I stayed at the Eversunshine hotel in Pudong (about $100 a night for a pretty good room). I was walking around i noticed a ton of working girls around here. On Pudong Nan lu to the Times Square shopping Mall (on block) there are 4 massage places on one side of the street. First, they have a new name…Sacrosa NCT Essence Sauna. It is still found by walking north past Nextage Mall on Pudong Lu and turning right into the very first alley way before you get to the Wagas Restaurant. My first try at downloading a scan! The white background cards are front and back for the 5f Sauna that used to me called Ming Dian and is located very near the Nextage Mall in Pudong behind Wagas. The reddish brown card is front and back for the B2 World Plaza sauna. Both offer 550 afternoon rates and very good tallent!

Both are withinn easy walking distance from the Dongchang exit of line 2 subway. ThanksIf looking for a hotel check out www.wotif.com They have good prices. Last time I stayed at Eversunshine, very nice for less than $100 including breakfast. You need a taxi to the sites but can find girls within walking distance.

1) I agree with the theory that the girls just think you are a fool if you overpay.

2) I believe that some girls give good service, others don't, for a myriad of reasons, regardless if you pay more, so long as it is not less than standard prices.

3) I never negotiate with a girl. If she offers ridiculous prices, I just walk regardless of how much I want to do her. Whenever I bargain, I usually end up with short service. The only exeption is when a mama trys to get another few RMB since she thinks I do not know any better. This is obvious to me by the way she approaches me and how quickly she reverts to the going rate when she realizes that I did not arrive yesterday.

I have never been to Shanghai. I get my fun down in Shenzhen and ChangPing, but let me chime in with my thoughts.

The western way of thinking is:
If he pays 300 instead of 200 (an extra 50%) it makes sense that the girl should give him extra service. Not an extra 50% in service, but maybe an extra 25%. Better service means he is more likely to repeat. Makes perfect business sense, charge 50% in price for an extra 25%. And it encourages repeat visits from a profitable customer.

But the BBS girls in China think:
Heeeeey...! He is willing to pay 300 instead of 200. He clearly does not know how the system works. If I can get away with charging an extra 100, maybe I can get away with other things too. For example: no BJ, refuse certain positions, etc. Or charge even more for these services.

Personally, I tend not to tip at all for performances that are merely "above average" or "good". But if her looks/service was outstanding (= some extra "flavours") I tend to tip big.

Yesterday I found another opportunity in Pudong, rapidly becoming the sporting capital of this land! The location is a bit obscure, but I think it will be worth the effort once they get themselves organised. It's out in the Jinqiao / Ningqiao industrial and business area, not far from the yuppie heartland on Biyun Rd. Turn left out of the Ramada, east on Biyun Rd.. Cross Jinqiao Rd, you are now on New Jinqiao Rd. , after less than 1km you will see some large tower blocks under construction and refurbishment. Turn left on Jinxiang Rd. On your right is a hotel (I forget the name. Tan Fu, perhaps? ), and at the base of the hotel is a typical row of shops and restaurants. Including the Hai Li Spa and Massage Centre. (This is not visible from New Jinqiao Road. You need to turn onto Jinxiang Road).

I did not have time to try their services, but had a look round and chat with the young lad on reception. It's very new, only just open, and very nicely done. Perhaps the best spa I've seen, in terms of ambience and cleanliness. Each room has a large bed and adjoining shower area, with either an airbed or horizontal shower bed. Very comfortable, like a good hotel room.

He quoted (RMB) 198 for straight oil massage, 398 for "special" massage. When I asked him about the full shower service he said 2000! I told him very firmly that I'd lived in Pudong for years, knew all the places and their rates and the correct price was 700. To which he immediately agreed. As I left I told him that I and many of my friends would be regular customers as long as he had beautiful girls giving reliable service, and he kept prices reasonable. He did get more attentive when he realised I was a local, not a guest at the hotel. He assured me on both counts, so I plan to go back and check quite soon. The two girls I saw walking around were both attractive, although not stunning. Overall, this could be a useful addition to the list of local facilities!

Hey guys,

Newbie here with my first post! I just recently moved to Shanghai and have a place on Hongmei Lu and Wuzhong Lu, and I was wondering if there are any good places to visit around here.

Before I get crucified, I did do a search in this thread on "Xuhui" and only came up with 3 posts so any suggestions or advice on where to go would be extremely appreciated and definitely help. I don't really speak the language or know my way around just yet so I hoping to find something pretty close rather than to venture out to Pudong where I've noticed is probably a better bet.

Anyway, hopefully I'll have some posts of substance to share soon but until then, any help would be appreciated.

Lately many members have reported about venues in Pudong, but centre of mongering life in this city is still Puxi IMHO.
In any case, going to Shanghai Hotel sauna or TongRen Lu (depending what you look for) is a much shorter taxi ride than going to other side of the river. Surely not far from your place.

It seems to me you are based in Hongqiao, so I would try a search using that word.

Good luckWe all have points of view. But, I think you just MIGHT soften yours a tad if you actually visited the two easy ones to reach from #2 subway line in Pudong. The sauna in B2 in World Plaza cannot hold a candle to SH Sauna as for luxury, and I admit but one SH experience and it was only good, but what B2 lacks in luxury, it MORE than makes up for in girls atitude! Same can be said for the one behind Wagas also very clsoe to the #2 Subway stop (actually Dongfeng Lu exit. And take the World Plaza street exit). I have had nothing but top quality service and really fine dining. If you know what I mean!

I went back to B2 today at 2 and asked for and got #17 (#5 and #19 (with 19 having a nice C chest). Are also HIGH class! ) and spent one of the most intense hours in my life! I have just been to the Zhongtian Sauna Club which is underneath the Maxdo centre in Honquiao. The exact location couldn't be easier to find. It is bang next door to Waggas, opposite the park. It is no more than three minutes from the Sheraton, four minutes from the Yangtze Renaissance and a two minute stroll from The City Centre Shopping Mall / Parkson. The entrance is thhrough a single glazed door down two flights of stairs. Just follow the signs.

Upon entry you will be greeted by a young man who will courteously guide you to the front desk. The lady and gentleman at the desk will ask if you want the oil massage or full service. I opted to go for the full service of course. But like a complete nimby I forgot to ask how much it was! Oh well.

I was taken by one of the young men to the locker area. They help you undress & hang your clothes up for you but this service is unobtrusive and very friendly. After hanging up your clothes you are taken to a private room with TV & served a drink. I believe that you have the option for taking a bath in the oversized pool that I noticed on the way in. The locker rooms and the private waiting room are comfortable, clean and smell great. So no problems there!

I went back to the Hai Li spa this evening to check out the services. THome Inn, JJ Inn etc. Seem to be doing afternoon rooms for around RMB100, check out before 6pm kind of thing. Never tried it myself, since like most people, I already have a full-time room when I'm in Shanghai.

The JJ Inn at 259 WuZhong Road/junction 953 Guilin Road is spanking new and ideal locationwise for the Wuzhong patch. Good for HongQiao airport too. RMB259 329 per night back in August 2007 launch price.

The Hoxton Hotel in London, near Old Street Tube station, has just started doing afternoon rooms. They say the rooms have Wi-Fi, and is ideal for business meetings. It's probably full of "business women" all afternoon by now.

I've come to love Green Tree Hotel when I come to shanghai. They have many locations in shanghai. Overnight rooms are in the 300rmb range. Long ago I suggested to Jackson, and lobbied for, a "sticky post" mechanism where we could stick one Frequently Asked Questions list posting at the top of the thread, and it would STAY there.

Jackson's response (apparently, he never gave a direct response) was the totally disfunctional Reports of Distinction thread. (I had the brief joy of spoofing the absurdity of that concept a few weeks ago, with my bogus "EDITOR'S NOTE" tags. Jackson promptly (and thankfully, temporarily) punished me by requiring that all my posts be reviewed.)

When you plan a trip to a destination start to RTTF, so by reading the reports posted day by day for some time you get familiar with the mongering scene, and in case of need you can always ask appropriate questions.
Obviously you cannot pretend to learn everything by RTFF at airport waiting to board a flight to your business (or mongering) destination.

IMHO search system works well.
On several occasions I proved that to some lazy members asking outrageous questions.
Then I agree with you that not everybody knows pin yin, so maybe search is not easy in this thread. However, some good will always helps dramatically.

After many hours at the computer it is hard to RTFF and not miss something important...

Even though I am going on to Thailand, I decided to give this place a try. I love a good soapy.

I asked the hotel to give you directions to the Maxdo Shopping Mall. It is near the old airport, but a nice part of town. The concierge did not seem to know the place, but I told him the address. 86 Xianxia Lu, Near Zunyi Lu. Then he knew. The taxi took me right there. 18RMB from the Hilton about 10 minutes or so.

It is not in the mall, but right next door on the main street. Next door to Waggas witch is a restaurant, big sign outside. They sauna has some signs in the street as you approach. It is no more than three minutes from the Sheraton, four minutes from the Yangtze Renaissance and a two minutes from The City Centre Shopping Mall / Parkson.

You enter, and go down two flights of steps. Then walk in a corridor, not nice, but do not be alarmed. Enter the sauna, first class place. I asked what they offer, and they said oil massage, or full service, "you can do what you want with the girl. They guy said. How much? . 780. I told him I heard it was 700, but he would not go down. Like other sauna's take your clothes off, and into a locker, pj's and move on. Waited 2 minutes in a small room, offered me a drink and asked for a beer (no extra charge for the beer at the end). Then through a door with a security code, down stairs another desk, but ushered me past to look into the fishbowl. About 20 girls to choose from, and about six 8-9's on my scale.

I think you are supporting the call for a sticky post - a FAQ. But I would say that with the current forum, it really is of huge benefit for a future traveler to read as much of this forum as possible.

Think of this forum as an interesting book. It really is a pretty good read.

I will admit that before my first trip to China I actually read the entire forum - it was a little smaller then, but still a LOT of posts. By the time I arrived in Shanghai and met the monger then known as Darkman (read the old posts to figure out who that is now...) I felt I knew him already. The city wasn't that unfamiliar either. I arrived with a level of comfort I had never felt in a new city before.

It was a commitment, but I knew I'd be coming (and cumming) here a lot, so I felt the investment was worth it - and it was highly entertaining reading, that paid off many times over my visits.

I have never had a problem with search. Yes, chinese names are a problem, but if you look back on the newbie "RTFF" questions, rarely do you find a question that would require an obscure, pinyin-based search. Most are questions about hotels or the areas surrounding hotels, all of which are easy to find here.

Until recently, there hasn't been much on the board regarding Pudong. When I wrote my Monger's Guide to Shanghai, I knew next to nothing about the east side of the river. But that is rapidly changing, and there is now a lot of information available for the "new half" of Shanghai.

So lobby for a FAQ, but in the mean time, read, read, read, and search. It immeasurably improves your Shanghai experience.

For me at least, it is very easy to confuse two different locations being Chinese names so similar.

When I first came I couldn´t tell the difference between a Zhong I was reading or that Tong that I had read in the previous page.

Nightwing reporting in here on yet another find in Pudong. I'm beginning to realize that any place that says Sauna or Club (Hui Suo) in Chinese must offer special services. I happened to come out of a meeting in the Jin Qiao Pudong area, and walked by Jin Tai Road to see if there was any action in the middle of the day. Not finding anything I liked, I walked to the end of Jin Tai Road. Directly in front of me, on Jin Qiao Road, I see the Jin Qiao Da Fan Dian or Jin Qiao Hotel. On the left side of this building, right above the Bank of China, I see a "Jin Qiao Sauna" sign, pointing me up to the 4th floor. I go around the back of the Bank of China building, find an elevator going upstairs to the fourth floor, and there's a sauna operating inside this building. Though the bathing area looks a little run down, the people inside knew exactly what I was "coming" for.

After the bath, I was led into the back rooms, and a mamasan (Ms. Xiong) appeared. She begins to tell me that they have lots of girls, well-trained, and that they have two offerrings... one at 500 RMB which is a massage and BJ/FS service, and 600 RMB, which also includes a lot of things including coca-cola and I think red wine! I only tried the 500 RMB option. I got a very attractive 24 year old from Dong Bei, and she was very submissive in all positions. First day went straight for massage floor after arriving. All sesions are for 60 min. Standard chinese massage is 88RMB on the 4th floor and 158RMB in the room. Nothing special was offered at this point except for the 2** RMB oil massage. I figured girl in your room ball in your court. I was right. Massage started out crap but I was really having some back trouble so I think I'm paying for an hour let her do an hours work before I look at her and ask for more. Apparently she could actually massage because after about 5 minutes the massage turned out to be a good one. Bad start was probably a hint. In the last 15 minutes or so she started to "accidantally" touch certain areas to arrouse me. Anyway that worked and she stoped. So I'm thinkin here comes the upgrade. Again I was right but also wrong. This girl is apperantly a teaser. Young, good looking and makin you horny. She offers fs massage in your room with pretty girl 600. This place is in white town Shanghai (only a five minute walk to Attica where the Canadian and I went next) and only gets outsider customers which just has to run pricing up. But because all girls were early 20's and good looking and the street being under constuction I might go back and find out what they want for their time. Having only three customers on prime time saturday must lower pricinf for take out I would think and the girls are really pretty.

Just had fun at Attica, but arrived too late. 1am and only a bunch of guys left. Some ugly/old wg some young and pretty but way too expensive for my taste. Spent about the same on beer here as in the club but you get local not import. Attica is expensive but at least they just rip you off straight. No pushing for anything. So if you can go out and not drink anything and still have fun just pay the cover charge and your good to go.

Thanks to Ringer5 for the information on this one. I'm impressed that you found this place, because it never would have occurred to me to look out this far! I just went to try out the Hai Li Sauna or 海力会所 located on the corner of New Jin Qiao Road and Jin Xiang Road, and it gets my thumbs up. It is a relatively new sauna next to a new hotel, and has been open for less than a month. When you get there, you make sure you ask for the "quan tao" or 全套 package. The attendant takes you up a small winding staircase up to the 3rd floor. There are two types of rooms up there. One type has a air mattress on the floor. The other type has a standing jacuzzi type lay-down tub in the middle of the bathing room. Each bath also has an adjoining room with a double-size bed. I happen to know for a fact of at least one completely fictional post in the RoD, so absurd that it is unbelievable, yet Jackson's moderators duly nominated it for a RoD.

Jackon's policy insures that the RoD thread has information from the least trusted sources on the forum, first time or low time posters who have not established their bone fides for posting "authoritative" content.

IMO the RoD is not the right solution for the newbie.

GMHave to agree. I see the ROD as a marketing device aimed at making the newbie very rapidly feel part of the community and thereby willing to pay the annual membership fee.

Hey all, I'm surprised that these forums exist, I've been in shanghai 2.5 months here visiting a friend/relaxation/vacation and I've been going around the city doing some of the things you guys have posted so its weird to think that I have people to relate too!

Anyways I've been to the maxto mall sauna, very nice, place is funny for me cause I'm korean-american and this place is tended more for japanese people so after I tell them "wa sure hangou-megou ren" (I'm a korean-american person) they still speak japanese to me haha (hi!!!/yes!!!). Oh well, when I left they gave me 3 slips of 80 Rmb off coupon so I guess that brings the price down to 800 after the 19:00/7 pm 880 rmb price. I’ll post the coupons pics later.

Been to a BBS a couple times, those seem to be the best experiences because you never know what to expect. Also its great to know the market price reading the reports because ever since I got here, my friend has been explaining that chinese will try to make as much profit off you, so knowing the market value of things in shops and stores will get you pass beating around the bush.

Finally, I'm in shanghai till wednesday (nov 14th). I know I'm going to come back to shanghai sometime in the future, instead of finding fellow mongers on the forum before I come back, I'd definitely like to meet some people and go some more adventures/experiences before I leave. But the rooms for the action have been renovated and no longer have the wet area in half the room as before. So no in-room soapy which I miss very much. ARe there any recommendations closer to either Century Park or the Science and Technology Museum. But you are an easy 10 minute cab ride (under 15 RMB) to places like the Ming Dian sauna, the Merrylin Hotel, or even the Badong sauna inside the Marriott. You could even hop into the Metro Line 2 and take the subway to the Dong Chang Road exit to try the Hong Meng sauna inside the World Plaza (level B2); it's only two stops away from the Science and Technology Museum.

Also, I would welcome you to try out any of the places that say "massage" or "sauna" on the street. I'm convinced that almost all of the places offer some sort of services to the interested consumer; we just don't have enough time or money to visit them all! Most of Green Tree Motels provide half day rate between 1.00 to 6.00 pm for the price of RMB 99. I have not come across any hotels that provide short time rate after 6.00 pm. There is a Green Tree Motel next to Yanan Hotel along Yanan Road, it is less than 1 km from Tongren lu.

But you are an easy 10 minute cab ride (under 15 RMB) to places like the Ming Dian sauna, the Merrylin Hotel, or even the Badong sauna inside the Marriott. You could even hop into the Metro Line 2 and take the subway to the Dong Chang Road exit to try the Hong Meng sauna inside the World Plaza (level B2); it's only two stops away from the Science and Technology Museum.

Also, I would welcome you to try out any of the places that say "massage" or "sauna" on the street. I'm convinced that almost all of the places offer some sort of services to the interested consumer; we just don't have enough time or money to visit them all! Been too many Pudong reports recently, so I decided to post a 'refreshment' report on the famous Shanghai Hotel. Newbies would have a more recent post to RTFF anyway.

Shanghai Hotel
505 Wulumuqi Road.

A easier way of telling the cab driver would be simply "Jing An Qian Gui" at Wulumuqi Road. That's the Cashbox karaoke, Jing An branch.

If you're across the road facing Cashbox, Shanghai Hotel would be to it's right.

The sauna is on the 2nd floor. All you need to do is walk into the hotel lobby, go inside the lift and you will see "Sauna" listed on the 2nd floor button.

Upon entry, you will be ushered by the manager into the locker room, and then directed to your designated locker to put your clothes and belongings. At this point, you're expected to strip completely naked except for your wristband with your locker number. You can choose to leave your precious belongings in the locker, or in the small plastic container given. I usually put my wallet, watch, mobile phone and cigarettes in the container and bring it along with me.

Next step, you'll be directed to the shower area, where you should have a quick shower, clean your privates. Another fella from the side not dressed in the attendants uniform will approach, asking you if you'd like a backscrub. It's actually an exfoliating scrub that removes all your dead skin. Heard it's very effective, and leaves your skin clean as a baby. But I gave it a pass that night. Once you're done with showering, you will be led to the drying area, where you will be given a towel and and clean set of ugly looking clothes to get into. Next is where the fun starts.

You will be led along a stretch of passages which look like the inside of the Hilton, and finally arriving at a reasonably small brightly lit room. Step into the room, and you will be greeted by 20+ ladies, smiling at you in all their glory. Take your pick, and she will lead you to your room.

I was very, very impressed with the quality of the girls. The sauna's reputation truly lives up to it's name. I picked number 05, as she was the one whom I felt attracted to first, and also probably coz she has the best body in the lot.

No. 05 is from Wu Xi, and looks like a supermodel. She even showed me some photos she took back home in a makeover studio, and they're even more stunning as she is in person. She's about 1.68, long wavy locks, beauty mole, very perfect pair of 36Ds that aren't sagging much... yet.

I won't go into too many details of the session, since it is mostly the same everywhere else. But there was alot of interaction between me and her, coz I was in a bashful mood and she had that type of character. So we had alot of word play and such during the session. Thank Sasparx for giving out information about this place and Mark17 for a long and informative report. I went to Zhong Tian (Japanese name: Nakada) Sauna at Maxdo center on Xian Xia Road last monday night. Called them trying to make a reservation with 50# who looks really nice from their website but was told she's already "on duty" at that moment.

So I went there anyway decided to try out my luck with the lineup. Walked a long flight to B1 of Maxdo center. Was welcomed by a guy at the front desk. Asked about the price and he said 880 RMB. Fortunately, I had noticed a coupon sorta thing on their website which is in Japanese, I'm a Chinese so I can guess most of the content on that coupon, it states a discount from 880 to 780 before 7pm and 880 to 800 after 7pm. It turned out to be a right decision to print that coupon out as the guy said the printed coupon is legitimate and I can get the discount as it stated.

So I went in, the usual routine, changed into PJs and found myself infront of a lineup of 10 something in no time. The lineup is okay with a few 8s, but I didn't found anyone from the list on their website. The mama told me all those "Hong Pai" are picked by a group of japanese walked in right before me. With a sigh, I picked 51# who has a nice pair of C boobs and a nice smile.

The service was very good. Body scrub was more gentle and thorough than those ones I had in JiYuan. It take the girl 45 minutes to finish off all the routine on the air bed. Then we moved to the dry area for another good set of cat bathing, rimming, BBBJ and happy ending. All in all, it was a great experience and not in rush at all.

After the deed , I was led to a small room for rest. I took the chance have a detail look at this place. The place is new and well decrated in a classy way.

10 minutes later , I went to the locker room and changed back to my clothes.

One more thing I'd like to mention about this place is it seems to be Japanese oriented since their website is all in Japanese and the staff greet you in Japanese. Well ,this won't be something prevent me from going back.

Finally, I work in Jiading (around 50 k north west of Shangai). I have a lot of experiences with BBS (some very down and dirty). If anyone has knowledge of a good sauna, (similar to maxdo) in Jiading, I would be keen to know.

For a Sauna In Jiading try the Ying Yuan Hotel at 150 Qinghe Road, Jiading Tel: 021-59520952

It's relatively near the center of Jiading. They have a KTV & Sauna called Paradise in a seperate building around behind the hotel - that is to say - if you enter the hotel from the main entrance - you need to go through the lobby out, the door to the back parking lot and enter the adjacent building on the left. Up the elevator to the 3rd or 4th floor (I don't remember which).

I havn't been for quite some time (over a year ago), but it was pretty good when I went last. Cost was RMB700 I think for "Quan Tao" (whole package). The facilities were new at the time I went and were pretty upscale and nice.

The Filipinas in bars on Tong Ren Luo are old, ugly and well-worn. I wouldn't even fuck them with someone else's dick.

The Shanghai hotel's sauna is pretty old, the girls are homely. They had 3 girls in the saunas, and there were 5 guys in the locker rooms who just took their clothes off with their dicks hanging... I said , fuck it, and skipped.

Take a left out the St. Regis onto Dong Fang Lu and then a right a less than a black on the right onto Pudian Lu and there are 3 or 4 BBS or go couple of blocks left down Dong Fang Lu to Eshan Lu take a right and there are a half dozen BBS on Eshan Lu or you could go right on Dong Fang Lu to the sauna at the Marriott Courtyard which is less than one block from the St. Regis.

MABI second that. During bored evenings, I would just take a walk randomly from wherever I am, and look for BBSes. It doesn't even take much effort. Just keep walking, make some turns, look in the distant for barber poles. Most BBSes have the trademark barber poles outside, but not all. Some are disguised as foot massage shops instead. That's what makes the 'hunt' fun, walking towards the shop to see if it's a BBS or not, and if it is, what the quality inside is.

BBSes are often located on small streets, and almost never on main roads. But at night, this can be a little tricky, coz some roads appear to be dark and quiet, however it may not be such in the day. Remember BBSes operate in the day as well, so they are mostly located on streets that even during the day would be rather quiet, away from heavy traffic.

Have fun walking! Now's a good period too, since it isn't too cold and you won't perspire after walking for kilometers.

Arrived in Shanghai very late last night. Even too tired to check the Shanghai board. Browsed and found out about Sauna on World Plaza B2 the other moring. Convenient since I stay in Pudong side anyway

Taking the Metro works fine. Easy to find World Plaza and no need to get out in the cold at all.
However without knowing about the Sauna on B2 it would be difficult to find. Escalator from B1 to B2 blocked (guess not working); So take the elevator. Very low profile from the outside. On the inside - I can pretty much agree on anything said on environment before - not top notch.

Chose a bad time to go - peak business and got the last available room in a far away corner. Only 2 girls to choose from - all the others already busy. Did not pick the better looking one - though both just pretty
average - but the one that gave a little smile when looking at them.

Good choice. No PSE but a solid GFE. My chinese still sucks but at least some basic conversation is possible. Had to listen to the old "Laowai are all so big" story - but managed to make her comfortable. A little DATY will help most of the time. Don´t ask me for the name - already forgot it - only remember she was 20 and from Hubei Province.

Went back to 209 Wulumuqi Lu for the first time in a good couple of months. Basic content was just the same as before but an exceptional service this time - it has been my favourite for a while but this beats all previous experiences. See theres a report about being able to find BBS. I haven't been living in Shanghai for a 2 years or more. But when I was there the BEST thing I did was purchase a bike. Simple push bike like the millions of other Chinese have.

In one year I hit over 150 BBS. How do I know. Well Id go out cycling every night and would ALWAYS go to a new place. I figure if you take off vacations and business trips. Easily was 150.

All the old reports are filed under the name of roversman. And his epic cycling adventures hahah. After a year started visiting some regular places.I've been here for almost 3 months, I'm lucky I live near hongqiao/changning off wu zhong lu. I started taking long walks/jogs during 1am-6am and around this area I've probably passed 20-30 bbs's (around this time theres no one walking around and also the bus and metro aren't running plus the taxi faires are 14 rmb instead of 11). If I was planning to stay I would of bought a bike or an electric powered peddle bike to get around faster. I think if you guys have the time to explore areas, you'll find a lot of BBS's around the corner or just up the street. The worst part of Ladyboys is their attitude outside Tr Lu. If with my girlfriend, they still try to "seduce me" , they get very aggresive, and if you turn the other way they may insult you, or say something inconvenient.

New to the board, thought I'd add in some experience etc.

Been in Shanghai for 3 years and am fluent in Chinese, but was in a committed (as in, I should have been committed) relationship before, so really only just started to explore the good spots.

So, where did I look? Why, you only need to think about who the biggest horndogs in Asia are; just check out any local jap newspaper and there are tons of listings...

Best place I have found thus far is on corner neer Jiaozhou lu and kangding lu (a bit further away from Jing An)

Hard to tell what it is from outside. Every time I've been I've had a choice of at least 1 or 2 girls that were really pretty; last 2 were excellent; pretty face, nice body, great service and really sweet. One of them even met me outside (but they only get a few days a month off for their period, bummer)

Standard service gets you the shower / massage bit, followed by whatever takes your fancy on the bed. Rooms are a bit pokey, but there are nice mirrors all over, and most of the girls even seem to carry stuff to dress up in.

It seems quite popular as it's really slow during peak times + time gets cut short as well; best to go in late afternoon. Fare is 760 RMB, which seems pretty reasonable for what you get, compared to most other places.

Here's the dumbass question. I went to pretty much 6 different ones? out of the six I had 2 places which offers a fj. And the balance 4 places only hj (no matter how much I begged! pretty lame I know... but that 1 girl was friggin cute, hot, and young). anyway, in the end only hj was offered.

though i confess to living on the charming but outlying side from most of the action, i have been the beneficary of having a lot of time to stroll the various streets of sh for awhile now. as a fan of amps in the colonies and a previously only-casual (and occupied) visitor to china, my stunned pleasure in discovering the state of things is only now begining to cool through infatuation to mere gratitude, and get my mind back on business. most of time anyway. what follows is some hopefully amusing.

Well now back at home from a 26 day visit to a few cities in China one of which is Shanghai. Now just to make the following story a bit clearer first some personal info.

Before you get pushed in front of the RTFF squad, let me pass on a few good pointers as I am almost in the same situation (planning a trip to Shanghai).

First you'll actually have to RTFF to get to know this place. Infact if you read the first 12-13 pages you'll realize that over tipping or paying above the market actually does the opposite of getting you extras. Chinese see you more like a loser if you pay more. Normally people here recommend tipping only as a good gesture only AFTER the deed. As for the hotel massage...clue is the SPECIAL MASSAGE on the tariff. Infact what people say about here is that, you can without embaressment ask what you really want. If they offer; good, if not they will say no without taking any offence. Normally you can spot the FS massage by the price difference between the regular massages and the special/oil massage. For example others are 200 or 150 RMB and then there is one for 500 or 600 RMB...the higher is it. In case of a 5 star hotel, the base massages would be higher but then so would the gap between the base and the FS...if they do offer one.

If you want outcall to the hotel I would pick up a copy of the Shanghai Daily and go to the back where there is a list of places that do outcall massage. Some of them are rip offs, though I don't remember which ones. I usually used one called "Luci" or "Suzi" something like that. If you look at the ads you should find it easily. They would always tell me that it was 1000 rmb for an hour but I would say I used them before and it was less then they would come down to 600 or 700. Went to the Shanghai Hotel - not planned and the first trip in months just after 6.30 last night. Procedure as previously described. Didn't hang around for the add ons and went straight to the line up (OK, had a shower obviously).

Tried the World Plaza Sauna (B2) and I like it a lot. I've been the SH HOTEL before and that is still one of my favorites, but this sauna is also up there. Rest assured, you are not the only one that got ripped off in China, it happend to me on my fist visits in Beijing already 15 years ago, nothing has changed there. But applaud your courage to admit it and warn other newbies. The only smart thing I did when I was caught in the situation with a bill of 3000 RMB (15 years ago! ) and 3 young mafia guys around me is that I insisted on paying with credit card showing that I had no cash money. Immediately after I left the spot I called the credit card company and reported my card as stolen (think about the time difference to Europe) so no damage to my wallet.

From a seasoned traveller who has mongered most places in Asia to all newbies and this does not only apply to China: whenever and whereever you go, get yourself a picture of what is going on, get your information from forums and friends, beware of suckers that want to sell you something on the road, whether these are girls or taxis at the airport.

BTW, it is actually very easy to find girls in any place in Asia: Ask the locals, ask the bellboy in your hotel, talk to friends and business associates; CHECK THIS FORUM, it has a wealth of information.

In some cities in China like Beijing, the concentration of girls is more in pubs, in others like Shanghai it is more in Saunas and Spas, although I had quite a few times good experiences with SW for fair prices.

Keep on trying buddy, you only get smarter and I am 100 % sure you will love Shanghai because it is a great and fascinating city.

Central Hotel is not far from Shanghai Hotel, however, I would take a taxi (no queues for taxis unless is raining like hell).
You could walk but then after about 30 minutes, you wn't have energies for the girl.

Okay guys, my first report.

Decided to finally try it out to see if it's any better than other places.

Went around 4 pm or so. Nice jacuzzi / shower area, but even at this time of day it seems crowded. On the upside, if you don't speak Chinese, there are lots ond lots of foreigners who pass through here (saw at least two)

It's funny though because the first time I went to the SH Hotel I ended up there after checking some consultations with the door guys. They were kind of surprised/amazed that a foreigner was communicating with them and chatting openly in front of the door. Weird for such a location were they must get lots of foreigners everyday, but most likely they just don't speak the language and look "resident" (not that I'm Asian, I was just wearing my Sunday uniform: trainers, messed up hair and sunglasses, no shave... and they sure knew my face as I walked in front of the place everyday).

The point is that it was barely 1pm, so apprently few girls had made it yet to work and actually they were not even working yet and I was in an urge, so I took a cabby and hit the SH Hotel.

I must say after one first disappointing experience, I still gave it two more tries in the subsequent weeks, for the forum's sake (I know usually it's more about bad luck than anything). But basically it was always the same. Call me picky, but the common bath area sucks, then the girls are basically lots of make up, hips of plastic and the whole "Venues that Suck 2007" catalogue of "this, don't; this other, can't; that, just won't"'s that one has to go through in such famous places.

I also disagree about the looks of the girls there. I don't think they are specially hot at the SH Hotel if you compare to any similar priced places and even if you are into make up, fake tits and bad attitude, starting for the messy, steamy enviroment in the public areas, plus the mechanical "accueil" service, plus the too pro for my taste in-room service. Evenmore, but that's personal taste, I definitely prefer the looks of many BBS girls, more natural and not necessarily old and wasted (go to the Village, if it's still there, it's been months).

For saunas, try for instance Jin Yuan Sauna at Jiaozhou Lu with Changping Lu. You'll get the make up and some of the fakes, but none of the shitty working environment. Their oily playing mats are much better, although the rooms are less fancy. And they definitely see less foreigners. Some up to date report on that place will be welcome to (I'd do it myself, but during the last months I have been under strict GF surveillance).

Don't worry that much about the cabby fares. Even if you take a taxi from a downtown location to really far places like the Village (at night) it won't go beyond 40 RMB. It's peanuts. During the day time, you better plan, not just to avoid wasting money, especially to avoid spoiling your mood trapped in a Shanghai Taxi somewhere along Yan An Lu seeing your erection go to waste, etc. etc.

I have a BBS area spotted awaiting for some serious scouting. I've been RTFFing and didn't or couldn't find any reference to it, so it may be a new source of fun.

I've done all the preliminaries: check the location, count girls, check girls, check prices, but I haven't culminated the report. Too risky for me for several reasons.

The target is a series of four BBS along Kaixuan Lu 凯旋路 between the Hongqiao Lu metro station ( lines 3 and 4 ) and the crossing with Anshun Lu 安顺路

In total, some 20 girls at night, starting as soon as it gets dark ( indeed, these days you can see them already at 5 pm )

Prices are just like anywhere within the so called downtown area for BBS. They range from an ultrageous 120 RMB to a ridiculous 250. All prices are for in-venue service. Since I never had the intention to actually stay, those prices are the first offer, before negotiating.

Actually there are more BBS in the area ( the more local the area is, the more... local it is ), but I've only checked those. KTV with neons in Korean and several other "japanese" bars and restaurants are available too. The area is quite lively everynight, mostly locals and Taiwanese, occasional Koreans and not a few Japanese, despite of its rather darkish look after sunset, which must be a sign of quality.

There is also a quite interesting "inner Mongolian" restaurant, a couple of Sichuan-Shanghai places, and a yakitori restaurant, all worth going. All within the "relatively cheap but tasty" range, of course. No doormen and champaign. Farther up heading to Yan An Lu there is an expensive Japanese restaurant for the deeper pockets.

I also just remembered that already near the Yan An Lu station ( lines 3 and 4 ) there is also a very expensive Thai Spa that should be checked asap by someone. I'm pretty sure we hit jackpot there for those who are into the sauna thing, plus the spa looks gorgeous. I'll try to get more details ( address, prices, etc. at least of the legit spa area ) this evening.

I'm planning a trip to Shanghai and I have been studying this section for over a month now; I swear it's confusing me like hell! From what I understand so far, there are several options for a guy like me (picky, not necessarily a hardcore mongerer, loves the model type and would go for the easy massage places..) :

1- Shanghai Hotel (downside: will have to walk around with my naked fellows dealing with the guys who will try to give us scrub etc. before getting into the real thing - upside: high standards)

2- The place next to the Nextage Mall

3- World Plaza B2

4- Buo Duo (upside: directly going into the changing rooms. 2 massage sections in the rooms - dry&wet)

So please someone, have I got the basics right? Which one shall I choose for an easy visit?

And I have one more question: Do you have any hotel/neighborhood recommendation for me? I usually like the trendy areas - near a good shopping mall or an upscale shoopping street - not necessarily in the center of the crowds. Pudong (Shangri-La) or Bund (Westin)? Do you think Xintiandi (I have no idea where this neighborhood is..) might be a good idea?

I'll appreciate if you give me your personal thoughts for my first visit.

Unfortunately, I can't go beyond the door into the pink warm inside of the BBS, especially not around that area I reported. So that's all I could offer this time.

So I was asking for volunteers to verify my info and complete the reports: actual prices ( after negotiation ), service, facilities, etc. And a second, educated, opinion is always necessary. I would only add that it's just a local-flavoured area, not something for those who don't eat Chinese or can't read the menu, but maybe good for the one seeking a Shanghainese experience in a relatively central location.

What I mean is that those who can't speak the language have at least one more option (yes, I know what you are thinking. Don't blame me, I was tired and went all the way up there just to check!)

Seeing their prices, and the classy lobby area, they must offer especial services. I guess the Spa is not off-limits for me, so maybe ( just maybe ) I check this weekend, but I will have to behave and keep all the fishy questions for myself. So it'd be nice to get one volunteer to report about this place too. The kind of guy who enjoys real massage or serious spa treatment and all that stuff anyway, even if there's no happy ending. I have seen a few courses on their menu going above 1000 RMB up to 1400 something. Most are in the 300-600 range, some are cheaper. They have 4-hand massages too.

A quick report with NO personal experience. I was out walking this afternoon and ran upon a swarm of BBS/MP places. Summary:

Pudong Lu between Zhangyang Lu and Weifang Lu on the west side: 4. Three will knock the window at round eyes and one does not.

Weifang Xi Lu between Pudong and Dongfeng Lu: about 5 on the right side and two 'spas' on the left. Also one spa on the right right across from Courtyard.

Then, the hot spot! Going south on Dongfeng Lu (The main street where Courtyard is situated) past a nice river walk park, turn right on Eshan. There are about 4 on the left side and at least 4 on the right side, all agressive and some pretty nice to look at faces. Again. No experience. That is just the area between Dongfeng and Nanquan Lu! If you cross Nanquan, there are at least six more on the left and two on the right side. Again, all agressive and most nice to look at. There are some more on Nanquan heading north near the stream as well.

As reported earlier, there are about 4 MP/Spas on Laoshan between Weifenf Lu and Pudian and several BBS on Nanquan between Zhangyang Lu and Pudian.

I prefer saunas so I steer clear but would appreciate input on any of these.

Based on what I know from a member who had checked them out not too long ago (Yah. He’s a lurker who doesn’t post). That place has a good massage and that’s about it. He tried to ask for something beyond that, they told him they do not offer those. Maybe you may get a different service that he is not able too? That member is an ABC who spoke perfect Shanghainese language. (maybe that’s why? ). They afraid he is a cop?

Firstly thanks to all those guys who offered their tips on the action in Shanghai. Here is a concise report of my experience in Shanghai this week.

I arrived on Sunday evening and immediately went out for dinner with a whole lot of colleagues and we proceeded to get pretty drunk so by the time I got back to the hotel my beer goggles were firmly in place. Did not plan on getting any action in the night but my colleague and I just decided to take a walk in this area at the back of our hotel which was a replica of times square in NYC but much better. While we were walking a bunch of pimps approached us offering women along with a bunch of counterfeit goods. Just as we were going back to the hotel this really attractive girl approached us and asked if we needed girls. We started talking to her and initially I tried to convince her to come along but she said that she is only the ‘boss’. She initially asked for CNY 900 for a girl but after bargaining we brought her down to CNY 500 + 100 tip if the service was good. We got into a cab with her and she took us on a 5 min ride where on this one street corner she had some girls standing. My friend and I chose one each and took them back to the hotel with us. I was expecting some problems at the Meridien but fortunately there was none although the walk of shame is a pretty long one. As it turned out the service was extremely crappy and she even refused to give a BJ. She was pretty decent looking and also had a good rack but overall service was pretty crappy so I told her to bugger off immediately after I was finished because by this time I was pretty tired also. Hence, my first experience was pretty disappointing.

On the second night me and around 5 of my colleagues went to this place called Tang’s Hot tubs which I think is one of the best kept secrets of Shanghai but you need to have local knowledge to get to this place. It is a really classy joint and I guess very similar to all the sauna places that have been reported on the forum. The whole place is very organized with people directing you through all the right places and after the shower and other knick knacks we were eventually led to a window where there were more than a dozen girls standing to be chosen. We all made our picks and went to our rooms. I was really not sure on what kind of service to be expecting but what followed was an excellent experience. The girl was really beautiful with an excellent rack for a Chinese girl and the only negative part was that she could not speak any English but our bodies managed to do all the necessary talking that was required. The full menu was offered with BBBJ and FS followed by an excellent massage and then another round of FS. And all in about one hour. This was by far one of the best experiences I had ever had and in a very secure and comfortable environment and the total cost was just CNY 700. Every single one of my friends that were with us all had nothing but a great experience to share with everyone. I went back to this place once more before leaving and had another great experience with another different girl who was also absolutely gorgeous and this time I was only charged CNY 600. Another crazy things these girls do is that there is this sort of steel rack on top of the bed and they hang themselves upside down and give you a BJ which is the most unique and different experience that one will have anywhere in the world. The second time I had some more time to spare so I spent some time relaxing in the hot tubs also which was good fun.

Overall my experience of Shanghai was that there is tons of sex being offered but it is the quality which is difficult to find. The problem with this kind of free lance service is that usually one never knows what sort of service is being offered and there have also been some experiences of people getting caught up in all sorts of scams by these women. I think the sauna/hot tub places are the best option in Shanghai and with some local knowledge one can find some of more the less known places which are cheaper and better.

Check out the New Town Club for a quickie. It's near the Sheraton & Renaissance Hotels. Stand with your back to the Sheraton, go left to the next junction. Turn left again & it's 70m down the road on the right hand side.

There is massage, sauna, nail bar, restaurant, hairdressers etc within the complex. It isn't very big. In fact it is quite compact & bijou!
