PROSTITUTES are to be targeted by text messages in a bid to keep them safe.

The closure of Aberdeen's long-established tolerance zone has meant that sex workers are increasingly being dispersed throughout the city.

Because of the change in the law, which brought in a zero-tolerance approach to prostitution, women are now eschewing their previous harbourside haunts for fear of being arrested.

Now a Scottish Government-funded body which provides health and safety advice for prostitutes in the city has decided to contact sex workers directly by text.

Quay Services feels many women are now too afraid to come and seek advice.

The social work body is currently compiling a database of sex workers' mobile phone numbers from the internet and newspaper ads.

In a radical move they plan to use the numbers to make contact with the women by text message and urge them to make use of their services.

Aberdeen's tolerance zone was scrapped in October despite attracting widespread praise during its six years of operation.

Grampian Police were left with no option after the Prostitution (Public Places) Scotland Act 2007 made it an offence to solicit the services of someone engaged in prostitution and to loiter for that purpose."

They're not tacky (just overpriced) so an accompanied lady would usually be admitted. Might as well phone ahead to check. I have found this site a fantastic source of info in the past. So I thought I'd return the favour with an update on my adopted hometown of aberdeen.

Since the end of the tolerance zone, the street scene around the harbour is completely dead. Driving through at night I see zero working girls in the streets around the St Clements. I hear repeated rumours ladies can be now found in Golden Square, but can't personally confirm this.

To my knowledge, there are no massage parlours or permanent brothels in the city. The police camped outside the two parlours that tried to open until the owners gave up and closed.

A number of agencies have come and gone, but 'divineentertainment' has lasted the course. The girls tend to be girls-next-door, rather than models, but I find their regular girls to be are girls-next-door-who-like-to-fuck. Run by a former escort, I have generally found them reliable and reasonably priced.

The independent scene is fluid, mostly consisting of touring girls coming to Aberdeen for a period to work. There are few independents who permanently live in the city.

So yeah, before seeing the other report, lost about 50 pounds. Since then I have met with two girls off adult work, with a third on the way here now.
