick report on my first two nights in Beijing. I'm staying in the Grand Hyatt, which is a nice 5 star hotel, near Tianamen Square/Forbidden City. The hotel appears to be girl-friendly, although some of the girls I have been chatted up by on the street (more on this later) have refused to enter the hotel with me.

They are obviously being controlled by someone. Standard pricing RMB 800, everything with condom, no extras, one time only.
I was about to close the deal with one Russian, when she told me that she wouldn't to any oral (allegdely a throat operation) so I lost interest. When I moved and chatted up another blonde Russian, she conferred with someone and told me she wouldn't go with me, I should look elsewhere. I think there was a connection between the first and second girl, although they were standing at opposite sides of the bar.
Anyway, one beer later I pulled out a nice 24 year-old girl from Uzbekistan, named Elvina. Same deal RMB 800, one shot. I made the mistake of getting into the Hollywood-controlled "taxis" with the girl and took a RMB 50 ride home instead of RMB 15. *** Avoid this mistake *** Directly across the street and you will find a queue of normal taxis. I realize that its only $4 difference, and I have the cash to burn by staying in the Hyatt, but what's annoying in this town that as a westerner there's an attitude that you are an easy mark for getting ripped off.
Anyway, there was no trouble bringing the girl up to my room, no security chck or anything. Maybe a few glances from the knowing westerners in the lobby, but manageable. (This may be different for Chinese girls)

If you are a single guy and walking alone in the vicinity of Tianamen Square or the main road that leads back to the Oriental Plaza/Hyatt development, you will be approached, usually by 2 girls, claiming to be students who want to "practice their English". They will insist they just want to walk and talk, but eventually you will be directed to a tea parlour or some restaurant that will serve you up with an outrageous bill. Like I said, I was suspicious from the start, but decided to play along, as the girls I was talking to were actually quite intelligent and well-informed. I refused to go where they wanted, but instead offered to buy them a coffee at the Haagen Dazs in teh Oriental plaza. We ordered three coffees (in English) and they in Chinese orderd some ice-cream desert buffet. I realized the scam on me when three waiters appeared with two huge triple-level banquet style desserts. I informed the waiters that I was only paying for the coffees at which point the girls were humiliated. Lots of angry Chinese between the said parties. I sat with them and enjoyed my coffee and said that they should have asked me first. They were close to tears. I finished my coffee and stayed because I wanted to see them eat the mounds of desert they ordered. Of course they couldn't finish it. But they were clever. They recovered their composure and we continued chatting. They explained that I wasn't being a gentlemen and a Chinese man would always pay for whatever a Chinese girl wanted. (I hope this isn't true). They explained they had no idea it was so expensive, the price wasn't on the menu (it wasn't). They coyly made some sexual innuendos and I was obviously interested in shagging one of them. The read my palm and measured my fingers, indicating that I must be well-endowed and they would like to see it. I of course said, sure come up to my hotel room. At this point I relented, believing they hadn't known, and not believing that a Western firm like Haagen-Dasz would assist in such a scam and agreed to pay the RMB 480 bill, in addition to the coffees I already paid. I needn't tell you they came up with a story that their university would find out if they came upstairs and that they weren't alowed to etc. They gave me a phone number, but it was a fake.
So, in total RMB 600 (over USD 80) or so for coffee and overpriced ice-cream and no sex. Awaiting the revocation of my Senior status here.
One final note, all prices in Beijing (China generally) need to be negotiated down massively. If you're buying western knock-off goods, like Polo shirts don't pay more than RMB 100 for 3 shirts, or about $4 each. They will offer them to you for as much as RMB 200 each though. Persistence pays. So does walking away.

I would suggest changing your booking if you can. The great wall is just beside the Hard Rock Cafe, and there are plenty of mamasans outside. Problem is that after 11pm it is hard to get the girls in your room.

This is rather odd - there is a lot of scamming which goes on around the grand hyatt - the grand hyatt is a very safe hotel and well run - perhaps this may have been the reason. After all, if you are selling your product near a hotel, why not go into the hotel to close the deal?

The girls are required to use the club taxi's if available, otherwise they can lose their pass. If the guards are not looking the girls will often hurry you out, but if the guards see them they need to make the effort. I also think the cars will wait for the girls and take them back if you go to some far away place where its hard to get a taxi - but if you stay in a hotle close by the girls normally don't worry about this benefit - its the pass they worry about.

I will be in Bejing for a week this month, staying at the China World Hotel.

Be carefull when you arrive. Nearly all taxis drivers get off the airport expressway at 5th or 4th Ring, pretending they avoid traffic jams. For example, to go to Wangfujing, it costs 80 Yuan if they use the second ring, and about 150 if they use the 5th ring. So watch out and say no if they intend to do it.

There was a massage place with a prominent sign not far away so just walk about. Forgot the exact location Also the Citic hotel has a KTV next door that looked promising. I was with family and did not partake.

I answered my own questions tonight. Got out of the Crowne Plaza and started walking around the block in search of the Citic hotel (which I did not see but thanks BJK for the info) and was approached by 2 guys and 1 woman, all offering girls, in less than 10 minutes. All spoke good english and gave me their business card.
The mamasan, Lin Da, accompanied me back to the entrance of the hotel, she was nice, not at all stalking me, wished me a good evening, and assured me she could send a girl to my room at the Crowne Plaza 10 minutes after I would call her, if I decided to do so and that there was no problem getting girls into this hotel. The place was decorated like your standard three-star Chinese hotel – tasteless and rundown. Most Chinese would find the place clean enough but it didn’t quite meet my hygiene standard. I went through the standard procedures – took off my shoes at the reception and changed into a disposal pajama in the locker room. Without bothering with the shower, I went straight to the lounge and asked the waiter to give me a suite with shower room. It turned out that none of their rooms was so equipped. The rooms were big enough, a double bed, a twin sofa, a coffee table with a TV set on top, etc.
I asked the waiter about the salt and milk bath, but he said the masseuse would explain everything to me. The second (bad) experience was at a massage parlor called Jin Bao behind a hotel called Jin Bao too I believe. Anyway, I will not and do not recommend anyone to go there. The experience started off halfway decent. I went in, showered, put my stuff in a locker. Several people have asked for address on this: 47 Jiuxianqiao Rd. After you make the right on Jiuxianqiao Rd and head south (?), go past the McDonald's (which is near the canal/river); then go past 2 traffic lights. 6000-7000RMB seems too high even for a scam. Are you sure you got the amount correct? Actually paying by credit card might be a smart thing in this case, I would fight the charge on your credit card because no one will believe it's a correct charge for a massage. Just say there's an extra zero that's not supposed to be there, which is actually true, so you wouldn't be lying.
I suggest you go to saunas that service Japanese businessmen. They are usually safe and the quality is good. Look in the Japanese magazines since I think they screen the establishments to maintain quality. (Damn I wish I had that job). It took me a few hours to figure out some of the code words like "special" massage or a heart. There are specials advertised sometimes so you can get discounts by showing the mag. Never trust the cabbies in any part of the world. I've never had anything good come of it, even when asking for a simple restaurant referral. My friends got me in a jam recently at a karaoke by listening to a cabbie in China. Sorry to contradict a previous poster, but it doesn't always help to negotiate or ask for the price beforehand at crooked establishments. There's not much you can do but drop a reasonable amount of money and walk (or run) outta there.

To answer a few questions or simply reply back to statements made by posters on this incident:
Lao Ma - Taking my CCs around is probably a flaw on my part. I'll try to not do this anymore. I'm used to putting everything on my card and by everything I mean EVERYTHING. I rake in the worldpoints and get my frequent flyer miles. On the hindsight, I did get about 700 points. (insert laughter here) Another reason is that I once got my wallet stolen and didn't realize until maybe hours later. This mistake didn't cost that much money in the grand scheme of things. It only hurted because of the embarassment and realization of being scammed. Who wants to pay more than they have to right? I can be pretty optimistic, which is why I think it maybe a healthy thing for me to get scammed this early and now be much more wary and pay attention to the details. For example, this place was also in the basement, had one lovely attendant who brought me downstairs, and saw only males until I was brought girls two at a time. In Beijing its ok, the police does not care unless you cause a massive disturbance somewhere. So, if you are a laowai and you walk into a hotel, past police or security, and you have a russian bird with you - they will not care. I have been involved in raids at Hollywood in the past, and the police normally let the foreign guys and girls out with minimal issues. However i would suggest that in principal any form of prostitution is illegal in China, as it is in the US as well, for that matter. If you are a foreign chinese guy, i would assume there may be questions - but i suspect nothing more than that.
Most of the russian girls share - so its not viable. The mongolians and the occassional chinese girl will have somewhere to go - but they need to be comfortable with you. Unlike shanghai, these girls will normally live close by in an ok area - but i have only very rarely seen the hollywood girls take customers back to their place - and i have never heard of local chinese going back to the girls place, ever.
I was also informed that the crack down will end at the end of this month, so the girls are hoping business will be back to normal in July. Time will tell, but i must admit having heard more than my share of "local guys getting into trouble" stories since April - so i wonder if something more insidious is afoot. After hearing one of our fellow member was pulled over by russian mafia types in the wee hours of the morning (read it in a posting) i wonder if the russian mafia is trying to move in and the police are starting to react. I hope not!

6000-7000RMB seems too high even for a scam. Are you sure you got the amount correct? Actually paying by credit card might be a smart thing in this case, I would fight the charge on your credit card because no one will believe it's a correct charge for a massage. Just say there's an extra zero that's not supposed to be there, which is actually true, so you wouldn't be lying.

I said to them we've gotta go when I noticed all the mysteriously empty beer bottles piling up. On top of that, they didn't honor the pre-stated rates. I don't even think my friends realized that the staff was lying right to our faces. They thought it was simply a misunderstanding so they didn't want to just walk out.
Sorry to contradict a previous poster, but it doesn't always help to negotiate or ask for the price beforehand at crooked establishments. There's not much you can do but drop a reasonable amount of money and walk (or run) outta there.

SO TRUE. After being ripped off in various cities i have a list of things to watch out for - the NUMBER ONE thing to watch for is lots of empty bottle appearing on your table. If you see this get out immediatly - there is no point trying to fight the system.
A for the credit card suggestion - a valid point, but it depends what card you have. I have found MasterCard and VISA are typically less sympathetic, American Express Charge Card is probably the best. The problem with credit cards is you get the 10% extra fee garbage and the risk your credit card will be used for a regular $10 per month subscription to "Anal Penetration for Gay Men Monthly" for the rest of eternity - if the bill does not get paid. (Try and explain that at the Bank) Be prepared to cancel you card if something strange appears.
Because - while RM7000 is too high for a massage, its not too high for a room filled with the entire beijing womens hockey team, fully naked and oiled down, sitting in a milk filled hot tub, all holding handcuffs. Another problem when trying to explain this to your local Bank teller in ohio.
