I got more than raised eyebrows when I come back to the hotel with no girl. The guys by the door would say: "Sir, no girl tonight?"

I'm staying at the Lewis Grand Hotel right now and Im very happy with this place. Its my first tome to AC so I know nothing about other hotels.

I registed for the least expensive room (Special King) that is not listed on their website. With the 10% discount for one week or longer it costs $49 a night. There are only a few of these rooms available and they are located on the ground floor wich has been great. Just step out of the room, walk down the hall and Im at the outside bar/ restaurant. Large TV at the bar and view to the pool. Staff are all cool. Bartender just passed me a load for my cell phone for free because he said he has unlimited minnutes.

I chatted with one of the owners of the hotel for about an hour today. He is a filipino american. Very cool guy and very customer focused. They just changed their whole food menu and everything has tasted great.

They offer a hotel driver for free anywhere to and from Fields ave. and over to SM Mall. The driver even took my girl back to her home that was further away for free. She would have had to take two trikes to get back home. I tipped him 100P.

Trikes to Fields cost 50P.

The owner upgraded me to one of the nicest rooms at hotel with no additional charge. Im having a great time!

The LG owner talked to me about that video of the pool party that was released. He said it turned out not to be a bad thing and sometimes bad publicity can be a good thing for business. He said "you know this is the red light district?"

LGH is opening a new property in AC. I dont know exactly where or what the name of it will be but they offered they offered to tour me arround and show me the property. I will be a mixed use property with Hotel Rooms and Condos sorta like a time share.

I may go check it out if I get bored.

Lewis Grand is a nice hotel. It's just the walk to Fields Avenue is to far. You'll have to take a trike. I stayed at the Pacific Breeze hotel last month and it's very close to the action but, the A/C in the room is too weak too cool the entire room. It takes a while until it gets cold. I agree with Stroker Ace88 in regards to the rooms. It's big and roomy but, the color and feel of the room don't feel cozy.

Are these hotels pretty cool about bringing women in?
Usually the receptionist gets upset and worried,
if you do NOT bring one or two girls in.
Often they do not allow you to enter your room alone, so they send you back
to Fields to get a girl first. :D

Don't know, never stayed in there but nothing to worry,
more than enough bars for a couple of days.

Enjoy!

Stayed at Lewis Grand in the first week of operation and they have come a long way since then! Anyway, I was wondering about the 'Special King' rooms. Do those rooms have any windows?

Bringing girls back to your hotel is considered a normal thing in Angeles City. That's what Angeles City is all about. So, if you pickup a girl(s) at a bar, just walk in the lobby, pickup your key at the front desk and head to your room.

I only stayed at the Pacific Breeze so far and it does have internet access via a Lan Line. They will supply a short 3 feet cat5 network cable to connect your notebook to the LAN jack on the wall. The in room safe is big. It can accommodate a full size laptop.

There's no need for a bar or nightclub in either of these 3 hotels. The bars and nightclub are really close. They are literally under a minute walk away to your nearest bar.

ThanksAs noted by others, all Hotels in AC are girl firendly. I've only stayed at the Swiss Chalet, and they do have a small Bar/restaurant attached but there are no girls there. You'll get a free drink coupon. I didn't have a laptop so I didn't try their Internet. The safes there seem too small to fit a big laptop in, but I could be wrong.

Swiss Chalet is very close to the action but still paradoxically very quiet for the most part. Take a right out of the lobby and in half a block you're in the heart of Fields Ave.

The other two are only slightly farther away, and with them you get to use a pool and apparently as noted the safes are much bigger. But for the 35 or 38$ a night I spent I got a full King bed and a tv with a lot of channels. (Girls will like to watch tv in the afternoons if you have a repeater, so having a few movie channels is nice in that regard.)

I will likely not repeat at Swiss Chalet, but only because I want something different on my next trip. I can heartly endorse it as a good place to stay, but remember I have limited experience. If I don't stay at either PB or CP next time, I'll likely be out on the Perimeter somewhere.

Good luck.

Okay cool. Well if any of you is there when I am, and would like to hang out or need a wingman. Let me know. I will be there from July 11 to 21 but will make AC about 3 of those days. Somewhere in the middle of my stay.

I'm making my first trip to ac, been living in Pattaya for 10 years and going to ac in sept, I would like opinions on these hotels, need wi fi pool and reasonable location, these 2 appear in my price range etc als brass knob looks ok. After the shock of hotel prices compared to patts anyway.

For a newbie to AC, I would lean towards Walkabout since it is in the middle of Fields. Donald Paul is adequate but is located on a side street that can get dodgy late at night. Brass Knob is nothing special and is up on Perimeter. Personally, I would recommend Central Park especially for newbies because the staff knows how to make your stay an enjoyable one!

I check out the room at the Walkabout their room is smaller very basic than central park and it can be very noisy at fields ,I like pacific breeze it is quiet area and much nicer room but is short walk from field but it cost more than walkabout and central park .

I cant comment on Walkabout but I have stayed at Don Paul a couple of times and find it fine. The wifi works pretty well, The owner is a bit eccentric but a pretty decent guy, the food is fine, its a couple of blocks from Fields but easy enough to walk there. Its oposite the health clinic so you will se every WG in AC walk by every couple of weeks.

I stayed at Lewis Grand Hotel for over 2-weeks on my recent visit to Phil.

Im not plugging this hotel for any reason other than I had a great time, the Hotel is first class for the area and the staff are accomidating and wonderful. This is the only hotel in Angeles that I have stayed in so I know nothing about other places other than what I read on this site.

You can see one of my previous reports on their un advertised "Special King Room" for about $49 after the 10% dicount for 1-week or longer. They will also apply the 10% on all of your Food and Drink if you belong to one of the local online blog sites. Cant remember wich one it is. I was able to finaggle the extra 10% without belonging.

I met one of the owners at the outside bar/ cafe on my 2nd day. We chatted for about 40 min and he was a cool guy. He grew up close to where I live in California so we had alot in common. He offered to move me to a nicer room for no additional charge. I took him up on it and ended up in their nicest room of the hotel for the rest of my visit for $49. Large room with rainfall shower and balcony overlooking the pool area. Very cool.

I used the walk in rainfall shower many times in my room. The girls loved it and it will fit 3 or 4 people at once. I had some fun times with the shower.

I always asked Housekeeping to supply extra towels for my room and they even brought them when I forgot to ask. I would also make a call to Housekeeping to freshen up my room an additional time when I went out and when I returned it was all taken care of.

This is a 24hr hotel so the Cafe/ Bar, Room Service, Pool Area and House Keeping are always available.

I was there for over two weeks so I became friends with everyone at the hotel. The Bartenders are Great!!! Richard makes the best drinks!!! He has guests that call ahead and make sure he is working before their visit. He will make any drink you want and its all first rate alcohol and if you want a strong one no prob. I loved the Long Island's. He makes them better than the other bartenders there. They will do anything to personaly accomodate you. One guy had his Protien mix bag at the bar and they would whip him up a special drink mix whenever he asked. Im sure if you English guys want to bring your own favorite tea or whatever you can just give it to them and they will make it up anytime you like.

About the Food. I have heard others complain that the food in AC is not good. The food at LGH is Great! They put together a new menu just before I arrived I found out. They have a mixture of Western, Filipino and a few Asian style dishes. I tried just about one of every thing on the menu.

The owner tries to make everything in house as to keep it fresh and custom. He told me if there was anything that was not on the menu that i wanted they would make it for me. I had them customize my dishes the way I liked many times after I learned the menu.
Since I was not hitting the bars but I was meeting with local women from the internet I used the Hotel bar and restaraunt for my meeting place. My bill at the end of the 2-weeks was a big one. This is not a discount Hotel but if you want to have a llittle luxury along with your sex visit this would be the place.

There is not much to do in Angeles durring the mid day when it is hot and you are recouporating from your previous night of drunken fun. I woke up late everyday and had a nice breakfast either in the room or down at the outdoor cafe overlooking the pool. Then went back to the room to take a nap and surf the internet and watch tv. Later I would hit the pool area for a refreshing time.

There is a swim up bar at the pool with two large flat screen Tv's where you can use the remote and watch whatever you want. You can ring the bell and someone will come down from the cafe and take your drink or food order.

They also offer a few cars and drivers for local drop off and pick up for free. It was a nice thing to just give them a ring at the hotel and they would send a airconditioned van to get you. I also had then drop off my girls I met to their homes if they lived fairly close. Only a few times they did not have a driver available and I had to grab a trike wich is a thrilling crazy expierience.

Also, the Hotel is not located right in the middle of the action but a few blocks away. I liked it for that reason. It was a 50P trike ride to fields ave. or the Hotel car can drop you.

I would stay at this Hotel again and would recomend to others that are not looking for the low end discount places.

ABC is expensive but the BEST. Kills everything else in AC. LG, the white house or the hospital (depending on your room, I guess) is close second but that is about it... The rest just don't do it for me. I guess I am kind of picky but part of the experience is the comfort and to me it is money well spend.

I am going to stay at LGH in the coming week. I have several questons to ask:

1) As the roomrate do not include breakfast. Is there any restaurant nearby if I don't want to have meal in the hotel?

2) Is it a walking distance from the hotel to Perimeter action?

3) Instead of the hotel car, Is it easy to get a tricle outside the hotel to Field Ave?

4) May I get a free hotel ride from the hotel to the casino in Clark?

Thank You !

1) The hotel has a restaurant at the swimming pool area and they offer breakfast there. In the 250-350ps range.

2) Yes, within 5 minutes walk you have a dozen bars.

3) Yes, walk outside and you'll hear someone shouting "trike, sir".

4) Dunno.

Cheers!

I have been looking at some of the web sites for various hotels and apartelles in Angeles City, and I am wondering about the discounts they give for long term stays. It seems that they will give only a 10-15% discount if you stay monthly. Can anyone advise if there are places that give a greater discount than that? It seems like kind of a wimpy discount if you ask me, or perhaps I am expecting too much of a price reduction. Is the 10-15% negotioable?Ezinho,

Try Don Paul apartelle they offer discount for long stay ,the room there is not very nice but ok ,if you are on a budget this is a good options .

Hi, could you advise on the Special King rooms at LGH?

How are they compared to, lets say, the rooms at Royal Amsterdam?

Tally Wacker
10-03-10, 15:42
I've never stayed at Royal Amsterdam but I did stay at LGH Special King Room.

The Special King Room at LGH rate was $49/night not including breakfast when I stayed there a few months ago. The Special King rooms are smaller rooms located on the ground floor very close to the outside bar. I think there are only two of these rooms. I stayed in room #104. Room is lacking a writing desk, bathtub and couch and are smaller in size compared to their other rooms. There is no balcony and the one window looks into the hallway not to the outside.

One of the owners moved me to the 4th. floor to one of the larger rooms for no additional charge and I personaly liked the smaller room better. The Special King has a huge walk-in shower unlike the other rooms wich have a small bathtub you need to step over to get into. I had much fun with girls in the larger rainfall shower.

Also being on the ground floor you will not have to use the slow elevators but you do get some noise comming from the outdoor bar late at night from loud drunk people comming back from a night of fun.

They give a 10% discount for 1-week or longer stay and it includes the food you eat there as well. Also I understand you can get a 10% discount if you belong to one of the websites that advertise the local businesses in AC.

I personaly would ask for the smaller Special King next time I stay there.

These rates were based on my stay a few months ago.

Special King W/ 10% Discount = $44. 00 / PHP 2050

Deluxe King W/ 10% Discount= $66. 00 / PHP 3105

I'm debating between the Royal Amsterdam or the Pacific Breeze. The RA seems like the best deal for my needs, but no pool. I'm not huge on swimming, but I figure the girl(s) may like it. Thoughts?

For myself, a pool is a must in a town like AC. It is a good place to relax and escape the heat in the middle of the day. You lounge around the pool side with a drink or two. What the hell. AC does not have much else going on during the early afternoon. Some guys like to hang out in the bars all day long and then all night. If this is you, then forget the pool. I chose my hotel in good part because it has a nice pool. I do the same thing when I am in Pat. That the girls may like the pool too and you can play with them in the water is an added incentive.

On my virgin trip to AC I stayed at Central Park on the recommendations of a buddy. Central Park itself doesn't have a pool, but its sister hotel Pacific Breeze does. If you stay at Central Park, you can ask for a VIP card to use Pacific Breeze pool free of charge.

So I did on my first trip. And same situation for my second trip. Thing is, for both trips, I spent so much time in the bars and in my room with the girls that I didn't have time for the pool. Never dipped a toe into it.

I am not that much of a pool guy anyway. Pacific Breeze's pool is not covered at all, so the sun is always beating down on you if you go for an afternoon swim.

So before you narrow down your hotel choices to those with pools, ask yourself if you are the type that actually needs one.

In AC theres not much to see or to do during the day. If you spend your night

In bars / gogos then take a girl for all personal action most probably you need some

Relaxing time in the afternoon, so lazing by the pool will be the perfect solution.

I been to the Orchid Inn previously & although their pool is small it was the

Perfect place for a dip / relax between 2-5pm.

I don't recommend staying at Wild Orchid.

It's over US$100 per night for balcony room, no breakfast, must request water, and don't give new toothbrushes unless you request. There is non-stop jackhammer noise from 12pm to 10pm, and will be for sometime as they are adding floors.

Pool is small and very near the dining area and the place next door( Mangos ) has a wide open view of it, so I would not expect to have much romantic moments in it with your girl.

This place is more low key than say Blue Rock. I did like the food and the bar/dining area upstairs was good. Good cable to watch between barfines.

Just spent 4 nights in Angeles City. I had booked 4 nights at Swiss Chalat but the room is so bad I had to check out after one night. They charge $20 peso for an extra towel too!!! However, beware!!! They wanted to chagre me 20% for the room for the remaining 3 nights. You got to be kiddy me!!! I complained fiercely and threatened to call Hans, the owner. They finally agreed not to charge me the 20%. I will never stay there again.
Moved to Blue Nile and it was even worst. No frige, not safe and the wireless reception was so weak it is frustrating. The show is so small it can hardly accommodate two persons. We always want to show with our girl together, don't we?! Never stay there again.
Look like the Amsterdam is better. I need at least a clean room, good shower, good wireless reception, an in-room safe and please provide us with extra clean towels. I wouldn't mind paying between $50-60 US a night for such a room.

I stayed at the Lewis Grand Special King room for $40 a night and the shower is big enough for 5 but they only have a few of those rooms and you need to book early I think. Check it out. They quoted me $49 for Special King. I think last year or maybe 2 years ago it was $39. Did I get a wrong quote or is your info old?

Had my first trip to AC last week. It was a short trip, only 3 nights, so I didn't try to hook up with any ISG members. I was busy trying to hook up my own member ;-)

Stayed at the Savannah in one of the Executive Suite rooms. Pics are attached. Price was Php 4,800 per night. A bit on the high side, but since it was a short stay I wanted a nice room, and I got it.

The exec suites have a small lounge area that is separate from the bedroom. There is no door separating them, but the couch is facing away, so it gives a bit of privacy. It would have been nice to have a TV in the lounge as well as the bedroom, but there was only one TV and it was facing the bed.

The pool was pretty nice. Initially I was debating about whether I cared about having a pool or not, but now I am glad I choose one with the pool as I spent at least an hour out there every day with the girls. Also gave me the chance to put my new Sanyo VPC CA-102 to the test (will post underwater pics later).

The staff was always friendly and helpful. No second glances when I brought 3 girls back, they just handed me extra towels.

Food was decent. I don't think there is anything 5-star in AC, but it was not bad by any means.

You do have to pay up front here, which I found a little odd, but you do have the option to pay just one night at a time. I was fine with this. I paid in cash, no ID or passport asked for, so completely anonymous...I even reserved the room using an anonymous Visa gift card I picked up and loaded with a few hundred bucks back in the states.

Two minor gripes. First, no shampoo in the rooms. What is up with that? Much cheaper hotels fork out for the small travel size bottles each night, why can't they? Anyway, a quick trip to SM fixed that. There is also a 7-11 next door that probably had some as well. Second gripe is that your room key also turns on the power in the room, which means that when you leave the power goes off. It was a minor inconvenience, as I wanted to charge my laptop while I was at the mall, but oh well.

Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would repeat. Yes, it is a bit far from fields, but I never found it to be a problem. They always had a driver available to take you there, and I usually just grabbed a trike for 100 pesos for me and the ladies to get back. I even made the walk a couple times during daylight. Takes about 20 minutes if you do a straight march, but why would you with all those pretty little distractions along perimeter ;-) Would not recommend doing that walk at night though.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Could you please tell us what your complaint was at Swiss Chalet. I once had the suite upstairs. The jacuzzzi wasn't interesting, and there were some signs of wear and tear. Neverhtheless it was a very beautiful room for taking pictures with guests.

Just spent 4 nights in Angeles City. I had booked 4 nights at Swiss Chalat but the room is so bad I had to check out after one night. They charge $20 peso for an extra towel too! However, beware! They wanted to chagre me 20% for the room for the remaining 3 nights. You got to be kiddy me! I complained fiercely and threatened to call Hans, the owner. They finally agreed not to charge me the 20. I will never stay there again.

Moved to Blue Nile and it was even worst. No frige, not safe and the wireless reception was so weak it is frustrating. The show is so small it can hardly accommodate two persons. We always want to show with our girl together, don't we? Never stay there again.

Look like the Amsterdam is better. I need at least a clean room, good shower, good wireless reception, an in-room safe and please provide us with extra clean towels. I wouldn't mind paying between $50-60 US a night for such a room.

The towel thing. Listen, buy yourself some creature comforts. The towels at most of the asian hotels are shit. Thin, and not much bigger than a rag. Most foreigners are larger. Either bring a nice big bath towel from home, or go to the mall on your first day in-country and spend $5 to buy one. That leaves the two hotel towels (rags) for my guests. Say, for example, you check in on Monday, with a Saturday departure. Use your towel mon-Friday. Friday morning take all your laundry (towel included) and have it laundered. Use the hotel towel on Saturday, and go pick up your laundry in the morning before departing AC (towel is clean / dry). Do the same with bar soap, pick up a real soap bar from the mall. I hate those tiny hotel soaps. I grab a new one in each new city.

Regarding laundry. I'm still amazed that I can get 5-6 days laundry done overnight for $3 in asia. If you want it faster, ask them. If you drop it off before noon, most places are willing to rush yours and get it done that day before they close in the early evening. I remember this conversation once in Malate:

Me: can you get it done today?

Lady: what time?

Me: closing time (she called another lady over and they talked)

Lady: yes. But extra charge (original charge was p90)

Me: how much?

Lady: p40 more. Ok to that?

Me: hahaha. P200 total. You ok to THAT?

Criminy. An extra dollar to get a rush job. Ever since, I've always dropped it off in the morning, offered p100 extra for rush. Rarely is the total more than p250, and its ready by 6pm, and never have I been turned down for the rush.

When arriving at 4 am most hotels don't allow you to check in until 12pm or you have to reserve for the whole day before to ensure you got a room upon arrival.

Has anybody crashed in a short time hotel in AC after arriving early in the morning then transfering to a regular hotel?

What short time hotel would you recommend? Is this a bit risky being that you're just off the plane, tired and with valuables?

Always 20-40 pesos to the maid per day does wonders. Royal Amsterdam definitely has some nice towels. They also have a good policy of extra towels without charge (if you have multiple sessions or multiple girls).

But a warning: If you stain the large towel, and if it won't wash out, they will charge you 500 pesos.

I looked at the standard room at Apartelle Royal. It was OK; not as nice as the Royal Amsterdam.

The place is above the Camelot go-go bar (http://www.apartelleroyal.com/). The bed was decent. OK location on Fields. Free wi-fi.

Never stayed there before, so not sure how noisy it will get, or more importantly how long the noise will last.

If you get lucky, your hotel will allow you to check in early.

Some hotels like Royal Amsterdam will gurantee an early check-in for a charge (less than a full day charge). But the Royal Amsterdam hotel will also allow you to check in early if the guest leaves early from your scheduled room.

If you're staying at the Amsterdam, you can crash at the leather couch in the lobby.

What I normally do is I leave my luggage at my hotel, keep my valuables with me, and then I hang out for a few hours at the Dollhouse go-go bar; the Dollhouse is open 24 hours. Then I go eat somewhere, and then I check in.

There was no noise coming from Camelot. However the noise was coming from other places in the neighbourhood. Any of the fields avenue hotels always have the noise factor. Noise really does not bother me.

Headed to AC early next year for stay over 30 days. Looking for information the quality of Elben Villas and Townhouses or DM Residente Villas?

Also looking for other possible long-term stay options.

I have stayed at the Wild Orchid and Royal Amsterdam and enjoyed both hotels. But both stays were for less than a week.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks in advance. Not sure if you want a pool but I think most of the hotels would offer you a discount if you booked for 30 days. Unfortunately, places like Pacific Breeze is so busy that they might not have availability or you may have to change rooms a lot.

I enjoyed my stay at the Medgar Executive Apartelle, they seem to cater to long staying clients and they have decent broadband internet but no pool. Not the closest to the action but only about a 10 minute walk to Margarita Station.

And at least once a visit. I kid you not. I get a gal who asks to borrow a comb or brush. This strikes me as a bit odd since I have no hair. At least not on my head. What does a bald guy say when a bushy black haired gal asks for a comb? I just smile. But surely there is a good comeback. Maybe the stunted cunning one can share some of his with. X.

I was only worried how far it is from the real action. Some people said far, others said not so far.

In terms of minutes walk, assuming that Field Avenue is the correct place to be, how far is that? Or are there actually better places closer by?

So for you what is the better? Thanks.

Just stayed at the Orchid for 4 nights (standard room). The room was plain but very clean with comfortable bed. Bathroom shower small but I can live with that. Staff was ALWAYS very helpful and friendly and it was close and convenient to everything.

This was the only place I stayed in AC and would probably stay again. My only concern is that the water (shower) had somewhat of a bad or pungent smell. I even broke out in a rash (although I cannot confirm it was from this). Any other thoughts or problems about this in Angeles? Obviously, as in Thailand, I drink NOTHING but bottled water.

Never stayed at LG, but I like the location between the Perimter bars, which open earlier, and the Fields bars, which usually are more exciting. How much do you usually pay? I've stayed at America hotel (near the LG) but I would only recommend the better rooms at the back, and they are often fully booked.

To be honest, I've walked from Clarkton all the way to the end of the strip several times. A couple times I was so exhausted with my exploration (and drinking) that I retired early and didn't get to enjoy the most interesting exercise of all at AC, which of course is.

Although I don't really like to stay there because somehow I don't think that the rooms are worth a hundred bucks a day.

You can use the pool there anytime even if you are not a guest, just got to pay 500 pesos which goes to your credit while you are there. So its nothing really if you drink or eat something it the 500 pesos is no problem.

The best pool atmosphere I would have to go with ABC.

Ok, I RFF-ed, and it appears the LG is actually the most luxurious option? (Yes, I prefer to bonk luxuriously.)

I was only worried how far it is from the real action. Some people said far, others said not so far.

In terms of minutes walk, assuming that Field Avenue is the correct place to be, how far is that? Or are there actually better places closer by? Location of Lewis Grand Hotel. Look at map below, and it's located on the +

Guys.

I am going to be staying in AC for 4-5 days in July, it is my first ever visit to AC. I need a hotel that won't give me any hassles if I have three women staying overnight in the room, I realise that I will need to pay for additional breakfasts but don't want to get stung for paying extra for two additional guests each night. Any options or advice greatly appreciated, you can PM if you prefer.

Regards.

MortmanYou're going to love this answer: ALL OF THEM. The only hard part is finding one with a large enough bed. Not a single AC hotel has cared how many girls I've brought in for the night. On the other hand, none have provided an inclusive breakfast, so you are paying for the pricey breakfast for yourself and each guest. Bring in 3 girls for the night and you are paying for 4 breakfasts in the morning. In a double bed I find one pinay enough; in a queen two girls is plenty, anything after that is cramped.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yes I agree that four people sleeping together in one bed would be uncomfortable but I would like to find a room that has the two queen size beds in one room, many of the hotels in Cebu that I stay in have this kind of set up. That way I can climb into the bed of whichever one takes my fancy.

I am assuming from your replies that breakfasts for two people are not normally included in the price of the hotel which seems at odds with the rest of the Philippines?

I will spend some time reading through the posts over the next week or so to try and identify a well located hotel with pool, but at least you have put my mind at rest. I didn't want to turn up with my three companions and have complaints that the room is only for two people.

What I recommend is ABC or LGH which have large enough bed for 4. Take a look at their websites you should be able to see. I have done it few times and its comfortable. As for breakfast, hardly anyone is up for it at AC.

I was at the abc couple of weeks ago, the new pool will be amazing. Just wait for it, some of the rooms in the new building have outdoor jacuzzi that are the size of small private pools, the rooms are larger, and different shapes, the bed will have lights changing colors for ambiance and few other features. Really impressive stuff, I hope its all done by August for my next visit.

I don't think any hotel in AC has the 2 queen bed set up you are talking about.I was referring to one bed, and standard US mattress sizes. In the US there are typically four sizes:

+ Twin size (sometimes called a single, or child, bunk, or bedspacer in phils) at 39x75".

+ Full size (sometimes called a double, which is found at Motel 6 in States, and often in SE Asia) at 54x75". This is the size I was referring to.

+ Queen size at 60x80".

+ King size at 76x80".

There are other sizes in between and larger.

As for breakfast, hardly anyone is up for it at AC.I don't take bargirls for LT unless they agree to 10am while still in the bar. I specifically like taking them to breakfast at Kok's or in the hotel restraunt. I've only had a few runners total, ever. On the other hand I was chatting a guy at Kok's one afternoon and over ice tea he shared that in his 4 weeks in AC, every single girl had run before sunup (he assumed that it was S. O. P.). Amazing how some of us are having wildly different experiences.

I will be staying in AC in July and am looking at a few hotels in the Perimeter area. I did send some of them some questions and they all seemed to either not understand the questions or not know the hotel. For example, I asked about charges for bringing in 2 girls at once and one hotel said they would charge for a cot and the other said I would have to ask on check-in. WTF? I won't need a cot for my threesome (kind of defeats the purpose) and I don't want to ask on check-in. That is why I sent you the freaking email! Ah, the Filipine business system. On my last trip I stayed at Kokomos and it was adequate. I did not like the fact that my room had no real window and that it was pricey at 1800 PHP but I did like the location and the restaurant (including my 10% discount for staying there) and their Sunday pool parties.

I think on this next trip I will spend more time down in Perimeter. I am lamenting the fact that I never did try the Santos bars when I was at Mo's and being further down Perimeter will make this a little bit more of an effort but it will probably only be once or twice anyway and I would rather be close to my main action which I think will be Perimeter.

I am considering three bars and would appreciate any feedback from former visitors or anyone at least familiar with the hotels.

1. Sunset Garden. The price is good (1290 / day weekly rate). I like the location too as it is not too far from Santos and close to the heart of Perimeter. Does anyone know if they have an entrance on Perimeter or just Malabanas? Their menu on paper does not appeal to me as much as Mo's did and it appears to be a little pricier even without the discount I got at Mo's so this would eat into my 510 savings per day.

2. Perimeter Hotel. Also a good location right above Emotions / Touch of Class in the middle of Perimeter. They do not have much of a website so I could not see their in-house menu. I know that Perimeter / Fields is not that large and it is no trouble walking around to go to restaurants but when I return home or for a breakfast with my friend for the night it is just easier to eat in the hotel or just one or two doors away. Also a good rate at 1200 / night.

3. Blue Boar Inn. The cheapest of the 3 at only 850 / night weekly for an air conditioned room. It is the farthest from Fields but the closest to the Lost in Asia area that I would also like to sample. No pool but that is ok.

So any input? My criteria is I need a comfortable, safe room. It does not have to be fancy by any stretch. It does not even need to be that quiet as I am a pretty sound sleeper. I would like there to be a decent restaurant in house or nearby. I am a burger / steak guy and would not mind some Filipino or Thai food mixed in. I will probably book one of these hotels for a week and then check the other ones out while I am there and possibly change for the second week.

The America Hotel also looks like a good value and location but on my last trip when I mentioned this hotel the two girls I was talking to got very nervous due to the supposed ghosts there. I do like the naive girls so I think I will unfortunately cross that one off of my list of possibilities.

Thanks.

Just spent a week there, my third stay in 2 years.

I still think it is a great hotel to stay in, despite price tag. They have a new wing opening end of next month.

Positives great bathroom, huge beds, lots of towels, X-rated channels on TV, room make-up late afternoon, free courtesy car around town, late check-out.

Negatives, not many, building 1 has no lift, not much fun when on floor 4, restaurant overpriced, some dishes and drinks not very well delivered eg latte's not hot, fresh orange juice 225 peso's!

I always book a double room anywhere I go in the Phils. It means you usually get a big bed, it helps to avoid ANY sort of dispute re an extra visitor, it provides the extra towels, and it gives you 2 breakfasts too. The price differential is usually minimal even in 5 star hotels.

If there is any hassle about an extra person (ie a third one) then just pay the joiner fee and be done with it.

I always think guys who book a single room then insist on having a big bed and extra towels etc are pushing the limits unless the hotel is desperate for business and waives your costs.

Ask yourself how you would feel if you owned the hotel?

It's sort of like rocking up to a sports event with one ticket and expecting your friend to come in with you free. I said "sort of" because your friend is not costing the event anything except lost income. With the guest in the hotel room she is using towels etc that have to be washed.

If you are referring to my post RK I think you have missed my point. I only ever stay in double rooms in fact it is news to me that you can even book single rooms and I am not trying to save money or to screw over the hotel. The point I am trying to make is that unless you get a family suite, most rooms are really only bookable for two adults (especially if it has one bed) and I have two extra women in tow for my stay in Angeles City (meaning four adults). If I was to try and book a room for four adults then most hotels would not have a room designed to accomodate four people. Even family suites are designed usually for two adults and a couple of kids. So I am willing to compromise a little on comfort and space, providing the hotel itself does not cause problems if they see me bringing extra guests to stay. If I can get a room and pay up front for four, then I would rather do that then encounter problems as I am checking in. I could pay for two rooms but then that defeats the whole object.
I often wonder how locals get away with sleeping the entire family, plus uncles, aunts, neices and nephews all in one hotel room, not that I am advocating that for myself!............... M

The points that you make are also valid. Just to clear that up. I could PM you but better it is more open here.

Just some extra information. My work involves running seminars/workshops etc for government agencies. When we book hotels in various places (iloilo, Baguio, Davao, Subic etc) it is always possible to get extra beds etc in each room because filipinos like to squeeze as many in as possible. I have seen 5 beds in one room.
I also noted last time I stayed in Parklane in Cebu that I was in a room with 2 queen size beds. Good for 4. I also noticed on another occasion in Davao that my room had a connecting door (family-style room). It might be possible as a compromise to get 2 rooms with free access between both if you cannot get 2 queen size beds.
Beverley Boutique Hotel in Cebu (formerly Eddies) has superior rooms that also have 2 double beds in the room.
I dont know about AC but if these options exist in other places then worth being upfront about asking when you book or book in.

The price isn't crazy, either.

If you want all 4 in one bed, the ABC hotel has rooms that might work at 5x the price of the Walkabout.

Sunset Garden has a great pool, an above average restaurant, clean rooms, and walang problema with the threesomes; just make sure the girls have their bar Id's with them. If you want to go to LIA, catch the yellow jeep across from Petron Gas Station: 7 pesos. Just tell the driver to let you off at the Clarkton Hotel (LIA is next door) , or keep an eye out for the Clarkton and yell "para" (stop) when you see it.

I did find Perimeter's menu.

And it looks good to me with burgers, steak sandwiches for between 150 and 200 pesos but emails to them bounce.

You could find yourself moving around from hotel to hotel every couple of days for your entire trip: too much of a hassle for me.Took Doc's advice and reserved over the phone just for one night before I left Makati, but extended this morning as I had a regular come to me quite late. She had her two cousins in tow so definitely no problem with multiple guests. As Doc said, pool & food are good, also bed (king) is comfortable (just sheets provided however) , AC is fine; and also on the plus side they confirmed all was ok when each of my guests left today, which I like. On the negative, the rooms are a bit low end, more 1 star than 2 but about 36 sq M +, walk in shower (a little grotty, but ok) , no real external windows in the room I was in, and dismal lighting with a central incandescent and an over sink fluorescent. As I need to get 6. 8 hours work done per day, I was not fully comfortable with the set up. Also staff forgot to clean / refresh room today and I was told when I got back it was too late? They had all gone home and it took them an hour then to bring fresh towels. There is a no smoking policy it seems, and oddly a note that plugging in guest electrical items is prohibited? (ignored that one). All in all it is good value if you are happy with the room and are booking for a term. 1,290 I think the weekly rate, you might even do better as a repeat. It is what it is for 30 or 35 US per night. Everything you need is close enough near, and staff are more than helpful (on everything but cleaning the room it seems). Met a few long term guests here when I arrived, and they were also very helpful as it is my first time here (though I think AC is somewhat self explanatory after reading the forum). Did not try the wifi as I am using a smart bro stick. Excellent value BTW. Was 1, 245 to buy with five days free, and so far 50 php per day for unlimited, has been handy to have for travelling down time as this is my second time in phils since June. Will try PB or the like tomorrow depending.

After staying at both hotels I have to say Lewis Grand hotel far exceeds Angeles Beach Club. If you really want that bordello feel than obviously you have to go with ABC. But for half the price I am much happier with Lewis Grand than when I stayed at ABC. Even if I take away all the problems like pipe breaking and needing to switch rooms at 3AM, getting charged for a condom while my non working girlfriend was checking out with me and knowing for sure I didn't use it with any girls and her knowing I didn't use it with her, I was not very happy about that. They need to keep better stock lists. The place has moldy type smells that change all over. The prices are way too high, room, food, spa, helicopter, everything is out of line with the area. The only thing I felt was better was the employees, except for their inability to handle a problem situation. They were so friendly and all remembered my name. The food at the LGH is 1/3 or less and is much much better, I just had the best calamari in my life this morning for like $5. Internet is consistent at LGH where at ABC it only worked for first hour. At 85$ compared to $150 I think LGH is the obvious choice. I would suggest anyone give it a shot for one night, and if wanting something cheaper check out the food. I can't wait to try the next thing, everything so far has been delicious. I don't really like ABCs decoration style, love the bathrooms there but everything else is a little ghetto to me. But if you take that away still with all the minor problems and the much higher rates the decision would still be LGH. I only wish they could get some of the front desk girls and door men because they were some of the best I've seen, two in particular I would hire for my company in a second. I will be offering one a job before I leave.

. Sunset Garden is the best by far. I have stayed there many times: excellent value, and yes, there is no entrance on Perimeter, only on Malabanas.Been there maybe a year ago. Maybe just isolated incidence but the floor was still very sandy after cleaning. Do they now accept credit cards?

Sunset Garden has a great pool.I agree. Closest to real swimming pool not just soaking your bones.

Germans favor this hotel if it has any meaning to anyone.

I am staying at the Sunset Garden at the moment my first time in AC. I think all the rooms face out onto the main road and it is certainly the nosiest hotel I have ever stayed in, the traffic and motorcycles often sound like they are in the room themselves. Room service is efficient but the hotel towels are threadbare and badly stained. Room itself is a bit tired but clean and functional.

Food is of a good standard and as reported before the pool is large and good enough to swim properly. There is a gym though it has seen better days and it lacks cardio machines. But if you are into weights and need something to tide you over for a few days it will probably be ok. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

No wifi in the rooms but the bar and restaraunt area has good wireless connectivity which is free for guests of the hotel.

On my first night there it was a bit surreal walking up the steps to the first floor to be greeted by bats, whizzing up and down the corridoor (which is open air) hunting for their nightly meal of insects. Have never experienced that in a hotel before!

This morning we were having breakfast and the largest rat I have ever seen (I swear to God) ambled across the courtyard by the pool as if it was taking a leisurely stroll. I called out to the waitresses and pointed out the rat as it disappeared around the wall by the pool table. The waitress came to my table and told me that it was a small rat and they get much bigger than that. Obviously the UK rats are much smaller than their cousins in the Philippines.

I like the location of the hotel, close enough to walk to Fields and also a very short walk to the other bars in Perimeter Road. I was beginning to have second thoughts about coming here as a few friends had warned me about robberies of foreigners especially along Perimeter Road at night. As I was flying over from Cebu I met a nice American guy and his wife on the plane. He added to my worries when he told me he had been robbed at gunpoint across from my hotel one night, but I decided not to let this spoil my trip and I just decided to remain alert at all times. Walked back late last without any problems, but with my senses fully alert.

I am paying 2100 for a family room, but there are cheaper options available if you stay longer and also if you take a double room. Would I stay here again? To be honest I am undecided, I like some of the hotel's qualities but I am finding it hard to get any sleep with the constant noise of traffic in the room at night. I may consider paying more and getting a room elsewhere that is not so noisy and more modern. Since I am only here for three nights it will do me for now.

Side of the hotel; when I stay there, I get there early in the afternoon and ask for a room on the Malabanias Road. Side of the hotel which is not nearly as noisy. I only once had to take a room on the Perimeter Road. Side, and even though it was very noisy (as you stated) , I got used to it after a couple of days and didn't transfer to another room.

However, I must say I have never seen either a rat or a bat in the many years I've been staying there. As you said, the hotel itself is quite clean despite being an aged facility. Overall, I think for the price for a standard room p1, 180 (discounted for staying at least a week) is good value. The place is not perfect, but you are not going to get much better in the Phils unless you choose a more upscale hotel.

My room is on the Malabanias side (I didn't know the name of it until I saw your post) situated on the right of the pool as you view it from the open air restaraunt. I still find it very very noisy (I am on the upper floor) but am only here for one more night so will just live with it for now. It is the mororbikes that seem to be the worst culprits and the noise seems to echo through the room every time they pass by.

Actually the rat doesn't bother me at all, I have seen them at much more up scale establishments, I just commented on it because it was so funny how it didn't scurry away, but just took its time without any hurry at all. As for the bats, well I don't think that is any reflection on the cleanliness of the hotel, I just thought it was amazing to see these creatures in such close proximity. In fact when we returned to the room on the very first night, there was a bat taking a rest from its nights foray and it was hanging upside down on the ceiling not far from the room. People would pay good money to see a sight like that at close hand!

When I said at the opposite end to the restaurant, I mean the part of the complex where the two sides of the buildings converge into a narrower point, the part that faces onto the Caltrex Gasoline Station. Just ask reception next time you are there!

Morty, I always enjoy your posts.

Back in 1980, my first trip to Philppines in Olongapo city courtesy of USN, I was spending the night with a gal who had a pretty nice place. Knowing what I know now, she had a sponsor or two. It was a large studio with the bed area (her office?) seperated from the dining area by some light curtains. Anyway, I wake up to some noise. I notice a big rate lounging on the kitchen counter in the dim light.

I woke up the girl and I think I suggested throwing something at it. Her response,"don't scare it, it might break some dishes." It was probably me she thought would break the dishes, but I was pretty freaked out. She went back to sleep. X.

In my experience if I could find Rooms 8, 9 and 10 then probably Room 11 (and the gym) would be in close proximity.

I think they need to get their act together as this is not a way to do business, especially a hotel, If someone knows the boss please tell him to give staff a wake up call.

I finally gave up last week and made reservation at another hotel. Last night, I got a response from Sunset that my reservation has been "confirmed." I advised them to cancel my reservation since they had been so late in getting back to me that I found accommodation elsewhere. After this experience, I'm not sure that I'd feel comfortable staying there if that's the way they operate their business or there's something else going on there that has made guest reservations a low priority. I would be fearful of staying at a hotel that has guest reservations as a low priority.

On my previous trip to AC I stayed at the Savannah. I reserved the room under a pseudonym using a pre-paid credit card (aka gift card) number, then paid cash in advance for my entire stay on arrival. They never asked for ID of any kind (a printout of my reservation confirmation was sufficient) , thus there is no record of me ever staying in AC. I kind of like that, given that there is pretty much only one reason why a middle aged man would go to AC, and the ease at which supposedly "private" information can end up public at some point through error or malice.

However, the one thing I did not like about the Savannah was the location. While it was not absurdly far from fields, it certainly was not what I would call close. It was walkable in the daytime, but I would not walk at night due to the sketchiness of Perimeter in general.

So, are any of the hotels closer to the action pseudonym friendly? I was hoping to try the Pacific Breeze or another such hotel with a decent pool.

Anybody have any info on Kokomo's hotel? Their website advertised large bedside mirror, disco lights in the room, and dance table (maybe with stripper pole). I see in movies they have kama sutra suites where there's water bed, vibrating bed, red ambient lights, mirror on ceilings. Haven't seen anything like that in real life, so this kokomos is the closest thing. I want to be a rock star / porn star for couple days.

I read every post in this thread and didn't see anything on Kokomos. Seems like Pacific Breeze is the recommendation from what I read in terms of price, service, room quality and location.

I'm travelling around Asia for a few months and am thinking of dropping in to AC for my first visit there towards end of October. After reading some reports in this thread I've narrowed my choices to Lewis Grand and ABC.

Submitted an availability check / enquiry on the Lewis Grand website but haven't heard from anyone in days (except for an automated email saying someone will contact me).

Anyone know if ABC is better or as good than the Lewis Grand?

I'm travelling around Asia for a few months and am thinking of dropping in to AC for my first visit there towards end of October. After reading some reports in this thread I've narrowed my choices to Lewis Grand and ABC.Anyone know if ABC is better or as good than the Lewis Grand?ABC pros:

*ABC is a very good hotel geared totally to the punter's needs.

*Rooms are large.

*Bathrooms spotless.

*The staff is remarkably friendly and helpful.

*The pool girls are a treat.

*The location is perfect for Fields.

*The Hotel is very responsive to reservation inquiries or anything else.

ABC cons:

*It is expensive.

*The pool. While it looks good in the pictures, it is actually not that good IMHO. It is kind of small and being surrounded on all sides by the hotel feels hemmed in. There is very little direct sun in this pool area.

*The restaurant is adequate at best yet very expensive.

Lewis pros:

*Lewis Grand is a very good hotel.

*The rooms while not as ornate as ABC are comfortable and clean.

*Lewis is a little less expensive.

*Their pool is great!

*The Avenue Restaurant is better than the one at ABC.

Lewis cons:

*Location is not as good as ABC. I would not recommend walking from the Fields bars back to the hotel at night. In fact the Lewis is kind of isolated out there on Perimeter if you ask me.

*The hotel is not 100% geared towards punters the way ABC is.

*Lewis hotel a little less responsive to requests than ABC.

So the 64 million peso question: where do I stay when I am in AC? I have stayed at ABC and Lewis on different trips and I like them both. I like the Lewis Pool. I like ABC's location and atmosphere. That is what stands out in my mind. One other high end hotel to consider is the Wild Orchid. The Wild Orchid is a little cheaper than ABC or Lewis, has a great pool, and is closer to the action than the Lewis. The rooms are not quite as good however, but still very acceptable. So my recommendation is probably to stay at ABC for your cherry trip to AC although I know you will have a good time staying at any one of the hotels I mentioned above.

These two hotels aren't in the same league so it's hard to decipher what you are looking for. If you are staying for awhile, just book one that seems to fit your desires, and change it if you want later when you see it in person and stop stressing it. If you book Pacific Breeze, I doubt you're going to be disappointed with staying there. I think there is a lot higher chance, you won't like staying at Kokomo's though but I'm not going to bother detailing why. It all depends on how much you want to spend and what's important to you.

The rooms I saw are kind of cool / freaky / whatever. Many don't have windows, which is a deal killer for me. If you expect to swim for exercise, it isn't a good pool. It is a good pool if you need a quick dip to cool off or enjoy a pool show. I met a buddy there and the three girls (in the first part of the pool party) were average, we walked over to the Wild Orchid pool and they had a full on multi bar party that was. Interesting. Pictures were included a while back.

Another feature is that there is a nearby bar / go / go which has girls who will wander out to the pool on their break time.

My friend was a kokomo regular, so maybe that explains a few things, but we were able to get a very good deal for a Mt. Pinatubo excursion. Some travel professionals will work hard with other travel professionals to get you a group and a good price. Kokomos is one of those places. And I do agree with Edward that the food is. Umm, mediocre.

I am planning on traveling to the PI in the future, April or May, for many reasons. I have a question for those who now live in or around the area of Angeles City and Subic Bay. I am interested in studying Tai Chi and or other styles of Martial Arts. Are there any schools, instructors or classes in or around there? Thanks for any info.

I too am likely going to stay at ABC. Mostly because of the rooms atmosphere. They are pricey but close and luxurious. And I really enjoy having a jacuzzi in my room, and the atmosphere lighting really blows me away. Thanks everyone for all the information and advice. Ya'll are so cool. What a great Forum. PB:

Recently got back from a short stay at the Pacific Breeze hotel, so thought I would post a detailed review.

Flew into Manila shortly after a typhoon flooded parts of the city. I was worried that the Pacific Breeze driver either would not be able to make it to the airport, or that we would be stuck there unable to leave, but everything was fine. I was one of the first 10 people through customs and the driver was there waiting and recognized me from the description I sent the hotel previously. The route we took had no flooding, and I was in Angeles City 1 hour and 45 minutes after exiting the airport.

Check in was a breeze, and I was in my "Poolside Jacuzzi" room 5 minutes later, and out bar-hopping after a quick shower. Will post details in the Angeles City thread. Anyway, on to the hotel review.

-
The Good Stuff.

The Pacific Breeze had the most reliable internet access I have ever had in the Philippines. I never once had to break out the SmartBro. Big improvement over the experience I had at the Savannah, where I never got the hotel internet working. This is the only hotel aside from the Dusit Thani in Makati where I felt I could actually get work done. Seriously considering a telecumuting trip soon ;)

Nice Jacuzzi, perfect size for one burly westerner and a tiny Filipina (possibly two). They even provide candles for the romantic touch. Unlike the Savannah, the Jacuzzi is in the bedroom vs. The bathroom. I was concerned about this at first, but I must admit it was very convenient when my girl said she was ready to play and 10 seconds later I tossed her on the bed.

Absolutely fantastic staff. They never turned down a request, and I am sure my "busy schedule" tested them to their limits. Even the front desk staff helped make up my room when I asked for a cleanup after the housekeepers had left for the day, and I am pretty sure the doorman had an unprompted talk with a street hawker who kept annoying me as the problem went away after he witnessed it a couple times. I tipped them all when I left, as they deserved it.

Location, location, location. Walk out the door, turn right at Santos, walk a block and you are on fields. However, it is just far enough away to escape the noise. Only downside here is that it might be too close, as you walk past many of the same bars and girls that you saw on previous days, even though you may be looking for someone different today.

The So So.

Food was decent, but not great. I only had breakfast and a couple afternoon appetizers, and the quality was about what I would expect from a restaurant attached to mid-range business hotel. Tasty but far from fine dining. The only real good meal I had in AC was at the Angeles Beach Club (was walking by while hungry) where I got the Sunday lunch special for 500 pesos and I was blown away by the quality and presentation they provided for that price (carpaccio appetizer, sliced steak on a bed of sauteed onions and roasted potatoes for the main course, etc.). I wish I had brought my camera to the ABC restaurant. No point in taking a picture of the Pacific Breeze presentation, nothing special there.

Hot water was slow in the morning. Be prepared to wait up to 5 minutes before you get something you can shower or fill the Jacuzzi with. However, once it started flowing it was hot and stayed that way.

Like many hotels in AC, they don't provide much in the way of free toiletries. A couple tiny bars of soap is about it, no shampoo, conditioner, body wash or even wash cloths. Be prepared to either bring your own, buy their "mini-bar toiletries" or better yet just run to SM and stock up in the morning while most of the bars are closed. No laundry bags either.

The bed was just ok. Not uncomfortable, but not super comfy either. That's the one thing I really missed about the Savannah, the bed there was fantastic.

The Truly Disappointing.

The only serious issue for me was the lighting. The small framed glass door leading to the balcony provided the only natural light in the room. No other windows at all. And while the violet room lighting makes for a nice romantic effect, it is horrible for pictures or video. The only pics of mine that turned out good were taken with the flash, and the two girl video I took (with advance permission of course) is barely watchable. This is the only thing that would make me seriously consider another hotel on my next visit; I need better windows or I need to lug along some artificial lighting.

-
Final Recommendation

If lots of natural light is not a concern of yours, then I would highly recommend the Pacific Breeze. I had a wonderful stay even though my attempt at a good girl-girl video was foiled. If natural light is a must for you, consider the Savannah as it had nice wide windows (that's the only other AC hotel I have stayed at).

Nice detailed review. One thing I would recommend is checking the internet connection right after you check in. I flew into Clark and got in around 11PM so after I checked in, I showered and hit the bars. It wasn't until the next day that I discovered that the internet did not work in my room. It was a real pain repacking my things and moving to another room.

First time I had a problem there but Pacific Breeze is still my hotel of choice when staying in AC.

One more thing to add: the power sockets at the desk are the US / Japan compatible two-prong variety (220 V though I believe, so check your equipment before plugging it in to make sure it doesn't get fried). Fortunately I am well equipped for plugging many holes ;) and had the appropriate adapter. Folks traveling from the US should bring an adapter if they have laptops that require a grounded outlet. There was one 3-prong grounded outlet in the room, but it was at the small side table well away from the ethernet port. Also, there was no ethernet cable in the room, but I heard they provide one on request (I brought my own).

I'm surprised at the reports that go up from time to time for ABC. It's just kind of a bordello atmosphere, way on the high side price wise for staying in that kind of an atmosphere. It's got more of a rent the rooms by the hour type feel to it. I had planned staying there multiple nights on my last trip but I couldn't make it more than one, it just has a dirty feel to it. I think the pool is kind of awesome but I honestly would not feel very comfortable getting in it, it has that screwed in a million times feel to it. I do have my friends that I would recommend it to because I know they're the type that would like a place like that but then again those guys wouldn't pay for a place like that and they'd prefer staying in a hole in the ground hotel. I think the posts in this forum paint ABC in the wrong light, the "beach pool" is far from a place you're going to want to hang out unless there's a party with tons of girls around. The food there was mediocre at best. Lewis hotel was a ton cheaper and the food was awesome. Now they may not hang pictures of naked ladies on the walls but certainly you could bring as many girls as you want back to your room. The distance to the bars is a difference of about a block ABC vs Lewis. I saw a con for Lewis was it was too far away from the action. 1 block shouldn't change your mind unless you need those scooters in walmart. I stayed in luxurious hotels in Manila and I honestly would have preferred Lewis because of price and food, their hotel rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. I think the best thing to do would be stay at a couple different hotels 1 night and find the best one that fits you. I prefer more the GFE experience and some guys don't go for that, I can't possibly see a GFE experience in ABC. If you have a girl pretending it would be ruined by the fact that you know only a working girl would screw in a place like ABC. I can see in some countries where large age gaps are excepted you don't want to go around with some girl half your age in a nice hotel because they'll figure she's a working girl, but in the Philippines it is normal so why go to a hotel built for mongering when you have no reason to hide? Just my 2 cents.

about the power. the prong-adapters they give at the front desks don't necessarily convert voltage down from 220 to 110. they just convert to your size male input (no pun intended). if you want to make sure you don't fry your electronics (your rechargeable batteries probably won't mind the extra juice) , you should pick up a real power converter at a hardware store. about the size of your fist (and bulky / heavy) , it will say on the side that it inputs 220 and outputs 110, at 60 cycles. i got mine in the malate robinson's hardware store (floor 3, above nat'l bookstore). after i burned out my second hitachi magic wand when turning it on (pop. gone!) , i decided to spend the p550 several years ago. i plug it into the wall nearest the computer, then with another two / three-prong adapter, i plug in a 3-pronged american 6-strip surge protector to the 110-end of the power adapter. then i plug all of my electronics into the 6-strip: phone charger, computer, etc. i also carry a 15-foot extension cord, and i plug that into the 6-strip, and my hitachi into that, so it can stretch across the room to the happy pinay.

in regards to adapters and converters. for sure one needs to have an adapter for here maybe more than one, they're cheap. for my laptop, i don't even use the converter here in the philippines. for newer laptops, the plug i believe already has it's own converter. the little black rectangular box in the middle of the plug i believe does the converting.

I'm surprised at the reports that go up from time to time for ABC. .The food there was mediocre at best. Lewis hotel was a ton cheaper and the food was awesome.I have not tried the food at the Lewis Grand yet; I will certainly do so on my next visit, but again I was pleasantly surprised by my one and only meal at ABC. The 500 peso (aka $12) Sunday dinner special that I ordered that was delicious and well presented. It would have certainly cost me $40 or so back in the states. Again, not 5 star, but the best I ever had in Angeles. I will definitely stop by the Lewis Grand next time and compare, but I will defend the SINGLE meal I had at ABC. It was the best I had all week, bar none.

That said, the martini I ordered at ABC sucked. But then again, I have yet to find a single venue in the Philippines that knows how to make a decent martini. In fact, I have decided that be it martinis or margaritas, it is best to order shots and borrow the shaker than trust the average AC bartender.

Lastly, watching the pool bartenders (female) push each other into the ABC pool in their uniforms was priceless. It was like watching an office lady wet tee-shirt contest :)

To each his own, I guess.

I have done most descent hotels in AC and ABC is by far the best. If I can't get a room at the ABC I look at LGH if I have to be in AC but after that I don't bother these days. I would rather stay in Manila and wait for room to be available. I don't know how often you have eaten at ABC or LGH but I tend to spend around 20-30K peso each trip eating in those places as I don't trust most establishments in AC. Food is good at LGH but there is no consistency. ABC has far better food although what pisses me off is they sometimes don't have everything on the menu. Both places are overpriced although ABC is far more however there are specials like the 500p 3 course daily special (which is GOOD value and great food) also there is another special if you stay in building 3 for 500p all you can eat sushi and sashimi which I enjoy a lot. Worth checking out is the YATS restaurant as well, second IMO after ABC.

As for the hotel feel, again it depends on what you like. I like the bordello feeling to it. If you haven't noticed the whole area is ONE BIG BORDELLO. I don't get guys that come to AC for GFE or to screw non pros. Don't get me wrong I have done it too but these days if I want a GFE I simply take her away from AC and go somewhere much nicer. Worst case scenario go Subic or back to manila with her where you can enjoy other activities hence increasing your GFE. You will find better and cheaper hotels the LGH and have a better GFE. AC to me is just to fulfil my fantasies, to screw as many or find quality hookers that will yield to everything I can come up with and will let me fuck them as hard as my heart contents without giving much thought. For that purpose ABC does it the best. The restaurant is great, the pool is the best in AC and yeah fucking in it common and exciting, especially the new shower room, the cave, the little room by the fish tank, hell even the bar at 3-4am is great. What I love about the hotel though is the bed. The bed in building 1 and 2 is amazing. It has this spring mechanism that once you get going the bed does half the work for you. The fact that he bed is huge big enough to have few girls at a time is great especially if you are into 3somes or orgies. Building 3 has different beds and size of beds is different in some rooms (rooms ending with 5 have smallest beds). Building 3 has better bed for sleeping but not for fucking. This is where I think they got it wrong they should have kept the old beds. The lights in building 3 don't do shit for me as I have seen it before but I can tell you that the girls LOVE the pole in the fiesta suites and some of the shows I have had over the last few days justify the crazy prices they charge. Few After School girls with their uniforms, few others with my toys and uniforms, private bar, naked pillow fights on the bed, I am sure you get the picture. I guess this is far from what you want which is fine, I just don't understand why on earth you would stay in a shithole of a town like AC if you already have picked your girl for the GFE? If you haven't then you name one better environment to test her willingness to serve you and be a good rental asawa.

Also where ABC wins over LGH or any other is their transport services. Only hotel in town with helicopter and heliped. It has far more cars available the LGH or any other. They are happy to drive you around AC at anytime and I have never had problems calling reception for them to pick me up from anywhere. I sometimes barhop at the other side of AC where the Filipino bars are and this convenience is quite good for me. Also last few days with a typhoon it kind of helps to have a car to drive you around one side of perimeter to fields and it makes it easier at the end of the night after drinking with a girl in tow. Service is free, and I use it 4-5times a day.

Another interesting thing is he barfine from poolbar which can be signed off and then payed on the end with the total bill with your credit or corporate card.

Bottom line is if you have come to AC with a budget this is not a hotel for you. If money is no object and you want to enjoy you will struggle to find another place like it ANYWHERE in the world, believe me, I know.

I've tried searching the forum with several different search terms and can't find any info about Blue Fields Hotel. Has anyone stayed there or know anything about it? I've tried searching the forum with several different search terms and can't find any info about Blue Fields Hotel. Has anyone stayed there or know anything about it?Have not stayed there myself but I did check it out once. Despite having 'fields' in their name, they are not close to Fields Ave. But if you are going to frequent the perimeter bars, it might be the place to stay. They actually have a decent pool too. That area has a lot of activity so if you don't like the room you can always switch to the Seinpost, Hana or Sunset Garden nearby.

I ended up staying at Bluefields. Pluses: Good location for Perimeter bars, priced under 1000 pesos / night, nice pool. Minuses: though generally clean, the place is run-down, restaurant food is cheap but not very good, no generator for brownouts.

All in all, not bad for a cheapskate like myself. I think next time I spend a little bit more for a nicer hotel.

The Royal Amsterdam Hotel is going downhill. It is still decent, but it is not as good as it was. I think it all started when they got rid of that American manager as a cost saving move. The owners are not re-investing in the hotel.

It used to be my favorite hotel (for overall value). Now it is not that good. The beds need to be replaced, the towels are getting old. Some of the AC units need to be changed.

Then they had the nerve to raise their prices.

The Royal Amsterdam had vacancies (unheard of previously). But this also might be the fact that many hotels / condos have opened up (plus more are coming).

ThanksI stayed at the Tiger Hotel in 2010. I don't remember the room type I was in though. The hotel is very quiet. The room was cleaned each day by the staff with a smile. I did not have problem using their wifi connection but I remember it being slow. They also had computer stations on each floor that you can use for free which seemed to be always available. It is a short walk from the action on Fields Ave.

The rooms were of similar quality to Central Park but less expensive. However, I does not have a restaurant / room service on site.

Most hotels don't seem to keep their investment up. I think AC's hotels do a slightly better job of it though compared to elsewhere. There could be a lot of factors involved in vacancy rates. Typical raise prices to make up past losses. Weird thinking over there.

Pacific Breeze "never" has any vacancies when you walk up (that's why I've never stayed there). That should tell you somethig.

Grand Central is OK. But their water has a brown color and it smells. The water is OK on other parts of the city. Not sure if it is the pipes or water source. But the smelly water is OK if you get over the smell; after I got out of the shower, I didn't smell (at least I didn't think so; LOL).

The Pacific Breeze is very close to the Grand Central. Does anyone know if the water smells in the Pacific Breeze?

In Subic if you have the money, stay at the Wild Orchid at Baloy Beach. If you want to save money, there are many places to stay along Baloy. I've stayed at Blue Rock before; it's OK, but not sharp. To save money, there are non-descript guesthouses along Balong across the street from the beach. I've stayed at Ethan for 1500 pesos (wi-fi and safe in room). White House was advertising rooms for 900 pesos.

If you want to stay closer to the action in Bario Baretta, there are seveal guesthouses/hotels along National Hwy (including Arizona which is on the beach).

I say that because I was at Grand Central in October which is located on Fields but Central Park the sister hotel of Pacific Breeze is also close to Pacific Breeze. Central Park on I believe some of their ground floor units use water from a well which has a smell to it, at least they did before. I had no such issue with water at Grand Central, formerly Orange Lion. Also, for sure Central Park is cheaper than Pacific Breeze, but the price difference with Grand Central isn't much of one with Pacific Breeze.

As for Law Stud's first post, how generic of a question can you really start with? You don't even put what you want out of the hotels. Did you read the forum about what people say first?

I have staid in Pacific Breeze in the past and have always been happy with it, but now it looks to have gone seriously downhill. I had booked a non-smoking room in the main building, and they put me in a smoking room in the annex. Of course it stank like an ash tray, and the water pressure in the shower was the worst I have ever seen in this country. Needless to say I changed to Wild Orchid immediately. It costs a bit more, but you get what you pay for. Very happy with the room, facilities and service.

1) First time I set foot in the ABC hotel. I was impressed. Went there to eat that dinner buffet; good food at 500 pesos. I liked the restaurant area; swim up area surrounding the sushi bar; nice decor; only problem is that the whole area is in the outside without A / C. Too bad the ABC hotel is 2X my budget.

2) Just down the ABC is a hotel called Devera Hotel. http://www.deverahotel.com/ Looks decent; Currently you get a 25% discount because they are still in the construction phase. Only the first 2 floors are open. Clerk said they are taking about 1 month to do each floor. Oh boy, what slow asses!

3) Galaxy Hotel: Still haven't seen much progress; the shell is all done though. With the slow pace of this country, it might be awhile when everything is done.

4) Fields Plaza Hotel next to McDonalds is open; near corner of Fields and MacArthur. Looks way too expensive for me.

5) More hotels and condos are coming.

6) Got a free upgrade at the Royal Amsterdam. It had a newer A/C and newer towels. But my biggest complaint still is that they have horrible pillows; it was very lumpy; they need to change all the pillows. Notice that the Royal Amsterdam had vancancies while the Walk-About was full. Never observed that before; it was always vice-versa; maybe the price increase and deteriorated rooms are affecting the Royal Amsterdam.

Thanks for the clarification. And if I can correct one more thing, I wasn't criticizing you for missing information. I was concerned with the misinformation: "Pacific Breeze "never" has any vacancies when you walk up (that's why I've never stayed there)." I think you put "never" in quotes as emphasis, but I've walked in and got a nice room as recently as Dec. 27. As Eddie suggests that was rarer back before the annex was built and in all fairness to GB, it is a popular hotel.

Some places will tell you no vacancies at 10am. Try again at noon after check out time and you might get a different answer. Wait too long and you may be back to square one. X.

I did not stay at the Tiger Hotel, but I am answering your question about safety. I stayed at the Affinity Cond for 3 weeks in dec 2011. You have to turn at the Tiger Hotel to get to Sofia St where the Affinity is located.

AC is a 24 hr town, there are always people on the streets. I never felt unsafe walking to & from fields during my whole trip.

Wicked Roger.

You posted in 2009 you enjoyed your stay at the Affinity but they had no credit card machine. They still don't. Have to pay cash or a 10% surcharge for CC because they go thru Pay Pal. But I will definitely stay there again. It is much cheaper to make ATM withdrawals than use pay pal.

2) Just down the ABC is a hotel called Devera Hotel.

http://www.deverahotel.com/

Looks decent; Currently you get a 25% discount because they are still in the construction phase. Only the first 2 floors are open. Clerk said they are taking about 1 month to do each floor. Oh boy, what slow asses! It does look nice. The discounted rooms look like a good deal but I wonder if the construction noise is bothersome. From their Facebook page, it looks like the 4th & 5th floors are open but the elevators are not working yet.

You still don't want to be claiming stairs in AC with or without a bf in tow.

Fast Eddie 48I stayed at PB last week for two nights, booked a couple of days in advance by phone. On the first afternoon, as I was passing by the front desk, I overheard a guy inquiring if they have any rooms available for that night. The gal at the desk replied, 'Yes, but only an Annex room with hot tub for $85 a night'. Coincidentally, I was staying in the Annex in the same type of room-very nice indeed! My gf, her gf and I had a jolly time in that hot tub!

I stayed at PB for few nights in mid-February and I had no problems making a reservation for the main building using email. Overall it was a nice experience. Very helpful staff and I liked their security (they called me before they let my gf leave the building in the morning). The hot tub was actually the only disappointment. The water was at best lukewarm and it took forever to fill the tub. So in the end I never used it.

Any opinions on what would be the quietest hotel near Fields Ave. ? Talking top floor, less street noise and decent sound proofing. Hoping to sleep during scheduled sleep hours. Preferably not the most expensive. I am cheap when I want to be, but wiling to go an extra $10-$40 / night for quiet. I can walk or ride jeepney, so off Perimeter is fine. Ethernet required.

You're asking for quiet and if so, I'd probably lean more to Pacific Breeze and it is in the Fields Area. The problem is the construction of the condominiums there has affected many hotels around there with some noise. I'm a light sleeper and had issues with most hotels near there where before Pacific Breeze was pretty good with noise levels. You have to get the room on the correct side that may be minimized from the noise from the construction. I also had a little problem with trike noise. But this is all in regards to noise during the day time, but it can start in the daylight morning hours. At night, noise is not going to be an issue except maybe the occasional trike if you are really really a light sleeper. I like to sleep in late afternoon some and had problems with noise levels.

Fast Eddie 48Eddie,

Are you considered a light sleeper? Do you get woken up regularly by odd noises when you sleep even if it's the slightest of noises to most people? I do and maybe less so than before but still am considered a light sleeper. I think when someone asks about quiet rooms, that's usually an indication that they are probably a light sleeper and if you are not one like that, then you may not understand the problems that come with it. I love nice beds too, but I find out the hard way that even with a nice mattress, I can't sleep well with noises from trikes and construction or people making noise by talking in the hallways or videoke machines just outside a window.

Jack,

Also, if it gets really bad and you are willing to pay for it, you may want to just pay up and stay at Wild Orchid. It's a little expensive for what you get, but the rooms in back by the pool were extremely quiet, but you have to pay for that luxury. There was no ethernet connection in room though. For me, staying on actual Fields or Perimeter are pretty tough propositions for light sleepers.

Devera Hotel is giving discounts for their rooms right now but you get what you pay for. The rooms are small and the bathrooms even smaller. Standard rooms do not have a window. Executive rooms are not much better. There is a window but no balcony and the only view you'll get is that of the utility cables hanging over the street. Executive rooms also have a kitchen sink and a microwave but that is all you really get for 600 pesos more over the standard room. Right now there is a lot of noise from the construction. Construction workers are constantly walking through the lobby and up the stairs carrying buckets of material. The rooms have ants and mosquitoes which will make your sleep interesting if the construction noise and dust do not. The hotel is also overbooked so beware if they lure you in for a few nights with the promise of being accommodated for a longer stay you might just find yourself looking for another hotel on short notice. There are no dining facilities on site and no amenities to speak of. The free wireless internet was decent but there were hardly any English channels on the cable TV worth looking at beyond CNN.

Unless you're a real cheap Charlie who values saving a few hundred pesos over comfort, service and convenience then I would not recommend.

Also, if you're a light sleeper you might hear guest and workers moving about on the hard tile in the hallway. I think the bug problem might have been caused in part by the construction activities. Open doors and windows would certainly let in the mosquitoes. The ants might have been brought in with the construction materials but the fact that they're still hanging around suggests that there is no pest control in place.

Windowless rooms do not bother me that much. Once I stayed at Royal amsterdam hotel long time ago in their cheapest room. No window did not bother me as well as the girl who stayed with me three nights. Barfine at that time was 800 pesos and I believe the room was about 1000 pesos. I have booked to stay at devera in May. Hopefully by that time atleast some facilities will be open. Ofcourse if things bother me I will move. Mosquitoes are there everywhere in some months. They generally do not get into air con rooms.

You should have told them about the ants and mosquito problem. I am sure they would have taken care of it. One question I have is do they have refrigerator in the room. It is important to me to have cold drinks and water especially with non stop sex.

I had an excellent meal at Red Sea the other day.

Breakfast at Phillies. This is a nice place, gets a lot of customers, and has some nice looking waitresses. I wasn't very impressed with the breakfast I had. Grand slam was the name I think. About 280p. I asked for the eggs over easy. THe eggs that arrived had obvously not been flipped, but the waitress insisted that they were "over easy". I just smiled and tucked in. Nothing was particularly hot. I only got thru about half the pancakes. The guy sitting a few seats over had heard my "over easy" exchange with the waitress and mentioned to me that he didn't like his breakfast either.

So the next day I stopped at Strawberry fields for breakfast. Their breakfast was over 300 pesos, and there was no waitress in sight. I left.

I decided to go to an old standby near the America hotel. Nina's is the name I think. It is mostly a Filipino place but get's a lot of expats. You know the kind. Drinking beer at 9:30am. Anyway, two eggs, garlic rice, tea, tocino and I asked for a banana on the side. The whole thing came to 110p. And the food was hot.

Not far from Nina's is a place serving breakfast and also is a bakery. I remember "bakery" in the name. I didn't go in because it was already full of people eating. I think it's relatively new and seems popular.

Walked into Pacific breeze and got a room. You probably can't do that on a weekend though. The rooms are clean and kept up well, the hotel has a pool, and this place has been reported about extensively in the past.

I think the Deluxe rooms at Orchid inn are among the most coveted in AC. The pool area is spacious and there is even some lawn. It just feels different than the mostly concrete construction of pools like the one at P. B.

I looked at a room at the new (Mar2012) Galaxy hotel. I looked at one of the nicer rooms and the size and price were comparable to Pacific Breeze. The furnture looked much nicer though. The rooms surround a couryard pool, much like the set up at Outback Hotel. So, if you are on the first floor you could literally open the door, take three steps and be in the pool. The restaurant looks like it's a bit unorganized, but I was very tempted to switch rooms.

Okay, all a bit vague, but that's my observation after two night in AC. X

DH,

I would book the first few days of your stay at PB. Your first morning in AC, visit each hotel on your list to see for yourself what condition the rooms are in and the location of each hotel. Printout the online info for each hotel complete with room features, location and price. If you like the hotel and the room inquire about the room rate without revealing to the staff you already looked up the rate online. Sometimes you can get a better deal that way, sometimes they try to charge more so use the online price as a guide. Once you get the rate inquire about promo rates, then finally ask about a long term rate since you are planning to be in AC for a few weeks.

In most cases it's best to do any bargaining directly with the manager or sales person because the front desk is trained on the standard rate info and will not be able to give you a discount because they are afraid to get fired. I would deal with your hotel situation ASAP when you arrive in AC. Best to get your hotel issues straightened out and preferably before you get balls deep into Miss some young thing as filipina p*ssy has a way of making guys lose focus for obvious reasons.

Enjoy your stay in AC Mr. Hertz

Sammon, If you had read my post more carefully, you would see that I did in fact go back and discover that the discussion was about Devera hotel. I was suggesting that adding a "title", or some other clue, would have made it easier for others.

My language was meant to be more humorous than anything. It was directed at CM, not Sammon, and I think CM is quite capable of taking a little ribbing. He certainly dishes it out. in fact, in the post in question he uses this politically incorrect terminology, "fat geezer with potbelly ". No need for "harsh language" indeed!

I treat the gals I meet quite well. Most come back for more. I don't understand why you suggest I have frustrations, nor do I understand why or how you can make any inference about how I treat women. If you have any further comments, pleast take them to PM.

I'm not sure if any of these have a "fitness club". Does Wild Orchid have a gym?

One hotel with a pool and gym and reasonably priced rooms would be Clarkton. It's a bit far from ground zero, but they do run a shuttle in the evening. X.Actually Pacific Breeze does have a gym. It's nothing special, nothing top of the line. It is located on the top floor in the annex and you have to ask someone at the front desk to assist in getting the door to the gym opened. They lock it if no one is in there. I would not call it a fitness club. Personally, I would just take a walk to the one down on McCarthur.

Wild Orchid does not have a gym.

Thanks for the info. I'll surely consider The Charkton and Wild Orchid.

Thanks for the help. If I'm at Central Park, I'll be able to use the pool of its sister Pacific Breeze.

They are own by the same group just ask the reception desk at Central park for a guest pass for the pool at Pacific breeze.

They don't alway check for room key or guest pass at PB and the pool is never very crowed.

Rooms are small, some noise coming from the restaurant area, so not sure I can recommend the place. I like having a pool, the place is new, and you got to love the mirror. X

Where are yours, sir? You have posted none in the philippine threads. I looked thru your last 25 posts, and you have not posted a single pic. Let those who have posted in the thread be the ones to whine. Certainly not newbs to the filipine boards.

What do you mean by "be a bit braver"? What exactly do you expect to find in the "AC hotels and accomodations" thread? The photos are there for someone who might be interested in one of the newest hotels in AC. X.

Thanks for posting some good info and pics! Pay no attention to the comment posted below. Obviously a delusional member who had claimed in a previous post to be an editor somewhere. Almost laughable. If that were true he would realize the value and proper positioning of interior pics of a new hotel available in AC, posted in the AC HOTELS AND ACCOMODATION THREAD! *insert eye roll smiley here*

I am firmly with Westcoast on this one. Ya got to be kidding.

I think it was about 3000, but don't rememeber exactly. Sorry. I remember the restaurant had a hand written menu. In other words, they're still figuring things out.

I find the Deluxe rooms at Orchid inn to be the best value (for my tastes). X.

Price per night?

http://galaxyhotel-ph.com/

I paid the promo rate of 2950, but according to the web page reg. Prices are 3450.

A superior deluxe at Orchid inn is only 2750 and the room is larger / quieter and there is more space around the pool.

http://www.orchidinnresort.com/rates.html

One of the cheaper hotels in AC which HAS a pool is America Hotel. Avoid the noisy rooms at the front and avoid the restaurant. I like the large balcony rooms at the back, but don't remember the prices.

Cheap rooms and smallish pool at Walkabout. http://www.walkabout-hotel.com/roomprice.htm

Large pool at Clarkton and I really like the large balcony rooms at the back. They aren't cheap though 3250 pesos.

What is the latest consensus on the above hotel? I last stayed at Eurasia Hotel, however I see some form of 'Cartel effect', whereby standard hotel rates countrywide are no less than 1500p per night. I do not recall paying this at Eurasia Hotel two years back. Just checked their room rate. 1750p currently. I'm not too assed about pricing, but since I'm paying I like to keep the costs in check if I'm to travel several times later in the year.

Could anybody reason why I should not stay at Orchard Inn? Location good, planning on riding the bargirls in A Santos Road and Raymond st, personally not much into the barfine. Checked this thread several pages back, not much mentioned.

I have twice visited Angeles City and stayed at average hotels (Central Park and Premiere) but have decided to step up a grade for next trip and am looking at Bourbon Street Condos next to Wild Orchid. I can find only 2 booking sites with wildly differing prices for the same size condos and no reviews / comments so I am concerned about making a booking and paying out the hard earned without any knowledge other than from the booking sites themselves. I really would appreciate hearing about your experiences there and who you booked through.

If you are on a budget Orchild is fine at1750p this place room is getting old need renovation, the wild Orchild just down the st is new larger room and nicer pool it is about 500 p more a night for standard, hotel room in AC is getting more expensive every yr going up in price like the barfined but it is still cheaper than manila my far.

I remember that the standard at WO is in the 3k range and is rather small compared to the better rooms at Orchid Inn. (but I love the mirrors at WO). It's been a long time since I stayed at the cheaper (old wing) standard rooms at OI. I remember it was rather run down, but surely it's been renovated by now. I also remember no window, which I don't care for. As I said in a post earlier, I was in a better room which was in the courtyard facing the pool and the restaurant. Both are big hotels and have many rooms, so maybe FE48 has had better luck than me. If the price difference was only 500 yen, I would stay at Wild Orchid every time! X.

Currently staying at Devera Hotel for the excellent price of 1500 pesos.

Nice new hotel. Occassional construction noise going on at 6-7 floor. I stay at 3 Road floor so does not bother me.

Size- Room size is little small. I am sure there maybe bigger rooms. Bathroom is small but adequate. Nice rainmaker showerhead. Plenty of hot water.

Cleanliness- Clean rooms with good house keeping.

Bed- Very good king size bed. Flush pillows. Clean white sheets and yes they do replace the blanket or comfortable every day. In many of the other hotels comforter s not replaced.

Extras- Room has a small fridge, hot water boiler, enough lights, room overhead air con, work desk. Free internet.

No restaurent open downstairs but can order food from outside who deliver.

Overall nice hotel, little ways from hustle and bustle of Fields avenue.

Anyone have any info on a good place for a long term (30+ days) stay at least relatively near the action? I'd hate to pay full nightly rate at a hotel if something else is available. Thanks.

Most hotels in AC will give some sort of discount for longer stays like 30Days. Pick something in the range you like, and with the facilities you want, and then see how much they will come down.

Will give you a good range of close to the action hotels. You can book through those people. They have been there for years, and I should imagine they are reliable. (I normally book through hotels direct, but if you want an agent, these people are as good as any).

Note that some hotels are in Fields (probably a place to start if you've never been to AC before) and some in Perimeter (a bit of a twenty minute hike from Fields on foot, but plenty of jeepneys).

If you want cheap but clean and near to the Perimeter action, and have never been in AC before, the owner of this place below is a mine of information. (It's on the Margaritaville list above).

Recommended!I guess it all depends on what time you get back to your room and try to sleep. Also for people who are light sleepers and do try to sleep during the day, the information is actually quite relevant. For people who aren't light sleepers they probably wouldn't understand. For me, that helps me stay away from the hotel at least until the construction is finished if that.
