Agreed with OAH that prettier does not mean better service and/or more GFE feelings. In fact, its more a norm that prettier gals give lousy service or none at all. They may have attitude problem too.

Ricky has made a very good point. The service level varies immensely. The mummy will generally tell you which girls are the best at it. I noticed that the better the looking, the less skilled at the ropes.

Take the Mini Van Travel services being offered by the different Transport companies in the Arrival Hall.Dongguan is about 100 HKD.

My United flight arrives Hong Kong Airport at 6:00PM on April 26th, I need help how to get from HKG to Houjie, Dongguan after I go thru Customs may be by 7:00PM, is there a FERRY or any other means of transport available to get to Humen or Dongguan without much hassle. Please advise. Thanks.

Looking at the time you arrive in HK airport, you'll have missed the ferry to Humen. I am not sure about the mini-van service which CebuLocal pointed out cos I haven't tried it before. I suppose minivan should not be a hassle as you don't have to get off at the immigration when entering Shenzhen.
Alternative:
There is a bus service, which runs from HK airport to different towns in Dongguan. Name of the bus service is GoGo Bus. There is a ticket counter at the arrival hall in HK airport. Cost ard HKD200 to specific towns in Dongguan. The bus will go thru HuangGang entry point in Shenzhen, where you'll have to get off the bus and go through immigration yourself (a hassle if you have several luggages to carry). The bus will stop in ChangAn, where you'll be transferred to a van and ferried on to your preferred destination, for eg. HouJie or Humen or DG city. Travelling time from HK airport to HouJie would be about 2 and half hours to 3 hours, depending on how fast you get through immigration (1 hour from HK airport to border, half hour for crossing immigration checkpoint, 1 hour from border checkpoint to Dongguan).

if you are seeking such lux service, i do have a name of a limo company that have drivers and vehicles to go through the express lanes. i use them quite frequently. the cost is around $700HKD for a MBZ car with driver, can hold about four passengers and it will pick you up from HK airport and take u directly into SZX. PM me if you guys are interested.

Each Area Government have a different set of rules and Fees to register a car.
Shanghai you need to register a company and the minimum is US$140,000, By registering a Company, you get one Free Car registration.
In Bejing, the minimum to Register a Company is US$50,000. The Car Reg. is RMB15,000
Not too sure about Guangzhou (Dongguan is under Guangzhou Area Office).
Each Area Government have a different set of rules and Fees to register a car.

Just to clarify and I don't think I'm mistaken, the express lane is for car + driver only with no passengers. You queue in a different line if you stay in the car.
If there are not many at the border crossing, it is quicker to get out of the car and meet up at the other side after walking thru immigration.

train to cp cost total 85 rmb with taxi to train station , there is train every
hour .

There is a airport shuttle service to Dongguan city. I was told cost is ard RMB50++. Dun think there is a bus service running from GZ airport to CP.
You can opt to take airpot shuttle bus to GZ city (train station or bus station; either Liuhua area or TianHe area or GuangYuan area). From there, you can take bus or train to CP.
Taxi from GZ airport to Cp could be ard rmb400++. Just calculating based on GZ city to Humen or Dongguan (rmb200-250) & taxi from DG city or Humen to CP is approx. rmb120-150. Do the math.
Info for all: there is a new bus shuttle service from Humen to SHZ airport.

I have been spending very long periods at teh Sheraton in Houjie , life in the hotel is pretty boring so I was wonderinfg if any of you could give me some hints on where to find some action nearby , I do not speak chinese so my movements are limited.
I am also considering to rent an apartment in teh area so I was wondering if , maybe , someone here could give some advise , my concerns are security and teh possibility of survibibg without speaking chinese.

Go to the basement. They have a decent sauna there. When you get to the basement, go towards the left... the right side is a spa....

Just come back from Changping. stay 3 night at miraton hotel and found it quite nice, but the for the ktv better go to hui hua ktv.nothing much to do at the Changping and the action begin only at night.miraton rate is quite good and I get rmb283 for the room.

As I'm trying to refine the days I will spend in China, will need a little help from you guys.
Plan to arrive at Guangzhou airport and head to CP first, then back to GZ city and then Shenzshen then out to HK for flight home.
Since I only plan to do some limited sightseeing time, but mostly mongering in mind. How many days should I devote to each place. I will have total 17 days.
Note: have been to HK twice before so only plan to use HK for 2 days then flight out. I've never been to all the other cities inside China.
Also, if time permits, if you feel a trip elsewhere (say Shanghai) will be better off instead of the above cities listed then by all means please recommend.
Things to consider will be: if places have sightseeing options, then may need 1 or 2 extra days there. Otherwise, even a place like CP (with no real tourist sights) will be fine with me to stay 7-8 days there just for mongering, unless you guys feel that's devoting too much time in CP as I'll get bored.

I do recomended just fly to hong kong 2 day take a ferry to macau day trip
stay in zhu hai one day and take the ferry to shekou shenzhen 2 days fly to
shanghai stay 5 days there then either fly to guangzhou , mongering is not that good there option is fly back to shenzhen you can get round trip ticket
in shenzhen to shanghai for 120 usd and take the bus from shenzhen to chang
ping and stay 2 day there and return take the bus back to shenzhen and take train back to hong kong or cp have direct bus back to hong kong also ,
if you have time either stay in shenzhen or hong kong for a few more days.

Zhuhai has an airport and should have flights between Zhuhai and Shanghai. That said, i dont know how much it costs and it is compared to flying from Shenzhen in terms of time and cost savings.
After reading all the hype here I also ventured into CP.
After leaving the train the hazzle with the cab drivers left an impression of what's coming.
I stayed in the Yalan Hotel. Unnegotiated room rate is 180. In front of the hotel were already a few Mamas waiting. More hazzle there. One came in with me and 'guided' me during check in.
The room is actually quite good for 180. Rather large too. Same for the bath room.
After I dropped my stuff I had a late night stroll around the area. There are just too many Mamas with a very agressive sales pitch for my taste. There was always a 'shadow' next to me contantly talking. The whole area around the Yalan is rather grotty and had be left out by the development of China.
In the end I just went upstairs the grocery store next to the hotel. They had a selection of about 10 girls. I tall, well shaped hunan girls was offered. Charge 200 (outcall), 100 upfront.
I don't like upfront payments. But 50 upfront were gladly accepted too.
In the room she was very professional. No GF feel at all, just straight sex with no emotions.
After reading all the CP hype here I think it's overrated. There are probably plenty of gals to choose. But so what? You can have sex anywhere in China with the same ease and less hazzle.

Check out the the ground floor apartment a block away. Cross the street to the restaurant from your hotel, walk to the left and around the corner of the restaurant, see the corner convenience store and about 30 feet right of the store is the apartment with over 40 hunnies.
Another place was walking out of the hotel and making a right and crossing the street, making a right turn, passing the pharmacy and up one or two blocks and about 30 feets into the block, on the second floor on the right side. Over 40 hunnies.

I am not sure about van service but i did take the taxi from Baiyun to CP on my last trip.
Waited at the queue in front of the arrival hall. Didn't negoiate as there was GungAn around and went by meter. Actual cost was 520 RMB but got 20 RMB discount. I think that i would have been able to get the trip for 400 RMB with some serious haggling.
I think cost of Taxi from Baiyun to GZ Train Station east should be appx 160 by meter. Train to CP should be 75 RMB if i remember correctly. Taxi from Dongguan Train Station in CP to Hui Mei hotel should be not more than 20 RMB. Total is 255 RMB +- . FYI there is a counter at the lobby of Hui Mei hotel selling Shenzen - GZ, GZ - Shenzen train tickets which stops at CP too which is very convenient. But remember NOT to buy the express ones if you want to stop at CP.
I think that if there are 2 persons travelling, taking the taxi would be more convenient since you don't need to lug your bag around.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed, however, I've mongered all over China and very, very, extensively in S. China and find CP to be the most consistent in terms of quantity, variety, quality, and service. Of course there have been some exceptions but I have found most of the girls much more eager to please than most other places.

Don't let me spoil your fun. It was a case of bad luck, combined with with too high expectations + put off by the grotty surrounding.
Problem was probably that once you are in CP your mind is set to "Must Have Sex", no matter if interested or not.
I should have just ordered the in-house massage and check what's happening. It's a bit more exciting then the 'just fuck' service.
BTW, on a completely different totpic (to be completed later), I do some research on usefull medicine.
To cure Gonorrhea you need one pill of Ciprofloxacin ( 环丙沙星 ) which costs about RMB4.00 and is freely available in any pharmacy. The pack in the image is only one I found randomly on the web.

Here's a pic of the cipro brand I normally buy. Cost is 2.3 RMB for 6 pills.
Supposedly, it's by prescription only, but it's "don't ask, don't tell" at most of
the pharmacies I go to. If they actually ask for the prescription, tell them you
didn't bring it or it's the same medicine you are taking now and 99.999% of the
time, they'll sell it to you.

Actually Spring Airlines (Chunqiu Hangkong) is a new budget airlines that flies direct between Zhuhai and Shanghai for only 299rmb (plus tax). You can book on the internet.

My question: How was the Nan Hai and the adjacent bars and why will you shy away from that on next trip? Was thinking of staying there a couple of nights. I'm 60, in good shape, and don't have to worry about my budget much. Any suggestions for me?

Maybe I was too harsh in my statement. The Nan Hai is located adjacent to the Shekou Ferry. It is a pleasant hotel. Within 300 feet of the hotel is a string of girlie bars. Each bar has 6 to 10 girls. The price is a lot cheaper than the KTVs in the Dongguan area or in Macau. I think I paid 400 RMB for about three hours with a lady.
If I have to stay in Shenzhen I would probably stay at the Nan Hai. The bars are very friendly to foreigners and they are not located in the big city section of Shenzhen.
On the trip we had spent three nights in KTVs in the Changping area of Dongguan. Since you have to get a Chinese visa you might go to Changping and try out the KTV at the Crowne Prince, New Century or Hui Hua, where each has hundreds of girls. We also spent two nights in Macau, which is pricey, but there is an array of talent.
My impression was that the Nan Hai bars are the closest that I saw in the area that are similar to bars in the Philippines or Thailand. I did not see many local Shenzhen people.
Just wondering if anyone is in CP right now? I have a friend who wants to go there but I am not sure I can go with him. Just wondering if anyone one is there to show him the places.

I have stayed at both hotels before and base on price, Lion is much cheaper by RMB60/night.
Rooms are alright but of course if you prefer a larger bed then the Hui Hua hotel is a much better option. But then unless you want to do some physical exercise like play catching with the girl, then Lion is fine with me since they have renovated the place quiet some time back. Of course, Hui Hua is newer compared to Lion and further more it is 5 star. So, if money is not an issue, stay in comfort at Hui Hua.
Both hotels have KTVs with hundreds of girls in them. Apparently, Hui Hua has 99 KTVs rooms and i did some minor calculation of each room having 5 males, you will then have at least 500 hundred girls in that establishment. Not counting the ones that were not selected. Scary. That's more than half the size of my primary school (counting 3 classrooms of 30 people each from my high school). Really scary, imagine going to a co-ed school with so many different girls.
Sorry, i was getting carried away.
Coming back to the girls in Hui Hua as i was there recently, they were certainly a lot but then again different characteristics. But i always tell myself, if i can't find 10 girls from the hundreds that meet my taste, i won't be able to enjoy what is on offer in CP.
I always find something that i like. Mind you, my preference is slim, long hair, ample curves at the right places (like everyone's tastes), as long as they are not bigger size than me (body frame), then they are worth looking at.
Not sure if you are aware, but there is different girl selection procedure in the KTVs in Lion and Pearl (name of KTV in Hui Hua), which is, in Lion, you have 10 minutes with the girl before the mamasan comes and ask if you are selecting the girl. If not, then she will ask the girl to leave and bring you another group to have a look.
However, in Pearl, mamasan will not come and ask you but you are expected to ask the girl to leave after 5 minutes of sitting down with you if you don't want her. More than 5 minutes and you are expected to select her for the night (at least for the KTV session with a tip of RMB200).
apart from that, both places' prices are the same as in 2/5/8, for the benefit fo those who are not aware:
RMB200 - Girl will be with you the whole time in the KTV, you can play, chat, dance, etc ... no hanky panky unless she likes you a lot.
RMB500 - Same as above, but she will follow you back to your hotel for short time.
RMB800 - All of the above plus she stays with you until next morning around 9am to 11 am, depending on the girl. My last few ones left around lunch time.
Don't think i'm good or they really like me but i think it is just because some of these girls stay at cramp and shitty places, they much prefer to spend more time in my room rather going back to their not so environment friendly 'homes'.
Would suggest to rent a van to take you to day trips in Shenzhen and Guangzhou to fill out your time during the afternoons before heading back to CP for the KTV sessions during the evening cos you can only do so much of foot reflexology and massage in the afternoon.
Overall, i enjoyed my trip, was there for a 4 day 3 night stay (which is not enough but you must go with friends else you will be bored during the afternoons).
Till the next trip to China. One of my friends suggested Chengdu, we will have to wait and see.

I talk to my hong kong friend he told me there are bbs in HENGLI town about
20 min taxi from changping offer service for 80 rmb w bbbj but quality is not
as good as cp , This a new area for monger from hong kong and many sauna
and hotel is opening , anyone of you been there before might give it a try on

Recently I had a quick look at the "Golden Island Hotel" (Jin Dao). The room charge is now RMB200 - just a little cheaper then the Golden Lake Hotel, which is definitly better and has a better location too. Well, I didn't pplan to stay there anyway....
But they have the "Saunahouse" next door. I was there before, maybe 2 years ago. It's all new and renovated now. The lobby looks really great. I didn't went inside, just had a price check.
Rooms are now 168 and 198. Girls tip is 300 and 400 (they have 2 classes of girls. Means minimum will be 568. Maybe one day......
I went on to my favourite BBS in "Jie Sha", just outside SZ (still 0755 area) and tried a newcomer, Feifei, which was really nice after the recent soso experiences.
Funniely she asked for 200, because of the holidays. I guess I could have gone away with the usual 150 - but I made it 170. It was deserved anyway!
That BBS is the first in a small path in Jie Sha. There are a few more BBS in the same road. But the first BBS was always very good and it's no point changing.....

Has anyone heard of a KTV/Hotel called Xing ji somewhere in dongguan? My friend had been there, but he was brought by another friend and he doesn't know exactly where it is. Apparently it's near some place called the "guo ji zhan lan" exhibition centre.
Told me the girls there are 300 overnite and rooms are 300 for a nite. Total 600. Also told me he had a cute pair of twins there the last time he went. (Now that's something I'm willing to try! ;) ).
Dunno which town it's in, but I think it's not in CP.

I had an 8:30am morning flight out of Hong Kong and didn't want to have to leave my Chanping hotel any sooner than absolutely necessary.
The first Go Go Bus leaves the Crown Prince Hotel (Opera House) (Ph: 86-769-83363333) at 4:15am and got me into HKIA by 6:45am. The cost is rmb160. Taxi for rmb15 should get you from Chanping (Miraton Hotel district) to the Crown Prince in about 10 minutes.
Everything in CP is negotiable. I noticed that more than usual everyone from bell boys to taxi cabs greatly inflates the asking prices in Dongguan / Chanping district.
A little bit of Mandarin and "know your prices" (RTFF) will help to prevent you from ruining the area for the rest of the hobbying community.

Near the top of the page are the links to the important parts of the forum... one of them is "abbreviations." Take the time to look through that and it will make the forum much easier to understand. BTW, FS = Full Service = Vaginal Sex.
As for how saunas work.... the following is a general description but most operate the same way.
You tell the sauna staff you want a room. They pretty much know what you want once you say that. A woman in a suit will then usually lead you to either a reception area or a room. There, girls will enter usually in groups of 5-7. You pick the girl you like then you go to your room. At most saunas, the girls usually go through a scripted routine. Typical routine is: shower, cat bath, AR, BJ, then FS. If you don't like any part of it, just tell the girl you don't like it.
After all is done, you tip the girl, usually 3-400. Then you pay the room fee, usually around 200.

I’m going to break my report into 3 parts beginning with travel info. This is mostly for newbies like myself and I will be as specific as possible. Senior members please forgive me if I bore you and Newbs…I just hope they read it.
I took the train from the east station in GZ to DG(Changping) for 35 RMB. It takes about 45 minutes and leaves regularly. In DG I took a taxi to the Miraton Hotel. They started at 30 RMB and would not go under 20. Maybe you could get 15 on a nice day, but it was raining like hell on Monday. They won’t understand Miraton so try to say May-ee-tun Jo-dee-en. I’m not using pinyin but trying to be as phonetic as possible. Don’t worry about tones. It is true Chinese is a tonal language, but it is also highly contextual. The Miraton said the pool was not open so I headed to the Hui Mei. They don’t have a pool, but you can use the one at Hui Hua and the room is a little cheaper. The rooms are nice. The nicest I have seen in China for 300 RMB. The kicker was the sofa. It gave me nice ideas about various positions, so I took the room. Some of these hotels may show you a paper with inflated prices. Just laugh and say my friend said 302. They also said this would be the same price on the weekend. You may be able to do better.
Taxi from Hui Mei to the YaLan hotel is 10 RMB. Make sure you get this understood before you drive away. The taxis in DG have meters but do not use them. Also, the taxi at the train station said a ride to the Crowne Prince Hotel would be 40. I will try that soon. The Chinese name for The Crowne is TaiZhi. Jiudian. However, for mongering purposes there is no reason to go out of CP. I would like to go to the Crown for the KTV and the outdoor pool, but since it is always raining here the pool doesn’t matter.
The Hui Mei, Virgin, Miraton, and Hui Hua are next to each other and all 5 stars. They have security boxes in the rooms and are quite comfortable. I’ll probably stay at the Hui Mei again. The area is also full of Mamas willing to show you there merchandise. However, this is the area where Weelock got jumped. If you are alone, be careful. These 5 star hotels, like every hotel in DG are girlfriendly. OAH assured me not to worry and he was more than right. I got the feeling that bringing back 3 would not be a problem, and the room is large enough. There are also budget conscious hotels in this area. Weelock said the Lucky hotel is not bad. I don’t think reservations are necessary and you could negotiate a better deal face to face at most hotels in China.
The YaLan is not so nice, and offers little security. OAH and weelock paid 162. OAH said this already but forgot to mention the coupon for the free hairwash and something else. This is a nice bargain. The YaLan area has about 20 BBS and the mamas line up out front to show you the way. Use good judgement. I saw some places I would not have gone into alone.
Anyway, that’s it for travel info. I’ll report later on the BBS and Hui Mei sauna. CP is a mongering heaven. Quality and taste may vary, but there is definitely something for everyone. If you are in South China and do not go here, you are missing out. Travel between Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Dongguan, and Macau is cheap and convenient. Just remember to read the board and not drive up the prices. You could easily make a day trip from one city to the other.

Savannah - Your tips and CP routing are terrific. I suspect you know your numbers and how to count in Chinese. In the interests of not overpaying, the only transpoint and distance comments I can make are as follows:
1. Miraton to Ya Lan - rmb 10. no problem. What? Are you going to bargain over 2 yuan?
2. Chang Ping train station to Miraton - Rain or shine pay rmb15 max. Be prepared to walk out of the cab. Ignore the laughter and the other cab drivers mocking you. The drivers know when the trains come in and there's usually a line up waiting for a fare. Let them take 15 or they can wait for the next train. It's really not that far. (5-6 minutes the way they drive).
3. Miraton to the Crown Prince (Opera House?) - Don't pay more than rmb 20. Once again, it's not that far - maybe 10 minutes. The Crown Prince is more than girl-friendly. Also it's on a Gogo Bus route. Gogo has a convenient bus to Hong Kong airport throughout the day. (Could somebody post a link to the schedule?)
There are a couple of decent DVD shops across the road from the Miraton. If he doesn't have it on the shell. Come back by 6:00pm (no 5:00pm) and your copy will be waiting.

Thanks for the information. I've stayed at the Yan Lan Hotel couple of the times last year with OAH and Cronin. The advantage was that the mamasans and about 6 different apartments were in walking distance of the Yan Lan hotel.
Is that the same for the better hotels with mamasans and apartments nearby?
I haven't had a chance to explore outside the Yan Lan Hotel area with the exception of a disappointing trip to the Virgin sauna in December.

I was in Tangxia a few days ago. I checked the BBS near opposite the Golden Lake Hotel. It was a bit late, 11:00pm or so and the selection was rather poor, only 3 girls.

i feel good that my post has created some discussion and extra info. next time, i will try to get a better rate for the hotel. i would not bargain for 2 rmb. i forgot to tell the cab how much because i noticed he had a meter. when i looked back it wasn't working. he said 15 and my girl demanded 10. she said that was fair.
i am writing the posts for newbies so i am using phonics rather than pinyin. my chinese is pretty good and my pinyin very good. however, i am trying to relate to mongers who come here without language ability.
if i can get a room at the hui hua for 325, i'll go there next time. that way i don't have to walk from the hui mei to use the pool. welock said he could get a room at hui mei for 250. he said it was smaller and had no couch. the chaise lounge in the pictures are in the room quoted at 302. i stayed in a room for 333 because of the bigger couch. the couch is very easy on the knees and the girl was comfortably draped over the armrest for doggy.

Before they picked me up I asked OAH if he had eaten. He said “I like to get a girl to take the edge off, then eat and go back for another”. Sounds like words to live by. I thought very good, but I said “maybe something better in the next one.” Sorry OAH! The overall quality of the area is not that great. OAH said it used to be much better. It may be because it was a rainy Monday night. However, of the 100 girls we saw I did see about 5 I liked. The point is this, if travel alone (like myself), how could you tell a good mamma from a bad one as I assume most will try to get you to follow them and most are probably down some narrow alley to reach the BBS. And if doing this at nite, then most will be fairly dark (once again I'm assuming).

I don't think anyone can tell the intentions of the mamas, except that they want to make some cash. No. 3 means don't go down the dark alleys. Don't go down dark corridors, or well lit corridors if you get a bad feeling. If you are alone, don't trust any mama. I did not see anything that made me feel unsafe, but I would always be careful anyway.
Mostly, don't monger drunk in China, except KTV. In Thailand I was drunk for nine days and had a hell of a time. Just make sure your visions isn't too blurry or you may find your new friend has a surprise down there.

Changping is a good place to go mongering and is easy because it is a small
town actions is easy to find , But if you don't speak any chinese it might be a

Don't worry about the language. I know mongers without a word of Mandarin that do just fine in CP & Shenzhen. Body language works great. Just bring along a pen and pad to write down numbers, if necessary. IMHO, KTV girls in SZ are over-priced and many of the better saunas in town do not offer FS. CP offers all the same services for less money and nearly all the saunas offer FS.
Also, you may be surprised to find more people can speak some English than you thought when in situations that require it.

I tried the Hui Mei sauna last week and the Hui Hua yesterday. I think the girls at the Hui Mei are prettier, but the Hui Hua girls are kinkier. Now that I think about it, if you go to the Yalan hotel in CP and walk across to the Yalan saloon, you can't miss it, a mama will take you upstairs. If you don't se anything you like, go back downstairs and another mama will take you someplace else. This begins a cycle of mamas and you may visit 15 or so BBS. As for Humen, take bus until you reach Humen ZhenKou (get the bus conductor to let you off at Humen ZhenKou ShiChang; or at FUDU JIUDIAN).
If you alight at Humen ZhenKou ShiChang, there shuld be a wet market on your right. You are at one end of the road. Walk further up and you can start seeing some BBS. If you alight at FUDU JIUDIAN (the other end of the road), walk back in the direction your bus came from.
On this road, you will find FS BBS and HJ BBS. Should be ard 6 -7 FS places and 3 HJ places. Price for FS is rmb120-130. HJ price is rmb35 for 1 hour. The last bus from Humen back to Shatian should be 9.30pm - 10pm. The shops at Humen ZhenKou opens at 1pm until late nite. (p.s. I pass by this road on my way to work and back every MON-FRI).

Just to add - the Humen ZhenKou ShiChang road is abt 2-3 mins from the Shatian - Humen bridge. Once you come off the bridge, the bus should make a right turn; it will continue a bit and after the bus makes a left turn, that is the place you should get off (FUDU JIUDIAN is further up the road on the other end). The wet market should be on your right, and the river behind you.

Made a visit to the Sheraton KTV on Sunday night, and had a good time. My previous trip to a KTV (Las Vegas in Shenzhen) wasn't the best and I was very cautious heading in. I met a manager that spoke English pretty well and we setup a small room. The girl selection was pretty good, I got there around 7:30. Some time back I came onto this forum with my hand out, begging for info about this part of China in preparation for a trip there.
Lots of generous people helped me out -- many of the regular contributors. Old Asia Hand went so far as to get me a hotel booking when the hotel of my choice didn't respond to e-mails.
Then, as luck would have it, I had to cancel. For reasons to complicated to explain, I wound up in Phnom Penh.
Just want you all to know that I've attempted to pay you back with a somewhat detailed trip report on the Phnom Penh thread of the Cambodian forum and a short note on the Thailand thread. I hope anyone who's curious about the atate of P4P in the Kingdom of Cambodia will check out the report.

I have been a few times to the Goldfish bowl in Shatian Hotel, as mentioned before you can get a taxi from Houjie (lets say Shan hu hotel for convienence) and it takes 10 minutes to get there. Cost of Taxi was 20 - 30 RMB. You can get taxis there and normally taxis are outside the hotel until about 3am. If you take into cost of massage in Houjie Hotel at 500 all inclusive and subtract price of return taxi fare you save yourself around 50RMB !
Do that 3 times and that is one freebie at the BBS.
Humen is around 20 minutes further down the road.

Sorry it was sometime in mid May 2006. From 6:30 to 8pm is considered early for weekdays. For weekends, I would NOT suggest going after 8:00pm.
I went back to the BBS shop half hour later after she left me. I didn't see her and I was trying to catch her lying. She said she needed to go home because of an emergency. I'm an American living in Houjie. I manage the int'l ops for my company & have to spend most of my time in China. I was in Guangzhou for a while, and just as I got the situation, mongering that is, figured out there, I moved my office to Houjie. Anyway, I have an apartment at the "New City 88" gated complex at the end of what I refer to as "main street" in Houjie. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Sheraton. great meeting up with the guys again! oah, mr. b and this time moody......
rolled into cp with these 3 chief south china monger at 7pm... dam jammed at sz entance to the highway!
by the time we got in, checked in to hotel, got to yalan hotel area; a few of the shops are emptied out! our regular shops are closed! got pulled into the ktv/take out bar. saw at least 20 -30 girls, usual drill, took namecard from mama and names of targetted girl/s . off we go more hunting.

I spoke to a few, after paying the mamasan and other fees, the takehome is more like half of that. just remember, they are not going out everyday. And unless the customer request for them specifically, they must wait for their turn next. The house adds on a lot of overhead charges to these lady.
I spoke with a gal in sha tsui on this last trip and she tells me that for a overnighter she needs to pay the mamasan 75rmb, the ktv 110rmb and another 50 or 100rmb misc. (i forgot who she told me that it goes to) her take of 600rmb is reduce to around 400. She needs to do find twenty guys to take her out overnight to get 8K rmb per month. After paying for food rent and other misc. expense, I do not think she can net half of that. Most of them send most of that home to mommy and daddy or pay for their brothers' education back home. Rough life isn't it. 16K a month is for the few 10's that can command it.

She must have assumed that i was a regular ( First time actually but i do a lot of RTFF ) and asked me my price. I told her that i will give her a good price of 150 and chided her to be more sincere in the future. Within 5 minutes 2 girls came and i picked one cute girl. Gave the girl 50 tip after the deed. Didn't ask about overnight price though.
Maybe the price of 200 is standard if you go hunt and check out the stock yourself because all the mummy's along the area could gang up and quote the same price. And if you are a repeat customer, the mummy will quote you the same price as before.
Anyway, 200 ST is still a fair price...sigh, can't wait for my next trip next month.

Yalan area girls are normally 100+100 as AG describes. Some of the mamas will take 50 if it is for one of their exclusive girls. Same applies at the places behind the Hua Mei. I always negotiate; 2 for 1 when I take a duo from the same mama.
Most delivery service you can call for is 150 RMB, but they only send 2-3 girls at a time to select from. Having said that, I just saw a whole taxi full of girls coming back from a delivered line-up. Must have been 10-12 girls.
For those on a limited budget, try the catacombs. 30 RMB for 15 minutes ST. I reckon that is as cheap as it gets.
Most KTV is 200/500/800.
Most Saunas are 160-260 + 300 RMB tips.

Andy; you are right also; there are so many time that I walked into a BBS or places like these, they will offer me the standard price and turn around to offer my white friend higher price! If they knew that we are together in a group, than may be there are better chances that mama stays at standard price for all. But for old timer like OAH, I think there are no mama in Yalan area who does not know him, I would say none of the mamas there even dare to offer him a price that is higher than the Standard!

If you know the girl like OAH's 42D and call her directly, she does not even have to pay the mama, that is correct. OK... I have than another story to tell:
This one I had shared with OAH and Mr. B in OAH car going back to SZ this morning.
After the KTV with OAH, Mr. B and Moody we headed back to our room. The girl I had from my previous was calling me for the whole evening. She must have had a bug on me which detected I was in town! After the KTV, I finally decided to give her a call and she came over ina flash! That's the "freebie" which I mentioned in my previous report. She turn out to be a real freebie for last night!
She stay over for the whole night and in the morning when we were going for breakfast I tried to pay her 500 but she refused payment! She just said: "I dont want your money!" I was a little surprise (actuallly very surprise!) I did asked her why she refused my money in Which she did not answered. While she was in the showers I put the money into her bag but she quickly found out and returned the money back to the table while it was my turn in the Showers. Without further delaying going for breakfast I just kept the money since she refuse it.
Over breakfast, I cannot help but thinking of what is the reason for her to refuse my money. I had thoughts that she wanted me to bring her back to Shanghai with me or even things like she wanted stay at my place in Shanghai as she did mentioned that she wants to move to Shanghai. Thoughtout the night while resting in between rounds, she was asking me about life in Shanghai, where I live, what she expect of Shanghai etc....
While on the way to SZ, I can't hold it back anymore but have to burst out asking OAH and Mr.B what the hell is that all about refusing my money.
OAH and Mr. B offered two very vaild reasons:
1) The money is not enough for her expectation
2) She is ploting something up on me!
I would go for No. 2 as I have reasons to believe that 500 is the standard for LT and that is the price I paid her the last time.
So the left me wondering... What the hell is she working on me?
Whatever it is... I aren't going to see her the next time in CP and I had blocked off her number on my cell.

Got into Shenzhen from the Lo Wu Border yesterday. Big mistake!
Yesterday was 1st July, 9 year ago; yesterday, Hong Kong was returned to China. So its a long weekend as Monday is a public holiday in Hong Kong. There were seas of people crossing the border. This kind of reminded me of the Historical Human Waves during the North / South Korean war. All I can see at the immigration was black heads moving forward...
Anyways, managed to cross the border after 2 hours of queue, pushing and figthing to keep my luggage with me.
Met up with Moody at the bus station and got onto a coach to go to Houjie. We were faced with another inefficiency system of China in which the bus conductor on the lower ground floor told us to buy our tickets on the second floor for Houjie and when we turn up on 2nd floor ticketing station, they told us that for Houjie we buy the ticket on boarding the bus! Struggling with my luggage, moody and I made our way to the bus queue. The Bus to Houjie is queue number 2 and marked with "Hou Jie" in English and can be found on the right side of the escalator if you are coming from the 2nd floor ticketing station, you get into the queue, a conductor will come to you for you to purchase tickets @ 30RMB 10 mins before the Bus departs You get on the bus and it is an hour ride.
Our ride was pretty smooth even with a little traffic along the way as it was evening rush hour (Not public holidays in SZ) but just another Sat evening.
Got into HJie at around 7:30 and Thanks Moddy for the education along the way on Houjie mongering scene. Guys, be careful about the Taxi at Houjie; upon arriving at the Bus terminal we jumped on to a taxi to take us to Sheraton. Moody spoke with foreigner's Mandarin and I kept speaking to him in English, plus I was carrying a luggage which gave the driver an impression that we are foreigner. He did not flip the meter and when we arrived at Sheraton (4 mins later) Moody gave him a 10 and he insisted on 20. At that point moody and I were pissed. Moody rejected and said only 7 as it was the starting price besides the journey was only like 5 mins. Driver start making noise and I guess I stepped in that surprised him by scolding him in mandarin and cantonese that he is trying to cheat us as non locals, we are not the first time in China. At that point we basically saw his jaw dropped. We just leave the taxi So take note do not fall for this one, insist on meter or agree on the price before he leave for the designation
Houjie, unlike CP tends to start later at the KTVs, Saunas etc. CP starts around as early as 5pm and if you are there around 7pm...oAll the good and pretty girls are gone! At Hjie, we can still grab our dinner at the Sheraton hotel’s Italian restaurant and arrived at the KTV at 9pm as the first customers!
KTV is at 5 floor, and was greeted by mama. Again I played the act that I am foreigner than does not understands any Chinese at all (I love that; so that I can get a little inside information when they start speaking to each other in their language). Even while on the taxi getting from Sheraton to Hu Man, he tried to made us paid extra by asking for 50 but in the end we go by the meter which came up to be only 42. (Although 8 rmb is just US$1 difference…we all do not like the feeling of been a sucker!). We settled into a Shenzhen taxi to take us from Hu Man to Shenzhen town @ 100 in total for two of us. (NOT EACH remember) Some other taxi wanted 150 but we push them aside. If you had got the local Houjie taxi to bring you to Shenzhen the main problem is: they will charge you around 300 and they likely to get lost in Shenzhen city in which they got no local knowledge of the roads in SZ.
Overall we enjoyed our night especially mongering out together with fellow members of ISG. More mongering in SZ or ???? city tonight!

How very interesting. Not very often you heard of bus driver getting lost but I had seen bus reversing on a highway because he was miss the turn off and trying to reverse back to the exit.
In additions to that, I had also heard from taxi drivers that in more developing cities the road changes without notice overnight, a road can turn into a one way street and you have to go around it in order to get to your designation, and whereby getting lost on the way. Hahaha! What's new in China?

I was there early last month on a Friday, we got there around 7PM as the girls were lining up. Great timing. We hung around and watch till around 7;30PM and selected then. I always stay at Parkview Hotel, a great 5 star hotel for 540RMB/nite. Really, an excellent value. The hotel has a KTV and Sauna, both offering the usual services (including extras) but quite pricy.
During my last visit - last month - I took a taxi and asked him for BBS. A short ride and I ended up in front of a couple of horrible places with horrible faces. Anyway, I ran for my life.
So, is there any decent action to be fund in Chang An or do I have to rely only on other more popular areas?
Thanks Weelock for the Versailles info. I did a search and found the name “Fan yee choy” Paid 15 for a cab from hui hua. Amazon looks like a nice place. I think it’s actually called rainforest as that’s what the sign says. Their Da Ding area looks good. The girls were lined up at 7:00 exactly in two rows. You could just walk down and inspect the troops. However, I did not see anything I personally felt to be stunning, but being able to look at all those girls at once makes it a wonderful place. I am sure the quality is much nicer on the weekend. I would not stay at the Versailles though. That area looks kind of crappy. I did not take anything. Looks like Wadman covered the particulars pretty well. My Monday and Wednesday BBS experience were good, both girls stayed in bed until I told them I was going out. OAH says this might be because they were hoping for long time. No its not scary at all... although some places is down some alley you would typically go hunting before last light (Before sunset). This we learnt from our last two trips thre with OAH and Moody, you get there before 6pm and you be fine. Get there after 7pm, there is no girl left, some of the shops are even closed!

Typically, you use one of their rooms, which is a like a regular hotel room with a bigger shower. At some places, you have to option of taking the girl to your hotel room, but you still have to pay the room fee.... so you may as well use their room. The service is 90 minutes.

There are couple of places that are 5 mins walk from Yalan hotel as you know, even the KTV across the road from Yalan is essentially a pick up KTV. But judging from the place Ditto is describing, it doesn't sounds like is it so near to the Yalan hotel.
Like you, I'll be very eager to find this place of his that offer 100RMB, not because of the money but because that we should not be be sucker! If one pays 100RMB, why others should pay more? Not that we get extra good service or extra time???

Yes, the above mention prices are indeed true for NY. Sometimes, even the chinese have to pay the higher prices if mamasan think they are not chinese. This happens alot to friends I know that are ABC (dont speak Chinese) and look more Korean or Filipin than Chinese.

Not withstanding all these arguement about the 100RMB price; I serach though my phone list and pulled out the Mama cell# from the first shop, made an International call (Currently in Tokyo now) to mama fromt the first shop.

Well, its a matter of how long we are able to hold out before we give in to temptation. I only get vacation once a year to get away (and sometimes even that wont happen if family matters turn up). I admit havent been to South China yet (only HK, KL and mostly LOS and Singapore), but it is on my list of things to do and places to go. --so hopefully, see you guys there soon
Although $160 seems steep, you have to see for yourself some the quality you are getting. I really mean it as some of these korean MPs in NYC are simply stunning, but have to somewhat agree the service could be better for that price. And its the price for living in N. America so its pay it or get nothing until able to get away. (for me , I cant hold out that long--ha ha)
Also, since a RT flight to Asia from North America usually exceeds $1000 and takes 2 days RT, its really not bad to spend $160 once in a while just to keep me in practice (warm up-so to speak) for the marathon sex in Asia--IMO

Yes. $160 is steep for you guys in Asia but that's what we live with here in the states. I can afford to do it once a week but generally do it once every 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Quality is good in the Korean MP, but service has come down substantially. In the old days (6 years ago), they would lick your toes to your neck and spent at least 15 minutes on foreplay. Now it's 5 minutes foreplay and time to get on top and get it over with.

Man, it's been like forever since I've been to an Korean massage place in the states. Last time I went was when the one on 24 Mercer was still open. That must have been at least 5-6 years ago. From what I remember, the service was pretty good back then. The deal used to be $150 for an hour. Originally, it was $200, but after the 2nd time, we talked the mommy into charging us only $150. With all due respect, I still reckon something is not right. I spend a lot of time in the Yalan area and the mamasans know me very, very well. Many of the members on this board can vouch for that. You can say that I am a "regular" customer.
The standard deal is that you pay the mama 100 and the girl 100 later for ST, 400 for LT. I have seen mongers pay this, over and over and over again. The place you describe is either down the alley across the street from the Yalan where the construction AG refers to is, or its the place directly behind the Yalan with a metal gate out the front. These are the only ground floor places within 20 steps.
A lot depends on which girl you take. The way the money is chopped up can get complicated. The best deal can be made if you walk into one place on your own and take one of the girls recommended by the in-house mama. The worst deal is if you follow one mama to a place and then select a girl that belongs to another mama, not the in-house mama. In your case, you followed a mama which makes me want to think there are at least two people chopping the "bill" as they call the upfront fee, which is normally 100 RMB. I have paid only 50 to the mama and 100 to the girl when I took her recommended girl before. I do not usually bargain the 100 RMB fee though. However, I only pay 100 RMB to the mama if I take a duo.
It may have been you misunderstood the purpose of the "bill" of 100 RMB to the mama and when you gave the girl the 50 tip she just thought you were cheap or the service was not good or something. Or, maybe she thought that the mama was going to give her the other 50. In any case, the Yalan girls all work on 100 ST net in their pocket. And, the mamas don't work for nothing.
Bill also told me his buddies are only paying 100 RMB in CP, but who knows where, how, when. I only paid 30 RMB ST in the catacombs.
I also will buy you dinner should you be able to get me the same deal.

Yes Fast Eddie, You are indeed correct that I truly love LOS (except maybe Phuket--its so-so for me). Its a familiar place and comfortable and cheap so I usually try to make it there once a year. Now that I've read so much about south China I need to check it out for comparison and also just to satisfy my underline curiosity.
If I truly fall in love with China--who knows, it may be my only future place to monger instead of LOS. Just have to wait and see.

I understand the sucker thing. Believe me, I hate to get taken for a sucker too. For that reason, I never give KTV girls any more than what's expected. I've heard from enough girls who tell me that the girls make fun of overpaying customers behind their backs. The last thing I want is a girl to call me a "shabi" behind my back.

I bet you if OAH brings 5 guys to one mamasan, and tells her that 5 guys will each pay 200, but he wants to pay only 100, I guarantee you the mamasan will do it. I know a city official in Wenzhou who goes to KTV every single week, and the KTV never lets him see the check. He doesn't even tip the girls, the owner does that for him.

Actually, behavior like that at KTV is not that uncommon, especially at the smaller KTVs. Girl quality wise, the Crown Prince probably has the best selection of girls on the east side, although I hear of a couple of places in Zhangmutou that are also very nice, but I've never been, so I can't really comment. First of all I would like to say a big Thank-you to the guys on the Shanghai thread for bringing up this interesting topic.
Having not tried this service before and searching around the Houjie area for a long time, I have finally had a hit!
Here goes,
Firstly went to local 1-3-5 karaoke at one of the small local Houjie hotels, arrived there at 9pm (much too late) due to over-extended business dinner.
Anyway as anticipated selection here was not great; I and some colleagues did manage to choose some girls however. After the mandatory Dice games and more than 10 bottles of beer my vision improved and the girls were exposed to closer inspection.
