The chongos are my kind of thing. The best hardcore action at moneysaving prices.

If it takes too long to get to these places it wouldn't be worth the effort.

One can spend an entire day going to the Troc for one 15 minute session.

If places started popping up in Lince, Polvos Azules, Centro, or Gamarra then I am game. Otherwise the travel to and from is a major boner killer.

That's why next trip I'm going to try staying in San Miguel. Dunno how successful I will be (whether I will miss Miraflores' creature comforts) but at least it won't be such a trek.

Miraflores has better food and more entertainment to kill time. The only issue is it is really far from any low budget mongering. Be prepared to be on the streets all day for a Trocadero visit via combi.

San Miguel is a strategic location since you can zip over to Argentina fairly easy. Food choices might get boring though besides the mall.

I'm doing some research and might even have some one come over and teach me some peruvian dishes. Apparently theres a fair bit near the uni and near Av Brazil. I'll probably do some long-distance trips as well.

What did you miss from Miraflores? Casinos? Pubs?
