Let's start with an answer to the perennial question.

Basically all hotels in SIN are GF as long as you or the gal does not behave in a way that disturbs other guests. Simply walk to the elevator and nod to the staff if they are looking at you. If the gal has a lot of skin exposed it might be better to have her cover up a little most of them have something for this purpose.

If you are staying in a hotel with colleagues you may want to consider hotels with discreet alternative entrances. I am aware of these at Shangri-La, Traders, Orchard Parade and Paramount. Others like Orchard, Hilton and Roxy you have to traverse the lobby to get to the elevators.

The other hot topic about hotels is the way the rates have gone through the roof recently with not many decent places under S$200 and lots of them heading towards S$400.

At a site like wotif.com you can track the prices and they are cheaper on weekends. And I have found that wotif and agoda are having much the same prices as I can get from a travel agent that specialises in in-bound tours.

For now I have settled on Paramount and got to know the staff so at least I can get a room most of the time. The hotel is just OK and the food poor but there are compensations downstairs and nearby.

Would like to hear suggestions for good value for money places - for me preferably in Chinatown/Riverside area or East Coast.

Dear mongers,
Next time you stay at Orchard hotel,Orchard road. They have rooms which have bathrooms with glass partition instead of brick wall. It is great fun when you bring girls to the room. These girls enjoy showing us off in different poses , stick their ass ,pussies and boobs to the glass etc.oh it is great fun. Try yourself. Last time I brought two girls together and it was a great strip show for 30 minutes., under the shower.
We have to stripe our room card in the lift to go up. So you have to go down and collect the girl.

Must admit that I never experienced the glass bath partition. But my take on Orchard Hotel is:

1. Rooms are small

2. Rates have skyrocketed - $250 on weekend and $350 during week.

3. It is too close to OT and gals are too inclined to split and go back for a second helping.

I used to stay in Orchard and Orchard Parade quite a bit until these things started to happen.

Just moved back to Sing. Rents and hotels have gone thru the roof. If you are planning a leisure trip here try to check out any likely clashes with conferences or F1 race dates (scary). The rates at these times are obscene. Mid June rates are more like $500 a night because of some Comm convention. Other times you may want to check Furama Riverside (a misnomer that one), Grand Copthorne Waterfront. These are Havelock Road area. Not that far away from the stuff by taxi. Duxton Hill, OT, Brix (bus if you are desperate). Geylang is farther away. Should get those for under $300 Sing. Others in Havelock Road area are crap. Full of loud obnoxious tour groups. Avoid.

Cheers

I have stayed at Furama City Centre and it was OK but they got up my nose with a $30 per day internet fee. Is Furama Riverside the same?

Anyone tried Berjaya? Would be very convenient if you wanted Pinays.

Sudsoz,

Yes Furama Riverfront is the same regarding internet charges, and like the other hotels in that area (Copthorne Kings, Copthorne Waterfront and others) not as convenient for transport. OK if you are familiar with the buses, but a 10-15 minute walk to Outram Park MRT. As Florida K points out if you are happy to travel by taxi they are fine, but remember sometimes taxis get hard to find. Not far to Mohammed Sultan Road for regular drinking (not P4P).

High internet charges really get my goat. Furama used to have a better system where you could buy a 100 hour ticket valid for 6 months but they changed it to our disadvantage.

I carry a small *directional* wireless antenna which is useful in these situations. In Singapore / HK I can 'find' an internet connection most of the time. For Furama City Centre, if you've a room on the Ministry of Manpower / Havelock Sq. side of the hotel you will look out on to 3 HDB blocks. I've never done this because it would be illegal, but I imagine ;) you'll find an open network or two there.

On the positives Furama City Centre is (for me) superbly located. Hard to beat. Right in the middle of Chinatown for those who don't know. Excellent public transport and great food right on the doorstep. Walking distance to Boat / Clarke Quay. 20-30 minutes to OT by public transport, 10 minutes by taxi.

Plenty P4P of all kinds in Chinatown, especially once your antenna are tuned in. Again being careful what I say, one night when I was too lazy to haul my arse over to OT I dreamt the bell captain at Furama CC summoned an acceptable line-up.

Staying in Chinatown can be an advantage over the Orchard area. Better transport and cheaper and better food. And if you pick up from OT you are not so vulnerable to the 'scuttle back to OT for one more trick' problem.

If you can get a decent rate, and you can live with the internet charges (same in many hotels) Furama City Centre is a good choice.

Furama Riverfront is OK, but less convenient. I like it because one time they really fucked me around and as a result I think I'm now on some sort of complimentary upgrade list.

Of course both are totally GF.

We all get pissed off with high internet charges. My solution is to use one of these:

http://www.edimax.com/en/produce_detail.php?pd_id=7&pl1_id=1&pl2_id=44

With a little experience your chance of hitting a useable signal outside the hotel is substantially increased. You must make your own choice as to whether or not it's a signal you are entitled to use;)

There are other devices you can use for much greater range but they are more conspicuous and might make you appear like some sort of spy. When they notice the device I use on the desk, many girls are suspicious it's a camera.

I also carry a USB extension cable to allow me to position the antenna in the best place, often a window.

Bought mine a few years back fron Challenger in Funan IT mall. You'll strike out on finding a signal sometimes but it's proved *very* useful.

Sometimes it helps to have been fucked around so that you become a name and a face rather than just a number. This is especially true when the hotels hit overload and rooms are hard to get.

Does anybody know whether Park Hotel on Orchard has an alternative entrance to the main lobby. The lobby seems a little small and I may have colleagues around who I'd like to be caught by during the walk of shame. So, any alternatives would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I remember right, no, there is no alternative entrance. If you are really worried, ask the bell captain to assist, your girl will discreetly appear at your door. A small tip to show your appreciation is in order.

The only alternative is the entrance via the restaurant next door (some chain - forgot the name) which is right next to the elevators. Not sure what time it shuts. Otherwise you have to walk the length of the lobby past a bar to get to the elevators. Blair's suggestion to recruit the bellboy is a good one.

I have a choice either Royal plaza on Scotts or Pan Pacific on Claymore (formerly Negara).

I know both are close to Orchard Rd and both seem good hotels, which should i go for? Any reason in particular?

I like te Plaza`s free wi/fi amd mini bar, but i believe the Pan Pac has bigger rooms?

Any comments?

Well the Pan Pacific is closer to OT but if you are looking for overnighters that might not be a good thing.

Any decent hotels in Geylang, up to $350 SGD / night?

I expect to visit in August for a few days, and while I'd like to stay in Geylang I don't want to hear ST couples all night!

Batwings,

Regulars on here get very upset when you ask this question. But yr answer is ALL singapore hotels are GF, I've stayed in a few and never had the slightest problem even though I walk thru with 2 different ones each day.

Let us know how it goes.

The key is to not upset your neighbors. Four Seasons is an upmarket property so I suggest that you get your gal to cover up appropriately.

Goofy, I recently stayed at the above: 20 Lorong 10 is the address I think. I slept well and did not hear doors banging all night: in fact, the hotel was very quiet. I found you had to really fiddle with the key to open the door: not sure if this was just my usual incompetence! On a third party accommodation Internet site, I paid A$53 per night which is excellent value considering the property is about seven minutes' walk from Aljunied MRT station. Geylang is definitely safe and I did not find it noisy, as all I wanted to do was sleep!

Can one book a short-term hotel for a couple of hours, but in advance, over the phone? I understand that one can always go to one and look for a room, but it would be a bummer to be hanging out with a newly acquired honey and to have to go from hotel to hotel. So, I was wondering whether one could book one over the phone. If so, do you have to provide credit card of identification number etc over the phone?

Thanks in advance for clarifications on this.

I stayed in Hotel 81 Palace (Lorong 16 if memory serves) for about SGD70 - they put the short termers on the lower floors and the overnighters on the higher floors ("members floors")... while there were definitely couples on my floor I could hear when walking down the hall, I never heard anyone when in the room. The room was basic but adequate... window faced inner courtyard and had no value as window... kept heavy curtain closed all the trime... But as a center of operation in Geylang it was decent and clean, quiet enough to sleep when I wanted.

WoodmanBro, Swissotel Stamford is fine for gf. It's also right on top of an MRT station on the same line as Orchard which is handy. It has a large lobby so the walk of shame is an issue but the staff are used to it.

i stayed three days in this hotel. i'd read that the standard rooms are only suitable for st sessions (not much room, no wardrobes - only clothes-hooks, and tiny shower cubicle). so for sg$10 extra per night i booked a 'deluxe room' at $90/night. it was fine for a few days - i wouldn't call it deluxe, but it was clean, had enough room to move around, plenty of wardrobe space and a shower cubicle big enough for two (which came in handy ;)).

the service was efficient and friendly. my only peeves were that my room was near the cleaners' storage room, and they made a lot of noise all times of night and day, calling out to each other loudly down the hallway. one time i called reception to ask them to do something about it, and they did. the next time at 6am i stuck my head out the door and told the cleaners in no uncertain terms to be quiet. i'm a grumpy bastard when woken up early in the morning, especially after a late night of horizontal workouts with an exotic girl. it's hard work, and a man needs his rest. ;)

first night the central aircon broke down - making it a hot and steamy bonking session in more ways than one. even after it was repaired the next morning, it still didn't cope the next two days. the room was constantly humid and warm, even switched to 'high'. but what do you expect for $90/night.

location was great for mongering as well as touristy wandering. i walked the alleys out of curiosity, and they were vibrant all hours of the night with literally hundreds and hundreds of wgs of many nationalities crowding the alleys and small side-alleys. lots of outdoor hawker-style eateries where people drank beer and ate local food, and dozens of illegal gambling tables with frantic activities in very dark side alleys.

i was too lazy to get dressed, get in a cab for 10-15 minutes and go to orchard towers in the glitzy city. instead, i hung out in geylang in long-shorts, sandals and t-shirt, and when i felt the urge, i would simply walk out of the hotel lobby, walk around a few minutes and chat to some of the girls, make a selection, and upstairs we would go.

next time i am in singapore (maybe next week), i would happily stay in geylang (very happily!), but probably in another hotel unless they fixed the aircon.

you can get some idea of the room from the 'tash' and 'calcutta girl' photos i posted the past few days (did anyone notice the room? ;)).

here's a couple of photos of the view from my room (view1 and view2). to be honest, i was more interested in view3 and view4.

Piper you are grumpy bastard :)) And I have seen you in the mornings more than once!

But I do agree a man of your advanced years requires a lot more rest given the horizontal jogging exercises you like.

You must have been tired as you forgot the attachments or maybe a sign of your advancing years my friend ;)

piper, sorry to hear about your problems. i have stayed in hotel 81 star several times and never had any air-con problems. i think 81 princess has internet in the rooms and has a good location at the intersection of talma and lorong 12. several times, i was planning to stay in 81 star only 1-2 days and then explore other hotels in the area. unfortunately, i got too lazy to move to a different hotel.

I had a stop over in Singapore and I wanted to experience Gaylang so looked around on Internet and my choice was "Fragrance Hotel - Ruby" This one is located on Lorong 20 and price was 98 per night. I was happy with everything including the aircon, shower, and location. I picked up an indon girl that night, but I went with her to one of the short term hotels (I believe it was 81).

Another interesting part of this short stop was that I got to Singapore about 3:00PM so I got to see the Gaylong in daylight for the first time. A lot different than what it looks/feels at night. There were some FL in the back streets and some sitting at restaurant and I was shocked how bad they looked in day light! I do not recall seeing so many bad looking girls at night :)

In any case, it is an experience totally different than staying at US$250/night in Marriott and I do not mind doing it again.

Be Safe,

Spent a night at Princess Hotel. I'd booked a deluxe room with balcony (usual price 90, plus 10 weekend surcharge). Room was okay but smaller than the deluxe room at Star 81 where I stayed last week. It's the only room with a balcony (8th floor - top floor) and it was interesting standing there watching the happenings in the street below when I first arrived.

But, internet didn't work, so I moved to another deluxe room on 7th floor - no balcony, but bigger room. Just as I settled in there was an almighty fight between a girl and a guy in a nearby room - violent screaming and shouting and smashing of things, which didn't let up for several minutes. I stuck my head out and shouted "Hey!" but the fight continued. Called reception, and they said they had already called police. A few minutes later all was quiet.

Must be just my luck, but the aircon just didn't cool the room enough. Just as warm and humid as at Hotel 81 Star last week. I left the door wide open much of the time as the cool corridor aircon cooled the room a bit.

Overall, okay for a night's stay, and the comfortable bed served its purpose well. ;)

Hi all,

This is my first post in the Singapore forum, have been reading for many years though. I have been living in Malaysia for many years, mongering around the region. Now I will be re-locating to Singapore in August. My question is whether anyone knows about a reasonably priced serviced apartment. I am looking for somewhere to stay for around 1 month, perhaps a studio or similar, until I find a more permanent solution. It does not need to be central, but proximity to MRT would be good.

Thanks in advance and I hope to contribute a bit more on the mongering when I'm in Singapore.

Cheers

Which hotel-chain - Fragrance or Hotel81 - would you recommend to a guy who has to spend one week in SG and will be staying in Geylang?

The room should be clean and should not be too small and the room itself as well as the hotel should provide all basic needs. There should be more than enough dining/breakfast possibilities in or just next to the hotel.

(I have never been in a Frangrance-hotel, so cannot judge about this. Only been in a few small Hotels81 for you know why)

I tried, but they were always fully booked weeks before. At around the same price as the Hotel 81 chain, this means they must be better quality. If they have a deluxe room for a few dollars more, take it - a week in a small basic hotel room is a long time.

Since you've stayed in Geylang before, you already know there are great eateries everywhere, within 30 seconds walk from wherever you stay.

One week in Geylang - you lucky guy. Start taking your vitamins.

I've stayed at both. Hotel 81's (in general) are the better of the 2 chains. maybe not newer but slightly bigger rooms and also beds are better. Fragrance hotels are known for their small rooms and vinyl/plastic covers under the bed sheets for easier clean ups after you know what.

Hi all,

I'll be flying from Seoul to Singapore in about two weeks, and will be staying at the Swissotel Merchant Court. I did a search on this hotel and only four hits came back; I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not. I am wondering if there are any GF motels in the area, as I would prefer not to bring back women to my hotel room, for various reasons. Also, their website says it's only 10 minutes from Orchard Road, but how far is this hotel from Geylang?

Thanks for any info you guys can give me on the Merchant Court. I'll try to reward you guys with some pics in the photo gallery!

If you cant get your trophy into the hotel then go to Geylang by MRT or taxi and rent a room do your business and then go back to the Mum and Dads hotel
Geylang is set up for fast food sex
and MC is more like a 15-20m walk-try MRT-very close to hotel

Lucky Plaza upstairs is a good place to hit

My guess is that a cab to Geylang will be about S$12 and to OT something less than $10. Merchant Court is close to Clarke Quay and the bars at Circular Road.

Merchant Court will certainly be GF as long as you or her are not ostentatious and my recollection is that there are several entrances so a discrete entry should be possible. If not simply tell her to wait 5 mins after you enter and come to your room. Tell the doorman as well so that she is not stopped.

Hi,

I'm in Singapore Thursday night, staying at the Shangri la.

Does anyone know if the place is girl friendly? Or if it needs those damn swipe cards?

With Beijing on lockdown for months already ahead of the Olympics I am in serious need of a change from the girlfriend.

If I get to the lift and a security guard were to stop me i swear i may end up getting locked up :)

First - RTFF especially this thread. Second - run a search for Shangri La and you will get all the info you need.

Never stayed at the shangri la in Singapore but stayed in their hotels in other parts of Asia, and Never had a problem bringing a girl back to the hotel any time of night or day, I just get a smile from the doormen. And a good evening/morning sir.

The Asen confernece is on there ATM, security like you have no idea, unless that is over you might have trouble, waste of money staying at such a high end pad, check out Royal Plaza on scotts, smack bang in the centre of ALL the action.

And spend the savings on a couple of Rusians, now that will make you smile.

Atdrfel. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it's booked on the corporate account, so no real choice in the matter. Although shouldn't complain, being that its a shangri-la and I'm not paying. Hopefully will get through any additional security, someone made a passing mention to a side entrance in an earlier post that may be useful.

At sudsoz, two things, first before you post "Rtff, especially this thread" perhaps you should "Rtff, especially this thread". I looked through all four pages of this thread and not really any useful info on the la. I know often people post long pointless questions and are being lazy, but not in this case

Why did I look through all four pages and not just search you may ask? I am in beijing, and the site is blocked in China, which means, as well as putting up with a distinct lack of mongolians we are all using proxy servers, which make the search function a no go.

The reason I suggested that Taire RTFF is that about a year ago (before we had the hotels thread) there was an extensive discussion on Shangri La including the Brix style gals at the bar and the ways to use different entrances to avoid traversing the lobby.

Any recommendations for this hotel. I'm planning to stay in geylang for 3 days. Please suggest me the best budget hotel in this area. I will be travelling often to the city.

Actually, just reading my reply about this Hotel chain and several others just a few reports below this one will give you an idea of what this place is like.

PTHello,

I've already done RTFF. But could not choose between these two.

Since I'm going to stay for about 5 days. I want it to be comfortable for sleep as well to bring in someone (u know for what)

I don't mind about the location outside, because the whole of geylang will be like that.

I have not stayed at the Geylang one, but I liked the one I stayed in overnight outside of Geylang. They told me they didnt have any rooms when they saw me bring in a Pinay, but the deskman changed his mind and told me to standby for a room which I got a little later.

You can see that they clearly don't like you bringing working girls, but they have not turned me away yet.

81 Star is an ok hotel for Geylang area and has internet in the rooms (you pay extra 20SGD per day). If you dont want internet connection and want to save even more, the hotel across 81 (or other hotels which rent rooms short/long term) has similar types of rooms for half price. There are many such hotels in Geylang. You can stay one night in one of the hotels and check around.

Yes, you were right, the Merchant Court is GF (I guess like all hotels in SIN) and the cab fare from Orchard Tower was about S$9, while going to Geylang was almost S$15. Apparently after 5 pm the cab fares go up for some reason.

Taking the MRT is much cheaper. From the Clark Quay station, if you're going to Geylang, get off at Kallang EW10 station and you are within walking distance from there. Cost was S$1.20. Going to OT, obviously get off at the Orchard NS22 station and walk about a half mile or so on Orchard Road, cost a whopping S$1.

Hope this helps someone.

Gotta say that from the pics the room at MC does not look all that impressive - small single beds and the work desk in the same space as the beds. At Paramount I always get King bed and there is a workdesk and couch etc in a separate area with a partition (but no door).

And why do the architects who decorate these places love glass top tables which make using an optical mouse impossible?

Why not consider Geylang? It is - on a bad day traffic-wise - no more than 20 minutes to Changi.

Beware of "ladies" wandering the streets at night in the vicinity of Chimes, Bras Basah Rd, Bencoolen. Many of them are ladyboys. Besides this, you can get in trouble when caught by (undercover) police.

Unfortunately, my timing is kinda sucky. I found this place and have always wanted to post but never got round to it mostly cos I have little to contribute and didn't want to be a newbie that only asks for info. Didn't realize it's be so long since I registered.

If you want to know about the US, especially TX and NorCal area, I can probably be a lot more helpful.

As the hotel was very well located, nice rooms and good restaurants (you are right El Greco !), and as I will have more time for hunting, I was wonderng if this place was OK

You won't be able to leave your hotel without tripping over them; the Hilton is almost directly opposite OT & lots of girls hang around on the street waiting to meet someone. Any time between 8pm & 5am you will find what you are looking for. I suspect they're also there during the day, but maybe more discreetly.

If you read back through the forum you'll see lots of discussion about rates. It varies; you're unlikely to get a Russian out of Brix for the same price as a Pinay from the basement of OT, and rates can be better outside of the Friday/Saturday peak. ST should be around S$100-150 depending on how desperate each of you is to make the deal. S$200 is probably top end unless she's a goddess. LT is anywhere upwards of S$200 to however much she manages to con you out of. You'll almost certainly have to pay more if you're after a stunner from somewhere like Brix.

I have no personal experience of the Hilton but, as has been said many times before, all hotels are girl friendly in Singapore. I personally don't take back any girl who's too outrageously dressed to avoid embarrassing the hotel. Be aware reception may ask to see & photocopy your girl's passport so make sure she has it with her. They usually do.

Please note all of this information is already on this board; if you haven't read back 15 pages or so I suggest you do so as there's a lot of information there.

I have never had a hotel in Singapore ask to even see a gals ID or passport but I like the idea. In HCMC they keep the ID and call if the gal leaves without you.

As Mondeo has said you will trip over the gals as you leave the Hilton but be aware that many of the stunners on the street are LB's.

At the Hilton I had no problems bringing gals back but the hotel is way down on my list because it has small rooms for the price. It is also very close to OT which makes it harder to get the gals to stay for LT - too much temptation to go back for another john.

Me and my friend came back from OT bringing back to girls picked up at the 1st floor and did not even got a glance from the reception or security.
I confirm prices being 200$ for LT. We had a thai and a vietnamese. They did not have any problem in sharing the room with us (as we shared the room), but there was no interaction (we did not ask for).
OT is a mecca...you get what you want of any kind. Orchard road offers also easy approaches by wg's.

I'm sure we'd agree on many things but not this, I hate the idea. No one's business but my own who I'm with. Being naturally discreet I'd rather the day staff see nice Dr Jekyll, and aren't aware of the skank a steaming Mr Hyde picked up a few hours earlier.

Also, having twice been caught out by Singapore hotel receptionists giving out my room number and date of arrival to non P4P girlfriends, I wouldn't trust reception not to cough for who I was with last night and what time she came and left.

I guess it works in Vietnam but here it's bad idea!

Well I can see your point of view - there are two sides to every coin and I suppose its a question of where you want the balance to be. I am a little older and tend to do allnighters and I sleep better if I know that the gal won't leave without me knowing.

Anyway - here is a story about hotel receptionistes.

A man checks into a hotel on a business trip and was a bit lonely. He got out the local paper and found an ad for a girl calling herself Erogonique, a lovely girl, bending over in the photo. She had all the right curves in all the right places, beautiful long wavy hair, long graceful legs all the way up to her.....you know the kind. So he figures, what the hell, give her a call.

"Hello?" the woman says. God, she sounded sexy.

"Hi, I hear you give a great massage and I'd like you to come to my room and give me one. No, wait, I should be straight with you. I'm in town all alone and what I really want is sex. I want it hard, I want it hot, and I want it now. I'm talking kinky the whole night long. You name it, we'll do it.

Bring implements, toys, everything you've got in your bag of tricks. We'll go hot and heavy all night; Tie me up, wear a strap on, cover me in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, anything you want, baby. Now, how does that sound?"

She says, "That sounds fantastic, but for an outside line you need to press 9."

Mondeoman

I've had it happen once or maybe twice per trip (I stay six weeks at a time) so it's not a regular occurrence & there was the suspicion it may be one particular night manager who was being over zealous. One other poster has reported it happening to him though so it's not just me.

I hate the idea. No one's business but my own who I'm with.
I think the hotel has every right to know who's on it's property so for the safety of not only you but the other guests as well. I don't particularly like going to the front desk to go through the process but you can't argue with their right to ask you to do so.

Being naturally discreet I'd rather the day staff see nice Dr Jekyll, and aren't aware of the skank a steaming Mr Hyde picked up a few hours earlier.
Don't fool yourself; everyone on the staff knows what you get up to, it's just that in Singapore they seem cool with it. At the hotel I use the day staff rotate through the night shift as well so I quickly resigned myself to the fact that the two hot receptionists that I would do in a heartbeat had seen me come in at 1 o'clock with a different girl every night. They may have lost respect for me, I don't know, but they were perfectly friendly with me when I next had to deal with them. The doorman & porters always give me a sly smile when they see me slip out late in the evening; they know where I'm going.

Paramount is my regular stop for several reasons.

1. You get a better room for your money than at Orchard road. They are renovating the place and the plumbing works better in some rooms than others - if you have a problem let them know. Internet charges are high so I negotiate a rate that includes it. They book taxis so it is easier to walk out to East Coast Road and flag one down. You can book on-line at agoda or at YCT hotels.

2. The food at Paramount is crap (even breakfast) but there are lot of choices nearby including brazil barbecue, laksa etc etc. There is also Parkway Parade across the road.

3. The gals from OT think its a long way so they are less inclined to go back.

4. Most times I can get a gal from downstairs to meet me after work. They live in squalid conditions so a little comfort goes a long way. I have also met them for lunch and an afternoon session.

5. Being a regular I often drink with the management downstairs and that has seen me introduced to gals on a different basis with soem fun results.

Hi there,

This will be my first visit to SG and I feel that I am ready to do some damage once there having read the threads with all the juicy details. However, I will be transiting for a few days while on my way to Australia for a year of study and will have quite a bit of stuff with me. It sounds like the hotel rooms in the heart of the action in Geylang are too small to accomodate much more than a suitcase and a juicy young nubile at the same time. I expect to have several bags and such, so it sounds like things would be quite cramped there. I wonder how safe it would be to leave a lot of stuff there during the day while travelling about the city? My friend stayed in SG for about one week several years ago and said he stayed at a guesthouse downtown somewhere that was situated above a restaurant. Does this ring a bell with anyone here? Perhaps you long time residents might know which one he is referring to? Or can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive guesthouse? I was told to stay away from the backpacker ones and the ones in little India. I have done some online searches, but it is always good to rely on and consult with the local expertise. Can anyone help a brother out? Wherever I stay, I plan to indulge in the local fauna on offer.

Thanks a million in advance everyone.

Sounds like my situation about a year ago - the going to Australia for study thing. Anyhow, I actually prefer the hotel rooms in Geylang. They were big enough to accodomate my bags (I packed a lot of shit at the time). The hotels are extremely safe - CCTV everywhere.

No problems leaving your stuff in the room. Singapore's a very safe country in that regard. As far as specific hotels...I don't know that I could recommend one as I live here and don't normally us them...BUT having said that, the short time rooms I've used in Geylang are not huge but should suffice for a few bags and a couple of cuties. However, there's really nothing to do in Geylang except shag. I don't know of a guesthouse here...honestly I've never come across one in all the years I've lived here. When are you coming to SG and how long will you stay?

However, there's really nothing to do in Geylang except shag. I don't know of a guesthouse here...Well, I stayed at Geylang and for me it's the place to stay.

Food and girls and food and girls and food and girls.

I have stayed here a few times over the last 10 years, across the street from OT.

The location is great and at less than 230S$ a night it is cheaper than many hotels noted here. Of course if your work is paying for a better place, its a B class hotel with a great location. There are cheaper options, but they are blocks or even km away.

Possibly a bit sweeter is a SilkAir or Singapore proof of reservation affords a 10% discount.

Thing for me with Singapore is in a humidity environment, even two blocks is a long way to walk with luggage. I am a bit of a lazy bastard, and at times a cheap lazy bastard :P

I have been able to bring two different guests in a night without issue.

Orchard Parade has a lot of incoming PRC tour groups so I gave up on it a few years ago. The other thing is that it is close to OT so the gals are tempted to go back for 'seconds'.

Some good points. I am not a ST guy, but I think I will peruse Geylang. Will be there late tomorrow night if anyone is around and wants to shop.

Bros,

I will be in Singapore for 3 nights this month. I don't have much time so want to be close to the action. I am looking for a pretty good hotel that is near the action which I assume would be Orchard Towers. Which hotel would you recommend in the $150-200 range that is a good hotel that is walking distance to OT or other pick up spots?

Cheers,

You will be hard pressed to find any decent hotel near to OT for under S$200.

I'm gonna be staying at Orchard Hotel on Jan 2nd and 3rd. I very well know that Orchard Hotel is GF, but do they have any Bars inside so that i can pick up ladies. Your valuable suggestions are welcome.

There is a bar of sorts, and you could get lucky, but we aren't talking about anything anybody outside the hotel would head for. A low key Filipina band and a few tourists is my experience. I'd hesitate to say no P4P about anywhere in Singapore, but unless one of the band happens to be short until payday I think you'll find zilch.

There's an Irish pub attached to the hotel, opposite OT, but again not really a P4P venue.

Assuming you're looking for P4P to bring to your room, OT itself is <1 minute walk away. This is far and away your best option. Choose carefully. Early evening (until around 10pm) you can re enter the hotel via the Orchard Hotel Shopping Centre, without walking directly past reception.

If for some reason you're too lazy to walk 50m or absolutely determined not to leave the hotel, you may want to try loitering in the lobby, near the elevators. You'll see plenty Johns heading upstairs with their OT catch, and plenty earlier catches scuttling back to OT to try for another trick. These girls will be open to offers. Just make sure you choose the right targets, and don't get yourself thrown out of the hotel ;)

Blair's advice is quite correct and there are actually quite a few regular bars between Orchard Hotel and OT. From memory there is the Irish Pub and a couple of others as well as Harry's at the rear of OT.

In all of these places you need to behave with some discretion and treat any ladies you meet as regular until something clearly indicates otherwise.

A year or so ago a Brit was thrown into the jug for molesting or worse a regular lady at Harry's.

Good point, I don't know the story but maybe I could have some sympathy with that guy. Harry's (in OT2 for those unfamiliar with the layout) is my favourite OT bar exactly because whilst the clientele is a mix of regular girls, P4P and 'open to the right offer', *you* must make the first move - you won't be hassled, unlike most of the rest of OT. Any P4P girls who break this rule aren't welcome. This is ok if you know the score, but if it's your first time in the city, in transit and you 'assume' it's like all the bars in OT1, it's easy to see how mistakes are made.

On a number of occasions, I've picked a girl in one of the OT1 bars and taken her over to Harry's to get better acquainted and conclude negotiations. If you're not into hardcore P4P, and fancy something like a normal bar it can be a handy respite from the rest of OT.

Thanks for the wealth of information, but when i tried to get into OT the last time i visited Singapore i couldnt get into it since there is a stairway and its impossible for me to climb the stairs. Is there a way to get into OT through some lifts in the basement.

I happen to be traveling in Singapore on busines and I can offer the following info:

Orchard Towers: Mostly average talent here. Ipanema is always packed and the ladies can be aggressive. Mostly filipinas and viet from what I can tell. I did see two black girls. One was cute the other was not. Expect sg150-sg200 for fs.

Brix (baement of the Hyatt on Scotts RD.): Very good looking girls 8+/10 on a Monday night. I can confirm that there are Russian girls here as I saw two eastern european types making googly eyes at every man that passed. They were both top shelf. I didn't ask but from the int'l businessman types and the quality I would assume sg300

Marriot on orchard:

Decent talent in the bar by the elevtors. Expect sg200. I was asked to pay first but I bailed since this is a bad vibe for me.

Enjoy!

Is there a way to get into OT through some lifts in the basement. There are lifts in OT, but due to the 'split-level' nature of the building (like many others in Singapore) you either have to go down a set of stairs into the food court or up a set of stairs to where the elevators begin. I'm pretty certain there's no direct street-level access directly into OT from the front or rear.

That said, there'd almost HAVE to be some straight-through entrance which gets you to the lifts, perhaps from a side like a loading dock area. But this may be closed in the evening during peak punting time.

Not sure of your situation – if you're in a chair or use sticks – but once you got into OT you may still find a lot of the bars are simply too crowded for comfort anyway.

I was trying to think if Brix is the same – I know it's got a long and steep set of stairs for the main entrance, but thought that as it's sorta attached to the Hyatt it might have a lift as well. But can't recall seeing that. Again, there could be something in the side alleyway, that'd need to be sussed out.

If we assume you can't get into either, and similar places are out of bounds for the same reason, your option (apart from an outcall escort to the hotel) would be to grab a chair at the Marriott Lounge or the outdoor cafe across the road from it on Scotts, enjoy the passing parade (or the girls who gra a seat nearby, as many do) and make your pick from there.

I have a feeling you will find a ramp if you check the back entrances - especially the back block on Claymore road and Claymore drive. There are elevators on both buildings and an elevated walkway connecting them. Like RTF I believe that there must be a ramp somewhere.

The place with no stairs is PSC out on East Coast Road.

And don't worry about the crowded bars - there are not so many punters at the moment and most people will make room once they are aware of you.

Currently in Manila but maybe someone could ask the handicapped guy in a wheel chair who sells roses at the front tower near the electrical shop and Bali Bar. He should know and should be around on a Saturday.

I have a feeling that his buddies must carry him up tho.

Cannot for the life of me think how one could get in to the front Tower from the Jasons side. Always stairs in the way. But one could at least get into Legends (I think that's the name) on the Second of floor of the Jasons tower. Some cuties in their but it is one of those places where the lady drinks are extortionate $30.

Hotel is very good. Location is perfect: walking distance to OT. In the basement you find Brix, ideal pick up joint for elegant, classy girls. Girl-friendly, definitively. They provide you with two keys (required to use elevator), even if not asked for.

I've re-checked the forums but can't seem to find any info on "out call or "delivery" to Changi transit.

I could swear a couple years ago, I read a thread about the night desk clerk
assisting in having a girl sent to the room.

Anyone have any current info?

Much appreciation for any help

Hi,

I was on a short holiday to Singapore & stayed at Holiday Inn Park View. On Orachard Road Or rather just off it.

Its a Nice Hotel nice specially with the new re-furbished rooms. Felt like the perfect place to bang someone. On My Day of arrival, I went to the Indian Restaurant Tandor in the Hotel Basement Floor. There I saw 'Park View Health Club'.

I went in & found out that they provided massages. 60 SD for 40 Minutes & 80 SD for 1 Hour.

As I paid & entered inside. I was in for a huge surprise. The health centre had several cozy rooms with attached baths inside & there were excellent girls roaming inside. I as shown my room & asked to 'get ready'.

After a few minutes, a beautful girl (must be around 25) came in & started Dry Massage on my body. She was an excellent Masseaur & after around 20 minutes, she asked if I need Oil Massage. I said Yes. She said. I must remove my underwear. I did Gladly & lied on my back. She started her massage & could see my hard Dick & after 5 minutes asked again. Do you need any other Service?

I said. What al do you provide? She said. BJ / Full Sex! I said Yes to latter & there was great fun for next 10 minutes.

Total Damage. 60 SD for Massage & 100 SD for the Girl (for FS) & 10 SD tip.

Will surely visit Park View Health Club Again.

I could swear a couple years ago, I read a thread about the night desk clerk assisting in having a girl sent to the room.I'm thinking of the same thing; I've got a six hour layover there in a couple weeks and have already booked into the Terminal 3 transit hotel. I don't arrive until after midnight, and while I've made a "Geylang run" on stopovers in the past, I'm not so interested at this time of night.

Given the large number of girls working airside at the airport, I would think finding a semi-pro would be easy, but time consuming. There is also airside massage I believe, so the question is whether they have a full-service available.

Singapore hobbyists might have a clue.

Any comments?I used to stay in both of these hotels through out 2005-6. Pan Pacific was the Negara then.

I thought Negara was better as it's back door entrance was on OT's back doorside (near the KTV lounge). They also have a discrete walk to the lift lobby.

Interestingly I also was able to take the marketing lady in the hotel (forgot her name) out on a date.

Royal Plaza on the other hand is close by, but not close enough to walk back with the girl.

So I guess we both will find out for ourselves.

Geylang is a red light area with controlled brothels as well as street action with pimps and all that goes with it.

Orchard Towers is a series of bars that attract girls because girls attract male customers. In the end you make your own negotiation with the gals for ST or LT arrangements.

Choice is up to you.

If you stay in Singapore and don’t want to spend high prizes for five star hotels I recommend to book Orchard Hotel or Orchard Parade Hotel. You can get a room in these hotels via Internet by Asiarooms or Agoda between 70 and 100 Euros. At a service point at the airport Changi I noticed, that a man booked there a room in Orchard Hotel for 75 Euros. For my opinion the standard in both hotels is very good, but Orchard hotel is even a class better than Orchard Parade Hotel. And it's only a few minute walk from the bars in Hyatt and Mariott. I never had a problem to take a girl in my room, also at late night.

And daytimes your right in the middle of the action and easy to walk to anywhere you like, my advice stay at Royal Plaza on scotts.

I am just back from Singapore and have to agree with Drfel. I chose Royal Plaza and was very impressed. On my last visit I stayed at Orchard Hotel which was ok but the rooms were a bit shabby. RP has great rooms, very big comfy beds and is a good all round hotel (gym, bar, breakfast, service). And as mentioned it has free internet which is not the norm in Singapore so it would seem.

I took the back route out to OT (I had to ask the doorman who showed me the way) and over the pedestrian walkway for the short walk to Brix. No taxi needed.

When entering later in the evening with a friend in tow I took the staircase to the first floor (and the bar) and the lift from there. This avoids the walk past the staff at reception and conciege.

I'll digest the actual events of the trip and post shortly in the main section.

As you say, whilst cheaper than Hyatt, certainly more than one could pay at other places. Having said that, Orchard Hotel was nearly that much and RP was so much better. Also better for location with the exception of access to OT bars.

Besides, if I was trying for the cheapest evening available I'd probably have taken a girl from OT and not Brix anyway!!

I prefer to stay further away from OT if I am taking out out from there. It means that the gals are less inclined to rush back. You also tend to get more hotel for your money away from Orchard Road.

Hi Guys,

Planning my trip, and as a newbie to Singapore trying to figure out the hotel booking, where, when to book etc. I have a few general questions if you guys don't mind helping me.

1. What AREA is best to look for a hotel in? Bugis, Clark Quay, Orchard? Others?

-- I know I don't want to stay on Orchard road given I might hit up OT for a LT'er.

2. Would it be better to book ahead of time and have everything confirmed or to just walk up to a hotel when I arrive and hope I get something. I figure I might get a better rate if I walk in, because if you're booking online chances are those prices are higher? Maybe?

I'm trying to keep the location central for things like OT and Geylang but also for some tourism.

Most important to me is being close to public transportation - the MRT.

Not sure why you don't want to stay on orchard rd. It is a crowded and fun area. My suggestion is to stay at one of the hotels on orchard, me, I'll be at the orchard parade from June 6-20, have stayed at many of the hotels in the area, hyatt, hilton, marriott, and the OP. OP is nice, clean, right near all the action (across from OT), has a gym, laundry, and you can get a breakfast deal also with some bookings. And. Of the hotels on orchard that are nice, it is reasonably priced. Yes, you pay for internet, but that's about all besides the room.

I have stayed away from Orchard (for example near the Quays) and its too boring and quiet (the Copthorn is a "fair" hotel, nothing special).

All the hotels on Orchard I have stayed in (mentioned above) are girl friendly. And at the orchard parade, there is a starbucks in front of it where you can sit and check out the scene ahead of time, and Harry's bar is 1/2 block away, across from OT to watch the goings on. And. The taxi stand is nearby and you can really check things out from Harry's, cause the girls come and go from there often.

Wotif Rates are competitive but often not the best.

For the Royal Plaza hotel, it's worth trying the hotel's own website. www.royalplaza.com.sg

It often has specials. Especially for weekend rates (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights).

For example, I checked that website today as I might be in Singapore in the near future. It had the following rates:

- For check-in on Friday 19 June or Friday 26 June for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday): $168 (plus tax) per night. Or $188 (plus tax) per night including breakfast.

- For various dates in June and July, "7 nights for the price of 6". That was 7 nights at $188 (plus tax) per night. Including breakfast and unlimited broadband internet use.

Wotif Rates are competitive but often not the best.Agreed, and the same goes for LastMinute. Co. Uk and its assorted international offshoots.

You've got nothing to lose by checking the hotel's own Web site or even better, calling the hotel directly – I mean, using Skype or some other VoIP service this'll cost you bugger all but the savings can be substantial.

Several times I've found an appealing rate at LastMinute, but have been able to get it around $50 cheaper AND with breakfast included through the hotel's Web site. (I also prefer to book directly with the hotel rather than an intermediary agency).

Also, here's a tip for those 'mystery hotels' for which LastMinute etc don't list the name, although they list everything else (description of location, hotel, rooms, services, proximity to transport etc). If you take a few select parts of the description and enter them into Google you'll sometimes find that info has been lifted from a site which DOES have the hotel's name – maybe the hotel's own site, or TripAdvisor or such. This can take a few searches to strike it lucky, and it doesn't always work anyway, but if it works you'll be better informed about which hotel is on offer.

GGI've read again and again about how any company from OT might be better inclined to hit back to the Towers. So I thought about avoiding that area.

The place I had in mind, Albert Court - is sort of middle of both areas. I figure if I'm close to the MRT then I'm going to be okay. I can get around to anywhere without any problems.

If I do consider Orchard Road there is a hotel that sparked my interest: Holiday Inn Park View.

I dunno I'm torn, I want to be in the happening area of Singapore, mongering or otherwise, but I don't want it to affect my mongering either!

I tend to use wotif and the other sites for information and then go to the hotel direct as others are saying. But I find wotif useful because it has decent maps.

These days I tend to stay at East coast area (Paramount or Roxy) where you get more hotel for your dollar. At PSC one can often find a friend who wants to join you after work so I only go into OT when I have a real urge.

If you are going to stay in the Orchard area I would suggest that you bite the bullet and get something close by such as Orchard Parade or the Royal Plaza or even Traders. Don't recommend Hilton or Orchard Hotel as the rooms are small.

And when you are negotiating make sure that no money until morning is well understood.

My suggestion is to stay at one of the hotels on orchard, me, I'll be at the orchard parade from June 6-20, have stayed at many of the hotels in the area, hyatt, hilton, marriott, and the OP.I've stayed at many locations around the CBD during my business trips to Singapore, but more often than not along Orchard or down at the Marina Bay end. The times I've been elsewhere, such as the Quays, are a bit of a snooze.

The thing I like about being right near Orchard is that you're so close to everything, day or night. The Marina Bay hotels are quite up-market which is nice, but apart from wandering into the shopping mall you're basically up for a cab ride to get downtown and back. I have no worry about the cost as it's cheap, but late in the evening cabs coming to those hotels can be a little scarce compared to the number of people waiting at the hotel, so I like the option of being able to stroll (or even MRT) to the heart of the action.

Because these are business trips my hotels all tend to be the 5 star set so nothing right down the very OT end (never stayed at the Hyatt or Hilton in Singapore), but I've been happy with all the Orchard Rod/CBD hotels.

I hear what guys are saying about WLs wanting to nip back to OT for a final job, although I thought that'd depend more on what time you grabbed them and how long you booked 'them for. I usually hit Brix around 11pm and have never found one rushing to get back. If I book them for ST then I'd expect they'd head back there or elsewhere (the nightclubs around the Quays are popular alternatives for the younger ones, I hear); if I book them for all night then it's all night.

I guess I'm sold. In the effort to be close to the happening area in Singapore, I found a hotel on Orchard Road.

It seems not to be walking distance to the Towers. But its still along the way. I think I'm happy.

I can't wait to hit Singapore! I've been doing my research.- I hope I'm not disappointed!

I met a friend for a drink at the bar last week. There were no working girls at the bar at this pretty quiet, upscale hotel- doubt if you would connect there.

Geylang is only a 15 minute cab drive away, and is rocking all night. Think I'd avoid the trip into OT as that would be more like 30 minutes, door to door, and the girls might be reluctant to go all the way out to the airport.

Friendly

Has anybody stayed at this new hotel. In particular, does anybody know if there is any P4P in the bars of this hotel. I will be arriving late and flying early next morning and if I can avoid having to head into town, it would be great.

It is just next to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT. I had stayed there in 2007 but was with wifey. Can recall, they have a lift from the basement which avoids the lobby. Also, can recollect that they have cameras in the corridors leading to rooms.

Any comments? Please post

Yes, the Le Meridien does have access from the basement so you don't have to walk through the lobby, but you do have to change lifts, although it's not in full view of the lobby. The lifts are all glass though! I don't know about the cameras.

Mondeoman, Thanks for the reply. Yes, lifts are transparent glass, but who cares as long as you can avoid that gaze and a whisper "excuse me sir".

How is the scene in the bars just below the hotel? I was smoking outside one of the clubs in 2007 and I could see a few WGs coming out for a smoke, did'nt approach them though.

I realize that most hotels in Sing are GF but can anyone confirm any experiences in this hotel? AFI stayed their once for three nights, no drama.

The first night brought back a cutie girl from Brix; the second, had an in-call girl for massage + extras who didn't get the third degree from lobby staff; the final night I called my first-night Brix girl and she also was able to wander in without drama.

If I recall correctly there's some karaoke-disco place next to the hotel, so maybe attractive women in club-style clothes doesn't set off the same alarm bells as it does with some of the upper-class and up-themselves hotels!

The other Furama (City Centre??) is GF so this one will be OK as well.

Just watch out for the internet charges at ~S$25 per day.

Hi was in Singapore in Nov/Dec

In the Larongs saw a lot of South Indian and sri lankan street walkers, but saw no North indian or Pakistani girls. Also in "little india", lots of ally ways with south indian girls but no north indian or pakistani?

Where are they available as there must be Panjabi, Kashmiri, Dehli, Lahore, Kirachi girls some where in Singapore.

Also where do the high class girls hang out.

It looks like next week's trip to Singapore will involve an additional quick jaunt to Shanghai at the tail end (just wish I'd be in Shanghai long enough to get some local tail! ).

But the flight back leaves me with stopover in Singapore on Friday night (getting in around 8pm) before I can catch my connecting flight home (departing SIN around 10am Saturday). Well, I'm sure I can find _something_ to do in Singapore on a Friday night.!

I'm sussing out some hotels on wotif.com, their prices are around S$200 for CBD and Orchard. But I know from experience that sometimes one can score even better deals by directly contacting the hotel.

Can anyone who's recently visiting Singapore advise on this, especially with recommendations for excellent rates they've scored directly from the hotel?

I'm not after some five-star palace but would like a good four star if possible. Good room and bed, aircon that works, and decent location.

If you are brave enough, you can wait till you get to Singapore and then go to "Hotel Reservations Desk" right at the airport. They can give you the cheapest rate on any hotel if that hotel has room available, all the way from SG$45 per night in Geylang to 5 star hotels. I always use them when I am transiting like you. However, there will be some obvious issues with doing it like that; one you may not get the hotel you want, and another, it might be the right price, but far from action.

Be Safe,

Thanks for the pointer. I guess my real question is do the Hyatt and Sheraton have long and busy 'walks of fame' or is it a quick walk from the taxi to the elevator?

So nobody knows if it is g/f?

Asked and answered before -- 99.99% of Singapore hotels are friendly.
If you stay in a 5 star and your GF is dressed properly, there is no walk of shame....no one cares.

FWIW, there's this place call Brix adjacent to the Grand Hyatt....maybe you've heard of it?

And if you're in the club floors, the elevators are adjacent to the lobby; if you're in the other tower wing, it's a long walk to the elevators in the rear of the hotel. But again, nobody, including security will bother you.

I saw a number of good reports concerning Royal Plaza before my last trip, and I decided to give it a go. I made my reservation on their web based system and took a Deluxe king with breakfast and open mini bar.

I arrived mid-afternoon from HKG, and went to check-in. They assigned me my room, and I went upstairs. Unfortunately, the room assigned was a double bed room. I promptly took the lift back down and the problem was fixed straight away.

The king room was spacious and clean. The view was of the parking garage next door. The mini-bar had a diet and regular coke, two tiger beers, a bottle of water, and a bottle of orange juice- about what I expected with a free mini-bar option. I knew it wasn't going to be a loaded mini-bar similar to the Hyatt or Marriott across the street. The bathroom was small with a single tub/shower combination, a small sink area, and of course a cammode.

The breakfast was good. I think they charge around S$30 for it which is over priced. Getting it as part of the room is a bargain. They offered the usual fruits and cereals as well as cooked eggs, breads and jams. The breakfast must be compliant with Islamic law as there were a number of Muslims dinning there.

For the price and star rating, I was expecting a bit more. I would rate it as 3 stars not 4, and I think the Hyatt and Marriott offer significantly more for a tad higher price.

Later this month I'll spend 1 night in Singapore.

At first I was thinking to take a room at some Hotel 81 in Geylang, but reading the forum about the police problems I changed my mind.

My plan for the night would be first checking the situation in Geylang anyway (maybe looking for some PRC legal houses) and/or then going to OT for taking a girl LT.

I'm looking for a cheap hotel and I was thinking about this 2 options:
Hotel 81 Bencoolen (closer to OT) and Fragance Hotel Joo Chiat (closer to Geylang).

What I'm wondering is if maybe the Fragance Hotel is too far from OT to take a girl back there? or there are no problems of this kind? (never been to TO before).
In general, which one of the 2 hotels would be in a more convenient position for my purposes?

Thanks a lot!

I'm planning a last-minute trip to Singapore next week and while checking out hotels, came across some low prices for a few decent hotels at the OT end of town – ISG punters' favourite Royal Plaza on Scotts, which is almost opposite the Hyatt (and thus Brix), and the Orchard Hotel, which is on the corner of Tanglin and Orchard and almost a stone's throw to OT.

The trick is that these are Wotif's mystery 'Wot Hotel?' deals where the name of the hotel isn't given - but of course, a little judicious Googling based on parts of the Wotif description of the 'secret' hotel quickly reveals the same hotel, name and all, in the standard Wotif roster (because Wotif simply copies some of the hotel's description of services into the template for their 'Wot Hotel?' deal).

For instance, 'Wot Hotel' rates for The Orchard Hotel are currently S$185 for weeknights and S$160 for weekends. Royal Plaza on Scotts is S$188 any night.

So if you're looking for a decent hotel at that end of town, then trying the rates for Wotif's 'secret' hotels – and then sussing out which hotels they actually are – should save you some money to put towards your punting fund!

Good information - thanks. The trouble with wotif is that take your card details and charge you for the whole stay up front. THeir information is good and clear.

Often you can get the same deal by going to the hotel direct and negotiating.

I've never tried that for one of the 'secret' hotels though – hmmm, should give that a shot one day - call the hotel, explain how I _know_ the mystery hotel is theirs and try for that better rate!

I'm not keen on paying big dollars for a place to sleep.

I plan on savouring the delights of some of the girls both in OT and Geylang.

Do any of the regulars see any problems with me staying at one of the cheap budget places (Hotel 81 or Fragrance Hotels) right in the heart of the action?

I don't care if there is a line up of working gals in the street as more than likely I will enjoy a few of them, but my main question is security.

Any hotel can be a risk if you are careless with your belongings. General rule would be NEVER leave anything of monetary or personal value where it can be got at.

Many hotels offer secure storage facilities for valuables, you should check with the hotel before booking.

I think Geylang hotels are safe (it's Singapore), but could not imagine spending 5 nights there- rooms are very small, sometimes windowless, poor amenities and it would be noisy with people coming and going.

Best option in Singapore right now for a cheap decent hotel is the Value Hotels- there are 3 clustered around Balestier Rd. Around the same price as a Hotel 81 (S$69-$79- might be more for Grand Prix), but the rooms are bigger and new, with 32" flat panel TVs. The new one on Thompson Rd even has a tiny pool...

If they are all booked up for Grand Prix, and you are going to stay at a Hotel 81 or Fragrance, then I would recommend Fragrance Joo Chiat- slightly nicer rooms, and no short term rentals, so it limits the noisy halls. Still girls in the bars up and down Joo Chiat.

A final option to consider is the new Ibis- they had some good opening specials, and it's on Bencoolen Rd, a great central location. Again because of Grand Prix, prices might be jacked up and availability tight.

Take into account the GP timetables, being a night event: one will not be "home" before 1/1.30 am. So a place quiet in the morning is a must to sleep and relax.
You do not want to sleep in a place where the norning activities make you jumo off bed...

Hi,

I visited Singapore in yr 2005 and stayed at Copthorn Orchid there for about 3-4 days. Visited Orchard Rd joint to pick the girls every evening and enjoyed them in the hotel. Did not face any issues in getting them there. Any idea what's the scene there as planning to visit again in another couple of months.

Also suggest any other hot pick up joints.

Thanks in an anticipation.

A friend of mine stayed in the Orchard Road Hilton back in July and said whenever he brought a girl back between 11pm and 5am that they wanted him to register her as a guest. He ended up avoiding the problem by only bringing girls back before 1pm or after 5am.

Does anyone know if this is still happening? I have stayed there before and I know they did not do this before. I will be in town for the GP, and to me the main reason to stay at the Hilton is for the convenience to OT.

If they want to register her details but not charge any extra then I would regard that as a pretty good thing. But if they want to charge more than I would be voting with my feet.

I have found the rooms at the Hilton to be pretty small and not great value for money. Orchard Hotel not much better!

I think it's the overzealous Security Detail for stores there which close at 11; most hotels in Sing do bother guests.

I saw some freelance Indo hookers on their way up/on their way out when I was waiting for my ride at around 7am and didn't see them sign-out/pickup their ID.

Stayed at Hilton last year.
Me and a friend of mine brought back one girl each at appr 1 or 2am (certainly after 11pm) and there was no question raised by either security or reception. The girls left our room after a couple of hours all by themselves and there was no need to take them down.

I have stayed at the Orchard Hilton many times and never was questioned when bringing back the nights catch......until last time.
I was coming back at about 4:00am and as I was walking through the lobby with my girl, a hotel staff member ran up to me and asked me to register my guest. I simply said this is my friend and none of your business. When he asked me again while we were walking to the elevator, I simply told him no and to beat it and he did.

My advice: Just act like you own it.

I did not have this happen any further during my stay that time.

Cheers to all,

sooo a change in their policy!
Funny enough you hit them back, but how many would?
Taking into account the hotel itself sucks a bit (not up to asian hotels standard) they better be more accomodating.
Hilton S'pore management should be happy OT is just in front of them, so might be that some businessmen on paid expenses choose the hotel, without raising an eyebrow back home, for its position rather than for anything else.
Anyhow, even before knowing of this new policy, I decided to move to Grand Hyatt for the next visit, not for the inhouse supply, 'though.

I have had similar experiences in Bangkok. It seems to me that essentially they are looking to protect you as the guest. But if you wave them off and tell them it is ok they typically will leave you alone.

So the way it works in Bangkok sometimes is that they either take the girls ID card while she is upstairs or they'll take the details from her card. When she's leaving they may call upstairs to see if everything is ok. Once they are satisfied that you are ok they'll let her go on her way. This isn't the case all the time but essentially this is why they want her to be 'registered' even at hotels where they are't trying to charge you a joiner fee.

When my TGF comes to meet me at the room late in the evening, she will get stopped and asked for her ID. Of course she gets really offended by it and I end up going down and getting it back for her. Most of the time they don't bother to ask for ID if I'm bringing a girl with me. If she's freelance then I may actually take her to them and explain to her that she needs to show/give them her ID.

This system will not prevent bad things from happening to you, but can help in the event that something bad does happen.

In Singapore recently on the way to Europe. For the first time I booked into the Orchard Hotel just across from OT.

In the end I took a girl of the steet close to the hotel and took her in at about 1am.

We were stopped and they took a photocopy of her passport and asked her to sign something. She did not seem to mind.

It's a little inconvenient but as others have said, it protects the hotel and the punter.

As convenient as this hotel is it is getting quite tired. If you can get a good internet rate at S$200 (room only) or so then you are basically getting what you pay for in Singapore terms. I would not like to be paying S$280+ for this place although.

Last night me and a friend took one girl each back and no eyebrowse was raised at the front desk hding to the elevators.
Certainly we looked like two european men with their asian nieces!:)))

No sign of WG in the lobby as sometime it happens in some hotels, venthough at around midnight there was 1-2 girls who could possibly be.

That is a pretty fair deal at around S$190. Even better if it is for this week.

The rear block of rooms is pretty tired - so try to get a room in the front section - ask for the Orchard Road view.

A few weeks ago I visited S'pore for the first time so I was not familiar with the city and its many charms. I wasn't the member of ISG until recently so did not realize how valuable is the collective experience of so many fellow punters.

Booked Hilton on Orchard Rd just because the hotel had good reviews on tripadvisor and the rate was reasonable. Since that was before I discovered ISG, I really had no clue about the neighborhood. How naïve you can be, eh?

Arrived very late (after midnight) and did not feel like going to bed so decided to take a walk. I remember thinking "I will just a walk around the block, find a place to have a smoke (without being arrested) and I will be back for a few hours of sleep before my morning meeting". I know it sounds funny considering what's across the street.

Just a few steps out of the hotel got attacked by some old, stoned WG who just grabbed my arm and other body parts and would not let me go. She was desperate and I was disgusted but did not want to hit her so I guess we looked pretty funny wrestling on a sidewalk. Wow! My opinion about Singapore as being nice, clean, orderly place just went down a few notches.

The crowds of scantily dressed girls on the other side of the road attracted my attention but after the trauma of my first encounter with a Singaporean WG, I continued my March. Well, it did not take long for the curiosity to overcome the fear so I crossed the street and after a short walk stood in front of the infamous Orchard Towers! Although, at that time I actually had no clue that I accidentally "discovered" this venerable landmark. Yes, luck is being in the right place at the right time!

I don't like street action but was definitely intrigued so walked around and found a bar (I think it was Harry's but not sure) that seemed like a good place to park, grab a cold Corona and ponder the life mysteries. The bar is in the perfect place to watch the street action since as soon as I sat down at the table outside and had a beer in my hand WGs were suddenly no longer interested.. Ooff, what a relief.

Since the bar was closing and after a third Corona I decided to continue the expedition and explore the building in front of the bar.. Yes, I entered THE TWO TOWERS

The smell, dirty floors and cheesy shops (90% closed at 1:30AM) were not very appealing but I actually managed to go to the top and back down just out of morbid curiosity. Since I still felt like having a beer and explore further, I entered the first bar on the 2nd floor. Or 1st floor for those of you whose ancestors never had guts to cross the big pond.

I don't remember the bar's name (Bongo? ) but it seems like a good place to get another beer. The bar had few customers but there had to be at least 20 young girls "dancing" on the stage and on the actual bar in the middle. However, maybe it was late hour or lack of customers but the bar did not have the atmosphere that I was looking for. But haggling with the barman for change (no way I would pay $100 for a beer even if that's not real dollars! ) between legs of a girl "dancing" on the bar was a bit bizarre.

On the other side of the bar I noticed a doorway with staircase leading down that had signs for toilet but I was intrigued by groups of girls constantly going in and out.. The insatiable curiosity took over again so I had to check it out.

The stairs led to an entrance to a very busy bar that looked like a much better fun than the one upstairs I just left.. I did not know it at the time but. Lo and behold. I discovered IPANEMA! How lucky you can get in a single night?

The girls galore.. All kinds of sizes, shapes, nationalities and languages.. But also a lot of mongers, punters, spectators and just plain drunks also of all kinds and nationalities. It was also obvious that this is the place where white guys with yellow fever gather at this time of the night. The band was actually good and I decided to stick around and see what happens.

I don't know if this was my "fresh-off-the-plane" looks or good looks but I really became a target. One after another WGs of various nationalities were bumping, rubbing and talking to me but I just did not find any of them worth my precious few hours left.

I'm really not that much attracted to Far Eastern type so I politely but firmly defended my space. Then in the corner of my eye I saw this girl talking to this ugly ass white jerk. Actually I only saw his back but since the girl was really good looking I immediately hated the guy. Never saw his face but I am sure that he had "I'm a jerk" written all over.

While fighting off progressively more aggressive Far Eastern delights, I was cursing to myself that I did not see her before the Jerk. But to my astonishment, he just put down his beer and left leaving the girl alone and a bit sad looking.. This is really my lucky night!

So I obviously asked for her help to get rid of attackers she was glad to help. Beautiful smile, sparkling eyes and a very nice rack.. It took me maybe a millisecond to decide. But I know that the game needs to be played so we talked for a while, what's you name, where you are from, a few jokes, etc, etc.. So how much would breakfast in her company cost me.. She said 200 and it could be dollars, pounds, gold coins or whatever. My mind was already made up. However, I gave it the appropriate time to sink in and then asked her if she can show me how to find my hotel. I actually really had no clue in which direction I should go but she took it for a joke which was OK..

No problem getting into Hilton. Nobody even gave me a look so I can confirm that Hilton on Orchard Rd is definitely GF friendly. But it was 2AM so YMMV

The beauty with me told me her real name but her professional name is Katherine so let's stick to it. She said that usually she is working in BaLiBa bar and getting commission from drinks guys buy her and since the business was slow, after the bar closed at 1AM she and her friends decided to cast a net at Ipanema next door. I felt like the luckiest fish!

She was as GF-like as you can imagine.. I have normal tastes so nothing too kinky or weird, just the usual what you would do with a horny GF and she was responsive, sweet and enthusiastic. After a little cuddling she took the initiative and showed her real skills as it was 3AM already and I haven't slept for over 24h. Any girl that can get a second time within one hour in these circumstances deserves the greatest respect and admiration for her craft.

The real shocker was when she told me that she is 36 and has a 7-year old daughter. For me she looked better than 80% of girls in Ipanema and around OT that were probably 10-15 years younger. She is a real woman with sexy curves in the right places and tons of charm. She also told me she is Filipina which, if I had read ISG, I would have guessed myself. Lot's of other personal details which I would not share as you've heard all these stories before but it was great just talking while physically drained and exhausted. She is actually smart and speaks good English which, as I've learned since that time, is not that common combination on this side of the world even among Filipinas (pretty + sexy + smart).

I had to go to my meetings early in the morning but we've made the date for next evening or this evening. Whatever.. I was in some kind of time warp after so many hours without sleep and strenuous activities. My meetings finished at 3PM so I hurried back to the hotel to get a few hours of sleep before the part deux of my adventure.

She met me in the lobby and looked even better than previous time as she was dressed conservatively but sexy at the same time. We went to Clark Quay, took a boat ride, had a dinner in Thai restaurant, talked about everything and nothing and I enjoyed walking with her on Clark Quay as it felt I am with a real GF since she was close to my age and it felt great having a beautiful woman at my arm among all the drunk, semi-drunk and just getting drunk crowds.

Got to the hotel and again, not even a look for the security (Hilton is definitely GF friendly) and had a night of fun which actually was much more enjoyable as I had a few hours of sleep. She again was the perfect GF and it did not really feel like I was with WG since I switched off my right brain.

I have to admit that I was generous the first morning (200++) and really generous the second one (200++++) but she was worth it. It actually impressed me that except the initial "200" at Ipanema she did not talk about money at all and I had to ask remind her to take the envelope I left on the table. I am not that naïve, I know that she is WG but she played the GF part all the way.

We took a taxi to the airport as my flight was early and that was it.

Her visa is expiring on Oct 22 and I will not be able to get to Singapore before that time. We keep in touch via e-mails, she told me a lot of details about her personal life and I got to know her well (I think). She recently quit BaLiBa and now is working at Blowfish bar near Thai embassy. I will look for any opportunity to go to Singapore before Oct 22 but it does not look good so I will probably never see her again.

Oh well, we are worlds apart and I know it would be stupid to do anything about it and things must be as they may. But it was a really lucky night!

JJ,

Very nice report. There are some diamonds out there and it sounds like you had one. Always nice to hear.

The Filipinas are nice and generally their English is OK.

These girls can get a visitors visa fairly easy. That's why there are so many of them. Also, the Philippines is a short and cheap plane ride from Singapore, so if you are in the area, consider heading over there for a break. Never say never.

Once again, nice report.

Cheers to all,

I would like to know if the Hotel Mandarin Oriental is girls friendly.Ah, the Mandarin Oriental, down at the Marina end of town! This is my favourite hotel in Singapore and yes, while it's very upmarket it's 100% girl-friendly (at least to the girls I've brought back from Brix).

Unfortunately there's no discrete entrance so as to avoid the Walk of Shame, which is more like a Parade of the Punter seeing as how the reception desks are positioned to have a full sweeping view of the entrance and the elevator area.

I wouldn't take that for granted, which is which I asked if it was the one on Orchard Road in the main shopping area. There's more than one Mandarin in Singapore. I believe the hotel you are referring to is the Marina Mandarin. I agree, in the past, it's always been girl friendly.

THis seems to be a regular question from newbies who don't RTFF.

Unless a hotel has a publicised "no visitors" policy, I doubt they would be able to stop you bringing girls back to your room. As long as there is a double bed, the room would be approved for two people to use, and you have paid for this.

At most of the larger hotels the reception staff are usually too busy to take much notice of who comes and goes, even if the elevators are in viewing distance. As the staff would be changing regularly, it is unlikely any one receptionist would be aware of who every patrons was, what room they belonged in, and whether they checked in with another person.

Perhaps the security people might have a bit of a snigger as they track your movements on the CCTV, or you have a grope in the elevator, but these guys will really only be interested if you do something illegal - they will have seen it all 1000s of times before.

Don't be shy, go out and enjoy yourself.

This would be near Douby Ghaut MRT, a couple of stops from Orchard, but you would have to go to City Hall and change for the EW line to get to Kallang/Geylang.

Massage lady very cute early 20 came in dress wearing highish shoes chinese said from Malaysia probably PRC so good after hard massage then soft finger tip touch i came spontaneously. Then offered extras not specified a bit late. So I gave her $20 tip.

I checked traveller's views on tripadvisor about this hotel, and it was less than complimentary.. I guess it may be fine for the kind of activity that you have in a mere one hour, but not necessarily for a 2-3 day stay..
As an aside, besides the good advice from ISG mongers, obvioulsy focused on the hobby, it's a good idea to read other "normal" traveller's views for a m ore general assessment. For insatnce, all travellers said the breakfast at the Grand Central was ordinary and very crowded...
Anyway, thanks again for the advice, I still have to assess on Anson Road the Millenium, but i think i will stick to the Ibis, sort of easy access to both OT and Geylang.

I used to stay there quite often but recently the Mercure Roxy has been offering better deals. The hotel is old and the plumbing and electrics are pretty tired but they made an effort to improve the club rooms and they were actually pretty good. You certainly get more room for your buck than on Orchard Road. And the food sux.

Try to get a rate with internet included - their charges can get a but rich.

There is NO ST activity in the hotel but there are possibilities with the gals from the bars downstairs after they finish work. The elevators require a room key so you need to go and meet your date at closing.

... there are possibilities with the gals from the bars downstairs after they finish work...Do you mean the girls who work at the bar - the waitresses etc employed by the hotel?

Or just 'working girls' who hang around the bar, use it as their base between jobs?

Sudsoz, Asian Flavor, thanks for the replies. I'll be in Singapore on business, and they will pay for a good hotel near Suntec during my stay, but I was thinking of flying in a day early on my own dollar and staying at a cheap place with plentiful WGs nearby, but thought Geylang might be too noisy. Older rooms don't bother me much, so I think I may give the Paramount a shot for one night. Will post my review.

Paramount hotel has 'shopping centre' downstairs with bars with filipinas. Commonly known as PSC.

WTF! Grand Central quoting $S190 to my ass over the phone? I thought this was the cheap joint. They heard my english spking ass and jacked the price!
Guys help me out..is this the price here? Im looking for the Russian talent and the health center there to get FS, and room internet.

I'm at Hotel 81 Bencoolen 2nite to just handle basic needs. But i wanted the those other things I mentioned. Is it a high season thing?

Try Agoda or other on-line agents to get a better price. Orchard is pricey...

But internet will cost you more.

Best way to find the Russian girls would be to do a google search for laksaboy and reborn69. S$130/1/45 minutes. Much easier way to find them than to hang out by the pool- they might be working, or have moved onto another hotel- haven't booked one in ~6 months...

Will be interested in hearing about your experiences I'm. Good luck!

The airport desk on arrival is the best place to find one night deals, if you are willing to take the chance for last minute bookings.

Otherwise, Fragrant Joo Chait is a good option for a cheap hotel in an area with a lot of working girls, and since hotels in the area no longer rent rooms by the hour, it shouldn't be too noisy.

Just saw the Santa Grand Hotel Bugis yesterday, and thought it was pretty nice for S$90 a night- tiny pool, better rooms than Frangrant or Hotel 81. Think that Value Hotel is better value, but the Santa Hotel Bugis has a better location.

Give me some heads up and maybe we can meet up for a beer. I'll PM you if I make it out there. Unfortunately the bus plans seems to be falling through at the moment, but I may just stop by for a day or two of vacation before heading to the Philippines anyway.

Hello.

Anyone that knows a hotel slightly better than Fragrance and 81 in/near Geylang? Does not hurt if it has a pool.

I am visiting Singapore this week and will be staying at the Royal Plaza on Scotts on orchard road, opposite the Grand Hyatt. Is the hotel Girl Friendly. I hope to be bringing back some from OT and perhaps Brix at the Grand Hyatt.

All large hotels in Singapore are GF, no exceptions. You will have no problems.

Plus ca change.

Yes, it is. Elevators require keys to go upstairs to your room so you will need to accompany your visitor.

...and that can be either exhilarating or embarassing depending on your own attitute.. Last time, I was stuck in the lift, stopping 5 times, with a few middle to aged tourists couples , bringing up my beautiful young Viet catch
( I am 60+) It was quite an interesting social analysis to try guessing their thoughts: Women: "what a dirty old man" and men: "lucky bastard, I have got to manage a trip back here alone..." I enjoyed it...

LOL, In the elevator just talk to the girl referring to uncle and auntie, how are they etc..maybe she passes as your niece! :) :)

Yep, the same as The Walk of Shame through the lobby. The doorman, busboys and other blokes are all thinking 'Nice one, mate! ' while the girls at behind the front desk give you this cold stare, realising that you're just like all the rest.

It must be tough on the doormen etc, though. They're standing around all night watching an endless stream of blokes swarming into the hotel with hotties on their arms, making straight for the elevators and their rooms!

No problem, usually after midnight not many guests using the elevators.

Had an enjoyable night of pleasure with a sweet young Filipino girl at the Conrad recently. Plenty of amenities for the lady to play with, nice big shower to join each other washing off and very large comfy bed for romping on.

Staff were very descrete at all times.

Taxi to/from Ipanema was reasonable. Do not take the 'fixed cost' offers from the cabbies.

I will be back.

Yes. Just ask - some will and others won't but money usually talks. Expect to pay more and don't forget the tip for the bell boy.

There is a guy who hangs around outside OT who will send girls to your hotel room. He is on the prowl for Indian guys and has Russian girls for S$150.

Park Royal is almost adjacent, though I never found it particularly good value. Like all places it is GF, and there is a HC where you can get HC style action. Haven't visited for a while and I'm not a HC regular, but had one very good girl from there with whom I ended up making a fairly regular private arrangement.

Generally, as long as you're not embarrassing or inconveniencing other guests you'll find Singapore hotel staff tolerant and even helpful regarding our activities. There will be no 'joiners fee' or other nonsense when bringing a girl back to any large hotel and the staff will assist if you have any problems with your companion.

If you're looking for company and are too tired, lazy or pressed for time to take advantage of the many other options available, the Bell Captain and his staff can sometimes be a useful source.

As outright pimping would almost certainly cost the bell staff their jobs, a little discretion is necessary. Obviously they need to realise you are looking. Bell staff have a sixth sense for these things, but maybe you'll need to broach the subject gently, perhaps by asking how long to get to OT or Geylang by taxi, or if there are any pick up spots in the vicinity. Take the conversation in the right direction and they may respond. Even if they don't offer anything directly they may point you in the direction of something interesting. Action can appear anywhere in Singapore, from S$1000+ escort girls to maids who are happy to 'put out' for a cellphone reload so it's important to keep your antenna tuned.

For those inexperienced in these transactions it is important to know what you're getting and not to make a final commitment until you see the girl. Ask all the important details - price, time, service, type of girl (race, age, figure....) and ideally try to get them to supply a line up. If you go this route it isn't uncommon to be offered a car load for you to select from.

The results you get will vary, which is part of the fun. The quality of the hotel, the character of the bell staff and your 'chump factor' will all have an influence, as always, choose carefully.

I've had good results directly from the bell staff at one large hotel in Chinatown. They approached me as I was heading for a late evening stroll. Initially I declined, but on my return, having found nothing of interest in the locality, managed to strike a deal. At that hour no problem to produce a line up on foot adjacent to the hotel with PRC and Malay Chinese. On a second occasion the (Indian) BC, despite my scepticism, produced an Indian girl who performed well. Another option in a city of so many.

After some research, and lot of help fro some fellow members, i have decoded to stay on the Eeast Coast, for a change.

I am now reduced to a shortlist of 2, Grand Mercure Roxy and Paramount.
The later has not so good reviews on "normal " travel sites, Mercure fares better.

Pricewise, I found the best deal to be with Paramount, for 120SG per night. Does not seem to include anything else, while Mercure, at 150 SG, has free airport shutlle.

My questions are: 1)What about Internet charges? I could not find any info on the net.
2) Is it better to try to negociate a price by phone, rather than booking on the net?
3) My booking is for January. Is it ususally common to try booking at the last minute and getting discount?
4) and last: as the hobby is my main reason to be there for the 2 days, which hotel, regardless of other points, should I choose?

Thanks!

At Paramount I have negotiated rates that included internet. The normal on top charge is $25 per day. At Mercure they sometimes have specials that include internet - this time I got a club room at a discounted price and internet is free on the club floor.

Paramount has a bar in the lobby and Mercure has a coffee shop. Mercure has a nice bar on the 4th floor near the pool which is a good place to take a pinay for lunch and prime her up for an afternoon session.
