I didn't see a thread for this so I'm starting one. Villa Florencia is one of the flyest places to stay at in BC. It is right across the street from a casa and walking distance to other casas. Everything about this place is 1st rate. It's not on the beach so if you need to be right on the beach, I would check for other options. Also may not be the kinda spot where you want to bring skanks. http://www.villaflorencia.net/

http://www.villaflorencia.net/This place is almost too nice, I remember visiting some people staying here, and I was impressed just by the front door to the hotel wwhich felt like a vault door. This is high end for sure!

It is kind of far out of the way. I made the mistake of misreading the number and color system on some maps of Boca Chica thinking this place was right by the central park, but didn't realize how far away it was. The place is also a dump and I had issues with housekeeping taking my money. I've also had issues with hot water before, but for the first day and half, we had NO WATER, which means nno shower or flushing toilets. They were scooping water from the pool with buckets and leaving it in the rooms.

I personally would use them again.

It is not 5 stars or 4 stars, and is not great but you cannot get any closer to the action. It is right by ground zero which is by the piano bar, the beach is right behind it and everything you need from Western Union, markets restaurants and casas are all within resonable walking distance.

It did not bother me, but I can see how people might have issues with noise. I am a late night guy anyway. The beach behind it is possible the worst area for hustlers and vendors. ALWAYS ASK if there is a charge for the table or make sure of the price of ANYTHING before they bring it to you. I personally avoid this area and walk either a further east or west of this area by Madjera.

I recall paying $40 a night, there is no website and only email address.

Can anybody tell me about the El Candil? How is the condition now? I will be going to he DR in several months and am looking for a decent, chica friendly, hotel to stay at. I stayed in Costa Lunga before but am looking for another place to stay. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any information about hotel Astoria in bocachica? I am wondering if anyone on this board has stayed there and what their experience was like. My concerns are safety, quality of the room etc. Thanks, sailor02

Its not close to the main strip but within a 7 to 10 min walk.
