Chango, BEavis reported in the NL yahoo group that you would be coming down this past weekend. How'd it go? I was there all damned weekend due to a screwup with leaving my camera at the grocery store package checks past closing time. Chango, all the massage places listed in the Sol newspaper offer full service with the room and shower included. Sounds like you went to Status II upstairs from T-K-CH, which are on the 1500 block of Madero. The price there before 10 PM is 200 pesos, 300 after 10. They have nice looking chicas there, but I hate their new narrow squeaky massage tables -- by far the worst I have ever experienced in a massage brothel.

There are tons of massage places in Monterrey, and I have tried many of them. It's about the only thing going in the daytime before the strip clubs get going after 2 PM. Many of the massage places close around 9:30-10 or so which is why the prices go up at places that stay open late like Status, Milenio 2000 (600 block of Villagran, next to La Cava strip club), and Playboy (353 Tapia).

If you're in town before 10 PM, you might want to check out Voltaje massage parlor, which is around the corner from Status and T-K-CH on J.G. Leal, 1004. Literally 2 doors down on your left as you exit the front door of T-K-CH.

Yes, the alley of the empty flea market is packed with TV's and TS's at night. There are some street girls working out of a doorway across the street on Reforma near the corner of Pino Suarez. Some can be actually decent looking, but the rooms are absolute hellholes, screwing on mattresses without sheets that I would be willing to say have seen literally thousands of clientes on them. Standard pricing there is 130 pesos including the 'room', but I much prefer the massage places with their bathrooms and showers and no bullshit about getting naked or giving head.

Denis, you can find some good girls to take to a hotel. But I think it might be rather hard to get them inside any of the hotels of the Downtown hotel district, of which the Crowne Plaza is one of them.
To make things less difficult, you need to talk to any of the security guys working the night shift before going out hunting for girls and tell them of your intentions. Be honest with them and if they help you out give them a tip.
Good hotels at the Crowne Plaza level, in the same area are: Radisson Ancira, Sheraton Ambasador, Howard Johnson... all within a block of each other.
And now, a crtitical question: how much are you willing to spend?
and also... are you looking for escorts, working girls or lap dancing club girls for take out?
There are some intresting options on any of them...

Not me Denis... my only chance to go around at night are wednesdays and thursdays.
Fridays, a couple of hours in the afternoon with Porker. But HE is available for weekends.
You need to check out the following;
Divain... *****house. (do NOT go to Ana Luisa, its a ripoff and they do rob you there)
5 star lap dancing: Amensia, Premier (nothing can go on here)
4 star: Obsession, Prestige (Prestige is not as good as it was, Obsession is much better)
3.5 stars: TVO, Excalibur, Casino (a LOT can go on here).
2.5: Harem, Extasis, Zuku
2: Matehuala Infinito (Both places are jammed packed on weekends. 2 Shifts of girls starting from 2:00 PM where you can pick up your girl, take her to a "privado" and get a FS for 20 bucks plus 10 bucks for the cubicle... Porker has seen the girls here, you can find the whole catalouge here).
The Matehuala is Pokers and yours truely's second home.

I go to Monterrey pretty much every Friday night, though usually leaving by about 11 PM. Sometimes I stick around to tour the massage parlors on Saturday afternoons or come back again to do that. Anyone wanting to meet up simply email me at porquer@yahoo.com and we can likely set something up.

Carlos, nice list of the table dance places, but saying a 'lot can go on' at TVO (and perhaps Casino, but I've only been there once) is a little misleading. If you find the right girl you may be able to grope and make out with her there if you buy her enough expensive ficha drinks (350 for a 'jarra' or pitcher of them), but getting any extras in a standard privado there like you should almost expect at many other places in town are nearly impossible because the privados are NOT PRIVATE. At 2 songs for 140 pesos to get US style lapdances (well, more touching and maybe kissing), you can do a lot better. If you want a truly private session at TVO, the cost is 1800 pesos and you get 30 minutes of sucky fucky included. Getting the dancers to leave with you from TVO will be difficult and likely expensive, though your best shot would be late into the chica's shift.

2 stars for Matehuala? THAT is harsh grading! The best looking chicas at Matehuala and Infinito could make a killing at the more expensive bars but give it up in the privados for much lower prices. The clubs aren't exactly dingy either, though not luxurious like Obsession and Poisson, so I don't quite understand the harsh grades. You wanna see dives? Go to La Joya Bar or Monte Carlo on Arteaga!

Re: hotels, I don't know much about the nicer ones, but there are plenty of hotels near the main bus station that offer both short time (the ultimate girl-friendly hotels!) and all night rooms for right around 300 pesos. They aren't luxurious or the most secure places to leave valuables, though.

Speaking of hotels ,this time I stayed in town instead of San Nicolas/ In town I found I had better advantage for finding chicas but agree with Carlos on the hotels around macro plaza/ hotel district.............The hotel I stayed at was called "5 th avenue" located on Madero, I would say it was 3 -4 star , and was very girl friendly !!!! Had it's own resturant , 380 pesos =$37.00 dlrs. or so a night// directly across the street was another nice lookin hotel/ there was a strip joint in walking distance one or two blocks away in each direction, ...even saw SW 's two blocks away & the streets were alive all night......Chango has to go back soon...........Hey Denis ,I cant say yet about the 1st of Feb.

Ok... if you are staying at the Sheraton, exactly across Hidalgo street on the sidewalk of a paking lot, you can find English speaking "guias" (guides that have their own taxis) that can take you safely anywhere you want to go and they charge by the hour.
Sometimes they want to act and be smarter than their clients... just insist to be taken where you want to go, cause you already know where you want to go.
Just tell them the truth, that you have local contacts via the WWW.

Went tonight to Matehuala, and Infinito , these are the places!, unbelievable choice or girls for everyone, small, tall, slim, fat , beautiful, ugly , young , old,
Paid 20 peso at entrance, plus 50 for privado and 200 for the girl, it is fun if you like to rush but it is something you have to try, had 2 girls at Matehuala, both very nice , very young, and one for a BJ at Infinito, went after to TVO, not bad but I really prefer the two previous places, went finally to Poisson, paid 70 at entrance and had few beers with a nice girl called Tina, 30, nice slim firm body , took her to my hotel to finish the evening nicely , paid 100US$ for a nice session , no rush , so tomorrow I am going to try some massage places and will return of course to Matehuala.

Glad to hear you had a good time and sounds like you did pretty well for yourself on a first visit. I agree completely re: paying for the extras at Infinito and Matehuala. It seems like a value at the time, as for 200 pesos most chicas will give full service. But when you consider that the room fee keeps increasing every 4 minutes while they ring up another privado and you're messing around in a booth with no door the size of a closet with a little chair in it... But like you said, it's something you gotta try, especially if you're used to 20 dollar NO mileage US style dances.

Re: the massage places, buying a copy of the afternoon Sol newspaper and maybe a map (though Carlos might email you one if you say pretty please) will give you a ton of options.

BTW, for future visits, the cover charge at Infinito and Matehuala on Friday and Saturday nights is only 10 pesos, not 20. If you leave and have any desire to come back, ask for a ticket at the door.

But my best bet is the Royalty, smack in the middle of the hotel district. And the "guias" are right across the street. Its a no miss situation.
AND (!!!!) you have at less then 30 feet away the Maxims, where you can find girls for take out.
(Check the links... but I think some of them don't work and you also have toll free numbres for some of the hotels)

Plaza del Arco and Patricia Days Inn are cheap and good, and at the middle of the popular downtown. Yamallel is close by.

Nice info, Carlos, but I would wonder about the girl-friendliness of many of these places. The Hotel Yamallel looks very nice from the lobby and the rates are good, but I'm wondering what would happen if I brought my girlfriend to stay there with me. Maybe it'd be OK if I registered for two when I checked in? Also, the Hotel Fastos looks like a nice place and very convenient to the Matehuala and Infinito, and at 500 pesos for weekend nights wouldn't be a bad deal.

Short time hotels have been crowded recently and were absolutely packed for Valentine's night. They run anywhere from 85 pesos for an hour to 190 pesos and up for 2-3 hours. There are a ton of them in the Centro area.

And re: guias, I don't see why one would be necessary. The afternoon Sol newspaper has at least 15 ads for different massage parlor brothels including addresses, and there are plenty of leads for strip clubs here. Getting one of Carlos' maps is all the other info you need. Free! Taxis are very cheap in Monterrey unless you're coming from waaaaaay out like the airport or something. 20 pesos is the most you'relikely to spend going from place to place and not across town.

OK: From Matamoros its a 3 1/2 hour drive to Monterrey. It's much shorter and better if you come from the McAllen/Hidalgo area.
And there are internet cafes all around the centro/downtown area.
And sure... drop a post when you get down here so you can meet us both Porker and me. He's got full free time on weekends (me noooo, am a family man).

The BEST hotels sometimes, if not all of the times, do not allow girls in there premises, but some 4 star hotels like the DoubleTree Rio do if you fix it up with security before you start the night

And Matehauala is quite an intresting choice to visit. To both Poker and me, is just like our second home (LOL).

12-14 bucks? Uh, I don't know where the CRACK HOTELS are! For 180 pesos, though, you can get into the Hotel Jardin on one of the side streets (one block before Amado Nervo, not sure of the name). Plus you can bring in an least one guest. It is VERY barebones, though, and don't expect them to give you a key. And as it's a short time hotel for the most part, they may refuse to give you rooms for the night. I'd suggest trying to spend at least 300 pesos and getting a nicer room with a key, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

Yes, it is possible to get a F/S or a B/J at a "privado" booth. And yes, the bouncers do look, but at the same time they don't look cause you are expected to give around 50 to 100 pesos tip to them (depending on the extra service).
And yes, the MP are low on quality here.
Versage, according to one of my friends is not exactly the best, but they do have a nice slection of girls.

Reymoon, Carlos' responses have been quite informative and accurate. I think it's possible the girl at Poisson was telling you the truth, as the girls at the higher end clubs KNOW that their prices for privados are high. I have no experience with privados there, though, and all my info is generated second-hand.

Can I catch a bus in Harlingen or do I have to cross over the border first? How long does it take? I'm guessing 3-4 hours.

I would guess that you go to the border, cross over and then take a bus to MTY. You should be able to get a bus to Brownsville, then from there you should be able to get a bus to cross the border. Should be able to get bus terminal to bus terminal. If not, inquire as to a taxi once you are accross. I haven't done that border crossing but I have done others, both ways...long time ago, doubt if things have changed much. good luck

You should take a bus to Hidalgo, Texas, border with Reynosa Mexico (it's like 30 minutes from Harlingen). Much better than going to Brownsville and Matamoros which woudl make you backtrack again to Reynosa..
I don't know if there are buses going from McAllen, Tx to Monterry (via again Hidalgo and Reynsa). .
But once in McAllen you can ask at the bus station.
Anyway, from Reynosa to Monterrey it's 2 1/2 hours...

I would also appreciate any recommendations of 3-star hotels that are close to the entertainment areas. I don't plan on being in Monterrey too long, so a short stay isn't really a budget problem. I guess I was more concerned about spending too much money on taxi’s because I’m not sure I will be able to use the public transportation systems (buses, trams, etc…) since my knowledge of Spanish is rather basic. Is a little English also spoken by most of the people I will be coming in contact with at the hotels, clubs etc…What about chicas, bus drivers, taxi drivers, etc…?

Based on your map, it appears that most of the entertainment is concentrated in the same general area of the city, so transportation costs should be relatively low. Are taxis usually available outside the clubs? If so, how late are the taxis usually available?

I always conduct myself as a guest when in Mexico by treating everyone with the proper respect. I have always been treated well in the border towns, and found the people to be generally friendly and very helpful to a visiting gringo. Can I expect the same attitude in Monterrey?

Where do you recommend I take meals? You know, sometimes we gringos have delicate digestive systems, and we need to be cautious about where we take meals. Because of the issue of meals, perhaps one of the 3-star hotels with a good restaurant that is close to the entertainment area would be a wise choice after all. Your suggestions would be most appreciated, and thanks again for the map.

Bob, as usual Carlos' list of hotels is quite comprehensive. For about 15 bucks more per night (about $50) you might want to check out the Hotel Fastos across the street from the main bus station. It's a little closer to the places we usually go than the Yamallel. Girl friendly might be a problem. The girl friendly hotels are mostly short time hotels that end up having too many rooms so they rent a few for the night. Not exactly a tourist option!

Don't worry about transportation. The metro is cheap, convenient and safe, and for trips up to 3-4 miles, taxis are quite cheap as well. Just get a taxi that has a meter, and it would be hard to spend as much as 30 pesos.

Carlos' maps are GREAT! Getting a copy of the afternoon Sol newspaper will get you the most current list of massage brothels if that's on your 'to-do' list.

I would suggest you go to a cambio and get pesos though, instead of trying to use dollars. I imagine mostplaces will accept them, but the potential for ripoffs would be greater.

I agree with Porker, biggest problem is the walking wallet, your least of problems at the lesser clubs where you have to pay per round.
Hotels: Fastos or Yamallel will do quite fine (can you locate them on my map???)
Both are walking distance to many clubs.
(Don't worry about the "gringo" stuff... act "Porker" and no problemo!)

Re: Passports, to travel into the interior of Mexico (more than 20 KM inside the border, unless you are traveling in Baja California), you need a tourist Visa. This costs approximately 200 pesos, and it is best that you get it at a Mexican consulate near you before you come. To be valid, the visa fee will most likely have to be paid at a bank after you enter Mexico, so it can be a complicated process. You may be able to get this Visa at a tourist information station near the border, but I'm not sure about this. A passport is NOT required, but an original birth certificate is if you don't have a passport.

I have never been to Reynosa or Hidalgo, but coming from Nuevo Laredo, there is a customs checkpoint at the 20 KM line when you take the carretera to Monterrey. MANY TIMES no one will board your bus and start asking questions about papers or your belongings, BUT, if someone DOES and you don't have a Visa, you may be sent back to the border or forced to pay a fine 'bribe' to continue on. These customs checkpoints (also, there are also customs people at the main bus station in border towns) are your only worry. If you can survive them without being stopped you will have NO hassles once you're actually in the interior of the country. The police do not have the power to detain you for lack of a visa.

I was indeed pulled off a bus in the middle of the night one time coming from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey because I was only carrying a copy of my visa. The SOLDIERS (not cops) who talked to me at that point starting leaning on me pretty hard to pay a 'multa' (fine, aka MORDIDA) for not having the physical visa in my posession. But it said in their policy (that they left lying around for me to see) that they were just supposed to advise me in a friendly manner the need to carry the actual visa with me and then let me go. Finally a couple of words from the bus driver got them to ease off and letme go on my way. This wasn't a lot of fun.

Of course I have never had ANY requests to see my papers 90% of the other times I have traveled inside Mexico. Maybe I am gettinglucky in getting green lights at all the customs checkpoints or something...

Anyway, play it safe and get a visa. Make sure it's good for up to 6 months of travel.

The Hotel Fastos is directly across the street from the 'central camionera' (main bus station) on the corner of Colon (a major, major street) and Villagran. It is a high rise building taking up much of a whole city block and you simply canNOT miss it.

All buses on the tourist lines from anywhere in Mexico will deliver you to the 'Central' or main bus station. If the bus stops elsewhere in Monterrey, (most likely outside a little satellite office), wait until it stops at the main bus station. The main bus station is HUGE (takes up 4-5 whole city blocks), and most all of the people will stay on the bus until it stops there.

I heard that they also have a workers visa too. I will probably check that out as well, since I may be able to expand my business into Monterrey. During the daytime hours in Monterrey, I could be prospecting for new business, which would also allow me to write off my trips into Mexico. I might as well combine business with pleasure.

I also heard there is some kind of permit required for entry into manufacturing facilities, but I don't remember what they call it. Something like a "K-13" or something like that. Anyway, I will need to find out all of the particulars so I don't get hauled off a bus by soldiers in the wee hours, or worse.

I will also need to check into which of the bus services are available for the trip from Hidalgo to Monterrey. Do you happen to know if it's somebody like Greyhound, or if it's a Mexican based carrier?

It is a Mexican based carrier.
But I think you can get a bus from Hidalgo station that can get you to the Bus station at Reynosa.
I'll get you the name of the Bus Line that charges like 30 bucks to get you over here... first class and all that BS.

Ok, thanks Carlos, that would be very helpful...I checked out the Greyhound web site, and the Greyhound Mexico site is in Spanish. I can bearly speak Spanish, much less read it. So, any information you can provide would be most helpful.

For the benefit of others wanting to travel further than twenty miles into Mexico, I did research the issue about the travel visa. The Mexican consulate does have a web site, and it's got relatively good informative. According to their recommendations, you should obtain the travel visa at the Visitors Center, which I believe is usually located just before you cross over the bridge. Apparently, the cost is $20.00, and there is a form to be filled out, and then you have to back track to a bank where you can pay the $20 and they mark the form paid. Then, you carry this "paid" form with you while in Mexico. I think the visa is good for about six months, but then it must be renewed.

The web site discourages you from applying for a visa at one of the consulates in advance of your trip. The site recommends that it is best to do it at the visitor's center before you cross the bridge. In addition to the tourist visa, I believe you must also carry an original birth certificate with you to prove citizenship while in Mexico. A driver' s license is not considered adequate proof of citizenship.

Bob, I've got comments on 2 guys that have come down here and are the following:

"He needs a permit if he is travelling outside of 25 miles from the border. This is essentially a visa except visas are not needed by americans travelling in Mexico. The passport is required to return to the USA as well as the ID in Mexico"

And...

"He needs his drivers license and an official copy of his birth certificate, and a visa, or a passsport and a visa.
The visa is obtained as he crosses the border and is typically not obtained by most americans who are only going to the border towns.
But technically it is a requirement. I have traveled as far as Mexico City and Monterrey without one, but alwasy was asked for it when I returned to Tijuana airport by the immigration officers standing there".

Surf around and youl find destinations, hours, prices, everything. go for first class when searching and remember that sometimes the bus might go to, lets say, San Luis Potosi as a destination, but it passes via Monterrey.
When at the bus station, ask for first class bus. Price diference is minimum. And they are the best.

Hey Carlos,

I was studying the map you provided a couple of weeks ago, and I want to visit a number of the clubs that you and Porker previously recommended, such as Matehuala and Infinito.

Are these clubs within walking distance of Hotel Fastos, is it safe to walk to them at night, and how far away are they from the Hotel?

I also want to visit Poisson and TVO, which I know will require a taxi. Is it best to have the hotel call a taxi for me, or are they usually available outside the hotel and outside the clubs so I can easily find safe transportation at any hour of the day? If so, are they available even until late at night? I know I may have to be insistent that they take me where I want to go, but I don't want to use them if they are unreliable, or if there is some danger of being a crime victim or something.

Hey guys, this might sound like a really dumb question, but what's the best method for making phone calls back to the USA from Monterrey. Also, what is the USA prefix that must be dialed before dialing the US number? Is it best to purchase an international phone card after I arrive in Monterrey or can one be purchased in the USA and used without any problems in Mexico?

Bob... I sent you an e-mail with the Monterrey map that includes the Fastos Hotel... you'll get your bearings that way.
The hotel has a Taxi Stand right outside. No problem with that.
Poisson has taxis and I know that as a fact cause one of the guys that dropped on Monterrey one day told me that he had no problems with transportation. And he was staying quite far from the downtown area.
The guys at the TVO will get you a taxi if you need one.
And don't worry about taxis. Sit in the front with them if possible and try chatting with the driver. These guys are more afraid of the clients than you should be of them (we've had a nasty flap of taxi drivers being held up by the clients).
And yes to be insistent. Maybe, just maybe, they might try to act as if they don't know where the clubs are just to take you to places where they get commisions.
If you don't have the adresses of the places you want to go, I'll get them for you. That way the driver has no excuse.
And print the map too... that helps.

Chango is right on using Telmex prepaid public phone cards. They go for 50 pesos and you can use them from public phones. Cheaper than anything else... well, at least for us here in Mexico.

If you have addresses for them I would appreciate it very much. I think the addresses for the recommended MP’s are on the message board somewhere, so I should be able to get those on my own.

Any other "must visit" type recommendations, please let me know. I Know Amnesia and Premier are rated highly on the message board, but I get the impression that "play 4 pay" doesn't go on there, and that they may be very expensive. What do you think about them as well? Are they a ripoff?

Also, Porker mentioned something about the train being convenient to use. But, with my limited Spanish do you think I could find my way around using the train? What is the procedure to use the train? How do you pay, etc...?

Amensia and Premiere are "high class" clubs. They can be fun to go and have a nice time looking at the girls, but thats all. Any atempt to start a talk with the girls could make the tab go over 100 dlls just for a few minutes of chat with no results...

Hey spongeBob , Carlos is correct that places do exist where the tab could go up to a $100.00 just to chat & you go home/hotel with the case of the blue balls !!!!!!!!!! .The MP's are great , everytime I go I find new places and new faces., plenty of regular bars and strip clubs..,Carlos can tell u about Matehuala, I like it toooo ,lots of chicas there. /Also ,theres this huge dance hall goin east down Madero two or three blocks from Zaragoza on the left . Friday and Sat nights they have a band plenty of regular chicas to pick up on.Hey Carlos , I saw some site on the web somthing like clsificados MTY etc.. had listings of MP's ,Posible mas de 50 lugares .

The best bet to have all the MPs at hand would be buying El Sol, the afternoon tabolid newspaper. They carry advertisments for almost all the joints here in Monterrey, plus adress and prices.

Re: Taxis, they are EVERYWHERE and 24x7 and CHEAP. You will NOT have any problems with them. The metrorail is an option going from the main bus station area to the bars/massage places 20+ blocks (about a mile) away, or if you want to explore a little bit of the city. If you look at your map, it runs the length of Colon, so you can use that to stay oriented. There are maps of the route on every subway car and at every station.

The Matehuala is literally 2 1/2 blocks from the Hotel Fastos. The infinito is 3 blocks straight down Villagran. The Imperio 3 blocks straight down Colon. If you're nervous the first time, take a taxi. It will cost you a whopping 6 or 7 pesos and the driver won't laugh at you being a pussy and cabbing it the 3 blocks like I will!

As Carlos says, the massage places are all listed in the Sol. I can tell you the prices and maybe the hours of all the places, but only YOU can decide if the talent there is worth spending time with. Quality at any massage place will be hit and miss, even from day to day in any one place. It ain't like the Matehuala where all the girls seem to have picked out their own little spot and are there 6+ days a week. One tip I will give you is to AVOID the Verssace at 615 Carlos Salazar. The prices are 3x as high as anywhere else in Monterrey, 600 pesos for full service.

I'd have to say my current favorite massage place is 1031 Arteaga. If there's nothing to like there, there are two cheap places within two blocks, 931 Arteaga and 848 Madero (upstairs), where prices start at 120 pesos for basic service.

Re: calling the U.S., as always the advice here is dead on. Buy a telmex phone card and use the payphones. The cards cost 30-50 pesos and are available at almost any convenience store. Dial 001-area code-number to call the US. Rates from the payphones should be 5 pesos per minute.

For those that are coming to Monterrey, have a great time, and if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help, and I'm sure Carlos would too.

Re:TVO, I like the Extasis better. Same ownership, slightly cheaper at Extasis, usually more girls. TVO is superconvenient, though, if you're staying at the Hotel Yamallel, as it and Good Music are just a block from there. So's Verssace massage, but I told you to stay away from that place unless you like being price gouged like a stupid gringo.

Re: upscale places, I have been to Poisson, Premiere and Obsession, and have a strong preference for Obession. Of course I go in the afternoons, generally, though, when the prices are cheaperand they have their excellent buffet and I NEVER spend any money on the overpriced girls, so you may be more adventurous than I usually am.

Sorry for the late report, but I bussed into MTY from Houston Saturday morning, booked a room at the Yamallel, and promptly passed out until afternoon.

At that point, I walked over to Matehuela, drank a few brandys (21 pesos), and noticed that a very fine chica was standing in a crowd with no clientes in sight. I had a mesero get her attention, and we went downstairs for a 50 pesos privado. This chica's name was Dulce (her first attempt to give me a name was unintelligible, so she threw out Dulce instead). This chica is from Torreon, and is reasonably hot for MTY, or anyplace else, if 90-60-90 is your thing.

The privado was brief, but provocative.

When I visited "Obsession", I ran into another monger who said "Amnesia" is actually better than "Obsession". I was very impressed by Obsession because it has a lot of 10's. According to this other monger, Amnesia has Obsession beat. I was going to try and get over to Amnesia, but I ran out of time. Anybody been to Amnesia? What did you think? How about a little review of Amnesia (Cost, Quality, Atmosphere, Pay4Play, etc...)

I found Amensia to be full of absolutely gorgeous women, at least from the standard measurement of perfect proportions and pretty face, etc.. However, sometimes that 'standard' look gets boring, and other things are important to different people. Also, remember that several of these clubs in Monterrey are owned by the same person, and he rotates those girls around his clubs. therefore, what you saw in one this week may not be what you saw in that one. I forget which clubs are connected or owned by which others, Carlos can tell you that. He knows them all.

As far as money, Amensia was expensive..then, most of those top draw ones all are. To me, the key is to go to a club that has fewer 10's, but has some just the same, and doesn't cost as much...and, the 7-8's are nice as well...and what may be attractive to one guy may not be the hot thing for another....

I guess what I am saying is it really becomes a personal choice of what one likes..I do know that I liked the women at one club one week, and went back there 3 months later and those particular girls weren't that hot on that night...it makes a difference which nights of the week also...it is constantly changing (on purpose by the owners). My favorite place lately has been Spugna, mainly cause I can walk from downtown hotel, and there are several beauties in there, and the place isn't overcrowded with US and European and Japanese businessmen all flloughting dollar bills...so your contribution is more appreciated...I don't feel as much pressure for them to slam watered down drinks...

I also like the medium places like TVO, Infinito, etc., but of course there aren't near the quantity of flashy girls there....but some great ones are in there....It is all according to what you like and really, the only way to know...IS to GO!

As Viajero says Amnesia is EXPENSIVE as is sister Premiere. You may see wonderful girls, but there is no hanky panky here. Arranging something with a girl to do outside might go up to 250 dlls IF you can do it (if the house catches the girls they fine them with 100 dlls, ergo the price they charge)
And yes, I also go to lesser clubs where you can do much more and fix something with the girls before or after her shift.
And also lots of rotation too.

warning-very long report!!!

i sincerely appreciate all of the assistance i’ve received from the information contained on the board, especially the number of posts from carlos and porker. thanks guys!!! also, in the spirit of returning the favor, i’ve decided to post a review of my first trip to monterrey. it’s very long, but hopefully it will also provide some others with some additional information and guidance.

as a first-timer in monterrey, here are some reviews of the clubs i visited based on my own personal like and dislikes. as you guys have pointed out, there is no right or wrong perspective as everyone has different preferences. actually, i didn’t realize what my preferences were until i had experienced several of the clubs in monterrey. i visited matehuela, extasis, infinito, tvo, obsession, two new clubs near infinito on the same street (don’t remember their names), and poisson. in my humble opinion, the four clubs i enjoyed the most during this trip were poisson, tvo, obsession, and extasis, in that order. yes, poisson is outrageously priced, but for me it was the best experience i had while in monterrey. i don’t know if my opinions will remain consistent from one visit to the next because i think each visit holds a unique potential, and you just never really know from one time to the next how your experiences are going to rate. for example, if you factor cost into the equation, tvo was probably a better experience than poisson.

philosophically, i think you have to know what your own personal preference are and act on them when you find certain clubs that fit your personal preferences. it may be that only a few of the clubs in monterrey will fit your personal preferences.

by the way, i walked from the hotel fastos to matehuela, infinito, and extasis without incident. however, it’s a little scary late at night, and i would recommend using a taxi. i never felt threatened, but some of the side streets were kind of dark, and things can turn ugly very fast in a city as large as monterrey. so, i got by with it this time, but i will probably use the taxis on my next trip. taxis are all over the place, and cheap, even up until the 4am-5am, and most of the more popular clubs seems to have taxis waiting to transport customers all night long.

matehuela
well, my first experience in monterrey was when i visited matehuela. i actually visited matehuela twice during my stay in monterrey, and i enjoyed the first experience better than the second one. my first experience was on a thursday night, and i liked the fact that they have so many girls there. there are numerous different types of girls walking around, and they have a lot of girls dancing on stage at one time. i purchased a private dance and was lead to the basement to a darkened booth. unfortunately, i would have preferred the booth to have a little more light. the only thing i could see in the darkened booth was her beautiful white teeth when she smiled at me. i decided to go beyond a private dance to full service, and it was enjoyable, but too rushed and too dark. i think the cost was somewhere between $35-$50us total. i don’t remember the cost exactly, but i think it was like $10-$15 at the entrance to the stairway leading to the booth area, then it was $20 for full service, which i paid directly to her, and then i paid another $10-$15 for the private dance, which i think i paid to the guard in the basement area. i just remember thinking that the experience seemed kind of expensive for what i got. i think it probably cost more than i expected because i had originally purchased a private dance, and then switched gears to full service while in the booth. i thought it seemed a little expensive that way, and i have preferences toward experiences that are less rushed and more intimate where i can get to know her a little better. in addition, i wish the music wasn’t so loud. it’s very difficult to talk with a girl when the music is being played too loudly.

my second visit to matehuela was on friday night, and i was going to try to meet up with carlos and porker. but, when i arrived it was packed, and there wasn’t anywhere to sit down. there were even more girls walking around and up on stage than on thursday night, but the guy competition for their attention was too much for me. i gave up on being able to locate carlos and porker (sorry guys-i’ll try to catch up with you on the next trip). i stayed long enough for one drink, and then decided that i wanted to check out some other clubs. later, carlos informed me that my visits were in conjunction with the soccer playoffs, and there were extra large crowds as a result.

overall, matehuela is definitely a place i would recommend visiting. but, the longer i sampled the clubs in monterrey, the more i realized that i personally like more intimate settings and experiences that are less rushed where i can get to know the girls better. i will visit matehuela again, but i will impose spending limits and my approach will probably change on my next visit.

extasis
after my initial visit to matehuela, i walked over to extasis. this is small intimate club, and i liked it very much. i would rate the girls as 6-7’s there, but it is a much more intimate setting. but, the music is too loud and the air is too smoke filled.

i enjoyed sitting with an affectionate girl on my lap on the couches against the wall, and we got to know each other a little better. i enjoyed the session, which consisted primarily of kissing, and a table dance. i didn’t spend a lot of time at extasis; just enough time to sample the environment. but i liked it, and i want to return there next trip to spend more time. this could be the kind of club that fits my personal preferences, so i plan to give it more attention on my next trip.

i took a taxi over to tvo from hotel fastos. i think it costs like $4. i really liked tvo because of the quality of the girls, the “jarra” deal (a $35 pitcher for the chica), and the intimate setting upstairs. when i arrived, the waiter, victor, brought over a pretty twenty year old girl named fernanda. we watched the floor show and talked for a little while. then, we went upstairs where we were able to get to know each other better. our session was tame and consisted of kissing, talking, caressing, and one private table dance, which was fantastic. fernanda only spoke a little english, but we communicated very well together. i bought two jarras during the time i was there. i found this to be a very enjoyable experience. fernanda was trying to decide whether to meet me at my hotel at midnight, but she never showed. when we were discussing the possibility of meeting she seemed reluctant, and was trying to decide whether she should or not. i think she was concerned because she didn’t really know me yet. she agreed to go to dinner with me, and get to know me better. she was a very nice girl, and i don’t know if she really does anything other than private dances. anybody know fernanda? she seemed like she was considering coming to my hotel, but she never showed up. i doubt if i could have gotten her into fastos anyway.

after i finished with fernanda, i went back downstairs to watch the floor show for a little while. later, fernanda came downstairs, and advised me to rest up at the hotel so we could meet later. it seems like she didn’t want me to end up with another girl. as i watched the floor show, my waiter asked if i would like another girl. i said no, and i told him that i liked fernanda very much. my waiter, victor, enjoyed practicing his english with me, and we talked for about a half hour as i watched the floor show. victor is a very nice guy, and he seems like he will take good care of you. i went back to the hotel and waited around until about 12:30 but fernanda never showed up. maybe she just wasn’t sure whether she should come to the hotel, or maybe i just missed her. i may try to see her at tvo on my next trip. oh well…next candidate…

obsession
i arrived at obsession by taxi at about 1:00am. i was seated and immediately joined by two gorgeous blonde girls. both were hard bodies, and they were double teaming me for a private session. it would have been a lot of fun, but too expensive so i declined. i think the cost for both girls in a private was around $55 each. i don’t know whether full service was available with these two, but it seemed a possibility. i only bought one drink for the two blondes and they moved on. i saw a very beautiful dark haired beauty dressed in a mid-east headress of some kind. she looked very exotic and she was very pretty. but, she said she doesn’t do full service. so, apparently she only does private dances with no hanky panky. she said she is a good girl. she offered to point out the good bad girls so i could have a session, but i sensed that the cost at obsession could run very high for a good bad girl session, so i declined. she left to perform a dance on stage and i started talking to the guy in the chair next to me, and he told me the he thinks amnesia is actually better than obsession. i couldn’t hardly believe that because i was seeing a lot of 10’s there at obsession. anyway, i was becoming curious and wanted to visit amnesia so i left obsession and caught a taxi to go over to amnesia. but, by this time it was getting late, and i had heard that amnesia would be closing around 2:30am. so, i was trying to decide where to go when the taxi driver urged me to try poisson, which he said would be open until 5am. so, away we went to poisson.

i had my best experience at poisson. i also spent an unbelievable amount of money there. i will not let that happen again. in fact, i may avoid poisson and the temptation to spend such an amount again. but, it was a fantastic experience. when i arrived, a waiter brought over a dark haired girl named monserrat. then, monserrat called over two of her girl friends, carla (blonde hair), and her sister (don’t remember her name, but she was very cute, and had blond hair also). well, i was buying drinks for three girls. that alone was outrageously expensive. then, monserrat suggested we all have a threesome in a private room. i agreed to go to the private room with monserrat and carla’s sister and the cost was $160. carla’s sister would not do full service, but they would perform a lesbo show too for an additional $40-$50, which i could take it or leave it, but i took it anyway. i know, i must have been nuts to spend all this money… anyway, after carla’s sister and monserrat were done with their show, and had given me an intense two girl private dance in the room, carla’s sister left. then, monserrat gave me full service with condom included in the price. is this common? i thought it was not likely to get full service in a private room at poisson. anyway, let me know if i received something that is uncommon. monserrat had me tip the guard who apparently agreed not to interrupt us during the deed. my experience at poisson was very special, and monserrat gave me her number so i could contact her outside poisson for a session. she said she would spend all night with me for about $250. does that sound like the going rate. it sounds a little high to me. i had a great time with those girls at poisson, but i think i was really raped in more ways than one. oh well, it was fun, and i will be wiser when i visit next time. guys, i apologize if i ruined the market price structure with my foolishly high expenditures.

I enjoyed reading your revelations. My opinion about Monterrey is that it is one of the best places to see such a wide variety of women and experiences in such a compressed area. I know no other place where so much is so available to experience in such a short access....

I am sure that some place has some...but most places with such variety are located in VERY large metropolises that are much more difficult to tranverse....

Additionally, there can be had all kinds of fun in these places...a real treat, and at the less costly ones, you are hustled like so many places..such a pleasure.....

I completely agree about the options available in Monterrey, but many of those options I can't explore because I don't have the cash. While the idea of spending $200 US on a booth party at Poisson makes me dizzy and feel nauseated, I'm sure there are whales that make these things happen every day. I have never really been to Obsession during prime time, but even the daytime action there is too expensive for me.

When this happens, you will end up buying drinks for two or three girls at a time. These girls are professional seductresses, and they can really make those drinks disappear quickly. The dollars really add up fast, and the girls know how to stretch their welcome. My bill at Poisson would have been half as much if I had put a stop to the double & triple teaming. I should have seen it coming, but this was my first trip to Monterrey. I was blinded by the novelty of it all. I will be much wiser and looking to avoid these kinds of tactics on my next trip.

I could have probably spent a week over at Matehuela for what it cost me at Poisson. No brag, just fact.

Carlos Perez is THE MAN. I hereby dub him Mr. Monterrey. If you’re a monger and you visit Monterrey for the first time without consulting THE MAN, you’re missing out. He definitely knows the town.

I emailed him and within one day he responded with THE MAP and cell phone number. I called him up, just to say hello, and he says, “I’ll be right over in 10 minutes.” Sure, okay. He shows up and we chat for a bit and then he says, “Let’s go to Matehuala.” Sure, okay.

He’s totally right about the place. It’s a unique experience. It’s a very large bar with 2 stages. When we showed up the stages were stuffed with girls doing the “line-up” waiting for guys to come pick them up and go downstairs to the “roman orgy area.” There was quite a wide selection, from fat and old to young and thin. Cold and mean-looking to sexy hottie. I didn’t expect to see any girls worth having fun with, but I was pleasantly surprised. The oddest thing is that there is almost NO interaction with the girls prior to going downstairs. You pick them off the stage and go get busy. No foreplay. All action. “Hit and run,” as Carlos says. The second oddest thing was the groping of the girls on stage who were dancing (later, after the line-up). The girls danced for 4 songs: 3 clothed and 1 nude/partially nude. But as the girls danced near the edge, the men raised their hands and groped the girls and rubbed their asses. Some of the girls didn’t even wear panties and the guys were rubbing their snatch. I’ve NEVER seen anything like that. In the states that would be a strip club patron's wet dream. Here it was just a freebie. One girl in particular, Vanessa, was extremely hot. Carlos described the action and we drank a couple drinks and then left to visit another place. It’s basically 50 pesos per each 4 minutes, with an extra fee for certain activities 100 pesos for oral, 200 for FS. (I’d give more details, but Carlos has described it better in previous posts, and I’d just be guessing.) He says you can salida with a girl for 1000 pesos to the girl and another 300 pesos to the club. I think that’s for an hour or so, maybe more. Bottom line: It’s not as scary as some of the other posters have led us to believe, and there are attractive girls there if you look hard enough – but GET IN LINE!

So we drove to Divain, a local brothel. Here it is a club with a jukebox and lots of couches and a few girls. The girls all sat off to one corner. Carlos embarrassed me by asking a waiter to have the girls do a walk-by. They all come by and kiss on the cheek. Then loiter nearby. It’s intended that you choose one of them, but we were just looking. Besides, the only other girl I found attractive (besides his friend, who was very busy) didn’t come over. “She hates me,” Carlos says. Anyway, her name was Leonela (sp?) and she was just about my type. Though, it was hard to gauge her attitude. Carlos finally had the waiter call her over and I met her, but mentioned we were just looking tonight – maybe later. He said cost for 45 minutes was about $130 USD plus room. Total cost might be $140 USD. Any drinks are extra. I might be back for Leonela.

Then we drove to Casa Blanca and checked in there. Almost NO action there, although there were 15 or so girls, all who did another embarrassing walk-by. Of these, I found only one. She was a very petite little hardbody, by the name of Esela (sp? I need to learn how to spell these names, but it sounded like ee-zell-ah). She spoke zilcho English, but after the walk-by, she sat across from me and smiled the whole time. A silly little smile. I felt bad because I liked her, but we were just looking and had a deadline to meet. Carlos said the prices were higher here, $150 USD for the same bit as Divain. 2 hot girls at Divain and 1 at Casa Blanca. I’ll probably go for Esela first because she’s a little hardbody, and even though she doesn’t speak any English, she looked like a LOT of giggly, silly fun. As my fellow Madrid mongers know, I am a sucker for nice girls, and she was by far the nicest and warmest. Could just be her act, but who cares?

So we sampled a few places, but didn’t consume anything. Maybe later. No biggie. I’m learning from b69 (Madrid WSG expert) to take things just a LITTLE more slowly. In addition to the sampling, Carlos drove me by virtually every place of interest in the area, providing a running commentary of what was good and what was expensive. Clearly his favorite is Matehuala, though.

Props to Carlos! You are THE MAN.

NOTE: while I have yet to actually get with a girl in Mexico, I must say that the action appears to be a LOT less exciting than Madrid. In Matehuala, there is very little interaction with the girls, and in the brothels there are not so many customers around, making it intimidating choosing a girl. Whereas in Madrid the bars (like Pigmalion) and the brothels (like Flowers Park) are PACKED with both girls and guys and there is much mingling. It’s easy to just chat up a girl and get to know her without “choosing” her purely based on looks. We’ll let things develop and see if I get proved wrong.

I will tell you that you can have just as much, if not more interaction in Mexico as in Madrid...it just takes time and going to the right places at the right times...or just being there....I have been to both places, and will tell you that Monterrey offers a lot...a lot...

Next night in Monterrey… Took a British colleague out to Matehuala. It was his last night in town, and he needed some relaxation, Monterrey style. We arrived just in time for the 10:30 p.m. line-up. The waiter sat us at the stage, but I’m not a groper, so we moved back so we had a better view of the stage and the stairs for downstairs. Eventually we saw some really attractive girls. Anyway, it costs us $70 to get in and tipped the “maitre’d” guy $10. He brought over a couple of girls who were attractive enough, and so we bought some “pitchers” for the girls. The were very friendly and paid us quite a bit of attention. I had Barbie, who had fake tits, but was otherwise very sexy. She did let me lick her snatch – just a bit. At the bar/restaurant combo place on the same street as Maxims and those hotels..it is across the street from one parking lot and up the stree from another...It always has live music in the evenings, and a good happy hour..can't think of the name right now, but Carlos probably knows the name..is on the north side of that street.

The bar is on one side and the more formal restaurant is next to it, but you can walk through to both from each other...

anyway, I found a rather ugly, but big titted one who wanted a 1,000 pesos once. I just didn't think she was anywhere near the price though, but in the interim, picked up another just ordinary gal and we went dancing...and lo and behold, the last three times to Monterrey has been staying with me at my hotel a couple nights each trip....

But lately, I have been going back there when not with her for food and drink and I see more and more women alone or in small groups in there...older ones (30's and above) who are on the hunt!! Can see it in their eyes. Unfortunately when visitiing recently I have been with clients and unable to chase.

Also, Carlos told me about Ciceros, just down the street from there, and it is definitely a place where ladies go on weekends...weekdays tends to see couples and what looks frequently like guys with their mistresses...

anyway...if looking for a GFE type...would check this place out...

as far as the other clubs...in my opinion each club has its scene and value and depends what a guy is looking for on a particular day, time, and urge...that is why Monterrey is so outrageously good...so much to choose from in such a small area....is really great...

However, between those two parking lots there isn't much on the north side in the way of restaurant/bars...and certainly not one that is two places in one. How about this hint: Inside it is old stone. Or at least the appearance of old stone. Wants to make you think the place was built in colonial times...When you walk in the bar side, there is a bar on the right, then a stage. As you walk past the bar there are some tables on the left, then you can see an opening where there are other tables on the other side of the wall...cross over in the middle, and then you pass to the other side, to the more formal restaurant......there is a little beauty shop almost next door (east side) or two down...I looked for the receipt to try to find the name, but can't.. I told myself I was going to remember the name, but forgot to do that...if you send me your map of that area I can probably reduce it to a block or so...

Some questions on Matehuala... is it easy to drive there from the airport hotels? (I have driven in Monterrey a few times and I know a little bit my way around).
Is it safe to park there? I am going to have a rental car so technically I don't give a damn whatever happen to it, just would be a hassle...
Do you think is better to take a taxi?
I have been before to TVO and liked the informal atmosphere. Is the Matehuala completely different? Is it cash only or do they accept credit cards? If so, is it safe to use it there?

stranger99 - I'm not Carlos, but, yes matehuala is easy to reach by car form the airport - it's about 10-15 min away. Just head into town and turn on to Colon under the train tracks and follow them down. I can never remember the cross street that Matehuala is on but you won't have any trouble finding it. I just drive way west and then go south 2 blocks to Madero and head back east. It's right there on the left. But watch for the big flashing red neon letters of this big cabrito restaurant - Matehuala is across the street. I always park on Madero.

I have been remiss in not posting all of my adventures in Monterrey.

A week and a half ago, I spent a Friday lunch with Carlos at the Obsession buffet. All you can eat for 100 peso. Not too bad. I have had awesome food all over Mexico, but the food here was only so-so for Mexico. In addition to drinks and tips (of which Carlos made me pay most of :-), I ended up dropping 170 pesos all total. Not bad for lunch with a view. Although I think these girls are not exactly my type.

Last week, we visited Matehuala (of course) and ogled the usual suspects: Cassandra, Vanessa, Yaretzi, Jennifer, Claudia, and the mysterious Mirabel. Jennifer didn't looked all that interested, and Carlos wanted to visit Divain, so off we went.

At Divain, his girl was occupied, but he pointed out Mane - a girl who was just my type. Carlos would make an excellent real estate agent. If you point out a few girls you like and dislike, he gets pretty good at choosing girls for you. Just like houses. We chatted, but it turns out I was JUST a bit shy of the required funds. And I had a hankering for Claudia. So BACK we went to Matehuala. Carlos intervened for me, but it turns out it was Claudia's time of the month, so she couldn't salida. So we went home.

Last night, I dropped by Matehuala alone(!) to try and hook up with Claudia. It was pretty empty. Of the primo girls (listed above) only the mysterious Mirabel was in attendence. But oddly enough, she was extremely busy. I also got to finally see her dance. She is a hot dancer. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to work up the courage to fight off the other Mexicans to get downstairs with her. Let's just say the mystery has been revealed. Mirabel is EXTREMELY hot (by Buster's standards). She has a totally hard body. She definitely works out at the local gym. Her only two defects are a small chest and a lack of English. But other than that, she is easily the hottest-looking girl in Monterrey. That I've had the pleasure of seeing, anyway. I signed up for 6x4-min sessions. She said sex was 300 pesos. I figued she was either giving me the "gringo tourist special" or just charging extra for the muscular hard body. Either way, I wasn't going to fret about $10. I pounded as hard as I could against her tight ass, but never could come. I'm just not enjoying sex: 1) on hard chairs, or 2) standing up; of which we did both. With buying the condom, and tipping some dudes, I spent a total of 650 pesos. BTW, I think the sign in guy at the stairs tried to gyp me a dance, since he only gave Mirabel 5 tickets until I called him on it.

Reporting live from Monterrey...

Met Carlos and another WSGer (stranger99?) at Matehuala tonight. Also met some of Carlos' other friends from his yahoo board. Carlos was nice enough to translate for me and helped set up a salida with Claudia, whom I have been lusting after for over 2 weeks now. Via Carlos, she says she has never done salida, because she is night shift and didn't know what to charge. I wanted to go and not come back, and that was gonna cost extra. She said she'd think about it while she danced her set. After her dance, she came over to our table and wanted me to buy her a cerveza. 50 pesos for a girl's beer (and they drink 'em pretty fast, too). Finally, between her, the manager, and Juarez, we agreed on 400 peso bar fine and 2,400 pesos for her "all night." Okay, fine. My comrades in Madrid know I am not averse to paying when I think it's worth it - more on that later...

Carlos was also nice enough to supply some condoms, since I didn't have any, and the cost was going to tap me out completely. Juarez allowed me to pay dollars, and he gave me a reduced bar fine of only $35, although I still think I got the "gringo tourist special." I tipped him a 20 peso note on the way out also. So we walked out to the car and found out I had to bring her back by 5:00 a.m. Okay fine, whatever. That would still be 4-1/2 hours, anyway.

So we get to the hotel (Sheraton) and had ZERO trouble getting in. The parking attendent took my car and we walked in and didn't even see anyone else. She asked for another cerveza, which we took from the mini-bar. I paid up the 2,400 pesos and we took a shower as a warm-up and then commenced to the main event. CBJ followed by some good sex and a little bit of muff diving. Then more sex. I FINALLY blew my wad after working up quite a sweat. Mucho alivio.

Then she starts saying Spanish stuff I don't understand (she speaks no English). I bust out the dictionary for her to point out the word. Nope. Can you write it? ¿escribe? Nope. ?! I guess she can't read or write. Wow. Okay. I finally figure out she is saying cancela. WTF. So I call Carlos, who is still out and about at Divain with stranger(?). He gets on the phone with her and then tells me that she wants me to take her back. SIGH... Okay, but I want some money back. He tells her to give me my money back and that I'll pay her half. So I gave her 1,200 pesos. I also gave her 50 pesos for cab fair. Heck if I am gonna drive her back after this switcheroo! [Note: If I thought about it earlier, I'd have demanded a pro-rated rate, given that we spent about 1/4 of the expected time together.] Carlos then tells me he's gonna pull my ear for taking her out., saying he knew she wasn't worth it. DUDE! You're THE MAN! You're supposed to warn me before I spend the money.

But, I had a good session with her and it was worth it in my estimation, although I would have preferred she stuck to the original plan, but this way I don't have to pay an extra 1,200 pesos to have a warm teddy bear for 3 hours. (I was only planning for 1 pop.)

I still like her anyway. She's a decent roll in the sack, and I think she's pretty hot for a Mexican girl.

All total I spent 1,730 pesos: 40 pesos for two waters, 10 peso tip, 50 pesos for Claudia's beer, ~350 peso bar fine, another 20 peso tip to Juarez, 1,200 to Claudia, 50 for a taxi, and 10 pesos to the parking dude. Now, I could have gone to Divain and spent about the same or slightly less on Mane, who is arguably better looking and also speaks a little English. But in this case, I got to have sex in my OWN room with some peace and quiet and not the loud noise from the other places, and not being rushed for time. But, it turns out (from Carlos) that Mane wasn't working this evening anyway. Oh well.

Carlos is still THE MAN! And we'll have to read about stranger's adventures. I heard Carlos last saw him at Divain.

So now I am departing. When I come back in a few weeks, I may either try out Divain, or risk another salida adventure with either Mirabel (CALIENTE!) or Jennifer. Claudia's gotta either stick to the plan or come down in price if she wants some more of Buster!

Carlos, thanks for showing me around 1st time here in Mexico. Its been said many times before but you are the man. Gave me the tour of Monterrey and the Map before we met up with Buster at Matehuala. Bought a couple of beers (16 pesos, threw in a tip) and was schooled in the ways of Monterrey by Buster and Carlos. Made it there in time for the lineup which was a sight to see. Probably about 40-50 women on stage between the change of shifts (10:30-11 or so). Great thing about the spot that Buster and I agreed on is the selection varies so there is something for everyone. Decided to save my money for carlos' second spot while Buster scouted prospects. I asked him to get Alternate #2 and Alternate #3 into a bidding war for lowest exit rate but he decided to go with #2. That ended our night at Matehuala and Carlos and Myself went to Divain.

Divain was pretty empty and quiet when we got there. Again Carlos filled me in on the place. I hear a "uh oh, sorry" from Carlos and turn around to see the line up behind my couch... they all introduce themselves... kiss on the cheek... not as embarrasing as i've heard on the board but maybe thats because I asked Carlos what my "obligations" are to the place beforehand. Carlos was talking to one of the girls there, she gave me the name of the girl that I selected and called her over. Carlos filled me the cost was 1,350 before we called her over. She sat with me, had a drink... she knew about as much english as I knew spanish so after a while we talking. Carlos signalled that he had to leave, talked to the Divain people about getting me a cab and I went to one of the rooms. Carlos also told me they have jacuzzi rooms also for a lil bit more which would of been great if I had taken more pesos with me.

My one caution of this place is beware of the tip. Go into the room and a lady brings in towels, condom, soap, etc... she wants a tip of 100 pesos which my girl pleads for also. I thought what not giving 100 would have done to my already spent 1,350 and coughed it up. Cleaned up in the bathroom with her came back in the room and started the fiesta. 30 or so minutes later party's over and she asks me how long i'm here. Long story short she we arrange for her to call me after work tomorrow at between 7 and 8 so she can spend a couple hours with me (almost entirely in spanish... pretty proud of myself). She said she would stay longer and go into work late tomorrow. Of course for a price of 1,500 pesos, nothings free. Leaving the place the doorman who was opening the door and suposed to get my cab begged for a tip of a 100 pesos tip and the guy who ran down the street to get me a cab asked for 100 pesos. They got a $5 and $1 American. Cab was about 20 pesos (including tip) back to the hotel and I'm calling it a night.

No telling what i'm going to do tomorrow but i can pick up the phone if I wanna see the girl from Divian or see more of Monterrey if I don't. Its nice to have options.

I was supposed to spend 2 nights in Monterrey.
The 1st night got screwed up by missing my connection in IAH. This means a nice night at an IAH hotel.
Once I was in Monterrey I drove around to find Matehuala but could not find it. Somehow I did not get Carlos maps in the emai. Settled for TVO (I had already been there before and knew where it was) and had a good time.
Would have been good to catch up with you guys. Next time I will give Carlos some advance notice and make more precise arrangements.

Sorry for the no-show on Tuesday Night, but I have a good excuse that I think you will find very interesting. I was finally able to find my novia Monday night. Almost all the clubs, including TVO, are closed on Sunday night, and I spent a lot of time going to several clubs thinking that I might be able to find her at one of the clubs that she said she occassionally works at. I never found her Sunday night, but I did finally find her Monday night at TVO. I paid the salida for Monday night at TVO, and we had a great time all night back at my hotel.

She wanted to get together Tuesday night, and I was planning to pay the salida again Tuesday night, and I had worked out an agreement with my waiter at TVO when I was there Monday night to do so. I know, you and I were planning on getting together Tuesday night, but this girl is really caring and I had been having such a GFE, I just couldn't resist her. Sorry, for the no show, but I will try next trip, which only a couple of weeks away by the way.

Anyway, back to the rest of the story...
I had come in to TVO before she arrived, and informed the waiter that I was going to pay the Salida for her and that we would be leaving as soon as she arrived. When she showed up, they told her to take me upstairs and I was asked if I wanted a Jarra (pitcher of whatever for the girl). I told the waiter that I was paying the salida, and we were wanting to leave immediately. Next thing I know, the waiter is bringing me a Jarra. I decided that perhaps they wanted me to buy at least one Jarra first, and then they would let me go. You know, I thought they wanted to bleed the gringo a little before letting him loose. So, I paid for the Jarra, and my girl was sitting next me, and she says something like "what is the problem? What are they doing?". She tells me to wait a minute, and she takes off into the back room somewhere. I guess she went to find out what was going on.

She had asked me to watch her purse, and I noticed she had been gone for a very long time. Later, I notice one of the waiters picking up her purse and heading downstairs. I thought this was suspicious so I followed the waiter with the intent of trying to keep track of her stuff. I entered the stairwell to the first floor, and I see her talking to two management types. She is visibly angry and arguing with these two guys in very passionate Spanish.

Later she told me they were pressuring her to milk me for all she could. I don't know much Spanish, but she said they wanted her to stay there and work. I guess she meant they wanted her to stay there and work me over for as much money first, and then get my salida. She got mad at them because they had insisted that she get dressed for work and keep me there for as long as possible before leaving.

She got really pissed at them for trying to work me over, and she quite her job right there on the spot. They weren't going to pay her anything for her weeks work, and she really got mad at them. They finally paid up, but they still didn't pay her for a least a couple nights work. She was really mad at them and she swears she will never work for TVO again. This girl has proved to me that she genuinely cares for me. I am absolutely astounded that she lost her job over not wanting to milk me. Anyway, we left TVO and went to my hotel.

During the day on Tuesday, I had purchased a gift for her, and I had it wrapped in very pretty paper with a nice pretty red bow. I had it sitting on the chair in my room. When we arrived she was so distracted by what had happened that she didn't acknowledge the beautifully wrapped, relatively large package sitting almost immediately next to her on the chair next to the couch. We talked briefly about the nights events, and I told her I had a surprise for her. I pointed to the gift on the chair, and she started to cry. She speaks very little English, but she said "I so happy!". This girl just lost her job, and she's happy!

Anyway, she said she would not charge me anything to be with her, and she said that she loves me. I believe she does, or thinks she does anyway. We are really good together. It's not your typical mongering situation. However, I'm having second thoughts about whether it is wise of me to romance these girls any more. I really care for this girl now, and I can see that my desire for romance may be ultimately creating emotional dilemas that are difficult for me to deal with, not to mention the effect it has on the girl, who I have come to adore. She has some close friends at another club, and later Tuesday night she had already worked out an arrangement to work at the other club, and she was on the job the next day. She asked me to come with her Tuesday night to the new club for one drink, which I agreed to do. After I arrived there, it became obvious to me that she was introducing me to all her friends and kind of showing me off. She was calling me her novio and everything. By the way, I do consider myself to be her novio too because we are so good together, and it doesn't cost me anything to be with her. I mean the cost is no more than an average GFE where you buy gifts, dinner, etc... I never thought I could get into this much trouble after only two visits to Monterrey. Amazing isn't it! Carlos, I probably should have met with you Tuesday night...I need a chaparone don' t you think!!!

I've been reading up on some of your experiences too. It sounds like we may have similar tastes as far as the kinds of experiences we're looking for.

Anyway, I'm starting to have second thoughts about getting too emotionally involved with these girls. It's too difficult on my emotions. I let myself become too attached to a girl and it has emotional consequences for me that I would rather not be dealing with.

Thanks man...I just hope to see her again on my next trip to Monterrey. The word I'm hearing now is that she is no longer working for the TVO organization, which includes the place she took me to Tuesday night. But, according to Carlos, she is still in Monterrey. I've got Carlos doing a little "private investigating" for me. I've tried to call her on her car phone. The phone company message says her phone is "out of area".

I want her to meet me at the airport on my next trip into Monterrey, which is August 24th by the way. I'm going to keep trying her, and I've imposed on Carlos (THE MAN OF MONTERREY) to help me out trying to locate her and get messages to her. I'll have to see how things turn out.

USB, I'd hold off on getting her to meet you at the airport and stuff like that as it raises her expectations. Also, one thing I have learned about Mexican working girls is that too much attention can tend to smother them. Always act like you're in control and meet at times that are convenient for YOU and DO NOT wait for them. If she's 10 minutes late, move on and do something else. Let her make excuses some other time. I think these little rules keep both of you grounded.

Thanks for the advise. It is well taken, and I agree with you 100%. I will treat her as my girlfriend in Monterrey, and not over commit my wallet or my heart. I have decided that there will be no more Pay 4 Play between us. If she wants to see me in the future, it will be as a girlfriend, and without grand financial expectations. She will probably be more generously compensated with little gifts, dinners, and romantic evenings than she would be with Pay 4 Play anyway. I hope she recognizes that about me already. She probably does.

But, in the final analysis, there are too many other chicas out there and too little time to be so committed to only one chica. So, I will play it out as you have suggested. Thanks for the advise. Keep it coming whenever you think of something. You and Carlos know the ropes there in Monterrey, and I can learn much from your opinions.

Well, if you stop paying her you will definitely find out where you stand. Just be prepared for the results. Personally I'd advise that if you can afford it, to at least buy her some nice gifts or clothes or take her shopping or something so she at least thinks she is getting something out of her time with you. Otherwise your relationship might end abruptly no matter how much each of you thinks she might care about you now.

Hi Everybody,

I am planning on treating my girl just like a girlfriend. I don’t want to pay for her favors directly, but I will be giving her gifts, dinners, and just treating her in a loving manner.

The reason I want to do this is two fold actually. First, I like the GFE, and I figure that I can find out her true intentions. Talking about the Harem, there were some guys from the USA last Wednesday there. Couldn't get much from them exept that one of them knew of the place.
UnSpongebob can be my witness to the place and maybe Iam wrong but there is no club in Monterrey right now where the girls are more willing to be part of a GFE than the Harem.
It is not much, it is from the same owners as the Casino, Obsession and Prestige. It is small, fair amount of girls, but it is cheap and you can have fun with the girls and the cost won't be that high...

You can get private time with a girl at Harem where anything goes. The standard privado, is where you're only allowed to touch, kiss, hug, and possibly probe and grope certain areas very discretely. Of course, the girl will rub you in all the right places, but through your clothing only. There is a guard in the same room, and he looks in on you during the standard privado. I think the standard privado is relatively inexpensive, only $10 I think (I don't remember for sure; Carlos do you know?)

But, if you really want to go at it, you can buy the "Private" privado. The guard installs a curtain in front of their "Private" privado booth, and you can have at it. If I am remembering correctly, I think the "Private" privado booth had a couch in it too, which is a little more comfortable than the standard booth arrangement (chairs).

Anything goes in the "Private" Privado, provided the girl agrees to whatever you define as "anything". My girl did "everything" I wanted and she was very passionate about it too. But, as all good mongers know, you should qualify what you want, so as not to be disappointed. I have conventional tastes and didn't have to negotiate my definition of "anything," and I had a very nice time.

I don't know if all of the girls will do the "Private" Privado. It was only offered to me after we were in the standard privado. She wanted $80. I'm sure I was quoted a higher price because I am a gringo. But, later she offered to do it for less. I kept putting her off, and we were getting more and more into each other, and the price dropped to $55. I hope I received a bargain and wasn't charged too much at even the $55 level.

I thought the price was kind of high. I like to try and get it in exchange for a little romance, dinner, and a movie. So, that kind of tells you where I'm coming from. Of course, I realize that romance, dinner, and a movie can cost every bit of $55, but for now I like the thrill of the hunt and the challenge of the game. But, correct me if I'm wrong Carlos, I got the impression that $55 is the price that is normally quoted to locals.

Denisse is the name of girl I was with in the "Private" privado, and she is a very nice girl. She has an energetic personality and is good looking, but not a centerfold type. Just a pretty "girl next door" type that aims to please. She seemed to enjoy being with me as much as I like being with her, and that is crucial to having a GFE experience. If I can't have a GFE, I don't even want to waste my time with them.

She gave me her cell phone number, and maybe I will try out the romance angle with her off site some time. But, I only do the romance thing with girls who I really enjoy being with, and it takes time to get to know whether I want to spend "a lot" time with a girl. I haven't made up my mind about Denisse yet. Actually, I have two other girls that will be occupying my time off site on my next trip, and Denisse is further down on my dance card now.

But, Carlos is correct, you can have a lot of fun at Harem even if you only buy the girl a few drinks. Well that concludes my review of Harem. I agree with Carlos, Harem is a great choice!

USB, if the cost was 400 pesos for a privado with no additional tip for the girl for sex, that's not a bad deal. The same 15 minutes (four privados) at Matehuala or Infinito would usually cost 400 exactly plus the money for the condom. I always think of Obsession as prohibitively expensive, but if you can get an all-inclusive deal there for 550 pesos for 15 minutes in the afternoon, that's not really exorbitant. What I would WORRY about, though, is being right in the middle of something and being asked for another 550 to complete the act. At least at the Mate or Infinito each incremental privado is only 50 more pesos -- nothing when you've already invested 400+.

Of course at Harem you're expected to buy lots of drinks ahead of time to warm up the girl before you go, which wouldn't exactly 'guarantee' a GFE, IMO. At the Mate and Infinito it's much more wham-bam in-and-out, and the girls are generally very professional and workmanlike. I personally don't like Harem because they make you wait through an intermission ranchero song in between changing the ONE dancer (like her or not) on stage. Makes for a VERY bored Porker knowing that if the current dancer isn't to your liking it's gonna take 15 minutes to see the next ONE. A four song set can seem long at Mate too, but at least there the girls come in waves -- four onstage at a time.

Nice to see some Monterrey reports. I have been mostly limited to one visit for a couple hours every other week and visited the massage brothels around town where the prices start at 100 pesos for 20-30 minutes of covered half and half. I am trying to maximize my meager shekels for a return visit to Asia over the holidays. You have to know one thing Porker. Things have changed a little bit with the addition of new privados at the Obsession. They are right across the mezanine from the old privados where you pay 550 pesos in the afternoon.
Now, at the old privados, you get nothing. Not even if you pay.
The new ones, they are accesed from a door and give way to a room with a few chairs, sofas and a table with a glass window towards the dance floor.
You need to pay in the afternoon shift 5 regular dances, 750 pesos, for half an hour with the girl and you have to pay extra for "extras".
At nighttime, you have to pay 10 privados to get 45 minutes with the girl.
You are not disturbed by a bodyguard nor you have to buy a bottle for the girl.
Anyway, this system is being adopted by the Amnesia and Premier, but both are way expensive.
Worst, I know guys that love it and are paying above 5000 pesos just for a slight B/J.

My experience at Harem, with full service and all, was $45 plus the tip for the guard. I didn’t give Denisse a tip. Actually, Denisse reminded me to tip the guard, but she never asked for a tip for herself. Most people are not bashful about asking for a tip. So, she didn’t ask and I didn’t tip her; thinking that she did not expect me to tip her. I really just don’t remember to tip the girls afterward, and the girls have never acted like they are angry with me. Maybe she didn’t ask because I was already reluctant to pay the price of the Privado Especial in the first place, and she was glad I gave in so she could make a little money

I think the pricing at Obsession, Poisson, and Amnesia is very high. I would be reluctant to go to those places at this stage of my development in Monterrey; with the exception of Amnesia. But never say never.

I made an exception on my last trip and visited Poisson. It’s interesting that the upstairs arrangement with the couches and glass windows that look out over the seating area is the same in the clubs that have the same owners. I really don’t like that arrangement because you feel like everybody is watching you in there. I went upstairs for a privado that turned into a BBBJ. I don’t remember the exact cost, but it was expensive. The girl I was with was really hot. She is a thin and shapely girl with short blonde hair. I actually noticed her the first time I visited Monterrey, but I couldn’t get with her because she was continually occupied with privados, and I couldn’t shake the three other girls that were sitting with me. I spent way too much on drinks and other activities for the three girls that were with me, but I was new and didn’t know any better. Anyway, during one point in time when I was with the three girls, I was sitting directly across from this girl with the short blonde hair as she was giving one privado after another, and I couldn’t help but notice that she was very good, both in looks and technique. But, if it turns out that I like her, I want to try to see her outside of Amnesia, and I hope that will be less expensive.

"With evening work scheduled far too often this past week including last night (Friday), I didn't think that I was going to be able to hit the sex parlors of Monterrey this past week, a severely depressing notion. But when Thursday night's work engagement became highly optional (and off the clock) instead of mandatory, I lit out for Centro Monterrey like a fly towards an outhouse.

In an effort to maximize mongering funds I had decided to try and do things as cheaply as possible, and in Monterrey the degree of thriftiness possible is indeed impressive. The first order of business upon arriving in Centro at 5:30 on a rainy afternoon was a rather simple one: Get LAID! Cheaply. While the cheapest option I have found in Monterrey is 100 pesos for ½ hour including the massage room at Hawaii Masaje, partially because of the rain I headed to Premiere Masaje (on Carlos Salazar) first as it is a lot closer to the Central Bus Station where I always arrive. I could always do Hawaii for the second course.

And it's not like they're charging premium prices at Premiere, by any means. After 3 PM weekdays it's a whopping 130 pesos for ½ hour of full service including a covered BJ and multiple positions. The selection is not always great here, but there's a fat girl there that sucks a mean dick, and while I had passed on a bbbjtc for a 100 peso tip the last time, I was kind of keen on taking her up on it this past week. Except, predictably, she wasn't there.

So I had to quickly decide if any of the other 5 choices was worth the monger capital (money and leche). A rather young and firm looking chica with a nicely shaped ass certainly looked like a viable option, and I figured that for 13 bucks I didn't have much to lose. A good decision which would start the evening with a bang.

At Premiere you pay the boss lady at a desk by the door after you pick your girl instead of paying the girl when you enter the room as is the norm at almost every other place in Monterrey. The boss lady says she'll give me my 20 pesos change when I come out. No problem. Inside the room my 22 year old chica hands me a towel and says I can rinse off in the shower and she'll be right back. She flips on the TV and there's some 80's porn playing. I ask her her name and can't quite figure it out despite her repeating it twice. As an afterthought she asks my name too. Andrew Jackson.

I probably average a new massage girl in Monterrey every week or so, but there's a little anxiety that comes with itnot knowing what level of service to expect. In all the dozens of massage brothels in town your door fee gets you ½ hour of full service and includes a (sometimes extremely brief) covered bj. But in some places chicas like to play games and ask for tips up front for things that are most certainly universally standard at every one of these places like removing her top, feeling her up, etc. Whilemost chicas don't play by these rules, those that do can leave a bad taste in the mouth. These possible scenarios tend to get bandied about while standing naked waiting for the girl to return. With this one there wasn't a real need to worry.

She entered the quite large room, spread a sheet over the standard padded massage table, told me to relax on the table and then stripped to reveal an even nicer body than I thought when I saw her in the front room. Her tits were full B cups with ten peso sized nipples/aureolae, not much of a waist and the aforementioned VERY nice ass. She had the body of a 60 dollar Chicago Club (Tijuana) girl, but would need some makeup tips to work there. As I prefer a natural look, this wasn't a problem for me. Quite the opposite. A decent but less than perfect face is actually a bit of a turn on.

The standard covered BJ was a little short, but feeling her tits while she went down on me got me well elongated in a hurry. It seems like this is the signal for all Monterrey MP chicas to get to the screwing part, and she was no exception. Seemed like a good idea to me too, and I asked for her to climb on.

Most importantly, though, the late afternoon lineup can have some actual attractive chicas (including an old fave -- though usually night shift -- that will occasionally leave with me for a hotel) which for a small club is hit and miss in Monterrey. And sure enough, as I entered and ordered the first Carta Blanca (NE Mexico's local beer of choice), an actual HOTTIE was onstage. B+ tits, no gut, nice ass made even more attractive by thigh high boots with 8" heels. Couldn't have been more than 21 years old. As a friend once described a dancer we were watching: Grade A choice prime Mexicana.

I took a seat stageside and the next thing I knew she was stripped fully nude and spread eagled a foot from my face. In many bars in Monterrey that's an invitation to dive in, but La Cava is a hands off place (though still pretty much a DUMP!). Still, it was enough to make me reflect that I was one happy poor man at the moment, premium pussy staring me in the face, ice cold beer in hand, and all that was expected of me for this privilege was the BUCK I paid for a beer. NOBODY tips dancers in Monterrey. It's against the goddamned law or something.

I had made up my mind to go against all principles and pounce immediately on the dancer when she emerged from the bathroom after her set. But she headed straight for some dude's table and continued drinking with him. As another dancer hit the stage after a one song Corrida interlude, I wasn't too awfully disappointed, as I got to finish my beer in peace and the dancer was just as interesting looking, though 50% bigger. She was wearing Daisy Dukes that were just loose enough that I could see her thong underneath when she bent over slightly. Oh, and she had natural DD's also, something that ALWAYS gets the blood pumping. I quickly got another beer at the bar and was happy to be only a dollar poorer for the transaction. This was turning into a fun afternoon!
The big titted girl also got fully nude and spread eagled in my face. And of course she also headed straight for another table when she finished! But as another chica followed immediately after her, again, there was no disappointment. The next dancer was tall and slimmer than either of the first too, but also had the smallest tits. She had terrific legs and a nice smile, though, and, DAMN, I like Mexicanas in all shapes and sizes, and this was becoming like a smorgasbord lineup!

Too add to the diversity, a quite Indian looking slim, VERY young looking long haired chica walked into the bar while girl #2 was onstage. She was dressed very conservatively in jeans and a sweater, and I thought that it would be a pity that I wouldn't see her dance as she'd surely go to the back of the rotation and there were 5 other girls I could already see in the bar. As it turned out, she was a new waitress, and while I originally thought her looks interesting, when I saw she wasn't a DANCER, the desire factor tripled. Funny thing, the next time I wanted a beer I asked her to fetch me one instead of walking the 15 feet to the bar to get it myself. For the second time that day I couldn't understand the name she told me, but a whopping 5 peso tip got a killer smile that sent the desire meter much higher. Except there wasn't much to do to try and take advantage of this situation except buy her ficha drinks for hours on end until MAYBE her shift ended and she'd be drunk and willing to spend some time outside the bar with me. A losing proposition if I'd ever seen one, but I'll DEFINITELY be back.

After three dancers and four beers, I decided that seeing some other sights was probably in order as the better looking chicas were apparently rather hooked up with ficha plying clientes. Stepping outside the rain had pretty much stopped, so I wasn't geographically limited to what was the closest bar that promised some diversion. I decided to pay a visit to Extasis, a small strip club that I hadn't been to in more than a month due to a rather bizarre last visit which had some drugged out hottie proclaiming her love for me and offering to pay ME to take her to a hotel. What she didn't tell me was there was some 40ish dude in a new car outside waiting to join us and that I would have to buy coke from the waiter to make sure the party was in full glory… But that's another story!

The short waiter gets REAL happy when I walk in and seats me and scurries off to get me some beers. 2x30 pesos (Victoria or Corona). Another chica is in the glass walled shower near the bar putting on a show with the soap.

Pretty soon a chica comes out of the bathroom wearing a grim reaper costume. I look around and notice halloween decorations all over the bar. The grim reaper starts dancing around the bar. She isn't a bad dancer and with the costume on is really funny.

The hot blonde dancer finishes her set, and guess where she comes to plop her skinny little ass and put her clothes back on? Right next to yours truly. Interesting. She starts making small talk. Short waiter drops the ball, though, and comes over immediately and asks me if I wanna buy her a drink. Pay 7 bucks for 10 minutes of conversation? I'm not drunk yet, sorry!

As she leaves the waiter asks me why I haven't come around. 'Busy', I said. "And that CRAZY chick last time was pretty weird.'

The waiter tells me: "She's HERE. She was walking around in a skeleton outfit'! Uh oh!

You can get take outs at the Metehuala for 1350 pesos for 2 hours or so.

I will be in Monterrey in a few weeks and hope to have an opportunity to monger in between business meetings. How much time will I have is to be seen. During this visit I will only be in MTY during mid week.

Carlos I read you suggestions of various places but would appreciate if you could list two or three places that are conveniently located to the Howard Johnson Macroplaza. I will move in taxis (I don't like to worry about parking nor like to waste time finding places).

On pasts visits to MTY, I have been to the high end places such as Colorados, Obssesion, Amnesia, etc. I guess my MTY customers like to show me top shelve. The places are nice (high caliber fruit) but can clean you entertainment budget is a flash.

Since I have about five nights in MTY, I too want someting a litle less expensive but fun (got to strech the buck). I understand you have an map of Monterrey indicating the fun places. Please email it to:

Thing is I like to make sure that anyone coming down here goes to the best places and that includes the not so highend clubs.
We got some good clubs that are half as expensive than the Amnesia and you can have much more fun than at those places.
Of course, there are many travelers that want to have the best and I don't contradict that.
Believe me that all the guys coming down here have not left Monterrey disapointed.
Locals down here tend not to look beyond the "best" to take visitors. As a matter of fact, it is the simple choice.
And thing is that many clubs down here are surrounded by urban legends that paint them as hell holes, like the Matehuala Club, that is seen by every "decent" citizen in Monterrey as a decadent place, full of minors, shootings, killings, of which nothing is the trut and I got witnesses here that can vouch for me.

This downtown bar, was the subject of a post that was initially brought to my attention through discussions on WSG. The contributor indicated that there may be a lot of girls on the prowl there on weekends. I just wanted to do a little recon on this trip in case I wanted to know exactly where it is for future visits.

The name of the place is Zanchios Restaurant and Bar, which is attached to the Calypso restaurant, and down the road and across the street from Maxims and Hotel Royalty. It does have either freeelancers or girls on the prowl that seem to be working it.

It has the same stone wall motiff that the Calypso Restaurant has. It is accessible from the Calypso Restaurant, but Zanchios appears to be operated seperately from the Calypso Restaurant, but it may actually be owned by the same people, I dont really know.

Anyway, I visited on a Thursday night, and it was busy there around 11:00pm. When I first walked in, there was a 40´s looking chica standing at the bar, and man, did she give me the "I'm looking" signals...Obviously, this is a real pickup place. It is probably much busier on the weekend. Of course, I also visited at a strange time, in that the Mexican Revolution is being celebrated from about Thursday through all weekend long, and many people are off work. I dont know what effect that has on the volume of their business but many guys may not be able to escape their families for any extra activities due to many people being off of work, and the family commitments that are required during holiday times, and or due to people taking a long four day weekend.

Anyway, this may not be a bad place to do some looking if your interested in maybe hooking up with a regular girl who is not a professional. As I said, it was not too populated with girls on the hunt during my visit on Thursday, maybe only one or two, but I just have a feeling about this place. It may offer a huge selection during the weekend. If I find more time, I will check it out and make a subsequent report.

Also, just a little side note...I also checked out the Ancira bar (Crown Plaza I think), and it was really dead on Thursday night. If I get some time on the weekend, I will include this bar as part of my recon. Also, I did check out the new strip club called "RENO" and I will generate a seperate report on it. Happy Hunting....

The RENO strip Club has only been open about 2 weeks. I arrived on a Thursday night about 11:30pm. I was greated by a hawker as I walked down the street after checking-out Zanchios Bar (see my other post). The hawker was relatively suttle and not too aggressive, not like what you see in Reynosa or Nuevo Laredo, but he definitely wanted me to visit the club, and offered me a two drinks free card if I would try it out.

I agreed because I had not heard of this bar, and I did not remember seeing any reviews of it in the past. So, I figured I would provide a much needed service, and offer myself as a sacrafice in the name of mongerdom everywhere. So, I was greated at the door by a well dressed security man, who promptly frisked me for weapons, and thanked me for visited as I was quickly patted down.

Once you pass throught the main entry door, you decend a opulent stairway down to the club area, which is really very small. It is probably a little larger, or maybe not, than clubs like TVO or Extasis. But for a club that I would classify as upper crust, it is relatively small.

This club is very plush. The seating is very cushiony and comfortable. The club is similiar in appearance to clubs like Premier, Amnesia, Blue Ibiza, Mitote, and Colorados. There is a very good reason for this...The club is owned by the same people. RENO is a high end club with a high roller price tag.

The cover charge on Thursday night was 100 pesos, but they did give you two free drinks with your cover charge. I know, 100 pesos is high, but I decided to make a donation in the name of all mongers everywhere. I took the plunge because I wanted to make another contribution to the message board on a previously unknown strip club.

When I first sat down I ordered my usual Coke Lite, and I was impressed by the pleasantness of having a small bowl of shelled peanuts on the table to munch on, which I thought was a nice touch, especially since I was kind of hungry. I know, you're probably thinking that the peanuts are kind of pricey with the cost of that cover charge and all, but it was a nice surprise anyway.

So, before the waiter could bring me a drink, a young lady came over to my table and sat on my lap. She had black shoulder length hair, rubby lips, and kind of a round face. She was of a Northern Mexican decent, and she spoke a little English too. She was a nice girl, but not really my type. Some of you may know that I like flaca morenas, and she was not a morena, and she was a little to fat, not too much, but too much for my narrow and particular tastes. But, she did have a very nice personality and she was talkative. I decided that I liked her. She reminded me of an amiga I have over at TVO. The waiter immediately decended upon us and asked if I would buy her a drink, and of course I declined. I explained to her that it was nothing personal, but that I dont buy drinks until I've had a chance to scope things out first. So, the waiter was not pushy, and he went away without any display of disappointment. The girl I was with said she understood, and she just stayed on my lap and we had a nice conversation.

She told me a lot of information that will be incorporated into this report, and she was very nice about answering any questions I may have had. I know she must have thought I sounded like a reporter from PLAYBOY or something, but she volunteered a lot of information, and she did not just dump me after I declined to buy her a drink. So, we sat for a while and talked, and eventually, because of her sincerity in not asking me for a drink or pushing me in any way, I decided she had earned a little money, and I ordered a waiter over and voluntarily bought her a drink.

In retrospect it was a deep financial commitment, because the chica drinks are very high. They are ninety pesos, and the drink is Baileys. It is a creamy drink in a very small glass with very little Baileys. She could have downed it in five seconds. When I looked around, all of the girls were ordering Baileys and it was being served in very small round bottom glasses. Fortunately, my girl nursed hers as slowly as she was physically able to, which enabled her to stay with me long enough to put together this report.

On this night, Thursday, there were a lot of girls working. I guess there were at least 15-20 girls. For the size of this small club, it seemed like there were a lot of girls on staff. Almost all of them were in guys laps, and getting drinks bought for them. But, when I first arrived there were a number of girls just sitting alone on the couches and in chairs because there weren't many guys there, but as the evening progressed, and by the time it was 12 midnight, the place was busy. Most of the customers seemed to be gringos, who I assumed were staying in some of the expensive hotels in the area.

This club is geared toward the gringo customer. I noticed that most of the recorded music that was being played was North American contemporary rock music that was being performed in English not Spanish, which is not common in Monterrey.

My girl told me that the girls are from all over, not just Mexico. She said many of them do know some English, and have worked in clubs in the USA. However, based on what I saw, most of the girls were of lighter complected Mexican decent. One of them was totally gringa and originally from Dallas, Texas. Many of the girls had a more "gringa" appearance than Mexican. This club reminded me more of a club that could have been in downtown Atlanta or somewhere, except the waiters all spoke Spanish. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the other girls, but I assume they spoke Spanish as well. But, my perceptions of this club suggested that they were trying to appeal to the gringo wealthly business traveler, and that they were attempting to copy a more decidedly North American presentation style.

My girl told me that one of the girls was from Argentina, and that others were from more exotic vacation destinations in Mexico like Acapulco, Cancun, etc...

In my opinion, the quality of girls was not as good as Amnesia for example. I would say the quality of girls was between the higher-end places like Poisson and Obsession, and a place like TVO for example.

I asked my girl about the privado arrangement, and she said it was 450 pesos for 4 songs, and no sex. But, she said you could do all the touching and fondling you wanted, just no sexo. I asked my girl if the girls see men outside of their work environment, and she said she would see me, but that it must be very descrete so the management doesn't find out. She gave me her email address and her cell phone number in case I wanted to call her. A waste actually because she just isn't my type.

Well, that´s about it...Bring your wallet!

I have stayed at the Howard Johnson's on several occasions. They are girl friendly as long as you go through the procedure.

As far as a place to hangout, well the live music there at the bar seems like an interesting attraction, but I have never seen anything except couples or hotel guests. It seems to be like a lively watering hole for after work drinks, but again, everybody seems to be meeting some body, like business or something...not a good place to meet somone who isn't on a mission.

Besides Zanchios which I mentioned a long time ago, on weekends I have found a reasonable number of ladies looking at a club called Cicceros which Carlos mentioned a long time ago. However, during the weekdays it seems to be filled with couples or guys and their mistresses..interesting groups of people...it is the place to take a chica that you just want to sit around and listen to live music in a romatic atmosphere. On fridays and saturdays though, it is filled with lots of singles..

The Holiday Inn has live music and it can be kind of interesting; however I have never found anything of pick-up variety there...seemed to be a lot of couples or much more conservative types than what we might be seeking..

There is another little interesting place towards the old district called medio luna or nueva luna or something luna. It is on the corner, pretty popular place. It is worth checking out. Carlos could give you the correct name and location, I am sure.

One thing I have never figured out is the clubs across the way in San Pedro..I don't know if there are any either...maybe those rich types just come across the river to party...what do you think about that thought Carlos?

So much for that. DOesn't sound like Reno is the true monger's place, rather those gringo business and industrial techs who come down to Monterrey a lot from the states.

Clubs at San Pedro are more youngster oriented. Like the old times at the Studio 54 in NYC, only the "nice" crowd gets in.
And yes, Cicceros is more weekend oriented.
The bar at the Barrio Angtiguo is the Luna Nueva but I think it will be hard for a pick up there. Guys and gals go in groups to drink and drink hard and heavy.
And the Reno Club, part por the Amnesia group is a really expensive club where you can only expect a hard on and the girls expect you to give them personal dances.
My friend Unospongebob is getting the hang of Monterrey. Wait till you read his report of what he did in the weekend: 4 out of 4... right Uno???
Like Buster before him, the way to really hit it of with the girls is repeated visits to the clubs till you get familiar with the place and the girls (He is the one that got the first "yes" from Claudia of the Matehuala for a "salida").

Prices are dropping at the massage places in Centro, and especially with the peso in freefall, the bargains are very good right now. Milenio 2000 on Villagran is now only charging 120 pesos for a half hour session in the daytime, down from 170, and the new place at 912 Villagran across from Banorte is also charging 120. That's not much more than 10 bucks to get a covered BJ and straight lay for up to 25 minutes or so.

The tricky things with the massage places is to find a looker worth doing, but if you hit enough of them (and there are dozens listed daily in the afternoon newspaper, the Sol), you're bound to find something you like unless you're really picky. it seems that monterrey has some places that are more local and down to earth. i prefer places where the waiters do not tramp around in tuxedos begging for tips. in puerto vallarta was a suit who actually followed me to the urinal to hassle me for a tip after a private dance. he claimed he took care of my time during the dance. i said "fine, do you think i can [CodeWord134] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord134) first?" he waited at the door as i was zipping up.

if i go to the high end places that cater to tourists and charge u.s. prices, i end up asking myself, "why didn't i stay in the u.s. where i can basically find the same thing, and at the same time save myself hotel and airfare costs?"

Sure Schottt, I think we have just about everything here in Monterrey, all kind of prices, expensive, cheap, fancy and working class clubs.
We have a number of expensive clubs that might fit your description too, expensive as the USA and with waiters that are all over you, but you can safely let them know that you will not tolerate them bothering you.
You also have to take in account that Puerto Vallarta is no where in the league of Monterrey. We are the third largest city in Mexico and PV is just a small beach resort town.
