I've been required to leave my ID with hotels in many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Much depends on what you want. If you are looking for a full night, the most popular options mentioned here are Cascadas and Ticuan. There are other options but these two are very different options. The differences: cost, location and comfort. Cascadas can be much cheaper with a VIP card on a Monday night. You still get a discount but will pay a higher price on a Sat. Still, Cascadas will be cheaper than Ticuan. (Rough estimate, you'd likely spend about $40 more at Ticuan.) Comfort-wise, Ticuan is a hotel you'd see all over the US. I'd compare it to Hilton Garden Inn. (Not a perfect comparison, but serves the purpose.) It is much more comfortable than Cascadas, in my experience. Cascadas is much more bare bones. Ticuan is girl friendly, though I imagine if you have a revolving door in your room, that might not make them happy. Still, I've never had a problem with 2 girls at a time there.
Lastly, location. There is something to be said for living above a brothel. LOL However, that comes with its own challenges too. See numerous posts about noise. I fly into SD. Anymore, I just stay in Tijuana vs SD. So I take the trolley from the airport. When I stayed in SD, I would park the rental car at a blue line trolley station. I don't believe you can park there overnight and certainly not for days. Try checking this board, there are several threads about parking. Not sure if it's an option or feasible but you don't need a rental to get to Tijuana. You can get to the border using mass transit fairly easily. If you need a car for other reasons, check the board.
Changing dollars to pesos: that's easy. There are several places as you exit the trolley at San Ysidro and walk towards the border. The boards are lit up and you'll see the best deal. They are all within a few pennies of each other. Generally, it is better off to exchange on the US side, though I read recently someone got a better deal in Tijuana. Just know that they typically do not provide a lot of small bills. But don't sweat it. You will find plenty of places to exchange on both sides of the border.

My most recent trip was a complete failure with regards to the escort scene. In the past, escorts have provided my best experiences. I'll also say that I'm picky. I don't really like taking who they have available. I will be flexible on scheduling but for any trip, I'll pick out 8-10 escorts I'd like to see and hope to see 4. They'd respond 8 hours later after I made other plans. It is what it is. But makes me wonder about how they run their business and how much money they leave on the table. They lost out on about $1,200 from me over a couple days. Of course, I didn't bring that money home. Some HK chicas gladly accepted it. Haha.I personally like to stay in the Zona Norte, where and most escort agencies don't send their girls there. Staying in Zona Norte gives me all 3 options: BGs, SGs, and (some) Escort services. I personally think other agencies are in cahoots with hotels outside Zona Norte, and If I am going to stay in Tijuana to have fun I am not going to sit around the hotel waiting for agency girls and have no other option if they are late or no shows. I just read too many complaints on this topic.
The only escort services allowing their girls in Zona Norte are: Queens, Foxys, and Live Latin Angels -- I have listed them in order of good service I have received. Queens had 2 cancellations on me but then they gave me a 300 peso discount and had an alternate girl within an hour. If you look at their web site in the rules section, they have rules and they adhere to them. Their girls give the full GFE experience and have great attitude. I have tried Pilar, Amanda (MILF) and Candela.
Also, with Mexican Peso taking a dive (20.42 peso / $ today! I would suggest using your ATM card or Western union to get money in Mexico and pay for everything in Pesos.
I have to give Musas agency more props. I wrote about Agatha early in the week and went back to see her today. I told them that I wasn't bringing my phone so had to coordinate via email. If you didn't do anything wrong maybe call them directly it's harder to ignore you with a direct call.
This is my main gripe with the escort agencies. The photos they post on their websites are heavily edited / airbrushed. Or often times of a different girl altogether. Nearly all the girls are significantly heavier or do not look anything like advertised. Yes you usually get GFE, but looks-wise it's a crapshoot.
I think I am going to take a break from the agencies, and go with the BGs, where I can see what I am getting.

So it will be obvious you are out of the country if they hear this.

I've received several PMs recently asking for recommendations.

Not really a correction but I would just add that within any agency, a particular girl might be slightly more or less expensive. The difference is never much but in my experience, I have received what I pay for, meaning the higher priced girls have led me to better experiences.
I've used (or at least tried to use) all of these agencies. My experiences:
Generally speaking, Musas has been more reliable.
CumInTJ and LindoBar are the easiest to work with / most responsive, along with a very wide selection.
AdultBaja. Never could get a girl to show up. Not particularly responsive either, though Ana is very friendly.
HotTijuana. This is odd, but I've found Tania's girls (that I've visited) to be better looking than their photos. Not sure what it is but some of those photos scare me.
GreysGirls. Communication with them is spotty. Sometimes very quick in response, others I never get a response.
Hot&Sexy. I've had pretty good luck. Not a huge fan of their response time. Have had some issues over a year ago. But I've had some home runs there. They also have a higher rate of best looking, which is obviously very subjective.

Great summary Dr Crist, would like to add a few pointers:
- Always pay in Pesos, it can easily make a difference of $10 -$15!

Within your right? I suppose it depends. If they send an entirely different girl, absolutely. You agreed to a certain girl, and they send another? Then they broke the agreement. As for looks: frankly, I haven't experienced that. Do agencies post flattering photos? Of course. Only once was I pretty disappointed in a girl's appearance. She looked like a 9 in photos and showed up as a 6 or so. Not surprising, this agency would not send a face photo.
I do think the agencies do like to please. The last thing they want is bad publicity. Right or wrong, some of these agencies sometimes go weeks or longer without seeing these girls.
Best advice: I think most agencies are understandable. If you push an issue, you always run the risk of burning that bridge. But if an agency is sending an entirely different girl, burn it! And report it! But my experience is that most agencies are fairly reasonable. The time they sent the 6, I sucked it up and went through with it. Unfortunately, her performance was a 6 as well. (She was just crazy and on something, I believe.) I paid, gave the agency my opinion and haven't even visited their site since. In that case, I learned a lesson. But I opted to go through with it because it was the same girl. I just didn't do enough homework.

The escorts who show up are more often than not older, heavier, uglier with higher mileage than their pics.
Bait and switch by escorts happened to me in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Argentina, Brazil ect, in fact everywhere in the world. I hate to waste time waiting in the hotel for the wrong girls to show up, hoping I would take them anyway.

Sorry to be late with this report. I was in Tijuana on Monday and Tuesday last week and stayed at the Ticuan. I had two girls from Mileroticos, one on each night; although they claimed to be independent on the site, they actually came from nameless agencies, I. E. , the girls I talked to on the phone were not the ones who showed up. Eva (664-498-8456) claimed to be 18 and a student. She was the girl in the photos, but heavier. She arrived in torn jeans and sandals. Looking very much like a student. We'd agreed on the phone to 1600 for 1. 5 hours, but when she got there it was 1900 (supposedly for the taxi), which I paid. In any case I had a thoroughly excellent experience. The DATY was excellent as she was not only responsive, but demanding. At my advanced age it takes awhile to get my nut, especially with a condom but Eva, although tiring, was a trouper. Four stars out of five (one off for the taxi fee).
