have been reading threads on Indonesia for a while... However i am in Indonesia finally in the month of Ramadan...To top it all my work has brought me out of Jakarta and now am stuck for about two months in Ujung Pandang ( Makassar).

I have been getting a whole lot of PM's from guys who have not put up a single post. And to each one of these guys I have told them I need to be reassured that they are genuine mongers. Except for one guy who started quite a few postings in India thread, no other guy has made a single posting here again after the request to me. This actually makes me suspect LE guys are around.
In fact I was in maribaya 10 days back. As usual a few girls were available in the 4th floor. Suddenly I got a call from one girl Siska the day before yesterday to caution me that there were raids there. On the first raid, apparently they picked up all the girls in the 4th floor even though there were no customers. And the next day the LE want back and picked up guys who had brought in girls and had checked into rooms there. Now that was amazing. And the entire operation was apparently done without the knowledge of the local jurisdiction police.Which means even the local police had no information to tip them off.
And If am not mistaken, last year Menteng had given the details here in the forum about the 4th floor being activated during Ramadhan and other restricted days. This year there were no posts about the 4th floor in maribaya. I dont know whether anyone of us have PM'd guys with no posts. This actually enlarges my suspicion that there LE guys lurking around.
One source where I used to pick up girls very easily was a web portal which was free and very few members around. And it was not popular here in Indonesia.But quite a few girls, the horny types were around. And suddenly for the last one week, no one in Indonesia is able to access the site. And I realised that I had inadvertently given the webportal address here to one newbie who had no posts. And off it goes in a days time. While we can access the site but we cannot login. Which means that one web portal which had free access and contact info for dating is no more accesible to anyone in Indonesia.
Now all these , coupled with a whole lot of PM's from newbies who dont have a single posting here or hardly a couple of them is actually posing a problem. I guess, we need to come to a consensus as to what are the type of guys to whom we will PM details and contacts. And the minimum number of posts a guy should have made here to seek any information etc. This would help us protect OUR Jakarta and OUR girls here.

Around 80% of the PM's I get are from readers who have never posted, accordingly I never disclose anything meaningful unless they are prepared to share some information which convinces me they are "legitimate". I think all we can do is use discretion and if in doubt, play safe.
A few other contributors also have mentioned picking up girls at the airport. Well, unless I've been unobservant in the past (unlikely!), I would note that there is an increasing number of girls hanging around waiting for men coming in. Last week I saw three for sure and I was a bit constrained as I with my "girlfriend". One the girls I saw was waiting at the barrier along with all the other people you always get when an international flight comes in. So it's good cover for them.
It's just a sea of faces but I caught her eye and she smiled rather more than you'd expect from a stranger even in Indonesia. Same here. I also heard foreign workers in Singapore has been doing the samething. Batam or Johor trip won't qualify them to chop their passport when they go back to Singapore. It should be at least KL or Jakarta.

As per many of my colleagues, our biggest worry is someone who has only written ONE post, asking for information, or even worse has PM'd someone but who has no posts at all. There's absolutely no way to verify who that monger is, plus the point of this forum is to share information - to get info, one should also give some info.
Beyond that, there is no absolute minimum number of posts that a poster should make in order to be trusted, but obviously the more posts, the better. But it's also the quality of the posts - someone may have only posted 8 to 10 times (such as you) but can be trusted because their posts are long and contain substantial information and details. It's usually pretty easy to tell who is a serious monger versus who is not. And of course any senior member is probably a serious monger.
The recent split of the old WSG into two separate branches, ISG and USA SG, has caused most senior members' cumulative post total to also be split, and thus reduced on each forum. For example, I have over 610 posts on USA SG but less than 70 posts here; in the old days, those numbers would be combined into a cumulative total somewhere around 670, but now they are split into two lesser numbers. So I do realize that there may be some longtime trustworthy posters who have only made a limited number of posts on one forum because most of their posts are in the other forum.

P.S. Yes there is always the possibility that an LE person may go undercover and write lots of informative posts to try to trick the rest of us, but to the best of my knowledge that has not happened much here on ISG or USA SG.

That was it! I said deals off, you must go. She wasn't bothered, she wouldn't budge. As she was getting dressed she called back one of her customers and arranged to meet him. So at the same time I called a girl I know and she arrived as the other was leaving! With her I got everything for 300k and excellent service.
She wouldn't let me take a photo either.
The main point of my post is that clearly, there are a lot of people around who are paying too much and driving up prices. Especially in the big hotels. Best to stay out of them I think.

I will kick them out if they demand ridiculous amounts like that. I don't think there are many people out there paying that much, but there are some.
That girl obviously had hooked someone at the moment willing to pay that much (at least for now). I've never paid more than 500,000 for a girl I just met. As a matter of fact, if the girl even tries to pre-negotiate, that's usually a good sign to give her the boot immediately.
I am glad that you ultimately did give her the boot. The worst thing we can all do is spoil these girls with satu juta for straight sex. If the rates went up to that, the next thing they'd be asking for is dua juta.

This is the original WSG/ISG. I think there have been some disputes about who owned the domain name, so that's why Jackson got this one.
I had a strange experience recently. There is one girl I used to pick up in MyBar, about which I posted the story of how she freaked out when I didn't want to take her back to the hotel with me (she needed more cash for her visit upcountry).
I checked my US cellphone the other day, and I noticed a voicemail registered at around 5am my local time. I couldn't make out the message due to poor connection quality, but it was definitely an Indo girl. The next night, she again called and left a message (why these girls think I'd be awake at 5am on a weeknight is beyond me).
The thing is, I had never given out my US number to her, or anyone for that matter. I use a different GSM phone when visiting asia. I don't have a clue how she got my number, and it disturbs me a bit.
Next, she sends me an email to my work account asking how I am. Again, I would never give out my address, so I have no clue how she got it. All I can think of is that she took a business card from my laptop case. That would explain the number and address thing, but then raises the issues of what the hell she was doing rooting around my bag (and when). Very strange.
As to overpaying, I confess to picking up 2 friends from bats and paying them close to $200 taxi fare. We were all back in the hotel room by then, so I didn't want to make a stink out of it. Plus, I had been actively looking for these two for several days.
It worked out well for me in the sense that one of them took a liking to me and has been my GFE many times since, with no taxi fare requested.

Well, like I mentioned in my first post, was planning to embark on my first, EVER, mongering experience, and thought I might as well do it on this short business trip that I'm on in Jakarta now.
However, and alas, it was not to be... must be a conspiracy of nature & religious stars aligned to still keep me a "monger-virgin" :-(
Anyway, landed in CGK yesterday, with a spring in my steps, accompanied with a good partner, and proceeded to my client's office. Remember, I'm excited, and who can blame me... I've gotten in touch with a fellow countryman, who's none other than the FAMED Master Diver II, via PM, and traded phone numbers. Maybe, with such an esteemed local legend (at least on the Malaysian boards which I've been following...) I thought, maybe, just maybe, the Heavenly Gods of Mongering could be smiling at me...

Of all the days I could have landed in Jakarta, to bust my rocks off commercially for the first time, I had to land on the 20th!
Well, at around 9:30pm, after dinner with my collegues, clients and partner, I decided to grab a cab to the Infamous Blok M. What glee accompanied me during that ride... I was just like a schoolkid, racing home, after being told that mommy just bought you a great present and it's waiting for you at home... Only to be greeted with a dead street.
Lights off.
Blok M was closed.
How could that be?

"Never mind, CJs should be open right?", I thought.
So, as the SilverBird cruised back. That was the mantra playing in my mind like a broken record stuck on autoplay.

Went for another quick bite then with my staff at EX, and that's what I found our what the night was called: "MALAM NUZULUL QURAN". So, guys, if you're ever in town during Ramadhan... remember to factor this in your equations, when counting the amount of rubbers to buy.
Anyway, there goes the masterplan.
The only consolation I can probably take is that: Let's hope they're hornier tonight... after a 24-hour break! ;-)

Since most bars are closed now, visited these spas during during the past couple of weeks:
Olympic: 450,000 rp, 1 hour, 20 or so local cewek to choose from, clean and spacious rooms with jacuzzi. A bit strict on time, though, as on 2 occasions the 'time up' call came at 50 minutes. Excellent service from both girls, both of whom have 'balik kampung' now until end of fasting month.
Travel: 250,000 rp, 1 hour, 50 or so locals to chose from, nice facilities, and full hour (and sometimes more) allowed. Service from one girl was not so hot, but good with another.
Emporium: 600,000 pr, 1 hour, about 15 local girls to choose from, and an additional 6 PRC girls viewable on request. The PRC were cute, but too expensive at 1 million or more. Facilities are shabby compared to Olympic and Travel. However, nice service from girl who normally works at bar in penjay but is working in the spa this month.
No relationship at all between quality of facilities, price, and service, so far as I can tell.
Smoothy - sitting here in UK on a wet Friday afternoon, of course I have to say you are 100% correct. It was stupid to even think of paying 1 juta. I would, and have, advised many people not to be so stupid but I'm afraid like many of us my cock rules my brain more often than it should! Anyway, my brain won in the end I'm pleased to say. We can all still enjoy excellent girls who provide the best service anywhere for 200 - 500k so let's be strong when we get presented with ridiculous prices!
About Fisherman's report - I know a number of people get alarmed about girls getting difficult in their hotel rooms but really there is nothing to fear about this. There is no problem getting security to throw them out, 20,000 would accelerate the process.
Also - about them finding contact details (Brandon88's post). I have a very strict routine every time.
1. On arrival tell doorman/security not to admit anyone to see me
2. Mini bar already hidden before going out
3. Suitcase locked with low-value valuables inside
4. All real valuables in safe including watch & passport
5. Wear cheap Blok M watch and carry photo copy of passport
6. Carry minimum cash and put that in safe as soon as I arrive in the room
7. Unplug hotel phone so they can't phone the friend in USA and I can't get calls
In the "heat of the moment" it's very very easy to be careless, leaving watches in the bathroom, wallets on the bedside table etc. So plan ahead!
That way many risks are minimised. Sorry if I'm preaching what you already know.

Kudos to Bulai for not giving in. Unfortunately, as long as there are guys willing to drop US $100 or more for a girl, there will always be girls who won't budge on their prices because they have other mongers waiting for them, just a phone call away. Luckily there are still plenty of girls in Indonesia who aren't that greedy :)

Just got back from a trip to Jkt. The only thing I can say is..Jkt sucks during the puasa month! Arrived on Thursday only to be told that all clubs, massage, disco will be closed for that night!Has something to do with it being the halfway mark of the fasting month at that it was the holiest time. WTF?! even those operating in hotels were not allowed to open! Well, one wasted night in Jkt. The next day, wanted to go visit stadium after meeting with clients but was told that it was closed, As I was staying at FM1, the karaoke was opened so decided to hang out there. Actually don't like going to karaoke's nowadays because all you do in the room is take xtacy and have the music at you at full blast. Bad for the ears. Besides, it's the fasting month so it's too risky doing that, never know when you will kena rajia(raids). Also, my local friends strongly advice me to stay away from disco's for the time being. Wanted to go to CJ or Bat's as most of the forum brothers recommend that place but guess what, it was pouring outside, so didn't leave the hotel. One thing good about this hotel is you don't really need to leave the place to find things you need. There is a spa located at the 3rd floor so went in to try it out. There was a large selection of girls that do ML (sex) about 39 locals. Asked the mami the going price and was told rp700,000 for 1 hr. Sat down on the lounge area, ordered a beer and quickily scan through the selection. The quality is so-so only, certainly not worth rp700,000. The same quality can be had at Stadium or Travel for rp250,000 only so asked to be massaged. The ML was pretty good, around 23 yrs old, nice body and friendly. Asked her what time she knocked off and invited her to my room. She agreed so at least one night not wasted. The FJ was ok and the damage rp500,000. Xpensive but it was ok considering it was the fasting month and I was lazy to go to Millenium or Crown to go look for cheaper FL. Overall, the trip was quite a diasater, but any brothers planning to go there, the hotel I stayed at is certainly worth staying.

Oh Dear another one bites the dust.
Just returned from Jakarta and being Puasa it sucks - I would agree Jakarta sucks and a mighty fine experience it was too - a nice bbj.
Due to the rain was relocated to a new area Alhambra - not a hotel to be recommended as it is expensive and the quality of the rooms is poor - but that is another story.

Each bar was packed - Everest - My Bar and one other Oscars. My Bar was rampant however the quality was lower than one might otherwise think but being puasa this was to be expected.
Nevertheless snatched a party normally seen in Batz and returned to Alhambara to enjoy the kill. Alas I can now see why she had gone downmarket - the body was trim and slim and the bbj was nicely executed but the smell of fish was most off putting. Needless to say some rubber wellingtons were needed to execute the deed and a perfunctory peck on the cheek and 200K lighter the job was done.

FM1 is also known as Boutique Hotel. It is located in Grogol opposite Taman Anggrek Mall. If you are comming from the airport, you will notice the building because it is colorfully painted. Olympic hotel I believe is located at Lokasari along Manggar Besar. Boutique hotel is more of a one stop hotel for leisure as you will find a karaoke inside which never seems to close and is always packed. Perspective from a 'new' senior member (thanks jackson). I've only been a member of this site for less than 6 weeks and in fact found it be accident --was a regular to the 'other wsg' site and didn't realize this was the original until weeks ago.
I made my last trip to Asia in September (before becoming a member of this post)....and had spent considerable time on the other wsg site reading the threads, doing my research, etc. to catch up on things in Asia. As a result of my recent trip and a couple of hours on that other site, I was able to make some contributions to this site....at least enough that the administrator deemed me a senior member earlier this week.
As a relatively newbie, here's what I've learned from the contributors of this site:
Lesson 1 - even as a newbie, you can contribute. It can be re hotels, airlines, other sites you've found. If you found this site, it means you ain't stupid and you must have something constructive to share with everyone else. Before you know it, you'll be one of the regulars!
Lesson 2 - and I think the 'real' senior members will agree -- what one dislikes the most is a "LAZY" newbie asking a: "hi, i'm a newbie, visiting XXX for the first time, tell where best places, prices, etc. etc."....when in fact they should RTTF and do their homework first. This site as well as the other has a wealth of information, and even if the 'search' function might be clumsy for some, if you take the time to read the threads, you won't be asking silly questions and getting 'hostile' responses.
Lesson 3 - always to the Reports of Distinction first to get some good background.
Lessor 4 - if no one knows you and you send a pm, how would you react if in their shoes? Whether you're a LE or just plain lazy, of course the response will be "fxxx off".
IMHO -- and guess what, another posting to get me to senior senior status :-)

I visited Jakarta briefly just as Ramadan was beginning. The massage joints were closed, but I made good use of taxi driver information. Tried Samba Entertainment (ask for Steven -- Jl. Samba No.20, Tanah Tinggi, Jakarta Pusat). The lineup of 6 girls behind the glass was OK to excellent for late on a Sunday night, although some looked too young to me. To be frank, the highest that I have paid in Bats is 500K for a full night when I was pissed drunk last week. If not I never pay more than 400K. Yes they ask for 1 Juta and sometimes even more, if its a newbie in Jakarta. The moment you offer them 250 K when they tell you 1 Juta, she says 600 ok and then freezes at 400 K. And she knows you are regular when you nego it down. And when you dont, she knows you are one of those travellers who does not know Jakarta. Because, all know, that the girl starts at BATS at 1 Juta asking price, ( but the giving price would be 400 to 500K ) and then when there is no sucker available, they head to Tiga Puluh where the asking price is 500 to 600 K but the giving price is 300K to 400K and when they dont find anyone, they land up in Retro, they are available beyoond 2 30 am at 200K plus.
And beleive me, the girls know who the regulars are. They survey the place fast enough when they land in BATS to know how many newbie suckers are around and how many regulars are there. And when they find that the newbies are much less, then off they are to 30 +, the moment all the newbies are hooked up with someone or the other. They know that no more suckers are there and head to 30+.
We may be in BATS once a month, but the girls are regulars there and they also know who is a sucker. Becuase the the moment one guy is sucked off 1 juta, the message is spread across to other girls immediately, so that if the guy comes the next time, the price does not fall and they position it at 1 Juta and is maintained so.
Its happened to me when I was a newbie in Jakarta, 4 years back. My first bar pick up was at Deleila at USD 100. And being a newbie here I started frequenting Deleila. But I was already poorer by USD 1500 or so, becuase it took me over 2 months to figure this out, that the girl was helping herself while she was helping me find a girl..
I just stopped going to Deleila and when I went there after about 6 months, I picked up a stunner for 300K. And from then till now I maintain it at 300K, but after the USD reached the 10K mark, I have moved to 400K, giving them the benefit of inflation and devaluation.
In case you have been paying 1 Juta and are serious enough to pay less like most of us do and come into our price tag, then I would suggest, try withdrawing from BATS for a couple of months and hit 30+. Am sure being a regular at BATS will also help you identify the BATS regulars at Tigah Pulu. Get them at 300K to 400K and then go back to BATS one of the nights with the BATS girl picked up at 30+. And from then on, you may never ever pay 1 Juta again.
It does not matter whether its 5 star or not, the cost of pussy just has a small premium in Jakarta depending upon the hornyness of the mongerer. And the premium drops when they figure out one is got choices. Does not matter whether its My bar, or Barbados, or BATS or Lokasari Plaza.

John, why would you up your pay to 400k due to a strong dollar? Those girls are going to expect you to continue to pay that even if the dollar drops to 5000/1 basically doubling your cost. I've learned you never equate the value of the dollar to what you pay the girls. They never lower their price when the dollar devalues. there's no need to pay them more when the dollar is strong. I visited Jakarta briefly just as Ramadan was beginning. The massage joints were closed, but I made good use of taxi driver information. Tried Samba Entertainment (ask for Steven -- Jl. Samba No.20, Tanah Tinggi, Jakarta Pusat). The lineup of 6 girls behind the glass was OK to excellent for late on a Sunday night, although some looked too young to me. I agree with John A's report - the main factor is the girl's perception of the guy's willingness to pay and certainly the regular girls get to know who is who very quickly, they can spot newcomers a mile off. Naturally they are more likely to spot newcomers with a fat wallet and willingness to empty it in BATS than in Jl Jaksa so there will be a corelation between place and price.

The Bars such as BATS, CJ's, 30+, Retro and all others are closed since today till 8th. They all open on 8th. Just got back from 2-days Jakarta. Returned to Sydney, yesterday morning, just before the start of Idul Fitri.
Imagine this, I spend 1200 AUD and 22 hours travelling back and forth - had to travel via Singapore, the flights were full because of the end of Ramadan - just to spend 2-days of mongering in Jakarta.
Stayed in the Grand Flora Hotel, also brand new and just up the road, ie. Jl. Kemang Raya. Good hotel.
Close to MacDonalds, Kemang. Not a bad place, for a Maccy D, that is. There is a nice terrace outside, where you can sit and "dine".
I was completely surprised by the amount of girls flirting there in the early evening hours. It is a great place for casual "take-aways".
How is Barbados, btw? I have heard some stories about it, but have not visited yet. Is this the place where they dress up like sailors, ie. pelauts?

The feast day that is the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, known as the "Eid-ul-Fitr" is today, November 3rd, in most Muslim countries, with some countries observing the Eid on Friday (depends on when the new moon is sighted by the local imam).

Great report 1ball. If you cant find Viagra, try asking for Kamagra, which is essentially same stuff (same active ingredient, sildanafil), but about 1/4 the price since its manufactured in India. Found it easily in Thailand, dont know about jakarta though.

Taman Lawang? If you are looking for bencongs, I don't think you will find any posts on that here. I've only seen posts from guys who are interested in girls. That's what I was charged. I found him to very willing to customize the tour to whatever your interests are. If you've got a lot of experience here, then you may not need it, but he was certainly helpful for my trip.

Sadly yes - a multiple of the Mulia Hotel rate! I have seen them burn Rps5,000,000 for 3 hour ST. However, I have a funny feeling the girls will still "talk" to you somehow;). In my experience, you won't see many people at Blok M until after 11pm. It is possible that there will be a handful there as early as 8, although slim pickings.
By the way, does anyone here have any info on Hanoi, specifically around the Hilton hotel area? The Vietnam forum is not active at all. sound of crickets in there.

This report is long overdue. Sitting on my word processor, but a recent corporate reorganization exercise certainly left me winded, and this report languishing. Anyway, below is the report I was writing, till it was left languishing in the winds till today.
Caught a flight home a few weeks back (after Lebaran). From a mongering perspective, it certainly felt like a long walk of shame, as somebody once wrote: if you can’t get laid in Jakarta… Maybe he didn’t take Ramadhan into account.
Anyway, the trip wasn’t really a total bust, as on the professional front, I did land a major deal with my clients, which will facilitate frequent sojourns back to “Jakarta, the WET WORLD” as Senior Member Fisherman would like to put it. Maybe I will have the good fortune of meeting up great senior members like Master Diver II, Fisherman & Daijek and the other great masters of Jakarta like J.A.D. and Bulai 69, (please forgive me if I miss some of you great guys out there.) on one of these trips.
M.D.II has mentioned that he plans to write a Mongering Guide from the Non-Bule’s perspective. It’ll certainly be great, as it comes from vast experience, and as a very new greenhorn, I would certainly look forward to it with great anticipation, as I plan to return with a vengeance after Lebaran/Hari Raya Aidilfitri, probably at the end of November/Early December, for a longer trip. If any of you guys are there, and would love to give this poor newbie a helping hand, you’ll earn an appreciative “member” for life! Again, and as always, the first Bintang’s on me! ;-)
Anyway, here’s a recap on my sad trip in short form about the perils of traveling to Jakarta during Ramadhan (to spare those who found my first two reports a bore to read):
Arrived on Thursday, the 20th (please bear in Mind that that this report is waaaaay overdue… My apologies!) and went straight to my client’s place with my partner from Malaysia (bearing in mind, this is a born-again, god-fearing religious man). Met up with my other staff from Malaysia.
After going thru the day, and boy was it a long day, I managed to buzz Pak MDII via SMS a couple of times during the day. Alas, my staff turned out to be too hardworking and efficient, and that pretty much left me with meetings galore till it was kinda late. Left the office at about 9-ish/almost 10pm. By then, I was kinda bushed.
After dinner, Business Partner decided to take the lead, and decided to show me around, and before I knew it, we were chugging some beer at BATS, looking at all the glorious flesh that’s abounding in BATS. However, as I was kinda tired, and not thinking straight, I didn’t latch on to any of them earlier. BIG mistake.
Just as I was planning to pull one of the gals, the lights began to flash brighter, with the sounds of Prison Halogen Lights cranking up playing in my mind, the place came to a halt. Seems closing time is pretty much dependant on the whims and fancies of the authorities during Ramadhan. So, the long walk to my partners CRV, and I was soon back to our rented apartment. Alone.
The next day, after a good nights sleep, and clearing off my plate of meetings, I was raring to go. Had an early dinner, and by 9:30pm, I was raring to go. Hopped on to a Silverbird. Decided to head on to the infamous Blok M with another friend. Only to be greeted by the gloomy lights of a dead alley. It was shut down.
A few frantic presses of the keypad, and an SMS to MD II later. We arrived at Mulia. Bounding up the steps to CJs, only to be confronted with the sight of a lock entrance door. And a Dreaded Notice Signboard. “Due to the regulations of….”
Damn.
Sleeping alone tonight...
Well, that’s pretty much the story of my first ever trip to JKT. High hopes, but just plain bad luck and timing.
As the optimist would like to say, “Maybe, next time…” Will be back soon in Jakarta with a vengeance. And hope to meet up with some of ya in the upcoming trip.
Postscript: Well, after the disaster, decided to venture into the Malaysian scene, where I had pretty much a good first experience. Will post it there.

Robert Long - They can be a problem. Not sure if we are breaking the rules by discussing them, but there are a hell of a loy of TV's, ladyboys in Jakarta. Most are "harmless" and I know a few as personal ("platonic") friends - but there are some dodgy ones who I know have ripped punters off. One in particular called "Pinky" - very slim and attractive and could very easily be mistaken for a girl if you had had a few. He/she is often in Atrium mall and hangs out in Jaksa sometimes. I almost picked him up myself in Atrium once! Some places ban them, others ban them if they are wearing skirts (eg Stadium) and many places don't care. As a VERY rough guide, you will find maybe two or three in the average 5 star hotel club (eg 30 Bar) on a very busy night.

You can certainly do what Possessed Seoul suggests but of course that precludes the exitement of finding girls as you travel. In my experience of travelling in the areas you mention there is no problem at all finding girls during the day in bars, cafes and in the street. It's easier (I suspect) if you are bule as in relatively remote areas you will be something of a novelty. Funny, I just asked my secretary about Lebaran, one of the holiest and most religious muslim ladies I know.
She said, it's Idul Fitri in Malaysia and called Lebaran in Indonesia, but according to her it's the same day, 3rd November in both countries.Sorry, for delay of my reply (and for my bad English).
i think the misunderstanding was because you refer to the "day of Lebaran" and I refer to the "period of Lebaran". In Italy new year (Capodanno) is obviously 1st January, but the festivities ends on the 6th January when children take the gift (or coal) from the ugly and old lady (Befana).

I was originally supposed to be there by now (sob, sniff sniff..) but as usual circumstances have interfered with my pleasure schedule. Our company is undergoing a mild restructuring exercise with some investors taking a stake and, as usual, it's the small issues that seem to take everyone's time. However, the bright side of it is that they are would like me to go and vigorously seek business in Jakarta - hence more trips:) - what a hardship!
Net effect is that I'm now looking at 6th - 10th December, but some lost souls are asking me to postpone 'til 16th - 20th. Hmmm.... yes the other brain said, "Why not both?" but unfortunately it has been a heavy month financially and the purchase of a 40" LCD panel doesn't help. Anyone around on those dates? I'll reconsider the 2 trip idea if I can figure out how to rationalise the whole issue - and of course if the timing is better for you guys.

If your going down jl casablanca with ambasador mall on your right, keep going an take the centre lane flyover that goes over the top of sudirman (across Sudirman). As you come off the flyover you will see a building on your left saying Fortune spa and massage. Its pretty hard to miss. Let me know how you go. Almost forgot, my visit was 290k including 2 drinks. Regarding extras you must nego with the girl. I am sure that this price varies between girl as usual.

following a long flight from auckland, where i had to stop-over in bkk for a day i arrived at cgk airport, why because it was cheaper that way using two airlines for the round trip rather than several others one way.
please note: something i have just learnt is that when arriving here you will be given a visa upon entry (at a cost) but if you don’t have a whole spare page in your passport then you will be refused entry to the country. a chap with a ticket to jakarta was refused to be boarded on the aircraft in singapore because he did not have a whole free page in which to attach the visa. as i have only three free pages left i need to think about getting a new passport. the rules will be interpreted stringently at different airports if you are flying onto jakarta, so be careful.
sadly, i am only here for few days, for work matters and my colleague who is currently an expat out here when i asked him if he wanted anything from the uk said: “bring as many condoms as you can handle out here.” he promised to show me around and take me to the places where most people don’t usually go, so with that i was prepared for anything.
i was a little tired after travelling for a little on 27 hours, via bangkok, jakarta was definitely much hotter than auckland. i am staying in the mandarin and was setting up the internet connection in my room and the girl who comes to bring the modem box gets talking and says to me if there is anything i needed whilst in jakarta just call her and she then writes down her cell number and says no need to worry anything you need anything just call me anytime. i did debate about whether i should call her and ask if she could hook me up with a woman.
following some work and an evening meal we headed off to blok m where i hit two clubs one called my bar and the other didn’t seem to have a name in it, but only a couple of doors down or up from my bar we started off in there and then alternated between the bars, this being a monday and at only 10pm following the holidays here – it was not busy. the girls outweighed the guys by 3 to 1 but some of them looked a tad bit young for my taste. i saw a couple who were positively rough, and these ones were making long eye contact with me, i passed on them.
naturally i was pretending to be mr innocent until i could suss out my colleague, wondering if he was just a talker or a player? he said to me that “apparently” there is a web site which gives you all the information about the best places to go to for sex, called sex or travel something like that, but i didn’t take the bait and replied –“really?” he said some guy who was pissed in a bar one night told him all about it – ok so which one of you has been talking?
i am talking to my colleague who’s cell seems to be going off frequently and he jokes that he must have about six of these girls on the go here, we took a walk over to the ambhara hotel had a quick drink in the standford pub then went into where there is some live music, in the arios music lounge, there was a local band or group were singing some destiny’s child tunes and to be honest, like their philippino cousins, they were pretty good. he met this one girl who he informs me has a bit of a reputation ( i.e some old dog) and a couple of nights ago he was playing with her tits in the bar, then took her back to his place. we chat for a while as she asking me all these questions about myself, then him and stands there and says to him what are we doing tonight, he uses me as an excuse and says he showing me around town but will be back later. on the way back to blok m he explains that you have to watch out for these girls because they are looking to get their teeth into you.
we started off in my bar and at around 9.45pm it was still early here there were a couple of girls and every now and again a certain record would come up and a few girls with head onto the small makeshift stage and gyrate or shake their little booties in order to get the attention of the few guys in there. one girl, who looked about 18 in my books, who was dancing goes into the toilet then comes out and her hipster type trousers seemed a little lower and her thong seems to be rising higher than when she went in .
we return to a couple of bars in blok m and its still quieter as only a few girls are now coming into the clubs along with a more guys, one girl i spotted posing in my bar is now chatting with a guy that had recently come in and he buys her a drink they are obviously negotiating and once they agree a price the two of them get up and are off out of the club. at midnight my friend bales out saying if he doesn’t get away now, he never will as he’s been out every night; this now leave me flying solo. he warns me to only take the sliver bird or blue bird taxis as they are generally more reliable than the others and considerably safer. my colleague also warns me not to pay more than 300k (u$29/£17/€25) for any girl because that is the going rate, any more and they are talking advantage of a new face in town.
alone i go into a couple of the clubs and a couple of rough looking girls (hardened pros) try making conversation, but to be honest after 27 hours of travelling from new zealand, i am really not too fussed about catching anything tonight, on the way out i spot the skinny looking girl walking out, with her friend, ahead of me and ask where she is going, she says why are you asking me – i don’t know you. then asks me where my friend has gone, i said home and then said i will be going home also, she then says to come into the other bars with her and her friend. i walk in with them and she is off in the crowd, obviously looking at who’s around and then slowly returns in around three minutes and slides up beside me and says you like my friend? i said, i prefer you better, she responds ok how about me and my friend? i feign ignorance here and play the dumb tourist and she responds: “we go with you”, and i ask her how much her response is 500,000.00 each (u$49/£29/€42) short time! i laugh and say you are crazy, and counter with 500k for the both of them long time.
she then walks off and heads back into the crowd and is obviously, as its now well after midnight is scouting around for business, i see her talking to another guy further down the bar, but he is with some other girls and she comes back slides up beside me again and says “ok”, so i say “ok what?” and she replies, up to you, so ask her straight out if she means that for the two of them they will accept 500k? she response its ok, 500k each and i laugh at her again, like she’s crazy then she produces her cell phone and shows me a picture of herself in a bikini and claims she’s a model. if she’d had told me she was school girl i might have believed that? then she points to some calendar behind the bar and says she was miss june, then calls to one of the bar staff to turn the calendar to june where the picture she showed me on her cell phone is displayed – like somehow i am suppose to be so impressed and taken back that i would agree to pay these girls a million rupee (u$98/£58/€84) for their services. my response is ok that’s nice, and then she responds once again with “ok up to you”, as she glances around the bar for some other sucker who’s prepared to shell out that amount.
i caught the eye of some other girls and tried to talk to them but to be honest they were not all that interested judging by their negative responses, by now there were a few other girls and guys coming in all the time and the place was starting to fill up and the time was now half past midnight and i had to think about turning in as i was quite tired now, with only 4 hours sleep in the last 27 hours. so i quickly have a quick scout around to see if there was anything of interest to me, nope!
i walk outside hop into silver bird taxi and then as to return to my hotel, the driver asks me, why i am going home alone, i say to sleep and he responds if i don’t like the girls there, i say they are ok, but to be honest nothing really caught my eye to that extent. he asks if i like girls (excuse me! my name is not dashing don/ tee it off or whatever he's calling himself these days) i say of course i like girls, he asks again, why you go home alone, you don’t like girls? i explain again i didn’t see anything that really caught my eye or rock my world i ask if he’s got one for me? we then circle around from the bars pulls up and he says "look some girl", one girl who is reasonable come to the car after he beckons her over and she leans in, short but a nice pair of tits, she cannot speak much if any english and through the driver we agree a price of 300k (u$29/£17/€25), on the way to the hotel she asks, through the driver, if i need to buy some condoms i said i always travel with a trusty supply but i gesticulate a blow job and she agrees enthusiastically.
we get back to mandarin hotel, i give the taxi driver a tip then negotiate the security checks, as the guys their give my approval about my choice of girl, they are all smiles; its after 1am and i send her into the bathroom to shower, whilst i am busily locking up all my shit of any value, apart from my camera and laptop in the room safe, but after twenty minutes she is still in the bathroom so i knock on the door and find her having a cigarette, great considering that i am on a non-smoking floor here,

Nice FR J. The reason she asked you to walk her down is to minimise security hassles. Some hotels will check if the hotel guest is ok before allowing her to leave; other security personnel will also hassle her for some of her hard earned money (at least from your description;)). By getting you to walk her out, she manages to leave with her earnings intact. Enjoy your stay.

arrived in Jakarta yesterday afternoon on a flight from DPS. Had not picked a place to stay, so checked into the kiosk inside the airport for a room. hilton was fulll, so the girl set me up at APPARTEMEN KUNNINGAN. 500K or so, including 2 ABF, turns out I needed 3.
A nice 2 bedroom apartment, living room, kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms.
It is located accross from the 4 Seasons hotel. i have no idea if that is a good location or not, as I never left the room for the reasons below.

I grabbed a couple of hour sleep since I am being picked up here at 7.15am sharp to go off to meetings and beat the traffic so to speak. However, I found this day very tiring I have been to meetings and have met people and nearly drifted off, so at the end of the day I simply came back to my room at 4.30pm and went straight to bed to catch up on some rest here, before going out for the night again. I went out to a coffee shop at around 8pm and was having a cappuccino to help me make it through the night when a girl beckoned me over to come and sit with her, after she had been staring at me for a while. I declined because of time factors, but did say to her another time maybe but thank you anyway.
After some making notes this evening I went to an upmarket club in Jakarta (I think) in the basement of the Shangri-la Hotel called:B.A.T.S (www.shangri-la.com/jakarta/shangri-la/restaurants/en/index.aspx?ID=1475) costs 60K (U$6/£3/€5) entrance with one free drink; if you are not a resident in the hotel, although several colleagues in Jakarta told me they had memberships. The manager who is the bald Canadian guy, Marc, I think he’s called, is a pleasant chap came over and had a chat, as I expect he does with most new faces in town. Another mixed raced women also said hello, but I believe she might have also worked there also.
On the night they had a Canadian band playing, sorry didn’t get the name, which had four girls singing, they were nice enough but either they didn’t have a sound check that evening or what but their singing was somewhat duff, pleasant enough to look at. I found the singers in the Arios Music lounge were much better sounding, my personal opinion. Having visited several live music places, I have to take my hat off to the Philippino singers because they can sing.
B.A.T.S is the type of place where the action doesn’t start going until 10pm before then its much quieter, after 45 minutes inside a couple of girl had pulled up beside me with their designer hand bags, clutching a mobile phone stuck in the palms of their hands. Soon the ladies were pushing up closer to me on the right of me and on the left hand side. We started off with the general hello, do you mind if I leave this here, etc.
Observing the girls from the way they were acting obviously on the look out for a mark, what I did notice which was a bit concerning is that every time they ordered a round of drinks, they would pay for these with their credit card, which is strange, because for every round there is a transaction charge and the drinks are certainly not that expensive that they could have brought cash. But in my first few hours in the country few things I have observed is the wide range of international brands available here, the amount of different ATMs and the long queues in front of them.
If you want to learn something about the average Indonesian mentality just observe from a distance people at ATMs, I could not understand why people are at the ATMs for such a long time, compared to other countries l have visited, the reason is they will have five or six cards and try several of them until they get out some money – So What? Well this tells me that they are obviously maxing out their cards to live the good life that they can ill afford.
I got chatting with a couple of girls, but by now it was fast approaching midnight and I was weary about getting too friendly with some of them, since most girls seem to be in groups of threes and I didn’t want to be some sucker who says: “ let me buy you girls something to drink” as I could imagine they would switch from the usual cheap drinks to the expensive stuff. As I had no plans to spend the night with any girl, whilst here, only short time encounters only. So fast approaching 1am I bailed out of BATS as I am treating this as information gathering for when I return later. If you have time and patience I would say you could find GFE here, if you are confident plus dress and act the part.

Good report and interesting to get a "newcomer's" perception about BATS and other places. I note that you didn't report any quoted prices for girls in BATS - I guess you didn't get that far. If you had, it would have been $100 US for sure from the girls you describe. I think the "deal" you got was probably a better one, albeit, as you remark, the BATS girls were maybe better looking.
About the race question - as I've said before, there is a degree of intolerance of black men but it's not all that significant and as you say, if you are "well presented" - which they interpret as having money - it makes no difference. Also many girls prefer black men so I don't think there is too much chance of you "missing out"!
I just landed a few hours ago, and boy is the jetlag starting to set in. I hope to get a decent massage and nap before venturing out. If Junior is still in town (and reading the forum), drop me a PM.
On my way in, I always make mental plans to do this that and the other thing, but once I get situated in the hotel, I tend to get really lazy...maybe a foray to CJ's, maybe BATS, or maybe just call one of the known GFE numbers I've assembled. Junior mentioned the doubts about how race comes into play. I can only report that one black guy I know has 3 and 4 girls on his arm at all times. It isn't the color of his skin, but the color of his money. He's also a fun guy, so surely that comes into play.

Smoothy - I was there last month and it was still the same as I've reported previously. Lots of girls around - "urchin" types as I think of them - but as always they were being snapped up in seconds, literally, by older local guys. I was with someone at the time so I wasn't actively hunting but for sure, there were a lot around. The time was 4pm -5pm which is a good time. Action starts around 1pm as a rule. I reckon I saw 5 or 6 in the hour and as always there were maybe twice that many "lower profile" ones.

Which reminded me of an incident that happened during one of my previous visits to Jakarta - I reported on this before, but don't recall ever reading any responses or comments from others about this place:
One evening, I went to Hotel Sentral in Jakarta Timur, turned out to be sort of a scam place. Walked up two floors above the lobby, found 25 girls in a "fishbowl," learned that the deal was 45,000 rupiah per hour, 2 hour minimum, the girl had to stay with you either in a karaoke room or in a booth in the dark bar/club, but couldn't leave that floor of the hotel.
Picked a cute 19 year old who spoke almost no English and spent some time in a karaoke room with her. I got to play around with her tits and legs a bit (with her clothes on), a lot like teenagers, but it didn't look as if anything more would happen - all she wanted to do was sing. I suppose that the girl might have been willing to give HJ or BJ once we were sitting in the dark bar (after the hour in the karaoke room was up), but I wasn't sure, and her English was crappy, so I gave up after 45 minutes and decided to cut my losses.

Chinese girls are much more expensive than Indonesian girls. Those Chinese girls come in two kinds. The local ones and the "ïmported" ones. The latter are of course more expensive. The part of Jakarta to look for them is the Kota/Mangga Besar district. Lokasari (a kind of shopping arcade) at Mangga Besar is a good place to start. Try Milles over there. Other places are Millenium, hotel Golden at jl Gunung Sahari and places the cab drivers know. Think about US 100,- for rate.

The procedure with this company is you have to text your request to them and they will text you back to confirm. I specifically said that she should be attractive and have a good body. Following the call, about 45 minutes later I receive the following text: “Her name is Emi can you wait her in the lobby, she can speak English” However I didn’t want to wait as I was busy writing up some notes for my post. Ten minutes later I receive a second call saying the girl is in the lobby waiting. You must mean "in your Stadium room", because if it's in your own hotel room I would say you're in big trouble, what with the paranoid anti-drugs campaigns now afoot. I was told that quite a few girls have died in Stadium and the story is that the bodies got disposed of without police involvement, which doesn't really surprise me after all the eerie stories I've heard about Stadium. I spoke personally to Stadium girls who had overdosed. They told me the mamasans arranged things with the hospital so that the police wasn't involved. Useful people, the mamasans! Reading XXL’s words has prompted me to write about yesterday evening; his points apply to b) and c) below.
I checked into the Mandarin Oriental and immediately walked over to the narrow road between Sogo/Plaza Indonesia and Ascott Apts. to buy some bottled drinking water. Here’s what happened during that short trip:
a) crossed over to the now-closed Hotel Indonesia. One minute later a decent-looking girl, mid-20s, was walking in the opposite direction, smiled at me and stopped to talk, but she didn’t appear to speak any English, so I smiled back and kept walking
b) a minute later, I was walking opposite Sogo/PI when a guy swooped in on his motorcycle, handed me a business card that said “Entertainment – Girls 24 hours – call Gordon” and some phone numbers. I said no thanks and continued to walk (yes, I kept the card, no, I didn’t call)
c) bought my water and started walking back, this time on the sidewalk in front of Sogo/PI. An orange Honda Element pulled over next to me; inside was an ok-looking girl who yelled out “hello” so I leaned in through the passenger-side side window. She was smoking up a storm and seemed a little wired on something (ecstasy?), so once again I smiled and said no thanks, and continued walking back to the Mandarin.
All this in less than 15 minutes!

Normally I could care less what nickname someone would want to use on ISG, but in this case I have to agree with Menteng. That was earlier in the week and this being my final night in Jakarta I thought OK 600K for three hours, for information gathering purposes why not give it a whirl.
The procedure with this company is you have to text your request to them and they will text you back to confirm. I specifically said that she should be attractive and have a good body. Following the call, about 45 minutes later I receive the following text: “Her name is Emi can you wait her in the lobby, she can speak English” However I didn’t want to wait as I was busy writing up some notes for my post. Ten minutes later I receive a second call saying the girl is in the lobby waiting. I go down to the lobby and as its around 10pm it was usually empty and fortunately there is only one girl waiting, so there is no chance of me insulting a regular girl waiting for her boyfriend or relatives, by me assuming that she must be a hooker.
One look at this girl, Emi and I thought W-T-F she looked mousey, aged about 19/20 and was basically a scrapping a 5 being generous, very generous. On top of this she was dressed quite oddly in some green military type jacket and the rest of her outfit was black trousers and top. She must have known about only ten words of English.
