We did not get to bed for actions till almost 4:00am. I was totally exhausted. Then, she asked me to sleep with her like " a train "! Man, honestly I did not even think about to ask her to stay overnight with me. But it was great and I got a TLN experience. She left the hotel with me at 12:00pm the next day when I have to check out to move to the Marriott at Guaruhols. Having said that, she even dropped tears in the morning when I told her I have to switch hotel that day and leave for US on Friday. I did not ask her to come with me to Guaruhols since I knew she supposed to have a doctor appointment on Thursday. But we did have a very moving phone conversation on Friday right before I headed to the airport.
Since this is my first encounter on this type of situation in the mongering scene in SP, I would like to ask your insights on what is going to happen from this point on between me and her and how I should proceed if I do decide to continue to develop the relationship with her.
I feel there is a chance that you might not want to comment in full extend on my questions. i landed on saturday may 26 at newark liberty which marked the end of my field trip to sp from may 20 to may 25. the trip has a mix purpose of work and fun. funs occupied pre-dominately thsi time. as a new member of this forum, i have benefited from the infromation and greta reports contributed by many long-time members and reguialr members. i feel that i owe the forum a lot if i do not make my onwn contribution when the right time comes.
actually, i have made two posts during my stay in sp last week. to sum my whole trip up, i would like to contribut the followings:
day 1. arriving gru after the 9-hour flight by continental from newark, i met my friend at the gate. he is my best friend in a us comapny i used to work for in guaruhols. before we left for the parking lot, i went to the bradesco window to exchange are$. the rate was terrible. are$1. 85/us$ but i negotiated with the girl to get it are$1. 9/$. i exchanged for $1, 000. then i had a quick breakfast with my friend in a nice neighbour at jardins area where my hotel is located. after that, i stopped by his newly purchased and renovated apartment and met her girlfriend. my next stop is the hotel and i wanted to check in by 12:00pm and started my adventure as early as possible.
i stayed in quality jardins on av. campinas. the hotel looks old and are under a project of " face lift ". i pay are$203 for a luxo apartment. the room is decent with a king size bed, a working desk and free high-speed internet access. the reason why i selected this hotel is its location to the area of moema, where many escorts have their flats there. it turns out my strategy working quite well.
i quickly settled down and then turned on my computer to do my research. i know i will only call english-speaking escorts since i speak none portuguese. i simply went to websites such as clubmodel, sexstream, erosguide etc. to single out who " claim " to speak english. at the end, i came up a list of 15 girls from different websites. next, it is the phone interview process. i think i must spend some money on making lots of calls. please pay attention here. most of the working girls use list their cell phones on the site, you have to pay roaming charges (i guess) when you call from a land line. no matter what, that was what i had done in my hotel room. my questions are simply. what is your name, how old are you, how much do you charge and how far are you from jardins. if they survided my questions, they are on my follow-up list!
i do not have a hig expectation on sunday in sp. i know from my previous business trips to sp that the mongering scence is dead on sunday. it is a typical family date for brazilains. that is ok. i just wanted to tried my luck. i did get a few girls on the phone and i even set up an apponintment at 8:00pm with one girl.
the girl came on time. following by a quick section, i knew i have to call for a day. she understood a little english and somehow slipped through the interview process. after the first round, she told me she needed to go home to take care of her baby. that was bs to me and really runined my interest on a 2nd round with her. i left her out the door right away!

Day 2 ) - After a good night sleep, I felt I was going to have a great start on Monday. My strategy is to make calls to the girls in the morning and then lock in the appointments for the day. One comment I like to make here is to make the calls to the girls in the mornign by 12:00am because that will increase the odd of your success. The logic I think is that she should have been booked in full by either 12:00 pm or early afternnon if she is a good quality one in the field. This works even more on those girls who speak decent english. On the other hand, do not make calls before 10:00 am because most of the girls who work till late night are still in beds. My strategy works. I hit three targtes on my first trial of the day. I booked a girl called Fernanda at 12:00pm and then Luize at 4:00pm. If you have read my previous report on this Forum, I have made comments on my encounters with these two girls. Overall, I had a great time. Actually, these two girls had become my favorites during my trip and even allowed me to receive the sort of GFE towards the second half of my stay !!! Stay tune for my experiences.
3) Day 3 - I booked a girl called " Elktra " on Monday for a section at 12:00 pm on Tuesday. She and the other two girls I met on Monday are all listed on Clubmodel website. Although there is a bit photopolishing on the web, the real persons are still very clsoe to the photos. The site is reliable. Elktra is also one of the girls highly recommended on GPGuia.net ( a local Brazilain Forum about GPs ). I confirmed the appointment on 11:00am with her. She arrived on time. She is a brunette and beautiful with a good body. We had a great section. One interesting things to mention here is that she asked me whether I have condons before she went for shower. I arrived today (Monday - May 28) Just wanted to report in on some basic details on the afternoons activities. I went to two cambios to exchange USDs 1) in Shopping Paulista - 1 level down from street level $1usd=R$1.90! then I went to 2) my favorite cambio in the office mall across from the MASP museum (its on the side of the tree park (Trianon) on Paulista) ASTOR cambio is on street level immediately on the right side once you enter this office mall. they gave $R1.93. The dollar continues to suck!
I wanted to session at the famous Clinica Kin. I followed Full Throttle's advice and got on the "Term Sto Amaro" bound 669A bus on Av Paulista. There are two convenient bus stop clusters to get on this bus. One is right in front of the Trianon park and the other is the bus stops right after the Citibank. The bus turns off Av Paulista at Brigadeiro so this is the last stop on Paulista to get on. After about 40-45mins, you will be on Saint Amaro and should get off before it crosses Av Roque Petroni Jr. (this is major thoroughfare) Once you get off, cross Av Roque Petroni and turn right . The first little street you come to will be Dr Jose Marques da Cruz, turn into this street about 4 blocks is Clinica Kin (#235).
I arrived at about 5:45pm and was introduced to about 7/8 girls. Each girl came out to the reception area and gave me a little kiss and told me their name. The damage is $R120 for an hour session. I liked several of them and picked Juliana. She just got her photos in their book, so she is not on the website yet. I liked her, she was cute. She was a receptive partner but not a firecracker. Price for a toltal of 5 drinks including 2 for the girl and the entrance fee was about R130, the only thing that bothered me is that the waiter asked for a tip, which is unusual.
Paula smiled at me and I invited her for a drink. Very sweet girl who usually works at Cafe Foto where she explained prices are much higher. We agreed on R400 for TLN and she did stay until I had to kick her out to go to work in the AM. Overall very friendly provider with a great GFE attitude. Not a sex queen but still a good experience.
Cafe Gauguin is very convenient for anyone staying at the Hilton, Gran Estanplaza or WTC hotels since it is about a 2 minute walk from the Hilton and directly across the street from the Gran Estanplaza, which by the way appears to be a very nice hotel for less than half the price of the Hilton.
I walked to CG at about midnight on Monday night. Entrance fee of R$120 was discounted to R$80 by the girl at the door, without even asking, including 2 drinks. Once inside it is like a disco with a stage and a strip show. But the ratio of girls to customers was fantastic, I counted 20 girls and 4 customers. I had at least 7 girls competing for my attention at all times.
Picked Isadora, a Britney Spears look alike, but with hair. I picked her because of her sexy dancing in a short red dress and hot looks. She did not speak English and I do not speak Portuguese, yet, there was not a dull moment. We left the bar at 2:00AM (place was getting ready to close by the way) after agreeing to R400 for all night at the Hilton.
On the way to the hotel I was afraid I made a mistake, she did not hold hands, did not talk, nothing. But once in the room though she turned into this hot bombshell that would make the real Britney blush. We had 3 hours of uninterrupted, torrid, just incredible sex, I can't even find the words to describe it, let's just say she was a real bomba, that her BBBJ was great and that she appeared to enjoy the session which was really nice.

The only thing I did not like about CG is that the bartender tried to open a R$350 half bottle of Veuve Cliquot without clearly asking me or mentioning the price. Got Isador a R$40 glass of wine instead.
I am planning to go to Clinica Kin this afternoon, I am wondering if I can walk there from the Hilton, since they are both in Brooklin, I spent over R$600 in taxis since I arrived 2 days ago, Brazil is definitely not cheap.

I will be in Sao Paulo 7/13. The plan was 4d in SP, 8 in Rio, then4 more in SP. I find that the Pan Am games are in Rio at that time. The hotels are "practicing special pricing".
One side of me says, go for the best accomodations I can (my regular hotel (Sol Ipanema) is twice as expensive for this time...OR; just stay in SP and really get to know the place for 2 weeks.
Another option is to go north for some time. (Salvador, Natal, Forta., Recife). But I need optimal mongering possibilities.
Anybody got any thoughts?
It might even be cool to check out the games, but I'm afraid everything will be "priced-up" for the occasion.

Unless you have a special friend in Sao Paulo, I don't suggest coming here. Places are very spread out, taxis can kill you. Read Mahal's post below.
I arrived on Monday and could not get in touch with my special friend until she e-mailed me TODAY. I have been mongering on a backpackers budget this week. You can find cheap and good value during the daytime and afternoon if you stick to going to the Clinicas (MPs) (average $R120 per hour includes the cabine/room)
Night time Boites have high entrance fees ($R50-R150) some include drinks and food (like Bomboa). I went to Connection VIP last night for the first time and the place had possiblities. Had over 30 GDPs in hot revealing outfits and some did striptease routines. But it was full of guys, making the ratio probably 4 to 1. (GDPs to clients) I researched and got there from Jardins area via Metro & Bus for under $R10 but getting back to my hotel around 3:30am cost me $R50! The entrance fee was $R60 I think, but if you take a chick upstairs for 1 hour it is $R240 all inclusive (girl + room) and the entrance fee is waived. I would go back if I can arrange to share the cab ride back with someone.
Of course, you like reading on a quiet beach . . . there is none in Sao Paulo. But for the time that you'll be arriving, I am not sure how warm it will be in Rio anyhow. Remember it is their Fall/Winter. Last night it was 10ºC here in Sao Paulo, you would not believe how many women were bundled up in turtenecks and fluffy jackets! I would try to find a less expensive option than staying at the Sol Ipanema and just stay in Rio for the whole time.

Actually looking at your last post $R350 per night is probably not crazy high. There are guys on this board that stay in hotels in Sao Paulo for $250USD and up per night. Not my cup of tea.
BTW, I found the GDPs I met in Rio were hotter f*cks than the ones I met in Sao Paulo. Just my personal experience.

Thanks, buddy, for the informative words. I DO have a friend in SP. I'll be there to spend some time with him and his family.
As far as SP in general. I have been there 8 times in the past 3 yrs. And am now essentially fluent. But I know what you mean. My regular travel buddy refuses to go to SP with me. I like it because it's like NYC to me, and I'm a city boy. I love all the museums etc.
I may go up to Fortaleza for a few days. But the more I think about it, I may stay in SP. There really is so much to do.
Agreed; the cariocas are "warmer". And that spirit, there will keep me coming back for some time. I just don't think I want to be "in the mix" during the PanAm Games.
I've had some pretty good luck with awesome experiences in SP. I don't think I will have anything to regret.

Yes, all hotels are girlfriendly in SP as long as you bring only one girl. The Grand Hyatt is no problem.

Since I am fluent in Spanish, mastering the basics of Portuguese shouldn't be difficult at all.
I will be spending all of my time in Sao Paolo because I simply have no desire to get up and travel around Brazil. I've heard that SP is a big city with many possibilities so I'm not worried.
I am confident that between:
1) the 2 low-end buildings.
2) the Praca de Republica nighttime streetwalkers.

I will be spending the whole time in Sao Paulo. Possibly heading up to Goiania to visit a friend ( and possibly confirm some good things I have heard from a co-worker from SP) for a few days. There are some good things on gpguia also, about Goiania.
But while in S.P. I plan to "do it all" many times. The whole reange of prives, casas, "casas noturnas", escorts, and some non-pro playing around.

I concurred with Almotu on his assessment of Rio vs. SP. I did some research of SP for about 1 week in 2003 (after visiting Rio for over 10 years regularly). Based on Almotu's report, seems like things remain the same since 4 years ago.
In 2003, I followed the intelligence lead as provided by this board and checked out as much as the scene given my limited time of one week. Almotu is right. SP is a huge city and things are spread out ala LAX. So, getting point A to point B involves time and $. Cab fare is expensive, even travel for short distance (due to the constant stop and go in SP huge traffic jam, the city seems to be in 24/7 traffic jam - except the weekends). Indeed there are lots of "clinics" but the best clinics do not offer the same level of service ala Termas in Rio. There are lots of clubs/boates and indeed they are very nice, Cafe Foto and the like. However, the entrance fee is high and the expense with the girls is even higher. Of course, everything is relative, if you live and work in SP and have lots of time, I think SP would be a lot of fun. However, if you are on a tight budget and even more tighter time available, SP may not be the best place to spend your time. Definitely visit SP for the experience but be realistic with your expectation.

Both of you are right! São Paulo is a huge city and sometimes we can have the impression of being overwhelmed by its dimension. The first time I was in Sampa I hated the city so much because I was unable to find my way and, consequently, I felt opressed. For a moment, I thought I was the personification of a character (Pa) in an old Charles Lamont's movie I saw when I was a child : Ma and Pa Kettle Go to Town (1950) : a moron in a big city.
In São paulo you have to deal with the immensity of the town but as wrote the poet Glauco Mattoso in Urbaniversado (2002) : "o imenso não é feio nem bonito" (immensity is neither beautiful nor ugly). Immensity is a fact and you have to accept it. Once it's done you will have to live with it. Even the paulistanos have to accept this; it's part of their daily life.
I remember once that I saw a dating game on a TV chanel in São Paulo. At a certain part of the game the female contestants were able to pick up the male contestant they liked the most. They had then a chance to talk to each other (in an secluded place) in order to discover if there was some compatibility between them. After a while, they asked the momentary paired contestants if the match was perfect or not. Believe it or not, the major reason they gave to explain why there was an incompatibility between them was the distance between their respective dwelling place. «Oh, I like him a lot. It think he's perfect but you know I live in Moema and he lives in Tucuruvi...the distance is too big between us!» Damn!!!!
As wrote the poet Luiz Roberto Guedes São Paulo is "a cidade em fugua". We can play here on the polysemy of the locution "em fugua" (en fugue, in French). "Em fugua" can be translated (roughly) as runaway in the sense of "out of control", "enormous" or "which has fled". People in São Paulo are "em fugua" in the sense that they are always moving from one place to another in order to escape their plight. Runaway (enormous) São Paulo induces the feeling of running away (em fugua) from it.
In another poem Guedes wrote:

I'm always surprised to see that almost all members on this board head to Jardim. What's the deal with Jardim? You're close to downton (centro), yeah and so what? Big deal! When comes the night there nothing to do there and when you want some action you are obliged to spend money on expensive car rides.
I prefer to stay in Moema. There's a lot of restaurants, clubs amd bars and the neibourghood is very safe. Many escorts live there, so I don't have to spend expensive taxi fares. If I want to visit a clinic or a privês or spend the night in a boate everything is close to Moema...so why stay in Jardim?

Both of you are right! São Paulo is a huge city and sometimes we can have the impression of being overwhelmed by its dimension. The first time I was in Sampa I hated the city so much because I was unable to find my way and, consequently, I felt opressed. For a moment, I thought I was the personification of a character (Pa) in an old Charles Lamont's movie I saw when I was a child : Ma and Pa Kettle Go to Town (1950) : a moron in a big city.
In São paulo you have to deal with the immensity of the town but as wrote the poet Glauco Mattoso in Urbaniversado (2002) : "o imenso não é feio nem bonito" (immensity is neither beautiful nor ugly). Immensity is a fact and you have to accept it. Once it's done you will have to live with it. Even the paulistanos have to accept this; it's part of their daily life.
I remember once that I saw a dating game on a TV chanel in São Paulo. At a certain part of the game the female contestants were able to pick up the male contestant they liked the most. They had then a chance to talk to each other (in an secluded place) in order to discover if there was some compatibility between them. After a while, they asked the momentary paired contestants if the match was perfect or not. I am in Rio now, and was thinking about heading over to SP for a 3 or 4 day stay. But I am not that familiar with SP. My concern all along has been trying to find a location that does not require all of this traveling time back and forth. Yes, taxi money is an issue, but time is even a bigger factor. Thanks for your input about Moema. Could you please suggest any particular hotel that are not expensive, or cheap, just overall good value. Examples of clinicas or similar places near by. Any info. would be much appreciated.

First of all, a word of caution.
I prefer Moema but I am perfectly aware that this district is not a kind of Shangri-La or mythical Eldorado. It only suits my needs (which, all things considered, are quite modest).
I'll try to explain in few words my I prefer this district to any others in São Paulo.
THE DISTRICT
1) The district (formerly called Indianopolis) is relatively quiet (however, we should never loose sight of the fact that we are still in São Paulo). In general, the tree-shaded streets are safe at any time of the day. I often walk at night. It's mainly a residential district. The avenida Ibirapuera cuts the district in the middle. Close to the Avenida Ipirapuera there's streets with a lot of restaurants, bars, cafés, padarias and shops.
In the southern part of the district, there's also individual houses. Near avenida Eucaliptos, and Juauapueri (close to the praça Paul harris) for example, you almost have the feeling that you are in the country.

Staying in Moema requires a minimum daily taxi budget of 120/140 reals if you want to partake Sao Paulo's frenzy nightlife and wander every night around Zona Sul, Pinheiros and Centro, and more if you want also visit more remote places like Gauguin in Brooklin, Connection in Tatuapé, Millenium in Ipiranga, ect. The only ride back from Love Story in Centro to your hotel in Moema will cost you around 40 reals.
For anyone who comes to Sao Paulo to party and hit the best boites and clubs (is there another reason to come to SP ?!?), there's no sense to stay in such a remote neighborhood. Better choose Itaim/V.Olimpia, which is the regular nightlife's epicenter, Jardins or Pinheiros. Yet IMO Centro is the best location if you stay only a few days and want to optimize your time without ruining yourself in taxi fares.

As I'm not the third member of the infamous Butabi brothers (in the movie A Night at the Roxbury), I don't like to go out in clubs like the ones that are located in Centro. I prefer the cozy atmosphere of jazz clubs like Bourbon Street, in Moema. By the way, Bourbon Street is a great place to spot non-pros.
I also like the residential atmosphere of Moema because I can roam carefree the streets with my wheechair.

I mentionned Itaim as it's the epicenter of Sao Paulo's regular nightlife and a convenient bairro to stay, both for its numerous non-pro venues and, as you say, its proximity of Pinheiros and Centro. Actually, you noticed that maybe 80% of the reports in this thread concern venues located in Pinheiros (Bomboa, Conniff, ect), Centro (N.Pestana and Augusta strip bars, Love Story), Aclimacao (Eu & Elas), Tatuape (Connection, ect), Brooklin (Gauguin), Ipiranga (Millenium), ect.
My "point" is that all those neighborhoods are all a +/- 40 reals one way trip from Moema. As i said there's no sense to stay in such a remote neighborhood. A hobbyist who wants to blend in one night let's say Gauguin, Bomboa and LS (my personnal daily schedule was usually much more complicated) will spend a minimum of 130 reals in taxi fares if his base is Moema. At today's exchange rates, it's an outrageous expense of us$70/day.
Anyway as usual, to each his own. Sao Paulo, and more generally Brasil, is now too pricey and out of market for me. In Chisinau taxi fares are $1,5 whatever the length of the ride.

You must be aware that most Brazilian Internet sites are not agencies in the North American sense of the term. In fact, it's better to deal with indies than with agencies. With agencies there's always the problem of bait'n switch and the time you spend with the GDP is limited. You can recognize agencies because there's only one phone (or very few) number for all the girls that are displayed on the site. Habitually the pics of the girls are from European models (or american porn stars)., Stay away from agencies....they are run by cafetãos (pimps!)

Took way to much time today and read every post from this year. I now fell armed and ready for my flight on Sunday. Man there is a lot of good info.

Berrini : 245 Av. Roque Petroni Jr. (Campo Belo) is only 3.47 km (just 2 miles) from Morumbi Hilton
Clinica Kin (235 rua Prof. José Marques da Cruz) is very close to Berrini and it's even closer to Hotel Morumbi (wow you gain 70 meters!). The distance between your hotel and Kin is only 3.4 km.
It seems that you can walk the distance. If you don't want to walk, a taxi ride will be inexpensive.
Question 3. I used my credit card in PHQ1 and in Privé da rua Jaceru. There's no problem with that mode of payment.

After quite a long period of absence, I managed to have stay a few days in Sao Paulo and Rio last week. I must say that things have become expensive. Cafe Foto prices seemed to have gone up since a year or so ago. I also tried a few garotas from the respected ellass.com.br Some quick feedback:

I wish I had posted earlier, I went to the clinica almost a month ago and can't remember some of the important details. Anyway you cannot walk there from the Hilton, even though it is in Morumbi it is actually quite far away. I went mid-afternoon mid-week without an appointment and waited an hour. The wait was pleasant though, the hostess offered a drink and to consult the catalogue and the girls came to introduce themselves from time to time between two customers.
Everything was as described in other posts in terms of quality and service. I picked 2 girls but one of them was new and the other one offered to bring another girl instead. I accepted, they worked together as a team and it was a great experience.
A couple remarks though: first the hour did not actually last an hour, more like 45 minutes and second, the hostess quoted me a price than was about 60 or 80 reals higher than what has been reported on this forum. I told her I read the price I had read on the internet and she said she did not know what I was talking about. I am sorry I cannot provide the exact numbers. However when I checked out the hostess returned the difference and said she would honor the price I had read about on the Internet. That was a satisfactory resolution but I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience at Clinical Kin.

What hours are you there? I have not been to Eu & Ela which is the closest to a terma that Sao Paulo offers so I can not recommend it but there are some positive posts here in this forum. I would go to Bomboa, they are open by 2/3pm with a small lineup of girls which I have not partaken. Entry is expensive, I think $R150 but you can have food & drink with it as your minimum consumption. You can try going to Clinica Kin. It is highly recommended here but quite far from Paulista. TAM had a big Airline crash on the Runway killing over 200 it hit a TAM building at SP airport Tuesday 17, 2007.
Very sad day yesterday for the families of the ones past away on that horrible airline disaster in SP airport. At least to me it looks like another pilot error. Combination of bad weather and short runway we have a major problem if the pilot is new.
Same kind of accident happened in Burbank airport many years back. Southwest overshot the runway and ended up on Hollywood way 20 feet away from chevron gas station.

Not true. The Slate article is just one unhappy traveller bitching out. That doesn't mean that TAM is a bad airline. I f have been flying with them for a long time, and only just recently has the situation been awful, because of the recent traffic control problems. On the contrary, their staff has always been very pleasant and nice, as opposed to Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, etc.
The whole thing has been a little unsettling for me.
I arrived july 13th. and was staying at the Sonesta (on Av. Iberipuera. 4 blocks from Shopping Ibiripuera; in Moema). I just wanted to get the feel of another neighborhood.
You see flights coming and going right over your head.
I cancelled my plans for Fortaleza the day before the crash. And I would have returned yesterday. ALL flights are now cancelled from Congonhas. And it is playing hell with cancellations all over the country.
60% of flights were cancelled from Porto Alegre yest.
I´ve heard lots. But what seems to be a big problem is that the military and civil branches share and overlap many responsibilities. And there is animosity between them. Not to mention communications issues.
A flight from the US had to return yesterday because when he entered brazilian airspace (zone 4, in the north west|). he lost all tower contact. Apparently he announced to the cabin that in 30 yrs., he has never been in such a position.
And the kicker, it´s been raining, and the other side of the same runway as the crash is experiencing a land/mud slide as we speak. The firemen and engineers are all out there oogling the slide.
BTW The Sonesta was 63USD per night if paid in advance, no refund. It is clean, has a hip bar/restaurant. And the rooms are clean and modern. Sliding door balconies. However, it was cold. No heating. No significant amenities. The business ctr. is only avail. during the week.
I moved to the Pestana. It´s much better positioned to everything. Of course Gaugin, Photo, and clinica Kin are close.
The Pestana is a solid 4 star hotel (so was the Sonesta, but this a step up; but somehow still not a 5 star).
It´s in Jardines, at the end next to Paraiso. Much more accessable to Centro and all else. Although only 4 blocks from Paulista, it´s a butt busting climb. And I did it yest. at night. I found it a bit intimidating. I won´t do it again at night.
Parque Ibiripuera ia a 5-6 block walk, downhill. You end up at the lagoa. Opposite end of the park from the modern art museum (Bienal). It´s a bit too much of a walk all the way around, so I took a short cab. Be sure to check out all 4 or 5 museums on the site. Don´t go on the weekend. It´s packed, with lines. Not during the week.
I think I will stay in Jardines nextime, but closer to the other end (near Agusta). I have been pleased with the Estanplaza in the past (on al. Jau, between Pamplona e Campinas).
Excellent Samba club on Angelica (#2333). It´s a bit "yuppy", but fun.
I can´t believe I´ve been here 7 times and have never been to Kilt. I got involved at Vagão once, before making it next door to Kilt.
Kilt is freakin unbelievable. MANY 9´s and some 10´s. Plenty of 8´s. a table. 30R for general admittance. Drinks v. reasonable.

I just got back yesterday. I was in SP for 18 days. My 7th. time there, and my Portugese is essentially fluent by now.
It's been 4 years, now, of this relationship with Brazil. I think I finally have a good feel of many of the significant spots spoken of here on the forum, as well as on gpguia and nossoforum.
Spanish will help. My first trip (to Rio) I only spoke Spanish. It didn't help quite as much as I had hoped. Thats why I went for Portugese. But I find that many more of the gals in SP speak Spanish than in Rio. As a matter of fact, at least 5 times this trip, I was hanging with a garota who asked if I spoke Spanish. Many of them go to Spain to work for a few months at a time. So I think they want to practice.
I never made it to Cafe Gaugin. It is very well spoken of here. I was staying at the Sonesta Hotel (on Ave. Iberipuera, in Moema). Quite close to where you will be, on Ave. das Nacoes Unidas. It opens at 8 pm. But I never made it. It is in Moema, so a good bet for you to try.
I would avoid Cafe Photo. I have never been. I am aware thaat the garotas there are quite hot. But my buddy went there one night (while I went to Millenium) and he called me from there saying they are all asking at least 500 BRL for an hr. or two. I have heard other accounts of them asking 600 or 700 also. If you want to check it, please report back. But my Swiss buddy, who is loaded, left.I think Photo is also in the Moema area.
The best "clinica", IMHO is The Palms. All the other clinicas I have been to have a good selection of 6's, 7's, and maybe an 8. I would suggest STRONGLY, that you get to know Bomboa. It's on the other side of "Jardines" from you. But don't let distance get between you and there! It is one of my 2 favorites now. It is open during the day (at 2 pm). The larger area opens at 5 pm, with a live band (very good), a Sushi bar, and a full menu. The gals are 7-9.5. They are consistently high quality time. The management is very involved with your having a good time. Staff is v. friendly. And the gals aren't too aggressive. They all asked 300 at first, and I always had my counter of 250 BRL accepted. The rooms are nice. Open till 4.
I will chime in more soon; but my other STRONG suggestion is Kilt. It is in Centro ( a 20-30 min drive for you) longer in the killer rush hour traffic. It doesn't open until 10. But the girls are 7-9.5. The energy is great. The gals a re a bit more "mercenary", but I had two very good experiences there. One came over to the hotel a couple times ( by that time I had moved to the Pestana Hotel in Jardines. A much better location to everything). They have rooms on site, but I hear they suck. Next morning I took my TAM plane to Sao Paulo Congonhas. I guess few people have witnessed major airplane crash, firemen where still trying to control the fire when I landed. All the international press was on site, I tried to avoid the cameras, didn’t want to appear on TV while I was supposed to be thousands of km from Sao Paulo. I could easily find Bahamas and entered.

Kilt is one of my favorites, smaller, older club. Bahamas is newer more girls and more upscale.
O'Malleys is a nice Irish Pub, not too many working girls there, when I have been there.

I would not take the closing of Bahamas too seriously. Bahamas has been closed several times in the past too and the owner has even been sent to jail for storing illegal weapons inside Bahamas.
This guy knows how to make a deal with the police, so he has always managed to keep out of jail and keep Bahamas open.

the whole thing has been a little unsettling for me.
i arrived july 13th. and was staying at the sonesta (on av. iberipuera. 4 blocks from shopping ibiripuera; in moema). i just wanted to get the feel of another neighborhood.

i cancelled my plans for fortaleza the day before the crash. and i would have returned yesterday. all flights are now cancelled from congonhas. and it is playing hell with cancellations all over the country.

i´ve heard lots. but what seems to be a big problem is that the military and civil branches share and overlap many responsibilities. and there is animosity between them. not to mention communications issues.
a flight from the us had to return yesterday because when he entered brazilian airspace (zone 4, in the north west|). he lost all tower contact. apparently he announced to the cabin that in 30 yrs., he has never been in such a position.
and the kicker, it´s been raining, and the other side of the same runway as the crash is experiencing a land/mud slide as we speak. the firemen and engineers are all out there oogling the slide.
btw the sonesta was 63usd per night if paid in advance, no refund. it is clean, has a hip bar/restaurant. and the rooms are clean and modern. sliding door balconies. however, it was cold. no heating. no significant amenities. the business ctr. is only avail. during the week.
i moved to the pestana. it´s much better positioned to everything. of course gaugin, photo, and clinica kin are close.

ThanksIt was my first and only time there. You have to google search for the address but this club is in the middle of nowhere IMHO. It cost $R50 by taxi for me to get back to the Ave Paulista area. I don't think there is take-out, like Bamboa or Cafe Millenium it is not set up for take-out (at least not inexpensively . . . like Kilt, etc.) There were a lot of nice-looking, cute girls there. Since it was my first and only time there, I don't know what the turnover is like. I just remember it was Bingo night and it was a lot of fun with many local Brazilian customers and yet many GDPs were still available. Nice strip shows as well.

You will find a lot of SW around (and inside) Parque da Luz. You will find there what you are looking for : older and plumpier GDP. Most of them are what we call «vintoes» = 20 reais GDP. Expect to pay 10 reais for a nearby « hotel ».

There’s a lot of SW working on Rua Augusta, Centro, especially between Caio Prado and Avenida Paulista. The activity usually starts around 10 pm and it can last until 4am or 5am.
There’s also some activity on rua Bela Cintra, rua Fernando Albuquerque, rua Martins Fontes. Another good location is the rua Nestor Pestana, near the clubs and the “boates”.
Habitually the girls bring their « preys » to the hotel Destak, 46 rua Haddock Lobo, Itamar, Grant’s, Savoy Palace, Metropolis, Turim
Other famous spots, not too far from the aforementioned sites, are Praça Paissandu, Santa Efigenia, Praça do Correio, Anhangabú.
Praça da República is close (almost central) to all these districts in São Paulo.
A little off centro, there’s also SW activity on avenida Indianópolis, on Santa Eulália and, finally, near the Jockey Club. On the other side of the Pinheiros river, there’s activity on Butantã.
It’s always risky to venture in these districts at night and the SWs are, generally, below average.
In my humble opinion, there’s nothing good to find there.

In 2002/2003 I visited 2 red-light streets and never felt unsafe, day or night : Madrid's Calle Montado in the center just off the Gran Via thoroughfare and Calle Ramon in Barcelona, a few blocks behind the Teatro Liceu.

Don't worry about the tourists thing. São Paulo is not relaly a touristic destination : no beaches, no termas....it's just a goddam big city. But I guess that you're not afraid of this metropolitan configuration since you're coming from N.Y. (By the way, hello! I'm from Montreal...just a couple of hours (8 hours by car) from the Big Apple).
If you visit Parque da Luz pay a visit to the museum (pinacoteca) and to the famous Estação da Luz (that was built by the British, if am not wrong). If you were fluent in Portuguese, I would also advise you to visit the Museu da língua portuguesa.
Don't worry there's also activity around Parque da Luz during the day time...a lot of school busses bring young - and older - children to visit the museums.

Yes, Sampa is a little safer, because the favelas are not located right next to the main tourist areas, like they are in Rio.

I first visited Brasil in 2003. I immediately fell in love with the country. And more specifically with Brasileiras. I now am married to a Brasilian woman, conduct business there and own some property. I often see comments back and forth on this board among old hands and newbies. From my perspective:
1) Places like Bahamas and Foto are great. But very expensive relative to other readily available options in SP
2) Clinicas de massagem, combined with using the google translator to be able to read "test drive" information from the GPguia site are very good value and with proper research you will rarely be disappointed. An added bonus is the places are clean and secure
3) I would never touch a SW or even visit the down-town area. To me it is tempting fate in an already potentially dangerous city to spend time in an area that is known to have problems. That is my personal choice and not a criticism of those that like that type of scene.
4) Sao Paulo is a city of almost 20 million people. There is a very limited social safety net and as a result there is a large proportion of desperate people. They want to eat and taking what you have may help them to do that. Using simple common sense will probably ensure that you never have a problem in SP. (take taxis at night, don't walk around in areas where no people are evident, don't flash a wallet or alot of cash. I always carry a photocopy of my passport, one credit card and leave 20 or 40 Reais in cash in my front pocket that I intend to give it up if ever confronted)
5) I can get by in Portuguese now and speak French and English fluently; Language is not an issue as men and women always find a way to communicate where sex is involved. (and let's face it. It is refreshing sometimes to not have a woman turn around and say "let's talk". LOL)

(1) Full service is included as part of the price depending on the clinic. Of the four clinics that I have listed, Full service is not included for the Dra. Oyama clinic, where a handjob is included with the price. Oral costs additional are$50 and FS with oral will cost are$100. If you don't know portuguese, some of the girls will try to charge more. I went with a friend who did not know portuguese and he was charged are$150 for FS + oral. He just agreed to what the price she was quoting. Make sure to bargain with the girls. The other three clinics (Antares, Cherry, and Quatro Estacao) includes full service as part of the price. It usually starts with a massage, but sometimes the massage is skipped. The majority of clinics I've visited do include intercourse in the price. You may have to include a tip for anal intercourse depending on the clinic you select. The term "Massagem Completa" service means the deed is included. That would be in about 95 out of every 100 clinicas if you check out sites such as gpguia. If you are that close to Rua Augusta, the place to visit is New Maison (650 Rua Augusta). The place is cheap, clean, rooms with shower. The ladies, are relatively inexpensive (Room with shower I think is R22, the girl gets R70 for an hour of fun). Been there everytime I've been to Sampa and it doesn't dissapoint. Glad the clinic information was helpful. What they charge at Dra. Oyama is $R150 for massage which includes a "manual release". For FS, the girls will charge you another are$100 which you pay directly to them. Are$250 is what they charge the locals. I like Dra. Oyama because it is a first class establishment, very clean. It is one of nicest massage place I've been to. Dra. Oyama is the closest massage clinic that I've been in Brasil that is comparable to Thailand, but Thailand is better. You should try Dra. Oyama at least once. You will find the service to be better. :.)

If you are that close to Rua Augusta, the place to visit is New Maison (650 Rua Augusta). The place is cheap, clean, rooms with shower. The ladies, are relatively inexpensive (Room with shower I think is R22, the girl gets R70 for an hour of fun). Been there everytime I've been to Sampa and it doesn't dissapoint. I just got back from spending the last 10 days in Sao Paulo. Here is the status based on personal observation:
Open: "New" Romanza (under new management and MUCH better); Solid Gold; Kilt (although without full nude dancers) and all the other clubs on the same street; Cafe Photo (at least as of last Friday, but one girl did tell me they were the next "target")
Closed: Garden Club; Bahamas
I was told Bomboa had been closed but was now open again, but I cannot attest to that personally.
In general, the clubs being targetted are the ones with "rooms" or "cabines" on site. I suppose it is much harder to "fence" something that is basically a bar for all intents and purposes (like Photo) and keep it closed.
I'll be back again in a few weeks...it will be interesting to see how many of the closures are temporary.
I am planning to go to Curitiba from Sao Paulo. Does anyone have any idea the time it will take by bus and the website of the bus schedule?

I'm glad to report that the classic establishment, Cafe Photo, is still open for business. I was there last Thu and it was buzzing. However, noticed many asian men, and that the quality of the girls seem to have dropped since my last visit.
