Montreal day 3.

Canada generally follows US law enforcement techniques, and what you are describing, law enforcement "taking over" a perfectly legal" business such as an escort agency that sells time and companionship without the business receiving a trial regarding any alleged illegal activity, and sending an undercover cop into a hotel room to openly solicit sex has never happened, and it never will happen. Not only are there entrapment issues, but unlike an undercover streetwalker operation, there is no way to ensure the safety of the policewoman. It is just not ever going to happen- outcall from a reviewed escort will always be the safest option.
Stings happen at incall places in the US, including plenty of fake Backpage ads luring the guys to hotel rooms with cops in the next room ready to barge in. It does not happen a lot, but it happens. For massage places, if a cop receives a verbal response to his requests for sex, he can detain everyone at the place as a potential witness to a crime and work on getting confessions later.
So I think I outcall will always be safer than incall.That smacks of entrapment, and wonder whether that practice can survive court scrutiny. I used to monger in Montreal a fair bit. I have to read up in the forum now to see if it is as a good a place as it was.

Did that make mongering a safe and readily accessible thing?With respect to your other post, entrapment is the standard law enforcement technique in the US with respect to enforcing the prostitution laws. Unfortunately the courts do not throw cases out based on entrapment very often. Fortunately, law enforcement in the US is primarily directed at the lower end of the market and venues liked Backpage. Pay a lot in the US, see reviewed girls who screen, avoid Backpage (unless the provider has reviews on a respected site), and you will likely never encounter a cop in the US.
Also, fortunately Canada has not yet done entrapment stings like the US does, but it is something to watch. That is why I suggested going with a reviewed agency or independent in Montreal. There are plenty of them.
The Canadian Supreme Court once made outcall prostitution legal under a principle similar to the Right to Privacy that is theoretically enjoyed in the US (but in practicality is a right only really enjoyed in the US by women having abortions). Incall and brothels were always illegal in Canada even after this court decision, but the law was only sporadically enforced. It was the rare enforcement of the law with respect to residential incall that caused the Supreme Court of Canada to reconsider and declare that all prostitution was legal. Incall or outcall. But the Supreme Court stayed its ruling for one year to allow the legislature (the one body with higher authority than the Supreme Court) to decide if if wanted to draft new laws.
The legislature responded by making prostitution illegal, but exempting from prosecution the sex worker (unless she committed certain sins such as advertising near a school). So the practical effect is that the john commits a crime but the sex worker does not.
Such a law is sometimes called the Swedish Model, sometimes called the Nordic Model, and sometimes called a Cyclone of Shit. Fortunately, it has not yet resulted in significant Canadian law enforcement activity against johns, and it is not clear how an arrest would in practicality occur if a sex worker does outcall to a hotel or residence. The whole thing is a work in progress, and draws plenty of a Chicken Littles who are unaccustomed to breaking laws. The citizens of many countries, primarily the US, are used to breaking laws in order to purchase sex, and try to bring some common sense to the equation when posting.
If a person does not do stupid shit, had should be fine mongering in Canada. But life has no ironclad guarantees.
It will be interesting to see how the Canadian Supreme Court looks at the new law. The Constitution of Canada still outranks the Legislature, and the law may be overturned on Constitutional grounds. Thought I'd post this here since MERB screens negative reviews to protect the agencies. BHIronically, incall sex was always illegal, but the law was completely ignored since outcall sex was legal as long as nothing was discussed in public. Then the Supreme Court ruled that to be unconstitutional and it made all prostitution legal amongst consenting adults, but put the ruling in abeyance so the legislature would have time to act.
The legislature then enacted C-36, which makes prostitution illegal for all parties but does not permit the actual prostitutes to be prosecuted since they are automatically viewed as victims. The enactment of C-36, along with a Montreal mayor who does not like massage parlors, has caused a lot of them to close in Montreal. Of course they have not all closed- I am not trying to be dramatic. Thought I'd post this here since MERB screens negative reviews to protect the agencies. TIA.For starters, they are all guest friendly. A very few require key cards to access the elevators and some guys do not like to have to go down and meet the provider in the lobby. But it is not that big of a deal to do so.
My personal favorite is the Hyatt. Nice big rooms, no elevator key card. The girls do not even have to walk by the front desk to get to the elevator, and it is perfect walking distance to get to many touristy areas and the metro.

If you like living in a simple world, yes if you read the new "c-36" law you will come to the conclusion that a payment for a full contact grinding lap dance is probably illegal.
If you want to live in the real world, join merb. CC and read the strip club thread. You will find out that most places have booths and that at some places you get very little in the booth and at some places, with the right stripper, you get a hell of a lot in the booth.
It is not some Orwellian world of 1984 with cameras everywhere and the Sex Police seeing too much contact in a lap dance and suddenly swooping in to make a Sex Arrest. BajaIt all depends on what kind of strip club you want to visit. If you want a strip club with "options" you have to go off the island. The only club I know on the island that might do it is Cleos (corner of st Laurent / st Catherine). If you play you cards nicely, some of the day shift / afternoon girls might offer takeout.

Turn data off when not on wifi. You can still talk and text with data off (at least I can). If you leave data on (with no wifi) you will run up a big bill since your smartphone will keep downloading emails and keep contacting its American host.
Call Verizon and see what 30 day international plan they can add. Talk and text in Canada is just not that expensive for Americans under most international plans. I think on my last trip I ran up about $15 - $20 of additional charges and I talked, texted and did some address searches several times.
Join merb. CC and do your research beforehand with free internet in the US. You will not be talking and texting that much with the agencies if you have made some lists of ladies you would like to see. Very safe. I have walked downtown late at night and early in the morning (to catch the 747 bus for an early morning flight). Safer than comparable U.S. cities. Don't cross the intersection on a Don't Walk sign, though. A cop chased me down and lectured me and told me I would get a ticket next time.

I have never even thought about renting a car. Parking is terrible, it is a walkable city, the subway is easy to use, and cabs are not that expensive.

ATMs are plentiful. Better exchange rates than at the airport, where they fuck you. Tell your bank you will be traveling in Canada before you leave. That is important.

3. There are banks & ATMs on almost every street in downtown. Most of the bank ATMs charge $3 fee for every $400. CIBC bank allows you to draw more than $400 at a time for $3 fee. Calforex Currency Exchange at the intersection of St. Catherine & Avenue Union had very good exchange rate for USD. It is another option to consider.

I did pre-book with Euphoria & Mojo. Euphoria posts their lineup for each of weekend day a day in advance. Euphoria girls get booked very fast based on my experience during last visit. So act accordingly. It may be too late if you wait until the day.
There is no point in worrying about it the lineup if you have already decided to go there during weekend. Just pick the best out of the ones available and enjoy.

The public transportation system, Socitete de transport Montreal (stm), has an app. Plug in origin / destination and it will give you route. Google Maps (public transportation) option works pretty well as well. If you fly into YUL, there's the airport bus #747 which takes you downtown (trip takes 45-60 minutes). A 24-hour pass is $10 CAD valid on the airport bus and metro / buses. There is also a 72-hour pass for $18 CAD. Once you clear immigration formalities at the airport, stick to your right hand side. There will be a stm kiosk by the exit. It takes credit cards. When you are facing the kiosk, look to the right and the 747 bus is right there. You can also buy these passes at Metro (eg subway) station kiosks.
If you have a Car2Go account, you can use it in Montreal. Dropping off the vehicle in downtown core is pretty easy as Car2Go has reserved spots in downtown lots. There's also Uber. Uber is not legal (but then again neither is the hobby) so the driver will ask you to sit in the front passenger seat.
As for ATM, if you have a Charles Schwab brokerage or bank account, you're all set. ATM fees reimbursed. No f/x fee. There are also several Allpoint ATMs around (Capital 360 is a member). Love the bathroom shower. I don' t know if they are all the same but the shower was walk-in with literally room for 3 and separate shower heads. Never saw anything like this before.
Small hotel but clean and nice with bar and restaurant.

Just for the uninformed, all hotels in Montreal are girl-friendly. It is not like many places in South America and Northern Africa where a security guard watches everything and guests must register. Most of them will take a cursory flip through it to be sure it is there and leave it otherwise untouched. Some will immediately put it in her purse. A few will do nothing but glance at it. But the overriding complaint of most of the Montreal natives is the lack of quality Asians. I think that Tiffany is the only Asian Euphoria girl. The rest, or almost all the rest, are very much white, except for Olivia who is half South American if I recall correctly.

That said, it should be beautiful if not a little gray (leaves will be mostly gone) and could be snowy. I just noticed that you also mentioned a central location. The Hyatt is my favorite hotel. It is a very short walk to Old Montreal and also located so that you can walk right from the hotel onto the three horizontal streets where all of the popular shops and restaurants are.
It is extremely girl friendly in that it has no elevator key cards and the ladies do not even need to walk by the check-in desk to get to the elevators. But once again, none of that really matters. All hotels allow unregistered guests to go to the rooms.

The latest post I read on merb says no elevator key cards. If there is, it is no big deal to meet the girl in the lobby. And the blocking is not directed at merb and there is no blocking of phone numbers. A lot of hotels, including The Sheraton, block all adult sites on wifi. The damn Montreal transport system such as the 747 bus, does the same thing. Just use your cellular service instead of wifi for this purpose.

I just came back from Montreal. This is similar to an earlier question regarding the Intercontinental Hotel, and also whether the hotel elevators required key access.
Although the Intercontinental Hotel elevators do have provision for key card access, it certainly wasn't enabled when I was there for 3 days. I never needed a key card to get to my room (anywhere between 9 pm and 3 am). Never had anything blocked on wifi or any trouble with phoning agencies or escorts from the room. I've stayed in several other hotels previously in Montreal (including the Marriott) and never had an issue with any of this either, or with escorts getting to or leaving the room. Montreal is pretty laid back when it comes to sex and escorts so you should be okay.
