If you watch the stage finishing on top of Loze reported by french TV, you have speed, so I could compare and was so surprised gruppetto climbed steepest at only 5 km / h, maybe because they had to push him to reach the top. BTW, he is a sprinter and relative to other pros a poor climber.

Michal Kwiatkowski: world champ, Milan San Remo, 2 Amstel Gold, 2 Strade Bianche, plenty of top tens in classics, won Tirreno Adriatico, etc, while most of the time working as a domestique.

You never climbed steep when you didn't even know how can easily reach 70 km / h downhill and I could be much faster if I didn't brake when I climb without helmet and same when free riding in rocks. Some professionals who weight 70 kgs with bicycle reach 100 , they are just crazy when nearly 70 is much more impressive than 250 in Germany. But you can't know when you never climbed when you don't have the body, not slim enough. In fact, his non aerodynamic head with a Bush he calls hair makes him less aero, probably offsetting any 5-10 W gain from stupidly not wearing a helmet going down hill. And going shirtless also makes one less aero compared to form fitting lycra. There's a reason why UCI requires short length bottoms and does no allow socks to go above a certain height, aero fabric adds speed versus going with rough bare skin.
Main point: stupidly trying to sound tough without a helmet or shirt would actually probably slow him down more than speed him up.
The point about American pro athletes was regarding the comment about power, not specifically cycling power. Obviously a 140 lb pro cyclist will outperform a 300 pound NFL defensive end on a bike, but in terms of raw power in the legs, not so much.
As for the poster of the discussion, I know he has old injuries so I'm pretty certain he can't actually ride a bike in a proper position in order to maintain respectable speeds whether uphill or downhill. I'm certain a flat back is not possible for him, and no way he's flexible enough to put out any respectable power in aero position.

When I decided on 2003 while watching tour I would be able to climb same than them, when I was never on a bicycle since 20 years, I bought one and just went. On first Summer, I climbed Tarentaise la Madeleine, Maurienne Galibier, Alp Huez, Malaucene Ventoux, not so bad and with a VTT with suspensions, not at all adapted. With age and knowledge, 20 years later, I m nearly 50% faster now in same and able to climb the most extreme, without needing to train out of my beloved mountains, just with my strength in mind, body and heart for cardio, able for intense, violent on some parts, efforts for hours and even under high heat, sometimes more than 35 degrees at the bottom when starting. I remember on Summer 2016 , arriving from Germany I drove from at night, more than 35 degrees under sun at Bourg Oisans, putting my best friend down car and starting on the NL famous, full charge as always, with only swim boxer, I didn't feel so good when I reached la Garde but with high heart rhythm it was not so bad, but just above la Garde, much less steep, so heart rhythm went slowlier and then I just had time to jump off bicycle, losing fluids from 3 holes at same time, sweating a river, fog in eyes, my legs couldn't stand up, after recovering a bit I sent message to sport medical center where I make efforts tests which are just nothing compare to my real sports, they told me under effort under heat my organs lost pressure, something a bit dangerous according to them, but less than 1 hour after, when I could a bit stand up on my legs, when I should have gone downhill very slowly, took car and went to closest hotel to drink and sleep, even I failed for the time and then I usually give up and try again later, but for my first day, I couldn't resist, I thought I will prepare for better tomorrow, climbing last 10 kms to reach famous Alp Huez and of course returning on next day very well prepared. Of course, I forgot to tell the end to doctors, but I wonder if most professionals would do, when I m not paid, nobody ask me in ear. And ski can be even more extreme when I can hardly walk with broken back, but I don t feel bad on skis. Passion and dreams, as long I m able, looking forward this Summer climbing tour and Christmas for ski for my best present.

All athletes in the entire world must be all so stupid, plus their teams and coaches and sport scientists, they spend so much time and effort in the winter outside in the cold or on the trainer to keep in shape. All universities with world class physiology departments should study how a mid fifties guy with no training is more fit than professionals.
Is a negative test required to enter Germany?No. A negative COVID test is not needed to enter Germany right now. The negative COVID test requirements are set to expire on August 31st. There has been no indication as to whether they will continue to allow no COVID test to enter after that time or not. I'm sure we will know more as the time gets closer. My guess is that it will continue to be a no COVID test policy and depending on how the virus does over summer, perhaps requiring a test if you are coming from a high case load country.
