It's been a long time since I've been to BT, around 5 years since I last went. From reading the board it looks like things have changed a lot. I've been to BT about 10 times and across the border at least 20 times, but that was all more than 5 years ago. I always drove my own vehicle into Mexico and was never even stopped when driving in. I also always used to just drive into BT and just pay a guy a couple dollars to keep an eye on my car and then a couple more dollars when I was ready to leave. I was never stopped when entering BT and never was stopped for any kind of pat down either.
The only encounter with the policia was when I got turned around and got caught on a one way street going the wrong way, but $10 took care of that.
It sounds like I'm going to have to change what I've done before. Thinking that the next time I go, sometime this summer, I'll see about meeting up with some other guys wanting to visit and possible split some of the expenses. Sounds like it would be safer in numbers as there would be more eyes watching.

Regarding driving, I've had a house in NL for the past 13+ so I drive everywhere, ACCEPT to Boystown. When leaving Boystown, I would always turn left when leaving the entrance vs. Turning right to go down Anahuac, which seemed to greatly reduce the probability that I would get pulled over. However, these days, it just is not worth the risk.
Using this past Friday night as an example, I was out with another gringo friend who also has a house in NL. We taxied to and from BT. When the taxi got to the corner of Anahuac at Cesar Lopez de Lara when we were leaving, there were two cop cars with four private vehicles that appeared to be sorting things out after a small accident. Then, immediately after the taxi turned right towards the City Express Hotel there was a lineup up of six to eight cop cars backed up against the building with multiple private cars pulled over getting tickets. I assume this checking for DUI. Not a good thing and not worth the BS, even if you do not drink.

I agree. After swearing off of BT, I could not resist and found ways to work around the police at the entrance. First approach, park at the nearby gas station and walk in. More recent and second approach, stay at Colon Plaza (less than $50 for a posh room), take a taxi (approximately 40 pesos due to the close proximity to BT) to the gas station and walk in. My first stay at the hotel I walked to BT and took the taxi back. The BT cops never bother me when I walk into BT.
As for the exchange rate, I pay and speak only in pesos and assume a 10 to 1 rate. So, when a young 20 year old door girl wanted 1200 pesos for condomless full service, I saw her hot body and accepted. At a 13.5 rate at the time was approximately $89 to get me some fresh young meat. Since then, I have taken advantage of the lack of customers to get her down to 700 pesos which is closer to $52. You did not mention where you want to go on this late night bus run. Since most any bus traveling south out of NL is going to hit Monterrey, I'll assume you want to go in that direction. Grupo Senda has buses running every hour after midnight - http://portal.gruposenda.com/Senda/jsp/
Secondly, don't rely too much on what you see on many Mexican bus company websites. Their data is often outdated or incomplete. For example, the last several bus lines we took from NL to Monterrey didn't even indicate that they provided the service on their websites.
Also, don't forget your Mexican tourist pass. I don't think the Mexican immigration office at bridge 1 is open late night. So, if you can't get the paperwork completed and paid for before you hit the bridge, it's really a crap shoot as to if you will make it past the 20 mile check point without it when attempting to travel inland. I was pulled off the bus the one time I avoided getting it. Luckily I was able to pay quickly on the spot while the bus load of people waited.

Nice report. I too remember the good old days when Papagayo would have several lookers. I was there last Thursday night (which historically would be slower than Friday or Saturday) and there were I think 4 women there. None of which were to my standards. Note: Don't forget the Tamaulipas election is Sunday July 5th and ley seca (dry law -- bars and places that sell alcohol are closed for the election) will be in effect. In the past, the government has the bars close at midnight on Friday night and not reopen until Monday. At least in Nuevo Laredo and its boystown. Having made the mistake once of driving to Mexico only to find the bars closed all weekend I try to keep track when the elections are.
Sorry to report that the federal legislative elections are happening throughout Mexico on July 5th and so the ley seca is in effect nearly everywhere. The absolute hours of closure vary by state and city. In NL the bars will close Friday night/Saturday morning at 2am. In Piedras and Acuña it they will close as midnight Friday night/Saturday morning.
From what I've read in elmanana.com.mx the Nuevo Laredo downtown bars association are not happy about the dry laws. An article in zocalo.com.mx says the Piedras Negras chamber of commerce is upset as well. It is a double whammy when the bars are closed on the weekend (when bars make their money) of an election and that the election falls on an American holiday weekend. I would think that these business groups may find success in lifting these laws (or at least just having the election day -- Sunday -- be dry) given the economic need for cross border tourism.
A few years ago the Mexican Federal government changed the law to allow the individual states and municipalities to decide if they are going to have dry laws for elections. Most places kept the tradition alive. Baja California and the City of Tijuana have decided not to observe ley seca because of the economic hit. Also, tourist hotels in Cancun, PVR and other places are mostly exempt from these laws as well.

Bad for business turned out good for me. I was worried about bridge traffic due to the holiday but traffic was super-light due to "ley seca".

This is my first report so bear with me. I am a trucker, Monger along border when I can. I have been to Juarez, this was my first trip to Boys Town.
I got to Laredo Sunday morning, read report about election and Bars being closed, their are tour van drivers at the truck stops that take truckers cross border for aprx $15 to $25 round trip, with pharmacy stop. They usually start around 7pm and bring you back around midnight. The chatter on the CB radio was no trips because of the election.
I did not want that to stop me because I had plenty of time on my hands, ie no delivery till Monday at 8am, so I thought I would try to find a place to park near border, and go across and maybe get hotel down town and see if the free lancers were working. Just to kill time and I have been reading posts about the good down town action.
I could not find a decent truck route to border, even though some one gave me directions that sent me through so many no thru truck signs on Santa Maria, that I gave up and went back to a Truck Stop on Santa Maria just off I35 Exit 4, Gateway Truck Stop. Was thinking about catching ride to border from there, then noticed some p4p action walking around, slim latina.

Weekends are better in NLBT for certain. There are more girls working in the clubs and door girls during the week. Even without elections, Danash is closed Sunday-Wednesday nights. Our 10 point scales are calibrated differently as I've never seen anything above a 6 at Marthas or Tamyko (the Asian themed place you spoke of). So the the my 9 point Danash honeys might be a 12 or 13 on your ten point scale. Note Danash will cost a lot more money for a session and you will hear a knock after 30 minutes. The ugliest girl at Danash will settle for $100 and the superstars will want $130+. But to each his own, you found the second tier clubs have a good moderate priced selection, too. Danash is nice for having a drink and watching the strippers on the stage, if the prices are too high you can get worked up in Danash then go find a discount chica elsewhere.
I don't think you missed much at Shamrock. Sometimes there's a diamond in the rough there, but most time it is just rough. There's a club on the second street called Pullman that is the same way.
Sort of kitty corner to Marthas on the same street as Danash is Senoritas. It it stripper club that is a notch or two down from Danash. There can be cuties in there (and some not-so-cuties), they'll be less than Danash but more than Marthas/Tamyko. Also, on the main street next to Tamyko is 1-2-3. It reopened last year after being closed for years, but it has been closed on the past few weekends I've been down there.
Papagayo has been suffering from lack of girls for several months now. The club that if you read the archives here from years ago would have 50+ girls on the weekends had 12 girls when I was there the weekend before last. Frankly, it is a waste of time to visit these days. Many of the ex-papas girls work at Tamyko now.
Nice you got some action on the Texas side too. Just be careful of LE as there Laredo's finest like cracking down on hookers and johns. Seems like that's a common feature in the Laredo newspaper.

Overall, the compound is much slower now than it even a year ago. It isn't the heat, it is the economy. Mexicanos have less to spend on a night out and the Americano visitors are almost completely gone. Fewer customers means fewer girls.
Papagayo is nearly empty. Those days of 50+ chicas are long gone. Most I've seen recently there on a Friday night in prime time is maybe six. None of them are up to my standards. The owners spend a decent amount of coin on remodeling, but without women, there are no customers. Without customers no new women show up. I wouldn't be surprised if it closes soon.
Yes, Danash girls want and get $130. Lots of hot girls, you might finds some second stringers for under $130 but the top shelf chicas won't budge from $130. For Danash it is a seller's market as usual.
123 and Senoritas can be hit or miss. I've had some great times at Senoritas recently. 123 was closed for a few weeks but recently reopened. It still doesn't have the quantity and quality it had a few years ago. Most of the girls I've run into at Senoritas and 123 are local Nuevo Laredo girls.

Is it worth the drive? Well, I still make it down there from time to time and keep coming back. The first thing is with the exchange rate as it is you should be paying in pesos. It is like getting a 25% discount on most goods and services (except chicas usually) in the compound. A $3 beer is 30 pesos. 30 pesos today is $2.25. A chica drink at Senoritas is $8 or 80 pesos (about $6).
The room fee is the same 200 pesos (or if you prefer to pay in dollars $20 but I like paying 200 pesos which is about $15 at todays exchange rate) for a half hour at these places. I'm not aware of any place that will give you a volume discount. Remember, the house is making that money and your only other option if you want one of their girls is to pay them t or heir rate pay an even higher salida fee for a TLN (I haven't asked in years in NLBT as I prefer to do my business onsite). So three girls is 600 pesos or $60. At some bars in the border zones along the border will include the room fee in the girl's price quote. I usually always think of the net cost myself...if I girl is 800 and I need 200 for the room I'll see that as a 1000 transaction.
I can't personally vouch for the prices of the chicas or rooms at 123 as I haven't seen a chica that I'd want to go upstairs with. But I've been told the prices at 123 are similar to Senoritas. Last night there were some lookers at 123 but they had the music so loud it was causing my ears to hurt so I didn't stick around (I had the same problem at Danash the DJs had the music up to 11. I don't mind 10 but when the ears start ringing it makes sticking around free)

As I mentioned above, I was in NLBT last night. In my few taxi rides I asked the drivers about boystown being slow. They pretty much affirmed it was the economy. Guys (local Mexicans -- the bread and butter of the compound) don't have extra money for a night on the town so they are staying home. And there are not nearly as many gringos. They asked me what I told them it was the same: poor economy but in addition Americans may be afraid of the new stories about the narcotraficantes and I also told them about stories of Americans getting ripped off by police at the gate. The taxi drivers pretty much said the cops are thieves and you need to be careful. One driver was pretty adamant about how bad they were and hoped the federal cops would come back for providing security. As usual, I didn't have a problem at the gate but the cops pretty much recognize me now.
I didn't even go to Papagayo as there were only about 4 cars in the parking lot. I stopped in at 123 for a few minutes but left after the music made my ears ring. There were a few possibilities but mostly skanks. Danash was doing pretty well. The girl I wanted was on another guy's lap and the music was too loud. So I went to Senoritas for one of my favorites. On the way back to the taxi stand I stopped by Tamyko and it was dead. There were a few ex-Papagayo women in there but nothing I liked. I hadn't been inside there in about 5 years. Probably won't go back to Tamyko until 2014.

I was back at the compound again last Thursday night for some fun. As my earlier reports indicate, business is pretty slow in NLBT. Thursdays are usually slower than Friday or Saturday but there's still lots to be had compared to Monday-Wednesday when it is quiet and some bars like Danash will actually be closed.
I hit the compound about 11pm. As usual, I was asked to get out of the taxi at the cop shop at the gate. I received a light pat down and the cop asked me where I was from and what I did for work. Although some mongers have been robbed by the local cops, I've managed to avoid any problems.
I had the taxi drop me in front of Danash and I said hello to Oscar the manager and then went inside. It wasn't packed but it there were several high-quality chicas around. Most were with customers already but a few were available. I was waiting for a hottie named Soraya to make herself available or at least get on the stage but it looked like she was with the well-to-do Mexicano for the duration.
After finishing my beer I went over to Señoritas. It was pretty slow and the chicas outnumbered the customers which is exactly how I like it. There are big girls, petite girls, lighter skinned, morenas. They usually sit in the dark near the entrance and it is hard to see. I bring this up since this means you might encounter more of the red light when walking or driving into the bridge. I also noticed a brand new shiny giant luggage x-ray machine in the station. When I was there, it was still business as usual where I just walked in.

The rooms @ senoritas do suck. One of the rooms that the girls live in is actually quite nice relatively. The other rooms not so much. The cleanest room I've seen was on the second floor to the far left. It was very clean but the AC didn't work (a brick building baking in the summer sun all day was still about 95 degrees at midnight) which was a deal killer and I had them give us another room (they actually kicked two girls out of their room so the girl I was with and I could use the bed). I'll try and ignore the crappy rooms since I'm there for the girl. For the 30 minutes I can tolerate anything as long as the AC is working.
Speaking of no AC, in the past I've asked the mesero at 123 to turn on the AC. The past few times I've been in there though the music was too loud that it was distorted and hurt my ears and I didn't see any talent I liked so I just left before the stifling heat became an issue. The AC are wall units along the right hand side of the place when you walk in.
It is a shame about Papagayo because they had the best rooms and gave out fresh towels each time. I was in Tijuana last weekend and those rooms are like the Four Seasons compared to what we have to deal with in NLBT.

I used to stay regularly in "the green building", the 2 story building on the second street close to the vacant lot. Very basic but some rooms do have A/C, and are comfortable.

Ours is the only "clean" place that I know of on the last street (Gold Palace, Kikas, ) that is 'livable' by any standards. We also have a 'suite' of sorts that we will rent out on semi longterm terms for 100 bucks a week. I mean if you're interested you could drop by and who ever is there, might be Lorena, will show you a couple of rooms to see if you'd like it there."
What"s up with your place? I went there in Junuary and Lorena told me they were not renting rooms.

getting to laredo and back: lots of dps troopers on i35 from about the rest area south of sa until the 75mph speed limit kicks in. a lot more troopers working both lanes in this stretch of road when i was driving down there on thursday night and back friday morning. not sure if it is because it was pre-labor day weekend or something else. not a good place to make up some time.
as my earlier reports indicate, i'll buy pesos at the casa de cambio at 35 and the street you take to bridge #1. the rate was 12.90. on the nuevo laredo side i saw it as high as 12.97. you can save money on taxis, drinks and room fees in the compound. the bar girls are a little more aware of the exchange rate and usually won't go with the informal 10:1 rate you can get for beer and room fees. i don't do door girls but i believe they're more likely to accept 10:1.
boystown. i got to the compound around 1120pm. as expected, i had to get out of the taxi and get patted down, asked where i worked and where i was from. asked me if i had drugs or weapons. he took my wallet out and had me show him there was no contraband inside (i keep a few dollars/pesos business cards and my driver's license in there). as always with me he was polite, courteous and didn't steal anything.
i had the taxi drop me off at danash. while driving back to danash i saw 123, marthas and tamkyo had people outside but i didn't bother. danash had about 12 chicas there were just my type. i hung out for a beer and took in a few of the dancers on the stage. i decided to swing over to senoritas to see how business was there and to see my favorita. there were 3 customers including me and about 12 or so girls including my favorite. there were a few other hot numbers that would have worked if my favorita wasn't there. i alway like options! after a drink with my amiga we went to the room to try out the new condoms. as usual, a great session.
afterwards i head back to danash to have another beer and take in the show. what was nice is they had the ac on at max which is unusual and i felt like i was in the us. the waiter -- who used to work at papagayo back in the day -- brought my current danash favorita around for me a and a few minutes later i was upstairs going at it with her. great session as well and i was pleased with the crown condom i used.
i walked down toward papagayo and noticed that tamkyo and marthas were already closed (it was probably about 1am or so). 123 was open and there was a cutie outside trying to convince me to inside. since i needed to relax i told her i'd come back.
papagayo was completely dead. five girls -- none of which i found doable -- and only me and two other customers. they've gotten rid of the pool table. but it was a morgue. i had a topo chico and left. i was surprised unlike the other bars in boystown, they wanted $3us or 40 pesos. most places keep the drink and room fees on the 10:1 ratio. so no peso discount at papagayo. yet another reason not to come back.
i decided to go back to senoritas and possibly see my favorita again or at least go back to 10:1 pricing and chill. my favorita pounces on my shortly after i sit down and with her hands in my pants brings my tired verga back to like. there's lots more people in the bar. papagayo and danash get much busier after the bars in downtown nuevo laredo close at 2am. we go back to her room for round two which was pretty nice but pretty wore me out.
as we walked back inside the bar from the room it was sort of surreal. eric clapton's cocaine was playing and the bar was packed with people and very smokey. as i walked to the front door and the "she don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie... cocaine" line comes across i wonder just how many people in the bar -- and nlbt as well -- are directly or indirectly in the drug business.

Ours is the only "clean" place that I know of on the last street (Gold Palace, Kikas, ) that is 'livable' by any standards. We also have a 'suite' of sorts that we will rent out on semi longterm terms for 100 bucks a week. I mean if you're interested you could drop by and who ever is there, might be Lorena, will show you a couple of rooms to see if you'd like it there."
What"s up with your place? I went there in Junuary and Lorena told me they were not renting rooms.We moved to a new location, first bar at the entrance, right in front of the cop station. We have rooms there, but they are being refurbished as they are not in good condition. I'm not working at the new Tres Reyes right now as I have taken on a new endeavour in Laredo. I want to be able to crash in BT to avoid the hassle at the Bridge but the places I know of are real sh!t holes.
I used to stay regularly in "the green building", the 2 story building on the second street close to the vacant lot. Very basic but some rooms do have A/C, and are comfortable.I Believe that is the Marabu, if I am correct. I'll check it out, I've also heard ok stuff about the Gold Palace.

You guys talking about room rates, I don't know if you ever considered this option but when I want to stay all night in BT, the bar with the big red star on the roof (middle street, back corner) gives me a decent room with AC, towels, TP and such for $20 for 12 hours. I'll go get one of those and then come and go as I please, party at the bar down the street where they have dollar beers and pull girls from the street to bring back to my room. May not be your style but it's not a bad deal. Plus they have a switch by the door that you can flip and a bartender will come take your order for "room service".
I believe the "Green Building" is known as Cuartos Mexico.....On the middle street next to vacant lot where drugs are openly sold.
I know guys that have stayed in the Star Bar's rooms and they all say the "Green Building" is better, and at $25 for 24 hours, cheaper too.

I usually go back and forth between Senoritas and Danash and a few times there've been "girls" that try to talk to me in front of Eros but I've never approached them or gone inside to validate these are actual chicas or if they're ladyboys. I usually have my hands full between the 100% chicas in Danash and Senoritas to keep occupied.

This is not something new, they been pulling that shit off and on now for quite sometime, you just never know, that why I don't go there very often.
Every phone I've had forever has had a camera on it and the cops never ever say anything about it. Photography is still a no no , but don't worry about the phone having a camera.
Bbond, that is some serious multa they paid for the old planted knife scam. I would not advise anyone driving their own car into the compound. The $20 round trip in the taxi is far better than 10K pesos. Especially newbies. The cops tend to be able to smell a newbie from the moment he crosses the bridge. Even if you've never been there before in your life, you have to act like you're down there at least once a week (read every report from the past 18 months to know what to expect). They're going to ask you where you're from and what you do for work. And pretty much if you don't speak spanish they'll size you up for a extracting a bribe. Not all cops are dirty, but many of them working the gate are.
Hide your money in a money belt or your shoes (only when you're in deep do do like the guys Bbond is talking about will their search get to the point of looking in your shoes).

In any case most of my money was hidden and they didn't find it. They played with my cell phone for at least 30 seconds, I guess cause it's a new fancy one. They kept asking if it was my first time (in Spanish) and I kept saying no, I'd been there a few times. After that stressful encounter I was on my way.
I stopped first in Senoritas and found the girl from last time. Unlike Danash, it appears the girls have their own rooms that they do not share, and so the club gets the $20 but the girl has to do any cleaning - which it looks like they do not excel at. Also unlike Danash, no one came to knock at the door after 30 minutes. I get along with this girl now, and she gave me lots of extra time, no extra charge. $100 + $20 Nice. Club was not especially busy at 1 AM.
Then it was onto Danash. My favs are all gone now, so it was time to make some new friends. There were several possibilities, and I bought a copa for one and then took her upstairs. She was also $100 + $20 without any haggling, but strict time limits enforced. She was really nice and very flexible, so I pretzeled her. I came downstairs very happy with the experience. That was about 2 AM and the club was very busy.
I stopped in 123 quick, but just a few girls were visible. A couple of them looked good, but no stunners. They offered me a free tequila to stay, but the club was fairly empty and I was done in any case.

I'm glad to hear you didn't get robbed when they took you into the office. They seem to be going through a phase again where they're being real dicks and that's bad for business. I ran into a monger in the bathroom at Danash a while back and when the police started to pull that crap with him, he told his buddy who had been let go by the cops to go tell Oscar at Danash. After hearing that, I've made it a point to tell the police that I'm on my way to Danash (usually after I tell them where I'm from and where I work and before I tell them I've been there several times and do not have a knife or drugs). Don't know if it helps, but I've never been taken into the office.
Even if you don't get hassled next time, tell Oscar at Danash about it and it might help. I say "might" since you never know.

My point was that dropping his name was enough for the cops to let the guy go. My theory has always been the cops prey mostly on the newbies, the drunk or those appearing like they aren't regulars. The newbie gringos are the easier to steal from. Those that have been there more times that we can count aren't so easy and know the score and the scam. That, at least, is why I think they haven't hassled me and often wave me through w/o having to get out of the car on the same nights where we read reports of people getting hauled into the office for a severe shakedown.
As much as I'd like to hit it with my favorita at Senoritas once more before I move to the west coast, I can't make it down there this weekend. The girls in Tijuana will need to console me next weekend.

They'll ask you where you were born and look up something on the computer and then let you through. If you have a copy of your birth certificate (as well as your license) they won't even do that. I went ahead and got my passport anyway just in case they finally decide to start enforcing it but they're not doing it yet.

I am a Mexican citizen and my son is a US citizen born in Houston, Texas of a Salvadorian mom. Both of us (mom and myself) were living legally in Houston at the time of his birth. My ex wife and I seperated when my son was 2 years old. He is now 21 years old. I had not seen him since she took him to El Salvador at the age of 2.
I got a call from my ex Sister-in-Law in May telling me that my son was in Houston and wanted to meet me. We made arrangements for my S-I-L and her husband to bring Jr. To meet me in Nuevo Laredo. We have traveled throughout Mexico since May.
On Sunday Sept. 13 Jr. And myself spent the night in Nuevo Laredo and were to drive to Houston on Monday the 14th. When we got to inspection at bridge #1 about 9:00am, Jr. Could not find his passport. We were sent to inspection. All of our possession were gone through, still no passport.
Jr. Did have in his possession his Texas Birth Certificate and both a valid Texas DL and a valid state of New York ID.
Jr. Was not allowed to enter back into the US with these documents. We were referred to the US Consulates office in Nuevo Laredo.
On Tuesday Sept. 15 we went to the Consulates office and were told to return on the 17th, which we did, explained out situation to a very unsympathetic US Govt employee. They would see what they could do.
Finally on Monday Sept. 28 Jr. Got a replacement passport and he was finally allowed to return to Houston. We made 6 visits to the Consulates office between 15th and 28th. We encountered 3 other people that had the problem of entering Mexico and trying to return home without a passport.
One elderly lady told us that she had told both the border agent at bridge #2 and the consulates office that she was unaware of the new law of requiring a passport to re-enter the US. She told us that both told her that "ignorance of the law is no excuse".
I do not know that this is a regular occurance on the part of the Border Agents nor how often it has happened, but can tell you that it happened to Jr. And at least three other people since the middle of September.
It is true that they can not keep you from re-entering the US without a passport. But I would hate to think of what might have happened if Jr. Had not even had a passport to begin with.
Just the unpleasantness of being sent inside is enough for me to reply to this post.
If I was a US citizan and did not have a US Passport, I personally would not even consider making the trip to Nuevo Laredo.

I am a Mexican citizen and my son is a US citizen born in Houston, Texas of a Salvadorian mom. Both of us (mom and myself) were living legally in Houston at the time of his birth. My ex wife and I seperated when my son was 2 years old. He is now 21 years old. I had not seen him since she took him to El Salvador at the age of 2.
I got a call from my ex Sister-in-Law in May telling me that my son was in Houston and wanted to meet me. We made arrangements for my S-I-L and her husband to bring Jr. To meet me in Nuevo Laredo. We have traveled throughout Mexico since May.
On Sunday Sept. 13 Jr. And myself spent the night in Nuevo Laredo and were to drive to Houston on Monday the 14th. When we got to inspection at bridge #1 about 9:00am, Jr. Could not find his passport. We were sent to inspection. All of our possession were gone through, still no passport.
Jr. Did have in his possession his Texas Birth Certificate and both a valid Texas DL and a valid state of New York ID.
Jr. Was not allowed to enter back into the US with these documents. We were referred to the US Consulates office in Nuevo Laredo.
On Tuesday Sept. 15 we went to the Consulates office and were told to return on the 17th, which we did, explained out situation to a very unsympathetic US Govt employee. They would see what they could do.
Finally on Monday Sept. 28 Jr. Got a replacement passport and he was finally allowed to return to Houston. We made 6 visits to the Consulates office between 15th and 28th. We encountered 3 other people that had the problem of entering Mexico and trying to return home without a passport.
One elderly lady told us that she had told both the border agent at bridge #2 and the consulates office that she was unaware of the new law of requiring a passport to re-enter the US. She told us that both told her that "ignorance of the law is no excuse".
I do not know that this is a regular occurance on the part of the Border Agents nor how often it has happened, but can tell you that it happened to Jr. And at least three other people since the middle of September.
It is true that they can not keep you from re-entering the US without a passport. But I would hate to think of what might have happened if Jr. Had not even had a passport to begin with.
Just the unpleasantness of being sent inside is enough for me to reply to this post.
If I was a US citizan and did not have a US Passport, I personally would not even consider making the trip to Nuevo Laredo.
I would imagine that the fact that you and your son look and sound Mexican had everything to do with the hassle you got.The person in question is my nephew. Neither he nor his father look nor sound Mexican. In fact if you saw them or spoke to them, you could easily mistake them for big, white rednecks from Tennessee or Mississippi or South Carolina or. Both white as lillies and if anything New York accents.

This is my second report, and second trip to BTNL. I am a truck driver, had delivery Laredo, so put BT on my down time list. I enjoyed this trip better.
First stop, trucker shuttle parks at club Marthas. Had a drink there, flirted with one girl, bought one or two drinks and left that dog house. Couple of cuties, but if my ride did not stop there, would not go.

If you liked the Shamrock girls, you really need to find a way to Nuevo Laredo on a Thursday or Friday. Danash is open on Saturdays, too, but it isn't as good as Friday. I crossed over to NL Sunday 11/8.
There was 14 guys with me in shuttle van.
Few had Passports, I have Passport card.
Coming back all got thru with just a license if that is all they had, but one.
If you do not have a Passport it helps to show birth certificate and license.
*They told my Wingman who only had a license, that he was warned, they would not let him in next time without passport. Yeah right.
*The one guy who did not get back in with us, was on probation, they ran his ID and held him. Bad move, his fault. I do not know how his story ended.
*The shuttle I use picks truckers up at truck stops I35 Exit 13. Leave 7pm, return after midnight. $25. 7 days a week. Told by driver/american guide, 90% of guys only have a license and mr. Parole is the only one we have heard of not getting back. Sometimes agents give more verbal static, but let you in. Same at El Paso when I was going there often. One day they might tell you, you need to get Passport, The next day they just pass you thru. The shuttles are over there right now, and they will make it back.

The long time owner La Patrona Ofelia died back in 2007 at age 84. Ofelia's two granddaughters and the husband of one of the granddaughters now own and run Papa's.
Papagayo's does not have the Gringo clientel they used to have, which brought lot's of chicas to work there. Now with very few customers, there are very few chicas. The over senastionalized Drug Cartel violence in the USA News has scared the Gringos off from coming to NLBT/Papagayos.
And the Pinche Pendejo NLBT Policia pulling their random stunts ie planting a knife. Stealing your money while searching you for drugs & weapons, also makes their mordida/bribe victims not want to return to NLBT. It's Russian Roulette with the NLBT Policia every time you go to NLBT now. You never know when they will be ok/cool or aggressive Pinche Pendejo Cabron Rateros looking to rip you off for a mordida/briB.

I agree. I stumbled upon the party to celebrate 16 of September and it was totally lame. It was a Friday night and only 10 women and a small number of guys were there. NLBT don't close, it's 24/7, taxis available at all hours, but if there is a lot of people you may have to wait a bit for one.
Border crosing is also 24/7, no problem to walk to buses in Laredo.

I will start with information about getting a passport for anyone interested. I got a passport book and card in 3 weeks. I paid for the regular service but had to apply in person since it was my first passport. It takes about 30 minutes to apply and they asked me where I was going and my current job. I can now leave and I did not bother to count my money before leaving. Most unpleasant cop check I have ever had. I used to brush off the other reports about cops but this episode has me think about my future in Boystown. I don't think they took any money though. Still, it was very unpleasant.
From cop headquarters I headed toward Danash. Danash is by far the best place I went but full service is out of my price range. I ordered Corona at 3 dollars a bottle and started the night off with a 10 dollar lady drink for the girl they brought over. But here are my experiences
I took a 5 day trip, 2 days travel and 3 days mongering
Cost to get there and back in gas $120 + $120 = $240
3 nights at hotel fiesta at $32 = $ 96
I went to boys town 3 times (once per day) 200 pesos for the taxi
100 pesos each way = 600 pesos = $46
Total cost = $ 382
Tip. Do all your negotiations and payments in pesos with a 13 to 1 exchange rate
You save as all those you deal with convert at a 10 to one rate
So if you spend $100 at a 10 to 1 rate that is 1000 pesos, but if you use pesos only 1000 pesos will cost you $ 77 that's a great savings
Negotiations with the girls are easy. Not at all like the local crack addicts we deal with locally
Most will open with $40, counter this with 300 pesos ($23) for suckee, fuckee, sin ropa and multiple positions. And she will go for it
Yes $23 for all the fun you can handle I had anal with some for the same amount
Boys town is open all day and night, but there is very little going on during the day there
So I would advise staying downtown. Just more to do during the day
But there are door girls available 24/7 in boys town and I found it a easy way to get some action during the day. Now the girls will ask you to buy them a drink (feature drink), this is going to cost you $2. 50 and the drink is half the size of yours. The girl gets 20 pesos for each drink $1. 52.
The girl will then hang around you and on top of you for as long as you are buying her feature drinks. The miniature beer is covered with a napkin and is a dark brown bottle so you have no way of knowing what the level of the drink is when the next one is ordered.
There is also a specific hand signal for a feature drink and a feature drink with water in it.
Girls will sell / buy as many as 80 of there drinks in an evening.
So do the math. 80 half size drinks = 40 regular drinks in a girl that weighs a quarter of what you weigh and she is not drunk?
Now not all the girls that will get you to buy them drinks will go to your room with you.
Many are married or in relationships and are only there to earn money sitting on your lap and drinking feature beers / water.
So I would avoid this and simply ask them upfront lets go to the room. If they will you are on your way, or drink till you are ready to go and then select the one you want and pop the question and negotiate for the service and price you need.
Apart from the 3 clubs there are also 2 hooker hotels with hookers in the doorway.
So there are possibilities everywhere you look.
The only thing that pissed me off with the trip was the constant begging for money from every deadbeat in town. As a gringo / American / white I was seen as having lots of money and all wanted a part of it.

Great report. It really is too bad about the police stepping up their assholery. I didn't mind the cursory searches from a while ago. I live in California now so Tijuana is my new stomping grounds and I don't miss the hassle of getting into the NLBT compound. But I will probably make it back their eventually.
The Japanese styled place is called Tamyko. A lot of the women that used to work at Papagayo are working their now. I've never seen anything I like in there. Senoritas and Danash with a trip to Pullman and 123 to see if there's something I've missed was my normal routine.
You can always count on Danash to have great talent. Senoritas, 123, Pullman and Shamrock can be hit or miss. Mostly miss in my opinion.

Seriously, it really is sad what has happened to NLBT. It is as if the police are purposely trying to put it out of business. With the exception of Papagayo, those bars can do just fine without visitors from the estados unidos de gringolandia. And several bars and girls liked the few of us that still would go to the compound. I've been thinking about going back to NLBT then next time I'm in Texas (or even taking the bus up from MTY when I'm there next) but I don't need to deal with that shit (even though over the years with all of the problems mongers run into with the police in NLBT, I went hundreds of times w/o a problem).

I have my regulars, and I caution everyone about going to NLBT, in personal vehicles or by taxi, the risk is always present. Personally I won't go, it is just not worth it to me. If the policia decide, for whatever reason, to target you, you're done for, they can plant knives, drugs or anything that is contraband in your car or taxi. The Intimo never missed a beat, open normal hours during the holidays.
The Herradura and Montera both closed Christmas eve at 8pm and reopened the day after Christmas.
The Montera closed Dec 31 at 8 pm and reopened Jan 2, normal hours.

Jan 2 was a lot better Montera, Herradura, and Intimo were overflowing at times.
I took the truck stop van to boystown last Wed (1/20) nite and had a great time. Both vans are red (Doc is the Dodge, and Moonshine has a Ford) Park in the auto area of the truck stop and just walk over and say hello. They will be delighted to answer any questions you have.
The charge is $25 round trip and they leave the area around 6:45. 7:00 pm for Boystown and return at 12:00-12:30 am. This was plenty of time for me to scout the area and do 2 senoritas. (details to follow)
I went with Doc who has been doing this about 15 years. He is a good guy and has the whole thing wired. After a short pharmacy stop you pull into boystown and Doc just waves at the cops-doesn't even stop.
Both van operators park in a gated courtyard in back of Martha's bar (home base). Doc will give you a guided walking tour if you like. He sincerely wants you to be safe, comfortable and to have a good time.
Note that both van operators will drop you downtown (and pick you up days later) and Doc (and I'm sure Moonshine also) will help you with hotel and any other hook ups you might require. He is experienced and a wealth of information.
On the return they will put you in a cab from boystown and drop you at the bridge entrance. You walk across and the van meets you at the 2nd stop lite on the US side (short walk) for the ride back to the truck stops. They will explain the "why" of this procedure and you'll understand. I mention it so you don't think you are being abandoned or hustled. Our group of 8 had no problem returning with just driver licenses.
My take on the boystown experience:
You will be entering through Martha's bar and they are ready for you with at least enough girls for the incoming vans. There is no obligation, but you will have to walk through and you will be greeted somewhat agressively by the girls. I'm experienced and speak intermediate spanish so I knew to keep moving but as it happened, I was grabbed by the best looking girl in the bar (IMHO) and she got my attention so I sat and bought her a $5 drink. However during the interview in spanish she wouldn't DFK or BBBJ only condom BJ. I insist on both at minimum so I left to explore the rest of boystown.
Next door is Tamyko, a more low key low pressure place and I bought another drink for an older girl with a great body and just ok face. She had the right attitude and eventually became my the best of my 2 trips to the plate.
I left Tamyko and went down the line to 123 (no girls at about 8:30pm) and then around the corner to Shamrock where I was again approached by a stunner. She failed the interview so I kept walking to the door girls section. On Wed nite about 1/4 of the rooms had girls and there were 3 or 4 prime candidates, but again, no kissing, condom only etc.
I went back to Tamyko and took Ms. Good attitude and she delivered as promised, a very good session.
Next, on to Danash. This is a high class strip club with the best talent in boystown I think. I really liked this club. I had 3 beers there, beer nuts included, sat in an over stuffed chair, and was approached by 3 super hot girls who climbed on my lap, caressed me and let me feel them up completely, showed their tits etc, answered all my interview questions and I did not buy even 1 $10 drink. After a while the waiter would eventually come by and ask if I'd like to buy the lady a drink and I said no thank you, and the girl would then politely leave for greener pastures. I was quoted $100 + $20 for the room by each but alas, no DFK or BJ without condom. These girls were so good looking that next time I might break my own rules.
BTW, the prices for the door girls started at $20, I didn't bother to negotiate because they failed the interview test, The Tamyko girl asked $60, took $40 immediately and $20 for the room. My end of the nite mistake was $20 + 16 for the room at Martha's bar. (too many beers)
Doc says that Papagayos is probably closing soon, I didn't go there but did see a sign there that said "Casino", not sure what that is all about.
Next time I'm going to use the truck stop van option and stay for a few days downtown.

Last night I saw a girl pour a tequila on to the floor as her client went to restroom. I have no idea what a ficha tequila costs, but she didn't drink a drop of it.

one putt: nice report. great information on the van service from the truck stops. i've seen the van and their customers before but always go to nlbt on my own. i always suspected that the van service had some sort of agreement with the police at the gate to get their customers through the police inspection/shakedown. the fee seems reasonable considering how far out from the border the truckstops are and that the taxi from the bridge to the border is usually gringo taxed to be $10 or 100 pesos each way (if you get a taxista that uses the meter, but a lotto ticket because it is your lucky day!). and then there's the parking at the bridge. if you can park your private car at the truckstop for free all the sudden it is getting close to being a drown right bargain. especially for the convenience of bypassing the cops at the gate. for a novice monger it might be a good intro course.
i'm not surprised they make you get out at the border and walk through the bpe line versus staying in the car lanes. it would actually be faster than having to stay in the van. it isn't tj where there's a special van/shuttle/bus lane that can really speed up getting back into the us. and i imagine dhs/cpe/texas/laredo would require some sort of permitting for the van to carry people.

Thursday is almost as good as Saturday. Friday is the best night of the week.
The worst nights are Monday and Tuesday when many of the girls take the night off and clubs like Danash are closed. Wednesday like One Putt mentions is pretty slow but still better than Monday or Tuesday.
It used to be girls would come in by bus on Thursday night from Monterrey and work until they got all the money they wanted and then go back home. This still happens a little at Danash, but Papagayo is dead now so that's not the case there.
There's door girls out every night but some will call it quits early if there's no customers around.

Well story continues, last night a friend took a newbie to NLBT, they got the knife plant, but only cost them $50 to get out of it. Sucks at any price.
They reported good finds in the door girl department tho, friend said was a couple new ones that provided excellent service.

The little additional I have uncovered is that these services were busted by the city of Laredo, basically for shuttling people without the proper permitting. This, again, is just what I have heard.
Doing more research, it could, but probably won't, get more involved. Believe it or not, this is also a "Mann Act" violation. Federal no-no......

Experienced in venues such as Tijuana, FKK and Thailand but my first trip to NL is coming.
Going to fly into San Ant. and get a car, with the 2 hour plus drive should be at the border by 4pm.

They can and do happen, they can spot a newbie 3 blocks away.
For safety never walk with a girl, unless you know her very well, some girls are just cop magnets, for various reasons, you walk with one of those, you will be hassled. Just have her meet you in your hotel lobby, they all know the hotels and the hotels know them, that is easiest and safest.

There are some girls as you desire, not a lot, but Fridays and Saturdays are usually good.

I have known guys to have their shoes removed by cops, it is not usual they will do that but sometimes they do. I wear double insoles in one of my shoes excess money goes in that shoe below the bottom insole, so I can lift the upper insole and show the shoe is empty, I have never had to do that tho.

I concur with SuperGato 100%.
The city lot is monitored, and well lit. They patrol every so often recording plate numbers to avoid lost ticket scams. So don't loose you ticket and think you are going to get out by paying a single $8 a day fare, they know how long the vehicle was there.

I don't know of a hotel here where you would have a problem bringing girls back to. Getting the girls to go there may be a different story, but money talks. A lot of girls, that I know, are hesitant to travel any distance from centro with a guy that she just met. It may take a little more to get them to stray that far from centro, knowing that you can afford a nice hotel may make their prices rise a tad also.
I know a guys that stay at the Hilton Garden and City Express, as well as the 3 you mentioned.
Another option for girls, if you like nice hotels, is the "massage" outcalls in the paper. I used them a couple times to see what they had to offer. One girl they sent was very good. I made a deal to see her outside the work envirionment as she provided excellent service.

I know a guys that stay at the Hilton Garden and City Express, as well as the 3 you mentioned.
The Hilton Garden Inn is now a Quality Inn. I haven't stayed there since they changed hands but the rule in the past was to use discretion. The hotel caters to families and groups and doesn't want to be thought of as a hooker hotel.
I used to stay there all the time to earn Hilton points but now that is over, I'll probably stay at the Crowne Plaza to earn Intercontinental points.

If you have to stay some where upscale, I have stayed at the Colon Plaza Hotel back in 2007 three times and liked it much better than the Crowne Plaza. The taxi driver that picked me up at Crowne Plaza attempted to charge me $20 for a ride to NLBT-double the normal $10 Gringo rate. He assumed since I was staying at the Crowne Plaza that I was que rico-rich.
I have stayed at Hotel Fiesta downtown the past couple of years, have stayed there probably 50+ times. Nothing fancy but it is clean and in very close proximity to the clubs downtown with chicas to fuck-Montera, Herradura & Intimo.

I met Bbond in Pappagayos years ago by pure luck when he fit the description of the guy sitting next to me and my brother's table. Good dude, knows NL better than anyone. I actually know it better than most as I ventured to parts most never hear or read about. I wouldn't write off Bbond advice since he is ONE OF THE FEW American living there.

Colon Plaza has a large walk in shower-glass door/huge shower head hanging from the ceiling. Crowne Plaza had a bath tub with a shower/shower curtain. Colon Plaza Hotel is very close to NLBT.
The taxi driver that picked me up at Crowne Plaza attempted to charge me $20 for a ride to NLBT-double the normal $10 Gringo rate. He assumed since I was staying at the Crowne Plaza that I was que rico-rich.
I have stayed at Hotel Fiesta downtown the past couple of years, have stayed there probably 50+ times. Nothing fancy but it is clean and in very close proximity to the clubs downtown with chicas to fuck-Montera, Herradura & Intimo.Thats the info I was looking for, thanks.

A good steak? After almost 2 years I am still looking. American style breakfast? Close but no seegar.
Of course there is always the Churches Fried Chicken, close again but not as expected in USA, AppleBees, sorta close but not there, and various others.
This town has the worst selection of eating joints for an American style eater.
After a while, you either adapt or prepare you own, because home style does not exist here, unless your home style is Mexican food.

His experience, like mine, includes Tijuana, Germany and Thailand but not Costa Rica so perhaps your HDR references aren't that valid (plus, HDR is a crappy overpriced hotel with high guest fees and the only reason I stay there is because it is so damn convenient).
I also like to stay in a nice place when I'm traveling and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn mostly when I'd hit Nuevo Laredo all the time. I rarely brought girls back there. I usually always hit it and quit it in the short time hotels near the action. I know some guys like to stay downtown and bring chicas in but I like having a nice place with clean sheets, hot shower, cable and wifi and cold AC in the summer. A room in NLBT or downtown is OK for a quickie and maybe a shower to wash the stank off, but give me a place to sleep as well. The short time hotels and rooms in NL are so cheap there's no reason to bring a girl back to your hotel unless you're into all nighters --- hard to find someone good like that unless you go down there a lot.

I'm not trying to discourage you, Frank Dallas, but just help set expectations. I had some great times in NL over the years but in recent times it hasn't been worth the drive. These days I live in Southern California and hit Tijuana all the time. Before I lived here, I'd fly in a few times a year and have marathon TJ sessions --- tip: fly into LAX, John Wayne or even Ontario or Long Beach and save hundred on the plane ticket. Since you have to rent a car anyway it is just a few more dollars in gas, it is just like flying to San Antonio to get Nuevo Laredo).
Even though I'm close to Tijuana and there's more girls that I can get to in years, I still do miss NL sometimes, but now that is cost money to fly there, I'm thinking Monterrey is a better option.

Hey so I've been a longtime lurker on this board, learned a lot from the veterans (and def appreciative of the advice).
I've mongered in NLBT for about six or seven times and just recently discovered the downtown bar scene which is incredible. Much cheaper, and I feel the girls are generally more genuine than in BT.
However, I like the BB experience whether it is BBBJ or BBFS. I know it is dangerous but I avoid people who are on drugs (needle use) and I get checked pretty regularly. I speak fluent spanish and I am average age, average appearance so sometimes I can get BBFS w/o asking. (which is usually how it happens, just DFK a girl and then things get to sex)

I have been going to boystown for several years now. I wanted to try something different and get away from the police check point at boystown. I have heard good things about downtown so I gave it a try.
Let me start with giving easy directions to find Hotel Fiesta. Walk all the way to the park from the bridge. They had the water fountains working and you can't miss it upon clearing the bridge. Walk down the left hand side of the park and continue down the street for a minute or two at most. You will see the Herradura club on the right and Hotel fiesta is just a 100 feet further on the left. Hotel Fiesta has glass around the building and across the street is a large blue building selling electronics.
I stayed in room 128 and don't wish that experience on anyone. I could hear the music blazing until five in the morning. It did give me a great view of the Herradura club from the balcony. I could see all the girls coming and going. I payed 375 peso for the room without a TV. Checkout time is 1:00 PM for anyone who needs to sleep in. I also noticed many residents would leave doors open. I don't know if this was a Mexican thing but I had to parade my girl past the on looks. I had several people across from me who never closed their door.
I left for Herradura club about 10 PM. It has a purple neon light around the roof and side. The place was packed and had a live band. They even had porno on the TV. I saw many girls but could not tell who was working. I would say most were working but not all. I ordered a Corona and it cost 20 pesos on a Saturday. I was soon approached by a girl called Marisela. After saying Hello, and siting down she quickly brought up her trade. She was decent looking with a spinner body. I ordered her a drink which she drank in two seconds. Drinks are the biggest ripoff. She then mentioned 50 dollars for all I could handle. I said fine and we were almost off. She stopped to talk to some girl saying I was taking her to my room. She then mentions police and she takes the left side of the road and I take the right. I still can't get away from worrying about the police. We then go into the lobby with about ten guys giving us the look. She mentions something to the clerk and we head up stairs to my room passing by all the rooms I mentioned were open already.
I open my door and she barges in. I guess she was checking to see if I had other people waiting for her. She turns into a door girl from boystown in the room. I try to give her 500 pesos for 50 dollars and she will not have it. I then throw in a extra 200 peso and she wants more. I tell her no and she gives in. During the deed she is always asking if I am done ever two minutes. She even tried to leave her shirt on. Worst experience I have had in a long time.
She demand that I walk her out but changed her mind when my neighbors start talking to her. I say bye and close my door.
I probably should have gotten another room but stayed in mine tell the morning. No one bothered me as I tried to sleep the night away.
I felt like I missed fired on this trip. I will give it another try but can't help but miss Danash. As a non Spanish speaker the club was a little hard to manage. On the plus side it was a lot cheaper than when I go to boystown. Spent a little over a hundred dollars counting my room, beer and food.

I went down last Thursday and caught Doc and his red dodge van for a ride to BT. He and others were still available at Exit 13 on the TA side. Had a good time with a nice group of drivers. Found a very freindly and attractive lady at Danish. I had not been to NL for a while and now I want to return and stay a couple of nights spliting my time between BT and downtown. I hope to get some help on a couple of questions. What is the best way to reach a good safe parking area to leave my car for a couple of days and which bridge is it near? I have seen the report on how to get to the Fiesta but am somewhat confused as to which bridge to cross. Also I have looked at many past posts and still have not seen directions to the Intima, Herandura and Montera.

I do read the reports and use all the great info I can get. I read several times that $50 dollars was the going rate in Herradura. I do not scream rich gringo upon entering the bars but most girls do hear this upon me entering the bar. I also don't believe I can get a local rate unless I have a guide or BBond next to me. Its not only girls but shops that charge a gringo premium. Its also really hard to persuade when you don't speak the language. Having a guide will help but then you have to pay him. Picking the wrong guide can also make your night awful. Its a Mexican tradition to take advantage of the gringo.
I switched to peso upon hearing how you can pay the girls 10 to 1 rate when trading in dollars. Great info I got from this site. I have always payed using dollars. It did not work out as planned. I will try just negotiating in peso next time.
I have no excuse for paying in advance. I can guarantee it won't happen again. I will remember that experience for a long time.

So I'm new to the downtown bar scene (herradura, intimo, montera) and I have been with five downtown bar girls now. ALL bad experiences.

I don't know of this downtown paradise you guys speak of. I prefer to go to BT and get with a professional who is much more likelier to be clean and good service.

I've been to Nuevo Laredo twice now and have had great experiences at both downtown and at Boystown. Each time I"ve always stayed at the now changed Hilton Garden Inn. I always just took cabs downtown and used the rooms above the Herrudera and then cabs to boystown. This time I would like to stay downtown for a couple of days. I've heard so many pros and cons about the Fiesta. Is there another alternative near there that is chica friendly and maybe a tad bit nicer. Or is the Fiesta nice enough? I'm just looking for a somewhat clean and safe base of operations for the weekend. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

I'm coming up on the one year anniversary on my trip to NL. I don't travel much internationally so wasn't sure if my post is even worthwhile, but here it is. I speak enough spanish to get into trouble. The more I drink, the better I speak (or so it seems to me-I just recall how to say more stuff and get more creative in communicating).
I researched the board carefully before travel and had some luck running into a fellow gringo at my hotel who took me under his wing. Here's how it happened. Walked across the bridge and directly to the Hotel Matamoros in the mid-morning. As I was checking in and asking questions about why the prices are different depending upon what floor, the other gringo stepped in and told me to pay for the more expensive room. The rooms on the upper level get hot. Still pretty cheap-$34 if I recall correctly. The hotel was fairly quiet and monger friendly. We went to breakfast, and he showed me around downtown. He told me where to go and pointed out a few tourist tidbits, including more stuff about the gangs and police than I really wanted to even know. The guy was connected, and I don't even want to know how close or with whom, based upon some of the people he was hanging with that day.
I had a great time. I drank frozen margaritas at the little square across the street from La Montera, which wasd totally dead until mid-afternoon. At that point, there still weren't many people there, but I went with my new friend and drank a couple of beers. He introduced me to a woman who was a little heavier than I like, but very nice and clean. We went back to my room for a mutual massage and covered BJ for 40. She then kind of glommed on to me when we went back to Montera. My new gringo friend was gone. Stayed there and drank awhile. I told her that I wanted to try out the Horseshoe Bar, so she walked with me over there. It was dead. Porn playing on the tv. Nothing going on. I told her that I wanted to go back to the room and rest.
Instead, I went back to Montera without her, and it was crowded at this point. Pretty soon, I had made some new friends. Drinking was getting expensive with my new friends, so I started dancing with some of the girls. That was a real blast and less expensive. The girl I was with earlier showed up and shook her finger at me, knowing I had ditched her. No problems. My gringo friend showed up when I was at the table with about 6 girls and gave me a big smile.
Eventually, I had two girls that were kind of fighting over me, and they clearly didn't like each other. One was petite, maybe 25, very hot body, and she had been squeezing my hand, playing footsie under the table, licking my ear. She was giving me a raging hard-on. It was a transvestite bar with loud music and dancing. I tried to pull her out, but she wanted to party and dance. We had a drink here and danced awhile. It was weird and funny.
Then we walked back to my room quickly-because I had been warned about being out on the sidewalk as far as the policia. On the drive, I saw police driving around in pickup trucks but fortunately none on our walk.
It was very much a GFE night. We took a shower together and played and talked most of the night. At some point, she asked me to marry her. I'm not sure if she was serious or not. But I told her that wasn't going to happen. She seemed only mildly disappointed and we played again after that. I went through four condoms by morning. Turns out she was probably an amateur. There are a number of very cute girls that work the downtown bars. However they are not always working. Timing is everything, sometimes the pickings are slim, and sometimes none. Some days you will be very disappointed. Sometimes, especially Friday and Saturday nights, you will be amazed.

The Fiesta downtown and the Matamoros are where most of the guys I know stay. Some prefer one over the other, I prefer the Fiesta. When staying at the Fiesta, I would give the girl my room number and have her meet me there, just let the desk guy know a girl is coming and to let her pass. Never had a problem.
And I know several guys that prefer the Matamoros. The girls know where both places are.
At the Fiesta, try to get a ground room floor, they are away from the traffic side.

The Fiesta is fine. If you have a problem staying there you will probably have a bigger problem using the bathrooms in any of the downtown bars. You are visiting a third world country. I could show you some hotels I have stayed in in remote areas of the world that are not fine. I stayed in one in Nigeria that had buckets for toilets. In the early morning everybody would set their buckets in the hallway (with the contents) and a guy would come around and swap them out for a clean one. The Fiesta does not use the bucket system.

Bars close at 2am, at 1:30 they start running people out. But, I didn't venture out tonight, my favorita from the Herradura came by at 4pm, left about 5:30, I slept all evening. I was awakened by some rude pounding on my door, which I ignored. Having already spent all I intended to and didn't even want to know who was there.

I have stayed at both the Fiesta and what was the Hilton GI. The fiesta is clean and safe. Think of it like an independent Motel 6 without the chain backing. If you were downtown, it might be worth the money to siesta at the GI and just fiesta at the Fiesta. The fiesta is nice enough for what it is. Would you stay 2 days at a highly used Motel 6?

Just watched the evening news and the reported on a story from the El Paso border. Sounded as though things can get ugly in a hurry there. I've been to Laredo several times over the years without incident. Just the normal hassles from the local "tour guide" that always has questions to ask. For me I'd just walk ablock or two down find a cab and for 10 bucks I rode to boys town. I never partook the downtown as yet. It sounds like I may but anyway I'm more familer with going to boys town since I've been there before.
My question is; is there anything I should be aware of other then being aware of ones suroundings. I read the posts of bringing paso's rather then using green backs which I'll do this time around. But I was more or less wondering how much danger is in boys town now days and if the downtown offers more in the way of saftey and a good time. I'll be heading down there next week. Be working in S/A and I'll take a day or two to head down for some fun (R/R) probably stay the night and then head back.
Any pointers from you guys that have experience is helpful.

I tried downtown for the first time last Saturday. I did not have an epic night so I gave it another shot. Monday is not the best day to monger but I have time off. Got my room at Fiesta around 10PM. They gave me room 103 which is very nice. Right pass the office desk on the left side. It has TV, two beds, AC/Heater and tile floors. The hot water could use a little work but it was not screaming cold.
Herradura was not dead but slow. They sell 10 peso Corona Monday and Tuesday. Girls were making the rounds and would come in every 30 minutes or so. I got a good waiter, he has a bad hand, that would help chase some girls away. Some girls don't know the meaning of NO BEER FOR YOU! I also wonder if one girl was a boy. In three hours I saw about a dozen working girls. Half of them stayed in the bar the whole time. I sat back all night long drinking Corona.
At 1 in the morning a new girl shows up that looks really good. She sits down and I buy her a beer. She gets a real beer not a little glass. She is from Laredo and is twenty years old. Nice body and pretty face. She wants 40 dollars to go back to the room. I tell her 400 peso but no rush, nude and bareback on sucking. She agrees and off to the room we go. She had a nice body and great attitude. The beer was working so I tried many different positions and she never complained. I don't know her name but plan on seeing her again.
On a side note the federal police did enter Herradura with automatics and made their presence known. Nothing like seeing a dozen police officers in all black with automatics.

This isn't any harder than the "comic books" we had to read in HS and JHS health classes. They repeated it again in the service. You bathe thoroughly after these visits with girls who like sex so much that they have more than one partner. In San Antonio all week on business. I have all day Sunday and 1 other day durring the week to. Hobby. Looking for advise on Sunday afternoon and evening for downtown and boystown. Been to boystown several times over the years but the last time was a couple of years ago. Also is the Fiesta walking distance from the bridge or is a cab more practical? Advise from Bbond or others is helpful.

I was hoping for a direct response from my inquiries but no big deal. Crossed the bridge at about 4 pm and walked passed the park. Didn't much open but spotted the sign Mantoas or something like that. Music started at 5 and by 8 I had all I could stand. Meet a biker named jim and a gal named Sandra. All I can say is WOW. "Bleach will kill everything" is just not true either, do some research on the viruses spread by sexual contact, some are quite resistive, both to bleach(chlorine) and hydrogen peroxide. Went down to NL last Thursday and stayed through Friday night. Parked buy bridge 1 in the Laredo lot. Cost was $8. 00/day. It was my first stay downtown. Stayed at the Fiesta. Had no problem finding the Montera and Heradura but never did find Intimo although did not look very hard. Arrivewd about 7pm on Thursday. I am older so I prefer taking some time to scope out the venue and the ladies before I make any decisions. The Heradura was essentially empty between 7 and 9 pm but the Montera had some adequate ladies but none that really caught my fancy. Thus I departed for NLBT. BIG MISTAKE. I have been there a few times over the past year or so and never had been hasseled by the police on entry. The last time I was there was a couple of weeks ago but went in on the van with Doc. Anyway I arrieved at about 10 pm and was ordered out of the cab for the search. Made me empty my billfold to show the cash but they let me handel it. I had a Viagra that I had purchsed from a pharmacy with me. They asked if I had a perscription. I said yes but had did not have it with me (I actually do have a perscription). Thus I was taken inside. The one that escorted me in took the Viagra into the office. I was told to wait outside and did so for about 20 minutes. While I was waiting several other gringos were brought in for a search but all of them were allowed to leave after showing their ID's and answering questions about where they were from and what their occupation was. When I was called into the office the asked for my ID and where I was from and what I did. I told them I was a truck driver and was from San Antonio. They then launched into I needed a perscription for the Viagra. I told them I had on but that I had purchased this one form a pharmacy in Mexico and not perscription was needed to do that. They spoke only a little english and I speak only a little spanish. Although I was certain I would get out with a fine (bribe) they did not seem to be in any hurry and I confess to getting worried. Finally they said my fine would be $50. 00 and by that time I had been in there about 45 minutes so I paid and left. I did chek out NLBT and ended up at Danash with a favorite. Tried to find a manager to complain about the police to but they did not appear to want to listen. Maybe it was my limited spanish. Not a pleasant experience and as a result this will be my last trip to NLBT unless it is in the van. Plus I spent late afternoon and Friday night at the Montea and found two really good ladies. Niether of them would go to the Fiesta citing problemas with the good old police. Ended up in the hotel above Montera which was ok. However would have liked to have taken the last one to the hotel for toda la noche. I will go back to downtown. There were also some no police that seemed to be inspectors standing outside both Montera and Heradura. Had white shirts on that said NL Inspector.

Those are the health inspectors, they make sure the girls that are working have their health inspection cards.

Well after another evening of visiting the downtown I was very impressed. I crossed the bridge rather early; before 5:00 pm. 1st stop was to Montaro. It looked pretty much like the way I left it Sunday evening. I just a couple of beers and then went looking for the other 2 places suggested. I couldn't find the Imtimo either. In fact I walked right passed Hurruda and stopped at the pool hall for directions and it was pointed out. I didn't realize at the time Imtimo was directly across the street. Anyway I made the rounds o few times through the night. I ended up buy a number of drinks for a great looking gal (Anita). I met her Sunday but she was with another guy that I was talking to and I didn't pursue her. Long story short I ended up with her at the nicer hotel across from the Montero. I'm not sure but I think I had the best sex of my life. God she was hot. She spoke no English and I speak no spanish. I did have a little help with a big guy standing with his friends with some translation. In fact he asked her for me to go to the hotel room. Her answer was she don't do that anymore. I still bought her drinks and then she told the translator that she wanted to. Go with me. After my experiences (Sunday and Wednesday) B-T is all but forgotten. My total damage for both nights was about 280 bucks for 2 nights, 3 girls total and one full night in the hotel ($35). I'll never go to B-T again. I would have spent twice that with all the drinking I did. Anyway it was a great time.

How much nicer and how much more expensive is the nicer hotel accross from the Matamorus? I am thinking about a trip to NL downtown nest week arriving on Wednesday afternoon and leaving about noon on Friday (Good Friday). I know all next week (Holly Week) is a very big deal in Mexico and that many of the girls may not be working and that there maybe many Mexicans living in the US visiting. Any opinions or expereince on if the trip will be worthwhile and if there will be too much hassel or a problem in finding a place to stay? I appreciate all the help this forum offers.

If your comparing the nicer hotel to the basic room above the club the difference is night and day. The nicer hotel as mentioned before is motel 6 quality with clean shower and flushing toilet. I couldn't bring myself to spend an entire night at the one above the club; no way. But to each his own. For 35 bucks at the nicer place you can't go wrong.
The only hotel that is sort of across from the Montera is the Matamoros. Actually across the street and around the corner, very close. It's comfortable and girl friendly, not quite a roomy as the Fiesta, I prefer the Fiesta, but know several guys that stay in the Matamoros. Both Matamoros and Fiesta are about $35 a night.
I know good Friday is not a great time to go. I plan on staying Thursday and Friday unless the downtown scene is a total waste. Any girls still around downtown on Thursday.

Cabs are normally at or close to the border, white/yellow in color, but you don't see illegal cabs here. Some legit cabs use their meter, some just quote you a price, some do both.
Cabs usually cruise the clubs at night close to closing time. But be advised the closer to closing time, the more business the cabs have, and you may have to wait a few minutes.
Last night in front of the Montera, I talked to a "guide", Carlos, he confirmed what I have said for sometime, they can spot a newbie a mile away.
