Rotonda Santo Domingo is about 1 mile east of the Metrocentro Mall. Very close to Hotel Cristo Rey. It is a roundabout with a giant Christ statue with open arms.

If she's your wife or girlfriend and you get a double room and check in together sure. They will smell a streetwalker or casa girl from a mile away. I am not sure you'd even get past the doorman. I am really surprised they'd tolderate that for Guatemala as well.

I was there in December 2010 I came in at 3 am with 2 chicas. It is a great hotel but I have paid $119 on a weekend for a double room on the executive floor so a $100 fee is excessive on top of any rate they charge.

There are many hotels in Managua that are clean, friendly, safe and in the $50-$80 range that makes this surcharge even more ridiculous I would not recommend any member to try this as I am not sure you will succeed every time, and the girls will not be impressed by the hotel (they are impressed with hot water).

I will be going to Managua for the first time next month, although I have been to Central America a number of times. I was wondering if any old hands can tell me if there are any "gold standard" strip clubs in Managua that one should not miss. For example, I would probably have never known about "Lips" in San Salvador without this board, and that would be a real shame. I think it's one of the best damn strip clubs in the world! - Good prices; gringo prices are OK, Japanese business man clip joints are not. Cover is OK, as is $5ish beer and $20 lap dances max.

- on premise service is great, but optional. I think I've got that part figured out by reading the forums here.

-Full nude is a big plus.

Basically, looking for good bars, which happen to have a bunch of hot naked women around. For the two clubs I mentioned above, I've been to a bunch of shitty ones in those cities that were a waste of time.

Last night visited Diamonds. Very nice club. Chicas are a step up from Good Times but not significantly. Price is $176 ofr one hour.

Chatted with a mulatta named Ruby. She had a pretty face but was slightly overweight. Spoke decent English. Commutes daily from Masaya. No Cell phone. Stated she would come to my hotel at $80 per hour. Countered with $80 for 2 to 3 hours. Seemed to agree. Provided my hotel info. Promised to visit after 500 am. Shame on shamester for being willing to pay C$1, 800 cordobas in a C$500 world and for a fattie. There is no girl in the business in the entire country without a cell phone. I doubt there is a girl over 16 in the whole country without one frankly.

No show saved you paying a ridiculous amount for someone who knows full well she doesn't earn that.

And as pointed out many times before Diamonds, Elite, Solid Gold are clip joints for Asian tourists and expense account types. US$176 is nearly C$4000 plus no doubt the admission fee and drinks at 5-10X the proper price.

Guys don't be rubes and go to these places. Think of Fenix, OK a shithole too, but for C$4000 you could go in there and get a room and have 12 girls AT ONCE and get C$400 change back.

Myself and a buddy did a quick weekend in MGA. Having been to 7 other Latin American countries I thought I knew what to expect, but the poverty and lack of infrastructure of MGA definitely exceeds the poverty and conditions of the other Latin America capitals that I have been too. Not too much to see in the city proper, but we did check out the nightlife, music and chica scene. I found that Nicas are generally very friendly people who are very proud of the their country and culture. We hit Good Times and Caribbean Morena and we enjoyed both spots. My buddy had an extended take out from GT and I did an in house session in Caribbean. Paid 600 Córdabas total for an hour session with a pretty Afro-Nica that turned into nearly 3 hours of uninterrupted intense GFE + an excellent massage. Best $27 I've ever spent. We also went to Fenix and the descriptions on the board don't even come close to describing it. It looks like the owner took over a 1/2 bombed out / partially demolished warehouse and put in a small bar area. The chicas were unfuckable and the building looked like it could collapse at any moment. We didn't even stay to finish a beer. The cabbie looked at me like I was crazy when I told him to take us there. The 1st words out of his mouth when we walked out were "Le lo dije". All I could say was "Claramente. Tienes razon". We all broke out laughing.

I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of chicas. While they are not Colombianita or Brasilera fine, but I saw tons of very attractive women in bars, restaurants and just on the street. All in all, we enjoyed the trip, but I'll only return to Nicaragua if I have more time to explore Masaya, Granada, and the eco-tourism areas. MGA just doesn't offer enough to be a target destination by itself and I need more than chicas to get me to add a spot to my travel rotation.

i met up with a friend in costa rica last friday. we ended up staying at dunn inn which is a very nice 2 to 3 star hotel. guy is the manager there from california. he is cool and very helpful. we went out mongering that same night and to my dismay found the chicas very expensive (80-100 usd) for one pop. i was like wtf. what did we do? i am not a cheap skate nor a sucker. hell, i go to mexico every weekend and spend 10usd for 20 minutes. i am not going to spend 80-100 for 1 bust or up to 1hr. i don't know. i'm old school. i go for the deals!

so, we quickly hopped on a bus for nicaragua. alas, heaven, i have read the blogs about hotel cristo rey. um, frankly, that place is a dump and quickly asked the taxi where to go. you can read about the hotel thingy else where. so, after, i dropped off my bags at another hotel. i asked my taxi driver to take us to a mp. we went by claudia's. this place was closed (sigh). the taxi driver took us to another mp (i can not remember the name of the place to save my life). we found 6 girls there (we went there around 230pm). the girls were around 4-5, but 2 of them were 7s. cordobas is the national currency. the exchanged rate is 1 usd to 22 cordobas. they charged c300 for 30 minutes. so i had a 1hr session there. they provided the condoms, gfe, shower, towels and cable tv. i thought the sheets on the bed looked used. i did not notice the old cum stains on the bed until after the session."shrugged my shoulders" they did have a bar for what it is worth.

after the mp, we got something to eat. i found that 50% of the nicaraguan women are on the heavy side. but, i did see a lot of creole mix women that were pretty damn hot. only thing you have to do is make eye contact and you are in! and, oh, speak a little spanish. but, surprisingly a lot of people speak english. the local restaurants and malls are the best places to meet non pros. i am not sure why guys come on here asking about non pros. we can get non pros at home. nsa is the best policy!

so, first, we went to 27th de mayo. this place was closed. we ended up going to good times. good times is an all inclusive strip bar / brothel to say the least. i am black and my friend is chinese american. i never understood why we have to fall under the "gringo tax". the rules should not apply to us (lol). i found myself paying a little out of range for drinks. i saw about 16 to 20 girls ranging from fat to skinny from deep spanish to asian looking. but, strange enough, i did not see any creole women. the average of the girls were about a 7. they all spoke spanish. their rates was c300 for 13 minutes (gringo tax in full effect). i managed to talk down one girl to c500 for 30 minutes. i said wait. lets hit the streets.

You will end up wanting to go so many places so my advice is stay at contempo for 60 a night which is a 4 star place and use the savings on there 7 dollar exclusive shuttle to venture out in at night, contempo is high luxury and close to the best mall, santo domingo gallerias. Any idea how well the public transportation system operates and until what time is stops running? Any chance of hitting chica locations via public transport?

You seem to know a lot about the layout of the city. Can you recommend an area to stay that one is close enough to venture out "on foot" and find a mall shopping / lively area instead of feeling trapped by needing a car? Again I am considering safety and distance to be two entirely different issues.

Actually, Managua has the lowest crime rate of all the capitals in Central America. I have lived there for several years, and worked in Managua for 15 years. I have never been robbed, nor ever had any problems. However. Just simply do not walk places at night. Managua is spread out. Granted MetroCentro is "kind of" a downtown, but really it is not. From the InterContinental it is safe to walk to Diamond Club (see its website) , however, walking anywhere else is just tempting fate. Taxis are cheap, use them.

Managua is not a crime infested city. It is as safe as any city of 1, 000, 000+ anywhere in the world. It is just a dump! It can be a hell of a lot of fun, and quite an adventure. Just don't walk places.

The street girls between the Esso and the Texaco MetroCentro are perfectly safe. As are the street girls maybe 100 meters south of the Hilton on Carretera Masaya. Just use some common sense with street girls.

Fenix and Good Times are only 5 minutes from MetroCentro by taxi. Diamond Club is across the street. The tiny little casas de citas are in the barrios all over the city. You will never find them unless you ask a cab driver.

I hear you. I end up liking "walking" in other countries because arguing with cab drivers to take you where you actually want to go vs where they want to take you is sometimes a hassle, and I also tend to monger often. So across the street joints usually get quite a bit of my business by sheer proximity. BUT, why risk safety (other then the adrenaline rush)? Private taxis appear to be affordable. The shuttle idea is brilliant.

I hope these stories are exaggerations, it'd be cool to get a REAL picture / description on if you have to be "gangbanger tough" as a monger in order to survive a month of mongering in mga! What a time your going to have! In my home city, there are 4 churches on 9th Ave (aka Martin Luther King Blvd) but I don't suggest you walk around down there at night. All I'm trying to say is, If you ask a question listen to the answers you get. I love Nicaragua! I feel as safe there as in my home. I plan to move there permenantly some day. But until you know Managua and know some people there, don't walk around. You will have a great time and the people are about 90% good and will love you. Nicaragua certainly is not getting better. I left January 4th and haven't been back. In the last 7 years I was in Managua every 5-6 weeks. I went through two relationships, the last ending two days before NY Eve, and I am just tired of the commute. I am back October and have a ticket on TACA for Christmas, and I will see the tone and temperment in October to decide if I am going back in 2011.

The barrios where you can go are decent enough, Fenix is on a arterial road, so is Good Times (which I still think is a waste of time, buy YMMV) and it is next door to Cueto Club , Morena is in a retail area in a good barrio. I don't like the pricing but Bellmarys is in a great barrio in Cd. Jardin, residential, clean, quite nice.

My ex-GF lived in and then near Camilo Ortega. There's no casas etc, there but it is a definite non-gringo area. There I was tolerated and my Man Friday is armed. There are other quite obvious barrios that are very dangerous, example Jorge Dimitrov (the police don't go there) , but again, there is no reason to go.

Going to Fenix every day using different cabs or a trusted driver is not marking you for anything but a regular customer.

How much you take depends on how much you drink. I heaer Fenix is all in under C$500 and a taxi roudn trip unless you are across town is maybe C$50. Leave with C$1000 and you are probably OK. That's US$48.

IMHO the only way to go about exploring a new destination is on foot and using public transportation. If you have to depend on a cabbie to cart you around you might as well go somewhere like Costa rica.This is wrong and dangerous for other than the very experienced. The buses are horrible and useless, just cheap. The last time I was there a knife-wielding robber was taking money as he walked down the aisle while it was moving. Unluckily for him he was shot to death by a passenger 3/4 of the way down. Not an every day occurrence but an indication. Gringos shoudl avoid them at all costs.

As for walking even in daytime it is too big and things are too far apart for this to be practical, vs. Being dangerous. At night it is dangerous. This is a city with cab fares cheaper than Bangkok and that's saying something.

Best thing is find a cabby recommended by a hotel, etc, get his cell and use the same cabby. They will appreciate the regular income and you have a regualr car.

Actually, Managua has the lowest crime rate of all the capitals in Central America. I have lived there for several years, and worked in Managua for 15 years. I have never been robbed, nor ever had any problems. However. Just simply do not walk places at night. Managua is spread out. Granted MetroCentro is "kind of" a downtown, but really it is not. From the InterContinental it is safe to walk to Diamond Club (see its website) , however, walking anywhere else is just tempting fate. Taxis are cheap, use them.

Managua is not a crime infested city. It is as safe as any city of 1, 000, 000+ anywhere in the world. It is just a dump! It can be a hell of a lot of fun, and quite an adventure. Just don't walk places.

The street girls between the Esso and the Texaco MetroCentro are perfectly safe. As are the street girls maybe 100 meters south of the Hilton on Carretera Masaya. Just use some common sense with street girls.

Fenix and Good Times are only 5 minutes from MetroCentro by taxi. Diamond Club is across the street. The tiny little casas de citas are in the barrios all over the city. You will never find them unless you ask a cab driver.Noguera is one of the few people I trust and you can trust what he says.

Do not walk without a gun, simple. And you can't get a gun. If the $2-3 is too much then don't go.

I will agree to disagree on the street girls near Hilton, there are some cute and a lot that are a hassle, thieving arguing, non-performers.

One thing I can say if you don't speak Spanish or have someone with you that does well (and English of course) , think about going elsewhere.

Noguera's point about the casitas is correct. You will never walk, due to the distance alone. The lack of street names and addresses makes finding things a problem. You will need a taxista to call them for directions, other than Fenix, Morena, Good Times and Cueto Club. As far as the commute, it is a killer. That 1am flight back, then another connection, and then a 40 minute car ride home is getting very old.

We have all told these guys that it is just not practical to walk everywhere. It is not like downtown San Jose or downtown Guatemala City. If people choose not to listen, well. That is their choice. Good parts all of Zona Rosa, Metrocentro area, most of Cd. Jardin, a fair bit of Bello Horizonte, Los Robles and Altamira, the area around Plaza Espana, a lot of C. Masaya out to the Hospital, near the old Embassy, Mercado Huembes, etc. Immediate vicinity of the good hotels.

Bad areas abound in areas a gringo unaccompanied would do miserably and would be at risk. And a few boderline areas like Plaza Inter / Crowne Plaza are OK but a block away near the Nica Bus and the Conquistador are pretty risky.

But the spread and the lack of street names and address numbers makes walking pretty silly. Noobs with no idea where anything is will require a taxi as much to find a place as get there anyway. I guess if you stay 1 block away from Fenix and just do Fenix all the time, you can walk but how boring can it get?

I'm back Oct 10-15 or 17 and we'll see what's what. If I line up the three FWB's I may not get out much other than to eat and to go to the bookies.

Just returned from a quick 3 day weekend in Managua. Pretty Interesting place. Went to Diamonds which was really over priced of course thats nothing new. The girls were good looking but not great. They had different shows which were pretty cool. Taxis kept trying to get us to go to ELITE. They obviously get a commision. We didn't go.

After Diamonds went to Good Time. I really like that place. Girls wanted $160 for take out for 4 hours. We waited till closing and had two chicas meet us at the Hilton after work about 430 am. I had no idea that there were two Vale Todo clubs?Cueto Club was open and doing business just a couple of months back in July. Pollo is spot on. Vale Todo (Club Hollywood Girls) is over in Monsenor Lezcano. There are not any universities remotely nearby. What may be referred to as Vale Todo II could be the old Hollywood Club which was located a block off Carretera Masaya. Both Hollywood and Vale Todo (Club Hollywood Girls) were owned by the same guy, Enmer Tercero. See the trend in the naming? The only strip club that I know of which is even remotely "near" a university would be Diamond club. It is only a few blocks from UCA.

I thought I would take one for the forum and give this Hollywood Club Girls place a try. Well, I got there around 10:30 on a Saturday night and voila, the compound was pitch dark. I taxi driver said it was closed. I think it was more than that. Any entertainment business that is not open on a Saturday night is simply not in business, period.

The driver then suggested Solid Gold and he said it was not expensive, so I gave it a try. US$10 cover with 2 free beerss. Only 5 girls but dancing was continuous. Lady drinks are, yikes, US$15 each! Obviously the driver is getting a commission. Out of the 5, there were 2 skinny. 1 medium and 2 fat ones. I sat thru all 5 chicas dances and left. Serves me right for not doing proper research first. Went to Good Time after and had a good time.

They are on the same side, separated by a minor side street. From Metrocentro if you head toward C. Norte on the bypass you get to CC on the right first and then mere metres away on the other side of the side street, is Good Times.

There "were" two. One was in the Hollywood / Solid Gold area. The other in M. Lezcano, changing its name and now apparently closed. No no Vale Todos of any name, anywhere now.

How has Fenix's remodelling come along?I was in there yesterday around 3 pm What an odd place. The last time I was there was many years ago. You went in and it was pitch dark with porno TV above various sofa with lethargic girls.

Yesterday it is a) huge and be) very bright. You enter from the same side door, paying C$50 each BTW, and the bar is dead ahead. This entry area is a communal seating area for girls (10 of them on sofas at 3 pm) and the bar with the TV's to the right mounted quite high. There were only locals in there. 4 in total, me and my driver and the bartender and a doorman.

Up from the bar, to your left as you enter is a HUGE concrete slab with chairs and tables and not much else. It must be over 50 metres long and 1/2 as wide. At the far end is a door which I assume goes to rooms. I will see today.

They told us it is 24/7 with two girls shifts. 7 am to 7 pm and then 7 pm to 7 am.

C$300 1/2 hour, C$600 hour. I did not see the rooms.

It was far less grim and didn't invoke the feelings of dread like the old version, and the girls ranged from 6 and 7 for a couple to a few real hefty dogs. No stunners but no models either.

The girls make no effort to approach or talk and the bar doesn't push drinks. The C$50 you pay to get in covers 2 drinks. We had water I assume it would cover a beer as well. This is to filter out penniless local who want to just ogle and not buy anything I guess. They did not use metal detectors.

A crew of about 3 continued to mix concrete outside. Where it was going or why was unclear.

Full of drunken locals. It has a very small sala and there were maybe 8 local guys. First warning. Then the girls were, to be charitable, homely. One was pregnant. The massage rooms are at the back like before (and I bet as dirty and hot as before) C$300/500 30/60 minutes. We didn't stay.

Dropped in on Gina at Morena in Altamira. I have recommended Morena before for 2 reasons, one it is in a great area (across from CECA music store and just down from SINSA in Altamira) so no mugging risk etc, and close to Metrocentro. And two Gina speaks English and often the girls speak some as they are from Bluefields where English is more common.

They were sure fat this time. I mean fat fat fatties. Some guys like the meaty girls, my driver for one. I don't. There was one sort of chubby but pretty. I didn't partake but may go back.

Prices are C$300/400 30/60 minutes and C$500 for an hour with A / C. Since it was actually hotter inside than outside I'd say go for the C$500 for the air conditioning alone. But if you like the heat and larger girls and 1/2 hour C$300 is only $14 US.

As I don't do nightclubs, did not go into CC or GT. I may try GT just to see how it has changed in several years (maybe 4 or 5 since we were inside).

It is too bad about Club Hollywood Girls Vale Todo 2. They had hot girls and OK prices.

Finally we went to where Glorias was and it isn't Glorias any more. I find this odd as someone a month ago said he went there (and I assume it said Gloria's). Anyway it said Bar Pipo or Tipo or Pepe or something, a big blue and white fence with a truck parked inside. On the other side of the carport there was an entrance. It was a barrio full of chavalos on the street, we weren't sure it was Gloria's or not at that point, we were hungry and left to eat. I am not sure, to be honest if we were in the right spot but we have been there several times before and my driver knows this town down to the fire hydrant so not sure what's going on with it.

In the interest of research we went to Glorias, now "Bar Piro". Same location as advised by more than a few painted wall signs.

It is similar if not close to identical to the old Gloria except there are few girls and most are hounds. A lot of the "decor" using that term loosely still says Gloria's.

You get ignored upon entry other than to serve a drink. There was an older woman and a male bartender either of whom could have gotten off their lazy asses to try to pitch the services, but no, too much effort. (Not that Fenix does much either)

Finally my buddy asked a waitress the score: 1/2 hour C$300 and an hour C$500.

This leads me to the question how did this guy in mid-September (a few posts ago) pay US$100 (C$2,270 at today's rate)?

I visited the Good Time strip club more than a few time this past week. I like it. There were a few fat ladies, but most were adequate. This one girl, Kiera, has big tits, but likes to play hard-to-get. She was surprised when went for another girl the next day. Sorry, but guys like variety. If I wanted to stick to 1 woman, I could have stayed home! Every one of the girls will try to hustle lady drinks from you, but WTF, it's only C$110 / drink = US$5, which is a bargain compared to Solid Gold.

For some reasons, despite of the drink hustling, I find the GT girls very down to earth. My Espano is limited, but many girls still try very hard to communicate. A trip to the back room will cost C$600.

The point was for the many guys here who seem to come with no Spanish, and you do read the occasional tip usually offering even more and worse, quite often, incorrect Spanish pointing how, I guess how they can try to speak. Iif you want a number Of a cell phone which was the point, that word is numero and numbre appears to be an attempt at the word "nombre" which means name.

Asking for a name when you want a number won't get you a number.

Gents, try to get even basic Spanish out of the way for this country. It has been said that 30 verbs, about 500 nouns and a few prepositions (plus numbers and salutations, etc.) will get you by in most situations. That is not a lot to learn.

Went to the room at 1:34 pm and at 1:52 there was a knock and time to wrap up. I did question how a half hour became 18 minutes and they seem to count almost from the point you mention to the bar guy you want a girl. He said it was 1:25. It wasn't.

So a good idea may be to ask until what time you have, and then subtract five minutes to get dressed. But 25 and 18 minutes are not quite the same.

the main clubs in managua are fenix, good time, and cueto. from previous posts, i gather that club cueto is a shithole. fenix is also more or less a shithole too, with generally low quality chicas, though the place may have improved recently and it's possible to find a few diamonds in the rough there. club good times has some mixed reviews, but seems to be a notch above fenix in terms of chica quality. much seems to depend on the day and time that one goes to these clubs, and simple luck. diamond club, elite, and solid gold are rip-off joints to be avoided. hollywood club girls / vale todo seems to have been one of the best overall places, but it is now closed.

a few massage parlors advertise in the classified in el nuevo diario under bellaza. (i have only seen a handful of places advertised in the newspaper recently, with only phone numbers listed). some parlors (or are some of these clubs?) are caribena morena, which houses a variety of overweight chicas; lorena, which is to be avoided; and bellmary's, also to be avoided. there is also formerly gloria's, now sort of going by a new name, which also has gorditas on the menu.

other low-key casas de citas seem to be the best way to go in managua, in terms of low prices and quality chicas. in order to find these casas, it's necessary to find a taxista or other local that knows the locations. it seems from comments on this board that most taxistas will know at least some spots. (disappointingly, my taxista today didn't offer up any suggestions beyond streetwalkers, elite, and a less expensive place on carretera a masaya the name of which he couldn't remember).

The main clubs in Managua are Fenix, Good Time, and Cueto. From previous posts, I gather that Club Cueto is a shithole. Fenix is also more or less a shithole too, with generally low quality chicas, though the place may have improved recently and it's possible to find a few diamonds in the rough there. Club Good Times has some mixed reviews, but seems to be a notch above Fenix in terms of chica quality. Much seems to depend on the day and time that one goes to these clubs, and simple luck. Diamond Club, Elite, and Solid Gold are rip-off joints to be avoided. Hollywood Club Girls / Vale Todo seems to have been one of the best overall places, but it is now closed.

Just as you said, you have been going to Nicaragua for 7 years and I have been spending most of the last 10 years in Argentina, and the rest of South America.

I read most of the posts of this Thread as well as a few other men's clubs posts. I spent 6 hours a day for about three or four days doing this for All of Us.

Well, I for one appreciate the effort to organize the data to make R (ing) TFF a bit easier, but credit is due to the original posters as well. Although I haven't posted much at all, I have definitely beneffited from the info on the forum. I've lived in Nicaragua for a couple years now, but I live in the north and only occasionally get to Managua. I more often frequent the local spots in Estelí and Matagalpa (very hit or miss) but also have had my share of fun in Managua. So this is an attempt to improve the up to date knowledge base.

Fenix is well documented here and I don't have much to add. It's where I go if I'm in a hurry but not the best selection nor environment. Currently 300 gets you a half hour and they are charging 50 to enter but that includes a beer. Last time I went was about 3 weeks ago and I hit it lucky with a thin girl with a nice curvy backside named Celeste who moves her colita like magic, but she was the only one around worth the money IMHO. At 7pm on a Thursday there were probably 20 girls and half as many clients.

I'm not much for the strip clubs mostly for the annoyance of the girl drinks and pressure (although I do reccomend Pussy Cat on the Pan American just south of Estelí) but I went to Good Times with some locals a couple of months ago and the quality of chicas was not as good as in the past, but the same C$400 rate for a half hour as before. As has been mentioned here also it seems they have done away with their former two tier dancer system.

Carribean Morena is another hit or miss situation. It seems the ladies have gone downhill as the last time I went a couple of weeks ago the owner was the only looker and unfortunately not working. The rather large chicas left quoted me $300 half hour or $600 the hour and I believe another $100 for a room with air conditioning.

Bar Azul I have been to during the day, but it has been a couple of months and I'm not sure of the safety of the area. When I went the chica quality was significantly better than fenix and also a bit cheaper. 250 the media hora. It's a small bar, with cheap beer (42 for a liter) and adequate but not lujosa as far as the rooms go. Probably about the equivalent of the rooms at Fenix. This is definitely a locals spot and is the most highly reccomended on the nica boards. It isn't in Nicaro but in Rubenia and the direcion is de los semaforos de Rubenia. 400 metros hacia abajo sobre el boulevar. It is a light blue building which is not obvious to the untrained eye. I went by myself during the day and felt a little on edge in this neghborhood but nothing as bad as other parts of Managua I've been to. If anyone who has been around Managua more has an opinion on the safety of this barrio I'the appreciate it. Or if anyone wants to go together just let me know.

Something I have done but don't reccomend is look for the chicas on Carretera Masaya in front of Bancentro south of Metrocentro. While they are hands down the best looking I've seen working in Managua, the risk is not worth it (lots of ladronas and drogadas) and the service is lacking in enthusiasm and peppered with calls of apuráte.

A brief report on my all-too-limited activities in Managua.

Went to Fenix around 9:30pm on a Thursday night. Only two other customers, one falling down drunk and another who looked American. About 6-7 chicas on the couches initially, but after a little while more came down from the concrete slab side, for a total of about 12-14. I didn't venture out of the bar / couches area, as I couldn't tell if the long concrete section is an open area for everyone; it felt like if this were a strip club, that section would be the private dance area. Anyway, C$50 cover which includes a drink, and since drinks are C$50, the cover charge is really just a one drink minimum. All in all, the place didn't strike me as that lousy as expected, but the chica quality was not great and after two drinks I decided to move on to Good Time. As others have noted, the Fenix girls don't approach you – it's up to you to approach them. The dark lighting made spotting an attractive chica difficult, but it was clear that about half of them were overweight (though I have high standards in the weight department) and none of them seemed very attractive, though a few of them would have been ok in a pinch.

Club Good Time: on my first visit on a Friday night around 8:00, there were a good number of chicas and also quite a few customers. On a second visit on a Saturday after midnight things were slower. The third visit was on a Thursday around 10:15, and there were wall-to-wall chicas – probably about 30. I asked the chica I eventually went to a room with, and she said there are a lot of new girls. So I'm not sure if Thursday is the best night to go, or if they have just expanded their roster in general. General impressions about GT: it's good for what it is. One downside is that it is quite dark in the club (as someone on the forum has already noted) , which wouldn't be a problem for me except that when you go to a room with a chica, it's way too bright in the room – so inevitably you see that the 8 that was grinding on your lap is really a 6. The other downside is that many of the chicas are quite aggressive in getting you to buy them a drink (C$120, compared to about C$40 for your drink). This is understandable considering they have a lot of competition, but it seems impossible to get past 90 seconds inside before being approached and asked to buy a chica drink. It would be nice to find a happy middle ground between Good Time and Fenix in this regard. Positives are the reasonable prices (C$600 for half hour, at least for this gringo; C$50 cover) and the overall chica quality (nothing spectacular, but many are attractive). I also like the strip club atmosphere, as I enjoy a hot hands-all-over lap dance as the chicas try to get you to pay for sexo. On my latest visit, a chica came up to me at the bar and immediately started rubbing my crotch as if it were a casual handshake. Aggressive, but enjoyable.

On the actual sexo at Good Time: I haven't been impressed by the skill or enthusiasm during my three sessions, but it's good for the price. However, here is a very important tip for making the most of it: when you go to a room with a chica, you will be accompanied by one of the very heavy women that work as waitresses. Tip this woman. Yes, all she does is turn on the light and the air conditioner in the room, but she is also the one to coming knocking when your time is up. As little as C$20-30 will make sure you get the full half hour; otherwise don't be surprised if the knock on the door comes after 15 minutes (this was my experience the first time, until on my second visit the chica suggested I tip the waitress, and voila – the C$20 tip extended my session from 15 to 30 minutes). Somebody has probably already recommended this on the forum, so this tip may not be original, but it should be helpful.

I have also been hoping to visit some smaller private casas de citas, but as of yet have had no luck finding taxistas that know any. Surely I just need to keep asking, and I may try again tonight.

As a side note on getting non-pros, I recommend Chaman for a younger club crowd. If your Spanish is good and you aren't afraid to bust a move dancing, you should be able to hook up with a girl here. Matrix, on Carretera Masaya near Metrocentro and directly across from the Hilton, is a smaller club also good for dry humping on the dance floor. I have not bothered with the more upper class clubs like Moods.

Not sure if there's anything else I'm missing out on in Managua, but seems like Cueto Club, Morena, and other places discussed on the forum are not worth the time. Bar Azul that Spacechimp speaks of seems possibly like my type of place, although a google search turned up a 2007 story in El Nuevo Diario of a murder here (or another place by the same name). More info on this place would be great if anyone has details, or any other recommendations.

Bar Azul I have been to during the day, but it has been a couple of months and I'm not sure of the safety of the area. When I went the chica quality was significantly better than fenix and also a bit cheaper. 250 the media hora. It's a small bar, with cheap beer (42 for a liter) and adequate but not lujosa as far as the rooms go. Probably about the equivalent of the rooms at Fenix. This is definitely a locals spot and is the most highly reccomended on the nica boards. It isn't in Nicaro but in Rubenia and the direcion is de los semaforos de Rubenia. 400 metros hacia abajo sobre el boulevar. It is a light blue building which is not obvious to the untrained eye. I went by myself during the day and felt a little on edge in this neghborhood but nothing as bad as other parts of Managua I've been to. If anyone who has been around Managua more has an opinion on the safety of this barrio I'the appreciate it. Or if anyone wants to go together just let me know.

Where exactly is Bar Azul is it on Pista Juan Pablo II? Semaforos de rubenia seems not to be precise?

If you tell any taxi driver: la puticlub Bar Azul de los semaforos de Rubenia. 400 metros hacia abajo sobre el boulevar he should get you there in a hurry. Most drivers know it, they just might express some surprise that a gringo is asking to go there. I believe the street is named Pista de la Solidaridad, but that is not particularly relevant given nobody uses the street names with maybe the exception of Carretera Norte and Carretera Masaya.

The directions start with a landmark and often a landmark that has been gone for years or even decades. Donde fue Sandys (where Sandy's was) as a notable example (it is near the BAC building IIRC).

Then the number of cuadras (block) arriba, bajo, al lago or al sur and for the truly precise there will be additional distances in varas which are approximately a meter. Sometimes landmarks will be added at the end like the colour of the building, fences, trees, cars if parked for years and immobile.

Link says $40 US for a single and $50 for a double, but not including taxes. Sounds like a good deal but what are the taxes? Can be up to 20% in Latin America. Is the pick up included? I like that laundry is included in the room rate. Can you give us a better idea of the location? Downtown?
