I agree 100% with the points you make - certainly it is possible to find girls who are not just looking for cash. It has to be said however, that maybe the key reason is that they already have it from someone else. In fact the last time I was in Jakarta I found such a girl (old by my standards at 30) but still with a perfect body (for me). I met her in 30 bar when I was with another girl and then met her the following night for dinner, after which I had a really excellent session and it was quite clear she didn't want paying. A brief report on a different approach that I haven't seen described here: I picked up a copy of "Lampu Merah" (Red Light) on the street, and called a few of the numbers in the "Pijat" (massage) section. Helps to know Indonesian, as more than a few of the numbers listed are for guys, and I doubt that the female providers know much English--these ads are aimed at the local population. Some of the ads assure the reader that the provider "really does know how to give a massage", so you can guess, I suppose, that many don't know basic massage services!. After a few no-answers, one young lady picked up, we discussed services and price (350K for 3 hours), and she agreed to come to my hotel. Noting my accent, she asked, 'where are you from', and then said that the price is higher for 'bule'--600K instead of 350K. Reason: larger equipment. When I said, politely, that this was neither fair nor acceptable, she relented, but then was late arriving. I called another young lady, who arrived within 30 mins and provided an excellent and determined BBBJTC. She wasn't especially good looking, but service was excellent, and she was quite GFE.

It was my first visit to this place after reading a lot about it on the forum. Well I very much disappointed. I reached there at around 8:40 pm. Regarding R-19, the owner was a gorgeous female, but she does not give services, the rest were all average or below average. Regarding R-29, it is for the gays I suppose, because after I entered it I was showed the photographs of some guys & there were only guys sitting out there. Regarding R-39, it had those ladyboy type females but am not sure because I left that place with a quick glance and seemed uninterested. I finally went to R-47, there I opted for a girl named Faizia, and in the middle of the service she started to ask how much I would pay for the whole way through. I stuck to the normal tipping standards of Rp.50,000 to which she did not agree. I finally left the place after just the massage.
Yes regarding R-30, it seemed to be closed at that time. Well maybe my bad experience might be due to the reason that I turned up late, but in all I would still say that my first visit to the place was very unfruitful.

Alas time constraints and turn of interest...I was only able to complete the lowcost part of the plan.
I started out at the familiar TC at lokasari. Just awesome again. Place is a dump...but price is unbeatable. 210K room and gal plas 20K entry.
And for one reson or another...always have a great expeirence here.
Anyway guys I was with was surprised with my knowledge of the JKT nightlife..even though i am just a visitor. I think I have touched their pride and they wanted to show me something I don't know. Because it was the lowcost night....I ended up at BANDENGAN near Jembatan Tiga.(jembatan dua is also close..but to dangerous)
I thought TC was cheap...but this place defined what cheap was to me. 175k for gal plus room or 195K for a FL.
And this place is no dump. IMO it was better than panjay places.A place known only to locals.
In this area/street were like 4 massage/karaoke places. Loaded with gals. Gal quality is really good...you see the girls already booked. definite 8+s gals.
It was around 10 and the available gals are OK..but not great. Max 7.5+.
The best alrerady booked for KTV sessions etc.(if I had more time..I'd prefer doing this. I think you can pretty much do everything except with a gal in teh KTV)

I think it's very rare that a good girl goes to Bats. I'm not saying they don't go there. But it's very rare. The "good girls" who do go there on occasion normally have a bit of a bad girl tendency to them anyway. They may not be hard core prostitutes, but they walk on the wild side occassionally. If you want a true good girl, you have to meet them either at the office, a shopping mall, a movie theater, or at places like the restaurants at Setiabudi or Citos. You might even find one at a place like Barbados if you insist on going the nightclub route. But a "good girl" at Bats? Not very often.

Because frankly I don't know how to get there. I get driven around when i am tehre and I am absolute crap with directions in jakarta.The guys I was with bought me there.(ps not in country anymore otherwise would love to further explore JKT with you)

If you are really a noob in Jakarta my advice is just to hang around the manga besar, lokasari area that's easily to be found. There's already so many options here...even I haven't tried them all. Crap...i haven't even visited them all. ;-)
The price is here slightly higher, but for us foreigners no problem...the price/quality here just can't be beaten.
PS a couple of mamies have offered wares here. From girls living close by. Price for chinese 500K and for locals as low as 150k.
You can take them to your hotel or even do them at their place!!

I think Smoothy is pretty accurate in his comments. We can only generalise and of course it depends on what we mean by "good girls". If for example we meant jilbab-wearing muslim girls, quite obviously we aren't going to find them in clubs and such places - but of course the chances of "scoring" with them is pretty remote wherever we find them. I think what we mean by "good girls" is girls who are certainly not hookers in any sense, probably have a good job and/or rich parents and/or generous benefactor, but for reasons of fun, curiousity, wanting a husband or whatever (but not short term money) can be picked up - with the right approach. The latter point is important; blundering in, in all-too typical bule yobbish style won't work.
Undoubtedly such girls can occassionally be found in BATS, 30, CJ's but it is the exception rather than the rule. Certainly it would unwise to go there "expecting" to find one. Vertigo and other more upmarket clubs would be a better bet. But realistically, they are likely to be in a group with other men so fathoming out what's going on and getting into conversation will not be easy - but it can be done.
A far better way is to find them when they are working - I've mentioned before that the Stock Exchange is an ideal place to pick up girls with a good job. Best to go in wearing a smart suit (NB Panya!). Malls at lunch time is good as well - especially PI and PS.

From Pluit, go staright, U see Bimoli Oil on your right and Termatik Hotel on the left, go straight, down toward Taman Anggrek. It's the row of ruko on the left just 200 meter before the Cetra Land Mall.

Just a few pics to give you all a flavor for how it is to hunt at the Atrium Mall. This place has variable talent and, as mentioned in previous reports, you have to be quite discreet as to not attract the attention of mall security.
When I was there this past weekend, there was a model contest (Pic #1) going on, so it was really easy for people to gather at the railings to watch from above.
I usually like to prowl around the circular railing overlooking the kiddy rides at the KFC end. (Pic #2) It is easy for talent (Pics #3-6) to gather and look down without gathering too much attention. I'm not saying all these girls are available, but this is the way that they hang out - usually with a friend or in groups of 3 or 4. If you stand next to them and they smile at you, you have a chance. If not, better not to bother them, especially if you can't speak Bahasa.

Friggin mini-scams are just annoying. : mad: AR, why not take Bus Damri? Much cheaper than those taxis.
I don't know where Sheraton Media is located in JKT but say it's near Stasiun Gambir, than you pay Rp 20K (one way) when you go by Bus Damri to Stasiun Gambir. Arriving at Gambir, hail a cab (with meter) and off you go.

I was in Indonesia in June. Flew into Jakarta by Thai Air after a week in BKK. Before going to Jakarta, I had PMed Ebowan and he agreed to meet with me and hang out. I arrived at the airport and immediately made a rookie mistake. As I was walking out, some asshole came and asked if I wanted a taxi. I said "no, I am looking for a Blue Bird taxi" (most reliable one in Indonesia). The guy was wearing some official looking ID tag, light blue shirt and dark blue plants and says "sure, I have a Blue Bird taxi." Assuming he was telling the truth, I went with him and he charged me 130,000 Rp. from the airport to the hotel. I would say this is more than twice what it costs by meter. If you ever go to Jakarta (as I learned later), walk outside and there is a taxi stand with taxis from various companies. Wait for one from Blue Bird and they will meter (with 9000 Rp surcharge for airport). Anyway, the guy dropped me off at the hotel. After showering and resting for a while, I decided to go to Blok M. I had read in the forum about the Transjakarta Busway. This is really great (next best thing to a subway or skytrain). This is a regular bus with its own dedicated lane. So, it stops only for read lights. The traffic in Jakarta is very bad; therefore this is a real good deal. The bus costs 3500 Rp (~30 cents US) flat rate. It goes all the way from north Jakarta to Blok M. I asked the hotel receptionist about where to get the bus and walked there. The neighborhood was horrible – full of open sewers, road side cafes and motorcycle repair shops. However, the hotel is practically across from Lokasari Mall which has a famous massage parlor; it is also close to several other massage places.
Anyway, walked for a while and got the bus, got off at Blok M (terminal) and looked for a place to eat. After a while, I found a mall with a Pizza Hut and ate there. Came out and could not figure out where the Blok M bars were. Flagged down a taxi and guy did not know what I was talking about. After a lot of fuss with many people involved, another taxi was flagged down (with an English speaking driver) and he knew where to take me. Finally made it to the bars around 8 PM and went to My Bar. The ground floor was empty but the bartender suggested I go upstairs (which was nearly empty). Had a beer and wondered where the hell all the girls I heard about were (I was eager to do my first Indo girl!). After a while a couple of drunk as shi Korean guys walked in and started to fight with each other! Not a good start for my trip! I would like to contribute my report from Beverly Hills Spa. Thanks to Mongerxx for his accurate description of its location, I found it just fine.
It is my first time in Jakarta, this place is not exactly pleasant. Traffic and pollution will take your breath away. When I got off the Transjakarta bus at Kota, I sucked in a lot of exhaust. I followed Mongerexx's advice (in the reports of distinction) and found Beverly Hill Hotel and Spa. I went at around 4pm on a weekday and it was already crowded in the parking lot! Filled with nice european brand autos and SUVs. I was happy because it told me this was where rich Jakarta men spent their afternoons. Lucky bastards!
I was impressed - lockers, showers, sauna, steam room were all great. When you are ready for your massage, you go into the next room. Standard rooms are 150,000 IDR for 90 min. VIP rooms are 250,000 IDR. I went with a standard room. There are numbers of the girls on the wall. No pictures. The attendant asked me what I wanted - thin or big breasts. I chose thin.
I was taken to the room and met my massage girl, number 8. I think her name was Wena? Cute and lean, good for me. She gave me a very good massage, I was really happy. Finally discussion of special service, FS was quoted at 700,000. Got it down to 500,000. Ok for me. I really liked her, she told me she was 19, she looked it. She was really GFE. On my last trip to JKT, I stayed at the Sheraton Media on Jl Gunung Sahari. On previous stays I had been on the Gn Sahari side (facing the pool and Lokasari). This time I was on the side facing Jl Industri, so had a bird's eye view of Industri 9-11. Snapped a couple pics which show the honeycomb structure of the rukos (apartments) inside the building. One thing I learned: to bypass the pesky guards, go up the steps to the immediate left of the parking attendant's booth (from the entrance under the lime green sign). Once you go up the stairs, you just go towards the rear to the first ruko honeycomb... in that pocket there are three rukos in business, so hard to miss. Check out my previous report for more detail on Jl Industri action.

I visited here a few weeks ago, sat and chatted with the mamasan for a while, who told me that she was in charge of the local freelancers--price 700K incuding room and service. I think it depends on what kind of quality you want from the hotel. Melawaii is pretty low stars wise. It is close to the Blok M bars, but you are still more likely to take a taxi at night than walk, especially being new there, but walking won't really make sense safety wise and with a woman in tow. Are you paying for the hotel or your company? For about 200k or more, you can do a lot better. This hotel is famous for it's massage parlor and it's proximity to two shopping malls and the bars. It's great if you want to walk over to the karaoke bars at night. Before Lintas was right next door, but it's not even a shadow of it's former self if it's still going. If you are going to need a taxi anyway, you might want to consider something of a higher quality.

To get there just ask any taxi to take you Classic Hotel on Jalan Smanhudi, Pasar Baru. Have the taxi drop you off at the entrance to the parking garage. You will see an entrance to a shopping center. As you enter, you will see a coffee café in the middle of the mall and a Korean restaurant. You should be able to easily locate the stairs leading one floor down. At the bottom of the stairs, you can’t miss the entrance to Classic Spa. Inside the door you will find a reception, just say you want a massage and the will give a key and number on a bracelet.
Inside your locker you will find a clamp with a numbered tag for your lock. You can put that on your shoes and give them to the attendant, and he will shine your shoes for you. Here you will get a very room set of shorts and robe. After changing you have the option to hit the sauna facilities, or go to the lounge. Actually you don’t have to change you clothes at all and you can just go to the lounge (there are actually two) and party in your street clothes.
In the sauna, they have a very well appointed steam room, dry sauna, Jacuzzi, and cold dip pool. There are also some cardio machines and some lounge chairs you can chill and watch TV, have drinks and chat. There is also a shower area as well. The facilites here are very nice and first rate.
When you are ready, you go to the first lounge. In here someone will meet you, and I believe this is where the regular massage booking station is. This lounge has a very dim sitting area with several very large screen TV’s. Here you can order some snacks and drinks. Further inside this room there is a pool table surrounded by sofa seating. On my first visit, this is where the local Freelancers and Body Massage girls were. In addition to regular massage you can opt for more explicit sexual services (although I am sure most regular massage girls offer differing degrees of sexual services too – but you can’t see them before you pick them.) Of the local girls available there were two classes. First there were the Body massage girls where for 550K you got 90 minutes of regular massage, and oily body to body massage, and sex. They also had local FL girls who charged 700 or 800K for a 90 minute session of straight sex. Personally, while there were certainly some attractive girls in FL’ers they weren’t anything more attractive than what you could find in typical knocking shops. They BM girls selection consisted of 8-12 girls of which most could not make it. However, on both my visits I did manage to pick attractive girls who had tremendous racks.
At this point a mamasan will probably ask you if you would like a Chinese or Uzbek girl. If you express any interest, they will usher you through a labyrinth of hallways of rooms until you enter a second large lounge. With all due respect, I'm sure that Sophie was great and that you had a fantastic session with her at your hotel. Jakarta is filled with hot girls like Sophie.
But unfortunately you over-paid tremendously if you paid her 1,600,000 rupiah, especially since she only stayed a couple of hours and didn't even spend the night with you. Unless Sophie is in the category of a supermodel, the usual going rate for a short time session is 300,000 to 400,000 rupiah (often less!), depending on the girl. Maybe 500,000 rupiah since you had two rounds with her, but certainly no more than that.
Have you ever heard of negotiating? Remember, it's not as if you're shopping at the supermarket where the prices are fixed. Sophie's request was her "opening bid" so to speak; you could have easily negotiated her down to the 300-500K price range within seconds, especially if you had started to walk away from her - if she loses you as a customer, realistically she might not find another customer the rest of the evening.
I'm not trying to slam you, just trying to save you some money, also ultimately your actions will hurt the market for the rest of us. This is a Jakarta newbie report. As a Chinese Malaysian my experience might be different from that of a bule. Asian is looked upon differently from my conversation with the locals, but you still get your fair share of girls here not to worry, :). As a Chinese you look Japanese or Korean to the cewek, and while you normally do not draw attention quickly as compare to when a bule entering an establishment or walking in the street, the Indonesian people will notice you eventually, even in the pitch dark environment of a disco or pub. (A) 14th Sept, Arriving:
I arrived on a late AirAsia flight from KL, reaching the CGK Airport at about 330pm. If you are new to town, my advice is that you should do your best to avoid reaching Jakarta airport after 3pm. You will experience the massive "macet" (jam) going into South, North, Central or whatever, coming out of the airport. Also, just change enough money at the airport to last you till you reach the city (something in the region of 300K), the rate in the city is much better. If you have a cell phone, you should get a prepaid pack in the city, not in the airport. The price in the airport is crazy! Be a nice guest while in the immigration; I saw 2 Malaysian Ladies, screaming at the immigration guard for backing too often to their butt (really) much to their dislike at the queue, got called into the small room without even having their passport stamped. What happened to them, your guess is as good as mine.
If you have not gotten yourself a hotel, you should. While collecting your luggage you can book a nice hotel with Kaha travel agency. Often if you did not pre-book your hotel in advance, you will have problem getting a good room at a good price.
I was collected by couple of biz partners, and they got me to Ambhara in Blok M. While I like the hotel, and it is very close to Jalan Pelatehan, I switched to Melawai 1 the next day as I believe I can get myself closer to the action, and it is not far from Jalan Palatehan too. I would have gotten Losari Hotel if not for its full house situation.
Anyway, this day was a boring meeting and dinner day, and I got back to the Ambhara in 1 piece, which is bad news ;D very late and I called it a night as I was still reeling from the 3 hour macet.
(B) 15th Sept,
Morning is the usual thing, 9 to 5 we had meeting and visit to partners around town (Urg! The horrible Jakarta traffic again!) I excused myself from the dinner, and check in to Melawai 1 at about 7pm. Cleaned up and straight I head for dinner, but somehow the lift stop itself at 6th floor ;). Well, what to do, follow the sign and here I am at Maribaya Lounge. The business was a bit thin at 815pm, there were 5 bules and an Indian me think drinking at the bar, and I sit myself at the bar and got a Bintang. If you can find Hotel Ambhara, walk towards the bus terminal bus exit with Ambhara on your right and Blok M Mall on your left. You then need to negotiate your way across the wide road full of cars, bikes, and also buses exiting the bus terminal. Walk 100m down this dodgy looking road (at night), and you will see a left turn off to another main road. Turn here, and another 50m the Jalan Pelatehan spartan “iron gateway” beckons you.
(C) At Jalan Pelatehan, a Non-Bule Experience:
First stop is D’s Place. This place has got 2 stories. I had a quick look at the ground level pub and almost all males are bule. Deciding I do not want to check the first floor (which you should), I went over to Top Gun. Top Gun has a more mix crowd, and I must admit this is my favourite pub out of 4 pubs which I have visited. I hang out for an hour at Top Gun, and played pools with the locals and cewek. The staffs are friendly and efficient, and the price is good (30K for a Bintang). I got hit by a couple of girls, I chatted with them but I want to survey the place more before deciding.
There were a couple of amateur looking gals which open to possibility and are pretty hot. At about 11pm, I strolled to My Bar (still too early for girls) and then to Oscar (not many people). Not happy with what I see at these 2 places, I return to D’s Place to check out the upper level. This is where all the hotter events take place, I presume. You are absolutely correct. There is no good reason to pay anything like that amount in Jakarta. I have never ever paid more than 350K, although there are plenty of girls (especially in places like BATS) that try to get more.
Go to somewhere like 1001 and you're sure to get charged huge amounts but IMHO the girls on offer there are no better than anywhere else, just more full of themselves. Chinese and Russian girls also charge a hell of a premium, but I'm not interested in them personally.
If you have the time, inclination and opportunity, I still think that hooking up with ordinary girls through chat sites or pay websites is the best and most interesting option. Was in the area Tuesday afternoon, so I stopped by the MPs in Kelapa Gading. All 4 of them are in the same block area - Sumo Shiatsu, Monggo Mas, Delta and MTR2, and all of them will be closed beginning Saturday 23 September until after Ramadan (meaning they'll still be open on Friday).

Unless Sophie is in the category of a supermodel, the usual going rate for a short time session is 300,000 to 400,000 rupiah (often less!), depending on the girl. Maybe 500,000 rupiah since you had two rounds with her, but certainly no more than that.
I would say that 1.6 juta is the right amount to pay when u take a girl back from the KTV. Dulexe is one of the most expensive KTV in Jakarta when it first opened years back.

To be honest - 10 million per month will be a lot for many common indonesians, but girls operating in the bars can make this, and more, on their own, without much of a problem. I got to respectfully disagree here. I spent about a year and a half spending two weekends a month over in Batam and made a couple of excursions to Balai. There are some good times, some great girls, and reasonable prices over there. However, since I have started going to Jakarta every month I never go to Riau anymore.
The truth is there are lot more younger, more beautiful, and excellent service providing girls in Jakarta than in Riau. In Jakarta you can always get a stunner, with great attidue and service. As for the quality in Riau, there are some very nice young women without kids but you are gonna have to put in a lot of search. The vast majority of the stock is older, chubby, single mommy types. Otherwise you will have to pay another 30-50K for a ST room. You can spend the same amounts in Jakarta. You can get 100-125K onsite ST around Muwardi for a slightly better caliber of girl than Riau booking joints. Of course you get really stunning girls and great service around Kota for 180-260K. Blok FL I pay 150-200K for ST. Of course their is a whole other higher end venues available in Jakarta, not available in Riau, in terms of deluxe health spas, karaoke, and nightclubs.
However, I will say that the Discos in Batam offer way way better FL action than you find in the same types of Discos in Jakarta.
My comments focus solely on the girlie action. In Batam, and especially Balai, there just isn't shit to do, Although the pujesara's are a lot fun and have decent not great food. It was a long day for many of us at work, and I finally got back to Golden Boutique Melawai in good time at about 6pm. I would like to mentioned briefly that this hotel has good location and value for money. Its windowless deluxe room is 305K with BF from KAHA, food are good, in room safe, while outside the hotel are many Japanese restaurants and karaoke if you are game. Melawai 1 (with 6th Floor Maribaya Lounge) is just 100m around the corner, and the airport Damri bus stop is 5 min walk away.
However the hotel lacks gym and swimming pool. Internet (just 3 PC) is free at business centre from 11am till 6pm, after which we are charged 25k per 30 min block. The Junior Suite is 580K from KAHA, and is quite nice too. One of the girls, Ika, insisted that I shagged her at the sofa and on the table...my apology if one of you find a wobbly-leg coffee table ;) in room 618 at Golden Boutique Melawai next time you stay there. Service is good and they have security personnel at every floor.
OK so back to my evening. I was thinking of having a drink at Top Gun again and then head to CJ's since Wednesday is a Ladies night. Somehow I was just too lazy to travel all the way to the North side so my first trip to CJ did not materialise. Anyway, my first stop was Oscar as I have promised the waitress (Lany Francesca, anyone here know her too?) I will take her pic on my digital camera. You seem concerned about paying your Blok M girl 400K. While I am not a big fan of Blok M in general, my limited experience there has led me to the conclusion that 400K for an overnight stay is not at all out of line, especially if the girl is a true hottie and delivers for you. While the ex-pat residents might pride themselves on paying less, doesn't mean that's the pricing for the better looking girls and to the general visiting public. Personally, I have had a My Bar girl get ROYALLY pissed off when I took her all the way back to Sparks hotel and generously (I thought) handed her 300K when she informed me that she was leaving after round 1. I have no doubt that may be atypical of Blok M girls, most probably DON'T have that attitude, but for those claiming that all-nighter pricing for hotties there is still a MAX of 300K, you must be far studlier than I am.

Jakarta is not the easiest nut to crack, especially with ZERO language skills -- as I've said before, I had a good guide on my first several trips (and not one that posts here advertising for customers to show them around the bule rip-off joints, either). I really envy those that can speak at least conversational Bahasa Indonesia, as I'm sure it makes the range of experiences so much greater. But as a guy who speaks about FOUR FRICKIN WORDS of Indonesian, I still gotta say that those that ONLY frequent the beaten bule path in Jakarta are really missing out, overpaying for severely dumbed down quality. And gotta repeat how lame I think it is about the middle-aged 'playboys' who think duping some semi-pro into a session is some sort of coup. If you've been coming to Jakarta for years and think that the best you can do is the 5* hotel bars, Blok M and the occasional semi-pro freelancer hanging out at malls and/or chat sites looking for a sugar daddy, you have missed out on some truly BALLS-DEEP fun. Well-known that the girls in Kota and Pangjay are younger and cheaper than those in blok M, but necessarily more skilled. Indeed there are a range of experiences to be had here, whether one speaks indonesian or not.
The idea here is to share experiences, not run down those who may prefer a certain area of town or type of girl.

I know only one advertiser in this thread and funny enough, the places you mentioned (and many, many more) are also included in his tours. Beside that, he also shows places that are more expensive. I mean, for everybody expensive, not just for tight budgetted mongerers like you and me. So talking about bule rip-off joints may give the wrong impression about him. It is just that he shows the whole range from cheap to very expensive and it is up to you which one you will visit (without him).

But I have rarely encountered people in this hobby that actually prefer to pay more for older, wider, single mommy types. The places catering to bule mongers are the paths of least resistance in Jakarta, and IMO, those of you that are limiting your mongering to Blok M and the 5-star hotel bars are really missing out on the true gems of Jakarta. That some you have been apparently been going there regularly for years, yet STILL stick to those places, it makes me just shake my head and think a wake up call might be in order.
I think I said the same things and got the same resistance several months back. It may be better off to just shut up and just let 'to each their own' rule. But for those reading this forum, it is my very strong opinion that the Chinatown brothels offer waaay more bang for the buck and the girls are simply younger and hotter than most places where the clientele is mostly visitors and not locals. The short time brothels offer stunning girls, the session quality is remarkably high for the looks, quality, attitude delivered, and the price tends to be a LOT better than what people in more hyped destinations around Asia are paying. It could be argued that Jakarta is one of the best mongering destinations in the WORLD for laying multiple hot girls without drama and at reasonable prices.

I was not only concern about paying 400k to the last girl I had in Jakarta, I am afraid that it is tad too high. SPG here earns about 1.2-1.5 million even in the classy Pasaraya Grande (I chat them up and asked, also a Taxi man told me about the same thing). One night with me and she is earning 1 week salary of what a hard working people would. If you follow me then I would say the market is driven up by visitors and that is why you would not find many locals here (in Pelatehan), perhaps stopping by for a drink and pool. At least I did not see in total more than 20 male locals on my 3 different days here (Friday, Tuesday and Wednesday).
It is on the same ground that here in Malaysia not many locals would go to Beach Club (a popular pick up pub for Pinoy, Indon, and even PRC) to pick up girls but yes to have a drink.
I enjoy Porker previous reports on Kota and China town but I do not have enough time to tour these places. I am due to visit this place again, perhaps I will choose to stay at North Jakarta and see for myself. And Porker you are right about the languange handicap, and if you can accept that then you can see it is not a big issue if many of us choose to visit Blok M and BATS and so on, especially some of us are just here for 4-5 days per visit and most of us are here for work hence only be available ;) after 6 pm.

As I always enjoy a good massage followed by a happy ending of some sort, I thought I would summarize my experiences at a few places that I haven't seen reviewed here, plus one, Fortune, which is fairly often reviewed. None of these places are knocking shops like Melawai, Penjay, TC, etc, so don't go there expecting to laid, as you probably won't.
Fortune: number system, can't see the girls, but the customer relations girls will find one of the size and shape you specify. Facilities are nice, massage always good, and HJ always in the offing. In 5 visits, received full service once. I think this just depends upon the girl, and maybe how ugly we seem to her! I'm apparently ugly 80% of the time, so could be worse!
Zzzzyx, blok M. This is a japanese style place, caters to Japanese clinetele, with a nice 'onsen' downstairs, and massage upstairs in open cubicles with curtains by cute girls in sexy outfits. Have been here once; HJ only.
Jaspa, Ambassador Mall. Cheap, nice facilities, not so beautiful girls, most HJ only. Karina, famous from one Indonesian language forum, cheerfully offers excellent BBBJ after good massage. Be nice to her, OK?
Delta, near Grand Melia hotel. New place, very large, with pretty nice facilities, but on the expensive side. One visit, HJ only, but think more might have been possible had I felt like pursuing the matter.

Seeing this post reminded me that I forgot to write a post about my recent visits to the new Delta Spa on Jl. Gatot Subroto at the corner of Jl. Rasuna Said, about 100 meters from the Gran Melia Hotel.
This spa is brand new, opening on 22 July 2006, and it’s obvious – brand-new shiny fixtures, spotlessly clean rooms and hallways, no bad smells. Quite a contrast from the Maribaya Spa (Melawai 6th Floor), Kartika or Berlian, which all look like they were last renovated during WWII by low-bid amateur carpenters. It is one of at least three Delta Spa locations, with one in Kelapa Gading (same location as MTR2, Monggo Mas and Sumo Shiatsu) and one near Pondok Indah Mall. The Delta ownership also owns Galaxy Spa, in the Jl. Fatmawati area (maybe other locations, not sure).
Layout: Delta is in a stand-alone building surrounded by a huge parking lot. The ground floor has a front desk where you’re given a numbered disk on a string, then a locker room, sauna, swimming pool, etc. One floor up is a small bar/lounge and the massage area. There appear to be at least 20 massage girls on duty but you can’t see them (not even a photo) ahead of time.
Rooms: there are only two grades of massage rooms - the misnamed “VIP room” and a “Suite.” The VIP room truly is mis-named; while it is a decent comfortable massage room, there are no shower facilities, not even a sink; worse yet, the walls don’t reach up to the ceiling, stopping several feet short. I’m 6 feet tall and I quickly discovered that by standing on my toes I could look over the wall into the next cubicles on either side. Not a good feeling! The “Suite” is a fully-enclosed regular room with shower, etc., and obviously is much more private. If you’re hoping for any extras other than a HJ, then you have no choice but to opt for the suite.
Room prices: there’s a minimum charge of 220,000 rupiah for the VIP room and 350,000 for the suite, which includes “two” sessions of 45 minutes each, i.e. 90 minutes total. An extra 45-minute session is an additional 90,000 rupiah for the VIP room and 150,000 rupiah for the suite. During my first visit I chose the VIP room for two sessions, 220,000 total, and I experienced tremendous pressure to choose the “3-session” option, both from the front desk, the upstairs massage check-in desk and the girl. I also received tremendous pressure to choose a suite instead of the VIP room, meaning that they were hoping I’d pay 500,000 rupiah total (plus presumably a tip to the girl).
What’s worse, during my second visit, when I tried to book 3 sessions in a suite for 500,000 rupiah, I was told that there’d be an additional charge of 30,000 rupiah for an oil massage. Not cheap!
Summary: the bottom line for any of these places is the girl, of course. During my first visit, I was given #98, Nita, 21 years old, 1.65 m tall, at least 10 kgs overweight (mainly in her thighs and chest), with a very pretty face and long wavy black hair – much better looking than most girls working in these places. She had worked at Galaxy (same ownership) before transferring to Delta when it had opened one month earlier, and her experience combined with her still-youthful exuberance showed.
Great GFE experience - she unbuttoned her shirt and loosened her bra so I could play with and suck on her great tits (she hasn’t had any children yet!); she also grabbed one of my hands and placed it in her crotch and had me give her an extended stroking (through her pants – sorry!). Humorous post-script – a sign on the front desk prominently announced that Delta was closing down “for renovations” from 23 September until 25 October (obviously for Ramadan). Renovations? – the place just opened in late July! I guess that the "renovations" excuse is a way of saving face rather than stating that they're closing for Ramadan, since then they'd be implying that something other than a masaage goes on in their establishment. Contrast - most hotel massage spas are still open during Ramadan.
To the best of my knowledge, all four places mentioned by Member #3088 are closed for Ramadan, only one I'm not sure about is Zzzzyx. And the well-known "bonking" MPs such as Maribaya, Kartika, Berlian, etc. are definitely all closed down for the month.
I visited one of the other Delta Spas ealier this past summer. I don't remember the exact location, but there was another Spa nearby, and it was in a gated/guarded complex. Great street food just outside the gate.
My experience is pretty similar to the one described by MS. I went for the 90 minute package in a VIP room (with a deep bathtub and shower adjacent to a massage pad on the floor, but the walls were open at the top). I opted for the "Dead Sea" mud wrap for starters. this included a nice head and face massage while I was roasted inside a thermal blanket and plastic wrap. Wonderfully relaxing.
My massage gal was cute, young and thick by local standards. She had on a short, one-piece uniform that made it impossible to sample the goods except on the outside. After she washed me off in the tub, I was getting starting to get a nice hard-on, and she washed my dick and ass thoroughly ;)

Just returned from a session there...apparently the management 'knows the right people' to remain open, but there remains some fear of a raid. Thankfully, we weren't raided while I was there. It was very quiet, that's for sure--lots of numbers to choose from.
Generally, though, only spas associated with hotels are open. I called both travel and FM boutique (both connected with hotels), and both said they are open this month. Stand-alone spas tend to be closed; fortune is an exception, it appears. Last year they were closed during Ramadan.
Well, I'm one of those shortsighted expats who limit themselves to the hotels. I think this is more because I don't have the knowledge to venture out and find these places of which you speak (yes, after 20+ visits, I still have no clue how to navigate Jakarta).
Then again, after a long day's work, it's very easy to simply hop down the stairs to Bats rather than venturing out into the traffic.

it is true that the spots in Kota and Pangjay are hard to find and cater almost exlusively to locals. If you don't speak Indonesian, these places would be hard to find, and difficult to negotiate. On my occasional visits, I am usually the only bule in sight, so this is certainly not a place for Patpong-style sex tourism. On the other other hand, if you do make it to this part of town, so long as you spend some money you are perfectly welcome, and, as noted, the girls can be lovely. For many visitors, easiest to stick to the major hotels and malls, where you are likely to find more english speakers, and an atmosphere that is less rough and intimidating. Our friend porker is clearly a confident fellow so has managed to go where most non-Indonesian speakers dare not tread! Good for you, Porker!

Believe it or not, if she clears US $5 a day (approx. 45-50,000 rupiah) for 5 days a week, then she'll be making more than the minimum monthly wage for Jakarta, which is 800,000 rupiah per month.
This helps to put two recurring themes into perspective:
1) don't overpay, and don't ever be afraid to negotiate the price down with a girl you meet at BATS, CJ's, Blok M, etc. Just because the girl starts at 1 million rupiah doesn't mean you should agree to that price.
2) this explains why upwards of 80% of the girls working in malls, office shops, etc. are amenable to spending some time with a foreigner - a friendly contribution of 250,000 rupiah for doing something that's fun to do anyway is a significant increase in the girl's disposable income

Porker, you make some good points, but IMHO no need to take a shot at Jakarta After Dark, as Menteng pointed out. JAD is a businessman who offers a service in return for a cash payment, and there's nothing wrong with that - no one is forced to use his services.
Porker, you mentioned in your original e-mail on the subject that you had a friend guide you around Jakarta, and for that you are fortunate. But not everyone has a guide to help them; if not, then JAD is available to guide the visitor around.
Finally, JAD's tours are not just to the rip-off joints. He'll tailor his tour to what the client wants - it's up to you:
- want expensive PRC girls? he'll take you to Beverley Spa and other such places
- want barely legal 18 year old teens? he'll take you out in the late afternoon and make sure you find what you're looking for

There should be a JAD in every city, as far as I'm concerned. Although places like JKT/Bangkok/etc are easy to find what you seek, it really really sucks trying to find the same in Europe/Africa/Americas, unless you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars/euros.

Anyway my tip would be similar to those whom have repeated this many many a times here!
1 Visit the top clubs in town like 30, CJs, BATS & many others whom are almost all Hotel based & guranteed pick ups available.
2 Visit the Bok M area
3 Even the McDonalds & other entertainment outlets at Plaza Sarinah have girls looking to be picked up!

I in fact spent so much on nonsense while in Indonesia for being new in town (paying too much for hotel, taxi and food) but we all learn and improvise. :).
On the argument about finding girls in Jakarta or any parts of Indonesia, IMHO it depends on your preference. For instance I do not find Maribaya in Melawai 6th Floor appealing. I mean the girls look nice but I would prefer Top Gun at Pelatehan.
It is like here in Kuala Lumpur, some prefer to visit those "health centre" and pay $50 for a PRC, Indon girl or Thai, while some like to visit the massage place to get a body massage and then a HJ. Laarman's post appears to be either totally or partially copied from a report either here or on another forum. I've read it before, and read it a LONG time ago - perhaps even before my first Jakarta trip (2001).
That was the only time I've even been to JJ's, and I've never heard anyone mention it in subsequent visits since (including my on the ground local friends).
The BATs/CJs/Tiga Pulah thing is still ok, but the only one I pulled on the last trip was in CJs on the last night, and she bailed as soon as she got to the Hotel room! I didn't have time the next day before flying out to purge the disappointment in Kota.
Another thing: price. Kota same same, Bule circle was "WTF! how much??". Either SE Asian salaries are ballooning, or the budget airlines are getting too cheap..

As mentioned in one of my posts last month, although most of the MPs in Jakarta are closed down for Ramadan, many of the young ladies who work at those establishments are still in Jakarta (until just before the Eid on 24th October) and are available for afternoon and evening appointments.
I'll be discreet, but suffice it to say that one of my favorite MP ladies has a hotel room at one of the lower-priced but well-known hotels in the Blok M area. She shares the hotel room with a co-worker from the same MP.

Woke up this morning with Lisa, who I found in CJ's last night. She was 600,000 all night. The girls in my target group (young, slim, sweet faced) were all hard bargainers. Lisa was a good GFE, though somewhat passive.
I also went to Tiga Puluh since I'm again staying in Meridien. It was about two thirds guys so I only lasted one drink.

Again, who are you? Three posts total, but virtually no text, and with at least one or more stolen photos.
Normally, I would not comment on someone else's photos, but in this case, I'm with Zero - your photos do not sit well with me either, with the exception of the one of Lona2 (who is absolutely gorgeous). And I'm not sure if her photo fits the guidelines of this forum.

Got in to Jakarta/ (Bliock M) on Saturday 23. Everything was dead for the week end. By official decree. Come Monday bars like Sportsbar, D's, Top gunn and My bar were open till 1 am or so, although Sportsbar was serving Bintangs in mugs so as not to look like a beer. I'm told the place is rather dead compaired to normal, hardley any Buli to be seen.
Tuesday night at Hard Rock was not happening. 4 Japanese on one table, my self and a wingman at the bar, that was it, ohh, and they only served soft drinks (and I wonder why no one was there? :-)).
The Manchester United Club had a loud band, mostly guys and almost no girls, but the Shangralah was up an running again after its weekend off. Ots of working girls. It was like catching fish from a barrel (but also closed at 1am).

It's a total mystery to me why people invent stories and post fake photos in this forum. There is enough interesting "reality" without doing this. By co-incidence I know one of the girls in the latest set of Sam Dino's pictures: her name is Gina (not as per Sam Dino's nomenclature) and her photo has been lifted from her friendster profile. It was certainly not taked by Sam Dino whoever he is.
You may know this already so forgive me if so - but the new (well nearly 2 years old) HRC in eX rarely has many available girls in my experience and the Manchester United place (ex HRC in Sarinah) is even worse.
It's a darn shame that they moved the HRC to that new place. The old HRC really rocked. It had hot girls galore back in the day. I will admit that it had lost some of it's luster the last year or so it was there. But when I first came to Jakarta, the old HRC was one of the hottest pick up spots in the entire city. Now, it's complete garbage and a waste of time. The old HRC at Sarinah on it's worst night was better than the new HRC on it's best night.

I spent a day with my chat girlfriend at the Taman Mini Indonesia park. It's one of those places that tries to recreate the whole country's architecture and culture in a park. It's a great place to wander around and has lots of quiet spots to sit together. Vendors mostly left us alone, unlike many tourist spots in the country. It's a good place to get to know each other before you've had bedroom action, or if you need something to do besides humping each other all day. It's also got one of those cable car rides where you can be up there in private smooching and snogging. I also wanted to get to the water park but didn't have a chance.

Noticed that you are a newbie with only two reports to your name, so realistically you're not going to receive much info from the rest of us.
Do what the rest of us do and RTFF! Go to the "Reports of Distinction" section and you'll find links to several reports that discuss Chinese girls, such as reports on Sumo Shiatsu, Beverley Hills Spa, etc.
Girls of Chinese background have also been spotted at Kartika Spa (Sonia) and the 3rd floor of Stadium (Ah-Ting and others).
There are some Japanese MPs and karaoke places in and around Blok M.

Yes I did see your posts with photos but there's precious little actual information with them. We don't know if you've just gone around snapping photos. What have you done at what price or otherwise with whomever wherever whenever however. It's a total mystery to me why people invent stories and post fake photos in this forum. There is enough interesting "reality" without doing this. By co-incidence I know one of the girls in the latest set of Sam Dino's pictures: her name is Gina (not as per Sam Dino's nomenclature) and her photo has been lifted from her friendster profile. It was certainly not taked by Sam Dino whoever he is.
Please post something of consequence instead of berating other (much more) senior members. I'm certain that if other members saw some valuable contributions, they would allow you a lot more leeway. Just my 200 rupiahs worth.

I found some bit of irony bonking a young Muslim lass at 4:30am while the very enthusiastic call to prayer was broadcast over the loudspeakers near the hotel.
Blok M was quite empty last night approaching midnight, which surprised me this early in the week.
From the looks of things, the blok M street is starting to resemble the old minefield that surrounded the old JJ's. Countless local guys loitering around looking for trouble in one way or another. I wonder if the bar owners realize that this sort of environment will turn away business.
I've been in jkt twice this year and made all the rookie mistakes - overpay, stay with same girl too long, and monger only at hotel bars/clubs etc. I've been reading this forum to gather as much info as possible and have to thank the members who posted great informative reports on how, where, when and how much. I think I can venture out on my own. Wish me luck boys.

A friend and I were hanging out recently at CJ's, where her friend was chatting up an older Malaysian guy. The friend stopped by to say hello shortly thereafter to report that the guy offered her 1.5M rupes to go upstairs with him. She was stating it in a bragging fashion, as if to say 'top that'. While she is an attractive girl, we are not talking supermodel material.
My reaction was 'holy cow, overpaying at its finest'.
Upon reflection and after totaling up my bar tab, room service lunch tab, and a bottle of Chanel perfume I picked up in duty free, I realized I was getting in the ballpark myself.

Just returned from a session there...apparently the management 'knows the right people' to remain open, but there remains some fear of a raid. Thankfully, we weren't raided while I was there. It was very quiet, that's for sure--lots of numbers to choose from.
Generally, though, only spas associated with hotels are open. I called both Travel and FM boutique (both connected with hotels), and both said they are open this month. Stand-alone spas tend to be closed; Fortune is an exception, it appears. Last year they were closed during Ramadan.
Just a quick note to confirm the post by Member #3088 - Fortune (across from Le Meridien Hotel) is still open during Ramadan, even during the afternoon hours (Hotel Travel is only open after dark).
Stopped by earlier this afternoon (Friday) and the place was fairly busy, and no one seemed nervous about a raid. According to the hanging numbers on the wall board, at least 16 girls were busy giving massages, and there were several guys having a drink in the lounge as well. Makes sense since this is one of the only places open right now.
I ended up with a 23-year-old lovely. Excellent massage, including lots of attention to my balls during the face-down part of the massage. After the flip, she gave a few tugs and then all of a sudden took me in her mouth and finished me off, without any request or discussion for a tip. Then cuddled up until the end of the 90 minutes, without any pressure to add an extra 45-minute session (maybe because she knew she'd have other customers waiting for her?). I will definitely be back!
