Well guys, although I only agree on the part that brother have to be warn of such thief but I still don't agree with posting photo of the girl.

I take a different approach on this; although she is a thief, she stole your phone, how much it cost? 5000RMB? that does not entitle you to destroy her life does it? Putting up her nude photo on the web not only tells the whole world she is a thief, it also tells the whole world that she is a prostitude, also tells the whole world including her family, her mum her dad, her sisters her brother her relative what she do for a living. IMHO: this is worst than a death sentence.

IMHO: Yes you might angry over the fact she sold your phone, but I don't think it hurt you that much to justify for giving her a death sentence. Besides as you said she is a potential thief, she sold your phone, may be she really is in need for the money? or May be your phone is the top of the line phone which make it too tempting for her to resist? Remember my posting a while back which started the debate about girls noticing the phone you use? But that also doesn't means that she will 100% do that again? A thief today may not be a thief tomorrow.

Always spare a thoughts for others regardless of whether they are thieves, robbers, beggers etc etc. They are still human.

AGI'll agree to disagree with you. A death sentence? That's a bit far stretched in my opinion. To make that leap, you'd have to assume lots of things which simply aren't true in China, such things as access to the internet, the ability to surf english websites such as this, to access this string of posts, to have that information disseminated to her "family" or social network from her hometown, and to look for this specific photo, amongst the millions of photos/websites in the internet.

Irrespective, I respect your opinion, but I'll proceed as I see fit. If the board had a policy against this, then let me know and I'll refrain. Until that time, I'm calling out a thief and warning my bretheren. If you want Jackson to cover up everything but her face, I'm fine with that too.

By the way, do you advocate the same position on all the photo galleries populating each section for each country on this site? I haven't seen your comments on the other boards. Maybe you have and have requested Jackson remove all the photos with faces or photos evidencing a compromising position.

AGAG: Forget my last post. I submitted it without properly reviewing it. While I don't agree with you, I 'm not promoting the free posting of these gals wherever and whenever you want. I was doing this as my bit of response to her dishonest and immoral actions.

What I was pointing out is an action and reaction type of scenario. If people act accordingly, everything will be fine. When provoked, then there is going to be a consequence. Here, while have no intention of giving her a death sentence, I am here to warn others of her actions.

I'm thinking about returning to ChangPing on April 24 and staying 3-4 weeks. I hear that the Canton Fair will be on when I arrive, and I have a couple of questions.

Is the fair going to result in an overflow of mongerers and a shortage of hotel rooms?

If so, when will the fair end?

Any info you can give me will be much appreciated.

The Canton Fair dates are April 15-20 and April 25-30. Hotel rooms will be tight throughout Guangzhou and Dongguan during that time so you should reserve your room as soon as you can. Also, expect prices to rise a bit at some hotels in Dongguan and a LOT at hotels in Guangzhou.

I mongered with One Wing Low and his friend " rock star" in CP a few days ago. Both are nice guys and know how to treat people well including the ladies. I enjoyed mongering with them these past two days.

I introduced them to my favorite mamasan at the Yalan and her girls loved these guys. One Wing Low was quite a charmer and finally picked a very lovely girl who was very passionate with him all the time. She even looked better than most of the ladies we saw at the two KTVs we went to.

We went to the Hui Mei KTV and his friend picked a LT gal there.

We heard a lot about Jia Yi and went there to take a look. We didn't see anything real interesting, the stage was kind of small with maybe about 15 tables near the stage for sitting. We were looking for the famous flower street where they have hundreds of girls line up for you, but later, we found out that happens only between 6:30 pm to 7:00pm.

Will have to give it another visit next time.

The mamasan was quite reasonable, reducing the room min from 680Y down to 390Y. Of course we spent a lot more than that on tips etc...

The plus side is my very worldy friend never met a prettier girl than this young, tall, lanky, classy super model with a very pretty and innocent face. He kept saying to me he fell in love with her.

We went out to lunch, dinner, shopping etc... with these girls. She acted like a loving GF, taking good care of him in very loving ways, and epxressed that she wished to visit him in America...

Thanks to MPFS we found the BBQ reataurant a few doors from the Miraton front door. After 3 consecutive days of pure seafood due to lack of Chinese language skill, it was great to have a good varieaty of pork,duck,beef, noodles, veggies etc... courtesies of MPFS.

It was great meeting MPFS. WIshed you had time to go with us to Houjie and ZH.

You're probably about 20 minutes away from the Sheraton and about 40 minutes away from CP. I'm not familiar with this hotel, but Dongguan City isn't that big. If you want to stay closer, the DG Exhibition International Hotel (Dongguan Huizhan Guoji Jiudian), should be about 5 minutes away, also has a very nice KTV.

It wasn't mentioned, but the Sheraton KTV has different tier girls. Besides the regular girls, they also have so called "model" girls who are more expensive.

Find Laowai123 excellent Google earth map of the CP, highlighting the Catacomb area which is across the street from the Miraton and entrance is near McDonald.

I wonder if we should ask Wikipedia to add CP's catacombs to their list? Hmmmmm

I'm a relative newbie (been playing around elsewhere Asia). Have been to CP with friends from HK a couple of times. And they've always led and I just tagged along. Had good fun. Planning to head to CP maybe around May...one area that get mentioned frequently is the "catacombs". Can anyone tell me what and where exactly is the catacombs? Is it near the Hui Mei area, Yalan, or elsewhere further?

I think it is the survival instinct that they acquired with this business. It is sure very competitive out in Yalan with all the mamasan running around. Still she is cute and treats me well. I have a better hit record with her girl recommendation than with other mamas.

You can buy advanced ticket from hotel or train staion at changping ,you can take the free shuttle from liu hua to pazhou complex , I take the subway from pazhou fair complex to east trainstations have more train to changping and there are also a ticket booth inside the fair but the line is very long take me 45 min wait to get my ticket so get it in advanced , I am sure there are also shuttle to the fair but only the large 5 star hotel will offer that .

The only difference really is that the "model" girls are taller. I think you have to be at least 170cm to qualify as a "model" girl. It's the same deal at the sauna downstairs. If you ask for the "model" girls, the 600RMB or 800RMB ones, the only difference is that they're taller. There's no difference in service or looks.

Two chinese business friends invited me to this hotel. One of them and me stayed also the night at this place.

Chinflux Mandarin is a very nice 4star hotel. I enjoyed the stay, the rate was for one night -business suite- 760 RMB. That is a special company rate.

We had a very good dinner with a gorgeous chinese red wine. Wow.

After that we went to the hotel ktv called VIVIclub. At the beginning the girls lined up, 10-12 each time. I choosed Fong Lin, who spoke a little bit english. She was cute, 1,60m and had short hair. My friend and mamasan choosed a second girl for me, her name was Yun Yun. She was really small, but with a strong feminine touch. My friend who lives in Gaobu choosed mamasan for himself, the other one voted for a caucasian type I hadn't seen before in Dongguan.

After some karaoke stuff, some beers, wine and chinese rice liquor we went to our rooms. My friend payed the room and gave me 800 RMB per girl (--> 1.600 RMB at all). Finally I gave me the hint: "If you are done, sent them away...." Thus I went with two cuties to my hotel room.

We three started a shower together, cleaning each other as best as we can. After that I went to bed with Fong Lin, Yun Yun took a bath. A long hot bath with a lot of foam.....

After some massage I gave Fong Lin we both went also to the bathroom an joined Yun Yun in the tube. It was really fun in a special way, more like kids, playing and kidding. After "loosing" most of the water both girls brought me to the bed and the sessions begun. We had together more than 4 hours action. Yun Yun left after that and and I payed her the 800 RMB. She said that this was a special rate for my friend and that this 800 RMB includes also the tip for her. I asked Fong Lin to stay with me until the morning. She agreed and we slept for some hours. In the morning we had a final session and ordered then a breakfast in the room. After that Fong Lin gave me her digits and left me with a big hug. I enjoyed her very much, it was a full GFE. We agreed to meet again while I'll come next time.

Then I left for HK.

I don't know in which way my friend is related to the hotel. But the introduction opened a special experience for me. When I went to ktv or a club I did it with friends and collegues as a standard guest, not more, not less.

Summary:

Chinflux Mandarin (ZhenXing Road, GaoBuTown, Dongguan City) is very good hotel with all facilities for business meetings. Also the restaurants play at the very reasonable level. The hotel is far away from the hot spots (which I know). The ktv is a high quality club with nice girls and professional mamasan who are also joining the party. And there is a special service for some guests.
I will come back again.

Can someone elaborate on what and where are the so called "Catacomb". Especially where, as to how to get there from the major landmarks around CP. Would like to check it out, as I'll be heading up to CP (I'm hoping) sometime in May.

....go to Sheraton KTV. The mamasan met us at the huge lobby. A Chinese guest translated for us. The minimum charge for the smallest room is 680Y, sitting fee 300Y, ST 800Y, LT 1000Y. I told her prices are way too high, and I want to look at the line up first.

Was taken upstairs. The 2 dozen hostesses at the door were all tall, pretty and elegant. About 30 VERY PRETTY girls were lounging around in a living room. I was very impressed and decided to stay.

Was taken downstairs to a small karaoke room. The mamasan said special deal for 390Y min, but any drink order would offset the 390Y. Ordered 12 beers, got 12 free for 600Y. Not bad.

...Will checkout Cinese KTV tomorrow. Houjie is worth many repeat visits in the future. Big thanks for many bros who steered us to Houjie.I've read several of yr recent postings. I've been to the DG ktvs but mostly in CP such as Huimei, Jiayi, Amazon, HuiHua. Are the girls in Sheraton significantly better than those in the ktvs as I've mentioned? Beauty is very subjective and what might light your fire might not do it for somebody else. I personally think that on average, the girls at Sheraton are prettier than girls than most of the CP KTVs. A lot of it though, has to do with presentation. The Sheraton girls tend to dress more elegantly than the typical CP KTV girl. On average, I would say the girls are a bit taller too.

They are pretty, tall, classy. I did not have good experience with the KTV girls in CP. The 2 Sheraton girls that went with my friend and I are like dolls.

Their rates are 3 8 10 which are lightly higher than CP but they are well worth it.

The other alternatives are cruising Lien Hua Lu late at night, or go with the many mamasans to look for girls in the alleys around lien Hua Lu. There are many girls with model looks. Their rates are ST 200Y, LT 500Y.

In Macau, the shopping mall on the ground floor of the Lisboa casino has 2 dozens girls with super-model looks parading around and around accosting johns. Their rate is ST 800Y. They would take you up to their rooms in the Lisboa for the deed.

I took a girl from Hubei, tall, lanky with the prettiest face, the exact super-model type. She was friendly and fun. Her boobs were round, soft and erect. She has 2 dime-sized scars, at symmetrical spots on her lower abdomen. she told me it was surgeries. Looks like she had both ovaries removed. Very beautiful but expensive.

We spent 2 nights in Chang Ping, taking a few KTV and Yalan hotel girls. Disappointed by the poor quality of these girls in both looks and manners, my friend had sworn never to take another all nighter.

When we went to the Sheraton KTV, my friend was hooked by their girls. He took a tall, rail-thin girl all night. Her name is Ling Ling. She has a pretty, innocent face with the sweetest smile. She was smiling sweetly and innocently at everything and after each sentence she says. This girl has such beauty and class that It was a pleasure just sitting around watching her talk and smile, and watching her tall, slim, slinky frame shashaying around on high heels. She has a younger sister who is butt ugly, also working in the sheraton KTV. I dont see how she ever makes any money there.

My friend was so smitten with love for this girl that we ended up keeping both girls for 2 nights, taking them shopping, lunch, dinner, clubs...She told my girl that this guy loves her so much that she could ask him to pay at least 3000Y a day. She also told my girl to make me pick up the tabs everywhere we went, so her 'BF' doesn't have to spend money.

She was trying to save money for her BF everywhere we went. She took us to the restaurant across the street from the Sheraton, on the second floor. She was smiling sweetly, this is the cheapest restaurant...The service was sloppy but the food was the best we had in Houjie. A big dinner for 4 with all sorts of fancy food and beers costed us only 250Y. Most entrees were between 10-15Y. Highly recommended.

While talking and smiling sweetly, the 2 girls were exchanging a few barbs. Ling Ling told my girl her smile was ugly with her teeth. My girl responded that Ling Ling is just a bag full of bones... Ling ling told my girl that I would actually prefer to sleep with her. She wished my girl would just fuck off.

It was a romantic 2 days with these 2 girls. It was almost like hanging out with a sweet girlfriend, except the part when I had to give her money. But then all my GF's always had access to my money.

The pretty young girl I went out with was Shu Hue Lan. I will always remember her.

I think ktv girl is a hit and miss even they act like a GFE at the ktv by the time she is in the hotel room the attuide change , but I do think ktv in Dongguan area have better GFE than in Macau but quality is not as good ,Macau get the best talent form all over china .

I think girl at sheraton and cinese at houjie is better train by the manager there to take care of the customer they get many repeat customer mostly tawian and from hong kong big spender they want to keep them happy but it is also the attuide of the girl to learn.

A HK friend who frequents Dongguan told me the other day that there are some very intriguing cybercafes in Dongguan, where girls go naked or wear see-throughs. His wife was a few feet behind him at the moment we chatted, so he couldn't go into any details. I was very happy with the beauty, charms and good manners of the Sheraton KTV girls. In our case, 2 out of 2 is 100%.

I forgot to mention that, SHu Hue Lan had mentioned in the introduction, that the Sheraton has many classes of girls, some charge as much as 3000Y per night.

We were so smitten by the 1000Y girls that we took them quickly without seeing the 3000Y line up. Too bad. Big spenders should take one for the team and report on the 3000Y girls.

You can buy advanced ticket from hotel or train staion at changping ,you can take the free shuttle from Liu Hua to Pazhou complex , I take the subway from Pazhou fair complex to east trainstations have more train to changping and there are also a ticket booth inside the fair but the line is very long take me 45 min wait to get my ticket so get it in advanced , I am sure there are also shuttle to the fair but only the large 5 star hotel will offer that .

Got into Baoan airport and took one of those freelancing transport at the airport. Paid 150 RMB to Luohu. Not sure if its the smartest thing. Then again it was a long day and it was raining. The driver was chatty and was telling me where to play. Said in CP, the best KTV would be HuiHwa and the best sauna would be Prince. In Houjie, the best KTV would be Sheraton and the best sauna would be a place that sound like Kang ( like the emperor Kangxi ) Di ( like the word for ground ) Was told that in Sheraton they grade the girls into A, B and so on. A being the highest grade. Then within A, they pick 10 of the hottest and they called them the 10 great beauties. Of course the price is going to be high, like 4000 RMB. Wondering if anyone ever tried them. I am tempted to go see this weekend but its hell of a boring to go KTV all alone.

I was a bit p..off with such short notice considering I have booked this weeks ago. $30 extra per night is a fair`bit considering I am staying there for 10 nights.

My favourite budget hotel in CP is the Hua Yu Hotel. Exit the Lucky Hotel and turn right. Take the first small street on your right and walk straight ahead 100 meters. Nice clean rooms for only 130rmb. Saturday nights 150rmb.

BillThe rate must be in RMB per night according to the "going rate". I think you should suck it up and pay the 30RMB per night extra which will probably total 300RMB or ($36) for your entire stay. Seriously, I've been in CP where all the hotels and i mean ALL of them (where you'd want to stay) were booked. So while it's annoying, I don't think it's a bad deal.

Actually, the name of the place is Kande Club. It's located behind the Sheraton across from the McDonald's. I would agree with the fellow, I also think it's the best sauna in Houjie.

Trains stop running around 11PM and yes the Dongguan station is in Changping. As for cab fare, well, that's gonna depend a lot on two things. First is your negotiation skill, and 2nd is where you catch it. What you should do is take a cab to the Guangshen Expressway. Near there, there's usually a bunch of cabs waiting to go back to Dongguan and Shenzhen. You can usually catch those cabs for about 50-80RMB. If you just catch a regular cab back to CP, it'll probably cost over 200RMB.

I've been to the Sheraton KTV a few dozen times and I've probably taken "model" girls back about a dozen times. One of the girls was a real model for catalogs and print ads. I saw a 20 ft. picture of her somewhere in Humen. Anyway, those girls aren't 3000-4000. The going rate is 1500. One time I gave one girl 2000, but that was because I gave her extra for being a good sport.

You guys have to understand, a lot of times, KTV girls will tell you a lot of nonsense about how much other girls get to try and get you to give them more. Don't believe everything you hear from them.

IMHO, paying too much is just plain stupid, paying the market price is just good sense.

E.g. Deluxe Single Room (our standard booked room, weekdays/weekends): 338/358 (incl. 2 BF, each CNY 35 plus taxes value)

Between 2007/04/15 and 2007/04/30 the weekend rate applies.

There is a simple rule: "When something you want to buy is too expensive from your POV, just don't buy it!" It's simple...isn't it.
I already stated in another post what you can do to get corporate rates, just follow this hints or try them. But keep in mind that there are factors like fairs increasing every kind of service...inkl. rooms...and girls too.

As long you throw money after a gal, 150/200/500/600/800/1000/..., as long you are not in a position to complain...from my POV. Just try to get two BF vouchers from your LT gal...you will see what will happen. m2c

have to admit miraton is a very nice hotel thus i stayed there for 8 days back in october last year & i'll not going to change my plan despite the price hike. the high speed broadband internet is the main reason!!. what annoys me is when you have booked this and the price "locked in" weeks in advance & in addition i have also booked 3 other rooms for friends thought they might take this into consideration for the discount.
ok enough of that.. will have to downgrade on ktv scene to bbs for one day :)
oah i am hoping we can meet up again & enjoy the hot & spicy sichuan food across the road!

Before and until 2007/04/13 the rate for this room is 298/328. A friend informed me that Miraton and Hui Hua will raise prices at the same time and not only during/because of Canton Fair. The reason is, that "biz" is good now and so one of the oldest biz/market rules applies: High demand -> high price, low demand -> low price.

If I remember right, there will be a new hotel across Century. CP already has a high hotel density but new hotels will raise up and this only because of this xxx-biz - from my POV. There is not such a big regular factory biz to feed all hotels in CP.

Concerning Canton Fair:
Insider already stay in DG during Canton Fair to avoid GZ and its raised prices during this time. Around 55 min railway trip away from GZ East Station (30 min from SZ) you can stay in nice good 4* hotels starting with 290 (4* national hotel, broadband, big bed, nice rooms, LCD TV, DVD Player on request and for free). Of course for people only in need of a bed there are also cheaper rooms available...with internet access too.

MpfsLover talked to the cab driver with the Chinese name for the hotel. It's across the large boulevard from the Huihua, a few doors from the 24-hour McDonald's.

The rate is 45Y per hour. I had a masseuse with a very attractive figure. Her face was about average. This girl proceeded to exercise every muscles and every joints on my body, including my feet, in many different creative ways. She was working hard every minute. 3/8/10 is for the regular girls. 5/10/15 is for the model girls, although I think that if you give the model girls 300, they won't say anything. I did that one time with a couple of model girls and neither complained.

As for when the girls leave after LT, I usually send 'em away when I wake up, but a couple times, I had them hang out with me til the mid afternoon. I gave 'em the same amount and nobody's said anything. More than a few times, I've had to force the girl awake and tell them to go home so I can leave and do stuff. The people I go to KTV with tend to drink heavy, usually over 20 bottles of wine, or 7-8 bottles of whiskey for 4 guys and a half dozen girls. Sometimes, the girls overdo it.

ok, so i got caught up in a girl named jia jia, the ktv mamasan that one wing low (owl) reported about. before i go into the drama, i'll give you all the short story. jia jia is a "xiao mommy" (assistant mamasan) at the ktv in the hui hua hotel. some of the xiao mommies will accompany customers to drink, and possibly go out (i.e., st, maybe even lt). some of them rarely go out and provide fs, and some do it more often. the rates for a xiao mommy may or may not be higher than the standard 2-5-8 rates, depending on the circumstances. going back to 12-18-06, we see that owl had jia jia for 600 (500 plus 100 bar fine). over the past couple weeks, i had jia jia twice (st 1000, then st 900) and another xiao mommy named xiao wang, also twice (st 500, then lt 800). jia jia is the prettier one (at least with makeup on) and xiao wang was more active in bed.

here's the long story (for those of you who like drama). about 2 weeks ago, i met up with oah, szexpat, and a few other mongers for a little tour of cp. it was my first time there. those guys left the next day, but with their help getting me familiarized, i was well on my way to finding all kinds of hidden treasure. i had maybe 3 girls from the take-out shops during my first two days, the best being a tallish shanghai girl with light brown hair, and nice-sized tits even though she was slender. but, all the while, i had owl's story about jia jia in the back of my mind. so, i went over to the hui hua to investigate. i pretended that i was checking the place out for friends who would show up the next week. they showed me a typical room, and at one point, a mommy gave me her card (this was xiao wang). then, when i got back out to the reception area, i asked about jia jia. i waited a few minutes, and then a staff member brought jia jia. so, what was i supposed to say, like, "i heard about a guy who did you, and i wanna do you too"? as owl described, she looked rather businesslike, and not too friendly. i just said i have a friend who knows her, but, not knowing owl's real name, i was unable to tell her who the friend was. she asked me what his phone number is, and i was unable to provide that. so here i am, looking like an idiot, not being able to clarify how i know her, or what i want. so, jia jia had the staff member give me jia jia's phone number, and then she went back to work.

when i got back to my hotel (the miraton, which is next door), i called jia jia and asked her if she wanted to meet after work. she said she gets off too late, i should try her the next afternoon. with nothing to do, i decided to call the other mommy, xiao wang, the one who gave me her card. i figured, who knows, maybe i'll have better luck with her. so, i called the number on the card, and told her i'm the foreigner she just met, and right away she asked if i wanted her to arrange a girl for me. just going with the flow, i said ok. what i didn't know was that the girl on the phone was not the same xiao wang who gave me the card, it was her older sister (who could also be called xiao wang, same family name -- so let's call the older one wang jiejie). then, three girls showed up at my room, but none of them was that hot looking, so i let them go. then i called the number again (thinking i'm talking to xiao wang) and wang jiejie was apologetic, saying they don't have enough girls at that time of night (around midnight) and told me she'd send over a xiao mommy (at this point i didn't know there were different levels of mommy). i started wondering if jia jia would show up. i waited at least 15 minutes and no one showed up. then, i was peeking through the peekhole in my door to see who was going by. then, i heard a doorbell, but it sounded like it was a few doors away. i thought maybe the girl went to the wrong room, so i went out to the hallway to look around. i didn't see anyone, and i noticed that the further i got from my door, the farther the doorbell sounded. then, i figured maybe the girl went to the room one floor down by mistake, so i went down a floor. there, i saw xiao wang (who i had thought i was talking with on the phone), and it seemed, to both of us, to be a coincidence that we'd see each other there. she said she had some work thing to do, and was walking around and talking on the phone. i told her that i'm waiting for a girl, and i guess she then confirmed on the phone that i'm the person she was supposed to meet. once we got to my room, she explained to me that she was not the person i spoke with on the phone, that was her older sister (wang jiejie). also, she said her sister had sent her to my hotel under the pretense that there was a xiaojie who got drunk and needed to be taken back. apparently, her older sister sort of tricked her into going to meet me. once we were both clear on what was going on, we proceeded to do st, and i was given the standard ktv girl rate of 500.

while i was with her, she explained the "xiao mommy" thing to me, and that some of them do customers, although some more than others. she said that she rarely does it, and i believe her due to her reactions, e.g., shy mannerisms. xiao wang is rather petite, with long curly hair, and seems a bit embarassed about having small breasts, trying to keep them covered up. in bed, she kind of squirmed and squealed, kind of with an innocent quality, not like a xiaojie at all. later, i asked her about jia jia, she said that jia jia is one of the xiao mommies who does customers more often.

the next afternoon, i called jia jia, and she said to try her again during work hours. so, around 9 pm, i called her again, and she came over. once she was in my room, she still wanted to know how i know her, and, not knowing owl personally, i couldn't describe him or anything. so i called johnnykon and had him talk to her, but she still wasn't satisfied. anyway, we got past that issue and on to the negotiation. she wanted 1000y. that's more than i had expected to pay, but i wasn't about to blow the deal by trying to haggle, so i just agreed to it, and we did the st. she's also kind of petite, but not too petite, and has nice size breasts relative to her overall body size; in general, a better body than xiao wang. the problem with her is that she has a bit of a cold, businesslike manner, and so it's kind of hard to warm up to her. in bed, she wasn't as active as xiao wang, or as active as owl had described. however, i did get the impression that she did kind of enjoy it once the act was underway, and might enjoy a longer, harder session. maybe owl is a more studly performer than i am, or maybe it has something to do with how much she's had to drink. who knows.

over the next couple days, i kept trying to arrange a 2nd session with jia jia, but she kept being busy or whatever. having nothing to do, i went over to the hui hua to see if it's possible to just ask for another xiao mommy. this was early enough that they had plenty of ordinary xiaojie on hand, and they tried to get me to take one, but i wasn't interested. also, xiao wang said if i take a xiao mommy, they will charge me 800. i think she meant st. if that's a standard "xiao mommy" rate, i can only guess that the reason i paid 500 with xiao wang was because they were short of xiaojie and decided to give me the xiaojie rate (kind of like when you reserve a compact car, and they don't have any, so they give you the mid-size at the compact rate). in any case, it seems that you can't just walk in and order up a "xiao mommy" line-up or whatever. it seems that a customer will ask for a particular one, e.g., if he happpens to like the one who is assisting them, and sometimes the xiao mommy will go, sometimes she won't. in any case, i left without choosing anyone, because they were being rather pushy, trying to get me to choose a xiaojie.

I agree with the consensus here, not to overpay. In general, I'm of the "cheap bastard" variety, and I will make every effort to keep my expenses down, and not spoil the market. I don't believe that overpaying helps anyone.

I got a KTV mommy from Cinese a couple of years ago when I used to be a regular there. I think there was one span when I went like 12 straight days in a row. Look at real estate in Guangdong. 4 years ago, high rise apartments in Nanshan district in Shenzhen sold for around 3000RMB a Sq. M., now, it's over 14,000RMB. That's 366% increase in 4 years. Everytime a new complex goes up, it sells out before it's even built. Somebody's buying 'em all. There's serious cash in Guangdong now. When all is said and done, the girls are still prostitutes. There's nothing wrong with that, especially since I benefit from it. The thing is though, there's NOTHING poor about them. These girls typically make somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000-20,000RMB a month. Typical salary for a college graduate working at an international firm is 5000RMB a month. If an uneducated girl with no other skill except fucking guys can make that much money, more power to them, but please don't be under any illusion that they do this for any other reason than money. If you don't give them the money, they're not gonna fuck you or anything else for that matter.

Somewhere along the line, all these girls made the conscious decision to fuck for money because it's so much easier than the alternative. What are the alternatives? Working at a factory for 800-1500RMB a month. Working as service staff at restaurants, hotels, etc., etc., 600-1200RMB a month. Going to college for 4 years after finishing high school and getting a degree and then working for a large multinational, 3000-5000RMB a month but requires 5-7 years of additional schooling in addition to tuition money. All these girls pretty much decided that none of these were for them because they much rather have the quick and easy money.

Finally, please don't tell me you respect them either. If you were to introduce one of these girls to your mother, would you tell your mother that she fucks guys for $25 a pop? Of course not. If the girl were a physics professor at Beijing University but making only a quarter of the money the hooker makes, would you tell your mother? Of course you would and you would be proud of that fact.

You may very well like the girls, and you may respect them for being a nice/good person, but please don't tell me you respect what they do. Please don't tell me they work hard. I never had anything stolen from me while staying in Miraton. I left my laptop on my table when I go to showers or go out to monger. Although it is small enough to fit into the safe, (at the size I can fit 4 of them in the safe!) I never need to do that at all. I remembered once I accidentally left my wallet on the table (I thought I had locked it up in the safe), when I returned, the house keeping had already made up my room and she/he left a small note on top of my Wallet to remind me to keep my wallet in the safe.

But it would be wise to only carry less than 1000RMB cash, leave your Passport, Wallet in the safe when you go out. Like what Santa recommended, carry a photo copy of your passport with you. If you are stop by the police for anything, always remember the hotel number or carry the hotel card, call back to the hotel and have them speak to the police.

I could put my notebook with dimension 33.5x29x5 cm + supplies + other small valuable things (wallet, passport...) into the in-room safe without any problem.
Nothing is 100% safe, for such safes there is always a magic number to open it when customer forget his magic number. Anyway, I always felt and still feel safe when staying at Miraton and other hotels. Of course you have to watch your items as lower the rate and environmental condition are going, meaning staying in "deep" countryside and real local "hotels".

For hotel recommendations I only can say RTFF. By doing this you also will find enough information about locations in CP and how to go there (hint - search for "Google Earth").
But, I also know that it's more easier and convenient to do this in a group or with a guide. For this, I recommend not to wait until somebody will contact you...be more active and contact members by yourself, because you maybe are in need for "helping" hands...not other members. m2c

I rarely leave my room with the laptop in the open. Room safe in 4 star hotel are relatively safe (so to speak).

Of course, you can leave your laptop with the front desk but I don't know if they provide larger safe in the lobby? Shoot them a fax or e-mail, asking about the use of their front desk safe. Let us know of the result?

BillHonestly, I've been at Hui Hwa and Hui Mei regularly and NEVER had a problem with security at either place in the room. They are strict, and I've even left a 20RMB and 50RMB in my pockets doing laundry and the staff will knock on my door and give it back to me. They could've easily pocketed it.

However, if you are REALLY anal, then use the security lock feature that's sold for laptops. $20 USD and you can get a metal cable. Doubt someone will be sawing through the fixtures to get to that.

I've always had my laptop, iPod, etc. And left it out and NEVER had problems. I usually put the smaller things in the safe, and if I was concerned, would zip up the larger things in my suit case and lock my suit case and put it in the closet.

They'd have to go through LOTS of trouble and hallways rigged with security cameras to get away with it. If that happens. Then I guess it was meant to be.

What I'd be careful of is hiding information on hard drives and on laptops. I'm concerned my data could be compromised, especially VERY compromising pictures, etc.

How many times have we walked passed a open room in the Miraton and see the employee working the bathroom or no employee in it. It just take one bad hotel guest or an off duty working girl to sneak into the room and take your stuff.

Agreed, the better hotel are more honest. In fact, at the nearby New Century Hotel, I left my safe open and it cause the assistant manager to make a report on it. The open safe was found by the cleaning staff. They even asked me to count my money to make sure it was all there.

I'm not paranoid, just like to use caution.

BTW, when you bring in a working girl, put away all your valuables. Even the laptop or large items. Don't let them use the laptop or other valuables against you when the situation turns sour. They can easily threaten you by dropping or knocking your notebook off the desk.

I had been to control rooms of several 4 -5 Stars hotel where the central security control is located. The Camera monitors are manned 24hours a day. But! all you need is one lazy security guard to fall asleep during his shift.

With my luck, one day, I'll come back to the room and the room safe is gone.

Answers below:

1) Most 4 & 5 Stars hotels in the bigger cities provide ADSL. Most of them in 5 Stars are not free. Wireless is something that is unheard of in most parts of China. However China Unicom provides a subscription base wireless Internet (CDMA) that covers most parts of China. You need to purchase a device approx 1200RMB (USB or PCM/CIA card) and a CDMA SIM with 60 mins of usage per month which will cost about 1500 / year.
2) Most laptops have auto switching power supply. Check you power supply for the voltage. It should read something like 110 ~ 240V What you need only to worry about is the power socket. China uses the “V” shape 220 Volts sockets. Most hotels also provide the sockets with two flat pins (Similar to American but without the rounded Earth pin).
3) On RAIDs, yes you should first RTFF for the latest read on ISG. You should also carry at least a Photo copy of your passport, the number of your hotel or any photo ID that shows that you are an American Citizen. If you are not American Chinese or Asian looking, they will normally ask to fuck off! Most of the time, the local Police will not bother to go through the trouble of pulling a non-citizen of China. The exception if you had committed a serious act or you got pulled in by the Secret Police.

china's national wireless internet access is too slow. too slow for voip and slingbox transmission. i had look into it and it's not worth getting. unless you need instance e-mail reception and that's what it's good for.

most 4-5 stars hotels in big city do charge you extra for internet access but i have found that the local internet cafe beat them by 1/10 of the price. but the disadvantage is that i have been only 1 in 4 internet cafe that allowed me to plug in my laptop. if you're in a major city, starbuck has free wireless internet access but that was last dec. things change in china so you'll never know if it's still free today.

i have measured ul speed in miraton and new century and they were fast as 400kps. not super fast but fast enough to do work and be connect to the us. also fast enough to connect my slingbox module and watch real time tv from san franscisco. but at the shitty jin yu hotel next to the gd regency in zh, the speed was at 56k and my cat5 cable would not even work with their lower speed.

if you're staying at the miraton, new century or lucky hotel, they can rent you a room with a computer and internet access for an extra 30 to 50rmb per day.

regarding the voltage, ag is right again. practically all us laptop ac adapter are 100-240 ac and will auto switch when you're in china. you just need an outlet adapter for to plug into the wall or outlet switch. hotel can easily provide. my dell laptop bought last november and fujitsu two years ago both automatically switch from 120 to 240 when i connect in china. just look on your adapter box for something like 100~240v and you're set. otherwise some hotel will give you a transformer to use for free.

one thing i do suggest is maybe bring a rj45 coupler and a 6' to 12' cat5 wire with you in case you're not happy being tie to the hotel room desk. i like running my laptop on my bed. hotels that offer internet access will provide the free cat5 cable.

again, ag is right. always have a copy of your us passport with you china visa in your pocket. leave the original in the hotel room safe. best to pretend you don't understand chinese even if you are chinese. works for me but that always depend on the situation. even with the working girls. there's times that i have a sour situation with the girls and all i would say to them was that i don't understand and eventually they give up on their demand and leave or let me leave. in fact one situation i had in zh and oah also had a situation too that day was with a girl who threaten to get her "big brother" if i didn't pay more. i keep saying that i didn't understand in mandarin and after five minutes, she gave up, slam the door and left.

This is not always the case. I remember one specific time in Sha Tsui, SZ when the LE were not happy with you and thought you were just bullshitting them about not speaking Chinese. If Mr. B were not there to swear by it and bail you out, you might have had some trouble.

As far as rooms with computer, I thought Walter ($40 more a day) and WW are the only hotels that have them. It's good to know that Lucky has them also. I agree with AG, unless you committed a serious crime, most likely the police will leave you alone in a RAID but there are stories to the exception.

1. I have heard stories of Taiwanese/Hong Kongnese arrested in RAIDs.

2. Two Japanese autoworkers arrested in Guangdong. Each had to pay 8000RMB. I recall some Japanese tourists were also arrested in Shanghai last year.

I am sure there are other stories of RAIDS and arrests. Nevertheless, you are safe since the police will generally not bother foreigners. They will ask you for ID and tell you to leave. The girls, pimps and mamasan have more to worry. Last, be careful mongering alone.

I have gone through alot of security checkpoints and spoke only English and they never pressed me for more information. I had been asked question in Chinese immediately after giving my US passport and once you answer in English, with "I'm sorry I don't understand," they will wave you through. This also applies when I have been confronted in the past by security guards.

You're right, he wasn't happy with me and told Mr. B that he was surprised that an overseas Chinese did not speak Chinese. It's not the first time I have gone through questionings. Usually once you start speaking English as though it's your native language, they don't want to deal with you.

If Mr. B wasn't there and it was just me and you, he would have left me alone if I continued speaking English. He would had been more annoyed but if he saw my US passport, what could he possibly do but believe that I could not speak Chinese. What trouble would I had been in? I was just roaming Sha Tsui in the street and I was not caught with my pants down in a raid. Granted, he knows what I'm there for because he also knows that foreign tourist are there for the same thing as the locals and Hong Kongneses.

I'm not guessing but I'm been there many times and this answer is based on experiences. Trust me, you don't have to be a real white foreigner. They could have easily mistakenly me for a Korean, Japanese or non-Chinese tourist.

But we'll never know for sure. I see your view too.

when chatting with one of my police friends, they told me that they, also hates american chinese who don’t speak their chinese ancestor’s language. i recalled the time when my abc friend (who doesn’t speak a word of chinese) was stopped by the local police, they would not let him go. by the time i reached him, he was surrounded by 3 policemen shouting down in his face asking him to stop been funny and pretending that he can’t speak chinese. even after i told them and had my friend show them his american passport, they were still scolding him that it is a disgrace to his ancestors for not speaking chinese. although the police know the existence of abc, they do not appreciate it much for abc not to understand chinese.

this also brings up this point about abc:

a lot of the locals assume that all american are either white or black, they do not believe in the existence of abc. i was in beijing last few days with mock-a-bee. every girl in maggies, pigs or hollywood did not believe us when we told them we were from usa. their assumption of american is that either we must be white or black.

so, bill, be careful, may be next time the police may just throw you into jail with the locals detainees and have your ass raped! :d

Yet, I have seen Africans and Middle Eastern people get hammered at customs. I try to avoid their lines because I know they will be scrutinized an grilled. I saw a man (Indian) make a mistake on his customs card and the agent told him to go all the way back to the end of the line and do another one yet, my buddy (American) has been over his month by several days and they just smile and stamp his visa.

Maybe you meant ABC's with "blue" passports?

BTW, I'm 80% ABC, in order words, born in HK and raised US and speaks basic Cantonese.

Another thing, I really don't have to pretend I cannot speak Chinese (Mandarin) cause I don't. But that police in Sha Tsui was speaking to me in Cantonese. Through my more than 10 trips into China in the past 5 years, I have just learned to speak English only to authority. One concern I have is that if they talk too deep of level of Cantonese, I won't understand them.

As a result, I can't really enjoy my time in China with MMs. Do you feel the same? If possible, can you give me some contact in August when I stop by CP again. I would really appreciate that.

As for loud-mouthed Chinese, I believe most oversea Chinese (including ABC) are well mannered and polite. As I go to restaurants or other public places in CP, I seldom hear "Chinese" people say "thank you" or "please". Unfortunately, that's how I identify oversea Chinese in China.

Most Taiwanese likes to show off their wealth in front of MMs and among themself. Some portion of people from HK act like they own China because they look down on mainland people. A lot of men in mainland are mean and cruel to the MMs. But unfortunately, majority of the mainland MMs will only marry or have a "true" relationship with the mainland Chinese. These are just my opinion.

As for passport, the cover of mine is black with pages inside blue. I have only been stopped once by the custom people. But as soon as I showed them my US passport, they immediately stop harassing me and let me through without checking my luggage. That's when I decide that acting dumb is the best way to go for us oversea Chinese in China. And finally, I do agree that "whites" definitely have special privileges in China because of the intimidation (communication and appearance) factor.

When I do go to China I travel with an ABC, who speaks some Chinese and is working on it. Perhaps because he is with white Americans he has not had trouble with immigration. The funny thing is watching him deal with regular Chinese. They look at him as if he is stupid because he can not speak Chinese. fluently

Across the street from the Miraton Hotel is a Mcdonalds, walk down the road between the McDonalds and the Walter Hotel. You will see many little houses (i.e. shacks), this is the place. The girls will stand outside the doors of these little shacks and price is 30rmb for around 30 minutes of service.

This place is far worse than any BBS I have encountered and appears to be much more dangerous due to the local guys (i.e. mafia) that sit outside the shops watching you come and go. Be Careful!

IMHO, many of the catacomb girls are cute and friendly. The problem with the place is the accomodation provided. The places all smell like hell, and at 30RMB the turnover is very high. Having said that, I recommend that every monger try once if they can stomach it. I don't think it is that dangerous as it looks. Many of those "mafia" looking guys are just the locals hanging out.

Sorry guys, in view of safety to newbies members on the board I must make you guys aware of the following.

1) If you read the archives newspapers back in May 2005, a shot was fired at a plain-clothes police because he was trying to pull in one of the mafia from the Catacombs. Lucky the shot did not hit anyone but it triggers a clean up operations back in May 2005. Obviously someone in the mafia gang carries a real gun.
2) Yes, it may take 10 to 20 small guys to pin one of us down, but all it takes is just one 3 inches knife to stop a person heart.
3) Don’t be a hero, hero die young.

I am not been paranoid or anything, but as a season monger, we know where and what to avoid. We know our get away if we meet trouble, but please do not give the newbies a false sense of security in thinking that nothing will happen even if a fight does break up at the catacomb. Do not under-mind these small Chinese mafias, I had seen what they can or cannot do to you.

Look out for yourself and observes what is going on around you. For those who thinks I am paranoid or BS about this, go ahead, go to do a girl at the catacomb and try to get away without paying.

If you're walking into the area correctly (at least one way I know of) is that the large community swimming pool would be on your right side as you walk into the area. You would be walking the long length of the pool. Then, you'll come across a store where there is a billard table on the outside and a possible large broken sign that proclaim the price to be 2.00 or 5.00.

If you stand with your right side to the billard table and to the side of that store, then up ahead, if they're out, would be the first couple of SWs in the catacomb. The maze takes about 15 to 30 minutes to walk through.

Search for Laowai123's Google map. Best tool to find anything in CP.

Don't really know, this was the price I was quoted by a couple of the girls when we (OAH, AG, Laowai123 and about half a dozen other members) did a walking tour.

I have been to some pretty nasty BBS's in China and these rank right up there. The girls appear to be "farm fresh", but I personally don't want to go into one of those stank rooms with a stopwatch.

I met the "boss" one day and he gave me a tour around the area. He is one of the guys that sits out in front of one of the shops on the right just as you enter the area. If you just go, do a girl, pay your money and split, you are pretty safe. If you feel more comfortable, you can go with a buddy or a group.

Just like to add, the last time when I spoke to one of the "Boss" was they offer 60 for ST and 180 for LT takeout. Laowais is charge a little more. But he also said; they normally do not allow take out unless you are staying at the Walter Hotel. They do not want to girls to go too far. I had asked them what about Miraton or Hui Hwa. They said NO.

He also asked me to show my ID and he will ask his "Boss" if it is all right for me to takeout the girls. Of course, I wasn't too interested to do any girls from there and was asking these questions for information only.

But if any one of you are interested in takeouts at the Catacomb, you may look for this "Boss", just go to the Catacomb look for the Pool table, and ask for "Ah Keong".

However; I would never recommend anyone to mess around at the catacombs.

These are just my opinion.

As for passport, the cover of mine is black with pages inside blue. I have only been stopped once by the custom people. But as soon as I showed them my US passport, they immediately stop harassing me and let me through without checking my luggage. That's when I decide that acting dumb is the best way to go for us oversea Chinese in China. There's was a discussion a year or so ago on whether some of us were willing to give up our U.S. citizen rights should we enter the country with our U.S. passport or as Hong Kong residents. Most of us preferred to keep our rights as an U.S. citizen should we get caught in some unrespectable activities.

I would think you have lesser rights as a HK citizen or given less rights by the China government if you were a HK citizen than compared with an U.S. citizen?

Sometimes it's not the convenience of gong in and out of the country but rather the "back up plan" if caught in a raid.

Now, if I didn't monger at all and was retired or did only real business in China without ever crossing the line, I would consider your suggestion. But until then. I will wait on the long ass line as a foreigner.

I asked my buddy who is senior guy at US Embassy in HK what happens if you are usa citizen but use the China re-entry card. Was told the party line is us embassy would still offer their full cooperation and guidance, same as if you came in under us passport. I have a "return to village" card issued in 1995. I travel in China with my passport. I speak several dialects enough to have a conversation.

Travel on your passports (in China) is my advice.

Well, here we go again. April & October are the two worst months to be in S. China. I like the sauna experience as it is totally different to the Aussie action. I am a 45yo white professional who is starting som Chinese trade and hope to be here more often. I like the cultural attitude where satisfaction of a mans needs is paramount.

Because I did not know the areas very well and it is Fair time and prices are crazy, I ended up in a hotel in Tianhe which is not in the centre of the action. Even so I tried the sauna and I may venture to the KTV (my first time) tonight. Look for the posts on GZ board.

Leaving GZ tomorrow for some meetings in Dongguan and staying at Grand Noble Hunan, so any advice would be helpfull. I am yet to experience the KTV thing, but understand that it is better with company and very good in Dongguan. I would prefer to sit around and have some drinks and get to know the girls before taking them out. I only speak english but I am sure it would be a lot of fun in the right company.

Hope I can become part of the ISG family and hook up when in the area, need some experienced tour guides.

I have no further updates on this since the first update on Wed. Those Copper, are they in Vans, Patrol cars, motorbikes or those golf buggys? Are they wearing bullet proof vest? If they are you are quite sure they will be conducting RAIDs. As I mentioned before, guns are quite common in Dongguan and that's why, the cops will wear bullet proof vest in special operations like RAIDs.

Now in Beijing, I went to my favorite sauna, and had a hard time getting them to acknowledge that FS is available. I did get served after all. But it seemed much stricter than before, we even had to go to a different floor, not the usual massage rooms. The girl explained to me that the police are doing heavy scrutiny for 60 days, I think she meant April and May. After that, who knows. She said it's all of China, and harshest in Beijing, due to the coming of the 2008 Olympics. I was in CP last night and met up with Downunder96 (A true gentleman) We had a great time! First with a footie at the Walter Hotel, this is my second time there and it is one of the best around. Private rooms with sexy talk with the girls.

We then did a walking tour behind the Hui Mei and saw 3 shops, we caught a taxi to the Yalan and checked out 3 shops there (never went into the Yalan though). All the normal mommies were working and it was business as usual.

Please be assured, I am not here to discredit you or your sources. I have actually observed a raid on the Yalan KTV in the past, where those SWAT guys in bullet proof vests were in attendence. Most of the cops I saw last night were the crowd control type. I did see some driving around in the golf carts and some in the little blue and whites and actually had a cop car pull right up behind us last night as I had my girl in tow and we were talking to Jojo in the street. Nothing was said and they didn't even give us a second look.

I would certainly not enter a BBS if I saw police activity outside the joint, that would just be sheer stupidity on ones part, just be street smart and aware of your surroundings.

As many have stated in the past, there is a degree of danger in this hobby and prostitution is illegal here so, you will always take your chances no matter where you monger in China.

just managed to get an update of the raid on the sauna i had posted about on wed.

apparently the raid was on a sauna further away (still had not managed to get the name of the sauna) but contact said that it is one of the smaller ones further away from the town center of cp and not in the big hotel. it is suppose to be nearer to the factories... (i think that's east side of cp).

the only reason why the sauna was raided was because some bloody idiots customers had been complaining and reporting to the police that the sauna has **** girls working in there, and they are robbing the customers (i think they meant ripping off). while on the sauna management side, they are defending by saying that they run a legitimate bath house; all the prices are stated clearly on the price list at the entrance of the sauna. by entering the sauna and reading the price list, they are indirectly agreeing to pay the prices as stated.

majority of the saunas customer comes from factories run by the foreigners nearby. the customers who are pulled into the police station on wed were majority foreigners and they are all in one same group. no action was taken on them but they were release only 12 hours of detention and questioning. the police had found no **** girls by verification of the ids of the girls. both the sauna operators and the customer were given a warning that there should be no vice activities in china.

Guys,

All the mummies in CP at one point or another had been picked by the Police before. They will stay in Jail until someone comes to the station pays the fine of 500 RMB to bail them out. I have to agree with Szexpat. Jo Jo is nice (and very tasty) but her girls - at least, in my experience -- are the worst in Yalan.
