I disagree - it is not a guess.. but as in all of science, it is an estimate based on a large sample. The link I sent is not the first or only place to mention the high rate of infection in Bombay. Juts do a search and see what you find. Why do you say it is biased?
But as you said, it is up to you to decide what you are willing to risk.

I don't know who to believe. That report from PBS or the actual doctors that I spoke with.
There is a HIGH quality blood testing clinic about a 2 minute walk from Kamatiapura. After getting my test results back from one of the main doctors there, we had a 10 minute discussion about HIV from the hookers in the area. I mentioned this before in a previous post. Though all logic would suggest a 50-60% infection rate, he said that it was under 10% (use my previous post as an accurate number as I"m only going off memory now)
This doesn't seem logical to me and seems VERY low. Yet I'm going by what the doctors on the front line are stating. True, this is only one clinic and they can only go by the samples they get. Also, there is a slim chance that their equipment is off. Yet this was by far the nicest lab I have seen in India.

on the streets of kamathipura, it's no challenge for aronson to find sex workers to talk with. in a small gathering she asks them frankly about the core issues of their trade -- economics and health. the women get the equivalent of us$1.50 for sex, $2 on a good night, less than a dollar on a bad night.
(wait a moment here. i am the master at getting cheap sex. sure, that is 100 rupees. yet 100 rupees is $2.25. ) true, 50% of that goes to the mamasan, but these girls will get a minimum of 8 customers a day. ie, they are making at least $8 per day.
plus, most of the girls don't go to 100, the 100 rs girls work you hard and will make more than this in tips to go bbbj or really, these 100 rs girls won't give any blow job unless they are tipped. thus, on average, i would guess they make about $15 per day. in india, this is pretty damn good money. i have a western lifestyle and for $15 per day, i can have a nice flat in the suburbs and still eat like a pig.)

I live around the sub-urbs, you can check out HOT SPOT near RK studio in chembur, which is 100 percent opened with "activities", besides near chembur naka there are half a dozen bars which have become orchestra oriented joints but the "activity is 100 percent"....the line around chembur colony is all opened...

been reading for a long time and now it's my turn to give back. just a small compilation of my last few experiences.

On NOv 16, the Mumbai high court will render a decision as to the ban on dance bars. It was supposed to be on Oct. 28, but like always there is a delay! I won't be surprised if the verdict will be rendered early next year!?

Thanks to the information passed on by a numbe of fellow mongers, I had a great time during my recent trip. As suggested, I stayed at Singh's. Though it is clean, the fact tha it is next to the railway station makes it somewhat noisy. Contacted several of the pimps hanging around the hotel, and had them send up girls that ranged from a 8 to a 4. It was amazing when it came to quality. But some of the agents had a great selection.
I had on average two per day - all that pent up force! First day, had Riya and another called Kajal. Kajal was young (19) and had flesh in the right places without being fat or plump. While enquiring with a security guy who was outside some old buildings next to Flamingo Tibet, was told by a pimp that the place had been raided, and the girls arrested. Pretty hard to believe when there is such competition and presence at the Juhu beach.

After reading your post - I Visited Manorama yesterday. 1 give Some inputs for the intrest of fellow mongers.
1) Manorama has started operations since last 1 week and operational now.
2) There is no Quarter system here. A peg will cost you Rs 150 and beer - Rs 200.
3) There are about 20-30 girls - most of the old staff retained. Some who have migrated to goa/bangalore/mangalore may return this month. Some of them rate 6/10, . Many of them below 25 yrs.
4) The room rates are the same as before - 350 for Non-ac, 400 for Ac. Rooms are good. Bed clean.
5) Starts at 1700 hrs, Close time 01: 30 am (but better to finish by 00: 00)

The directions are pretty straight, If you driving, drive through the palm beach road and when you reach the belapur cross section , i don't know the sector, you can reach out from the car itself, ask any one they will guide you !!
If you a tourist, in mumbai, take harbour line train from anywere from VT for south mumbai and for western mumbai its vadala railway station.
again only get in the train which takes you to belapur, some train just don't go beyond vashi, so ask around , sit in the right trian and when the station comes, it will be on the right side...
come out of the right side of the station from under the f***g (oooo its sooo boring to write these directions, hey you guyes why don't you just look in the past pages of these forums, in every six months, i have to give directions) ground you will see auto stand, be very very carefullll, do not pay more than 10 rs for nightangle and 15 rs for manorama, its hardly any distance from nightangle to manorama but they charge 15..

It's been ages since I last wrote a report and what happened to me last week was amazing, so i just had to tell you all........
A friend of mine and I went down to the Enigma disco at the Marriott in Juhu.
