I live in NL, cross frequently, last time was Wednesday 7/23, I have never had my temperature taken on the USA side. Entering Mexico, every time, entering USA, never. Not saying they don't do that, but I have never seen it.Let us know the next time you cross if they check it. I swear I remember them taking it but if I remember it incorrectly I'll damn sure admit it. Makes me wonder what all else I've gotten wrong in life.

And for that matter, in either direction those last two times.

Return trip from MTY, half the lanes were closed, 1.5 hour wait. It was terrible. Pull up, to booth and 5 minutes later I am escorted to the secondary lane. They made me take everything out of my car. Then searched it twice. Then they made me drive my car over and they X-rayed it twice, then searched it again. It was terrible. I let the agent have it after he finished. I was not mad about being in the secondary lane, but after 15 minutes they knew I had nothing, but they continued the search. I told them they were totally wasting there resources. He claimed it was random, nothing random about this. Part of the game, but it totally sucked.

Waiting on my Sentri Card and I will register my truck as well. Had a great trip, so I can not complain, but I can not handle 2-3 hours at the border.

Thank you. I have seen this info. before in other threads here and maybe on CRT. Think I dug up this also on the DEA web-site. If anyone has a reference this on DEA's web-site can you please PM me or post? I don't really even like both drugs anymore but they help me sleep. Zolpidem (Ambien) my favorite. I have found that if I can exercise regularly I don't even need these but with indoor gyms and pools closed / restricted and hot as phuck this time of year in Texas very hard to get good quality exercise in. I hate hate walking / running on treadmills indoors.

All this and with heat here TX and unable to escape to CR or CO for fresh mountain air is like I got ants ants crawling up my butthole and body. Crazy!!! I'm going crazy. I have trip booked to TJ in Sept. but scared to even pick of SWs who may have had customers who deposited COVID droplets in their hair then I smell their hair. Think the TJ SWs would be offended if I gently wipe their hair with Sani-wipes before sessioning? I also have option to drive to Monterrey which I really enjoyed it last summer.I found the reference on the CBP web-site today googling "Know Before You Go". I found the CFR reference also on the DOJ / DEA web-site. The 3rd link is kind of lengthy but the key takeaway is the 50 dosage unit limit is combined so don't try to bring back 50 Xanies + 50 Zolpis etc.

I'm spending 3 nights in South Party Island so will go over to either Matamoros or Progresso for the day. Thinking Prog. Will be the safer option and I can walk around the Main Street and side streets again. Will be interesting if the Infierno bar still here and how it might be open for on-site session. In 2015 did see one decent chica but didn't pursue.

On google maps there is a red panty bar. Is this a "dine in" place or regular place?

This may be old news but this site gives good and real time wait info. There are 4 LRD crossings. Bridge I is closed (was yesterday too). The World Trade bridge was open yesterday but closed this evening. Yesterday it had good wait times.

If one is going to MTY and can make the times would the World trade bridge be the best option since it skirts around Nuevo LRD?

Thanks

ThanksBridge 1 and 2 are 24/7. Bridge 3 is 18-wheelers only. Bridge 4 aka Camino Columbia Bridge is "Laredo bypass to Monterrey" but since privately owned has operating hours, during non-Covid was like 6 am-11 pm daily may have reduced these hours until firther notice.

Bridge 2 mentioned earlier is pedestrians both ways and southbound only for vehicle traffic. And during Covid the vehicle traffic now has limited hours until further notice.

ThanksActually there are 4 crossings from Laredo into Mexico, bridge 1, into Mexico, has been closed for some time. One bridge is commercial only. So that, in reality, leaves but 2 crossings for automobile traffic into Mexico. Bridges 2 and 3. The vast majority of travelers, into Mexico, use bridge 2.

Bridge 3 is an alternative but you have to drive almost 20 miles to get to it. So there is no real time savings using it.

Thanks!Don't know about N.L. but saw loads of antibiotics on the shelves today in Nuevo Progreso.

I found my pills (Zolipidem) everywhere, bought maximum dosage unit 50, declared them and had no issues with USCBP. He asked if I have any more and I didn't so on my way. Tomorrow I may head down to Mata to buy some good muscle relaxers that also help me sleep.

Each city and municipality must be different. I can never find Zolpis or Xanax in Tijuana and don't think I found any in N.L. last October but I have bought Xanax in Juarez and saw an abundant also today in Nuevo Progreso.

Walking around Nuevo Progreso today of course got asked for regular massages walking down Ave. Benito Juarez. Most of the places were well lit and not looking like hanky panky places but a little further in some of the massage chair areas the lights were out but still open to the street. I like to ask the masajistas 'Que tipo de massage" and 'Donde"? One of them looked at me grinning like she knew what was on my mind but I didn't task her about a privado room which I think I saw further back in the store. Hey the worst that happens is ask her for a private room then inside inquire about a "rato" and she gets offended but this one looked like could be in on the action.

Also the one place I visited 5 years ago called the Inferno Club was shuttered and different name but saw on the sidewalk a nice sign for Vampiz Men's Club.

Just googled it and came across this interesting blog for those that can hunker down for the night there:

https://dispatches-from-the-mayan-empire.********.com/2018/06/xanax-vodka-and-beautiful-women-another.html

And walked by Red Panty bar. Saw a couple Gringos out front relaxing with beers and back into the building saw an open massage place. Hmmmm?

I followed guidance posted on here and other TX border cities threads, validated last week on USCBP web-site and even brought printouts in case there were any issues. Worse case if I provided the date time printed material direct from USCBP web-site and they tried to make it serious I would just surrender the control drogas for my personal use only and apologize for any inconvenience. But the agent was knowledged of the loophole and no issues.

Key:

1. Bring not more than 50 dosage units.

2. Must declare them and.

3. Only for your personal use.

This weekend when I don't have to get up on set time will try half of one 10 MG tablet. I Googled the Pharma manufacturer from India and complaints against them for making sugar pills ineffective etc. But could find not poisonings or deaths. There was another brand from MEX but couldn't purchase due to dosage unit limits. I try it next time.

That's cool. It's my understanding that you need to have a prescription with you anytime you are transporting a controlled substance. In that case, would the Mexican prescription suffice? That is not what it says here, direct from CPB page: If a USA Resident wants to bring in a controlled substance (other than narcotics such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, or LSD) but does not have a prescription for the substance issued by a USA -licensed practitioner (e. G. , physician, dentist, etc.) who is registered with, and authorized by, the Drug Enforcement Administration to prescribe the medication, the individual may not import more than 50 dosage units of the medication into the United States. If the USA Resident has a prescription for the controlled substance issued by a DEA registrant, more than 50 dosage units may be imported by that person, provided all other legal requirements are met..

Therefore: No USA Rx =50 units. USA Rx 50 units.

Don't know I can make it any clearer than that.

This is my experience from 3 weeks ago for what it is worth. I was diagnosed with tongue base cancer and needed to have tests done, biopsy, ect. My US doctor gave me some Xanax to calm me down. I decided while I was in Nuevo Laredo I would buy me some and hold them if if needed them in the future.

I stopped at the Generic Pharmacy next to Emillianos and inquired about them. I was told I needed to go to a regular pharmacy and need to see a doctor. I asked if they had a suggestion for one. The behind the counter took me out to the street and called a guy over. He told me he could get me whatever I needed or wanted.

We agreed on 90,2 MG Xanax. He asked me to write my name on a piece of paper. He said give him 10 minutes and he would be back with the pills and a prescription. He asked for no money. About 10 minutes later he returned with a sealed bottle and a prescription in my name. I paid him his asking price and crossed. The Mexican prescription was written as 1 pill 2 times a day for 45 days.

I declared I had prescription drugs at the booth and was sent to the secondary inspection table. They went through everything included my blood pressure medicines in US bottles from CVS. They said I could not bring that much Xanax back. I asked why.

They called over a supervisor. He looked it all over. The first thing he asked was if I had declared them of if they had found them. They told him I declared them. He said with the Mexican prescription I had, I could only bring 50 doses back. I thought we quick and said the prescription said two times a day for 45 days, so I had 45 daily doses. The supervisor looked at me and said have a nice day.

I think I just got lucky on that one, but the trick is to declare what you have and appear honest.

Be careful there is nothing around for about 15 miles each side of the border, so make sure you have gas. Probably better to cross before 10 pm, very dark there.

The law says 50 doses but they will allow 2 bottles of the 30 (2 MG) per bottle Farmapram brand. In Nuevo Progreso you can but those at any Farmacia without a prescription/receta for about 16 USD per bottle. The Mexican doctor prescription has no validity at the border, only a US doctors prescription is valid. Just declare them and you are always ok 50 pills or 2 - 30 pill bottles. Also if you take 2- 2 MG Xanax every day for 45 days that will be the longest sleep you ever took. Might be a good idea for December 1st every year. When you wake up all of that bullshit is over.

Lot's of it in West Africa, many pretty girls in Nigeria but that is a rough place to go. I would never recommend a trip to Nigeria that wasn't necessary. Many pretty girls in Abidjan, Ivory Coast between the civil wars but a little better than Nigeria. Douala, Cameroon has a nightlife scene that is unreal, bars and bars full of hot women but her language is French. My number 1 choice would be Ghana, English speaking, friendly people, lot's of hot girls. Fly into Accra and spend a few days, maybe check out the beaches in in which all of the beach bars / resorts will have many women there. After a few days there grab a short flight to Takoradi. There is a bar there called Vienna City that will be the highlight of your trip. Ghanaian people are friendly and the women love western men. Delta has direct flights there from Atlanta.

That's cool. It's my understanding that you need to have a prescription with you anytime you are transporting a controlled substance. In that case, would the Mexican prescription suffice?I always thought an Rx from MEX would be legal for U.S. but that thought process could actually get you in trouble thinking you bring more than 50 dosage units back.

Key is 50 or less dosage units no Rx needed if legally declare. And if a MEX Rx the same still not to exceed 50 dosage units. All this too only via land border. Loophole doesn't work if flying ANYWHERE even if from a boarder airport.

To bring back more than 50 dosages ONLY a U.S. Dr. Rx (DEA registered) will be legal.

Wouldn't it be great if could bring 50 dosage units of chicas LOL? Declare her at the border. if 2 pops per day then she gets 25 day Visa but only with you!

A concern with caution to bringing back your 50 dosages across the boarder is what if you then fly back somewhere in U.S. TSA or local police may not be as knowledgeable in this loophole and at a minimum could detain you and possibly file bogus legal getting on your record. If do this at least keep copies of your receipt from Mexico and date time printouts from USCBP to protect you.

But I am scared to go since I would stand out like a sore thumb. I know some people have the types of traveling jobs that allow them to visit those countries but my job does not allow me to travel.

I am satisfied with Monterrey for the foreseeable future. I know my way around there already and its cheap to get there. Monterrey is very dynamic and can uncover new places to get serviced if you like to explore.

Many white people there and a lot of white blood mixed in with the native people. The worse part is the long flight but not much longer than a flight to Brazil. Because it isn't really a monger destination it is still ripe for the pickings. Lot's of foreigners there in the oil industry and many westerners have decided to stay and live there. Almost zero women with the mechanical service like has become so common in the majority of the monger destinations. Always remember though everyone's experiences will always be different.

Lot's of foreigners there in the oil industry and many westerners have decided to stay and live there. Almost zero women with the mechanical service like has become so common in the majority of the monger destinations. Always remember though everyone's experiences will always be different. Thanks for the valuable information Beavis. Yes, I have been doing research on youtube for a few weeks and Ghana stands out as the great African place to go to on vacation or live permanently. Lots of african descendants from the western world have decided to move to Ghana and start modern businesses. I discovered lots of vegetarian restaurants in Accra which is great for me. Ghana has been noticeably attracting a lot of sex tourism. I would love to go visit as I hear lots of great things about Ghana. I did notice that the locals spoke lots of English there but didn't realize that English was a common language there.

The other destination I was looking into is Lagos Nigeria. That is where I would probably have a hard time since it's not an English speaking country and does not appear as hospitable as Ghana.

Yep, I understand. I have your been to MTY recently?Yes, I was in Monterrey about 1 month ago and had a really good time. However, it wasn't what is used to be before the pandemic. I noticed that the stress levels amongst a few of my regular girls went up due to the pandemic which affected there overall happiness. Some of the girls gained weight and some lost weight. I believe that I discovered a new brothel next to La Hacienda Hotel after I was walking on the other side of the street and I saw a police officer park his truck (which he had all to himself) and go inside a building where there were girls behind the door who appeared to be waiting for customers. So next time I am there, I will check that place out. Now I know that police also partake in this hobby even while in uniform. It's very under the radar. The prices at another high priced brothel, in front of La Hacienda Hotel, got cheaper while the quality of the girls remained the same (hot girls). I love Monterrey. It's the only real monger destination I know but from I can tell, it's pretty good there. I may travel further into Mexico in the future for a change of scenery. Since I am from Mexico, I don't feel like such a tourist when I visit.

Lagos is a rough place, every cop, immigration officer, customs agent, airport police, ect. Will extort money from you. I would never go to Nigeria alone. I always had an agent that would pick me up at the airport and still would get shaken down. I have been at a stoplight in a car with the agent's drivers and had Nigerian men come to the car and start beating it with boards. Trust me you don't want any part of Lagos. You won't get any kind of that treatment in Ghana. A white man can walk the street any time of day or night in Ghana. You would never do that anywhere in Nigeria.

Have you by any chance crossed the border from Ghana into Togo Africa? There is a popular youtuber names Andy HoboTraveler who has been to almost every country on earth and his all time favorite place to reside in is Togo Africa. I don't think that he participates in the sex scene much, however. He is very white and has no issues at all walking around there. He often speaks his mind and laughs a lot amongst the locals. Last time I heard of him, not to long ago, he was staying in Kpalime Togo Africa which is a town that borders Ghana. The local people that he catches on his youtube videos are really sweet. He likes to befriend pretty girls too.

I remember you talking about your mongering experiences in Tampico, Taumalipas many years ago. I know that Tamaulipas is a vacationing destination for people who live in Monterrey and probably the closest city to Monterrey that one could have a decent mongering experience. Can you please tell me what types of establishments are / were available there where one can find chicas, e. G. Teibols (Stip Clubs), Massages or Esteticas (Brothels) and / or a Zona De Tolerancia (Boys Town)? There appears to have been allot of violence there years ago and I over heard somewhere that the bus trip from Monterrey to Tampico can be somewhat dangerous. I would be willing to take the bus trip there some time in the foreseeable future. Is Tampico a place that one can also enjoy the plazas, mercados, and tourist areas? Is Tampico a conservative and family oriented city or is it more liberal like Monterrey where I can always have a good time by myself without anyone judging me? Thanks. I hope I am not over asking too much.

Tampico is a blast, some of the prettiest women in all of Mexico. Now that the major port has moved from Tampico to Altamira downtown has taken a hit. Find my old reports in the East Coast section and all you need is listed. Casas de Citas and plenty of strip clubs plus many women gathered in the streets in the area near the plaza. Never had any problems there at all.

...did you have any problem getting a tourist visa issued at Nuevo Laredo? It should not be a problem now. Mexico, at least the state of Tamulipas, has relaxed travel requirements. They no longer check people entering through Nuevo Laredo. The sanitation filters on bridge 1 and 2 have been removed. With those filters in place, they restricted how many could be in a vehicle, not allowing children to enter, etc. That is gone now.

The report in the newspaper was wrong, the sanitation filter on bridge 1 is still operational, you no longer have to sign in, but they are monitoring your temperature on entry. Have not been across bridge 2 to verify sanitation filter there is still there or not.

Crossed Wednesday night 11:30 pm, 2 hour wait Bridge 2. Finally tried Colombia Solidarity Crossing. Amazing no wait, Agent was cool, maybe took 2 minutes.

Be careful there is nothing around for about 15 miles each side of the border, so make sure you have gas. Probably better to cross before 10 pm, very dark there.Returned from MTY Tuesday night, Crossed again at Col. Sol. Crossing, again zero issues and no wait. So much better experience.

I can't remember how many millions or billions of dollars in merchandise cross the Rio Grande valley through Laredo Texas. I have been thinking about making a career change into truck driving at some point and it could be sooner rather than later. I just did a google search and the salary is between 30 k to 65 k with excellent benefits. There market seems to be a good for the truck driving industry right now.

I remember that at the height of Boys Town in Nuevo Laredo, there were a bunch of truck drivers that would cross into Nuevo Laredo for a good time. Is there still a truck driver presence in Nuevo Laredo or Laredo Texas? Is Truck driving a smart career choice for people who live in Laredo Texas? I have been thinking of moving to Laredo Texas as well.

Thanks,

The competition is fierce here, and rates are low. They visit Laredo because their route brings them here, but few actually work out of here. I believe it is what you make of it, but to make good money, you have to be on the road for a lot of miles, and get away from the border area.

My biggest concern is trying to sleep in a tractor truck that makes so much noise. I love my peace and quiet. I noticed that Werner and Swift have locations in Laredo Texas. If I could get on with them, I could be taken nation-wide and then come back home to Laredo after weeks of being on the road. I know that Laredo and Nuevo Laredo can be boring little cities at times, but that fits my personality. Trucking fits my personality as I value my privacy allot.

Zygo.I'm a driver. There money to be made but not to much in Laredo. It be near the bottom of the spectrum 40-50 k. First year will be 30k. Really isn't worth it for as much work / time you put into it. I moved up north and fly into Laredo to visit now. Up north hitting 80-120k with year or 2 experience or more isn't to difficult of a range for company drivers.

If your determined it this what I would suggest. Go to swift and get a year in on there dime. They get you your cdl. You need to out a year in for them. Don't fuck up it's easy to do your first year and you become worthless to other companies. 90 to 95% new drivers don't make it threw the first year either they screw up or just can't handle the job.

From there I'd move over to carter express right when you hit your year. You might be able to pull off 60k a year with them. And you end up in Laredo alot for time off.

I'd almost do Carter Express myself so I could get to Laredo more often but it too much of a hit in both pay and benefit for me to consider it. But they are not a bad outfit and a big step up from swift.

I am currently at a fork in the road in my career path. It's a big change from what I have been doing for the last 20 years. I currently live in San Antonio and the top Truck Driving school here is Road Masters which is owned by Werner. I am starting to take the practice tests on my phone until I get 100% of the answers correct, in hopes that it will minimize the amount of time I have to spend class. I know that Trucking is more of a lifestyle than a job, especially for OTR drivers.

As far as pay, I don't understand how a company up north can pay so much better than a company with a terminal at the southern border, if both have OTR drivers going across all 48 states. Are you regional or OTR? Would a Werner employee make more money just because he lives up north even if working the same routes as an employee living down south?

I am not really in it for the money. I just want to live comfortably while living a minimalist lifestyle. But I want to see the country and all the scenery. I am burned out on the current Covid situation which has allot of people live with restrictions. I am tired of high-stress office environments too. I think that the Trucking outdoors would be good for my health.

I miss Monterrey so much. I want to take another trip soon.

Since I know readers were worried about me here's how Laredo / international flying worked out.

Drive in thru big bridge, asked Mex agents about the FMM Migracion card in Aduana office. The agent referred me to the CITEV building.

Building is 24 hours but cards are only issued from 6 am-10 pm 7 days a week.

Woke up early, got back to building at 7 am, gave BS story about FMM for 3 days, gave me a free 7 day card. Issued in less than 10 minutes. Parked car with NL friend, took Taxi to Noreste bus station on Lopez De Lara slightly southwest of town, hourly departures to Monterrey.

Viva has restored the 100 p bus transfer from Autobus Centrale to MTY Airport (45 minute ride).

No one in MTY asked for FMM permit.

Flew to Quito EC with 1 h15 m transfer in Mexico City.

Moment of make or break did $0 land permit pay off?

Quito boarding gate staff asked me to give them permit to legally leave Mexico. Showed them permit stamped in Tamaulipas land entry for $0. She looked at it. Goose bumps moment! The suspense as she raises an eyebrow.

It was accepted as valid for leaving Mexico via air. Big sigh.

Saved $25 and boat loads of last minute headaches some transit passengers have fallen victim to timewise.

Hope this info can help others exploiting dirt cheap airfare to Central / South America via Monterrey.

On flight from Quito back to Mexico City, was issued a fresh 180 day permit. Say I'm supposed to cough it up when I leave for Laredo Texas but no one ever asks.

I'm just wondering how jacked up the greyhound crossing is.I've done that route both directions. When the bus crosses the bridge, it will glide across, then everyone hops off and collects their luggage from lower cargo hold and enters the main building. Mex side takes about 15 minutes, US side takes about 30 minutes. Then reboard bus. Mex side you get issued a 7 day permit.

Remember Greyhound of Monterrey their station is randomly north of the core of the city, no where near the Autobus Centrale. Either get Uber ready or take the nearby starting point of the Metro rail.

I was wondering if anyone from this board has mongered in Ciudad Juarez and if so, what are your thoughts? What makes Ciudad Juarez interesting to me is that 1) it is right across El Paso, TX and 2) Ciudad Juarez also adheres to the "Sala de Masajes" model that Monterrey uses to conduct it's vast P4P businesses successfully.I have not seen any reasonable airfare to El Paso from either Texas or California. San Antonio to El Paso is easily 8 hours each way.

There's already access to Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville, maybe Eagle Pass and Monterrey.

From SoCal, you're blowing past Tijuana and Nogales.

That's my two cents.

For someone who lives or is staying in El Paso for an extended period of time, are the Salas de Masajes in Ciudad Juarez worth the trip across the border from El Paso? Would you be able to tell me how their Salas de Masajes compare to the ones in Monterrey? Can you easily find the GFE and plenty hot girls in Ciudad Juares? Thanks!

Thanks!I only could do them one time in 2015 and my thoughts:

MPs / masajes spread out so getting to them takes some thought and planning. But once I arrived at one of them the chicas very hot and willing. Only downside was there were no beds, just uncomfortable tall massage tables. Maybe in the higher end places (I went mid-range) they have beds even if for a fee.

I was considering ELP / Juarez several weeks ago but airfare relatively to San Diego / Tijuana so much better and not willing to drive 8 horas from DAL. Plus COVID was and still is RAGING in ELP. Now that I have my passport I say I go to MTY but a flight to SAN / Tijuana already booked in January!

Hi guys, I will be in austin from 23rd Nov to 13th Dec and my wife will be giving me some free passes. I don't know when I will be closer to NL again in near life. A friend of mine gave me enough pointers on how to monger there but his joining with me is uncertain. So if anyone is there and willing to take me and another of my mongering friend will be super grateful. And if you ever want to monger in any city in India can help for anything.

Note: I can't speak Spanish. I have mongered at similar places in India (Sonagachi) with similar ambience and safety issues but that's my hometown so I feel confident there alone (even though I have seen mongering horror experiences myself and almost getting kidnapped and lost huge money in past). Mexico being first time I feel a bit scared. Also right now I will be on a tourist us visa. This is one of the prime checklist of my still noob mongering career.

Will be looking forward to pm from fellow mongerers to have me taste pure latina pussy.

As some of you know, I like the Spas but many had been shut down due to an increase in Covid-19 cases. Police can be seen patrolling streets where the closed Spas which are still trying to operate in secrecy are. I also had 2 really bad experiences with border patrol agents on the way back from MTY as part of of the group traveling by bus. Once, crossing back on bridge 1 and the other crossing the check point back into central Texas. The border patrol agent at bride 1 was doing some type of contact tracing even though they had not proven that any of us where actually sick with Covid-19. Plus, I was really mistreated at both checkpoints to say the least. I believe that border patrol reads this forum too. I heard on the news yesterday that Nuevo Laredo is once again close to non essential travel.

To Anyone Reading This.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I currently reside in Monterrey, Mexico. Retired military here and former Army BRAT (born, raised, and trained for those who don't know the acronym).

Been living and traveling throughout Mexico via 6 months visa-free.

I'm planning to do a border crossing via Nuevo Laredo to Laredo, Texas. Will spend a day or two there, then re-enter Nuevo Laredo, Mexico for another 6 months visa-free by border crossing.

All things considered, is the border in Nuevo Laredo allowing Americans visa-free entry, or should I just take a round-trip by flight?

Your info and advice is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your replies. Thanks & Happy Holidays 2020!

The key step you HAVE to do in this attempt is if you're not a Mexican national / holder of Mexico passport, before walking the bridge, find the Nuevo aduana / Citev building and hand return your tourist permit. Not doing this may result in getting the run around, possible fines when re-applying for a fresh 180 day Mexico permit. (You want to remain on their good side and have proof that you exited Mexico before going past the 180 day mark).

Everything else doesn't seem to be an issue.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I'm native-born California, former Army BRAT & retired Army going on 8 years. I'm currently renting a long-term Airbnb place until I save up enough money to apply for a long-term resident visa, at the same time, renew my driver's license in the near future. I'm learning and studying Spanish online via YouTube videos.

My 6 month visa-free stay expires on Christmas Day. I plan to do this "visa run" sometime early or mid-December. I've done visa-runs in the past throughout SE Asia.

When I said "all things considered", I did read the various posts and forums here about other's various adventures and experiences; good & bad. So, by arming myself with this knowledge and info, I can determine for myself whether or not to do a visa-run by foot, or do it safe by flight. Personally of course, I want to save money just like everyone else. However, due to the current global situation with the virus and pandemic, again "all things considered".

Again, thank you & have a great weekend!

My sincere apologies for the trouble. Do you know if Mexican Immigration at the Nuevo Laredo Border Crossing will grant me a 180 day visa-free pass, or only for 7 days? Purpose: non-essential travel (simply, I just want to continue my residence at my Airbnb apartment in Monterrey while living my day-to-day life). I'm not re-entering for mongering, etc. I'm just a simple Asian-American who's retired Army, living and traveling abroad (in my case, Mexico), learning and studying Spanish online, meeting new & different people, and enjoying life in peace.

My apologies for not being specific about wanting to return / re-enter for another 180 days.

With sincere gratitude. Again, thank you.

It is often confused with other drugs that have a very similar name. So be careful buying that here.

Tramadol is an opiate, so normally, a script is needed.

Hey all,

Thought ID write a quick report on my visit.

I crossed into NL walking the bridge, was 1 $. No lines goin to Mexico was fast AF. I asked the immigration people if I needed any documents or the FMM to visit NL. They said no as long as I stay in NL and don't leave to visit MTY or something.

I felt safe after crossing the bridge and in the main center area. I've been in far sketchier places and the Taxi drivers and hotel staff were saying there is currently peace. There were a lot of people out in the streets and shopping, dentists, pharmacies were plentiful.

I stayed at Hotel Colon Plaza. It was decent but at 85 $ night way too expensive. The food in their restaurant was average. I was able to walk to Starbucks but it was a 10 minute walk and it was after dark but around 7 or 8 pm. A lot of people in the Starbucks and that was the better area IMO. I think its a best western right across the street and that's where ID stay if I went again.

I finally hit pay dirt on SA and got a chica I been talking to for a couple months to come visit me in NL. She was sketched out before but once we got there it was actually pretty chill in NL.

Walking back over the bridge to US was ez, think it was 5 pesos. The line was a bit longer and it was mid week around 2 pm. Took about 40 minutes wait. No issues. I parked over by the outlets mall and it was 10 bux a day.

That's my story.

I think maybe far less powerful codeine may be include but not sure. The Zolpidem I brought back (there are two manufacturers) does not seem the same for me, makes me weird feeling the next day so I don't use it. Next trip down to N.L., Progreso or Mata. I will try the other brand. The Xanax they sell (Tafil) which I brought back from Juarez in 2015 and I saw in Progreso in Sept. is the real deal the same as USA However I no use it as much for sleeping cause makes me sluggish the next day.

I have no immediate plans to go down to MTY due to relocating from ATX to DAL the next month however appreciate the info. I was booked for SAN / Tijuana next month however cancelled due to primarily CA lock downs. I know the routine for SGs in Tijuana however I also like to enjoy HK regular bar / club and scared of the makeshift speakeasy. Also like to return to U.S. every evening and enjoy dinner and beers which now locked down. So I booked San Jose Costa Rica since now re-open, only 10PM curfew but day MPs open + chicas inside Castillo and Sportsmen's + chicas outside Sportsmen's waiting to get in you can lure away! I know well the San Jose scene and always enjoyed day hunting anyways versus Del Ray at night which is now closed 2 X (as a business switching to regular tourism even before COVID and 10 PM curfew).

When I lived in South Florida 12 years it was only C.R. and Colombia and never Mexico. But now in Texas I also have great MEX options when open and also CR and sometimes CO flights work out! It's all good and great to go somewhere.

I did take it one time from the airport in MTY to Laredo it was $100, with Uber. Good luck.I crossed over today. Taxi guy said about 2500 pesos. Luckily I hit my senda bus at 2 p and didn't have to wait till 330 p.

Df, if your in mty pm your number I can meet up with you during the day before I start plugging all these girls on my list. LOL.

On side note. I crossed ped bridge but nobody there would give me the fmm. They said I had to go to another bridge so I said fuk it and ran the gauntlet. Made it to mty without the feds boarding the bus at the checkpoint.

Anybody done some dumb shit like take cab from NL to mty? I lost my cabbies number so I can't ask how much. Anybody got a guess? Anybody want to recommend a cabby? If you PM me with details of your expected arrival time I can ask around. I do know some taxis that go to MTY, no idea what they charge nor the hours that they will consider traveling. Money is tight right now, so, out of necessity, some drivers may be willing to go that ordinarily wouldn't.

They are definitely checking T. Visa driving into Laredo now. They are getting stricter by the day. No time to play around if you are driving or taking the bus. They were turning away cars today that did not have the correct paperwork. I would have a Dr. Note as well moving forward.

Was planning a short trip down to NL this weekend when I saw some rumors on the internet that we may be looking at a military government in the US starting some time this week. Don't know how this is going to affect crossing the border, as they may try to keep certain people from escaping, but it's something to keep in mind.

Check it out here:

The part about "Peaceful Transition to Military Power" starts about halfway down, Stephanopoulos interview.

Day time is ok, but get your stuff done and get out.One of the girls that works in a bar in BT drove over to my hotel to see me last Saturday night. She was delayed by an hour due to a shootout near the airport. While in a taxi, I spotted at least 4 or 5 trucks with 50 cal machine guns on top. And they were not the soldiers. You also need to be wary of checkpoints that are manned by certain individuals that will rob you. This place is dangerous as hell.

Boner pills yes. Running the streets in Laredo is not a good idea. There are hardly any bars open downtown. There are bad boys all over the city fully armed. Action, should you choose to call it that, now is mainly in the street, within the first 3 or 4 blocks from the bridge. Most girls hang out around the old market, or within a block from there, at night. Malinche, Safari and Arizona are the open bars, and can get busy Friday and Saturday nights.

Great report, but this does not change how dangerous Laredo is, especially at night. Just not worth the risk. Can't deny that it is dangerous here. There have been some shooting going on, but that is so common it is almost considered normal. Usually happens when the fools attack the police or military, and get their asses shot off. At the present very little of what goes on now has to do with the power struggle between cartels. That could change at any time. Nuevo Laredo is a very lucrative port, both for legitimate and illegitimate trade. With Joe Biden's policies now in effect, the human smuggling rings are having field days, which makes drug smuggling easier.

I posted this in the Tijuana forum but it applies to all of Mexico. Bbond, I would love to hear your opinion on this.

This is something I have pondered for a decade and a half. I still have no concrete answer to solving it that I am willing to stand on. The issue is it is systemic, in not only the leaders of the government, but has filtered down to the every day employee (as I paraphrase Travv quoting Dugan Flanakin). My only idea to repairing it, there ain't no fixing it, is to go back to the earlier days when both sides had a "kinder, gentler, machine gun hand".

Ideas, suggestions, or a well thought out thesis would be wonderful. Ain't none of us going to be right, correct, or even know, until time plays it out. I guess I'm just wanting to know what your best thoughts on your best bet.

I know few people here that are, as far as I have seen, very honest and straight, would not steal a dime or take something that wasn't theirs.

I know many others that will take advantage of every opportunity presented them, and take what they can. But that is everywhere, not just Mexico. Mexico where law enforcement uses their authority to steal, I have even seen video of firemen and police ransacking cars after a fire or a crash and taking what they can. Corruption is so deep and wide spread, people have come to expect it. Over time, with increasing wages and living conditions that will improve, but it's going to take a very long time. It's so deep and wide spread, it is hard to even believe that a country, next door to the USA, could be so dirty.

Some people that lived in older wooden structures had their homes completely destroyed. The electric company reports 81% of city has power restored, and I know people without power and they just Thursday got water back. It is far from returning to normal, city is littered with trash and tree limbs, some very large power poles are still down. The electric company has crews from several nearby cities, including Monterrey, here to help. Bottled water is scarce to non existent, a friend tried to buy a generator in Laredo for his house in Nuevo Laredo, none were available. Even areas with power restored are experiencing power outages as they reroute and reconnect power lines that were damaged and temporarily repaired. Back to normal? Not hardly.

Only Jarachos was really open, and maybe three ladies total. There was a younger one outside at the place who was definitely on "something".

I saw maybe a couple other ones more who were more subtle, or perhaps I was just being optimistic and they weren't available at all.

No, was a shooting in the street, about 11 am, where I was, about a mile south of Holiday Inn Express Monterrey Tecnologico. Two cars took out one guy in another car, in traffic. Causing several wrecks and the death of the guy they were after. If you are familiar with that part of town, always a lot of traffic. Many fender benders and worse, people trying to avoid the shooting.Dam.. 11 am, them guys got started early in the day.

While I can't disagree totally with that, the only place I have been close to, and hid from, shooting, was in Monterrey. One point of clarification. I do feel Laredo is safe during the day and early evening, probably safer then most American Cities. At night, is a different story, you do have to be very careful.

Boystown is fully open. Although very slow during the week. It gets better Friday and Saturday. Sometimes I cruze thru Sunday morning its still almost full of cars.

Downtown is very slow also during the week. Picking up on weekends. Jarochos hasnt seen a large crowd since it reopened. The larger crowds were in malinche and safari.

Sad to say, the hotel and outcall in NL is pretty dismal. There are a few, but I haven't found anything I really liked.

BTW, I've lived in NL since 2001. I do think the shooting and violence is a little exaggerated. Not saying it doesn't happen. But in just over 20 years I have only seen personally one time.

I was eating at the applebees and shots were fired on the main street in front. The manager hurled all people in the restaurant back into the small area in the back for about 15 to 20 min.

I have heard of shots being fired in other place from different people quite a few times.

I just made a round trip a couple weeks ago, NL to Monterrey, then to Tampico. Then back to NL. I used the bus. Didn't see any problems. I was wanting to go back because I had made.

A lot of personal contacts, but this situation about the NL to Monterrey highway spooked me a little. But I read all the media in English and Spanish. It looks like right now, personal vehicles are.

Being carjacked on the free road. But still may be better for me to go to Reynosa then straight to tampico to avoid the highway for now.

If anyone elses knows any more about the highway situation please let me know.

Nuevo Laredo will maintain, at least for 15 more days, the restrictions imposed by the state government on Covid-19.

In the decree published yesterday in the Official State Newspaper, the current measures are extended, until at least July 31, among which are the sale of alcohol -in warehouses, supermarkets and convenience stores- allowed from Monday to Friday until 8:00 at night, on Saturdays until 3:00 in the afternoon and on Sundays as "Dry Law".

I am moving back to San Antonio Sept 1 and was wondering if you could give me the lowdown on what's happening over there in Nuevo Laredo. Heard there were several shootouts on the 9th with several dead. I have also heard that there are more bars open in La Zona. Do you recommend against going to the Zona for safety reasons at this time? How about even coming to the downtown area of Nuevo Laredo. Your candid opinions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Arrived super early in Nuevo Laredo at 9 am Wednesday morning. Drove up the the Citev building and walked into the left wing to obtain a 5 day FMM card. When digging thru my car trunk, found an old FMM card from months ago, and randomly thought of one time guard mentioned the card does need to be turned in.

Proof that I'm not hoarding them and trying to stay on their good side. You know. Diplomacy.

So to stay on their good side, appease USA-Mexico relations, walked up to desk and asked for 5 day permit and showed them an old card they could mark as returned and discard. Instead this happened.

Sir, this card expired April 3 it is now August 4. You overstayed your visit in Mexico! You have to pay the full 6 month price of 575 pesos before I can issue a replacement permit! Cash or card?

Neither, that's just trash. And I didn't over stay, I returned to Nuevo Laredo at 11:30 pm, your office was closed for the night. (Last I checked they're closed 10 pm-6 am).

He insisted the FMM services is 24/7, and we argued for a bit about show some hospitality and let me spend my visitor dollars in MTY and*not be scared off by BS fines.

After we came to conclusion that I wasn't paying the fine (he probably made up) he TOSSED my passport in my general direction told me to buzz off.

Chanced it went to Monterrey anyways. On eventual return trip to Nuevo Laredo, bus was boarded by Mex agent, was an older guy I pretended to sleep face turned away and he never bothered me and hopped back off bus.

MORAL: If entering / exiting via land, fewer headaches to just toss the FMM card.

QUESTION: Did they expand hours to 24/7 like he claims? Because if so,*am looking at a Mex flight would fly out of MTY 11 am so if there is late night FMM card night before in Nuevo that would be super helpful right about now.

Because I live in 1990-2000 prices and times. The good old days! It's the little things that add up plus the current state of the airline industry. I spent about $300 just getting there and back.

My direct 7:50 am flight was delayed 2 hours as soon as I passed security. I got a $4 coffee and sat at the unopened bar and thought about going back home and coming back later. I live about 20 minutes from ABIA but it's a $22-36 cab / Uber each way so decided to wait it out. Bar opens and get a message flight delayed again another hour. So I order a jack and coke for $11. As I'm finishing my drink my flight gets canceled. Get a message that my flight has been rebooked through Denver at 4 pm with a 2 hour layover there. Order another jack and coke because I'm fuming! Get hungry an eat an $11 dry sandwich. Get to Denver have two more drinks, not as expensive BTW. Finally get on my flight get to San Diego and take a $70 Uber to the border. Take a $5 cab to my hotel. Seems to be $5 no matter where you go. Uber is a little cheaper but difficult to book standing at the border. $2.50 Uber from hotel to the zona $5 cab back and be sure to confirm before getting into the cab, if not $7. Sure you can say FU and get out but he's going to want $2 for getting in. Coming back to the border crossing is completely unpredictable. Could be 30 minutes, could be 10 hours this 2.5, $60 to $70 to back to the airport, flight home is delayed by 3 hours. Another $11 sandwich and may as well have few drinks. $26 cab / Uber to get home. And sure there's a $5 trolley from San Diego and back but it's over an hour, you most likely have to stand the whole time, everyone is looking at you like they know what you're up to and after dealing with the airline and the line at the border plus your clothes still smell like the chicas at Hong Kong. The whole thing is a big pain in the ass. The chicas are unbelievable tho so.

I can live without alcohol for 8 hours if necessary. The trolley from San Diego to the border is $2. 50 and only takes 10-20 minutes longer than a cab.

What gets me is the prices going up even with COVID. It's the Mexican way that when customers leave and there is less money coming in you raise prices to make up the difference -- most people would think you'd reduce prices to encourage people to return. It makes some sense the way they do it -- the only people who are there now are the desperate ones who want pussy no matter the cost. But I can't get over how a $60 girl two years ago is insisting on $100 for 30 minutes now. With a room, tips, and buying her one drink, that's $140 for a half hour.

The room was clean and the air conditioner was cold. No issues about bringing in girls. BBond helped me out finding an agency. They had a girl there in less than an hour. She was a little older looking than her pics but close enough. Damage was $1500 for an hour. Later that night I walked around downtown. There were no issues finding ladies out and about. The prices ranged from $1000 to $500 per hour. I didn't feel threatened or nervous while I was walking around. Just stay aware and out in the open and it shouldn't be an issue. Until it is. The Federal police roll through occasionally and everyone kind of stands around waiting on them to leave. Saturday morning I checked out, got my $200 back, and was through customs within 30 minutes of leaving my hotel.

Might be going to MTY next week.

Just got a distress on WhatsApp. Either it's a new policy or a gringo buddy got shaken down for $25 the MEX govt doesn't deserve.

Maybe because he's Asian.

Effective Oct 2021 and or lame excuse: "due to concerns of Corona Virus, leisure travel to Mexico is temporarily suspended. Any foreigners traveling to Monterrey even if less than 6 days still need to pay for the $25 paid pass".

I personally had a near miss in September in Tijuana, and with that in mind prior to this WhatsApp buddy situation, was thinking just saying "essential dental work at clinic in Monterrey" and be as vague as possible.

True $25 is well within my spending budget but I don't believe in shakedowns.

He says they even showed him a sign stating Effective Oct 1 2021 until further notice.

Anyone?

I'm about to cross border at Laredo. Supposedly I should have no issue.

I bussed from Monterrey to Nuevo Laredo for 24 bucks roughly. I'd have been better off budding across the border but I didn't want to wait the extra 4 hours on the greyhound.

I'm just learning how it works. Trying cross with my passport only. I think I stated I would be here 14 days but I stayed 20. I'm not sure if it matters.

My larger issue is getting back to Tennessee. I went this way to scout the process so that I might return this way later. Flying would have been faster and at about the same price if I booked on time. But I didn't want a set departure date.

It works a little different than I thought but was easy. For a US citizen returning to the US, all I had to do was show passport and tourist permit. 3 checkpoints in total. 1 Mexico, One at the actual border, then another on the US side.

They didn't give me any trouble at all really.

From what I'm reading we can actually walk into Mexico the same way as long as we get the permit but I haven't tried it. I was interested in avoiding the flight.

Including many Americans.I have had two encounters of trouble in the many years I have been down there. The first one was in a popular bar downtown that has since closed where some local (bad guy) kicked me in the ass as I was headed towards the bano. He claimed I was looking at his girlfriend. I grabbed him by the collar and told him vete la verga pendejo and let's take it outside. I'm not backing down to your sorry ass. The bouncer and two waiters came over and broke it up. The waiter pulled me to the side and told me to let it go because this gentleman (ahole) was a rather high ranking dude in a certain organization. I immediately left. That was a stupid move on my part. Second incident was being pulled over in a taxi at a checkpoint right outside the zona by some very nice gentlemen. Luckily, they let us go and I didn't get robbed. So, take it for what it is worth.

You know I've heard the same thing. Then I saw this Mexican porn star that I follow on Instagram advertise she was coming to a club in Nuevo Laredo. I've never stopped there. I always go straight to Monterrey but after seeing her to a club there and seeing others in this chat go to Boystown I am now considering it. Even though I do not know where Boystown is at or the quality of women available. You need to just keep going to MTY. Laredo is fine during the day, but why play with fire.

Was in NL this weekend. NL is definitely not worth skipping past on Saturday nights. I was here for 2 weeks end of September as well. Centro has some very nice street girls hanging out all over every night. Defiantly plentiful any day of the week. Of course weekend is better. Tho I haven't taken part in that action it looks very tempting non the less. Boys town is alive on Saturdays. And while in September there wasn't to much that interested me. Plus I brought the girlfriend and one her friends with. So I already had guaranteed px2. I still found something else I wanted to try for side fun. This Saturday I was there As well. The selection got much better. Plenty variety for all tastes. I ended up having one best times there for a long time. One girl I spent most my time with was an absolute dream. Had me torn as there was a few more I wanted to take for a spin LOL. I also found a app called Didi it's pretty close to uber but you can just use cash. And almost half the cost of taxi not that NL taxi cost much. The cars are much nicer and drivers are younger and just want to finish the trip no hassle that comes with some taxis. Some areas where taxis are hard to get they work great instead of sitting around forever hoping a taxi happens to come by. Been using the app all weekend. Not a single problem with it or the drivers. As for NL being unsafe. I'm probably a perfect target. I take huge risks and put myself in some questionable situations. Yet none has taken advantage of it. I feel perfectly safe in main areas. And while some spots situations might not be perfectly safe. What laregeish city in US is perfectly safe in all areas. Fears of safety in NL is not a concern for me onky first few times years ago was I worried a little. Not anymore after seeing what it's really like. Also if you like juega juega. Its closed down again to my surprise as it was open back in September.

Has anyone got pricing for this area? I just traveled through last time. I had been over doing it in Monterrey.

I'm considering a short trip and wanted leads in massage places, walkers, or reasonably priced agency's.
