As Chipper recommended Kamasutra (Calle 53 42-74) I decided to have a look.

Damm Col Bog you write a good report! I agree with the beds at Kamasutra being, so-so, but the light in the room is really nice and the free porn is cool and a nice twist. clubs: visited two on calle 33, san diego and another one close by whose name i forget. one had very ugly girls and the other had some hotties who wanted 150k which is too much if you live in south america. that does include the room but who cares if you have your own place? i did get digits and saw one at my apartment for 100k. really nice looking, totally disinterested, everything covered.
visited several in town, one of which i liked but promised not to post about. liked it less after i got mugged not too far from it by guys who i am pretty sure followed me out of there. got quotes of 80k but never did session there because it always seemed i was there after i had just had sex in one of the

apartment: rented one for two months for $500 us a month, three bedroom two bath on calle argentina and carrera i think maybe 43. very new building. did not look at any other places, did not negotiate, probably overpaid, didn't really care. all low quality everything and hot water only worked if you turned the pressure way down. no hot water in the kitchen. paid no deposit so left after one month since i wasn't having a good time.
booze and drugs: i liked the popular beer brands but never got a buzz and finally realized they were very low in alcohol, like 4%. the alternative, brava, was not as tasty but a much better value at 6.5% alcohol for the same price. not impressed with club medellín rum and aguardiente is pretty foul.
but i did enjoy the marijuana. i was buying "joints" for 1500-2000 pesos but i think locals pay 1000. bought mostly in parque or plaza periodista near my apartment. i would take these "joints" apart and roll four. it was creeper too. the maids (at the apartment, not the mansion) stole some and also stole some xanax which i hope they oded on. this weed came in very handy given the combination of noise and early morning light in my apartment, combined with severe back pain. talked to some guys who bought from hector at the mansion and the price he charged them was ludicrously high.
safety: in addition to the successful mugging which cost me $4k pesos, about $1.75 us, plus a pair of eyeglasses that cost 100 times that much, two guys tried to rob me in broad daylight in pleno centro, and when i split one of the guy's heads open, the cops wanted to arrest me: "excessive use of force against a colombian citizen." he had his hand in my fucking pocket for christ's sake. that was about the last straw and i made arrangements to cut my trip short.
lots of very aggressive beggars who follow you around. absolutely nobody on the streets in my supposedly nice neighborhood after about 9 or 10 pm. i had bartenders in el centro advising me to have one beer and get out fast.
conclusion: i don't understand what the fuss is all about. i was totally disappointed. can you say "starfish"? maybe if you live in the us this place is great. the weather is definitely great. if you live where i live, the mongering is a total joke. i didn't even bother the last week. i fucked some 40 year old divorcee in my building instead. she wasn't that great either.
oh yeah, and got a lot of anti-american sentiment here too, which is well deserved but rather blatant.

wow, very interesting report. i just got back from another visit to medellin and had an absolutely fantastic time ... again.

I can't disagree with the dickhead. Medellin is ok for Americans that don't know that Latin America offers much better. I rate Columbian attitudes as somewhat better than your average American girl but somewhat poor compared to your average south american.

I agree with Dick Head. I've been to Medellin 3 times and have moved back to other destinations. There's a better value for my dollars else where. $800 plane ticket, $100 to/from the airport with exit tax, Mansion at $80/night to get below average sex. The paisa provide below average sex with almost all condom and love to hang at your side in clubs and restaurants as you're paying the bill. Speak with any Colombian in the states and they'll tell you that the paisa are the worse for taking advantage of U. My Colombian friends here tell me that when they visit their home city Medellin all their friends show up for parties because they know that someone else is paying. They will invest a few free sex sessions but you will notice that they move on when they know there is no return. Money or future green card. The ones over 30 are different. After 25 years of travelling throughout Latin America I'd have to say that Medellin is the nicest place I've ever been throughout the region and that includes places like Rio, Buenos Aires, and countless beach resorts in Central & South america and the Caribbean. The area I stayed, in a nice apartment in the hills above El Poblado, reminded me and made me feel like I was in the Belmont/San Carlos hills of the San Francisco Bay area.
I'll return this month and at least once more this year for a repeat of the Feria de Flores party. Will stay at El Castillo. You can't beat the lodgeing/hospitality package provided by Greg & Bob.

Hey Tom 33, I was hanging out in your part of town for a few days, on la Setenta, a couple nights in el Templo de Vallenatos.

I couldn't let this one go because in my view, its quite unfair, and completely unsubstantiated.
I've stayed at the Mansion twice and spent some time with Greg. The most recent trip, a few weeks ago, I was with Greg and another monger when I asked Greg about prices of the girls in the Mansion. Some guys have come to MDE as sex tourists and apparently have been disappointed. I came to get to know the city and her people and was not disappointed.
One guy claimed to have paid US$100 for round trip transit from/to the airport and US$80 per night for lodging. The current (as of Jan. 1 of this year) taxi rate from the airport to Medellin is 45K pesos(about US$20). The bus is 5K. I have found quite decent lodging for 100 to 120K per night, and you can pay a lot less. I have paid as little as 20K.
I don't spend a lot of time in massage parlors and strip clubs. I prefer to mine for nuggets in restaurants and parks. I have been amply rewarded.
Fortunately I have the time to spend here. Maybe, if you don't, you won't like it.
I would agree that MDE is not a place to visit only for the purpose of banging h**kers. I would also agree that it is a pleasant place to go and retire, it is relatively safe, nice and clean and close to the US if you are an American.

I agree with Ricker, age has little to do with anything in Columbia and in fact most Latin Countries. The truth be known, a lot of girls will be banging 2 or 3 guys at the same time. With the exception being the beach towns like CTG, Santa Marta, or Jaco, never wear shorts except at the gym (and not TO the gym, AT the gym).
No exceptions- other recommendations:
1. No flashy jewelry.
2. No baseball hats unless you are on a boat, playing golf, etc.
3. No sandals or tennis shoes- beach towns are the probable exception.
4. No heavy cologne.
5. Preferrably shirts with collars- at least a "designer type" t-shirt.
6. Shave.
7. Learn to speak the basic language with emphasis on "Por favor"
and "Muchas gracias".
8. Learn to dance (Te gustaria a bailar?).
9. Smile.
Latinas are proud people and not respecting their customs will create an insurmountable hurdle from the start. If you follow the basics, you have a shot but without some style, respect, and a good attitude, forget about it.
This is all knowledge taken from experience, (1) latina gf, and (2) young
hot Colombiana employees.
Last year in San Jose, I got to know a fellow from Florida who only wore t-shirts, cargo shorts, lots of gold chains, and a backwards baseball hat with no Spanish. He could never figure out why he got nowhere with the non-pros...even the hookers he ended up with were the lower end. Duh.

Well, having met Dickhead in B.A., I would have to say that he isn't all that ugly, and is definitely not fat, nor did I ever see him in a hawaiian shirt. He also has quite a lot of female fans in Argentina where he is known as the "red bull". A couple of years ago he counted up all the different girls he banged in a year. I've been to BA an Medellin quite extensively. I have family in BA and have been there well over a dozen times.
Both have beautiful women. I think if you are talking non-pro, Medellin has much nicer girls. BA women non-pros are not as approachable in my opinion.
I think it is easier to get a GFE from a girl in BA easier the first encounter. It takes an MDE Pro at least 2 times to get a good GFE.
You are more apt to get a Porno experience in BA. But neither BA or MDE holds a candle to Rio.
The problem with MDE non-pros is they profess their love for you only after a few dates. Its unbelievable. I've had to cut a few loose because they got too attached too early.
When Olga and I split, I only had a week left in Medellin. I met two women that wanted to be my girlfriend in only a week. They were strictly non-pro and beautiful as any pro out there.

That certainly hasn't been my impression, although I thinks its fair to say that different cities draw a different type of monger. For ex. the monger crowd in TJ on a saturday night differs greatly from the mongers in Buenos Aires.
The mongers I've met in MDE, BA and San Jose were, for the most part, either professionals or business owners. And consistent with their educational and financial status, were mostly in good physical shape too.
I don't think that the average cop, plumber etc. can just fly to Medellin for five days to romp with prostitutes. They have schedules that they don't control, and they have budgets. Its the professional/business crowd that can indulge themselves this way. And they CHOOSE to do this, because they can.
Don't discount the travel aspect of all this also. Lots of the mongers are informed and curious and like to see new places, people, and of course, females.

Wow, I have been visiting Medellin for years and have found both fantastic, the pros and girlfriends. Of course I try to stay away from the mainstream pros, the ones that have been around all the gringos, and I definitely stay away from the rich, snobby, Poblado chicas as far as non-pros go.
Also incredible to say the maids and security guards at the Mansion are not friendly. I have become absolute amigos with about all of them from the Mansion and the Castillo. Great, humble people. Visiting them, as well as Roberto of the Castillo is about the only reason I still stay there.
I took them (the maids) all out one night to a Vallenato dance club (Colombian country music) for rum and dancing ... great time, among the best times I've have had in Medellin.
Anyway, it's a shame your impression of Medellin and the Paisas is like that.

For the guys that may want to get away from el Poblado, or take a break from mongering: I've seen and met some absolute beautiful chicas (non-pros) in el Parque de Bello (the park in Bello). Bello is a very humble (mostly poor) municipality just outside of Medellin.
Take the metro to Niquia station and then a short cab ride to the park.
Obviously, the more you speak spanish, the better.
Weekends are great as well as daily afternoons as the girls are getting off work / school.
Another great place I love to hang out in the afternoons is near the football stadium, el Estadio, at Obilisco (an outdoor mall), near the massage place Energy.
Great place to see and meet non-pros as they get off work / school.

I have to thank Dickhead for perhaps unintentionally, shining the spotlight on the prostitution scene in MDE, and by extension, S America.
Bluntly put, on average, the Korean 'table shower' places in NYC give better gfe and service than any latina hookers, from the Rio Grande to the Tierra del Fuego. Thats been my experience, over and over. Asia is where the ultimate hooker experience is to be had IMHO.
South/Central America's attraction is, I believe, the normal women, who are beautiful, loving, and plentiful. And available with a minimum of effort.
Ricker makes lots of good points about having a good attitude, locations to meet etc. It appears that the latin culture places much less emphasis on money that we do, and a smile and a sense of humor will get the visitor much further than a robust Amex card.
One of the nicest times I had in S America was recently when I went to the bullfight in Medellin on Saturday afternoon with a couple of other guys. Outside the stadium, after the show, there was a band, and tables were set up where you could eat and drink. So we sat down and ordered a bottle of rum. Soon, someone at an adjacent table asked where we were from. A drunk came up and asked us for a drink and we obliged, again and again. Then a lady from a nearby table asked us if we knew how to dance. Soon we were dancing with the ladies, both young and old, and chatting with them. What a great time! Truly, its hard to stay a stranger for long in latin america.

Medellin is not Rio or Thailand. Every monger has his favorite destination, so I can respect Dickhead's opinion. Dude u are a well travelled monger who is fluent in Spanish (I think) so doing the Gringo circuit in MDE prob got u the HO HUM reaction from paisas (both pro and non-pro) who see gringos on the regular.

I want to weigh into this little discussion because I find it quite interesting.

I don't believe you need the city code '3'. I think for cell phones, the city code is the 1st three digits, followed by the 7 digit phone number: 011-57-xxx-abcdefg

I report on this thread for the benefit of those like myself who visit and enjoy this unspoiled land I now call Home. I decided to take a chance and let one of the visitors here PM me and meet up with him for a nite out in Medellin. I mean what is the worst that could happen, the guy gets shitfaced and loud I have to use the back exit to leave him at the bar alone, hehehhe. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Dan D Dick at the Mansion where we agreed to meet for the first time and was surprised at the location and the quality of the Mansion facility, this is a class act. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan of organized hunts in a zoo which I think the Mansion is. But if ya got to pay the dues to learn the ropes of Medellin then this is the place to do it. Then we piled in the Land Cruiser and it was off for a nite of fun. I was also really impressed with Dan D Dick, a really nice guy and professional type person. Not the ruff and tumble type you may associate coming to Colombia for holiday and gettin the trenches mongering which I drug him thru last nite. We made 3 MPS, Atenea 2007, Aiffe, and my favorite spot Kamasutra, we viewed the line ups at each place and told the host we would call later for a chica to come to the Hotel, nice way to bow out and see the line up! Seems the going rate for chica exit to you're hotel from the MPS is about 160, 000 pesos for 2 hours and 80, 000 for an hour, some include the Taxista transportation others don't. We all sessioned at Kamasutra and were pleased with the girls we each chose, I chose a tall slim 8. 5 called Angie, she read the book on Kamasutra and loves to try and replicate the positions, she is good. Then we were off to the strip clubs for a beer and talk, damm music was so loud that talk was a strain but we enjoyed a cold beer and about an hour and a half of the girls shows. Bar Maracabeo and Bar Ejectivo were the only two we made but that was plenty. Damage=64, 000 pesos for 3 Pilsen and two girly drinks for 2 chicas. Chicas drinks 11 and 12, 000 each. Try and speak low around the satff if you don't speak spanish and there is less chance of getting the Gringo prices. All and all we had a great time and Dan thanks for the drinks, you are a good man and I hope that you're view of Colombia will bring you back our way again.

It's about a young paisa who ends up being an assasin in a gang assocated with a drug lord in the 80s. Of course it plays right into the only 3 things that USSA folks seem to know about Colombia:

But it's a haunting movie, showing many shots of the city from a very poor and dangerous barrio ("Communa"?) located, I think, in the hills in the NE section of the city - obviously a place that few or none of us has ventured into. The main actress is hot, and looks like many a paisa that I've seen, including the bolt-ons. Smoking body. Some say she overacted a bit, but if you had her life, you'd be sad and crying a lot too.
Though I only got to see the last half of the movie, it really affected me - I want to jump on a plane and go back to Medellin. I even dreamed about Medellin last night, in my dream I was trying to find a good map to locate the barrio, then meeting a couple of paisas and exchanging cell phone numbers. The movie jumps around in time a lot, which can be confusing, I had a hard time with the barrio jerga and language, but if you're into Medellin, Gonzo gives it 2 thumbs up. The funeral scene is particularly powerful.

A good chunk of the original movie is missing, some parts seem to be too "steamy" even for HBO.I have the original DVD bought in Bogota.

Actually almost all of the Strip clubs do not open till 7 to 9; 30 during the week, we went to Fase Dose, not Face dos and it did not open till 9; 30 on Monday nites, the going rate is 150, 000 pesos and includes the Cabana next door. Its pricy for Colombia but well run and clean operation, San Diego Show is a block away and its allright but they have a bad rep for hosin Gringos so if you have Gringo written all over you, ask in advance, like. Is there a minimum beverage purchase? Does the girls charge include the room? For 5 beers we paid 64, 000 pesos, 3 for the guys and 2 for the chicas company, We found out when they brought the check there was a 2 beer minimum on each of us, instead of being correct and bringing the extra beer they just hosed us with it, hehehehe. Then once before the bar keep hit me for a 45, 000 room charge when we approached the enrty door in the back, to save any conflict I paid, but he lost a customer. Its easy to get any of the girls phone numbers and they will meet up with you later away from the club at a reduced rate, my choice. Review Scooby list, the Central area is my choice and some of the MPS are open till 10 pm in the area, but if you go to the Strip bars on 53rd, try and cabbie to the door and exit the same, its not real safe if you walk alone, 2 or more you're OK, Is the best choice for action in the clubs at a good price, Try Las Americas, Maracabo, and Ejectivo bars on 53rd, they all open around 2 to 4 pm but the heavier number of girls do not show till 8; 30 or 9 pm, can be as many as 25 to 45 girls on site, good hunting, Chipper, Please PM me if you have any contact needs.

a very long report but i think it has a few pointers worthwhile for somebody visitng mde for the first time.
arrived wednesday evening at 6:30 as expected. made it quickly through passport control & customs, exited the arrivals hall and looked for hector, the driver from the mansion. nope. hang around a bit & still no hector. one of the skycaps offers to help & we [he] uses his coins to call the mansion from a pay phone. several phone calls later & we finally get ahold of boyd - the new, third partner in the operation. he tells me lina had said i had missed my flight. nope, didn't happen though two others were coming in that evening. anyway, some fumbling & boyd tells me hector is already at the airport & i can't miss him - he's medium height with brown hair. so i guess he looks like 90% of the other latinos out there - thanks boyd. we finally meet up & we're on the way nearly an hour after i exited the arrival hall. i tip the skycap 10,000cop & he seems very happy.

just returned from my first excursion to colombia and what a time it was!
stayed at the mansion, and had no problem hooking up with hector once my bags got past the sniffing beagle upon arriving at the airport. i did not arrive to the mansion until 10:00 and other than isaiah (sp?) the security guard, not much happening at that moment.

i can honestly say i did not have a bad experience with any of the girls i chose. my favorite casa in terms of selection was abydos. i had to ask for pen and paper to keep up with all the talent parading through la sala. took two girls there for 170,000. the room was nice and i let my choice, jennifer choose her friend and we all had a great time.

at the end of the day, i have no regrets. i put colombia a few notches above the dr. nothing beats rio, but for half the cost and a much shorter flight, you can’t beat colombia. not trying to sound like a shill for greg, or the colombian tourist board, but i’m just calling it like i lived it.

I bought the 2-pack from the Farmacia adjacent to (on the right as you enter) the Casino Caribe on Calle Playa in Centro. The 2-pack was 2,000 COP or less than $0.50US each. I bought ten packs and got several thousand COP in change so there must be a quantity discount. Both seem to work just fine.
I was unable to locate generic Levitra or Cialis though I didn't look very hard as I was able to last six of the seven days without support. That'll proabably change next year....

Just got back from a week in MDE stayed a private apartment and wasnt really looking for hard-core pros, I arrived in MDE on the 22nd of march, Initially had planned to meet a non-pro i had been talking to for about 5 months on cybercupido, but things fell through and i dumped her 2 days before i came because I was sick of her going out and not letting me know. Went to SAN DIEGO and Fase II on two consecutve days mon and tues and all i can say is that it wasnt good at all and i was not impressed by either the club or the talent. 5k cover and 10k beers for either PILSEN OR CORONA, of course im gonna let them take less of a profit and get a corona. I swear i saw like two tables of Germans with Brickenstocks w/socks, is MDE gonna quickly become another DR?
I stayed out of places like the MANSION, VIP. because I dont like infllated gringo prices and I go away to be away from gringos, not to be lumped together in a group with them. I just wasnt looking for artificial expensive love this time. I wanted the non-pro challenge to see if i could do it.
Mangos is a "tourist trap novelty" and very expensive! (in Colombian terms) 15k cover and 120k for a bottle of rum you could by for 18k in Carulla and 4k oz cokes. For sure you should bring dates to impress them and they will be eager to go there to be seen and people watch. Total night 400k.
The "nice" lounge area is Parque LLeras, this area is like COCOWALK in Coconut Grove, here in Miami, for those who know the area. BUT this was almost a turn-off for me becuase i was expecting more traditional COLOMBIAN music but was overwhelmed with trance/lounge music, which is why i got out of Miami for in the first place. A plus, tons of hotties around in groups of 5 or more, but only thurs-sat.
Now if you think you can just be a gringo and expect these girls to grovel at your feet, you can forget it, Everywhere you look there are good looking people both male and female who seem to have money. These girls seem to not need your money for nothing. Gringos are becoing less and less of a novelty there by the second. Went to the malls, tesoro, molinos, olviedo, saw some amazing hotties, but in other areas where i usually get a second look, i was getting no vibes. I dress very-nicely and these people dress just as or nicer than me, so you need to dress to impress, even in the day-time, The paisas are impressed by well dressed nice looking men and not the contrary. If you think you can go around with a dirty gap t-shirt and holey levi jeans and reebok sneakers, i dont think you will have much luck, i dont care how charming you think you are.
Thank-god I met the cutest of cuties who worked in a market, she literally saved the trip for me. She gave me a second glance with a smile so i new i could talk to and charm her for a date. She is such a hottie and good girl that after 3 good dates we are just up to some hand holding and kiss good night, which usually i would never wait that long without some progression but she is well worth it. Thank-god also for my guide who goes to one of the local universities and introduced me to some of his friends who were hot and good make-out buddies, again these girls are non-pros and would take a little of working on, but much less work than my present paisa.

MiamiHeatLover, you're report was right on the money, the only real bargains that remain are in the local bars in Centro, a little shady area called calle53 and the surrounding blocks hold real treasures. Danddick and I found a world of available talent in the scuzzy dimlit hallways of the MPS, I am a regular down there and have tried to make all the MPS and the bars or grills as I locate them but it has become a challenge. I see Scoobys list now reports over 36 MPS and it is growing, Danddick and I located a few that were off the map they were so new. Just a few tips, do not walk this area alone after dark, try and find a well traveled route back to the Casino or Taxi or parquedero. Keep money in 2 pockets, if need be give up one pocket in the air and run, they will gravel for the money instead of you're head. Try and keep english to a minimum when walking, and speak softly when necessary on the streets, not to give an impression of danger, just be smart when in this area. As a matter of fact I almost left the second time I went when the bartender made a big deal about the necessity of buying at least a half bottle to sit at a table.
The bottom line is spend 75000CP or sit at the bar away from the action and buy cervezas at 10000CP a pop.

I´ve been told that MDE is probably more racist than most other Colombian cities, since it is also one of if not the lilliest white cities there.

Good times and good friends, it was really nice to take the Sultan and Ek, and be- out with me for my weekly stroll thru the sweet streets of Medellin Centro. A few years back this would have been called the mean streets of Medellin. Today the busy residents go about selling and buying hawking their wares to the tourist passing by. I enjoy the reactions of people like EK, Sultan, be-, and my new friend Danddick when they get to see the Centro area as a first timer, we eat at the roadside cafes, catch the MP line ups and then have a few Pilsens and enjoy the beauty that Medellin has become famous for, The Paisa women. The centro area is a stark contrast to the bario that encompasses the Mansion and El Poblado section of town, it is the inner city with all its energy, pollution, noisy cabbies and buses bombarding the senses in a fever pitch. I hope to show the guys more of this area in the next few days and move onto Fase Dose, San Diego, while I dislike both of these clubs it is important to see them to give a well rounded view of the nite life from a residents perspective. The street girls around San Diego sitting on the corners, the girly boys with all the make up trying to attract attention to themselves, and the all too noisy strip bars are the next stop on the tour! The Casino Caribe in centro with its twin Casino girls is a must see and the food is 4 star, the Casino Rio at San Diego, PS. The big guy bounced the Casino Grand Medellin for 1. 3 milllion in 5 minutes, all aboard, time to mount up! These are my last few days here for a few months, I will be traveling to the DR, Peru, Vegas, Florida and Texas for vacation, I will miss the city but hope to return in July, I hope all the guys post good comments on Medellin, I think she deserves the good press and not the BS the world has come to know of her. , She is a Diamond in the rough, being polished by the Uribe goverment to take her place as one of the best cities in South America!

This is my report on my first trip to Medellin. I speak very little Spanish. First, I chose to stay at the Mansion. There was no one reason I chose the mansion over other places in Medellin. The staff of the mansion was terrific, I am sure the other establishments also offer a similar experience. My original plan was to stay at the mansion my first time, then on future visits stay at a hotel, once I learned the Medillin routine. What the mansion offered that I was not expecting, was that I met other members there that I hit it off with, and it provided a real comfortable atmosphere to relax in and people to go out to diner and the clubs with. If I go back, I am probably staying at one of the mansion type places. Again, I am sure other places offer this same advantage versus staying in a regular hotel. The one thing I did not like at the mansion, was the Sunday party, while all the guys ate well, the ladies were given a 1/2 of hotdog and some beans. That is just wrong, I can not speak for others but for myself I would have been happy with just burgers, dogs, and chips for everyone.
I know very little Spanish what I would recommend is to try to learn just a few basic phrases and familiarize yourself with how to say the numbers. Next, buy a Spanish or Latin American Phrasebook. They have good ones at www.lonelyplanet.com, they are small and fit in your back pocket. You might also consider a English-Spanish dictionary. With these simple steps, you should be able to communicate to enjoy your stay. The exception would be using the taxis. My observation is that most of the cab drivers are not all that familiar with Medillin. That it took quite a bit of Spanish to get the driver to understand where you wanted to go. It was beyond my limited Spanish, the solution to this is to have a small drawing of the surrounding streets of where you are staying with the address and hand it to the driver. Next you can find a land mark near where you are staying and have the driver drop you off there and walk from there to where you are staying. We used a Mall near the mansion. I rode the metro, it is safe and efficient, the down side is you have to find a station and walk there.
Getting cash is easy, there are ATMs everywhere they have English and Spanish, and offer the best exchange rate. This is coming from a friend I met down there who was in the banking business. If you go to a bank or check cashing place to exchange money. Expect to wait in line, have your passport, (not copy), and expect to be finger printed, (either manually or electronically scanned). This way does take time.
Getting in and out of the airport is easy. There is security everywhere. When leaving luggage area have your luggage claim tickets ready. They will ask for them and compare them to your bags. Like other countries you will hit a button, if it turns one color your bags are searched, another color you can just leave. There are taxis and drivers right outside the front door.
As far as the ladies are concern, I can not say much that has not been said before. I will say from experience that there are opportunities available in places you may not expect. I met a nice lady who was hostess at a restaurant, and dated on the side. One night I took a girl out of the mansion for diner and clubbing and she introduce me to her friends. Every where we went she knew someone and introduced me generally they were available. My observation is that this is an acceptable way of life in Colombia, and there are opportunities available all over, if you keep your eyes open. All the girls I met, had day jobs, and did this for some extra comforts.
I want to end this post by asking some guys use some common sense when posting pictures here. When I got home and came here to the site low and behold I find a picture of me and a lady at the mansion. I did not know the picture was taken. The guy who posted it was nice enough to take is down after I PM him. However, before posting pictures, ask yourself if you would like someone posting your picture here. Take a moment and cut out/white out bystanders. I would like to see photo guidelines changed so that a member who was caught in a unsuspecting photo can have the picture removed by just going through the moderator, and request it to be remove, just in case the member who posted refuses to take it down. However this should be a self regulating rule by the membership, just look closely at the picture and make sure you know who is in it. No picture of a lady is worth posting her picture if you are going to possibly hurt other members here.

Chippers Top 10 things you need to do in Medellin:
1. Visit the downtown and centro MPS and the strip bars on calle 53
2. Have dinner at either Ilfornos italian resturant or Brasas, the view and the food are great, Ilfornos is romantic but the view of the city at Brasas will be a memory to last. Both under 40, 000 pesos for 2 with drink.
3. Ride the public transportation system, City bus to the Metro station then ride to Exposiones stop and walk 2 or so blocks to Sandiego Mall or ride to Parque De Barios and you are in centro area.
4. The beautiful malls and the beautiful girls that shop there, Tessoro mall, Ovierdo, San Diego, the most impressive is Tessoro. Have lunch at Crepes and Waffles the Chicken and Mushroom crepes are to die for.
5. Take time to visit the Weko for shopping and a view of the citys bustling trade center, it is amazing to see, try the weekdays before noon, the weekends are crazy!
6. Take one day and see some of the model apts. In the new projects going on in the city, the prices and what you get will amaze U. The City is exploding with growth, its 7 percent, twice the US, for you older guys check into residency requirements, its actually pretty easy and retirement here is great!
7. Make the Casino run if you gamble, they have 3 really nice ones here, Casino Caribe where they have a great resturant in the back of the Casino, its in the centro area so you can combine the MP tour with this one, then San Diegos Rio Casino, then Casino Grand Medellin a few blocks from the Mansion.
8. San Diego Show and Fase Dose, both are not my favorites but they give you a different class and perspective on the nite life, Fase Dose is first class ass and you can see they spent some money on it. Mangos for the show, but bring a date.
9. The MPS on calle 33, it is a step up in price from centro but there are 5 or 6 within blocks of eachother and have some of the best local talent available for 55 to 70, 000 pesos for the hour.
10. The last and optional is the midget girl at Geishas, this is the only one I have seen in my time here and she is cute and not too dwarfed, a must see if nothing else, or Laura Marie at Bar Ejectivo in Centro, the one with the chain saw wound in Daddicks post, this is a freaky girl who is part Sado and ready to please, hell she may even fo fisting condsidering the size of that thing.

I have been to MDE twice last year. Did about 6 of the 10 things you listed, I think? The public transportation should include the tram / skycar / "ski-lift" thingee that went up a hill. Met this girl at calle 53 joint and she took me there sightseeing . . . forgot what it was called, connected directly to the metro.
I would like to add to your list a visit to the Botero Museum and a visit to any of the older public squares on the weekend where people spilled out from attending church to shop the flea market, street vendors and watch some street performers.

I've been visiting Medellin for years and I return for the great friends and great chicas I've met and visit, of course it is fun to explore and make new friends too. The massage places are great for sure if you need a chica.
Obviously Rio has the great beach atmoshere and the Brasilenas are incredible and so passionate.

Thats good that you have 2 trips to Rio. I have 30 trips to brazil since 1999. I know Rio like the back of my hand spending 6 months down there at one point in time. For me Rio is a big waste of space. If you packed all the good P4P, Clubs, and good restaraunts on one street it would not be longer then 1 block long. Its a big bore. The beach is nice if you go up to barra. Oh and I forgot the favelas in every single part of the city, and the people begging at each corner. If your want to talk about the best place to go in Brazil for P4P, regular girls, shopping, and restaraunts then your takling Sao Paulo.

But Medellin being innocent? I respectfully disagree. I think both Rio and Medellin have their own unique set of problems.. Rio is probably more violent at this time ( cuando Pablo no estaba muerto, I would say Medellin was more dangerous for tourists). But Medellin has its own scams, people using different angles on how to take your money or over charge. And this applies to both pros and nonpros. But again, I really and truly have a blast in Medellin.
I have traveled to many places in S.America and Europe and I live in one of the most multicultural cities in the US. With all of my years and many encounters with the female species of different nationalities, the Colombian women ( pro and non pro), I must say that they know how to play the game better than any other. In my opinion, they are not as innocent as they seem. All that being said, there are exceptions. Its only fair to mention that there are women just like this in other places, but I think Colombian women take first prize in playing innocent role, and either looking for papers or money when its all said and done. Even my dear Paisa friends in Colombia as well as the US have mentioned this to me. That blows me away when I hear that. Sometimes I have to scratch my head, but it really makes it easier to remind myself not to fall for any of these ladies when dealing with them. By the way, I also avoid enamorandome de una brazilera tambien.

Leaving tomorrow morning after a quick (8 day) trip to Medellin. Have a girlfriend down here at the moment so my mongering was limited to some of my favorite day-time massage places like Energy, Blue Room and Abydos. The line ups were pretty good at all, especially Energy. I love coming back down here after a month or two and seeing the new sampling of girls along with old favorites. The prices seem to be creeping up all the time at these places, but they are still cheap compared to just about any other place I've been to. And the likelihood of GFE seems to be much higher here as well.
One little hottie at Energy (Veronica) says she has a boyfriend who thinks she works as a data entry tech. Poor guy. Just imagine if you girlfriend were getting nailed 10 times a day by different mongers and you had no idea!!

Maybe you're spending too much time in one place. I have a good time almost everywhere I go because I mix things up and experience some variety. In the past year have been to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Las Vegas (as well as several US destinations where I was not mongering) and my hometown of Los Angeles. I wouldn't want to spend 6 months in any of these places (other than LA), but can enjoy them for a month at a time. BTW Thailand and Indonesia are much better than anywhere in the Western Hemisphere for mongering IMO.
Obviously we have a different opinion about Rio's beaches - but they are clearly better than Medellin's ;)

My current favorite is La Conejito (the little bunny) which is downstairs below the Le Grief Hotel (across the street from Parque Botero). A fellow monger recently PM'd me advising that he had read my review of th place and that he and three friends had a great time there not long too ago.

Good times and good friends, it was really nice to take the Sultan and Ek, and be- out with me for my weekly stroll thru the sweet streets of Medellin Centro. A few years back this would have been called the mean streets of Medellin. Today the busy residents go about selling and buying hawking their wares to the tourist passing by. I enjoy the reactions of people like EK, Sultan, be-, and my new friend Danddick when they get to see the Centro area as a first timer, we eat at the roadside cafes, catch the MP line ups and then have a few Pilsens and enjoy the beauty that Medellin has become famous for, The Paisa women. The centro area is a stark contrast to the bario that encompasses the Mansion and El Poblado section of town, it is the inner city with all its energy, pollution, noisy cabbies and buses bombarding the senses in a fever pitch. I hope to show the guys more of this area in the next few days and move onto Fase Dose, San Diego, while I dislike both of these clubs it is important to see them to give a well rounded view of the nite life from a residents perspective. The street girls around San Diego sitting on the corners, the girly boys with all the make up trying to attract attention to themselves, and the all too noisy strip bars are the next stop on the tour! The Casino Caribe in centro with its twin Casino girls is a must see and the food is 4 star, the Casino Rio at San Diego, PS. The big guy bounced the Casino Grand Medellin for 1. 3 milllion in 5 minutes, all aboard, time to mount up! These are my last few days here for a few months, I will be traveling to the DR, Peru, Vegas, Florida and Texas for vacation, I will miss the city but hope to return in July, I hope all the guys post good comments on Medellin, I think she deserves the good press and not the BS the world has come to know of her. , She is a Diamond in the rough, being polished by the Uribe goverment to take her place as one of the best cities in South America!

My portuguese is at about 90% with a slight carioca accent so its easy for me to get lost in the sauce for months on end. Okay want the report....
Missed my flight on Friday, but I got the Saturday flight.
I had contacted chipper previously and gave him a call after getting to the Mansion.... Avaianca lost my bags so I did a little shopping at the Ovedio Mall and we hooked around 2pm.
His gf went to the Casino and he took me and two friends.... Black Sultan and Beas... to Centro...

Just a short belated report on my stay in Medellin from 3/24 to 4/3. Stayed at El Castillo again so was in attendance at the pool parties on 3/25 & 4/1. Totally of the hook. On 3/25 I pulled red hot Sandra (large rack, beautiful sexy eyes) out of the party for a couple of hours back at El Castillo. Then I walked her back to the Mansion to drop her off, it's dark now, and I'm sitting at the table by the pool and equally hot (but with better attitude IMHO) Lorena practically falls in my lap and so I chat her up and decide, WTF? Normally, my style isn't to fuck everything in sight as often as physically possible but I'm smart enough to know when the time is right for an exception so I took her back to El Castillo for round two. I ended up hanging with Lorena extensively over my stay. One day I took her to the gym in the afternoon then back to El Castillo for a nice long session. I bring a portable CD stereo and had a fridge always stocked with wine, some food, & other drinks so the comfort level is high. I generally pay them the 150K going Mansion girl rate (allthough they all hit me with higher prices initially) but also, always impose my condition that the time limit be variable. That is, I tell them that 60 minutes is unexceptable. When they come back with "How long? ", I tell them; I don't know, but normally it goes from 1 1/2 hrs to 3 hours, it just depends on how the party goes betwen us. They agree and I always have a great time. All in all, another GREAT stay at El Castillo/Medellin Mansion with special thanks to Boyd, Robert, Lina, Greg for his vision allthough he was absent, and the whole staff. The lodging and hospitality package they offer is unsurpassed. It's a whole nother world down there. Can't wait to go back.

Phillipines, Indonesia, Thailand, and even Japan... Australia as I grew up there.... 27 years ago I first hit Amsterdam and Germany.... Mexico and Canada... and any state I have visited in the US.
Yes I was a newbie this trip and thus asked questions and tried to develop friendships with the more experienced people on this board.
I don't have to save up for the trip.... did 2 to the DR because friends were going and one to Amsterdam during that time.... I also travel extensively for work so it is hard between that and my commitments to my kids (who live with my ex) to squeeze any more trips in, but I will be back to Colombia a couple of times in the next 12 months....

I have had a great life and am very well paid... if picking up a check or tipping makes me some sort of destroyer of mongering economies then they must be real delicate... when I travel I want comfort and fun and how I do that has not seemed to be taken as offensive at every other place except this one...

I did not have any issues in regards to my race like I thought I would. In fact, I think some of the chicas were intrigued by my light brown eyes. Some of them probably havent seen a black guy with light brown eyes before. I felt very comfortable with them. The big issue for me was the language barrier. I need to learn spanish better, period. Besides, once I had a notepad full of Tel #'s, ie after my first full day in MDE, I didn't head to the Mansion everytime I got the "urge". I'm pobably more independant than most so my time in MDE didn't center around the Mansion. Most days, I did something around town during the afternoon and before going out, called one of the chicas, usually leaving message to call me back. They always did and we would agree to meet back at El Castillo between 4 & 5: 00pm. If I failed to get the number of a chica I noticed at the Mansion and wanted to do, I just asked Boyd if he had it and he readily provided it.

A few travel notes (I haven't mongered yet). Mostly to buget-minded travelers. Big spenders should not bother reading.
1. I flew in on Copa Airlines. I got a roundtrip web fare for $285 (plus taxes) from Miami connecting in Panama City. You can only get that fare by going to the Copa Airlines web site (you won't find it on www.sidestep.com, www.expedia.com, etc). Panama City is a great connection city. Tons of hot babes wandering around from various latin america countries. Panama City is somewhat of a hub city for latin america. Free wireless internet and a nice shopping area. Also, due to the smaller plane flying into Medellin, immigration and customs lines were a breeze. Most important, THERE IS MORE THAN ONE FLIGHT A DAY. I've been screwed a few times by Avianca and American when their 1 flight got canceled. I also like the fact you can arrive in Medellin during the day and relax a bit before going out.
2. I always head straight to the ATM after leaving customs. I don't like taxi drivers taking me to ATM machines for security reasons. This time, the ATM allowed withdrawls up to 1,000,000 pesos. This is more than double before. On the downside, that's probably why I'm hearing more and more about gringos being lead at gunpoint to ATM machines (this seems to be more of a problem in Cali though). I picked-up Rum and Gatorade there too. If you're staying at Castillo, you'll want to get supplies for the first night since there are no stores closeby.
3. I took the bus into Medellin instead of arranging a pick-up or taking a taxi. It's a pretty good deal ... 5 mil to Medellin and then a 5 mil taxi from there (5 bucks total). It really didn't take much longer than a taxi would have.
4. I'm staying at Castillo for $55 per night. This really is a good deal. Free wireless internet, decent TV channels, AC, hot water, decent room, etc. I tried to stay at Whitelight's place but one of my emails must have gotten lost and since I didn't hear back from him and it was getting late, I reserved a room a Castillo. Sorry Whitelight, I'd like to try your place sometime though.

A few travel notes (I haven't mongered yet). Mostly to buget-minded travelers. Big spenders should not bother reading.
1. I flew in on Copa Airlines. I got a roundtrip web fare for $285 (plus taxes) from Miami connecting in Panama City. You can only get that fare by going to the Copa Airlines web site (you won't find it on www.sidestep.com, www.expedia.com, etc). Panama City is a great connection city. Tons of hot babes wandering around from various latin america countries. Panama City is somewhat of a hub city for latin america. Free wireless internet and a nice shopping area. Also, due to the smaller plane flying into Medellin, immigration and customs lines were a breeze. Most important, THERE IS MORE THAN ONE FLIGHT A DAY. I've been screwed a few times by Avianca and American when their 1 flight got canceled. I also like the fact you can arrive in Medellin during the day and relax a bit before going out.
2. I always head straight to the ATM after leaving customs. I don't like taxi drivers taking me to ATM machines for security reasons. This time, the ATM allowed withdrawls up to 1,000,000 pesos. This is more than double before. On the downside, that's probably why I'm hearing more and more about gringos being lead at gunpoint to ATM machines (this seems to be more of a problem in Cali though). I picked-up Rum and Gatorade there too. If you're staying at Castillo, you'll want to get supplies for the first night since there are no stores closeby.
3. I took the bus into Medellin instead of arranging a pick-up or taking a taxi. It's a pretty good deal ... 5 mil to Medellin and then a 5 mil taxi from there (5 bucks total). It really didn't take much longer than a taxi would have.
4. I'm staying at Castillo for $55 per night. This really is a good deal. Free wireless internet, decent TV channels, AC, hot water, decent room, etc. I tried to stay at Whitelight's place but one of my emails must have gotten lost and since I didn't hear back from him and it was getting late, I reserved a room a Castillo. Sorry Whitelight, I'd like to try your place sometime though.

YES It is a strip club, Aparently its the nicest in MEDELLIN, but to me it seemed kind of dingy and lackluster, like a converted warehouse, IN the warehouse district. DONT run a tab there, pay as you go. Theyy have girls dancing sets like every other 4 songs, AND no matter what they look or dance like, they come around asking for tips, so have those small bills ready. Be prepared to spend money on the girls because they are hard core pros and will pass you by if your not ready to spend $$$. I think its 150k and hour and another 150k SALIDA. Im not sure how much luck you will have chatting up pre-negotiation and getting comfy with them, Becuase somebody with ALOT of money will wave her over if shes hot and thier ready too spend, And she will leave the table like your on fire. Ya, Fase Dos is a ripoff, but I guess it has to be experienced. What is worse about the ripoff is that the waiters also add to the ripoff and lie right to your face.....that is unless you get belligerent about it.
I've been lucky and have gotten 'street tours' from expats and veterans. If he is willing, try and get Medellin Bob to take you on a night time tour. The safest of the street areas is Mayorista. You can even get some decent food there. Well, I did'nt die from it.

Wiinner71, the ATM I went to today was upstairs (where you check-in for flights) and I'm pretty sure it was Davivienda. It's right next to the Bank of Colombia ATM which didn't accept my card. I didn't try to get the 1,000,000, but I was successful in getting 500,000. There was even an "Other Amount" option, so you might be able to go even higher.

I agree that Mayorista is the safest of the street areas. I also like the food there from the street vendors as well as the it down restaurants.
Many of the Mayorista girls will not leave the area because they too feel safe there. So if you find a street girl that is to your liking I recommend the Hotel Monterrey which is in the middle of the strip for $11,000 cop 1.2hr ST fee. However for a much better hotel and room just go around the corner to any of the three large hotels. My favorite is La Manarcha which is $22,000 cop for 3 hours and has hot and cold water, TV, CD/Radio & room service.

PS. Please remember that many of the Mayorista girls are young and very inexperienced at pleasing a man. For the most part they are used to truckers fucking them for 5 to 10 minutes then popping. Take some lube with you as well as well as your favorite brand of condoms because most of the hotels on the strip sell shitty condoms, however the Monarcha sells good ones and in variety and also sells lube. The lube will make it more comfortable for the girl and she will get into the act more.
