Back in 1990 when Mexico was building the highway from Cancun to Chetumal, capital of Quintana Roo, I drove a rental car all the way down South through verdant jungle, stopping at some of the most beautiful beaches along the way. The highway was mostly fresh ground still being leveled by bull dozers, had no problem.

Rode AC buses to Chitchen Itza and Merida, 5 to 6 hours on nice clean roads among the greenest jungle with scattered Mayan villages. It was Sept, hot like an oven. Those were exotic and fun trips.

Per Google Map, AC buses leave about every hour from Cancun to Chetumal, costing about 600 NMP or $35. Meanwhile AMLO train will leave only twice a day. Buses go on main roads and stop at villages along the way; train will go through mostly jungle with nothing to see and cost more than buses.

Experienced travelers said bus transport work well and cheap all over Yucatan. Tourists are unlikely to take the train with its inconvenient schedule and higher costs. Out of the 100,000 tourists average in Cancun everyday, wonder how many would take the train anywhere. They are too busy laying out in the beach, get drunk, stuff with buffet food, party all night or have sex in the hotels.

No cost / benefit analysis was ever made public. Looks like AMLO's $30-billion train loop will be a big flop, further draining hundreds million $ of loss every year from the people of Mexico. When AMLO fails to make payment for the loan to Chinese banks, China will foreclose and take over Yucatan peninsula.

Very nice. By 2024 we can ride the train all around Yucatan in a loop from Cancun to Merida, Chetumal, Campeche, Chiapas and Palengue.

Hope the Mexico's Army can run the train without wrecking it, provide security for tourists down the wild Southern states, prevent the cartels from using it to transport drugs and migrants to ride it nearer to the US border.

Thanks for the link Captain. Yeah, Tulum airport just opened up as well. For now, it is just domestic flights so flying to Cancun is more time effective in getting to Tulum.

Here is a map of the train route: https://trenmayaa.com/en/route/.

And here is more news: https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/first-portion-of-mexicos-maya-train-set-to-begin-operation/.

The first section of Mexico's Tren Maya, or Maya Train — a tourism project on the country's southeastern tip championed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador — is slated to open today (Friday, Dec. 15), just five years after it was announced and years ahead of initial projections.

The initial segment, opening today, runs some 298 miles between Cancúand and Campeche, with a trip taking six hours. The entire route is projected to be completed by February.

End of link.

I have always wanted to go South of Tulum to the lake of seven colors, Lake Bacalar. Thing is I was never keen on driving the eight hours round trip from Cancun to get there. Roads in Mexico are better than anywhere I have driven in South America (though I heard Chile is great, have not been there) but still I was not keen on going on roads to far off the beaten path. To be able to hop on a train though, that is fucking awesome.

I am not sure about buying a house but the airport and roads are going to make the area south of Tulum very desirable for housing speculation. The Mexican deserve kudos for getting the train and airport built as quickly as they did.

I'm hoping the whole thing will sink into a cenote and be swallowed by the jungle. I'm taking my bike through the Yucatan for a farewell tour before the chinese tourists take over. I wish Hamas would paraglide over there for a change of pace and take some of those Morena goofballs hostage.

AMLO rail line will destroy hundreds thousands acres of virgin jungle and wild life in it. It's sad.

Don't know what month and how you can bike through Yucatan. It's hot like an oven with sporadic rain shower. I would not go unless in a AC vehicle.

Trains are usually not popular with tourists. Who would want to go sight seeing on noisy and sweaty trains with limited schedule? Train demand is high primarily for commuting and carrying cargo, but the rail line is not linking the West to East coast. Even if it does the costs and delays will not be competitive with the Panama canal, unless OC runs out of lake water to operate and has to shut down.

How can it generate economic development for locals? What can it improve upon extensive existing bus network? It's likely will incur huge losses every year just like China's High Speed Rail.

It is that you will not have to deal with as much traffic and I assume you will be in a cool train. It is usually an hour from Cancun to Tulum. I have been stuck in traffic and it has taken three hours. It was so bad that until they fixed the roads, I was not going to Playa del Carmen or Tulum. It is fixed but there still can be horrible traffic.

They are too busy laying out in the beach, get drunk, get high, stuff their mouths with buffet food, party all night or have sex in the hotels. That is Cancun. When you go to Tulum and PDC, you see the thrill seekers. That is where the Xcaret parks are and IMO where all the real fun is, but I do not think you get what a pain in the ass it is getting there. The public bus dumps you in town and there was no Uber before to take you from your stop to the hotel you were in. Getting a cab to PDC or Tulum was either so expensive or such a pain in the ass that I routinely just rented a car. Now I might not have to.

Still, I prefer a car to a bus and in Europe, I preferred a train to a car.

As for it being a flop, I do not see it. The lines the last time I was in Cancun were insane. Anything that can lighten the congestion IMO is going to be a hit.

Seasoned travelers said bus traffic along the coast, also Eastbound to Merida and Chitchen Itza, have been smooth for years.

Recently Cancun has been doing a $350 Mil project, building more access roads around the airport, also adding a 5-mile bridge across Nichupte lagoon to bring workers directly from downtown to Hotel Zone. Those are good moves to make life easier for workers, but will cause temporary disruptions for now.

Today 3 PM Cancun time, Maps shows buses departing downtown Cancun every 30 minutes, taking 1 hour 20 minutes to P the see, 2 hours 30 minutes to Tulum. There was no mention of traffic problems. The Army-operated Tren Maya that will run twice a day at higher prices will have very hard time competing against nimble, low-cost private operators. Army chiefs will pilfer everything out of that train system to spend on their mistresses, prostitutes, fine dining, expensive liquors, drugs and luxuries. Screw the tourists, Mayans and AMLO.

Public transportation should aim at serving local people who need to ride everyday, not drunk tourists who only come once every few years. And then rail lines will still operate at step losses for decades. China is losing billions every month with its High Speed Rail system.

My buddy and I hit the Plaza district the other night. First we checked out some of the nightclubs, which didn't look that interesting. Then we started getting hit up by these strip club promoters while walking along. You also have guys running up to you "Hey! You want to see a real *house? I take you there!" We declined and kept walking. But the strip club promoters keep following you wherever you walk. They were acting pretty desperate for business, and after passing on 3 clubs we finally gave in and agreed to enter Baby's. The doormen wanted $200 pesos from each of us. We negotiated for $300 for both.

When we entered, I noticed we were the first customers of the night and it was already 10:30 PM or so. The way it works in Cancun. The girls all line up together in front of your chair and you pick one you like. They were all 8, 9, 10's, so the quality was there. I just couldn't figure out why these clubs are starving for patrons?

One busty, natural blonde girl was escorted over to our seats by the manager and she asked me if she could sit with me. She requested a whiskey. I ordered one and the waiter said "That will be $45 USD. " . . . HUH?! $45 for a small drink? Then the girl explained that she and the lap dance come with the drink. She wound up dancing for 3 to 4 songs for that $ amount, so it was a quite reasonable deal. There are spaces along the side of the main room with small crude wooden benches and curtains that can be drawn. To have a 30 minute session in one of those spaces (I wouldn't call them rooms) is $1500 pesos. My dancer did suggest sex, but those benches looked pretty uncomfortable. I asked the blonde for her phone number and suggest we get together the following night, but she said she wanted $400 USD. No way am I paying that in Cancun!! So we ended the conversation there.

If you leave at 5 AM when there is no traffic, PDC is like a 30 or 40 minute drive from the Cancun airport. It is only 35 miles away. Tulum is 74 miles away. I have done it in a little over an hour when there was no traffic and up to four when there was.

Maybe you are right, and the train is a big flop. All I know is that if the train allows for easier transportation and faster transit, I will be using it.

I'the steer clear of the clubs. Unfortunately Cancun girls are way overpriced.

I had some luck there using a forum if I'm remembering, right. But that part was hit or miss as usual.

I was able to get a 35 YO Cuban, who put a lot of effort in. It was 2500 per hour or about 150 usd. Much more expensive than other areas.

The same night I had a very attractive, younger girl, early 20's who was pretty enthusiastic. Same price and we stayed in touch for a while.

What I suspect is happening is the clubs are gouging everyone. The girls themselves arent overpricing themselves by much.

On the other hand, a lot more fun could be had in for example, Mexico City. A while back, I was finding some really nice streetwalkers as low as $20 for 15 minutes. These were younger ladies, who were attractive. I think it might've been part of the Migrant stuff going on.

I've spent most of my time in Mexico city and Monterrey. Those were 1-4 week trips back when I wasn't working regularly. I've built up a small amount of experience in the hobby. I'm considering trying to do some kind of 3 day run to Cancun from Atlanta. I know Cancun sucks but the flights are quick and cheap. I have in mind 2 serious meetups per trip and then some scouting. I learned from past experience that quality can be better than quantity. Last time I was there I think I was paying $150 per meeting. Are there any reputable agency's there for in calls? I have good sources in the other city's but they took time to find. I was using mileroticos and sex mundo anuncio. It worked out but was 50/50.

I went to Cancun last week. I was only there for one night before going to Bacalar. I first tried Manhattan, but the girl asked for $8000. As I was leaving one of the doorman directed me to a brothel in the Marcado Coral Negro; it's behind a bar. I thought for a minute that he was taking me someplace to rob me. There are no signs, and they buzz you in, not sure if I had to have the doorman with me to get in. There were two girls. One was a super cute Colombian. Total was $3,000.

Quick Report: I stayed 5 nights at the Renaissance Cancun Marina. Nice location attached to a mall. Great for dining. Had a few visitors from mileroticos. One great experience and one not so great. The great one was a young girl name Itza. Body is a solid 10. Just awesome. Face is a 7. (Maybe an 8 after she takes off her glasses!) BBBJ was very good. Total 2650 included 150 for taxi. SPoke good English which made it even more pleasant. The other visit was 4400 for 2 girls. Planned for 1 but her "handler" showed up for the hand off and spoke English. So I decided FUCK IT. THREESOME! Had to pay 50 USD for 3rd person in the room. I complained and they said OK, 35 USD. Sex was OK. Not BBBJ. Not sharing name because it was obviously not the girl in the ad. Probably a "syndicate" of sorts. Anyway. Definitely would repeat with Itza! Check today and she's still there. Happy Travels!

Welcome to Cancun!

Cancun was a very nice and clean city. According to Google, "Cancun, a Mexican city on the Yucatand Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea, is known for its beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife. It's composed of 2 distinct areas: the more traditional downtown area, El Centro, and Zona Hotelera, a long, beachfront strip of high-rise hotels, nightclubs, shops and restaurants. ".

I recommend staying clear of this city during March and April because of all the snot-nosed little bastards going there for spring break.

Why Cancun?

I went to Quintana Roo many years ago, but it was only to Cozumel with my x-wife and for only 6 hours off a cruise ship. I was not seeking putas and eating great food. Thus, I felt like I cheated on Quintana Roo. This is why I traveled to Cancun.

Note: I flew to Cancun out of Tijuana and back only using my passport card. A passport book is not required.

All the money I quote is in pesos, unless you see the dollar sign.

I used CBX from Otay to the Tijuana airport and back. CBX round trip was around 38 bucks. CBX prices are seasonal. They have a low season, regular season, and high season. I crossed during the low season.

After clearing immigration at the Tijuana airport, I relaxed in the lounge for some chow and adult beverages. Returning, there were a few VIP lounges in terminal 4.

Getting there:

I flew Aeromexico round-trip to Cancun. Each way, there was a layover in Mexico City. Beware of layover times at MEX! Make sure you have at least 1. 5 or 2 hours layover between flights at that airport! I cannot stress that enough. Both of my layovers were cut short because the aircrafts spent too much time sitting on the pinche tarmac.

Airport transportation:

While searching for information about airport taxis, it appeared it was difficult just grabbing a taxi. In addition, Ubers were not permitted to pick-up at the airport. So, during my layover in Mexico City, I started looking for private companies.

I decided on Cancun Transfers / FerAlter (same company). The cost was $24 and the ride to my hotel took just over 30 minutes. Returning, I used an Uber and the cost was 517 pesos.

Getting around town:

I used taxis and Ubers throughout my stay. The taxis were not metered and the prices were ridiculous. I used Ubers when they were available and even their prices were higher than normal. I was unable to hire a taxi or Uber by the hour; that was the first time that happened during all my trips to Mexico.

Hotel:

I stayed at the Hotel Krystal in the Zona Hotelera. The hotel was very nice, but dated. Keep in mind, Krystal has several properties in Cancun. Initially, I went to the wrong property. I had a nice dated room with a great view of the ocean. Was it girl friendly? Yes, I brought in an escort from Mileroticos on Saturday.

Communication:

I have the T-Mobile Go5 GPlus55 plan; no worries whatsoever.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

Carajillo Excellent.

El Socio Naiz Nadar. Outstanding.

Chamboa Outstanding.

Rosa Negra Outstanding.

Lorenzillo's Outstanding.

As you can tell, the food scene was incredible!

Spanish:

I thought because Cancun was a resort destination, English would be widely spoken. That was not the case, only some English was spoken, which included in the hotel, restaurants, drivers, and clubs.

The mongering scene:

Strip / table dance clubs:

First off, all the pricing in the clubs was incredibly high when compared to all the other cities I visited in Mexico. I started out with a list of twelve clubs, but I only found nine.

In each club, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to chime in with the correct information. I wrote down the prices of the cheapest beer and ficha.

Club: Kiss.

Cover: $20.

Club: Barber Spa.

Cover: $20.

Beer: 160.

Ficha: 600.

Sex: One chica quoted $400 for 1 hour and another chunky chica quoted me 5000 pesos for 1 hour. It was a mix of prices. I passed on both.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 20.

Quality of Chicas: Very good to hot.

Night / Time: Friday /8.

Comments: There were two parts of this club; one part had a really nice balcony while the other part was inside and rather crappy. As mentioned before, if you are facing Coco Bongo, to the right there is a small three story mall. The place is located on the third floor and on the left.

Club: Sugar the.

Sex: 5000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 20.

Quality of Chicas: Very good to hot.

Night / Time: Friday /12:30.

Comments: This place was hard to find. It was around the corner from Sugar the and to the left. Pass the restaurant and one other building on your left and continue on to the next building. There was a nice looking place with men dressed in suits. Go in, chat with them, pay the cover, and walk through the Happy Door. The club was big and beautiful. I enjoyed my time in the place.

Club: El Ejecutivo Piano.

Cover: None.

Beer: 120.

Sex: 6000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 3.

Quality of Chicas: 2 good and 1 OK.

Night / Time: Friday /1:30.

Comments: I think there was no cover because there were only 3 chicas, and one of them was not available for sex. It was a large great looking club and I was the only client in the place. The other El Ejecutivo shut down, thus, the El Ejecutivo Piano was the only option.

Club: La Envidia.

Cover: 200.

Beer: 120.

Ficha: 480.

Sex: 6000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Night / Time: Friday /2:20.

Comments: This was a smaller club with some girls that stripped down to bare metal. The place was friendly and there was no pressure from the staff or chicas.

The "Secret Black Door" in the middle of a souvenir market:

Across from Coco Bongo there was an alley road full of small souvenir shops. There was a dude on the street and he asked me if I wanted any food or drinks. I replied, "No, solo quiero panocha!" he smiled and said, "Sigueme!" Off we went through a good size market and we stopped at the Secret Black Door.

He rang the bell and when the door opened, I was greeted by a nice gentleman. He went over the rules; no kissing, no touching orifices, and so on. Sounded like Mexico City street girls' rules. The prices were $160 for 20 minutes, $200 for 30 minutes, and $300 for 1 hour. This was around 6 pm on Friday and there were only two chicas available; both were hot! However, I did not like the rules or the prices; I declined and left.

Street scene:

There was a street scene, but a few taxis and Ubers drivers told me it was dangerous for me to go there. Finally, I found a taxi that drove me through the area, but still, he seemed a bit hesitant about his decision. As we were driving through disneyland, he explained if the police saw me with one of the chicas, I would be arrested.

The area was down and dirty! I wanted to get out of the taxi and chat with a few of the chicas, but the driver refused to stop; yes, he was nervous. There were two main streets: Calle 18 and Calle 22. There was more action on Calle 22. The cross streets were Calle 3 through Calle 17. I did not see Parque El Crucero.

Escort scene:

The only escort site I use in Mexico is Mileroticos. In Cancun, there was a small amount of escorts posting during my trip. The prices ranged from 1200 to 3000 for an hour. If you had a hotel in El Centro, the prices were lower. Once they knew my hotel was in the Zona Hotelera, the prices increased by 500. I found a cutie that was charging 1500 for an hour, but because of my hotel location, the price was 2000. In Cancun, that was a fucking bargain!

Final thoughts on Cancun:

It was a seeking putas and eating great food trip. I thought the city was completely safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. Would I ever return to Cancun? No, even though the restaurants were amazing, there were too many tourists running amuck for my liking. Not to mention, the prices for the club putas were outrageous! Would I recommend it to other mongers? Nah, there are too many other great monger destinations to visit throughout Mexico. As for me, I still had a good time in Cancun.

Como siempre, solo mis dos pinche pesos, por supuesto!

Club: Kiss.

Cover: $20.

Beer: 100.

Ficha: 400.

Sex: 6000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 20.

Quality of Chicas: Very good to hot.

Night / Time: Thursday /1:30.

Comments: A really nice big club with hotties throughout the place. Out of these first top 5 clubs listed, this place seemed to have better prices.

Club: Queens.

Cover: $20.

Beer: 150.

Ficha: 650.

Sex: 8000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 18.

Quality of Chicas: Very good to hot.

Night / Time: Thursday /2.

Comments: A great looking club with many hot chicas, but the prices were off the chart.

Club: Manhattan.

Cover: 200.

Beer: 150.

Ficha: 650.

Sex: 8000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 15.

Quality of Chicas: Good to very good.

Night / Time: Thursday /2:30.

Comments: A smaller nice club with a couple of hotties in the mix. It was more laid-back than the others. But the prices, fuck that!

Club: Baby's.

Cover: $20.

Beer: 150.

Ficha: 800.

Sex: 8000 for 1 hour.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 15.

Quality of Chicas: Good to very good.

Night / Time: Thursday /3.

Comments: All the chicas lined up in front of me and there was a lot of pressure to choose one. After sending the heard away, some kept returning to apply more pressure. Fuck that place!

Cover: 200.

Beer: Could not buy just one. It was 360 for a bucket of 4 beers.

Ficha: 800.

Sex: 7500 for 40 minutes.

On Site: Yes.

Number of Chicas: 20.

Quality of Chicas: Good to very good.

Night / Time: Friday /11:45.

Comments: This was a local club in El Centro. It seemed local, but had the big club prices. Nice place to check out.

Club: Mansion Venues.

Cover: $20.

Beer: 110.

Ficha: 550.

Beer: 120.

Ficha: 500.

Number of Chicas: 15.

Quality of Chicas: Good to very good.

Happy Travels!Does Renaissance allowed outside guests (you know what I mean) during day time to your room?

I did not think any of the clubs in El Centro were dangerous. It just depends on your comfort level.

Total was $3,000.I would love to know more about this place.

So ill be in Cancun next week and been doing some research and just realized how hard it would be to get a lady into my room? I would love some help or input on how to have a good time.I am heading last week of Feb. If you can post your exp later. Someone suggested to rent 2 places. One for your actual stay and other from Airbnb for your activities. You can get independent apartments like in $60-70 a night. Use miler to find your companion and use 2nd place for service.

Last time when I was in Cancun, I visited a house for incall. There were 10-12 girls to pick from and for $100 / HR they take good care of you. Any report for similar places recently?

Does Renaissance allowed outside guests (you know what I mean) during day time to your room?I wrote that they wanted to charge $50 for 3rd person but didn't explicitly state that one guest is free as long as you booked the room for two.

As always, great report from TomJackin.

Some points on Cancun:

Taxi from CUN Terminal quoted 1,700 MXN. Rates are not regulated. There is no Uber from CUN. So, you pay 130 pesos inside the terminal for ADO bus that takes you non stop to Central Cancun. There you can take Uber or Taxi. Taxi rates are not regulated. The city is divided by taxi groups each with its price. Are-1 bus at 12 pesos takes you from the Ceviche roundabout near Office Depot to Hotel Zone.

The bus in the hotel zone does not run a loop. One way lanes are divided, so its easy to miss your stop first time. Taxi back to CUN 500 pesos, and Uber half of it.

Now, street action is illegal in the state. Rates around 600 pesos. Quality is poor and can't be recommended. Mileroticos and few other sites have very posts, mostly from visitors to Cancun.

As for club rates, just divide it by 17 to get USD rate.

Hey guys, traveling to Grand Oasis this week and was wondering if anyone had any experience here with getting girls in?
