It's that time of year again. One of the most festive times for party and fun in San Jose. Big parties at the Sportsmen and Del Rey. You want to come but really do not have a place to stay. I am checking with the hotel managers and owner in the gulch area on a daily basis to see what they have available. As of today there are only 17 rooms available in the gulch area, that are chica friendly hotels. If you would like to secure a room, please let me know immediately.

When?

Leave San Jose Saturday Oct. 12th at 10:00 a. M.

Tour destination and schedule of events:

Drive to the city of Tarcoles where we will attend Jose's Crocodile River Tour. We take a 2 hour river tour and see those some famous Tarcoles Crocs like 18 ft. Osama Bin Laden. 17 ft. Blue Eye George Bush, Mischievous Monica Lewinsky, Angry Angelina Jolie, Rowdy Raul Castro and many more of the 3, 000 crocs, that call this river home. You will also see Falcons, Hawks and all kinds of wild life. After the tour we will have a fresh lobster feast at the Cope Tarcoles, where you will enjoy the local flavor that Costa Rica has to offer. This is a well kept secret, nothing fancy but boy is it good. Next we head to Jaco for a quick tour of the city. I will show you what is going on in Jaco, including the new Croc's Hotel & Casino being built, the Monkey Bar, the newly remodeled South Beach Hotel and other points of interest before we pull in to the Cocal for a sunset happy hour. Sit back and relax as the poolside fills up for the Saturday night party, as the D. J / One man jams. At 10:30 pm head back to San Jose and have you tucked in by midnight.

Cost is $99 p. P. No minimum but the maximum is limited to the first 12 people. This includes transportation to a from Jaco, Crocodile tour admission, Lobster lunch and me as your personal guide.

Please RSVP for this trip by sending your request here.

Mongering is an full swing. San Jose is hopping and women are flocking to the beach on the weekends. It appears that a lot of North Americans are going to Jaco now for a few days, if not their entire stay in Costa Rica. The Cocal is hard to get a room but can still be had if you have the right connections. The Monkey Bar is pack at night. Dance the night away at the Le Loft. So many women and so little time. I always say, that if you don't know the country you are visiting, know your tour company and guide. We are experts in the business. Have fun on your stay.

Costa Rica has gone crazy. With it's win against Greece yesterday, Costa Rica will be in the Quarter Finals on Saturday against heavily favored Netherland, the team that was runner up in the 2010 World Cup. This is the 1st time the Tico have ever made it this far in the World Cup. If you happen to be down here on Saturday, (heaven forbid they make it to the semi's or finals), look us up. We will be glad to take you to the hottest bars where the Chica's will be going crazy. Also, we need your positive energy to help the Ticos advance. Everyone likes an underdog so "Let's Go Tico Nation!" Here's a few pics of the local ladies to help get your blood pumping.

This guy sounds like a pimp, what is he doing on this board?Mose,

I am somewhat curious. Did you by chance happen to notice the name of this particular thread. That being the case I would suspect one would reasonably expect you could figure out the "why" answer.

If for some reason, you disagree with the Mod's decision to allow this thread to flourish, I would suggest that you add his name to your ignore list and save yourself the anguish.

He is here because he offers a valued service and members who decide to travel to CR are interested to find what they might expect and enjoy from O. L. the.

The One Lucky Dogg.Dogg,

I have a question on the Mona Lisa $50 room rate? How long is the offer good for? Also, I thought it was chica friendly, but now I'm reading on the other forum they started their own very expensive in house mp. It seems you can't find your favorite gal at another location and bring her here. What do you know?

• I consider Costa Rica to be a very safe place to visit / live as long as you do not advertise your wealth when moving around. Be humble and you will be safe.

• Dress down and do not advertise that you have money.

• Avoid wearing expensive watches and jewelry when in public places.

• Walk with others when walking in the daytime. In San Jose, ask someone if it is safe to walk before heading out.

• Do not walk at night (to be completely safe).

• Do not pull out cash or cell phones when walking in the densely populated areas.

• Keep your passport, valuables, important documents, and jewelry locked in your safe deposit box in your hotel.

• Always make a backup copy of your passport and carry the original or copy with you at all times.

• Do not use laptops / tablets / cell phones in unsecured areas and keep them out of sight when travelling about.

• Be discrete with all valuable items such as cameras and cell phones and never leave them unattended / visible.

• Keep important phone numbers with you so that you can contact someone in the case of an emergency.

• When calling inside and outside of Costa Rica, make sure that you know what you are being charged prior to calling. If you have Skype on your computer, I recommend using this service for International calling.

• I have never been sick from drinking the water or eating the food in Costa Rica, however, some clients do get diarrhea when eating lettuce in salad's.

• Costa Rica has good private hospitals, Cima, Biblica, Catholica. Serious illness or injury, I would use one of these.

• When taking a taxi, get the hotel, restaurant, or bar employee to call the taxi for you and give you the number of the taxi that will be picking you up. The number is located on the side of the door. It's the same as their tag #.

• Only take taxis that are correctly identified write down the taxi # and ask the amount of the fare before entering the taxi. Make sure they run the meter (La Maria) and it is at zero 000 when taking off.

• If renting a car, make sure the attendant notes all dinks and dents on the car prior to you leaving with the car. This will prevent them from trying to charge you for these defects when you return the car.

• Do not drink and drive in Costa Rica. Laws are very strict. If you want to drink, get a designated driver.

• If you are going to be drinking a lot, make sure that someone in the group drinks responsibly to make sure that everyone gets back to home base safely.

• Tip (10%) and Tax (13%) is almost always included in your restaurant bill and bar bill. Be careful not to double tip. And extra 5-10% is ok with good service.

• The culture is different than ours, so enjoy the differences. Pura Vida!

• The more you fight with the locals, the less they will respond.

• Enjoy your trip and the natural beauty of Costa Rica.

I have been kicking this idea around for quite sometime. I am an avid fisherman and go whenever I can but a lot of you can't go because of the cost of chartering a boat. Unlike in the USA, there are no head boats (its where you pay by the head and not by boat) in see. Are. If you would like to go fishing, let us know. I will pair you with other anglers to save you money. You can still go fishing, enjoy the day on the beautiful waters here, and not break the bank. Price start at just $150. We have over 20 boats in our network, so we have something for just about any budget. Boat sizes range from a 32' Mako to 55' Hatteras. October and November is still a good time to catch Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and a few Yellowfin Tuna. All included in our fishing excursions are: are. T. Transfer from San Jose metro & Jaco areas, bait, tackle, snacks, soda, water beer and lunch. You might even get some sashimi like we had yesterday. Send me a pm and we will get you on the water in no time.

Sincerely,

I guess Delta is the 1st on board, cutting fares. I don't know if it is because of the lower fuel cost or not. I understand airlines buys futures on barrells. Anyway, check this out on Delta.com.

Charlotte to SJO was around $800 now $316 RT.

Miami $500 now $322 RT.

Phoenix $600 now $322 RT.

Dallas $700 now $317 RT.

For those who are coming down for Super Bowl (one of the busiest times of the year for mongerers) I know you can't wait. Fun time to be had by all. For those who had rooms booked at Scores, well it's closed and you will need to find other lodging. Sorry about the bad new. Let me know if I can assist in helping anyone. Don't forget the Horse parades going on and the festival in Palmares. A must see!

Sid.

I had one of my clients who has had to reschedule his trip to Costa Rica for a month, so his room at the Cocal is available this Friday and Saturday night 4/10 & 4/11. I hate to cancel the reservation because I know how hard it is to get a room there on the weekend. It's a parking lot room (I think it's the best value) $275.16 total, taxes included. O. L. The. VIP members get a $37.17 discount for a total of $237.99. Pm Me if interested, let me know ASAP. I will cancel the reservation on Tuesday if nobody wants the room. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Sid.

One of our most requested things to do while in San Jose is taking an ATV tour and going to Jaco. Well One Lucky Dogg hears you. We have decided combine the 2 and put together another great tour. We will pick you up from you San Jose Hotel between 6:00 6:30 am, where you will travel to the beach town of Jaco. Upon arriving at Jaco, we will get the day started off right with a good breakfast at Dan's (good ole boy from Massachusetts) Sunrise Breakfast place, where you can enjoy all the local dishes as well as America breakfast, fresh fruit platters, smoothies and a bottomless cup of coffee.

8:45 we start the ATV 3 hour tour. Once your party leaves Jaco on the ATV you will travel up the mountains for a spectacular mirador view of the City, the Nicoya Peninsula, as far down as Manuel Antonio and as far north as the port of Caldera.

We will continue up to the mountain tops, where we will stop at the second waterfall on the tour, Ranch La Paz. If you are a daredevil, jump off the 15 ft. Cliff into the cooling crisp pool and take a swim.

Next it's back on the trail where we will come to the edge of the Carara National park, where there is no telling what wildlife you might see. We will work out way back to Jaco and should arrive around 12 noon. Shower facilities are at the ATV center and a change of clothes is strongly encouraged during the green season.

We will now load up where you will have time to stroll the casino. Try your luck at the one of the 150 state of the arts slots. You will feel like you are in Vegas in Croc's Casino. Tour the facilities, have lunch and cool off at one of Croc's 3 restaurants or Ez Zarpe poolside bar and grill. Sure to be a good time at Croc's.

Sincerely,

Sid.

I just posted my first trip report to SJ. I was there a little over a week ago. As a newbie I decided to use One Lucky Dogg for a ride in from the airport and a ride back. Thanks Sid for helping make a great trip smoother. I appreciate the timely responses and punctual service.

Thanks again,
