Will be staying in this Patong-based boutique-style hotel a month (July 19-August 19), so I hope it is as good as the website shows. Got a really good offer from the owner through E-mail -- 23,000 Baht Deluxe Room including breakfast and airport transfer. Anyone been there?

Oh and he confirmed it's 100% guest-friendly.

Wow, thanks for sharing!

As per reports on tripadvisor (despite being mistakenly listed as being in Kathu instead of Patong), this is a hidden gem 200m south of Bangla road and 500m from beach.

Surely worth an inquiry.

Could you PM the owner's contact info? I will make sure to mention your name ;)

http://www.baipho.comI tried to book at the Baipho two years ago after reading about it on here. Unfortunately it was fully booked for Christmas but the owners had bought the hotel next door and were renovating that in a similar style. They called it the Baithong

http://www.baithong.com/

I managed to snag the best room in the place and it was the nicest hotel room. I was quoted 3,000 Baht per night back then but it was Christmas and as I say the best room, in fact I have to say that it is one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.

I had a laptop computer and internet access at my disposal (in the room) and mounted on a carved wooden screen at the foot of the bed was a widescreen television.

There were tasteful leather chairs and another widescreen in the lounge part of the room. The only trouble was that sometimes the remote would turn on the wrong TV. The bathroom was plain but functional but there was a little step at the doorway that I tripped on a couple of times, so beware of when you have had a few sherbets.

It's location is pretty good for most places and is about a 3-5 minute walk to Bangla Road (depending on how hot it is and how fast you walk). The taxi driver from the airport had difficulty finding it but I guess that's because it was new. It's a good idea to tell the driver the street name as well as the hotel name though.

The only negative was that it was non-smoking but that was a small price to pay for a very luxurious and comfortable stay.

There is no reception at night so it can be a bit of a bugger to get in if you have had a beer or two.

Oh and most important for the folk on here it was 100% girl friendly.

The Phuket Reports and Phuket Hotels threads are getting MUCH less activity than other regions (BKK, Pattaya).

As I have booked 5 days in each city, I have started to question the idea of passing by Phuket.

What's the deal there? I hear it's more expensive than Pattaya but less than Bangkok. But is it the least interesting place from the 3 cities in terms of mongering? Or does ISG-Thailand's community simply tend to focus more on BKK and Pattaya for other reasons? (close community, living in BKK and/or Pattaya, etc...)

Same thing for Phuket Hotels. Admin has opened the thread recently (much appreciated), but other than my posts, it has had only 4 posts in 11 days, including one about another island.

PS: posted same message in Phuket Reporta and Phuket Hotels threads, as query applies to both.

I just booked my flight yesterday for Phuket (been there 10 years ago) and looking at the posts I can find I have narrowed down choices to Summer Breeze, Yorkshire Inn, Baipho or Baithong. I need to at least have a small desk for computer in my room and another sitting chair.

Would appreciate any new info or comparisons if anyone has been to more than one of the above. I am kind of leaning toward the Baipho & Baithong, however I would miss out on the gatherings that the other two hotels may have to over from being bigger.

Thanks

I am scheduled back to Patong the 1st week of november for 8 days. It's been 11 years since I was last there and would appreciate some info.

I have been looking at Yorkshire Inn, Summer Breeze, Baipho & Baithong. The later 2 seem smaller and a little low key. I would like the camaraderie of a larger hotel to meet people, however like my privacy also.

Does anyone have any experience in comparing these?

Thanks

I stayed at Summer Breeze for Monday, Tuesday and Friday night last week and absolutely loved it. The owner, Bill, is a stand up guy with a nice and dry sense of humour. Staff are all as friendly as can be, and are pretty easy on the eyes, for the most part.

My room was just over 1300B/night. Sleeping area + sitting area, with AC and two or three fans kicking around. Free Wi-Fi internet connection in the room and a computer downstairs to use if you don't have a laptop.

Only negative was the shower setup in the bathroom. Just couldn't get good water pressure or an appropriate water angle to get a satisfying shower.

Location gets top marks from me. I timed it at 6 minutes from my hotel room door to the door of Suzy Wong's A-Go-Go, walking at a healthy clip. Can't beat that.

Overall, great place to stay and I will do so again.

http://www.baipho.comHi,

I stayed now 2 times in the bahipo. I realy like the place very much. The owner is a swiss guy. Very frindla and he as a very grate stuff. Very friendly and open. And it is yes a very decrete place. An 100% GF!

We had a boat tour, (we did this now 2 times, and it is phantastic) the ownder of the boar recomendet the place. Perfect!

I had the luck to have 2 of the very nice rooms. I stayed ine time in the "old" part of the bahipo, and I like this rooms much more, because they have a very big bath and an open shower. So there is lot of room for fun in there! What I like.

The other room I had was in the "new" part and was the jaccoosy suite. Very nice room, bice bathtub, but a small bath itselve.

You fine everything in the room, perfect internet (free) with a good connection, and all the rest from softdrink to condoms.

I also like the location, it is not loud in the night, but still 5 miuntes from bangla road and 15 srom the beach.

So I think a very good place to stay.

Have a lot of fun and say "grüzi" to the owner.

You can not stay any closer to Bangla Rd but without the noise then staying at the Summer Breeze Hotel. I made a reservation thru their website and I didn't have to use credit card. When I arrived I just paid in cash. 990 baht/ night for a decent room, nothing fancy. Their website says 2000 baht in peak season. I won't stay at this place for 2000 baht.

It is a small hotel, sorrounded by other boutique type hotels. Yorkshire Hotel is just couple of building apart.

The Hotel does not have a lift.... So, I have to walk up 4 set of stairs when I go outside. Their wifi is OK and is free. No Breakfast but there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

It is Girl Friendly, but they will keep the girl's ID.

I arranged to have the Hotel pick me up from the Airport which they did and I paid 600 baht for the transfer.

My experience with a hotel that was not girl friend friendly was something else. Checked in with Thai girl friend. Hotel made photo copies of our ID's.

The sign at front desk said, "500BAHT JOINER FEE".

One time the entrance security guard chased us at four in the afternoon to see if my girlfriend was registered. She spoke Thai to him and he left us alone. Next time at four in the morning he ran up 3 flights of steps while we took the elevator. He ran down the hall after us! I shouted out that this is my wife and go away in Thai, and he left. We hurried to our room because my girlfriend needed the toilet fast. No time to chat with a security guard!

The hotel manager told me to leave my key at the front desk to prevent this happening again. They never informed us about leaving the key when we checked in. These hotels can add these fees to your bill if they want to. Hard to dispute joiner fees if you check in the hotel by yourself and alone. Joiner fees are big money makers for hotels. Clear profit when put in the pocket and not reported for taxes.

Guys,

Heading to Phuket next week just to let u know Salathai Resort confirmed they are GF no joiner fees at rate 1600 THB superior room and 2000 THB For deluxe roomsincluding breakfast and free pickup from airport GR8.

Since i want a king size bed and the only rooms available are the deluxe ones i have opted to go with the deluxe anywayz its only 9 US$ difference.

On of my colleagues just returned and i told him to stay at Salathai although not a 5 stars but he confirmed that the staff are very friendly resort near bangla and the beach just 5 mins and the rooms are very clean and it is very cosy resort.

Cheers Guys cant wait for Phuket

Called Baipho/Baitong today, no vacancy. Walked in Safari Hotel about 50 meters from the beach Bangla Road entrance. Got quoted 1500B for deluxe room with BF and WiFi. 1300 B for just room and WiFi. Cheaper on Agoda but decided to go for it. Confirmed its Guest Friendly. If the noise is too much at night will move else. Probably on same road but further down by Star Bucks. Saw a nice hotel there, will check out price.

From my limited experience thought I would add to this new area:

2008. Stayed Salathai Resort. Certainly gf with no problems at all. Rooms a bit dark and also a small trek to Bangla past some noisy street sellers on beach road. 10-15mins walk.

2009. Yorkshire. Also gf. Big centre for fellow travellers judging by number of Id cards at reception every day. Good size rooms (with odd concrete floors) big tv good brekkie and only 2 mins from Bangla

What I found was the big places Holiday Inn/Hilton etc are very unfriendly with girls and some small ones have joiner fees as way of making money. Also some won't confirm or deny in advance and of course no way at the Bangtao resorts.

Hi,

I want to stay close to the bars and clubs which is, I believe, Bangla Road. I am looking for a hotel up to 1000 Baht. I have looked on wotif for the last minute deals and seen some good bargains. Prices they quote for full rate seem a lot higher than the price on the hotel website, but their discount rates still seem good.

My ideas so far are:

Squareone (825 Baht)

Patong Premiere Resort (800 Baht until 31 Oct)

The other hotel I have seen is Lamai Inn 700 Baht.

Any reviews on any of the above? Probably a silly question, but are they all GF?

Thanks

Thanks,

JohnthescotI stayed at the thara last year, I never had a problem brining in guests!

There are many entrances to the hotel so it shouldn't be a issue, when I asked before I booked they told me 400b joiner.

I never had to pay it the 7 days I stayed.

Not a bad hotel, nice pool good breakfast.

Many thanksMost of what I've read says it is not GF. But I was able to walk a non P4P girl into the hotel and to my room in June at 2 in the morning. Nobody paid any attention. But she was well dressed, not like a beer bar girl.

My advice would be make sure you book the room for 2. That should at least enable you to get the first one in if you are challenged.

I have a friend (couple) that were staying at The Holiday Inn. It doesn't appear to be guest friendly. A guy that checked into a Villa said he has no problems but he was with 1 girl only the entire time so I don't think that counts, but I did witness a guy bringing a girl back around 5am and security stopped him from entering. Not sure what happened after that.

i recommend the grand orchid inn.

http://www.grandorchidinn.com/

guest friendly, no joiner fee, they take the girl's id. there's somebody at the front desk 24 hours. it's located 50 meters from patong beach and it's in between the burger king and mcdonald's on the beach road. the walk to bangla maybe takes 10 or 15 minutes, but i never timed it.

the staff is friendly, the rooms are very clean, and the internet speed is decent (www.speedtest.net says 2.6mb download, 0.84mb upload). they have a small safe, and laundry service is right next door for a reasonable price. the mattress is hard. the room is bright with a florescent light and 4 regular spotlight lights around it. the only negative thing is you have to go through the tourist area (beach road) to get to bangla road but it's not a big deal.

i have included pictures of the mini standard room.

Stayed at Baramee Hip Hotel over Christmas and new year, it was girl friendly with internet access in the room. Paid 1600 bhat per night. In 2 weeks had 20 women back there, no problem, girls had to leave there id down stairs. Room was cleaned every day. There were alot off women from russia staying in the hotel, but due to the amount off thai women they seen me come and go with, they didn't talk much with me. Rented a brand new motorbike from the hotel over the road (same owners) 250 bhat per day. Only had a few hundred killometers on the clock.

I am going back to patong for a month in febuary, they quoted me 24000 bhat for 30 nights, no joiner fee and internet access. May stay there then, not too sure. Might give the expat hotel a try, as it is prime location and saves me riding around on the motorbike pissed everynight.

This sounds like an BS ad for the Baramee hotel. I'm staying here right now and they are charging a 500 Baht joiner fee. Also for a new hotel it's pretty run down. The Internet barely works the breakfast is crap the fridge in my room was broken. Definitly stay away from this hotel.

Print the email out and give it to them at reception when you book in. I am staying there for 30 days from next week. Got it for 24000 bhat. I managed to negotiate them to waive the 500 bhat per women per night joiner fee. They will do it if you are a frequent traveller. The internet worked fine in my room. As for the breakfast I have never ate there. I don't like the idea off sitting in the hotel lobby eating. There are many places to eat along the beach road.

Greetings,

Deevana hotel, great hotel, friendly staff, 15 min walk from beach, 500 baht joiner fee, superb food, great restoraunt by the pool, hotel have also bungalovs and new building with rooms and 2 pools. From 2200 be for room and up, but after 1. Visit you can get (if you ask for it) a member card and from 10-20 % off the price for future visit. You can write them on email for airport pickup. They send for 6 of us big mini bus for 1200 be one way.

Rooms are clean and look like on website.

Do not try to get room with a jacuzzi, because it is not in your room. It is out of room, close to the pool, only you can use it only in day and water is cold in it

Only negative side (for some) 15 walk to beach.

Would like to know a seasoned mongers opinion on this hotel? Location, service & hotels Girl Friendly policy. I'm booking a double room so I'm thinking any hotel would not restrict me to invite a lady to the room.

How is location in relationship to Beach and Bangla?

The number one i Patong in terms of prices, atmosphere, people, service, location and food of course one of the best in thailand. Lots of rooms to choose from. Every time i felt like home.

Bill the owner and all his employees know how to create a nice atmosphere.

How is location in relationship to Beach and Bangla?I stayed at the summer breeze recently and have stayed there 3 times.

Although the summer breeze seems to have it's hardcore supporters, reality is that the hotel is a little shabby around the edges.

The staff are really no better or worse than many other hotels in soi sansabai.

The pool that the hotel was using has closed and the staff did not seem to make a reasonable suggestion as to a replacement.

Even though there is no pool now, the prices have not changed to indicate this.

I stay at the summer breeze or the yorkshire inn for their location. Only a couple of minutes stroll to Bangla and about 5 to 10 minutes to Patong Beach.

How is location in relationship to Beach and Bangla?Stayed there last fall and at the time with the lower rate it was ok. Staff was great and friendly. Room was always clean. Had a Summer Suite.

Was in Phuket again in February/March and did not stay. I thought the prices were way to high at that time. There are other places that will offer more for the money.

Thanks in advance.

Ricos is towards the end of soi Bangla, the road is kinda oppersite the indoor Market. As you go from Rockhard to the beach it's the first road on the left. 800 a night, large good rooms, no joiner fee or hassels. The best thing I've found in Patong.

For people thinking Summer Breeze is a five star hotel it isn't. However it is the cleanest, friendliest 2-3 star hotel you will ever find. Not a better staff anywhere, and the pool IS open and Sb supplies free tickets.

I am happy give some better visibility to the place where I am staying, as the lady owner is genuinely worth your business. It is a brand new building with nice furniture and attentions to the details. It is quiet and convenient and enjoys a view on the hills. Currently, the room all included in only Bath 600 that personally I find a great value. You will never be hassled for anything at this hotel, and there are four coumputers always available plus wi-fi.

The address is something like Ratpathanusorn 67/13-14. The best direction I can give is the following:
Driving on beach road, take the first right after Bangla street. At the crossing with the road divisors, continue straight (watch out for cops as this would not be allowed). Take a left at the divided street with a big blue sign "Patong Beach Municipality". Keep going and after passing the fire station on your right, the place is the first building after the road makes a 90 left turn.

If you leaving Phuket airport turn right as you go outside and you will see a hut where you can get a meter taxi to take you to Patong.

It depends on where you stay but the beach is starts at the end of Bangla road.

From what I can remember there are a couple of discos on Bangla road

They don't have transportation but at 150 B. for minibus that is hardly a concern.

Actually, it is not permitted to post personal contact information, but it's OK to post the phone number(s) and email address of a guesthouse or a hotel (provided that it is not spamming nor self-promotion, of course).

Not sure what happened after that.Hey I loved the Holiday Inn. It is guest friendly. All you have to do is give the guard 200 Baht. That's what I did (LOL). Great location just across the street from the beach and a great pool and breakfast! It was just under 200$ day total which is a little much.

Hi,

Any one stay at the Thara Patong Beach Resort lately? Is it GF? Any other suggestions? My budget is $150 and must be walking distance to Bangla.

Reading the posts and some research online, I narrowed it down to the following hotels:

Thara Patong Beach Resort.

K-Hotel.

Andaman Beach Suites (I doubt this is GF)

Patong Beach Hotel.

A. P. K. Resort (This one seems a little far)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,

Just to update you with GF situation of the mentioned hotel.

I'm the sort of guy how likes comforts and can afford them. There was no way I was going to stay in a shit hole just so I can monger. There was chatter about this hotel that you have to pay a joiner fee of 2K.

I thought sod it. And booked. I arrived today.

When the reception mentioned that there would be 2k free I refuded to pay. I said I'm on holiday and there is no way I'm going to pay you to bring a guest in. I said go ask you manager. He came back and said we will need to see I'd card but we will wave the fee.)

I didn't even really cause a fuss so don't let them screw you.

Its a nice hotel, my room is very close to the beach. Only 10 min walk to Bangla road.

Had another stay at the summer breeze recently.

Again, staff, food and service was exceptional.

The only complaint I would have is that the televisions are old cathode boxes, not new flat screens.

The use of bbs pool was limited because of some construction work and I don't know if the pool will continue much longer.

Visited the yorkshire hotel for a meal and a beer. Top hotel to watch sports and good, if a little expensive food. I like the owner of the yorkshire, he knows how to take care of his customers. One thing I don't like about the yorkshire is that they add vat to their goods after the displayed price. So your 80bt beer costs you 84bt when you pay.

Done to ensure the customer leaves a tip from the coins every time.

Had a great 7 days stay in Kata at the Chaba hotel recently. 800 baht per night for excellent clean rooms, nice grounds and pool, free breakfast and internet. Can't recommend it enough, and Kata has excellent choice but is much more relaxed that the madness of Patong nearby. You can always rent a bike and take a run up there in 15 minutes or so. Avoid the Tuk-tuks in Phuket though. They're all bad news, likely to hustle you and just as likely to get their mates to help them beat you up if you complain.

If you stay in Kata or go near there drop by the RickNRoll around the corner from the Chaba for a friendly bar (not girly, just a regular bar) atmosphere and nice folks. And the bike rental place outside Rick's place are super helpful, has the best bikes and excellent tour suggestions if you want to do more than mongering.

The girly bars are all a short walk away on the kata beach road. Most have interesting talent and you can get short time for 1000, and often long time for the same. More on that in a separate post in the regular Phuket forum.

Like Red Hawk I enjoy a nice luxurious hotel every now and then. I just stayed at Impiana for a week, and it has a great location. Directly on the beach, and 5 min walk to Bangla.

However I wouldn't classify it as directly Girl Friendly. I would say they are Girl Tolerant.

1. There is a little poster on the receptionist's desk stating quite clearly that unregistered guests are not encouraged.

2. There is a 2000 Baht joiner fee per night if you do bring in a guest. When checking in, you have to sign a separate form specifically to make sure you understand this.

3. There are guards at all entry point into the hotel (through the restaurant, through the main entrance and the beach-side entrance) , so it is very hard to sneak a girl past them unnoticed.

I had a girl there for four nights, and I went ahead and added her to my reservation as a guest. This resulted in no joiner fee being charged, but you have to be careful: This means she can actually come and go as she likes when you are not there by asking for a key from reception. So if you do this, be careful.

Hello. Planning to visit Phuket on last week of this month. Currently one of my flame is working there and is celebrating her birthday and wants to surprise her. So obviously can't ask her for guidance. She stays somewhere in the Nanai Road and from Google maps, I can make it's quite away from the action center stage Patong.

I'm looking for hotel from where I can be close to both Patong and Nanai road, may be 4 stars or above, Girl friendly, with good restaurant / Bar nearby. Budget is around 3-4K BHT per day.

(Though this is about hotels thread). Is there anyway I can buy some good WiFi connection for iPad, which can be used anywhere in Phuket?

Thanks for Info & well appreciated.)

Hi,

Have a lot of fun and say "grüzi" to the owner.Based on your recommendation, I have a room booked for later this month for 2500 Bhat per night in the Saladee wing. The rates are for peak season so it's reasonable. As confirmed, it is guest-friendly.

I have looked at some of the GF hotels in Patong (near Soi Bangla) , but I still have one question. At other places in Bangkok, while they allow one lady to join you for free, I have had to pay for a second one, even at GF hotesl. Any one have experience with places in Patong that allow 2 ladies to join you for the night without a joiner fee? I am sure many on the forum would be interested in this information.

Hello, Mate. Is this hotel GF?Apeman, I can confirm that this hotel is GF. They recommend that you have the girl show her I'd to the receptionist, but they do not require it. The hotel seems fairly family oriented. When I was there little over a week ago there were several families there, so it is not a typical monger hotel like some of the hotels in Patong.

I recently stayed at BYD Lofts in Patong, http://www.bydlofts.com/.

Some of you will say it is ridiculously expensive, but sometimes it is nice with a bit of luxury. I had a 100 square meter room, or rather apartment, with separate living area with flat screen TV and very modern furniture, fully equipped and very stylish kitchen, balcony with seating for four persons, nice bedroom with writing desk and safe, and a very modern looking bathroom. In low season I think you can find rooms at BYD Lofts for about 3000 baht per night, I paid about 8000 baht per night (ouch) in peak season.

Distance to Bangla Road is 950 meters, which is 10 minutes of reasonably paced walking. Walking distance to the beach is 400 meters. Walking distance to Christin's Massage is 1300 meters. The restaurant in the hotel is overpriced, so I only had breakfast there (180 baht for fried rice. 80 baht for a cup of coffee). There is free Wifi in the reception area. There is also a very small swimming pool and 8 sun beds on the roof, but the nearby Andaman suites will shadow the sun from about 4pm.

The place is girl friendly, which is somewhat unusual for high-end hotels. They will ask for the girl's I'd and keep it overnight, but there is no joiner fee, at least not for now.

Airport transfer is 900 baht for a regular car, and 1200 baht for a Mercedes CLS or S class.

Very expensive Hotel but. IMHO. One of the best beaches in the whole world.

I will be traveling to Phuket at the end of February with a friend and we would like to find some cheap (under 700 baht is possible) accommodations. It sounds like most of you want to go stay in 2-3 star locations but all we really require are our own rooms, decent beds, and maybe hot water. And of course not completely disgusting.

Do any of you know of or have any advice on finding places like this within 10 minutes walking distance of Bangla? It is ok if it is not close to the beach. Really this is just a place to sleep and to take a BG or FL every once and awhile. Really the cheaper the better without degrading all the way down to shithole status (or maybe shithole for you but for me as long as there are no bugs / smells / holes in the walls it should be fine).

Thanks guys and I will be sure to post some reports on hotels and other activities once I get back!

This forum doesn't have much useful info, but there are a few good tips. Hope this helps:

- Marriott Courtyard: definitely no joiner fees, and most of the time (or perhaps all of the time) the staff won't even look at you or require I'd. Downsides are that it's a place that would feel pretty uncomfortable bringing home a girl (or girls) in the daytime, and it's not a short walk to the Bangla scene (200 baht tuk tuk, which should be completely affordable to anyone staying in a Marriott, but it's still a ride rather than a crawl).

- BYD lofts: this is my favorite place in Patong, but it's also not a short walk (maybe a bit closer than the Marriott). Awesome rooms (actually apartments) , nice boutique style, and no hassle with joiners.

- Yorkshire Inn: by far the best location in terms of proximity to the scene, and the price is quite low. Rooms are ok, but clean and safe, and the place has a gym and pretty nice (or even very nice) pool area, and the food is good too. Also since many (or all?) of the rooms are in a different building than the lobby, there is literally zero hassle any time of day or night. Therefore it's probably a good bet for most mid-budget mongers.

Anyone know about the Millennium's policies?

The hotel have new and old wing. I stay in new wing and photos on their website is accurate. Rooms in old wing are not in main building, it is more like little houses with 1 or 2 levels. The rooms are more basic in old wing and only complaint what I hear from people who stay there is that during night have lot of bugs flying around, because whole that old wing is surrounded with nice big garden and trees.

Location is not in the middle of action and you have 10 minutes walk to the beach (north side) and aprox. 20, 25 minutes walk to Bangla.

2 nice pools, great spa. And one of best breakfast I have ever taste, lots of choices from standard options to 3, 4 for Thai dishes (changed daily).

The stuff are great, always on your service, from girls on reception to woman's who clean rooms.

All info and photos on their site is like it is in real.

And they CHARGE for overnight guests 500B! But maybe that is change, better check with them via mail

I will be in Phuket later in the year. I have been looking at the usual girl friendly hotels, Summerbreeze, ExPat, Yorskshire, C&N. Can anybody recommend any hidden gems close to beach and Bangla in Patong.

Thanks!

I'm considering spending a few days at the end of June with my regular PI gf in Phuket rather than in one of our usual PI haunts. Got conflicting reprots about the weather (for the few hours we'll be out of bed.) so can anyone enlighten me as to whether it usually rains a lot then?

Thanks.

PPJune is in the wet season, so it will definitely rain. But you should expect to be able to go to the beach also. This link has a nice simple table with some stats:

http://phuketdelight.com/Phuket_Weather.htm

Also, these guys say it pretty well, this is from http://www.sunrise-divers.com/weather.php

"Every year is different. Some years are wetter, some low seasons are drier, and high season months can be rainy sometimes too. But the weather is normally pretty decent here in Phuket! The weather changes to "wet" sometime between end of April to early June. Normally the summer months are pretty good - certainly more sunny days than rain, but the weather in unpredictable and you can get some wet and windy days. Rain is usually sporadic short showers and can be very localised - rain in Patong beach but not Karon, just a few km away for example.

The "good" weather starts again sometime in October/November and lasts until April/May. The months November - February are a few degrees cooler due to fresh NE winds. March and April can be really hot, with very little wind."

Thanks HD,

Looks like the trip will be postponed by a couple of weeks but can't be helped. My company will certainly make up for any inclement weather.

All the best.

Hello,

I am making my first trip to Phuket in Oct and I will be staying at the Westin Siray Bay. Would someone be kind enough to help me understand what I don't know. If I had to guess, the hotel is not going to be girl friendly. If so, where might I crash for the night not too far away?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I've read the forum. But am still unsure. Are there any high end hotels / resorts that are girl friendly? Better than Yorkshire or Summer breeze.

I can tell the Marriott is for eg. Any others in the THB 3000 price range? Is Blue Ocean gf?

I'm looking for a resort type hotel, mostly with a nice pool (better than BYD?) , and a gym so that I can have a fun time at the place even when not mongering, but then be able to bring a girl back at night.

Any suggestions please would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Out of your 4 posts in your history two refer to hotels and 2 asking girl infos.

Not a single pay back from your busy mongering life.

Don't you think it is necessary to give something before asking?

Thanks.I like BYD Lofts, and it is very GF. However the pool is very small as you indicate. You may want to look into serviced apartments rather than high end hotels. I doubt you will manage to find high end hotels in the THB 3000 price range though.

I have stayed at Kata Gardens (serviced apartments) a couple of times. Great place. Fully GF. Especially the top floors which have private pools. A lot of fun can be had in those private pools. One girl I had with me for a couple of days insisted on having sex in the pool every day. She also liked having sex on the sun loungers by the pool. However the rates usually start at THB5500 in low season. Of course, this is in Kata and not in Patong so it may not be what you are looking for.

Thanks.Thinking about this some more, Salathai Resort might fit the bill. Should be in the THB3000 price range. Good location (less than 5 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to Bangla Road). Girl friendly.

Also, here is a list of GF hotels. As usual, it is always smart to email the hotel before booking. They are very used to this kind of requests and will respond promptly.

FL100,

Glad to help. Earlier this year me and my mates had a bachelor party in phuket and stayed at the holiday-inn. You should be able to find a deal on agoda or asia-travel or asia-rooms. Make sure you book a room for double occupancy. Great resort with nice pool and gym and clean and spacious rooms.

The three or four times I took company back to room they checked I'd for the companion and retained it at the reception. Its more for your safety than anything else.

It is a reasonable 3. 5 star resort close to beach and also walking distance to action and shopping and food and massage parlors too.

Best of luck and I will be there again in mid August. If you are there the same time we should catchup over a beer.

Cheers,

JSS.

They told me that I could bring a guest but it would cost 1500 baht to change the name of the guest.

Other than that the hotel is well situated and makes for a lovely view.

Check out time is before 08:00 hrs. Of the following day. However, we are pleased to waive the joiner fee for you on the booking of minimum 7 nights stay consecutively. The room reservation must be made direct to hotel is required.

Why don't you email them and get an updated policy.

It's not easy to arrange that, when coming directly from the airport to the hotel.By the way, I like your NoCBJ4me. I agree with that.

One thing you can do is set up a meet at the airport, or another location with one of the girls from the dating sites. I have done that a few times prior to checking in if you think it is an issue. I did this at the Millineum. A great hotel but 1500 charge for the girl.

Something else that works is to book for two and when you check in just say,"she is meeting me later." From there you can check in, leave, and find a LT and check her in later.

But all this is really extra work and kind of stupid when you can book many GF hotels.

Here is a link to a site listing some:

Stayed in B-Lay Tong (or B Laytong) in December. Nice hotel a bit of ways away from Patong but not too far, walking or tuktuk.

Impressions. Not Girl friendly 1500 fee (around 50 dollars) except first girl is free of charge. Otherwise real nice hotel big room with balcony and infinity pool. They refill your mini bar every day with beers and soft drinks, nice touch. Brought in a Russian girl one night, no one asked anything. Discrimination of sorts.

I posted about this in reports to reply to someone wanting advice but I'm re-posting here as general advice. I hear all these people asking about girlfriendly hotels. I spent a week in Patong and stayed in an apartment at patong tower. Great unobstructed view of the bay. The owner sent a fine Thai pro p4p to pick me up at the airport who banged later that night (priceyat2000 baht. But cheaper than Colombianas). Then the owner of the Apt (American expat) took me on a tour of the strip (Bangla walking distance) and his American friend pointed out the better Gogo joints.

How's that for girlfriendly?

Thanks in advance!Nap Patong and BYD Lofts are my favorite higher-end hotels in Patong. Nap Patong *can* be joiner friendly, but their policy is weird: If you book for two people but check-in alone, then you will be charged a joiner fee. If you book for one then you are ok. Make sure to email them beforehand. The hotel is nice and modern, pool area is great, breakfast excellent.

Hello All,

I have a lot of experience in BKK, Pattaya, and elsewhere which I am always happy to share.

Now, I'm making my first trip to Phuket and I could use a recommendation for a comfortable, not expensive hotel. I'm thinking of staying in Phuket Town as that looks fairly central to beaches and other areas. Is that a good idea?

There are several hundred hotels listed on Agoda. Sure could use some guidance sorting through all that.

Is that a good idea?Stay in Patong, that is where the nightlife is on Bangla Road. Phuket Town is out of the way unless all you want to do is visit Katherine Massage. If you stay in Patong, you have hundreds of restaurants to choose from and during the day, there is Patong Beach a block or two away plus you can rent a motor bike and visit the excellent (better) beaches north and south like Kamala, Surin and Nai Harn.

Here is a short list of recommended Girl Friendly hotels in Patong in order of expense:

BYD Lofts, Royal Phawadee, and Yorkshire Inn. I stayed at the Royal Phawadee. It is very good. One block from the beach, one block from Bangla, good pool, attractive garden setting, friendly staff and fellow guests. I stayed in the deluxe I br suite. It was very nice and LARGE. There are less expensive rooms available near the pool. BYD is top of the line for Patong and expensive. Yorkshire Inn is very punter friendly and very close to the action and beach. It is at a very attractive price point. A lot of punters stay here. Best to reserve a room in the new building/annex.

Phuket is all right if you ask me. It does not come close to Pattaya as far as nightlife and sheer number of girls are concerned, but there are a couple of great bars like Suzy Wong's where you will meet some real nice and attractive girls. In addition, Suzy puts on some entertaining shows. But Phuket's main advantage over Pattaya is that Phuket has a number of quality beaches and Pattaya has none. There is also some very good off island dive sites worth considering if you are into diving. So all in all Phuket is not a bad place to recreate.

I have considerable experience in this hobby throughout SE Asia, Central America and Colombia, but have never stayed in Patong Beach. I am there mostly for SCUBA, but interested in adult activities when I feel the urge. Hi XXXXX.

Greetings from Holiday inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central.

The Government policy is to have all guest registered at Front Desk which is the base requirement.

We do not charge a joiner fee but keep the liberty to refuse entry at discretion of the hotel.

Joiners will not be allowed on property before 11pm and have to leave before 5am.

Best regards.

Perhaps one tried early and another a bit later in the evening. Suspect they do this since most of the children staying at the hotel are in bed, by 11. If I do stay here, I am going to print this email out to produce at the front desk if I get push-back. But am starting to look toward renting an apartment, anyways. Far better deals and more of the set-up that I am looking for. The only downside with the apartments is they are generally a little further away from the beach. But this could make them a bit quieter for sleep in the end. I was going to say less chaos also, but this is Thailand. Land of Chaos. LOL

Thank goodness that I went to Phuket primarily for diving and not just for the night time action. It does not come close to Pattaya, and ranks right down there with Bali for being overrun by annoying tourists who will only ever come to Asia once.

It is quite extreme for having people trying to suck money out of you, particularly the beer bars and massage places. Come prepared to stand your ground. The Go-Gos at least are similar to Pattaya or Bangkok although there are of course much less of them, and you do need to poke your head into 3 or 4 before you find a good one (Suzy Wong's for example, although poor ratio of customers to hot girls while I was there).

My advice on the massage places, if they are sitting on the street asking you in then they will offer extras, HJ or BJ if the massage area has curtains or FS if a private room or cubicle. The Oil massages are 300, as per the signs they hold outside. If they are looking for 400 then the extras will similarly be inflated. Always quietly ask the price for extras outside before you go in, once inside they will quote absurd prices and try every which way possible to inflate the price on you. A shame because it can be a nice experience otherwise.

No need to go further down the thread. I've been to 75 countries, including several times to BKK and was looking for a little something different but AWAY from the annoying tourists in their shorts & flip-flops. Thanks. You saved me a lot of aggravation.

I have to disagree with much of what Mianbao says. Having been to Phuket over a dozen times over the last 3 years (yes. 3 to 5 visits per year) my experiences are quite different.

Surely there have been some discussions on price, but this can easily be done in a fun, friendly and courteous way, resulting in everyone being satisfied. It all depends on your attitude. If you act like a fool be prepared to be treated as one.

A shame because it can be a nice experience otherwise.I have never seen the need to negotiate the price of extras before going in. I prefer to find a nice masseuse, start the massage and get a feel for chemistry, and then discuss extras. Regardless of whether the place charges 250, 300 or 400 for an oil massage, the pricing for extras will usually start with the familiar 500/1000/1500 structure or something close to that. Some chicks ask for more, some chicks are worth more. Sometimes you can bargain for a lower fee, just like everywhere else. Also, FS is typically offered even if the massage parlor only has curtains. You absolutely don't have to look for a place with private rooms.

I have really enjoyed my trips to Phuket. Quick story from my most recent trip to Phuket: While in Kata Beach, I went for a mid-day massage to get a break from the heat. The massage girl was slim, firm, gorgeous body, late twenties, and we had a great time in the room. I decided to ask her for long time which she gladly accepted. I picked her up at night, we went for dinner, had great sex in my hotel. The next day we went to the beach. As we were playing like kids in the clear waters, she surprised me by starting to tease me in the water. She pulled off my swimming trunks and starting massaging my cock. After a while she wrapped her legs around my waist, still under water, pulled her bikini to the side and lowered herself onto me slowly. She actually fucked me in the water maybe 10 meters from other beach tourists. I will admit that fucking in the water is not without problems, but this memory will be with me for a long time.

Mianbao says: "Come prepared to stand your ground". I say: "Come with an open mind, common sense, smile and be prepared to have a lot of fun".

Q. Can I invite a guest / friend to stay in my room?

A. Our hotels do not allow a non-registered guest to stay overnight for security reasons. Should you desire to invite another guest, please contact the Front Office Staff and proceed to register the guest. A joiner fee will also be charged, even when you have already reserved and paid for a twin or triple room.

So it looks like you can bring a guest, but you have to pay a joiner fee. You should email the hotel and ask for clarification on this policy. This type of policy is not uncommon in high-end hotels and resorts, I stayed at the Impiana in Patong two years ago and they had the same policy: 2000 baht joiner fee. I suffered this the first night, but then as I had found a chick I wanted to spend two days with I simply registered her as a guest and not a joiner (I had a room for two persons) , saving the joiner fee.

Hello members,

I just finished doing extensive research on hotels in Patong, Phuket which were relatively close (2 km or less) to the nightlife of Bangla, and were girl friendly and this is what I found:

Firstly, almost all of the hotels that were upscale (4 star or above) with the exception of other hotels named on this thread such as BYD Lofts and Prince Edouard Apartments, are not guest friendly. The majority of 4 and 5 star hotels charge a guest fee or joiner fee each time you bring in a different girl. Most of the fees run 1000 baht to 1500 baht which is quite expensive for a guest fee. In contrast, in Pattaya, almost all of the hotels are guest friendly and don't charge a fee. So please do not book a 4 or 5 star room without emailing or calling them regarding their guest fee policy or you will be "surprised" when they assess you a fee when you bring back a lady friend. The following websites are useful if you don't want to waste time figuring out which hotels don't charge a guest fee or joiner fee:

4 star options: The Lantern Resort was around $85 USA dollars for a large penthouse size room. It is very clean, modern, and is centrally located to Bangla road and Jungceylon mall. It does not charge a joiner or guest fee. This is what I chose as I normally do 3 1/2 to 5 star options only.

Sorry gents,

For some reason, my computer froze and was unable to finish all of my post earlier today regarding my inquiry and short research into girl friendly hotels in the 3 1/2 to 5 star range.

The websites, some of which may have already been mentioned, which were very useful to find hotel without guest fees are:, guestfriendlyhotel. Com, gfriendlyhotels. Com, bargirlfriendlyhotels. Com, and lady-bars. Com.

In the 3 to 4 star range there were some good choices, and rooms ranged from about 60 to 100 US dollars. Some of the better hotels in this range with no guest fees are:

1) Alfresco Hotel aka al. Fres. Co Phuket Hotel. It is a newer, modern looking hotel with decent rooms, this probably would have been my second choice. Had decent reviews but a little further away from the action.

2) Hemingway's Hotel is more like a nice B&B, has 32 rooms, all about 22 square meters but reasonably priced and had good reviews on Trip Advisor and other sites.

3) The Yorkshire Hotel, as others have mentioned. This is a smaller hotel, unlike The Lanterns or Alfresco which are more true hotels (larger facility, more amenities for guests, more rooms).

4) Aspery Hotel has a lot of different rooms, which is great for guys who go in groups. One can opt for a standard room, and another may go for a suite but you can all stay in the same hotel.

5) Amata Resort had no guest fee, looks good, but for the price I was quoted I was better off in a 4

Star hotel.

On a side note, I contacted the Nap Hotel and they confirmed that their policy regarding "guests" or "joiners" (not registering with you at time of arrival) was to charge a whopping 1, 500 baht. Also, one of the websites above mentioned this too.

Happy hunting,

SB

I spent a few nights at White Patong Hotel last month and found it pretty good. It's only about 100 metres from Bangla Road so right in the action. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom functional and it had a small in-room safe. I don't remember exactly what I paid but remember it being pretty reasonable. They don't charge a joiner fee for the first girl but if you bring back more than one on any night they charge 500 Baht for each additional girl.

Wanted to update this post as I recently got back from Phuket and the Lantern now started charging a joiner fee of 1,500 baht if you change your guest. Since I was there 3 nights this made it very difficult. This is a great hotel, very modern, and nice rooms; however, it is definitely no longer girl friendly. I saw the rooms at the Yorkshire, and they are very mediocre. It looks like an upscale hostel or 2 star quality, very poor hotel.

There are actually a few hotels directly on the beach in central Patong. Of those, I have only stayed at the Impiana (300 m north of Bangla, directly on the beach, no road to cross, they charge a fee for unregistered guests), but Patong Bay Garden Resort which is also directly on the beach and less than 100 m from Bangla might have a different policy. Also there is Flora, next door to Patong Bay Garden Resort, also directly on the beach.

Stayed here some weeks ago. Brand new hotel. Two eight-story buildings. In fact all floors were not yet finished. So. Some construction work / noise was unavoidable until about 6 or 7 pm. Probably done by now though. Nice pool area, decent breakfast. Girl friendly. The reception area is in a separate building, so nobody cares if you bring guests to your room. Rooms are small but very modern, all rooms have a smallish balcony. The guests were mainly russians, and some Chinese.

Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. Thank you to everyone for posting their findings and responses here.

I am planning to visit Phuket with the Mrs. In November this year. We plan to stay at the C N Hotel. Any comments on this hotel from the forum members?

Also, there is a C N Massage attached to the hotel. How is this spa? Can one get at least a HJ from this place? As the mrs will be with me, my time alone will be severely limited and so I have to take what I can get. A good massage with a HJ from the hotel spa seems attractive at this point.

Thank you again.

Thank you again.Stayed there several times, and I like. Mostly for the location just minutes away from Soi Bangla and the beach. But I won't ask for any extra services at their spa, better to walk to Bangla and as there, they will probably help You out. There is a massage place just opposite the hotel entrance, don't ask them for a HJ either, they will decline. But they will do an ok regular massage if You need that.

Hey,

Thanks in advance! This was their response to my question a year ago:

"Overnight guest / extra person policy: if your booking made for 1 person and register upon check at the same number, after you bring 1 person more in room, no charge.

However, if your booking made for 2 persons and register upon check in at the same number, after you have extra person in room, there will be additional charged at 1,500 Baht per time per person. ".

Thought I would share the response I received from the Holiday Inn for others to benefit from.

Best regards.I received the same mail yesterday when I put the question about the hotel guest policy.

C & N Hotel in Patong was really good, stayed there in November, initially booked for 3 days (to also avail of the free transfer), ended up staying for 1 week. Staff very friendly, got me the room exactly where I wanted (quiet side). No problem bringing a girl whatsoever, in fact, it appears that 90% of people staying there are doing exactly that. Lots of "couples" on breakfasts.

Overall, not expensive, very clean and friendly place. Close to Bangla as well, literally 2 minutes walk. Get the room on the quiet side, 4th floor (odd room numbers).

Hi guys,

I have RTFF and know that Christian Massage and Soi Kepsap are the best places in Patong to find oily's with 'extras', what I would like to know is where I can find young 18-19 year old massage girls to play around with while I am in Patong. I will be with my wife and child but will have a lot of downtime to get naughty, but I would like it with some young ripe tail. Also, haven't seen too much on Khao Lak. What's the scene like there, I will be there for 8 days also.

Thanks!

Thanks!Christin Massage is a rip off, avoid that, you'll find better quality and quantity around that place. I'm not sure if you get the ripe ones easily, most of the massage girls I've seen are around 25+.

If enter Soi bangla from Jungceylon Mall Side-walk all the way to the end of the road towards the beach and take right towards kamala beach-walk for about 5 minutes and you see Safari beach hotel on your right-just ahead a 2 min walk, you'll see girls in white and blue on your right.

Check for K (kay), she is a blonde thai chic with amazing rack and body! The best I've seen till date!

Njoy your stay!

Not sure if this belongs to the "other Areas" thread, but since KL is only a few hours drive away, I'll ask here.

Does anyone know any GF hotels in KL? Last time I visited I didn't find any gals worth taking home with me and I only had one night over there. This time I have two nights and want to make sure play both nights.

I had serious doubts about that place being GF due to a prominent notice against pr0stituti0n in the hotel room -- I cant recall the name or locate the booking email in my inbox unfortunately.

Thanks.

Reporting back on a couple of hotels in Patong.

See&and. Ah the good ol see&and, same same as last year. Nice rooms, hard beds, good shower, and very very guest friendly. Full of mongers and location very close to Bangla whilst still quite (note. Ask for the room on the quiet, "odd" side). The thai food restaurant just opposite the entrance is actually the best I found in whole of Patong (and one of the cheapest too).

Coconut Village Resort. As I wanted a bit more relaxed atmosphere, for the second part of the trip I booked the Coconut Village Resort, which also had a good rate on Agoda about 2 K baht for deluxe room with breakfast.

I actually really liked the hotel. Its further away from Bangla sure, a good 20 min walk, but there is also some action nearby (e. G. Beer bars on the corner of beach road, 5 min walk). The hotel feels a bit like oasis in Patong with nice swimming pool. The room is also huge and has a nice balcony to relax on. It is also guest friendly IF you book a room for 2 people and check in alone, then no joiner fee (girl has to leave ID which is good). Basically don't go over the room capacity and there will be no fee. Overall I really enjoyed the hotel, it was quite empty too which was nice, though right next door to me was I think some hardcore monger who was bringing a new girl every night. One of them I think he "did" outside of the room too judging by the sounds outside of the room, I didn't disrupt (neither did I join).

This time around tried Bangkok Residency on Soi Sansabai, pretty decent and GF hotel. No joiner fees only ID card required. Decent room size, bed size and clean toilet.

Try to get a room towards Lantern Resort and avoid rooms facing the road, they'll be pretty noisy. 5 min walk to Soi Bangla, 10 Min walk to the beach. 2 min walk to 7-11, restaurants etc.

We booked room through hotels.com for 1200 THB which was worth, during peak season.

Long story short. Booked an apartment on airbnb, now as I am there for 3 weeks I really wanted somewhere to cook and this ticked all the boxes. Now I am due to travel in about 12 days and the apartment owner has not responded to my messages about the final arrangements. Messaged her about 2 weeks ago. So last weekend I call her and she says sorry super busy everything is fine will respond soon. Now I am starting to panic because I like to have everything sorted in advance and Patong seems to be booked solid unless you want to pay 2,000 a week. Fellow mongers would you be panicking now or just let her take her sweet time in getting back to you.

Just in case does anybody know any private apartments to rent in Patong within about 30 min walk from Bangla that will not cost the earth. I have been on all of the usual sites, airbnb flip key, holiday rentals and booking.com etc,.

Reviewing hotel from my December stay. Used Booking.com to book stay. I found that all but one hotel in Thailand charged the full amount to the credit card sometime before first day.

The hotel itself was pretty good. It's on a very quiet street a short walk from Bangla as well as the beach. As such, there's supposedly construction going on that street and the hotel warns you about it as well, but I didn't hear a peep. I thought the room looked nice. It had the shower and the toilet separated, which is the first time I saw that. I was going all over Thailand, so that was not something in other Thai hotels. I thought they could put out some more towels. The one thing I didn't like was that the air conditioning was turned on by placing this block of metal into a sensor. I think it had a small magnet in it. I tried as much I could to defeat it, even buying some cheap touristy magnets, but it was all in vain. (Some other hotels use their key card. And sometimes you can insert any old card in there).

It's supposedly peak period, but you couldn't tell that by looking at the hotel. Maybe noise was scaring people off? Anyway, made for a quiet refuge. Internet worked great. Probably also because it's not as cheap as other places. Also, there are families staying.

The hotel staff seemed nice. If you bring a guest, they didn't seem to care. I usually told the girl to leave her ID and they would take it. They don't call and confirm when the guest is leaving. No joiner fees.

I didn't have a booking with breakfast included, so I have no idea what that was like. I'd typically walk over to Cafe Siam in the mornings. That cafe is part of a guesthouse run by an Ausie lady, and is on the way to Bangla. It fit my needs for a morning English breakfast.

Will be spending the first 4 days of my 10 day vacation in Phuket. I have narrowed my hotel list down to these 4.

-Safari Beach Hotel.

-The Royal Paradise Hotel and Spa.

-The Royal Palm Beachfront.

-The Royal Phawadee.

Does anyone have any experience with these hotels? They are all guest friendly. I suppose my main question is if I am looking in the right area or not? Is the location of these in the heart of the action?

I stayed one week in Patong Tower.

http://patong-tower.com/Apartments

Rented an appartment with 2 bedrooms (I was with my buddy) with sea view.

I really wonder how come these appartments are never mentionned in this forum. They are really a gem!

They are ideally located: 3 mn walk from beach and from Bangla Rd.

Plenty of small good restaurants at the foot of the tower, with all day breakfast.

Cleaning service + towels (and beach towels) and blankets provided and changed every day for 500 THB / day.

Wifi OK.

Reception 24/24 with nice and helpfull staff. They don't care about who you bring and they don't keep their ID. Some will take this as a pro, others for a con.

As you are in a tower (select a high floor), it is super quiet, and the sea view is a must!

For french-speaking people, Gregoire can help you. Ask for him at the reception.

Highly recommended!

Did you have to pay a guest fee? 1500 Bhat is a lot.Of course not. It's not a hotel. It's appartments rental, like airbnb. I never specified 1500 THB. ? 500 THB // day for cleaning service.

You can see the room selection and prices on the website. Some are cheap, some are expensive, depending of the floor, view and surface.

Have stayed at Patong Tower several times. I agree, best place in Patong!

Near to everything and just 3 minutes walk to Bangla Road which also makes it easier when you want to bring a girl for short time. No need for a tuk tuk or taxi. You can even see the Tower from parts of Bangla Road which makes it easy to explain to the girls that you are staying very near.

The beach is at only 2-3 minutes of walk.

I booked through this site: http://www.apartmentpatong.com/.

High speed, very fast WiFi.

Very friendly staff, no problems to bring girls and David, the owner of the apartments, is a super nice guy, helpful with everything and can give you good advices about island tours, sightseeing etc. Highly recommended!

Anyone has some experience of a nice beach villa with pool not far from Patong. Can be 2 bedroom or 3 bedrooms with good WiFi and neat and clean place with good security.

Can be a hotel which has villas on a side on the beach or some nice hotel which has suite rooms which open up on a beach, the dream of fucking a girl on the beach is immense and it will be passionate sex with your WG.

I want to take the next holiday in Phuket for which I only need a good and fast WiFi connection as my work I can work from anywhere.

Maybe you can ask a tour operator to drop you on a unhabitated island, where you can play Tarzan & Jane.

Gents,

I can highly recommend the summer breeze near Bangla Road if you are planning a stay in Patong. It is located in Soi Saen Sabai which is an extension of Bangla Rd (the end away from the beach) - you are literally 2 minutes walk from the start of Bangla Rd. The standard rooms are good value (890 TBH in the low season. I stayed here in June for a few nights and just walked in and got an "off the street" special price of 700 TBH per night). Unlike a lot of other hotels in the area there is no extra charge for bringing a girl back and there are no restrictions on how long a girl can stay. I brought one back about 4 am this morning and she left at midday. One night I brought 2 girls back at different times, no questions asked.

The hotel has a nice little restaurant and bar and very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and have all the necessities (comfortable king sized beds, air con, fans. Hot shower, safe, fast WiFi). An added bonus is the Bangla Rd working girls park their scooters out the front from 6 pm onwards which makes for interesting viewing while sipping a beer.

The place probably gets booked out in high season so you will probably want to book ahead. The prices increase by 50% in high season (March, April, Nov) and double in peak season (Dec-Feb). In my opinion Low season (May-Oct) is a good time to visit Phuket if your main aim is getting laid as prices for everything are much cheaper and the bars and working girls are less busy (bargains to be had! The downside is this is the rainy season so not so great for hitting the beaches.

Mr G,

I can highly recommend RR Mar and confirm it is guest friendly. No charge, just have to sign in a guest. Great hotel, firm comfortable bed, excellent pool, short walk to Bangla but off the main stretch in a quieter area, Only gripes would be ability to hear next door sometimes and water from the shower ending up all over the bathroom floor, but that's manageable.

Overall was really good value and I would stay again.

Last time stayed at Amata resort. Booked via agoda for around 1200 bht. Like the hotel because of the swimming pools, decent rooms with not that much noise from outside but only 10 minutes walk to Bangla road and beach. Hotel is guest friendly and surrounded by massage parlours and opposite Christine's massage.Stayed here recently. Remains guest friendly. First lady is free. Second is 500 baht.

Do take care when booking. Some do not have external windows. That really messes with my body clock.

Hi guys,

From the posts it looks like some of the best value guest friendly hotels R amata, R Mar. And Summer Breeze. I'm just wondering are these all close to the bar action or on the other side of the island far away? I looked one up and Google maps said it was on the other side of Soi 6. Just wondering what the best hotel is near the action and what side of the island is best to stay in and bar crawl in?

I just spent three days there. I liked the place but won't stay there if I go back. It's just me, I like a more hotel like setting with a bar and restaurant on site. Someplace to get coffee in the lobby, that sort of stuff. It is reasonably close to Bangla Rd and the main part of the scene there. They have a nice laundry service which came in handy when I arrived from Pattaya with a suitcase mostly full of dirty laundry.

Some friends of mine chose to stay at the LE Meridien Beach Resort in Phuket. I contacted them about their guest policy and this is their reply.

Looks like I'll be getting no real action during this vacation.

"Greetings from LE Meridien Phuket Beach Resort!

According to hotel policy, any temporary visitor who does not register together with guest upon check in but visits or happen to stay day time or night time with the registered guests, they have to left their identity cards with our guest services at the Front Desk. An amount of THB 2,500. -net / person / night will also be charged automatically into client's folio. Visitors have to leave hotel rooms / premises before 7 am. Visitor ID cards will be returned upon their departure. The guests must be held responsible for any misbehavior, loudness, irritating voices, lost, missing items and damages of properties or assets in the hotel rooms which will be charged accordingly. "

I just spent my first of two nights, and Old New Guy's assessment (on the Pattaya Hotels log, in response to my query there) is spot-on, particularly with the usurious transport, which is truly a total fucking racket -- paying the same rate as a major USA City. I hired a girl from one of the lesser-known agogos on Sea Dragon; we walked to the second main road parallel to the beach and I tried to negotiate with the trolleys (or whatever you'd call them, akin to the baht buses). They wanted the same 300 baht to the hotel as a taxi with air-con. The girl seemed irritated with me that I would even bother to negotiate (we got it down to 250, and not before one of the colleague's disease-riddled colleagues suggested that the girl meet him afterworld, the Third World cretin).

There were guards at the hotel, and I feared trouble, but we immediately came upon an employee who offered the courtesy golf cart ride to the room, and reception would have been unaware of her. The downside, of course, is that if a girl caused trouble you would be missing the potential security. One of the lovely Filipina employees (and boy, have they got a couple hot! Hot! Hot! Filipinas on staff) gave me a sideways glance at the breakfast buffet -- "what? Only one guest?" And the property is lovely, if slightly off the beaten path.

Mam where ever I go I do find you don't I.

Well visiting Phuket and bkk in September tickets booked so was looking for a similar experience like you. I came across this property called indochine. We are 4 so family suit (can have 6 people) works for us has amazing views and jacuzzi at the balcony or take a pool villa facing the sea.

As per reports its GF but one cannot go above the normal capacity of room. Only downside is 3 km from Bangla road.

2nd option which I wanted to ask was, is Bliss hotel at patong beach GF. It says it's completely GF but just enquiring, will probably book 2 jacuzzi suits there, if not indochine. This is also about 1 km away from Bangla but 15 m from patong beach.

Taking your advice will be booking davis hotel in bkk but ambassador suit which has 2 bedrooms and in-room concrete jacuzzi. No idea how this is or how GF that is please advice there as well.

Usually book Mac boutique in bkk Bec it's back entrance leads to soi 11 best place for clubing in bkk.

If you have any suggestions let me know will buzz you tomorrow.

Do any of the good hotels in Phuket have spas where therapists give extras (May be not FS but at least HJ)? On my trio to some other countries in SE Asia like Indonesia and Vietnam, I had therapists in 5 star hotels offering such services. It's a different feeling to get such offerings in 5 star as the ladies are slightly more upclass if not more beautiful than options available outside.

I recently stayed at the Bliss South Beach Hotel. It is girl friendly and no fee applied. Your girl will give her ID to the security guard at the entrance. He will keep it until the girl checks out. There's a lot of staff in the lobby including very professional female employees at the front desk so it is a little unsettling to walk by them with your girl.

I really like this hotel. It is about 10 minutes from Bangla Road and is located right across the street from Patong Beach.

Have double booked these for my dates. They are located at either end of the bay, maybe a bit of a climb if walking back to the latter. I like fact that they're likely much quieter than anything in centre near Bangla Road. Very light sleeper so can't be doing with not being able to sleep due to clubs playing music to 5 am The latter is quite a bit more (€278 vs €180 for Bliss) for a sea view room. Latter has a free hourly shuttle to centre but not to very late. Just 10 pm I understand. Both seem to require a security deposit of 2 K be upon check in, which ain't a problem.

I was initially interested in others, more central, such as Yorkshire Hotel and Acca but both advise of refurbishment work which finishes just before I arrive but I'm not going to rely on it being finished in time.

Here's my 2 cents. Been to Phuket many many times, I also like luxury and quiet. I would say that Indochine, while probably a lovely hotel is a taxi ride from Patong Central so you may as well be towards Kamala in a nice villa for that sort of money. Bliss hasn't even been on my radar but a quick look says it's probably trading off being on the beach for the price. Looks basic for that sort of money.

My advice. Get a decent room at the back side (think they call it Garden side) of the Indigo. It's Intercontinental's boutique brand so you're getting excellent service, it's guest friendly and more importantly it's brand new (Feb 2019) and close to the action. (10 min walk / 2 min moped taxi to Bangla). I cannot rate it highly enough. Good F&be outlets too. That's my go to hotel in Patong. It's MUCH better than the photos suggest, is basically a 5 star luxury boutique hotel. Black out curtains, efficient AC, minibar, good bathrooms, quiet.

Or try the Movenpick Myth, another brand new 5 star offering close to the action.

Have double booked these for my dates. They are located at either end of the bay, maybe a bit of a climb if walking back to the latter. I like fact that they're likely much quieter than anything in centre near Bangla Road. Very light sleeper so can't be doing with not being able to sleep due to clubs playing music to 5 am The latter is quite a bit more (278 vs 180 for Bliss) for a sea view room. Latter has a free hourly shuttle to centre but not to very late. Just 10 pm I understand. Both seem to require a security deposit of 2 K be upon check in, which ain't a problem.

Indigo comes in about same as Indochine, if paying up front, and willing to accept a 'neighborhood view' (street view) room. Paying up front for indochine I could get approx 20€ p. And. Less than having the free cancellation option. Movenpick very nice indeed but similar situation as with Indigo re pricing. I could go for the Classic King room and pay up front.

Before cancelling one or the other bookings I have, I'll throw this out too: I just got a message from Bliss advising they don't separate smoking and non-smoking rooms, the latter being my preference. They said they'd do a treatment of a smoking room before my stay. Wonder how effective this can be.

Also, for the street-facing rooms at Indigo. As these give onto the main road just wondering how quiet the rooms can be: are the windows sound insulating enough? I assume you have stayed only in the garden-facing rooms, DavidRim?

I can highly recommend Indigo having stayed there. Can't give any first hand accounts of others, but you will spend 300 THB approx each way every time you want to get into Patong from Indochine I think. Assume they will have a free shuttle but you're bound by those fixed times. It's something else to take into account when pricing these up.

Indigo is good, but as stated, its a long walk to Bangla and will require a taxi to bring a girl back. If walking distance is not a concern, I recommend the Avista Hideaway, MGallery Hotel by Sofitel which is nicer than Indigo or Indochine and in the same price range or lower depending on the season. I have stayed at the Avista Hideaway in low season for $60/night. When I stay at the Avista I always rent a motorcycle or car from a reputable agency. That way there is no problem getting to and from the bars and in the daytime I can visit all the beaches. Phuket has some very pretty beaches. Don't just hang out on Patong Beach.

If walking distance to and from Bangla is paramount, I recommend BYD Lofts in the same or slightly higher price point or the Royal Phawadee Village which is a block away from the action, a block from the beach and is in a lower price point, but still nice. Have fun!

Indigo is walking distance to Bangla, just. 12-15 minutes walk or a 5 min drive by tuk tuk / motorbike taxi. Avista is def not walking distance! Personally didn't rate Avista when I stayed there, it seemed a bit tired. I preferred Indigo but each to their own.

Highly recommend hiring a car. I can't stand Patong for more than a couple of nights, it really is worth getting out and about around Phuket. Some incredible places to see.

Motel like room configuration on two levels facing the pool and reception / bar area.

Nice pool. Girl-friendly. Three women came to room without leaving ID.

3 minutes to Bangla Rd.

Plenty of convenience stores around. Coffee club coffee shop opposite.

Breakfasts OK. Ordered from waitress, no buffet.

Room OK. Nice large walk in shower. Huge, room-long mirror above sink.

Good lighting combinations.

Brothers,

Hotel is another great place. It's located at the heart of all the action on Bangla road. It's a absolutely girl friendly and the prices are pretty reasonable. I stayed there on multiple visits and every time had numerous girls visiting. The rooms are quiet clean too.

Do you have any info about Best Western Patong Beach or Ruen Buathong Boutique Hotel, is there any joiner fee or you just enter with the girl and enjoy your time?
