Thai me up (and anyone else who wants to know) - The baht busses run pretty much on regular routes - down beach; up second; up and down North, Central and South; up and down Buakhao, up and down from the Dolphins to Nakluha; up and over the hill to Jomtien and back; (some on 3rd but not many) Collections of them at Mikes, Big-C, the bus terminal and occasionally at Suk and central or south. If they are going your way, 10B - 20 from bus station to walking street or from Central to Jomtien. Yes, you make stops. Yes, it's cheap
Some of them turn at central - never have figured out how to tell. FOR SURE they run until 2am (I've seen them as late as 4 - but not many and they want double for "late night")

3. GoGo bars. Well, I'd have to say my overall favorite for the value was Silver Star on Soi 8. Consistant selection and not to pricey ST 1k, LT 2k, and the pricing got better as the ladies got friendlier. Also they have this cute little server named Gai. doesn't work, but is so damn cute. If you ever go there tell her Shawn said hi. Across the street from Silver Star is Dreams Beer Bar. Terrible selection, but the boss lady, Keela, is a true gem. Stop in and have a drink, and tell her I said hi. She is a great contact. I got some of the best info.
If you don't care about price then, I would recommend Peppermint, Happy, and Super Baby A Go Go. Depending on what your taste is. If you like light skinned Thai girls then Super Baby is the one to go to. A lot of Japanese men go there just for the light skinned women.
Living Dolls was ok, but inconsistant.
One thing that happened to me, that never happened before. Both my friend and I were propositioned by different girls from the gogo's. I mean these girls said they just wanted to get with us no charge. This was a first, and happened multiple times. We both were able to take advantage and the girls were true to their word. We also had repeat girls for significantly reduced prices.
4. Beer Bars. No specific one stands out. From what I have been told by the locals, your best and safest bet is to go to GoGo's as the ladies their are regularly tested and beer bar girls are not.

I can only give my opinion based on Bangkock experience.
Regarding GoGo Girls:
My experience and observation is that I can't share the heavy complains about GoGo girls earlier published on this board. Even if probably 500 baht/ night (or sometimes up to 1000) pricier then beer bar girls, you are fore sure more health safe (doesn't mean absolutely riskless) combined with a better overall performance. At least my GoGo girls from Soi Cowboy have been great performers and no problem to make the longtime up to the late afternoon. 500 Bahts/ night count up to just about 3000/ week.
But as usual YMMV and its you and your attitute making a great performer out of some girls with a right treatment.
Regarding Vitamin V+C. For friends I bought Aptalis for about 800 Baht and Penegra for 400 baht/ 4 pill pack in Bangkock. Didn't try myself the effect yet, but of course will reserve some for me as you never know when you need them.

Even had the blue hue that I saw for the first time (and only time).

RMWI found her on walking street. I had seen her a couple of times. She will ask for 4k LT, but you can negotiate her down to 2k. We agreed on 2k, and I gave her a 1k tip. Her performance was better than any 3k gogo girl, and since she was Iranian, well not very often you get to taste that flavor! One thing I did like about her, was she used her own money to buy her things. She did not try to milk me for every little purchase.

Some months agi I was told that PAttaya girls were agest- I am 42, grey hair, but decent body and don't smell. I had no problem with BG and GG girls. The AeP (aldo and puk) italian resturant it's located on the trappaya road .This is a very good italian resturant where you can eat spaghetti with vongole and other italian dishes.Prices are low.

Yes, I've seen them before the last time I was there, not only in Lucifers but elsewhere too. They are mostly imported by the Russian mob for business here. I tried talking to one before to talk down price but wont go for less than 3000 ST and 5000LT. I saw her talk to a big white guy (mob pimp) but he was reluctant to lower prices further. So I left and picked up a local instead. Admit, its still cheaper than picking up white meat at home but 3x the cost of a Thai gals and I'm mainly here to do Thais anyway. So its all up to you.

Here for some days, dont think i have many things useful to add.
Coyote Go Go as been by far the best go go in terms of shows, full nude dancing with 8-10 girls dancing in touching distance.
Some full nude in other bar, like champion, no panties rule, in Sharky, Beach club.
On the other hand Roxy gogo with a blue advertising on walking street is a rip off, the worst go go i have ever been, horrible girls (horrible !), and all prices 20% more all other go go.
For girls quality, supergirl, seemed the best. I will see some more !
In bar scene, millions of them, and almost empty, a little bit disturbing, how they are still open i know its low season, but you pass bar and bars and just see the girls alone, shouting you, and sometimes being very annoying trying to drag you.
There is some quality of course, but too many terrible girls and a lot of overweighed and overaged (nannies). And since its hard to stop a minute to observe without being annoyed, bar scene its not easy .
In the beach road, same thing, a lot of terrible women, some cuties, but very few.
In fact the place where i have seen many,many beatiful girls is in the hands of the mongers, who for sure, are working much better than me, but thats my problem.
Overall, of course it has been a satisfying experience, and low season is definitly better, yes i have catched some heavy rain, but its a small price, to have more choices.
I end with a question, massage parlours, in the end of second road there are 3, can annyone recommend one, and what would be reasonable prices, in bangok i know there is a very good thread about it, but in pattaya its not much mentioned, perhaps because its not a great option.

You are right: in Pattaya massage parlours are not a great option. In Bangkok it's completely different: for exemple you can not compare the quality of the girls. In Bangkok you can easily find many stunners while in Pattaya, for the same amount fo money, you can find just average (or below average) girls.
So bettar to stick to beer bar-gogo bar-disco-freelancers options (ant they are many...)!

yes there is a new style lucifers on walking street - the front of it is about 8-10 metres long and open. i avoided it as it was packed...similar to what lucifers gets around 10.30.
i never heard of candy shop as mentioned in thai me up's last report. where is this club?
tony's have opened up a new disco/fitness place which is around the corner from the main tony's disco - although most freelancers still go onto marine at 4am.
harald99 - freelancers from most disco's will want 1000 min for lt. be careful at tony's as there seems to be a lot of ladyboys there...and they aint easy to spot. also be careful walking back to your hotel as more and more ladybodys come out around 2-3am in the morning and the local press have reported lots of attacks from these.
angels seems like a nice new go go on walking street - this is the only new place i'd recommend. angel witch was pretty good also - great shows as usual. what's up go go was ok - good shows but girls are a 4 or 5.

Pete I am a decade older than you and I had good luck at the discos. I did dance some at Marine but none, as I recall, at Tony's or Lucifer's. If you are not a disco type of person one thing you need to be prepared for is the the volume of the music. I didn't stay long on my first trip in a disco because of the super loud music. But hey, 30 years ago I was the guy sitting on the speaker support stand at a Blue Oyster Cult concert. So I recovered and got use to the noise. You will find many FL at all the discos looking for "dates".
Possible suggestions to make it a little easier for the non disco crowd:
The smaller front room at Lucifer's often has some kind of band until midnight. Several times when I was there it was a R&B (old style R&B not hip hop) or some type of classic rock band. The front room at Lucifer's is a fraction of the size of the back room, which is usually dance music/hip hop, but there often is some decent talent in the front.
At Tony's after you walk through the mostly empty front room (a couple of cars on display) you go into another room before you enter the main disco room. In this room there are a number of huge couches and beyond them some bar tables and a pool room to the left. When Tony's gets crowded you will find a decent number of girls in this area. I have picked up a few in this area without ever going into the main disco. If I do go into the main disco area I found Tony's a little easier to navigate (maybe just personal preference). But I do OK at Marine also.
If you go into the main disco areas just be prepared for the noise and dim lighting. You will figure it out after you get use to your surroundings. I usually take the girls I pick up out into the light just to make sure what I am getting :-).

I've found that your first clue is that their English is usually very good.
When they walk, 99% of them actually do so with such an animated strut that they are a cross between drag queens and runway models. They almost overcompensate how feminine they think the surgery has made them.
The adam's apple and a low range voice is also a good clue.

The best way to learn how to spot a Ladyboy is go to Stringfellows on Soi 13/1 (or maybe 13/2)
It's a Katoey Go-Go and you will soon pick up on the differences between the two.

For me Ladyboys in Thailand are easy to figure out. I've seen Thai Ladyboys in in Franfurt Germany in RLD that I commented on how perfect they looked.
I knew they were Ladyboys based on the floor that they worked.
In Thailand the Ladyboys are usually much taller and can be a bit thinner than standard grade Thai girls. Their hands are bigger and their voice almost 100 percent gives them away. One of my favorite clubs in Pattaya was Club Beosche on Soi 16. It has been well reported upon, but I want to add a few details. When you enter the club you face a stage with about 8 girls dancing in various stages of undress from partial to full nudity. The majority are very attractive, in great physical shape and tend toward a or be cups.
All drinks are served from a small bar next to the jacuzzi which is recessed into the floor. The servers have to walk around the tub to pick up the drinks. The j. Show starts around 8pm with one of the three lovely ladies bathing herself giving particular attention to her vagina. The water level itself is only about 3 to 4 inches deep. She is eventually joined by another girl who casually walks through the bar in a robe. A good month would be a total of 23 bar fines. Long term (overnight) costs from 2000 to 3000 baht. A lot of times part of this money goes home to support a parent or child. "When I have money, my mother has money. When I have no money, my mother has no money. " She showed me a picture of her mother on her cell phone. This particular girl has her brother working outside the door of the club, greeting visitors and saying goodby. I was introduced to him and we shook hands upon our leaving the bar. I asked the girl if it wasn't awkward having her brother working at her club. She explained tht he has to work. Also he's outside and she's inside. I think the girls consider their job to be a "service" profession.
The jacuzzi girls earn 15000 salary a month. At one point a j. Girl recognized a male customer and left the tub to playfully sit on his lap, fully nude, humping away. The whole atmosphere is fun, good natured, playful, and comfortable. If you take girl out LT, they stay until 9 or 10 am the next morning. You pay in the morning. When disputes arise between the girls, they go to mammnsan to sort things out. Mammasan is sort of like the house mother. Latest update from yet another monger friend who just left Bkk and in Pattaya now.

Seems due to martial law, Never thought I'd ever say this but, Bkk is close to being a pedestrian friendly city. All major streets in Bkk are virtually empty of traffic. This monger actually said he walked several blocks on Sukumvit during the day around lunch time and saw no more than 30-50 cars pass him in either direction!! Normally, I need to walk on all the car roofs to cross as traffic is wall to wall at that time.
He also saw many soldiers standing around in Bkk, especially near the Grand Palace area and the Democracy Monument, but didnt notice any tanks.
Many stores and offices remain closed (or open with minimal staff). He couldnt believe the 7-11 store near his hotel was closed--he thought nothing short of a nuke going off closes down a 7-11.
Nana and Cowboy area seems close to normal as far as bar openings, but SW activity along Sukumvit at night much slower than usual as streets are more empty in general in Bkk (both foot and car traffic).

My 2nd mongering friend just arrived early today in Patts just as another of my friend left LOS late yesterday/early today depending on how we look at it. So this pretty much confirms what the 1st one said.
He didnt see any troops in Patts and everything looks like it should in Pattaya right now. Its nite time there right now and all bars are open as usual and no curfews.
Also, no announcements by any major Intl airlines of flight changes or cancellations --so seems business as usual for visitors.

I wasn’t planning to go to Thailand this trip. I had a nice Hong Kong Chinese girl lined up for a two week visit to China. I asked the very helpful airport information desk how to get to Pattaya and was informed that there is no direct bus from the airport. I would have to take a taxi to Ek-ka mai (Eastern bus terminus) in Bangkok from where I could catch the bus to Pattaya. The nice lady wrote it down for me in Thai so I could show it to the taxi driver. But that sounded a bit extravagant so I then asked about buses to Ek-ka mai. “Oh yes”, she replied. “Just take bus A3 from outside the airport building”.
The girl at the airport bus desk informed me that the next A3 bus would be in 30 minutes but I couldn’t buy a ticket until the bus arrived. I guess they do that to make sure you get on the right bus. After about 40 minutes bus A3 duly arrived and I bought my ticket for Bhat 100. We arrived at Ek-ka mai at two minutes to five and I saw a sign announcing a departure to Pattaya at five pm. No time to do much research and I bought a ticket for 91 Bhat. Not bad for a 150 km bus trip. Four years ago I went to Pattaya with a girl from Bangkok I’d met on the internet. We got on a nice air conditioned bus and had a direct 2 hour trip to Pattaya. I thought that was the norm but quickly found out that this was not the VIP bus. This was the normal bus for common people who can’t afford the 110 Bhat that the direct bus costs. It was painful, stopping every few kms to pick up and drop passengers. So, I finally arrived in Pattaya at 8.15 pm.
The direct bus goes straight to the bus terminus in Pattaya. I remember from my last trip that it was quite difficult getting a taxi from the bus station to Pattaya beach area cos there’s not much demand and there’s no cruising cabs. That was mid afternoon and I was wondering how easy it would be at night. However, one advantage of the pleb bus was that it stopped in the middle of town. The bus conductress came up to me at an appropriate stop and announced that I had to get off the bus now. No arguments. She got off the bus and retrieved my bag from the storage hold and was waiting to give it to me as I got off the bus.
I was in the middle of town but no sign of any taxis. A couple of friendly motor cycle “taxis” tried very hard to persuade me to use one to go to my hotel but that wasn’t going to work with my large suitcase. After a few minutes I was approached by the driver of a 4 x 4 who said “Taxi?” and offered to take me to the hotel for Bhat 120. A guy I met on the bus said it should cost about 100 Bhat so I countered with this amount which was readily accepted. “Where to?” Well, it was late and I didn’t feel like traipsing around looking for a decent hotel. The taxi driver wasn’t up to making any suggestions so I said either Flipper Lodge or Flipper House, a name I remembered from browsing the ISG hotel thread which said it was in the middle of the action. The taxi decided he would take me to Flipper House and I said fine.
Duly arrived at Flipper House and from the bars we passed on the way, it was clearly in the right place for what I wanted. I said I would just stay for one night and they charged me Bhat 880 for a reasonable room. I guess it’s about 3 stars but clean and comfortable with a reasonable bathroom. So I ended up staying there for the whole 5 days. Flipper House is on Soi 7 near Second Road. Flipper Lodge is on Soi 8 near Beach Road and is probably a better location for anyone who wants to be right on the beach.
The first night I was tired and just had a couple of drinks and a meal while finding out the lay of the land. By night 2 I was ready for action and the China tummy bug had cleared up thanks to the much nicer and healthier food in Thailand. I toured the bars around the hotel but most of the girls were fugly and it was quite late before I found a nice pretty girl (Miss D) in a bar near my hotel and bought her couple of drinks. Bar fine (here and every other bar I asked) was 200 Bhat and D wanted 1000 Bhat for long time. Since Flipper House had been recommended on the hotel thread I assumed it was girl friendly and I wasn’t disappointed. In fact, it’s probably the most girl-friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed at anywhere. The security guard outside retained D’s ID card which she readily surrendered. She’d done that a few times!
I don’t like to fish for a different girl every night but prefer to keep one and have a GFE with her. But D was not going to keep me happy for 4 nights and I allowed her to leave when she announced at 8.00 a.m “I go now”. She offered to spend the next night with me but I decided I could do much better. I strolled down Beach road and had many offers from the Freelancers working the beach. But, most of them were fugly and the really nice ones were only interested in short time. Universal price seems to be 500 Bhat which was the price quoted by each one I asked. Long time was 1000 but I didn’t fancy any of them.
I arrived at Walking Street which is just a continuation of Beach Road. Walking Street is a monger’s paradise. There probably isn’t another place on earth quite like it. Not just Walking Street but all the side streets off it are brimming with bars and go-gos where you can spend many happy hours getting pissed for 70 to 85 Bhat a drink and ogling all the girls you want in various stages of undress, many completely naked. I ended up at a bar in one of the side streets where one very attractive girl, Miss G, caught my eye and smiled at me the way only Thai girls can. I bought G a few drinks and played the usual bar games with her until she invited me to bar fine her for 200 Bhat. We had a meal together and then made our way to the hotel where we had the same routine with the security guard who kept G’s ID.
G was a real GFE and I decided she would be the ideal companion for the rest of the trip. The next morning I invited her to spend the rest of her time with me and she readily agreed. It was only at this point that the question of money came up. She wouldn’t quote me a price and insisted I make her an offer. I decided to be generous and offered her 6000 Bhat for the 3 days and nights which she agreed to provided I paid her bar fine each night. Yes, I know I could have got it for less but she was really sweet and was my constant companion for 72 hours. Money well spent! I informed the hotel that she would be staying with me and registered her with the hotel reception. No extra charge. The receptionist said she would tell security so G didn’t have to surrender her ID each time. We got her ID card back from the security guard and he retrieved it from a stack of about 15 cards in his desk draw! Like I said, Flipper House is real girl friendly!
Sorry, this turned out rather longer than I intended. But maybe some first time visitors to Pattaya will find it helpful.

Duke - as you found - there is the airport bus 100B from Donmuang to ekkamai (daytime, no need to "cab it" - but the bus from Morchit would have actually been faster. You would have needed a cab to get to the Morchit bus terminal, though). IF you ever do it again, take the BLUE and WHITE bus form Ekkamai or Morchit NO ORANGE STRIPE - it's "express" - what that bus did was to leave you off at the main road (Sukhumwit and Klahng intersection more or less - you needed to cross the main road (Suk) and head in the same direction down to "Beach". The "first time" you take the fast bus, you will understand - not the same place- they go to a terminal - look for info on "baht busses" in this thread - it's 10 B - 20 from the "main road") . (Can't say what will be de rigeur after the new airport comes on line, though. I will be asking for any info folks may have because I get in 10/9. Coup plus a new sa-nam bin (airport). Great timing...NOT!!)

I could not even begin to report those details. Because every time I went straight to the upstairs area. If you walk by the stage there are steep stairs, on the left, before you get to the tub. Go up and you can sit right next to the glass bottom stage where usually two or three girls are dancing totally nude. They sometimes do some soap sud shows, etc on the clear floor. The area is fairly small and much less crowded than downstairs. There are a few small tables along the stage and some large couches at either end. Some nights the girls were quite attractive. Other nights not so good and I didn't stay long. But I bought a few lady drinks for girls that finished dancing and were wearing flimsy short, often open, bath robes. Very hit or miss on the talent upstairs and sometimes it was really dead. But I had a very good time on one of the dead nights so I usually stopped by for a while when in the area.

Send an email to any hotel you are interested in and ask if they charge a "Joiner fee" for an unregistered guest, if they do, then they are not guest friendly. Usually only the more up-scale hotels and some of the self-contained resorts that cater to families and well-heeled Thais.

monger , Many 4 star hotel is offering discount because of cancelation of some tour group but most 2 star hotel is full, I was at lucifer disco last night

Alas, I have no reason to alter the pessimistic observations of my report of a week ago. However I would like to expand upon them.
The continuing crackdowns seem to have had a deleterious effect on the quality available on the beach. Of course it was always 'hit or miss', and many fellows tend to look upon the beach as a rogues gallery, but in truth there were, in less oppressive days, a great many gems. Now the rogues stay and tough it out (they really have no choice), while the girls with options - those gems - move on to other venues.
Every day, usually between seven and nine PM, the police or their 'volunteer' henchmen turn out to roust the girls. They sweep the beach promenade usually till about midnight, but on certain days, particularly weekends (when the demand is greater), the sweeps continue until late at night. During these sweeps almost no girl is to be found from Walking Street to the area nearing soi nine with the round benches. Afterwards a few come trickling back, but typically not many.
I was told by the girls that some had left to 'work in bars', or were going to Walking Street, but on several visits to that noisy and unpleasant street at around 2:00-4:00 AM I didn't see any evidence of former Beach Road girls, nor of any really eager providers.
For those of us who visit Pattaya primarily for the Beach Road scene, it seems it is time to move on. Unfortunately, the alternatives are very poor by comparison - Cambodia springs to mind, but the skill level is atrocious. I know of no concentration of bareback three-holers like that on the Beach Road. If anyone does, please share!
In a way I wish I had stopped visiting Pattaya in 2004 or early 2005, as I would have rather remembered it the way it was, rather than as I do now - a scene of grave and depressing injustice not at all unlike my benighted homeland.

I don’t remember the names of any bars I go to. I am just guessing, but I am pretty sure my short term memory function is affected by my massive amounts of beer consumption.
Just get on any BHT bus on 2nd road and head down to Soi 2 & 3. Big C and KFC are right across the street. There are two on the left hand side of the street and one on the right. I just go in and look for a girl I find attractive, they are all pretty much the same.

The ladies are definitely not service orientated as far as I can see, but as they say YMMV.Apparently on the word of one of the ladies,they tend to hang out at Lucifer's Disco closer to 12 AM and after.
I would say be careful of this lot but who knows maybe someone will have better luck or find a gem in the rough. And if you need something not Thai just for a change then go for it but do it while you are sober, with your safety being high priority. Strangely, receptionists at hotels do not ask for ID or passport when you are seen with a farang woman.
Footnote : Peppermint A-gogo, Walking Street, is a very cool place and is always packed, has cute looking girls, that do a total strip, and charge 60 baht for draft beer. Thai women are still friendlier and nicer than the scraggle of hardcore EE women that are definitely only into making some super quick bucks.

Greetings all...yes, this is my first post. I've been skimming tips off the board here for a long time and am compelled at this point to contribute a little something.
Flew in to Suvarnabhumi (pronounced: Suvarnaphoom) on the official opening day (Sept 28). The guys driving the jetways need more training! We sat at the gate for 20 minutes before that damn door opened. Nice looking building, but like every building in Thailand, its already dirty as hell, I can't imagine what the budget for window washing will me (or should be, cause it won't be!). Breezed through Immigrasi and Customs in 10 minutes. I had no checked luggage, this is where the biggest complaints about airport ops are coming from right now. Arrival hall was a freakin zoo! Media, Royalty, military...and contruction workers EVERYWHERE! Its still very much a work in progress, it'll be at least a year before it stops looking like a work-site.
So on all of my previous trips to Bangkok/Pattaya, I never opted for the cheap bus journey, never wanted to deal with slogging over to On Nut or where ever. But I heard rumors of a new transport hub in operation at Suvarnabhumi. See the attached photos for details of what to look for, but here is the general walkthrough:
1. Exit the arrival hall on the baggage claim level and walk to the first curb, look for the big Shuttle Bus placard (see pic). Wait for the free express shuttle to the bus terminal.
2. First shuttle stop will be the Bus Terminal (see pic)
3. Buy ticket to Pattaya at ticket window (see pic), total cost is 106baht. Schedule is a little light at this point (see pic), hopefully it will improve. It works for me perfectly coming out of Singapore on the JetStar Asia connection.
4. Wait for the bus (see pics).
5. This bus does not go to the Pattaya bus terminal, but stops where North Pattaya road intersect Sukhumvit HWY (I think those road names are correct). From there hop a songtheaw or moto and Viola!
My trip time was good, except that traffic was fucked due to construction on the way, it took 3 hours. Normally I think it will be 1.5 to 2 hours. The schedule is very light, but at this same bus term, you can catch another bus to real Bangkok bus terminal where the hourly Pattaya runs depart from.
So there it is, I hope some newbies can get some good use out of this one, easy way to save some baht. I think taxi/limo rates to Pattaya are going to be that same as the old airport (1500-2000baht).
Action is same-same in Pattaya. Good riddance to the nasty beach hags...was never my idea of fun, though it was interesting to sit and watch the circus sometimes. Pattaya is nasty enough without that angle.

Taxis took me: 30 minutes ( To airport at 7:30am) and 40 minutes (to BKK at 9PM) - its about 45Km or BHT200/300 dependent on traffic.
It was messy getting a cab from the Airport, go down to level one, actually got a taxi dropping passengers off at departures - it's going to take a while for things to settle down.

When I went to Pattaya in the past, I always ordered a taxi through my hotel (the Sabai Lodge respectively the Sabai Wing) in Pattaya. They sent it to the Dong Muang airport, and the one way trip from there to the hotel used to be 1350 THB. Recently they had increased to 1500, and for the return trip 1450. Still pretty reasonable for a private car (Nissan or so, in pretty good condition). The prices always include the road toll.
I assume that you can do the same now and order the taxi to the Suvarnabhumi airport. It must defintely not be more expensive as to the old airport, since it is about 1/2 hr less travel time.
In any case, it is cheaper to order a car from Pattaya to pick you up than to hire one at the airport.
If you go then repeatedly to Pattaya, you can ask the driver the first time for his/her phone number, and then you avoid even the hotel surcharge (should be about 10~20%). Last time I did so and asked the driver (a quite decent young lady) for her number and email. If anyone is interested, please PM me. I have not negotiated the price yet, though. But it should not be more than about 1200 I guess.

I just flew in & out in the last 4 days so here is some info on the new airports buses.
Like was said below go outside & get the free shuttle express bus, don't get the regular shuttle, it stops everywhere.
At the bus terminus catch the 552 bus to On Nut costs 35B I think & probably takes about 15 mins more than a taxi. Sky Train (or taxi if it's late)from On Nut. I have no idea when they stop running. Other buses go to Rangsit, Victory Monument & other places it's all very well sign posted & there's lots of helpers around to ask.

After my exhausting 3 days stays in Bangkok and 6 days in Pattaya, my conclusion is that Pattaya is certainly the WINNER.
Price wise, its so much cheaper. Quality wise its not as good as Bangkok on average, but you certainly get to meet plenty of quality chics at the dance parties at Pattaya. 1, 000 baht LT at Pattaya vs 2, 000 baht LT at Bangkok
Excites - its more of a popular joint for the locals.
Tonys - a higher class joint for FL to pick up clients.
Lucifas - Hiphop music thru out the nite with live singers. Better to go there after 12. 30midnight. Its kinda quiet before 12midnight.
Marlene - Kinda of the last resort for me, full of low quality chics. Its a popular hangout for FARANGS.
Stardice - popular joint for ASIANS TOURIST. I won't recommend anyone to go there, abit out of the way, not worth the trip.
Tonys and Lucifas would be the best bet for quality chics. If you are geneous enough to shout chics a drink, its very easy to pick up. Or even at a cheaper price.
My unforgettable experience was barfined a "CASHIER", she is the most beautiful chic I met in Pattaya. Everyone was asking me whether she is my girlfriend because everybody reckons I look like a "Thai" haha. I wish I am a Thai. Haha, anyway I stayed with her for 3 nights.

I have lived in a condo complex in Jomtien for over two years now and thought the readers would like to know a little bit about my friend Walter. I just flew in & out in the last 4 days so here is some info on the new airports buses.
Like was said below go outside & get the free shuttle express bus, don't get the regular shuttle, it stops everywhere.
At the bus terminus catch the 552 bus to On Nut costs 35B I think & probably takes about 15 mins more than a taxi. Sky Train (or taxi if it's late)from On Nut. I have no idea when they stop running. Other buses go to Rangsit, Victory Monument & other places it's all very well sign posted & there's lots of helpers around to ask.

After hearing about the new bar called secrets on Soi14 (walking street area), I wanted to take a look. Well, I like the place, it's a very nice bar, very clean toilets (always a good indication of what the management is doing). The music is not too loud and the lighting is good to have a good view at the girls that are present. They advertise "no hassles" on the door and that's right, i went there and had a look at the girls. Nobody came to ask me for a drink, I even tipped one of the girl dancing on the bar just inches from me.
I would go there to have some relaxed time in an AC and more classy environment than a bar beer. On top of that, they do have some simple standard farang food.

First, Russians can't charge as high a price in their home nation due to competition. Scarcity drives up their value, and the people being targeted by these Russian working women are not you. It's people who wouldn't bother flying to Russia or Eastern Europe.

Ok. Bill. You are right, but my point is do not take the first offer especially from a go go girl. Beer bar, beach road, maybe soi 6 girls are a different story. A direct bus service between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Pattaya has been opened by Transportation Co Ltd, bearing the number 999 and with a one-way ticket priced at 106 baht.
There is now a shuttle bus to take passengers from Pattaya to the new airport, and vice versa.
Transportation Co’s Pramualsak Chandang said the company had obtained the concession from the Ministry of Transportation to operate three routes from the new airport to destinations in Thailand: apart from the Pattaya service there are buses traveling to Rong Kluea Market and to Nong Khai province.
The Pattaya bus terminus is located at the beginning of Soi Chaiyapruk 1, 100 meters away from Jomtien Beach. The officer in charge of the terminus is Chatchawan Charoenwattha.
First-class air-conditioned buses leave here three times per day for Suvarnabhumi Airport, departing at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and departing from the airport for Pattaya at the same time.
Ticket price for a one-way trip is 106 baht per person, with the bus having a capacity of 40 passengers per trip. There are three service officers on board, namely the driver, conductor and hostess. Cold towels and soft drinks are provided, and there is an on-board restroom.
The bus travels a non-stop direct route on the motorway, and takes approximately two hours for the 127-kilometer trip.
Mrs Pinnat Charoenphol, assistant director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Office Region 3, said the service is a good one and appropriately priced. She has, however, asked if service locations can be opened closer to town, as the terminus is quite a distance from the center. She has also queried if three buses per day with a capacity of 40 persons each will be enough for the high season, suggesting that extra buses may be necessary.

Hi, to all guys of the forum! I am been into Pattaya for two weeks and now I am into my room, in my very cold house. Sigh.
I have used the thai airways (600 euro) for to fly from rome to Bangkok. The air was good but the films was all in english language.
I am arrived to Bangkok, during the morning, to the new airport. It was all grey and enormous. I have used 10 minutes for to control the passport and 15 for to take my bag. Outside there were on the first floor a lot of limousine (no good price). On the ground floor there were normal taxis. 1200 bath +60 off toolway.
I am arrived in pattaya near 12 00 o 'clock and I have maked my check-in into the riviera beach hotel (350 bath for one day)in soi post office.
The room was with fan, air condiotionated, tv, showerroom (but I have found 3 beatles during the holiday.).
The position of hotel was good and in 2 minutes I was near to the royal garden plaza. In 20 seconds on the second street. In front of my hotel there was the Pump station.
The satff of hotel wasn't nice as the hotel where I was the last year.
Remember that the hotel close at 2: 00 in the night but you can enter with a key of the ladders.
I think that pattaya is very good for these motives: to eat, to shop and to sleep. The prices are very little respect the european standard. The only thing that I think it's not very good is make sex because the girls are all SHY and have problems for to have sex with the light or for to make oral sex or for to make more than one shoot during the night (MORE good the situation in soi six! ).
I have tried a lot of resturants in pattaya (I like to eat! ). I think that the best resturant is "Trattoria toscana" on the beach road near soi 1(when November will finish the resturant will be closed and re-opened on beach road near the hard rock hotel).

Very good is "Zen" japan resturant inside royal garden plaza (third floor) whrere I haveeat a lot of time.
For shopping I have buyed from an indian tailor 3 suits and 7 shirts. Price 300 euro. I have buyed too 3 shorts pants, 10t-shirts, 1 shoes. Price 100 euro.

But I would add that the Soi 6 bars typically ask for a double barfine for LT if it is afternoon or early in the evening. Late late I wouldn't doubt you can do it for that. Some of the top earners there, like in the beerbars and ago-gos simply don't do LT at all. They make a good living on ST and spend the nights with boyfriend/husband.

This is true for some of the bars on Soi 6, but if you go there in the evening, most girls will charge 700. I've found that the bars on the upper part of the road (towards 2nd road) will charge 500 all day and night, but the ones in the middle and down towards beach road will charge 700 in the evening. There's even one bar, Kiss bar or something, it looks like a go-go inside, that charges 500 baht for the barfine. However, when I went back a few weeks ago, it was down to 300 baht. Maybe it just depends on the lady?

The cost was 500 BHT each and 300 BHT bar fine each. I took out my face but did not take out the shit eating grin on my face. It’s hard to tell I was having a good time.

Well, to put things in perspective.
Bkk is a much larger place so have more quantity to choose from in all venues.
MPs, bars, go-gos, beergartens, resturants, hotel lobby/bars, parking lots etc etc.
But action is much more spread out as the city is large.
Pattaya is not that big so all action concentrated in smaller area.
From my experience, Bkk have much better lookers as alot of them (very nice ones)even move to Bkk as they can command higher prices. So chances of finding real lookers was always easier for me in BKK.
Pattaya also good but not as many "model" lookers here but place is smaller so dont need to travel much and prices also cheaper.
So to each their own.---IMO

I would recommend to avoid Top girls a gogo, only agogo bar in a small soi of Walking street, maybe soi 14 or around. Beer is 130 B, the most espensive I have seen (and they don't even bother to serve it in the usual thermic box), + no good lookers, boring dance where the chubby girls don't rotate and ''dance'' at the same place for 30 minutes, followed by very classcial and unsinspired banana-pingpong shows. Suthisan area is on the subway system going towards Chatuchak Park. The gogos there are totally Thai, the girls more to Thai tastes and few if any speak English. It is Farang-friendly, but some girls may be reluctant to go with a Farang because they might be scared. It's about the same cost as Nana. It really helps to speak Thai around there.
Pattanakarn runs off Ramkhamhaeng Rd., all the way out to Srinakarin Rd. Sukhumvit soi 71 ( take a taxi from Prakhanong BTS) turns into Ramkhamhaeng after it crosses Rama 9. Pattanakarn is not that far from the soi 71-Rama 9 junction. But, again, you really should speak some Thai going out there. Enough local Farang go there for the girls to at least not be totally surprised at seeing Farang. The girls are generally friendly to Farang. Depending on the place, some Thai guys may not like you being there. But, they won't be overly hostile. This area is all karoakes, Thai-style cocktail lounges and massage places. There are loads of other places in and around Ramkhamhaeng Rd., Sukabiban 1-3 and the whole Bangkapi area. But, the locations are too difficult to explain. I used to live and work out there and it was great to have local talent when I was too lazy or didn't have the time to go downtown. But, the only reason to go out there is for something different because the girls are not the same to what you'll encounter in the Farang areas. But, they aren't any cheaper, except in certain small beer bar areas further out.

I swear to god, I have never found a travel agent yet that has ever given me a great deal on anything. I spent or should say, I wasted 15 minutes of my time yesterday talking to one on the telephone. She kept trying to push a tour on me and after telling her 3 times that I was not married and wasn't interested in a tour or a wife for that matter, her reply to me was that it would be cheaper if I was traveling with someone because I would now have to pay a single suppliment fee. Finally I just hung up on her and figured I would hit this weeks Travel Section of Sunday's Boston Globe. Lastly though, be sure to try Travelocity's Asian affiliate Zuji.com for international flexible searches listed in US dollars.This site has been great for showing me some great fares from east coast cities. I was in Pattaya and Bangkok last year and I remember that there is a certain year or two of production that the banks and exchange booths wont change. Does any one here have that info. I am going in less than two weeks for as long as I can. I want to make sure that I dont take the bills that are not accepted. Here's an update on Eden Pattaya, based on a conversation I had last night in BKK with Marc (edenpappa):
The Pattaya club will open the first week in December, but the exact date hasn't yet been set. The club will have a total of 12 rooms for in-house sessions (four larger ones for multi-multi lady sessions and eight smaller ones for the standard one-guy, two-lady sessions). The pricing and policies will be identical in BKK and PTY. In the beginning, the Pattaya club will have 24 ladies on staff, with four or five coming from BKK to help with the training of the Pattaya hires. After that, ladies will be rotated between Pattaya and Bangkok.
As Marc has said himself in the Eden menu, the club isn't for everyone. It features a "classic" line-up and there's no interaction with the ladies before making your choice, so if you enjoy hunting in the gogos or FL bars, Eden may not be for you. But if you're a fan of multi-lady sessions, Eden can't be beat. There's no other establishment in the world that can equal Eden in terms of the excellence of the service.

I got rt Detroit to Bkk for $780 a couple years ago on United/American and even got an upgrade to Bus. class on the way home. Just look in a Chinese language newspaper and there's usually ads in English for travel agents.

FuschI stayed at the sawadee seaview new wing last year on soi 10. Was nice because it was right in the middle of the city and no joiner fees and quiet. I also had a lot of electronics and never had a problem with theft at all. Matter of fact I left a tip on the bed for the maid and she left a note that I should be more carefull about leaving money laying around and put it on the t.v. The hotel is nothing special but the desk was helpfull and went above and beyond for me.

There is a sign in the window that says: "US $50 and $100 bills with the year 1990, 1993 and 1996 can not be exchanged".
FWIW, even though you probably didn't want to know :-). I bring two debt cards. I get a good rate and one card doesn't get charged any fees. The other card gets charged a 1% exchange fee.

I really don't want to go just to find out there is nothing there, as I really don't like the other aspects of Pattaya. I walked the beach side of Beach Road tonight from Soi 3 to Walking Street but it was late (1:30-2:30 AM). There was almost nothing down to about Soi 6 or 8. A few girls and a couple were standing on the other side of Beach Road. It picked up from Soi 8 and again some girls on the other side of the road sitting on steps of closed buildings or in darker areas. Interestingly there were several sitting across from the police station at Soi 9. There was one very good looking one that I foolishly passed up then came back later and she was gone. There is some action there and I saw some decent looking girls at that late hour. But it's not what it use to be. There were police on motor bikes but mostly congregated a little farther south. One would drive up and down the side walk on occasion.
If I get a chance I will try and check out the afternoon and early evening.

use a baht bus 10bht a journey normally get the ones that are travelling down the road but some of them will park up and wait and then try and charge you as a taxi rate
You have to turn right at the end of Walking Street, walk by all the parked Baht Busses, go up to 2d road and flag down a moving BB heading north on 2d Road
If you get in one of the parked BBs you will definitely be nailed with the full taxi rate
Best not to argue with these BB drivers, they are all armed and much tougher and quicker than you will ever be anyway

fer sure there are only 2 ways to go BKK-Pattaya at midnite - get picked up by someone waiting for you -or- cab. Otherwise, you can't get there unless you wait until 5am (if you are IN the city - first bus leaves from Ekkamai) You can take the airport bus to Ekkamai at 630am and then take the Blue/white to Pattaya at 7am (total cost about 270B for the 2 rides), or you can wait until 9am and take the airport bus (from the airport bus terminal) direct to Pattaya (150B).
No other options. Find another person (or 2) and share a cab. Tolls will be 40B on the toll road, transport will be in the 1200B range. it helps if you know where you are going (hotel) too.

I take it that you are arriving in BKK at midnite, so from the airport you can only go by a taxi or limo, unless you want to rent a car. Travel to Pattaya is not a high demand item at midnite from the airport.

Athough I was going into BKK, I asked how much to Pattaya and several said 2,000 baht. As suggested if you can team up with someone else then the price is more reasonable.

Baht busses that are parked need to be negotiated with first. If not they will charge you alot. If they're moving and they honk their horn, flag'em and get in. When you see where you want to get off, hit the buzzer on the ceiling. Get off and give the driver 10 baht. That's it.
Soi 6 is great at 4PM. 800B will get you ST in one of their rooms.

In soi 6 the BF for ST is usually 250-300 B while for LT it’s normally 500-600 B, so if you take the girl out for ST (1-2 hrs) make sure you pay the ST BF.
Actually, a soi 6 ST costs the same regardless of whether it is in house or take out, as the room cost is usually exactly the same as the ST BF, and the girl rate obviously doesn’t change either.
When it does become cheaper using their rooms is when you take more than 1 girl as you pay the room only once, whilst with a take-out you’d have to pay each girl’s BF.

From the airport terminal, take a shuttle bus to the coach station. Beware, there are the 'normal' service, mainly for airport staff, that drives all over the place, cargo, catering warehouse, etc, and the 'express' service for passengers. The coach journey takes 1 and 1/2, 150 B. There are fewer bus than from Ekkamai.
On the way back, the last coach from Pattaya bus station leaves at 19h00. This is a bit too early for all the long haul flights of the night, but customers are not that many, so they need our business, so they can increase the frequency.

If the first option is not available or there is too much wait time, then you ca and catch the 552 bus, the cost is 35 Bhat or close to that, to the On Nut BTS station. Then take the BTS to the Ekamai station and walk to the Bus Station, a short distance away, and catch a bus to Pattaya which cost 120 Bhat. Depending on demand, the busses seem to run every 20 minutes or half hour and the last bus leave near 11: 30 pm. The last 552 bus I think leaves at 9 pm but I think that might be last direct to Pattaya.
All this works well in the daytime and early evening.

Just a quick update: The blackshirts are to be seen starting at about ten PM and often staying out all night, harrassing the girls. Those without IDs are jailed, those with are fined 200 baht. Tonight I saw these 'police' forces proudly videotaping their own human rights abuses.
Nevertheless I can report that there are still girls to be had during the day and early evening, and extremely late at night into the dawn. Of course the selection and numbers are down a bit, but not disasterously - testimony perhaps to the power of the massive Demand for such services in Pattaya. There are perhaps about 1/3 of the number one used to see on the beach, and there are still a few good looking ones, though fewer than before. Still overall a better option than the rip-off bars.
The Thais will have to adopt US-style Police State tactics of months to years long jail terms for prostitutes and perhaps johns in order to eliminate this trade.

I've had a bit more time to observe now and I would say that the numbers are really down to around 10% of the glory days. Quality is quite bad as well. I checked also inside and just in front of the Royal Garden, and there are no girls working inside. A few can sometimes be found during Police Patrol hours (10PM-5AM) on the opposite side of the Beach Road, but very few.
It is now a hit-or-miss situation, and one definitely cannot rely upon being able to go down and find a girl any time one wants. Not unlike looking for streetwalkers in my own country - back home one often drives for hours to find one third rate girl.
The net effect of this new policing is that Pattaya really is well and truly shut down after about 2:30 or 3:00 - if you haven't found something, your options are really limited. This is too bad as the late night hours are by far the most pleasant in the tropics.
For other Beach Road connoisseurs who might be considering a return to Pattaya from the homelands - I would advise against it. I believe we may have reached the tipping point, and some other country might be preferable. Of course there is nothing on the face of the earth like Pattaya Beach road of just a year or two ago. A moment of silence, please, brothers, for another little bit of our freedom just died.

For those who have been frequenters of Pattaya over the years. The taxi situation is still the same from the new airport.
Just came back to Bangkok on Nov. 12th.
Walked out of customs (where, just like the old airport, you had the nicely dressed people quoting 2000 Bht to go to Pattaya), took the elevator downstairs, stepped out the doors, and there was a make shift Taxi Cue (Taxi Stand - at the time it was portable table with the word Taxi on a piece of cardboard) just at the old airport.
Walk up to the stand tell the people you're going to Pattaya. They write up a slip and call the next long haul taxi in line for you. They quoted me 1300 Bht, fairs included. That's 200 Bht less than the old airport.

arrived about 24 hours ago and have a few things to report.
shared a taxi with two bay area gents that i met on the flight and we paid 1600 for a taxi to my hotel on soi 8, the sunshine hotel. 1250 a night with breakfast two pools and in the middle of the action. which describes the whole area actually. clean, comfortable and more than adequate. along the lines of a dyanasty inn. arrived by 3pm.
went of immediately to the soapies. it's the second massage place on the left with a fish bowl on second st across from the see shopping center.
love the idea of sitting down to a beer and picking out a woman from perhaps 40. the next hour certainly took the edge off of the long flight. lovely, petite woman who took an hour massaging with her body and soap finishing me off with that great squat position that works so well for me. she wasnt very oral so i'm pretty sure i won't use the phone number she gave me.

2) for guys here, i've been looking for nonsexual theraputic massage everywhere all my adult life. i spend about 75$ including tip for an hour back in the states but only once a month. harmony massage on pattaya st between beach and 2nd may be the best i've ever found. i've been there 10 times the past two trips and all the therapists i've had are top notch, intuitive and take the aches and pains away. just spent 2 and 1/2 hours and 940 baht including tips for 1 1/2 hour total body oil massage, half hour foot massage and a half hour facial. anyway, if you got this far, thanks for reading. its kind of theraputic only just realizing how much i've done so far. i have another 3 days here if someone wants to hook up for dinner or drink. just drop a line. i'm off to cambodia and vietnam for a month before returning here.

Stops only along Suk hwy in ptya (intersections of north,central & south rds then jonetiem). First timerd beware-toyota taxi drivers ready to rip you off - 100b to hotel, walk across road and flag down one in passing 10b! to 2nd or beach road, should put you in close proximity to most hotel.
10/22/06 – 11/6/06: A standard BKK taxi driver agreed to take me from my Sukhumvit Soi 33 hotel directly to Pattaya for 1200b, (including tolls), to which I added a 100b tip. (The return trip by standard taxi from my Pattaya hotel to BKK airport cost me 800b + 100b tip, and is easily arranged by visiting any one of the dozens of transportation/taxi stands around Pattaya advertising the 800b fare) During the approximately 2 ½ hour 140km journey, I expected to witness an idyllic countryside of jungle vegetation, mountains, terraced rice patties, and Thai farmers toiling diligently in the midday sun. Alas, the entire route consisted of a drab boring commercial/industrial corridor of shops, offices, stores, gas stations, small factories, and other businesses of all kinds – nary a peasant, elephant, tiger, nor water buffalo anywhere to be seen. (So much for that newbie falang stereotype)
The Pattaya/Nakkula/Jomtien district was much larger and busier than I had anticipated. There are thousands of small 1-2 story shops, stores, markets, malls, pharmacies, dingy hotels, apartments, massage parlors, laundries, restaurants, beer bars, etc., all packed closely together lining the major roads, streets, and side Sois, block after block for what seems like miles in all directions. The heavy traffic consisting of cars, trucks, baht busses, and motor bikes is maddening, as there are very few stop signs or signals for the benefit of pedestrians. An unwary falang could easily get himself flattened in this environment. I suppose it is quite understandable why OTH and several other seniors on this board have described the place variously as a pit, sewer, stinking cesspool, or some such, since a sophisticated city it is certainly not, however, I must say that the town did start to grow on me after a few days of sampling the many delights it has to offer – especially the ultra cheap prices for everything, and the hundreds of sweet, young, pretty, willing, and eager feminine companions to be found everywhere.
Bluntly speaking -- if a guy (such as myself, and I imagine 90% of visitors to this board) has come to LOS for inexpensive wild and wanton sex, then this resort town is definitely the place to be. Within three short days, I was seriously suffering from sexual sensory overload and in dire need of a long rest. (Happily, as it happened, though, just one day of rest sufficed) So many lovely girls – so little time. It is truly paradise on earth. More than once I thought I had died and gone to heaven. But before I describe my prolific carnal adventures (and misadventures) of Pattaya, let me inform some of you prospective newbie’s of the prevalent availability and prices for ordinary goods and services around the town, so that you will know exactly what to expect in that regard when you land:
First, I was somewhat disappointed to discover that much of the information I relied upon from reading these threads proved untrue. Several posts, for example, advised that the best pharmacies for vitamin V and other common recreational meds are the well known chains such as Boots, Watson, and Topps. Not so. When I asked for any of the common male enhancement drugs, whether by name or generic, at all of these drug stores, the clerk/pharmacist, (usually a youngish woman), would only shake her head, smile knowingly, and then snicker smugly at my question. “No have,” they all giggled, much to my embarrassment and dismay. The price for 14 generic Prylosec tablets at Topps, for example, was 1000b, and “worth every penny of that,” a friend I was with declared, yet I later found another acceptable generic substitute (14 capsules) at a small hole in the wall pharmacy for 100b – fully 10x less. It clearly pays to shop around in Pattaya. This same little pharmacy, located on South Pattaya Rd., just ½ a block west of the Beach Rd. entrance to Walking Street, was also selling 4 tablet packs of generic Viagra (Kamagra) for 300b. (BTW – these little blue diamonds worked absolutely great every time!) The big chain stores are a rip-off IMHO.
A delicious first night dinner of sea bass with white wine, was enjoyed outside in the breezy and balmy night air on a veranda by the ocean at the Sea Zone seafood restaurant, a Walking Street tourist trap (my apologies to OTH – I did it again) was 500b ($13 USD) plus tip. A typical meal at most other common restaurants: 100-300b ($2.70-$8.00 USD); Thai lunch for 3 people from typical street stall vendor: 100b ($2.70 USD); Typical Baht Bus fares to anywhere along Beach, 2nd and 3rd roads: 10b ($0.27 USD); from Pattaya to Nakkula or Jomtien: 20b ($0.54 USD); taxi fares to a fixed destination: 100b ($2.70 USD) Pair of sandals from Beach Rd. storefront stall: 199b ($5.38 USD); knockoff Adidis golf shirts at Mike’s shopping mall: 150-200b ($4.00-$5.40 USD); quality pairs of knockoff shorts: 300-400b ($8.00-$10.81 USD); 3 100% cotton tropical shirts from Soi 7 Indian tailor shop: 400b ($10.81 USD) Polaroid photo of you and your new girlfriend taken by Walking Street photographer: 100b ($2.70 USD); One weeks worth of laundry consisting of 8 pr. Of under pants, 3 pr. of socks, 8 T-shirts, and 1 pr. of shorts: 132b ($3.57 USD) at small storefront laundry service.

I checked in to the Resident Garden Hotel for my first week of two, having booked in advance on the internet Pattaya Pages FLB bar discount: 1399b/night for a very nice two room suite w/ balcony overlooking the pool. That’s less than $38 USD/night for a living room, separate bedroom, and large bathroom suite in a clean newer hotel, which I thought was a bargain. The following week I stayed in a clean decent standard room at the BJ Holiday Lodge on soi 3, near the beach, at 1000b/night, ($27 USD), which also featured a hearty American breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and coffee each morning for only 55b, (about $1.50 USD) There, I also had the pleasure of meeting and befriending the owner, Mr. Bill Jones (BJ), an American expat from Texas, who opened the very first beer bar in Pattaya, and has lived there married to a lovely Thai lady for more than 35 years. (Soi BJ off Walking Street is named after him) This nice gentleman had many great stories and much useful information about Thailand which I appreciated very much.
Finally, a million thanks to all of you fellow mongers, who have proudly gone before me, for the immensely valuable knowledge and information you’ve provided on this board, which, not only entertained, but also gave this rank newbie all the self confidence I needed to make my first visit to LOS the vacation of a lifetime. You guys are tops in my book.

have already provided bus from new airport to pattaya & hotel. rest is long reading.
settled into eastiny place soi 8, room clean, have stayed here before-like the tile floors. hungry, set off to explore carrefour mall on central rd (saw on the way in from the bus ride). decent food court (20-35b) ground floor and big grocery store on 2nd level w/typical fresh fruit, bakery and some meals to go also.
at central & 3rd rd, lime green building, peek inside – mini fish bowl about 10 ladies (wearing shirts, no evening gowns) offering oily massage, did not inquire as to $’s, pretty sure extras available.
visit saibai dee afternoon & early evening (still 1600b), it has changed! have been coming here since ’99 – has the quality gone down? not just here, but throughout pataya– the ladies seem to have gotten say plumper? i know the requirement for the msg ladies is bustier therefore slightly more meat on their bones but i saw a few that just turned me off! saw a average of 25% punters not staying either.
at pp massage about 4pm, only 4 ladies in bowl 1600b, one attractive body, intended to come back, never did – boy this town has too many distractions.

landed on beach road – some freaks from other planet! the other posters are right, fewer gems to be found (500b st), black shirts & their volunteers rounding them up and some of the vendors – it was quite a scene watching them chase down the vendors as they tried to outrun the police who seemingly just confirep001ed their goods but did not seem to arrest. as usual lb’s quite aggressive, especially after dark along beach rd, be carefull along east side of road (central rd-soi 6) where the tour buses park for the nite.
beer bar along 2nd road, bf 200-300, st 500 lt 800-1000, had a couple along here, nothing special, even had to kick one out after ‘no smoke’ wtf!
walking street, pulled a couple of freelancers here, couple of 8’s, got a couple more mobile #’s, hooked up later with them for daytime fun 6-800st.
would still return to my favorites here, superbaby and first big beer bar right hand side entering walking street. had to expand a bit, spent other quality time at peppermint, shark club (both) and beach club.
beach club hostess probably most memorable this part of trip bf 600 lt 2000 but not only a stunner (9) but either a vg actor or really got into it herself – don’t care, we’re here for the illusion aren’t we?
from 2nd rd/soi 8 – baht bus wanted 60-100b to bus terminal. hail down one in passing, get of at the dolphin turnaround (10b) and wait for next one eastbound on north rd (10b). bus to bkk now 121b took 2.25hrsto ekami early afternoon traffic, good connection to brt if luggage is light, 25b to my destination – total 186b. did not feel if it cost me much more time either, hotel to hotel less than 3.5hr. if shared minibus 400b, private taxi 800-1200b.
I departed Pattaya - a week early - today with a heavy heart. I have to admit to myself that I have been beaten by the Forces of Social Control. More to the point, the brave ladies of the Beach Road have been beaten, as most of the time I saw not more than a dozen left. I salute these hardy few and wonder what happened to the rest - those jackbooted thugs in black shirts do carry substantial truncheons for beating poors. In Brazil they hunt them, and even in this sad land Taksin had all the low level drug dealers shot (neglecting of course their suppliers - the constabulary).
One short time hotelier made the comment that 'if lady no work, she die'. This pearl was presented alone, with no context, in response to the query - 'will this go on forever'? Of course she was correct, but does it mean that all those girls are already dead? Or that the expensive and troublesome policing can cease once the genocide is complete? Probably most of those girls are rotting in jail rather than actually deceased, but the effect is the same. Still, all capitalist countries are richly endowed with poors, so the moment policing ceases, if it does, replacements will come flooding back.
Which brings me to another interview: one of the older Beach ladies told me that she believed in a few months it would 'all be over'. I scoffed, pointing out that the oppression had gone on for over a year. Her rationale was - surprising for Thailand - actually rational. She stated that a budget had been provided for this Social Engineering project on the beach - she claimed 2,000,000 baht - and that once it was used up, she doubted further disbursements would be forthcoming. I did not dispute further with her, or mention that in my sad land the police spend approximately half their time pursuing her sisters there, at great expense. Perhaps she knows more about Thai politics than I.
I leave Pattaya, not only because I cannot get laid in the fashion to which I have become accustomed, but because the process taking place there is too tragic and disgusting to view. It is hard to have a good time and enjoy sex when all around one things are visibly getting worse, and poor people are being viciously abused. I can stay home in the USA to observe this!

One can use any word to describe a situation, and seem awfully fucking clever while doing so, but until a word is accepted in the English language, then it just means that the user us a pretentious wanker.
I am glad that Pattaya was a pain for you, and it did not meet the criteria you set for a monger's destination. No doubt many more members of this forum will post glowing reports about the girls and their service once you are safely back in the land of the free, sorry, that was a joke.

Spent about a week in Pattaya in July. Spotted this looker in Foxy Lady bar on Soi 7. Barfined her and went short time (300 + 1000). Yeah I know a bit high but she was worth it. Had a baby so some stretch marks but service was great. Not sure if she is still there - do not have contact details.
