Vila Olimpia/Itaim Bibi is the epicenter of SP regular nightlife.
If you have some "game" and cultural awareness, try Boogie, Corleonne Bar, Dublin, Show Bar, Favela, Rey Castro, Moca Bonita, The Bar, ect ... there is literally hundreds of options in this neighborhood. Go there with a positive, confident mood, don't be shy, be charming, and your chances to score will be quite high. Regular Paulistas are MUCH more approachable than their Carioca counterparts.
There's also in Vila Olimpia the most popular after-hours club in town, Lov.e. A crazy place, especially on Wed "funk carioca" parties, always loaded with all kind of people including GdPs (off duty) from nearby upmarket boates.

Bobagens is the plural form of "bobagem". It can be used as an interjection like : Bobagem! (Nonsense! Idle talk!) or in a sentence like «Isso é bobagem» (This is nonsense!).
Habitually it occurs with the cooccurrent verb falar: to talk nonsense, fiddle faddle.
For example, if a GP says that she likes you a lot, that you're very special, that she consider you as a lover and not a costumer, you may reply with this word: Bobagem!

I have a trip to Brazil in two weeks. I will be flying to Sao Paulo, but my final destination is Sao Jose Dos Campos wher I will be there for a week before heading home. I did lots of searches on the Brazil board but can't find any mongering information on this city.
I also know it is a small obscure place, but was wondering if there are any mongering establishments such as termas or clinicas. Etc for some fun.
Kindly, if you know any information, please pass it on. My travel plan is strict and will not allow me to spend time in Sao Paulo, otherwise, the I would have used the many institutions available there.

I checked the wonderful info on this thread. But a first timer like me could really use some updating (the Mercour Jardin went from $50 to over $150 since 2005? )
Could any kind soul recommend:
A) a place to stay for 4-6 nights? Preference would be for somewhere very close to the fun and service providers along with good food nearby? From the thread, it looks like Jardin sounds good for a first timer. But the hotels seemed to have changed. Not too expensive (<$100) and free airport shuttle or direct transport from GUH would be a big plus.
B) Once in the wonderful hotel, could someone recommend the clubs, clinics, privites (sorry for the mangled spelling but I don't know any Portugese, sigh! ) nearby that a first timer should try out?
C) Lastly I'm very much into forming a relationship with a "regular" who is very, very liberal minded when it comes to services, can introduce friends, stays over, and likes to have fun by showing someone all the sights and sounds of SP for a few days at the nightspots, restaurants, beaches, etc? Some english would help a lot. Bella was recommended earlier. Is she still around?

Yes, Jardim are is very nice to stay and relatively safe. Also, you can find nice restaurants and you are not too far from some "boite" night-clubs where you can hook-up with girls. A hotel I can recommend is actually a "flat", a simple hotel where you have a living room + bedroom + bathroom. It is Opera in Alameda Lorena between Bela Cintra and Haddock Lobo, you can find info on www.transamericaflats.com.br (only portuguese version) promotional cost R 209,00 , around US$ 122.

Some time ago Rua Augusta area was a good spot. Maybe some other members can update. Otherwise many "garota de programa" i.e. pro's live in apartments in that area, so either you go to their place or call them in

Just for the forum's info, I went back to the Transamerica website. For some reason, the english reservation page kept on saying that all their hotels were booked no matter what date or what hotel. So I emailed them directly and got a booking at Opera.

I'm sitting here in the Transamerica Flat Opera in sprawling SP! Location of this place is wonderful (and many thanks to AP and all the others who contributed). Just one block from Oscar Freire which is billed as one of the world's 10 most fashionable streets (sort of the 5th Ave of SP but on a much more enjoyable and human scale). Embassies are close by, so it is a green and safe neighborhood mixed with chic high rises.
Prices are high in the neighborhood. But with reasonable food & drink (including mixed stuff like cabriha (sp) in the open air white tiled places on many street corners, life is good.
Haven't checked it out but the Villa Olympia and Itiambib nonpro nightlife is in the neighborhood next door.
Getting from airport was no problem (even for non Portugese speaking first timer). Tourist desk either reccomended an airport bus (28R) to Paulista Ave + a short walk or a special airport taxi to the door (85R). I've discovered that Paulistas are very respectful and will not bother you. But give anyone a smile and all is warmth, openess, and help.
On to garota-dom, as dierected in this wonderful forum, Flat Opera \ Jardin is so convenient, it's obscene. Upmarket Bilbao\J. America\D are a short walk away! Augusta clubs just up Agusta a bit more of a trip. The Privees are similar distance. So pretty much all hear except the climics of Campo Bello anf Brooklyn (closer to the airport).
Prices are much higher than Thailand, Malaysia, China, Vietnam. But the ladies are much more liberated and seem to enjoy it all much more. Must be the culture: porn DVDs are sold in gas stations, erotic nude posters on corner magazine stands, Flat Opera receptionist doesn't bat an eyelash as you bring a parade of girls in (hint: smile a lot and talk to the hotel staff). Open advertising offering to be in porn films with garotas quite proud to tell you about porn films they have been in.
I've never seen so many orgasms in one place before. Not the fake moans. But the screaming, thrashing multiples body spasms that messes up hair, make up, and leaves them shattered breathing too hard to talk.
Also the variety! Blondes. Brunettes, blue eyes, green, red heads, white, brown black. Can't find this in east asia.

SkyMy Love and Love Story are two very different clubs. My Love is across the street from Kilt --- I have browsed there a few times and find I always end up back in Kilt. The girls in My Love seem a bit more "detached" then do the ones in Kilt.

On Saturday, I returned to Bomboa, one of my favorite haunts. As reported earlier, the prices are outrageous -- R$180 entry fee plus R$80 for a room. I took my time while I was there. I wanted to survey the scene thoroughly before making a choice. And I ate my dinner there in a modest effort to recoup some of the entry fee. The food was not memorable, but it was filling. My experiences there ("your mileage may vary"):
1. Business casual (the girls tend to dress up a bit more here than other clubs)
2. Show up -- no reservation necessary
3. Basically, it is a single club on three floors. There is a private "VIP Club", but it is nothing worth investigating. "floating" between the first and second flors always worked well for me.
4. "Fortune" is relative. Figure on spending about $200BR for admission, drinks, etc. Girls will generally start by asking for $600BR, but many will settle for something closer to $400BR if you treat them as ladies --- be nice, show respect, and treat them well.
I have never felt disappointed in any experience at Photo.

3. I've only been to three floors.
4. I've been lucky to get free entrance through someone I know. But the girls are typically R$500 TLN.

After an absence to the city of magic of more than a year it was finally time to come back to my favourite hunting ground. Although my regular spots W.E. and Bahamas had been shut down, my favourite namorada Miss F had married, left town and retired from the business and the Madame I used to set up high end escorts with had been arrested, I was pretty confident that this trip would turn out to be just as pleasurable as my other visits.

The fact that the hotel is just a few years old, very beautiful both inside and outside, very girl friendly and with balconies outside all the rooms makes this my number one choice in town. The price is somewhat lower than the other high end hotels like Emiliano, Unique, Grand Hyatt and Fasano.
After I had checked in, I showered, shaved and tried to freshen up as much as possible before putting the same clothes back on. Then I headed down to the reception and met my taxi driver.
The taxi driver first headed for my date for the evenings apartment. Her name was Sabrina and her apartment was actually very close to the restaurant I had chosen for dinner - Massimo. When we arrived the taxi driver stepped out of his car, approached the front door and buzzed her bell. It took a while before she responded and the taxi driver told me that she will be ready in 5 minutes.
The girl that approaches the car five minutes later is very smartly dressed in a suite, not stunning but pretty and a big bonus is that she speaks English. I have also been told that she is very liberated when it comes to the bed related activities.

Having had the opportunity to go to the high and low end establishments (R600 - R1000 per session + extras), I must say it is just a matter of value and time, how you balance and use either your money or time. If you can afford the services of a high end provider without breaking a sweat, go for it. But in my humble opinion, there really isn't that much difference in the level of performance. Yes, the high level places do provide more 9's and 10's than a low end establishments, however, many of the low end establishments do have 9's and 10's as well. If you have an ample supply of time, I'd say go to as many low end establishments so you can see for yourself what they have to offer. If you have no time and wish to get busy with that 9 or 10 + knockout, then you better hit the high end establishment as soon as you hit the ground. It will cost you an arm and a leg, but you will be happy you got the opportunity to get serviced by someone that looks like she came out out of a high fashion magazine. If you have the time, like I do on my many travels, I make a list of places to hit and I hit as many as I can. I usually find 5 or 6 real knockouts along the way who perform above and beyond my expectations. Of course, they get my repeat business, maybe an overnight stay at my hotel, and they get all my money (No more than R250 + cabfare); but the memories last a lifetime. The last time there (Dec 07) I'd never seen so many 8+'s in both Rio or Sao Paolo, I'd chalk that up to needing money for the holidays. In my opinion, the quality of providers is going up, not down. I was awaken by the phone early this morning. I had set up a date with a magazine model to come to my hotel at 14:00 this afternoon and to stay 4 hours. The phone call was to inform me that she would arrive two hours earlier than planned. Since I had only brought USD with me and this girl needed to be paid in cash I had to exchange some money before she arrived. I showered and shaved and hurried down to the reception.
On my previous visit there was a cambio with great exchange rates in the neighbour building Torre Norte. As I understood it the Torre Norte was sort of a stock market building and the cambio down in the basement inside the travel agency always kept exchange rates according to the market rate. This cambio was very small and it was more than a year since I was there so instead of rushing over with a lot of cash in my pockets and risking having to walk back without any luck if the cambio wasn't there anymore I asked a receptionist where the closest cambio was. He told me that I had to go to Shopping Morumbi to exchange my dollars or they could do it at the hotel but at a very poor rate. I asked about the cambio across the street in Torre Norte but he told me that there was no cambios within walking distance. This meant that I had to skip the planned lunch at noon at the Japanese restaurant Mosaic today and instead have the taxi driver take me to Shopping Morumbi to exchange money when he was supposed to show up at around 11:30. I am a little dissappointed that I didn't check if the cambio was there before I decided to go to Shopping Morumbi because when I checked later in the week it was still there. It would have saved me both time and money to have checked this.
After the exchange was taken care of and the taxi driver had returned me to the hotel I had a small lunch at the hotel and ordered a couple of caipirinhas up to my room. Exactly on time the phone rang and the receptionist informed me that my date was waiting for me in the reception. I had to come down to sign her in.
The girl I met in the reception looked similar to the pictures I had seen in Sexy magazine but even though it was clearly the same girl, the pictures in the magazine was clearly edited to some degree. Having had the opportunity to go to the high and low end establishments (R600 - R1000 per session + extras), I must say it is just a matter of value and time, how you balance and use either your money or time. If you can afford the services of a high end provider without breaking a sweat, go for it. But in my humble opinion, there really isn't that much difference in the level of performance. Yes, the high level places do provide more 9's and 10's than a low end establishments, however, many of the low end establishments do have 9's and 10's as well. If you have an ample supply of time, I'd say go to as many low end establishments so you can see for yourself what they have to offer. If you have no time and wish to get busy with that 9 or 10 + knockout, then you better hit the high end establishment as soon as you hit the ground. It will cost you an arm and a leg, but you will be happy you got the opportunity to get serviced by someone that looks like she came out out of a high fashion magazine. If you have the time, like I do on my many travels, I make a list of places to hit and I hit as many as I can. I usually find 5 or 6 real knockouts along the way who perform above and beyond my expectations. Of course, they get my repeat business, maybe an overnight stay at my hotel, and they get all my money (No more than R250 + cabfare); but the memories last a lifetime. The last time there (Dec 07) I'd never seen so many 8+'s in both Rio or Sao Paolo, I'd chalk that up to needing money for the holidays. In my opinion, the quality of providers is going up, not down. Funny how things never seem to go according to plan.
I arrived on the early flight to Sao Paulo yesterday. Immigration was quick and I was in my hotel (Hilton Morumbi) by 10:00 AM. I hesitated in favor of Kilt, but my Brazilian colleague from Rio did not want to go all the way to Centro. So Romanza it was.
Entrance was R$70 and no drink included. We arrived about 10:00 PM and it was just starting to fill up. By midnight, there was probably 50 girls and about 30 guys. Girls were all very nice. Normally, I would adopt a more sarcastic tone and say RTFF (Read The Fucking Forum) but since I am sitting in the airport waiting for a flight and a little bored out my mind, I'll take a stab.
Both Termas and Clinicas are fronts for sex. They hide lightly behind a thin veil pretending to be spas where you can go for a shower, a steam and a massage. In the Termas in Rio, you are issued with a locker and a key. The key serves as your number for billing purposes. You are given a minimal bath robe and some flip flops (plastic sandals). Once you have showered the road dust off, you can go to a boate (bar) to a get a drink. The better ones offer a full bar. In the boate there are anywhere from a few to a few dozen girls who are wearing very little. Usually some sort of bikini or other minimal covering. The idea is that you come and sit have a drink and interact with one of the pretty girls. If you find one you like, you can take them back to one fo the several rooms or cabins that they have on the premises for a fixed fee normally charged by the 40 minute or one hour session.
The Clinicas are similar (although I must confess I have never tried a SP Clinica) but differ in that there is less of a bar atmosphere and a little more spa-like (or so I have been led to believe). I also think that in the Clinia, you have less opportunity to interract casually with the girls and must make a selection when you arrive. Sounds to me like a Russian Salona.
So that's basically it in a nutshell. I am sure my fellow ISG members can add additional detail and if you scour the forum you will find much, much greater detailed description. I should also mention that these girls are pros. They know what they are doing and are very good at it. Unlike a typical boates where you may find a gorgeous creature who is not very skilled in the sexual arts, the girls at Termas and Clinicas know what they are doing and if you ask up front and make it clear what you want, will fulfill your desires.

I stayed there last November, but wouldn’t repeat. It’s a cool hotel, but it’s in the middle of nowhere. (It’s also expensive.) It’s a 15-minute uphill walk to get to the subway, and the area is full of private medical clinics (not clinicas.) The rooftop bar is cool and has a fantastic view of the skyline(s). It’s supposed to be a hotspot, but I found it rather lame.
The only saving grace is that there’s a privé next door: I think the address is Av. Brigadeiro Luís Antônio, 4554. 5-6 girls working, I think the service was R$100 a pop, and unfortunately CBJ, but the girls had great attitudes. I’d stop by again if ever in the neighborhood.

Okay, this is not a hotel, but I did visit. It took quite an effort for the taxi driver to find the place, and it seems quite far from public transportation. In 2 weeks I will be arriving in SP for my first taste of brazillian action. To date I have been active in asia. Phillipines, China, Hong Kong and Thailand. So I am looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about and after reading 70 pages of the forum (please no RTFF comments) am looking for some advice.

I went to Cafe Photo after a while last night. The club is run better than any of the ones I know that are still in operation. The line up was better than Garden club and Cafe Gagugin (even on a Friday). As someone had observed earlier in the form, the ratio of women to men is really lopsided to our advantage more so than before. Given the recent closures of some good establishments the better known clubs have an unusual number of hotties. It was hard to make up my mind given the number of 8's and 9's in the house. After a few conversations, I saw this strikingly beautiful slim blond, about 5'10'' tall. Given my limited language skills it was a rough start but after a few sentences in Portuguese mixed with Spanish I got her to smile and then the conversation flowed a bit freely. Lu , 23 years old, has been in the business for less than a year, working in W.E. a well known estabilishment that is now closed. The down point is that this city is very expensive. I have dollars in my pockets but at $1.6 Real’s per dollar, an R$500 night means $312.00 USD.
I know that in this city should be places for locals that cost no more than $80 Real’s for complete. I ask to locals and residents to share this information before I leave so I could have a real taste of Sao Paulo and Brazil.

I've been in SP for 5 days in August. I had read with a lot of interest reports by fellow mongers, especially those about Rua Augusta, as my hotel (Renaissance) was close to there. Try Balnearos (sp?) on Augusta in the daytime if you feel unsafe at night.

Sao Paulo is a big city, could be expensive but like some friend’s here post you could find some good things at a fair price.
Yesterday was my last day at Sao Paulo so I went to Rua BELA CINTRA and FERNANDO ALBULQUERQUE. There were no less that 10 working girls. I saw at least five that were no less than 8. The most beautiful were a blonde with big breast and a true red head, the one I chose. This girl is called Aline or something similar. I didn't pay an exit fee (only drinks and food) but I knew Sol and Jorge (the boss) so they might have left it out since I was there 9 nights in two weeks.

Went to Clinica Kin around 7PM and had to wait an hour, service is still good, took the 4 hands special which is a good deal and let the first girl pick the second one, which in my experience is better as she will choose someone she likes to work with. Once recharged, headed to Cafe Gauguin across from the Grand Estanplaza, saw my favorite Isadora who asked for R$700 but quickly agreed to US$200, which she thought was equivalent to R$500 (she is good at many things, including Greek, but not math... that is about R$350). I did not feel bad about it as R$400 seems a common price in SP, gave her a R$50 tip.
Cafe Gauguin had a lot of pretty girls and few customers, beware of the very expensive Champagne the bartender will suggest for the girls.

After landing at the local airport, one thing that has changed is that you used to get a meter cab just outside the doors of the airport. Now, you have to take the pre-paid cabs which cost a little more.
The plan for today was to land, get in a cab and meet my buddy at Fogo de Chao. The pre-paid cab cost me r$25 for a very short cab ride. Next time, I will go up to the second floor and catch a meter taxi dropping someone off.
I meet my buddy at fogo de chao, if you have never been, this is one good churascaria. The food and service is excellent. One thing about s/p, as GK had pointed out long ago, the culinary delights are second to none.
After dinner, my buddy didn't want to go out. Because of all the clubs that were closed down I wanted to at least show him one high end nightclub. I was going to take him to cafe photo, but he insisted he was tired and just wanted to rest.
At least earlier in the day back in Rio I had one of the best experience of my trip so far, so I was a happy camper.
We went back to the hotel, we shared the room because he was only staying until Sunday. I had prepaid the hotel and got the room for two persons. I was planning on some incall later in the week.

Final day in Brazil. My flight out is at 20:30. I figured I must leave the hotel around 16:00 - 16:30 because of the famous s/p traffic.

Really nice reports! If you enjoy Jun Sakamoto you should try the newly reopened and relocated Japanese restaurant Kinoshita. Be sure to order the Menu Degustation and ask for the sake marinated Lychee fruits filled with foie gras and topped with truffle and salmon roe or the fresh scallops topped with warm truffle oil and parmesan shavings. This place is better than Jun Sakamoto in my opinion.
The prices at Cafe Photo is is varying according to which girl you pick up if it is a slow night and your negotiation skills. On my last trip I usually managed to negotiate the price down to R$500 for the night, but one particualr diamond I took on a slow day without much competition for her was much more (still worth it though).
You didn't try Garden Club? Just as many lookers as Cafe Photo but with a more informal and relaxed atmosphere and lower prices.

Quackup, I enjoyed reading both your Rio and S/P reports. I've been to Rio 4 times but never S/P. Seems S/P is quite expensive as the Rio Termas you can get out with about R240 damage for an hour at 4x4 after 5pm and R200 before 5pm. The incall action seems like the only good value in S/P.

For sure for the newbie, I would tell them to go to Rio first. It is much easier with the termas and just about everything is easy to get to with the metro system.
In Sao Paulo, it's such a big city, depending on where you are staying, it could become very expensive just to get to a club. Also the traffic in s/p is pretty bad. I live in L.A., where traffic is bad. S/p is worst.
In Rio, you can get any color girl you like, but mostly there are darker skin girls. Most are down to earth and if you connect, it's better than having a girlfriend.
In s/p, you can get any color girl you like, but there are more light skin girls.
The girls here are, for lack of a better word, more sophisticated. I don't mean to imply they are snobish or arrogant, but usually they are better dressed ( if you go to dinner, they dress to impress without overdoing it).

Quackup, thanks for the comparisons. It helps me understand the differences now. If I ever make it to S/P, I will definitely try some of their restaurants and then try to hookup with a pornstar like Patricia Kimberly. I hear her rate is pretty normal - something like R250 for 2 hours.

I was unsure if EU&Elas was eventually also hit by the crackdown, but I was glad to see it in full operation.
For people who don’t know, as it is almost never written about this place, EU&Elas seems to be some kind of middle class Termas spot, compared to the old luxury spots probably 2nd grade, but it has a 37 year history.
Entrance is 89 Reais, which includes the buffet and 2 drinks. Somehow reasonable.
The girls are not necessarily top class, and my Simone was missing, but you find nice ones in the range of 6-8+ with average of about 7-7,5. They remembered me in EU&Elas and my story with Simone.
I was rather late so not much time to relax in the terma. I chose a black haired girl an 8 (sorry forgot name) and we went to a 1 h session. Tried to ask for 100, but as already experienced last time the usual price for 1h is 150 Rs. So I accepted the counter offer.
The session was pretty ok but also not that outstanding (still I remember my sessions with Simone and Patricia Kimberly at my last trips) given my extremely good paste experiences. All girls are GFE types, so it seems pretty standard, so I wouldn’t expect somebody to fail in this place. Of course always chemistry is where YMMV or exceed. Would like to read more reports about this place for a broader evaluation. I ended up paying 290 Rs with incl. a 50 RS room kit.
Part 2 adventure:
After the session, I had already my clothes on and was having my last drink, almost all girls had already left, my eyes noticed a very slim and tall blonde Garota – Sally as it turned out. Nice face and figure a touch of my lovely Simone, but white skin. We came into ‘talk’ (none Portuguese to none English) and agreed that she comes with me to my room for 2 h and 200 Rs. (she asked for 200 1h first but instead of price down I requested 2h for same price – I had to take into account my long trip from Seoul + already 1 round of girl). I was already tired, but given the beauty I also couldn’t resist.
Hotel Renaissance asks and registers the ID, but no extra charge on the bill (which is not good on a company bill). In the room Sally turns out to be a good girl friend experience ready to enjoy herself and to please. She can’t stay all night (baby), but some 3-4h would be ok. An advantage is that she may accept 200 or 250 for 3-4h, which is somehow reasonable.
Anyhow I told her that I would call her when I will be next in town and she left with a lot of deep kisses.
Part 3 adventure
The last night I was able to monger, I again wanted to be on the save side and I had already just after arrival arranged the 2nd evening was reserved fro Patricia Kimberly. I was lucky that she had time, she remembered me on the phone as the one with the ‘best tongue and kisses and was looking forward to see me. We agreed to 400 Rs for 3h +Taxi where she asks for the real amount and no surcharge (it was 18 rs from her apartment). An all nighter would have been 600 Rs, which I will consider next time. I was trying to rebook her for the whole night but she apologised, as she had to go to some government place next morning. By the way, she speaks well English, not a natural speaker (I am none either), but way enough for good conversation of any type.
She arrived absolutely on time and greeted me in front of Hotel, where I waited for her Taxi to arrive, like an old friend. She was looking nice, only little makeup like women who go out (see photo’s). I could have gone with her to any diner and club and you can take her everywhere, introduce her as your girlfriend and nobody may notice her job. Good adopted attitude at any occasion.
I am not sure how to describe further:
Patricia Kimberly comes across like a real live girlfriend may not be able to beat. You can love this girl, regardless her job. She would be the perfect girlfriend.
She has the nicest body according to my taste. She shows her natural skin with almost no makeup, no ambition to hide anything. You can talk with her about everything, the job, politics, world climate, travel, … .She is absolutely honest in all she talks, no fakes no hides.
She told me a lot about her life, the Brazilian porn scene, and her family.
In the bed she seems to like everything. She pleases you as you like and accommodates to the style you prefer. But the softer style is more appreciated. She also likes to be treated well, and rather smooth with kisses. In Brazil, the acronym TLN is not really used. It's more usual to speak in terms of PERNOITE (the whole night) or the verb PERNOITAR (spending the whole night).

On my way to Manus, via Sao Paulo on Tam, I stayed at the Hotel Itamaraty near Praca da Republica for 2 days at 70 reais per day at the end of September. Small but comfortable apartment, excellent breakfast, in room safe and plenty of central heater hot water. Several low cost venues within walking distance, including a couple of sleazy movie theaters. Easy access to the Republica metro station and the bus to the international Airport has a stop nearby as well, a bargain at 28 reais.

Paid the 13 Reais entrance fee and was checked in by the guy with the metal detector, my pocket rocket set off the detector, so I showed it to him and told him it was a flashlight and I was in.
I sat down in my prefered area, mid theater off to the right side and within minutes my favorite, Caroll was on my lap and all over me. IMHO - Your money will go much further in Rio. All things considered, you will spend more in SP. Unless you are in SP on business and have expenses subsidized- don't bother. Again, just my humble opinion.

Let me work out the logistics a bit more. I was looking at Hostels, nice and cheap, but no business in Sampa other than too, you know... Touristy stuff during the day (maybe Clinic or two), straight up debauchery at night. I think 3 days might be enough in SP.
Which night is best for Love Story? I also heard about The Week as well, in the same areas???

I found that getting around Sao Paulo is expensive relative to Rio. I dunno - it's probably my imagination as I am much more familiar with Rio than Sao Paulo. Don't get me wrong, Sao Paulo is a GREAT city- great bars, wonderful restaurants, interesting music. But if you are on a mongering vacation and it's your first time to Brazil, everything seems to be more..... efficient. GDP's in Copacabana, Termas and Massage places in Centro, plenty of cheap places to eat and drink.
When I go to Sao Paulo I just seem to burn through money much faster than in Rio - and not on girls, but restaurants, taxi, booze. And most of that is by choice I admit. I am a sucker for a great restaurant or a cool bar and and up spending more money that I should. It's just "that" much more sophisticated.
So to answer your question directly, I woulds not be surprised if you could get away with spending half to three quarters in Rio of what you would spend in SP (exclusive of girls) and still have a good time.

When you stay in Copacabana everything is not far: boates, termas and - if you are fluent - you can have access to the private flats of some garotas. And thoses beaches!!!! Wow, an easy spot to pick up girls...
However, I disagree with you on the following one. It's not really more expensive to travel within São Paulo than Rio. It's easy and not expensive to travel with the public transportation service in São Paulo. If you know where to go - and can aptly orient yourself in this mega city - buses and metros (subway) are very effective and quick means of transportation. Late at night, you'll have to take a cab, but then the circulation is more fluid and you will save money on the fare of the taxi run. I agree with you that a taxi ride in São Paulo during the day can be a nightmare, an expensive one!

From there you have easy access to Vila Mariana (where there are very interesting prives), Brooklin Novo (outstanding privés and clinica: Kin, Prive do HectorII), and several boates in Moema (including swing clubs like Nefertiti). This neigbourghood is very quiet - sometimes I walk there late at night - and there's a lot of restaurants. Finally most garotas live there. For R$200 - only if you're fluent though - you can stay the whole night (pernoite) with a garota.
Another good spot is Jardim. The same concentration of garotas but it's a little bit farther from the good boates in São Paulo (which are closer to Moema).

I most certainly defer to your experience when it comes to Sampa. I really do speak from inexperience when it comes to SP. All of my trips to Sampa seem to be rushed and short. Usually because I want to get in - get out and get to Rio - ha, ha, ha!
Seriously, though - I do need to resist the urge to get to Rio (familiar territory) and stay a while in Sampa. My Portuguese is good enough to communicate comfortably so there's no reason not to give it more of a chance. I am probably missing out!!!!

This a report of a 4-days business trip I made in Sao Paulo at the beginning of October.
I start with the day 1.
DAY 1
My trip to Sao Paulo started in the best possible way: at Frankfurt airport I was kindly upgraded from Business class to First class on my Lufthansa flight.
After a perfect flight (I could sleep a lot and that is very important for me in order to perform at my best on the following day. I am referring to the night activities of course…) my arrival at Cumbica International Airport (best known as Guarulhos) was exactly on time at 7.30 AM and in less than 30 minutes I was on the car sent to pick me up by my “paulista” business partner.
The trip to my the Intercontinental hotel required almost one hour, not so much considering the distance (more or less 35 km) and the peak-hour traffic. The hotel is convenient located in Alameda Santos (close to Avenida Paulista) that means it is not far from all my points of interest.
After a quick shower (and a long look to the cute receptionist…) at 10.15 I was back into the car, heading to my business partner ( I will call him Jairo from now on) office where I arrived at quarter to 11. The following 5 hours were spent discussing business matters not so important to write about here…
I have been knowing Jairo since 2000 and we are sort of friends so we agreed to meet for dinner later in the evening. In fact the dinner is an excuse he needs to have some time free from his wife on that night (third wife actually, and 30 years younger than him…) and the meeting was set for 7 o’clock PM at my hotel.

A Trash Tour is a visit of the most infamous spots in São Paulo. I mean by that: the several storeys building in Liberdade and near Praça da República (Itaiaia), the sleazy bars on Consolação, the street workers behind Praça da Sé, the porno theaters, theatro Orion, Estação da Luz, etc.
In a nutshell, all the places a stranger might be afraid to visit by himself.

I am totaly adicted to there, so I have not found anything close to that in that price range. There are many low cost options(30-60 reais) in Liberdade, but haven´t had the time or the need to go there yet.
Went to Eu&Ellas, last year, but it seemed like a frat house atmosphere. Free buffet of finger food, clean sauna and showers. We wore robes and the garotas had long dresses on. I'm staying in Sao Paulo for a couple of weeks over Christmas and want to be near the mongering action. I did some research on hotels and nightlife etc and ended up booking into the Hotel Moncloa on Rua Augusta. It's a mid class hotel with in room wifi (in-room internet is a must for me) and it's costing me 125 reais per night inclusive for a double room for 2 people.
I'm wondering if this is a good choice or whether fellow boarders can give me any other recommendations?
